I can't speak for anyone else re: Taash, but I know for me I've met too many people whose every conversation is about their contentious relationship to their mother, and it immediately saps my interest. Growing up feeling like you’re not being listened to or feelings aren’t being considered because it’s all about what mom wants.

Taash is an adult. A young adult, the youngest in the Veilguard. Early 20s they just got to adulthood and still is being told how and what to do by their mother. That codependency doesn’t go away just because you’re an adult, how would you know better if you never knew how not to be in the first place?

But here comes Rook. They are listening, they want to help, they encourage. That’s new. Taash has to work through it. So they talk about it. They’re having a crisis of identity, parents play a big part so of course their complicated relationship is gonna a good portion of it.

As someone with a contentious relationship with a parent, we wish we could just do it cause we’re an adult but the trauma got embedded so deep that’s hard without help. Sometimes it takes a long time to deal with the emotions and the things that happened. We love them, we just don’t really like them.

I’m sadly not really skilled in explaining it, I’ve experienced it first hand. So I find it personally relatable.

I’m not saying you can’t not like Taash because of this. Everyone will have their least favorite character, I just personally really love the complexity of Taash

I think the only ones that would have issues with her being tall would be Kanato and Ayato. Kanato is already short so being fairly tall can make him sulk, while Ayato can have a bit of a frail ego so if you’re taller than him he’ll most likely complain.

Long hair I think would be a preference for Ruki, Kanato, Reiji, and Subaru. Ruki and Reiji like the elegant and sophisticated hairstyles that you can have. Kanato loves to style your hair in cute ways, he’ll want full control over what you do with your hair. For Subaru I think he’d like running his hand through your hair, it’s soothing.

For not wanting to wear makeup. Kanato likes cute things and likes dressing you up so your unwillingness to wear doll like makeup is annoying. Laito might try to convince you to try and let him put some on you, Reiji thinks it would make you look more ladylike (granted you are a female)
