I think Kes "I've always believed the rumors no one else did about the Ocampa having strange psychic and telepathic powers beyond comprehension" NoLastName and Harry "I remember being in my mother's womb" Kim should have gotten into my weirdo bullshit together. Normal looking nice people who are actually sort of off-kilter and have a mischevious side that dips a tiiiny bit into the sadistic and want very badly to be special, just in different ways. Kes having to leave everyone and everything she ever knew behind to pursue this grand adventure, it being a choice she made, could also intertwine with Harry leaving for Starfleet knowing the risks of that life. Both of them are seen by others as naive or child-like in some way and they could complain about that together and it'd be like an actual thing that gets resolved throughout Kes' time on Voyager. There's probably (knowing Harry) an episode where Harry thinks he might be in love with her and resolves to tell her but then a bunch of things keep happening leading to them going on some space adventure and by the end of the episode she's like "So what did you want to tell me?" and he realizes that he doesn't want their relationship (which is fun and easy and comfortable) to change so he just makes up something else and they laugh together and walk down the hall, end of episode. In a much later episode Tom brings it up and Harry confirms he got over that crush a little while later. Also there should have been like 10 separate incidents where Kes and Harry semi-on-purpose stumbled their way into a situation they shouldn't be in and as time goes on they get less and less scared about these situations and more skilled at navigating them. They have their own code phrases and everything. Their friendship arc ends in Harry's promotion to Lieutenant and Kes leaving the ship in just a regular way. Like she just leaves in a normal other ship - both moving on to bigger and better things (resolving their arcs about being seen as naive/child-like) but promising not to forget each other and there IS one last episode where Harry gets in a jam and Kes is there too and even though the situation is dire they're both sort of like "Hey, just like old times~!"
#Kes#Harry Kim#saw art of Kes and immediately started thinking of her again#I wrote a whole alternative character arc for Kes on my patreon where the Doctor is less a mentor and more of a little brother figure#<- Kes has too many mentors#Gag where Kes periodically tries to see if she can unlock any psychic powers in Harry#so we see him trying to bend spoons or read peoples minds in a few cold opens#fake star trek voyager episodes my beloved

𝐀𝐋𝐋 𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐍𝐆𝐒 𝐈 𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊 𝐅𝐎𝐑𝐖𝐀𝐑𝐃 𝐓𝐎 [𝐎𝐍𝐄] — 𝐋𝐔𝐂𝐘 𝐆𝐑𝐀𝐘 𝐁𝐀𝐈𝐑𝐃
summary: after you hear about Lucy Gray's breakup, you wonder if you'll finally have a chance with her. Of course, your father, the head peacekeeper, can never know you like the 'troublemaker' from the Covey.
warning/s: none i don't think?
author's note: okay so after a million years i finally got this one written, an idea that came to me like a week ago and took forever to write because life lol. I hope you all like it anyway, it’s a three parter and was fun to write :)
something to note - Y/BF/N = your best friend's name and Y/D/N = your dad's name
two / three / masterlist / wattpad
"...and I told him that he shouldn't say stuff he doesn't mean, especially when it's just plain old rude, but of course he didn't care..."
I hummed, nodding along as my best friend, Y/BF/N, rambled about an encounter she'd had with one of her neighbours, but I was also glancing around the hallway casually. It was the end of the school day and I was waiting for Y/BF/N to collect her books from her locker so we could go, but she easily got distracted.
Apparently so did I though, as my eyes fell upon Lucy Gray Baird, a talented musician and outsider in my grade, part of a group called the Covey that everyone either tended to avoid or fell in love with for their musical charm. I always found her fascinating, beautiful, as many others did, but she had a boyfriend which pretty much meant there was no chance there. Still, it didn't hurt to admire her.
She was talking to another member of the Covey, Tam Amber, when she accidentally walked into none other than the mayor's daughter, Mayfair Lipp. It wouldn't have mattered so much if there wasn't a clear tension between both girls.
"If only you could open your eyes like you open your damn mouth," Mayfair snapped at her, making passers-by glance their way, listening in.
"Was an accident," was all Lucy Gray said, and she didn't seem very apologetic.
Mayfair scoffed. "'Course it was. A lot of things with you seem to be, don't they?"
Lucy Gray rolled her eyes as Tam Amber tugged her away, the two girls going their separate ways. Y/BF/N, who had stopped talking to observe the argument with everyone else, tried to stifle her laughter.
"Wow, their hatred for each other does not seem to be going away, does it?" she commented to me.
"Do you know why they don't like each other?" I asked, curious.
Y/BF/N shrugged, closing her locker. "Mayfair's jealous, I think. Dunno why, since she's literally the mayor's daughter and the Covey are just a bunch of weirdos singing for their supper."
"They aren't weird," I corrected her as we walked outside. "They're talented. A little different, is all."
"Same thing," Y/BF/N mumbled. "Don't go saying that to your dad. You know how he feels about them."
I tried not to laugh. "He feels like that about anything fun."
Y/BF/N cracked a smile, before chuckling. "Very true."
My father was the head peacekeeper of our district, a very strict man who was a little too overprotective for my liking. Don't get me wrong, I was grateful for the hard work he put in which meant I could live in the nice part of town and never struggle to have a meal on the table. That was something not everyone in District 12 could count on. But it also meant he hated anything that wasn't to his standard.
He had high hopes for me, hoping I'd land a rare but possible job in the Justice Building when I finished school. It wasn't too far fetched considering I was a straight A student. But he also thought I was a goody two shoes who followed the rules – oh, how that couldn't have been far from the truth. If he ever found out how I snuck out at night to visit the Hob and flirt with most of his unit, I was certain he'd have a heart attack.
Being the head peacekeeper's daughter meant that it was out of my hands when he had to attend something important and I, too, had to be present. For example, today was Mayfair's birthday and the mayor had thrown a formal affair in her honour, of which my family had been invited to.
I tolerated Mayfair, but despite our similar stance in society, we didn't share anything else in common. She was too snarky and easily irritated and always killed the mood, so I remained polite with her and that was it. Her party was as boring as she was, full of the mayor's friends, the odd Capitol resident from her dad's circle, and their kids whom I wasn't sure Mayfair even spoke to. If she had any real friends, they weren't here.
Her home was pretty big, for a District 12 house anyway, which made sense since the mayor was the richest in the district, though poor by any other Panem standard. I kept to myself during her celebrations, occasionally chatting with my mum and her friends or picking at the snacks table. That was until a special performance, dedicated solely to Mayfair from her father himself, was announced. An amused grin fell on my lips when I saw who it was.
The Covey.
"Ladies an' gentlemen, how are we feelin' this afternoon?!" Lucy Gray said into her mic at the front of the space cleared in the huge dining room.
Everybody began to clap as I saw the mayor tugging his daughter to the left of the makeshift stage. To say she was angry was an understatement. But if Lucy Gray had any qualms with the arrangement, she didn't let it show.
"This one's for the birthday girl," Lucy Gray continued, smiling widely at the glaring girl in question. "Happy birthday, dear Mayfair."
After the count of three, the Covey were plucking their strings, banging their drums and joining together in a melodious rendition of 'Happy Birthday', and I tried very hard not to laugh as Mayfair was forced to endure it all. To be fair, the Covey were great, and when they performed several songs after that, half the party were cheering them on, either drunk or genuinely amazed by their talent.
Once they'd finished performing for a moment and took a break, Mayfair stormed off with her father in tow, who was attempting not to draw attention to the mishap with his party guests. Again, I couldn't help but stifle my laughter at the turn of events.
Lucy Gray caught my eyes again though, as she was approaching the snacks table I was sat at the edge of, in search of something.
"You guys performed great out there," I said to her when she was close enough, and she glanced up at me, before recognition flashed across her face and she began to smile.
"Why thank you."
"Bet you loved the gig," I said lightheartedly, and it took her a moment to realise what I was implying when she began to laugh.
"It wasn't ideal," she said in a low yet amused voice, "but a job's a job. And technically Mayfair's daddy hired us, not her."
I chuckled to myself. "Hey, it was pretty funny to witness. I'm not complaining."
She shot me a disapproving look as she tossed a grape into her mouth, but a playful smile was breaking out on her lips.
"I didn't know you and Mayfair were so close," she said with intrigue, flipping the conversation to me.
"We're not," I corrected. "Kind of a package deal when my dad's invited to these things. But your performance certainly made this whole thing worth it."
She began to smile, cheeks turning pink slightly. "You've seen our performances enough times now. You ain't sick of me yet?"
I gasped sarcastically. "Lucy Gray, I could never be sick of you. What nonsense are you talkin' about?"
Her smile widened with amusement, before her eyes flickered behind me. "Your daddy's coming. I should go. Wouldn't want him to find out about your sneakin' out and blame it on me."
"As far as he knows, you're a stranger," I played along with a teasing wink, before straightening up and turning around to face my dad.
I heard Lucy Gray walking away behind me just in time for my dad to smile down at me.
"Y/N, how are you enjoying the party?" he asked.
I smiled innocently. "It's great, dad, thanks for bringing me."
He nodded. "Good, I'm glad."
I glanced over my shoulder as he began to talk about what the mayor was saying to him earlier, searching for the Covey girl. Then I spotted her, talking to her family across the room and also shooting me a glance, her cheeky smile on her lips, mirroring mine.
A little flirting didn't hurt anybody, right?
With my father's job came many responsibilities that meant he had a lot of late nights at their base camp, including the weekend when I sneaked out the house to meet Y/BF/N at the Hob and have some fun. It was difficult at first, making sure I timed it right so my mum would be asleep when I left and also generally sneaking downstairs and out the back door. But the more I did it, the easier it became, and soon enough it was second nature.
By the time I reached the Hob tonight, everything was in full swing. The Covey were performing as usual and everybody was up and dancing. I found Y/BF/N at a table, flirting with some boys from our grade. It didn't take long for me to join them, and between the two of us, we landed free drinks just because we played our cards right.
It was so freeing at the Hob, not having to worry about my dad breathing down my neck or about being such a goody two shoes in his eyes. No, here I could do whatever I wanted. The night was always young and nobody could stop me from having fun.
I found myself dancing around with a peacekeeper, Terrence, who had finished his shift for the day and always happened to be around when I did. He'd been flirting for a while and it was easy to play along, have a little fun.
"It's too bad I can't be lookin' for a wife," he said with a boyish grin as he spun me around. "You'd be my first choice."
I tried not to laugh as I wrapped my arms around his neck. "Yeah, that's too bad for you."
"Your dad would kill me if he knew what I was doing," he said, leaning in close for a kiss.
But I tilted his head and pressed one to his cheek instead, before saying in his ear, "Good thing he won't ever find out, right?"
He snorted. "Right."
I smiled contently, before letting him spin me around some more. It was always so easy to do what I wanted here without the fear of it getting back to my father because either everyone was scared of him and what power he held, or they knew it was my word against theirs and my father would never believe them. Besides, I was doing no harm. Some people just wanted a dance and a little flirting, which was exactly what I gave them. What was the big deal?
After finishing my dance with Terrence, I joined Y/BF/N's side again, grabbing her hands and pulling her onto the dancefloor for one final dance for the evening. She laughed, letting me, and we began to chat as we swung about gently.
"How was your dance with Terrence?" she asked with amusement. "You still leadin' the poor boy on?"
"It's not leading him on if he knows it's just a dance," I reminded her. "Besides, it can never happen. He's in my dad's unit. And I don't even like him like that."
"You just flirt with him for fun," she said sarcastically, but I grinned anyway.
"Duh."
Laughing again, she let me spin her around, and then my eyes found sight of Lucy Gray beside the stage. She was talking to her boyfriend, Billy Taupe, the two of them looking awfully cosy with one another. I resisted the urge to roll my eyes, knowing it was just an irrational jealousy, nothing more. I'd never even hinted that I'd liked her, and she'd been taken for a while now, but it was easy to wonder what if.
"You're staring," Y/BF/N noticed, before following my gaze. "Ooh, Y/N, you've gotta let that one go. She's trouble, I heard."
"I didn't even say anything," I defended myself.
"You don't need to," she said knowingly. "Your face says it all. And I'm warning you now. It's not worth it."
I rolled my eyes lightheartedly. "Yeah, yeah, just keep dancing, idiot."
She stifled a chuckle and we got back to it, but not without me stealing one last lingering glance at Lucy Gray.
Of course, after that evening, news of her and Billy Taupe travelled all around school. Rumour had it that he'd cheated on her with Mayfair and, as a result, they'd broken up. Of course it was horrible to hear, but admittedly, the first thing I wondered was did I finally have a chance?
Almost two weeks after hearing the news of Lucy Gray's breakup, I was at the Hob again. I'd been watching the Covey perform all evening, though this time without Billy Taupe who was permanently out of the band it seemed. I'd been waiting for Lucy Gray to be free so I could attempt to make a move.
And after what felt like forever, she finally took to the bar to have some water, and I sucked up a breath before approaching her with a skip in my step.
"Lucy Gray," I started with a smile, earning her attention. "You okay?"
She took a sip before nodding at me. "Yeah, just havin' a break."
"Just a break from singing, right?" I asked, making her quirk a brow. I continued, "Because I'd love to ask you to dance."
A smile grew on her lips, matching the sparkle in her eyes. "I've seen you around, Y/L/N. You probably ask everyone that, don't you?"
I resisted the urge to laugh. "Without sounding big headed, they ask me. So, no, not everyone. Just you. I'd like to dance with you, if you'll have me."
She pursed her lips, eyes flickering between mine considerately and in a way that purposely left me waiting, hoping she'd say yes. Finally, she sighed lightheartedly. "Well, I suppose if you'd like it, who am I to decline?"
My smile widened as I put out my hand and she gladly accepted. The rest of the Covey were playing a song slow enough to have us swaying to the melody, joining the other dancers on the floor.
"You're pretty good at this," Lucy Gray mumbled with amusement, hands wrapped around my shoulders and her head looking over it so I couldn't see her expression.
"Can't be stepping on your toes now, can I?" I said quietly, as to not interrupt the momentary peace that had washed over the Hob. "What sort of impression would that make?"
She snickered. "And why would you be tryin' to make any impression, darlin'? It's just a dance, ain't it?"
A smile crept on my lips. "That it is. But you never know."
She pulled back for a moment, honey-coloured eyes glancing between mine as if trying to decipher my words. I thought I was pretty straightforward, but she clearly didn't agree. Finally, her smile mirrored mine and she leaned her head on my shoulder as we swayed to the song.
It was only a few minutes long, of which, despite my apparent calmness, I was a little nervous to be dancing with such a beautiful girl. I hoped she couldn't feel my heart racing between us. It certainly didn't help when she began to hum lowly, clearly knowing the words to Maude Ivory's ballad, and the deep reverberation of her humming echoed in my ear.
When the song came to an end, everybody parted and applauded the band for their song. Meanwhile, Lucy Gray pulled apart, hands moving from my shoulders and to my hands, squeezing them gently.
"Thanks for the dance," I said to her with a suppressed smile.
"Thanks for askin'," she replied.
My smile was permanently fixed on my face as I watched her walk away, back to the stage for her next number. It wasn't until Y/BF/N appeared out of nowhere, patting me on the back, that I was pulled from my Lucy Gray-induced stupor.
"Someone's crushing," she teased, and I simply ignored her as I glanced back at the brunette onstage.
I was lucky she was giving me a chance at all.
After that initial dance, it became almost tradition to dance with her every time I could, and she always accepted, for some reason giving me the time of day. Visiting the Hob had a new, exciting meaning now, and not just to have some fun fooling around.
Getting to know her more, hearing her talk about her love of performing or something that happened to her that day, meant we were growing closer. Not quite friends, but not anything less either. We'd see each other around school and greet each other, or she'd walk past me in the markets and flash me a smile. Y/BF/N thought I was insane to like her, but I couldn't help it.
A few weeks after that initial dance, she was rambling about some frustrating things before her show, including her shoes not tying quite right, or the step on the stage being a little dodgy and making everyone trip up. One of her complaints was about her red lipstick, which had officially ran out and was her favourite one to wear for performing. Lipstick and makeup in general were rare finds, and she must have searched around a lot to get it, but now she couldn't replace it, not for a while anyway, and it was upsetting her more than she let on.
I couldn't help it, of course. I had to rectify the issue. So, I found a way to trade some meaningless things at the markets in exchange for a red lipstick, one that looked fresh from the Capitol and that I knew Lucy Gray would love. Later that evening, after sneaking out of my house, I headed straight for the garage behind the Hob that the Covey had claimed, where they prepared for their shows.
When I entered, everybody was doing different things, from tuning their instruments to fixing their hair.
"Lucy Gray, Y/N's here!" someone shouted in a teasing voice, and I didn't get chance to see who as Lucy Gray suddenly appeared, stealing my attention.
"Hey, darlin', what're you doing here?" she asked with a bright smile, looking as beautiful as ever.
"Just wanted to wish you luck," I told her, returning her smile. "And of course, bring you a little something."
Her dark brows knitted together above confused eyes, and I took the lipstick from my jacket pocket before holding it out to her.
"You were saying how you felt weird performing without it," I explained as she curiously took it to inspect it, "so I got you another one. Can't have the iconic Lucy Gray without her iconic red lipstick, can we?"
An amazed smile grew on her lips as she looked at the colour, and I couldn't stop looking at her.
"Y/N, this... how did you get this?" she asked with a laugh, meeting my gaze.
I shrugged, and she rolled her eyes before hugging me.
"Thank you so much," she said gratefully, pulling back to grin at me. "I... I don't know what to say."
"You don't need to say anything, just wear it," I said.
She laughed again before going up to the mirror hung on the wall, applying the lipstick as she always did before every show. And when she turned around, I knew I'd made the right choice. As always, she stole my breath away.
"You look beautiful," I told her truthfully. "But you always do."
The pink tingeing her cheeks was contrasted to the deep red of her lips, but she remained confident as she stepped towards me knowingly.
"There's only one way to truly test it," she said, and I didn't get chance to ask what she meant before she pressed a slow but firm kiss on my cheek.
I was dumbstruck, not expecting that at all, and she pulled back with a satisfied smile. Her hand ghosted my cheek, thumb rubbing gently on the inevitable lipstick stain on my face.
"I'll see you out there," she said, dropping her hand but not her smile. "Thanks again, Y/N."
Still reeling at the sensation of her lips on my cheek, I couldn't find the words to reply. She laughed before returning to the Covey, and somehow I found myself walking to the Hob to sit with Y/BF/N. As soon as she spotted the lipstick on my cheek, the laughing and teasing began, but it didn't mean much when Lucy Gray walked out onstage, her matching red-painted lips curved into a grin.
It was easy to fall quicker and harder for Lucy Gray after that, so much in fact that the only thing I wanted to do was kiss her for real.
No matter how much time we spent together, the shameless flirting and banter wasn't enough. I didn't want to be platonic, I wanted more, and I was sure she might have wanted it too.
One evening at the Hob, we were both sat at the bar chatting. Well, she was chatting and I was very much distracted by the sharp curve of her jaw and the curly ringlets of hair that kept spilling into her eyes and the way her mouth moved with each word she spoke and–
"You're not listenin', are you?" she asked lightheartedly, humoured smirk on her lips, matching the quirk of her brow.
That seemed to be the final straw for me, and I couldn't help but lean in, kissing her. Only as I did it did I realise the insanity of my actions, the carelessness, and I pulled away just as quickly. Before I could even scold myself for acting so recklessly, endless apologies on the tip of my tongue, something caught my eye from behind her.
My eyes widened when I recognised the person who had just walked into the Hob. It was my father, the head peacekeeper who hated coming in here because he believed it was a distraction and a bad influence. He was here, and he'd just walked in with some of his peacekeeper friends.
And I was sat in here, a little too close to a girl he also deemed a bad influence. Oh, shit.
"My dad," was all I could get out, before I forgot everything that had happened with Lucy Gray and immediately threw myself over the bar, hiding behind it.
"What are you doin'?!" Lucy Gray leaned over, looking down at me with a puzzled expression.
I couldn't have hunkered down anymore if I tried. "Dad. Doorway. Now!" I whisper-shouted, as if he'd suddenly hear me from all the way across the room.
She must have looked and recognised him as her shadow disappeared and she was no longer trying to talk to me. As I formulated a plan to escape, hoping the full house and loud music would be the perfect distraction, I heard a familiar voice nearing.
"Commander Y/L/N!" Lucy Gray exclaimed loudly, and my heart sank at the possibility of getting caught. "Hi!"
He hesitated, before responding, quite literally just above me. "Lucy Gray, right? The Covey. You performed at Mayfair's birthday a couple of months ago."
I could practically picture the grin on her face as she answered enthusiastically, "The one an' only!"
Sounding a little more laid back than usual, he said, "It was an excellent performance."
"Why, thank you, sir," she replied kindly.
It was quiet between them for a moment, as he ordered a drink with the bartender who thankfully seemed to understand why I was hiding right next to his feet, but he mustn't have left afterwards, as Lucy Gray spoke up.
"Oh, they'll bring your drinks to your table, sir."
"It's fine, I'll wait," he said dismissively, and Lucy Gray merely hummed in response, but I didn't hear her leave.
My heart was racing as I didn't dare move a muscle. My father was stood right next to me, only a bar between us, and I was sure he'd kill me if he knew I was here. Why the hell was he even here?! This was so unlike him!
But no, I couldn't think about that right now. I could only focus on leaving before he discovered my presence.
"So, are you performing here?" my dad asked Lucy Gray in an awkward attempt at filling the silence. He was never good at small talk.
"Uh-huh," she responded just as awkwardly, and I appreciated that, despite my previous mistake with her, she was still willing to keep my secret.
"Nice," was all he said. "I look forward to it. The officers say you're really good."
She didn't reply, must have smiled or nodded or something, because the conversation ended and I was back to hearing the blood rushing in my ears.
After what felt like forever, I heard the bartender serve my dad his drink, and then the latter wished Lucy Gray a good evening before leaving. I didn't dare move, not until I was certain, but Lucy Gray banged the top of the bar to get my attention.
"He's on the other side talking to some officers," she assured me.
"I need to leave out the back," I said, not showing my head just yet. "He'll kill me."
"Okay, just wait," she instructed, and I did just that until I realised she had rounded the bar and was holding her hand out to me. "Come on."
Accepting her hand, I let her keep a look out before she dragged me through the back and out the door, away from my father's prying eyes.
A sigh of relief escaped me as I was in the clear, and Lucy Gray was laughing at my expense.
"That was close," she said between laughter, glancing back as the door closed behind us.
Straightening up, I nodded in agreement. "It was. Thanks for the assist."
She settled on an amused smile before her eyes met mine and her expression softened. "You know, you were in the middle of somethin' back there."
And just like that, the mortifying realisation of kissing her returned to memory, and I was instantly about to apologise.
"Yeah, I–"
She cut me off with a kiss, just as abrupt as mine, but unlike me, she didn't pull away, and I was left to melt into her lips, savouring the warmth of her skin pressed to mine. Her hand cupped my cheek, fingertips pressing down gently, and I sighed into her lips as she began to pull away for air.
"That was... unexpected," I muttered, lips still tingling.
She tried not to laugh. "As unexpected as you kissin' me before?"
I exhaled, slightly embarassed, and she licked her lips before taking my hand and squeezing it gently.
"You should probably head home before your daddy finds you out here," she said, a hint of humour in her voice.
"Home, right," I agreed, before meeting her eyes. "I'll see you at school tomorrow?"
She grinned. "See you then."
I smiled softly before kissing her hand and leaving. It was safe to say I couldn't sleep the rest of the night, my only thoughts of the curly-haired Covey girl who'd stolen my heart.

kpop sampler
my dear @auriette was asking about my non-skz kpop feelings, and i have so many of them, so i thought it would be fun to make a little playlist.
i'm sticking with the 10 link limit (which is v hard) but if you also have a lot of kpop feelings, please rb with a song/group rec of your own!
in no particular order:
The Rose (k-rock)
youtube
i love them. They are super funny on social media, and their music is incredible. Screaming this song at the top of my lungs fixes me a little every time. Woosung is also a soloist and he's amazing.
WOODZ
youtube
This song gives me the shivers.
He also has a cover of Hype Boy that is A+
The duality of man.
I think WOODZ is vastly underappreciated, and i wish more people were as into him as i am.
Ateez
youtube
i know i already talked about them a little bit, but i have to do it again because i love them. just a bunch of insanely talented, stupidly hot weirdos. i love that they're all nerds who make legos together and that everyone but hongjoong and jongho have zero concept of personal space. wooyoung and san are medalists in the kiss your homie olympics. (woo is also bffs with changbin and also yeonjun from txt)
i'm still obsessed with this song and this MV. the ateez lore is very intricate and this is basically cinema.
TXT
youtube
insane dance skills, super talented, great music. it was hard to pick which song of theirs to include here, but this is defintely a favorite. def check out devil by the window" also.
they collabed with the jonas brothers and anitta and both songs were incredible. yeonjun just released a solo album. more talented goofballs. i love them.
OnlyOneOf
youtube
i am obsessed with OOO. they are incredible. they do most of their own choreo, they committed to making their MVs queer af and include messages of acceptance and support for the lgbtq community in the notes for all their videos. they paired themselves up and talk about kissing each other casually.
and they back it all up with high concept MVs, insane choreo, and great music that will absolutley get stuck in your head. picking a song was hard, but this choreo is too iconic
Hwasa
youtube
i am obsessed with her. she is also in mamamoo, who are great, but i am currently absolutely obsessed with her cover of lunch. but this song which is a pretty direct call out of the rampant body shaming in the industry is so much fun.
KARD
youtube
kard is the only mixed gender kpop group i know of, and we need more.
they are all adults, and their music and MVs are, too. killer dancey tracks. their friendship is a lot of fun.
BM is also a soloist, and has some very explicit horny songs that don't bother with the (barely) innuendo that kard plays with. he's also hilarious on SM, and on the daebak show
Enhypen
youtube
they're just good. i love a concept album, and they killed it with this.
Evnne
youtube
i love them.
they were all on boys planet, and i love all the groups that formed from that show (i was going to cheat and make a whole playlist of bp groups, but i'm just going to share this one and i'll make a whole separate bp post)
this video and song are just so fun, and they're so good, and i wanted to yell about them.
(all the boys planet boys are also stray kids levels of obsessed with each other, which i appreciate --zb1 is probably the worst-best about this, but they're all super close)
oh gosh only space for one more... ahhhh who to choooose
Blitzers
youtube
this is just so much fun
no one really sounds like blitzers. the horns and big band elements are wholly unique and fit surprisingly well. they are super talented and clearly having a good time with what they do, and it's just a good time.
I hope you like at least some of these songs/groups!
(Now, to play by my own rules and not add another ten in a reblog unless specifically asked to do more!)
Please add your favorite kpop/krock groups to share the joy of good music that we can all be super normal about together!

SAD EYES, BROKEN SMILE p.II (Buggy x f!Reader)
HERE PART 1 // HERE PART III
Warnings: violence, swearing a lot, reader being a little tsunedere. Little age gap between the reader and Buggy, she's like 25/26.
A/N: i didn't plane this for having more than one chapter but here we go... Again sorry for the typos, English isn't my first language. I hope you enjoy this :D
You don't know much about seduction. In fact, you don't know anything. Throughout your life you've had very little interest in love affairs. You had a pretty rough teenage years, so you were too busy surviving to think about boys. Therefore, the whole thing with Buggy is something totally new to you. Not being in control of the situation gets on your nerves. It's irritating, nauseating. To think that right now you could have collected a nice reward and you could be quietly enjoying your money, but instead you're in that crew thinking about a clown all day is something your pride can't take. You often wonder how you could have stooped so low, but as soon as that red-nosed idiot pops into your head there is only room for daydreaming.
Now your goal is no longer to kidnap him and hand him over to people who will probably kill him, but to try to make him notice you. But really you, as a possible love interest, and that's much harder than your first mission. It's like ten billion times more complicated. Killing people is a lot easier than attracting them.
You were trained to kill people, so you're not a person who knows very well how to relate to others. Social skills aren't your strong suit and being nice for more than fifteen minutes isn't either. You've at least tried to be friendly with the rest of the crew, but by continuing to pretend you're a wimp you haven't had much chance to blend in either.
Today the whole crew went to the nearest tavern for a drink. Buggy claims to have landed a deal that will bring in a lot of money, so he's in a good mood. At first the tavern keeper didn't seem too happy to welcome a gang of pirates to his place, but Buggy can be quite persuasive when he wants to be.
Now they're all drunk. Buggy is the center of attention, as usual. He boasts of his great wit and everyone around him cheers him on. The alcohol causes all emotions to intensify. You watch him from the bar, this time you're drinking because it's the only way you don't feel ridiculous about being hopelessly attracted to that idiot.
You have conflicting feelings all the time. You like him, but you think he's a dumbass. You're attracted to him, but at the same time you think he does terribly ridiculous things. You have no idea how to handle all those emotions, but you're also unable to take your eyes off him or ask yourself absurd questions, like how experienced he should be, or how he should look without makeup. You also often think about whether he'll like younger girls, because he's got more than a decade on you and you might not be his type. In fact, what his type is also comes to your mind all too often.
Fuck, you're a mess.
You order another mug of beer, turning away from staring at Buggy with an intensity that could break solid concrete. You've always had a good tolerance for alcohol so you're not drunk, just dizzy enough to make it all the same to you. The perfect state.
"What's a girl like you doing surrounded by this bunch of weirdos?"
Suddenly you see a guy next to you, he doesn't belong to the crew. He's a big man, looking menacing. He must be one of the few people who have decided to stay in the bar despite the pirates. You decide to deliberately ignore him.
"Hey gorgeous, I'm talking to you.”
You take another swig of beer, completely evading. You decide to turn around again, now Buggy is doing some sort of demonstration. He has detached his hand from the rest of his arm and swings his clenched fist at full speed. You don't know what he's talking about, but he sure has exaggerated the whole thing. You smile to yourself.
"Who the fuck is that fucking clown?" asks the heavy one, still standing next to you.
You don't even deign to look at him.
"Shut the fuck up" You tell him in the coldest voice you can.
"Don't tell me you're going with him and his whole gang of freaks" The guy lets out a huge laugh "Honey, a beauty like you is wasted among all those creeps."
"And the oxygen you use is also a waste considering it could be useful to someone who isn't useless to society."
"But what the fuck is wrong with you, does it bother you that much that I pick on that loser?"
"I told you before to shut the fuck up" You repeat calmly and without raising your voice.
"Uh, you scare me" he laughs "almost as much as your big nosed captain".
"All right, you asked for it”
The guy can't even react, as soon as he wants to realize you've already stuck an ashtray in his mouth, wedging it in such a way that he can barely breathe. And, before the others can even realize what's happening, you grab one of the stools and hit him so hard in the stomach that the guy goes flying towards the other end of the bar, hitting the wall with such force that the ashtray comes out of his mouth.
You calmly return to your seat, taking another sip of beer as if nothing had happened. But it's at that moment that you come back to reality to realize that Buggy is no longer the center of attention, but you, and that everyone is staring at you in disbelief, including your captain.
Fucking shit, for fuck's sake.
Now you've really fucked up. You're supposed to be a rookie with barely any physical skills, not a killing machine. Let's see how you get out of this now, though at least Buggy is paying attention to you. God, you have to be a moron to think something like that at a time like that, you're totally losing your mind.
"What the hell was that?" Buggy ask to you.
You just answer simply, as if everything that just happened was not with you.
"He was bothering me"
Buggy approaches you, something that makes you nervous. Not because he might be angry, but to have him around. You almost killed a guy just two minutes ago but having the man you're obsessed with looking at you makes your legs tremble.
“You broke all his teeth, Y/N.”
You look at the man across the bar. It's true, you've left his mouth in a mess, all his clothes are stained by the blood that falls on him. But hey, he asked for it, you warned him.
"Why hadn't you said you knew how to fight like that?" He insists, and you don't know if right now he's thinking of killing you, kicking you out of the crew, or both.
You can't tell him that you were hired to hunt him down and that you've abandoned that task because you have a huge crush on him. Especially the crush part, you would never admit that, so you must think of a good excuse as soon as possible.
"My parents trained me" and that's not a lie "but they always said to only use my skills if necessary" that's a lie, and a big one at that.
Buggy looks you up and down, which makes your stomach tingle. You are so close to him that you can almost feel his breath on your skin. So close that it would be very easy to get a couple of centimeters closer and see what red lips taste like. You wonder what his skin must feel like against yours, or how your hands must feel tangled in his hair. You look like the narrator of a romance novel, it's pitiful but you can't help it.
"You've been swabbing the deck since you came in, how did it not occur to you to say you could be of more use to us?”
"I'm sorry, captain."
Buggy lets out a sigh, there is something paternalistic in his attitude, that condescension that is so typical of him. That makes you relax, he believed everything. Probably because he's drunk, but you don't care about that now.
Buggy puts his hands on your shoulders, making you jump. It's the most contact you've had since you've known him and it's not even real contact because he's wearing the fucking gloves.
"Y/N, look at me" And you obey, although the fact of having him so close to you, being able to smell his alcohol breath mixed with that smell of gunpowder that characterizes him makes you a little dazed. You feel more and more like kissing him. "You can't keep such important information to yourself. But don't worry, I'm going to look for a better position for you. With how good you are at fighting, we're going to do great things together, huh."
You nod without further ado. It's a shitty proposition, he's just telling you that he'll use you as a weapon, like he uses the strongest members of his crew. But you don't care, because Buggy is touching you and because from now on you will be able to talk to him a lot more.
Maybe you should go talk to that guy from earlier and thank him.
Oh, god. Yeah, you're definitely going from bad to worse.

meet my mcs!!
i've seen a bunch of ppl do this for their olnf mcs and i wanted to join the bandwagon lawl
these are my mcs, luca and mabel "maab" de melo! luca is on the qiu route and uses he/xe pronouns, while maab is on the tamarack route and uses she/star pronouns. before moving to golden grove, the twins and their momma opal lived in an apartment in portland; opal was born in manaus and lived there until she was 15, when she and her parents moved to the u.s. luca and maab are fraternal twins —both transgender— and they're both autistic with ocd. (fun fact: they transitioned at around 6 and took each other's names!!)
luca de melo 🍁
step 1 - as a 10-year-old, luca was a pretty quiet individual who let his older twin maab do the talking for him. he'd always wear his trusty bear ears as a safety item, communicating with facial expressions or gestures. funnily enough, he was more chatty with people he didn't know than people he did know. he loved his rollerskates as well as comic books and superheroes, with superman being his favourite. he loved opal the most in the whole wide world, and was as thick as thieves with maab. however, he always had a hollow pit in his stomach because of not knowing his dad. despite being taller than his twin, luca generally shrunk into himself and didn't mind blending into the background. he had stumbled across the word 'queer' and figured that was a good use to describe his romantic orientation! fun.
when he met qiu at the treehouse he fell head over heels for him immediately. luca would always want to spend time with the other kid, and blushed profusely any time he would compliment him. he wasn't too fussed on tamarack on the other hand, finding her personality a bit much for him. honestly, he didn't really like her. he was okay with baxter and darren, though.
step 2 - 14-year-old luca was a far cry from the shy, bear-ear-wearing kid he used to be. he spoke more frequently, but most of his vocab was peppered with swears. he had a more confrontational attitude and was more quick to anger, usually letting his fists do the talking; he knew the principal's office like the back of his hand and was no stranger to lectures about "no hitting" and "violence is never the answer" but he didn't really care. he styled his hair into locs and traded his bear ears for baseball caps and beanies. he abandoned his rollerksates a while ago, choosing to use a skateboard. his interests in comic books and superheroes drifted into an obsession with MF DOOM. he also realised that he was actually gay. yay for self-actualisation!
his relationship with autumn morphed from a sweet puppy romance to a playful relationship, where the two were attached at the hip. the once-shy boy who hyperventilated even *thinking* about being in the same room as autumn was now holding their hand and teasing them like it was nothing! luca was now the one who was making the moves and coaxing autumn out of their shell; they would joke around and flirt with one another but they didn't put a label on anything because labels mean commitment and commitment means yikes. they were happy though. they had each other and that was all that mattered. luca avoided tamarack like the plague, thinking her a 'weirdo'.
-
maab de melo 🍂
step 1 - mabel (pronounced mah-bel) used the nickname "maab" among her peers, only allowing opal to call her "mabel". maab was a chatty and sociable ten-year-old, happy to talk for herself and her brother. as the older twin she felt she had a lot of responsibility, despite being shorter than him. she found it easy to adjust to golden grove, and enjoyed the change of scenery. she also had a good relationship with her momma opal, but she always felt that opal liked luca more than her. she also loved her rollerskates and decorated them with tons of stickers. she very much had the "boys are stupid" belief and made that belief verrrrrry well-known. she was queer too!
upon meeting tamarack in the bushes, the first thing maab blurted out was "you're pretty". from then on they were two peas in a pod! maab loved spending time with tamarack and always felt a fuzzy feeling whenever the two hung out. conversely, immediately upon meeting qiu she made it clear that she didn't like him and they would never be friends. she wasn't keen on baxter or damien either! oy vey.
step 2 - as a teenager, maab's "boys are stupid" belief launched into a full-blown "we need to dismantle the patriarchy" manifesto. she was an out and proud feminist and activist, not caring who she made uncomfortable with her beliefs. her smart mouth made her the enemy of quite a few boys in her class, but she couldn't care less. she really got into tyler the creator and bought his albums. she still used her rollerskates, and got matching piercings with luca to symbolise their bond. she didn't need to speak up for him anymore, so their siblinghood had mellowed out to gentle ribbing and teasing, as well as being there for each other through thick and thin. however she had convinced herself that opal would never love her as much as she loved luca, and resigned herself to that fate. she and opal bickered frequently and she was often in her feelings about how she could never live up to luca's standards. quel tristesse. also, her coming out as a lesbian didn't come as a surprise to literally anyone at all.
maab's relationship with tamarack only strengthened throughout the years, with her comforting and reassuring her whenever she felt insecure. they also both had braces, so that was fun! maab gave her the nickname "bowie" because yay nicknames. on the other hand, if maab and autumn weren't enemies before they sure were now. the two had never gotten along, but now the feelings of enmity were mutual.

I don't know if I think it's likely that Crowley would hang around Soho after the events of S2. Something in my gut is telling me that he would flee. Just...way, WAY too many reminders of Everything. People asking him where Mr. Fell's gone, probably. Hundreds of years of memories. And given that he's going to want to reestablish his own boundaries and emotional walls immediately after what feels to him like a massive betrayal, I don't think I see him wanting to look out for the bookshop or do any favors in memory of Aziraphale. Not yet; not until their story moves forward a bit.
But on an emotional level, the vision of the other characters trying to comfort him is so healing. I WANT to see Muriel trying to talk to him about human stuff and being so ridiculously goofy about it that Crowley forgets to be sad for a few seconds. I WANT to see Nina serving him espresso and sarcasm, and Maggie bringing him records that he doesn't usually like but occasionally does.
And yes, I WANT to see him looking out for the bookshop anyway. I don't know if I can believe it, but I want so badly for him to look at the ruins of his former life and decide it's still worth something. Even if Aziraphale isn't here now. The history in the books and the scrolls and the people who live in the neighborhood and the very buildings themselves - they're still worth something.
And there is still room for a few potted plants in the shop, which he brings from his flat.
I also want Crowley to find out what Newt and Anathema and the Them are up to. I want to see Anathema warily eyeing Crowley from afar as she wonders why this weirdo is back in town before finally going over to say hello. I want to see a very well-intended Newt break Crowley's cell phone while trying to help him find directions. I want Dog running and yipping around their feet while Adam offers to share his ice cream, and Pepper asks a bunch of incisive questions about where Crowley's from, and Brian drips chocolate all over himself, and Wensleydale yammers on about the Them's latest project.
I want the Tadfield crowd to visit Soho for the coffee shop that Mr. Crowley mentioned, or perhaps for the Soho crowd to visit Tadfield for the amazing weather Crowley insists is always there.
"Humans: you don't let yourself get too attached." I want him to finally figure out how to love a little community, even knowing that the members of it will pass away and change over time.
I spend all my time analyzing Aziraphale because I love him so much but find his motivations hard to understand - writing meta after meta is my way of processing my thoughts. But I love Crowley, too. He has taken a little bit less emotional processing for me. But I want so much to see him genuinely rested and content. It would be like seeing part of myself be rested and content.

Okay let's say that the Espada have been in a relationship with reader for a long time and of course the family of the reader has understood that they're in a relationship and are pestering them to meet their partner. How would the Espada feel if reader's family are almost immediately welcoming them into the family and are very sweet and accepting? I'm seriously tired of the trope where the family is judging and unaccepting, plus my whole family are a bunch of weirdos (in a nice way) and no matter who I bring as a partner as long as I'm happy they're all like "now you're part of the family" 😂, thank you for all the amazing content!!
ARRANCAR X FAMILY ❤️
Anon, do you mean to tell me you could bring an Arrancar to dinner, and they'll be ok with it? Damn, some have all the luck!
Starrk is weary of not fucking it up. Moving slower than he usually does, putting things away with utmost care as he helps around your kitchen before you serve dinner. Your parents love him! He's handsome and seems to know how to take care of you. Sure, the attire is weird, but they don't judge!
At first, they're a bit nervous about the literal shark teeth around her face. However, Harribel's solemn attitude and sweet demeanor while looking at you make your family melt as they realize how much you mean to her. Sure she slayed a cup that burnt your hand, but hey, that just means she'll protect you, right?
Ulquiorra: It was awkward at first, yet despite Ulquiorra's icy attitude, your family noticed he had strong feelings for you. Even if he hadn't realized it. And it's just that Ulquiorra's attitude is like: 'I don't care about y/n, but if anything happens to them, I'll kill everyone in the room and then myself' Your parents think he's hilarious.
Oh, Nnoitra craved to see your face when your parents yelled at you that you brought a monster into their homes. Instead, he found they were missing as many screws as you. It was beyond uncomfortable for him, feeling so welcomed. Yet, as undeserving as he stood, Nnoitra was surprised to find he was bearing this for your sake.
Grimmjow: You begged him to behave, and as Grimmjow owed you one, Grimmjow did his best to meet his word. However, destructive by nature as he was, it wasn't long before he picked a fight with your drunk cousin. When he finally blasted him over a table, your whole fam cheered. "It was about time somebody put that bicthy boy in his place!" one of your grannies said, and Grmmjow cackled. Your family was actually not that bad.
Szayel: In his research, one's partner is supposed to make a memorable first impression, so that was his initial intention. However, hollow technology and human food did not always go together, and the robot he built explored over the table.
But that wasn't what troubled Szayel. It was the realization that he cared about what your family could think about him. Luckily for him, everyone cheered the failure and told him that only by making mistakes once progress. Kind of insulting coming from a human, still- it made him feel warm inside. Yeah, they were indeed related to you.

That fact that wooyoung and San both said it makes them uncomfortable when people ship them together but people still do it is mind boggling, like San has asked repeatedly for people to stop because he’s uncomfortable with being shipped with other men or with other people in general. Wooyoung just said it’s weird for people to do that, but he doesn’t mind it as much. But San tho, that man went on a three minute rant about it(when he did that live and read fanfics, he saw one of him and wooyoung and he immediately stopped and made his boundaries very clear) and yet this one account on tiktok(idk the @) and a bunch of weirdos keep sexualizing it, especially when that one wanteez ep where they all get drunk, and San had to pee so he held his dick down bc it was getting hard from having to pee, and everyone was saying “it’s bc wooyoung was next to him, they should just kiss already” and shit like that, my favorite one I saw was “whoever gets mad at these is the real problem” and i dont remember the caption of it but it was harmful to wooyoung and san and it was where San was sitting in a bus and he was a lil hard im assuming bc he was adjusting himself (it was a print, he was wearing those sweatpants that show it off) and it was just bizzarre to me that people think this okay when all of them have specifically said to stop. Like I get jokes and shit but that one account isn’t joking, like they want them to be together so bad it pretty much pushed San and wooyoung away from each other for a bit(two weeks straight of barely speaking to each other on camera and not even hugging each other).
You can't ever stop ppl from shipping other ppl i mean you already do that for your irl friends too (im guessing so at least) and even if they tell fans to stop they won't stop. That's the reality. But if this starts to affect their relationship then it becomes a problem because it's no longer just a fan/fandom thing. There can be something going on between them thats more than friendship and as long as they dont confirm anything we won't know. I think the issue with shipping idols is that many people tend to miss what a friendship is and that these idols are from a country where acting 'gay' with your homies is a normal thing lmao 😭 men will fuck each other and then say they're not gay that's exactly the same in korea🧍🏻♂️also are you rly good friends if ppl dont think yall gay/j but fr tho friendship is a form of love why do people get weirded out when it looks and feels like love 😭😭 dyk what i mean 🧍🏻♂️ if youre gonna ship them do it discreetly and dont force it down their throats 👨🏻🦯 let's just hope that their relationship is not hurt bc of the shipping 😔

acc sent this to the wrong acc
what would you do if a canon smg5 and smg6 was introduced
Lol don't worry you're fine ^^ You sent it to my main blog it's all good. Though I'll answer it here again (and delete the other response as to not cause confusion for peeps ^^)
Quite frankly? Die /silly
Nah I'd actually sit back and watch the show and compare every little detail between mine and theirs to see if I might have inspired different things, which would make me so giddy because that would mean the team read my fic and liked it
I'd still keep SMG5 and SMG6 around as characters though, mostly because they're still very special to me. Like. I'm even integrating those goobers into other AUs just because of how much I love them.
(And sadly no, not the Schmigadoon AU. Might write a long one-shot about how they would be in the first story, and after Schmicago is finished might write one about that too. Hell or even putting Apprenticeship in Schmigadoon and Schmicago, obviously before the couples are together but still. They're not canon to that AU).
But yeah no I would freak out if there were ever an SMG5 and SMG6 added to SMG4. There would also be SO MUCH art of my versions meeting their canon counterparts and all that stuff.
Hope that answers your question! :D
(Again, dw about sending it to the wrong blog. @bstroobery is still me but also a bunch of different weirdos I'm stuck with for my entire life /silly)
#blue strawberry’s answers#smg4#smg4 au#smg4 apprenticeship au#smg4 Schmigadoon au#smg5#smg6#smg4 oc#even if the canon version wouldnt be like mine i would still likely love the characters in SMG4 either way

From Pilot to Canon, Luz and Eda
With my belief that No Tree Left Behind was boarded as part of the pilot continuity (hence Lilith's depiction), I want to bring up that I think there's kind of a subtle difference between Luz in that episode, or 'Pilot Luz', and Canon Luz as we got in the actual animated show.
With Canon Luz, she's a more brash, confident individual, who can get in over her head; King mentions that she smells of overconfidence, plus there's Luz recklessly getting into stuff like in Covention or Enchanting Grom Fright in the heat of the moment. She has this overwhelming energy and enthusiasm that's unstoppable, but as a result she can sometimes forget about the people around her, hence Wing it like Witches.
And a lot of that has to do with Luz's relationship with The Good Witch Azura in canon, because it means that the Boiling Isles is her fantasy!!! It's her chance, it's her adventure, it's what Manny would push her to go for! So she gives it her all. And in the latter half of the show, Luz's willingness to go at any cost, even to her own detriment, borders on self-sacrifice. In a way she's secretly atoning for her own existence, it's like... 'Socially acceptable' self-harm by risking herself.
So there's a difference in Pilot Luz during NTLB, who is much more averse to the martyr idea; She's a lot more scared and reluctant to fight for Arborgeist, and in a moment of crisis admits she doesn't quite get what Eda is so worked up about. And this makes me think of how the in the pilot continuity, there isn't that same relationship with Azura; The pitch bible reveals we would've had an episode where it's revealed to be written by an ex of Eda's about her, so you can guess that Luz drops it afterwards.
And as the pilot even shows us, Luz didn't choose to be in the Boiling Isles! And in lieu of my latest reblog, that feels relevant because Dana mentioned how in the final show, Luz choosing that was so incredibly important; It was a foundational change to the character's storyline. Luz wants to be here, she wants to risk it, this is the adventure and if she gets bruised up, it's okay. Us weirdoes have to stick together, she declares passionately as she rallies a bunch of strangers against Warden Wrath in the first episode. She becomes in canon the kind of passionate, righteous person who will talk your ear off about a thing and she's right about it.
So looking at the difference between first episodes, it tracks that Pilot Luz is much more reluctant and just trying to survive, hence her not 'getting' Arborgeist, in the sense that she doesn't see what's worth potentially dying over. Whereas with Canon Luz, I think she'd be more than willing to deep dive into this culture and play the hero, she's a social activist.
This isn't to trash on Pilot Luz btw, nor canon Luz; I just find it fascinating to consider how her character has changed and developed, how the story has, and how the difference in first episodes alludes to this. First episodes are very important, they can establish a lot of the core themes and ideas and Dana herself confirmed the significance of certain differences from the initial pilot. So it's fascinating seeing that difference in action, shown to us, rather than having to be told, since normally we couldn't watch the pilot storyboards to see for ourselves. Pilot Luz and Canon Luz are different characters with different flaws and circumstances, and they're both beautiful in their own ways for it.
I'd even argue that in a canon episode like WilW, Luz ends up playing the role Eda has in NTLB! And her stepping down after realizing she (might) hurt a loved one who was dragged into this, only for them to understand how much they care and come back to help for that reason... The story beats live on. Canon Luz would probably be thrilled to see Pilot Eda show so much care about something when she normally doesn't; Whereas Canon Eda becomes more of a practical guardian who's reining her kid in out of experience, because she's been hurt herself and is worried, and a tad pessimistic.
It's like the dynamics between Luz and Eda reversed from pilot to canon, with a scared and reluctant kid and her mentor who can push her too much sometimes; And now it's this overconfident, excited kid who wants to try everything and thinks she's invincible, with her jaded mentor who's a realist but also she cares more than you realize and wants to provide a safety net, being surprisingly thoughtful at times.
It makes sense, because again going back to my last reblog, Luz being more enthusiastic about the isles was to also help her foil other characters better, including Eda, and vice-versa. So it's possible Eda was changed to lean more into her pragmatic mentor role -Not that she doesn't still have her irresponsible, reckless moments- while bouncing off of Luz's new enthusiasm, which can lead to conflict like Luz wanting to try the newest magic and Eda not being in the mood, which leads to Luz being a bit reckless (take for example The Intruder).
Eda being more tired and jaded could also tie to the development of her curse as a disability that exhausts her, since in the pilot continuity the curse only made her age more; In canon, it does that AND messes with her magic stores, which leads to more exhaustion! In addition to becoming a beast. And with Eda becoming disillusioned with the isles due to her traumatic experiences, Luz acts as the light in her life to reignite her passion, which leads to Eda taking a more proactive role against Belos in S2!
She believes in her efficacy more because of how Luz changes the isles because of Eda, which makes Eda become more of an agent for social change as she starts to believe she can make a difference again, just as she did as a teen in IFWOT. Maybe Eda's curse isn't something to feel shame over anymore, maybe she shouldn't let it stop her from rallying everyone...!
Thus, there's not just a difference between Pilot and Canon Luz, but also Pilot and Canon Eda in NWLB. Though I imagine Canon Eda would still help to defend the Arborgeist tree, I'm not as sure about her confidence in attempting to rally others to do the same; She's got that loner vibe who assumes she has to do everything on her own because her own family and lover wouldn't support Eda in her defiance to the coven... But now she does have support in Luz. And King. And some of those loved ones are turning around too, no thanks to Luz's arrival inspiring some!
All this helps culminate in the S1 finale with Eda being used as a rallying cry against Belos, signaling the beginning of the end for his regime as she inspires not just a kid like Luz but other youths like Gus and Willow, and even helps chaperone Grom after avoiding Hexside for years; Eda’s really starting to believe again and she admits that Luz has gotten into her head as the cause.

I updated Dada (https://archiveofourown.org/works/27616831/chapters/67564753), my worm fanfiction that's just a lot of wacky random things happening unless one's got an understanding of Worm, the Worm fandom, random things the author of Worm said on social media, Worm fanart, and fanfics I wrote nearly a decade ago. Should it still be ongoing? Probably not, but I really want to at least write a Slaughterhouse 9 arc. A very silly one. The Slaughterhouse 9 are a bunch of brand new evil blorbos here to shake up Brockton Bay when they arrive in mid Worm. To adjust for this already being a fanfic and the Slaughterhouse 9's presence already being expected, a second and superfluous group of Slaughterhouse 9 members has been added who are effectively posing the same threat to the Slaughterhouse 9 that the Slaughterhouse 9 pose to everyone else: a bunch of weirdos who are weirdly invested in them have arrived from out of town. And in this case out of fic, cos they're all references to one fic or another I've already written. Leading the team is Nice Guy as he appeared in Nice Guy's Amazing Adventures with those Chaps he met from the Slaughterhouse, my first fanfic if you willingly ignore all the worse ones I've written. And Live From Killington, the fan audio drama I made much later. The man wishes he was Jack Slash. Desperately. His showboating is ruined/supported by his ability to be ignored by those around him. The team's pet is a trans rendition of Crawler from #Too_Advanced, a forum quest thing where readers would write in and ask Crawler questions. It wasn't very good but it was pretty fun to do. Big horrible therian. Self proclaimed world's smallest kaiju. Feracity was a fanfic thing I wrote starring a nonbinary version of Night Hag, based off a random headcanon that since her fantastical powered up transformation is just a goth lady, that that's probably still a big change from normal. Night Hag's in DADA like this, albeit a bit more aware of post-Worm matters. And to help confuse matters, there's two versions of Damsel of Distress. One of the two, Ashley, is written like the Damsel from Distress Quest and Audacity, two forum quests I ran that were jokingly dubbed Kittius' play by post RPG by my friend Pita Enignma on account of my friend Kittius having a lot of wicked suggestions and helping form my impression of a much louder and more manic rendition of Damsel of Distress, based on her appearances and the information available before she became a main character in Ward. Ashley's appearance is based off of Creator Crash/Pabel and Nine's rendition of her, while her backstory is an exaggerated rendition of the one fans got to know and love. She's contrasted with her "sister" Daphne, herself inspired by various wild fanfiction versions of the character from so early on post Worm that they didn't even have her secret identity available. While she's from a no powers coffeeshop AU and she runs a small business, her personality hews closer to Ward's version of Damsel of Distress. What is their goal? What sinister plans do they have? Why are two of them shop window dummies? How have they gathered from multiple fanfictions to assail another? Find out in Dada, in amongst a sea of other absurd nonsense clogging the skeleton of a retelling of Worms tale of heroes and villains and escalating dramatic battles to save the world from madness and destruction.

What's your opinion on the fandom rhetoric about how Sam lacks bodily autonomy but Dean has it? I personally think it's weird that it's such a widespread idea when it's just blatantly untrue. A big theme for Dean's character is that his body is seen as a weapon or tool for others to use, so it's strange that people claim that he has full bodily autonomy.
(...okay, that the gif is by 'unfuckablebogtroll' is somehow very fitting.)
I think my main opinion of the fandom rhetoric is that there are a lot of batshit bitter sam girls who screech that dean is a meanie meanerton who doesn't respect sammy's presh 'tonomy and there are a lot of batshit extreme dean girls who wail about how sam is a meanie meanerton who, idk, waterboards dean in his spare time or whatever they're complaining about this week (I've unfollowed as many as I can of both camps), so for the most part both groups can be completely flushed down into the sewers of 'jesus christ, do you guys ever actually watch the show rather than circlejerk the same four arguments about it? ...no? oh. well, at least you're honest.'
So, with that said.
Yeah, obviously Dean lacks autonomy. But there's a difference between autonomy and agency, and I'm not going to pretend to have a super solid grasp on either (since a lot of philosophical debate [especially by fangirls] makes me want to jump into the aforementioned sewer just not to hear it anymore), but I can at least kind of make a stab, since you asked.
At least in the way I understand it (do you see all the caveats), bodily autonomy is literally getting to decide what happens to your body, including where it goes and who's inside it and what's done with it, and agency is general decision-making of like the brain sort -- what decisions will I make, who will I be, and so on. Both Sam and Dean are assailed on both fronts alllllll the time. Fandom folks tend to exaggerate those assaults on their preferred brother (because, for some reason, egregious victimhood is the only way you get to be a cool character?? what is that about.), but as with a lot of things in CW's Supernatural, the actual facts are a lot more balanced than fandom weirdos will admit.
Sure, Sam's got a bunch of autonomy assaults. Torture, possession, etc. Most of the time, though, I see his agency as pretty intact. He may not necessarily want to do some of the things he does (childhood hunting comes in here), but he chooses to do them. Is he manipulated sometimes? Sure. Lied to? Obv. But there's an essential steel pillar at the center of Sam and whether they're good choices or whether they're bad choices, he is the one who makes them, and he lives with those consequences. This is part of why the s9 thing with Gadreel is troubling: yeah, it's about bodily autonomy on one (more boring) level, but the much bigger problem is that Dean overrode his agency -- part of why I tend to believe that Sam's biggest objection is that Dean lied and then couldn't apologize for it, when Sam's agency is the most precious thing he owns. Now, he's a smart guy, and there are times his agency does take a blow because of some canon circumstance -- he doesn't want to do X but the world will end if Y, so X it is -- but for the most part Sam's solid and he can live with what he has to do. Though he won't pointlessly die of blue balls about it. What a silly stand on agency that would be.
Dean, meanwhile, doesn't actually have his bodily autonomy violated too much. By which I mean: of course, Dean-as-object is one of my favorite tags, of COURSE he's used as a meatsack and a weapon and a fuckdoll and all those lovely things. But he's very rarely literally possessed; he's holding the blade or the gun or what-have-you. That said, his agency is in the fuckin' gutter, haha, and that's more often what I mean by Dean-as-object. From childhood he's fully expecting to be told what to do, to be used as a pawn, to be used in other ways, to take on someone else's responsibility and make it his own and subsume his actual desires and wants for the good of... whoever. Usually John, but not always. This is something Sam doesn't really... do, that often. Sam might hate that he's making a choice but he does seem to understand that he is the one making it, whereas on Dean's part it so often feels like the choice is automatic -- of course he'll do what John says, of course he'll sell his soul, of course he'll... kiss some lady so the Qareen chases him instead. Now, are all those things tied to autonomy, too? Of course. But with Dean I feel like it's a bigger issue that his agency has been taken out at the knees ever since he was ~5 years old -- the autonomy problem is very much secondary.
Agency and autonomy are tied together and assaults on both happen relatively equally to both characters. What matters more is their attitudes about it, and their natures (whether they're essential or if they've been nurtured into acting a particular way). And, of course, there are different times in canon where these tendencies shift or even flip, e.g. in late s8 where Sam's certainty wobbles, or in s10 where Dean's autonomy w/r/t the Mark of Cain is really dicey.
Violated vs violable, victimized vs victim. A ton of it is in the eye of the beholder and OBVIOUSLY fandom will just sail off in its own directions any ol' way, depending on what shipping mood someone is in, how much projection is going on, what the phase of the moon is, etc. But generally speaking I find that Sam has a lot of agency in his life but often his autonomy is imperilled; Dean has a lot of autonomy but his agency is practically nil. At least for a while. What's nice is that Sam does have agency and he uses that agency to choose his own path in life, decide what he wants, and what he wants is -- a life with Dean. Dean maybe never really had a choice in the matter, but so what? He can stay in his bunker, and fight the monsters he needs to fight, and -- lucky for him, there's a strong hand covering his left side. What more could a cat ask for.
#answers#spn meta#i imagine people will hate on this but fuck it#people who don't respect sam's agency: miss me#or whatever it is the kids say#people who think dean can make up his own mind: lol#where were you when uhh all of the backstory happened#now obv it's all very nuanced and complicated but like#why are you doing the trauma olympics#it all sucks. they choose to deal with it and live.#hallelujah

i'm gonna yap about Morbid Minds once again because i can but I just wanna talk about the themes and what I talk about in the story because it may be interesting idk
writing actual people and real life shit
what i try to keep in mind when writing the story is that I want to tell a realistic story about a bunch of weird teens and I will absolutly not shy away from every details that may be seen as taboo or too much
because i feel like we've seen a way too polished version of story about teens like come on, nobody is perfect let them be actual loser, let them say stupid shit, learn from it and do better, let's them be absolute weirdo and get smacked for it, god have you seen high school dudes, they're like fucking menace and they say weird shit all the time, why not show that
plus it's funnier to write character who will say and do unhinged things, why do fantasy writers get a pass in writing morally gray characters but suddenly it looks weird when you do it in contemporary fiction (yeah, i know it hit closer to home and you have to be more careful with what you write, but let's make story about weird people in modern days too you know)
putting outcast on the spotlight (and the neurodivergent experience)
and then there's the obvious reason why I called the story "morbid minds", the fact that I chose to write about character like Marco who are troubled teen, the kind that you wouldn't want to meet in real life, the kid teacher don't want to deal with because they think he's a lost cause
basically the abused victim nobody care about because they're not reacting the "appropriate" way for a victim, the kind that is actually violent and gets into fight, and I feel like people with bad coping mechanism and with a "difficult" personality are either not represented or demonized for having these emotions and not knowing how to deal with them, how about we gave those people a story that treat them with humanity for once
Marco isn't your typical main character because he's basically a bitch and a weirdo, there's a reason why people think he's a school shooter lol some of you guys would probably call him that too if you went to school with him (because we're all capable of being bullies in some ways) but I feel like this makes it more interesting to follow, I mean, people want flawed characters right ? so here you go, have a weirdo who likes guns and beating up people, who can't communicate or hate himself so much he thinks he's not worth loving, have that guy who stalks girls before getting hit with being bisexual and not knowing how to process that information while dealing with toxic masculinity, i mean you get the gist
also, my story relies a lot on neurodivergent and queer experience for example Marco has ADHD but the most notable one are Tristan and Tyler who are autistics
and again, even if we're getting more autistic rep (finally) we're still a long way from the variety of autism experience, that's why I chose to gave some space for my weird autistic and their weirdass special interest lol Tristan often forget that he exists and has a special interest on school shooting, the movie Elephant and had a huge horror phase (creepypasta, horror movies, gore) like of course he sounds more sane than Marco but that's mostly because he went through shit and had to be the bigger person in his own life or else everything would have fell apart, but he's very much as strange as Marco, he's the one that stayed with him after all
Tyler got the actual offputting autism, the one that makes you stare at people with a straight face, the one where people are scared of you because you never smile (but it's just your normal face) he's pretty blunt in all the wrong ways, doesn't social properly and never say the right thing at the right time, he has no shame when he's with people he trusts and can often break boundaries if no one tell him exactly what he's not supposed to do
and all those experience matter to me as a writer because they're all under represented in media because there's really not a lot of neurodivergent stories lol (and also it matters to me as i am also a weird autistic guy, i'm not pulling all of this out of nowhere, i share a lot of traits with Tristan and Tyler, hell even if Marco is the opposite of me he still react a lot like a part of myself that would probably be more unhinged if I wasn't just Tristan IRL)
related to the first point, talking about sex but not in a weird way
this may sounds weird as fuck but it's actually really not, i'm aware i'm writing a bunch of high schoolers but that's also the thing, if you've been in school then you cannot tell me you've never heard guys talk about sex, where are you from, another planet ? because i've seen shit in middle school when i was in 8th grade, and god this was a lot (guys in my friends group talking about hentai, i mean you know those things)
so that's why it's related to the first point, writing real life without filter, but what does that mean exactly ? well apart from not censoring problematic shit a 15 yo guy could say (and boy can a 15 say a lot of bullshit), there's also the fucking fact that Marco who is the main character is a porn addict like i can't just put it under the rug, he has problems with masculinity that leads to sexism and then he also watch porn to fill the void because he has depression, that's like, pretty basic experience actually, you don't know how many people fill the void with sex and stuff like that
when i say all this, it's not to be all weird, i'm ace and I think sex is stupid and everyone makes a huge deal about, so I decided hell, i'm gonna talk about it because it's just,,,, a pretty normal thing most people do, it's not a big deal, some people do that, some people don't, who cares, I think we should have less taboo about it just so people can communicate better, that's what i'm trying to do when i talk about sex in the story
it's just an open conversation between the characters, mostly about putting limits, the characters do get frisky here and there but it's never described, what i do is write the dumb shit it may ensure tho, again, because shit happens, you'll get cum on your shirt and here, you go a funny scene about dumb characters and they get a good laugh about it (and it's both a funny scene and a sweet scene in some ways), i mean it's that easy, idk if i'm clear when i'm rambling about my thoughts process there ?? it's just, man people do that and it's not perfect, let's at least talk about it so people feel less embarrassed about it
i'm improvising everything there, sorry if it sounds messy, but i wanna get back to the putting boundaries stuff, because i feel like it's important to show characters that are both talking about it and also being like "hey let's just wait you know" or stuff like that, it's so simple and i don't think we should make a big deal about it, it's just life and i'm putting it in my story, truly that's how i view it, even if the characters suck at communication they can't just do shit without asking and since they're all awkward about it they just need to fucking talk about it even if it's embarrassing and they don't even know what to say
anyway, let's not make a bif deal about sex, it's just sex, it's gonna happen sometimes, teens have sex, it happens, they just need to be able to talk about it or else it will lead to bad decision making and we don't want that in both the real world and in a story
i feel like i'm forgetting a lot here fuck, if I think of anything else i'll probably update it but I think that's already a big chunk of what i think is important about Morbid Minds and why I like writing it so much
#my ocs#morbid minds#writing#my writing#original writing#my story#original character#original story#ramblings#yapping even#god did i talk a lot there#i'm sorry i came back from college i'm like a deflated balloon#tell me if some stuff are unclear#i really don't want anything to get misinterpreted because i can't talk for the life of me

AITA for telling a bunch of pricks to quit the fandom?
Most of you here hate Kpop and its fans but I'm still sending it because many of you are friends with people like them for other reasons, I know this for a fact. So ignore I suppose.
I'm Asian, I was mutuals with some Americans and one European fan from other fandoms, they all became very casual Kpop fans relatively recently and they do all this:
• Pick fights with fans of western artists for small things nobody really cares about, using fandom and the Faves as shield, which gets them to send hate to our faves who we know have dealt with a lot of cyberbullying for years.
Kpop fans all get conscious about mental health and cyberbullying for about an hour when something bad happens, but don't stop doing it and say that specifically our faves are "too sensitive and selling their trauma" which is another thing, I digress.
• Laugh at jokes made my antis cuz it's not serious, often these jokes are racist and dehumanizing but normal to them.
• Laugh with their mutuals from other fandoms when they make jokes based on rumours, like one time they thought it was funny that one of the Faves got called p*dophile by antis just bcs he's a man who likes kids and is playful with kids he meets, only women can like kids unproblematically apparently.
• Play "devil's advocate" when bigger accounts or inflencers talk shit about the Faves, most of the time it's biased hateful nonsense but to them supporting it is a sign of being mature fans who can take criticism.
They do this all the time, genuine love for an artist is beneath them, kpop is beneath them it's not Ackshually Art no since Koreans also don't take it seriously?! It's just that the bragging opportunities and clout is good around here!
• Act like SJWs most of the time but constantly make microaggressive comments about Korean people in their private chats, joke about mandatory military service, call themselves misandrists yet judge the women in Kpop like they're dolls, get into discourse they have no clue about and give their shitty takes, tell everyone else they don't know Anything about kpop but still partake in these fanwars and discourses, bring the worst takes from twitter to tumblr out of context for laughs, judge Every Single Thing thru American/ western lens and expect us all to know their double entendre and culture etc.
I got fed up, nobody else says anything to their face because they can spin it to make it like us Mainly Kpop fans are rabid obsessive weirdos who care too much about strangers and they're rational mature women of varying refined taste who merely observe kpop from a healthy distance. And I told them to stop being in the fandom if they're gonna be everything but fans. You tell me how all that is fan behavior? They call themselves fans but oh they're too busy adulting to even listen to a 5 year old album, not busy when it is about trashtalking their own faves and fandom, okay!
But apparently I was too rude, the audacity of me to call leftist wocs racist! I cannot tell them what they can or cannot do! So here we are.
What are these acronyms?

any lackadaisy character of your choosing, with a gn! reader who’s in a long-distance relationship with them? (correspondence being via letters, given the time period.)
a/n : I really like this idea!! Very soft, and can lovable! AGHH♡♡ anyways time for some brainrot ( •̀ᴗ•́ )و ̑̑
☆☆☆
content : fluff/Romance , a little silly
content warning : none
"You have mail again!" Ivy shoited
The sound of shoes clacking on the floor echoing in the lackadaisy could be heard, sounded as if they'd been running a 20 mile marathon.
"I'M HERE! I'M HERE!" Rocky screeched with a breathless voice from how fast he was running.
Ivy rolls her eyes and hands him the envelope and box gently.
"Here you go, loverboy." She says walking away to give Viktor his mail as well.
Rocky squeals as he excitedly takes it from her grasp. He knows who it's from, "AAA!! It's from them!!" He shouts into poor freckles ears.
"From who?" Freckles wonders as to who might be sending his cousin mail.
"Reader!" He says as if Freckle is supposed to know.
Freckle looks at him wondering (who??) Shaking it off because cousin about to go on about who you were anyway.
"Reader, my one and only, the one who gets me, who compliments me." He says poetically, "I met them when they were passing through here for work!"
"Well technically they were meeting up with family at the time of our first meeting but that's not really important now is it?" He quickly whispers to himself.
"I won't bore you with the details but," he sighs lovingly; "reader just gets me."
Going back to the letter, he reads;
" Dear Rocky,
Hi my love! I've sent this letter to inform you that I've made you something real special! I hope you love it, asides from that I just wanted to let you know how my week has gone! ..- "
(you go on about how it went; good or bad, he enjoys reading every detail about it. Agreeing with you if you talked bad about someone or something, feeling happy for you if something went your way!)
When he finished it, he reread the first sentence remembering the gift you made him. Feeling all giddy like a child opening Christmas presents, he rips open the box with full force.
Its a hand-sewn gift! A blanket to keep him warm, and a few snacks from where you're from. He jumps up excited and on a sing-song tone he says,
"My lover gave me a blanket, a blanket!"
"Thats actuallya really nice blanket," Ivy compliments the gift.
"Why thank you ivy!" He says genuinely. "Now I've gotta go!" Shouting running out the door, slamming it in the process.
Running back he pops his in through the door and says, "actually, any of you guys got paper and pen?"
He's writing about 3 pages about how he's been; ofcourse he'd write more if he could but the poor envelope doesn't have enough room for it.
☆☆☆
A week later, he gets a reply from you! He's jumping up and down; screeching, shrieking, and screaming at the top of his lungs, Ivy stops him.
"WHAT IS GOING ON." Shaking some sense into him.
Taking a deep breath in, he tells her that you're coming for a week because of work! He's giggling and kicking his feet, sitting upside-down rereading your letter.
Giggling he tells Ivy, "They said that they're gonna take me out for a date! After they've done what they came for of course."
☆☆☆
He sees you across the street waiting for the pass to walk. You spot him as well giving him a big ol' smile and giggling to yourself quietly when he waves and shouts, "READER! READER!"
Running across the street, carefully making it past everyone trying hard as to not knock anyone over. Rocky runs to you with his arms wide open like a big bird and tackles you to the floor.
Looking like two weirdos you say, "Rocky! I'm so glad to see you again," smiling with a smitten look in your eyes.
He gives you a bunch of kisses scattered on your face and tells you how much he's excited to see you again, holding you in his arms.
Getting up because of the amount of people looking at you guys, you two walk off to have an amazing date. Talking eachothers ears off; eating pancakes for dinner, and walking the empty streets late at night.
☆☆☆
Walking you back to the train station he gives you a great big hug; Staying like that for what feels like ages.
"Oh reader..-" he says quietly with tears threatening his eyes. "-..how I'm going to miss u so."
You slightly chuckle at what he said, he sounded a little silly.
"What? Was it not the right moment?" he asks.
"No no no, you just said something a little silly." You tell him,"it just sounded out of character that all."
(Not that it did, he just said it in a deep and broody voice that made it sound like a really bad impression of an actual deep and broody voice)
"oh okay.." he turns around to sob jokingly,"I get it, you don't have to tell me anything more."
Before he runs off dramatically, you pull him in to give him a gentle kiss to the lips. He melts into the kiss, putting his face into your hand to rest. He thinks to himself, (God I really do love them..)
Slowly parting away, you give him one final hug before the final horn for you to get on you train blows. You shout your final goodbyes to eachother and go your separate ways.
You hum to yourself looking out the window, (I wonder what I'll write him once I get back home..)
Looking down into your pocket, you find a folded price of paper. It's from rocky! You smile to yourself wondering what he wrote this time.

Whichever of your ocs, whatever you want to talk about please ? 👀
I'm gonna talk about my girl Ripper :3
I decided to make Yautja canon in Star Wars because really at this point who can stop me? I'm the sort of disrespectful to canon that you usually only see talked about in whispers at church.
My girl Ripper is 7'4" and gets her name from her fingernails which are filed into pointy claws. You can guess what she does with them.
She has a clone boyfriend, an OC of mine named Carno. He's a freak and violent (affectionate, we love a man who get horny over being able to draw blood).
She considers him a delightful little pastime. And then she realises that he likes hunting people and being a bloody weirdo and decides that they're going to start dating. As soon as he realises that she also likes hunting people and being a bloody weirdo, they make out about it. In a deeply abnormal way that involves potentially too much biting.
She's also very smart and knows everything there is to know about weapon and ship technology. She teaches him a bunch of things that he never would have learned from the GAR and he enjoys being able to have free run of her hunting/scout ship. It makes him feel short since everything is scaled to her height but he's still enjoying himself.
She sneaks him offworld to go on hunting trips and finds it very funny how her little man is so good at hunting when he's so short and only has those normal armour and weapons. She has plans to get him outfitted in a proper set of armour and weapons and a biomask. She thinks he'll look hot and she's right <3
I love characters who seem one-dimensional (violent road trip hunter) but turn out to be layered (tech genius, tactical smarts, advanced pilot, knowledge equivalent to a wildlife biologist) but are also very much what they originally seem to be (violent road trip hunter). Love her for that <3
