"natto... tsuna ikura shouyu... okome" he struggles to find his words, pointing at her, determination obvious on his face. "okome natto, ikura okome" tears unwillingly come to sayaka's eyes in shock and happiness, but toge thinks she dosent understand and starts to panic. "okaka! okaka! natto okome! okome!" he gestures wildly, making her giggle through her tears.

"toge... i'm so happy you feel the same way" wiping away the tears that fell, toge sighs in relief making her giggle even more. "you're so silly kiki" without anymore words he steps closer to her, intent clear in his actions. he believes she'll understand, after all she always was the best at understanding him. her hands come up to rest on his shoulders, his own at her waist, holding it so delicately. she moves to cup his cheek, caressing it softly, as she nods her assent. not wanting to wait anymore he pulls down his sweater and eagerly presses his lips to hers. she jumps at the sudden action making toge chuckle against her lips, a smile growing on her own as their eyes fall closed. his thumbs begin to rub soothing circles on her hips as he presses closer to her, lips moving excitedly. her free hand begins to play with the hair at the back of his neck making him shiver at the feeling. she never wants this feeling to end, the sea of calm she seems to have fallen into to, floating further and further out to the depths, unsure if she even wants to be saved. his hand slides fully around her waist to hold her to him and she decides that, no, she doesn't want to be saved, she would rather drown out here then be pulled out to cough and sputter and try to survive without the water that is currently giving her life. hesitantly she pulls away, unable to stop herself as she peppers sticky sweet kisses across his cheek. they're breathing heavily as they make eye contact, unable to hold back the laughter at their energetic actions. she buries her face in his shoulder and they hold eachother tight, just basking in eachothers love for just a moment, later they would deal with all the emotions and deep discussions, but right now, during this perfect moment, all they need is this. smiling to herself sayaka can't help but feel giddy, squeezing toge until he grunts at the pressure that's forcing all the air out his lungs.

"natto okaka-" the moment broken, he squrims trying to escape her embrace. laughing she tightens her grip, fervently pressing more feather light kisses against his cheeks making him laugh at the ticklish feeling, resulting in sayaka doubling down just to hear more of his laughter.

andy: tbh id love to see her relationship w achilles acknowledged beyond the portrait nile spots in the cave. i feel like the addition of that relationship rlly kind of exemplifies how much andy has loved & lost over the years and how lonely she was before she found the other immortals, as well as drive home the point that... while seeking relationships w mortals is an option for the squad.... its really setting yourself up for heartbreak and is mayhaps a bad idea. it really intensifies their relationships with each other in that this is the only way they can really permanently interact with other people

additionally, with the romance nile’s prolly going to get in the sequel, id loooooooove to see andy telling nile about achilles in the context of romance, as a little mentor/student thing, maybe warning her off a little

nile: id love to see more of nile’s relationship w christianity and how that may change w/ immortality. thats kind of more of a broad thing but i find the whole religion + immortality thing fascinating. and along that vein,

joenicky: tbh id really love to know if joe and nicky are married, and this is kind of a greg question more than something to be rlly addressed in the sequel, but personally i dont really see nicky and joe as viewing their relationship as anything like a marriage and i dont really see them having an desire to get married in the modern context of marriage. even if i do think ‘marriage’ is p much the closest concept we have to what joe and nicky are and its accurate for us to call it marriage, i dont think they view themselves as married. as much as I, Too, Gayly Yearn For Marriage, i just really like the idea of marriage, The Greatest Form Of Romantic Commitment Humanity Has, being this frivolous little pointless thing to them. like a couple thats been together for 60 years getting promise rings- maybe charming in its own right, but also kind of silly and pointless. im basically just talking about headcanons now, moving on.

What is the one thing that you always look for in a romance book (aside from good plot, that is)? It doesn’t necessarily mean you won’t read the book if it doesn’t have that thing you look for, but you just swoon more if it’s in there. Mine is witty banter between the mains before they fall in love. I LOVE it when it’s established that they’re intellectually equal & can keep up with eachother’s wit, bonus when they interject a flirt somewhere in their banter. Without it, if the book

is well-written, then I’ll like it too, but I definitely prefer a bit of witty flirting in there (one reason why The Ruin of a Rake is my fave in The Turner series)

This is such a good question!!!!!!!!!! I adore some good banter that shows us how the characters feel about each other, or that they even have chemistry. I agree with you on Ruin of a Rake, that banter was absolutely top-notch and I love those two idiots the most :’D (and definitely not because I too am a Julian NUH UH)

I also love giggly sex scenes!!! Like I’m generally so uncomfortable with sex in media and mostly just really bored with sex in books, so whenever a book has a really charming/giggly sex?? That book owns my soul ngl. For example Wanted, a Gentleman or The Love Song of Sawyer Bell. Those have magnificently hilarious sex scenes without them being like a comedy?? Yes that’s what I enjoy.

I also need for the characters to have friends, or alternatively if they’re all alone, I want to know why. I need the characters to have a sense of community and for characters who don’t to be affected by that. So often in mediocre romances the characters dont exist outside of the romance and that’s so so boring. JLH’s or KJ’s books have amazing character communities with friends and families.

And again, I love humor in books. It doesnt have to be a comedy, but I can’t stand books that are 10000000% serious. I like serious books, but please, crack a joke sometimes. Price of Meat is a short story about cannibalism and I still laughed at some great jokes.

Also a thing I love is character crossovers in series with multiple protags. I loooooooove previous protags being a part of the story, aka Hexslayer.

One of my favourite tropes is enemies to lovers, except not in the traditional sense but in an annoyances-to-lovers. The characters cant STAND each other and the other one is SO ANNOYING so WHY DO THEY WANT TO KISS. Think Unnatural Vice or, again, Ruin of a Rake. I still laugh whenever Nathaniel goes “UGH lazarus is SO AWFUL and I HATE HIM and Im SO GAY and I wanna MAKE OUT WITH HIM” or Julian going “Yes I hate Courtenay bcs he’s insufferable and he teases me and also I really really want to make out with him DAMMIT WHY IS HE SO HOT IT’S UNFAIR”

Also charaters actually getting annoyed with how hot the other is is MY JAM YES PLEASE MORE
