so! with a starless clan finishing up in november and a new arc on the way after that, what are your guys' predictions for the next arc...

for context, and sorry to burst everyone's bubble, but the next arc will Most Likely not be following any relatives or kin of the asc cast (ive seen people suggest one of frostpaw's siblings or splashtail's younger siblings as possible protags)

from an article on the warrior cats website (under the title "GOAL: TO CONTINUE TO DEVELOP THE NINTH ARC") the authors state that the main character of the ninth arc "will be an old friend whose adventures we’ve been following since the very first WARRIORS arc."

and while that's really all the information we have so far (probably not nearly enough to theorize on, but i dont really care) im just curious to see what ppl think now

especially since theres been an uprising of ppl. well. theorizing what the 9th arc will be and, like i said earlier, questioning what cats from this arc will go on to be protagonists, like frostpaw's siblings or leafkit from windclan or even whistlepaw... i just thoguht id post this to see if anyone's got any ideas or theories or whatever. again theres not much to work on but still! im curious!

there's also another article that states, under the question "Will future books take place in unexplored eras of the series?", "(...)There are still great chunks of time between our DAWN OF THE CLANS prequel/origin series and the beginning of INTO THE WILD that are yet to be explored, and we are certainly excited by the possibility of exploring these times, filling in these gaps. We believe it could be a thrilling new chapter in the WARRIOR CATS mythology. The key consideration for the story team will be the question of whether readers will readily invest in our hypothetical protagonists, being cats to whom they have yet to form an attachment (assuming these stories focus on cats who have never been mentioned before)? [Then again, we had the same concerns about the DAWN OF THE CLANS series!] But as long as the story team remains excited about the possibilities, it will hopefully not be too long before readers get their wish…"

so! pretty good chance the next arc wont be about anyone from asc at all. but honestly i couldnt even tell you who it would be about bc we have no concrete evidence of anything besides where the story takes place...

What's your suffix list for your WCAU?

Oh lord I didn’t see this till now, I’m so sorry!

But basic idea is to use the @ailuronymy suffix list, but to expand upon it.

Such as using -belly for a jovial cat, -throat for a well spoken cat (or charismatic?), -pool for a notable intelligent cat (typically rare for the cats) and so on. Maybe even -brook, -tooth, or -poppy, but I’d probably use that for an alternative to -stream, -fang and -flower unless I can maybe find a way to use them otherwise.

Like maybe a -poppy cat is more interested in the rearing and tending to their own kits? Or perhaps they are ones who are more interested in teaching apprentices? Or maybe even another option is they’re knowledgable in burial customs since poppies are apparently a symbol for soldiers who passed away in war. Just some ideas for that specific suffix

Of course some will be added in to fleshen things out. Especially since we got the tunnelers in WindClan and now SkyClan.

But for now the ones mentioned above (-belly, -throat, and -pool) are confirmed for personality/skill suffixes. I am of course adding -patch, -speck(s/le), -spot(s), -dapple, and other pattern suffixes cause some of them are cute and tbh I’m attached to the name Leafdapple. And maybe gonna try and find a use for -brook, -tooth, and -poppy, and see about finding some more suffixes for others things to use for the AU at hand

#caged answers #suffix talk #but -tooth may be made into just some weird naming scheme or maybe just a mean nickname perhaps #basically I do want to use as many as the first arc #since a lot of em you can theoretically make them have meaning #it’s just some of em it’s… harder since it could mean the same thing as that other suffix. unless you do certain clans use one or the other #and of course with certain roles such as tunnelers being a thing and SkyClan being there I’d like to have more for them #since SkyClans whole thing is specializing in tree hunting so I’d imagine they’d have a suffix for climbing of course #and I do want a suffix for taking in interest in teaching apprentices so there’s that too #but yeah a work in progress for sure!#but I do have a “yes this is in ther list and a im figuring it out list and then a list of things I want a suffix for!#so about three lists 8u8 #also funnily enough the cat with the -poppy suffix Id probably not even give the that suffix to. its tallpoppy and I’d probably do -cloud #quick edit- tooth could be used for storytellers perhaps?#it don’t roll off the tongue or click in my head as exactly right but it’s the closest thing for a unique thing for that specific suffix
