Plans for today are.... no plans. I'm cuddled up on the couch with my duvet and my laptop. My book and some snacks.

I'm really trying to get out of this mindset that I have to be super "productive" on my time off. Trying to end the year relaxed and reset. At the same time, I haven't left the house (except to walk the dog) since Thursday, so I should probably at least go get a few groceries.

But then again!!!! Maybe not. Maybe I should make soup. Use up my leftover veg.

Ok pal, tell me about those OC’s of yours.

OHOHOHO WELL NOW THAT I HAVE AN EXCUSE.....

Buckle in because this will be a long one

For context; they are all set in a fictional world I made set in a classic medieval fantasy type setting but with my own spin on a magic system and diff govts etc.

So I'll start with the ones who have gotten the most attention over the years, Rose and Atlas (yes my user is based on them, the names are funky due to a cultural thing I can't get into right now bc I will have to write two essays instead of one if I got into all of that)

Atlas and Rose were adopted siblings from a small northern seaside town. Atlas was adopted first when he was very young and was taught how to sail and fish from his parents. His parents were retired map makers who sailed the southern oceans to map out the thousands of islands there. But now that they were stuck in one place for so long they felt suffocated by the responsibility and lack of travel. So they began to make small one month trips alone once or twice a year while Atlas was being watched by his aunt. They quickly exhausted all of the places one can go in a months travel, so they extended it to two months, then three. Until Atlas was an early teen who rarely saw his parents. During this time his aunt was teaching him how to cook and take care of the house.

Then one day, his parents came home with a young child, Rose, who was only a few years old. They had stayed for nearly three years before craving adventure again. But this time their aunt had something to say. There was a long drawn out argument that led to the aunt feeling abandoned by her own sister (Rose and Atlas' mother). They left and the aunt didn't take it well, having a hard time raising two children by herself with only a fishing job. Atlas began to teach himself carpentry and woodworking to help with the money. As time went on Atlas began to realize that his parents weren't going to be seen again and stepped up to help raise Rose and take care of his aunt, who had just gotten a serious leg injury.

Because of the injury and the serious stress he was now under, he turned to magic to try to heal his aunt. In this time, magic was a very taboo practice due to the heightening tensions between the humans and magical creatures in the east (including fae). Sadly, all he could find were half burned journals on elemental magic. But even so, he began to teach himself in secret along with all of this other stuff hanging in the balance.

When Rose was a late teen and Atlas was nearly thirty, they had an argument. Atlas was being overprotective and secretive over what he did and Rose was sick of it. Using the argument over him keeping secrets as an excuse to talk to him about how he would refuse to let her help out with the responsibilities around the house. Rose stating that if their parents didn't leave that he wouldn't be pike this. Atlas claimed that knowing that didn't change anything and that they weren't coming back so what was the point of playing 'what if?' Rose stole some of Atlas' money in front of him and walked out.

Thinking she just needed to cool off for a bit, he went to his room to cool down as well. But when she wasn't home when the sun went down, he went to town to look for her. After a bit of asking he found out that she had stolen a skiff and had begun to sail west.

He panicked and immediately returned home to pack a bag and rented a small boat to sail after her, after all he knew where she had probably gone.

Rose wasn't the best sailor, because of Atlas' insistence that she didn't need to do hard work and that she should just be learning how to do everything around the house first, like he did. So when she was caught in a storm she didn't know what to do and was tossed around the ship in the winds. Finally hitting her head against the side of the ship and passing out.

When she woke up she discovered that she and her boat and washed up on an island in the middle of the ocean. Three humanoid sea monsters inhabited said island, Vivian being based on a sea serpent, Moon being based on a jellyfish, and Sam being based on a siren. She had gotten a very serious head injury that would have eventually lead to her death if Vivian, who knew healing magic, hadn't helped. The three had told her that they would fix her ship for her if they got to sail with her to The Seven Kingdoms (where Rose's parents are presumed to be). She agrees and after a few days they begin to sail there.

Atlas' trip to The Seven Kingdoms was a lot easier for him, he was a talented navigator and sailor by this time and was lucky enough to not be faced with any major storms in his path because even though the route Rose had taken was shorter, he knew it was almost constantly assaulted by severe storms and had opted to take a slightly longer way, assuming Rose had done the same.

They both made it the The Seven Kingdoms at around the same time to fin that their Parents had stayed there for the past few years after getting a well paying job as advisors to people who went on long distance trading trips across the world. In a fit of rage, Rose had convinced the three sea monsters to terrorize the boats that their parents had advised. Letting them return only to tell people not to listen because they sent the ships directly into monster territory.

Then Rose asked her parents to return home with her and Atlas. Which they refused quickly, claiming that Rose and Atlas had grown up well and didn't need them anymore so they were free to travel. Atlas, knowing this would happen, rented a place for them to stay for a while and looked for work. It took only a week of this for Rose to grow stir crazy. Atlas suggested that she get a job in something she enjoyed. She considered this for a few days before she heard stories of pirated that had raided some trade ships from The Seven Kingdoms' ports. She realized that she could do that, become a pirate, and became obsessed with the idea. She could use that to also help save hybrids like Moon or Vivian from villages that casted them out (rising tensions between magical creatures and humans cause many villages to ostracize or even harm hybrids or any other magical creature).

While Rose, Vivian, Moon, and Sam planned out how they would do this over the next two and a half years, Atlas had made an entire life for himself, making friends, getting a stable job, and even gaining a partner.

When Rose turned 21, she proposed the idea to Atlas. He immediately turned it down, warning her of the dangers and all of the trouble it could bring. But she was going either way, over the years her and her friends had saved up enough to buy a new boat and weapons and food and everything they would need. When Atlas refused a second time, Rose had decided to tell Jim about her near death experience, using his gear of her being hurt like that to convince him to join her on this.

The next day they were sailing away, Atlas had locked himself in his quarters below deck as soon as he could.

For a while there was a routine; visit a new village, collect the magical creatures that had been ostracized or harmed, maybe steal from the town to tech them a lesson, and relocate the people to somewhere safe.

But then they came upon a village who was having land disputes with fae, leading to battles with them. The crew saw the borderline torture subjected to fae and other beings that had nothing to do with this and grew angry. Burning down the village before they left.

Then a new step was added to the routine, before leaving the village, stuff will be damaged, be it ships, fields, houses, or people.

Atlas, who had simply waited these ventures out before, had started to desperately talk Rose out of doing these things, not every village was like the one from before, he would say. But the comments would slide off of her.

So while she would burn down the villages, he would quietly sneak off the boat to help people escape, using what little he knew about elemental magic to put out fires on peoples houses or making ice to cool the burns on their skin before running back below deck before she would notice. Using magic slowly becoming more accepted in areas in the west because of him using of to safe people so often. To the point of it- in some areas- becoming studied broadly.

When nearly a year later, Vivian found out about this, he had kept it a secret from Rose. Vivian didn't agree with Roses methods completely, so while he didn't help Atlas safe people, he didn't out him either.

Though, Rose did find out eventually, sparking an argument that lasted several days and ended with Atlas being dropped off back at The Seven Kingdoms.

Atlas got back with his partner and friends, but with so many bad memories associated with The Kingdoms, he convinced his partner to move north with him. They ended up in the islands of Reshyr, mostly comprised of small villages on the northwest. He found that they had been one of the villages Rose had used to stock up on food at, staying on some barrier islands for several days. While she was doing that he had helped many people rebuild on the main isle. They had been people who saw what he did with magic and now studied it, making friends with neighboring fae to learn as much as they could. So when they saw him they welcomed him, showing Atlas what they had done. They gave him and his partner a home and asked him all about magic. After he shared all he knew, he offered to help them learn together.

For a while the town learned and learned as much as they could, implementing schools to teach children magic as well. When Rose eventually found out about this, she visited, not to burn down the village, luckily. But to ask Atlas to join her again. She was planning on trying to reap the benefits she could from a war in the east between humans and fae that had just started. And with her crew ever expanding she knew she could get a lot. Atlas refused firmly, not letting her try to guilt trip him again. She begged for a few more days before leaving.

Now, Atlas is leading the people of Reshyr in studying magic and even was able to (with insane amounts of help) convince The Seven Kingdoms (considered the richest collection of countries) to begin making extravagant schools for learning specific types of magic. Rose visits every do often to ask him to join her crew but Atlas is happy here.

There is so much more than just these two but it is getting late and I doubt you want to read much mor about my little brain guys.

a fucking rant. tw: suicidal thoughts

i remember last night i thought. what if i just restart my life? only tell umbrella, fake my death, and move away to some new state. just get away from this goddamn place, get a new family, start fresh. basically kill myself but only here in this town. and also get a new # and cut everyone else off. maybe, this is more in my grasp, but i actually tell my parents i need a week or two away from them and everyone, and maybe i can have bubble take me in for a bit. they may be more willing, since in the past theyve helped w school mornings bc both parents had work early, so they just dropped me n my sis off at bubble's and they helped us get completely ready and drive us to school. maybe they can help…that's what i thought at least. so bubble said she couldnt bc her parents r already having a little trouble taking care of her and her siblings, so then i asked another friend (for future ref ima call herr ummmmm bead. like a bracelet bead) and she said not a week, her mom couldnt do that, BUT for a night or 2. we agreed for 2 nights in abt a week and we're both gonna talk to our moms abt it. and i asked umbrella as the last resort for the remaining week or so, since she seems like a safe option. "At most, my mom would say two or three nights but it def prob wont be a week. Bc my mom is also not doing the best with money. But i mean, it might work out if u give my mom a good enough reason" was umbrella's response. or at this rate i can just…actually idk. idk what i can do if this doesn't work out. i need at least a week and a half out of this house and isolated from my family and most my friends or i'll prob kms. but, i honestly should've expected this, i can't have a week. i can ask yet another willing friend, but that'll be hopping to like 3 diff houses in a week. at this rate i'll just run away and camp in the goddamn woods or som' idfk. but i do really appreciate all the help i can get. i just…i'm fucking lost. im lost in a state of barely keeping myself alive and needing to isolate and take a huge break from everyone but i cant…im getting help from dear friends, but its not quite enough…i need help but i cant get it. i dont fucking know what to do. im barely holding on by the threads here.

IS YOUR CHARACTER POPULAR IN THE FANDOM?   YES / NO. Well, he is the main character of the show, but seeing as there’s only me & @legcndreportr that write character from the show, I’d say, the RP fandom for it is tiny, but I think a lot of people that watch dramas like the show & the characters.

IS YOUR CHARACTER CONSIDERED HOT™ IN THE FANDOM?   YES / NO / IDK. [ I mean, he’s played by Ji Chang Wook, I mean, obviously yes. Have you seen just how many fan JCW blogs there are on this site? Understandable. Honestly, and truly.  ]

IS YOUR CHARACTER CONSIDERED STRONG IN THE FANDOM?   YES / NO / IDK. [ I’d say he’s very skilled & flawed. There are many things that he can do, many things that he is good at, but the slew of both traumatic and just plain shitty things that had happened to him over the early years of his childhood, combined with HUGE abandonment issues that he has never really dealt with. All of that can make certain mundane things a lot harder than any 007 stuff that he sometimes does. ]

ARE THEY UNDERRATED?   YES / NO / IDK. [ I think, even though I love the character, obv been RPing him for years. I hate that people don’t STAN the other characters as much, especially the other main female characters that are just as interesting, complex and worth loving. But alas that is the world we live in. ]

WERE THEY RELEVANT FOR THE MAIN STORY?   YES / NO,he is the main story, if you know what I mean. But no, seriously, he is the main character. 

WERE THEY RELEVANT FOR THE MAIN CHARACTER?   YES / NO / THEY’RE THE PROTAG. [ Yeah, but tbh, I find it that in the show, the two main characters are equally sorted in the first place, Jung-hoo is nothing without Young-shin. There would be no development, no revelation about his life, childhood and interesting complex storytelling and showing without her.  ]

ARE THEY WIDELY KNOWN IN THEIR WORLD?   YES / NO. [ One would assume that I should put YES for this, buuuut, while HEALER is known to the criminal underbelly, police and those that would want or need to hire someone like him, the general public has no idea. Which is exactly what he wants, because attention isn’t really a useful thing in his line of work, or just the way he lives his life.  ]

HOW’S THEIR REPUTATION?   GOOD / BAD / NEUTRAL. [ Good when it comes to how skilful he is, but bad as a person. His character arc really goes a looong way from where he is in episode 1. Like the first thing we see is him playing a tennis VR game, complaining that he can’t pick the character he is playing against to have less clothes (that being a computer-generated character but still), which isn’t really all that interesting and for sure not someone I’d be all into writing. And also his lack of care when it comes to what he does, like the guy he was protecting also in ep 1. Ends up dead, and he’s annoyed bc the police think he killed him, the fact that he’s dead, he couldn’t care less. ]

HOW STRICTLY DO YOU FOLLOW CANON?   —   I’ve been writing him for over two years, and it’s just no fun to just follow the canon. He has developed overtime on his own, and besides that, I just never really like any CANON fully. When it comes to the show, bc there are only 16 eps, and as with most dramas there is only one season. So I’ve taken the liberty to expand on the canon and to create Jung-hoo as I think he’d be, away from the scenes we can see him in.

SELL YOUR MUSE! Aka try to list everything, which makes your muse interesting in your opinion to make them spicy for your mutuals.   —   For me personally, I really found it interesting that the mother that abandoned him, married someone else and had a whole new family, after his father died. Jung-hoo cares for her, meets with her, gives her money etc. He doesn’t hate or resent her, I think that shows a lot of compassion but also emotional intelligence. He has this me vs the world outlook, way of life, mentally, however you want to call it, but is in desperate need for someone to SEE him. Like acknowledge his existence, to stay, to love him. He is incredibly skilled & capable, everything you’ve seen 007 do, he does it better. Also I’ve made sure to include diverse verses so there is a way to explore pretty much anything under the sun that you could think of.

Now the OPPOSITE, list everything why your muse could not be so interesting (even if you may not agree, what does the fandom perhaps think?).   —  I think he can’t really move past the whole I hate everyone & I need someone. So he goes back and forth, it is difficult to create a meaningful connection. I’ve been lucky to do that but that’s also bc I’ve written with some people here for years. 

WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO RP YOUR MUSE?   —   I had taken a few years break from RP, which used to be like one of my main interests, writing in general. And then I was getting into just watching Kdramas, watched HEALER, and I was instantly like I HAVE TO WRITE HIM, and never looked back really. 

WHAT KEEPS YOUR INSPIRATION GOING?   —   Auditory stimuli, be it music or just sounds. For example, when I write I tend to use programs or websites where you can put different sounds in the background like thunder, rain, wind, chatter etc. Watching yt clips, seeing people on my dash tbh, like people that I follow also inspire me bc they make me go I WANNA WRITE WITH ALL OF THEM.

DO YOU THINK YOU GIVE YOUR CHARACTER JUSTICE?   YES / NO / I SINCERELY HOPE I DO? [ I think I tend to have all of these feelings, sometimes I’m like, yeah, this is Jung-hoo, this is exactly what I wanted, sometimes I’m like who am I writing? But I just focus more on me enjoying writing him, than thinking if people think I write him as they think I should.]

DO YOU FREQUENTLY WRITE HEADCANONS?   YES / NO / SORT OF? [I have a bunch of headcanons about like the smallest of things, like the fact that I don’t think he likes wearing socks is one of them, but,  I don’t write them or post them on here. I’m not sure why, I guess I prefer to sort of just sprinkle them in the threads??? ]

DO YOU SOMETIMES WRITE DRABBLES?   YES / NO [ Kinda. I also write fanfiction & I had started this original one with sort of Jung-hoo in mind but not really him. I realized I really like writing starters, I think that’s probably like an unpopular opinion or way of thinking but I really enjoy starting the thread, and I kinda sometimes think starters are like drabbles, I’m not making sense. ]

DO YOU THINK A LOT ABOUT YOUR MUSE DURING THE DAY?   YES / NO

DO YOU ACCEPT CRITICISM WELL ABOUT YOUR PORTRAYAL?   —   Sure. I’m fine with that. I just think that the INTERNET does not know how to compute that, or people on the internet. It’s either, you can do no wrong or you should die a horrible death. It’s like either STAN or HATE. And it’s also somehow part of the rp community here on Tumblr. Where there’s just either fake praise or just unnecessary hate. And then there is a bit in the middle where like you can talk and exchange ideas and thoughts. But it is not the main focus by any means. If anyone wants to tell me to change something, or to do something diff, sure, let me hear you out, you might inspire me to improve. But that rarely happens. 

DO YOU LIKE QUESTIONS, WHICH HELP YOU TO EXPLORE YOUR CHARACTER?   — Of course, I think a lot of people are like this. Talking about my character gives me muse for the character. Like we could be talking how he’d eat a salad and I’d be like, okay now I have to write a novella about this other thing I’m inspired about. 

IF SOMEONE DISAGREES TO A HEADCANON OF YOURS, DO YOU WANT TO KNOW WHY?  —  That’s weird to me just bc I feel like when I read someones headcanon, this is how they, and them uniquely see the character, so I can’t really disagree with that, I can have an opinion for sure. But that’s like someone being I like this band, and you say, no you don’t, it just doesn’t make sense to me.

IF SOMEONE DISAGREES WITH YOUR PORTRAYAL, HOW WOULD YOU TAKE IT?   —  Same with the previous one. Like I often find blogs where they are writing a character that I either love from a show, move, book whatever, or it’s a canon type character that I find really interesting, like the idea behind it, but then I read their writing and then I go, aaaah okay nooo, no NO. And it’s never personal, it’s like, we ain’t gonna mesh, which is fine. And if someone is like that with my writing, fully understandable, just don’t be a dick about it, and we’ll be cool.

IF SOMEONE REALLY HATES YOUR CHARACTER, HOW DO YOU TAKE IT?  —  Couldn’t really give less of a shit really. RP to me is this little bubble where I am this fictional person that can do and try everything. It is in no way connected to any other aspect of actual reality or my life. The only connection is if I have to take a hiatus or smth, but like even if I write OOC things, it’s about IC stuff. I have other social medial for real life, this is just my RP bubble. So if someone is wasting their time hating a fictional character, they have bigger fish to fry. 

ARE YOU OKAY WITH PEOPLE POINTING OUT YOUR GRAMMATICAL ERRORS?   —   Sure, English isn't my first language so mistakes happen. If I see someone make a mistake and the write with me, I just change it when I reply to them, but I don’t point it out bc you never know, someone people could be okay cool thanks, and someone else could really feel down on themselves, which would be bad, and I wouldn’t want that to happen.

DO YOU THINK YOU ARE EASY GOING AS A MUN?  —  I’d like to think so, especially that I’m easy to approach and talk to. I don’t take many things seriously, not just on here but like in life. So I’m always open to any idea anyone might have. I’ve been lucky with the people that I’ve been following & those that have followed me, a huge percentage is just really dope people, nice to read their writing, nice to talk to, great to write with. And I hope that it stays that way, so we can also have this as some kind of mental break from life :)

The archive for the Creator Babble chat that occurred from February 15th, 2020 to February 21st, 2020.  The chat focused on the following question:

If a company wanted to publish your comic or adapt it for animation or games, how willing would you be to change the story if requested to do so?

That's such a tough question just because it's such a goal for so many creators, and yet a potential threat to their creativity in a sense. As always, it will depend on what exactly would be changed in order for such a project to be given approval. If it has to do with censoring LGBTQ+ content, changing race for 'marketability' purposes and the like, or erasing a specific topic integral to the plot with relation to politics- then it's a no go. There are plenty enough watered down media that doesn't stretch itself with diversity those companies can have and the subtext they pepper in to stay relevant, def something i find irksome with todays media (its 2020 guys !!) But if it's maybe cutting a chapter that acts like filler, or adding a character ( so long as it is plot relevant) i could take that into consideration! I actually take some time to imagine what Ghost Junk would be in a diff form of media and usually in those scenarios, things change to fit the way its being presented! A video game will differ more than an anime adaptation for sure, so long as the original intent and impact is kept, i would definitely consider some change!

If I ever had the opportunity to pass my work off to a whole other team for an adaptation, I think I would take great joy in leaving them completely to it - barring a few obvious issues like race changes, gender/sexuality changes, and... changing the entire story to the point where it's unrecognizable. I love seeing reinterpretations of my work, and I understand that every adaptation would need changes of some form. My words and art aren't gospel - I'm open to any change if it improves the whole product. Whatever it takes to translate the material in the best way, which keeps the original message intact, is all good by me.

Changes in the actual comic would be harder to make - and I'd be far less comfortable with them, to be honest - but I wouldn't fight them if they obviously made the story/characters stronger. I've already added in ideas and reorganized plot threads based on reader feedback - luckily the story still has some places where it can bend. So long as a publisher took my basic story seriously, and aimed to remold it rather than remake it - I'd be down for a discussion. Hopefully a reputable publisher would know how best to sell my work, and would aim to make it as good as possible while maintaining integrity - I would try to trust them

Comic stays mine, won‘t be changed beyound perhaps some professional line edits and polish. There’s a reason I didn’t shop it around as a graphic novel. I’d actually like that eitherway, would love to get myself a professional editor when I have the money. Adaptions can go nuts, provided the main characters stay true to their comic versions and the woman-loves-woman storyline stays in.

Holmeaa - working on WAYFINDERS

For the story to be told in another medium I would be pretty game for it to change the story a bit. Already now we are changing the story from how we made as a campaign. Makeing it more streamlined and more precise. I wanted originally that our comic could be a TV show. I come from a background of a character animator so that would make sense for me. So seeing it animated would be awesome! There would be some designs that needed to change to fit animation better.

Like Andree has this texture in his skin that needed to go away. But seeing it animated would be awesooome

I think if my Characters stay in Character, then I'm fine with changing pretty much any of the plot or world things. But the Character dynamics and who they are as people is what matters most to me, and I'm not sure I would be willing to sacrifice that. With some of my stories I'd be willing to completely let go of the reins, and with others I definitely want a tighter grip, too.

Agree with the thing about character dynamics. My stories always stem from the characters' relationships and how they evolve, so I'd like for the essence of that to stay. Otherwise I'm pretty loose about the plot itself. Because I have an education in game development, I would totally be down for my comic being adapted into a story driven game of some sort. I'd be okay with changing the story to favor the game mechanics, like putting certain magic abilities in the focus and turning certain scenes into gameplay (like when they're sneaking around or fighting). As long as my handful of core emotional moments come across, I'm pretty happy to change things.

I agree with the character dynamics too. I don't feel comfortable if they change the character backgrounds along with it as well for er what Krispy said for "Markability". That stuff won't fly with me. Comic stuff stay the same but for adaptations, I want to make sure it has similar story beats even if there's a change on few details. I’d be pretty willing to change stuff, actually. I’d want to be pretty involved in whatever adaptation was being made in this hypothetical, but I know that more people can make for stronger work. On the other hand, too many cooks can make for some pretty watered down soup, which is why I’d want to have a large role in things so some of the core stuff doesn’t get changed. But as it is, I’m not married to any ideas that exist in my comic, and am pretty welcome to changes.

If the changes were to benefit the story than I wouldn't mind, if they were going to change everything to make it appealing to the masses than no. Definitely not if they want to mess with the characters since how they are play a major role in the comic. I've got a really specific story I'm trying to tell, so I'm very stingy on changes. If anything I'd be more open to a company making a spin-off or something not totally related to the main story, as long as it's not a complete bastardization. Other than free advertising and the brand name, I don't really see how getting published would benefit me anyway? I'm already in the process of rescanning and re-editing the first four chapters of my comic for self-publishing, if I really wanted to adapt it into an animation I would just do it myself. Along with teaching myself whatever else I needed to get as little help as possible. Sure, I have no experience but it's not like I can't learn, there are classes and free tutorials all over the internet. I've always wanted to get into animating. I can't imagine my comic being adapted into game, what would it even be? An anti-dating sim? An interactive novel? An Apollo drinking simulator?

The dream is a studio ghibli adaption but that won’t be happening I would want to vet the studio/company proposing the adaption and ensure that we are a good fit. I echo what many of you have said about the integrity of the characters and heart of the story. There are a lot of secrets that will come to unravel as the comic progresses and I hope the publisher will be accepting of them. I will be happy to have a conversation on why these structural changes are there and why I think it’s important to allow them to reach a wider audience. That said, I am also eager to see how they would themselves interpret the story and I will give creative freedom to that. In the case of a live action thing being made of my story, I would actually be super ok with a POC actor filling the role of any of the white presenting characters. Or actors with different body shapes that what I'd originally draw. More diversity in film is always good

outside of censorship, I would be fine with most story changes? with that said, good luck lol. there are very few scenes I think can be cut out of the story without supremely messing up later scenes. every magic ability on-screen is important in some way, a bunch of random background characters end up coming back & getting way more focus later on, etc. add filler, sure, but there's really not much you can cut out without messing up the entire story down the line.

I'm pretty open to the idea of changing some details to fit a different medium better. The big thing that I wouldn't want changed in Whispers of the Past (https://www.webtoons.com/en/challenge/whispers-of-the-past/list?title_no=191366) is the characters' races. Since the story explores the idea of culture-shock and cultural identity, and the races/cultures are integral to world-building, it would be stupid the change the characters' appearances/races willy nilly. And besides, we don't want what happened to Eragon or Percy Jackson when they became movies. Congratulations on completely killing a franchise But yeah, as long as races and major plot details aren't changed too much, I'm really open to adjusting things. As an example, cutting out smexy times or making the language a bit friendlier to a wide audience, fine by me. But changing Kelan to a blacksmith instead of a farmer... Why???? If it was being published as a comic, I don’t think I’d be willing to change too much- though that would depend a great deal in what kind of change. Cleaning up some wonky dialogue? That would probably be fine. Censorship? Absolutely not. Changing my LGBTQ+ characters’ gender / orientation to appeal to the mainstream? Really absolutely not. If being adapted to a different medium, I’d be much more willing to change things around, but would still insist my minority characters not change their identities. But I understand that as far as plot goes, different mediums call for different approaches. I’m planning on writing my comics as novels someday, and will be taking a much different approach to them. The plots will definitely be altered a great deal to better fit being written in prose.(edited)

It honestly depends on what the changes were. There's a fair amount I'd change myself. A few core things I'd certainly not change though.

In AntiBunny http://AntiBunny.net/ for instance I could see some people missing the point of Penelope's character being a pacifist and wanting to make her some kind of badass, as if the only kind of strength there is comes from violence. I wouldn't remove the question of Pooky's gender, as in order to ask the question of "what is identity" I stripped Pooky of everything including even a mental construct of gender.

Some things I would change though. Likely I would cut the first two chapters and start at the 3rd when the plot actually gets moving. So demands for a faster flowing plot I could certainly meet. I'd probably cut few extra characters from the cast to streamline things a bit.

So yes for the purposes of streamlining things I'd make changes. I wouldn't make changes that would go against the entire point of the cahracters though.

Oh, a conversation in #general reminded me of something else regarding adapting Super Galaxy Knights Deluxe R - If the comic is to be adapted with no changes at all, it'd be a legal nightmare. Off the top of my head, these are properties that have been directly stated in dialogue - - Yahtzee - Risk - Mario Kart - Settlers of Catan - Pokemon - Disney's Frozen I don't think you could technically get in trouble for any of those? It's not like anything copyrighted was shown on screen, it's just characters talking about things they've seen before. But a publisher would probably want to play it safe and avoid that. Also... the NFL might get mad at the publisher if the gang names in Cunoze City aren't changed? Like I don't ever say the team location, so technically full team names are never used... but again, it's probably best to play it safe.

Some changes I'd be okay with: Adjusting ages of characters to appeal to target demographics, removing scenes that are difficult to draw, tweaking characters to be either more or less horrible depending on their role in the story

The more I think of it, the more I realize that the most likely thing I'd be asked to change in AntiBunny is to either tone down the violence and grimdark for kids, or make it even raunchier to appeal to the "mature" (not mature at all) animation market (Seth McFarlane's audience).

My own comic keeps it rather PG-13, but there's not much market for animation in that field, at least in America. Seems like it's all either kid friendly stories where no one dies or if they do it's off screen (people get shot and stabbed in my comic) or there's the opposite with dropping F bombs every other line and filling it with sex jokes.

To the third anon down asking me about my opinion- I feel like you are probably the same person who called her out on her blog.  I don’t know Fiona- she messaged me just this last week to tell me about the Omaze thing- probably to get ahead of it and I have been honest with her that I have been very vocal about my thoughts around this obsessive fan girl behavior and her reply was actually pretty reasonable- she wasn’t a bitch about it and didn’t try to change my mind.  But I have received more information from other blogs and anons with receipts that she is lying that she’s never stayed near his house and she in fact has very recently. I don’t like the lying- admit it or else you KNOW it’s wrong.

SHIT YOU NEED TO DO TO GET BACK ON TRACK. NOTE TO SELF:

1. WORK OUT CONSISTENTLY you were doing fucken FANTASTIC last year. I know shit happens and sometimes you fall off but that’s when it becomes important to pull yourself back up. the first few steps back are always the hardest but YOU. GOT. THIS. SIS. you don’t need to lift the heaviest or run the most miles. consistency is KEY.

2. EAT HEALTHIER since last years, restos have opened up again, gatherings are less restricted, things are practically back to normal. and i know you’ve missed out on trying all these diff food places these past 2 years, but RESIST SOMETIMES. you don’t NEED to try everything. you don’t NEED to throw yourself at food every time there’s a gathering, ESPECIALLY if you’re not even hungry!!!!! SOCIAL EATING CAN BE A DANGEROUS THING 

3. FOLLOW YOUR SKINCARE ROUTINE not just for glowy, healthy skin, but for SOME SORT OF STABILITY in your life. maintaining this routine regularly helped in not only looking and feeling better about yourself, but in making sure you’re following some sort of structure on a regular basis!!! spontaneity is cool every now and then, but structure follows the theme of consistency that you’re looking for!

4. MANAGE YOUR TIME EFFECTIVELY i know shit got overwhelming. juggling everything you wanna do has become increasingly difficult, whether it’s making time for others, for working out, for yourself especially. DON’T neglect your planner!!! the powers it holds is tremendous. don’t underestimate what it can do for you. it keeps you on track and makes sure you get shit done regularly! 

5. SING MORE OFTEN this is probably your favorite way of destressing and achieving some sense of fulfillment, and you can’t even find time for it. PLEASE do. MAKE time for it. as “irrelevant” as it may appear on your busy schedule, it’s actually EXTREMELY important. don’t forget about your happiness, about your relief. you deserve it just as much as the next person. don’t ever neglect your comfort and solace for the sake of others. sing for YOURSELF, not for others. even if it’d take 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 30 minutes, an hour, an entire day -- dedicating a small part of your day for music WILL make a difference.

6. JOURNAL you KNOW how you feel. you’re the one experiencing everything after all. but writing down these thoughts & feelings and acknowledging them WILL bring you peace. and you KNOW so because you’ve done it for years. whether you journal about feeling sad, angry, happy, annoyed, etc., WRITE ABOUT IT. ESPECIALLY when you feel like you have no one to share these feelings with. only you will truly understand how you feel, and only you will truly notice progress/change in your behavior. do it for PEACE OF MIND.

7. MANAGE YOUR FINANCES i know this may seem like something you’ve been struggling with for ages, but believe it or not, you’re a lot better off than where you started! keep that in mind! you’re a lot more financially responsible/conscious than you were even just a year ago. it’s tough for now, but you got this. things WILL fall into place later. TRUST IN THE PROCESS. save your money but ALSO use it for things or experiences that you deem are WORTH it -- concerts, trips, expositions, etc. you gotta live your life after all!!!!

here’s what confuses me. we are on a public platform and people are posting things, tagging them, and even just perusing. ostensibly to be heard and get engagement. that’s how the internet works and what it encourages. so when people put something out there especially when they make it localized (? is that a right word) for access, why is the critique or response, even if it’s unfavorable, now a problem? we put it out there and it exists, if someone stumbles upon it why wouldn’t they engage? otherwise, why bother with all this output? i mean not many people read my posts but it’s a good thing for me to have them because what i do write it helps me understand the world better and something mainstream in ways it could be better and what could be done to get away from it. helping understand the context and history of the problems i am seeing on screen in many diff ways. but i do make it seen for a reason. i have drafts or posts privately that are just for me that i don’t think others should see so that means i do not want that engagement and i am closing it off. 

it isn’t like people can’t see it and respond if they so choose  bc this is basically a tacit agreement of having this in public. so if you have an opinion and someone disagrees why would that be hard for you if you are the one who put it out there? we know how this website works and how the web works. do we just want to hear what we agree with or even just know? otherwise i wouldn’t know shit. even with my best friends we try and come to a form of understanding and get on the same page or ask questions. i don’t get upset when they say, “no, because” or introduce a new perspective and this happens with the people i am closest to. so on a public place what else would we get? we allow ourselves to be seen...

i don’t think i have blocked anyone but i know people have blocked me and it has been for probably me being annoying but still fairly innocuous when i reply with a critique or make a joke. you take this risk posting it every time. but i dont want to block people because they could be of value at some point even if i want nothing to do with them. but every time it so happens that i say something even a little off from what this person wants—and it’s generally when i go into things in detail—they shut down from the perception that i am being hateful or accusatory or unfair? even when i try de-escalation tactics or being like “calm down” (not that explicitly) so these seem to be very emotional responses to not hearing exactly what we want and knowing there’s objection when there should be anyway. even if pieces are damn near perfect there’s still something. i find it very hard to believe that there’s intense pain enacted on others for liking “unsavory” things when the “unsavory” is the mainstream and it is necessary to uphold these things and for capital to continue to produce what it does. you’re not different when you accept it into your life either critically or uncritically because that is the norm. so when people are knocking the norms, tropes, whatever it’s like a shock every time and like someone is telling you not to enjoy it. but, again, we put this shit out there and want a response so it cannot be just what we want to hear. i hate that i hate the idea that wanting a  work to be better and seeing shit critically even as a leftist or whatever is oppressive and limiting other ppl when it is in no way the same or even on par with being silenced in general because of the garbage you find in a work. you will still be the minority and it will still be popular so there’s a false sense of superiority put onto others who disagree by the ones who feel “attacked” or like they can’t defend themselves or whatever. and who fucking says? if some random says so like oh well man. you cannot compare it to the real shit these fans do and the massive fanbases they have and the shunning they love to do then feel as if they are priority in feelings.

 they say everyone is sensitive and not able to think about things with nuance but it’s the opposite most times. you aren’t and when someone pops up with it or even says something offhanded cos they dont feel like having a huge discussion that is not the same as pushing others down. there is no majority saying this is wrong and we don’t want it; there’s a majority dedicated to defending it, their choices, and frankly the false sense of even light persecution. especially as adults but in fandom you’re not encouraged to act as a fully fleshed out person for a majority reasons and esp in a fandom that will skew younger. they are reliant on rabid fans or uncritical ones and i have demonstrated that constantly and given quotes etc. we should talk about discourse and what the private owes to the public, what the state owes its viewers, what artists owe the people tuning in. we should talk abou tfreedom of speech forreal and what that means but if we go deep into that you’ll unveil more things you dont’ like how people absolutely rally against this shit and want nothing to do with it. if you don’t want to think about that that is fine but it doesn’t mean others won’t say it.

idk like it may seem insensitive but i dont like the idea that a person pointing out things that are gross or micro or macro agrressive or what the fuck ever is the ruler over the discourse and how people interact with the work when frankly that just isn’t the case in the pattern of the work that people do and utilizing fans and using capital to defend yourself and recreate industry. you may not like to hear that it’s all bullshit but people will say so and it holds not even close to the same weight that the tacit agreement in indulging can sway  us towards not great perceptions. the harm of pointing things out, or being rude, or whatever is not the same as what fans will do to those people and the obfuscation of the real fucking issue.

Some random info about blood in Nanyevimi..

Particularly on the topic of the collecting and selling of it in the realm, attempts to regulate the industry, implications of it, reasons against the practice, etc. (info under read more, even though this is an extremely short post compared to others it’s still in that weird in between length where it’d be just slightly too long if posted fully I guess lol)

The concept of blood in the supernatural realm has always been complicated. Many scholars and cultures theorize that it itself, has supernatural properties and something to do with the nature of magic, while others (which is a more common view) claim that though some blood can indeed have magical properties, that is more reliant on the already existing magical aspects instilled in the person themselves by their soul/magic/etc (as there’s still debate as to where precisely magic comes from and what indicators are present on a physical or tangible level). Some people believe all bloods to have differing special properties depending on the species, and some say they’re all virtually the same with little difference, especially when you look at them under scientific examination.  But despite the various beliefs and cultural systems in Nanyevimi all having their own unique relationships with and conceptualization of the idea of blood, and how it should (or shouldn’t) be used, there has always been a (rather small) market for the distribution and collection of it. 

 There are ethical concerns with the mass collection of blood, as despite there being humane ways to collect it, in an industry as unregulated and largely spread out across the world as it is, it can be hard to ensure that that was the case. 

In addition, most species have a huge list of incompatibilities and harmful effects that can occur due to the mixing or accidental consumption of blood. Which is one of the things that has lead some people to believe blood contains magical properties in the first place, as it can have such varied reactions in others. Even if, when examined in a lab two bloods have seemingly no large difference (like obviously blood will vary by species and all blood has normal variations in it, but I mean like.. it's not like you'll compare two of them and one is of such absurdly different composition that you're unsure if it's even blood, etc. Most of them seem fairly in the same range, and there are no currently recognizable properties that correlate with or account for the differences that have been noticed in blood, etc. ), they may still have wildly varying effects in certain applications, hinting at some sort of undetectable inherent properties.  Not to mention all the other various health concerns that arise from improper storage and handling, etc.   

Due to this, it is illegal in many countries in Nanyevimi to collect blood for non-medical purposes, and especially to buy and sell it (with exceptions for Navyete of course as the population (vampires/avirre'thel) literally needs it to survive, but they have their own extensive laws and hugely strict cultural ceremonies and conditions surrounding it, leading to it being highly regulated there and limited to the native population/species). Though of course people find a way to do it anyway.   

Some people collect blood as a form of unofficial research, to use it and examine it, for whatever reason an amateur at home scientist may want to examine blood (like for example, certain small groups of hobbyists who are determined to research and document and test the limits of every known species in the world, but would rather not be subject to the ethics laws of working officially so they just run a lab out of their basement and try to hunt down different people from various species and convince them to come have tests done (or kidnap them, depending on the.. particular attitude of the amateur scientist in question)).   

Others collect it more as a sport, given how many different species and subspecies there are in the world, some (this is like a ridiculous rich person thing lol...like, nobody would give a shit to do this if they weren’t some combination of bored, rich, and lacking empathy for the general population that isn’t like them) people seek to collect samples from them all, making rare or endangered species’ blood incredibly valuable (and again like.. not animals.. like.. very conscious living humanoid beings.. hence the claim that they’re detached from the humanity of others. Stalking and hunting down groups of people like animals just so you can get a blood sample is.. Freak Behavior). This is different from the science hobbyists, in that they don’t want to study them and don’t care about discovering rare evolutionary branches or secret capabilities, they legit just see it as a cool game, like collecting all trading cards in a set and then bragging about it to their other bored and rich friends.   

The most popular reason to acquire blood however, would be to consume it as a delicacy (these are like a sub-category of the 'bored rich idiots', who happen to be more gullible and are convinced it has magical properties. Like, rich fools who are willing to spend tons of money on blood samples because some other vaguely less foolish rich person manipulated and scammed them by claiming that it would give them good luck or get them high or help make them fertile or something), and probably a majority (about 65%) of the underground blood market is for this purpose. People trying to get their hands on different blood from the most obscure or important species, thinking that consuming it will help them in some way or give them bragging rights or that it will just taste different than the others*, and is similar to trying a new fancy food or sampling different wines at an upscale restaurant (but it's USUALLY still out of them thinking it will do something for them. Even a lot of the people who claim they just like sampling and want to try all different types are always, secretly hoping to themselves that they’re going to unlock secret magic from it or something lol)

 *(interestingly though, kind of similar to how some wines in our world have been proven to be this way, most people actually can not distinguish any difference between the different blood of humanoid species. It’s all the placebo effect at best, and pseudoscience peddling blood sellers actually tampering with the blood using magic to give it fake flavors at worst. The only species ever verifiably and reliably proven to be able to detect a distinction between types of blood (in humanoid creatures and animals alike) are the Avirre’thel (which is interesting since perhaps they have a rare ability to actually pickup on some of the aforementioned ‘undetectable magical properties’ or something), but like anyone else who says they can is probably just… a silly rich person tricking themselves into thinking it was wise to spend $20,000 on a rare blood sample from a dingy black market blood shop ) 

 Ironically, the Avirre’thel/vampires, the only species in existence that literally requires consumption of the blood of living beings to survive (so has the best excuse out of everyone to participate in these things), are one of the main combatants of this industry, partially due to the cultural traditions they’ve built up around similar concepts, leading them to see this treatment of blood as highly disrespectful and also grossly irresponsible (especially due to them often having to interact with various human populations be incredibly careful about it, and also being pretty much experts in things like blood sensitivities, what species are compatible/incompatible, basic cross species/cross cultural standards of respect and communication, how to interact safely with those from other areas without starting conflict, etc etc. They have some of the highest standards in the world for all things of that nature (given they have thousands of years of forced experience with it), and they see stuff like this as like absurdly inappropriate and not at all in accordance to how things like this Should be handled). They see it as not only insulting to them (given the significance of blood in their culture), but more importantly, reckless and dangerous to everyone else as well, given how serious of matters are being tampered with and the potential harmful effects that a lack of knowledge and regulation can bring. A deep respect for blood and a cautious reverence for the lives around them is so deeply ingrained in their culture that, despite being probably one of the biggest groups that could stand to gain from an entirely unregulated blood market, they're actually some of the most strongly opposed to it.  

The industry has especially flourished in (or basically has entirely relocated to, as it’s one of the only places where it’s actually legal) Mippya (another reason the Avirre’thel are often involved, given it’s so close to them and… the.. cursed Fanyin elves on their bullshit again), as it is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the supernatural realm (and the least regulated which makes it particularly popular for.. certain types of people).  Blood selling is one of the most prominent forms of “tiri gyeddania” ( meaning ’hidden tourism’ or ‘unseen tourism’, aka any broadly illegal activities/items/etc. that tourists regularly show up to do/purchase,  since Fanyin/Mippya have virtually zero ‘human rights’ or any sort of system that would regulate anything involving other people) that they are known for. Most efforts on an international level to regulate the industry, and warnings from groups like the main council of Navyete and etc., have gone pretty ignored in Fanyin and Mippya, to the delight of weird basement scientists and gullible rich supernatural folk that like to drink overpriced likely fake** blood in underground caves to feel elite and cool about themselves.

  (**often it’s just bird blood labeled as elf blood since nobody can tell the difference. While some buyers are adamant about actually having proof or seeing a living source (which is often, worse and more expensive since, generally implies kidnapping and keeping people captive as living proof of where the blood came from),  a majority of people still are just like… taking a shady vendor’s word for it lol)

Spring & Some Regularity

Spring has sprung despite the power of a nice macro lens.

I have to apologize to all of you and also none of you since I haven’t written in some time, nor have any of you read anything I wrote previously.  In your defense, there’s very little content for you to peruse, but I don’t blame you for that.

Now that, that mess is over with, onto new business.

There is no new business (that is, if you define “new business” as new “business”).  Which occasionally I do.

I haven’t been able to work since I finished editing my last project in June 2016; it’s also why I haven’t written since then.  An unfortunate catastrophic series of events has befallen me.

June 2016  -  Came down with bronchitis, went to the Dr. was given a medication I ended up being allergic to and ended up in the hospital with bronchial pneumonia.  I was then given more antibiotics and a narcotic, but as I lived alone and needed to work (living paycheck to paycheck) I couldn’t take that medicine because I couldn’t drive on it.  I had no family locally, so my mom said to come up to North Carolina from South Florida for a couple of weeks just to regain my health, I agreed.

A few days later, I went out to the patio to get some fresh air.  The medication made me dizzy and drowsy, and I had a coughing spasm which led me to fall down the stairs.  I tried to catch myself and my chest hit the post at the bottom.  I spent the next week in tremendous pain, but neglected seeing a Dr because I have no health insurance.  Eventually, I was forced to as the pain increased. Turned out that I tore cartilage on two ribs (would have been better had I broke them).  This meant that I couldn’t fly back to Florida as soon as I planned.

July 2016  -  A month into this recovery I started getting sick (stomach pain) abnormally bad and I suffer with ulcerative colitis, this was different however. You guessed it, had to go to the Dr.  I was diagnosed as having a parasite (from tap water).  They gave me another antibiotic for that.

August 2016 -  Started feeling better from the parasite and my ribs were finally starting to heal, I had to get back to Florida.  I hardly had any money in savings, but I was using it to pay the rent in an apartment I hadn’t lived in for almost 2 months.

That’s when things really took a turn for the worse.  As stated above, I have ulcerative colitis, but had been in remission for 14 years thanks to homeopathy. Now, however I started to get sick, and this time it was a colitis flare.  (I’ll write a separate entry on the subject).  I’ve had a few flare ups while in remission and I’ve always been able to right the ship with a couple months of herbs (slippery elm, boswellia, licorice root, marshmallow root etc...).  Not this time.  It was the worst flare up since I was first diagnosed with uc back in August of 1992.  I had to find a gastroenterologist.

September 2016  -  The day of my appointment, I walk up to the front door, an elderly woman was approaching so I held the door open for her, but I was so weak from blood loss I fell down a slope about 8 feet and into a bush.  The nurses helped me up and into a wheelchair.  The Dr wouldn’t even see me instead sending me directly to the hospital.  I was in the hospital for 6 days.  Colonoscopy showed a severe flare, but no colon cancer which of course is great news.  They let me go home once my bathroom visits went from about 12-13 times a day to 4-5 so I was given Prednisone and Lialda and sent home.

Speaking of home... I was now broke.  I couldn’t afford my apartment in Florida, haven’t been able to work and exhausted any savings I managed to hold onto.  Lialda is $1400/mo and Prednisone is a very dangerous medication that is only meant for short term use (generally 6 weeks or less and often at a 20mg dose).  

November 2016  - I was taking 40mg, and when I had to ween off of it (which is a necessity) I just got worse, so the Dr put me back on it at full dose, but it was too late.  I had to be hospitalized once more.  This time I also had C-diff which increased my stay to 8 days this time.  

Once again, the Dr. put me back up to 40mg of Prednisone and more Lialda.

He wants me to start Remicade, (chemo for colitis / crohn’s disease) but without insurance, it’s $14,000/mo, another option, Humira is $11,000/mo, but he feels that Remicade is the best option for me.  Either way, it’s impossible.  Plus now I was taking Vancomycin to treat the c-diff.

December 2016  -  I lost my apartment in Florida and the majority of my belongings, bed, furniture, tv etc... all gone the way of a (Storage Wars type fate).  Sigh... :(

I had a friend taking care of my car (which has $218k miles on it - we do a lot of driving in the film industry) but now my registration had expired and he couldn’t keep it at his apartment.  It was either lose my only vehicle or borrow money to get it shipped to NC.  As it was, I was already getting financial assistance from my mother who was recovering from a major stroke and living off of Social Security... imagine how this makes me feel.  I borrowed money to get my car shipped.

The same treatment of the colitis rendered the same results....

January 2017  -  Hospitilized... again with c-diff and this time for 2 weeks!  It was apparent that Dr’s just couldn’t help me; my condition kept worsening, they had no idea what to do.  At one point they had me on 250mg of Prednisone / day, and here’s what I mean when I say “they”.

My gastroenterologist works with half a dozen other Dr’s and they all do rounds at the same hospital that I was in repeatedly.  I need to manage my stress, yet every time a Dr came into see me, they all said something different, managed my meds differently, it was very confusing and traumatic to my mind and body. One Dr even insulted me.  A week into my stay, he walks in, leans over me (gets right in my face) and says:  “There’s a rumor going around that you don’t want to leave.  What do you think about that?”  He wasn’t smiling when he said it.  I don’t know if he was joking or what, but had I the strength, I would have punched him in the face.  That really hurt; does he really think that I want to go to the bathroom 20x/day?  Be in excruciating pain, not get any sleep, have needles stabbing me everywhere, my hands, my arms, my stomach... is this a good time for me???

I was actually insulted a 2nd time.  Two weeks into my stay, I was still going to the bathroom 12x / day.  When one of the gastroenterologists came in, she said she was going to send me home.  I asked her:  “As sick as I am?”  She then said the most idiotic thing I’ve ever heard a Dr say.  She asked me how many times I went to the bathroom that day, I told her, she then asked if I can prove it.  Are you fucking kidding me?  The nurses are very busy there (not to mention understaffed)  I’m on a floor full of patients suffering just like me and you want me to to not flush the toilet after I go?  Then stand there without wiping so a nurse can look at the toilet?   Or do you want me (with c-diff especially) to throw it the waste basket?  And often I have to go again minutes later, but you want me to call a nurse in every time to look?  Any of my nurses would have called her an idiot just for saying that.

She then released me to my nurses surprise (such as the case when you have no health insurance).

My original gastroenterologist had a specific plan regarding my weeing off of Prednisone.  To do it very slowly, go down by 5mg every 2 weeks until I was off. By now I was suffering with very serious side-effects of being on this medication for so long (Particularly, excruciating joint pains) but the level of idiocy and lack of care by my Dr’s knows no bounds as I was released with only 1 week of Prednisone.  I then called my Dr. and believe it or not, he refused to write me a prescription for Prednisone (eventhough he knew I couldn’t just stop it).  He had officially given up on me.

I was then forced to go see a Primary care Dr. who filled the script.  And also recommended I take a better probiotic.  Vsl #3  A specific probiotic for ulcerative colitis.  (Of course I need to take 4/day and it’s $56/bottle, I can and do get it $10 cheaper through blinkhealth.com I suggest you check them out for your prescriptions.  Using this link will also save me a few dollars for referring you.  additionally on your first use... search for blink health coupon on google, you’ll thank me.  :)

May 2017  -  To bring you guys up to speed, I’m not on Lialda (can’t afford it). I’ve been reducing the Prednisone by 5mg every two weeks, but started getting worse when I hit 20mg, by the time I was down to 10mg, I knew I needed to be hospitalized again, but I refuse to go in, not wanting to be treated like a piece of garbage or to continue this ridiculous cycle.

As part of the money I borrowed I’ve been getting over the counter herbs to try and do something positive... I take over 50 pills/day, I don’t know how much worse off I’d be without taking them; it’s kept me out of the hospital, but it’s still not enough.

I went back to my primary care who refilled my prescription of Prednisone, I so desperately need to get off of this shit, but I also need to be on a higher dose to hopefully stave off another hospitalization.  

I can’t see my homeopathist because she’s back in Florida.  She’s also a Dr, so technically she can’t treat me without having physically seen me within 3 years, legally).  I know (I have all the confidence in the world) that she can help me, but I can’t afford to travel. Pay for the flight, a rental car, hotel (because in my condition I need my own dedicated bathroom) plus money to see her and pay for treatment.  Sure, it’s a far cry less than what a single treatment of Remicade would be, but we’re still talking a couple thousand dollars (more if you include the required follow up visits).

All I want to do is get back to work... is that too much to ask?  And it’s not that easy to get back to Florida, where my networking and connections are as I have no place to live, a broken aged car and no savings.  This photo is my mom and I at the premiere of a film that I was the 1st Assistant Director on in late 2015.  

So yeah, I apologize for not writing more often (my video editing laptop also broke btw... unfixable motherboard type stuff) so I can’t even take remote gigs.  A replacement if I go pc laptop over my macbook is still about $1700.  Every aspect of my life has just fallen apart over the past year, I’ve lost everything, liquidated my life, it’s been extremely depressing to say the least.

I’ve been turned down for medicaid, turned down for obamacare, turned down for disability... I know I need to keep at, it’s just hard, I’m bed-ridden most of the day (which causes my back... oh yeah, did I forget to mention the multiple back injuries I have?  L4, L5 - L5, S1 & T1 herniated discs, C7 compressed disc, spinal stenosis and damage to my C1 & Atlas vertebrae) which causes me daily pain and is exacerbated by not being able to stretch, exercise and having to stay in bed).  I have no transportation, my car is here, but not registered, plus sitting all that time, she now requires work that I can’t afford.

Sadly, ulcerative colitis (even as severe as I have it) is entirely survivable, but not like this....

My problem is this, In July 2007 A man in a huge truck with a trailer hinge back up out from a parking space, it I saw him and the only thing I could at the time is speed up so he would not hit the middle of my car. Straight from the start right after the accident my car kept dyeing out, so I had to drive it like a standard car with my feet on the gas and brake at the same time. So in the end , last I have heard there is a short somewhere so I took it to Spitfire and place that specializes in electrical problems and he told me my computer is bad. First of all the things my battery kept dyeing out, my car would not start up in the mornings,I took it to Auto zone and my battery was fat, swollen no good. Bought a new one, then I took it to a man at midas , he said I needed a valve cover gasket and he showed me my spark plugs we filled with oil, fixed that. Now Midas ran a scan and said I had either a bad map sensor or a short. Changed the map sensor the car is still barely running, so then another place said it was a short but had it for two weeks and could not find the short . I would like to know , if the guys Insurance is still on the hook for all the problems I have had with the car since the accident. My dad purchased a car and added me as a named driver. I use the car whenever he doesn't use it but as a majority he covers more miles than I do, some weeks it's 50/50 usage others I use it not as much. My dad is the owner of the car and the policy holder. He received a call from the insurance people and because he said we use it 50/50 some weeks they have now given him 7 days left before they are going to cancel the insurance. He payed this in fully and is only 2 months in. He recieved no terms and conditions, are they aloud to do this? Please help as he is isn't clued up on this and we both need to use the car.
