Honestly, people tend to take kindness for weakness. I used to be the same, a broken kid mad at the world because i thought the world had no love for me, and that those who seemed kind were fake or weak and if i wanted to survive i had to push them away/break them. I grew up though. I became that kind person, and i learnt that it takes so much strength to be kind, to choose kindness every day. Im just a person on the internet, im not going to change some anons mind/lifestyle, im not a miracle worker. However i can show them that im not being fake with my kindness. That i do truly love each and every person that visits my blog. That my kindness is my strength and i will hold onto it regardless of what any silly, angry, misguided anon wants to say about it. And i think thats enough, you know?

I don't think John was a real friend for Stu... I mean he bullied him and he'd let Paul bully him as well that's just cruel... Stuart is my baby and I don't understand how people hate him in this fandom. But I just can't forgive how John treated him. He never showed up to his Funeral, never left a note or whatever when he died. Nope, he never cared about him. It's sad.

Hi anon, I can understand your point of view to a certain extent, but I do think John cared deeply for Stuart and it’s quite clear to me that how strong his love for his friend was. The only thing... he didn’t know how to express it. In his own words, “It just wasn’t done.” 

“Why can’t we go for other people to Heaven? John asks me that - he said he would go for Stuart in heaven because Stuart was such a marvellous boy and he is nothing... One day he showed me and Klaus his little room. Every piece of paper from Stuart he have stick on the wall and big photographs by his bed” - A letter from Astrid to Millie Sutcliffe, after Stuart’s death.

“John was like Stuart’s guardian angel. Stuart was very tiny, only as big as I am. He was very delicate, and John always protected him. He was like a mum, always worried that something bad might happen to Stuart. “Don’t go there, don’t do that, it might be dangerous.” ... Before Stuart met me, John and he was like that (knots her fingers), the best of friends - nobody was between them.” Astrid

I mean, there’s countless quotes showing John clearly loved his friend, I won’t put them all here because that’s a mammoth task. But consider: John wanted him to join his beloved band, not caring about Stu’s musical ability. Paul was jealous for a reason! They were close. Close enough to live together, close enough to have an inseparable kind of bond that many people commented on. 

After Stuart’s death, John still kept Stuart’s memory threaded through his work. Stuart appears on the Sgt Pepper cover (the cutout remained in the kenwood home), some of Stuart’s paintings were kept in John’s home, John was even writing about him as late as the 70s. Yoko has said that John spoke about him often. John recalled the techniques Stuart had taught him when he took up painting for a spell in the 70s... I think there was truly a great love that obviously never left him. 

The funeral thing is unfortunate, though I think the band were touring when it happened? In any case, John and Cynthia did keep in contact with Astrid. Despite the initial awkwardness John did try to comfort Astrid, who credits him with helping her with her grief. 

As for fandom hate........ misguided. That’s all I’ll say.
