Friends and enemies part 20
Merle looked at Judith.
Judith "What?"
Merle "So how do we do that? Are we knocking or?"
Judith noticed a hole farther from the gate in the gate wall.
Judith "No, we're not knocking. That wouldn't be a surprise then."
Merle "How the hell did you think we could get inside?"
Judith "Do you see that hole over there?"
Merle also saw a hole.
Merle "Yeah, what about that?"
Judith "I thought we could use it."
Merle "Are you crazy? Someone might think we're villains or something."
Judith "Trust me, I know what I'm doing."
Merle "You've used that hole before, haven't you?"
Judith "Yep."
Merle "Well, we have nothing to lose."
Then Judith and Merle crouched so that no one would notice them and they crawled against the wall towards the hole.
Judith whispered to Merle, "No one saw us, right?"
Merle whispered back, "I don't think so."
Judith whispered back "Good."
Then they were finally at the hole.
Judith whispered "Come on."
Merle nodded. Then they squeezed themselves from the hole to the other side.
Judith whispered, "We made it."
Merle whispered back "Hell, yeah we did."
Judith and Merle stood in the backyard which belong to the house where Daryl and Carol lived. That’s when Daryl heard when someone has come to the backyard, Daryl moved the curtains and he saw two silhouette, he didn’t know they belonged to Merle and Judith.
Dayl "What the hell? Who the hell are those?"
Daryl grabbed the crossbow from the table, then he ran to the door that took him to the backyard, he opened it. And Merle and Judith had backs toward him.
Daryl "Hey, drop your guns if you have them! If you do not do that then you can be sure I'll shoot an arrow in both of your asses!"
Merle whispered to Judith "Damn, now we're in damn trouble."
Judith whispered back, "I didn't know this hole led us to someone's damn backyard."
Merle whispered back, "You said you used this hole before."
Judith whispered, "It was probably the second hole I've used."
Merle whispered, "How many holes are in that fence?"
Judith whispered "It has two before, probably they've fixed it for another and I haven't noticed it."
Daryl raised his voice, "Did you hear what I said? Turn the damn around or I'll shoot! And put the damn hands up!"
Merle looked at Judith, who nodded. Then they both raised their hands up and they slowly turned around and Daryl pointed them at the crossbow at the same time.
Merle "Hey, brother. Did you miss me?"
Daryl put the crossbow down and he stared at Merle and Judith.
Merle "Are you okay? Looks like you saw a damn ghost at least."
Daryl said nothing.
Judith "Uh, hey."
Daryl "Merle what the hell are you doing here and who the hell is that girl?"
Merle "I came back and that girl is Judith, I ran into her on the way here."
Daryl "In hell, did you get here? Apparently you didn't use the gate, did you?"
Judith "We used that hole in that and it apparently led us to the backyard of your damn house."
Daryl "I'll take you to Rick."
Judith "Do you know where she is?"
Daryl "I guess he's in the dining tent like most of us are at this time."
Judith didn't say anything she just looked at Merle.
Merle "I'm not lying, I'm damn hungry. So the dining tent doesn't sound bad."
Daryl "Shut up, brother!"
Judith "So you really hate Merle, huh?"
Daryl "Do you have a brother?"
Judith "No, I don't."
Daryl "Good for you."
Merle "I'm going to starve! Let's go!"
Daryl said nothing he just went for a walk out of the backyard and Merle and Judith left to follow him.
Merle "You didn't answer me if you missed me or not."
Daryl "Why the hell would I miss you?"
Merle "Well, because I'm your brother."
Daryl "Well, say one reason why I should miss you."
Merle "Because I'm your brother."
Daryl "That wasn't the reason."
Merle "Well, I'm your brother, so you should miss me."
Daryl "I ain't missed you. I never did."
Merle "Uh, and the reason was?"
Daryl "Because you're my brother."
Merle "That's no reason not to miss."
Daryl "Maybe it wasn't."
Merle "Well, what's the reason then?"
Daryl "Do you want to fuck really know the reason?"
Merle "I'd love to."
Daryl turned to look at Merle.
Daryl "Fuck you for leaving me when i fucking needed you."
Judith said nothing, nor did Merle.
Daryl "Say fucking something!"
Merle "Hey, I didn't leave! You and your damn wife dumped me in that damn ditch, with those damn wheelbarrows! So don't blame me for that, damn it!"
Daryl "First of all, Carol is not my wife!"
Merle said nothing.
Daryl "And second, you're an asshole and that's true."
Daryl "And third, Just leave me alone. I'm not myself. i'm falling apart, and i don't want you here!"
Merle still didn't say anything, then Judith opened her mouth.
Judith "Can we already go there in the damn dining tent, or are you just going to stay here damn standing and arguing?"
Merle and Daryl looked at Judith.
Judith "All right, I'll go there then damn alone, if you two aren't going to come there, damn it."
Then Judith just went for a walk and she left Merle and Daryl behind.
Merle "Are you happy now, huh?"
Daryl said nothing. Then Merle ran after Judith.
Daryl "Fuck!"
Daryl kicked the barrel standing on the grass again and Annabella saw it again when Daryl kicked the barrel.
Annabella shouted "Seriously, dude? Again?"
Daryl "That damn barrel was in my way."
Annabella "Really?"
Daryl "Damn, really."
Annabella "It's standing on the grass, so how the hell can it be in your way?"
Daryl "It just was!"
Annabella just rolled her eyes.
Daryl "What?"
Annabella "I'm starting to suspect you have something against damn barrels."
Daryl "How so?"
Annabella "This was already a damn second time you kicked the barrel."
Daryl "Yeah, but that barrel didn't fall like the other one did."
Annabella "You are, something else."
Daryl said nothing, he just went for a walked away.
Annabella "He definitely has something against the barrels."
Jim 'walked to Annabella and he had wheelbarrow with him.
Jim "Who has something definitely against the barrels?"
Annabella "Daryl, he kicked the barrel and this was the second time he did it."
Jim "That is weird, weird indeed."
Merle and Judith had arrived at the entrance to the dining room and so Daryl had also come there.
Daryl "Rick is over there."
Merle turned his head and he looked at Daryl.
Merle "Did you decide to come anyway?"
Daryl "Don't start."
That’s when Merle spotted Michonne sitting with Carol and Rick.
Judith "What are you looking at?"
Merle "Do you see that brown woman sitting with Carol and Rick?"
Judith "Yeah, what about him?"
Merle "I think I've seen him before."
Daryl "His name is Michonne and Rick found him in the forest and Rick brought him here. Some guys had chased him."
Judith "Why?"
Daryl "Who knows."
Just then Rick raised his head and he looked towards the tent entrance and he noticed Merle, Daryl and Judith.
Rick "Excuse me."
Carol and Michonne watched as Rick got up from the bench and he went for a walk towards the entrance to the tent.
Michonne "Why did he leave?"
Carol "I don't know. Maybe he ...."
Carol didn't have time to finish the sentence when she heard when Rick shouted.
Rick "Judith, you're alive! Thank God!"
Then Michonne and Carol turned to look at what was going on.
Judith "Father!"
Then Michonne and Carol saw Judith running into Rick’s arms and Rick hugged Judith.
Rick "I thought I'd never see you again!"
Judith "Well, you can't get rid of me so easily!"
Michonne looked at Carol.
Michonne "Is that girl Rick's daughter?"
Carol "In a way.
Michonne "What do you mean?"
Carol "Shane is really his father, but she prefers to call Rick his father."
Michonne "Has she been gone?"
Carol "She was missing for half a year and we've been looking for her everywhere."
Michonne "Well, now she found you."
Carol got up.
Michonne "Where are you going?"
Carol "Greet Judith."
Michonne said nothing.
Carol "Are you coming?"
Michonne answered nothing, but Carol noticed that she was staring at Merle.
Carol "Is everything all right, Michonne?"
That's when Michonne got up.
Carol "Michonne?"
Michonne didn't answer anything, she just ran out of another tent exit that was near the table where they were sitting.
Carol "Uh, that was weird."
Then Carol went to drop the plate and cup into a cart where dirty things were put then she walked towards Rick, Daryl, Merle and Judith.
Carol "Judith, what a nice surprise!"
Judith let go of Rick's hug and she hugged Carol.
Judith "I missed you, Aunt Carol."
Carol "I missed you too, darling."
Rick looked at Merle.
Rick "Thank you for finding him and bringing him back."
Merle "I didn't find him. And rather she brought me here."
Daryl "What are you talking about?"
Merle "Well, Judith found me in another community and she brought me here."
Rick "Another community? Is there another community somewhere?"
Merle "Yep and its name is Whirlwind."
Daryl "And you've been living there these three days?"
Merle "Yeah."
Daryl "How did you find it?"
Merle "I didn't find them. They found me in that damn ditch where you and Carol had dumped me."
Rick "Who's their leader?"
Merle "His name is Ezekiel."
Rick "We have to find them."
Then Merle looked towards the table where Michonne had been sitting with Rick and Carol a moment ago, but it was empty.
Merle "What the hell did she go to?"
Carol "She ran out of the tent."
Merle "Huh?"
Carol "If you meant Michonne then she just ran out of the tent."
Merle "Why?"
Carol "I don't know, but when she saw you then she got up from the bench like a damn bullet and then she ran away."
Rick "Did you see where she went?"
Carol "I didn't have time, she was fast."
Meanwhile, Michonne had already run to the gate and Shane was just coming to the gate because it was his turn to be the gatekeeper.
Shane "Hey, you!"
Michonne heard Shane's voice.
Shane "Hey, stop!"
Michonne ran to the gate and Shane ran there as well.
Shane "What the hell are you doing?"
Michonne said nothing.
Shane "Are you running away or something?"
Michonne still said nothing.
Shane "If you were running away, then it's not ...."
That’s when Michonne hit Shane so hard that Shane dropped to the ground unconscious and his rifle fell to the ground.
Michonne "You couldn't be quiet."
Then Michonne looked in both directions, she didn't see anyone, so she took Shane's rifle from the ground then she took the bullets from Shane's pocket and she put them in her own, then she opened the gate enough that she could squeeze himself on the other side when she was on the other side so she closed the gate so quietly that no one heard anything, then she run towards the forest.
Rick "Sh couldn't have gone far."
Carol "I'm going to let Maggie know."
Rick "Do it. Daryl, you go through every house if she happens to go to one of them."
Daryl nodded and he ran out of the tent.
Carol "Maggie! Maggie!"
Maggie turned to look at Carol.
Maggie "Has something happened?"
Carol "It's about Michonne."
Abraham "Well, what the hell has a newcomer done?"
Carol "She ran away."
Rosita "She escaped?"
Carol "We're not sure, but she went for a run when she saw Merle."
Abraham "Merle, wasn't he Daryl's brother?"
Carol "Yeah, he was."
Rosita "Is he back?"
Carol "Yep and so is Judith."
Maggie "Judith, who is she?"
Carol "Judith she's kind of Rick's daughter and she's been missing for half a year."
That's when Maggie remembered that she had once helped Judith.
Maggie "I've helped her once, but I didn't assume she was Rick's daughter."
Meanwhile, Daryl knocked on one of the house doors and Andrea opened the door.
Andera "Daryl, nice surprise. Come inside."
Daryl "I don't have time for that."
Amy had come to stand next to Andrea.
Amy "You don't look busy to me."
Daryl "Have you seen Michonne?"
Amy "Oh, the newcomer Rick brought here?"
Daryl "Yep, just him."
Andrea "No, we're not. Why?"
Daryl "She's gone."
In the meantime, the forest.
Michonne "I think I lost them."
Michonne knew where she was and she knew she was close to the Bad Blood community, but she had no idea that James had killed Mia and now James was in a cell in the Whirwind community.
Michonne "5 miles away then I'm home."
Michonne walked forward and then she saw a familiar sign that read: This is not a situation of bad blood. Its a business decision.
Michonne "Home sweet home."
The closer Michonne came, she heard the sounds of sirens.
Michonne "What the hell has happened?"
Then she heard Dwight shout.
Dwight "Already put out those damn sirens! They're damn annoying!"
Then Michonne heard when Lucy shouted back.
Lucy "Did you think I wasn't damn trying?!?!?"
Dwight shouted back, "Well, shoot them!"
Lucy "How the hell would I shoot them broken?!?!?!"
Dwight "Use a damn rocket launcher or something!"
Lucy "You're stupid sometimes!"
Dwight "How the hell am I?"
Lucy "Do you think a damn rocket launcher would break those damn sirens?"
Michonne walked over to one of the sirens and she opened the door that was on the side of the siren, then she took out the knife and she cut the wires connected to the sirens. And the disconnection of one wire helped and the sirens stopped ringing.
Jason "Fucking finally they went off."
Bella "But how?"
Dwight "I don't care how shit they went out, but I'm glad they did."
Lucy "Me too. I would have gone crazy if they had still on the damn a couple more minutes."
Michonne put the knife back in her pocket, then she closed the door on the side of the siren.
Dante "But we need to found out who the hell turned them off."
Then they heard Michonne's voice.
Michonne "It was me."
They turned around and they looked at Michonne.
Michonne "Surprise."
Negan said nothing. That's when Michonne saw Mia that Negan had put on the ground.
Michonne "Is Mia sick or something?"
Dante "Uh, she's ....."
Dante meant to say that Mia was dead, but Negan silenced him by hitting him in the head with a baseball bat wrapped around barbed wire and Dante fell dead to the ground.
Michonne "You didn't do that right now, did you?"
Negan "Yeah, I killed him using Lucille."
Michonne "What the hell has happened here?"
Dwight "Well, apparently James killed Mia and James has now escaped."
Negan looked at Dwight.
Negan "James didn't kill Mia, it was suicide!"
Dwight said nothing.
Michonne "Are you sure it was?"
Negan "I saw in the mirror a suicide message that Mia had written with her own blood."
Michonne "I don't think so."
Negan "How come you don't think so?"
Michonne "How did Mia kill herself, with a knife?"
Negan "No, she had a bullet hole."
Michonne "So she couldn't write it in it then."
Dwight "Where are you going with this?"
Michonne "James staged it for suicide."
Dwight "You can't know that, you haven't visited Mia's room."
Michonne "Well, I thought I'd go."
Betty "Michonne may be right."
Negan "How so?"
Betty "James was the last one who was in Mia's room and when I knocked on Mia's door, Mia didn't answer anything but James answered and he said Mia had been in the bathroom."
Michonne didn't say anything, she pushed herself past the others and she walked inside the inn and there she walked straight to Mia's room and Negan had come after her.
Michonne "Why is that bathroom door kicked broken?"
Negan "I did it."
Michonne "Why?"
Negan "Well, it was locked and Mia didn't open it."
Michonne "Can it be locked from the outside?"
Negan "No, just from the inside."
Then Michonne spotted a bullet hole in the wall next to Mia's bed and she walked there.
Michonne "It happened here."
Negan "What happened?"
Michonne "James was angry with Mia and she would push Mia against the wall and hit her and then she shot Mia. And then when James heard Betty out loud she panicked and she lied that Mia was in the bathroom. Then when Betty had gone James pulled Mia's body into the bathroom and she put the door lock in the locked position, then he kicked the door closed so that it locked and no one could open it. "
Negan "Damn, are you a murder investigator or something?"
Michonne "I've been a lawyer. And I've had to handle thousands of similar cases in court."
Negan "Damn."
Michonne walked inside the bathroom and she saw a pool of blood in the middle of the bathroom floor where Mia had been lying. Then Michonne looked in the mirror and the text in it.
Michonne read the text in the mirror: I don't know what i want in life. I don't know what i want right now. All i know is that i'm hurting so much inside that it's eating me, and one day, there won't be any of me left.
Negan said nothing.
Michonne "Unusual suicide note, I have to say."
Negan "How so unusual?"
Michonne "I've seen all sorts of suicide messages during my career and this is the most unusual of them."
Michonne then walked out of the room, then looked at the hallway and the hallway hall that James had walked into when he had escaped.
Michonne "What's at the end of that hallway?"
Negan "There's an emergency exit door."
Michonne went for a walk towards it and Negan walked after him.
Michonne "James has escaped through this."
Negan "How do you know?"
Michonne "Instincts."
Then they arrived at the door that read the emergency exit and Negan opened the door and they went down the stairs and and they stopped at the emergency button and its cover was broken.
Michonne "James has pressed that and after that the sirens started ringing."
Negan "And then he ran out that door and escaped into the woods, right?"
Michonne "Yeah, he escaped when there was chaos here."
Negan "Damn it, dude is a crooked snake."
Meanwhile, in the Whirlwind community. James was in the cell.
James "Your name is?"
Jerry "It's Jerry."
James "Can I have some water?"
Jerry "Ezekiel will give you water then when he comes."
James "You said about 5 minutes ago and he hasn't come yet."
Then they heard the door of the basement open and Ezekiel walked down the stairs to the cell area.
Jerry "I said he was coming."
Ezekiel "Jerry you can go."
Jerry "All right, King."
Then Jerry left the basement.
James "Can I have some water?"
Ezekiel "Not yet. I'll interview you first."
James said nothing.
Ezekiel "So, Mia was Victoria's daughter, huh?"
James "Yeah, she was."
Ezekiel "What about his father?"
James "She never talked about his father."
Ezekiel "You said Negan would be his father."
James "Well, so Mia said Negan would be her father, but I'm not sure if."
Ezekiel said nothing.
James "Can I have that damn water now? I'm damn thirsty."
Ezekiel "Everything in time."
James "What the hell else do you want to know?"
Ezekiel "Where's Michonne?"
James "As if I knew where the hell she's, I'm not his damn security guard!"
Ezekiel "I have to say you're stubborn like a bull."
James "Can I have that hell of water now?"
Ezekiel said nothing he just walked over to the fridge and he took a bottle of water from there, then he closed the fridge door and he walked over to cell where James was inside, then he threw the bottle into the cell and James lifted it up and opened the cap and he drank a sip.
James "Thank you, I guess."
Ezekiel "Well, so where were we?"
James "We were in Michonne."
Ezekiel "Right. Tell me something about him."
James "Well, she was a lawyer before this world turned to earthly hell."
Ezekiel "" Aha, that explains it when she thinks she's above the law. "
James "What?"
Ezekiel "Jesus and I tried to catch him, but damn that woman was faster than we were and we lost her."
James "Yeah, Michonne as fast as a cheetah."
Ezekiel "She's definitely Negan's best fighters too, right?"
James "I don't deny that."
Ezekiel said nothing.
James "Want to know something?"
Ezekiel "Tell me."
James "She has a quiet confidence that screams loud. She is humble, but strong. She is stable, but rebellious. She is giving, but not naive. She chooses her battles wisely, she'll stay silent until it's time to fight and when that times comes, she will fight and she will win."
Ezekiel "You mean Michonne?"
James "Yep."
Ezekiel "How did she become like that?"
James "Oh, a fighter?"
Ezekiel "Yeah."
James "She remembered who she was and the game changed."
Ezekiel "What do you mean?"
James "She walks through hell with a smile, because she owns her demon."
Ezekiel "I don't think I'll follow."
James "The angels she had created inside her to project herself, fell in love with her demons and turned against her."
Ezekiel was speechless.
James "She stopped fighting her inner demons. They are on the same side now."
to be continued....

Y/an heart broke seeing the love of her life as one of those monsters. The little baby she had with Merle was in her arms when she and Dayrl found Merle eating someone it broke both of their hearts. Y/n was sobbing catching the attention of walker Merle. Dayrl was sobbing too, watching as his undead brother started limping towards them.
Dayrl pushed Merle backwards away from Y/n and her baby. Merle kept coming back until Dayrl stabbed Merle making him fall onto the grass. Dayrl continuously stabbed Merle over and over and over again. Sobbing he fell backwards. Y/n ran over to Dayrl pulling him into his arms. Her baby still on her side, sleeping soundly as she hugged the man she thought as a brother.
“He’s gone.” Dayrl sobbed into her shoulder. Y/n nodded, kissing his forehead.
“I know,” she whispered. Looking over Dayrls shaking body to where the love of her life laid dead.
“I know.” She shakily spoke as tears silently slid down her Y/s/t face.
—Months later—
The morning after the storm , all is peaceful. Maggie wakes up to see Daryl still awake. She sits by his side and talks with him, telling him he should get some sleep, and that it's okay to rest now.
Y/n sat with her back against a bail of hay, she rocking her Y/e/c eyed son, trying to keep him asleep. She softly hummed rocking Mason in one arm. Her other arm was draped over Carl protectively like a mother. Judith was asleep soundly in a blanket filled box. Just beside Y/n so she could take care of the small child, while Carl could get some sleep.
Maggie and Dayrl looked over at Sasha across the room asleep. "He was tough," Daryl remarks, referring to Tyreese. Maggie nodded in agreement, looking over at the sleeping woman. "So was she," Daryl adds, talking about Beth. "She didn't know it... but she was." Daryl hands Maggie the music box Carl gave to her. “I fixed it.” He spoke gruffly. Maggie smile as she took it. “Thank you.”
She then wakes Sasha and the two leave the barn. Looking around the barn they see the storm had killed most of the walkers or decapitated them, impaled or crushed by the trees
“I’m surprise the barn hadn’t fell down. It looks like a tornado has been through here.” Sasha says as she and Maggie made their way through the fallen trees to an open field.
Maggie and Sasha then sit down on a downed tree and watch the sunrise together. As they sit, Sasha tells Maggie what Noah said about himself, that he doesn't know if he can make it. Sasha admits that she feels the same way too. Maggie reassures her that she will survive. Maggie tries to play the music box, but finds that the box is still broken.
The two laugh, but their conversation was cut short by a young man, cautiously walking up to the two.

“My names Aaron, I came to speak to your leader Rick.” The man
The women are confused as they draw their guns and ask how he knows about Rick.
“I have good news!” He starts holding his hands up, showing the two women they could trust him.
Maggie and Sasha brought Aaron to the barn where the rest of the group was resting. Rick and the others appear to be wary over Aaron's arrival.
Maggie gives Rick Aaron's gun, which Rick keeps as he asks Aaron what his intentions are.
“How did you know we were here?” Rick looks at the young man. “I’ve been watching you all for a while. I needed to make sure you guys weren’t gonna kill me as soon as you saw me. But I was the one to give you guys the supplies yesterday.” Aaron informs the group.
Rick chooses not to believe him, and convinces the group that Aaron has another agenda. Aaron, knowing that he would believe so, asks Sasha to give Rick his backpack, directing him to a small set of photographs of his community which he had taken as evidence of its existence. As Aaron explains what his community is about and emphasizes on its security, Rick punches him in the face, knocking him out. Y/n shook her head looking at the unconscious man.
“He could be dangerous.” Rick said looking at Y/n with kind eyes. Y/n nodded as she hugged her young son close to her chest. “I trust you.” She whispered giving him an nod. He nodded pulling her into a brotherly hug, careful not to hurt the baby in her arms.
Tara look over at Y/n giving her a soft smile. Y/n smiled back as she pulled away from Rick. “You should get to know Tara, I see it in y’alls eyes. You have some type of connection.” Rick whispered into her ear. Y/n shook her head as she looked at Rick.
Before she could say anything Rick stopped her. “I know it’s been only a few months since Merle passed, but you should be happy. And before you say anything. I know your happy with little mason here, but still you should have someone there for you.” Y/n huffed knowing Rick was correct.
“I hate it when your right.” She said looking down at her Y/e/c baby. “I know, that’s why you don’t like me. ‘Cause I’m always right.” Y/n snorted a laugh looking up at Rick. “That’s funny.”
“Alright, you three,” Rick starts pointing at a few of people of the group. “Go out keep watch. Make sure nobody’s watching us.” A few of them nodded but Michonne shook her head.
“I don’t think Aaron’s a threat. I mean look at him.” Michonne tries to convince Rick.
“I don’t care, we still aren’t trusting him. Rick insisted.
“There aren’t many places for anyone to hide.” Glenn informs Rick, causing more panic within the group. As Aaron regains consciousness, he maintains a positive attitude, jokingly complimenting Rick's strength. Rick shoots back saying that they cannot trust someone who is still laughing after being beaten.
“How many people are in you group?” Rock asked bearing his flare gun as evidence of company.
“It don’t matter how many, it won’t affect whether or not you’ll trust me.”
Rick insists he confesses anyway, and Aaron informs him that there is only one. Aaron also reveals that he and his accomplice have vehicles that they had attempted to bring closer to the barn, but had been blocked by the surrounding trees.
Michonne tells Rick that she wants to know the truth by checking it out. Rick turns down the task saying that it is a bad idea, but after Maggie and Glenn speak up in favor, Rick decides to let everyone except him, baby Judith Y/n and her baby to go scout ahead, ordering Abraham and Rosita to go with Glenn, Maggie, and Michonne and the rest of the group to search the surrounding area.
As the groups leave, Aaron tells Rick that he used to be pointed at with guns before the apocalypse, due to his job as an NGO worker, and that he believes he and his people are good. Rick instead warns Aaron that if his people do not return in one hour, he would put a knife in the base of his skull.
Michonne, Maggie, Glenn, Rosita and Abraham are still walking towards their destination. Glenn warns the others to shoot whoever comes out from the woods, should the time come.
Michonne, horrified by Glenn's orders, voices her opinion. Glenn replies saying that people should not come to the people who have guns like them. Disagreeing, Michonne says that Aaron's community are not bad people, reminding him of how they rescued Gabriel, of how they saved Tara after her involvement with The Governor, and of how they saved a crazy woman with a sword, implying herself.
Glenn reluctantly agrees. They reach the specified location, finding a car and an RV, and realize that Aaron was telling the truth. A pair of walkers come out from the woods, one almost biting Abraham before Rosita intervenes. Abraham thanks her but is ignored.
In the barn, baby Judith starts crying, while Rick crushes acorns for her to eat.
“Why don’t you just let me feed her?” Y/n asks, talking about breast feeding Judith as she helps crush the acorns.
“You need that for Mason, it’s okay.” Rick says quietly.
“Her crying’s going to attract walkers.” Aaron reminds the two from his spot. tied to the barn's support.
“Look, just take the applesauce from my bag. I promise it’s safe to eat.” . Aaron insists.
Still cautious of Aaron's intentions, Rick extracts a spoonful of the apple sauce from the supplied jar and offers it to Aaron, telling him to eat it first as a precaution.
Aaron, realizing what he is doing and taking offense from it, refuses, saying that poisoning his baby would be the last thing he would have ever done.
Rick, however, insists, even after Aaron informs him that he dislikes apple sauce. Against his wishes, he consumes it. After realizing it is safe, Rick rushes back and shares the sauce with Judith. Rick reminds Aaron that he has 43 minutes left.
“Thank you.” Y/n mouthed to the man tied to the barn support. He nodded softly with a smile while Y/n walked over to the corner of the room. A soft little whine caught his attention. Looking over he seen Y/n picking up a baby, who seemed to be around 5 maybe six months old. He noticed Y/n was about to feed her baby and redirected his eyes elsewhere.
“How did you know he needed to be fed before he cried?” Aaron asked Y/n as she covered herself so she wasn’t exposed.
“A mother’s instinct I guess.” She answered honestly. “Are you the mom to them both?” Aaron asked, looking at the Y/h/c haired woman.
“No, just him.” She answered nodding down to her son she was breast feeding.
Aaron nodded noticing Rick wasn’t looking very happy at the mention of his daughter not having a mom.
“But I like to think I’m a momma to the both of them.” Y/n says softly. “I may not be biologically, but I take care of these kids like they are mine.” She says talking about Carl and Judith not just her and merles son, Mason.
Months after being in Alexandria:
Y/n stood in front of the gray crib. Watching as her son slept soundly. It had became such a habit of watching her son sleep. She could barely leave him in the crib for five minutes. She always had to be near him, no matter what.
Y/n heard a knock on the door and hummed softly as she left her sleeping sons room and went to answer the door.
Opening the door she seen Tara who seemed to be a little nervous.
“Tara, why are you knocking? You leave here too.” Tara nodded nervously as she looked into Y/ns beautiful y/e/c eyes.
“I know, but I was just trying to see if you were home, and I didn’t want to rush in their and wake the baby.” She answered, almost too quickly.
“Oh, well, did you need anything?” Y/n asked opening the door wider for Tara to come in. Tara smile walking into the door and to the kitchen where she had smelt the warm black coffee.
“I never would’ve thought I would have coffee ever again.” Tara rambled, not getting to the point of her being in the house instead of being on a run like Y/n had thought.
“Well, Thank God for the people here. If it wasn’t for them we wouldn’t have the hot running water, clean clothes, shelter and food.”
Tara nodded as she took a sip of the coffee.
“I didn’t come in here for coffee though. I Umm... I came in here to tell you something.” She started, grabbing Y/ns hands into her own.
“I like you Y/n. Like, like you, like you. I think I’m in love with you. Seeing you with Mason, makes me feel like I want that, but with you. I see you and I see the person I want a future with. The woman I have grown to love. The woman who is strong and powerful. The woman who protects her children.” Tara confessed her love for Y/n.
Y/n smiled looking at Tara. “I love you too. I have for a whole now, but I just thought it was too soon from Merles death. But I talk to Dayrl and Rick about it. I think I’m ready. I want to be with you.” Y/n said looking into Taras soft brown eyes and then to her soft plump pink lips.
Tara leaned in slowly placing a soft kiss on Y/ns lips. And that was the beginning of their story.

Halloween - Georgia Spin-off
A/N: This takes place a few years in the future. Savannah is thirteen. I just wanted to do something nice for you guys and I know some of you had mentioned some ideas of what you wanted to see for them in the future.
\\\
“Dad hurry up!” Savannah shouted down the hallway of the small apartment. Two bedrooms above the Pharmacy felt like plenty of space when you’d first moved in but Savannah was thirteen now and it was beginning to feel cramped. When there was no reply from the bedroom she huffed and turned back to the couch, smiling, “are you excited? Can you say trick or treat?”
The almost 18 month old sitting on the couch, dressed as a deer (as per Savannah’s request) smiled before attempting to repeat her. After struggling on the T for a minute he produced a shaky “tricker,” and dissolved into laughter.
“Yer gonna scare ‘im with that get-up.” Daryl admonished, finally coming into the room. He was pulling his vest and jacket on as you emerged from the bedroom behind him.
Savannah sneered at her dad and faked a laugh, “your not funny.” She’d been moody all week and when she wasn’t she was neurotically trying to coordinate Halloween costumes.
“Hear that,” Daryl asked, scooping the baby up into his arms, “I ain’t funny Wyatt.”
“Dad!” Savannah whined, looking passed him to you, “mom, make him stop.”
“No luck Anna. Come on, grab your backpack and we’ll go out to the truck.” You suggested, waving to the empty backpack she had designated for her trick-or-treat bag. She was a zombie and she’d managed to convince Daryl to do the zombie makeup on her after you had deemed the task ‘too complicated’ for your basic knowledge of anything more complicated than a lipstick application. You were into your early thirties and you still hadn’t mastered a smokey eye, there was no way you were capable of making your kid look like she’d risen from the dead.
Daryl had been helpful but also not. He did the makeup that she wanted, even spent hours sitting with her watching youtube makeup tutorials to try and perfect the craft. He’d gotten the gore pretty spot on too, she definitely looked like she was a rotting corpse. When she’d requested that Wyatt be dressed as a deer that she post-dead took a bite out of Daryl had complied with that too. But his first reaction had nearly derailed the entire operation because they had a enjoyed nothing more than teasing each other and with her current moodiness she was unappreciative when he told her that “ya look enough like a zombie in the mornin’ don’t need special makeup.”
“Carl’s being Indiana Jones and Sophia said she’s being cheerleader.” Savannah commented, leaning forward so she could talk to you better as Daryl drove over to Rick’s house. The neighborhood was better for trick or treating than the main street and the three kids had been going together since you moved back to King County. “Plus Judith is coming this year because Lori’s working and so’s Shane. And Patrick’s mom is finally letting him out to trick or treat but she said as long as he doesn’t bring home too much candy so he said we could have half of everything he gets...”
The current events update from Savannah continued the entire way to Rick’s house and only stopped so she could jump out of the truck and see Merle, who was standing on the front lawn with Carol. She’d giddily talked about the possibility of her and Sophia becoming cousins for the last two years though nothing had happened yet.
“Think we could pull back out while she ain’t lookin’?” Daryl asked, his hand squeezing your knee.
“You forget there’s two of them now...what would we do with Wyatt?” You replied, kissing his cheek and looking at your son through the rearview. He was the spitting image of Daryl’s baby pictures and shockingly well behaved almost always.
“Damn, guess we’re staying,” He put the truck in park and got out, unbuckling Wyatt from his car seat and carrying the baby over to see Merle and Carol. No one had been more excited, or more terrified, than Daryl when you’d told him that you were expecting. And the fear only mounted when he found out it was a boy.
After a weekend hunting alone though he’d come home with a renewed optimism about the whole situation. He loved Savannah and he knew he was a good dad, he wasn’t so shy about it anymore. Getting to be there for everything this time would be different and had been different but he lost the fear of it pretty quickly. You’d been through it before and you’d get him through whatever parts he was unsure of. Like always.
“I think you’re supposed to make baby costumes cute,” Carol teased, kissing Daryl on the cheek and taking Wyatt from him. Being the newest baby of the group, everyone got pretty excited whenever opportunity arose to coddle Wyatt.
“I only follow directions.”
“He’s supposed to my dinner.” Savannah cut in, leaning back against her dad and smiling up at him, “dad made me a zombie and Wy’s the deer I snacked on.”
“Certainly did a good job.” Rick commented, coming down the porch steps.
“Uncle Rick!”
The group felt like it was multiplying every year. It’d started with you and Michonne taking Carl, Savannah, Sophia, and Andre around the neighborhood but over the few short years since it started you had added on to the group. This year you had Carl, Savannah, Andre, Judith, Sophia, Hershel, Wyatt, and Carl’s friend Patrick. Enough for a soccer team maybe if they were all the same age. Rick and Daryl still stayed behind, using the claim that someone had to hand out candy though you were sure the only person actually doing that would be Carol. The guys, Glen included this year, would be doing the same thing they always were, sitting around drinking on the porch.
“Why am I always designated trick or treater?” You asked, securing Wyatt in the stroller with RJ.
“Ya want me ta take ‘em?” Daryl offered. He was holding the handle on the stroller, keeping it steady, though his eyes were on you. Admiring the view of his fiancée, even if you were just squatting on the ground to buckle Wyatt in.
“No,” you stood and came around to kiss him quickly, “I just like hearing you offer to.”
Daryl frowned and you smiled when his nose twitched a little, confused was your favorite version of him.
“I don’t wanna let you in on the secret but I probably should,” you teased, “most guys don’t offer to take care of their kids quite so quickly when they could be relaxing with a beer.”
He shrugged in return, “ain’t tryin’ ta be my old man.”
“God I love you. Let’s both ditch the kids and go back home.” You teased, kissing him.
“You two are gonna have another baby before Wyatt’s three.” Michonne called, walking up to the two of you. She had Judith in her arms.
The hurdle of Lori calling Rick that afternoon to ask if Judith could accompany her brother trick or treating had not been as daunting as Lori thought it would. All bad blood aside, Judith was Carl’s sister and Rick wanted him to love her as much as he loved Andre and any future child he and Michonne might have. So he had been welcoming to the toddler spending the evening with them and Michonne had been doting, Judith was sweet and Michonne was enjoying having a girl in the house.
“God she looks like Shane.” You laughed, taking Judith, “Hi Judy, are you excited to trick or treat?”
“Yeah,” she nodded.
“I like your costume.”
“I’m a princess.”
“I’ll say,” You twisted with her in your arms so she was facing Daryl, “look, doesn’t he have a scary costume.”
“Shut up,” he grumbled, nudging your shoulder.
Judith laughed and buried her face in your neck, shy all of a sudden. “See, she agrees.”
“Mom! We’re ready!” Savannah shouted, running down the steps with Carl, Patrick, and Sophia.
Merle left for work and Carol headed back to the motel for the evening while you, Michonne, and Maggie walked the kids around the neighborhood. Savannah took the role of big sister very seriously, as she had since the moment you announced that you were expecting again. She took turns pushing the stroller and, on a few occasions, brought Wyatt up with her to the door so people could see their coordinating costumes.
“Any Thanksgiving plans?” Maggie asked as you walked further through the neighborhood.
“Deanna invited us up to D.C. for the holiday and we’ve been thinking about going. It’s been since August that Savannah saw Gracie and I know they miss each other. Plus her and Sophia have been talking about going around D.C. together.” You replied.
“That’d be nice, I’m sure Deanna is excited to see Wyatt and Savannah.”
“Oh god yes, she loves them. And Aiden’s girlfriend is due in a couple weeks so she’s even more excited, she keeps talking about having all three grandkids in the house together.” You replied, “I won’t be surprised if she takes them all to sears for a picture.”
After trick or treating and pizza at Rick’s house you headed home, happy that the weekend was tomorrow and you didn’t have to get up early for work. Savannah was still wired from the excitement of the night though Wyatt had passed out in the truck on the way home. You volunteered to put him to sleep, leaving Daryl and Savannah at the kitchen table sorting through candy.
“Do you want the snickers? I don’t like them.” She noted, dum-dum bobbing in her mouth as she spoke.
“Nah, ya can bring it tomorrow though, see if Axel wants it.” He mentioned. Savannah was coming with him to the garage in the morning while you took Wyatt to the doctor’s. All his protesting that you never spend time at the garage when you were younger was for null, it was nearly every other day you were dropping in or Savannah was coming over after school. Axel, Tiny, and Dale loved the girl too and Axel told her some ridiculous stories.
“Okay.” She scooted off the kitchen table and wrapped her arms around Daryl, hugging him tightly, “thanks for doing my makeup, everybody said it was so cool.”
“No problem.” He shrugged, hugging her back. “Glad it turned out.”
“It was awesome.” Savannah pulled away, sitting down in a chair as you came back into the room and swiped a jolly rancher off the table.
You sat down in Daryl’s lap, smiling as his hand went around your waist. “Did you tell dad about the lady with the coffin?”
“Oh my god! You’ll never believe it...”

TWD 9X5 [What Comes After] Thoughts and Feelings - Late Response.
With things at work being completely crazy, I haven’t had the energy when I get home to work on my breakdown of the show, so this is a little later than I meant to post it (like cutting it close later!). But it’s here and I just have a lot to say about this.
So on my way to work / during work, I was listening to @dynamicsymmetry AKA Sunny and their thoughts on the show. They give a very honest opinion on the show and while I do not always agree with them, they are good to listen to when it comes to me trying to outline what I want to talk about / what I need to think about with this show. So give them a listen! I enjoy their podcast immensely no matter how I agree or disagree with something and to me that’s a good podcast.
So, onto the show.
I’m going to flat out be honest; I did cry. Not like burst into tears crying. But more like I just got emotional. It hit me that even though I knew Rick would be okay (I just knew this wasn’t the end of Rick Grimes because of the way the damn show was advertising it, the constant talk of the bridge, and the whole emotional investigation Rick had to this whole Savior idea AKA we all know that shit needed to be aired out before anything could be done), I wasn’t ready to see his friends and family suffer.
Seeing Michonne have to be restrained – just like she had to do Maggie back at the end of AoW was heartbreaking and it just hit me that the women on this show do not have good luck with loved ones (Or the Gay folks either). Michonne – like a lot of fucking people on this show – has lost a lot. She’s lost two sons – her biological and the son that was also a true friend who helped bring her out of a dark place – and she lost a very close friend – Andrea – and has now lost the man she loves and has only Judith left of anything that brings her close to Carl (since technically Judith is Shane’s… Or maybe not, but that’s what Michonne and Rick believed) and Rick (in spirit!) and it’s just… Maggie’s line about raising a child on your own… Ouch.
Daryl’s reaction killed me more than I thought it would, actually. I was ready to be hurt by Daryl loosing Rick but I wasn’t ready for the pain that gave me that, for a good reason, Daryl is going to never return from this and he is never going to let himself forgive his actions – how he lead Rick so far out even if he didn’t want to hurt Rick it still got him hurt, how he didn’t make Rick get on the fucking bike with him, how the last thing Rick said to him was “You, too” as in you be safe as well… There’s just so much there and the way Norman played that scene – the lip wobble, the complete pain and disbelief, the utter horror – was amazing and beautiful… It was just as heart wrenching as watching him loose it after Merle was found and he had to put him down because that was another brother lost…. Also the look they shared before Rick blew up the bridge like yeah thanks, Rick, Daryl needed that memory too!
Okay! Had to get that out of the way and just say, yes, I had an emotional reaction to the damn “death” even though I smelled and saw that shit coming two thousand million miles away… Sometimes being a theatre and cinema major can just make TV shows not as surprising to watch, ya know?
Now let’s talk about – first – the side story that happened with Maggie and Michonne and Maggie and Negan.
I’ll start with Maggie and Michonne because I loved that scene but there was a part that did actually kind of piss me the fuck off and I’ll explain. First off, you have two very strong characters – two strong women – facing once another with two different choices… But also similar views. We all probably agree that a part of Michonne did believe that, yes, Rick did not have the right to make the final call on Negan. There’s a lot of calls Rick did not have the right to make without coming to an understanding with the others. But I’ll talk about how I’m glad he tried what he did.
So Maggie wants Negan dead because of Glenn. Michonne wanted Negan alive to help Rick honor what Carl wanted. Like Rick, she also couldn’t let go of Carl… But Michonne understood things better and was seeing things better. I really wasn’t surprised when she consented to giving Maggie the key to Negan’s cell. Because as I said, of course she knows what Maggie feels. Because she understands. But she wanted to give this to Rick and to what Carl wanted… But it isn’t up to her or Rick. None of the big choices with the Saviors and Negan should’ve been completely left to Rick.
Michonne steps aside and lets Maggie go… Now I’m okay with that. What I am NOT okay with is the line Maggie has about how she doesn’t know what Glenn would have wanted… That is complete and utter cockadoodle bullshit. Maggie… You are telling me that after all this time, all the private moments, all your memories with Glenn… That you don’t know what kind of person, what kind of choices, Glenn would make? Because I fucking know. I believe Glenn would not want you to kill someone in cold revenge and blood. And fuck off everyone who says “Well Glenn was gonna try to kill the Governor to get revenge for what he did to him and Maggie-“ NO. Shush. Yes, Glenn was in a dark place at that point… But Glenn DID NOT do it. Why? Because Hershel snapped him the fuck out of it and Glenn pulled himself out of that dark hole the rest of the way to be there for Maggie. He thought of her and his family before making a choice to back off. So yes, Glenn had his rage out moment. But he still chose to be bigger than his revenge and anger. Which is what I believe Glenn would’ve wanted for Maggie. “Maggie, I’ll find you” wasn’t just Glenn’s last words of “I’ll see you in the afterlife”. It was “I’ll find you in spirit and be with you and help you in your dark times”. That’s what that line spoke to me as Glenn was dying. That’s his final words to Maggie and I think, while tragic, it’s beautiful… So Maggie, dude, you KNOW what Glenn would’ve wanted and it’s bullshit for you to say otherwise.
I’m not gonna talk too much about the Negan VS Maggie shit, but I have seen people saying “he only said that because it’s what Maggie wants and he’s manipulating her” and… Yeah. A part of me agrees with it… But I also think not. Negan at that moment was still not completely in his head because of Michonne revealing what happened to “Lucille” AKA the bat. I believe that a part of Negan is a little unbalanced right now. But I believe he’s not so totally out of it that he can’t try to manipulate a situation. That’s something they told us. Negan is a manipulative person. That’s how he was in the comics and that’s how he is in the show. He manipulated the others to follow his way. He manipulated Rick. He tried to manipulate Daryl with psychological torture with Dwight. That’s what Negan does… So while I believe he was genuine in his “kill me”, I also believe a part of it was a manipulation to Maggie. I wouldn’t put it past his character.
I know a lot of people wanted Maggie to kill Negan but I’m glad she didn’t for her human side. I don’t really mind Negan. He’s just kind of a villain that is there for me… But I’m also glad because it gives us a chance to have this interesting choice of Judith being the one to become his new youthful communication with the outside world instead of Carl as it was in the comics… I’ll get more into that in a bit.
Now for Rick’s scenes. First off, I didn’t watch any spoilers for this episode because I wanted to be spoil free for Andy’s big moment here… And when Rick pulls his body off that slab, I about gagged. Not because it was gross, because God knows we’ve seen nastier shit on this show… But because I have never heard Rick in that much pain on the show. The pure scream of grief and agony and pain choked at me because goddamn you could FEEL that rod in his side as he pulled himself off it. That was amazing and I was there in pain with Rick. Plus getting to see him struggle to climb that horse (Rick, stay the fuck away from horse’s dude) and leave that blood on it’s pure white coloring was so… Beautiful and tragic looking.
Let’s start with the first visit. His iconic image of riding into Atlanta on his horse, an image so popular they used it to promote the show in season one and played it heavily in the trailers because of how surreal it was to the audience back then. It’s still one of my favorite TWD images honestly. And having Rick once again trotting down the road into the city was a nice little nudge… But also an interesting start for him to meet up with Shane again.
So before I get into Shane, we have three big scenes with Rick. His ride into Atalanta and running into Shane and the flipped over car. Ending up back on the farm, in the walker barn, with Hershel. Exiting the hospital hallway and stepping out into a sea of dead bodies and running into Sasha… The transition of these scene and the set up of them interests me because… They’re kind of out of order. Now of course we had the scene of Rick looking at his younger self in the hospital and looking outside and seeing birds turn into helicopters, so technically we have four big scenes with run ins with different characters. Because, yes, Season 1 Rick is not Season 9 Rick… But it’s the order that surprises me.
Twice Rick is back in Atlanta. Twice he in the hospital area. If you go in order, it should be Rick with Shane in the patrol car, Rick in the hospital, Rick going to Atlanta, and then making it to the farm. Now of course this is a fever dream so suspense of reality but I’m just fascinated that they even had Rick going to Atlanta… Because it really served no purpose. Twice.
We see Atlanta outside the window of the hospital room and then Rick is walking to Atlanta but he had no reason to be in Atlanta… Maybe if he had imagined Merle (Don’t see why the fuck he would since him and Merle were far from close) or maybe the time he met Glenn, then yeah I could understand the walk to Atlanta… But literally he’s in Atlanta and then he’s in the car with Shane in the field where he got shot… So I don’t fully understand why his brain kept taking him to Atlanta. Yes it’s where it started… But it didn’t serve anything in the fever dream… Again it’s a fever dream so it doesn’t necessarily need to mean anything but from a psychological stand point and from a viewers eyes and someone who studies film and scripts, I have to wonder why they wanted to showcase Atlanta so much… It just seems… Random. It’s really not but in some ways it is. Hmm…
But back to Shane. First off, I love Shane. He’s a complete asshole scumbag and he’s a nasty dude, but I really just was so happy when I heard we were gonna see Shane. I missed seeing Jon Bernthal outside of The Punisher and Daredevil honestly and plus, Shane was a big changing moment for Rick. Shane brought out just what Rick would do for his family. He made a choice and took down someone that was dangerous to Rick himself and the people around him. But also, it was a big change for Daryl and Rick to in terms of Daryl taking over as Rick’s right hand man and brought them closer. It’s also the big choice that put Rick in charge fully. He didn’t ask for it. It just… happened. Shane is the one who pushed Rick into this role. I believe that fully… That and I just always believed that the Sheriff in Rick was always geared to try and take over in situations. I work with our county Sheriff and I can honestly say that he would definitely try to take over as a leader in a live or die situation. So I think that was always in Rick. He’s not a good one by any means. But he is a leader type.
So at the farm, I was so emotional because seeing Scott Wilson made my heart swell and cry. RIP to this amazing character and to this amazing man that all I’ve heard is genuine love and appreciation for him from others around him and that makes me so happy that he got to have this final scene and moment with Andy and the show and as Hershel… But I will say, seeing him clean shaven again threw me off because no matter how I visualize Hershel, he still has his Santa beard lol. But they say in Heaven you’re younger looking and I thought he did look younger there so maybe he was Angel Hershel coming down to reach out to Rick (I don’t know if that’s what they were going for but it is what I felt and saw).
Anyway, Hershel shows up and has Rick look out across the land from the barn and Rick breaks down with apologies for what happened to him. But not just him. He apologizes for his family in general.
Rick: I'm so sorry for what happened to you. To Beth and Glenn. For everything Maggie's lost. Hershel: Rick. Rick: Maybe if I tried harder, done things different, listened more Hershel: My girl, she's strong, and my grandson, he'll only make her stronger.
Now of course it made me smile to hear Rick say Beth and Glenn’s name because it’s important that he acknowledge that he let these characters down. I do believe that Beth could be alive, there’s no hiding that I do… But even if she isn’t, it’s been a long time since we’ve heard Beth’s name and hearing that made me smile and sigh because it’s something.
This whole scene with Hershel was beautiful in that it was Rick talking to his heart. Hershel was his heart while Shane was Rick’s drive to make the heavy discussions – his strength. Hershel taught Rick that you still have to have heart in this world because you can’t just rely on physical strength alone. That’s what Hershel was for Rick. His heart and faith and this peaceful talk in the barn was just so heartwarming to me. I’m very happy for it.
So now for the scene that everyone was ready for and a scene from the comic covers… Rick in the field of bodies. So Rick ends up back in the hallway of the hospital he woke up in. Instead of running away from the chained door, he goes to the chained door… Which instead of reading “Don’t Open, Dead Inside” it reads “Don’t Open, Dead Outside”. Rick opens the door and outside we just see bodies upon bodies. Around Rick’s feet are the dead. Around his feet are the dead bodies of his family and friends.
Interestingly, this is where people from TD jerked up because we get a shot… of Beth. Of course it’s not Emily Kinney, it’s a stand in (I’m thinking she couldn’t come on due to maybe some scheduled conflict or something) and she’s wearing the yellow polo with blood all over her arm and none on the back of her head.
So here’s my bit of TD for you. One, I think the blood on her arm is from Daryl shooting Dawn. Dawn fell near or on top of Beth’s body when Daryl shot her. The way she jerks and falls down makes me think she fell on Beth… And the blood we see in the last shot of Beth’s hand, is Dawn’s blood. The shot we see of the blood pooling by Beth is Dawn’s since one, her body fell forward and when you have a massive head wound and lean forward, blood pools out (I have confirmation from my father whose head was split open after he was run over by a four-wheeler and the hole was big enough for my grandfathers hand to fit straight down without touching either side... A lot of blood pulled out every time he leaned forward or took a step).
Two, she’s not wearing the sweater and is just in the polo shirt and… Rick never saw Beth wearing just the polo shirt. I’m pretty sure the last time he saw Beth before the exchange, Beth was wearing the dirty grayish blue tank top over the yellow tank top thing and her jeans and boots… And when Daryl carried Beth out / during the exchange, Beth was wearing the gray button up sweater with the yellow polo underneath… So where is the sweater? Also, interestingly, Sasha is wearing the outfit she wore in S4. Daryl is wearing the outfit for season 9, Maggie from season 8 I believe, and Jesus season six and seven… Basically everyone is in different states of dress from different seasons and it’s interesting to me because for some that’s how Rick first saw them or how he sees them now… Or how he remembers them in general like with Sasha. Everyone except for Beth… Because Rick never saw her wearing just the polo shirt…
Now I’m thinking “Listen, Linds, this doesn’t mean anything”… But it’s a costume choice. This is the outfit they chose to put Beth – the stand in – in and it’s not an outfit Rick last saw her in or even knows… Also, the blood on Beth’s arm – on her right arm – is also the same side Rick was bleeding on and where all the blood was coming from.
Also, like everyone else, I did notice that she didn’t have her head wound… Now that doesn’t throw me off that much because like Sunny said in their podcast, everyone does look peaceful and a lot of them do have blood on them… But it is fascinating that Maggie and Beth have blood on them – we can see it. I don’t see any on Daryl or Carol. There’s a smudge on Jesus’s forehead to the left…. But I don’t see any on anyone else that’s team family… Which is interesting because Maggie is basically gonna be M.IA. for the rest of the season, Beth is considered dead, and it’s been rumored that Jesus is going to be dead (I don’t think he’s gonna die but I do think he’s going to disappear for a bit).
So little shit like that caught my eye and was fascinating to me…
On to Sasha! So am I the only one that was fascinated that it was Sasha standing up from the bodies… When back in I think S5, Sasha was killing walkers and then laying in a hole with them… She was laying among the dead. Now she’s standing among the dead with Rick in his fever dream… I thought that was kind of a nice little opposite parallel to how Sasha was then to how she is for Rick here… Plus I just was happy to see her. People seem to forget that Maggie isn’t the only one who lost someone she loved… Sasha had lost Abraham. Rosita lost Abe a long time ago and sure it hurt her and she she still deeply cared about him when he was killed, but Sasha loved Abe and Abe loved Sasha and she lost him and that really hurt her… So seeing her speak such hopeful, peaceful things to Rick… It was where Sasha was always trying to be with Bob and then later with Abe; at peace. It’s Sasha taking on the side that Tyreese was always trying to teach her to be and I think that’s beautiful.
BUT Like a lot of people and like Sunny said… I was surprised. I was expecting Glenn… And the stuff Sasha was saying is stuff I would expect to have Glenn say to Rick. So I agree with Sunny on that and kinda have to ponder if Steven Yeun simply couldn’t come/didn’t want to come or if they really just had Sonequa in mind… Also! I’m a little frustrated we didn’t get to see Carl or Lori. I mean I’m glad Rick saw Michonne but Lori and Carl were his family too, dammit.. I get it. The actors probably couldn’t/didn’t want to but… I don’t know, I wish we could’ve seen more characters from Rick’s past (I’m telling you, if Rick had seen Merle I would be cackling cause you know he’d say “Officer Friendly” to him lol) like Andrea or even Jim would’ve been interesting since that’s the first victim Rick had to leave behind/couldn’t really help you know? Or even seeing a flash of Sophia – the Barn scene was there but Sophia was also a big moment for Rick – would’ve been interesting… I just feel they missed a chance to really dig at Rick’s past. But I’m also aware they might not have been able to so… Yeah.
Now… I want to jump to the time jump. First off, I’m not sure exactly how many years have passed… Between season eight and none, it was said a year and six months – by Maggie – had passed since Glenn died… The AoW took place over about a week or two so… Yeah about eighteen months… So Judith had to be another year older, give or take… Now she’s supposed to be around ten years old (as stated by many articles) – similar age to how old Carl was in the comics (I believe he was 9 in the beginning) – and that means that she was around four/five when Rick died and that means that it’s been about five/six years later by the end of the episode…
First off, Judith Grimes is wearing the Sheriff hat (A symbol for Carl and Rick), has Rick’s gun (wonder if they found it among the rubble of the bridge looking for something of him), a katana (to represent Michonne), but did you all see that she is wearing a purple plaid shirt… Which is what Lori wore in many of her season photos and in the show… So they have Judith paying tribute to Carl, Rick, Michonne, and her biological mother Lori… Now we just need her to rub her head a lot and she can be showing signs of Shane (I kid I kid LOL!).
Is it a bit fanservice? Of fucking course it is… But who cares? This is a zombie show. I stopped caring about realistic shit forever ago with this show lol. Plus I kind of like it. It makes sense for Judith to be… Well, kind of a little asskicker. First off, that’s a tribute to Daryl nicknaming her that. Plus this is a child that completely grew up in this kind of world. Carl was still old enough to remember the old world. Judith only knows this world. It makes sense to me that she’d be more “adjusted” than anyone on this show. You grow as your environment allows and this is the world Judith knows… SO I’m okay with her being a little fanservice like… Now I just need to hear her call Daryl “Uncle Daryl” please!
And… I am beyond fascinated by her taking Carl’s roll to talk to Negan. To seem to have formed some kind of semi-comfortable relationship to Negan of all people… Think about it. Negan, the man who once had a Harem and who tried to kill her family, becoming some kind of associate to Judith is fascinating... It’s very similar to Carl in the comics (not completely since Carl was pretty vicious in the comics and Judith doesn’t seem vicious to me… yet) so… I’m very curious about this. Because Negan in the comic does a few things to try and make Carl trust him and even considers Carl a friend… I wont spoil that for those that haven’t read it but man I’m so so so interested to see where they take Judith’s character now that she’s older (Plus, hello, she’s played by Baby Rey! I may not be the biggest fan of the new Sta Wars movies but I did like Rey enough that I perked up when I saw it was Cailey Fleming… I can’t wait to watch this little girl get to grow her acting chops on the show).
So overall for the episode as a whole… It was a good episode. I’m heartbroken that Daryl has been off on his own in the woods in a crappy tent for the last five-six years but hey, least he gets a dog… That’s nice. I’m interested to see the new folks (especially Magna and Yumiko… Honestly, I’m excited for Connie and Kelly too because in the comics Connie isn’t deaf and Kelly in the comics was a male and Connie was his girlfriend… So they’re going way different here and I love it) and I’m VERY intrigued by the fact they’re focusing on Radio signals and reaching out to new people again.
Tonight’s episode is going to be fun, I think. I’m ready to see how everything is after the time jump and how they explain somethings and what’s changed.

Could I request something kinda angsty but fluffy with Carl Grimes? Plz and thanx :)
Enjoy!
“Imean, yeah I get it, but I just don't understand why,”you say as you follow Carl into his room.
Carllooks back at you for a moment, a smile on his face that hadn't beenpresent for weeks. Months. Years. You weren't sure how long it hadbeen since you and the group arrived in Alexandria. Time was aconstruct – one you had decided to ignore after the world came toan end.
“Youdon't need to understand why,” he tells you, closing the doorbehind you before he tosses himself onto his bed. You ignore theblush that creeps upon your cheeks as he ushers for you to follow hismovements. Slowly, you lower yourself onto the corner of his bed, placing your hands in your lap as you wait for the next instruction.
Hehad weirdly suggested you two play 'Roast Me.'
Youtwo had only ever played this game once before, way back in Atlantawhenever all you cared about was school work and who got the lastpiece of fish that Andrea and Amy brought home. Back then, theinsults had been tiny. Things like, “You're handwriting is messy!”or “Your hair looks like a birds nest!”
Backthen, Sophia had played with the two of you, and that was partly thereason you hadn't played it after that. It was a memory linked withher now – the third person in your team. Playing it again meantregurgitating those memories that you had so long ago pushed away.
Sowhenever Carl suddenly suggested playing it, you were immenselyconfused. The both of you were sixteen now, had deaths to your name, killed more things than you had seen living people. It seemedimmature, a waste of time.
“Youremember the rules, right?” Carl asks you.
Ittakes a moment for the cogs to start spinning. “I basically justhave to insult you.”
Carlnods. “But you can't get offended, and we have to stay friendsafterwards, okay?”
“Imean, I'm pretty numb at this point. The only way you're gonna get areaction out of me is if you stab me as you call me ugly.”
Carlscrunches up his nose, though he was used to your monotone and casualcomments about death and the end of the world. They had become a partof your everyday vocabulary, meaning he didn't care too much aboutthem at this point.
“Great!”he says. “I'll go first then.” You nod, suddenly growing aware ofthe mess of your hair, the shaking of your hands which hadn't stoppedsince the farm, the way blood still stained your shirt after multiplefailed washing attempts. His eyes trail over every inch of you, hislip protruding as he thinks for a moment, unsure of what to say ortoo busy picking something out.
Hesmiles.
“Isaw you using Michonne's sword outside a few days ago. You lookedlike Eugene whenever there's bugs flying around.”
Younarrow your eyes. The words fly over your head immediately – as youhad once told him, you were numb at this point. There was nothing hecould say or do which would hurt your feelings.
Youdidn't havefeelingsanymore.
“Right,”you grumble. “I see we're starting off slowly.”
Carlrolls his eyes, nudging you with his knee. “Shut up. I'd love tosee you do any better.”
“Carl,I literally saw your dad cook the chips from last nights dinner usingthe grease that your hair produces. I don't needtoroast you. Your family do it enough already.”
Carlraises a brow at you, a small smile quirking at the corners of hislips. “So tell me why Judith stillinsistson choosing me over you whenever we have to look after her.”
“Becauseyou're her brother.”
“Ormaybe it's because that frown you always have on your face isterrifying.”
Youraise a brow. “I don't think Judith is scared of a frown wheneverthere's dead people up and walking.”
“You'rebasically one of the dead people at this point.”
Youcan't help the laugh that breaks out of your mouth at that comment. It had been an on-going joke a between the two of you, him insistingthat you have 'no soul' which immediately meant you were basicallydead.
“Alright, alright,” you chuckle, waving your hand in front of your face.“Moving on from Judith. That poor kid doesn't need to be involvedin our roasting game.”
Carlnods. “You can go next.”
Youthink. There wasn't much to insult Carl Grimes on. He had a lot goingfor him – skill, good shooting skills, good looks (though you wouldnever admit that to him), which left you completely dry whenever itcame to this game.
Yousigh, thinking of anything to say that went more than skin deep. Hispersonality wasn't that prominent any more, either, with himpreferring to keep a lot of himself under wraps, giving him amysterious undertone. That was another thing you were robbed of.
Sowhat did that leave?
“Youbottle up your feelings a lot, don't you?”
Thewords are escaping before you have a chance to stop them. They settlebetween the two of you, and immediately you wish Carl had suddenlylost his hearing instead of his sight.
Helooks at you cautiously for a moment, the eyepatch and his hairmaking it difficult for you to pinpoint his reaction. But then hismouth is opening and closing again, no words coming out and you knowhe's equally as confused as you are.
Youdon't say anything. You simply think about what you said, notrealising just how much his secretiveness had annoyed you before.
“Yeah, you do,” you say, slowly. Carl raises a brow, clearly not expectingyou to elaborate on the subject. “You really, really do. WheneverSophia died-”
“Whyare you bringing this all up now?” Carl asks, a frantic undertoneto his voice which confirms what you had been thinking – this was atouchy subject for him.
“Letme finish,” you say. “Whenever Sophia died, neither of us hadanybody to go to. My parents are both dead and Lori and Rick were toocaught up in some damn love triangle to see if you were alright.Whenever Lori died, Rick went into a meltdown and you were left tolook after Judith on your own whilst he got himself together. Younever spoke about any of it with anybody. That must – Is that nothard?”
Carlblanks, staring at you like you had just slapped him in the face, butthe rush of realisation grabs at you and you lean forward, taking hishand in yours without even fully knowing why.
“Youliterally got shot in the eye and I stillhaven'theard you complain about it, even though you have every right to.”
“Y/N-”
“Youknow you can come to me any time you want, right? We grew uptogether, Carl. We've been through everything together. You don'tneed to hide anything from me.”
“Likeyou do with me?”
Hiswords shock you. Hesitantly, you draw your hand back and place itback in your lap, narrowing your eyes at him. “What?”
“Youcan't pretend like you're an open book, Y/N,” he scoffs. “There'sa reason people worry about you. There's a reason we compare you todead people. You're so damn monotone and quiet and sadallthe time, and yet nobody knows why. Nobody knows where things changedfor you, because you don't talk about it. In Atlanta, you were one ofthe bubbliest kids around-”
“Iwas twelve.”
“-andnow you're skin is all pale and hollow, and you barely eat, and yourvoice never leaves that monotone state you always have it in.” Carlshakes his head. “Whenever Sophia died, the only person I ever hadto talk to about it was you, but you seemed so out of it that I neverapproached you on it. After my mom died-”
“Icomforted you-”
“Youcomforted me. You didn't talk about your own feelings about it.”
Youbite your lip, looking down at your crossed hands in your lap.Everything suddenly feels real, and it's difficult to explain. Youhad lived in a world full of dead people for nearly four years now, growing up around it, getting used to it. You had grown used to thefeeling of hiding your feelings – it was like second nature to younow. Opening up to people was a risk, and you had been taught that atan early age.
Butnow, sitting in front of Carl, your best friend, you realise thatmaybe it wasn't the healthiest option.
“Sophia'sdeath ripped me apart,” you whisper before you can change yourmind. Carl freezes in front of you, though he doesn't speak up.“Whenever she crawled out of that barn, I was sure it was over. Iwas already terrified enough as it was with Shane going crazy andDaryl yelling and Hershel being this – this hoarder of walkers. Butthen she came out of the barn, and it suddenly felt like I hadnothing left to really live for, you know?”
Youflick your eyes up cautiously. He's not making any facial expressions– just staring.
Youlook back down at your lap before continuing. “It was just thethree of us, wasn't it? At least, for me it was. You two were theonly people I had after my parents died and Glenn found me. So afterone of you was ripped away from me like that, it was like I waslosing another thing that was keeping me alive.
“Iwas really ready to end it all. You don't understand. I was really, really readyto just let go and let the world take me, like it had been trying todo. But then I remembered you, that you were still alive. Damaged, but alive. We all were, really. So I sucked it up, because Iremembered that you had also just lost a best friend, and I didn'twant you going through that again.”
Youswipe your hand under your eyes – no tears. You didn't cry much anymore, yet the feeling of tears pushing to the surface was stillprominent.
“You'rereally the only reason I'm still here.”
“Don'tsay that.”
“It'strue. I would have-”
Carldoesn't let you finish. He's leaned forward quicker than the speed oflight, one hand grabbing the back of your neck, the other resting onyour knee as he pulls you forward and slams his lips against yours ina way that is indescribable. It's frantic, swallowing up your wordsof self-hatred and honesty as if they were hurting him physicallyupon hearing them.
Youdon't fight him, because you want this. Instead, your hands wraparound his shoulders and tug him closer to you. You can feel youremotions running wild, the need to cry so heavy right now and yet thetears are blocked by the wall you had put up so long ago – the wallCarl is slowly breaking down.
Hepulls away in seconds, leaning his forehead against yours. “I want– I want to keep being the reason you're alive. I want to protectyou, okay? You're gonna let me protect you, right?”
Youswallow thickly, flicking your eyes up. “Since when did I ever needprotecting?”
Hepecks your lips – simple, light, unneeded yet appreciated. “Youdon't. But you know the rules of the game, Y/N – you can't getoffended.”

Grimes sisters chapter 8
Pairings: Shane x Fabienne; Daryl x Alex
Warnings: drama, Shane & Rick butting heads, survival, walkers, being kidnapped, Merle being an ass
Words: 2359
Fabienne POV
My night had been very restless. My conversation with Rick was omnipresent in my thoughts. What he had said about Shane. I knew that Rick was supposed to know Shane best but I couldn’t go against my hearts wishes, could I? But I also didn’t wanna risk more problems with my brother so I finally decided to talk to Shane and end whatever it was between us for now.
No one was in their cells except Carol who was looking after Carl and Judith, it was a beautiful name and suited her well. “Good morning.” I greeted them friendly even if I wasn’t that happy in that moment. Everything seemed to go haywire. All the little problems nobody would have cared about when we were still on the run were suddenly so important. The everyday life seemed to slowly creep back to us and I wasn’t entirely sure if I wanted that or not.
As I slowly walked outside to search for Shane and pictured in my mind what I would say to him. I was really afraid of his reaction. The sun was blinding me me as I looked around but I found him with Glenn at the fence killing some of the undead with crowbars and wooden pikes. I stepped closer to them “Good morning you two.” I said and smiled at them. “Could I talk with Shane alone for a moment?” I asked Glenn who nodded and moved away. Shane looked at me concerned “What’s up darling?” he gave me that signature smile of his. Damn he was so handsome I almost forgot what I wanted to say. “Well look...” I started a little insecure. “Let me guess… Rick talked with you and convinced you to back away from me...” he guessed correctly a dangerous edge to his voice. I was annoyed by all this as much as he was but I didn’t know which side to turn to. On the one hand there was my brother, my family on the other hand a guy I really liked and was maybe even able to imagine a future with. If we were gonna have one at all. I mean we could always be dead tomorrow… “Listen to me Shane! Maybe he’s right. Not about you being an asshole because you’re not but it is hart to build something up right now maybe we should wait until everything has settled a bit. I mean there is nothing between us anyways right? Just a bit of fun.” it pained me to say something like that but I knew that for now we had to keep a distance for the sake of the peace behind our walls. But my statement seemed to make him completely explode: “This is a bad joke right? It has to be. I’m being put up as the ass here… but right now you’re the bigger asshole here. You talk about the last days as if it was nothing?! How can you say that with a straight face?” he was really angry I could tell. I knew he was right. I was behaving like an asshole right now. It wasn’t easy for me either but I couldn’t tell that to him. I had to stay strong and go through with my plan. “You’re not an asshole. You know that.” I tried as last instance. His furious behavior scared me in that moment a lot. “we should give everything some time to cool down.” I said and looked in his eyes sincerely. But that response was definitely not what he wanted to hear from me. “You wanna wait? This has to be a joke. Where is the hidden camera? What do you wanna wait for? Rick is never gonna like this he just has to live with it. I’m not gonna let your brother dictate my love life! You’re doing everything your brother says don’t ya? I don’t need someone like you.” he startled me a lot as he hit against the fence next to my head with brute force. He just stormed off and I could almost see the steam rising from his ears. I couldn’t be mad about it. I understood him. I still didn’t think he’d react like this. A few minutes later I heard two people arguing and realized it to be Shane and Rick so I stormed toward them to prevent them from doing something they’d regret.
Rick POV
I had just finished my shift at the guard tower when a really angry Shane came running toward me. He gripped my collar and shoved me into the next wall. A little bit startled I look at him. “What was going on with him? I thought and freed myself from his grasp. “You’re such an idiot!” he exclaimed. After I was confused for a second more I remembered my conversation with Fabienne yesterday evening. She must have really talked to him and now he had figured out who he had to thank for that and came found me. “What did you tell her?” he asked furiously. “The same things I have already told you before.” I snapped back. I wouldn’t let him talk to me like that. “She is able to make her own decisions, like you said before.” I couldn’t hold back the small spark of triumph in my voice which seemed to get him angrier than he already was. “If it wasn’t for you telling her some stupid lies she wouldn’t have pushed me away and let me look like an idiot today.! He screamed at me. “Stop it!” Fabienne suddenly threw herself between us. Shane pushed her harshly to the side. “Don’t you dare push her like that again. I swear you’ll regret it!” I growled at Shane an stepped in front of my sister. I could see the gears shifting in his mind if he should say something more but he seemed to have decided against it. It was probably for the best. I turned to my sister “You okay?” I asked her worriedly and took her in my arms. I didn’t wanna ask her what exactly she had told him. I thought she had made the right decision and was proud of her.
It was already noon and the sun high in the sky but Alex and Daryl were still not home. The others and I had decided yesterday that if they would not be back at noon today we would try and find them. Originally Shane, Glenn and Maggie were supposed to accompany me but I was sure I couldn’t count on Shane right now. “The city they went to is east of here.” Glenn said looking at the map while we packed up. The whole time I thought about if I should take Fabienne with me or if I could leave her with Shane. Glenn noticed my discomfort “She’s gonna be fine.” he looked at me encouragingly. We grabbed our gear and drove off…
Alex POV
The first thing I noticed when I woke up was that my head was hurting like a son of a bitch. I forced myself to sit up. Where in hell was I? The next thing I noticed as I wanted to hold my head in my hands was that they and my feet were bound together. And where in hell was Daryl. “Hello?” I yelled in frustration about my situation. My heart was hammering in my chest. Adrenalin pumping through my veins. The last thing I remembered was that we met Merle and his explorer group in the town. Did they hit us over the head and kidnap us? I didn’t have time to filter anything more out of my memories as the door suddenly jumped open and in came Merle and Daryl. My eyes widened a bit “Cut her loose.” Daryl demanded of his brother. As Merle stepped closer to me he had this shit eating grin on his face that I hated so much. After he had cut me loose I finally got the blood circulation in my hands flowing again. I rubbed my wrists because they stung like hell. Then Merle left the room and Daryl and I stayed back. “Where are we?” I asked him. “Woodbury. The community where Merle lives. It’s reigned by a shady guy calls himself the governor. They want us to stay and I think it’s not gonna be easy to get outta here. I got watched like a criminal.” he explained quietly. “We have to keep quiet for now. Can’t take a risk. Got it?” I nodded. Why did Merle do something like this to us… me alright… but to his own brother? Asshole!! It seemed like we were free to go outside so we did but we always had a shadow who made sure we didn’t leave. I felt like I was in a prison. In a real one this time. As I looked around I saw a lot of people, even children. “So nice of you to join us outside. The governor would like to meet you.” Merle came toward us. He grabbed my arm rather harsh and Daryl stepped in “Let her go brother!” he demanded again. Merle seemed unfazed but let go of my arm. We followed him inside a big building like a town hall or something. Everything looked so luxurious and we walked up a big marble staircase which led us through double doors into an office. Behind a desk was a brunette man sitting. The governor I presumed. “I welcome you to my modest home. Please sit.” he offered. We sat down skeptically. “What do you want from us?” Daryl asked a little annoyed. “We want to offer you safety, a home. You should be more thankful.” the brunette snapped. “You only have to follow some rules and then we can live together in peace.” we stared at him questioningly. “Well everyone has their own tasks. We will also find something for you. No one’s gonna leave the perimeter, understood.” he smiled sweetly. It was disgusting. As if I would have taken shit from this guy. He made me really angry. And for all this we had to thank Merle. God he was the biggest douche bag of them all. Rick and the others had to be worried sick by now. I just hoped they wouldn’t try to come get us and run directly into this trap. “You should rest now. we're going to talk about this when you have found your place here.” Suddenly I heard a familiar voice “Dinner is ready.” A blonde woman stepped into the room. I didn’t wanna trust my eyes and Daryl was perplexed too it was Andrea. We had thought her dead. I got up and wanted to go over to her. But a guard stopped me. But I was not gonna let that hold me back I turned around and kicked him right in the groin. Daryl had also already gotten up but he was also being held by a tall bulky guy. Merle immediately ran to my side and grabbed me he pulled me down to the basement rooms. The last thing I heard was Daryl’s voice “Get your hands off her you bastard. I’ll kill you!” he screamed and fought against the man behind him. I found out fairly quick that fighting didn’t work so I saved my powers and looked ahead. Merle violently pushed me into a room and locked it behind me. Wonderful I thought. And all that because I can’t keep my temper in check. But this ass had Andrea who we had thought dead for so long. When we had fled Hershel’s farm she went missing. I wished I had listened to Daryl once and kept my feet still. Well sometimes my body did things my brain hadn’t approved of yet. I glid down on the wall and slung my arms around my knees. Waiting was all I could do in that moment.
Daryl POV
Merle really kidnapped us and after I woke up he explained to me where he had brought us and that he wanted us to stay. But I definitely didn’t want to stay. At first I thought we could leave whenever we wanted but I was proven wrong quickly. It was not gonna be easy to sneak out of this community.
After Alex woke up I pointed out in what kind of a sticky situation we found ourselves in and that we had to keep quiet for now and put our heads down. We wanted to come up with a plan when the time was right. I was also worried that the others would try to get us outta here and would get themselves caught or killed.
When I saw Merle I was surprised, than happy and relieved. But I quickly noticed that he had changed and not to the better. He had always been a choleric but he would have never done anything like this to me before we got separated. After they had taken Alex away I was angry with her. Why didn’t she listen to me for once. I told her to fit in and keep calm. “Where did you bring her?” I asked angrily but nobody answered me. So I also saved myself the trouble to ask why they had Andrea. Who had also been brought away.
They got me to a room I was supposed to stay in but the only thing on my mind was Alex. Was she okay? I had to find her. I got myself and overview of the situation outside. People running through the square seemingly doing some kind of work for the community. Alex couldn’t be far. I was gonna search for her tomorrow and maybe I was gonna find a weak spot somewhere to escape. I had to be clever about it to not raise too much attention. I prayed to something that Merle didn’t hurt her or I swore I would have kill him.

Prompt #39: Hey! I was gonna eat that!
for: @suzieqph
"Did you have any of Carol's peanut butter pie yet? God, I nearly ate the whole thing for breakfast today." Rosita gabs, the AR-15 tucked under her arm as the two of them walk toward the gates of Alexandria.
"Not yet," Michonne starts, "I was going to have a piece before we left but Rick had other plans for me this morning." She laughs a little, rolling her eyes at the memory.
Rosita scoffs, causing Michonne to laugh a little louder, "No wonder you're never on time for anything. Jesus." Michonne shrugs happily as her katana slams against her back with each step she takes, "Pinche puta."
Michonne bumps her shoulder into Rosita's just as they reach the gate. Aaron is quick to grant them access and the two women part ways, Michonne heading straight toward the Grimes residence, Rosita taking a right. Truth is, Michonne has been frothing at the mouth since Carol dropped off her famous peanut butter pie late last night. She had made one for each of the households in Alexandria and Hilltop. Rositara, Richonne, Aaric, and Desus - the house names that Enid had so lovely coined for them some time ago.
"You know, like Brangelina or Bennifer?" She relayed, shifting her eyes between the adults as they gazed back at her in confusion, "What? You never read a magazine?"
"So, what are you and Carl then?" Maggie piped up, shifting baby Herschel from her right hip to her left.
"Carnid, duh." Tara answered, drawing a laugh from Michonne, “Oh look, here comes Carzekiel.”
“You know,” Michonne starts, placing her hand on her hip, “I think I like Darus better than Desus. Or Jeryl even.”
Everyone got to dig into their pies, except for Michonne. She was going to have a piece as soon as Carol left but Judith and her diaper explosion had other plans. After an hour of fighting the toddler and getting her into the bath, she finally found a moment to sneak downstairs. She was just about to cut a piece when Carl, an hour late for curfew, came waltzing in the front door. She sighed as Rick's voice rang from the living room, "You think this is a joke Carl? You think you can just walk in this house any time you feel like it?" And the fight was on. She stepped into the living room, leaving the delicious dessert behind as she tried and failed to keep the two men from waking Judith.
She had even woken up early that morning, just so she could sneak a piece before her run. But Rick, as usual, rolled over on top of her, nipping at her neck and earlobe, whispering that Judith wasn't up yet. She again, tried and failed to swerve his advances and before she knew it, Rosita was banging on the front door. All day she had been thinking about that damn pie and nothing, nothing, was going to stop her from getting a piece right now. She jogs up the steps to her home and bursts through the front door, surprised to hear, well, nothing. She closes the door and moves through the house, taking off her katana and leaning it against the kitchen table. She should be worried. There's no screaming from the baby, no heavy footsteps upstairs from the teenager, no humming from Rick as he does, whatever he does. But that damn pie. It's calling her name.
She pulls open the refrigerator and low and behold, there it is. She pulls it out, to discover that a few wedges have already been cut out and digested by someone in the house. But, there's still some for her and that is all that matters in this moment. She slides the glass pan onto the table and spins on her heel to retrieve a fork and a plate for herself. She grabs the knife that was left by the previous pie eater from the sink and cuts a healthy slice for herself. She spins again, leaning against the table and takes a forkful, closing her eyes just as she's about to slide the metal object into her mouth.
Something ruffles just outside the kitchen window. Her eyes spring open and the fork halts just at her lips. It ruffles again and then thuds up against the house. She sets the plate down slowly and stands up straight, her instincts kicking in. She grabs her katana and heads for the back door, unsheathing her weapon as she tip-toes out onto the porch. She takes each step deliberately, gripping the white leather handle of her sword tightly as she moves down the stairs. The rustling continues, accompanied by the thuds against the house. How in the hell do walkers keep getting past the gate? Freakin' Eugene! She takes the corner, raising her katana above her head, about to slice down on whatever is in front of her.
"Michonne! Shit, it's us! It's Rick and Daryl."
"Fuck!" She hisses, dropping her sword to her side and leaning against the house as the adrenaline rushes through her veins, "Damn it guys!"
"Sorry." Daryl apologizes, throwing his hands in the air, "Damn girl."
Michonne lets out a deep breath, slapping at Ricks’ arm as he chuckles, "What are you doing out here?"
Daryl holds up a small, handmade cigarette and wiggles his eyebrows. Rick glances at her sheepishly, not knowing if she's cool with such an activity, "You want a hit?" Daryl asks, keeping his deep-set eyes on her as he pushes the cigarette between his lips and reaches for his lighter, "This is some good shit."
At first, she's confused. She doesn't smoke, he knows that. But as soon as he lights it and inhales deeply, the familiar stench fills her nostrils and her mouth drops open. He passes the small joint to Rick and she scoffs as he too, takes a long drag, "Richard Grimes, I can't believe you!"
He keeps the smoke in his mouth and throat for as long as he can before he exhales it slowly, a lazy smile spreading across his pink lips, "Come on Chonnie. Live a little."
She scoffs again and the men laugh, enjoying poking a little fun at her, "I told you she'd be a square." Daryl pipes up, accepting the joint from Rick again.
"I am not a square." She squints her eyes at the taller man, "I just don't do that anymore."
"It's okay baby." Rick laughs, pulling her into him to lay a kiss on her cheek.
"I'm not! I used to get high all the time in college, thank you. I just grew up, unlike the two of you."
"Shane and I," Rick starts, taking another long drag of the small cigarette, "We used to post up behind this little grocery store in town and smoke. He had busted some kid and instead of turning him in, they made a little deal and he kept Shane stocked up on the green."
"Oh my god," Michonne rolls her eyes and shakes her head but can't help the smile that spreads on her face, "Officer friendly used to get baked on the job, huh?"
"No, I'd always wait til the end of my shift. About an hour before I'd clock out so I’d still be high enough to deal with Lori.”
She eyes the two men as they pass the happy cigarette between each other, their eyes glazing over with each puff. Michonne is no square, damn it, and she is officially offended that they both seem to think that she is. She grabs the joint from Rick's lips quickly and places it in between hers. She inhales slowly, letting the smoke fill her lungs as the two men gawk at her, closing her eyes as she exhales and beings coughing violently. Rick rubs her back soothingly as she collects herself, her eyes watering slightly as she begins to laugh, "Holy shit."
"I told you," Daryl smiles, taking the joint from her, "This is some good shit."
The three continue to get high as the night pushes on. Daryl rolls up another joint, licking the thin paper before carefully folding it up and lighting it for her to enjoy the first puff. The group gets sillier as their heads begin to swim, laughing at the stupidest shit or really at nothing at all. They don't even notice Carl coming in late, again. He walks out onto the back porch, hearing their commotion as soon as he entered the home.
"What are you guys doing?" He asks, scaring them all as he traipses into the grass.
Rick hides the weed behind his back and they all stand up straight, clearing their throats and straightening their clothes as they try not to seem high in front of the suspicious teenager, "Nothing man. Just uh, you know, um," Daryl begins, glancing nervously between the long-haired kid and his parents.
"Enjoying the night." Michonne nods slowly, trying not to smile.
Carl squints his eye, licking his lips slowly as he eyes them all. It's going on one am, he's an hour past curfew, and they're all just chilling in the backyard. What the fuck? "What's that smell?" He asks.
"What smell? What are you talking about?" Rick shrugs, shaking his head as he scrunches up his face.
Carl nods slowly, deciding to make his leave before one of them realizes what time it is, "Alright well, since I'm home on time and everything, I'm gonna head to bed. Be careful guys. Love you."
"Love you." They all chant in unison.
They wait until they hear the door shut before they burst out in laughter once more, Daryl leaning back into the house and placing his hand over his chest and Michonne falling to the grass beneath her feet, "Oh my god, I am so high." She laughs, hanging her head in her hands.
"I’m fucking hungry." Rick chortles, just as his stomach growls, "See?"
"Same brother. Come on girl, let's eat."
"No, just," She starts, shaking her head, "Give me a second okay? Those kids can't see me like this. I'm the responsible one."
"Pssssh," Rick grunts as Daryl throws his arm over his shoulder, "Not anymore you ain’t, Chonnie."
She flips the pair off as they loudly clamber up the wooden steps and into the house. Michonne crosses her legs underneath her and smiles, resting her head on the house as she faces the sky. She laughs a little, again, at really nothing at all, but tries to regain her composer. Her head is in the clouds though, and there's no coming down, not any time soon. She grabs her katana and heads inside after ten minutes of trying to not be high. She walks into the kitchen and her shoulders droop as soon as she eyes them. The pie dish is empty and Rick and Daryl are chomping on the last few bites on their plates.
"Really?" She nearly screams, scoffing.
"What?" Rick asks, his mouth full, his eyes wide.
"I didn't get a piece!" She eyes her now empty plate in the sink, "I was gonna eat that, man!"
Daryl glances down at his now empty plate and chews slowly, "Sorry. If Paul and I hadn't finished ours off this afternoon, I'd get you a piece."
Rick snickers a little but Daryl slaps his arm. Messing with Michonne and her food was no laughing matter, high or not. Michonne shoots her husband a look and he drops his eyes to the table, swallowing his last mouth full slowly. She exhales deeply again, cutting her eyes toward the windows over the sink, "Man." She whines, groaning like a child on the brink of a meltdown.
"I can make you a sandwich if you want? We've got all that chicken left over." Rick pipes up after a minute, standing from his seat, “Or, um, there’s some of that casserole still.”
"No," She whines again, already heading toward the stairs, "I'm gonna shower. You guys are dicks, seriously."
"Sorry!" They both call, staring up at her before looking at each other with guilt.
After her shower, as soon as her head hits the pillow, she's out like a light. The sun cracks in through the windows at dawn, her usual rising time, but she doesn't even notice. When she finally wakes up, it's close to ten am. She jerks a little, taking a sharp breath as she sits up. Rick breathes calmly beside her, sleeping heavily as well. Good thing they didn't have any early morning duties. She sits up and yawns, stretching out like a cat before she stands on her feet and heads to the bathroom. She shimmies into some shorts and a tank and heads out into the hallway, checking on Carl first. The teenager is long gone and so is the little Judy. He's no doubt off to see Enid at Hilltop and dropped the tiny tyke off with Father Gabriel.
Michonne skips down the stairs, heading into the kitchen to start a pot of coffee and get some sort of breakfast corralled for the sleeping cowboy upstairs. She opens the fridge and gasps a little, before a large smile spreads across her face. She pulls out a small plate, with a big slice of Carol's famous peanut butter pie. She picks up the note beside it, humming as she reads over his chicken scratch.
Saved you a piece - Love, Carl

They walked, something told King that something was very wrong. She didn't understand why her father thought they wanted the RV, look at how many people they had. Then again, it was a cruel world the Grimes' knew that far too well. "Carl?" King whispered, she didn't want her Dad to hear what she was going to say. He looked to her and leaned in a little, while holding the weight of Maggie. "What do you think would happen if mom and Shane were still here?"
"I don't know, I do know that Dad wouldn't be here if Shane was" said Carl, a little fed up that King continued to bring up Shane. "You should forget him." But King couldn't, she didn't know what had happened, they kept it from her. It was definitely true that King liked her mother more than her father, but that was before the apocalypse happened. Now, she was a Daddy's girl, probably because she was more innocent than Carl, she didn't know a lot, but she knew enough. King knew enough about the apocalypse but not enough about what happened to Shane and her mother. King remembered how much her and Carl hated each other, she didn't know if that had changed or not.
"Mommy, Carl stole my toy!" King yelled running down the stairs.
"You stole it off me first!" Carl yelled, following her close behind, once he caught up he tugged on her hair.
"Ouch!" King yelled, as they reached the bottom of the stairs.
"Carl stop that!" Lori warned, "King, give Carl his toy back and say sorry." King huffed while Carl stuck out his tongue at her. King apologised half heartedly. "Carl apologies to King please."
"What for?!"
“Pulling her hair" Lori replied. Everyday they went through this, she hoped they would have a better relationship when they were older.
"Carl-" Rick began, but was cut off by whistling and King forgotten where she was in the thoughts of Shane, her mother and Carl. They were now running, King gripped onto Maggie's hand. King knew it, she should have argued with her father.
"Don't" Carl snapped his head round to see her, almost reading her mind, she wouldn't say anything. She didn't have the guts. King knew how her father felt about her...
King went around every person introducing herself and becoming friendly with the whole of Alexandria, although most of the group didn't like the idea of the party. King did. "Carl!" King shouted to him from the other side of the room, she was standing with a two boys and a girl, all around their age. Once Carl made his way over after having a warning look from Rick, King turned back to the boys. The girl walked away, she needed the loo. "Carl and I are twins, he was born first" said King, they both used the same sentence when they introduced each other, Carl would say, 'King and I are twins, I was born first', the difference was that Carl wouldn't smile while saying it.
As Carl approached Ron said, "you look more beautiful" which caused King to giggle away. Ron's friend made the remark that Carl and King were a spitting image of each other.
Rick watched as Carl made friends with them and King walked away. King was amazing at making friends but that was so Carl made friends. She wondered off upstairs to see where the girl had gone. Because she had been gone for a long time.
They ran right into the trap. In the opening of the thick trees stood the groups of men, now together, their car headlights beaming. The beaming lights shown up each aspect of them, while blinding them from seeing anything else beyond a few metres in front of them. They came to an abrupt stop and looked around in panic, Carl, Sasha and Aaron had their guns raised from what King could see. She didn't, there wasn't any point. They are outnumbered and put gunned by a couple of dozen. They didn't stand a chance, which it was then that King saw he RV and Eugene shaking on his knees. She was right.
"Well well well, looks like we had twins here today,". Negan, King had come to learn his name as he went round them one by one. Negan leaned down closer to Carl and King, it was their turn, "this never happens" he whispered and then shouted, "it means we have to kill two," he laughed. King could see there was no truth in but Carl and Rick didn't and they glared at her. She shrugged angrily, she was always to blame. Which was the same before the apocalypse, just because she made a few- "a lot", a voice in her head corrected- mistakes. "Who's older, huh?" He asked, looked back and forth at them. They didn't answer, King was looking to the floor, she didn't want to be blamed for something a little more permanent. She caught Glenn's eye as Negan stood up and walked to Abraham, and Glenn gave a little wink, she smiled. It was a little thing he had been doing since she turned up there with her mother and Carl. She was more interested in what Glenn was doing than Shane. Until her mother told her to stay with Shane.
"King Grimes" Glenn beamed and bowed.
She giggled. "Hello" she grinned, dragging it out as she grinned. Her face then dropped as she sat in the driving seat of a car he was fixing. She was tiny and her feet didn't touch the floor as she dangled them out of the car. She watched Glenn. He felt King watching and stopped to look up at her. She was looking down at her feet and was wiping her face, sniffing a little.
He put down his tools and walked round the car to her, he crouched down and asked softly, "what's wrong?" But she didn't reply, he wiped the tears falling down her face.
"Mom's angry with me... I didn't see dad enough and mom doesn't like me coming over here with the cars she thinks I should be with Shane but Carl doesn't like me there-"
"King." Glenn said sternly, "your mum only wants the best for you, and you think Carl hates you but I'm sure he loves you." Glenn smiled at her, making her smile back, "come on, we can talk later when we have dinner, you can tell me a bit about your dad." King nodded, feeling a little happier, she jumped out the car door with the help of Glenn. She ran off but looked around to see Glenn wink at her and smile. She grinned back.
"What are you grinning at?" Negan sniggered, bending down to see her. Her face straightened up and her mouth mouth was a thin line on her slightly tanned face. Her hair covered her eyes as it hung down, "so that's what your other eye used to look like huh?" King was too scared to move.
"We have different eye colours" Carl said, "she has her mothers eyes." He said, almost spitting poison out of his mouth. It as if she wasn't his mother. King looked at Carl, she was deeply offended.
King stared at her reflection in the mirror, it was the first mirror she had seen in a long time. Alexandria was so different to the place beyond the walls. She stared. She knew now, her eyes. They were the same as her mothers. Carl and her father never look her in the eye. Then, what she saw changed, she was like her mother. Same hair colour, slightly wavy, thin lips. The only feature she thought could be her fathers was the nose, but that was all. She was too shocked to cry, that's why they didn't like her. They saw Lori, not King.
"Oo ho" Negan laughed, "that was the look of death there. Did you have mommy issues?" Negan pretended to pout at Carl. "I think your eyes are gorgeous" Negan winked and stroked her cheek down to her chin. King had to close her eyes as she did so, she couldn't keep her eyes open, either that or pull away. "Is your mommy not here?" Negan purred.
"She passed away" King replied.
"She was shot" Carl said. The way he said it just broke King.
"Woah there, he does have some mommy issues" Negan said to King while pointing to Carl. "Oh dear, we have our first few tears" he said looking up at his men, who chuckled. He jumped to his feet. "So, which one of these gentlemen is your father-" Carl was about to say but Negan held his hand up to tell him to be quiet, "I think we should have a guessing game." He swung the bat around looking at Carl and King, "well it's not the ginger" he said and swung the bat. King reached for Carl's hand but he snatched it away, therefore she closed her eyes, but the image was still there. Her hearing seemed to improve at that moment.
King felt alone at that moment as he tormented her, her father didn't say anything neither did her brother. "Who is your daddy?" Then he lowered his voice and leaned in, "would you call me daddy?"
Daryl leapt forward, almost like a tiger pouncing, "you leave-" he was cut of by being shoved to the floor.
"Aw no" Negan put his hand to his face, "yep, you see. Now I have to punish you for that" in no time, King was gone. The last thought was why her father and brother weren't the ones to do that. "Oh your not the dad... hum..."
Carl and Rick sat in the church, Carl was holding Judith. Glenn and Maggie walked in, she had traveled from Hilltop to say goodbye. Daryl sat at the back of the church away from everyone else, he thought they blamed him. He certainly blames himself. Father Gabriel didn't really know how to begin the funeral, this was too close to home for him, King was the one who helped him stay with them. She had convinced Rick to let him look after Judith when the walls fell. After King was laid to rest, the whole of Alexandria fell silent, no one really knew what to say to Rick or Carl.
Carl Grimes felt like he had lost his other half, he hadn't realised what he had or how he treated her until she was gone. He was so focused and so determined to see his mother in King that he ignored King. She was nothing like his mother, his mother only thought about herself whereas King thought of everyone before herself. She even thought of Ron before herself.
Rick Grimes was destroyed and yet he felt more guilty then anything. Guilty that he always blamed her. He had shown her he favoured Carl over her when he loved them both equally, but there was no way to tell her that now. Rick now meant revenge, and Alexandria knew that and they were ready.
King Grimes had made a bigger impact than she thought.
Thanks for reading and requesting and being so patient!

Sorry, No AdultingToday
Daryl hadalways been the adult. Even when he was a child, he had to suck it up and moveon. He wasn’t allowed to cry, or throw a tantrum, or hold his breath till heturned blue. Any of those actions would result in a severe beating and possiblya weekend in the hospital.
As he grewinto a teenager and young man, he was the only person in his half-circle ofacquaintances who knew what being a responsible adult looked like. He watchedhis brother and his brother’s friends getting high, getting drunk, sleepingaround and breaking the law, and was always the designated driver or recipientof the one phone call.
He tried hisbest to take care of Merle, but the older Dixon was too much like their father;he had a chip on his shoulder and a God complex. He made stupid decisions andtook stupid risks, and Daryl was always there to rescue him.
It wasn’tall bad though; when the world went apeshit,he was well prepared. He took care of himself and his lazy ass brother, lettingMerle take all the credit. He did fight Merle on robbing the camp at thequarry, and only lost that argument because Merle was high at the time, andMerle could lift a bus when he was high.
After Merlewent missing, he could relax a little. He stayed with Rick and the group andlet the leader make the decisions. He watched from afar as Rick and Shane grewfurther apart; their rivalry for a disloyal woman risking their safety at everyturn.
Daryl tookthe responsibility for finding the little-lost-girlbecause no one else would. Everyone else was too busy thinking about themselvesand whatever petty situation was bumming them out at that moment. Daryl hadbeen completely honest with Carol when he told her he didn’t have anything elseto do at the time; his whole focus was saving an innocent, frightened girl whohad a shit life. He wanted to do for her what hadn’t been done for him.
When he wasinvoluntarily pushed into the position of Rick’s second in command, he acceptedit willingly; at least he wasn’t top dog, and he was happy to do as Rick toldhim even though he didn’t always agree with him.
As time wenton, Daryl settled into the group and his position within it. He formed bonds henever imagined he would have the opportunity to know and felt more at peacethan he ever had. The only thing left to want was a day off.
When Aaronand Eric took them to Alexandria, Daryl was leery. After Terminus, he didn’ttrust anyone but his family; all others were a threat, but Aaron seemed like atrustworthy man and the group was desperate for a home. He refused to give inat first, he resisted assimilation in fear of becoming weak and less likely toprotect those he loved.
Then camethe super herd, the Wolves, and the Saviors. All of which were vanquished, eventually. Many family members had been lost, Daryl had almost been lost, buthe had something to live for, and more accurately, someone.
*******************************************************************************************
One yearafter Negan was killed and the remaining Saviors surrendered to live amongst theAlexandrians, Hilltoppers, and servants of the Kingdom, life became as close tonormal as anyone had experienced since the dead rose. Everyone was adjusting tolife again, as they had to do every so often in this new world; without friendsand family that had helped them build this life.
The losseshit Daryl especially hard; they always did. He made himself directlyresponsible for every one of them whether anyone else blamed him or not. Hisfamily had tried to gently push him back into the community. Reluctantly, andonly because he loved them so much, Daryl had ventured outside again.
Rick hadslowly brought Daryl back into the fold as his second; giving him more and moreresponsibility as time went on. Daryl was acting in more of a vice presidentialcapacity than a henchman nowadays, but he was happy with it. He had killed toomany people and just wanted to rest.
*******************************************************************************************
There wereno alarm clocks in Alexandria; everyone ran on their biological clock, especially Daryl. His body brought itself to life every morning as the sunpeeked above the horizon. His routine would normally include getting dressed, having a quick breakfast of whatever he could find, and heading out to findRick and starting their day.
When hiseyes opened, Daryl groaned loudly. He tugged the sheet up to his neck andburied his face in the pillow. He was tired; not just physically, but mentallyand emotionally as well. He remembered, back before the apocalypse, hearingabout something called a mental health day. He thought it was bullshit then, just an excuse to get out of work, but now he was thinking he might just callin for the day.
Falling backasleep, Daryl was awoken a couple hours later by a knock on his front door. Hewasn’t interested in leaving the comfort of his bed to answer it and ignoredit, hoping that he would be able to go back to sleep and whoever it was wouldgo away.
Soon thesound of footsteps stomping down the hallway stirred him again. “Daryl! Wherethe hell are you?” It was Rick and he sounded worriedand pissed.
“GoddamnRick Grimes,” Daryl mumbled into his pillow. He didn’t care who Rick was orwhat he wanted, Daryl fucking Dixon was having none of his shit today.
“Daryl? Areyou in there?” Rick asked as he knocked on the bedroom door.
“If I tellyou I got bit and turned will you go away?” Daryl asked back as he fought his wayout of the blanket cocoon.
“No,” Rickanswered, laughing. “But I will put you down. Hell, I’m tempted to do thatalready.”
Darylgroaned again and got out of bed. Rick jumped in surprise when the door flungopen with force. “What the hell do you want?”
Rick threwhis hands up in surrender. “It’s ten thirty; nobody’s seen you and your bike isparked out front. Thought you were sick or something.”
“Ain’tsick,” Daryl said as he crashed back onto the bed. “I can’t do it today; I justcan’t.”
“Do what?” Rickasked and sat on the edge of the bed.
“Deal withthose whiny ass bitches. You’d think that after everything they’ve been throughand seen they’d act like adults, but no. They reverted to what they were likewhen we first got here. Whiny. Ass. Bitches.”
“You’ve beenspending time in the library, haven’t you?” Rick asked with a smirk.
“Da fuck isthat supposed to mean?” Daryl said. He was about to throat punch Rick out ofthe house.
“You saidreverted. I’ve never heard you say that word.” Rick felt the heat of Daryl’sangry stare and looked around the room to avoid it. “I promised Carl and EnidI’d teach them how to drive. That boy drives like Lori; I can’t let thathappen. Come with us; it’ll be fun.”
Daryl sunkinto the mattress and pulled the sheet up over his head. “I don’t wanna and youcan’t make me. You ain’t the boss of me, Rick Grimes.”
Rick tuggedon the sheet a little and finally pulled it away from Daryl’s face. “NOOOHOOO!” Daryl whined like a four-year-old.
“Now who’s awhiny ass bitch?” Rick said with a straight face. “You’re a grown ass man,Daryl. As a matter of fact, you’re the adultiestadult I’ve ever known. Suck it up and start the day.”
Daryl sat upsuddenly and pushed Rick away. “You have no right to say that, Mr. I’m gonnahave a psychotic break at the mostinconvenient time”. You took a damn vacation and I took control. I made thedecisions, I took care of your kids, I fucking pulled your crazy ass out of theabyss, and you’re telling me to suck it up?”
Rick pacedin front of the bed and sighed heavily. Daryl was right, when Lori died and he checked out, Daryl took care ofeverything. He deserved to have time to mentally recover and recoup from thepast year and a half, but Rick was going to have some fun first.
“You’reright; I’m sorry. You deserve to have someone take care of you like you tookcare of me. Admit it though, you went to the library, didn’t you?”
“Goddammit! Why are you being an asshole? I just want to take a day off.” Daryl’s voiceshifted to a higher pitch and Rick thought, just for a moment, that he soundedlike Judith when she was upset.
“I’m justmessing with you. If it means that much to you, I’ll leave you alone. I’ll telleverybody you have a cold or something and I forced you to stay in bed andsleep. You fought me pretty damn hard, but in the end, you realized that takingit easy would be the best way to feel better.”
Daryl lookedat Rick and quirked his eyebrow. “You forced me? You can’t say that shit; it don’t sound right.”
“Why not? Irun this damn place. If I tell someone to stay in bed and take it easy, they’regonna do it.”
“You’re toodamn full of yourself. Besides, how many people are you forcing into bed, Rick?”
“You know Iain’t forcing nobody to do nothing. They follow my instructions because theyrespect me as leader of this community, and I can be a real charming motherfucker too.”
Darylsmirked. “I ain’t gonna argue with you about that. I know how charming youthink you are.”
“I’vecharmed you outta your pants quite a few times, ya know,” Rick said, feigningshock at Daryl’s words.
“It wasn’tyour charm that got me outta my pants, lawman. It was your giant dick.”
Ricklaughed. “Well, thank God for it, then.” He grasped Daryl’s face with bothhands. “I don’t care what it was; I’m just glad it keeps happening.” Leaningforward, Rick kissed Daryl tenderly, then stood from the bed.
“I’ll letyou sleep, and make sure you get more days like this. You’re the most importantthing in my life, Daryl. I want to make sure you’re healthy and safe. Justpromise me one thing.”
“Anythingyou want, Rick.”
“Let me takecare of you; let me make you feel good. Why don’t you meet me at the RV tonightafter everyone’s gone to bed?”
Daryllaughed. “You gonna teach me how to drive too?”
“No,” Ricksmirked, “but I thought I could take you for a ride, anyway.”

#TheWalkingDead Season 9 Episode 5 "What Comes After" In-Depth Recap And Review
I honestly have no words...
Sunday night's episode was the true embodiment of a rollercoaster ride through Hell and back. Rick Grimes' last episode damn well ended with a bang and it deserves an Emmy. His final episode was one for the records because, in my opinion, I feel that it may have been the best episode of the series. But, that's just me. One thing for sure is that Andy's acting in "What Comes After" was superior and amazing. Until the next time, Sheriff, until the next time.
Episode 5 opened up with a glance outside of a hospital room while a massive swarm of birds flocked nearby. And, to be more specific, Rick's Atlanta hospital room. The present Rick was telling Rick of old that he needed to wake up. We heard Morgan's voice ask Rick what his wound was. Pulling his hand up covered in blood, he suddenly hears the comatose Rick telling him he needed to "wake up, asshole" as a bunch of helicopters flew at him. When he woke, he was on the rebar being engulfed by two hordes slowly closing in. Rick being Rick, acted quick and hoisted himself up and pulled himself from the rebar. He crawled onto the panicked steed which almost dumped him again then quickly was straightened out and on a steady trot away from the community fork.
In the next scenes, Jadis was in what appeared to be Heath's RV. (Could this be what happened to him?) Her radio comes on, and the man from the Junkyard communication came on asking for a status update. She tells him she has his 'A' and is at a location near the Junkyard. She tells him she needs them and is desperate. She tells him that she'll be ready. Rick is leading the massive horde and fighting the fading. He's telling himself that he has to stay awake. In between fadings, Rick's flashing back. He sees the farm, the overturned car that landed him in the hospital and the hospital bed he woke in. When Rick comes back, walkers are close to grabbing him. He kicks up the horse's pace until they're far enough away. Maggie and her guard spot a walker. Maggie tests out her crowbar and kills it... overly kills it. Rick is fighting another fade when he spots a mailbox and kicks it into hyperdrive. The horse runs, and Rick gets off. He stumbles into the shack and finds evidence of someone dying in there. As soon as he sits, he passes out.
Rick begins to hallucinate that he is leading that massive horde back to Atlanta. When he and the white horse come into the city and round the bus, Shane is seen sitting in their old squad car. Someone asks "what's your wound?" Shane laughs and says, "Damn cowboy, you look like shit." The scene shifts to Rick asking Shane what "this" is about. The two are in the old squad car looking out at the overturned car that they shot up. Shane tells Rick that he knows what it's about. "You know, you say you're looking for your family when you should be saying you're looking for my family. How's my baby girl anyways? She has my eyes, doesn't she?" Rick laughs and says that she has his nose. Rick calls Shane an asshole and Shane says that he is THE asshole. Shane calls Rick one too. Shane calms things down and tells Rick he really stepped up to the plate and even took a page from his playbook. Rick apologizes for what he did to him, Shane tells him that he needs him to regain that fire, that rage. The fight of the machete and freak that he ripped his throat from. Shane suddenly jumps at Rick and yells "wake up!" just as a walker is about to chomp down. Rick can avoid the flesh eater and kick open a shut door. He crawls to the horse, and the horse takes off.
Michonne was working on expansion plans and taking care of Motherly duties when Scott came by to tell her that Maggie was there. Michonne rushed out to intersect Maggie and to talk her down. Michonne said to her that killing Negan would only start something they didn't want. Maggie begged Michonne to tell her something that would work to take away the anger and the hostility but she couldn't. Michonne handed over the keys and Maggie went in. After laughing, Negan asked Maggie, "she just gave up the keys, huh?"
He admitted that although Michonne had the sword, Maggie had the fire. Shocked, she asked if he remembered her. He did. She told him that was good and to get on his knees. Negan immediately began to taunt her with things he knew would put her on tilt. He began to tell her that her screams echoed as he bashed Glenn's brains in, that killing Glenn was rather enjoyable and that he hoped she had the guts actually to kill him. After he knelt, she told him to get into the light. When he wouldn't, she drug him out. He looked awful. Negan then began to beg for her to kill him. He begged and taunted. He begged for death, but she wouldn't give him that. No. "I came to kill Negan. You're worse than dead." She told him to get back into his cell. He does as he cries. (Damn, that broke me apart.) When Maggie left, Michonne saw that there was no blood on the crowbar. Maggie sighed. Maggie's guard ran up and told them that there was a problem at the camp.
Rick is fighting the fading as best as he can, but it finally catches up to him. He passed out on the horse's back. He flashes back to Hershel's farm inside the barn where Hershel waited for him. Rick embraced Hershel and apologized for his death, Beth's, Glenn's and blamed himself. Hershel told Rick not to worry about Maggie or his grandson. Rick tells Hershel he's looking for his family and what he wished for him and Carl hasn't been an easy task. Hershel tells Rick that 'it' will happen for all of them. Rick tells Hershel he's tired. Rick asks Hershel if he will find his family where they were. Hershel tells Rick that Rick has to wake up. Rick does for a moment then passes out again. This time, he visits the Atlanta hospital hallway where you hear a male voice ask "what's your wound?" Rick stumbles through the corridor and shoves the hanging wires. He goes to the "DON'T OPEN DEAD INSIDE" door and opens it. The light is so blinding but when it dims you can see thousands upon thousands of dead below Rick's feet. Daryl, Maggie, Beth, Rosita, Jesus, Carol and more lay lifeless below his feet. Then, Sasha stands. Confused, Rick says "They're all dead." Sasha tells him "yeah, and it's okay." Rick asks her why its okay that they're all dead and she tells him that they all served their purpose just like she did, he did and that endless one before them did. Rick tells her that it feels as if its all ending and Sasha tells him that little things do come to an end, but as a whole, it continues. Sasha tells him that no one truly dies and that nothing revolved around anyone in particular. "I don't think it just evens out. I think it always crosses over. Toward good, toward the brave, toward love." Sasha tells him that he won't find his family because his family isn't lost. Sasha tells Rick he isn't lost. Sasha tells him he has to wake up though and he does. By hitting the ground. Rick's horse runs off from the camp and walkers from a previous battle linger. Rick kills them quickly, but the horde is approaching fast.
Rick gathers the strength to throw dead walks off of him and begin to wall toward the bridge. He stumbles quickly ahead but falls. As the walkers near him, he watches as help comes. Daryl, Michonne, Maggie, and others rush to take down the pack. Michonne begins to him and tells him that it's not over because "we don't die." She tells him that she fell in love with him because he is a fighter! Because he never gives up. He says that they're his family but "this" isn't real. "I found you." He tells her. She says it is real and he has to wake up. When he does, he's at the foot of the bridge with walkers comic for him.
Rick stands up and stumbles to the other side. He smiled as they began to cross but frowned when the bridge held up. He turned, and a walker was about to bite down when an arrow came flying in. Daryl nodded at Rick. Michonne, Maggie and Carol ran to try and divert the pack, but there was too many. Rick stared for the longest minute then noticed fallen TNT. Michonne calls out to Rick as he raised his Python. "I found em." He fired, and the entire bridge blew. Daryl stared in shock and began to cry (as did I again), and Michonne went ballistic. Maggie and Carol held her back as she fought them and cried. In complete shock, Daryl walked away without a sound... Jadis saw the black smoke and radioed her man. She looked down the river and saw all of the bodies floating. As the helicopter nears, she spots Rick! He's alive! She radios that she has a strong "B" and wishes to make the trade still. After a moment, the helicopter lands and Jadis goes to Rick. When Rick comes to, he is oxygenated and bandaged up. She tells him that he's going to be okay. The helicopter flies away without a single interruption.
In the final scene of the episode, a group is seen in that exact field six years later being pursued by a pack of walkers. They fight but they are quickly surrounded by walkers suddenly drop, and a small voice tells them to hurry her way. They do. She asks for names, and the head woman tells the girl that its "Connie and Kelly, Luke and Yumiko" and herself was Magna. When they ask for a name, she picks up Carl's sheriff hat, holsters Rick's python and has a small katana. "Judith. Judith Grimes." She tells them.
What did YOU think of Rick Grimes' final episode? Let me know in the comments below!
Honestly, this is one of if not the best episode of the series for me. Although Rick did leave, it was still amazing. Both Andy and Jeffrey Dean Morgan were stellar in this episode with their scenes as well as Danai. But Andy's performance was that of award-winning. Andy, you will be missed. I love you; I can't wait to see you back in action in the movies coming soon!

Alex POV
It had roughly been a year since Fabienne vanished and we hadn‘t found her. Two weeks had been spent searching every corner in a 15 mile radius around that abandoned hotel in the woods. It took everything we had but after that time we had to admit that it was to no use to keep searching and probably endanger someone else from the group. Everyday spent in small troops out there was a risk. So at some point we just packed our bags and left everything behind. Here and there we found a refuge along the way to rest and scavenge for supplies.
Then something surprisingly wonderful happened. A few month on the road fighting for life and death we encountered a tall man named Aaron. He told us about a community called Alexandria. I thought it fit kinda perfect. The people there had lived behind the walls since the start and had no idea how it was going on outside. Most of them had never seen a walker up close let alone killed one. And so they needed our help protect and gather supplies in the real world. At first we were skeptical about those people, it could have ended badly but together we decided to give it a careful chance. We deserved some normality.
By now we had already been living in Alexandria for about three months. It was a different way of living behind those feet high walls. Enough food, water, medicine and even electricity and running water. In the beginning I had stood under the shower and in front of the faucet for hours at a time just enjoying some clean water. We even planted our own food which brought my memories painfully back to my lost sister. I thought about her from time to time. What was she up to? Had she found a place to stay? Or was she dead? Maybe they had all been lying and time didn’t heal all wounds.
The community was led by Deanna Monroe. Together with her husband Reg, who had been a Professor of Architecture before, and her two sons Spencer and Aiden, who were douche-bags, she had built this town up and secured it after the outbreak. She was really intelligent I had to give her that but she had no idea how to fight and never taught the others how to survive outside of their cocoon. In case that the walls should have fallen the inhabitants of Alexandria would have been useless and a danger to themselves. So Rick convinced Deanna to let the people who wanted to learn how to defend themselves and how to kill walkers. And that was the right strategy. We were able to do longer supply runs and had more people to stand guard on the watchtowers.
But after Deanna’s husband Reg died tragically, she changed a lot. She gave the reigns to Rick more often so he led the community.
One evening when we sat at a bonfire we suddenly heard loud female screams. Immediately Daryl and Rick grabbed their weapons and ran toward the sound. Shocked we saw that it was Deanna being attacked by a walker that had already bitten her. She was bleeding badly and there was nothing we could have done so Rick rammed his knife into the walkers skull and with her last strength she pointed toward the gate that somebody hadn’t fully closed. The walker had slipped through the gap. Deanna had lost a lot of blood and died then so Daryl put her out of her misery. The next day we buried her in the small graveyard on the premises.
Even that had already been a month ago and Rick had taken over completely since.
Rosita, Abraham and Aaron had just arrived back from a supply run. Since our arrival Aaron and I had really bonded, we could talk about anything. I embraced him lovingly. Relieved he was back. “You were gone forever!” I exclaimed. He just laughed as an answer. They had departed about 10 days before. “But we have found a lot of useful stuff.” he stated and so I started helping him and the others unload the vehicle. Even Daryl had arrived beside me and started to help. “Hey sweetheart.” he grumbled and kissed me. It was rare of him to show affection in public that was normally only going on behind closed doors. A few months ago we had finally made it official that we were a couple and it felt damn good. I smiled at him and together we unpacked everything and stowed it away.
I took a look around the storage garage that was finally full again and clapped Aaron on his shoulder “Real good job you did out there!” no one would have thought to be able to live like that again. Without starvation and fear.
Daryl entered the house we were living in together with Rick, Carl, Michonne and Judith. “Good evening.” I greeted him smiling. I was cooking our favorite. Spaghetti Bolognese. “Dinner will be ready in a bit, care to call the others?” I requested. He nodded and left to find them. Shortly after I had already set the table and was just putting the pot on a coaster while the others sat down. “I hope you’ll like it.” I blushed a little. “If it tastes only half as good as it smells it’ll be fantastic. Plus you know little sister, we love everything you make.” Rick smiled at me reassuringly. Eating together had become some kind of a ritual when no one was on a supply run or otherwise occupied and it was the most normal thing we could have done. “It’s really good Alex. Thank you.” Carl mumbled mouth full of spaghetti while Rick was silently throwing condemning glances at him.
When we were done eating Rick offered his help but I declined. He should take the time with his kids and relax a little.
Just when I had finished washing the dishes, Daryl joined me. When I didn’t spare him a glance he stepped behind me grabbing my hips turning me around and hoisting me up on the kitchen counter. “I love you.” he whispered in my ear and then laid his lips on mine kissing me passionately. My hands embedded themselves in his long strands and I pulled him closer which made him moan into the kiss. Then my legs wound themselves around his hips successfully caging him in.
Next his big calloused hands wandered under my shirt with the intention of pushing it over my head but I stopped him “Not here. Anyone could just walk in. It’s too risky.” he kissed my neck before mumbling “They’re all sleeping. Even Rick and I closed the door.” that was all the convincing I needed so I let him continue pulling of shirt and bra. We had lost any kind of patience at that point so we made quick work of our clothes never stopping the kissing. My delicate hands glided over his muscular upper arms. He held two finger out toward me and demanded “suck!” so I did and when he deemed them slick enough he slowing slid them inside my achingly wet pussy. My back arched and I clawed at his shoulders biting my lip til I drew blood to stifle my moans. As suddenly as he had started this he had also pulled away from me much to my dismay but I didn’t have to wait for too long because only a second later he replaced his thick fingers with his even thicker and longer cock. He didn’t give me time to adjust before pushing all the way inside. I just leaned against his shoulder and closed my eyes moaning into his flesh. I didn’t wanna wake the whole house after all but he just felt so damn good. “Fuck!” was the only word I was able to say in the moment of passion. But then he started to finally move agonizingly slow. So I pushed my hips upward to encourage him to go faster and fortunately he did. “Shit, you so wet babe. Clenchin’ round my cock so hard. You close?” he hushed in my ear. My hands had already grabbed at his back leaving nail imprints all over it. I really was getting close and when his last thrusts got even harder and deeper I fell over the edge screaming which he muffled by holding his hand over my mouth. He kept moving a bit more helping me ride through my orgasm and then he spilled deep inside me. Pulling out he took his hand from my mouth and grinned at me. Then he kissed me again with so much love behind it.
We only grabbed our clothes afterward and went upstairs to our bedroom. The next day was surely gonna be a hard day again…
Fabienne POV
For weeks I had been running aimlessly through the woods. I needed to let everything behind. The pain of losing Shane was omnipresent and I couldn’t shake the guilt away. It was only after a few weeks that I had realized that I had probably scared the others to death. Rick and Alex were trying to find me but I had reached the point of no return. I had to deal with my life on my own now and I was sure to make it.
One day I had found a small hunting shed in the woods and decided to stay there for a day or two. It had everything. Even firewood and a bed to sleep in. That made me almost flip with joy because it
had gotten really cold especially during the nights. I sat down in front of the self made fire and ate my canned stew. Finally I was able to eat that stuff warm.
Suddenly I was alarmed by noises outside and thought it to be a walker or two so I grabbed my knife but the person was at the door and grabbing the knob so I hid behind the old sofa in the room. Walkers couldn’t open doors – humans could. I stayed at the ready and when the tall and dark figure entered the room I waited until he had com closer and turned his back toward me before I jumped out holding my knife to his throat. Immediately he held up his hands in surrender “Oho little one. Keep calm. I didn’t know anyone was in here. Put the knife down I’m not gonna hurt you.” boomed his low voice. Skeptically I took the knife down and back in its holster then I tried to make out his features but were only able to when he stepped closer to the fire. “You say you had no idea that someone was in here but you saw the fire. Who was supposed to have kindled it? Bullshit you thought you could steal something here, didn’t you?” he just pulled up his shoulders . My voice probably sounded rough because he was the first person I had spoken to since I left my people.
“I’m sorry I bothered you I can go now if you want me to.” he had already turned on his heel but he seemed a nice enough guy so I stopped him. “Hey. Wait! I could use the company. I’m Fabienne by the way.” I outstretched my hand. He turned back around and took my hand shaking it. “I’m Negan and I’m glad to meet you.” he had that toothy smile that made you smile with him instantly. You didn’t know what it was but he had something special about him.
We stayed together that night talking about everything and nothing warming up against the fire.
The next morning I wanted to be on my way again but I got an offer I couldn’t refuse. Negan told me that he was building up a community and that he could use someone like me. He wanted me to accompany him but I wasn’t obliged to stay I could leave whenever I wanted. So I went with him. A bit later he showed me what he had started to build and I immediately felt home. Week for week more people joined us and it really began to take shape.
The next eight months had been amazing. I had integrated perfectly and I hadn’t felt that homely since the prison. I was still thinking about my family every day and wondered what they had been up to since I had left them a year before. I was sure they were still alive. They were survivors. “What’s wrong darlin´?” Negan had caught me stuck in one of my deep thoughts. He fell down on the couch next to me. I sighed “Just thought about my sister and brother and… Shane. My boyfriend who got bit because of me.” he put his hand on my shoulder calmingly. “I understand but you can’t change the past.” he tried to build me up. I knew he was right so I nodded toward him and smiled weakly.
“You wanna get outta here?” he suddenly asked to change the topic. He knew how to lighten my mood. Always got me out of the emotional hole I fell into from time to time. I grabbed my gear and we headed out with his car. Of course this trip wasn’t only for fun we also wanted to make this a supply run. In a small town we had discovered earlier we raided a supermarket and got some cans and toilet paper. “We gotta find more stuff or we’ll have a problem soon. The more people we have the more supplies we need.” I agreed with him there. “I’m sure we can harvest some of the tomato and potato crops soon and then everything will be better.” I assured him and we kept on riding.
Soon we found a small bay and sat down on a large stone. “I come here to relax and turn my mind off for a while. I think it’s quite beautiful.” he told me. I closed my eyes and enjoyed sun and silence. The wind was blowing through my hair. When I opened my eyes I noticed Negan staring at me “Take a picture it’ll last longer.” I teased. I definitely didn’t wanna deny the slight sexual tension between us but none of us ever acted on it. I saw his baffled face and started laughing which made him laugh too. No one was gonna believe me how much I adored this man. Negan was a strong leader. Serious and consequent on the one hand, and on the other smiling and goofing around. Unfortunately he didn’t do that at the sanctuary very often. But that made me feel even more honored because he only showed me that side of him. “The smile looks good on you.” I remarked. He just shrugged again and the laughing died down. “I’m seeing that differently...” but before he could finish I stopped him “Do you think they will lose their respect for you when you smile sometimes?” you asked him just as a joke but he took it seriously “They need to respect me.” he just ground out so I let it be.
We observed the sun vanishing behind the trees and there it was again this positive tension between us. My head turned back toward him and our faces inched closer until our lips touched gently. So my feelings hadn’t fooled me but I still wasn’t sure what this meant and I had this nagging guilt at the back of my head that told me I was cheating on Shane so I pulled away and turned my eyes down “I can’t do this right now… I’m sorry.. let’s go home.” I got up and walked back toward the car. But before I could reach the vehicle a strong hand pulled me back “Fabienne you can’t live in the past forever.” he stared deeply into my soul and our lips collided again. This time harder and with more passion and want. Negan pinned me to the car “You’re right!” I confirmed him. I was only human after all. The guilt and sadness would always be by my side but I had to stop thinking about that now. I needed to start living again and he was gonna help me with that...
