i'm not even particularly fond of magnus or anything but the way a subset of the fandom behaves towards fans of him/his shippers is deeply tiresome to see

using the fact that was festival as a excuse for their lack of stage presence and engagement with the public is really a stretch. even the specialized media complained about this in published reviews about bad omens’ set. let’s take as an exemple the nexgen fest that happened one month later in São Paulo, all the bands where so engaging and happy to be there playing in brazil for the very first time.

maybe i’m being way to delulu, but imo when you play at a huge festival like knotfest, in a country that you’ve never been before, you’re not only playing to your own fans ofc (they’re the small portion of the total public), but you’re also presenting yourself and your work to a whole new audience that never heard of you before. your fans know you and your behaves, but what about the other that are having contact with your music for the very first time?

i’m very 50/50 with all this situation, i really understand all the struggles they have been through last year, but i also can’t excuse the lack of acknowledgement with us, you know. but yeah all this situation it’s way out of control right now. i just hope they come back to brazil with a headliner tour and do better next time.

What lack of acknowledgment? What are you guys wishing they would do? Stop the show and sit and chat? No… it’s just not gonna happen.

The unnecessary aggression towards the band for every little thing they do isn’t gonna get them to want to come out after a show and hangout. It’s been ruined.

I understand hating him for replacing Connor, but that wasn't something he really had a say in. He had to replace him, and he couldn't say if he wanted to or not, I mean he doesn't even speak to Connor in the scene so it's not like we know if he is aggressive towards Con or not which in my opinion would be a more solid reason to hate on him (but. we do have gavin fans so that's not always the truth)

Hating on him for replacing the almost-mascot of your favorite game is one thing, but calling him ugly and saying disgusting things about him because of it is another. My point is that what I've been seeing is not about Connor being replaced, it's usually how "ugly" Nines is compared to Connor which is incredibly odd given that they are nearly identical when Nines takes his silly high collar down. I think the problem is what has been plaguing this fandom from the start, favoritism-- specifically the favoritism around connor-- and this makes some people only like Connor because he looks cute or whatever, but they usually know NOTHING about the game aside from his story. This not only leads to hating any other character besides him but the blatant racism against Markus and the harmful mischaracterizations of the rest of the cast just because "they aren't Connor, sorry" (which I have literally seen someone say in a character poll. what the hell, man)

My original post was about the unnecessary hate against a character with literally no personality, but it's obvious the problem is WAYY larger than something that simple. Also, I do find people hating him for presumed personality a bit odd when people do that with the st300 in the Stratford tower and many more NPCs with small amounts of screen time and I rarely see hate for them since they aren't 'stealing the spotlight' from their 'precious boy'. Personally, I hate when people make Nines into a predator (not the animal kind) and have him harm Gavin for kicks, one of the worst headcanons imo. But aside from a few bad eggs, many of the headcanons actually set up a good personality for the guy, so I'm unsure why people hate him when what they are hating is usually an interpretation that THEY MADE UP. in conclusion, I just think some people in the fandom really need to take a chill pill or something to calm them down or find a more healthy way to channel their hatred than putting it all on some fictional robot guy with less than a min of screentime.
