I'll be having a normal time and then I think about the bench scene from His Dark Materials and immediately take 10000 psychic damage (/positive)
#his dark materials#also applies to Balthamos' death scene but only the book version#look him going “gay rights!” and disappearing is fine and all but in the book he got to drown a man and I think we were robbed of that.#but the TV show has a better version of the Marzipan scene so it all evens out
