Started reading drarry fics a year ago and I haven't read the books in like almost 8 years, so I don't remember all the little details, in fics I always read how Snape is Draco's godfather and I started thinking it was canon cause literally almost every fic has it! But now I found out is not canon, bye I'm heartbroken 💔

Fandom is our playground (and do not give terfling any money) but I do recommend going back to the original text to refresh on details/characterizations from time to time!

Nuances can get lost in the mix and I think the power differential & dynamics between the Malfoys and Snape is intriguing actually. Starting with little Snape sort of under Lucius’ wing and ending the series with Narcissa having to ask for his help while Lucius’ has lost his standing above him within the DEs.

How Snape interacts with Draco within that changing context is quite interesting even without any given titles in my opinion!
