If there was one thing you took pride in, it was your keen sense of hospitality.
You’d been raised as the type of girl to always be welcoming when a new face arrived, to be that guiding light for them as they adjusted to all the changes in their life. When you were little, your mother taught you to introduce yourself first, because you never knew if that person was shy or not. Of course, there was the usual ‘Stranger Danger’ pep talk, but it differed greatly from the new friend pep talk.
The first time you exhibited this wonderful trait of yours was in middle school when the foreign student in your class was forced to stand at the front of the room. He wasn’t necessarily shy, but you could tell he didn’t really enjoy being put on the spot, hands behind his back as he said his name and where he was from.
Kevin Moon. Age 13. Vancouver, Canada.
The only empty desk in the classroom was the one beside yours, and that was the golden opportunity to become best friends with the new kid. As soon as he settled into his seat and class had resumed as normal, you leaned over slightly and cupped a hand over your mouth to whisper loud enough that he could hear.
“Hi! I’m Y/N!”
He gave you a small smile in return and from then on, you and Kevin Moon were the best of friends.
The second time you proved your kindness was your freshman year of college. It was still syllabus week, but your professor had sent out an email over the weekend with papers that needed to be printed and brought to class. The guy next to you didn’t get the memo, freaking out over already messing things up on the first day.
You didn’t know him at all, but you felt bad that he was so stressed. In turn, you decided to rip up your own papers. He looked at you like you were crazy, maybe because you were. What idiot does something like that?
You give him a warm smile. “There. Now we’re both missing it.”
All he can do is laugh, shaking his head in disbelief. “I’m Changmin.”
“Y/N.”
After that, Ji Changmin came to be another one of your closest friends. It was kind of silly that something your mother instilled in you at a young age had become such a big part of your life. It brought you people who you’d cherish forever. But it also brought people you wish you’d never met.
“Get the fuck out.”
“Y/N, babe, we can work through this—”
“Are you deaf?” Your tone raises and your feet carry you to the front door, swinging it open. “I said to get out of my apartment.”
“We’ve been together for three years. You’re not gonna fight for us?” He pleads, clasping his hands as he stands in front of you.
“Why would I? Why should I stay with someone who doesn’t value me enough to stay loyal?” You seethe, your anger growing in size the longer you glare at his pathetic face. The face of a man you thought would love you until death did you part.
“She meant nothing to me!” He tries to rationalize with you, but you won’t have any of it. You weren’t stupid and you sure as hell weren’t blind.
“Do you take me as a fucking fool, Daehyun? I’ve known for months that you weren’t ‘working late at the office’. She even DMed me and showed me screenshots of your messages. Now get out before I call the cops.” You’re so pissed off that you don’t even realize you’re crying, fat tears trickling down your hot cheeks.
“After all I’ve done for you and all I’ve given you? You’re gonna act like a bitch?” He drops the innocent boyfriend act, backing you into the doorframe.
“Leave, Daehyun.” You say flatly. You’re not gonna give him the satisfaction of crumbling beneath the weight of his words. You knew the truth, you knew what kind of person he truly was after all this time.
He scoffs, grabbing his jacket off the hook beside him and finally storming out of your apartment. You cover your mouth with your hand to muffle the sobs that so badly want to escape. You watch as he bumps shoulders with a stranger holding a box, thankfully not looking back at you.
You make eye contact with said stranger, eyes wide like a child who’d just gotten caught with their hands in a cookie jar. His eyes resemble those of your friends’ when you told them you’d found out about your boyfriend’s infidelity. You both stand there for a moment, an impromptu staring contest ensuing.
Quickly, you snap out of your trance, cowering into your apartment. You vaguely remember the elderly woman across the hall mentioning that someone was moving into the unit beside yours. She had never told you a specific date, though. Had you known it was today, you might’ve expedited the dramatic break-up with Daehyun.
How could you possibly introduce yourself to him after he witnessed that? And in your current state; snot-nosed and teary-eyed? There was no way. You’d just have to postpone that for another day. Hopefully he didn’t mind too much.
Tumblr media
“Was he cute?”
“Kevin, why is that what you’re worried about?” Changmin’s mouth pulls into a thin line, smacking the slightly older male over the back of the head. He winces, caressing the spot to ease the pain.
“I wasn’t really paying attention to that when I had just shoved my cheating ex boyfriend out of my apartment,” you push around the ramyeon on your plate with your chopsticks. “I do feel terrible that he had to see that though. But how can I face him after that?”
Kevin taps his chin with his index finger, lips pursed in thought. “Why don’t you bake for him? Welcome him to the complex like the hospitable neighbor you are.”
“That’s not a half bad idea, actually.” Changmin nods, shoveling some rice onto his spoon. The Pisces deadpans and reclines in his chair.
“What the hell is that supposed to mean?”
“Okay, enough bickering you two. I need you to finish eating so I can start planning what to bake.”
Tumblr media
The third time you practice your mother’s life lesson, is the next evening when you’re face-to-face with your neighbor’s door.
Your hands have begun to clam up beneath the warm tupperware of cookies you were holding. Were you supposed to just knock on his door like everything was fine and dandy? What if he wasn’t even home? Maybe you should just leave the baked goods with a note and—
The door swings open to reveal the stranger from a few days ago. However, this time he also wears that expression of shock, cat-like eyes widened. Your mouth moves like fish out of water, not sure what you should say or how you should say it. So you don’t think and you just act, extending the tupperware towards him.
“H-Hi, I’m Y/N, I’m your neighbor,” your speech is a little shaky, but you’re too nervous to focus on that. “I— um— I baked these for you as a housewarming gift to welcome you to the complex. As well as an apology for making you a bystander in my messy breakup.”
His features relax as a smile inches its way onto his face, graciously accepting the treats you made for him. “Thank you, you didn’t have to do that. And don’t even worry about it, I just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.”
“N-No, you’re fine, I swear! We shouldn’t have aired our dirty laundry so publicly like that. You did nothing wrong.” You wave your hands as if physically dismissing his words. He lets out a little chuckle that warms your chest.
“If it’s any consolation, I’m glad that you left the dude. He sounded like a total asshole,” your neighbor tucks the tupperware under his arm, leaning against the threshold of his apartment. “You seem too nice to settle for somebody like that. From what I’ve seen, of course.”
You don’t know why that has your heart skipping a beat like a high school girl. Perhaps it had to do with the fact that he really was cute. He had a boyish charm to him, but not so much so that it overpowered how handsome he was. Kevin was going to have a field day with this information.
“Uh, thank you. I should be getting back to my place now. I have an early day at work tomorrow. Have a good night!” You clear your throat to kick yourself out of whatever stupor you were about to fall into, bowing. As you’re turning on your heel to make the ten foot trip to your own apartment, he calls out your name.
“I’m Juyeon, by the way.” He grins, waving as you push open your door.
Tumblr media
“Now that is quite the interesting development.” Kevin snorts, helping himself to one of the raspberry filled donuts you’d just finished baking.
“If you keep eating my product, I’m gonna have to kick you out of the kitchen and out of my bakery,” you chide, swatting his hands away from the baker’s rack. “And how is that interesting in the slightest? I literally gave him the cookies, apologized, and that was that.”
“He was literally flirting with you, Y/N. Changmin, tell her I’m right. Apparently I’m no longer a voice of reason here.” He says through a full mouth.
“I mean, yeah? Kinda? Calling a girl nice is usually guy code for ‘I think you’re attractive and I could see myself sleeping with you’,” Changmin shrugs, tearing off a piece of Kevin’s donut. “But I also see where you’re coming from. You did just meet each other. He could’ve just been trying to console you in a way.”
“Why am I even friends with men when they’re useless?” You throw your head back, speaking to no one in particular.
Perhaps Kevin truly was overthinking the situation. Juyeon seemed to be a kind person who probably didn’t want any problems with his neighbors. It made sense why he’d side with you after witnessing your break up. Besides, the wounds were still too fresh to even consider thinking of anyone else in such a way. No matter how hot they may be…
You’d just have to wait and see for yourself. Only time could tell what would become of the nature of your relationship with your cute new neighbor.
Tumblr media
You look insane with everything in your cart, filled to the brim with baking ingredients. It was around 10 PM and here you were, at the grocery store buying the things needed to make cinnamon rolls. Being a baker with a bit of a sweet tooth meant your cravings got a little out of hand at times, forcing you to make drastic decisions. (I.E. grocery shopping so late at night.)
Even your clothing choice was silly: flimsy pajama shorts with Care Bears patterned on them, a baggy t-shirt, and matching slippers. It’s not like anyone cared anyway. And it wasn’t like you were trying to impress anybody either.
But as you’re walking towards the registers, you start to regret your outfit. You very quickly spot your neighbor with a basket on his arm, waiting in line for self-checkout. You feel all the color drain from your face as you stand there, staring like an absolute idiot.
He’s dressed in a pair of grey sweatpants, a hoodie swallowing his figure. He looks so effortlessly good, it kind of makes you upset. Because how are you just now meeting a guy who’s both kind and attractive? As far as you were concerned, they didn’t exist in real life— they only existed in fairytales.
Juyeon looks up from his phone and catches your eye, his hand coming up to give you a little wave and one of those crinkly eye smiles that he does when you pass each other in the hall.
As the weeks have passed, you’ve seen him more and more than you deemed normal. You’d bump into each other on the way to or from picking up your mail, you’d hold the elevator for the other in record time, and you’d even leave your apartments at the same time. Now it appears you’re running into the guy at the supermarket, too. You tried to chalk it all up to coincidence, that you just both happened to be thinking on the same wavelength.
But shyly waving back to him right now reminds you that divine intervention had crazy ways of working its magic. Perhaps those had all just been openings for you to engage in something more with your cute neighbor. And there was only one way to find out.
You psych yourself up as you walk towards him, tucking a loose strand of hair behind your ear. Juyeon’s smile grows wider as he notices you approaching. “Hey, stranger. What are you up to tonight?”
“Some late baking,” you giggle, wanting to punch yourself in the face for sounding like a goddamn school girl. “I was actually wondering if you’d like to come over and keep me company? Totally up to you of course! I just thought it might be nice to get to know each other properly.”
Your suggestion is what leads the two of you to meet back up at your apartment after purchasing your respective groceries. You attempt to tidy up as best you can while you wait for the knock at your door, setting out all the ingredients on the counter and preheating your oven.
The soft knock comes moments later and you find yourself practically running to open the door, grinning at the sheepish expression on Juyeon’s face. You allow him inside of your apartment, trailing after him into the kitchen. Part of you felt like you were moving on too fast after Daehyun. As a baker, your kitchen was your safe space. It was where you went when you needed to be alone and in the comfort of what you knew best. Kevin and Changmin were the only ones you trusted to be within that element. For you to let Juyeon in— to let him permeate the walls you’ve never let down before, not even with your ex— was brand new territory.
“I almost forgot you own a bakery,” Juyeon speaks up, fingers tracing along the stand mixer. “But seeing all this expensive equipment reminded me of that. It only makes sense that someone as sweet as you would constantly be around sweet treats.”
You fail to bite back your smile. Maybe this was for the better. Maybe it was okay to let your guard down every once in a while, so long as it was always for your flirty neighbor. He laughs when you nudge his shoulder, grabbing all the dry ingredients for the dough.
“On a scale of one to ten, how patient are you?” You ask, avoiding his eyes as you open the flour. The question was in regards to several things.
“I’d say about an eight or nine. Patience is a virtue, you know. It comes easily if you practice hard enough.” He answers, leaning against the counter and watching you.
You let out a breath you didn’t even know you were holding in, searching for your measuring cups. Both you and Juyeon begin to measure out the dry ingredients, dumping them into the mixing bowl. You decide to let him take some of the reins, folding in the mixture of milk, egg, butter, and yeast. While he does that, you prepare the cinnamon sugar.
“I think I’m done. What do I do next?” He turns to you, head cocked to the side slightly. You might actually die of cuteness aggression. The duality of man would one day drive you to the brink of insanity.
“Now you just knead it until it’s smooth.” Your back is to him as you say this, putting away any refrigerated items so they don’t go bad. But as you face him again, you wish you hadn’t.
Your eyes zero in on his hands, kneading the dough with careful, nimble fingers. You feel light-headed as you slip into a spell, gawking at how long and slender they are, massaging the dough like an expert. How had you never noticed how big and pretty his hands were?
Maybe baking with Juyeon was a bad idea. You could barely focus on anything but his fingers pressing the under-construction-cinnamon rolls into the counter. Oh how badly you wanted to be that dough— his hands all over you, groping and massaging and kneading and caressing everywhere they could reach.
The veins running up his arms weren’t helping either, instead fueling the fire burning in the pit of your stomach. You feel your lips part, eyes glossed over with that all too familiar lustful intensity. You wouldn’t be surprised if you had to wipe away drool after this.
“Y/N?” Juyeon glances up from the dough, a little taken aback by your reverie. He follows your line of sight, grinning to himself smugly when he realizes what has you so transfixed. He’s finally found your weakness, and he couldn’t wait to dangle it over your head. Patience was a virtue, but perhaps it would be okay for him to dabble with a vice for once.
He pushes out the dough, using his thumbs to spread it into a rectangular shape. He feels his blood pressure rising the darker your eyes get. However, he’s aware that you just recently got out of a relationship. He wants to move at a pace you’re comfortable with. So he won’t take the first step. He has to leave that up to you.
It’s at a certain point that you come to, blinking to force away the dirty thoughts plaguing your mind. You travel your field of vision to his face, where you find him already looking at you. Your cheeks heat up in mortification from being caught red-handed. You were just gawking at the poor guy’s like they were a piece of fresh meat. This was terrible.
You swallow thickly, averting eye contact to grab the bowl of cinnamon sugar. “Uh, we can start forming the rolls now so they can rise. And then— um— and then we can make the glaze.”
The burn of his gaze on your profile has you tripping over your words, cinnamon sugar sprinkling onto the counter space surrounding and the knife almost slipping from your grip when you go to cut the dough. Juyeon catches it for you, wrapping his fingers around yours to guide your movements and keep them steady.
You feel his breath behind your ear, his chest pressed to your back. His hand is so much larger than your own, nearly covering it entirely. He doesn’t make an effort to move either, rolling the dough into swirl shapes along with you. The whole time this is happening, neither of you are saying a word, letting the silence consume you and the air around you.
As the rolls are rising/baking, you set up everything necessary for making the icing. Juyeon watches with hearts in his eyes as you whisk the sugar, cream cheese, vanilla, and butter in a separate bowl. He wonders how many other people you let see you in this setting. How many people get to see you do the thing you love so dearly?
“I’d like to visit your bakery sometime, if you wouldn’t mind,” Juyeon suddenly says, resting his elbows on the counter as you taste test the icing. “I wanna try all of the desserts you bake.”
“I’m opening later tomorrow morning actually,” you smile, humming in appreciation when the sweetness of the glaze hits your taste buds. “You can come with me to try the fresh batches before I put them out? I’ll warn you though, I get there at like six.”
“AM?” His eyes practically pop out of their sockets.
“Yes, AM.” You laugh, lightly shoving him backwards.
“I’ll put like ten alarms so I can make sure I’m up in time, then.” He pokes his cheek with his tongue, tipping his head to the side. The goofy smile on your face remains even after minutes have passed and the two of you are just waiting for the cinnamon rolls to finish baking.
It feels like hours have gone by with the two of you standing there when they’re finally ready. The ding of the oven has you springing into action, putting on some oven mitts and taking out the baking sheet. Juyeon's eyes light up and even though you’d just been losing your mind over how insane he was making you, you find yourself cooing at him.
He laughs as you grab a couple spare icing bags for the cinnamon roll glaze, filling them generously. You hand one over to him and decide to split the rolls evenly, icing one half yourself while he does the other. And for once, you think that tonight might end normally. You think that nothing eventful will happen and you’ll just ice the cinnamon rolls without problems.
But you were wrong, like always.
“Ah, shit—”
You glance up from the roll you were glazing to see what the fuss was about. Juyeon’s icing bag tore somehow, the sticky topping getting all over his hand. Truly, you were no better than a man, with the filthy thoughts inhabiting your brain almost instantaneously.
He brings his hand up to his mouth, licking the glaze off the back of his hand and wrapping his lips around his thumb. You felt dizzy, drunk on the sight of your extremely attractive neighbor doing something so sensual without even trying to. You bite your lip, accidentally dropping your own icing bag due to lack of attention.
Juyeon smirks slightly, relishing in the way it takes absolutely nothing to hypnotize you with his hands alone. He really tried to keep himself contained. He really wanted you to extend the first olive branch, but he knows you’re apprehensive. So just this once, he tells himself that it’s okay to initiate, to give you a little push in the right direction.
He takes a step closer to you, caging you against the counter. You stare up at him with wide, doe eyes, as if you were completely innocent despite the naughty images flashing behind them. Juyeon brings his thumb up to your lips, the pad of it still covered in icing.
“Think you could clean this up for me?” He asks, voice low and husky. You could actually combust with that all on its own.
Just like your formal introduction, you don’t give yourself the time to think, and act, instead, running your tongue along the length of his thumb. Juyeon doesn’t restrain the groan in the back of his throat, holding your face in his hands and pulling you in for a kiss.
You reciprocate immediately, fisting his hoodie like it was the only thing capable of stabilizing you. Maybe it was, with the way Juyeon’s lips synchronized with yours and his fingers tangled in your hair. You thought the ground would swallow you whole and wake you up from this dream. On what planet did someone like Lee Juyeon like a girl like you?
His hands slide down your body, groping everything in their path desperately before cupping under your thighs and lifting you onto the counter. He knocks the baking sheet of cinnamon rolls out of the way, palms rubbing up and down the sides of your legs. You want more, so much more, but you’re afraid to ask. You’re afraid to start something you’re not even sure you can emotionally handle.
Juyeon senses your hesitation, detaching from you momentarily. “We don’t have to do anything if you don’t want. I understand if you still need time.”
“N-No, I want this— I want you— I'm just… scared.” You breathe, your forehead using his shoulder for support.
“I'm not him, Y/N. I can give you the world if you’d let me. I’d never do what he did to you, that’s a promise.” He holds your chin between his thumb and forefinger, kissing the crown of your head.
“Okay,” you nod, smiling up at him. “I trust you, Juyeon.”
You reconnect your lips as his fingers slip beneath your pajama shorts, toying with the waistband of your panties. His lips curl up when he feels you squirm, legs parting to make more room for him in the middle of them. You sigh, body shuddering when he drags his knuckle down your clothed slit.
Juyeon hooks his fingers into your shorts and underwear, hauling them down your legs. You place your hands behind you to brace yourself, a shiver trailing your spine when the cool air of your apartment hits your warm core. He groans again at the sight of you bare for him, using two fingers to spread your lower lips.
“Fuck, you’re so pretty,” he swears, his thumb slowly circling your clit.
You whine, tossing your head back as he applies more pressure. Bit by bit, you begin to lose yourself to the pleasure of Juyeon’s gorgeous hands. Soon the stimulation on your clit amplifies when he adds another finger, thrusting it in and out of your entrance. He curls deep inside of you, like he was reaching for something he’d left.
One finger turns to two, and before you know it, Juyeon’s openly finger fucking you on the counter. He leans over your body to keep your lips together, kissing you sloppily while all his focus is on drawing you to the edge. You can almost taste it, your saccharine release in your field of vision now.
It’s a little embarrassing how quickly he was able to wind you up and trip you over the edge, but you feel too euphoric to care. You pause in your kiss to look down at his handy work. (No pun intended.) It makes your head feel foggy and your vision blurry to see his deft fingers fucking you open, veins bulging, like he’d done this many times before. Your hooded eyes follow them up his forearms, a whine escaping your lips.
A particular curl of his fingers and circle of his thumb have you clenching around him, creaming like you’d never had an orgasm in your life. He doesn’t slow his assault, bringing you down just to put you back up on that summit once again. The overstimulation has you cumming a second time in a matter of what felt like seconds, whimpers becoming voluminous moans.
Juyeon kisses you softly, gently pulling out his fingers to lick them clean like he did with the cinnamon roll glaze. A choked groan bubbles past your mouth, tossing an arm over your eyes. He laughs, towing you to the edge of the counter.
He brushes some stray hairs out of your face, moving your arm to smile dopily at you. “I hope you know I was being serious about the whole treating you better thing. If you’ll give me the chance.”
“I know. I told you I trust you, remember?” You nip at the inside of your cheek. His eyes crinkle up like they tend to do when he’s smiling so genuinely. It forces the wind out of you, because how could you ever get used to a sight so stunning?
“You’re so cute.” He laughs, kissing all around your face and smushing your cheeks together.
“Juyeon,” you mumble. “I’m half naked…”
“Even better,” he grins, pecking the tip of your nose. “Makes it that much easier to do all of the other things I wanna do to you.”

QUERENCIA, Chapter 1.
📌 kim mingyu’s au
🚸 the story and characters portrayed in this au are purely fictional and created for entertainment purposes. any resemblance to real persons, living or deceased, or any actual events or institutions is purely coincidental.
𓋭  ۫   ☔️ ﹒ ❊  ͚
today is a really special day for seungcheol and his closest friends as they gather to celebrate his upcoming wedding. in just ten days, he'll be marrying maeve, the love of his life. both their families and friends, including mingyu whom seungcheol chose as his best man, are working together to organize the wedding.
"damn, you could have picked any spot in manila or even gone for a beach wedding. why baguio? you're really hard to read sometimes.” jeonghan needled, shaking his head.
seungcheol responded, not missing a beat, "just go home if you don't want to be here. there's a reason why i didn't pick you as the best man." it was a joke with a teasing edge, meant to ruffle his friend's feathers—jeonghan just rolled his eyes. "mingyu isn't anything special either. i just wanted him as my best man, but honestly, i wouldn't have picked any of you.” seungcheol added with a chuckle.
jeonghan, minghao, hoshi, and woozi exchanged glances, momentarily lost for words. mingyu, in particular, wasn't in the best mood—a recent encounter having put a damper on his best man excitement.
flashback
a hushed buzz of words circulated through the air as seungcheol revealed his choice for best man at the wedding. the glances directed at him seemed to silently question, "of all people?” meanwhile, mingyu, wearing a playful grin, took the news as an opportunity to banter with those around him, reveling in his important role.
"i had a feeling you’d pick me." he grinned, giving seungcheol a playful wink before getting up to give him a hug. seungcheol went along with the fun, but secretly wished maeve's parents weren't around, or he would've kicked his butt already.
"seungcheol must be out of his mind.” woozi quipped, his words a mere whisper meant for the ears of their group of friends.
mingyu felt like he had just won the jackpot of happiness, having been selected for the role of best man—as he made his way back to his seat, a sudden collision jolted him, creating a small commotion that drew the attention of onlookers. just as he was about to assist the person who winced in pain, a loud shout rang out, filling the room. "are you dumb? pay attention, you idiot!" a woman's voice carried with it a sharp edge, prompting seungcheol to hasten towards the scene.
he looked at mingyu, silently urging him to let it go. "i'm sorry, mafel. please forgive my friend; he didn't mean any harm," he apologized, scratching the back of his neck. mafel glanced around at her surroundings and then at the two men before her, mustering a glare before turning on her heel and walked away. mingyu returned to his seat, casting an angry glance at his friend. the cheerful mood he had earlier was completely shattered.
"how dare her?”
"let it go, gyu. honestly, it was your fault.” minghao consoled him, receiving nods of agreement from the others.
"my fault? well, if it is, i can apologize. she didn't have to shout. such an attention seeker." his voice carried to the neighboring table, prompting hoshi and woozi to gesture for him to lower his voice. he responded with an eye roll.
"watch your words, she's a woman.” jeonghan admonished sternly.
"whatever.”
end of flashback
seungcheol noticed mingyu's grim expression and asked, "are you still upset about what happened?"
"of course i am. who wouldn't be? she humiliated me."
"please let it go? i'll buy you anything you want, just don't spoil my wedding.” seungcheol pleaded, offering a cute smile to coax mingyu. he couldn't afford to back down now that he was about to marry mafel, his first and greatest love.
"i wouldn't go that far, jerk.” mingyu rolled his eyes again, opening his phone to distract himself from the sour mood.
"by the way, the stylist is already looking for the attendants, especially the bridesmaids and groomsmen. choose an outfit you like for the wedding.” seungcheol announced, prompting their friends to head over to where the stylist was.
mafel’s point of view
i find myself in the stylist's room, reluctantly participating in organizing my sister's wedding theme. i never wanted to be here in the first place. they made me the best woman, a role i initially declined. it didn't make sense for me to have that position, considering my distant relationship with maeve.
as the bridesmaids and groomsmen start to arrive, one person catches my eye—the man i collided with earlier. he must be furious with me for my earlier behavior. truth be told, i'm frustrated with myself too. i shouldn't have acted that way. but my parents' behavior has left me so agitated and i ended up yelling in irritation.
when the stylist calls for the best man and woman, i stand up. what a twist of fate. he looks at me in confusion, then his eyes widen in fury. "you're the best woman?!"

do you believe in aliens?: no in the sense that there are beings that look like the aliens in pop culture, but yes in the sense that there are possibly other life forms out there. (like the odds are so large yet also so small? maybe the future humans can figure out something before the universe has heat death and before the sun eats us all)
do you like the smell of gasoline?: no but it’s bearable
what’s the last movie you saw?: solo: a star wars story (I think? my memory is bad due to stress)
what’s the worst injury you’ve ever had?: I've never had any injuries where I needed to be stitched or admitted to a hospital yes I was a careful child and I still am but I guess the times I accidentally hit my head on stuff (emphasis on accidentally because I sometimes bang my head since im stupid I think it’s something lasting when I was young and my mom would hit my head for some sense to be knocked in) and maybe that one time I was playing soccer wow panda being active? unheard of and I fell on my arm wrong? it was weird to move for that day and the next, I was fine after
do you have any obsessions right now?: not really? im fond of pixel wallpapers and changbin’s stupid smile and dried cranberries (but I like those all the time??)
do you tend to hold grudges?: im more afraid of people holding grudges on me but yes, if you really frick up and continuously frick up OR I don't like you (I generally am pretty neutral on people but if you have bullied me or caused me some misfortune that could’ve been avoided, I dislike you)
in a relationship?: no but I think you could consider that im in one with my phone but no actually no one likes me or knows me (I've been labeled as my friend’s “Asian friend” by her classmate) so yeah im basically a nobody

Tumblr media
His name is Jeon Jeongguk.
Junghwa’s first meeting with him was when they were both in third grade, when Jeongguk had just moved into the neighborhood. Junghwa was on her way home from an extra math class in school when she got called over by her mom who was talking with Jeongguk’s mom in front of their house. Not long after, Jeongguk was called as well to come out of the house so he can share his name with Junghwa. Eight-year-old Jeongguk had only taken one look at eight-year-old Junghwa before mumbling out his name in muffled syllables, quick in his introduction before going straight back into his house. Junghwa had just assumed he was a shy one.
It’s safe to say that Jeongguk had always been a constant in Junghwa’s life since then, going through the awkward phase of adolescence together. They didn’t go to the same elementary school, but they spent every hour after school playing together. Sometimes they rode their little bicycles around the neighborhood, which often ended up in Jeongguk crashing the front tire of his bicycle into Junghwa’s, making the little girl yelp and the little boy laugh. Jeongguk’s laugh was contagious though, so he was able to pull out a laugh too from Junghwa.
When they weren’t in the mood for some good bicycle-crashing, they hung out in Jeongguk’s house with his many game consoles. Jeongguk had one older brother, so it was a given that they both would fight over games (and everything) all the time, which explains the number of game consoles they have. Even with Junghwa added to their little circle, each of them still had one game console in hand. Junghwa’s favorite console to play was the gameboy (because it was the only console that had the Kirby game) but it didn’t hurt to beat Jeongguk in Playstation’s Tekken once in a while.
Jeongguk and Junghwa grew apart when they were starting middle school. Jeongguk’s school was a lot farther from their houses than Junghwa’s, so he had to go to school earlier than her. He was a lot busier too, always getting home hours after Junghwa did. Because of that, they rarely saw each other and in turn, their gaming and bicycle-crashing days were over just like that. Junghwa could only watch from afar as the kid with bowl-cut hair, chubby cheeks, and two big front teeth slowly grew up into a teenager with side-swept bangs and defined jawline. He still had the two big front teeth, though, which made him upset every time people pointed them out.
It was also in middle school that Jeongguk found interest in basketball. He made it into the school team on his sophomore year, and was declared captain on his junior year. Sometimes he took his team home to practice on the small basketball court right next to Junghwa’s house, shouting out game strategies and encouragements to his team. Afterwards they always headed to Jeongguk’s house to cool down, and Junghwa never missed the opportunity to follow Jeongguk’s steps with her eyes, wondering what happened to their childhood friendship.
In one of her many visits to Junghwa’s residence, Jeongguk’s mom excitedly told Junghwa that Jeongguk was going to attend the same high school as her. They went together on the first day of school—as per Jeongguk’s mom’s insistence—but quickly separated ways as soon as they reached the building. It felt weird, having Jeongguk by her side again, both because it had been such a long time since they spoke and because sixteen-year-old Jeongguk was definitely not eleven-year-old Jeongguk.
He got into the school basketball team again and became one of their best players in a short amount of time. With it, came the popularity, the girls, and the secret admirers. Not only once or twice had Junghwa heard people talking about her childhood friend’s greatness in playing basketball, along with hushed whispers about how good-looking he was. Every time that happened, Junghwa only rolled her eyes and slammed her locker door shut to block off those whispers.
There was a period of time when Junghwa wasn’t being herself and ended up always waking up late so she missed the bus to school. The first morning that happened, Junghwa was speed-walking in front of the Jeons’ house when Jeongguk stepped out of the house with a helmet in his hand. His mom followed a second later, and her eyes caught Junghwa’s. Before Junghwa could have a chance to bolt her way out of there, Jeongguk’s mom had called out to her in a cheery voice and told her to go to school with Jeongguk—on his motorcycle. Junghwa remembers how a slight frown had etched itself onto Jeongguk’s face before it disappeared as he moved his backpack to his front so Junghwa could sit behind him.
When they arrived at school, it was chaotic, to say the least. No one had remembered that Jeongguk and Junghwa had gone to school together on the first day, so everyone was left wondering who the hell this girl was. Junghwa remembered how Jeongguk told her to go to class first so they wouldn’t be seen walking in together, but they both knew it was useless as everyone had already seen them when they entered the school gates. That day, Junghwa got more glares in the hall than she could count on both hands.
So Jeongguk announced to everyone that they were neighbors.
(He said it was better if he was the one who did it because people would believe him more than they believe Junghwa, which made her frown but she had to admit he got a point.)
Then-Jeongguk was so adamant in saying “We are not dating!” whenever someone mistook them as a couple, so his words lately saying the opposite thing only confuses Junghwa. He never treated her as ‘one of his girls’ either, so Junghwa wonders what prompted him to say those things he did after she went out and yelled at him for playing basketball at three in the morning.
Junghwa also wonders what present-day-Jeongguk has in his eyes that convinced her to go with him to the small basketball court next to her house. They sit against the wall, shoulder to shoulder, and say nothing for minutes that feel like hours. Junghwa refuses to be the first one to talk and Jeongguk is trying to avert his eyes away from Junghwa’s red and swollen eyes. It’s obvious she has been crying. Because of what, he doesn’t know.
“If you’re not going to say anything I’ll just go back home,” Junghwa says in a low voice while moving to get up from the ground. Jeongguk’s hand shoots up to grip her wrist in a gentle hold, not letting go until Junghwa looks at him with a confused expression.
“Let’s play some ball,” he says, getting up himself to fetch his basketball that sits a few steps away from where they are sitting. Junghwa’s confused face morphs into one with a frown. “I can’t play basketball.”
Jeongguk has started running around the court, dribbling the orange ball with quick steps towards the hoop. He does a lay-up, gets the ball in, before dribbling the ball back to where Junghwa is standing. “Your turn.” He places the ball in Junghwa’s hands.
She shoves the ball back to his chest. “I’m not here to be your laughing stock, Jeon.”
Jeongguk traces Junghwa’s face with his eyes—the taut of her eyebrows, the puffiness of her eyes, the frown on her lips. He chuckles before shaking his head, giving the ball back to Junghwa. “You’re cute when you’re angry.” He gives the girl in front of him a smile. “First to ten point wins.”
Then he smacks the ball away from Junghwa’s hands with a loud laugh. She blinks her confusion away, and by the time she comes to her senses, Jeongguk has already scored a point.
“I told you I can’t play basketball!”
“Liar,” Jeongguk smirks. “With the way you always watched me whenever I have practice here, I’m sure you know a trick or two.”
Junghwa splutters in disbelief. “Watching is not the same as doing it!”
“So you admit to always watching me play?”
Junghwa’s mouth drops open.
Jeongguk only laughs again. “Come on, I’ll teach you how to play.”
Tumblr media
“I told you I can’t do lay-ups!”
They’re both currently drenched in sweat, Jeongguk has even taken off his blue jacket and thrown it somewhere on the bench. His hair is sticking to his forehead, making him comb it away from his face with his hands over and over again. It now sits on his head like a bird’s nest.
“Alright, alright, no lay-ups for you,” Jeongguk heaves out, taking the ball Junghwa throws his way with ease. It pisses her off how easy all of this seems to Jeongguk, from dribbling the ball to shooting it into the hoop. He does it with so much grace, feet stepping into the correct spot at the perfect moment, hands letting go of the ball just right so it goes smoothly into the hoop. It’s like the heaven ordered its best angels to do nothing but help the boy named Jeon Jeongguk.
“I’m done, I’m tired.” Junghwa breathes out, sliding down the wall like her legs just gave out. She spots a water bottle in Jeongguk’s backpack and takes it without thinking twice, immediately gulping down the water like she hasn’t drunk for days.
Jeongguk comes up to her with his eyes on the bottle, which just lost half of its content courtesy of Junghwa. She smiles up at him innocently before gulping down some more water just because she can.
“Because you stole my water, you have to practice shooting the ball into the hoop with me.” Jeongguk takes the water bottle from Junghwa’s hand and drinks the rest of the content in one go. It makes Junghwa’s head spin thinking about how moments prior her lips were the ones touching the bottle—and now it’s Jeongguk’s. He puts the bottle back in his bag before grabbing Junghwa’s hands to pull her up. “Come on.”
“Noo—” Despite her protests and lack of movement, Jeongguk still manages to pull her back to her feet. Him and his strong-ass body. “Jeongguk, I don’t want to shoot. I’m tired.”
The boy drags her to the middle of the court in silence. Then he places himself behind Junghwa, giving the orange ball a few dribbles before placing it in her hands. “Shoot.”
Junghwa rolls her eyes. “I bet this is the part where you do that cliche thing—where you put your arms around me in a poor excuse of teaching me how to shoot, and then you pull me close to you, cover my hand in your bigger ones—”
Jeongguk takes one step forward so his chest is now in contact with Junghwa’s back. He lowers his mouth so it’s level with Junghwa’s ear, and whispers out: “Exactly.”
Junghwa refuses to admit that the shivers that ran down her spine was because of him.
Jeongguk proceeds to do the things Junghwa listed as cliche in their respective orders, not backing off even when the basketball goes into the hoop just right. He waits with bated breath for Junghwa’s reaction, and when she turns around, it gives him a bit of satisfaction seeing the surprise in her eyes upon realizing just how close they are standing.
“If any of your girls sees this, I’ll be dead in a second.” The moment breaks with Junghwa’s sentence, and Jeongguk watches as she walks away with her head down. He catches up with her before she can go back into her house.
“Hey,” he calls, putting his hand on her shoulder to stop her from walking away. “What do you mean with ‘any of my girls’?”
“Seriously?” Junghwa scoffs. “You’re the star basketball player of our school, known for his three-pointers and good looks, and you still ask me what did I mean with ‘any of your girls’?”
Jeongguk blinks and opens his mouth to tease Junghwa (“You think I’m good-looking?”) but the girl doesn’t even let him let out a single word from his mouth. Junghwa turns to face him fully and shoves a finger to his chest, angrily stomping until Jeongguk steps backward with every step she takes forward.
“You asked why I went home early today, right?” She bites out. “Well, you can ask Jiwoo, or your beloved girls what happened at school today. They happened, Jeongguk. After that hugging incident they confronted me saying I took you away from them. That I convinced you to date me and not tell anyone of them, because I want you all to myself.”
Junghwa’s eyes start becoming watery again but she fights the urge to cry. “They said some really mean shit, Jeongguk, I wouldn’t even dare repeat them to you. When I said we weren’t dating they just called me a liar and started pulling at my hair, clawing at my arms with their long-ass nails. One of them even almost slapped me had Jiwoo not stepped in. She called the principal on them and took me home. There, that’s what happened. You happy now?”
Jeongguk is quiet, trying to process all the new information Junghwa has just given him. After some seconds of just staring at each other, he lets out a question that has Junghwa closing her eyes in frustration: “How come I didn’t know about this?”
“Because!” Junghwa throws her hands up in anger. “You were in basketball practice, like you always are! Besides, I think no one would have told you anyway, they’re all scared of your so-called fanclub that they choose to keep what they know to themselves rather than risk facing their rage. And I’m only your neighbor anyway, not that significant that you have to know what happened to me.”
Junghwa takes a deep breath before looking back at Jeongguk. “I told you to stop approaching me at school, didn’t I, Jeon? Look what—”
Jeongguk pulls her into his arms, buries his face in her hair. He doesn’t care that both of them reek of sweat, shirts wet with perspiration and skins covered in dirt. He just didn’t realize that he has a following who could do terrible things to other people, much less to his own neighbor—and friend. He feels really bad that Junghwa is in this situation because of him.
“I’m sorry, Junghwa, I didn’t know,” he whispers into her hair. His tightens his hold on her, and it surprises them both how Junghwa hasn’t even attempted to pull away from the hug. “I’m really sorry you had to go through that.”
Jeongguk suddenly pulls away and holds Junghwa by the shoulders, gripping them so hard that she’s cringing. “But are you okay now? Are you hurt anywhere? Should we go to the hospital? Oh, God, your nose just healed a few days ago, I can’t believe you had to put up with so much of my shit in a span of mere days..”
Junghwa waves her hand dismissively. “Yeah, I’m fine now. Spent the whole afternoon crying on my bed like some pathetic loser.”
Jeongguk is about to hug her again when she puts a hand on his chest, stopping his movement. “You smell awful, stop hugging me.”
He puts his hands up in surrender, backing off a little bit so Junghwa has enough space to breathe. Looking to the side, Jeongguk seems to be in deep thought as his eyebrows crease and his lips purse ever so slightly. He was so deep in thought that maybe he doesn’t realize he’s still standing in front of Junghwa when he lifts the bottom part of his shirt to wipe the sweat on his forehead, exposing his taut abs. Junghwa makes a surprised sound before turning around with her cheeks ablaze.
“Don’t do that! You’re outside for fuck’s sake!”
Jeongguk chuckles from behind Junghwa. “Sorry, bad habit.” He puts his hands on Junghwa’s shoulders to turn her back around. “It’s safe now. You can see my abs another day.”
Junghwa’s grumble of I don’t wanna see them gets lost in Jeongguk’s next words: “What do you think about making their words come true?”
“What words.”
“The ones that said we’re dating.”
“No. They will do worse things to me than what they did today.”
“They won’t, okay, listen to me.” Jeongguk actually looks like he has a plan inside his head. “I’ll protect you. I’ll tell them not to mess with you again or they’ll be banned from my future basketball matches—or something, I’ll think about that later. Or I can yell at them, threaten to hate them if they dare mess with you again. Anything, so they can’t hurt you again.”
It’s not convincing even the slightest bit, but Junghwa keeps her mouth shut because Jeongguk looks like he still has something to say.
“Or instead of doing this for them, do it for me?” He voices it like a question, eyes hopeful. “I was telling the truth about me falling off my bike because I was distracted by you, all those years ago. I was always so happy whenever we played games together, you know, I even let you beat me on Tekken just so I could see you smile. Junghyun used to tease me a lot about you, I don’t know if you realized but I feel like you should have because he wasn’t subtle about it at all. He was also the one who suggested I bring my team home to practice when we were in middle school, saying that you always watched me whenever I shot hoops in this small basketball court. I always looked at you every time I scored a point, do you remember? And every time, without fail, you would avert your eyes away like you didn’t want to be caught staring at me while I was playing.
Oh and that day when my mom forced us to go to school together because you were uncharacteristically late? I told you to go to class first because I was nervous to walk in together with you. I didn’t want the whole school to know how much I like you because for sure it was going to be plastered all over my face. And that day I was really upset because I had to tell everyone that we were neighbors. I wanted people to know that we’re together as a couple, not just mere neighbors who have known each other since childhood. God, it was really hard for me, Junghwa. So hard.”
Junghwa is spiraling because who would have thought that the kid with bowl-cut hair, chubby cheeks, and two big front teeth has secretly been crushing on her for the past six years?
“But why did you always tell people that we are not dating whenever we get mistaken as a couple?”
“I didn’t want to make you uncomfortable. I made sure people know that we weren’t a couple, because we were not. It honestly also served as a reminder to myself, because sometimes I get lost in my feelings and look at us as a couple too. Like a reality check, or something. But hey, wouldn’t it be cute if we became a couple since a long time ago? Childhood friends and neighbors, turned lovers. That’s some movie material right there.”
“You’re rambling.”
“I know,” Jeongguk grins. “So? Be my girlfriend?”
Junghwa fakes gagging when Jeongguk shoots her a quick wink after his question.
“Come on, that way I don’t have to tell your mom that I’m not actually your boyfriend. I also promise to stop playing basketball at three in the morning—”
“Right! That! Why did you start playing at an ungodly hour? It’s really annoying.”
“To get your attention, what else?” Jeongguk answers like it’s an obvious and known fact. “I know you’re always awake at that hour, and I love your reaction whenever I dribble my basketball too loud. That time when you came out and yelled at me? You looked so cute I wanted to come up and squish you in my arms. Could be considered the best day of my life, even. I’m sorry about the window incident, though. I really didn’t mean to hurt you like that.”
“I’m sorry too, for being too hostile to you afterwards. I just can’t help but feel … like I was ‘one of your girls’, you know? I didn’t know how you treated them but that was certainly not how you treated me in the years we know each other. You’ve always treated me like a friend, or a neighbor, not a lover, that when you showed just a little bit of change I freaked out.”
“Don’t worry, Junghwa. For me, you’re the only one.”
“That’s gross.”
“Hey!”
Tumblr media
“You know I still feel weird about this, right?”
Jeongguk and Junghwa are currently seated in Junghwa’s living room, the TV playing in the background serving as white noise. There’s some space between them, one that Junghwa created because she still finds it weird that now the boy with the black hair in front of her is her boyfriend.
“That’s fine. You don’t know how it feels to be pining for your neighbor for six years straight, so I can imagine this is all so sudden to you.”
“Thanks, Jeongguk.”
“Yeah, Junghwa.”
Junghwa chuckles upon hearing their names being said one after another like that.
“You know, one of the girls today said to me that my name is a sham because the first syllable is Jung, just like yours. She said I was so desperate to get your attention that I had to have the name ‘Junghwa’, a name so similar to yours. She sounded really stupid that I couldn’t come up with a response. I just tried my best not to laugh in her face.”
Jeongguk scrunches up his face. “Really? I’m offended that I have a ‘fanclub’ that stupid.”
“Better educate them better, then.”
“I’d rather educate my girlfriend on how to do lay-ups properly. She’s short so she will have a hard time but I’m willing to teach her my ways so we can play together in the future. Who knows, maybe she’ll become a star basketball player just like her boyfriend.”
“Nope. No more basketballs. I’ll just watch you from the sidelines and clap whenever you score a point.”
“Can I kiss you every time I score?”
“No.”
Jeongguk pouts. Maybe he’d have to steal kisses at three in the morning, while Junghwa yells at him for dribbling his basketball too loud. Maybe he’d have to steal kisses in the morning that Junghwa is riding to school with him. Or maybe he could steal kisses when they play basketball together, just the two of them. He’d teach her how to shoot again and do the cliche things in their respective orders just like what he did today.
“You can kiss me after you win a game.”
And the black-haired boy laughs, brighter than he ever has in the past six years.

Staring was something you had long since gotten used to. The bunny ears that sat atop your head forever gave away your position in society, leading to the burning stares of those around you. From shameless glares to not-so-subtle glances, you were just...accustomed.
The only place you had found solace was in the cute little isolated cafe near your apartment. It was a hybrids-only place, making it feel homey and safe every time you entered.
Although, you had to admit that one major reason you found yourself going back over and over again, was the handsome security guard hybrid who worked there.
He was big, muscular and always had such a bright demeanor. Not to mention he was pretty easy on the eyes, with bouncy, floppy ears hidden in his mess of hair. His tail always seemed to be wagging, giving away his chipper mood. His golden eyes always had you entranced for a moment when you met them. To put it simply, you had a crush.
Usually, the walk to the cafe was a nice one -- peaceful, albeit with the stares of humans and other hybrids making you uncomfortable. Today, however, it was anything but.
When you locked up your apartment, you had the misfortune of running into your neighbor in the elevator -- he was mean, an ox hybrid that had spent years working, which brought him to the conclusion that he was superior to a domesticated hybrid such as yourself. He always made it his prerogative to spout out some nasty things at you that had you hanging your head.
Then, once you were walking, free of his ugly demeanor, you had to squeeze your way through a crowd of humans who were all waiting excitedly for the grand opening of a game store. It was never fun -- they would always take the opportunity to make derogatory comments or take a chance to grab your ears and tail.
By the time you reached the cafe, your mood was thoroughly in the dumps. The little bell ringing would usually perk you right up but today, all you did was sigh.
You took a seat on one of the soft chairs near the window, holding a pillow in your lap. You heave a little sigh and will your body to relax, letting the soft atmosphere soothe your body.
“Hey there, bun,” a familiar voice has your ears perking up. You cast a glance over your shoulder to see Bokuto bounding his way towards you, tail wagging excitedly behind him, “I missed you yesterday!”
“Sorry,” you give him a sweet smile, already feeling your spirits lift at the sight of the happy pup, “I had errands to run and ended up not having time to swing by.”
“It’s alright,” he beams and then blinks, “you’re not gonna get your usual drink?”
You shrug, casting a glance out the window. He seems to immediately pick up on your mood and takes a seat in the empty chair across from you. It’s almost laughable how small it looks beneath him, the chair meant for smaller hybrid breeds like yourself. Still, he fixes you with a serious look, “Everythin’ alright?”
You sigh, “Bad day so far…”
He falls silent, seemingly thinking something over. His ears twitch atop his head for a moment before standing up. You watch him with wide eyes as he gets up and walks away. You lose sight of him around the corner and sigh, casting your gaze outside once more.
After a few minutes, he suddenly reappears with a grin on his face. Ever so carefully, he places the little white cup on the table and sits back down.
“It’s your favorite!” he beams, relaxing in his seat once again, “...right?”
You can’t fight back your smile as you pick up the drink, “You even got it with extra whipped cream!”
He nods, tail loudly thumping against the back of the chair, “I see you always get it! When you take a sip and you get some on your little nose it's...um…” he clears his throat, cheeks turning pink, “It’s cute...you know?”
You feel your own cheeks burn at the compliment and quickly take a sip of your drink to hide how flustered he makes you. You hum happily and his grin only brightens.
“You look happier now!” he chirps, ears popping up happily on his head, “I’m glad!”
“Thanks, Bokuto,” you whisper, meeting his gaze.
He opens his mouth, ready to say something when you both hear his name being called out obnoxiously from across the cafe floor.
His tail immediately stops wagging and his ears perk up in alert, golden eyes darting around to see if there’s any danger to be seen. Both of your gazes finally fall on a pretty fox hybrid that struts her way over to him, a sharp-toothed grin on her face.
“There are you, Bo,” she coos, “What’re you doin’ all the way over here in this section?”
You shrink into your seat, hugging the pillow closer to you as you register the implication of her words. You know what she means -- why is he loitering in the domesticated hybrid section and not in the working-hybrid section with her and her groupies.
“Just talking with a friend,” Bokuto curtly responds, “Was there something you needed?”
The girl shrugs, a well-manicured hand finding its way onto his shoulder, “Just your attention. You don’t need to be here to entertain little…” her sharp eyes fall on you with a look of disgust, “Bunnies beneath you like this.”
The dog’s eyes immediately land on you once again and he frowns at how uncomfortable you look. It wasn’t very often that hybrids like her would be so close to ones like you. So he sighs and stands up, “Let’s talk back in your section, hm?”
“Sounds great!” she perks up and wraps her arms around his as he escorts her away.
You feel your own ears lower as you watch him go, leaving you all alone. Looking outside, you notice the way the sky begins to darken with an incoming storm.
You can distantly hear the boisterous sound of Bokuto’s laugh and feel yourself deflate.
It wasn’t the first time in your life you’d heard comments like that.
Ever since ‘working-hybrids’ and ‘exotic-hybrids’  were deemed more important by the government than ‘domesticated-hybrids’ such as yourself, you’ve dealt with it. It was only up until recently that hybrids like you were even allowed to exist in peace.
Still, hybrids like her continue to think themselves superior to you and make it known that they think so as well.
Yet, that didn’t stop you from feeling the ache in your heart at the sight of your crush going with her. Bokuto was a ‘working-hybrid’ -- a dog bred to guard and protect. Yet, he was so kind and considerate towards you. You can’t help but wonder if he secretly thinks himself better than you as well. After all, he went with her easily enough.
You immediately shake that thought from your head, gaze falling back down to your cup. The whipped cream was melted by now but you still found yourself smiling. He paid enough attention to know your favorite drink and how you took it.
Finally deciding that you had enough of sitting there sulking by yourself, you finish up your drink and stand, fixing your clothes before making your way to the door. The windowpane is dripping now from the sprinkling that had just started up, distant thunder making you put the hood of your hoodie up.
You open the door, the little bell ringing above you as you do. You step outside and inhale the rainy city scent. You only make it a few steps before the door is tugged open behind you and you hear your name being called.
“Hey, _____!” you turn to see Bokuto running out behind you, tail wagging happily as he approaches you, “Let me uh...walk you home?”
“What about work?” you ask, squinting through the rain.
“Shift just ended,” he beams, “I’m free...um...if you’re okay with that!”
“Of course I am,” you smile, waving at him to follow after you.
You can’t help the way your heart races as he happily bounds after you. You can tell there’s something on his mind, however, with the way he worries his bottom lip between his teeth.
“This is it,” you mutter, gazing up at your apartment complex, “Thanks for walking me, I really appreciate it.”
He seemed surprised for a moment, “O-Oh, you live...really close to the cafe, huh?”
You nod, stepping under the awning so you can remove your hood, freeing your ears. His eyes immediately fall upon them, making you flush shyly, “Well, I’ll see you later, Bokuto.”
“Um!” he stops you as you open the lobby door, making you pause, “Can we...talk...maybe?”
“Oh...sure…” he relaxes slightly, whispering a soft thanks as he follows you inside. You greet the front desk as you walk by, Bokuto tailing close behind you as you make your way to the elevator.
The ride up to your apartment is quiet. Bokuto’s hands clasped in front of him, you can’t help but notice he’s a bit stiff. It has your heart racing with anxiety, wondering what it is he has to tell you.
For the few months that you’ve known him, the only time he’s ever been serious has been when he was doing his job, escorting humans or rude hybrids out of the cafe. Otherwise, he’s always been a very jovial, upbeat man.
Once you reach your apartment, you unlock it and let him in, both of you kicking your shoes off.
“Do you want something to drink?” you ask, “Make yourself comfortable.”
“Uh...water?” he asks, sounding almost nervous.
You give him what you hope is a comforting smile before making your way to the kitchen. As you begin to fill up a glass -- one decorated with cute little cartoon carrots, you hear him clear his throat behind you. You jump and gasp, whirling around to look at him with wide eyes.
His own eyes are wide, hands up in defense, “S-Sorry! Didn’t mean to startle you!”
You relax where you stand and shut the water off, “It’s alright, just didn’t hear you come in.”
He takes the glass when you hand it to him, but doesn’t drink off of it. Instead, he shifts anxiously on his feet. You can almost see the wheels turning in his head as you wait for him to say whatever is plaguing your mind.
“I don’t want you to think I’m like them!” he spits out suddenly, shocking you.
“W-What? Like who?” you ask, watching as he places the glass on the counter.
“L-Like the girl today…” he sighs, “I know I ditched you for her and it’s been bugging me...I don’t...I just knew she was making you uncomfortable and she wouldn’t leave unless I went with her...so I…”
You relax slightly and smile, “That’s what this is about?” he nods as you ask, “It’s okay, Bokuto. I admit...I was a little worried about it but...you’ve always been really nice to me so...I don’t think you’re like that at all.”
He sighs, tail sagging behind him as if you had just lifted a huge weight off of his shoulders, “I’m glad. B-Because, honestly, I really like you! And it would suck if I was dumb enough to ruin any small chance that I had to--”
“You like me?” you ask quietly, stopping him in the middle of his sentence .
“Oh I...yes…” he whispers, rubbing the back of his neck nervously.
“I like you too, Bokuto…” you confess softly.
You both fall silent, the only sound is the rapid thumping of Bokuto’s tail against the counter he stands beside. Your cheeks feel hot and you can’t bring yourself to look at him, even as he slowly makes his way over to you until you can see his feet in front of yours.
“Can I kiss you?” he asks, breath fanning over your hair.
“Y-Yeah…” you whisper, biting your lip when he suddenly grips your chin between his index finger and thumb, making you look up at him.
His gaze is soft as his thumb carefully slides over your bottom lip. You can’t help but press a sweet kiss against the pad of it.
That, however, seems to break him because he descends down and presses his lips against yours. You whimper into the kiss, hands coming up to grip the front of his shirt, an indescribable need to have him closer. He smells so good, cologne mixed with the sweet scent of the cafe. It’s familiar, safe.
When he pulls back, there’s a thin string of saliva connecting the two of you. His pupils are blown wide when you look into them again, only a ring of his gold iris can be seen. You swallow thickly at the sight, his shoulders heaving from how hard he’s breathing.
He steps closer once again, kissing you once more. His hand cups the back of your head, forcing the kiss to deepen. You whimper against his lips, falling into the kiss eagerly as you press your body against his larger one.
You can’t help but notice the hardness of his cock pressing against you, making your knees feel weak. Still, you cling to him and kiss him until you’re forced to pull away for air.
“Sorry…” he pants, eyes lidded, “You’re just...so cute...you make such adorable noises when I kiss you.”
You can’t help but whimper at his words, yanking him back down to kiss him once more. You feel intoxicated, as if his lips were addictive. He moves them expertly, his tongue meeting yours as he groans.
Without breaking the kiss, he grips your waist and hoists you onto the counter, wedging himself between your legs. The position causes your skirt to hike up just a bit. The closer he presses, the closer he gets to your clothed cunt.
You feel hot, panting into his mouth as one of his hands begins to caress your body, gripping your thighs and throat mindlessly. It all feels so heavy that your mind feels blank.
Neither of you says a word as he works your hoodie off and over your head, dropping it onto the kitchen floor without a care.
“So pretty,” he whimpers, leaning back to take a look at you.
Your eyes are lidded and your lips are swollen. You’re wearing a tight t-shirt that lets him see the swell of your braless chest perfectly -- your nipples hardened and pressing against the fabric. Your thighs are fully on display with a peek of some pretty, pink panties beneath your skirt.
“Bo…” you whisper, catching his attention, “Bedroom?”
“Fuck,” he curses, licking his lips, “You sure, pretty bunny?”
You eagerly nod, wrapping your arms around his neck so he can lift you. You feel his biceps flex as he hoists your weight, following your directions to the bedroom before kicking the door shut with his foot. When he deposits you onto the bed, he’s on you in seconds, hand pushing the hem of your shirt up above your breasts.
“Pretty fuckin’ tits,” he growls, cupping one as he wraps his lips around your other’s nipple. His fingers pinch and roll the neglected one as you sigh and whimper happily under his attention.
Your knees press into his sides, using the leverage to grind your clothed cunt against his covered cock. The jeans don’t provide either of you with very much pleasure but you both moan contentedly anyway.
When he finally pulls away from your nipple, there’s a string a spit connecting the swollen bud to his lips, “You tryna get that lil cunt off for me, baby? That what you need?”
You nod desperately and can’t help but giggle when he eagerly works to strip you of the rest of your clothes. The second you’re completely naked, however, he freezes where he sits, letting his eyes drift up and down your body.
“You’re so damn pretty,” he sighs, running the flats of his palms down your body until he gets to your thighs, where he roughly shoves them apart, “Keep those open for me, bunny.”
You do as you’re told, watching with wide eyes as he strips himself of his shirt. His abs and biceps flex with every movement. You follow his hands as he pinches and flicks his own nipples, trailing down his toned tummy until he flicks the button of his jeans open, stuffing his hand into his blue boxes until he tugs his cock free.
It nearly knocks your breath from your lungs.
It’s long and thick, with a fat, leaky head. It’s veiny and you can see it throbbing as he slowly strokes himself, eyes glued on your pretty little cunt. You clenched pathetically around nothing, leaking sweet slick that had his mouth watering.
“This what you want, baby?” he asks softly, shuffling forward on his knees until the tops of his thighs meet the backs of yours.
You nod, “Yes, yes, please, I want it so bad.”
He quickly shushes you, “‘S okay, baby.”
You’re practically trembling in excitement, thinking he’s going to stuff you nice and full of his fat cock. But instead, he slaps the head against your clit, making your thighs jump from the feeling. He’s quick to shush you, pinning your thighs open, when you arch your hips and attempt to get him to pop his cock into your tight little cunt.
“Lemme prep you,” his words are slurred when he says them, already beginning to mindless work is hips back and forth.
The slide of his heavy cock through your slick folds has you keening, falling limp on the bed. He grinds over your clit, squeezing the meat of your thighs between his fingers at the feeling of the little bud throbbing beneath his length.
“So good, so wet,” he whimpers, tongue peeking out from between his swollen lips, “‘s it feel good, bunny?”
“Yes!” you cry, hands reaching up to grope your own tits, pinching and rolling your nipples between trembling fingers.
“G-Good bunny,” he praises breathlessly, “Want you to cum for me, please?”
He leans his boy over yours, hands planted on either side of your head. He words his hips quickly, eyes glued to the sight of your pussy making a mess for him -- because of him. He swears he’s never seen anything prettier than a bunny’s responsive little cunt. You were so sensitive that your entire body was vibrating. He could feel your pussy pulse through the pleasure, every time you twitched he could see your little hole clench, gushing our more slick for him to use to fuck himself against you.
“Bo!” you squeal, legs kicking on either side if his large body.
He could tell you were cumming. Your eyes rolled back in your head as you back arched, your hands coming up to press into his chest as if that was going to stop him from making you cream all over him.
“That’s a good bunny!” he growls, teeth clenched together at the feeling of your hot little cunt cumming against the sensitive vein on the underside of his cock.
He sits up suddenly, whimpering through his nose as he grips his own cock, slapping the length against your clit, sending your orgasm even higher.
You babble and wail mindlessly as he makes you cum harder than you ever have before. You feel the hot stripes of his own cum as he barrels into his own orgasm. He paints your messy cunt with his cum, both of you panting and trembling as you come down.
But before you can take in the post-climax euphoria, he’s pressing the fat, sensitive head of his cock into your still-spasming cunt.
“T-Taro!” you wail, legs kicking as he quickly bottoms out, another orgasm washing over you.
He doesn’t hesitate this time. His own cock aches, burns with overstimulation as he fucks you like a feral mutt. He’s addicted, obsessed with the way you cream and gush around him. His jeans are wet, sticking to his thighs from the way he forces your pretty pussy to squirt over and over again. He doesn’t slow down, doesn’t give you a chance to come down from the pleasure.
“Pretty little cunt,” he growls, “Pretty, dumb bunny. You like this cock? I can tell...you’re cummin’ so hard for me. ‘S it that good?”
You couldn’t even answer coherently even if you wanted to. He knows that and it’s a bit mean of him to be asking you questions when he’s so thoroughly fucked you stupid.
“C-Can I cum?” he whimpers, “Where do you want it, bunny?
“Inside!” you squeal, back arching desperately as you wrap your arms around his neck, pulling him down for a kiss.
Your hands tangle in his already messy hair, gripping his ears. The sensation has him sobbing into your mouth, hips stuttering as he cums hot and messy into your cunt. His hips never slow, forcing himself to ride out the almost painful orgasm he fucked out of himself.
His cock is raw, throbbing and drooling cum by the time he slows down. He’s trembling, letting his heavy body fall atop yours, nuzzling your neck to be close to you.
“G-Good bunny,” he whispers, sitting up after a moment to pull his cock free. You whine at the feeling of being empty followed by the lewd gush of his cum once he is gone.
“Took so much…” he beams, sliding out of bed to strip himself of those damned jeans he completely forgot to strip himself of.
Once he is curled up beside you, content and holding you, he sighs contentedly.
“So...I’m off tomorrow…”

OMG PRECIOUSSSS YUUTA ASKING RIKA TO HOLD HIS HANDS WHEN URE TOO BUSY TOUCHING HIM?? AAAAAA THATS SO HOTTTTT
Ugh I wanna court omega Toji who already has a cub so badly and make him my sugar baby☹️😩😩
But most of all…. The pining with Gojo? I love your mind precious that idea is so chefs kiss
YES YOU ALWAYS COMPLETELY UNDERSTAND WHAT I MEAN <33333
he's a baby, he needs support, take his hand somebody he needs it-
but if seriously, so overwhelmed by feelings that he needs to feel grounded <3 just need to squeeze his palm and let him realize that he is in reality, so as not to fall into prostration when he is too absorbed in you; precious baby.
rrrrright <333
I never had any idea that I could have such a thing for single parents, but omega Toji, raising his son and having problems with rapprochement & being afraid of not being a good enough father is such a material.
Single parent reader? A reader who just randomly gets close to a gloomy omega neighbor? Sugar parent is a reader who is not too keen on such relationships as a rule, but this time you allow yourself to miss your habits for the sake of a gold digger.
Maybe some trashy au with "perfectly matched couples" where you unexpectedly meet the pleasantly smelling omega and think that you have met the one — but that 'one' already has a son, a dead wife and a dark streak in life. If there is a condition there under which you cannot leave each other for a long time after the meeting, and you find yourself involved in some kind of messy story, but you still agree, because his cub is even cute (although he behaves like a brat), and you are not that dissatisfied with your "The Perfect Omega™" </3
Or just sugar baby!Toji who bites you and your wallet for a long time until one day he realizes that something is wrong. Quite a bit of angst and longing, but everything ends kind of well <3 you're okay with his puppy and his lousy personality and he suddenly turns out to be okay with the fact that you have the keys to his apartment and access to his nest.
maybe, maybe friends with benefits — but then he "accidentally" becomes your omega & but he doesn't understand why you look so confused </3
again a little pinning, but not for so long, because this is Toji and he is more open when he understands that he likes you, even if the courtship process itself begins when Megumi is a year or two and ends when he starts going to school </33
Satoru, who behaves like a tenacious puppy, constantly takes your clothes to build a nest, playfully coos about your future & even your puppies, wraps around you and clearly smells of you, but at the same time you want to talk seriously about future and he runs away like the plague, because he is afraid that you want to take away from he has something of these his favorite things that are a way for him to keep his mental state in order </3
but you can't help but think that this is his desire to "draw a line" and leave your relationship in such an unbalanced state, and you want to respect his wishes, but would prefer that he became more mature and came face to face.
you just run senselessly after each other and from each other, but for some reason it works </33
Bonus points if you are a beta and Satoru is afraid that you will find him particularly tenacious and needy, but he can't help but be so, because he is too attached to you, so he runs around in the hope that without getting the opportunity to talk, you won't do it in less intimate situations. But you just want to make sure he's okay even if you're not an alpha and don't act like one </333

Going Home
Jet-Black Hero: Tsukuyomi / Tokoyami Fumikage x Fem!Reader - Pro Hero AU (in their 20s)
Tumblr media
Tokoyami had it bad. He had it so bad he had to bribe dark shadow to keep his mouth shut about it when you would call him. Sure he’s older than he was in high school and has more control over his quirk partner- he could force him to keep his mouth shut, but it feels wrong to force him to do anything when he’s a friend
You met Tokoyami in high school, becoming instant friends and bonding over darkness and crime shows. You even went as scully and mulder one Halloween together. But then you moved to a different country before senior year and he hasn’t been able to physically see you since.
You kept in contact religiously. He was your best friend and you told him you’d die if he doesn’t remain that way. You talk every day whenever you have free time and FaceTime every Monday and Wednesday alternating evenings and mornings for each other whenever hero work allows.
You have a separate conversation going on Snapchat, Instagram, and texts that you both stay on top of. Your Snapchat streak said 1174 and you’d be damned if it ever broke before you got to see him again. And yes, somewhere along the lines, you fell for him, but you’d never tell him. You’d never ruin your friendship like that.
“Remember to pick her up at noon” Dark Shadow said into his mind and he rolled his eyes, like he would ever forget the date and time his best friend would be in his life again. The second his agency was confirmed he extended a contract toward you, a popular new hero who was looking for an agency. A six month contract with abilities to extend should it feel like a good fit.
“Seriously? Not just because I’m your friend? You honest to god think our quirks would work well if I’m your side kick? On the bracelet?” He nods into the phone camera and then looks down at the purple adjustable bracelet you had gotten for him on your last arcade adventure before you moved, a matching black one on your wrist.
“I swear on the bracelet” he said, heart skipping. Yes he knew your quirks would work well together that was true. But he also knew that he was dying to see to again and when you said you only needed a good enough opportunity to move back, he saw a perfect opportunity that fate had handed you both.
Your black bracelet was faded to grey over the years of never taking it off but your heart beat raced in your chest. “Okay” you say with a smile and warm cheeks “I’ll have my agent look over the contract and I’ll give it a serious thought career wise.” Your eyes sparkled and he hoped your agent liked the proposal. His heart racing as you smiled at him like that. God he loved your smile.
“I like it. It would be good for your hero image if you had hero work in other countries as well. Young hero going back home. We can make a good story out of it how you were home sick. It’s also good that it’s with your best friend.” You checked out after she said she liked it. You were going home. You were going home.
You called Tokoyami right away and he answered on almost the last ring. “I’m sorry I just needed to talk to you” you said and took a deep breath as he work up “no it’s fine. It’s always fine when it’s you” his voice was tired and thick and you could only imagine how it would be in person.
“I have some news” you said with a smile and he perked up, sitting up in bed and against his headboard as he looked out his window at the night sky “what is it?” He asks, trying not to feel too excited as the phone presses hard against his ear.
“Guess” you said with a teasing tone and he knew immediately
“Really?” He asks, not being able to hide the excitement in his tone as his empty fist shoots up in celebration
“She said she liked it. It’ll be good for my image” you said with a grin, holding the phone in the crook of your neck as you play with the bracelet you’ve never taken off.
“When?” He asks eagerly
“You should know when Fumi, you made the contract” you joke and he chuckles
“no I know when your first day will be but when are you coming here?” He needs to know how much longer. How much more time will be spent away from you
“A week”
he laughs once out of shock and joy “a week?” He asks and you laugh, joy lacing every part of your voice
“my agent got me a flight and an apartment. The building I asked for already had one open and it was easy peasy. It’ll be furnished for me so I’ll be there next Wednesday at noon. Then I’ll have three weeks there before I start work. With you”
He couldn’t believe it. It went so fast he feels like his heart is spasming. Eight years away from you and only one week to go. “I’ll pick you up text me your itinerary”
“Okay” you say with a laugh and then smirk as you say “you’re not gonna ask where I’m gonna be living?”
“Where?”
“#407” you say and it takes him a moment but he gets there
“You mean six doors down?” He asks and you laugh
“Yeah I hope you don’t mind. I just thought it would be fun” you feel nervous like he’s not gonna like it, your palms sweat
“That’s amazing I’m so happy” he says and you grin “really? You don’t mind I’m living in your building?”
“Why would I mind? The best person in my life is going to be my neighbor. I can’t wait”
You hear his alarm go off and gasp “I’m sorry Fumi I didn’t mean to ruin your sleep”
He laughs “you didn’t. Trust me. But I do have to go to work. To get things set for you to be here.”
“Okay. I’ll text you. Be safe today Fumi”
His hands feel sweaty as he stands at the gates. Jesus. Was this even a good idea? Fuck he was so nervous. Your plan had landed he was just waiting for the doors to open. When the fight attendants opened the door he felt dark shadow getting nervous as well.
But then he saw you, a hat on your head and sunglasses on to try and stay inconspicuous in American airports but since you were here now you took them off and ran your hand through your hair before scanning the room.
Fuck you were so beautiful his mouth was dry. You were so cute in pictures and face time but it had nothing on you in person. You were an angel. This was a bad idea he was too in love to do this.
Your eyes meet his and you smile wide, your hat and glasses in one hand and a water bottle in the other as you start making your way to each other. You started off walking and weaving around the slow walkers but once you had space you couldn’t stop increasing your speed before you were running for him, your water bottle clanging to the ground as you dropped everything and threw off your backpack to slam into his strong arms, laughing as tears fall into his neck as you bury your face into him.
“Hey Fumi” you whispered and held you tighter. You smelled amazing. Like fresh air and rosemary. He couldn’t get enough. He held you tight to his chest and realized you felt smaller in his arms but then he realized when you left he was 5’5 and tiny. He’s grown a lot since then and even though you have changed too, he’s still a much larger man than he was before.
He dwarfed you. You never thought it was even possible. He held you completely and you never wanted him to let go. “Fumikage” you say as you pull back, making sure he keeps his arms around your waist. You reach up and run your hand down his long feathers down the back of his head “you’re much larger in person holy crap. and your feathers are so beautiful!!! Fumi!!. I forgot the beautiful shades in the darkness of the black. How are you still single Fumi you must be dripping with fans” You joked but your heart hurt saying it. You wanted to hear him say he wasn’t dating. That he has feelings for you.
He looks down at you and feels pride swell in his heart as you praise him, controlling the urge to fluff out his feathers when you call them beautiful.
“No one wants to date a fan” he says shutting down your investigative prodding at his love life, but then says “You’re one to talk you’ve changed so much but I didn’t even know it was possible to be this gorgeous. Don’t think I didn’t read about America’s most eligible bachelorette.”
Your cheeks flush with heat and you hide your face in his neck “oh hush Fumi. Always flustering me. Like you haven’t FaceTimed me every week. And that article was a joke” he sighs softly and you can see emotions swirling in his eyes.
“It’s different in person” he says and you sigh as you gaze up at him with a smile “it certainly is”
Once dark shadow decided to ruin the moment you remembered you were still in the airport. Fumi carried your big suitcase like it wasn’t a hundred pounds and before you could object dark shadow had your backpack across his back. Dark Shadow just laughed when you stuck your tongue out at him. “we’ve really missed you” he said when he handed you your water, your glasses and hat already on his body
You fall back into an easy rhythm with Fumikage, teasing and playing while talking in his car back to the apartment. After laughing so hard and catching your breath, you look over at his profile and your heart skips. The sun is hitting his feathers, his black button up shirt that was unbuttoned at the neck pulled at his biceps as his right hand rests against the shifter and his left hand was on the steering wheel. God you didn’t know if this was a good idea. You thought you were going back to your childhood home but being with Fumikage nothing has felt more like home than this.
“The boxes you sent over should be here in the next few days. If you need anything or don’t have something you can always come over, I have a spare key for emergencies” he’s going over a few things that it seems like he’s really thought about before you came. He was prepared and it warmed your heart. You smiled up at him as the elevator dinged for the fourth floor and he looked down at you eyes widening as he catches you staring. you smile and reach out, taking a gentle hold on his free hand near you and give it a soft squeeze. “Thank you Fumi. You think of everything. I’ve really missed that”
He doesn’t let go of your hand until he has to unlock his front door, you’d be staying the night with him and your agent was meeting you in the morning with the keys for your place.
his fingers tingle to grab for your hand again but he doesnt
“You can have my room, I’ll take the couch in my office. It’s a pull out.” You smile from your place standing on the landing just inside the door, watching as he disappears with your luggage down a hallway then comes back walking a little slower and playing with his hands like he does when he’s nervous.
The edge of the landing went down a couple steps and he stopped at the bottom edge “feel free make yourself at your home” he says with a nervous chuckle and you grin, running and jumping off the landing into his arms and burying your face in his shoulder.
“Oh Fumi eight years was too long” you whispered into him and he holds you up effortlessly, his beak brushing your shoulder and he curves into you, desperate to hold you after so long “way too long” he agreed.
———
The weeks seemed to fly by, you were settled into your apartment and you just got done with your first official week at the office.
“So, Tsukuyomi, Sir” you say with a smirk and lean against his open office door “how was my first day boss?”
He crosses his arms over his wide chest and gave you his best Boss look, making your heart flutter and causing your cheeks to heat up. you chuckled and tried not to show how flustered you were when you walked farther into his office. He stood from his desk and gave you a nod with a soft chuckle “you did well. I think you’re going to love it here. Let me take you to dinner tonight to celebrate”
——
He showed up at your door at seven and your breath catches in your throat when you see him. Black straight jeans with a black button up tucked in with a red tie and black boots. He looked divine. Like a god of the underdark. His hands were fixing his tie and you stepped forward, not missing the squeak of his own breath catching in his throat at the sight of you, and fixed his tie for him.
You had on a red dress and a black jean jacket that has rolled sleeves and pair of black booties that look like you could kick someone’s ass in them. His brain immediately short wired and all he can think is how well you look together. How right. How good. Fuck this was going to be harder than he thought to just be your friend but he didn’t want to you to think he was a sleaze or make you quit his agency.
Your hands fix his tie and then rest against his chest, when you see his flustered eyes and nervous body language you chuckle and lean up, kissing his beak gently, then wiping the lipstick with your thumb “you look really handsome Fumi” you say softly and he feels a whimper catch in his throat.
your eyes turn from him up to Dark Shadow who had on a matching tie “is it too much?” He asks and you laugh “you look good in it but I do think you pull off natural look best” he nods and salutes you “message received” before taking it off and tossing it into your apartment behind you.
When you look back to Fumi he’s glaring at Dark Shadow like he was a bad child and you chuckled before boldly taking his hand, hoping you read the signs right and that he did feel the same.
“Are you ready?” You ask and he nods, his fingers tighten around your hand as he relaxes, giving you a soft squeeze before placing your hand on his bicep and holding you close as he cleared his throat “I got a reservation at this new restaurant downtown” he says as you enter the elevator and you smile up at him “anywhere with you is perfect”
Dinner went by incredibly quick, you sat in a back booth, talking and laughing the whole night. It was a new restaurant that catered to people with any kinds of quirks and had surprisingly good tofu and fish. (I mean who’s gonna get the chicken on date with a bird?)
By the end of the meal he’s grabbed your hand over the table and is running his fingers against yours softly. “Thank you for tonight Fumi, I really feel like being here was the right choice. I would have came no matter what my agent said” his eyes widened a little
“Really?” He asks and you laugh with a grin “of course! You’re special to me and I just needed a good reason to come back home” your expression was so soft he felt those three words crawl up his tongue.
His eyes look serious for a moment as he looks at the way your hands look together “y/n I need to tell you something” he says and gets extra serious
“What is it?” You ask, trying to keep your voice neutral even tho you know your face screams ‘I’m worried now’
He meets your eye for a few long seconds before he shakes his head. He couldn’t. He couldn’t ruin this close friendship when he wasnt positive his feelings would be returned. “Never mind. It’s not that important. What do you say about dessert?”
He was leaning on the table on his elbows, close enough to reach out and touch over the tiny table, and so you did. You reach up and ran your fingers lightly over the edges of his feathers with a soft smile. “Of course Fumi. But how about we go to the cookie place by the park you always talk about. I know you like it and it’s a perfect night for a walk.” He swallows hard and nods “that’s a perfect idea” he says as he signals for the waiter to pay.
You hold his hand all the way to the cookie place, talking easily and joking around, but you keep hoping for the perfect moment to confess. You had a feeling that’s what he was going to do at the restaurant, it changed your heart and convinced you to take the leap, almost positive he felt the same.
You sit on a bench in the park, one with perfect view of the city skyline, eating your cookies and dark shadow is teasing you about the time you kept stealing Tokoyami’s poptarts from the dorm kitchen. Your cheeks are hot and you’ve turned yourself towards Tokoyami, your left hand on your cheek and your face hidden in his shoulder as you laughed together, your right hand rested on his kid thigh. It felt so easy. So absolutely right.
You drop your hand from your cheek and look up at Tokoyami with a soft smile, heart racing at the emotion you find in his eyes.
“I’m sorry for stealing your poptarts” you say and his throat catches again at the way your eyes seem to shine with love for him he almost feels it’s too much but he wants to dive deeper, to drown in the love he finds.
He chuckles and cups your cheek “I never cared. I had the hugest crush on you then”
Your heart skips and your cheek heats even more under his touch “and now?” You ask, voice barely above a whisper
“Now I’m so in love I don’t know if it’s even quantifiable” he says with a hint of exasperation as he leans down and presses his forehead to yours.
Your eyes flutter closed as your heart thrums against your ribs, his confession echoing in your head as fireworks explode in your heart. You press a kiss on his beak and your heart skips when you hear a gasp catch in his throat
“I’m in love with you too, Fumi” you say and he pulls you into a hug, nuzzling his beak into your neck, wanting to get close to you to show you how much he loves you the best he can since he can’t properly kiss you.
He nips softly at your neck skin and you giggle so sweetly he feels light headed. You pull back and kiss his cheek before looking into his eyes. He cups your cheek again “that’s what I wanted to say back at the restaurant”
You chuckle and smile, taking his hand you press gentle kisses against his palm, trailing a few down to his wrist before saying with a smirk “I know”

⎼⎼⎼⎼⎼⎼⎼⎼⎼⎼⎼⎼⎼⎼⎼⎼⎼⎼⎼⎼⎼⎼⎼⎼⎼⎼⎼⎼⎼⎼⎼⎼⎼⎼⎼⎼⎼⎼⎼⎼⎼⎼⎼⎼⎼⎼⎼⎼⎼⎼⎼⎼
"I dare you to pretend like you're dating Jungwon for a whole week."
You looked at your best friend with wide eyes, a similar expression of surprise on his face. There was no way you were going to do that. It would be way too awkward.
"Come on y/n. Don't be a party pooper. It's not like you guys are going to fall in love."
Of course things wouldn't turn out that way. No matter what, nothing would change the way you saw Jungwon. He would always remain your best friend and nothing more.
Jungwon looked too embarrassed to say anything. Both of you knew it was just a dare. What was the worst that could happen?
"Fine. Starting tomorrow Jungwon's my unofficial-official boyfriend," you announced, linking your arm with his. Jungwon hid his face in his hands as everyone around you screamed and cheered. This was going to be one interesting week.
~
☀︎ DAY 1 ☀︎
Since you only had to put on a show in front of your friends, you figured the best thing to do would be to hang out with Jungwon in solitude. He didn't have a problem with your plan. You both had been having playdates together ever since you were three. He was comfortable being alone with you.
Both of you met at your secret spot. A small grove behind the schoolyard. It was a place the two of you had found while skipping classes one day. Ever since then, this was where you spent time together whenever you needed some peace and quiet.
"I can't believe you actually agreed to this," Jungwon said, mindlessly plucking the grass he laid on. You sighed, staring at the row of trees beyond. "A dare's a dare. Besides, we have nothing to worry about because we don't have feelings for each other."
Jungwon sat up. "You know that we can't avoid all of them for the entire week right? They're literally planning to hang out at the cafe just so they can see us in the act." He sounded worried. There was no need to be.
"Of course I know that. So what? We'll let them see what they want to. It's not like they're going to make us kiss or something. The most we'll do is feed each other and hold hands."
Unlike Jungwon, you had already thought everything out. You knew how far to go while respecting the boundaries of your friendship. All Jungwon had to do was trust you.
He cringed in disgust at your words. "You're going to pay for landing me in this mess. We've barely even started and I already feel so miserable."
You patted his shoulder, flashing him an assuring smile. "You're not alone in your miser mister. After this is over, I'll do all your homework for you."
Jungwon laughed. "Learn how to do your own first. Then you can come and ruin mine."
~
☀︎ DAY 2 ☀︎
As Jungwon had predicted, your friends called you out to the cafe. Both of you were supposed to show up together. Jungwon met you a block away from the cafe, looking incredibly reluctant. "Are you sure you want to do this," he asked, just about ready to turn back around.
There was a determined look in your eyes. "Remember when he had to play Hansel and Gretel's parents for that play we did in preschool?" Jungwon nodded. He could never forget that day. "If we managed to get through that, we can get through this without a problem."
That made sense. Appreciative of your pep talk, Jungwon took your hand and whisked you away to the cafe.
By the time you reached your destination, both your hands were sweaty. Jungwon was just as nervous as you were. Not only because you had to pretend like you were dating, but also because your friends weren't going to miss the opportunity to tease you.
Seeing you two enter hand in hand, everyone began hooting and cheering. Jungwon's cheeks flushed almost immediately. You had to drag him towards the table you were supposed to sit at. "It's nice to see you two arriving together," one of your friends said, making space for you.
Taking a seat, you watched in horror as they placed a glass of juice with two straws in front of you both. No one had to explain what its purpose was. You glanced at Jungwon whose eyes were fixated on the glass hesitantly.
"If we get this over with now we'll be at peace," you whispered, leaning forward to place one of the straws between your lips. You looked away when Jungwon did the same, feeling the heat in his face on your cheek. You were certain you had never downed a drink so fast in your life. It didn't take long for you to finish the contents of the glass, quickly sitting back up to catch your breath. Your friends couldn't seem to get enough of the event, laughing and clapping avidly.
"You guys are so cute," some said. "Both of you would make such a nice couple in reality," said others.
Sitting there amongst your terribly evil friends, you wondered how you were going to get through the next five days with Jungwon.
~
☀︎ DAY 3 ☀︎
Your friends had invited you to another escapade at the park. You couldn't tell what they had in plan this time but you were sure it wasn't going to be enjoyable. At least this time, you and Jungwon didn't have to show up hand in hand.
When you reached the park, Jungwon was already there. Your friends beckoned you over, making you stand next to him.
"Now that our subjects have arrived, here's your to-do list. First, remain holding hands the entire time we are here. Second, Jungwon, give y/n your jacket if she starts feeling cold. Third, walk her back home and make sure you give her a nice, sweet little kiss before she goes inside."
Jungwon let out a noise of surprise. He wanted to run as far as he could and never come back. Holding your hand was fine. He had gotten used to it because of the previous day. He didn't mind giving you his jacket, but you were already wearing one so he didn't see why he would find the need to. Jungwon could do many things. But kissing you was not one of them. It didn't matter if it was on your cheek, your forehead, or the back of your hand, because there was no way on earth that he would bring his lips anywhere near yours.
What neither of you realized was that your friends were willing to go to the farthest lengths to make sure you went through with their tasks. They made you two walk in front of them so that they could see your hands intertwined. When the sun went down and the air started getting colder, they made you take your jacket off so that Jungwon would be left with no choice but to give you his. Just when it seemed like your night of torture would come to an end, they even made you share a single cone of ice cream. When it was finally time to go home, two of your friends followed behind you to make sure that Jungwon did his bidding. It was awkward enough walking through your neighborhood hand in hand. Those who knew you cast looks of confusion and surprise upon you two. Eventually, you reached your doorstep. Jungwon let go of your hand, standing in front of you. He looked everywhere but at you, avoiding your gaze. You glanced behind your shoulder, rolling your eyes when you saw your two friends filming you from behind your neighbor's car. They weren't even attempting to be discrete.
"Hurry up and kiss me already. This is too embarrassing," you urged, slapping Jungwon's arm. He sucked in a breath, pressing his lips in a thin line. "Do you think it's not for me? I mean, I'm the one who has to kiss you for heaven's sake."
"Stop pitying yourself and just get on with it. The longer we stand here the more reason they'll have to punish us tomorrow."
Jungwon stared at you long and hard. He squeezed his eyes shut and leaned forward, pressing his lips onto yours without a second thought. You froze, eyes going so wide they might have popped out of your head. Even though it was probably only for two seconds, it felt like an eternity. Time froze as you stood in the foreign feeling of his lips on yours. He pulled away almost immediately, skipping down your driveway as fast as he could with a short wave and 'good night'. Still stunned, you entered your home, breaking into a smile when you closed the door.
~
☀︎ DAY 4 ☀︎
The next day, Jungwon asked you to meet him at your secret spot. So far, your friends hadn't made any plans to get you together. You saw Jungwon sitting in the middle of the grove, laying down on the damp grass as he usually did. Walking over, you sat down beside him, flicking his forehead so that he would open his eyes.
He grinned on seeing you, sitting up with a soft groan. "So, how was your night?"
You furrowed your brows at the question. It wasn't like him to ask you things like that. But you decided to overlook it. Maybe he was still feeling a bit awkward after the kiss you both hard shared the previous night.
You shrugged. "It was fine. How was yours?"
"I couldn't sleep," he revealed. It sounded like he'd been dying to tell you. "Why's that," you asked, believing that you had an idea of the reason.
"Last night scarred me," Jungwon shared, pretending to gag. You didn't know why, but hearing him say that made your heart sink. Suddenly, you felt horrible. "Was it really that bad," you asked, genuinely curious to know what he thought of it. Jungwon nodded, making you feel even worse. "It was worse than I thought it would be," he added. Your eyes started stinging. A lump formed in your throat and the longer you held it back, the more it hurt. You knew you hadn't been eager to kiss him, but you would argue about how 'bad' it was. But bringing that up right now would just be stupid. Jungwon would misunderstand where you were coming for and that would just lead to another disaster entirely. You had told yourself that you weren't going to let this dare get to you, but four days in you were already slipping. The longer you sat there, listening to Jungwon whine and complain about everything he'd had to do with you so far, the harder it became to control your emotion. Not able to take it anymore, you got up abruptly and ran away, leaving Jungwon sitting there extremely puzzled.
~
☀︎ DAY 5 ☀︎
You didn't respond to any of Jungwon's calls or texts. You didn't have it in you to face him. He would be disappointed if he found out the real reason behind your sappy mood. So you were gonna wait till you got over it before facing him.
You still couldn't believe that you had been so affected by Jungwon saying that he hated the kiss. Despite telling yourself that you disliked it too, you couldn't help but think otherwise. There was something so magical about it. You had never felt that way because of a kiss before. Whenever you thought back to it, an exciting warmth rippled through your mind. Your heart danced in glee and a wide smile formed on your lips.
But you weren't supposed to feel that way. Jungwon was your best friend. Besides, he hadn't kissed you willingly. You didn't understand why it felt so special to you when it clearly meant nothing to him. You knew you couldn't blame him for that. His mind was wired to see you as nothing more than a friend. You found it hilarious. Here you were, realizing that you probably liked your best friend after having continuously assured yourself and him that something like that would never happen. The sad part was that Jungwon would never reciprocate your feelings. You were all alone in this.
A knock sounded at your window, startling you. Slipping out of your reverie, you glanced towards it, eyes widening in surprise when you saw Jungwon crouched before it. You didn't think twice before letting him in. He entered your room and stood in front of you, crossing his arms over his chest. "You wanna explain what happened yesterday?"
You frowned and turned away shoulders slouching disinterestedly. "Is that what you came here for," you asked, regretting letting him in?
"Well did I have a choice? You've been blatantly ignoring me while all I've been trying to do is make sure you're alright," he said, stepping closer to you.
"I'm fine. If that's all you needed to hear, you can leave now," you replied. You didn't need him prying and prodding at you right now.
Jungwon stood his ground, clearly not satisfied with your answer. "No, you're not y/n. You aren't fine. Tell me what's bothering you."
You sighed and faced him. "Trust me, you wouldn't want to know."
Jungwon furrowed his brows. He didn't know what that meant. "I think I'll be the judge of that."
"It's you. You're bothering me," you spoke, narrowing your eyes at him. Jungwon hadn't been expecting that. But he didn't let the surprise show on his face. "What did I do?"
"You made me feel so worthless and undesirable. But that's not your fault. I can't blame you because you're right to think that way about me. I'm just pitying myself here and there's nothing you can do about it so please, just leave me alone." The tears were coming back again. You didn't want to break down in front of Jungwon. His face fell. He didn't know what to say to that. He thought you knew he was just being overdramatic. He seriously hadn't meant to hurt you. Before he could apologize, you turned to him. "I don't think I'll be good at keeping this a secret, so let me just tell you that I'm starting to catch feelings for you. If that makes you uncomfortable then you can leave. If you have something to say, just say it and go. But don't ask me why I feel the way I do because that's something I'm yet to figure out."
Jungwon was at a loss for words. He stood there, gaping at you like an open-mouthed fish before turning on his heel and exiting through your bedroom door. You heard your mother yelp on seeing him, probably wondering where he had shown up from. A part of you wished that he hadn't left, but the other was glad that he was gone. You felt like a fool for letting all of this happen. You should have never agreed to this dare. Who would have thought it would lead to something like this? There was nothing you could do now. There was no way you could change the way you felt. Because at the end of the day, it was as clear as ever, that you were undeniably in love with your best friend Yang Jungwon.
~
☀︎ DAY 6 ☀︎
Jungwon couldn't stop thinking about everything you had told him yesterday. He would never have imagined that you would catch feelings, especially through such a childish dare. Your friends had called you out to the park again today, but Jungwon wasn't going to go. He knew you wouldn't be there so there was no point. He wished he could tell you that he hadn't meant half the things he'd said about the kiss at the grove that day. He was just trying to show you that the kiss hadn't made him feel some type of way. Not just that, but he was also attempting to persuade himself that he indeed had loathed it. Maybe he should have been truthful instead of lying about it.
This was exactly what he'd been afraid of. Jungwon was always fond of you. He cared for you and he wouldn't lie when he said that he loved you. But the more he thought about it, the more he realized that maybe he felt that way because he thought of you as more than a friend. Jungwon didn't want to convince himself that he liked you just because you had confessed to him. He wanted to understand the way he truly felt about you.
He knew every little thing about you. No one knew you as well as he did. Jungwon cherished your friendship and the time he spent with you. Whenever anything bugged him, he always came to you, knowing that you were the only person who could make things better. He relied on you more than anyone else. He couldn't go a day without speaking to you. After yesterday, he realized how important you were to him. The fear of losing you ate at him the longer he stayed away from you.
Jungwon hated knowing that you were sad. It hurt more to know that he was the reason behind it. He wanted nothing more than to hug you and apologize for making you feel bad. He felt guilty for everything he had done. It had only been a couple hours since he had last spoken to you, but it felt longer. He missed you so much.
So he left you a text, asking you to meet him at your secret spot. He kept his phone close, waiting till you replied. But you didn't. You probably wanted nothing to do with him. Nonetheless, he still hoped and prayed that you would give him one last chance to make things right again. He couldn't afford to lose someone as special as you. There was nothing for him if he didn't have you.
~
☀︎ DAY 7 ☀︎
Jungwon laid in the grass, staring at the dull sky above. It was filled with clouds, hiding the sun. The grove felt so big and endless when he was alone. When he was with you, it was much more cozy and bright, even if the atmosphere was gloomy.
He had been waiting for you for quite a long time now. You hadn't replied to his message last night, but he knew you had seen it. Just before he was about to lose hope, he heard the grass crunch a few feet away from him. Jungwon didn't have to look to know it was you. No one else knew the path to get here.
"What do you want," you asked, voice small but laced with malice. You were cross with him. Jungwon wished to change that today. He patted the space next to him. "Let's not pretend like we hate each other. You could do the worst thing to me but I'd still admire you."
You didn't argue and sat down beside him. Other than the tension in the air, everything felt normal. There was a scowl on your face. It must have taken a lot of convincing for you to come here. Jungwon needed to get to the point.
"I'm sorry about everything I said. I didn't even mean half of those things."
You scoffed. "Oh really? They sounded pretty heartfelt to me."
Jungwon sat up. "I was just trying to enforce the idea that I wasn't into you, on myself," he revealed, hoping that you would forgive him. "And being a dick was the only way you could do that? Jungwon, you weren't the only one who was attempting to suppress their feelings," you refuted.
"I know y/n. And it's my fault for not realizing sooner," he admitted, hanging his head. You sighed and shook your head. "This is so immature. I can't believe we're letting a stupid dare get in the middle of our friendship."
Jungwon chuckled darkly. "Maybe it's a sign that our friendship has run its course."
You turned to him. "What is that supposed to mean?"
Jungwon smiled. "I gave it some thought yesterday. We're both attempting to be in denial of our feelings. Obviously, that isn't working out. If it wasn't for this dare, they would've remained buried deep down somewhere. But I guess you could say everything happens for a reason." He took your hand in his, intertwining your fingers. "I never realized how much I loved this feeling until I had to go a whole two days without it."
You couldn't even hide your smile. "Where is this going Jungwon?"
"Maybe we should give this a chance. Give us a chance. Who knows? It could turn out the be the best thing that's ever happened to us," he said, meeting your eyes.
"And what if it doesn't? We would be throwing so many years of friendship away."
Jungwon shook his head. "How long are we supposed to contradict how we truly feel about each other? That would take a heavier toll on us."
You laughed, squeezing his hand. "It doesn't hurt to try I guess."
Jungwon beamed. "That's the spirit!" It felt nice to see you smiling at him again. He was grateful for that. It was funny how a large part of his mood depended on you. If you were happy, he was happy. If you were sad, he was sad. His entire world revolved around you, and Jungwon knew the best thing to do was strengthen that bond.
"So, will you be my girlfriend," he asked, smiling cheekily. You bit your lip, looking at him through your lashes. "Of course I will."

| you just needed him to do this one thing … then you wouldn’t ask for anything more | sukuna ryomen rating: 18+
a/n: we only accept au sukuna in this nandos. my second longest work to date and its sukuna.
Tumblr media
maybe it was because you were tired of hearing it all.
about how you were such a good girl. so ambitious and focused on your studies. they made it seems so honorable that you were willing to put boys on the back burner in order to achieve your goals.
as if you had a choice.
as if you weren’t a timid little thing who incidentally teased the edges of something before falling back the recesses of your comfort zone. how many apps had you applied for only to waste the time of yourself and others. those sites were never meant to find true love- just conveniently hook ups to release pent up stress.
and you had a lot of it.
so maybe that's why you decided that it was okay to have a little more to drink tonight- to wander further from your friends into the wilderness. you could have one day to make a bad decision and face the consequences for it.
clubs were never your thing which was likely another reason why you were in this drought.
it wasn’t as easy as you thought it would be, as old habits die hard. every so often you were approached with promises of drinks and suggestive conversation. and each one you shied away from and earned a scoff before they already started in pursuit of their next challenge.
it was possible that you were doing it wrong. you lacked the confidence to just ask for what you wanted, mostly because you didn’t know.  play coy, they told you, make them do the work for you.
so you find yourself on the dance floor instead with a new strategy. lost among the masses with the bass thrumming in your veins. here there would be no room for talk.
it only takes one song for you to feel him behind you. he doesn’t whisper sweet things in your ear. instead, his hands start at your hips, just a brush of touch to see how you react. when you don’t move away, he pulls you close and moves your hips in slow circles.
you’re immediately attracted to his confidence. in the way he guides your hand upward, instead of lower, encouraging your hand to grip at the short of his hair. the angle it provides is an open invitation for him to begin placing open mouthed kisses up the length of your neck. when he reaches your ear he pauses, and you hear the dark timber of his voice.
“i saw you turning away all those little boys earlier. what are you looking for, kitten?”
kitten. you shiver at the name.  main characters in novels always turned into a giddy mess over the pet name, losing themselves to the velvety whispered promises and underlying possession. the name brought more of a thrill than anything else; to know that he had been watching you in the distance.
you fight the urge to turn, wanting to stay in the moment for as long as you could. for some reason, like this, you think you could become the person he thinks you are. someone who knows what she wants and doesn’t accept anything less. back at the bar, men asked you too many questions and allowed the opportunity for your insecurities to bleed through.
like this, you only needed to admit one thing.
“i want you.”
its stupid and reckless. he could be a list of anything dangerous yet you advanced him to the top of the list. it was too early to tell but you hope he could be the one. then all of of the little details wouldn’t matter. you were here to lose your first time, not remember it.
you don’t expect him to use the grip on your hips to turn you, the sudden shift and lingering alcohol leaving you disoriented for a moment.
he was tall, though you had judged so from the reach it took to curl your fingers into his nape. the hair you had been blindly acquainted with turned out to be an unusual pale shade of pink. but it worked for him, and the interesting accompaniment of vermillion eyes. you were just starting to account the black lines of dark ink peeking from under his sleeve when his voice drew your attention back to his face.
his grin was telling. he wanted you to take him in because he knew you’d like what you saw. he doesn’t even need to ask. it was too early to tell if he was calling your bluff or enabling it.
he brings his mouth down to hover above yours, lips brushing as he speaks,”so your place or mine?”
this is what you needed, no thoughts beyond what your bodies could offer. this was the man who would take your virginity.
the first sign of hesitance you show is when offering your home. it was close enough to the campus and your neighbors would hear your scream if your ignorance turned out to be your undoing. he agrees, naturally, because why would he turn down a willing lay?
your fingers fumble quickly and shakily as you quickly text your friends that you’re bringing someone back. the answers vary from concern, to disbelief, to excitement and back to apprehension. ultimately, your roommates agree to leave the apartment to you for the night but vow to turn up first thing in the morning.
all the while, his hand is at the small of your back as he guides you towards the entrance. the icy cold air that hits you when you step outside is unkind to the thin sheen of sweat you’d accumulated. the price paid to look good rarely came cheap. the heat radiating from behind you was less of a comfort and more of a reminder as you shift from foot to foot in wait for a taxi.
“ names’ sukuna.”
it came as a jest rather than to inform. the way your eyes widen in realization proving that you’d skimmed over that step unintentionally. the men prior had offered it up without prompting as if it as their key trait in the introductions. while you’d grinded on this man for nearly two songs and hadn’t even thought to ask.
you stumble over your own name and his grin widens further.
he leans close enough for your visible breaths to mingle.
“you’re so fucking cute, kitten. i can’t wait to unwrap you.”
and then he was kissing you senseless.
he tastes of whiskey and menthol, a savory smokiness that would be a lingering flavor for hours to come. there was a unique sense of excitement that came from kissing a stranger. the anxiousness blurred the lines between your thoughts and emotions. his tongue met yours and swept it into a fast, claiming pace.
just when your hands rose to find purchase on his shirt, the incoming headlights fanned against your joined bodies. sukuna, the apparent level-headed one, pulled away for you.
“don’t worry, we’ll have plenty to explore soon.”
sukuna surprisingly does not encroach on your space in the back of the taxi. his arm rests comfortably along the back of your seat, but his fingers don't chase the easy access to the back of your neck there. it makes you annoyingly anxious as your knee jumps in place. you refrain from looking at him in the corner of your eye already knowing what awaits you on his lips.
the remainder of the drive is short and uneventful.it takes less than ten minutes between the club and the arrival at your front door. you impress yourself with the lack of tremors as you fit your key into the door and welcome you into your home.
the light from the kitchen highlights only what you need to make it to your bedroom without injury. too many had happened before that became habitual prior to any night out.
there is a rattle in your spine as you carefully pull one shoe off than the other. its an action that you take your time with as you gather your thoughts. when you look back at him, he hasn’t wandered a step from the entrance, though his gaze travels where the light allows. at the feel of your gaze he cocks a brow,”i’m waiting on you kitten.”
right.
this was happening.
you’d made it this far.
tilting your head, you lead him to your bedroom without another word. you’re thankful that your widow sits in view of the night sky, taking the place of any artificial light you might have to provide.
every muscle is as stiff as a board as you toss your shoes into a corner. your mouth opens to stupidly point out that this is your room.
sukuna laughs, because why wouldn’t he after learning the mysterious vixen not only had a name but was a timid little thing. still he didn’t cater to your anxiety nor did he allow it to slow his pace.
his arms flex as he reaches behind himself to pull at his shirt from the tag. you’d caught glimpses of his tattoos in the darkness of the club without really looking, but you haven't been able to connect the lines of a pseudo sleeve. the double bands circle both wrists and biceps with encompassing circles swirling around his shoulders. it was a simple yet uniform pattern. you could just see the beginning of another figure curing from behind his neck as well.
“i’m starting to think that i should just be flattered when you get quiet like that.”
his hand makes itself home again at your waist as he walks you backwards until the edge of your bed knocks against the back of your knees. sukuna keeps you from falling back while his fingers go to curl at the hem of your dress.
“it’s only fair,” he says in your ear, as if the removal of his shirt was any kind of equivalence.
he helps you along the way, or maybe makes it worse as he starts to kiss your neck. his hands slide along every new available inch of skin from your thighs to your navel. he shamelessly cups your bra, squeezing the mounds in appreciation.
sukuna pulls away to rid you of the dress entirely. before you can adjust to the loss, he leans back in to unhook your bra as an afterthought.
he grins when you immediately bring your arms over your exposed chest,”don’t be shy. this is what you wanted, right?”
you don’t miss the implied probe behind the tease. it's faint but it’s comforting to know he’s still seeking consent and it eases a bit of your anxiety.
it makes you pliant enough for him to cup the backs of your thighs and lie you back against the sheets. though the moment your bare skin comes in contact with the sheets with his broad form hovering over you, all the brief conviction shrivels up.
your hands curl into the bedding for leverage when his weight is suddenly there to ease you back down. his arms slip around you to anchor you in place, pinning you under the hard warmth of his chest. his lips meet your ear, tongue sliding along the shell,” these mixed signals are going to get old real quick, kitten. “
there is a warning there but you don’t know what exactly it alludes too. how could you when you’d invited a complete stranger into your home.
but sukuna seems to know what to look for, eyes carefully watching the way you shy away from his touch yet draw yourself back on your own. he’s attune to the push and pull, seeming to understand the paradoxical conundrum that you’d drug him into.
you can just barely catch the cut of his smile in the darkness,”are you a virgin, kitten?” he asks, voice light and cool.
the way his body is keeping you in place makes it impossible for you to curl in on yourself, your embarrassment left on display.
“oh baby, if you let me, i’ll take good care of you.”
and how could you not agree to that?
he swallows your affirmation, tongue pushing into your mouth and making you groan.
“ ‘m gonna make you feel so good.”
his hands slide between the apex of your thighs to cup you, digits gliding along your covered slit. two fingers from his other hand press against the aperture of your mouth with the single command to suck.
you only hesitate briefly, tongue flicking out to taste the salt from his fingers. his impatience grows in the moment, idly feeding you a few inches until your lips hollow to stop him before he can reach the back of your throat. it feels more like a sloppy mess than anything remotely sexy as you drool around him, sucking harder to contain the wetness.
but sukuna seems to eat up the attention, idly thrusting in and out when he can. “you’re such a good learner,” he praises with hoarseness.
a garbled squeak manages to leave you as the elastic of your panties is pulled from your hips. you can feel the stick trail connecting you to the fabric, but seeing it is a whole new wave of mortification.
sukuna is able to tug them down to your ankles before your legs can lock up. “don’t be shy. i love filthy girls like you.“ your nerves jump to attention when he presses his thumb against your throbbing clit. “i can work with this.”
you gasp, lips losing their grip on his fingers, as you press your head back against the pillow. heat rises in the low of your stomach, a sensation that you’d never been able to achieve on your own. he starts with a single digit, easily making its way through your passage with the slick provided. his fingers crook in search of an ideal angle, making a sound of encouraging praise when you keen and rock your hips down for more.
your lashes flutter with the effort of keeping them open as he manipulates friction against your sex.without warning, he adds a second finger in alongside the first,”kitten you have no idea how happy i am that you grinded back against me on that dance floor.” the introduction allows for a scissoring action as he tests the stretch of your walls.
you’re happy to have the flat to yourself as the next whimper shatters your coherency, snapping any restraint that you had on your volume. sukuna chuckles at your cry, flexing his touch to reach new depths.
“i really wanted to see what you could do with your mouth but i don’t think i can wait.”
he gives one last swipe against the tackly mess before he fumbles with his belt. you don’t get offended when he only drops his pants far enough to free his cock. its distracting enough watching him stroke himself idly to fullness. sukuna harbors no shame as he cants his hips, fucking into the tight circle of his fist.
he pulls his wet fingers from your lips and you swallow around the absence.
you’re immediately grateful when he pulls out a condom, uncaring when the empty foil packet gets lost on your floor.
sukuna can feel the tightness as he palms your hip and positions himself at the stretch of your entrance.
“don’t go getting all nervous on me. i went through such a great deal to prepare you for this.”
his hand slides past your naval to grip your breast, rolling the hardening peak with his thumb. the lack of attention they’d received thus far acts as enticing interference.
he still doesn’t go for the unanticipated approach, keeping you vaguely aware by running the head of his cock up and down your dripping cunt.
it’s still easier said than done as all the reddit and gossip forums come reeling back the the forefront. you hadn’t even thought to get a towel, what if there was a lot of blood- too much? should you have gotten painkillers ?
above you sukuna tsks and you jolt from the sharp pain of him cruelly pinching your nipple. when you go to protest, he merely gives you a look, holding your gaze while his head drops take the abused bud into his mouth.
when he gives a particularly hard suck you know what’s coming as his hips roll up against you.
he’s big. of course he’s big given that he’s your first and all that you’ve had prior to your own fingers are his. sukuna expresses a show of kindness that you weren’t expecting with the initial push, as he uses his grip to ease himself in slowly.
it still burns; the uncomfortable stretch as he drags the friction of his cock past the slick barrier. but its not thee sharp punch you were expecting even before the base meets your pelvis. your hand darts up to smack against the hard flat of his stomach to stop him there but the centimeters separating you were barely negligible.
his mouth pops off of your breast with a wet sound as you pant, squeezing experimentally around the width of him. it was more manageable than you were anticipating, and you adjust your hips in another trial. the movement pulls a sharp hiss from his lips and his fingers clamp down tighter at the curve of your waist.
his vermillion eyes are no longer slits of concentration, now blown wide to contain the depth of lust simmering there. there is a shudder a he holds himself back from fucking into you. “if you’re done playing, i’d like to fuck you now.”
instinct drives you to reach around him, nails gripping traction around his shoulder blades as he grates his hips. the motion starts the first thrusts of many as sukuna introduces you to the truest definition of fucking.
its gradual, the way he picks up speed, introducing each part of you to himself before overpowering the nerves with a firmer touch.you should be embarrassed by the broken sounds leaving your mouth, but you can hardly remember your own name let alone decency.
sukuna on the other hand, relishes in the way he fucks you stupid, taking each bite of your nail and shattered speech with pride. “you have the prettiest fucking mouth for a virgin.”
it was impossible to accept the praise with the way he was knocking the sense from you with each thrust. he made it feel so good. all of it. from the inclination to the way he filled you up.
he continues to slam inside, breathing barely affected by the effort of pulling you apart at the seams. god he just doesn’t shut up. and you don’t want him too. they way he can make you hang from each word.
you don’t know how he can handle words with all the smugness oozing from is lips, “i know you wouldn’t know the difference. but they’re typically so quiet- biting their lip and shit as if they’d scare away their own orgasm.”
“but not you baby. you fucking speak to me.” its not the kind of praise you were expecting but you latch on to it anyway. his arm comes around your waist and brings you forward to pin against his frame.
you don't know what possesses you to do so, mayve its the new proximity,  but your hands cup his face and bring his lips to meet yours. sukuna doesn't fight the action but his attention is elsewhere as your head bobs with the effort of keeping your mouths attached. ultimately it's the sharpness of your teeth against his bottom lip that prompts him to participate.
his tongue shoves past your lips to twist with yours. then he angles his hips just so and you sob. its an epiphany for you but its exactly what sukuna was looking for as he aims there again, and again, abusing that little patch of tissue that makes you witness nirvana.
sukuna drops a hand between your bodies to pass a thumb over your clit. he smirks when you jolt, still managing a perfect enunciation of your name even as his hips lose rhythm.
“all i need you to do tonight is come. can you do that for me, kitten?”
and you can, even without his instruction as your legs come up to squeeze around him despite the tremors. hot pleasure radiates up your spine from the source, washing over you in waves as you spill around him. it feels incredible to finally be able to let go. fuck, you don’t know if anything else will be like this first time. but you’re damn sure not going to forget it anytime soon.
even as your body falls pliant, sukuna keeps the pace as he chases his own release. the beginnings of bruises protest at your hips as he pounds a fragment tempo until he stills. the groan he lets out nearly brings you to a second orgasm as the sound shakes your body.
you’re thankful that he has enough energy to unhinge your legs from his hips, laughing to himself at the little trembles they give off. the act of him leaving you is a strange sensation to describe. despite the beating it took, your cunt still tries to hold him in.
it naturally earns you a crass comment as he uses the edge of your comforter to wipe himself down,”kitten, i don’t think you could handle another round of me.” you don't want to think about where he tossed the condom, just hoping that it was within the vicinity of the trashcan. but that was something future you would have to worry about.
you don’t offer him a place to stay and he doesn’t give you the opportunity to do so.
present you was starting to learn a new type of soreness as you gathered your legs against your chest and bring the blankets around your body. there wasn’t much of a delay as sukuna got dressed, tracing back his steps easily to his discarded shirt and tucking himself away long the way.
when he looks back at you, you must look like a child snuggled away for the night.
his looks at you with silent consideration. it was finally time to conduct the awkward ‘thank yous’ before the two of you parted ways forever. but at least it wasn’t you taking the walk of shame. though you don’t think it will be sukuna either with the swagger still linger in his step.
it’s the blatant admission that you weren’t expecting, “ i like you. so i’ll leave my number for another time.”
that is not how a one night stand should end.
sukuna assumes you can’t handle the basic technological skill of adding his contact to your phone and proceeds to write it instead on the planner board posted by the door. it’s written so big you can just make out the numbers from the bed.
“be sure to call when you think you can handle me at my best.”
you wait, listening for the front door to click shut in his departure before you fall back against your bed. you should really be changing the sheets but you cant bring yourself to do more than roll onto your side.
you did it.
finally experienced all the gossip and jazz everyone talked out.
and now you could focus and get back on track.
without prompt, your gaze drifted over to the dry erase board. sukuna had completely disregarded the individual squares dedicated to different days and messily scrawled his information between two weeks. it was a direct representation of the chaotic energy he gave off.
you would just clean it up in the morning along with any other remnants of this night.
...
or perhaps you could save as a sort of emergency contact.
you’d just discovered a new source of therapy after all.

happier
Tumblr media
synopsis: in which mark was happier with you.
pairing: mark x reader (i attempted to write the mc as gender neutral, so lmk if there are any tips on how to be more considerate! i wanna be able to write as inclusively as possible heh)
genre/category: angst, exes!au
word count: 2.4k
a/n: i have an assignment due in like 20 minutes (so i did not get a chance to proofread!!) but i got distracted thinking about mark while listening to my 2017 simp playlist :D so here's a mini-fic (that was supposed to be a drabble) based on this song!
I saw you walk inside a bar.
When Mark looked up from the almost-empty bottle sitting in front of him, he didn’t expect to be greeted by the sight of you. But what caught him even more off guard was that you were entering the bar hand in hand with someone new.
You, not yet noticing your past lover's hunched figure, walk towards a set of empty bar stools, another man's arms wrapped around your waist like possessive belt. Mark began to stare then. He stared at what used to be his reason. What used to be the one who'd wake him up in the morning, who used to be his reason for coming home when the days were too long, yet somehow eventually bled into nights. He continued to stare at what had been his true source of happiness.
In his eyes, you still were. You were his only radiating source of light that made him feel warm. You were his comfort, like a warm blanket during a rainy day, or an iced tea when the weather was too hot to do anything else but lounge around the house with all fans on full blast.
He said something to make you laugh.
Mark noticed how the one that accompanied you looked at you with a small spark in his eyes as you cover your mouth in attempts to shield your erupting laughter. That was a cute habit of yours when you laughed, and he used to stare at you the same way; he was staring at you almost identically as he's sat across the bar at that moment. The only difference now was that Mark stopped being the reason for your bright smiles and warm laughter.
I noticed how both your smiles were twice as wide as ours.
The first encounter between the two of you would forever be engraved in the mind of Mark Lee.
He was walking around a lake during a camping trip with a few of his friends, mindlessly swinging his arms around to cool off. Mid swing, though, he made contact with something he later found out was your face. He apologized so many times that you had almost busted a lung laughing at the poor boy's terrified features.
Soon, Mark joined you, laughing in harmony because apparently being smacked in the face by someone was the funniest thing to the both of you. Mark proceeded to awkwardly ask for your contact information, hoping to make up for the mishap, and you complied because the man was so darn cute.
One meet-up (he never specified it as a date) turned into two, which turned into three, and soon, you were seeing each other everyday in a small cafe hidden within the corners of your shared campus.
The two of you attended the same university, but due to being in different departments, there was never really a chance to come across one another while running to your next classes, but this cafe was the one spot you two had in common.
The cafe meetings soon turned into cafe dates (he clarified this time that they were in fact, dates), and soon enough, you were both head over heels in love, moving in together as you approached your final years of college.
Mark and your's relationship wasn't perfect, but it was always so much fun. Mark was always able to make you laugh because of how awkward he was, and one time you to left him behind on a trip to the grocery store because he was so embarrassing, making stupid puns at the poor worker just trying to stock the shelves of the cereal aisle. That day, you bought a watermelon the size of both your heads combined to make up for leaving him behind.
Mark bitterly smiled at his recollection. That was one of the last times he and you were able to smile together.
You looked happier.
The last time Mark saw you, it was on a sunny, Saturday afternoon. You were on your way back from a trip to your local convenience store, bags of chips, a tub of ice cream, and boxes of candy spilling out of the watermelon themed reusable bag he had left behind after moving out. You were still wearing his hoodie, then. He left that behind for you too.
It made him smile, knowing that you kept it.
Ain't nobody hurt you like I hurt you.
You felt as though you couldn't breathe. When you entered Mark and your shared apartment, you sensed that something was wrong; that something was missing from your normally warm environment. Mark and you have been arguing more frequently recently, and the night before, it was the worst it had been in years.
Mark had been going out later into the night, sleeping on couches of friend's houses more than in his own bed. Your shared bed. You more often than not woke up to nothing, the radiating warmth missing from your side.
You'd had enough of it, and confronted the man when he walked into the apartment at 2 am. Words spewed from either side, along the lines of "I'm sick of this" and "What is there to be sick of?" Mark ended up sleeping on the couch that night while you cried yourself to sleep, clutching Mark's pillow and attempting to hold onto what used to be the warm, delightful love of your life.
The next day when you woke up, he was gone. He texted you saying he had to leave early for work and that you should go ahead and start your day without him, and you did. You began planning ways to talk things out, to fix things with Mark over a nice dinner.
You set your plan to action and made your way to the local market. When you returned home and stepped foot into the kitchen, though, your eyes landed on a small note placed right in the center of the dining table. Written on that note in Mark's sloppy handwriting were the words, "I'm sorry, but I need to clear my head."
You dropped the note and ran into your bedroom, only to see that Mark had taken almost half of his belongings from the cramped space, along with one of the suitcases the two of you placed behind the closet when you first moved in. He was gone.
But ain't nobody love you like I do.
He'd been gone for about 10 days when you receive a call from Donghyuck. The brown-haired boy informed you that Mark has been sleeping on his couch for over a week and would be stopping by within the next few days to take up all of his friend's belongings he'd left behind.
You hummed, almost numbly, and before hanging up, you mustered up the courage to ask Donghyuck if Mark was currently there with him. He hummed in response, and you mumbled a good before dropping the line completely, falling to your knees and sobbing until you no longer had tears to let fall.
You were broken, and it was all because of Mark, yet a piece of you continuously hoped and prayed that he was safe. That he was living in a proper home with a place to sleep, and that he wasn't too cold because he often got cold very easily.
Mark, on the other end of the line, was silently holding in his cries as his best friend hung up the phone, disconnecting him from his one true love. Mark never intended to hurt you the way that he did, but in his mind, because he loved you so much, too much, he had to let you go.
He was noticing how much he was holding you back, from job opportunities to your social life, he believed he was the reason. He was the reason you declined the job offer in the neighboring city because that meant you'd have to either move out or drag Mark with you, and you chose on neither and stayed. He was the reason you never left the house on weekends because only then was he ever home. He was the reason you had bags under your eyes, he soon realized.
You'd been staying up night after night, waiting for him to come home. You'd been crying because he would come home with bags darker than yours. You'd been losing sleep because you spent too much of your time worrying about him.
He was holding you back by loving you.
So he decided to let you go.
Promise that I will not take it personal, baby.
A few months have passed and Mark's finally settled down in a new place in the town you had rejected the job offer from all those months ago. A part of him wished that moving away would offer you closure, knowing that Donghyuck explained his side of the story to you. Mark wanted so badly to be the one who spoke to you that day, but he was afraid of the confrontation. He was scared he'd break and hold you into his arms and promise to never let you go, bringing himself and you back into the endless loop.
So he left. He moved away and had Donghyuck clean up the mess he'd made. Mark owes him one.
The other part of him, though, hoped that you contacted the agency that offered you the job all those months ago. The selfish part of him prayed that the agency granted your request and offered you the job you passed up on in this new city. He hoped that you and him could start over in a different setting, and maybe a few years from now, run into each other again. You'd be in better places in your lives and the two of you could start over.
He knew he was hoping for too much, but oh a man can dream.
If you're moving on with someone new.
Mark was brought back to the present when he hears a loud shattering of glass. He averted his eyes towards the source of the ruckus and landed his eyes on you. He noticed how your eyes grew into large saucers when he displayed similar shocked features.
Shit.
He quickly and clumsily packed up his belongings as he waved down one of the waiters, asking for the tab. Noticing Mark's shaken composure accompanied by the glares being sent in his direction from the other side of the bar, the waiter sympathetically printed out the bill as fast as he could and didn't let out a peep when Mark underpaid about 10 bucks.
Mark rushed out of the bar, only to be caught by the sound of your voice calling out to him.
"Don't you dare run away." The voice was cold.
"Not again, Mark." It was almost shaking.
You caught up to the man. He turned around, slowly, wishing that this was all just a messed up dream, and the alcohol was only playing tricks with his mind.
Indeed, though, this was his reality. Mark remained silent, only staring at his feet as you approached him.
"Look at me," your voice was softer now, but he noticed the stern edge laced within your words. You were never one to raise your voice, not even when Mark would spew incredulous things at you during an argument. You were always calm.
Mark shifted his gaze from the ground towards your face and noticed you looked wiser. He noticed how your soft features were now more sharp. He noticed how you wore your hair differently. He noticed how you'd ditched your casual jeans and a shirt for something more business-casual. He noticed how your aura had changed into something more serious. He noticed every little change about you.
He also noticed how, beneath all the physical changes, you were still you. You still had the same stars in your eyes. You still had his favorite scent. You still had the same quip in your lip when you spoke. You still had the same smile.
You were smiling at him.
Mark finally managed to meet your eyes, and as you opened your mouth to speak, he cut you off before you could get a sound out.
"You look happier."
Your smile dropped a bit at his observation. He was right, you were happier than you were after the breakup. But you were happier when you were with him. Using other men to distract yourself from Mark worked for a while, but it was never the same.
It's been over a year, and you still missed him. You missed everything about Mark; his smile, his laugh, his posture when he was furiously typing away at his keyboard because he had an essay due in 10 minutes. You missed the way he'd sing to you at night when you woke up from a nightmare, and the way he'd pet down your hair when the two of you wake up in each other's arms after a nap.
And although you missed him, a part of you was still angry at him. Angry that he left without an explanation, and had Donghyuck be the bearer of bad news that he wanted you to be happier. That he wanted you to have a life not revolving around him and his actions.
A part of you hated how he was so selfish, and how he never looked to you for his decision. Yet the other, wiser, part of you was thankful. Thankful that he cared about you enough to let you go, cared about you enough to put your priorities above his own feelings for once. Most importantly, you were thankful that he was your first heartbreak.
Before he was the boy who broke your heart, he was a friend.
You tilt your head a bit sideways, plastered another smile and nodded in response.
"It's a process."
He smiled back, toothy grin warming your heart. "I'm glad you're doing okay."
Maybe it was the universe finally hearing Mark's wishes of starting over, or maybe it was just a mere coincidence that you ran into each other that day. But nonetheless, the encounter made him realize one thing.
"I was happier with you."

Word count: 10,977k
SYNOPSIS: For months, you’ve been trying to hide your little crush on your neighbor who lives on the 18th floor. Until one night, you saw him drunk on the elevator with an empty bottle of Scotch, you asked if he maybe wants to have more of those in your place. And he did more than just agreeing.
Also thank you to these wonderful people: @flowerblu00 @milkyshoooky @sugaaddiction
“Of course, I’d love to….” you spoke low while taking a glass of water to drink. From the rims of the glass, you swore you could see Yoongi trying his best not to smile, playing it cool by pretending to struggle in picking the cooked meat from the grill. You bit the chopsticks to fight a smile, you must admit, that was pretty cute.
--
But Rush Hour. Of all the days you two choose to get laid was on Friday evening—a time where, unfortunately by default, everyone collectively decides to get laid as well. Thus, getting stuck in a sea of red lights. Needless to say, you two were bummed.
The traffic was so terrible, that it sucked you dry… literally. It’s as if a Dementor went around Yoongi’s car, found its way in, and unfashionably sucking you from underneath your seat. (Which by the way doesn’t look sexy at all. Seriously, who gets turned-on from that idea? Clearly not you) You were damn fine damp a minute ago, and now it felt uneventfully dry.
“You know what? This is ridiculous. I can see a motel nearby, why don’t we go there in the meantime?” you dramatically lamented from your seat. Yoongi, who was drinking iced coffee, almost choked to hear you declare your frustration so casually.
“Well, um…” he peered through the windshield “I can see the cars are moving in the next lane…”
“The motel is right over there” you pointed, emphasizing the short distance between the car and the building to his left.
He gulped “I uh-- I don’t like to take you to some sleazy motel. Besides, we have our own place” he starts counting by the finger “One, we don’t have to lie down on dirty sheets. Two, won’t clearly hear people moaning next door, and lastly no one’s gonna charge us by the hour…” facing you and concern
“Tell that to your friend who’s waning by the minute…” you pursed your lip pointing in his nether region. He instinctively closed his legs at your retort and chuckled “It’s fine, we’ll be fine… thanks for the genuine concern. Oh look, the light turned green! See, we’re moving?  I think the next lane is pretty lax...”
You can only huff as your dry reply.
As much as he wanted to leave with you right away and get to the nearest subway station the very moment you agreed, he couldn’t.  Because of all the days he decided to feel horny, he chose to go out with his car. He shut his eyes and dropped his head on the steering wheel to express his blowing resentment towards the cars, gradually becoming stationary on the said next lane. Thus, extinguishing any glimpse of hope that you two would arrive at his place, at an earlier time.
With an aching face, he wished that he could turn back the time and just to leave his damn car at the apartment building. Just so he could save his own balls from turning blue by the minute.
It was obvious that he was frustrated too, like you. Who wouldn’t? Being jammed in almost half an hour already? Still on the city street, barely moving? You had to deal with it.
Then it hit you: Yeah, why not deal with it?
However, you quickly realized that this may be a hit or miss. Not all people share the same interest or kink, but you were dying to have your back scratched, and so is he. So fuck it, you’re doing it.
You began to move your legs, slowly brushing it against Yoongi’s hand which was resting on the gear. He reacted, naturally. In fact, when the traffic light changed colors from red to green, he accidentally stepped on the gas pretty abruptly which partly shoved you down from your seat “Sorry…” furrowing his eyebrow apologetically, deep enough to find your pardon.
“It’s okay” fixing your hair from the center, and tucking it securely on your ears. Thankfully, you didn’t forget to put on a seatbelt, or else the plan you had in mind would have backfired. He sighed in relief, grateful that you accepted his apology.
Uncontented, you then pressed your hand on top of his. His hands suddenly turned cold as he tightened his grip on the gear, right before your touch. While you were certain that most men reacted positively to it, being open to a semi-public tryst, your expectations were not met. Instead, he cleared his throat and held your hands... held your damn hands.
He gently hit the brake as he approached another mob of halted cars on the next lane. Obviously flustered, he quickly moved his head to the side taking glimpses of whatever there was on his side mirror while withholding his smile. He momentarily pulled his hands away from you to shift his gear to neutral, then held your hands back. He even pushed his own finger in between its gaps and locked it. Locked your damn hands.
Slowly you closed your eyes and took one deep breath, not because your heart started to flutter, but because of your utmost disappointment at his response. This is clearly different from what you wanted to happen.
You took a mental note of the events and Yoongi’s actions, concluding that he was clearly a man who disliked beating around the bush. So, for the sake of being clear on your intention, you aggressively pulled his hand, opened his palms and let it slowly brush the skin hiding underneath your skirt.
He froze. Now you got his attention.
Nervously, he coughed on impulse. While his one hand remained clutched on the steering wheel and his eyes still focused on the road, the other hand was busy grazing your inner thigh. Surprisingly, he didn’t budge. He lets you take control, directing him where you want him to be while touching you gently. You then took his wrist, and guided his fingertips towards where you wanted it from the very beginning.
“Y/N, I just think it’s better if we wai---” for a moment, he had forgotten what he wanted to say to you next, because suddenly he felt his finger move to a place where he is afraid you'll lead it to-- your wet slit.
He swallowed, his mouth left ajar and brows lifted in absolute surprise. “Oh shit” was the only thing he could say.
Whining softly from your seat, he reluctantly moved his head to watch you introduce his fingers to the pleasure of your flesh. You then extended your arms, cautiously reaching for his legs and caressed it intently. His eyes blinked rapidly, as he turned his head back to face the road, refusing to look back. His mouth is still hanging from the air, as his head floats in uncertainty mixed with pure ecstacy.
No one asked but, really, this is what you meant by taking matters into your own hand.
It took him a minute to process what was happening, and as such, he began to return the favor. Now free from your control, he started pressing his finger on your sensitive bud and stroked it gently. He bit his lip right after he heard you moaned, “...Yoongi”
“Fuck” he suddenly saw the traffic light turn red to green. He slowly stepped on the gas pedal,  careful enough to prevent you being thrown from your seat again. He was now steering the wheel with one hand as he flicked your clit with the other at a steady pace. As acknowledgement on being gratified, you opened your legs wider.
He was game.
Yoongi briefly pulled his hands away from you to maneuver the car smoothly on the highway. He grunted at the view of another sight of flooded red lights. He wanted to get home so bad. All he could think of was to get on the bed with you with his cock finally warmed. But the highway had led this poor man’s dreams down in an instant.
Though, you refused to concede to the situation. You are willing to put up a fight against the status quo, ready to deny the world from preventing yours and Yoongi’s happiness from dying each second. Thus, like a good employee of this capitalistic world, you turn this deplorable event from liability to an asset: making this a great opportunity for you and Yoongi to bond closer. (Albeit, a different kind of bonding, that is)
As soon as he stepped on the brakes, you pulled out your seatbelt and moved towards his direction “Your car is heavily tinted right?” you asked while probing the cars around you from your window.
“Yeah, why?” He asked while putting back his hands to your slit, continuing to flick your bud, now significantly fast. You decided to turn it up a notch as you reached for the button of his pants. Slowly, unbuttoning it and pulling his zipper down. He started to pant, nervous to hear you reply.
“Safety first…” You then helped him shift the gear to neutral, and began pulling his pants and boxer roughly half way.
He groaned as he watched you grasp his stiff length, stroking it slow. “Is this what you meant when you asked if my car is tinted?” he quickly jerked his head up to check if the vicinity is safe, then briefly saw you nod your head to a ‘Yes’.
He choked when he sensed his tip poke on to your lips. It didn’t take a while for you to hear him moan when he felt his tip finally pressed the entrance of your mouth, gradually moving down on your tongue and on to your inner cheek. The warmth and wetness you’re giving him puts him in immediate joy.
He hissed at the sight of you taking him whole, and helped you fix your hair by putting it to the side, letting you breathe easy while you bob your head “Nngh… Y/N”
“Like that?” you part a bit and kissed his tip.
“Why do you keep asking the obvious?” he faintly chuckled as he tossed his head from his seat, right when he felt your tongue move from the bottom shaft and up to its head. Then quickly downed on him entirely again. His eyebrow creased automatically, as if contemplating today’s wisdom from the universe that all ‘good things come to those who wait’. He concentrated on that note like a mantra, as he shut his eyes tight.
Even when you were giving him a head, he was still kind enough to help you keep your hair away from your face. Holding it fairly light, trying not to pull. If this isn’t a gentleman thing to do, then I do not know what is.
“Y/N” He began sliding his two fingers in, which left you half giggling and panting at the immediate contact.
“Mm, you are doing me good hm?” you asked while stroking him slowly and watching his eyes closed, barely breathing as he mentally called to thank the universe for being blessed by you “You can add another finger if you want…”
“Damn, you are so hot…” His eyes then lit up, biting his lip and grinning with pride, thus displaying his perfect gummy smile that takes you to greater heights every time he does. “Yeah… I really appreciate your honesty, thank you for telling me you are horny” he replied as he prods his fingers in, progressively fast. Candidly making you clench and moan his name at the same time.
And like a good co-worker, you went back to hustle. Starting from the bottom to his top.
The tightness of your mouth in his shaft, the smell of your sweet perfume, the sound of his fingers squelching inside your very core, and the sight of you taking him whole, like a prized lollipop. Oh, and the fact that he pulled his (now) three fingers out from you to have a little taste…Yes, he nodded to himself. Licking every side of his fingers as if eating at KFC. Indeed, ‘it is finger licking good’.
It became apparent that all his senses were being satisfied when you finally felt him start to shiver. Everything was met, everything was good, everything became so overwhelming for Yoongi that even with his lids close, he can still see the light shine from heaven.
He gasped, leaving him marveled at your greatness by giving him a very good head. In fact, he found it so admirable that you start to feel him throb. Evidently, he is coming.
You were so good, that he barely withholds himself from coming. Along with the fact that he became unaware that his elbow accidentally hit the switch to dwindle down the window. “Fuck!” he writhed, thrusting his hip up spurting hard in your mouth.
“Yo, Casanova! Your windows are down!” The driver on the other side shouted.
His eyes widened, still sporadically shuddering from his high. “Shit!” He quickly pushed the button to raise his windows while his other hand pulled his pants and boxers up (at the least he managed to put his boxers up while in hurry, now 80% covering his ass) only it was too late.
Resisting to swallow his cum, you began to pull yourself up from your seat and look for a tissue stashed somewhere inside your bag. Upon seeing your head pop from below though, it didn’t take long for the other driver to discern what just happened.
“Nasty” was the last thing Yoongi heard from the grinning stranger before he finally put his window back up. Now completely shielded from his embarrassment.
Just then the traffic light turned red to green. Yoongi quickly hit the gas. Staying in this traffic was definitely the last thing he wanted to be in. He then thoughtfully swore to be mindful of his surroundings next time when another opportunity like this came, or maybe he would never (It’s too soon to decide)
But one thing is for sure, he swore he can never drive and see this road the same way ever again. Thanks to you.

A lilac lacy bra resting on his lampshade, matched silken panty hanging on the side of his headboard, black pants stuck in the middle of his bedroom door, an empty packet of condom on the edge of the bed, and his brief dangling, which managed somehow to reach on top his his TV.
Sitting with his legs crossed, his back resting on a pile of pillows with his hands supporting your weight. He happily watched you grind on him with great effort for a full whole blown minute. “Y/N” humming your name, in between his grunt.
“Yoongi” you recited his name in return like litany, hands gripping on his bare shoulders as you tossed your head back in trance.
“Fuck…” he began to propel his hips against you, meeting your every movement. One of his hands sneaked its way to your breasts cupping each and kneading it gently.
“Yoongi” you repeated, calling his name, spreading your legs wider to find your balance and continuing to roll your hips in synchrony with his. For a moment, the sound of slapping skin was all you could hear until it syncopated by his heavy breathing. He pushed himself close to you, hands now reaching towards your clit. Stroking and flicking it concurrently in full earnest.
His head suddenly fell on to your shoulder, his gasp becoming audibly clear sending you into utter frenzy. In response, you pulled yourself back and began nibbling his ear, light and soft. He moaned. Yes, the kind that reverberates, delivering you to the edge. Thus reaching your high.
He snickered after hearing you whimper “For someone who initiated everything, I honestly thought you could last. I didn’t know just the sound of me moaning can send you to peak?”
With your mouth still open, you grimaced at his snide remark “Lie down, why don’t you? Let’s see if I can take you with me?”
“No need to, I’ll come any time soon” he tilts his head to the side and kisses you, simultaneously thrusting in haste. His sudden reflex jolts you in another course of delirium. As his movements became erratic, you held on tight to his shoulders taking it as a cue to give each other one final push to reach both your climax.
“Y/N…” He gagged as he squinted his eyes hard. Together, you both curse at the sensation, and deeply sighing together after hitting the zenith. You both lie down at the same time, panting. For a while it was silent, as if both of you were taking time to ponder on life in general like a hermit sage.
“…. Is this going to be a regular thing?” he suddenly asked, shifting on his bed to face the ceiling. Finally, he was asking the important question.
“Sure. You mean no strings attached right?” moving your body to face him.
He then pursed his lip to say something but quickly retracted. He figured he needed to ask it, so he just let it roll. A necessary query, he thought. “Is this going to be exclusive or….”
“Let’s not kid ourselves and make things easier for us, so no. Exclusive is quite foreign territory for me. Although I can still be monogamous, that is if you want it to… but don’t push okay? I can only go for a short period” you stretched your arm and rolled to the edge, taking the liberty to take his bottled water from the bedside table and drink.
“No, no, it’s okay. As long as we keep using protection, I guess that’s fine. We can see other people on the side, while we keep in touch? I think it’s a pretty fair deal…”
“It’s a good deal” you pointed out as he nodded in agreement.
“But what if one of us isn’t up for it any longer? Do we tell or do we not tell? Because honestly I’ll hope you’d pick the forme-- ”
Latter” you quickly replied before he finished the word ‘Former’
He chuckled, and shook his head in disbelief with your reply.
“Fine, I can adjust. I totally understand that this isn’t just about me, so in all fairness, I’ll agree to your demands. But you have to agree with mine”
“That is?” He sat back up and pulled out his soiled condom, knotted it first before throwing it in the trash bin.
“Give me your number” you opened your palm to his direction
“Well, I thought you’d never ask” he picked up his cellphone he left from the edge of his bed, while you combed down on the floor to find yours. You two then exchange phones and enter each other’s number, and return it back. “That was easy” he raised one eyebrow smirking at you.
“With that, we can um… reach each other wherever, whenever” you pressed your lips together and gave him a smile.
He nodded “Sure, but only if you wanted”
“Only if you wanted it too” you replied, cordially mimicking his head.
“Everything sound’s good to me” he shrugged “So, Deal?” he stuck his hand out to you and you took it. “Deal” you both shook it, sealing the agreement.

Seesaw. It is one of your favorite playground activities. You enjoy the momentary high and the unpredictability of being dropped down. Although more than anything, you adore the power play. You get the euphoria from being intrigued, guessing each time who gets to take the upper hand.
You love taking predictions, you love calculating, but above all you love to wager. You wanted a brief scare from losing, only to shift the leverage to your favor. For you, Seesaw is a game of dominance. And in the game of dominance, of course you like to be the one in control.
Even when you were little you were so engrossed at that thought, obsessing to declare yourself to be the winner. You were so competitive, that it made you fall on a sandbox one time, when you were playing with your next-door neighbor, Hee-joon.
Seeing from afar, your father quickly ran to you and held you close for comfort. Although when he was dressing your bruises, you remember vividly how he warns you not to cry in front of boys, because little boys always relish seeing a weak girl cry. You always have to emerge as the victor at all times. Hence, you never did. Even now as an adult. You fight back, you always do.
That’s why Hee-joon grew up hating you, because the last time you two played Seesaw again, you managed to put him up above and watched him revel in the air. Until he realized you refused to put him back down, not until he cried. You watched him weep and plead above you. Only then you decided to put him down when his mother came. To say the least, your mother was upset with your action, but your father felt proud.
Seesaw is the game that taught you how to take the highs and lows, but more than anything, it taught you how to be the one in supreme.
Every time you deal with men, you remember every word your father told you. As such, when you reached the epiphany that love is nothing but just an illusion, you decided to take things to the sheets instead. You’d rather be engulfed with pleasure rather than unnecessary emotions under the guise of romance.
And yet, somehow deep within you, you were too scared to admit the rationale why you vehemently refuse to lose. Because at the time when you fell and your father ran to you, you saw it in his eyes. He was looking at you, fearful to see someone he loves dearly be in so much pain. He was terrified to let you know how far the depths of a wound can go, until you can no longer feel… and you’re afraid to know it too.
It is the precise reason why, right now, you are watching Yoongi cover his face on a Sunday morning. Leading him to his high, watching him revel in absolute bliss, under him… literally. Yoongi pleaded for you to stop giving him another god-tier head, and let him breathe easy, before you could deliver him any further to his overdrive. While you indeed followed his plea by halting, you decided to tease him a little by pulling yourself up from the covers and went on top of him. You took his wrist and pressed his palms against your bare chest.
“Wait” he paused as he sat up and furtively looked for a condom in his drawer. “Thank God, we still have one last…” he pulled out the shiny foil packet. You took it from his hand and helped him put the rubber on.
And just like that, Yoongi again was on a roll. For the past few weeks, neither of you resisted sex. Monday night? On your couch. Wednesday? On his kitchen counter. Friday after work? Inside his car on a dark alleyway. Saturday night? Inside his shower. Now Sunday, back on his bed.
Sex with Yoongi is great, but you already expect that.
But just like a play of Seesaw, you know that this kind of arrangement will definitely have some highs and lows. You know that one day, you and Yoongi’s sex drive will decline, frequent calls will become rare, until it’s gone. So, keep them coming right? Not that you are worried, but really what is there to lose? Especially if the sex is good and you two are on an equilibrium, like that in the game.
Well, not until Friday.

“Hey, good work!” someone tapped your shoulder lightly after closing the meeting room, you turned around to see who it was.
“Oh, Hoseok. Thanks!” you grinned, happy to see one of your best friends attend your team’s presentation for a Cereal Company. You’ve known Hoseok since college, and even worked with him on your first job. Even if both of you left and went to a different company now, you two still find time to catch up. It just so happens that you two are now working on the same project.
Dipping your head a little low, you whispered to his direction “I was genuinely surprised to know you work for this company, I thought you hated their cereals?”
“Unfortunately, beggars can’t choose” he replied softly as you nodded in agreement, while walking with him on the office hallway towards the elevator lobby “Great to know they promoted you as the Event’s Manager huh?”
“As long as they pay me well, I can manage whatever shit the world throws at me,” you said, twitching your lip to the side and shrugging, making Hoseok hysterical.
“Cheers to being a slave for money”
“Cheers” you both tossed an imaginary goblet from each of your hands when suddenly, you heard your phone buzzing, so did his. Both of you stopped from the elevator lobby to read the message. You rolled your eyes “Seems your boss and my boss are going to announce their engagement?”
He chuckled, “I’m pretty sure they’re straight, Y/N. But I can’t come to this ‘Night After-Work Drink’…” he put his phone back in his pocket after reading it.
“Aw, C’mon it’s going to be the weekend tomorrow! Plus, I’m going to introduce you to my colleagues, we’ll have fun! Just come, let’s go Hoseok! Don’t leave me alone, please?” you whined before him, trying your hardest to convince one of your closest friends to come by using your pleading charm.
Hoseok just stared at you and breathed.
“Why? Have you not forgiven me for that time I accidentally left my hairbrush on your car and your ex thought you were cheating on her? Hence, leaving me now on my own to suffer?”
You stepped forward to face Hoseok before he could enter the elevator with you.
He rolls his eyes “Still dramatic as always. I told you, that’s been long forgotten. Besides, I am dating someone new”
“Oh” you said inaudibly, finding Hoseok slightly displeased with your overly critical reaction.
“Hey, I know that face!” he narrowed his eyes while expressing his distaste to see your silent retort “And no, I have no plans in introducing you to her… Yet! Not until we’ve established whatever we are” he continued while pressing the elevator to the ground floor.
“Hm, still sounds trouble to me”
“We’ve only known each other for a week, Y/N. Give her some slack.”
“Then why are you cancelling extra working hours? When can you drink to your heart's content, hm? Beer will taste good, especially if you’re not the one paying” you bobbed your brows and smug “Just admit it Hoseok, she got you wrapped around her fingers. I told you, you can’t do this on a regular. Women like a little chase…”
“First of all, we’re not paid to kiss ass. Second, you also hated the idea of having to go there too and third, she’s not like you…”
You opened your mouth, clearly taken aback to hear his remark. Hoseok quickly clarified “I meant to say, you’re frighteningly the almost perfect girl…but she’s not the fooling type.”
“That’s what we all say, that’s what we all want you to believe Hoseok...” You retort incredulously “it’s better be uncompromising forthright than give you false hope. Go choose!”
Hoseok sighed deeply “Look, one day you are going to meet someone who will probably prove to you that not all men are shit.” he said while crossing his arms and stared at you, admonishingly.
“I already did. I have you” you pouted. The elevator stopped as Hoseok waited for you to step out first then followed.
“Besides me” leading you now to his car in the parking lot. His eyes flickered as he remembered something… or someone “Know what? there’s Seokjin-hyung”
“Oh, you mean Seokjin the half-god from the Film Department, in our Uni? Seokjin is infinitely out of question. Have you seen his latest drama on TV? Park Bo-gum even sent a coffee truck to congratulate him” You sighed resentfully.
“How’d you know?”
“Instagram. Okay don’t judge”
Hoseok chuckled, stopping at his car to turn it open with his car keys “I clearly am doing it right now”
“Technically, he is untouchable. You’ve seen how the girls reacted then when they saw me and him together on a couch? When we were literally just talking about Chinese Philosophy class during that frat party. And like some teen-romcom movie, rumors started to fly the next day and they multiplied by the hour” You opened the door to his passenger seat and secured yourself with a seatbelt.
“Easy A. It’s Easy A.” He stressed as he entered and adjusted the side mirror’s on the driver’s seat .
“The difference between you and Seokjin are that we’re friends… and he and I just happened to be in one class”
He starts the engine of his car, offering to drive you all the way to the bar where your team is having this week’s celebration “My point is… theoretically speaking, that there are men who are as nice, like he is. Plus, he knows those nasty rumors weren’t true. Won’t you forgive those girls?”
“They’re basically my creators? Shouldn’t this present slut thank them instead?”
“You and I both know you were once a college prude, and you never slept with any of those rumored men… Seokjin-hyung knows the truth. Even if he was conscripted to the list, unlike other men who took advantage of that, he fervently denied”
“Because that’s the truth. We never slept, Hoseok. Above every one, you know I didn’t have the guts. Wow, I am still not sure whether to feel offended or happy about it. Am I not worth it?”
“Y/N, seriously? Seokjin’s a true gentleman, that’s it. That’s the tea. I can even swear he was into you that time, until her groupies held an emergency meeting to evilly conspire against you… I’m actually glad they’ve been dealt with. This is why we can’t have nice things”
“Hoseok, okay, granted that he and I ended up dating each other back then… It is still going to fail because lov-- ”
He started to turn on the radio, loudly “What? I can’t hear you! Know what? Have a talk with your pessimism when you get to the bar. Here, I’ll even give you extra money so you could offer it a few more drinks” he pulled a few coins from his pocket and handed it over to you.
You chuckled, batting your eyes to his direction “Aw, ever the romantic Hoseok. Well, keep them I’ll collect it soon enough”
“She is going to be great, Y/N. Don’t jinx it!”
--
“Fuck capitalism!” your boss shouted.
“Fuck capitalism!” you all repeated and shouted it while drinking another shot all together.
“Y/N! Lara! Do that soju bomb thing together!” Your boss suddenly made his way to sourpuss the night by ordering you two to do a party trick which is gravely against your will.
Lara gave you a look and you just shrugged, telepathically and ironically accepting defeat from capitalism itself, by giving in at your boss’s request. You two were compelled to act normal as if nothing happened. Honestly, no one really needs to know about you, her, and canker Joe. As a matter of fact, you don’t want anyone to know that you tried to sleep with canker Joe from your office. Besides, didn’t Lara hide the fact that he was seeing Joe too? Maybe she was too embarrassed about him as well. Regardless, he is definitely a thing in the past and should be kept inside a box, six-feet underground for good.
“Hey!” Lara plastered a smile and handed you the glasses, as usual, to prepare both your famous tricks.
“Hey, hey!” you faked cheered as well as you helped her open more beers to spray on each glass, half filling the glass. Lara then filled each shot glass with a fair amount of soju, while you meticulously placed them strategically close so by the time you shove one, the other shot glass would follow like dominoes (dropping to beer glass like a bomb).
This never fails to amaze your boss for some reason, to see you two do it each time, much to you and Lara’s chagrin. Truthfully, if you’re being asked, you two would wish you weren’t forced to entertain anyone outside office just to have a favorable treatment by the day.
“Y/N” your boss called as he pulled out a newly opened bottle of soju to your direction, handing out your glass politely to him as a reflex. “You really did a great job with your presentation; I really like it! Don’t be too shy alright? You deserve to celebrate!”
“Thank you, sir,” you turned away from his direction and downed the alcohol in one go, respectfully showing everyone on the table that you’ve accepted the harsh reality of the need to kiss ass so you could get cash.
“Too bad, Hoseok’s not here. He’ll probably have fun” Hoseok’s boss, who joined your team, commented while watching you have another at your boss’s behest. You nodded to his direction, to feign agreement. Considering the amount of alcohol he could bear in a single night, of course not, he definitely would not have fun.
“Y/N” someone murmured on the table, after your boss moved his attention to the recently hired employees. You turned around and saw Lara staring at you “Y/N” she repeated.
“Yeah?” you raised an eyebrow clearly befuddled to hear her and have your attention.
“I know you can’t handle alcohol well, just gently decline next time he offers. He has more people to oppress now” she lowered herself so you could hear her clearer and puck her lips subtly to point at the poor new recruits.
“Oh, I thought you said you didn’t want to be friends with a slut like me? Are we also going to pretend I didn’t hear that too?” you whispered back
“Whatever, just don’t come hurling at everybody and then throw up”
“I’ll keep that in mind. Thank you”
She was right. She’s always right. By the time you downed an nth shot of soju or whatever it is they gave you (and add that fancy cocktail you wanted to try on their menu) your surroundings gradually revolve and appeared hazy. Somehow, you decided to take drunken shots of the bar and record random moments for you to post something on your social media account. Nothing too wild or nasty, just enough to flash for your friends online that you were having a great time on another Friday night.
“Y/N, is it okay if you come with me to the restroom and help with something?” Lara asked distinctly from her seat, loud enough to hear your superiors to cut you lose from drinking.
You nodded submissively, plopping down from the stool and followed Lara. By the time you two arrived at the girl’s restroom you quickly went into the nearest cubicle and threw yourself against the toilet and vomited.
“I told you so, even Hannah Montana can’t get the best of both worlds. Y/N, stop acting tough.” She crouched down and held your hair up while patting your back.
“I’m feeling fantastic Lara!” you deadpan reply while wiping your mouth with the back of your hand.
“Okay, you are welcome” she rolled her eyes while burrowing something from your bag, then you heard something thud. Suddenly everything went blank.
--
The smell of musk, leather and a little bit of smoke. The feeling of the heat of a skin nudging on your nose. Your hands pressed against someone else’s chest, and the air breezing under the soles of your feet, as if you were levitating. You blinked your eyes twice and opened it wide from your stupor… finding yourself in the middle of the busy street of Itaewon.
You shook your head a little and realized you were resting on someone’s back. “Don’t move too much, you are starting to get heavy?” said someone in a timbre filled with objection.
You knew that voice, and you knew that scent too well too “Yoongi?” you asked weakly.
“Are you gonna throw up? Just tell me…”
“Yoongi, why are you…” you shook your head, that wasn’t the right question “Why are we here?”
“You butt-dialled me, it’s been so long since you called so I thought you’d invite me over but I only heard random noises then it ended… Until you began sending me weird pictures in the dark. So, I was kind of worried and called… But it was your officemate who answered and just told me to come pick you up”
“My what?” you asked, trying to process everything you heard.
“Know what? You’re too drunk to have this conversation and so I’m just going to take you home. Don’t move too much, you are slipping” he paused for a moment while he jerked to keep him adjusted to the weight that he is carrying. “Cutie from the 18th floor huh?” you heard him snickered as he asked.
“You saw my phone?”
“No, your officemate told me. Actually she asked me if I was ‘Cutie from the 18th floor?’ She apologized instantly because she didn’t know how to address me when I came to the bar to pick you up”
“Okay, that’s it. Put me down!” you tried to shimmy your body away from him
“Are you sure about that? She took your shoes from you; said she’ll leave it on your desk tomorrow”
“God…Must be Lara…”
“Is she the best friend you told me about before?”
“Yeah…”
“She’s worried about you”
“Mmm. Right.” You shut your eyes from the blinding neon lights passing from your sight.
“…Hold on to me tight” he reminded, as you reluctantly wrapped your arms around him while he trudged with you on his back.
In clear disorientation, right in the midst of the crowd, you wonder—why above all things, he is carrying you home without any question. Slowly, you closed your eyes and sighed while clutching on his chest a little bit tighter. You rest your head again on his shoulder, burrowing your nose on the fabric of his shirt. (Not to be weird, but if someone demanded what you’re doing at a gun point you wouldn’t think twice confessing that he genuinely smells so good, and that’s the whole reason) Somehow, whatever this was, it made you feel at ease.
And he wasn’t complaining.
--
“Y/N…Y/N” Yoongi rouse you from your mini-slumber “We’re here, we’re at your front door” He gently put you down on the floor and help you stand upright, waiting for you to enter your apartment so he could drop you home with his conscience at peace.
You crouched down and narrowed your eyes while pressing on the numbers on your door lock, offering it with great effort.
‘Access Denied’ it buzzed.
“Shit!” cursing on your poor concentration to get it right.
Yoongi sighed “Whisper me the number code, and I’ll do it for you”
“What? And enter any time while I’m sleeping?” you replied while unnecessarily glaring at him.
“Okay, that’s it… I can leave you here or you can stay at my place…” he put his waist on each side of his waist, like an old lady giving you an ultimatum.
“Fine... it’s wait…” You pointed a finger to Yoongi and pulled out your phone, pressing down the number sequence on the screen but in full labor. Yoongi, who was losing the endmost ounce of his patience, finally pulled you up to drag you back to the elevator lobby of your floor.
“Okay, okay, it’s 5991!” you spoke harshly, demanding him to put you down. Yoongi quickly turned around, to see if anyone heard. Fortunately, no one was around your hallway to hear you blurt your code so casually. He then swiftly pressed the numbers and opened your door and pulled you in.
“Oh! I forgot my RFID is on my wallet” you raised your hand belatedly after being dragged by Yoongi inside your apartment “Wait, what? You could’ve told me this earlier!” he groaned in utmost frustration, while helping pull your blazer off and beginning to question his choices in life.
“Yoongi” you grin at him with your eyes barely open “it’s been a while yeah? I miss your cock! Let’s have sex!” you squeaked quite happily. He then dropped you pretty harshly on the bed, not that you mind since you were too inebriated to care. “Mmm. Are you into rough play tonight Mr. Hit-song Producer, sir?” You reached for him, tracing your fingers against his shirt.
“I’m not…” he replied directly, rejecting your advances while he turned away from you busily searching for something. “… unfortunately for you miss, I don’t get turned on with drunken girls on the bed. Scurry over and try to seat on your back on the head board”
Obediently, you followed his demands despite not making sense, or at least because you are too drunk to comprehend anything. You shut your eyes waiting for him to do something to you until you felt something damp on your face “Yoongi?” you slowly opened your eyes.
“I am taking the liberty…Close your eyes” he asked sternly. It was beginning to make sense now.
“Are you helping me clean up?” you asked, feeling him gently brush your eyes with a damp facial cotton. “How’d you know which one is a makeup remover?”
“I’m not dumb, Y/N. I can read” he adjusted himself to mildly take your mascara off you. Flustered, you begin to turn your head slightly away from him. As if in a snap, the effect of alcohol was beginning to wane. Just because of the thought that Yoongi was doing things for you that you never expected. “Y/N, look I’m trying!” he clicked his tongue by pressing his thumb and index finger on your chin, securing you steadily “I heard, it’s not good to sleep with a makeup on… there’s a good chance you’ll turn blind from bacteria build-up if this is left unclean for hours”
“Says, who?” trying to dissipate the towering feeling of being embarrassed. “Your ex?”
“No, the idols I get to work with who came in late. They were trying to justify their tardiness because of their face after a night of drinking. Honestly, who cares? They have a lot of fans who love them”
“It’s a girl thing, you’ll never understand”
Smoothing another batch of damp cotton on your cheeks, he finished the conversation by telling you “Well, I do. You are pretty even without it…” he said while dabbing one last time on the side of your lips until you felt his thumb pressed on the edge of your lips.
Yoongi froze, did he just? He started to wonder. You slowly opened your eyes to see his face close to yours, just a few inches away from each other's lips. He cleared his throat and immediately shifted himself away from you again, keeping distance. “Good night, Y/N”
You watched him turn his back and dimmed the lights off your room, leaving only with a soft glimmer from your bedside lamp. Feeling stunned at the chain of events, you cowered down to see your clothes still on and your chest beating heavily. You jerked and shook your head reminding yourself that ‘No, we refuse to be your victim, Yoongi’. Then you felt it, clearly your body is still jaded, realizing on its own that you still had too much alcohol in your system. So, you tried to hurry over to your bathroom, only to find your face falling flat on the floor.
Gratefully, Yoongi hasn’t completely left you yet. When he heard, he abruptly went to check on you in your room. “Just how many have you had?” he helped you up and hiked you over to the toilet. You immediately hurled yourself to it and threw whatever you had in you. He groaned mournfully, while patting your back. He knew the answer to his queries, he’s going to need to stay by your place for the night.
And he did, but on your couch. He thought, it would be awkward to be placing himself beside you on your bed if you two are not having sex. Thankfully, your couch had enough space for him to lie down, yet he couldn’t seem to find his sleep. Not when he began questioning himself as to why you had him worried for the night, he shifts to the side staring blankly on your ceiling deeply sighing at the thought. He wished he knew.
--
The sound of fizzle, the touch of your dried lips, and the scent of butter, emanating from the kitchen towards your room. All of those, woke your senses. You looked at your phone and find it’s 7am on Saturday. Normally, Hoseok would gladly walk into your apartment to send you over hung-over foods, but guessing at the fact that he’d be with a lady friend you assumed he’d be unavailable for you in a time of need…. And cooking? Hoseok cooking? For the longest time you two had been together as friends, he never once attempted to put himself in the kitchen. So what changes?
You took your satin robe and swiftly wrapped it around to see who it was in your kitchen. You ran out of your room with a pillow on your hand and shrieked at the familiar figure. It was Yoongi cooking in your kitchen
He pulled out his airpods and asked “What, were you calling me?”
“No, I just… I didn’t expect you’d still... be here…Are you cooking?”
“Um, yeah, why are you always asking the obvious?” he knitted his brows, eyes darting from left to right, perplexed to even answer your query. “Look, why don’t you sit down and let Chef Min do the cooking for today”
You silently sat on your island stool and watched him prepare food. “Is this what you do to everyone you sleep with?”
He stifled a smile and pursed his lips to think. “I wish I did. Unfortunately, no. Just you, for now”
You folded your arm and poked your tongue from the inside of your cheek “Well you can’t do this…”
“Huh?” He asked with his back to you, busily chopping more onions and garlic then mixing it to the cooking pan.
“Rules.”
“Rules? What part of the agreement is cooking prohibited? If my memory serves me right, you failed to mention it, so I guess this is pretty legal”
“Okay, fair point. Then why are you doing this? On my apartment, on my kitchen, on my food? Is it all for me?”
Yoongi was taken aback, but he needed to answer promptly “What, you think I’m starting to like you more than a neighbor… with benefits?” he scoffed “Such confidence, woman” he turned around to snicker, playfully flailing his arm with a cooking chopstick on hand.
“I’m sorry but I can’t help it” you merrily bemoan in retrospect and shrugged. “Didn’t you say you’ve always fancied me?”
“Naked, I fancied you naked” he corrected.
“I don’t know, sounds the same to me” You watched him perfectly toss the food while cooking, like a pro. “Hmm, impressive. Are you trying to make me weak on my knees?”
“Well, are you?” he asked stoically, as he turned the stove off and finally served you a hung-over breakfast he made out from the ingredients available in your refrigerator.
“Almost, but not quite” you playfully bite your lip, fretfully eating your smile.
“You’re welcome for the breakfast Y/N” he winked, putting his share on a plate and sat on a stool right in front of you.
“Thank you, Chef Min Yoongi” you ducked your head, to tamper down whatever you were feeling in the morning. You weren’t a prayerful person but today you decided to whisper one from your seat. You needed it, a whole of it, before chowing down your freshly cooked food made by the Chef himself in front of you. Testing you by the minute.
He watched you while you shut your eyes and chant something inaudibly, and without you knowing-- he smiled.
--
“Min PD nim?” one of the staff knocked on his door. Yoongi, as usual, was busy listening to the tracks he made from last week now that it is back to being Monday again.
“Han Young-woo-ssi said he wanted to talk to you sir…”
“Oh, what about?” He abruptly stopped and turned to face her.
“It sounded like it’s a personal matter sir… so I didn’t ask him any further. He is waiting outside your office sir, would you like me to tell him to come back after lunch?”
He shook his head “No-no, it’s fine. I am a little bit stressed too, I was just looking for the right lyrics to the melody but maybe talking to him might help” he went out from his seat and decided to see his visitor from the same company but in the Accounting department. Was it about his demands against the company for paying for his daily coffee needs? Or was it about denying his request to fund him for another set stereos?
“Yoongi! My friend!” Young-woo delightedly extends his arm to give him a quick hug and pat on his back.
“Hey Han!” he sat on the couch and Young-woo followed, sitting on a chair adjacent to Yoongi.
“What brings you here?”
“Well, I saw you last Saturday night in the streets of Itaewon”
He chuckled “Yeah, I decided to do some carrying as part of my daily workout routine”
Young-woo nods solemnly “I know the person you were carrying. She’s bad news…”
He furrowed his eyebrows, pausing for a moment to comprehend the sudden change of his tone.
“I knew her from college, she’s been sleeping with a lot of men... maybe until now. Just avoid her if you can. She might give you STDs or something… Just stop Yoongi. I don’t know if it’s because she slept with Seokjin? Which probably made her impertinently bold and decides to slut around”
Yoongi thwarted him from finishing his sentence. “Seokjin? You mean Kim Seokjin?”
“Yes, your high school best friend and my frat brother, Seokjin. Did he never tell you about her?”
“He mentioned a few girls, but I don’t remember her being mentioned at all.”
“Well, I guess it’s because she’s not worth mentioning”
Yoongi pressed his fingers on his temple “Do you really see girls that way, Young-woo?”
Young-woo was left fazed at his question “I-Uh…”
“Cut to the chase Young-woo, I have a lot of things on my table. It’s not my cup of tea to entertain sexist conversation especially during working hours…”
“I’m just warning you. As friend, that’s it”
“Well, if that’s all there is” He stood up and tilted his head, locking his gaze against Young-woo fervently “I’m an adult who knows exactly what I’m doing. It’s none of your business who I want to deal with day and night, unless it’s about work. I appreciate you being worried and all, but clearly at the end of the day I’ll be responsible with who and when I’ll be fucked and who gets to fuck me over.”
Young-woo conceded and sighs from his seat “I love your tenacity, my friend. But she is different from the girls you used to date, especially your ex” he stood up and walked towards the hallway
Yoongi just nodded. “Okay, but that’s the whole point, isn’t it? Past remains in the past. Live in the present brother, worry about your future... not mine. Well there goes the exit door, if that’s really all you have to say to me. I don’t like entertaining sexism as a visitor” he points him through the exit door as he watches Young-woo leave.
He rolled his eyes, regretting the fact that he gave Young-woo his precious time so conveniently, just to listen to a back story he was clearly uninterested in. What’s the point really? If everyone is living now in the present, what’s there to huddle over in the past? One thing’s for sure, he’s going to spend a few more minutes at the receiving area to look at his phone and find some inspiration over his social media.
Randomly scrolling, he ended up in Seokjin’s profile, entertaining himself with his random pictures with witty captions, illustrations of cute alpacas and his daily dad jokes on his Instagram stories. His eyes suddenly widened when he shifted it to the next photograph and saw a familiar face from Seokjin’s story.
“Was it true?” he breathed.
--
“Yeah, that sounds about right, I assure you Madame Song. Tomorrow is going to be epic” you nodded.
“I’m looking forward to it Ms. Y/N” she giggled, standing up from her seat, ready to leave.
You did the same and bowed before your client, displaying your gratitude and respect. You took a quick glance from the window beside the seat and saw the sun glaring hard on the pavement “Are you sure, is it really okay if you leave right now? Didn’t you say you just had your facial? The sun is pretty hard. Do you at least have an umbrella?”
“Oh, do you? Sorry I forgot mine, can I borrow? I promise to return it to you tomorrow” she asked a bit warily. Of course, they never do.
“Sure” you pulled out your foldable umbrella from your bag and handed it to her.
“Thanks dear. Oh, if you must, bring your plus one” she winked.
You dropped your head and chuckled “C’mon Madame Song, you know I don’t do plus one. I’ll ask Lara to cover that for me instead”
She paused. Her attention was momentarily stolen by something, or someone in front of the cafe window “Well, why don’t you go ask him?” she puckered her lips and pointed out towards the man entering inside the café from its door way.
“What?” you chuckled in disbelief “I can’t just go ask a random stranger and tell-- ” you turned around to see who she was referring to, until you stopped mid-sentence choking on your words.
A man in black shirt, black leather jacket, and a black baseball cap? It must be….
“Seokjin?”
He turned around to see who was calling him “Y/N?” He raised both his brows in genuine surprise.
“Mm...Seems, everything’s pretty planned out now don’t you think?” Madame Song whispered to you close before leaving you on your own. Grinning from ear to ear, knowing she made a lucky guess to find you a prospect date, who isn’t after all a stranger.
“Hey, it’s been so long! It’s nice to see you here!”
“Must be cupid’s work, huh?” Madame Song winked at you both as she left the cafe with your umbrella. You shook your head a little, embarrassed to hear her tease. Then faced the half-god handsome man before you.
You sat back on your chair and offered Seokjin the vacant seat on the front.
“Hm, I honestly don’t know what to say to that, are you working? Was she a client?” he watched you write something down on your planner for a moment.
“Yeah, and we just finished” you clicked the pen and threw your arms up to stretch “and now I can relax. What’s up Kim?”
“Ikseon-dong is where I usually take my walk for coffee and look for inspiration.I like it here, it’s traditional and yet still a very relevant place” he turned around to look at the menu board, attached above on the counter.
“Ah, I see you’re working too…” you nodded. “You know their dirty chai latte is pretty good.” You pointed it out. “So, how’s your agency treating you? I’ve seen you in TDN channel the other night, and got to the scene where you were crying after being left by Park Shin Hye… that was pretty moving”
He laughed with his eyes wrinkling, charming as always. “It was hard convincing myself to cry over a fictional argument revolving over me leaving a Peanut Butter open for long...”
“In her defense, she thought you were cheating on her over Yoon Eun Hye. But before replying to that, tell me who you will end up with, is it her or Yoon Eun Hye? Because if you asked me Yoon Eun Hye might be evil, but I totally understand where she's coming from. So yeah, I’m Team Yoon Eun Hye all the way!” You lowered yourself on the table and leaned towards him.
He squints his eyes and went forward “Not if you watch until the last episode, or you could bribe me with the most expensive thing on the menu”
You shot at him and sighed “Fine, you leave me no choice Mister Celebrity, sir. One Eggs Benedict and House Coffee, on me” he chuckled, knowing fully that those were the cheapest on the menu.
“It’s nice to know you didn’t change at all, Y/N” he gulped and smiled at you.
“Oh yeah? Don’t be disappointed if you found it to be untrue.” You stood up and ordered something for your old flame, well almost… or so you would like to think, if it wasn’t for his groupies who extinguished before it even began.
You two tried to catch on a lot of things, while taking a few photos together. Seokjin has an insane amount of following, compared to the number he had back in college (but was still considerably huge). Yet he wasn’t bothered at all, he still posted whatever he pleased.
Although he was now hyper-aware of everything online, especially the fact that some things might get him in trouble or even getting others into trouble. He made sure to explain things about what was happening in his caption before posting anything. Just to spare them from unnecessary and unfounded hate from his fans.
“Fancy bumping to a college friend *insert smiley emoji*” he said out loud while mindlessly typing it as he hit the post button.
“Why didn’t you put a sticker on my face?”
“Why should I? I already spare you from being tagged. That way, you can still keep your identity hidden, but this face?” He pouts “Too pretty to be kept away”
You blushed, abruptly shaking your head ready to say something as your defense retorted “Is this your way to get in my pants, now that you’re some big shot?”
He folds his arms and twitches his lips to the corner “You thought so lowly of me, I could’ve dated you. Should’ve asked you out 11 years ago, but I didn’t because I was afraid you’d get in to trouble because of me… yet, still you did”
You paused for a moment. “Seokjin. I—”
He batted his eyes and smiled “That night at the frat party, I was about to ask you... but chickened out last minute. I should be the one saying sorry, Y/N. I wish I was there for you; I could only imagine what your college life might have been. How are you holding it?”
You croaked, left momentarily speechless at the sudden revelation that was gradually unfolding before you “I—I’m fine. Thanks to Hoseok, my life from there became bearable. I’m sure he’s the one who shut all the people who were spreading rumors, he just wouldn’t tell”
He nods. “What if he truly wasn’t? Like maybe, somebody other than Hoseok did it for you?”
“You?” you opened your mouth in disbelief.
“It’s the least I could do. Besides, I’m partly to blame '' His phone suddenly buzzed as he pointed a finger to excuse himself for a moment to receive it. “Hey baby, yeah. I’m just here in Ikseon-dong? I’m in “Flower Yard Cafe” Meet? Where?... Okay. I love you, see you in a bit”
You lump on your lips, suppressing a chuckle. For a moment you thought you had a chance with Mr. WorldWide Handsome himself, but man you were eons late. Certainly, there are many times you want to hurl yourself over him regardless if he actually wants you too.
You were then so close to not giving any more damn to the ladies who would build a fort to push any of his prospects away. Yet maybe that’s how the world works, maybe you don’t deserve all the nice things because that’s how you were designed to live your life… or maybe it’s how the world chastises you for choosing to live a life in debauchery. Either way, You and Seokjin will never happen. That’s pretty much engraved in your destiny, if that’s not obvious enough.
“I’m sorry I got to go, my girlfriend’s having a fit”
“Hm, maybe you should delete your post about us?”
“Girl, you think I’m doing this for you? I want to annoy the girls who shit on my chance with you…”
You laughed. “Hm. Openly flirting with me still? You are playing on dangerous water, sir… How about we try next life Kim, yeah?”
“Ofcourse, just don’t get swoon with my face alone when that happens.”
You nodded in between chuckles as you bid goodbye and watched him leave the cafe. You began fixing your things and putting everything on your handbag when suddenly you heard the sound of drizzle.
“Ugh, should’ve known! That blaring sun definitely looks like it’s gonna invite rain soon... I gave my umbrella to Mrs. Song!” you complained to no one, whining softly from your seat.
Not wanting to spend another hour inside, especially when you needed to send a few paperwork to your boss for a report, you decided to just throw yourselves over the harsh rain “Know what? Fuck it, let’s just run and get wet again” you pushed the door away from you, ready to run while holding on to your handbag that was barely covering your head.
As the door swiveled far, you began to notice that the rain that was supposed to be falling over your head wasn’t just…there. You turned around and found Yoongi. His arms extended to you, holding an umbrella for you. You watched him smile despite slightly getting showered.
“Yoongi?”
“Why are you always asking the obvious? Hey Y/N” He scooted over inside the umbrella, arms pressing and pulling you close to him. His free hand held on to the handle slightly tilted, making sure you remained dry than he is. You stood there, completely frozen. Too stunned to see him at a time when you needed someone.
“You certainly like to get wet often, huh?” he snickered, trying to diffuse the momentary silence.
“It depends on the situation… I-uh… what are you doing here?”
“I was just having a walk. The weather looks good” he subtly gulped, eating his lie. After seeing you on Seokjin’s instagram, he immediately called and asked where he was. Seokjin, knowing Yoongi fully for years, did not bother to ask any more questions as he simply answered where he is currently located.
“Oh yeah?” you tilt your head to look at the dark sky.
“Well, it was, until it suddenly started to rain. Where are you headed?”
“Back in my office, just a few blocks from here. You?”
“What a coincidence, I am too”
“You also work there?” you chuckled
He rolled his eyes and sighed “Okay you got me, just let me take you there unscathed. I’ll go back to strolling around the city  looking for inspiration for the song I am working on. But until then, I have to see you get there, so that I could put myself at ease knowing you went to your work completely dry.”
“Aw, that is so gentleman of you. You better credit me when you find that inspiration you were saying” you playfully teased, knowing fully well you’ll give zero contribution to his work.
He chuckled. Making you suck an air to see another gummy smile from him, which he is very frugal of him to do.
“Perhaps I will,” he shrugged, smiling weakly as he faced the street. You swiftly turn to face him, bewildered to see his sincere intent. Will he really? Thoughts were starting to run around your head.
Clearly, when was the last time you’ve been held by a man? Was it yesterday during sex with Jinyoung a fellow regular from the cafe next to your office? Or was it during a dodgeball game during 8th grade where Taecyeon, your crush pulled you away from getting hit by a ball? Or perhaps the time when your father took you in his arms when you got bruised? You could no longer remember, because right in the middle of the rain, underneath the transparent umbrella, you watched the rain fall while Yoongi was there holding you in his arms…and that was all you could think.
For the very first time, you felt safe and secured. It was warm and seemed full of ardent affection. You failed to put words into what you were feeling, because evidently you had nothing on it from your catalog for inner feelings. Yoongi remains to hold onto you close, while continuing to walk on the streets under the heavy rain... And you yielded unto him.
The feeling was so foreign and novel that you were starting to feel scared. You are so afraid of the feeling of this unfamiliarity, and perhaps the thought of it that it might one day become … too familiar.
Suddenly it dawned on you, in this seemingly game of feelings like seesaw, he was now taking the leverage because you were starting to get your high.
And for the first time in years, you were unsure how this would turn out.

Much of your life changed after you and Sukuna worked together to forfeit his fingers. The two of you still owned the little white house where your family was created, but that was no longer where you resided. You both agreed to try to visit it at least once a year, but the house you were living in now made it much easier to adapt to domestic life. Or as domestic as one could get when you’re married to the king of curses. It was an adjustment but now it was just you, him, Kiseki and the female curse who’s been around almost since the start. It was a bit of an odd dynamic, but one that you wouldn’t trade for the world.
It was this very dynamic that probably led to your costume choice for this year, Morticia Addams. Since Kiseki had just started learning how to walk, he was still too young to take out for trick or treating. But you weren’t going to miss out on an opportunity to dress him up in a little costume, even if the two of you were just going to be handing out candy to the neighboring kids all night. You weren’t expecting to dress up at all, but while shopping for candy one day, you stumbled upon the cutest little Cousin Itt costume that was the perfect size for your precious one. It was hilariously cute and you were looking forward to the look on Sukuna’s face when he saw it. Considering how adverse he was to a simple brownie for Valentines day earlier this year, you figured this would push his buttons even more. And what was it that Morticia said? ‘Don’t torture yourself, Gomez. That’s my job.’ It was only fitting.
So you quickly snatched up the costume and a few extra bags of candy, the halloween spirit flowing through your veins. You spent the rest of the little free time you had that afternoon ordering the pieces you needed for your costume, and waited with much anticipation before the big day. You kept everything under wraps from Sukuna, wanting it to be a surprise. Aaand so there’s no time for him to force you to change the baby’s costume.
Hiding anything from Sukuna was usually next to impossible, but these days proved to be easier due to the condition he was in. He wouldn’t admit it, but his transition from his true form had taken a toll on him. Holding such immense power and cursed energy for as long as he did, it was no surprise that now that his 20 fingers had been casted away that he would be in a weakened state. But this was the king of curses you were talking about, and if kings were anything they were prideful. You weren’t there to personally witness it, but he described his transformation back to the form you met him in to be instantaneous but grueling. And for him to admit to any type of pain was quite the feat.
It had taken a lot of convincing on your part, but you had finally gotten Sukuna to stay on bedrest for longer than a few hours. It was nice of him to wait till after you were all unpacked and settled into the new house to get some rest, but during nearly the entire process of the move you were constantly worried about him overexerting himself. It pissed him off to see you pity him in any kind of way, and he was quick to squash your doubts by doing something rash like hauling you over his shoulder. He even threatened to throw you across the yard when you asked if you could carry a box for him. In front of your new neighbors.
For a little over a week now Sukuna has slept all through the night and most of the day, and was plagued with constant headaches. Him being cooped up in your shared bedroom all day did make it lonely around the house lately, but you knew it was only temporary. You had to remind yourself that there would be plenty of holidays you’ll share with him and your son.
On Halloween night, you were finishing up the last touches to your costume in the downstairs bathroom, hoping to not somehow tip off Sukuna by the smell of your long black wig or your blood red lipstick that something was up. The dress you ordered did technically fit, but you didn’t take into account your breast size when shopping, which varied due to breastfeeding. Even though it wasn’t that long ago, you still reminisced on the days when your boobs were your own and didn’t carry the responsibility of childcare with them. Nowadays they only ever felt sore, heavy, leaking or a combination of all three. You had fed Kiseki a few hours ago, but already you could tell that they were beginning to swell. But trick or treaters would be arriving any minute now and there was no way you were getting to let your stupid milkbags get in the way of your holiday spirit, no matter how much they popped out from the low cut of your slinky black dress.
Once everything was in place, you went out into the living room to fetch Kiseki, who stood like a perfect gentleman as your other curse companion gently brushing out the hairs to his costume. He made for the cutest little Cousin Itt, with sunglasses and a tiny hat to complete the look. You thanked the curse before offering your hand to your son to lead him upstairs where his father was. You wrapped your knuckles on the door before opening it and found your husband sitting up in bed, shirtless with his arms resting on either side of him. It freaked you out sometimes that he could actually sleep like that, but he soon opened his eyes when the door closed behind you. Kiseki followed your lead as you walked towards the bed, your back slightly hunched over to make up for the height difference. It caused some of your cleavage to spill from your dress, which you could see Sukuna ogling with a mostly blank expression. That wasn’t where you needed his focus to be, and you stood behind your son to bring the attention back to him.
“Show daddy your costume,” you said excitedly as you let go of his little hand. You stood close by in case he fell, but was surprised by how well balanced he was as he made uneven steps towards the bed. When he got close enough, Sukuna picked him up rather abruptly and held the boy by his pits at arms length, eyeing the costume with a hardened look.
“What is this abomination?” Sukuna said as he turned Kiseki from side to side as if examining a pet for dirt. The boy giggled as he kicked his feet above his fathers lap, ignorant to the question. It was a good thing no one’s taught him what ‘abomination’ meant yet.
“He’s supposed to be Cousin Itt. From the Addams family,” you finished that with two snaps of your finger tips, the reference completely lost on him. You were hoping to watch the movies with him before he’d seen the costume, but his condition made his already low tolerance for television basically nonexistent.
Setting the boy down on his lap, he looked you up and down before saying, “And why are you dressed like a whore?”
Your jaw dropped as you looked between him and the boy. With your hands balling into fists on either side, you said defensively, “Watch yourself. I’m dressed as Morticia Addams. She’s the mother of the family, for your information.”
His lips turned up at the corners, eyes traveling down as he said, “Hm, fitting I guess.”
Before you could say anything else, a small voice asked, “Whore?”
Both of the boy's parents' eyes widened, but wore completely different expressions. He sat on his dad's lap, completely oblivious as he looked between the two of you waiting for an answer. This really couldn’t have gone any worse, and lucky for Sukuna the doorbell rang before you could think of what to do. Scooping up the boy in your arms, you made your way out the room, but not before shooting Sukuna a death glare over your shoulder. As you made your way down the steps, your son tugged on a lock of your wig, looking up at you with the most innocent eyes as he said, “What’s a whore?”
“Let’s practice saying ‘trick or treat’, okay?” you said, giving him an animated grin to mask your mortification.
Luckily, the rest of the evening was going just as planned. Between visits from the trick or treaters, the three of you (as in you, Kiseki, and the female curse) were curled up on the couch watching classical kids halloween movies. Your biggest stress currently was trying to monitor your son’s candy intake since his costume allowed him to sneak it so easily. You’d find balled up wrappers falling from beneath the curtain of hair whenever he stood up to greet someone at the door. Still, you were having a blast. Nearly everyone who showed up at your doorstep raved about your son's costumes. You knew you were biased, but you felt that he was definitely the best dressed of the night.
This night served as good practice for his walking, but when it was getting later in the evening and the trick or treaters were dwindling down, there was a moment when he almost tripped on himself while trying to hand out candy. You immediately squatted down to wrap a protective arm around him, and placed the candy bowl down on the ground in front of the kids.
“You okay, buddy?” you asked your son, who’s covered head nodded beneath the costume. Addressing the people at the door, you said, “Go ahead and take as much as you want. That’s all we have left.”
“What do you say, kids?” came an adult male voice. As several tiny voices of ‘thank you!’ rang out, you looked up to meet the eyes of what you had to presume was the father of at least one of these kids. You gave him a friendly smile, the sounds of crinkling wrappers ringing out as the kids fought for the last pieces of candy left.
“Those are some cool costumes you got there,” the man said with a raise of his brow. It was topical, but came out kind of forced based on his tone and the sweat of his brow. Grabbing the now empty bowl, you stood up as the children started to walk past the man. You figured he would follow, but instead he stood rather stiffly with his hands in his pockets as he said, “You’re smart for choosing to stay in. My feet are killing me right now.”
“Oh, it’s just because the little man isn’t used to being on two feet yet. I’m sure I’ll be in your spot by next year,” you said, your arms wrapping around the bowl. His eyes shot down to it - or at least that’s where you thought they went- before meeting your eyes again.
Just when you were about to tell him goodnight, he said, “Yeah, I’m out here with my daughter and some of her friends and their parents. Maybe next year we could all be a trick or treat squad, y’know?”
“Uhm..”
You weren’t sure how to answer that. He seemed nice enough, but your motherly instincts wouldn’t allow you to trust your son around a stranger, no matter how harmless the offer was. You figured you could ask about his kid to steer the conversation elsewhere while also getting more insight on him, but just as you were about to speak, he quickly said, “Or m-maybe not. Sorry I asked, goodnight!”
The man stormed off your lawn, catching up with his group that were already half way down the block by now. Before you turned around, you could already sense the reason for the man’s sudden change in demeanor standing behind you.
Sukuna stood tall before you, red eyes nearly glowing in the dimly lit entryway as he kept watch of the man. Without looking back, you closed the door behind you to say, “Could you not scare the neighbors, please?”
He was about to say something, but looked to see Kiseki staring up at the both of you. Giving you a look that said ‘wait,’ he bent down to be at eye level with his son to say, “I don’t know what you’ve done with my boy, but he better be in his bed by the time I get there. Got it?”
One of his little arms shot out from the side to give a salute above the brim of his glasses before he hobbled away. You called out to him telling him he needs to brush his teeth extra well before bed, and luckily the female curse followed right behind him. As they both entered the bathroom down the hall, you turned your attention back to your husband, who was now standing directly in front of you. You’ve gotten used to his lack of personal space, but was still caught off guard when his hand circled your waist to press you close against him. Sneering down at you, he said, “I’m only scaring the ones that want to fuck my wife.”
Looking down the hall to check that the coast was clear, you gently knocked a hand against his chest as you said, “You’re being ridiculous, you know that?”
“Am I?” he asked, emphasizing his point by pulling you in closer so your breasts were squeezed up against him. You hadn’t realized till then how apparent they were by now, seeing as it's been hours since you last pumped. Sukuna’s lips grazed the high of your cheekbone as he said, “You’re the one who’s had their tits out for the whole neighborhood to see.”
“Not on purpose!” you said, flushing with embarrassment just thinking about how long you’ve looked like this.
“I’ll allow it this one time, but only because you look so fucking hot,” he said, his hips pressing into yours as the hand that was sitting low at your waist slid down to squeeze your ass.
“Sukuna..,” you said in a low, flustered tone just as you saw your son exit the bathroom. You pushed away from his embrace just in time to hear him say, “I’m going to put the pest to bed. I’ll meet you upstairs.”
In a haze from his words, your response came delayed when you said, “You mean our son?”
You only stood around for about a minute when Sukuna came through the door, shutting it behind him while never tearing his eyes off you. The two of you haven’t been too physical since the start of his recovery, so you were eager for whatever he was willing to offer. You knew flat out asking would cause him to throw another hissy fit, so instead you followed his lead as he gripped your upper arms tightly and pulled you into a kiss. It was rough and needy, and you had to grip onto his pecks to balance yourself from the dizzying feeling he was always able to pull from you. Leaning in closer to him, your fingers naturally grazed down his chest. You weren’t using any pressure, but somehow the feeling of your nails going down his nipples caused him to let out a sharp noise. You pulled back immediately to ask if he was okay, seeing smears of your red lipstick across his lips.
“I’m fine, it's just..,” Sukuna must’ve been so foreign to this feeling that even he couldn’t comprehend it, but soon he said, “I think I actually felt pain just now. Not a lot but… certainly more than I ever had before.”
You couldn’t hold back your worry then, and asked him a flurry of questions before he grabbed your wrists and said, “It wasn’t much. You certainly could never hurt me.”
You knew he was just joking it off, but he also seemed genuine. With a huff, you said, “Be careful what you say. I could take advantage of you in your weakened state.”
“You should,” he said with a fire in his eyes. It caught you off guard and you couldn’t help but to nervously ask, “Are you sure?”
“If I said it, then I’m sure,” he said in an irritated voice as his sharp teeth showed. He was being awfully short tempered for someone who was asking to be dominated, and you purse your lips as you gazed up at him through narrowed eyes.
“Fine. Lay down on the floor.”
You pushed off of his chest after that, knowing his eyes were trailing you as you walked to the opposite side of the room. You weren’t sure exactly what you had in mind, but busied yourself by searching the dresser drawer as Sukuna lowered himself to the ground. He has never outwardly asked you to play the dominant role before. It was something you silently anticipated even though it scared the hell out of you. Being bratty with him was easy, like a game you two could pick up on at any time. But being the one in control of such a force as Sukuna… It was admittedly enthralling and terrifying.
“If you’re trying to bore me to sleep, it’s working,” said a voice from somewhere behind you. You rolled your eyes just when your fingers landed on a small cardboard box tucked in the corner of the drawer. You had nearly forgotten you owned a box of matches. You bought them for the brief time period you didn’t own an electric lighter for your candles, and figured you’d keep them in case of a power outage. But now a darker idea was swimming through your head, and you quickly grabbed them and held it close to your middle.
“Lighting candles to set the mood? How cute,” Sukuna looked up at you with a raised brow, his hands tucked under his head.
“Not quite,” you said with a poorly hidden smirk. You grabbed a single match from the box and shut it, running the tip of the matchstick over the textured side. It made a small sound as it lit above your fingertips. Holding it up for dramatic effect, you said, “You have some apologizing to do.”
“For what?” he lifted his head, brows furrowed as he looked at your stern face. Rolling his eyes, he said, “How many times do I have to tell you, he’s not going to remember-”
He let out a sharp hiss in surprise when the tiny flame made contact with his bare abdomen. As he brushed it off himself, he looked up at you in mild bewilderment, more so for having the gall to go through with it. You wanted to feel guilty for what you had done, but the sly smirk that crept over his face told you that you didn’t need to be. Standing up a little straighter, you looked down at him from your chin as you said, “That’s not an apology.”
Sukuna casually picked up the match, which only left behind a faintly rosy mark that was healing itself quicker than it came. You watched as he put the still smoldering tip to his tongue before saying, “What are you gonna do about it? Burn me at the stake, witch?”
“That’s too good for you,” you said as you lit another match, already feeling the enthralling anticipation that hung in the air. You twisted it in your fingertips while saying, “But it’s tempting.”
“You’re getting so worked up over a word,” he said while tucking his hands back under his head, clearly making himself comfortable. As his hips momentarily raised in the air, you noticed the tent in his pants. You still practiced caution when you did it, but you couldn’t resist stepping in between his legs before bringing a foot down on his crotch. You ran it gently over his bulge as you gave him a heated look.
“What are you getting worked up over?”
He rolled his hips up to meet the flat of your foot. It took you slightly off balance and before you could think, he was pulling you down on top of him. The match you held simmered out on the floor beside him as your hand went over his chest. You were straddling his lap now, and with your dress riding up to your hips, you could feel his bulge pressing up against you. It was embarrassing how whipped you were for his cock, but you could already feel the heat forming in your core at the prospect of where things would go.
“I know you’re going easy on me,” he said, propping himself up on one arm as he wrapped the other around your waist, practically pushing his face into your chest. Smiling against your cleavage, he said, “If you’re gonna do something, at least make it count.”

Levi’s POV
Levi felt like a fish out of water. The bright lights, attendants too chirpy for his liking, multiple strangers running their grubby hands over the same clothes were all making him nauseous. He wanted to turn around and flee at the very moment entered the store.
He remembered being here before, when he was with you at this exact place buying a tuxedo for your own wedding five years ago. You had forced him try on way too many of them, finding faults in each one and leaving him riled up. Many hours later when he finally walked out of the trial room wearing the perfect black suit, he was greeted by a teary eyed you. Honestly, he couldn’t tell the difference between the one currently on him, and the various others he had worn right before. But he couldn’t complain upon seeing the glee on your face.
Flashback: Five years ago
“I’m really not liking this shitty bridezilla side of you.”, Levi protested as you pushed him towards the changing rooms with the nine tuxedos you wished for him to try on – nine more than the number he was comfortable with.
“Can we just pick one and be on our way? No one is going to give a shit about what I look like when you’ll be standing beside me in all your glory.”
“Stop trying to butter me up. We're not leaving till we have the perfect tux. So, stop whining and put these on.”, you declared.
He yelped when you shoved him into a stall. ‘God, this man is infuriating sometimes!’ You smiled to yourself, listening to the constant muttering coming from inside. It was so adorable to imagine his knitted brows, scrunched up nose and his pouty lips while he complained incessantly. How you loved to annoy him! And why wouldn’t you? He looked terribly cute when he was pissed.
A few minutes passed and he emerged wearing one of the ensembles you chose.
“As much as that scowl paired up with the suit makes you look like a sexy spy, something isn't right. Can you please try the next one?”, you bat your lashes at him.
He shook his head at the melodrama and turned on his heel with a loud sigh. The next one wasn’t right either. Neither were the many others he wore after that. Oh, he was so livid! He threatened to leave every few minutes, but one pleading look from you would melt him, and he’d return to try on the next outfit.  You knew that your puppy eyes made him completely malleable. And he knew that you knew.
Finally, he dressed into the last piece you chose. Your eyes went wide when they fell on him. He looked celestial! The contrast of the velvety black suit against his porcelain skin, his grey eyes sparkling against the dark fabric, his chiseled body being accentuated by its impeccable fit – you were about to marry perfection. With glistened eyes, you engulfed him into a sudden embrace that made him tense up because of the many heads that turned towards you.
“Oh, just stop overthinking it and hug me back! Levi, you look perfect. I can’t believe I get to marry you!”, you squealed as you squeezed him tighter.
“Don’t think you’re getting away with putting me through this. Might as well call Zacharius and tell him you’re missing work tomorrow.”, he said as he finally wrapped his arms around you.
“Why?”
He leaned in slowly and breathed into your ear causing goosebumps to sprout all over your body -“Because you’re not going to be able to get any work done after I’m finished getting my payback.”
.
Present day
Levi didn’t realize how long he had been day dreaming for, following Furlan around the store until a handful of suits were shoved in his face.
“Try these on, will you?”, he requested.
“Tch! Let's just pick one and get the fuck out of this shithole. I’m not wearing these filthy clothes.” Levi comically flinched thinking about the amount of germs that just made their way on to his body by this uninvited contact, earning Furlan a quick smack on his shoulder.
“Oh, for fuck’s sake! Stop being dramatic and try them on!”, he pushed him towards the trial room giving him no opportunity to respond.
Levi entered one of the stalls with hopes to end this misery as soon as possible while Furlan waited outside. He emerged in a few minutes wearing the first one, a jet-black suit. Furlan rejected it saying it was too similar to what he was planning to wear himself. Then he wore the second one, a deep navy-blue. Furlan shot that one down too. Levi was starting to get worked up, complaining relentlessly under his breath, plotting the murder of his younger brother . When he put on the next set, a sharp charcoal grey three-piece, he decided it was the one he liked the least. He got out of the stall ready to rebuff this one himself before Furlan could.
“What the fuck were you even thinking while choosing this shitty -” He was interrupted by a loud gasp behind and turned to look at the source.
His breath hitched when that peachy fragrance that he had adored for years hit him like a truck. There you stood, just a few feet from him; your face ridden with shock. You were wearing a gorgeous floor length emerald gown that hugged your body at all the right places, your wavy hair cascading down your shoulders.
Levi’s heart began pounding against his chest at the stunning sight before him. He wondered if you could hear it from where you were. Your eyes were blown to twice their size, cheeks flushed, breath shaky. You looked like a deer in headlights. He opened his mouth to say something when...
You bolted.
He turned to Furlan in bewilderment as if to confirm if this had all really just happened or if it was his mind playing games.
“Are you going to just stare at me, or go after her?”
Before the future groom could even finish his sentence, Levi took off.
.
Reader’s POV
After finding Suki by the store entrance, she and you headed back to the couch you were seated earlier. You started browsing through the dresses again, only to find her constantly checking her phone.
“Will you please just choose something so we can both leave soon? What is wrong with you today?”, You were starting to get annoyed at her sudden withdrawn behavior.
She quickly apologized and grabbed a couple of gowns for you to try on before dragging you towards the trial rooms. You could hear muffled mumbling coming from the neighboring stall while you were changing into the gown Suki chose for you but you didn’t give it much thought. You were pleased with how the gown looked on you wondering when you last felt this attractive. Upon walking outside the stall to compliment her on her choice, you were greeted by her and Furlan chatting in the waiting area. Surprised, you were about to say hello just before someone emerged from the stall beside yours.
Levi? You let out an involuntary gasp causing him to turn to you. Grey eyes met yours. Did he just gasp too? The perpetual scowl on his face vanished and was replaced by raised brows, wide eyes and a mouth slightly agape. He looked like he was about to say something.
It felt like you lost control over your body. You were suddenly in motion, rushing towards the nearest escape you could find; Suki trailing behind. Right as you reached the store’s exit, a hand harshly grabbed your shoulder.
“You can’t leave in that dress! We’ll get in trouble for shoplifting!”, Suki panted, finally catching up with you.
She was right. But you were incapable of thinking straight at the moment. So, when you spotted a restroom, you barged inside pulling her in with you and locking the door shut.
It felt like the air was devoid of oxygen. Your breathing began to get laborious. Seconds later you were sitting on the toilet with its lid down, gasping for breath. Your right hand failed to find the comfort of your absent wedding band, that was back in the drawer of your nightstand, by blindly clutching your left ring finger.
“Are you okay? What is happening to you?”, a terrified Suki looked like she was about to cry.
“Panic...attack...”, you managed to blurt out between breaths.
She paced around the room not knowing how to help you. You were starting to feel dizzy; tears running down your face, sweat building up on your forehead, the lack of air starting to get to your brain. There was a soft knock on the door.
“Oi! Suki, let me in.”, Levi demanded from the other side.
You begged hey with your eyes not to open the door, but she did it anyway. He walked in and silently motioned her to wait outside, locking the door behind him when she left. He took out a handkerchief from his pocket, rolled it, and ran it under cold tap water keeping his eyes on you the whole time. He quickly moved to kneel in front of you, as you sat wheezing. Bringing the cold cloth to your face and pressing it against your forehead and neck, he held one of your hands with his free one.
“It's okay. I’m here.”, his soothing voice was already starting to calm you down. But you were in no mood to let him bask in the satisfaction of still having that effect on you.
“You being here... has caused this.”, you glowered while choking on practically nothing.
“Still the same old brat!”, he smirked.
Before your pathetic mess could puff out another ridiculous remark Levi angled your face towards his by cupping your cheeks with both his hands.
“I’m kneeling on this fucking filthy floor for you. So, just shut your mouth, focus on me and let me regulate your breathing.” You accepted defeat and nodded.
“Inhale.
Exhale.”
You did as he said, taking slow and deep breaths of air as he guided you. A few minutes later, your breathing was almost back to normal.
“I thought I showed you how to deal with these episodes. Did you forget?”
“I didn’t think I’d ever have to deal with one without you.”
Well, you didn’t.
.
His hands were still around your face, thumbs gently stroking your cheeks as you tightly gripped the fabric of his blazer with your fists and looked into his eyes. It was like time had frozen and the whole world had come to a halt.
Suddenly, reality struck. You were seeing Levi for the first time since your divorce. Your eyes welled up and you couldn’t prevent the tears from escaping. His sinuses were stinging too. Before you could snap out of it, his hands on your face snaked around you and pulled you into an embrace, one hand caressing your hair, and the other steady around your back. You felt overwhelmed, almost wanting to push him away.
“Just stop overthinking it and hug me back.”, he mirrored your words from five years ago.
And he didn’t need to ask twice. You held onto him for dear life as while sobbing on to his shoulder.
“I miss you.”, your voice quivered.
“I miss you too.”
“Really?”
“You have no idea.”
.
Time passed as you silently sat there taking in the precious moments. You were paying attention to all his features one by one, as if trying to memorize them. His smooth black hair, bright grey eyes; did they always have a tinge of blue in them? His sharp nose, delicate lips, strong shoulders... wait, what is that?
“Fuck! Levi, I ruined your suit!” It was stained with your tears.
“That’s fine I was going to toss it anyway”, he replied, with a wave his hand.
“What? Why? It looks wonderful on you! The blue really brings out your eyes.”, You were sure you sounded like a shy school girl.
“Oh. You think so? Um... Th-Thanks.”, he tried to hide his blush behind a fake cough, causing you to chuckle. He still stuttered awkwardly every time you complimented him, even after all these years.
Levi turned to you again, in all your huffing and puffing glory following your episode - eyes swollen, nose clogged, face probably redder than a tomato.
“We need to talk.”

"You Belong With Me" by Taylor Swift but it's SuperCorp+Andrea Rojas HS AU that I'm too lazy to write into a proper fic so here have vibes:
Kara moves in with the Danvers and gets the room whose window is opposite Lena Luthor--girl next door.
Kara's first few nights she notices Lena's always hunched over some book in her room, which allows her the opportunity to stare freely. Alex catches her in the act, calls her "Creep." then slams the door on her way out.
One night, the Danvers sisters are left alone in the house. Alex sneaks out to a party and Kara deems it safe to blast out the entire Legally Blonde The Musical OBC Recording and went all out in her one woman show, live for one night only.
Lena watches it all from the safety of her room. Math assignment abandoned in favor of watching her next door neighbor do the whole 'Whipped Into Shape' choreography.
The next morning, Lena sits down next to Kara in Science class. Right after the class is dismissed and Kara stands up to go, she hears a voice speak. "I like your rendition of 'So Much Better'"
Kara freezes. Lena throws her a smile before walking out the door.
It hits her on her way home; Oh god, she saw me through the window!! but more importantly, oH MY GOD SHE LISTENS TO SHOW TUNES TOO?!
Two weeks later, Kara sits in front of her desk thinking hard. Frustrated, she thumps her head on the wood. When she looks up again, Lena is smiling at her from her window. Kara blushes, looks away, tries to focus back on her assignment. But she can't resist one last look. And there, Lena Luthor holds up a pad with the words, "Hard assignment? Need help??"
And thus a mutual correspondence was born.
The first time they hang out together, Kara was so nervous she rambled for 3 whole minutes straight. Lena just smiled. "You're cute," she told Kara.
In her quest to get to know Lena Luthor more, Kara discovers Lena has a girlfriend. Lena likes GIRLS!!! Specifically, Lena likes one girl. Specifically that girl's name is Andrea Rojas.
Kara catches them making out in Lena's room. Lena must've forgot to close her blinds. Kara closes her own curtains instead. Clicks off her light for good measure.
Months go by, Lena becomes an almost permanent fixture in the Danvers household. Kara visits the Luthors only once. Lillian merely raising a brow at her not even shaking her hand.
And then, Kara falls and falls. deeper and deeper.
Lena gets farther and farther from her each time she sees her get picked up by Andrea.
The time Lena doesn't spend on Andrea, she spends on Kara. She spends it complaining about her girlfriend. How tired she is of drama, how Andrea always takes Lillian's side, how Andrea didn't call again, how Andrea never seems to listen to her, how Andrea--
"Then break up with her," Kara snaps. "I can't," Lena whispers. "Kara, I love her." Kara shuts up after that.
They don't talk for two weeks.
Lena makes the first move. Kara chances a glance out her window and Lena is there, holding up her pad. "I'm sorry. I miss you."
Alex calls them, "Dorks."; tells them, "Phones exists for a reason.". Eliza calls it, "Cute."
Lena sleeps over one weekend. Kara realizes she wants to wake up to Lena's face every morning of her life.
"Shit, shit, fuck, Kara. It's 11!? Why didn't you wake me? I gotta go, Andrea's gonna kill me. I'll see you on Monday!"
That was that.
"Did Lena and Rojas break up?" Alex asks her one afternoon. "No. Why?" Kara frowns. "Andrea hooked up with that Rogers guy last night. I saw them."
Kara tells Lena because It's my job as her best friend, Alex. "Are you sure you're telling her cos she's your best friend? Or are you telling her cos she's only a best friend." Kara refuses to answer her sister.
Lena still doesn't break it off with Andrea.
Kara gets shitfaced for the first time in her life. Alex covers for her; tells Eliza she's sick, tells Lena--well, Kara doesn't really care much for whatever Alex tells Lena.
They don't talk for another two weeks.
There is a three word sentence on one of the pages of Lena's paper pad. She doesn't have the heart to erase it. She doesn't have the heart to show it to Kara either.
Lena breaks it off with Andrea, three days before Prom. She still hasn't heard from Kara. Kara's curtains are drawn closed every time she looks over.
Prom night comes around. Lena's wearing an elegant maroon dress with a plunging neckline. She turns to pick her face powder, she sees Kara's curtains drawn open. She grabs the first blank paper she gets her hand on.
"Going tonight?" she hastily scribbles.
"No, studying." Kara gives her a shy smile for the first time in three weeks.
Lena writes, hesitates, breathes.
"Wish you were."
Kara scrambles for her sketch pad, the one full of sketches of her best friend, the one which last page contains, "I LOVE YOU." written in permanent marker.
Lena's out the door by the time, Kara looks up.
"Why aren't you dressed?" Alex barges in through her door. "Uhh 'cos I'm not going to Prom?"
Alex smacks her on the head, calls her an "Idiot.", throws her a midnight blue three-piece suit that Eliza had apparently rented. "Just in case, you changed your mind." Eliza had said.
Kara arrives late. Lena is nowhere to be found.
When Kara's eyes land on her, Andrea has one hand wrapped around Lena's wrist.
There is panic for a brief moment. Then, heartbreak. Of course, Lena is going to choose Andrea.
But then- "It's over Andrea." she hears and then she stands there frozen as Lena leaves the gym.
She sees Sam mouth, "Go after her!", feels Alex nudge her into action and then Kara is off.
"Lena wait!"
"Kara? But I thought-"
"I changed my mind," Kara quickly blurts out. "You said you wished I was here, so..." Kara shrugs her shoulder in an attempt to be nonchalant. "Here, I am."
"I don't know what to say," Lena murmurs.
"Then don't say anything."
Kara pulls out a piece of paper from the inside of her suit, Lena stares on wordlessly. Kara carefully unfolds the paper, Lena stops breathing.
I LOVE YOU.
For two beats Lena doesn't respond and Kara feels like her heart is going to beat its way out of her chest. Lena slowly opens her clutch, plucks a crumpled piece of paper.
I LOVE YOU.

someday // l.t.y.
summary: several years after high school, when you and your peers have all established careers, you get invited to your graduating class reunion.
pairing: lee taeyong x gn!reader
word count: 2.4k
genre: exes!au, angst, some closure.
a/n: mentions of alcohol, UNEDITED
You knew this day would come, but not this soon.
It feels like it came fast when in reality it’s been almost seven years since you graduated from high school. It took a handful of odd jobs after receiving your bachelor’s degree, but you were able to land a position as an accountant. With your hard work, you’ve slowly climbed up the ladder to where you now serve as the finance director of the firm you work for. Your salary is handsome, as per your standards, and you were recently able to afford a nice apartment. It was only after your move that you visited your parents on the other side of the city where they handed you the envelope in your hands. It was an invitation to your high school reunion.
That's how, fast forward a week later, you found yourself standing in front of your old high school gymnasium. You see people walking towards the entrance and feel stupid because most of them seem to be going with another person, maybe a friend they would keep in touch with or a significant other. Maybe you should have coaxed one of your co-workers and bribed them with drinks or something afterward. Too late now, you thought, as you sighed and made your way to the entrance. Upon arrival, the first thing you notice is the reasonably large group of people scattered throughout the room. It’s dark and the only light sources are the few disco ball lamps projecting multicolored circles throughout the perimeter of the room. You squint to try to make out people when seconds later, your thoughts are interrupted by a shrill, “Y/N!” You turn your head towards the sound and find an adult Jisoo approaching you. Jisoo was one of your closest friends you kept in touch with for a while but lost contact with a couple of years into college. “Jisoo, is that you? Oh my god, it’s been ages! How are you?” you hugged her, and she began to share how shortly after graduating college, she applied for a job as a photographer at a fashion agency, but she ended up landing a job as a model. Long story short, Jisoo was now a thriving model. “I’m so happy for you!” you gush with sincerity and she gets shy, combing her fingers through her hair. She tells you that she may have just landed her big break, about to fill you in on details when an oh-so-familiar voice cuts her off. “Hey guys,” you turn around and your eyes meet Lee Taeyong.
Taeyong and Y/N: the “dream team” as they used to call you back in high school. You shared a long and valuable relationship with him, dating almost throughout all of high school. That's why when people heard that you split up, they were more shocked than they would have liked to admit. it was a rather nasty breakup that was not mutual at first; he had gotten into his dream university located across the country while you chose to stay in your home city for college. You didn't want to stop him from achieving his dreams of becoming a pediatric dietitian; you would have hated yourself for acting that selfish. Therefore, you thought things could work via long-distance and they did for a while, but the harsh realities like not being able to hold each other in your hard times set in faster than you wanted to admit. Your schedules were becoming increasingly incompatible, and it became difficult for either one of you to grasp onto the relationship. You both watched as it slowly slipped away from your hands. Taeyong was the one to pull the trigger, and with heavy hearts, the two of you officially parted ways.
You have not contacted each other since then. Now, the two of you stand face to face, and you see an emotion in his eyes that you don’t recognize. Perhaps it’s because you successfully managed to forget the negative memories from all the ones you still have of him. Or maybe you just forgot how to read him. “Uh, Y/N, I wasn’t expecting you to show up,” he awkwardly rubs his hands together as he slowly shifts his gaze around the room. “Yeah, I wasn’t going to come, but I decided to come just for the fun of it. Bit of a last-minute decision, actually.” Jisoo could sense the tension in the air and playfully scoffed, “really? Y/N, I thought you weren’t the type of person to make last-minute decisions. You used to grill me for doing that all the time.” You notice the surprise looming on Taeyong's face; he must’ve been taken aback by your statement too. You turn away from his careful gaze before coldly replying, “people change over time, I guess.”
After Jisoo finds someone else to catch up with, you quickly excuse yourself to the bar to grab a glass of punch because there is no way in hell that you want to be left alone with Taeyong right now. The walk over to the bar is a little difficult, mainly due to the lack of light, but you manage to make it without bumping into anyone else. as you pour your punch in a cup, someone clears their throat in front of you. “Johnny Suh!” you gasp, a smile forming on your face. Johnny and you used to be neighbors in high school but right after graduation, he and his family moved to Chicago. You were very sad at the departure of one of your only friends, so you were beyond thrilled to see him again. You shuffle around the table to give him a hug that he gladly reciprocated. “I thought I saw you walk in. how are you, Y/N?”
“I’ve been well. Busy, but well. When did you get back?” He tells you that he recently got a job at an accounting firm, right here in the city. When you ask him where he says the name of your firm. “No way! I work there, too!” Johnny lights up at this, you talk about the work-life, how the people are, and share your experiences.
You fail to notice that across the room, a pair of eyes have been following you ever since you left them alone a few moments ago. Taeyong watches, with a pained gaze, as you reciprocate what is obvious flirtatious behavior from Johnny. Truthfully, when Johnny moved away, Taeyong remembers being a little happy on the inside, because he wouldn’t have to hear you talk about him so much. If he didn’t know better, he’d say that Johnny harbored a small crush on you. When he brought it up, you used to throw your head back in laughter, before pinching his cheeks and calling him cute. That same feeling begs to ignite again, but his head is quicker than his heart, as it forces him to look down at the thin silver band wrapped around the ring finger of his right hand. You’ve moved on, he hears, and he tucks his hand into his pocket. Someone walks over to him and captures his attention, pushing the thoughts of you and what could have been to the back of his head.
Johnny gets a call from someone, so he excuses himself from your company, leaving you standing amidst the terrible background music and a half-full cup of punch in your hand. You figure you can go grab some fresh air right about now, so you meander off to the door, before stepping out onto the concrete outside. The cool summer breeze is comfortable against your arms but out of habit you fold them together, the cup of punch firmly held in your palm. You close your eyes and exhale the breath you didn’t know you were holding. “Care if I join you?” Taeyong’s voice rings, shattering the silence you developed briefly. Opening your eyes, you clear your throat before saying, “be my guest.” Taeyong stands next to you, and once he’s in the light you’re able to get a better look at him. The last time you saw Taeyong, his hair was much shorter and cleanly trimmed. He had innocence in his eyes that twinkled with every step. The version of him standing next to you was definitely more mature; there’s a shadow of smile lines and crow’s feet on the side of his face you see, his hair has grown out quite a bit and you can make out the sharpness of his cheekbone and jaw naturally contouring his face.
“Some things never change, right?” He says out of the blue and you cough to offset the growing embarrassment you feel. He’s referring to how you used to zone out into your thoughts when you stared at him, usually from the side. He would always be able to pick up on it, teasing you relentlessly. “Have you been well?” “Did you move back here?” The both of you asked at the same time to one another, awkwardly laughing off the collision of your questions before you said, “you first.” Taeyong nodded, “I moved back here almost a year ago actually. I was transferred to a small hospital and they knew I was from here, so they figured it was easier to send someone who had a feel for the demographic.” You bit your lip, and he continued, “I didn’t realize how much I missed this city. It was only after I moved back that I felt like this is where home was all along. How about you, did you ever leave?” You shook your head, “I had all my opportunities here, so I never felt the need to go anywhere. I have been perfectly happy and I never felt better,” and as you speak, you notice Taeyong pull his hand out of his pocket to scratch his ear and light reflects the ring resting nicely on his ring finger. You try not to let your eyes widen too much, but you can’t help it if your heart shatters in your chest. “You’re engaged.” Taeyong winced at the change in your tone; he wanted to avoid this topic. “Uh, yeah. Yes, I am.” You attempt to play it off, looking away from his analyzing gaze. “Who’s the lucky person?” Taeyong looks outward with a certain fondness as he recalls details of his significant other. He says they met in one of his classes, saying they “were the best friend he never had”. You listened on as your walls started to break.
“I proposed shortly after I found out I was transferred here. They moved here with me, actually.” You nodded, recognizing all too well this feeling growing in you. It was reminiscent of how you felt when you broke up with him, but this was much more intense. You painfully exhaled and you knew he could sense it. “Happy for you. I really am,” you managed to say without letting your voice crack. Taeyong was always very straightforward with you, and it didn’t surprise you when he said, “Y/N, I was in the darkest place when we broke up. They helped me get out of that. I know it was not an easy decision to make, which is why I want you to know that you will always have a place in my heart. We spent so many years together, it’s natural that you and I will always be something special.” You turn the other way, and this time, you can’t stop the tears from falling. You couldn’t face him anymore because you don’t want to reveal to him that a big part of you still wanted him. Seeing that ring on his finger and hearing him gush about his partner reaffirmed all that. Now, all you wanted to do was to get out of there. “I’ll be honest, sometimes it still feels like I haven’t gotten over you. Even if I did. Know that I will always love you and that you’ll always have a piece of me.” Taeyong says, and a small whimper leaves you. “I’m a mess, Taeyong,” you croak. “I built this strong wall and convinced myself that I was okay. Tonight you’ve proved me wrong. I tried time and time again to find someone else to introduce into my life but no one comes close.” You finally wipe your eyes and turn back to face Taeyong to find silent tears trailing down his face. “I was hoping you’d be here tonight if I’m being honest. I needed to get this off my chest. I’m sorry for everything, Y/N.”
You breathe, the final bit of teardrops sitting at your waterline. “Thank you, Taeyong. For everything, but especially the memories. I know I can’t fall out of love with you overnight, and I certainly will not ask you to do anything selfish. You know that I just want you to be happy, and if they make you happy, that’s all that matters.” Taeyong wants to reach out to wipe your tears, but he’s afraid he’ll cross a line he set for himself. “Would you still want to be friends? For old times’ sake,” Taeyong asks, hoping you’ll say yes. You feel conflicted but you say, “you’re going to need to give me time, Taeyong. I need to sort things out in terms of relationships, and right now, I don’t think I can take being your friend. That’s going to lead to me wishing terrible things on you two, and I don’t want to jeopardize a relationship that is strong enough as it is. Please, don’t force me to befriend you when I’m broken.” Taeyong is hurt, but the rational voice in his head is telling him that you are doing the right thing. “It’s getting late,” you muster the courage to say, “I should head out but I’m glad you got the closure you needed.” Taeyong offered to walk you to your car, and you don’t know if you can take any more heartbreak, but you let him walk you anyway. The tears are gone for now, but they’ll come back. Taeyong hesitates, “Do you want to meet up for lunch or something anytime soon?” You unlock your door and open it before turning to him. There’s a glint of hope in his eye, and you smile meekly, “maybe but not soon, Taeyong. When I’m ready. I hope you can understand.” He nods almost instantly, and you’re grateful for his reaction. “I’ll see you someday,” you tell him and he nods, waving to you as you start your car and leave, whispering under his breath “someday.”
a/n: AHHH my first ever long scenario. this was much easier to do than a series lol but I’m nervous! I would appreciate any and all feedback you guys have for me, and thank you for reading it!

Chapter Index
Tumblr media
Ari opens the door, tossing her backpack to the floor. You weren’t expecting her to come back so early that when the door loudly creaks from the force of the door opening, you jump in surprise. She looks to you with a triumphant look on her face as she practically yells with the door still closing, “I got an A on my fucking paper!” The door slams shut as she does a weird and awkward dance.
“Good job. I knew you could do it,” you congratulate, saving your work on your computer.
Ari kicks her backpack with no care in the world as to what she has inside. “Let’s celebrate,” she extolls, pulling off her hoodie and tossing it on her bed.
You turn your body to the left where she stands, picking up her backpack and putting it on her bed. “Celebrate?”
“Yeah. It’s Friday, I got a well deserved grade after almost breaking my wrist, and I am in the mood for some good food and a drink or seven.”
“What about Hoseok?” Ever since Hoseok and Ari got together, they’ve been inseparable. You sometimes wonder if you’ll be like that when you get a boyfriend. All couples eventually spend time separately, right? You sometimes feel really disappointed in yourself for not knowing a lot when it comes to relationships.
“He’s staying after class with some of his classmates to study for a test that ends tonight,” she says, disbelief evident in her tone.
“Why hasn’t he taken the test yet?”
“I don’t know? He seemed really nervous about this test, so all he’s done is study like there’s no tomorrow. I hope he takes it soon because the longer he waits, the harder it will be to answer questions as time ticks by.” Ari shakes her head, walking to her closet and opening the door. “Are you going in sweats?” She looks at you through the mirror.
You blink at her. “We’re actually going?”
She scoffs, “Yeah. I wasn’t joking, Y/N.” She pulls out a red spaghetti strap and a black jacket. Removing her shirt, she slips on her top. “I want food and some drinks.”
You sigh, “Can’t we just order takeout and sneak some alcohol in?”
“And get in trouble?”
You stare at her, contemplating if sneaking alcohol is really worth it. Groaning, you get up from your seat. “How far are we going?” You walk to your closet, opening the door to grab your jeans and whatever black shirt you first grab. There is no patience when it comes to picking outfits. You just blindly pick and go and hope it looks nice on you.
“It’s only down the street,” she exclaims, taking a set at her desk to fix her makeup at her little mirror. Changing clothes, you realize you put on a turtleneck. You didn’t know you have this type of shirt in your closet. You’ve seen a lot of professional looks with turtlenecks, but you can’t remember buying this and found no reason to wear it. “That’s a cute look,” Ari suddenly says, her body turned towards you. You watch her get up from her seat, making her way towards you. She unbuttons your pants and pushes the lower half of your shirt in your pants. “You’ll look even cuter like this. Plus you have a nice ass, so show it off.” Your hands unconsciously go to your butt, suddenly feeling self conscious. Ari buttons your pants and tells you, “No one will look. You’ll be sitting the whole time.” She pulls your shirt out just a bit to give it a baggy look. “There. Now your cute ass will get attention, but you’ll just look like you’re not interested and they’ll be sad not to have the opportunity to speak to the gorgeous Y/N.”
Ari just seems to have a way with words.
After a few more minutes of double checking for everything, the two of you leave your dorm and head the usual route towards the front parking lot. As you pass Yoongi and Hoseok’s door Ari yells, “Let’s go get you drunk and a boyfriend, Y/N!”
You place your hand over her mouth. “Why are you yelling?” you whisper, checking behind you to see if anyone heard her.
Ari removes your hand from over her mouth. “I’m showing Yoongi you’re better off without him,” she replies, the two of you walking past the stairwell and into the hallway where the exit to the front is.
“What makes you think Yoongi is even in his room?” The two of you are halfway down the hall when the sound chatter can be heard as you pass a group of doors.
Ari shrugs. “The dude never goes anywhere besides class and his room right?” You don’t know yourself. A majority of the time you spent with him was either in his room or somewhere else that not many people from campus went to. “I want him to know you’re about to get dicked down and he’s missing out on a fine ass girl.”
“I’m about to what?” What does that even mean?
Ari laughs as the two of you exit the building and head down the stairwell. “Not today obviously, but it’s to make him jealous.”
“We don’t even know if he likes me,” you counter, following a group of students walking towards the front gate entrance.
“Opposites attract, Y/N.”
“I’m attracted to him, but that doesn’t mean he’s attracted to me.”
Ari loops her arm through yours. “You never know. He might have a crush on shy, innocent types.”
“Wishful thinking, Ari,” you say, shaking your head as the two of you reach the sidewalk and make your way up towards the bar that sits at the corner. There are a few other students a bit up ahead making their way towards the bar as well, their loud chatter can be heard from where you and Ari walk.
“So, how’s your project coming along? Don’t you have like two weeks left?” The two of you pass a hotel. The neon light hanging on the window to the reception flickers every few seconds. Everything is quiet in that building until you pass the seafood restaurant where you can see a few people laughing from the window. It looks more lively than the hotel.
“It’s going great surprisingly.” You rub your arm for a little more warmth. “I just have to finish my body and conclusion and then sum it a bit more for the poster.”
“Damn. So you’ll have it done earlier than anyone when it comes to projects,” Ari whistles.
“People finish their projects a week or more before the due date,” you say, the two of you are now closer to the bar where you know heat will be.
“People who are smart finish weeks before. The rest of us procrastinate,” she laughs, shaking her head. The bar is now within a few feet when Ari says through chattering teeth, “We’re running. I can’t do this anymore.” You don’t have much of an option as she begins to jog towards the building, dragging you with her. Pushing through the door the smell of nachos and burgers invade your senses, your stomach rumbling in hunger. Ari removes her arm from around yours, pushing you towards the seating area. “Go find us a table. I’ll grab the food and drinks.”
Walking further into the building, you look around for an empty table. The walls where the tables and booths occupy are yellow while the brick wall has the kitchen and cashier against it. You scan the room in search of someone leaving, but to your luck you don’t have to look long until you find an empty booth at the far end of the room. You make your way over as another group of people get up from their table, gathering their backpacks after what looks like studying. You take a seat just as Ari makes her way over holding two bottles.
As Ari takes a seat across from you, she hands you the clear bottle with a green substance inside and says, “Flavored alcohol tastes so much better. Plus you’ll want more.”
Thanking your roommate, you take the glass and take a swig of it. It tastes like apples. “Has Hoseok started his test yet?”
“Yeah. When I last texted him, he was getting ready to start the test. He’s nervous and I told him you said "good luck”. He gave me one of those crying faces.“
"I hope he passes,” you mutter as you bring the rim of the glass to your lips. After another drink you add, “Is he coming here after his test or will he just go back to his room?”
Ari thinks for a moment, opening her mouth to answer when the speaker above says, “Ari, please come to the front. Your order is ready.”
She gets up and makes her way to the counter at the front where your food is waiting. From afar you watch her grab the tray, say a few words to the worker and make her way back to your table. “He’s just going to go back to the dorms. He sounded tired over the phone when we last talked,” she answers, putting the tray down and taking her seat.
On the tray is a plate of a greasy cheeseburger and fries; the other plate has nachos with jalapenos. “You got a burger, too?”
“Yeah. I was just going to get nachos for the both of us because it’s a lot, but I was craving a burger, too.” She shrugs. “We’ll share both and have the night of our lives.” You chuckle, grabbing a chip with a jalapeno barely hanging on by the string of cheese that’s attempting to escape from your mouth.
You grab the plate that holds the burger and fries, pulling it towards you. Picking up the knife that’s placed between the fries and greasy stack, you cut the burger in half, careful to not give one side more than the other. “Midterms are starting in two weeks, do you know if all your classes will have them or just some?” you ask, pushing the plate back to the middle for Ari to reach.
She groans, “All of them are going to have a midterm. One of them is a fucking paper that has to be seven pages long.”
“Seven? Which class is that?” You also wonder when she was given the information about the paper, and how long she originally had to write it. Ari is a big procrastinator. If she can avoid doing work immediately, she will and give herself a few days to work on it with all the stress jumping at her.
She shoves a few fries in her mouth in an aggressive manner. “Modern Asia,” she answers, mouth full of chewed up food. “He gave us this big list of documents we need to pick from and watch. Then we have to write a paper on it and answer the questions he has for them. There are seven documents on six different countries.”
“Which one are you picking?” You grab a few nacho chips, flipping it so that the cheese wraps around and coats the chip more.
“Uzbekistan.” She grabs half of the burger, taking a bite out of the corner. “The People, History, and Culture of Uzbekistan to be more specific. It’s on YouTube so it won’t be a mission to find the video, but a big distraction because it’s on YouTube.” Ari takes another bite, bigger this time, of her burger. “This is really good.” She looks up to you. “Should I buy another one?”
“We haven’t made a dent in the nachos yet. Plus we still have the fries to finish,” you inform, clearly shocked that Ari’s ready for more.
“Take a bite of the damn burger and you’ll know what I mean,” she commands, gesturing to your half that sat on your plate in all its glory.
You roll your eyes, doing as told. You can’t deny that it smells amazing and your mouth waters at the endless possibilities as to what it’ll taste like. When you take that bite, it’s like taking a bite out of heaven. Sure you’re being over dramatic, but you totally understand Ari wanting to buy another one. “I’ll go get one,” you tell her, getting up from your seat and taking your bag with you while Ari laughs.
You get to the back of the small line, opening your bag and pulling out your wallet. “Next in line,” a voice calls from behind the counter. You take a step forward, now being two people behind before you’re called. You have to double check to make sure you brought your money with you. There were a few times when you just leave your money at home and have to go the day without eating when you’re stuck on campus all day. You get lucky sometimes when Ari would bring you your missing items. The worker calls for the next customer to come up.
“Y/N?” You look behind you to see a familiar face. A familiar face with a name you cannot remember. It’s your partner during beer pong. The handsome guy who any person would want to date. He’s easygoing and funny and friendly, and you cannot remember his name.
“Hey,” you say, trying your best not to sound lost because his name is not coming to mind. “How are you?”
“Good, good. A friend of mine and I were tired from studying, so we decided to come here for a few drinks and some food.” A voice calls for the next person; the two of you move up. “What about you?”
“My friend got an A on her paper. She wanted to go out and celebrate.”
“That’s awesome! I’d do the same if I were her,” he laughs, his smile actually making your heart race as he runs his fingers through his jet black locks.
“Hey, Hanbin,” a male voice calls, coming up to the line. Hanbin. That’s his name. “There’s no empty tables. You just wanna eat outside or bounce?”
“Really? Ah, man.” You watch as Hanbin looks around the building in hopes of someone leaving their table.
“You can eat with us,” you say before you can even stop yourself from letting the words escape your mouth.
Hanbin and his friend look at you. “Really?” the stranger asks.
You can’t say no. You already messed up, and saying no will only make you look like a jerk. “Yeah.” Good job Y/N.
“We don’t want to impose,” Hanbin tells you, looking a little nervous.
“It’s okay.” Where is all this false confidence coming from? “It’s up to you if you want,” you say, turning around and pointing in the direction you and Ari are sitting. “We’re over there if you want to join.”
“Next in line.”
You turn back around and make your way up to the cashier. You give your order for the second burger you and Ari are about to devour, paying and making your way towards your booth where Ari finishes her half of the burger. “I messed up,” you rush, grabbing your drink and placing it on her side of the table.
“Messed up? What’d you do?” Ari asks, suddenly being pushed further in the booth as you scoot in. “What are you doing?”
“Remember Hanbin? The boy I told you was my partner at the party?” You grab the plates and pull them closer to the two of you.
“Yeah?”
“Well he was standing in line behind me and we had small talk and the next thing I know, I invited him and his friend to sit with us,” you profess in a shaky voice.
“You just invited two guys over?” she asks in an ambivalent tone.
You can see her from the corner of your eye staring at you as you babble, “Yes.”
Her hand moves to her chest. “Has my little Y/N grown up?”
You turn to look at her in surprise. “You’re not mad?”
She laughs, “No. Why would I be?”
“Because you’re dating Hoseok and it’ll look bad if someone saw you chatting with a guy?” Isn’t that how it works? You’ve seen it in movies and it always leads to problems—eventually solved.
“Hoseok trusts me just like I trust him. I’d never cheat on him, and we’re not stopping each other from having opposite sex friends.” She shrugs, looking behind you. “Is that them?”
You turn to look in the direction her eyes are focused on. Hanbin and his friend stand by the soda fountain, getting their drinks. “Yeah. The boy with the green jacket is Hanbin and I don’t know the other guy’s name,” you confess, wondering if it’s rude to not introduce yourself. Then again, he didn’t either.
Ari’s voice is now closer to you as she speaks, “Don’t tell Hoseok but he’s really cute. Why not date him? Tall, fit and handsome? That’s a whole package.” She suddenly gasps, “His package must be—”
You cover her mouth with your hand. “Do not finish that sentence,” you sputter, glancing around to see if anyone heard you. To your luck no one’s paying attention to you and your perverted friend.
Aris swats your hands away. “He’s cute, Y/N. And if he comes over and sits with us, then he’s interested in you, too.”
“Or he’s looking for a seat because there is none,” you counteract, grabbing a nacho and shoving it in your mouth. “Also, I’m not interested in him.”
“Guess we’ll see.” A voice speaks over the speaker, calling your name. “Time to devour a delicious burger.” She slaps her hand on your shoulder, pushing you out of the booth.
Groaning, you get up and make your way to the pick-up counter, telling the person your name and getting your order. “Are you sure it’s okay?” Hanbin asks, suddenly appearing next to you to grab his own order.
You almost jump, gripping the plate tighter. He looks to you unsure if he’s allowed to follow. You can feel your heart racing. This is strange. Ari’s words are just getting to you. “Yeah,” you swallow, looking anywhere but at him. “It’s fine.” You are not growing feelings for him.
“Thank you so much, Y/N. I really wanted to eat some chicken strips,” he laughs, his voice sounding smoky.
Oh God you like him.
You, Hanbin and Matthew, he tells you, shaking your hand so enthusiastically, make your way towards your booth. Ari is busy stuffing her face with fries to even notice you three until you set the plate down and take a seat next to her. She looks up, eyes wide and fries sticking out of her mouth. Thankfully she waves rather than talk with her mouth full of food. Matthew gets in first followed by Hanbin.
“Uh.” You glance at Ari who quickly chews on her food. “This is my friend and roommate, Ari.” You point to Matthew. “Ari, this is Matthew and this is Hanbin,” you finish, pointing to the boy in front of you.
“Hello,” Ari starts, once she’s chewed and swallowed her fries, “I’m really hungry, and these fries are good.”
Matthew gasps, “They are.” He turns to Hanbin. “I told you this place has some fucking good food.”
Ari looks to Hanbin as if he offended her. “You’ve never been here before?” He looks at her with a lost expression. He clearly doesn’t know how to respond. To his luck, however, he doesn’t have to as Ari adds, “It’s a good thing you have a friend like Matthew to introduce you to nirvana.”
The brunette haired boy snaps his fingers, pointing to your friend. “Exactly.”
“What’s your major?” Ari asks, grabbing the second plate that has the burger to cut it in half.
“Biomedical sciences,” he answers, taking a bite out of his taco.
“Oh? That sounds interesting. What exactly do you study?” Ari rests her arms on the table, leaning forward. The burger no longer exists to her.
“Just kind of the understanding of biological and chemical systems of the human body. What about you?”
“Linguistics, and Y/N here is a photography major.”
Matthew’s eyes are now on you. “Oh another art type.”
“Art type?” you question, finally taking bites out of your half of the first burger.
“Yeah. Photography creates art; stand-still pieces. There’s art galleries for photography, right?” Matthew glances between you and Ari.
“Yeah, I believe so,” Ari replies, popping a fry into her mouth.
“Plus Hanbin here is also an art type,” he begins, nudging his friend with his elbow, “Film.”
“You’re a film major?” You look to him, completely invested in his stories you want him to tell.
He gives you a shy smile. “Yeah.”
And just like that the rest of the night is a blur. You four eat and definitely drink. Ari and Matthew are drunk while you and Hanbin are buzzed. You mainly have conversations with Hanbin half the time the four of you sit. The two of you talk about film and photography—things you do and try to make your work look better. Eventually Matthew’s girlfriend comes and picks him up. Ari gushes at how cute she is and you have to apologize for how… gushy she is. Matthew’s girlfriend doesn’t seem to mind much as she smiles and walks a drunk Matthew out of the building.
After a while you and Hanbin decide it’s time to head out. Hanbin offers to walk you back to your dorm, and rather than politely decline his offer you say, “Please.”
Now you and Hanbin are chuckling at Ari as she whines about how much she loves Hoseok. Reaching your room you unlock the door for Ari to stumble in and get ready for bed. You keep the door cracked open as you look back at Hanbin.
“Thank you for the walk back.”
He shakes his head. “No problem. With everyone being drunk, you never know who’s trying to start something.”
You smile. “Still, I appreciate it.”
His smile is even bigger as he points to the way you just come from. “So I can head back the way we came?”
“Yeah.”
“Okay. Guess I should head out. Be sure to give Ari some water and medicine for her headache if she gets one.” You nod. “We should do this again,” he says, scratching the back of his neck.
“Definitely. Goodnight and have a safe drive home,” you say, voice quieter than before.
“Goodnight, Y/N,” he mumbles, and it’s so sudden.
An instant that makes your heart race and realization hit as he presses his lips to your forehead, leaving before you can say anything. You touch the spot where his lips met your skin.
You have a crush on him.
