So angel Carmillia imagine her being just a normal person who got into heaven because she died saving her children or the like. Hooking up with Sera for however long and then realizing not only are her girls dead, they're in hell. Carmilla and Sera dedicated relationship and utterly in love but Carmilla still choosing to fall to be with her girls instead. The two seeing each other again thanks to Charlie after decades apart, and the pain of knowing one chose their 'job' and the other their family over each other.

But she and the others look so different, and not even in a bad way, but seeing the bright colors and happiness on them after years of darkness was kind of weird.

And they looked genuinely happy too, happy in a way that he could never really draw out of them when the apocalypse started. 

He-uh didn’t really know what to think of that, since you know… he wasn’t there with them.

NOT THAT HE WASN’T GLAD THEY WERE HAPPY! Man upstairs no, they needed a break from that constant depressive atmosphere, and he missed seeing Unikitty all bright and carefree, her fur a nice soft pink compared to the harsh fiery red she’d been sporting for the past few years. As he continued to observe what was happening not like he had a choice it looked like the aliens weren’t that evil.

...wrote a short story once for a contest with my idea being something about protect and thought of a loyal knight going against the king in order to protect the prince.

...I reached the word limit before I could actually get to that scene though. I was very sad.

I feel like every writer has created whole stories before around just that one specific scene that they thought of and really wanted to write. Sometimes I wonder what those scenes were for my favourite stories.
