i agree, 100%, and hope other ppl with experience with other disability aids can chime in. i would also add in tests, which aren't always covered and your ability needs can change due to condition/etc.
Glasses are expensive af, but even when I was in Canada, the American online glasses stores were cheaper. With shipping. If you have your current prescription, you can buy glasses online. Zenni. Eyebuy. FramesDirect. I've bought at all of them and they're all about the same. My current frames are about 7yrs old. They got transitions, sunglasses, fashion, etc.
Not free, but also not the $1000 I was paying before (and that was 7yrs ago, I'm scared what they would be now).
wheelchairs and canes and glasses and hearing aids and every single other mobility aid should be free btw and if you disagree i hate you
