slowly amassing a list of duo, group, & ship nicknames in the fandom. mostly because pjo is one of the few fandoms i've been in where any alternative duo/group/ship names are used with extreme infrequency. literally the only ones i've seen used with much frequency are the perjasico alt name that stopped being used back in like 2016 (which has apparently been more recently replaced with "Little 3" or "Little Big 3" which is cute) and the duo name "Underworld Siblings," the latter of which is ironic because i swear it used to be "Death Sibs" and i have no idea when people switched over and now i'm the only person who still uses it.

i'm just saying that these are literally little kids in middle school. i'm not saying that middle school kids don't have relationships, but it's still weird. and from, i'm boutta geek out about this incredibly obscure topic i'm sorry, a developmental standpoint middle grade children are nowhere near psychologically ready to be in a relationship which is why it's extremely rare to see couples who have been together since middle school (that one episode of abbott elementary). if you go on tiktok and look for people who broke up with someone they were in a relationship with from middle school- high school, those breakups are traumatic

all breakups are traumatic in some way, but there have been several people who have developed traits of borderline personality disorder because they broke up with someone they had been romantically involved with since middle school.

also let's not forget how warped your view on intimate relationships go (fucking. imma say it the way you think about fucking is skewed). the people i've spoken to who broke up with their middle school partner in their older parts of high school have recounted just how awful their view on sex was, some have even pondered if they were asexual because they couldn't picture themselves up under anyone else.

like i get it, it's cute to see little kids who like each other, but most of this fandom are of age to drive, to study for the SATS/gsces, some are able to legally drink in the united states, or applying to college. these are little baby children that high school students and young adults should not be playing match maker for. ALSO WALKER SCOBELL IS IN MIDDLE SCHOOL/ HIS FIRST YEAR IN HS HE WAS BORN IN 2009.

i get it, we all have head canons, but shipping two middle schoolers who a) may or may not have started puberty b) did not stay at one school for too long c) don't know trig formulas d) may or may not have had their first period/ voice dropped/ you get the picture.

i don't understand percabeth as a whole romantic ship, but mostly as a fluffy little middle school flirty thing (prolonged eye contact, stealing hats, asking if they can hug/kiss at a certain time, etc.)

i love love love the concept of seaweed brain and wise girl, smartwater, percabeth, whatever, I THINK THEY'RE ADORABLE but i don't understand the draw of why people feel the incessant need to make it extremely romantic. like why why whyyyyyyy. can we js let them be kids, because lets be real a lot of the newer additions to this fandom only know about the show (and its okay we love you guys anyway its just that some of us have read the books too, its not required for you to love the show that you need to read the books) and are already talking about 'annabeth and percy need to just kiss already' no they don't. cs percy just lost his mom (i know something you dooonttttttt) and our cutie patootie annabeth is still lowkey a mystery (i'm guessing?? idk i haven't watched the show yet i think im gonna pirate it soon or smth, im js assuming because idk what point the show is at in relation to the first book), etc. can we maybe not make them a whole ass ship until the show is in relation to the last few books of the series. lets js let them be kids for now.

AND THIS IS NOT TO SAY THAT I DIDN'T LIKE WHEN THEY WERE AN ESTABLISHED RELATIONSHIP IN THE LATER BOOKS OKAY ITS NOT TO SAY THAT im just saying that i didn't understand the concept of percabeth within the first few books because it was a little wonky to really really want two twelve year olds to be in a relationship. they're cute when its in the last few books but come on yall. lets not ship them yet. also report any smut you see of them that's not cool or rick riordon approved.

Prom? [Plance Story Idea]

Pidge is the new girl in school in her junior year, Lance is a senior who’s moving away for college. They meet through a bunch of friends, then they start to hangout and get to know each other. By the midterm Pidge starts to fall for Lance and wants to ask him out to Prom. Pidge tries to build up the courage to ask him out, but even with the support of her friends she couldn't do it. By the end of the year, Lance asks her out to Prom, and is in doubt he didn't do anything sooner, and is in despair that he has to leave for college and having to leave pidge.

Should I write this? I don't know, I need someone's opinion.

My favorite thing about the Lance×Pidge ship, which has quickly taken over Allurance for me within the seconds it took for Lance to jump to save Pidge(it was already close since s1 tbh), I'm just a shitty procrastinator and have been lazy lmao, is the various ship names I've seen so far and I can just imagine it being a fucking meme within the group.

Names I've seen and opinions:

Plance- A++ lovely garden.

Pidgance- Alright, fair. Each loses a letter.

Rainforest- Yes. I love when ships just become normal words. Less annoying autocorrect.

Pance- Love, I just want someone to joke that it seems like Pidge 'wears the pants in the relationship' and just responding with just confusion and mild discomfort, "How the fuck am I going to wear our relationship? Do I need to wear both him and myself?" And having an existential crisis as the person looks on in horror before booking it and absconding. As soon as they're out of earshot just straightening up and looking at other paladins with a deadpan stare, "And that my friends is how you smash the gender binary and sexism at once."

Cyance- is cute because it is their colors mixed, sort of has Lance's name in it, and sounds like Science for Pidge.

Lidge- always becomes lodge on my phone and it makes me want to lodge it into a blender.

Klance- I will laugh in the face of K/antis everywhere if these two end up together and that was what Klance actually meant. Been my person conspiracy since the beginning too.

Flirtyrobot- is strange but hilarious and quite fitting.

Smartwater- Ahh, the word ship names. Understandable and easy for new Voltron fans to guess the two being shipped.

Seasalt- the saltiest of salts for the ultimate move against salty K/antis when combined with Sheith.

Plance: Pidge has a habit of rolling/moving around while resting, so when cuddling on a couch, Lance prefers to be on the edge with Pidge wedged between him and the back of the couch so he blocks her from falling off. (same with in a bed if it's up against a wall, she's on the wall side)

Planning/ Study essentials!

It’s back to school season! If you haven’t already started school again and you are still in school, you will probably be starting within the next month. I decided in honour of this special time of the year I would compile a short list of some of my study essentials!

1. The first is this yearly overview printable from @thearialligraphyproject . She makes amazing printables and downloadables! They are gorgeous and help keep me so organized! You can put them on a bulletin board as I did, or stick them in a binder for reference during school!

2. Another must-have is the Leuchtturm1917 Notebook! Mine is A5 size, 249 numbered pages, in the shade black with a dotted ruling. The size is great, having plenty of space to do lists, journal entries, or even just your weekly spread. I like to keep things pretty minimalistic with the black colour- it helps me focus more on my actual work than my aesthetic. The dotted ruling is pretty faint and allows for lots of room for artistic freedom while allowing you to effortlessly draw straight lines.

3. Next is my laptop! I have what seems to be the popular choice, with the classic Macbook Air . It is not necessary at all, of course, to have the fanciest,  most expensive laptop, or even a laptop at all! It is, in fact, mandatory that I have a personal device for school, but I use this for so much more reasons than that. It allows me to access calendars, documents, programs such as One Note and google drive, and of course, better access to Tumblr and this great studyblr community.

4. My laptop is also good for one other thing and that is spotify! I always have to have some sort of show or music at all times. When I have to do homework, study, or anything else that requires a lot of focus I usually go for softer music such as jazz or folk if not something completely instrumental. I’ve been listening to ABBA and Michael Kiwanuka a lot recently as I haven’t needed to really focus that hard recently. Pictured I have Leon Bridges Artist page  - I really love his song “Coming Home”

5. As I mentioned, music is essential to me when it comes to anything really, and so when I’m not at home I use my Beats Studio Wireless. I have them in gold, which keeps me looking cute while I study, and due to the Dual-mode Adaptive Noise Canceling, they allow me to block out the rest of the world. They are wireless which allows me to roam free without having to worry about getting a cord caught somewhere or accidentally unplugging them! However, they do come with a connective cord, which is great for if you forget to charge them, need to fly, or don’t want to lose your phone during a run!

6. Muji Pens, which I have in black, pink and orange, are another essential of mine! I only recently bought some while I was London this summer, but they are a game changer! They write so smoothly and I have them in 0.5 which allows for me to control how thick or thin I write! Black pens, in general, are also a must-have of mine, and I’ve always kept it simple with Papermate pens!

7. Last, but certainly not least is Water! Hydration is so important for your health, and I constantly have a bottle of water beside me. Drinking water helps keep me awake, headache free, focused and radiant. It is a miracle liquid. I love Smartwater  if I’m in a pinch, and Voss Sparkling Water as something a little bit more fun, but I’m obsessed with my double-insulated reusable water bottle, very similar to those found at Swell. It holds 25 fluid ounces and keeps my water cold all day! They can also be found in a variety of colours to fit your every need!
