Sunday Six!

Taking a brief break from finals to post today's writing! Hopefully I'll crack out some more stuff during these next two weeks (finals -> spring break!), but for now it's more Sugiura substory content!

“By the way, what kind of business are you planning to open?” Joryu finishes wiping his fists off, noting the various scratches along his knuckles.

Sugiura smiles, “A detective agency. I’m close with a similar agency in Kamurocho, but I want to be able to help the world in my own style.”

Joryu's ears perk up.

“Wait, you were based in Kamurocho?” 

He turns away as to not give away any emotions, as he busies himself with cleaning his glasses.

“Yeah. And it was a fine home. But, all I really did there for a long time… was run away. That’s part of the reason I’m changing locations. I wanted a fresh start, so I don’t fall into old habits.”

Joryu raises an eyebrow, putting on his glasses and turning back around.

“What’s the other?”

“Well, I don’t want to compete with my mentors, after all. They’re masters of their craft.”

“The craft of…?”

“Case hunting.” Sugiura looks wistfully into the distance as Joryu lets out a chuckle.
