i think sacred music in the kryn dynasty would be very cyclical and repetitive in form to symbolize the idea that life is a continuous thing (at least those who are consecuted right right) and is a cycle across lifetimes and yeah

What would you say your current religion/spirituality is as of now? Are you a hardcore Catholic?
No actually. Funnily enough, at this point in my life I really just like Catholicism from a historical/aesthetic standpoint. Most of my interest in Catholicism fades away after like, the 1600rds.
Many of my favorite historical figures are catholic (mary i, stephen gardiner, those two teehee), and I do love doing research on catholicism during the reformation era, and how they were essentially an oppressed class. but it's not something i really cling on to outside of a historical context. and i mean, i do love doing research on catholicism outisde of america; like in lebanon, syria, palestine, india, etc.
but for me, it's like you see a flier for a show or movie you used to love as a kid and you're like 'hey i know that!' but it's not something i am truly apart of.
I was born Catholic, but for personal reasons I do not have strong ties to it. I haven't been to a normal Catholic service since I was 18 (I am 28). And the times I have gone recently, have been a total of three times in the past ten years...again, not for normal services. Erm more so...well...tragic situations so you can guess what I mean by that.
CURRENTLY, I am into a lot of spirituality but I haven't been practicing that much recently, I am trying to get back into it. I am culturally catholic, like, that is how i am. i was simply born that way, and there are still some things that make me go 'hey!'. but i also believe in many different gods and deities. i offer praise to different deities. like don't get be wrong, i still believe in the Abrahamic God. I still believe in like, the story of Jesus and the saints and stuff...but im not going to church.
i practice forms of ancestral veneration due to my traditional practices. I am very very into tarot cards, crystals, oils, candle, florida water, herbs, etc....so you do with that what you will.
obvs i talk about religion a lot here, given the vast majority of my research and original characters just happen to be clergy.
i hope that answers your question.
and like as a black american person, i do have a complicated relationship with christianity. my family is catholic due to having irish or scotish slavemasters. that is why there are multiple irish and scotish surnames in my family, and why some of my black relatives are randomly red heads.
i tend to think that for black and native american people (and black and native latin people and i guess you can even add like mestize americans and chincano/a people) , our relationship to catholicism is something that is very complex. most of our ancestors didn't choose to become catholic, it was just something that happened.
it's sometimes why you see such a push in *taboo* traditions in black and latin communities. Like hoodoo and santeria are really big - people outside these communities (and even some people in these communities) are terrified, but to a lot of us, it is a connection to our traditions before slavery.
wow i got off topic LMAO
