Octokuber, day 10 - Redeemed Villain
I have taken a break from drawing the suits, I have deadlines 🏃
I know you all voted Ghost as the worst Kamen Rider, but can we all at least agree that Alain was pretty good? I was fixated on that "the sky was blue" line for so long, and then when he had that face turn episode, I was straight up on the floor in tears bro. AND the Necrom suit rocks

I may be hella afraid of birds but that wont stop me from making this.
Injured wing
Tumblr media
The poor thing was in the balcony of the apartment. Making sounds and flapping their wings at ferocity to try to take flight again as you watched in pity.
Taking a warm towel from the dryer, your boyfriend's one since it was the comfier to be exact, you picked up the squirming little brow winged creature and took inside. You didn't had the heart to leave it out there, especially due to the snow.
While taking things out of cabinets, you didn't noticed your phone buzzing with the notifications of a certain... top hero calling you.
.
.
.
"A nightingale." You mused as you read on the internet what type of bird was now having fun on bathing on q small pot of water and singing to its heart content "How adorable!" You gushed as it shock out of the droplets of water as you carefully put a sorta of a tiny sling on a popsicle stick to mantain its feather that seemed to be broken stood on place.
"Sorry buddy, guess you're gonna have to stay like this for some time." The bird seemed to calculate your words before tweaking as you giggled at its cuteness.
That is until you heard the door opening and clicking shut.
Fuck. Keigo.
You grabbed the bird delicately and put it on a box filled with a soft towel and placed on your bed before going to open the bedroom's door to see a soaked wet, hair flat and worried hero with a frow.
"Is this some sorta of revenge or what? I was worried sick (Y/n)! You weren't answering your phone so I thought something happened." You picked your phone in confusion.
"You did?" Shit "oh..."
"Yeah. 'Oh.'" He crossed his arms before sighing cupping your cheeks "Why did you stood me up? I thought we were going to have dinner together on that restaurant."
"God!" You face palmed "I totally forgot! I'm so sorry Kei!" You whined as he let out a chuckle.
"Is fine. Although I would like if you compesate for m-"
Before he could finish his sentence, you both froze when a couple of chirps were heard. You analyzed his expression and soon giggled in nervousness at seeing his wings puff up in alarm.
"Was that.. was that a chirp?" He yed you, his pupils dilated as you took a step back with a smile.
"I.. I dont know? Maybe they are out there singing." You rolled your eyes and sweated when he towered over you as you kinda protected the nightingale inside the box with your body.
Yet the chirps intensified...
"There is a bird in here." Hawks more accused than asked as you giggled in nervousness once again.
"A bird? Why would a bird be-" the nightingale manage to escape the box and tweaked at both of you "...here."
"What is he doing in here?" He asked, if you didn't know Keigo enough, you could assume he was... unpleasant.
That's why you were so hesitant on showing the little nightingale to him in the first place when he showed up. You werent blind, and knew Keigo had some bird attics that showed up here and there. It wasn't as frequent as it would be however he was resting if the commission hadn't somehow put their hands on it. But Keigo didn't hold much strings around you. So... you could clearly see that your boyfriend wasn't happy when another one of "his kind", especially a male, he could tell somehow it was a male by the chirping dont ask why, was beneath the same rooftop as him with his partner alone.
"Is here because he is injured Kei, he needs some treatment." You cupped your hands together for the nightingale climb in it as Hawks hlardd holes at the little thing.
"Take him to the vet or something kid, this ain't a clinic." You flinched at his words but still remained strong.
"No I am not." You said "I dont know if they are going to sacrifice him or not Kei, I cant take chances."
"Do you even know how to take care of a bird in the first place dove?!" He asked, hands up as his wings puffed even more which made you snort and arch an eyebrow at him as the fella in your hands chirped.
"Well, I do have some knowledge of wings. And have to take care of one on daily basics." You giggled at the expression of shock and insulted Keigo did before walking off and leaving him groaning and sulking at knowing you wouldn't get rid of that street bird...
.
.
"Keigo Takami." He froze when he heard his full name coming from your mouth "Put that phone down. That little bird is going to stay until it gets better." He did just as you said with an eyeroll before pouting in anger at seeing the bird at your shoulder.
That's his place to put his chin on and snuggle your neck with his face. His.
"And you have to carry that thing whenever you go now? That must suck." He tried to joke, leaning with crossed arms on the kitchen counter as before his face completely fell as you simply chuckled and said it didn't bother you at all.
"Seriously?" He asked in disbelief before grabbing his mug taking a few gulps before you widened your eyes and giggling "What are you laughing at?"
"Is just that mug was full of water early and maybe our little friend may have took a bath in it." Your boyfriend stood up so fast and soon you heard disgusting noises of vomiting .
"For god's sake KEIGO I WASHED IT!"
"I DONT CARE THAT THING SHOULDN'T BE BATHING ON MY STUFF WHAT THE HECK?!"
You sighed, waiting for your boyfriend to be back as you feed the little bird with some seeds carefully, soon being met with Keigo, still brushing his teeth.
"Drama king." You chuckled as he groaned "You know he is not a thing Kei, is a nightingale."
"Great knowing it." He said with a mouthful of toothpaste before spitting into the trash, saying something about not dirtying his bathroom with other birds germs or something.
He looked at you a bit in defeat at seeing you feeding the bird as you noticed his wings drooping a bit.
"What is wrong now bird brain?" You giggled at his expression.
"You should be feeding me ... your boyfriend." You snorted before picking a sunflower seed and showing it to him.
"I thought you didn't liked this stuff?" Yoh asked cheekily as he groaned.
"There is chicken, takoyaki, nuggets heck everything that I eat!"
The bird chirped and you nodded thoughtfully as he stared at you in confusion.
"Cannibalism. I agree."
"Oh cmon I thought we were over this..." he sighed before getting something from the fridge as he scowled at the chirps following after.
.
.
.
He glared at the bird chirping a song as you hummed in delight at the sound, staring lovely at the nightingale.
"Oh cmon Kei!" You poked his cheeks which was puffed "You have to admit is a amazing sound! Nightingales are famous for that!"
"Hawks are famous for other things too y'know?" He grumbled before widening his eyes at seeing you werent giving him attention, instead grabbing your phone and recording the nightingale's chirping.
"Hm? What did you say Kei?" You looked up at him with that smirk which made him scoff and stood up with crossed arms and going to the kitchen.
You stiffled your giggled, going to your pouting boyfriend and hugging him lovingly after putting the injured bird back to safety.
"You're really jealous huh?" You carresed his chest as he breathed in and out, cheeks red at being so obvious about his feelings.
"Is a form of flirting birds singing to their mates. That little shit." He mumbled, earning you a laugh that made him smile as feeling you peppering kisses all over his neck and jawline before he caught your lips with his.
You broke apart with a goofy smile as he chuckled before deadpanning at hearing chirps before puffing and straightening his wings on all glory before shouting at the nightingale:
"GO GET YOURSELF A PARTNER! THIS ONE IS TAKEN YOU PIECE OF CRAP!"
You never laughed so hard in your life. A sound that, for Keigo at least, was far more beautiful than any chirping, singing or melody on this whole world.
.
.
.
After a few days you saw Keigo's hatred for the nightingale easing slowly but surely. Yet you never thought that coming home late on one of Keigo's day off, you would see your boyfriend, layed on the couch with a finger up holding the bird he claimed to hate it and whistling some similiar tone along with the nightingale's chirping.
You stared in shock yet awe at the look of your boyfriend directed to the bird as the sounds came out of his lips before chuckling.
"Your wing soon will be better by the looks of it. Isn't (Y/n) a great nurse?" He mumbled, a sadness deep down on his gaze as he saw the bird clapping the wing that wasn't wrapped up "You got freedom and my dove's attention bud, how could you and (Y/n) not expect me to get jealous?" He chuckled sadly as you frowned, walking slowly towards him, pretending to not overheard his monologue.
"Hey pretty thing, back already?" His cheeky smile was back as you looked at it in awe before kneeling in front of the couch he was layed on and kissing him deeply, making him close his eyes in bliss and pull you closer with his free hand by the neck.
You broke apart as he panted with a glossy yet pleased look. Ignoring the chirps for a bit, you carresed his golden looks as he closed his eyes with a smile.
"Redeeming yourself for giving attention to this bird and not me for these past few weeks?" He murmured happily yet drowsily as you giggled and kissed his forehead softly.
"You could say that bird brain." You stopped for a bit, hearing him whine miserably for you to get back, cupping your hands for the bird to get in.
"Cmon..." he whined, arm dropped over his face as the other rested on him until he felt you tugging on his shirt.
"Just get up lazy, I'm giving you all the attention you want." At this, you saw his golden eyes practically glow in bliss as he stood up as fast as he could.
.
.
.
He stretched his arms as he sitted up on the bed. Hair untamed and eyes unfocused until they dropped on the bird that had exited his box and was flapping both of his wings. Both.
"Huh. You look all better." He smirked as he felt you shift and rest your chin on his shoulder with a drowsy look.
"Who is better?" You mumbled before he pointed at the bird jumping and trying to take flight.
"Your friend there." You squealead as hs chuckled, grabbing the nightingale in one hands as he unwrapped the the made up sling as he waited patiently for the little fella to flap its wings and fly just a few centimeters above his palm.
"Cmon dove." He ushered you to follow him on the balcony as he had a gentle hold on the nightingale "Go little buddy, being stuck on a unknown place forever isn't goog for anyone."
And with a little movement of his hand, the nightingale took flight with beautiful chirps that made you smile but soon look at your boyfriend with a sad smirk as he watched the little bird fly away.
It wasn't sadness because he got attached to the nightingale. It was because that, even a small bird as he, could be free and not him. A grow up man that had a partner but was still caged by the comission...
You carresed his arm before hugging it and placing a sweet kiss to his cheek which brought his attention back to you.
"How about some hot cocoa my handsome? You still got some minutes stuck with me until you go to work." You said softly in Hope's to cheer him up.
He looked at you in some sorta of shock before chuckling and bringing you close enough to him to hear his heart beat and feel his warm yet chapte lips on your forehead.
"Being stuck with you is the only way that keeps me going to be honest."

Ayato and Azusa compete to see who can eat the most spicy food in the least amount of time!
——————————————————————
Location: Vandead Carnival
Ayato strolled through the carnival, looking for the takoyaki booth. The bright colors and laughter surrounded him as he got increasingly more agitated. “Where is it?” He must’ve gone around the entire carnival three times. Ayato turned around to find and confront Shu, who was undoubtly sleeping somewhere, when he heard someone call his name. “Hey…Ayato…” Ayato turned and saw Azusa Mukami standing by a table full of food. “What?” Ayato asked. Ayato had gotten more used to Azusa, but he still creeped him out. “I’m eating…this spicy…food…do you…want to try…some…?” “No way! Yours Truly is gonna find some takoyaki!” Azusa looked disappointed. “That’s…a shame…I thought…you’d…be interested…there’s…a competition…” Ayato perked up. “A competition? Of what?” “Who…can eat…the most…spicy food…but if…you don’t want…to join…” “Of course I’m joining! Yours Truly will win first place, just you watch!”
Azusa and Ayato each stood in front of a table piled high with plenty of spicy food. A crowd of vampires had gathered to watch the competition, including Azusa’s and Ayato’s brothers, but no one else had signed up to compete. “I knew Ayato was an idiot, but he can’t be this fuckin’ crazy.” Yuma muttered. “Does he even know how spicy that shit is? Even Azusa might have trouble eating some of that.” “Ayato is arrogant, he’ll take advantage of any chance to prove he’s the best.” Ruki replied, eyeing the table of food. Laito laughed. “Who do you think will win, Subaru-Kun?” “Ah? I don’t know and I don’t care. They’re both idiots for doing somethin’ like this.” Reiji sighed, already mentally preparing remedies to soothe Ayato’s tongue. Kanato giggled and held Teddy up so he could get a better view. “Three, two, one…begin!” The vampire hosting the competition shouted. The crowd cheered as Ayato and Azusa began to eat. Azusa was moving slowly, eating one food at a time, but Ayato was busy cramming multiple foods into his mouth at once. “Looks like Ayato’s having a hard time.” Shu noted. Ayato was sweating and cursing. Azusa looked as if he were enjoying a simple afternoon snack. The vampires in the crowd were talking excitedly. “How does that guy look so calm? That’s the spiciest food in the demon world!” “Look at Karlheinz’s son!” Another vampire laughed. There were tears in Ayato’s eyes from the spice but he was gobbling the food down. Despite his slow pace, Azusa was only a few bites behind Ayato. “Fufu, looks like we underestimated Ayato!” Laito said cheerfully. The crowd screamed as Ayato and Azusa reached for the last few plates. “So noisy.” Kanato pouted. “It’s a tie!” The host called. Ayato’s tongue was swollen but he managed to protest. “What?! How is that possible? No one can beat the great Ayato!” “You both swallowed your last bite at the same time.” The host said. “Bullshit! I want a rematch!” “You both ate up all the food. We can’t possibly make enough for a second round.” “Tch, whatever, at least I didn’t lose.” Ayato turned and saw Azusa, who didn’t seem to be struggling at all with the pain. “Good…job…Ayato…” “Whatever.” “I got…a cake…to celebrate…” Azusa lifted up a small white and pink cake, covered in red dust. “Is that more spice?!” Ayato yelped. “Yeah…I thought…Ayato-Kun…would like…the spice…here…” Azusa tried to feed Ayato the cake but Ayato swatted it away. “No way! The great me is gonna go buy that limited edition takoyaki Shu told me about!” Ayato stormed off. Shu chuckled quietly and Azusa peered up at him questioningly. “There’s no limited edition takoyaki, is there?” Ruki asked. “There is.” Shu said. “But I bought the last batch before I told Ayato about it.”
——————————————————————
I’m really happy with this and I think it’s really funny and I would really really REALLY love to hear your feedback on it!!! I really want to know what you guys think! Even just a few words would really mean a lot ❤️
Also poor Ayato lol

“Siri, why men??”
You shout at your phone and throw it on the couch, waiting for your boyfriend Yuta to come home. You planned to have a nice dinner, making takoyaki and crab fried rice with watermelon for his dessert. He said he would be home by 9pm, and you made an effort to make sure everything was ready by then, and yet it’s going on 9:15, and he still is not home. Every minute that passes, your mood sours, and you have half a mind to give him a verbal lashing whenever he walks through the door.
You thought you knew what you were getting into, dating someone that’s the head of the mafia.  You expected some nights he would come home late, sometimes with bruises from a fight, he got into before or occasionally having to talk from a burner phone. But you were not expecting he would not come home some nights, and you go days without talking to him. To say that dating a mafia guy is stressful is a huge understatement, but you love him and are determined at this point to stick with him, no matter the danger that comes with it. He makes you feel safe, and you haven’t had any troubles with anyone so far. His henchmen know exactly who you are and will come to you at any time you need something. Fortunately, it has not come to that, and you are too independent to ask for help anyway.
You hear the keys jingle, and you walk over to the door, waiting for him to come in so you can give him a piece of your mind. Your anger at him quickly turns into shock when you lay your eyes on him, cuts over his face, and his left cheek bruised up.
“What the fuck Yuta?!” You shouted at him as you pulled him in and set him down on the dining room chair. “What happened?”
“Some folks tried to ambush me while I was leaving the club,” he grunts, placing his hand on his cheek.
“Do you know who it was?” You ask him. You pull out your first aid kit and start applying cream to his bruise.
“Yeah…” Yuta pauses and then looks at you. “We may have to leave town for a few days.”
“Leave town?!” You shout, jumping back.
“It’s not safe right now,” he pleads. “Baby, I don’t want you to get hurt if I’m not here.”
You look at him bewildered, not wanting to believe this is happening right now. You are scared as hell and worried about what will happen to you if you stay. You start pacing back and forth around the kitchen, trying to wrap your mind around what’s happening.
“Y/N,” Yuta calls you calmly. “I would never let anything happen to you. But, you need to trust me okay?”
You sigh heavily and start putting up the food that you made for him. Your anxiety is already at its peak, and your hands start shaking, your heart pounding faster than ever. You feel chills all over your body, and when you look at your arms, you notice they are full of goosebumps. You have this overwhelming feeling of dread, and you feel the air is being snuffed out of you like you are being choked out. Yuta notices your state of being and catches you before you collapse, your vision fading to black...
Tumblr media
He said, "Let's get out of this town
Drive out of the city away from the crowds"
I thought, "Heaven can't help me now"
Nothin' lasts forever…
The song is playing softly from the speaker, bringing me back to the real world. You open your eyes slowly, and you see that you are no longer in my apartment but in the passenger seat of a car. I turn to your left, and Yuta is driving, eyes focused on the road. His expression is unreadable, his soft hair swaying due to the open window. You sit up and clear your throat, wincing your eyes at the bright street lights.
“Hey babe, are you ok?” he asks you, rubbing your leg.
You shrug, still feeling a little hazy from the night before. You take note of the street signs on the freeway, and you see that we are heading out of town.
“You fainted, baby,” he says softly, turning down the music.
“Did I?” You inquire, still perplexed about the night before. “I just remember you telling me we had to leave town, and then  I was putting up the food—”
“Yeah. You passed out shortly after that,” he confirmed.
You sit in silence for a while, listening to the cars whirl by beside you accompanied by the wind from the open window. You think about your job and what excuse you will have to come up with to be excused from work. You think about your family an,d wonder if you will see them again and your heart starts to pound heavily again. You feel claustrophobic and nauseous, not sure what is happening with your body but you know you need to immediately get out of the car.
“Pull over,” you say assertively, unbuckling your seat belt.
“What do you mean pull—”
“STOP THE FUCKING CAR!”
He swerves the car to the far right lane, and you scramble out of the car, trying to regain the breath that you just lost. The driver’s side door slams shut, and you manage to sit up before he walks over to you.
“What the fuck, Y/N?” Yuta shouts. “You can’t just have me pull over on the side of the freeway like this.”
“Yuta, is this what our life is going to be?” You blurt out. “Always on the run? Having to disappear every other day? I don’t know if I can handle this.”
He is taken aback by your sudden confession, sitting down next to you on the pavement. There is a moment of silence with a lot of tension in the air. Finally, he sighs heavily, pulls his long hair out of his face, and turns to face you.
“I wish I could say that this wouldn’t be our life and that I can keep you safe 100% of the time. I wish I could have had a regular job for you and that I could take you on regular dates without having to look over my shoulder. I don’t want to see you cry or make you feel this way. I understand if you want to leave.”
He gives you a kiss on your forehead and gets up, dusting off the dirt off his clothes and pulling the car keys out of his pocket.
“Just.. let me know where you want me to take you.”
He goes back into the car, lighting a cigarette, the strong scent making its way over to your direction. You mull over your options, not sure what to do. You like consistency, and this relationship has been nothing but that. The lonely nights and constant worrying about him, wondering when he walks out of the door if you will ever see him again… It’s tough. But you also love him deeply. When your mom died, he dropped everything to take care of the funeral arrangements. When you got sick with pneumonia, he made sure that you got into the best hospital without paying a dime, even with insurance. He makes you feel safe, and you can be yourself with him. He brings a fire out of you that you never knew you had, and you crave him like a bad habit. Meeting him was destiny; falling in love with him was going to happen anyway. He is your best friend, your twin flame.
Getting up from the gravel, you sit in the car as he just finishes his cigarette. You grab his hand, and he looks at you, and you give him a small reassuring smile.
“I love you, Yuta,” you confess. “I don’t want to go anywhere that you will not be. This.. will be an adjustment for sure. But I’d rather get used to this than not have you at all.”
He leans in and kisses you, your body instantly loosening up, and it ignites an inferno in you that can’t be tamed. You carefully climb over to his lap, pressing your lips against his once more. His hands reach underneath your shirt, pushing your bra up and cusping your breasts. His lips leave yours and move over to nipples, sucking on them softly as you take off your shirt.
He treats them with care, massaging them softly as he sucks your mounds softly. You throw your head back in ecstasy, your core tingling, and you start to grind a little on the friction on his jeans, your skirt rising up, and your soaked panties leaving a tiny spot on his lap.
“I need you,” you say, kissing him deeply.
He lifts you up a little to push down his jeans and reveals his hard dick, pulsing and very veiny. He rubs his thumb along your clit as he lowers you onto him, your walls tightening around him. He wraps his arms around your waist, pumping up into you as you grind your hips to meet his rhythm. Your breasts jump wildly, and you grab his throat, slightly tightening your grip, giving him sloppy wet kisses.
“Baby, you drive me wild,” Yuta moans out. “You mean so much to me. I fucking love you.”
You bounce on him harder, one leg out of the car, not caring if other cars saw you. You two are enthralled in the passion that you are giving each other, moaning sweet things into your ears as you fuck mercilessly on the side of the road. He wraps his arms around you tighter, thrusting into you harder, and you scream out his name as you cum heavily on his lap.
“Don’t stop,” you beg, not letting up. “I need you inside of me please.”
The electricity flows through you as you ride out your orgasm, gripping his hair tightly. Yuta pumps into you harder, his hands grabbing your hips. His eyes roll to the back of his head, biting his lip and moaning your name. He releases into you shortly after and you cum for the second time, kissing each other until he empties himself into you. You get up slowly and go to the backseat, grabbing a box of tissues to clean yourself up. You notice a bouquet of roses in the backseat and a bag full of guns, and you chuckle a little before stepping back out of the car to clean yourself up. You return shortly after, and Yuta is smoking another cigarette, pulling up the GPS on his phone.
“What’s up with the roses?” You inquire, buckling into your seat belt.
“Oh shit!” he exclaims. “I was going to bring those into you, but I ended up getting jumped.”
You shake your head and giggle, believing him and now understanding the crazy life you are about to continue with your best friend.
“Baby, you will be the death of me, I swear.”
He rubs your thigh and turns the ignition, pulling off of the side of the highway. You don’t know yet where you are going, but you know that he’s not far behind where you will be.

Books : Chuuya | Atsushi
Genre : Comfort, romance
Category : Headcanons, short scenario
Shelves : Hardback | Paperback
Warning : Description of grief
Note : I am deeply sorry for your loss. I can’t do emergency requests but I tried to get this one out as fast as I could. I could only do short scenarios of this so I added headcanons, I hope this is alright. Once again, my condolences and please stay strong.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Chuuya has to ask you a couple of worried questions before it strikes him what you’re dealing with.
He will be on the verge of panicking when he first hears the bad news, worse if you're the one that has to tell him what happened. He instantly undergoes flashbacks from experiencing something like this himself and he fears that your coping with the grief might harm you.
If you can’t afford to talk to him like you usually do, he understands.
He stands/sits next to you, arms crossed, occasionally glancing at you to see if there’s any change in your stance, expression, anything.
He avoids staring at you directly in concern that you'd become pressured by him.
He’s ready to catch you if your legs fail you
Holds the top of your head lightly yet firmly. If you don’t show signs of protesting, he’d slowly pull you closer to his neck.
Getting physically affectionate is his prime card to comfort you, but before anything, he takes off his gloves so he won’t dirty you.
His fingers move kind of unevenly and feel rough, but that’s how you can feel his desire to support you
If you can’t stop crying or on the verge to go on a complete mental breakdown, he immediately collides his body against yours as tight and strong as he could.
If your legs give up, he drops down with you in his arms instead of keeping you standing with his ability and he’ll clutch your face close when you both land on the floor.
If you won’t hug him first, he’ll pull you to him. He forces your face down his shoulder so you’d grieve as much as your heart can empty while his hand brushes your back up and down.
“Cry as long as you need,”
Words, as I’ve once said, isn’t his speciality, but he tries regardless. He wants to make sure that you know you aren’t alone, that you have him with you.
He doesn’t talk as much but his distressed expression stays as long as he’s with you.
“You can take it out on my shoulder, you know,” He hesitates a bit, unsure if he sounds too rough.
If you can’t stop crying, he pats your shoulder, only knowing how to say “There, there” since he thinks it’s better than saying nothing at all. Chuuya thinks you need to hear him being there.
Chuuya squeezes through his tight schedule to make time for you.
He negotiates as best as he could with Mori to give him as much time off as possible.
If it’s impossible to take a week off, he goes full rampage in his job with the thought of you in his head motivating him to finish everything as soon as possible, making a mess where he goes.
If someone gets in his way, Chuuya shouts, "I've got someone more important to see, you punk!" while blasting them away.
He always brings food and drink over and makes sure you eat. He spoon-feeds you if necessary. He isn’t the cleanest but him wiping your face clean makes up for that.
"Come on, babe, you gotta eat," Chuuya says. "They won't like seeing you grieving like this, so eat, yeah? For them?"
If the emotions exhaust you to sleep, he sits against the wall and pulls you to him so you’d sleep against his body, making sure his limbs are around you so you’d never feel the loss of pressure around your body.
If it's cold, he wraps you with a blanket and occasionally touches your fingers to know whether you're staying warm or not.
Since Chuuya’s goal is to make sure you don’t feel alone or abandoned as I’ve mentioned, he does everything to solidify his presence.
He calls often if he has to be away, he sends food delivery, leaves short sticky notes, and sends voice messages.
It’s noticeable he doesn’t know what to say and even more obvious that he wants to keep reaching out to you.
Chuuya tries to strike a light and brief conversation once in a while. He’s disturbed by your uncharacteristic silence, it scares him.
“Do you want some takoyaki?” He’d ask randomly. The anxiety on his face never wavers away.
He does any activity that comes to mind when he stays at your place, but regardless of what he does, he’s never more than three feet away from you.
Always, without fail, kisses you good morning and good night on the forehead regardless he stays at your place or not.
Or if you're not opposed to it, Chuuya wants to take you to his place. He may still have to go to work, but something doesn't feel right about leaving you alone for so long in a place he's not too familiar with. At least in his space, you're constantly reminded you're not alone and that you're there because you're never abandoned.

Like a strayed ship in a storming ocean, your emotions are the waves storming your damaged vassal of conscience to the point that even looking forward to sunray from the bleak sky of endless cloud sounds mythical, making speaking a heavy chore. You’ve been exhausting yourself to sleep, soaking everything with your tears until it no longer comes out. It’s frustrating, it’s turbulent, so active in making you passive. Your tears run out but not the multiple stabs around your heart. Your voice leaves you but not the intensity or the transparency of hurt on your face.
It feels impossible, fictional, but if it were, then you aren't supposed to have your heart cauterized. It's the reminder of the bitter truth you're grappling against accepting.
If they had to go, why not bring the pain with them? Why do they have to leave you fractured, incomplete, empty, by transcending away while you stay behind, only able to watch them shrink somewhere unreachable?
Why do pieces of you have to be chipped off your already fragile soul, leaving holes in your essence? Why leave many pieces behind, why leave you alone?
“Hey,” A voice zaps your mind back to your head.
You remove your face from your wrinkled, moist, and sweaty palms, everything in front of you foggy from the swelling of your eyes. You still wear your dark clothes, unable to find the heart to change into something new, something brighter, after the sudden tragedy strikes. It was not, and still not is, in your capability to even stand up to eat.
Chuuya’s oddly timid and soft-sounding voice for this week is what makes you feel something other than rocking instability.
Slightly opening your eyes to see him, his figure before you hurts your eyes from how colourful he is. His face appears like a messy mix of vibrant paint, his orange hair, blue eyes and fair skin, and dark clothes sticking out from the stale background behind him.
A pair of silver keys, ones that unlock your door, stand out from his black-gloved hand from beneath his tightened fist. He puts it in his pocket and takes your hands, forcing you to stand and steadies your arms when your knees wobble.
"Have you eaten the lunch I had delivered here?" He pats off the dust from your shoulders and arms, his vibrant face still paining your swollen eyes.
Your eyes roll to the untouched paper bag on the table. You figure Chuuya’s eyes follow because of the stifled sigh he holds in.
"Babe, come on…"
"I can't," is what you try to say, although with your dry throat, it comes out like scorched empty words. "I'm sorry, I know you picked it with great care and thoughts so I'd eat, but I just can't, not when—" You catch a coarse breath. "Not when I'm like this, I can't yet."
"Still don't want to talk about it?" His voice squeezes. "You can't keep it in forever, you know, and you really shouldn't."
With your blurry vision, you figure that his arms extend open. A weak ‘what?’ is all you can hoarsely ask.
“Saying nothing, skipping meals and not drinking.” He says sourly. “Let out your grieve like how it should be done. That's what they'd want too."
Your tears make a reappearance at either a bad or perfect timing, depends on how you tilt your head to see it. They prickle your eyes, some rushing down your face.
“Come here,” Chuuya says, perhaps frowning from the way his voice changed.
Your eyes close slowly before opening again, your puffed eyelids troubling you from keeping your eyes opened. “I don’t think I can,” You sound like an overworked opera singer. “If I hug you, I won’t be able to let go and I might suffocate you without meaning to.”
You think Chuuya makes a sound of annoyance until a force smashes your body forward, lunging your face against him. The brief faint glow of orange earlier helps you process that he used his ability on you to bring you to him. Now his arms trap you in him, your forehead strongly weighted on his shoulder.
“Then suffocate me,” His muffled voice says from behind your head, one of his hands taking your arm to hold his body. “I’m always here.”
Your hands stretch his shirt with your tight clasp as you feel yourself getting lost in the waves. The turbulence crashes out from within you as you incoherently cry on Chuuya’s stable body, him becoming your guaranteer in the midst of the rocking forces that threaten your balance. His rigid arms support your weight as you wail out, ensuring that the waves don’t sweep you away, somewhere unreachable from him. He secures you, letting you explore the storm’s rolling waves while still grounding you safe.
“I’m here,” The soft wind in the storm grazes your ear. “I promise.”

Atsushi is one of the most sympathetic and empathetic people you could ask for when it comes to comfort you through your grief.
He’s nowhere oblivious to someone who’s hurting. He recognizes what kind of pain you’re going through and it doesn’t take him too long to identify what you’re feeling and the intensity of it although he can’t process it into words.
Atsushi is so worried sick for you that he has trouble thinking straight and his breaths get faster.
He’s really anxious about you feeling left behind or abandoned.
He makes sure that you don’t doubt that your beloved one who has to leave earlier definitely loves you.
It breaks him if you think of things such as disappointing them, unable to fulfil their wishes, etc.
Atsushi can feel your hurt as if it’s his own, and because of his heightened emotional senses, he’s quick to jump in to support you. It’s instinctive.
He’s at first hesitant to touch you, let alone comfort you with his embrace, so he starts with generic sentences like “I’m so sorry” and “You can lean on me” while offering his empty shoulder
It’s challenging for him, but Atsushi is persistent to comfort you with his words before he touches you.
He insists on speaking before holding you around him.
Atsushi validates your feelings by putting his guesses of how you’re currently feeling into words. He’s not the best with words so he’ll struggle to pick his vocabulary, but the things he says are mostly true.
“I’m sorry you have to feel like your heart is becoming stiff,”
“If you feel like everything around you is empty, I’m still here,”
When he does get to the point where he feels that physical touch can help you, Atsushi is very tender.
He starts with wiping your tears away until your cheeks are drier and offers you tissues. He’ll help you blow your nose
He removes the hair sticking to your face and wipes your face until you’re dry
He hugs you like he's the one broken; putting his face on your shoulder, arms hanging from your neck. It's because that he fears that you might get as hopeless as him. He dreads for that for that happen so he holds you with the strongest Affirmation he can give.
"I'm with you, I'll always be," He keeps repeating while he hugs you.
Touches your fingers most of the time and squeezes your hand
Atsushi fights tooth and nail to get several days off to stay with you in your place. He’ll have a whole speech prepared so he can convince Fukuzawa and Kunikida
He’ll spend the morning bargaining with Fukuzawa in his office after giving Kunikida a 15 minute TED talk about how badly he can empathize with your loss and how he’s rock certain you need his company
He asks Kyouka to help him make your food that’s easy to digest for the stomach, like soup and porridge. You can best bet that she’s going to add some tofu to it.
“Kyouka-chan helped me make this fish soup,” Atsushi presents you the bento boxes, unwrapping the cloth. “Let’s eat, okay? You have to keep your stomach filled. I’ll help you.”
If he’s unable to spend the night at your place, Atsushi makes sure to arrive at 6 am sharp every day to check on you, and the earliest he’ll leave is around 8 o’clock
He cleans your place every day diligently and does an excellent job at it. Doing the dishes, cleaning the floor, making sure the sink is clean and ensures the bathroom floor isn’t slippery. He doesn’t want an untaken care living space to worsen your emotional state.
Despite always bringing fresh food, Atsushi makes sure to cook fresh batches of rice to eat with anything he delivers so if you miraculously want to eat something, you’ll have something to consume.
If he has to leave for a while, he surrounds you with plush toys. If you don't have any, he borrows Kyouka's bunny plushies collection and arranges them around you, your pillow, the corner of your bed, and on your blanket.
Atsushi never wants you to forget that your loved one loves you. He does everything in his power to remind you everyday that although they're gone, the love they have for you will eternally stay with you and that nothing can ever change that.
He hugs you while verbally reminding you of that.
His hugs always lasts a long while if you're not uncomfortable with it. He can stay long minutes in that position.
Or he sits/lays down next to you in silence, doing absolutely nothing. He's anxious about the quietness himself so his fingers are always near yours.
Words of affirmation randomly comes out. Sometimes he talks about his personal experience to encourage you that everything will be alright, sometimes he tells you the reasons to his belief why your loved one's love for you preserves through all.
He keeps his talks motivational and faithful for the future. Sometimes he'd quote the things Dazai had said to him, filtering out the nonsense if necessary, or the things he always told himself in hope for a brighter tomorrow.

A breathing doll has been haunting your room for a week. It blinks, it moves, it can be spoonfed, but nobody at a glance would argue that it lives. It’s a doll. Calling it an undead is more generous than calling it a doll because of the existing needs. A doll sits inanimately, breathes at the bare minimum, and is devoid of wants and needs.
It’s the perfect status to illustrate how corpse-like you’ve been living like for this week. Your stone-cold face, just as cold fingers, eyes that barely shift, dried mouth and chapped lips make it a challenge to have you described as something living. To even use the word ‘live’ to describe you is contradictory and to hear the word ‘live’ suffocates your throat and clamps your once functioning heart. The indescribable pain mutes you, paralyzes you, turning you doll-like.
A broken doll, you are, once full, once living and moving until the one you love had to bid life farewell first without warning.
One tireless and loyal white-haired boy frequents you every day, bearing food and water to make sure the living doll in your room doesn’t fade into the cold. Cobwebs would have formed between your arms and your bed if he didn’t clean you off the filth you don’t bathe away, your nerves have been too dormant for you to feel filthy.
A bright white figure shifts around in front of you like a poltergeist. You pay it no mind. This isn't the first or second time you're seeing things that aren't there, or rather, someone who isn't supposed to be here. Your cluelessness to cope with the grave reality seems to have driven your brain on autopilot, it seems that this time it decides to give you a hallucination so you'd have someone to cling to.
A sudden snap startles your eyes to open wider, albeit without focus. Something black was in front of you, it had five branches and moves so... humanly. Like it's real. You trace it back to the white hallucination in front of you and it takes you a while to realise that you aren't hallucinating. The white haired boy who has been frequenting your place is here again today.
"Atsushi..." His name falls emptily through your teeth.
Atsushi’s mouth opens and his lips move in accordance. His face wrinkles to the centre. The inconsistent pressure he applies around your cold hand before holding you as tight as now tells you of how fragile he knows you are.
His mouth opens again familiarly. You shift your eyes to him without any effort to listen through the incoherent sound.
When his lips move for the third time, you figure out he has been calling your name. You blink twice and his chest deflates with a long exhale.
“You’ll pull through,” His hold around your hand boldens as he grit his teeth. “They had to depart first but they did so while loving you. You're loved, they love you. You can use that to push on, their love for you lives on and so do your memories of them.”
He observes you with high intensity as if expecting you to speak. You notice the disappointment when all your eyes do is gaze hollowly through him. You think he breathes in a sob from the sudden squeak he makes.
Your eyes lazily roll to follow your hand Atsushi lifts to put against his face. “I’m with you, I'll always will be. You’re not alone, you’re not alone, you’re not alone.” He chants. “You’re never alone, you’re never alone.”
He brings your hand down against his chest. Something beats inside to hammer you the reminder that it will never stop thrumming. The warmth reminds your nerves of something. It feels contagious, bringing you recollecting something you used to feel often.
“I promise, I promise, I promise,” Atsushi hurriedly says, “I’ll always be here for you.”
Like a mantra, his words deliver the familiar sensation his chest makes you feel to your essence. After your slowed blink, you tilt down your head and tilt back up, repeating that movement until it’s fitted to be called a nod. Atsushi heaves a breath out and pulls your hand to get between his arm and side until your upper body drops against his.
“They watch over you, I promise,” His hand holds your head as you passively breathe on his shirt. "Anytime and anywhere, they're with you, and so am I.” He says airily. "You're never alone and never will be. They're with you and I'm staying forever, you'll never see your side empty, I promise they watch over you, I promise, I promise, I promise,"
Your head tilts to the side, giving more space to breathe. His solid body exudes more of the feeling you don’t realize you crave. It reaches your throat eventually, nourishing you with words you once lost.
"Thank you," You whisper.
A living doll you temporarily are but not forever, and most certainly, a loved human you are for as long as the memory of your beloved and Atsushi keep you close to them.

Muzan x reader ~ Lily
This is a song fanfiction on the song Lily by Alan Walker, k-391 and Emelie hollow. This story is inspired by the Japanese legend of yamato no orochi. I might do a second part as well. It's my first ever fanfiction so please excuse my mistakes.
Warning : mention of slight gore and blood
Enjoy

Lily was a little girl
Every decade on the night of full moon the first born female child of (L/n) clan are sent as bride to a powerful demon named Akai lurking on the mountain of Akakura which was believed to be inhabited by oni from ancient times. Your great grandfather and his then pregnant wife was attacked by that demon although on their constant begging and vows of servicing to the demon he spared their lives but on one condition that was they needed to send him one girl from their household every decade on this very full moon night. Your sisters and aunts, who you never get to see were presented to that oni. You being the oldest daughter of your family was nominated as the bride this year.
Afraid of the big wide world
When you first get to know about this, you were absolutely terrified and angry of the idea to be separated from your parents and siblings in order to serve your duty as a bride to that potentially harmful demon who you knew would devour you as you never saw any of your elder sisters or aunts come back therefore it was nothing but a human sacrifice in your judgment and being a child it horrified you, often causing nightmares of the said demon. From a very tender age you were brainwashed that the outside world was a dangerous place and it consists of unknown creatures lurking around the earth's surface with the sole purpose of causing grave harm to people. Being a child you were easily convinced but as you grew older your curiosity got the best of you as well as the urge for understanding the outside world became a necessity.
She grew up within her castle walls
Now and then she tried to run
And then on the night with the setting sun
She went in the woods away
So afraid, all alone.
As a child most of the time you were confined inside the four walls of your room, you were not allowed to go out unless required. There were servants who tended you day and night. It was necessary because the child for the sacrifice should be flawless in every aspect and most importantly healthy or else great catastrophe would fell upon your family. Sometimes you wish you were a sick person. That doesn't mean you didn't try to run away from home. Every now and then you tried escaping from your residence and one time during sunset you were successful in escaping, that was for the first time you went out from your house, you ran miles and miles away, bare foot. For the first time in life you were so far away from home you never imagined this day might come. The softness of the green grass beneath your feet, the fresh air lingering in the atmosphere made your heart giddy. As you stopped running for a while you encountered the sight of a city in which there were lots of people gathering around the street, both men, women and children of your age wearing lavish clothing and accessories, you have zero social interaction skills, servents being an exception even your parents also were not available all the time, on top of that you were timid and young, this overwhelming crowd of unknown people startled you which was honestly frightening but you were determined. Therefore you brush off your worries in order to explore the city, you were happened to be in the middle of a festival, which you seem to know since your servants who served under (L/n) family often talk about such festivals obviously they are not allowed to discuss such things infront of you but somehow you managed to eavesdrop and acquire information. Festivals are truly majestic, it was way better than the stories you have heard from the maids at your residence. It was colourful, lively, cheerful, loud nothing like the world you are used to see. There were various stalls consisting of items like jewelry, cloths that are being displayed on the street, on both sides of the road. The the smell of hot dishes like yakisoba, Takoyaki and ikayaki from different stalls hitting your nostrils making your mouth watery. As you were wandering around aimlessly, admiring the lighting and beauty of the festival, you bumped into a bunch of drunk men, you quickly turned away to apologize but a man with rough demeanor pulled your arm and started throwing curses at your way which definitely made you uncomfortable as you looked around to ask for help but none of them responded or came to your aid.
"look where you walking, brat!"
"I am sorry, please forgive me" you were not accustomed to such rude behavior as your maids and servants and even your family members were gentle towards you which was likely because you came from a very wealthy family. Which was quite visible by those men by the way you dressed, expensive (f/c) kimono wrapped around your figure made with the finest silk in the country and the gold hair pin tucked in your smooth (h/c) hair.
They warned her, don't go there
There's creatures who are hiding in the dark.
"What's with the hurry miss, join us for a bit?" With that said from the other guy, your eyes widened, you tried your best not to cry, they warned me your mind started to race with the worst case scenario as you started to remind your parents word about the outside world but you came back to your senses as they yanked you down the alley. Your heartbeat increasing rapidly, sweat covering your (s/c) countenance, your mind was going blank but you snapped out from your thoughts as you noticed the man's arm closed to your face without wasting any time you bit the man harshly causing him to drop your hand, taking advantage of that situation you ran towards the opposite direction earning screams and curses from behind. You didn't try looking back but you knew they were chasing you from behind. You stumble across the way as never in your life you ran so fast and somehow manage to get into the wood. Being exhausted and breathless you collapsed onto the ground. The sound of footsteps growing lounder as they were approaching you, tears stared to form up in your face am I going to die?
"Found you kitten" one of the drunkards chasing you commented, grabbing a handful of your (h/l)(h/c) hair roughly, lifting you up from the ground, then he took out a knife from his pocket and brought that near your neck in order to create a minor cut which begun bleeding instantly. You screamed in pain but no words came out from your mouth, you felt completely defeated and tired. There was no hope. You felt as if you were going to die but you didn't want to. Yet.
Then something came creeping
It told her, don't you worry just-
Suddenly rustling of leaves and bushes were heard from afar which caught you and the rest suprised.
"Who's there?" The man holding you shouted but complete silence was observed. This pissed off the man even more and he shouted angrily this time with more intensity.
"Come out or I will kill this girl in this instance" no sooner did the words left the man's mouth than he saw you were out of his sight and standing before him was a slender pale man in his late twenties having remarkable dark curly hair and plum red eyes contrasting his features sharply. He was holding you firmly but gently in his arm.
"How did you-"
You saw his eyes glowing under the moonlight pointing directly towards those men, his glare was deadly and menacing which could make anyone fall on their knees. One of the men began to charge towards you but his attempt went futile because the man holding you kicked the man with such immense strength that he went flying over the air and died a painful death crashing loudly against the ground snapping his neck in the process. The other man in feat of pure rage tried to punch that mysterious man but his head exploded due to the pressure of that raven hair blocking his attack. The other man who watched all of that fainted. It was a gruesome scene for you to witness but you tried your best not to cry because the man infront of you just saved your life.
"Thank you mister for saving my life, I thought I was going to die if it were not you I'd be dead, I appreciate your help" your voice still shaking, you lowered your head and then look up for the first time his red orbs met your (e/c) ones. The moonlight reflected through the branches of the trees made you see his face clearly, you have not interacted with men before except your father, siblings and uncles so being closed with a man this handsome made you a little nervous. You could feel your blood rush through your cheeks. Seeing you nervous made him chuckle slightly, he gently put you down on the ground from his arm.
Follow everywhere I go
"A young girl like you should not be roaming around in the woods late at night, there are a lot of people and creatures having full intent to hurt fragile beings like yourself" he spoke to you with his calm, monotonous voice.
"Yes you are right mister and I apologize for causing you trouble but I really needed to come out" you replied with a soft hum. Which made that man curious.
"Is that so? What's your name child?"
"My name is (y/n)(l/n), and yours?"
"Muzan kibutsuji"
A perfect chance for him to devour this girl which was driving him crazy because of the aroma she was emitting, he can take full advantage of this situation, there was no way in hell this girl could protect herself as minutes ago she was cowering with fear and misery, how pathetic he thought.
"I was meaning to say this for a long time now kibutsuji san you have the most beautiful pair of eyes, it's very unique, I am glad to meet you" the sudden compliment coming from you widened his eyes. He have been living for a thousand years now both humans and his underlings alike are scared of him even his demons admire and respect him out of fear. All of them knew how ruthless, manipulative, egoistic and deceitful this man is but this girl shows her genuine gratitude towards him even though she is vulnerable and exposed. What a clueless human he thought letting her guard down to none other but the dangerous Muzan kibutsuji. There was pure innocence in her voice and glowing admiration in her eyes, gleaming with positive energy which evoked strong emotions in all his seven hearts that were stoned ever since he abandoned his humanity.
"Its dangerous for you to go back alone let me escort you home" the demon replied which you gladly accepted. For now.
Muzan held your hand tightly as the two of you began to walk out from the forest and enter the town again, talking on the way, learning about each other.
"How old are you (y/n) chan?"
"I am 13 years old, kibutsuji san"
"Muzan will be fine, (y/n)"
"Sure Muzan!" You smiled enthusiastically, you enjoyed his company as you were not allowed to have friends it made your heart flutter with an unexpected feeling of warmth. You wanted to clinge on it. Never in your life you felt so secure and content.
Top over the mountains or valley low
"Say (y/n), why did you ran away from home?" Muzan asked
"I don't want to get sacrificed to the oni" you replied with sudden drop to your voice. Muzan stopped walking and looked down at you with concern written over his face, he didn't know why he was acting this way but there was this sudden urge to keep you safe, the thought of seeing you suffer made him somewhat sick to his stomach.
"What oni?" He asked this time holding your shoulders gently, he could say you were scare to talk about this but somehow you felt at ease around him which you never felt towards anyone, you started to trust him even though you just met him.
"There has been an old tradition in my family for generations, every decade on the night of full moon the first born female child of our family is sacrificed to the oni living on the mountain of akakura for last 50 years, I am next in line that's why I was running away, I am not ready to die" you replied almost sobbing
Give you everything you've been dreaming of
Just let me in
"Once I attain the age 18, I will too be send to the oni as his bride" tears came rolling down your cheek, the demon lord can sense your terror which you were trying to hide. What a pitiful creature, I shall be your savior he thought to himself.
"You are a brave girl, I admire your inner strength (y/n)" he cupped your face with his arms, caressing your features softly brushing away the tear drop forming in your eyes.
"I don't know for how long" you replied smiling a bit. appreciating his effort to soothe your anxiety.
Everything you want in gold, I'll be the magic story you've been told
Everything was good until you heard your name coming across the other end of the street, it was two of your servants and your uncle approaching both you and Muzan. The look in your face suddenly changed to that of a drastic one, the slight flush which covered your countenance few seconds ago was gone and was replaced with a pale look similar to that of muzan's. It was evident to the demon from your expressions that it was rather unpleasant for you even though they seem to know you and by judging the looks of your uncle, he figured you two are related.
"Where have you gone milady?" One of your maid came rushing towards you, but you hid behind muzan's back averting your gaze from the maiden and your uncle. As you could feel an intense glare coming from him. Thanks to your uncle you are in great trouble now.
"My name is (u/n)(L/n), this girl's uncle, I apologize on behalf of my niece for causing you trouble" the (h/c) hair man said to muzan.
"I am Tsukihiko kibutsuji, Do not worry about that and (y/n) didn't create any disturbance" it would be a bit suspicious to you that why muzan lied to your uncle about his real name if he didn't mention he was a demon earlier when you two were conversing and he needs to hide his identity in order to survive.
"Thank you so much for your help, (L/n) family will owe you for this" he bowed to muzan showing his gratitude towards him while glancing at you with the corner of his eyes.
"You here young lady, I hope you won't run away like this you could have just asked our servants or me if you really wanted to go out that badly, you have made your mother worried sick" the man cooed directing towards you.
𝚕𝚒es you thought You'd never let me go out, you are only behaving nicely because of muzan.
"(Y/n)" the soothing voice hit your ears and you looked up to see muzan "you must go back home, as your uncle stated they must be really worried, right?"
You felt really defeated but you decided to let go of him, he already saved you from a great disaster. It would be selfish of you to ask for more but you really hoped he'd help. Before you headed back you asked turning your head back at his direction.
And you'll be safe under my control
"We will still be friends right?" Muzan was taken aback friends? He thought a genuine smile appearing on his face. He nodded at you which made you sigh with relief and then you waved goodbye to him in the hope of seeing him again someday, your first friend.
"Yes (y/n), we will meet again"
Just let me in, ooh.

The Miys, Ch. 139
Day Two of the Food Festival!  This one has a specific request from @baelpenrose, which was fun to play with in the Low-Stim session (always on day 2).
To everyone who has reached out to tell me how much they are enjoying getting to see Sophia actually relax and just have fun for once.... Y’all are the best! It’s been fun writing it, too.
New reader shout outs go to @corvallis, @penguin--person, @amphibiousuprising, @chip5-0, and I think @lostsoul8822. I think that’s everyone... If I missed you, please DM me, and I’ll add you to the next chapter.
On with the show!
The first day of the Festival, Conor and I ended up staying through not only Maverick’s shift but the one after, just so we could drag him to our favorite spots. Day two, however, Conor was on deck as Support Personnel as well as Maverick, and neither were assigned to me - for the first half of day two, we were in the Low Stim Mode, so I was pretty sure I could brave it on my own with everyone else’s proximity alerts and my own personal hyper-alertness preventing accidental bumps.
For me, the most exciting part was the different foods offered, and the fact that I could focus on just the food. Not having to ignore the other stimuli was a completely relaxing experience. The visual of the mural, with everything present, was still completely different in the even, indirect lighting. The dual nature of it was toned down significantly, leading to the overall feel being softer and overall more pleasant without being distracting.
Halfway through a very good pad thai, I spotted Derek and Sam sitting with Ivan and poking at something that Sam was clearly excited about and Derek was equally doubtful of. I circled around so they could see me approaching, and made a point to wave. “What do you think?” I asked, trying to sign as I spoke but hampered by the food in my hands.
“It was a good try,” Derek confessed, cheeks stuffed with something that had previously been on a plate to his left as a backup plan.
Setting my food down, I grinned mischievously. “Doing my best,” I signed, leading to laughter on all sides.
“You just told him you do him the best,” Ivan murmured, my face immediately flooding red.
“That is NOT what I meant,” I tried to explain out loud, over-enunciating while I clenched my hands in embarrassment.
To his credit, Derek signed what he seemed to understand I meant, emphasizing each sign. It was clear that I had gotten several out of order and added one that changed everything overall.
After repeating the signs and getting confirmation, I shook my head and sighed dramatically. “I tried.”
Ivan was trembling with laughter. “You. You did,” he admitted. “But that was… wow.” His head dropped on his hands as he shook silently.
“Souffle pancakes?” I offered, finger spelling the word souffle since I had no freaking clue how to actually sign it.
“Egg pancake,” Derek explained, poking the one I offered and contemplating the jiggle.
“It’s cinnamon sugar, and not gooey,” I explained.
Apparently I got that one right, because Derek immediately stabbed a piece and shoved it in his mouth.  The only judgement I needed was the fact that he dragged the entire remaining pancake onto his plate.
Sam watched his roommate before contemplating his own sample. Before he could even ask, I held up a cup full of macerated berries. “And fruit topping for you, sir.”
“Are those my berries?” he asked, skeptical.
I shook my head. “Bog standard, from the consoles. Your vegetables and fruits are being used in the other shifts. We didn’t want to give anyone here unexpected tastes.”
He nodded and dumped the entire cup of fruit over his pancake, digging in happily.
Ivan batted his eyes at me until I explained. “Sam’s produce has… unexpected pairings. Tomatoes that pair with cheesecake and wines, strawberries that really go well with steak…”
“The mango that goes with beer but not fish?”
“Yeah, that one. Von soil does strange things to produce, turns out.”
“Those matcha-edamame are amazing though.”
“For ice cream, yes. For tea, less so. They’re like… cooking matcha, almost.” I laughed. They actually worked better for ice cream than matcha did, oddly - reducing the sugar content but still giving the same flavor.
“One vendor on the last day is using nothing but my produce,” Sam announced happily. “They asked my permission.”
“That’s good!” I encouraged him. “They should always ask your permission to do things like that.”
“People ask with requisition forms,” he agreed. “Mona asked in person.”
Note to self: much more patronage at Mona’s normal spot, I swore in my head.  She specialized in vegetarian dishes, and honestly made some of the best fried cabbage I’d had in my life.  Knowing that she was so considerate of Sam cemented her as my new favorite takeaway place.
After a little more chat, I finally waved my goodbyes to everyone and strolled slowly to the next tempting stall. I wasn’t really in any hurry, and did more people-watching than I did eating. Latkes were infinitely more interesting when I could overhear people arguing over family recipes.  A small bowl of udon was delicious, but not nearly as flavorful as the discussion around hot versus cold, what to top them with, egg or no egg… the only thing anyone seemed to agree on was that the smiling vendor ‘obviously’ ground their own flour, because the flour provided by the consoles was the wrong texture.
Another mental note: don’t learn to make udon.  Despite what I had previously believed, it takes a lifetime to make it right, turns out.
Wandering further down, I was delighted by the discovery of something that was very clearly Hannah’s doing: demonstrations of older food prep techniques.  Simon winked at me as he carried on a demonstration of - insanely - how to hand pull toffee. I didn’t know he could do that. Muna was demonstrating the correct way to make chapatis and handing them out as fast as she was making them. Clearly, she had been making them her whole life, because at no point did I actually see her look at them, but every single one was perfect.
Laughter erupted over my shoulder, and I whipped my head around to see the source. After wading through a crowd of smiling faces, I couldn’t help but join in.  There, right in front of the entire Ark, was Maverick trying to flip takoyaki as fast as the person demonstrating, and ending up with just a mess of octopus and batter on his side.  Both Maverick and the person guiding him were smiling, though, and in the end, the vendor handed Maverick four perfectly-round balls and quickly devoured all of the - less shapely, so to speak - ones on my partner’s side.  With an exuberant cheer and extending his arms wide to the crowd, the man exclaimed “The first takoyaki of a new student are always my favorite! Nothing tastes better!”
After bowing to his sensei, Maverick turned and spotted me, face still flushed with laughter.  He offered his food to a smaller man I did not recognize, who must have been the person Maverick was Supporting, before waving to me and continuing on.  Despite the urge to crush him in a hug, I forced my feet to stay in place and reminded myself that he was working.
By the time I trusted myself not to race after him, I realized someone had been trying to get my attention and had resorted to messaging me rather than shouting. “Phee, I don’t know what la-la land you are lost in, but look 100 yards to your four.”
The hell was Arthur doing here? He wasn’t scheduled to work this shift, as far as I was aware.  Craning my neck over my shoulder, I turned to see… Apparently a hallucination. It had to be.  There was no chance in any of the nine hells that Arthur Farro was dishing out spaghetti, much less smiling while doing it.
Almost dreamlike, I found myself drifting over to confirm that I was wrong, only to be startled when he shoved a plate with not only spaghetti but two gorgeous pieces of garlic bread under my nose. “Special plates, you can’t smell anything unless it’s on purpose.”
“You… Spaghetti?” I asked, eloquent as ever.
“Family recipe.”
“Leaning into the stereotype a bit, aren’t you?” I asked carefully before shoving as much of one thick, crusty piece of toast in my mouth as I could.
He shook his head. “Anyone who tells you their family is Italian and denies having a family recipe for anything is a damned liar.”
Skeptically, I took a bite. It was amazing. “Ah ee deh rehahee,” I tried to get out around the heap of pasta I was steadily shoving in my mouth.
“Maverick is a very bad influence on your table manners,” he observed drily, plating more portions and handing them out. “And no. Not happening.”
“You know I can cook.”
“Not the point. I also know that you will fiddle with it until it is unrecognizable, so there’s really no point in giving it to you.”
Defiantly, I took a smaller bite and chewed carefully. “Garlic, onions, obviously. Sausage and minced… Lamb? But that’s probably just for this session, knowing you it’s spicy sausage regularly.  I’m not getting carrot, though, so no soffritto? Unexpected…. Is that thyme, I’m tasting?”
“Rosemary, you heathen. And you’re still wrong.”
I mumbled to myself. “What did I get wrong? It’s gotta be the lamb… maybe he does usually use the lamb? I’m certain it is lamb…”
“It is lamb, and no, I don’t usually use it. But you left several things out.”
I stared at the plate again, confused. “I didn’t think I needed to mention the tomatoes….”
“Basil… oregano….” he drawled.
“Duhhh?” I poked through the last bite on my plate, sniffing it, trying to figure out what I was missing. “Fine, you win, I’m lost.”
“Mushrooms, Sophia. There’s mushrooms. Jeezus. It was an easy one, too.”  He showed me a bowl full of what looked like cooked and crumbled sausage, only for me to realize it was the tiniest diced mushrooms I had ever seen in my life.
“I am dying to know how you got them that small.”
“With a knife?” He arched an eyebrow at me as he turned to start another batch of sauce.
“Yeah, no shit, Arthur.”
“Correct, there is no shit in the spaghetti,” he confirmed cheekily as the vegetables started sizzling.
“Asshole,” I laughed, scraping the remaining sauce from my plate with the piece of bread I saved just for that purpose. Just as I was frowning at the sauce-less plate and remaining half-piece of bread, a scalding hot dollop of fresh sauce invaded my vision.
“You love me, because I won’t let you frown at your bread like that.”
Fiiiinnnne I sighed in my head as I shoved a piece of saucy, saucy bread into my cheeks and waggled my fingers to let him get back to work.

Tumblr media
A far off ticking of a clock seemed to annoy the silence of your apartment as you sat at the cleaned surface of the island counter in your kitchen, a note pad before you as you scribbled items down, pausing to get up and look into the fridge or the cabinets to make sure you wouldn’t forget to add anything to your weekly grocery list. You knew that if you didn’t have it on that trusted list that rest on the counter, it wouldn’t have been bought until the next time you would prepare to go shopping again. Though your scrounging around in one of the cabinets was cut short as your phone began to blare with some corny ringtone that your son had set for you and you didn’t have the heart to change it, but the sudden loudness still gave you a fright, your body seeming to start to fall downward into the floor, but you had caught yourself before the activation of your permeation quirk.
“I need to ask Mirio to set that thing lower..” you huffed out as you rushed over to the counter space where your phone sat, grabbing ahold of it and quickly answering it, though the voice on the other end didn’t give you a chance to say hello.
“Hey mom! Can you pick up me and Tamaki from our work study agencies? It’s raining and Tamaki is coming over anyway today and I also may have forgot my umbrella......” Loudly spoke out your son through the phone. “And I also may have not packed a jacket either like you tell me too....” Upon looking out the window, you gasped as you had finally seemed to notice the downpour of rain outside.
“Mirio! When will you ever get that head screwed onto your head! Your first day and you aren’t even prepared for a rainstorm?” You teased as you had reached your free hand down to push in the stool you once sat on, already shimmying into a rain coat, keys jingling within your hands, umbrella tucked away under your arm.
“Thanks mom! Love you mom!” And an over dramatic kiss noise was made and the call was ended, leaving you to only let out a laugh as you shove away your cellular device. Though you let out a little gasp as you rushed back to the kitchen, grabbing a few juice boxes and snacks before finally making your way back to the front door, shoes placed onto your feet and umbrella at the ready.
Tamaki was first on your list to save from the downpour of rain. You always adored the sweet, shy boy, from when he was just a mere child until now. You could recall those days where Mirio and him would have their sleepovers and he would be too shy to ask for a glass of water or where to hang his coat or place his shoes out of the way. Over the years though he pushed a bit out of his shell, grown a bit more comfortable around you thanks to all the years of knowing you, not all the way completely, but it was enough for you, but most importantly Tamaki was just simply perfect the way he was as a person for Mirio to consider him his best friend and most prized confidante. That was a beautiful thing to know and to see. You were pulled out from your memories of the young boy now turned young man as you finally parked outside the agency. Thankfully you were familiar with the two boys’ agencies by the constant chatter that was always going on within your home about it and Mirio made sure to write them down for you and placed it on the fridge.
“Fatgum agency.....” you mumbled out as you leaned forward to peer up at the building through your windshield through the heavy splatters of rain that pelted your window, but you took now time to brace yourself with your umbrella at the ready, hood pulled over and tightened onto your head as you shoved the car door open, umbrella now over your head as you slammed the door shut and raced for the entrance, bursting in through the doors with a sigh of relief, umbrella drawn closed. Right there standing off to the side, with someone else who strangely looked like the front of the building, seemingly trying to slouch away from the world was Tamaki. A grin crawled onto your lips as you stepped up to him, giving him a tight squeeze “How was your first day? Look at you all grown up...” you gushed out, pulling away to see the bright blush that was upon his cheeks, already twiddling with his fingers “Don’t worry, you can tell me on the way to get Mirio.” You said assuringly as you handed him the umbrella in your hand.
“Is this your mother?” Soon spoke up the man that was with him, a shocked look upon his face as he looked to you. Tamaki only nervously shook his head no, looking expectingly to you. You were all too familiar with that look in his eyes. You took it upon yourself to explain.
“Oh no, but I wish I was! He’s such a sweet and talented boy. He and my son are long time best friends and I’m here to simply pick him up and along with my son from his work studies to avoid that storm out there.” You said, vibrant smile plastered onto your face, your words ended with an equally vibrant giggle as you wrapped an arm around Tamaki’s shoulders, he only giving his shy nods to your words. “We don’t want our future heroes getting sick!” You said as you looked down to Tamaki and soon back up to the other. Tamaki seemed to gulp down a bit of his nervousness and fear to finally speak out quietly.
“Ms.Togata...this is Fatgum, the hero of this agency....” He finally got out, you letting your hand softly pat his back in encouragement and of also pride at him overcoming his nervousness and fear for that single sentence. You gave a little bow to the hero upon the introduction, he returning it back, but that almost shocked expression seemed to still bit etched upon his face. He probably would have been more fearful of you though if you were Tamaki’s mother because of the fact he found your drop dead gorgeous. It was shocking to say the least, to have someone such as yourself standing before him and the absence of a ring also only made matters worse for his nerves.
“Nice to meet you Fatgum, but I really need to go pick up my son and plus I got you and Mirio juice boxes and I don’t want them to get hot and sweat everywhere.” You said with a glance to Tamaki before looking up to the humongous hero before you, but despite him towering over you....he was cute along with the grin that now stretched across his face. With that you were guiding out Tamaki from the agency, now running back to the car, Tamaki taking the liberty to sit in the front seat, which years ago he would have NEVER even thought about doing such a thing, juice box already in his hands, sipping away. What can he say....a juice box shall forever be greatness within his eyes.
“Fatgum and I went on patrol earlier...he eats a lot...” he spoke out quietly as he watched the windshield wipers move back and forth in their fast rhythms. You glanced over at him before looking back down to the street.
“Oh yeah? Well, I guess then the two of you kind of have something in common.” You pointed out with a laugh as you turned down a road, soon the crinkling of a bag of crackers sounded as Tamaki took the liberty to grab one to eat, years ago though he would have been simply too nervous to do so.
“Yes....but all I’ve eaten with him are octopus takoyaki...” he said as he brought up a hand, finger turning into a tenticle before it quickly transformed back into his finger. “Nothing else...but he says the octopus aspect can be useful...” and with that he want back to eating his snack, you only humming along to the soft music that played to the radio. You finally pulled up to Nighteye agency, but you didn’t even get the chance to get out of the car to retrieve your son before he was already running excitedly out of the building, car door yanked open as he flung himself inside, door now shut behind him. It didn’t take long for Mirio to find his juice box and snack, already spilling every single detail of his first day, Tamaki listening intently.
Though as the days went on, Fatgum was left wondering when he would ever see you again. He prayed for rain, but the rain never came. He prayed for anything to get you back into his agency again so he could at least get your number or something. It was too weird to ask Tamaki about it as well and the boy was too hard on himself, shy, nervous, and fearful of everything, but Fatgum new patience was key to guiding him down the right path. Finally the rain did come, which that rain brought you back along with it. Fatgum couldn’t help but let that iconic grin of his stretch across his face as he watched you push through the doors and into the safety of his agency. Tamaki was already scurrying to meet up with you at the doors to leave, but already a voice boomed out.
“Hey! Wait a second!” Shouted out the Hero Fatgum as he made his way over “I got to ask you something!” He said, finally slowly his quickened pace as he got closer. Tamaki took it upon himself to take the car keys from your hand, already rushing out the building and to the car, getting a feeling in his bones that Fatgum was going to try and flirt with you. All the ‘subtle’ questions about you while out on patrol or sitting around in his office didn’t fly over the young adult’s head, so Tamaki already knew he DID NOT want to be standing there to listen to the hero he was doing his work studies with flirt with his best friend’s mom that was basically a mother to himself for the many past years of his life. It was just....ew?
“Yeah, sure, fire away.” You said with a grin as you pulled down the hood that was tightened upon your head, hands smoothing away the frizzy mess that was your hair. If only it wasn’t raining so hard or if only it wasn’t so humid.
“I was just wondering if maybe I could get your number?” He asked, a sheepish smile over powering that grin he tried to keep stretched across his face. He could already feel that blush flood his cheeks, but you only let a laugh out as you nodded your head, tugging out your phone from the depths of your purse.
“Yeah! Of course, look, type your number in mine and I’ll send a text to you.” You offered, handing the phone, a contact already pulled up and ready to be typed in. Relief flooded his insides as he took the phone from your hands carefully, typing in his info before handing it back, which you instantly took ahold of you phone once again, thumbs quickly typing away before that iconic ‘whoop’ noice sounded out to signify a text message had been sent, his own phone within his pocket now chiming.
After that, text message upon text message were sent and received between the two of you. All those text messages combined could probably make the 5th book of Harry Potter look puny. It felt like you were back in high school again, texting away, a little flirt here and there, laughter, etc. Every now and then a phone call would happen, but those always happened away at night where you knew your son was knocked out from sleep and Fatgum was free for a few hours. Until finally...the text you were anticipating was sent.
‘Would you like to go out with me this evening, let’s say at 7:30?’
Which you of course excepted, which led to now, you were slipping a dress over your head, now standing before a mirror, hand smoothing out the material, sooon leaning in close to inspect the makeup that you had placed on before heading in the living room kitchen area, Mirio and Tamaki looking up from their school work and to you.
“Where are you going?” Mirio asked as he watched you nervously look down to your phone as you were beginning to make sure you had everything you needed in your purse. Though you were now fishing out some money from your wallet, placing it down on the counter.
“I’m going out tonight, I’m leaving money on the counter in case you two boys want to order food or pick something up.” You spoke out as you looked over to them. “And since it’s Friday, you two can order a few movies too off of amazon to watch as well, don’t forget to lock the front door and I shouldn’t be too late.” You told them, Mirio only looking to you, confused look on his face.
“Wait! Going out? With who?” He was soon asking excitedly from his sprawled out position at the coffee table that sat in the living room between the tv and the couch, Tamaki staring down to his work, though his head soon shot up, it finally connecting together within his brain that he indeed already knew the answer to that question. You were about to answer it, but the doorbell rang, you rushing over to the door to open it, though your brows furrowed together as you looked to the man before you. He was indeed talll, but he was handsome and you were pretty sure those were muscles under the sleeves of his dress shirt, but that iconic smile that stretched across his face made you wonder.
“Uh I....got a few days off from the angency because I used all my energy during an attack with a villain...this is what happens when I do that, so they give me time to build it all back up.” He said as he gave a little nervously laugh as he scratched the back of his head. You only gave a grin as you stepped aside to let him in.
“Really? Well then these next couple of days I’ll make sure your feeding yourself properly.” You said with a little laugh, closing the door behind him. “Just give me a moment, I still need to go pick out the shoes I’m wearing.” You said as you rushed off, living him to slip his shoes off at the front door to step further into your home. Though he froze as a gasp sounded out.
“Tamaki? I guess I shouldn’t be surprised to see you here.” Fatgum said with a litttle laugh as he looked to the two boys, school uniforms disheveled from when their hands undid their ties and untucked their shirts the firsts moment they got back from school.
“Wait...” Mirio hummed out as he looked to the man and to his best friend, who seemed to be nervous and a bit embarrassed, before a look of adoration was brought upon his face. “You’re Fatgum?!” He gushed out excitedly. “Mom! You are going out with Fatgum!?” He shouted into the house, your laughter faintly responding from somewhere within the house, you appearing soon with a pair of heels in hand as you grabbed your purse from the counter.
“Yes, I am, why do you sound surprised? You think I’m too old to have a date or something?” You questioned, your son only responding with a laugh, now sitting up from his sprawled out position on the floor as you stepped up to the two boys, teasing kisses and hugs placed onto both. “Also....no rated R movies.” You said as you pointed a finger to them as you and Fatgum were now placing your shoes on at the front door, gaining a groan from Mirio as he let himself flop back onto the ground.
The date was going well, he was exactly the man he had portrayed himself to be through those many text messages shared between the two of you and those late hour phone calls. Now the two of you walked arm and arm throughout the area, watching the weekend groups of people weave in and out through small shops and food stands and through the sidewalks and streets.
“I haven’t had this much fun in a long time.” You said as you let your head lean up against his arm with a content sigh exiting from your lungs. “And then look at you, you could have at least warned me! I hardly even recognized you...” You pulled your head away from his arm, giving him a playful punch to his arm.
“You still recognized me then? Tell me, what gave me away.” He asked with a laugh as his arm soon wrapped around you, hand resting upon your side.
“Your smile....it is kind of the most iconic feature about you as a hero and it looks the same even when you look like this, Fatgum.” You pointed out, leaning into his grasp around you.
“Hey....you know, you can call me Taishiro...” he soon said with a soft smile as he looked down to the ground, watching his feet moving with each footstep he took. “That’s my name, I think I can trust you knowing that.” He said as he looked to you, those words with that soft look upon his face only made your heart skip a beat, a blush now upon your cheeks as you gave him a smile. Soon, a kiss was shared, the both of you now blushing messes.
Two of you were now silently jogging through the hall of the apartment building you lived in, Taishiro’s hands upon your hips as the both you surpressed your giggles and laughter, his lips leaving kisses against your head and cheek as he stood behind you, hands rested at your sides, watching you pull out your keys, unlocking the door and stepping in, he coming in right after. The two of you soon peered out from entrance and into the living room area, seeing a movie, of course it was a horror movie that you were pretty sure was rated R, and the two boys on the floor, wrapped up in blankets and snoring away. You motioned him to follow you after your shoes were taking off along with his, quietly tiptoeing further into the apartment, opening a door to reveal your room, letting him in before closing the door.
“I know I told those two no rated R movies.” You said with a little laugh as you let yourself sit down in front of your vanity, hands already pulling the hair pins you placed in your hair earlier, Taishiro taking it upon himself to let himself sit down on the edge of you bed behind you, watching your reflection in the mirror. Watching your hair falling from their pinned places made his heart throb, the soft glow upon your face from the lamp on the vanity turned on just made him star struck over you.
“Oh they are big boys now, they hardly even seemed bothered by it, they are fast asleep out there.” He commented, watching you only shake your head in disapproval as you removed your jewelry next, soon turning around in the chair you sat in to look at him.
“I’ll wait for the day you have your own children, I’m sure your mind will be changed.” You said with a grin, turning back to look in the mirror. “Can you get the zipper?” You questioned as looked to him through the mirror, which he nodded his head, standing up and now behind you, fingertips gently brushing back your hair over your shoulder to finally gently pull down the zipper, finger tips leaving a soft graze upon the skin on your exposed back as he moved your hair back in place.
“You know....they are asleep...we could go back to my place for a bit...” he said half jokingly as he leaned down, lips gently pressing a few kisses to your cheek, you only blushing and shook your head. “With two kids here? I’ll have to pass you on that offer.” You said as you reached a hand to caress the back of his head, though his head soon shot up, looking to the door.
“What the fuck!?” He soon shouted, you worriedly looking over to where he was looking at, though your worry turned to anger as you looked to your bedroom door. Mirio’s face was poking through, the look of fear plastered on his face as the door now jiggled around.
“Tamaki! I’m stuck!” He shouted out, the whispers of ‘I don’t know what to do’ soon followed along with a tentacle or two poking from under the crevice of the bottom of the door. “What are with the tentacles?” He soon asked, panicking as he look to the tentacles crawling from under the door. Mirio’s face soon slid down to the floor and disappeared with him sucking a huge breath of air in.
“I don’t know! I’m panicking.” Soon stuttered out Tamaki’s voice at Mirio’s question. “Your clothes!” but you were already whipping the door open, revealing a cowering Tamaki and your son who was desperately trying to shove his clothes back on from activating his quirk. Taishiro could only stand behind you, a bright red blush upon his face in embarrassment of the whole situation on his face, but you were only fuming before the two boys.
“You were eavesdropping?” You accused, Mirio finally having his pants on properly, now finding himself in fear of your rage.
“Well....yeah....I just wanted to know if the two of you were going to plan on going on another date or if the date went well because, Uh...it’s cool that you’re dating Fatgum and I’m just really nosy....” you rambled on, Tamaki only seemingly trying to hide behind Mirio.
You only sighed and pinched your brow. “Go on the two of you, back to bed, I’m going to go show Fatgum out...” you said, the two boys quickly disappearing into his room and behind the safety of his door, you now standing in the living room, remote in hand to turn off the tv, the lights now on in the room.
“I am so sorry about that, I don’t know why my son thought that was a good idea.” You apologized, now looking over at him who now helped you by folding the blankets that were scattered on the floor, placing the pillows back onto the couch.
“Actually now looking back at it....it was pretty funny and plus why wouldn’t he? I would try to eavesdropping on the guy my mom is dating.” He said with a shrug of his shoulders as he followed you to the front door, his shoes being slipped back on. “But still....my place is still open.” He said with a tease, you only letting out a snort before pressing a tiny kiss to his lips.
“Another stunt like that and I just might.”

Just A Game: Gonna' Ask Her
Anime: My Hero Academia (SMAU)
LEVEL DOWN | MENU | LEVEL UP
Tumblr media
Y/N took her car and drove down to Shinso's house. She had texted her roommates that she'd be out for the day, and when Bakugou asked why, she informed them. Both of them were extremely wary about the situation. Kirishima offered to come along.
By now, they'd been filled with worries, prompting Bakugou to call her.
"You're making a really dumb decision." Bakugou states, his voice booming around the car.
Y/N frowned a little as she stopped at a red light. "I know, Katsuki." She sighed out, running her hands down the steering wheel, "But I'm sure that if I don't do this, it'll haunt me the rest of my life."
Bakugou goes quiet.
Y/N knows her best friend. Bakugou's gone into his bedroom, which was further down the hall than Kirishima and Y/N'd. Bakugou is most likely leaning against the wall of his walk-in closet, door closed so that Kirishima couldn't hear his conversation.
Y/N also knew her other best friend. Kirishima is probably eating Bakugou's stress cooking (gydon most likely) as he watches work out videos and random short clips to get his mind off of everything. He's trying not to check his phone, because he's expecting a text from Y/N.
But they know her just as well. They know Y/N is tapping her fingers against the steering wheel because she's as nervous as she was on her first day of high school. Y/N probably has a cup of milktea in her cup holder, half empty within the first 15 minutes of buying it because she stress drinks like how Bakugou stress cooks.
"You know that you don't need him." Bakugou says, shuffling around the coats in his wardrobe, "I don't understand why you're so eager to mend things with that fucker. He messed up. You shouldn't forgive me, just because he suddenly wants to actually be honest with you."
Y/N turned the corner, sipping from her straw in the milktea. "You know I value your opinion because most of the time, you're right." She huffed, putting her drink back, "But... I don't know, maybe after hearing him out, I can finally get over all of this."
Bakugou stiffened, leaning against the door. He crossed his arms over his chest. After a moment, he says, "He doesn't deserve you, Y/N."
Her lips have parted by now and she's staring harder at the road. "Nobody deserves anybody." She replies to her friend, "People aren't entitled to 'win' anyone over. They just need to want them enough to persue them."
Bakugou shakes his head and leans it against the door. Of course she'd say that. As he closed his eyes, he spoke into the phone, "Let me rephrase that then, idiot." He opened his eyes, staring at the ceiling. "You deserve better."
Y/N chuckled after a second, shaking her head slowly, "You're only saying that because you miss the relationship I was in from high school."
"That was a Hell of a lot better than this shit." Bakugou stated.
"I'll fix this shit, Katsuki." Y/N spoke, looking determined, "Trust me."
So, Bakugou did. He hung up after telling her that he was making takoyaki for when she came home. He left Y/N with hope and her own thoughts.
She thought that Shinso and herself would be alone. But then, when she drove into Shinso's driveway, she recognised the two cars parked there. One was Shinso's stick-shift, the black car he used when they went around. The other was most definitely Midoriya's, a dark green Mazda Sedan.
Y/N knocked on the door, being met with Uraraka. "Oh... I'm—I'm sorry, I thought that Shinso would be here—" She began, feeling her cheeks warm up with embarrassment. But Uraraka waved her hands.
"Wait!" She said, stopping Y/N from walking away, "Shinso's here, he is! He's just, um... talking to Midoriya and Iida. He'll be finished in a bit."
Y/N only nodded her head. She sighed as Uraraka let her inside and told her that she could sit on the stool. Y/N took out her phone while Uraraka went into the room with all the yelling. It sounded like Shinso didn't invite them over. She could hear Midoriya try to stop him from shouting and Iida telling him to calm down. Uraraka quickly closed the door behind her, passing Todoroki while he walked out.
"Oh, hi Y/N." Todoroki spoke, sipping from his cup. He walked towards her spot. "How're you? It's been a while since we've seen each other last."
Y/N chuckled, scratching the back of her neck sheepishly, "Yeah, it has been. Pretty sure the last time I actually spoke to you was at laser tag."
"We should all go again." Todoroki said.
Y/N hummed, drawing circles on the marble counter, "Hmm. Maybe."
"Would you like something to drink?" Todoroki asked, already guiding her around the kitchen counter. He took out cans and mugs for the both of them. "I have some tea that Shinso mentioned you liked."
Y/N blinked at the thought. She then nodded her head, Todoroki asking her to fill and start the kettle as he put the tea bags in.
The door swung open to reveal a very flustered and messy Shinso. He hair was sticking up in weird places and he was breathing heavily. He looked like he was having a mid-life crisis. Y/N raised a brow at him.
"Y/N, I didn't think you'd come so early." Shinso said, fixing his shirt since he seemed a bit dishevelled. He cleared his throat and stood in front of her. "Um... Do you want to talk outside?"
"I'm fine with talking here, Shinso."
Her words were soft but icy. As if passive aggressive. Shinso had chills up his spine from how she spoke to him. Y/N sat up properly on the stool as Shinso shifted in his spot. She sipped from her cup.
Uraraka, Iida, Midoriya and Todoroki all stared at them. The girl then mumbled, pushing the boys ups the stairs, "We'll leave you two alone."
"Will he be alright by himself?" Todoroki asked quietly to them, making Midoriya and Iida nod their head profusely.
It was silent after they all went upstairs, probably not that far to hear what they were saying. But Shinso started it off.
"I'm really sorry for lying to you about that night."
After that, he said nothing. Or rather, he stopped speaking. Y/N only stared at him, brushing her hand against her neck. She waited for him to go on, to apologise further for the way he acted. But he was silent.
"I'm over that." She retorts, crossing her arms over her chest after drinking from her cup, "You apologised for that the last time I saw you."
"I—I know." Shinso replies, shifting in his spot near her. He avoided her gaze once again. "I just thought... you might want to hear it again. Is all."
Y/N sighed, standing up from her spot and brushing out the creases in her shirt, "Well, of that's all, then I'll be going. Is there anything else?"
Shinso held his breath. "N—... No." He replied, immediately regretting it as she nodded her head.
Shinso blinked as she went to the door after finishing her tea. She put her bag on and placed her hand on the doorknob. "Thank Todoroki for me, for the tea." She said, glancing over her shoulder to him.
Shinso stood in his spot, staring at her with wide eyes. She's just... leaving.
It's when the door shut behind her that he snapped out of his trance.
Bounding down the stairs was Uraraka and Midoriya.
"What are you doing?" Uraraka shouted, pointing at Shinso with a surprised look, "Go after her!"
Shinso looked back at the two, Iida and Todoroki poking theirs heads out from the top of the stairs. Midoriya puffed out his cheeks and spoke, "This is your one chance to make up for things! Go, Shinso, go!"
He stiffened up before waving his hands at them defensively, already walking towards the door.
Y/N was in her car, backing out of the driveway as she looks over her shoulder to the road. Shinso gulped, lifting his shoulder and running out towards the street. Y/N looks back to her front, pressing on the gas pedal.
But stops when Shinso stands in front of her car with his arms spread out wide.
Y/N harshly stomped on the brakes, feeling her body jolt forward before landing back on her chair.
She blinked, seeing him pant harshly.
"Shinso!" She shouted loudly, getting out of the car and standing up straight. She glared at him with bewildered eyes. "What is wrong with you? I could've run you over, you idiot!"
Shinso let out a sigh, walking over to her.
Y/N ran her fingers up her neck, her mind going wild. "You're so—so confusing! You just said that you had nothing left to talk to me about, and I drove all the way here just to hear you say 'I'm sorry'? Are you freaking kidding me?" She shouted at him, "Fuck, maybe Katsuki was right, I shouldn't have come here! We're never gonna' sort this shit out because you don't know how to just tell me the tru—"
Arms wrapped around her shoulders and pulled her into his chest, his head digging into the top of her shoulder.
Y/N stopped, stepping back to support herself as Shinso dove all his weight into her. "Shinso—"
"Can we take a drive?"
Y/N sighed, snaking her arms around his waist and holding onto him loosely, "Fine. Get in, we're going to go get food."
Shinso nodded his head. He let go of her after a few seconds, rounding the car to get into the passenger's seat. Y/N shut the door behind her, starting the car again and driving down the road.
"Do you think it's gonna' be okay?" Midoriya questioned, watching the car drive off from the opened door that Shinso forgot to close.
"He'll make it right." Iida said, fixing his classes as he walked back to the kitchen, "He has to."
"Shinso said he's gonna' ask her about her ex."
Everyone turned to Todoroki, sheer fear in their eyes as he read off what he got texted.

Restrained
Notes: I have no excuse, I just want a crack fic with smut treated seriously with Tai-chan to step on me the reader while looking down cockily. Humor, angst, fluff, splashed with pining dust :’) Also, I love Linkin Park.
Setting: Reader-chan is a villain and is terrible at being one, cue ongoing physical and snark battles with Tai-chan.
Warnings: Kinky Smut (So here’s what my unacknowledged, vanilla self, has tried to write and nobody has to read it but it’s here in the story: Dirty talk, safe words, possessiveness, edging, talk about inexperience, handcuffs, breeding kink, unsafe sex, Tai’s mean and leaves the reader unattended, but he feels bad afterwards, lube, somehow there’s vanilla, and fluff) and my weak emotions for Good Boys.
……….
You didn’t exactly chose the Villain life, it basically chose you. Cue your dad’s maniacal laughter, your mother’s evil smirks and her ways of teaching you how to go for the jugular since you were five...wasn’t the most heroic childhood.  You grew up distant away from others, living life learning how to avoid the law and training heavily to avoid losing a fight, your parents seemed to take that as a green-light and pushed you into the family business. Not like you could fight it, anyway. You were an outcast from day one, and had no close friends.
That being said, you didn’t really like hurting other people or doing typical villainy stuff, but you liked fighting. It gave you a feeling of pushing all of your aggression and bottled up anger onto somebody without killing them, whether it be heroes, vigilantes, or hell, other villains. It wasn’t healthy, but you had nothing else, really.
Cue in the physical form of your recent excitement, the BMI hero who resembled a matryoshka doll and was kinda cute in his big form, no lie. The two of you had met near his agency with Sakura petals floating along with the breeze, and honestly it reminded you of a shojo manga. Well, him minding his own business until he’d seen your pathetic attempts at shoplifting.
He was there for a fight, and at first you overestimated him, thinking that he would go down quickly, but you were wrong. So wrong. You weren’t the best of the villains, but you held your ground, the both of you panting and sweaty and for the first time, you liked fighting against a hero.
Of course being a self-called villain full of dirty tricks up your sleeve, you were good at vanishing, leaving him to shout curses at you, but you didn’t care. From then on out, the two of you would continue ironically meeting in places. It was either you stumbling into him walking around town, eating Takoyaki, or him catching you...not doing anything villainous because you sucked at it, but you know, it’s the thought that counts.
Then the snark happened.
“Where did you get your hero outfit? From the thrift store?” You quipped.
“As in a matter of fact, I did. Saw yer mom there buyin’ old man’s underwear, Sweetheart.”
Kami help you.
“You don’t even know my mom! But yeah, she’d probably do that.” You answered.
“Wait, really?”
“Yeah, she’s kind of weird.”
You weren’t on the top of the villain lists (or if you were on the list), but you were good at holding your ground, and he seemed to know of you, and thus seemed as if he was always making plans to run into you. You were no better. You had gotten into the habit of causing small trouble around his agency, and your battles were always lengthy, full of snark, and you admit you kind of liked to feel him push you against a brick building, leering down at you before the whole thing started.
Anyway, you’ve always managed to either escape or he’d just throw up his hands and turn and walk away in a frustrated huff, like that one time you fell flat on your face, accidentally dodging his spear-formed punch. It was one time, but he didn’t let you live it down, asking about your nose.
Oddly enough, the other pro-heroes, Miruko and Hawks, would just glance at you, sigh and then leave, muttering something about idiots, Eraserhead would just guide the children away from the two of you with a blank look, and Endeavor would just avoid the two of your messy fights altogether, opting that he ironically wasn’t going to deal with “an old married couple”. Whatever that meant.
It didn’t stop smaller, weaker heroes from trying, though. Trying to be hotshots and bring you in. Of course, they failed. You didn’t listen to Linkin Park while training your ass out in the cold rain just to be brought down by some punks.
Tai-chan, or what you’ve become calling him (thanks for Hawks just silently handing you a paper with his name on it, the absolute Wing-man), noticed. Although he was a hero and didn’t dissuade the young ones from chasing after villains, he did basically say that anybody around his area was his to battle. It melted your heart, a little.
It didn’t stop the two of your bantering and bickering, or sometimes he’d say something, trying to be serious but it comes out as silly, that you couldn’t help but burst into a fit of giggles and he’d get flustered, having a cute blush that you couldn’t help but just eat up.
It was like an odd addiction, you wanted to see more of him, even though it was through unhealthy things such as your fights, you wanted to hear more corny catchphrases, see his eye twitch of annoyance (you were a little shit), and finally, the both of you panting in defeat as he angrily munched on Takoyaki, snarling as you stole one, but let you have it, and so on.
You weren’t sure if you were becoming an unhealthy masochist, or you just really liked him. Perhaps both, because your heart would flutter every time you see him smile around his sidekicks from afar, and then clench because you were so far gone into the life of a villain, you knew that you could never have that life. Be a hero, or have him at least as a friend.
Such sad thoughts did plague you, and it must have shown through, because you would halfheartedly remark to his commentary or sometimes, you just wouldn’t show up for a day. He noticed. He was keen like that, and so to your surprise, he would take your fights more seriously, as if trying to keep you there, not letting you keep running away.
Honestly, it was a little sweet, but your poor heart was getting confused at your little game, and didn’t know how to honestly feel for him.
Of course, everything must come to an end, doesn’t it?
He was leering down at you with a cocky smirk, clothes ruined, showing off whatever he had, a boot stepping onto your chest, rain soaking through his soft hair and splattering your cheeks. An odd feeling came over you. Something you weren’t familiar with, but through your mask, you felt that it was safe to just take a mental picture and burn it forever within your brain.
The fight was different. You were sick all week with the common cold, and when you returned from your little hibernation, weird gossip and rumors were littering about near the FatGum Agency. It was either you left him because you were getting bored, or you had found another hero to play with, or you were finally caught. Whatever it was, he seemed to be excited, relieved(?), and at the same time furious to see you. He demanded where have you been, and feeling increasingly snarky and not sure what to feel with your pining dumbass heart, you retaliated that you were on a vacation from his stupidity.
 Yeah, you lost.
“Finally caught ya.” His voice rasped out and hot damn did that not help with the odd searing warmth churning within your guts. The feeling of losing always frightened you, for you weren’t sure whether or not your family would actually give a damn. Yet, you felt elated and calm. It was over, he could finally call the shots, and you could just sit in a jail cell and atone for whatever petty crimes you committed.
“So you have. How’s the weather up there, you giraffe?” You couldn’t help but ask, and the boot on your chest pressed a tiny bit down in annoyance, but he made sure that you weren’t hurting.
“Just fine. I think I stepped in shit, though.”
You couldn’t help it. You began laughing, and to your astonishment, he did, too.
“I missed ya.” He admitted as the both of you calmed down. That surprised you.
“I thought you hated me?”
He gave you a look.
“You’re annoying, and persistent, but not evil. Like a flea, you keep on bouncin’ back up, and I can’t help but not dislike ya.” The words sent a warm tingling up your spine, and you found yourself smiling softly.
“I couldn’t hate you either, you know. You’re the only one,” You swallowed, and the continued as his eyes now focused onto yours. “who I can freely just be myself around with.”
“Whaddya mean?” The tone was softer, now, but ever so curious. Well, it’s a good time as any to release your tragic backstory while in the drizzling rain.
“My parents are both villains, and so I was raised as one. I could never be friends with heroes, or really anybody. I could never dream to be a hero, because of my background. It’s shady from the start, who in their right mind would pick a hero who could just end up being like their parents?”
The words tumbled out of you, feeling the metaphorical weight be lifted off from your chest, as the rain quickened it’s pace. An uncomfortable silence washed over the two of you, and already you were regretting the word vomit that had just spilled out of your mouth. You said too much, you cringed inwardly. You should have just kept your mouth shut, now he’s going to pity you-
“You know what? Fuck it.” Your eyes widened with shock and confusion as the so-called “DadGum”  had just said one of the worst bad words.
“Did you just-”
“Your parents can jump into the nearest jail-cell. You,” His eyes glinted with an unknown darkness that set your insides ablaze. “have two options. Either you can platonically become a hero-in-training  and live with me, or you can be mine. My hero-in-training, my roommate, my lover, just, mine.” He put an emphasize on the word, and your face flushed despite the chilly autumn rain.
You would be surprised, but you oddly weren’t. Endeavor was right, the two of you were basically an old married couple, bickering and bantering, always staring at each other when one was sure the other wasn’t looking.
“Alright. I’d like us to try...um...being more than...rivals?” You stammered. He cocked an eyebrow.
“I didn’ just pour my heart out for ya so ya can deliver that. Try a lil’ harder.” He scoffed.
“Fine, fine! I..I like you too-”
“Love.”
“Love, you too! I just...I dunno, always wanted to find an excuse to just be around you.”
“That’s sweet, an’ I love ya too, Sugarplum, but ya weren’t here for a whole week-
“I was sick with the common cold!”
“N’ then these shitty rumors started-
“Don’t act as if that’s my fault!”
“So I’m feelin’ a lil’ snappy an’ hungry today, but not for food.” He humored you.
“What does that mean?” You tested the waters, knowing the truth, already. He took his boot off of you, crouching down to give you a predatory smile.
“I won’ touch ya unless ya beg me, but our lil’ cat’n’mouse games have had me riled up, for a very, very long time.” He leaned in and whispered in your ear, and you couldn’t help but swallow thickly with want as he continued.
“N’ now we’ve discussed our feelin’s, I’m all just wantin’ to tie you to my bed.” He finished as he continued leering at you as if you were the sheep, and him the wolf. You didn’t blame him, you’ve been wanting this, too. It was a little fast paced, but several months of mutual pining would probably do that to you.
“I mean, at least take me out to dinner, first.” You tried to joke. He just shrugged.
“Done.”
“What? I’m a villain! My family are villains!” You tried to argue. He gave a smile mixed in with a humorous look.
“Villain? Last time I checked, starin’ at candy from the hand of a baby, isn’t puttin’ ya on any wanted list. You’re mine, now. Doesn’t matter what yer shitty family thinks. I’ll fight’em, too.” The sentence made your heart swell, feelings of joy and acceptance fluttered within your for the first time in a long time, and you let yourself give a warm smile. His eyes softened, as he helped pull you up to your feet, letting you lean against him as you maintained your balance.
“Alright. We...we can just be a normal couple? How does this even work?” You tried out. He glanced at you.
“Yeah, we’re goin’ to jus’ be a normal couple. Well, you’re gonna train with me, so that we can eventually get ya a license. N’ you’re gonna kick your parent’s asses, not as a villain or a civilian, but as a hero.” He started off softly, but then a more rambunctious grin took over his face at the prospect, and to be honest, you felt like that was a good idea, spitting everything that they’ve taught you, back in their faces as you live life the way you want it, with your partner, of course.
Speaking of which.
“So...we’re just going to continue getting soaked?” You asked, trying to keep yourself from shuddering.
“Yeah, but not in the rain. C’mon, my place.” He gruffed, and you found yourself eagerly nodding.
You weren’t sure how this happened so fast. First you entered his apartment, shivering, then he said that your clothes needed to be washed, aaaaand you were here, on his bed, naked, chilled, and your hands completely cuffed to the post as he was staring at you with such a dirty, hungry look, you felt thrilled by it.
“You want this? Say no an’ we’ll stop.” He offered one last time.
“I want this.” You admitted, and he gave off an almost predatory grin as you watched in amazement of him shucking off his clothes at the pace of the speed of light. Hot damn, he was huge, and beautiful. He grinned at your unabashed stare, crawling towards you on the king-sized bed, opening your legs as he slotted himself between them.
“So pretty, and wet.” He chuckled, giving you little time to think as his thumb swiped at your leaking opening, causing you to gasp.
“I think that I’m gonna eat you out.” Was the only warning you were given as your legs were pulled further apart, and the next thing you knew, he was on you. Your hands jerked against the fuzzy handcuffs as you felt him licking long, hot, and wet stripes from your opening, to your clit. You couldn’t help but mewl as you subconsciously fought against your restraints, thighs trying to clench around him as he gripped them, keeping them apart as he suckled at your clit.
You felt helpless as he was giving you such an intense and dark stare while he was driving you to the edge, gauging your teary-eyed reaction while you bit your lips, hands squeezing onto thin air as you felt yourself getting closer and closer, hips bucking wildly.
Then, he stopped, and you growled into a pitiful whine, causing him to laugh.
“How does it feel, causin’ others to wait?”
You huffed. He seriously couldn’t be that petty!
“Common. Cold.” You let out a hiss, and he gave you an unimpressed stare.
“Are ya givin’ me an attitude?” Was a warning.
“Yeah, I am!” Like a bull, you ran right into that red flag. He grinned, a little darkly. It honestly would’ve scared you a little, if you weren’t so turned on.
“Yer still a lil’ too feisty. As much as I love it, I ‘ave other plans in mind.” He gave a false pout, and your stomach churned with awaited excitement in what he was going to do, next.
“I’ll be back. I’m going to the store. Be good, okay?” He gave your surprised look a dark smirk, and you couldn’t help but growl. The audacity! You loved him, but the audacity! You couldn’t help but look on with bewilderment as he gotten dressed, opening and closing the bedroom door shut as he left you all alone and tied up.
You waited for what seemed forever, pissed off and bored out of your mind as you felt increasingly cold and still wet. You refused to cry. He said he’d be back, didn’t he? Then why do you feel so helpless and lonesome. You felt tears shed with relief and frustration as he finally opened the door to the bedroom, black bag in hand.
“Bastard!” You hissed, and he eyed you with a sympathetic expression mixed in with a little guilt. He got undressed and set the bag next to the two of you, crawling towards you and wiped away the wetness on your cheeks, kissing them and your mouth as he held a gentler expression. He held your chilled frame against his too warm one, nuzzling you as he soothed your ruffled feathers.
“I know, Darlin’. I’ll make it all better for you, I promise.”  He kissed your nose as he gathered the blankets to surround your skin, still letting you be exposed, but at least you’ll be a little warmer.
“Do you wanna continue?”
“Yes.” You said without hesitation, feeling relieved after seeing his softer side, and still wanting release, and received a wet, dirty kiss. You moaned into it, feeling his hands rub your breasts, squeezing them rather roughly as he toyed with the nubs with his roughed up hands. He broke away too soon, leaving the two of you panting as his dark, feral look returned as he eyed you.
“Bought you a lil’ somethin’.” He turned away, rummaging through the bag. You eyed it wearily, hoping that he didn’t go too crazy. He pulled out a bottle of strawberry lube, that was good, and...your face flushed.
“Ever used these, before?” He held out the little vibrating bullets for you to see. You shook your head, and he chuckled.
“You’re very vanilla, ain’t you?”
“I-I…” You stuttered, but he kissed your forehead.
“What’s yer safe word?” He asked. Safe word? Why couldn’t the two of you have a normal first time, together? You thought about it.
“Grapes.”
“Why that word?”
“I hate them.” You shrugged.
“Fair enough. Alright, let’s get started.” He said lowly, opening the lube and bullets. He added some of the lube onto the bullets, attaching one bullet to your clit, and the other to your nipple with little pieces of tape. Yeah, you were confused, too, but he didn’t pay you any mind as he set the controller to both bullets to the side, flipping the switch to a low setting.
You let out a choked whimper as your clit was being stimulated, him leaning forward and enjoying the view of your wetness drenching the sheets.
“Such an eager slut.” He bit out almost darkly as his fingers spread open your labia.
“’M notta slut!” You protested, but it was on deaf ears as he had something else in mind. He generously poured a dime amount of lube onto his fingers, grinning down at you as the strawberry scent floated nicely in the room, mixing in with your own scent of arousal. You almost jolted as his lubed up fingers prodded the tight muscle to your vaginal entrance.
“Damn, relax, you’re so fuckin’ tight.” He murmured, and through your lust-fogged brain, you wondered if anybody else knew about this side of “Dad-gum”. Although having a rough demeanor, he was gently opening you up, and you felt warmth blossom in your chest at the extra attention that he was giving you, glancing at you from time to time to see if you were alright.
You were more than fine. Five fingers deep, and a higher setting to the mini bullets, you were very close to coming. You rocked your hips in a desperate fashion, hands clenched tightly as the fuzz to the handcuffs prevented you from hurting yourself.
“You gonna cum?” He leered.
“Yes!” You bit out, and your stomach fluttered with excitement mixed with dread at that dark chuckle.
“Not yet.” He switched the vibrator off, and you swore you could hear yourself huff into an annoyed growl.  Tears of frustration threatened to spill, and he gave another sympathetic look. You swore that he was mocking you.
“It’s okay, alright? I’ll give you what ya want.” He kissed your eyes, holding your frame close to him as he then rubbed his cheek against yours.
“Patience, Baby. I’m hurtin’ too. Right now, let’s let ya cool down while I mark up this pretty skin of yours, alright?” He kissed you gently, and you were now aware of his own need. It was swollen and looked angry as precum was headily dripping onto the sheets. It twitched as you realized that he knew that you were staring. You licked your lips and he groaned with want.
“See? Hurtin.”. He then continued to do as he promised, kissing you slowly as his hands rubbed against your skin, squeezing here and there as your hands itched to touch him. He paid your whining no heed as he licked at the juncture at your neck, biting it harshly, suckling at the blossoming bruise as his dick twitched at your wanton whine and buck of hips. He kissed the spot gingerly, eyeing your debauched frame with greed as he lowered his mouth to another spot.
“Damned young punks, trying to bring you in. They should know better. You’re in my territory.” Bite. You winced, but keened with need as he lathered the blossoming bruises with gentle kisses.
“Every inch of you is mine.” His eyes glittered almost darkly as he tore away from his work. Oh yes, you were looking nice. He didn’t do too much, but the love bites he imprinted onto your neck and clavicle helped soothe the possessive ache that he had. He knew that you wanted to touch him, too, and was thrilled at the aspect.
“You wanna touch?” He prodded. You keened into a hurried nod, not caring about your pride.
“Please.” What a cute sound, how could he refuse? He relented, and you were on him. It felt as if he was guiding you, letting your hands roam, doing your own squeezing at his stomach, biceps, and pecs while you kissed him feverishly. He basked in your attention, letting you claim your prize for being such a wonderful and patient Sweetheart. Of course he kept you from touching his dick, promising that another time, definitely, so you relented in favoring of returning his little marking game.
He swore he could come untouched by your less rough touch, eyeing him to see if he acknowledged that you were doing a good job, to which he couldn’t help but find that adorable, as well.
“You’re so good for me. So patient and sweet. I’m going to breed you, now. Would you like that?” He hummed, and you swore that your brain stopped and your core clenched with need. One sentence should not sound that hot, but it did.
“Yes. I would like that.” You answered a little too gently, and he hummed with approval, kissing you.
“If you don’t, remember that we don’t hafta do anything that you don’t wanna do. Remember your safe word?” He inquired, you nodded and told him.
“Good. You wanna be bred n’ dirty-talked? I gotcha some Plan B at the store, didn’t really think about condoms. Is that fine?”
You nodded, telling him that you liked both ideas. To be honest, you didn’t mind being marked up in such a way. Not with your pent up lust and feelings of love towards this sadistic Himbo of a man.
“Lie on yer back. I wanna see ya.” He growled out, and you hastily complied.
“Now, tell me, how experienced are ya, really? Not hard to notice that you seem to be learnin’ a few things.” He gave you look in which you couldn’t decipher.
“It’s dumb.”
“No it ain’t. Doesn’t matter to me if ya have history.” He kissed your knee softly as his expression gentled, and you felt yourself relax.
“Your possessiveness says otherwise.” You tried.
“’Cause they’ve been houndin’ around what’s been mine in my territory. Your earlier experiences don’t count. You’re mine, now, and I’m planning on keepin’ it that way.” He smoothed your leg gently despite the dark edge in his tone of words. Really, you feel elated.
“So no judgment?” You inquired.
“None.” He promised.  You believed him. Feeling a bit more braver and relaxed, you could trust him with your secrets. You didn’t know a way how to make it less cringe-worthy to admit, but you wanted to tell him, anyway.
“I never really had to time or opportunity.” You found yourself saying, and that’s all he needed to hear.
His eyes flashed into something that you couldn’t decipher, but it didn’t matter. He wan onto you, kissing you slowly yet frequently, retouching every place where he could reach with a more gentle approach.
“Don’t make a kink out of it.” You groaned. He chuckled lowly.
“Why not? Ya get to do this, once.”
“It’s a social construct, and dumb. It’s not like my personality is magically going to change after having something within me.”
“I agree completely, Dearest, but I find it endearin’ and sweet that you’re willing to share this with me.”
“That’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard.” You huffed out softly.
“Might be, but my dick’s trying to convince itself to do the thinkin’.”
“Maybe you should let it, then.” You prodded, and he then gave you a dark grin.
“As ya wish. Don’t forget yer safe word.” Was the only warning you had.
You were already loosened and wet, and although his actions resembled of that like an animal as he kissed you with fervor and biting some new areas, he was gentle when he decided that it was time for the main course. Coating himself with a generous amount of cold lube, he hissed as he turned on the bullet vibrators, letting you get stimulated as he breached your vaginal opening, teasing and prodding the muscle as it opened up for him.
You felt the hot, thick head of his dick slip inside with little to no restraint, surprising you as your legs widened further, allowing him to sink in further. He was big, and your walls had to stretch to accommodate him, but you wanted it so damned badly. It hurt so good, you thought. There was a little pain, but the delicious stretch heavily outweighed it, and it reached places that you didn’t know that just needed to be itched.
Hot damn, did you feel stuffed.
“How are ya?” He then asked, and then you realized that he was fully seated inside, and you could tell that he was desperate and hot as you were.
“If you stop this time, I might actually kill you.” Your threat was light, but he swallowed thickly at the intensity of your stare and heated gaze of want.
“Good?”
“Wonderful. Move.” You all but demanded, but he eagerly complied, letting your too-tight walls massage him.
“Fuck! So tight. Might keep ya like this, re-tie ya to my bed. Fuck ya full n’ heavy.” He couldn’t help but growl out the words, being rewarded with the tightened clench of your walls.
“Ya like that? Bein’ my personal cocksleeve? Belly round n’ breasts heavy with milk?” His movements jerked faster as he squeezed your breast that didn’t have the bullet pleasantly buzzing against it. You couldn’t help but nod, arousal dripping onto the sheets as the bullet roughly buzzed against your clit, the both of you feeling the painful aching need for release. His hips were all but snapping to meet your thrusts, balls slapping against your ass, as he engaged you into a filthy kiss as the lewd sounds and scents echoed and filtered within the walls.
Your head felt light and the both of you were covered in a sheen of sweat, he opted to weave his hand into yours, holding it rather almost gently as he moved as if a man possessed. Yours hit first, gripping you and clenching you out of nowhere as you let out his name in a frantic shout, clutching onto him ever so tightly as your head fogged into a sharp relief that left you into tears from finally able to cum. He was no better, hips faltering as he felt you embrace your own orgasm, causing his mind to almost go blank as the movement of his hips bucked into a frantic state. He huffed out, calling out to you as he held onto you tightly, anchoring the both of you into a freight train of orgasmic bliss.
You whimpered out your oversensitive clit and breast, hitting the damned power button to those little bullets as you came down from your high. Taishiro collapsed next to you as the both of you were panting, trying to catch your breaths. You were so drowsy, but you really didn’t want to sleep in your own spunk and messes.
“Dirty.” You whined, and he laughed, kissing you.
“Let’s get cleaned up, then. Know ya don’t wanna, but you could seriously get an UTI if ya don’t use the bathroom.” You agreed, tearing off the bullets, and pulling your weakened state up to use the bathroom as he decided to lazily change the sheets, throwing the used sheets, toys, and the black bag in the corner, somewhere. He would deal with that, later.
He caught you as you stumbled into him from coming out of the bathroom. Gently, he maneuvered you to where you were snuggled up against him, a heavy blanket re-warming up your cooling skin as he hummed, gently playing with your hair as he kissed you softly.
“Ya good?”
“Tired n’ fine.” You mumbled, peeking up to look at him. He smiled gently.
“I looooove you.” He singsonged, earning him your own gentle smile and a soft kiss.
“I love you, too. Go to sleep.” You playfully griped at the last part, and he chuckled in compliance.
…………..
Bonus:  Yeah your parents were pissed, but you were a hero, and their opinions didn’t really count, anymore. They knew your potential, so they cleared away from you as you and your fiance moved into a safer city. End.
……….
Here’s my poor attempt at being more versatile in writing kinky smut. Hope it’s not too much cringe, I’m usually too vanilla :’)

A Beautiful Transformation? No Way!
Part 1 of Legendary Warrior Sailor Black
Nagisa knew too much about dying for someone still alive.
There she lay, curled up in shuddering fetal, biting back whimpers and growls because she couldn't give the ones that did this to her the satisfaction of knowing she was in pain. But of course she was in pain, what else were you supposed to feel when red was flowing from your pierced abdomen? She coughed and tasted iron. Now blood was coming from two places.
The lightest touch, warm and gentle, brushed her fingers. She mustered what strength she had left and opened her eyes. A girl's face lay mere centimeters from hers on this ground that shook with what Nagisa knew was the world crumbling around them. Wishing she could stop them, she beheld the tears streaming from the deep blue eyes that held Nagisa's world, her universe, for reasons she couldn't quite recall. Neither girl had the ability to speak, but Nagisa knew that right then what she needed to do was take the girl's hand.
Her hand...
🖤🌙🖤🌙
"NAGISAAAA! YOU'RE GONNA BE LAAATE!"
Misumi Nagisa was yanked back into the waking world so hard she feared whiplash. She blinked and rubbed at the clouds in her eyes until she could make out the time on her alarm clock. Oh. Her brother was right.
She yanked on her uniform button-down, skirt, vest, bow tie, and blazer faster than you can say "tardy," ran her toothbrush through her teeth and her hairbrush through her hair, grabbed the crosse leaning against her desk, and sprinted out her bedroom door.
"I'm heading out!" she announced without so much as a "good morning" to her family.
"Don't you at least want some toast?" her mother asked, spreading butter on a fresh slice.
But Nagisa was already on her way out of the apartment. "No time for toast!" she shouted back. Then she was back inside. "Oh, who am I kidding, there's always time for toast!"
🌙🖤🌙🖤
Trying not to choke on toast while running turned out to be a lot harder than television had led Nagisa to believe. Swallowing down the last bite with a hard gulp, she lamented morning coming so early.
She doubted this disaster would have even happened had she not been up all night scared she'd have the dream again. The one where she dies.
Shudders made her almost drop her crosse. That and the fact that she was still running. How could something that wasn't even real do this to her? It was invading real life! She'd considered telling her parents but figured they would just tell her what she already knew: that she wasn't really dying and that the world wasn't ending and that the girl with her wasn't dying either because she wasn't real. If she was, then Nagisa would be able to remember something about how she looked. Other than her eyes. And the way her hand felt...
Nagisa shook her head. If she went on like that it'd give the girls at Verone Academy all the more reason to stuff her locker full of letters she didn't want-
5 kilograms of something Nagisa couldn't see knocked her head clear of thoughts and into the pavement. She growled, staggering back up. "What was tha-"
A group of boys, maybe eight or nine years old, pushed past her and nearly threw off the balance she'd just regained. They were chasing a cream-colored cat that scampered all about, jumping on and off every surface it could to avoid the little menaces. It would seem the cat had chosen her as one of his landing spots.
Seeing the poor thing so helpless, in such terror, stabbed through Nagisa's stomach with a justice-induced rage.
"HEY!" she hollered, brandishing her crosse like a weapon. The boys turned, shocked at the power of her voice. "Pick on someone your own size!" They blinked at her. Then she raised her crosse in a jerk just threatening enough to make them scramble off.
The cat revved up to dart away, but stopped short and turned to stare at her.
"You okay, little guy?" Nagisa asked, stooping down to scratch his head. There was a bandage on his forehead. "Here, let me get that for you."
And she did, peeling the adhesive back to reveal the strangest marking she had ever seen, some sort of weird heart-shaped thing. She thought it might be a bald spot, but it was blue. Blue? Did cats come in blue? She'd never owned one-
Ah crap, now she was double late! The cat was fine, but she wasn't gonna be if she didn't book it to the train station!
🖤🌙🖤🌙
If it weren't for the vice principle telling her off about tardiness and irresponsibility and selfishness maybe Nagisa could have made it for at least the end of the first class period. But nope, instead by the time she made it to her classroom, the second class was well underway and Ms. Yoshimi was handing out grades for a test Nagisa had forgotten about the moment she'd turned it in.
"Ah, Ms. Misumi," she said. "Since you've decided to join us today maybe you can explain this." She handed her a paper face-down. Never a good sign. Walking to her desk, Nagisa clutched the side that held her red-ink fate flat against her stomach so no one, including herself, could see what it said. She waited until eyes were off her and snuck a peek.
She got a thirty percent.
"No way!" she exclaimed before she could stop herself. All eyes were back on her. This day just kept getting better and better.
🌙🖤🌙🖤
"English is a weird language anyway," Rina consoled on the way to the train station.
Shiho nodded emphatically. "Yeah yeah yeah. If it's gonna, like, have that many rules then they shouldn't change all the time."
Well that was easy for them to say. At least they passed the test. Nagisa passed her crosse between her hands before resting it on her shoulder. Lacrosse had gotten her mind off of things for a bit. It helped that it was something she was actually good at. The muscles in her legs ached in protest of their continued use after practice, but they burned good because she knew she was getting stronger.
"Hey! I know what'll cheer you up, Nagisa!" Shiho said.
"What?"
"I hear that one jewelry store in the mall is having a huge huge huge sale!"
"I doubt there's anything in there we could afford, even if it's on sale," Rina reasoned.
"No, but, I hear they're cutting prices by, like, ninety percent!"
"Really? I need to see that for myself!"
Somehow Nagisa doubted even with those huge price cuts that she could afford anything. Not so much because the jewelry was expensive, but because she'd squandered her allowance on chocolate desserts and takoyaki (not at the same time). Not to mention she doubted she'd be getting another payment for the next ten years after her parents saw the newest low in her academic career. And she was pretty sure she was in the hole to begin with...
So, Nagisa hopped on the train to home and left Shiho and Rina to their detour.
She kept her eyes on her loafers. All she wanted to do in that moment was shuffle over to the nearest window so she could stare out of it with quiet sullenness instead of having to look anyone in the eye. But she managed to do just that when she forgot you're supposed to look forward when you shuffle and she ended up shuffling right into a boy's solid back.
"Ah!" She leapt back in surprise, and he did the same. Her surprise soon melted to deep, deep embarrassment when she looked up to find the cutest boy she'd ever laid her eyes on.
"Are you okay?" he asked, his gorgeous floppy hair flopping gorgeously.
"I- I- I'm so sorry!" Nagisa replied with a bow.
"It's no problem," he said. "It was an honest mistake. You're Misumi, right?"
The tight cocoons forming in her heart burst into butterflies. "You know my name?"
"I told him," said the girl Nagisa just noticed had been standing with this boy the whole time. Nagisa recognized her as Yukishiro Honoka from her class, a very pretty girl with delicate pale skin and a head of shiny, neat hair that housed the brain that got the highest score on the test Nagisa had failed. And she knew him. Oh no.
"I apologize if it seemed like I had been talking behind your back," Yukishiro said, which planted in Nagisa's head the idea that she had been talking behind her back. "I was just concerned because you looked so distraught, and I was telling Fuji-P-"
"Ahhh... I told you not to call me that in public!" the boy said, cheeks flushing.
Great. They had pet names, too.
"I hope you're not still upset about that test," Yukishiro told her.
The butterflies in Nagisa's heart were replaced by a wasp sting of horror. "HOW DID YOU KNOW I GOT A THIRTY PERCENT ON THE ENGLISH TEST?!"
Conversations stopped all around her. Passengers, including far too many in Verone uniforms, briefly gaped at the girl dumb enough to announce something like that to a packed train car. Then they turned back in a way that was supposed to be discreet but everyone knew really wasn't.
Yukishiro's polite smile cracked to reveal a foundation of shock and second-hand embarrassment. "I- I- um, wasn't aware of the exact score, but... I just heard you exclaim 'no way' when you saw it and assumed you weren't happy..." She cleared her throat a bit, a cute little sound that somehow made Nagisa feel like even more of a bumbling fool. She had to get out of there.
"Well, it was nice meeting you!" she forced through her teeth before pushing through the packed train car to find a spot as far from all human beings as possible.
🖤🌙🖤🌙
At home, Nagisa was greeted not by her family but by a note:
Nagisa
Ryouta and I are out buying groceries. Leftovers in the fridge. DO YOUR HOMEWORK.
Love, Mom.
Her father wouldn't be home for several hours. So she had the apartment to herself to... what should she do? Cry? Sulk? Scream into her pillow? That last one sounded good. And then maybe if she was feeling a little more devious than usual, she'd change that 30 to an 80 with a couple strokes of a...
No, that was too low. She just wouldn't bring it up until it was brought up to her. Now there's a plan.
She went to her bedroom, threw her bag and crosse on a chair then threw herself onto her mountain of plush toys. She really hadn't gotten a lot of sleep last night, and she decided not to remind herself why in case she scared herself into another all-nighter. That day, especially that exchange on the train, was way scarier than anything her brain could concoct, even if in her dreams she had tasted death...
Because she...
What was she thinking about, again..?
🌙🖤🌙🖤
Nagisa didn't even have time to dream before she was awakened by four little paws driving into her stomach.
Her assailant turned out to be the cat.
"Bald spot cat?" she exclaimed.
"It's not a bald spot-mepo!" the cat said.
Wait.
Nagisa screamed. The cat got the message and launched himself off and onto the floor, giving her the second painful jab to the stomach she'd experienced within a single minute. She scrambled off her bed and grabbed her crosse as if it would protect her from the creature.
"What?! WHAT?! A talking cat?! No way... There's just no way!" she whimpered, more to herself than to him.
"Just put down the stick and listen to me-mepo!"
Nagisa lifted the crosse above her head. "G-Get away! I won't hesitate!"
"Mepooo!" the cat screamed and ran to her balcony that she realized she'd forgotten to close the door to. That would explain how he got in. "Don't hurt me-mepo! What are you doing-mepo! This isn't how legendary warriors should-"
"What's with all the 'mepo mepo' stuff? Say 'mepo' one more time!"
The cat clamped his mouth shut, clearly fighting the urge. "MEPOOO!" he shouted, darting back into the room and between her legs. Oh, no no no, that was closer than Nagisa ever needed to be to a weird talking cat. Who knew if he was even a cat at all?
Nagisa screamed and bolted back to her bed. This had to be a dream. If she just closed her eyes she'd wake back up in the real world where cats didn't-
"Listen to me-mepo!"
She opened her eyes to find him standing at the foot of her bed. She sat up, hugging a stuffed panda close in a feeble attempt to make herself feel better. Saner. "What do you want? What... are you?"
"My name is Mepple-mepo."
"Mepple-mepo?" Nagisa repeated.
"No-mepo. Mepple-mepo."
Nagisa blinked, then nodded her understanding. Maybe he'd go away if she just complied.
"I'm here because I've finally found you, the Legendary Warrior-mepo!"
"Legendary Warrior?" Nagisa said. She'd hardly say a girl in a wrinkled school uniform armed with nothing but a crosse would be something anyone would call a warrior. "I think you've got the wrong-"
"I didn't think you looked anything like what I was looking for-mepo. Until you saved me-mepo! If you didn't take off that bandage I wouldn't be able to talk-mepo!"
"And then where would we be?" Nagisa said dryly.
"Listen-mepo! A strange presence is in the air and it's threatening the city-mepo! I've watched you all day and I'm sure you're the warrior destined to find the Legendary Prism Crystal and the Princess of Light-mepo!"
"The what and the who?" This was getting way too complex. As if a cat being able to talk didn't make things complex enough.
Mepple rolled his eyes, which Nagisa was pretty sure cats weren't supposed to be able to do. "The sacred treasure and the princess of the Garden of Light-mepo!"
"Oh, well, that clears it up," Nagisa said, chuckling in an attempt to depressurize. It didn't work.
Mepple groaned, hopped off the bed, and padded over to the balcony. He pointed up at the sky with a round little paw. "There-mepo!"
Nagisa looked up into the twilight and saw oranges fading to blues but no supposed Garden of Light. "What am I supposed to be looking at?"
"That-mepo! The big white circle with the rabbit on the side-mepo!"
"... You mean the moon?"
"We called it the Garden of Light-mepo," Mepple said, going back inside. Nagisa followed and closed the balcony door before the neighbors started thinking she was crazy. Maybe she was.
"So... you're an alien?"
"I guess, but that's not important-mepo!"
"I beg to differ-"
"Just take this-mepo!" And with that, Mepple suddenly did a high-reaching somersault, leaving behind a trail of sparkling dust that materialized into a white and pink brooch that fell into Nagisa's hands. It was heavy, and it was cute. But it also came out of nowhere!
Nagisa cast the thing onto her bed, freaked beyond belief. "What is happening?!"
Mepple picked up the brooch between his sharp little teeth. Whatever muffled words came out of his mouth, they couldn't have been all that pleasant. But then he dropped it himself, ears perked up. "I sense an evil presence-mepo!"
Nagisa backed away. "A what?"
"Turn on the TV-mepo!"
Nagisa ran into the family room and did as she was told. On the screen flickered live footage of the mall, with policemen trying to break in.
"It seems there is some sort of barrier inside preventing entry into the complex," the news anchor said. "The state of the patrons inside is currently unknown."
The bottom of Nagisa's stomach dropped out. "That's where Shiho and Rina went! Do you think they're still in there?"
"I don't know-mepo! But I know this looks like a job for you-mepo!"
"Me? What am I supposed to do?"
"Put on the brooch and shout, 'Black Prism Power, Make Up'-mepo!"
Nagisa assumed the "mepo" was meant to be left out. "What good'll that do?"
"Just do it-mepo!"
And so, feeling like the kind of fool that announces to a packed train car that she got a thirty percent on a test, Nagisa attached the brooch to her bow tie and shouted, "Black Prism Power, Make Up!"
Her hand shot up without her permission. An instant later, the world around her exploded in blinding rainbow-colored light. She wanted to scream, wriggle, call for help as she was lifted into a void of pure color, but instead her body moved in sweeping, elegant movements in a choreography that she'd never learned. A yelp wished to break through her enforced silence when all clothing except the brooch vanished. Great ribbons of light erupted from the brooch, wrapping around her body in the shape of a leotard, gloves, boots, and a miniskirt. A big bow tied itself just above her backside, earrings clipped themselves into her ears, a choker found its way around her neck. Then a strange, almost searing sensation prickled in the center of her forehead, until a hard metal circlet materialized in place. Finally, her feet touched ground, though still all she saw was nebulous color. Her body struck several battle-ready poses she had no say in striking. But she really started freaking out when her voice started making choices of its own.
"I am the emissary of light that fights for love and for justice! I am Sailor Black! And now, in the name of the Garden of Light..." Her arm snapped forward, pointing a warning finger to no one in particular. "...return to the darkness from which you came!"
She blinked -- Oh, joy, she could blink her own eyelids! -- and the world faded back to her living room.
"...Say what?"
Mepple looked upon her with eyes that saw some champion of justice, as opposed to the middle-schooler in a shrunken black and pink sailor fuku that Nagisa saw when she caught her reflection in a mirror. "Amazing-mepo..." he said. "The Legendary Warrior has awakened right in front of me-mepo!"
"Awakened?"
"Now Sailor Black can finally fulfill her destiny and help restore the Garden of Light to its former glory-mepo!"
"I'm going to what?" Nagisa wanted to press further, suddenly feeling less hugged and more caged by the costume's tight fabric. But the sirens blaring from the television set reminded her there were more pressing matters at hand. "How am I supposed to help Rina and Shiho and everyone like this?" she asked, holding the black skirt's hem between her fingers.
"You are Sailor Black-mepo! You have legendary powers-"
"If you call me 'legendary' one more time..." Nagisa started, simmering on the outside but reeling from how fast this was happening on the inside.
"Never mind that-mepo. Let's go-mepo!" And with that, Mepple ran back to Nagisa's bedroom.
"That's not the way out," Nagisa said, following him. She found him with his front paws on the glass door to her balcony. "Maybe you always land on your feet, but I don't-"
"Do you want to save your friends or not-mepo!"
"I do, I do!"
"Then trust me-mepo!"
Nagisa sighed. She guessed she couldn't exit through the apartment complex's lobby dressed like this. She didn't feel particularly powerful, but if a cat could talk to her and she could change her clothes just by saying a phrase, then maybe she could trust this little guy.
She placed a gloved hand on the handle and slid the door aside in a shuddering motion. "Okay... Okay..." she heaved as she stepped onto the balcony. She'd never before given much thought to how high up the apartment really was. How she'd taken for granted the fact that she knew what the tops of neighboring buildings looked like. She'd never considered having to stand on them!
Part of her wanted to back away, to declare this whole mess some stress-induced fever dream that would all go away once she came back to her senses. But then she thought of her friends' horrified faces, their screams for help, who knows who keeping them in that dark mall to do who knows what.
Next thing she knew, her foot launched herself off the railing and into the newly dark night. The jump sent her farther up than she'd ever thought possible. She bypassed several buildings until her feet touched the roof of some office building. The sole of her boot touched concrete for but a moment before she took to the air yet again.
She wanted to scream but at the same time a euphoria was building inside her. "My body!" she exclaimed to Mepple, who rode her shoulder. "It's so light! And my muscles are so strong!"
"That's the power of the Sailor Guardians-mepo!" he said.
"Guardians? You mean there are others?"
"We'll talk about it later-mepo."
🖤🌙🖤🌙
Perched from her hiding place on yet another roof, Nagisa gathered that the police were trying to break into the mall from every entrance. Some even tried to break the windows, but some unseen force seemed to be keeping the doors shut and rendering the glass unbreakable.
"What kind of glass did they use on that thing?" Nagisa mused.
"These are dark forces at work-mepo. I can sense them-mepo," Mepple said.
"So only someone else with powers can stop whatever's going on here?"
"Yes-mepo."
Nagisa stretched her legs, hardly believing they had been able to make such impossible feats to get up there. "And I guess that person is me?"
"Yes-mepo."
"And what if someone recognizes me?"
"No one will-mepo. You're Sailor Black now-mepo."
"Oh, so people won't recognize me just because I'm in a new outfit?! You know, I'm the only person I know around here who has orange hair-"
Mepple leapt from her shoulder, plunging stories below.
"WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?!" she hollered, following him anyway because she didn't know where else to go. With the place surrounded on all sides and no credentials to get past the cops, Nagisa resolved on the way down to land on the mall's roof. Unintentionally in the best way, she misaimed and ended up crashing through a skylight.
Descending into darkness in a glittering explosion of broken glass, Nagisa -- er -- Sailor Black felt a distinct stab of terror upon realizing she had no idea what she was getting herself into. Or maybe that was just her stomach dropping. She brought her hands in front of her, hoping to soften the fall, but when her hands hit floor she realized she had enough control to cartwheel onto her feet. No time to be impressed, she decided. She needed to find out what the heck was going on. She needed to know Shiho and Rina were alright.
The only light was from the moon, shining through the skylight. Other than the deserted rest area in which she stood, darkness stretched around her on all sides, truly endless. Had Mepple not landed on her head a few seconds later, she may have been paralyzed.
"Would you stop that?" she said, rubbing her head.
Mepple was already on the move. "The dark power! It's this way-mepo!"
Sailor Black sighed and followed. Kiosks, mannequins, garbage cans, so many figures that seemed innocuous in the light now made her heart twinge with dread. Her mind concocted horrible images of the figures she couldn't make out. Then she found one she did.
A body in a Verone uniform, laying crumpled on the floor.
Sailor Black screamed. Mepple sped over to investigate. "She's alive-mepo."
She clapped a hand to her mouth, her scream still echoing through the spacious mall. She hoped that hadn't attracted any unwelcome company.
Mepple stuck his head in a paper bag still in the girl's unconscious clutch. "What's this-mepo? A necklace-mepo?"
"A necklace?" Sailor Black said. That logo on the bag... now that she looked more closely... That was the store Shiho and Rina had been headed! And she knew exactly where it was, even if this place was spookier than usual. "Follow me, Mepple!"
🌙🖤🌙🖤
The sight she was met with a the jewelry store was a horrible one indeed. So, so many bodies littered the floor. Older women lay sprawled alongside schoolgirls no older than Sailor Black. And all their bodies glittered with brand new jewelry.
"What do you think is going on here-mepo?" Mepple asked, sniffing at a ring cast to the floor.
"I don't know, but..." The sinking feeling in Sailor Black's stomach was getting worse by the second. Tip-toeing over girls and women, she scanned around for... Shiho and Rina! They lay together in a heap by a display for friendship bracelets.
"Shiho! Rina!" Sailor Black cried, running for them.
"Shh," Mepple hushed. "Who knows who could be-"
"Who's there?" came a harsh voice. A well-manicured woman stepped out from a back room, paying no mind to the comatose patrons around her. She looked like some sort of store manager. And Sailor Black didn't like her at all.
She looked up from her spot kneeling next to her friends. Each wore one of the friendship bracelets, and it looked like they'd been picking out a third one. "What have you done to them?"
"Why should I care to tell you?" the woman scoffed, heels clacking on the floor closer and closer to her.
Sailor Black picked up the third friendship bracelet, hand shaking. Her eyelids started to droop and her heartrate slowed until she dropped the accessory. "It's the jewelry, isn't it? You're using this jewelry to... to... make everyone fall asleep? Or.. or sick? Or-"
The woman slammed her into the wall with an unnaturally long arm. She held Sailor Black by her neck, her cackling face deteriorating into that of a yellow-eyed monster as she strangled her.
"Mep-" Sailor Black wheezed. "Mepple! Mepple, help!"
Mepple charged for the monster's feet but she kicked him aside.
Sailor Black clawed uselessly at the monster's impossibly strong grip. The air was slowly being crushed out of her lungs. At this rate, she'd-
"Ow!" the monster cried, dropping her. Sailor Black hacked. Stuck in the floor before her was a blue rose. Just as confused as the monster, she looked up.
In the entrance to the store stood a girl in a white top hat, billowing white cape, and a similarly colored blazer and poofy skirt. Her hair shone raven black against the stark white of her costume, and a pale blue mask disguised her face.
"I am Tuxedo White," the girl declared, an identical blue rose playing between her gloved fingers. She snapped a pointed finger in the monster's direction. "Evil servant of the dark power, you will be punished!"
"Not another one," the monster grumbled. She raised her gnarled hands high and bellowed, "Awaken, my slaves, who have given energy to our great ruler!" The patrons on the floor began to twitch, and then to rise from the floor.
Tuxedo White gasped. "Sailor Black, behind you!" she cried.
"AHHH!!!" Sailor Black dove out of the way of an assault from a possessed Shiho just in time, only to almost stumble into a headlock from Rina. "Not you guys, too! Snap out of it, please!" she cried, running around the store.
"You can't stop them by running," Tuxedo White yelled, using a cane to fend off a possessed older woman.
"Do you expect me to attack these people!?" Sailor Black replied. Tuxedo White said something back but Sailor Black didn't hear it because at that point Shiho and Rina had tackled her to the ground. Now, she might have been an athlete, but so were her friends and oh boy did they put up a fight that she wasn't willing to dish back. "AHHHH!!! GET OFF OF ME! GET OFF OF ME!" It was enough to get her to start tearing up. As her vision blurred, the friendship bracelets on her friends' wrists glimmered back at her as the monster's cackling echoed through the store...
They'd had a third bracelet with them...
Had it been for her? Her friends had known how rough a day she'd had and they had tried to cheer her up. And this was the thanks they got? Possessed by this horrible... whatever this lady was? It was enough to make her blood broil.
She threw Shiho and Rina off of her (she'd check on them later) and stood straight up. "You..." she seethed at the monster. "How DARE you take advantage of the friendships of young girls!" She bound towards the monster. Her fist connected with the monster's jaw. "You are an enemy to girls and women everywhere!" Another punch sent the monster careening into a wall. "What you've done is unforgivable!"
"Sailor Black-mepo!" Mepple shouted. "Throw your tiara at her and shout 'Black Tiara Action'-mepo!"
Sailor Black was too angry to ask why. She ripped the tiara from her forehead and instinctively knew what to do. She twirled the tiara around her, felt it crackle and glow with black electricity. Then she threw it like a flying disk, shouting "Black Tiara Action!"
The tiara hit the monster with a crack of thunder, ripping through her body. The monster let out a final screech as she turned to shimmering moondust. Her tiara boomeranged back into her hands, leaving her speechless.
"Did I... do that? No way..."
"You've done well, Sailor Black," Tuxedo White said, bowing.
Sailor Black scratched the back of her head. "I should say the same to you. Thanks for helping me out back there."
Tuxedo White gave a little smile. "Of course. Well, until next time... Farewell!" And she left with a swish of her cape.
🖤🌙🖤🌙
"And when we woke up, the place was a mess!" Rina said.
"Yeah, it's true! You're, like, so so so lucky you weren't there!" Shiho added.
"But I could've sworn I'd seen someone fight the store manager. She saved us, I think!"
"Wow. Really?" Nagisa droned, forehead plastered to her desk. Between getting chewed out for the failed test, getting double chewed out for not doing her homework, and having almost died secretly saving a mall from a monster attack the night before, she was past the point of actually absorbing anything her friends were saying.
"Yeah, it's crazy! She's like a superhero or something! I think she said her name was... um..."
"Sailor Black?" Nagisa mumbled.
"That's it!" Shiho said.
Nagisa moved her head to the side. "Cool."
"Anyway, that's why we couldn't get those friendship bracelets," Rina explained. "But it's okay, because Shiho stayed up last night making these!" She and Shiho held up three little silver charms, each shaped like a bunny sitting on a crescent moon. Shiho handed the one painted with pink accents to Nagisa.
"Here you go!" Shiho said. "I figured something made by me would be more meaningful anyway, y'know? We were... hoping we could cheer you up!"
Nagisa smiled at the gift and held it to her chest. "It did," she said, smiling through her tired eyes. "Thanks, you guys. Really."

Hitoshi~
💜 Hitoshi is a Slytherin, not because he’s evil, because he has determination, drive ambition. Even if he looks so tired and uncaring, he’s is giving 100% to become the best he can. Now, we all know, no Slytherin is complete without their emotional support Hufflepuff. 💜The first time you met him, you weren’t sure, kinda scared, he gave off a slightly intimidating vibe, and well, you had just been assigned a project together. He was staring at you not saying anything, it became a stand off. You swallowed and (great words of all might~) clenched your butt cheeks and kinda loudly blurted out your name. “I’m (L/n) (Y/n)! It’s a strange name for Japan so just call me y/n!” You were smiling with your eyes closed but you felt your heart in your throat and kinda sick. He didn’t care still, “Hitoshi Shinso, let’s just get this over with. If you don’t want to do the work I’ll do it, just tell me.” Well you blurted out again but not as loud, “No! I’ll do my part! What are we partners for if your going to take the work and stress! It’s only fair!” The look he gave you was slightly bewildered before he went back to his normal expression. “If you want.” 💜 After getting your grade you two had made just one point away from a perfect score, definitely the highest in class, so when it came to group projects you had become a lot more attractive to those who wanted an easy grade, but what shook them to THE CORE, was the fact you’d ignore them and plop down right next to SHINSO. “So, another project.” You held out the paper to him with a closed eye smile. You could feel his stare and almost felt like an idiot until you felt the paper leave your hand, you relaxed both internally and externally with a sigh. He looked at you again and then back at the paper reading what you’d given him. Sadly for him, he didn’t know this was your ticket to jump on the friendship Express. Que the montage of different projects and study times in the library to find information. 💜 “Hitoshi! Look! A week of work done with another perfect score!” You ran up to Shinso holding the paper that held your grade, he looked at it and was about to talk until you cut him off, “So! To celebrate! I’m going to treat you to a relaxing weekend!” You linked your arm with his and pulled him with you, he wanted to resist but he’d learned early in the friend ship that it is very much in fact ✨impossible✨ 💜 For the first time, you’d have Shinso come over to your dorm, without class work to back it up. It was completely new to him, a new sight, not he didn’t direct his stare solely to work, but now he walked in head level and looked around noticing small things he’d never noticed before. The wooden book case that had school books messily stacked, while the other shelves were neatly filled with old movies, manga, and little figures, the fairy lights around the doors to the balcony and the curtain of lights that had stars placed behind an ombré blue sheer curtain. The light blue thick duvet that had the pattern of metallic stars and moons, the mountain of pillows, but the one thing he noticed over all, were the plants he could see sitting outside on your balcony. Black prince succulents, a white rose bush in bloom, stems of lavender and lilac, star lilies and regular green plants just hanging from the balcony above you, he notice a stool that had three small cacti. He realized then, there is a lot more to you then what he sees in class.
“Good morning Hitoshi!” You greeted him as you took your regular seat behind his. “Hm?” He barely looked over his shoulder to side he you, “oh, good morning.” You gave him a smile and he didn’t really smile but every now and then you’d see a small quirk in his lip and assumed it meant a smile. So you’d take what you could get from the bed head boy.
“Are you excited?” You asked in a low voice leaning forward on your desk.
“For what?” He leaning back into his seat no longer wanting to strain his neck to look over his shoulder.
“This weekend! I said we’re going to celebrate! It Friday! So tomorrow is the day! You better be ready! Because it’s going to be the works!” You started to cheer yourself on for the celebration you’d planned.
“It sounds tiresome.” He tried to play it off.
“It will be if you resist, so just go with it Toshi.” Your lips pulled into a small smile, eyes filling with a slight glow.
“Alright, tell me when we have time.” He propped he left hand on the back of his neck, he stopped when the teacher walked in announcing class to start.

“Over here!” I shouted trying to get Shinso’s attention before he could leave.
He turned to look at me, I smiled, his lips turned into a scowl but his eyes held a different feeling, it wasn’t noticeable, but I managed to catch it, I’m definitely the main character of my life.
“Alright, where are we going?” He asked before I even opened the door.
“I told you it’s a surprise! Sooo,” I opened the door, “Just walk with me for now.”
He stepped out and I started to lead the way, we walked in comfortable silence to town making it in a ten minute walk.
“So! I don’t know if you really care for them, but there’s this inside garden cafe place, and I heard it’s really cool, and it’s five star rating, and I know you like coffee so I wanted to bring you here!” I pulled him by his sleeve to a stop so we could face a large white building.
The front sign read “ボタニカルカフェ” Botanical Cafe. He looked at it, the front windows had displays of colorful flowers and types of coffee pre bagged, behind them large hedges to block out the rest.
“Alright I’m interested.” He said and I smiled, “Great!”
I opened the door and let him enter first, he gave me a weird look but walked in. We stood at the door until a lady came and told us, “You can sit in front behind these hedges or go through the back where the patio is.” She had a kind smile and motioned towards the room, it was beautiful, the inside was white brick, and vines were climbing up the walls, wild flowers hanging from the ceiling and rails, a small waterfall that fed into a koi pond, stand and book shelves with flowers and other things, but the best part, were the blue green and yellow budgies flying around and chirping when they would land on a swing or onto an unsuspecting person. They were precious, but I wanted to see the outside, “Where do you want to sit?” I turned to ask Shinso, he looked around and then towards the back, “How about outside?” He asked and I nodded, “Sounds good!”
We walked through the room and I stopped to pet a budgie sitting on a low book shelf it fluffed you and started chirping. I couldn’t stop, it was so cute. But eventually we made it out, and the place was beautiful! It had a mesh roof, but the space was huge! Thick green hedges with different wild flowers, in the center a three tier fountain with two budgies bathing, around it a circle of rose bushes, the floor was made of different bricks, the tables were simple thin cement type benches and tables. So many flower pots and the most beautiful flowers were everywhere! Along the mesh were Edison bulb light, the formed a circle skeins the fountain and then headed out to every corner. But what took it next level were the monarch,Blue morpho, Luna moths and Dragon tail butterfly! They fluttered around and I could help but think how beautiful they really were up close.
“Do you see this?!” I was asking to loudly luckily no one else was there.
I turned to look at Hitoshi, his jaw propped on his hand that leaned on the table, his eyes were lidded and now I could tell he had a faint smile. The corners of his lips were turned up, even if it wasn’t bit, it was nice. I smiled at him closing my eyes for a brief second before opening them to the sight of Hitoshi still smiling but this time he had a Morpho buttery on his hair just sitting there enjoying the rest.
I smiled faintly at the sight, “don’t move.” I pulled out my phone and took his picture sending it to him. He pulled out his phone to look at it, and the smile never left his lips. For that, I’m great full.
“So, what can I get for you two?” The voice broke me out of my staring trance, “Oh! We’ve never been here actually! It’s our first time.”
“Oh! Let me give you two these menus, I’ll be back in a few minutes to get your order, if you have or need change we have these small coin machines that sell butterfly food.” She pointed to a black box by the door and I nodded, “Thank you.”
We looked at the menus and I watched Shinso, he still had the same smile and I couldn’t help but stare, I’d never seen him smile genuinely, but this, this is nice. I feel like I’m over staring, but, you don’t just watch your favorite movie one time right?
“What are you getting?” I nodded at the question before looking at my menu, “No ide- Boba!” I pointed my menu, “Ah, milk tea, the best of both drinks, milk, and tea.” I looked though the flavors and after figuring out what I wanted I asked Hitoshi, “What are you going to get?”
“A coffee.” Simple answer. “Food?” I asked, he only shrugged.
“Alright then.” I mumbled and shrugged, “I’ll order!”
Just as I declared it that waiter asked, “What will you be ordering?” I jumped a bit and smiled sheepishly, “Honey Dew Avon’s milk tea with Mango bubble, he wants a coffee, also two milk bread curry buns and two orders of Takoyaki please.”
We ate and left, after I smothered a few budgies, and kissed a few budgie heads and made Hitoshi take a few pictures.
“Sooo, Hitoshi, tell me something about yourself? You don’t talk much.” I shrugged and stuffed one of my hands into my jackets pocket mimicking him the other hosing my left over boba.
“What is there to know?” He asked looking down at the sidewalk ahead of us.
“I don’t know? Your favorite flower? Color? What you do for fun? Biggest fear? Interests? Dreams? Hogwarts house? Idols? Movies? Anything really, we can both talk, you tell me something and I’ll tell you something.” He side eyed me, a crack of a smile before he started.
During the time I managed to steer us into my favorite shop to buy snacks and drink, followed by an anime shop, and few other places. I ended up buying Shinso a Purple Pearl Echeveria and a small pot of lilac flowers. We carried them back, I held the flowers while he held the Echeveria, I watch him touch the thick leaves? He seemed so amazed by it. But what I liked more than the flower was his smile, it was goofy, his eyes were still lidded but crinkled when he smiled. This is probably the biggest I’ve been seen him smile and will probably ever see him smile. I smiled down at the flowers in my hands, I’m glad, I didn’t know this would make him happy, I just wanted to treat him for working so hard and being a fair partner. But, it definitely makes me feel better knowing he enjoyed it and it wasn’t as forced as he made it seem.
“Well, the suns setting so what’s next before we head back?” His deepish voice pulled me out of my thoughts and I smiled, “Well, I was actually going to end it with a movie, I prepped my dorm because the movie theaters get way to stuffy for my liking, so! Let drop off your new plants before we watch a movie! I have a few good ones picked out!”

"Every man is surrounded by
a neighborhood of voluntary spies."
┈┈┈┈․° ☣ °․┈┈┈┈ 02 おじいちゃんシュウ (grandpa shū)
"IT'S MUCH FURTHER?" UNMEI ASKED, LOOKING AROUND.
The Kamino district in Yokohama, despite the late hour, was full of life. The shops still had their shutters raised, even restaurants and bars were in full swing.
Overlooking the sidewalks with pinkish tiles were only commercial activities and some frightened offices. The houses were far from that area. And Unmei could easily understand why.
In Kamino, there was no distinction between night and day. The neighborhood vibrated with life: whether it was the shouts of excited children shopping just out of school or the drunken laughter once the sun went down, there was little difference.
In that neighborhood, every sense was amplified to the point of no longer knowing where to look. Unmei glanced at the groups of people she could glimpse between one building and another, where some secondary alley overlooked the street.
Kamino district was a strange choice for a headquarters.
The streets were always crowded and, as much as she and the man who had introduced himself as Twice, were carefully avoiding the main road, there was still the possibility that some passersby could see them moving in the shadow.
Her eyes lingered once more on his companion's back, the suit stretched with each step on the sculpted muscles, adhering like a second skin. The fabric didn't creak like the cheap clothes of the little criminals who could not afford anything else.
No. The group that Twice claimed to be part of was undoubtedly not unwary.
Probably the choice to hide in a commercial district had been considered. The continuous exchange of activities would have made their come and go unnoticed. Moreover, in such a large neighborhood with such a massive turnout of people and new faces, their presence would have gone unnoticed, hidden between tourists and customers visiting the area.
Unmei had only heard rumors about the League of Villains. It was a whispered name, in the darkest alleys. The most disparate gossip had spread across them.
Some insinuated that Stain was part of it before being arrested and disappeared from circulation, others believed that it was an unscrupulous and unregulated madman who commanded it. The most skeptical were convinced that it no longer existed, given the blow received after the attack on the USJ.
Of course, Unmei would now find out the truth about them. And she had to admit that she was rather curious about them.
That type of organized crime was rare. Usually, the most extensive criminal groups were foiled even before they could succeed in their first venture, the League of Villains instead, not only had managed to gather under their control more than fifty criminals, but they had had the audacity and the possibility of attack one of the most prestigious high schools of heroes in the country. And apparently, their boss had managed to escape capture.
And given the interest in her, he was looking for recruits.
An inviting scent of octopus teased her nostrils. Somewhere there must have been a Takoyaki kiosk.
That delicious smell reached her like a boulder to her stomach, reminding her that she hadn't dined yet.
She looked crookedly at the man walking in front of her as he juggled the back streets that lined the main street of the commercial district.
"Hey you, I asked a question," repeated Unmei, raising her voice more "It's not like you're lost, huh?"
"LOST?! Me? NEVER!" Twice cried, startled, in the deepest and harshest voice that the girl had understood to be his most aggressive and unpredictable personality.
"A little more patience, Unmei-chan" the gentle voice informed her, Twice turned slightly, winking at her "We are almost there, but first we just have to make a small detour."
Unmei frowned, ignoring the nickname and wondering what prompted her to accept such a proposal from such a strange guy.
She was still alert, ready for any man's move. As far as she knew, that of the League of Villains could be a bait to catch her in a trap.
Ever since she had managed to make her way into the underworld, laboriously sewing a name among the best thieves in the city, tranquility had only been a mirage.
There was no honor among the criminals and, by killing her, some idiot was convinced that he could become famous or take possession of her customers by trying to cut short the apprenticeship and the hard work necessary to survive in that cruel world of criminals. But at the moment, Unmei had shown that getting her out of the way was not that easy.
She had worked hard to be where she was and would not have allowed some too self-confident rookie to ruin everything.
The smell of octopus was more intense now, and Unmei could feel her mouth fill with saliva at the thought of it.
Her frustration was about to cry out again against Twice, worsened by the sense of emptiness that had gripped her stomach, when, turning the corner, they found themselves in front of what seemed like a mirage to Unmei.
"We will stop here for a second before we go to our destination!" the masked man informed her, stepping aside to show her better the small stall wedged in a corner between one building and another.
It was small and dug inside the cement. A colored sign of shiny fabric, with a fat angry octopus drawn, waved above it, hiding the face of the man who was skillfully turning small fish balls in the pan.
Swirls of smoke came from the sides of the small shop filling the narrow alley with the inviting smell of fish.
Unmei's eyes widened, and her mouth remained ajar for a moment, "A Takoyaki kiosk?" she asked, confused, returning to stare at her strange companion, frowning. "Was this the deviation?"
Twice nodded, proud of himself, raising the index finger of his right hand, "You didn't have dinner, didn't you Unmei-chan?"
"As if I don't give a damn!" shouted the other himself, but Twice ignored him.
"Don't worry, he's an old friend," the man reassured her, pointing to the figure hidden by the sign "he'll keep our secret," he added, bringing his index finger over the mask, where his lips should have been.
Unmei continued to stare at him, trying to figure out if he was catching her or if it was just a trap. When Twice saw that the girl did not even take a step towards the kiosk, he preceded her, "Come on, I'm starving."
"Ungrateful!"
Unmei took a few more moments before deciding to move forward and follow that curious man with an uncertain step, checking the surroundings to be sure that someone would suddenly not attack her from behind.
"Grandpa!" Twice's gentle voice rang in the alley when his face disappeared covered by the kiosk sign.
"Old bastard!" muttered the roughest voice.
"Oh, Jin... are you passing by or on business?" a third voice joined the other two. It was rough and croaking, so low that Unmei could barely hear it above the sizzle of the grill.
The girl lifted a flap of the sign with her arm, carefully studying the kiosk interior. It looked like a typical stall like the ones on the main roads. And its owner must have been as old as it was.
He was short; to get to the pans, he was forced to climb onto a small stool. His calloused and wrinkled hands moved expertly on the grill and cutting the ingredients, sometimes without even needing to look.
His face seemed kind and friendly, but Unmei had learned never to trust first impressions.
He might have looked like a normal old man, grey bald and aching, bent over himself with bone pain, but the speed with which his fingers and hands juggled that platform made it clear that he wasn't as harmless as he wanted to believe.
"Business, I'm taking a friend for a visit, and she was starving," Twice informed him, sitting down on one of the stools. When he got into his chair, he let out a sigh of relief, stretching his back with an exaggerated movement.
In that short time with him, the girl had understood that he was an extraordinarily theatrical and melodramatic type. As if the dual personality was not enough.
Perhaps noticing her gaze fixed on him, Twice turned to the young woman, gesturing for her to sit next to him, clapping the wooden seat with one hand. "Don't be shy, Unmei-chan."
Unmei lingered a second, looking around one last time.
"Don't worry," the old man reassured her, Unmei looked at him sideways "nobody will hurt you here, you're safe" he continued while checking the cooking of the Takoyaki, without even raising his eyes on her.
The girl's lips raised in a mocking smile "Safe you said?" she repeated, sitting down "There is no safe place in this world" she corrected him starting to wrinkle in her pockets "but I guess I have no other choice, isn't it?" asked, glancing between Twice and the old man.
"Rude! Does this seem like a way to talk to an elderly person ?!" the man croaked from under the mask, beating a fist on the table in front of them, forgetting that shortly before he had given him the 'old bastard' "There is no more respect!"
Twice turned to the owner of the stall "Excuse her, Old Shu, she is not the type who gives confidence" the most gentle voice justified scratching his cheek with the forefinger over the mask "But she is not wrong, we have known each other for twenty minutes "
"And I still don't trust you," Unmei added, glancing at him.
Old Shu gave her a wrinkled smile. "I hope you will at least trust the food," and with those words, he served two portions of Takoyaki in front of them at a speed that Unmei's eyes struggled to follow "Or they will be wasted."
"Enjoy your meal!" Twice rejoiced, moving excitedly over the stool to the point of swinging it.
"I hope you choke on it!"
By now, Unmei no longer paid attention to that duality. It was amazing how easily she got used to his presence. And she didn't like this thing at all.
She took one last look at the steaming plate in front of her. Five golden octopus patties, skillfully modeled, were arranged on a paper package. Each of them was skewered in the center by a toothpick.
Now that they were in front of her, the scent they gave seemed even more inviting. And her stomach, which rumbled loudly, seemed to agree.
"So gross!" commented Twice's croaking voice beside her on hearing that low sound, Unmei decided to ignore it.
Finally, though not yet convinced, she grabbed one of the toothpicks between her fingers and brought the food to her lips, sniffing it one last time. No alarm bell rang in her head, so she decided to give in.
She gave it a little taste. The meat was crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, melting on the tongue. She felt her cheeks flare as she took the first bite down.
She had never heard of such good Takoyaki.
The low and loud laugh of the Old Shu made her jump "Judging from your expression they must have liked you" he pressed his elbow on the counter "I opened this activity that I was a little older than you" he told her by thinning his eyelids, losing himself in the memories "Not that I had a lot of choices, in this society, it is not very clear who has a dirty record."
"Old Shu is a 'Lookout,'" Twice explained to her, folding the edge of the mask under his nose to eat one of the Takoyaki. When he spoke again he was still chewing "He pretends to be a normal trader but is in direct contact with us, he keeps an eye on what happens on the street, the movements of the police or criminal gangs and reports everything to us."
Unmei looked back at the cook, lifting a corner of her lips. "I knew you weren't telling me right, old man," he shrugged the accusation, completely heedless, while Unmei continued to taste her Takoyaki.
"We do what is necessary to survive," Shu justified himself before nodding towards the girl's pocket. "Are you going to let your friend out or not?"
Unmei stiffened, taken aback.
Twice stopped with her, a Takoyaki still raised in midair and half-eaten "EH?!"
Unmei and Old Shu stared at each other for a moment that seemed almost infinite before the girl looked away, her lips pursed in a half-smile as she sighed, "You are a keen observer."
"It's my job."
Unmei pulled her hand from the pocket. On her palm, intent on munching on the piece of octopus that the girl had passed him a short time before, believing she was not seen, was sitting a small humanoid creature. His body was dark and soft, made of shadow; the only thing distinguishable were the eyes—two bright yellow spheres.
Twice almost fell off the stool, horrified to recognize him "EEK! It is the thing that almost killed me!" he shouted.
In response, the little creature stared at him for a brief moment before returning to eat his dinner happily.
"KILL IT!" shouted the most aggressive voice, but Unmei scolded him.
"He is Umbra"
"Very original..." Twice muttered in his usual rasping voice, the girl ignored him.
Unmei stroked the little creature's head, who, in response, made a sound very similar to a joyful squeak.
Old Shu nodded, studying the little guy, "A Mutant Quirk."
The girl nodded. "He can merge and use the shadows to block his opponents," she confirmed "His size and power decrease if there is too much light. He can also change his body as he likes taking the shape that best suits him."
Twice nodded. "This explains many things," he murmured cryptically, crossing his arms over the chest "I didn't know that your Quirk was anything like that."
Unmei ate another octopus meatball, shrugging, "A girl must be ready and have some tricks up her sleeve to protect herself."
"DON'T SAY IT WITH A SO INNOCENT FACE! WITCH!" the more aggressive 'I' of Twice pointed her out.
"How nice..." the other voice murmured, putting both hands on his cheeks, waving his body back and forth.
Old Shu handed a whole octopus meatball to the little Umbra, who accepted it by emitting another happy squeak. Umbra almost lost his balance in grasping it, being nearly as big as it in his current form. In the end, he dropped down to sit only to be able to sink his face on the food again, starting to chew it.
Unmei smiled and, at that moment, almost forgot why she had been brought there. She could almost believe the words of that strange old man.
You are safe here.
Those words sounded so strange and alien in a world like that.
"Old Shu is a safe haven" Twice went on, lowering the mask on his face again, covering it entirely. "If you have a problem, you can turn to him. It's a sort of 'human cell phone,' if you can't contact us, he will find a way to you, "he explained, standing up.
Unmei rearranged Umbra inside the bomber's pocket "I have not yet accepted to join the League of Villains."
"Bitch!"
"It doesn't matter" Twice reassured her by raising his arms and shrugging her shoulders, then, with a theatrical gesture, he raised his index finger "And then I'm sure you will eventually accept, your goals are not very different from ours."
Unmei let that last statement run. How could he be so sure?
"Goodbye, Old Shu," Unmei greeted him, following Twice out of the kiosk.
The elder replied with a nod of his head before returning to cook, "At the next Unmei. I'm sure we'll meet again."

Note
May we have some SFW Shoot headcanons, please? 😊
You just said the magic word. 💓 This is just going to be a bunched up list of ideas and other things I've thought of over the past year and now. I literally have notepads full of things about my sweet Shoot.
Tumblr media
There's the usual headcanon where Shoot, since losing his left arm for unknown reasons, ends up using his Nen hands to help him do little things around the house, like braiding his hair in the mornings, holding his book while he reads, grabbing things on the top shelves even if he's tall enough to reach with his right. He doesn't even need to use his left hands, but It's a little habit of his when he isn't thinking.
Before Shoot was able to use his Nen, he lost his arm. He was left sad, weak, in pain, defeated. Defeated because of the fact that he had so much struggle trying to only use his right arm. Luckily, that's his dominant. Maybe he created the left hands to make up for what he lost, but also using it as an advantage when fighting. (I remember seeing this old fanart of Shoot where the artist headcanoned that when Shoot lost his arm, it was cut into three pieces. I always thought that was interesting to me.)
Now that I'm typing all of this, maybe Shoot made Hotel Rafflesia first before his hands? I don't know. I've never thought of that until just now. I only assumed he had made them at the same time. Maybe he created one ability before the other, depending on how he was trying to go about it at the time through his life.
Shoot is more of a serious, quiet person, but even around Knuckle and Morel, gradually Knov and the others, and even with a significant other, he'll loosen up. When he's more comfortable around them, especially Knuckle or a significant other, he'll make his own comments or smile and laugh at something they say. It's captivating when he breaks out into a smile or laugh, which he has a habit of covering with his hand.
Him and Knuckle actually do a little bit of everything together. It doesn't help that they have the same teacher together, but they end up hanging out quite often, either by themselves or with Morel and company. Or just Morel, since he takes them out frequently in between breaks or after missions. Sometimes they still clash from being different people, but they are such good friends. They're like brothers. They really do care for each other so, so much.
(The Hunter Four) Shoot and Knuckle are best friends, of course, but he would also get along with Kite really well. Kite would enjoy how soft spoken Shoot was, and even if he's quiet, he's relaxed around Kite. They both have that relaxing atmosphere. Kite and Shoot would get to talking about all of the different things they've done as hunters, with Shoot learning a lot from Kite's stories.
(The Hunter Four) Shoot doesn't speak to other hunters at all much, only to his small circle Morel has cut out. But if he were to meet Hanzo, they would be sweet friends with different dynamics. Hanzo is a little more outgoing and talkative, while Shoot is more quiet and introverted. Shoot enjoys talking to Hanzo and listening to what he has to say always. Hanzo brings out his smile when he gets to rambling on about whatever, even if it's about something completely random, and it makes him happy that he wants to listen, even wanting to engage more often. At least he wasn't annoying him. Hanzo found Shoot to be intimidating at first, almost not becoming friends at first due to how scary he looked. That was poor judgement though! Hanzo of course just came up politely and started speaking to him, and Shoot found him to be so nice and friendly. Same with Hanzo.
Shoot tends to get much more quiet than normal when he's sad, keeping to himself and bottling up his emotions. It isn't the best thing, but he doesn't want to bother anyone with his feelings. He's suppose to be strong after all! If you compare him to Knuckle, he and him are the same when they are emotional. It will pour out of them when that barrier stopping them will break apart as they do. If someone asked him if someone was wrong or if he's okay, he'll actually try to tell them he's fine, and not to worry over him. Even with close ones like Morel and Knuckle, despite being more open with them. But when he's breaking down and at his lowest, darkest point, he would tell people to go away. He feels awful when he does that though, he really doesn't mean to do it. He just needs a little space to take deep breaths and let his troubles out of him. When someone does help him through these times, either just sitting and keeping beside him, maybe rubbing his back or hugging him comfortingly, he is incredibly thankful that he didn't make them mad or hurt them for being too emotional.
Whenever Shoot is happy in any way, his has the sweetest smile on his face. (He deserves to be happy. His smile is so cute and warm.) If something makes him laugh, he has a rather small laugh, but sometimes will either hum quietly or pop out loudly. It just depends on what gets to him more. For the most part, his happiness is shown through his eyes and lips. The soft look in his eyes and the soft quirk of the corners of his mouth will definitely show how happy he is, even if it isn't a toothy wide grin compared to someone like Knuckle.
Shoot doesn't get violent at all when he's angry. I can definitely see him as the scary, quiet type. In the series, he isn't openly angry or raises his voice at all. He would raise his voice rarely, but it's still quiet. He tries to keep calm and collective when he feels like this, which is surprising considering how some other feelings affect him.
As he travels with work, he ends up either staying with Morel in many different places, or staying with Morel at his little rented home. Most of them are little hotel rooms which are shared with Knuckle. renting an area with multiple rooms ends up being more expensive, and Morel tends to try and save money a bit. Regardless, he always tries to keep his living space clean. No trash anywhere, no throwing clothes or anything on the floor. It makes him feel better when there's no clutter. If he has his own stuff with him, he's not the best organizer but he does try to keep things together. He's more of a tidy person, and always cleans up after himself. When it comes to Morel's rented home, he honestly doesn't know what to do when he has his own bedroom. The only thing he would keep is a closet full of clothes that barely takes up the space, and some books. His room would always look so bare.
Some of his favorite foods are a lot of egg, noodle, or chicken/pork based meals. I've always thought that he would enjoy breakfast food and coffee. He would like traditional tonkatsu ramen or maybe sushi whenever he goes out for food. (Meve, what do you think Shoot's favorite sushi would be? Rainbow roll keeps coming to mind. 🍣❤) If at home, a simple bowl of curry, omelette rice, or stir fry. Enjoys vegetables greatly. Fruit, too. He isn't picky with anything. I think he would really like fried foods, too! Like takoyaki and dumplings, and seafood pancakes.
Absolutely loves cooking. For him, it's relaxing and fun. His favorite things to cook are breakfast, fried rice, and a lot of other Japanese foods. Also has a talent for baking when he wants to bake any treats. He's a sucker for some fresh baked chocolate chip cookies, or a small vanilla cake.
(Self-indulgent) I believe Shoot would be a really nice singer, as far as Yuuji Ueda's music sounds. Just as lovely as his natural speaking voice. It's soft and low, but can get a little higher. He never sings out loud when no one is around him though, so no one has ever heard him. Only in private. He hums along to songs and tunes when he isn't thinking though. Knuckle has actually caught him singing softly to himself in another room, he just doesn't know it.
With how quiet and reserved Shoot appears to be, you find the times sitting in a complete, comfortable silence with him is what makes your times with him special. Both of you don't need to talk constantly or anything. If you both run out of things to say, you or him could always speak up later if you or him wanted to. If you were taking a walk or just outside to get some fresh air, the birds, residents, or the ocean/river banks are the things speaking to the both of you for now. You never find Shoot's silence awkward or boring. It's always soothing. You do enjoy when you get to listen to him speak though. He finds himself speaking much more than what he usually does with you though.
Whenever Shoot seems to find himself wanting to ask someone he likes out, he has no idea how to go about it. He's going crazy over the idea in the first place. The man is so shy that he is just silently battling his own mind in worry, until Knuckle suggests his own ideas to him. His friend of course tries to help in his own way. Knuckle thinks he's a wingman, much to Shoot's annoyance. He appreciates his help, he truly does, until Knuckle suddenly shouts, "You just gotta tell them how you feel, fool! If you don't, then I will!!" Shoot immediately stops him before he could reach you first, and that's how he finally asks you out. He is a nervous mess, but he sees how nervous they are, which eases his nerves just a bit. At least Knuckle didn't blurt out that Shoot was in love with them or something. That would have been really embarrassing.
Or Shoot would eventually find his way to them naturally, quietly admitting how much he really likes them. The man has the strength to overcome fears. Even if they approached him first, if the time was just right, Shoot could do it.
Shoot is incredibly affectionate whenever in a relationship with someone he truly cares about. When comfortable enough, he wants to be around them or as close as possible to them, both in public and in private. In public, he just likes to sit beside you, even hold your hand or place his hand on your thigh. He gets a little shy when it comes to PDA, but he will give you a small kiss to the forehead or lips when he sees you. In private, he just wants to be as close as he physically can, wrapping his arm around them, maybe even snuggling up while sitting or cuddling close together in bed. He just loves sweet physical gestures like that. If his partner were super affectionate like he shyly is, then he actually melts. The man feels loved. He wants you to feel the same way he does when he's with you.
Shoot, in a relationship, is very romantic. He's secretly a hopeless romantic with certain things. Holding your hand, giving kisses to your forehead and cheeks, it's the little intimate things that he absolutely loves to do with you. Intimacy actually makes him melt. He enjoys writing you letters from time to time to surprise you, especially on anniversaries. He's also a flowers type of man, he would absolutely love buying flowers for his significant other. I can just imagine him staring into someone's eyes, telling them how much he means to him and how happy he is they're in his life, all while holding their hand and rubbing his thumb tenderly on their knuckles. When he's just himself, he can be very suave and romantic in his own ways without even realizing it.
He also does that thing where he'll just...stare and admire you, either into your eyes or at your lips, rubbing his thumb over the bottom of your lip. It's just the little things. It's the little things that will get to him, but he also does them to his significant other.
Sadly, Shoot wouldn't see his significant other often. Since he travels for work, being gone for various periods of time that vary from mission to mission, he has to leave from time to time. When he does finish a mission and has the time to do so, he is coming right back to see you, even if it's just for a handful of hours. Sometimes if he can't see you during work, he'll call you for a brief chat, checking to see if you were alright and how you had been doing while being apart. I think Shoot would be that type of person that would make time for you. It's nice that Morel has a little home Knuckle and himself go back to after their work is done, otherwise you may never see him.

BNHA Fic: Blink! Ch. 18
Read Ch. 17 | Masterlist
SPOILER ALERT: It’s the day of the Festival! In the main story, there were parts that were more focused on Midoriya. So this version will focus on the school ground’s point of view while that was going on.
This chapter was particularly hard to write, given all the moving parts. But I think the end product came out well.
Tumblr media
The day of the culture festival finally arrived after months of preparation. Students of U.A. scattered about, tending to their tasks for the day. Class 2-A finished their stage preparations earlier than planned and had some free time to wander around before curtain call. Ren walked around with Tomoe and Seri, visiting the food stands for sustenance before heading over to 1-A’s performance.
“I hope the show goes well for them,” Ren mumbled and placed her hand over her chest, trying to steady her palpitating heartbeat.
“They’ll be fine,” Tomoe blurted out before finishing her serving of takoyaki. “Those first years are more than capable.”
“I agree,” Seri added and took a small bite of her crepe. “This is merely a small bump in the road for them.”
The pink-haired girl smirked and looked up at the sun shining up in the autumn sky.
“Yeah… you’re right.”
Making their way to the gym, the three were amazed to see how quickly the place filled up.
“Wow… there really was a lotta hype behind ‘em huh,” Tomoe said and looked around in amazement. Ren saw Aizawa-sensei and Present Mic leaning on the back wall to the far right of them. She also managed to pick out three heads from the crowd; they were the third years from the general studies who were shit-talking her juniors. Probably here to ruin the show, she thought.
But she had faith the first years will have the power to change their hearts and opinions.
Only they could do it.
The whole room immediately went dark and everyone’s excitement was building. A literal explosion from Bakugou’s drums and sound roused the crowd, followed by the light show to cue the dancers in.
“Thank you all for coming!” Jiro cheerful voice reverberated through the entire hall as their performance went underway. Everyone’s hard work and efforts all came together in this one moment. Ren looked around to see the audience’s faces light up with joy and elation as they cheered loudly.
The effects team outdid themselves by using Todoroki and Kirishima’s quirk to its fullest by making shaved ice into sparkles that complimented Aoyama’s Navel Laser hitting the mirror ball. Streamers were replaced with Sero’s tape cascading down and around the roof. Show goers who tapped Uraraka’s hands were lifted up in the air and secured by the tape above to ensure their safety. And Iida was continuously doing the robot dance on the edge of the stage.
Just as the show started, it ended with a big enough bang to blow away everyone’s darkness and doubt.
“Well done, 1-A,” Ren said to herself and wiped a proud tear from her eye and crossed her arms.
“Well, shit. We can’t lose now,” Tomoe said within an earshot. She looked up at her tall friend with fire in her eyes.
“Yes, we can’t let them outshine their seniors,” Seri concurred. “We’re up next.”
The girls looked at each other and nodded before turning their heels toward Gamma Gym to prepare. Ren was only able to get a glimpse of the beauty pageant with Nejire-senpai putting on her performance before running back in for make-up and costume. As the sun slowly set, it was nearly time for the curtains to go up for 2-A.
“Uwah, I’m getting nervous,” one of the students quivered out.
“Don’t say that! You’re gonna make me nervous!” Ito shouted.
Ren looked around and saw one of her other classmates writing “person” repeatedly on her palm*. Frankly speaking, she was nervous as hell too and kept herself occupied by rehearsing the footwork to her dance routine.
She had to focus up.
There were people who were coming who were important to her.
“C’mon guys! It’s almost time!” Jiro shouted and ran through the scattered crowds. “2-A’s performance is gonna start!”
“You sure are excited ‘bout it, Kyoka-chan,” Uraraka chimed in happily and ran alongside.
“Of course! Ren-senpai helped us out so much with our rehearsals. It’s time for us to show her our support!”
Togata looked at his juniors running off with a big smile on his face and felt Eri tug at his index finger. She looked up at him with an excited glimmer in her big eyes.
“Can we go see too?”
“Of course!”
Making their way into Gamma Gym, a sign with an arrow reading “2-A: The Enchanted Forest” directed the crowd. The layout was like a traveling circus. Seats were arranged in a half-moon formation, whereas the stage took up the other half. Dark red curtains with light gold accents hung all around, giving it a sense of intimacy in the space. It wasn’t as flashy as 1-A’s, but this certainly had its own homey charm. The class had to split up due to the amount of open seats left over. Light chatter that echoed through the space soon died down as the lights dimmed.
Light, ethereal music played in the overhead speakers as a small girl walked on stage, looking around the dark space in fear. Scary glowing eyes blinked in the background as wall to wall ominous sounds and a wary melody replaced the music before, sending chills down the audience’s necks. All of a sudden, a shadowed figure emerged from the ground directly in front of her. The girl cowered in fear as the creature lunged at her only to be repelled by a sudden bright floating light with a fading hum. A flying glowing creature appeared on stage to banish the monster with another glow.
Everything was still and quiet.
The fairy looked around the darkness and thought this wouldn’t do. She summoned a small ball of warm light from her palm and shot it into the audience. The ball of light scattered and illuminated the entire space like stars scattered in the night sky. Walking up to the shaking figure, the fairy placed a gentle hand on her shoulder, prompting her to look up.
Intelligible whispers echoed with the translated words appearing at the center of the stage in midair.
“How did you get here, human child?”
“I was playing in the forest and got lost. I can’t find my way back.”
The magical being looked at the child and reached her hand out for her to grab it. Without another thought, she took it and the fairy flew up into the air and the stage went momentarily black.
The scene changed to a forested scene with a faint glowing light to the right of the stage. The fairy gently lays down the child steps from the entrance, gesturing at her to wait. Moments later, the child was invited in and the entire space lit up with falling warm balls of light. Tree branches grew all around and into a domed shape with flowers and leaves sprouting.
A procession track played overhead and in came the rest of class 2-A, dressed up as woodland creatures and magical beings. Golden confetti rained down from above. Some levitated in while others marched through the entrances holding flowers, sparklers and long, thin ribbons; the cast threw and handed the props over to those in the crowd who could reach.
And there Ren was, transformed into one of the forest wisps.
She looked like a summon from a video game crossed with a pierrot, wearing an off-white lacy costume decorated with glimmering beads and pearls all over. The apparel tailored to her body was modest and made her legs look longer than they seem. A flowing lacy train at the back of her jagged skirt made her look like she floated as she walked and shimmied. Her usual side-parted hair was styled up in a gravity defying way and decorated with translucent beads and pearls head piece. Her make-up consisted of alabaster face paint and elongated lashes with beads at the tip. A faint peach blush graced her cheeks with golden flecks of constellation-like freckles, her lips a light tangerine tint.
She danced into the aisle with the group and spotted Togata and Eri nearby with some 1-A students. Casually skipping up to them, she handed Eri a daisy with an entrancing and serene smile. The girl’s eyes sparkled with joy and beguilement as she accepted the gift. The wisp flashed another smile at them before joining the rest up on the stage.
The audience couldn’t take their eyes off of the grand procession of the entire magical village.
But all of class 1-A could see was their resident advisor; she was mystical and captivating.
They all circled the human child, out of both curiosity and fear. Before they could get any closer, a loud bang of a bass drum, followed with a soft melodic harp ceased all movement. All of the creatures backed away in a circular formation as another floating figure approached the stage from behind the audience.
The spectators looked up and saw a girl with snow white hair and owl-like features glide down on a drifting periwinkle blue cloud in a sparkling pastel purple dress holding a decorative wooden staff; it was the village leader. Gracefully landing on the stage by the tips of her toes, the village bowed as she turned her attention to the human girl. Analyzing the scared small figure, the leader placed a gentle hand on her head, soothing her worries. Soft muddled whispers echoed through with the translated words appearing out of mid-air again.
“We will get you home, little one. But before we do, please stay for our festivities as we are in the middle of a celebration.”
The little girl nodded in agreement and was helped up by a few of the wisps and faeries into a now small wooden chair. The chief sat beside her in a bigger version of the furniture. The woodland creatures performed in small groups of two to three; it was their tribute to the fairy in charge and to the forest they live in. The background music changed to a more upbeat melody to reflect each performance.
One group did acrobatics with throwing hoops to see how many the other one could catch as the speed increased, leaving the audience in laughter and explosive applause. Another was a group of two who created giant bubbles to throw into the crowd and bounced around like a beach ball. When it popped, the onlookers were showered with glitter. A male tree fairy did a solo endeavor with a coin magic trick where he kept on misplacing it on his person. He ended up finding it in one of the audience member’s jacket pockets, to which he gave a playful scolding gesture to. The next group was another trio who gave a dazzling musical performance.
It was then Ren’s turn to perform with another male wisp. The two stepped out hand in hand and went into a dance number. The style was a mix of contemporary, salsa and freestyle. As the male lifted her up into his arms, he spun her around and threw her up high into the air, disappearing halfway up. The male wisp punched the ground, forming several earthen structures as Ren reappeared on top one of them.
She jumped up in the air again and disappeared as her partner changed the formation of the stage; this time in the smiling face of All-Might. She reappeared sitting on the sculpture’s shoulder and blew a kiss at it before departing again.
The earth this time was formed into words, reading “Thank you for coming to U.A.’s Culture Festival!” Light laughter and loud applause echoed the room as the ground reverted back to its original state. He walked around the stage searching for his partner to no avail; his gaze then went upward to direct the crowd’s attention.
And there his companion was, swinging from a swing high above the spectators, dangling her feet like a child. Building up the momentum, she leaped off as the crowd gasped while diving down; her partner on stage readied himself to catch her only to see her disappear again. Frustrated, she reappeared behind him and comically tapped him on the shoulder. He turned around fuming and covered her mouth to express her mischievous nature, followed with more laughter as they bowed and went back into the group.
The village leader rose up from her seat and walked center stage. She held her staff up and proceeded to swing it in a pattern as she danced with it. Chaine turning in the form of a circle, a ball of light elevated up from the fresh earth. She picked it up and hovered her palm on top of it, giving it her blessing. The leader then hovered it on top of the human girl’s head and transformed into a flower wreath. Incoherent speaking echoed through the tent with the ghosting text appearing once more.
“The forest path from hereon is dangerous. This will protect you from anything that may harm you as long as you have hope in your heart. One of my wisps will be your guide.”
With a wave of the village leader’s hand, Ren appeared out from the crowd and bowed deeply to her. The chieftain presented her a glowing necklace and placed it on her neck. Gesturing for her to stand, she placed her forehead to the wisp, giving her blessing before she leaves. Bowing once more, the wisp walked up to the human girl and reached her hand out with a smile. The child took her hand and off they went.
An instrumental track played as the stage transformed; the wooden domed arch retracts its limbs back into the ground while the woodland characters danced and removed items and replaced them with another. Once the set was finalized, out came the child and Ren, using her quirk to zip around the area to scout for any danger up ahead. The two walked in place while the stage lighting gradually dimmed to black. The only source of light came from the wisp’s necklace and the little girl’s flower crown.
The two moved around cautiously, hoping not to attract any creatures. A sudden boom shook the air, startling the crowd. A heavy set of mist poured on the stage and seeped through the seats as an unsettling chill came in. The previous looming shadow emerged on stage and transformed into a spiky, slithering-like monster. Shielding the young girl from it, the dark spiky creature hovered closely at the two, analyzing them. A series of incoherent, guttural and hypnotizing whispers echoed the stage, followed with a strong, light response.
“Creature of light, sacrifice this being to me and I’ll spare you.”
“I refuse, Nightsnatcher!”
The wisp brought the child behind her as the Nightsnatcher tried to snap at her limbs. Gesturing the child to run, she did so while the glowing creature defended to the best of her ability. The creature of the night managed to break through and just as it was about to attack the human girl, the wisp teleported in between them and sacrificed itself. Audible gasps could be heard in the crowd and a deathly silence filled the void as the wisp’s form thudded across the stage and went limp.
The girl crawled up to her protector and shook her wounded body, tears streaming down her small cheeks. The magical creature gingerly reached up to wipe them away and handed her the necklace the chieftain gave her. A hushed series of whispers echoed.
“Wear this and the creature cannot harm you.”
Placing it into her small hands, the girl refused to leave. With the Nightsnatcher surrounding them, the stage grew darker into an obsidian abyss with only the girl illuminated. An strong pressure rose up from the pit of the audience’s stomachs as if someone was choking the life out of them. Clutching the necklace tightly, she squeezed her eyes close and a blinding warm light materialized from her palm to wash away the darkness and the creature with it with a fading scream.
The stage was once again lit in a lightly wooded area. The little girl looked up in wonder for a moment before bringing her attention back to her wisp friend. She quickly crawled up to her still body and shook her again with no response. Tears formed in the child’s tiny eyes as she repeated her previous action. Slowly, the spirit stirred back to consciousness and met the little girl’s look of relief. She drew the wisp into a tight hug to thank her. She released, shaking her head and cupped her hands.
Slowly getting up off of the ground, the two traversed at a slower pace due to her injury and soon saw the exit to the forest. A bittersweet melody played above as they saw several shadowed figures in the shape of other children at the other end of the forest. The wisp gave her a sad smile before her departure. The two embraced once more before the human child disappeared from her sight.
Staring at the path for another beat, she turned her heels and slowly headed back into the forest. But before doing so, Ren looked down at a spot and hovered her hand over her chest. In one swooping gesture, she flung her arm up in the air and golden confetti-like sparkles rained down from above as the lights cascaded back to black.
A swell of the music faded out with the fizzling of remaining sparkles. Seconds later, the house lights came on with the full cast on stage. The audience erupted in thunderous applause, some even wiping away tears from their eyes. They all took their final bows before the lights dimmed for the last time and disbanded off stage. Shuffling and commotion from the audience grew loud as they exited one by one, each commenting on what they thought about the show excitedly.
As 1-A regrouped and exited together, they saw Ren wearing only the jersey of her gym uniform carrying some props away. The head dress she wore was now off but her hair was still styled and makeup was on without the extended lashes.
“Ren-chan!” Togata called and excitedly waved. She turned and saw everyone’s smiling faces. Setting the prop down in the storage box, she quickly ran over.
“Oh good!” she huffed with relief. “You guys managed to make it.”
“The show was so awesome!” Jiro jumped out and tackled her in full force in the form of a hug, pushing her back a little. “I barely recognized you in costume!”
“I cried out of joy and sadness!” Kirishima shouted enthusiastically. “It was so beautiful!”
“Well, we wanted to make it dramatic,” she chuckled, her arm wrapped around Jiro’s shoulder. “And when I told everyone the first years killed their performance, it lit a fire under everyone’s butts.”
Ren then looked down to see Eri’s curious gaze. She was still holding the flower she gave her and bent down to meet the child face to face.
“What did you think, Eri-chan?”
“The show was really fun!” she beamed with a full smile and hopped around. “But there were some parts that was scary that made me go ‘ahh!’ When the bubbles popped like ‘poosh!’, I giggled when the glitter rained on me. And when you were moving around like ‘zyoom’, I was like ‘wahh!’ Then you jumped off of the swing over us, I jumped too!”
She let out a soft chuckle with a full smile and said, “You know you were the inspiration for this play?”
“Really?”
Ren nodded.
“I wanted to make something everyone could enjoy with you.”
The child’s eyes lit up with glee and gave the happiest smile she could make. Togata looked at Ren and smiled to himself. She’s changed so much after the raid, like she gained perspective on something she was looking for from her past. Compared to how she was before and now, he could now acknowledge her as a full-fledged hero in his eyes.
Because she now had the heart to forgive and move on. He could now comfortably pass the title of the Big Three over to her.
“Takahiro! You slacking over there?!” one of her classmates called.
“Oops, I have to go.” She stood back up with a small pop from her knees. “We’ll talk more later!”
She ran back to her class to help with the rest of the dismantling. With the festival finished, each of the dorms had their own after-party. With the second year’s party wrapping up, she headed back to 1-A’s dorms, with Tomoe and Seri in tow, only to still see them going, blaring music and all. Togata could be seen talking with Midoriya by the kitchen area.
“Senpai! You’re back!” the class happily greeted.
“Great work today!” Sero raised his cup at her. “The show was amazing!”
“Back at you guys!” Tomoe cheered. “1-A was the talk of the festival!”
The three girls mingled separately in different groups. Ren went to plop down on the couch with let out a content sigh.
“Wow, senpai. Your hair is still styled,” Ashido commented in amazement and poked at it. “What did they use?”
“A combination of hair spray and a lot of hair wax,” she replied and lightly chuckled. “I was told it’ll undo once I run water through it. But we’ll see.”
“Don’t you think senpai kinda looks like Aizawa-sensei when he uses his quirk?” Uraraka blurted out between her giggles.
Ren put her best facial impression of Aizawa and mumbled in a gruff voice, “You zygotes! Behave yourselves! I’m getting dry eye over here!” The entire class went silent for a beat and all burst out in uncontrollable laughter.
“Oh my God, senpai’s the best!” Kaminari wiped his tears away with dying chuckles.
“I never thought she was this funny,” Midoriya remarked and smiled. “But it feels like she’s really opened up.”
“It’s like she’s finally allowed herself to be herself after everything,” Togata stated with a small smile, looking at her talking to some of the juniors. “I’m gonna head out after having a word with her.”
“Oh, okay. When do you think you’ll see Eri-chan again?”
“That completely depends on Aizawa.”
The tall blond boy got up off of the chair and strutted over to Ren. Before she could greet him, he drew her into a sudden hug.
“M-Mirio-senpai?!”
“Whoa! A sudden embrace!” Ashido exclaimed and hopped in place. “Could this be a budding love story?”
“Ah, but what about Tororoki though?” Hagakure chimed out.
“Whoa, a love triangle?!” the pink alien screamed.
“An unlikely story,” Ren flatly answered to kill off their wild imaginations as she remained stiffened at her sudden senior’s hug.
“The play today...” He spoke softly in her ear. The boyish bass of it shook her eardrums. “It was about Eri-chan and I, wasn’t it?”
Togata felt her arm reach up and hugged back, nodding into his shoulder. All the blond boy could do was bury his face in her shoulder trying to keep his emotions at bay.
“Thank you, Ren,” he whispered in her ear and released his grasp. The muscular boy then noticed her beet red cheeks. “Oh! Did I hug you too hard?”
“Huh? Uh, no. No. I’m, uh… I’m gonna go change,” she stammered and teleported up to her room.
Back in the darkness of her personal space, she slid down the wall and clasped both her hands over her mouth.
This was the first time he’s ever said her name without honorifics. And it felt weird.
“What are you doing to me, senpai...” she squeaked out.
*Hito moji: If you’ve watched “Food Wars!,” you’ll notice Megumi does it often. The story goes you write the kanji for “person” on your palm three times and swallow them. This is to calm yourself from nervousness before the audience swallows you with their presence.

Read All About It - An Ace/OC fanfic - Chapter 6
Strolling hand in hand down the streets of Fishman Island made it almost feel as if they were a normal couple, not a pirate captain and a Revolutionary.
“So, my partner gave me a good nickname.”
“Better than missus?” Ace teased.
She rolled her eyes. “Yes. He called me the Revolutionary Spade. Really the Red-haired Revolutionary Spade, but that’s a bit much.”
“Eh, too long for a bounty poster. Revolutionary Spade is better.”
Ashina shot him a playful glare. “I’m still trying to not obtain one of those.”
“Sorry, missus,” he teased, gently bumping her shoulder. “with me you’ll end up with one in no time. Just wait ‘til Isuka knows your name: Ashina the Revolutionary Spade.”
“Ugh, at least with Missus they don’t know my real name.”
Ace laughed and let go of her hand, only to loop his arm over her shoulders and pull her closer. “I’m hungry,” he said, catching the smell of food in the air. “Let’s get some food.”
When he spotted the ramen shop, he remembered it being one of her favorite foods, so he dragged her inside with him. The menu was small, but the place smelled amazing.
They ordered and true to her normal self, Ashina only ate one bowl. It was a large bowl, but still, Ace wondered if she ate enough sometimes.
“Are you sure you’re full?” he asked, swallowing a mouthful of noodles and meat.
She giggled. “Yes, Ace. Are you? That’s your eighth bowl.”
“Almost.”
Ashina giggled again, propping her head up on her fist, elbow resting on the bartop. “You really are a bottomless pit.”
As soon as he was finished Ace grabbed her hand and strolled out of the restaurant.
“Ace, what are you-”
They made it a few paces down the street with the store owner shouted.
“Stop them! They haven’t paid.”
“Come on!” Ace shouted, breaking out in a run.
Ashina kept pace with him, grumbling at him for his dine and dash antics. By the time they outran the people chasing them, and were officially lost someone on the island, she was laughing. They came to a stop and Ashina bent over, hands on her knees, as she tried to catch her breath between laughter.
“What the hell, Ace, I could have paid.”
“Sorry, it’s a bit of a habit.”
She rolled her eyes as he shrugged. Ashina looked around as she stood straight. “Why don’t we find our way back to the market and then to the ship. The log pose should be set soon.”
Ace grinned. “Let’s go.”
It was easy to find their way back to the heart of the city by the noise of the crowd. Ace stayed close to her as they weaved their way through fishmen, merfolk, and other humans. His hand occasionally touched the small of her back, directing her one way or another since he could see over the crowd better than her.
“Thanks to you and all that running, now I want a snack,” she commented.
“You should have eaten more ramen.”
“I was full then!”
Ace just laughed, but his eyes scanned the streets around them. He pointed to the left and grinned. “There’s a takoyaki stand over there.”
“Oo!” she squealed with excitement and took his hand, dragging him behind her through the crowd. “Hurry up, Ace.”
They reached the stand and Ashina looked over the selection. “I’ll take one regular and one spicy, please.”
The fishman behind the stand expertly flipped four of the regular little balls into a cup and handed it to her before doing to the same from the pile of spicy takoyaki. Ashina handed Ace the spicy one and then dug out the requested amount of beri from her pouch. Once she paid, she looped her free arm through his and they started walking again.
She dropped his arm once they were clear of the crowd, and popped one of the little balls into her mouth. She hummed in satisfaction. “That’s yummy. Ramen and takoyaki, we’re going to make our way back to Fishman Island one day, just for the food. By the way, you never did say what the fight with Draw was about.”
Ace scratched the back of his head, ruffling his hair. “Oh, well… uh… he offered me a position as a Shichibukai, and I said no.”
“He did what?” Ashina stopped walking and stared at Ace with wide, surprised eyes. “Wait, you said no?”
“The Shichibukai work for the World Government, and I don’t want to answer to them. I’m a pirate, not a marine’s dog.” Ace looped his arm back around her waist and pulled her closer. “Come on,” he said, starting to walk again.
Ashina smiled as she fell into step with his pace. “They won’t like that you turned down their offer.”
“Draw didn’t. He did say he doesn’t like the idea of the Shichibukai either, but he got mad I rejected the offer. He set fire to some buildings and risked some people’s lives just to push my buttons. He pissed me off, and we started fighting.”
Ashina grinned as they reached the ship. “Your bounty is going to increase because of that, you know that, right?”
“That’s a good thing.” He gave her a big grin making Ashina laugh.
“Let’s go, Fire Fist.”
.
.
.
“So, Captain, where are we headed now?” Saber asked as the rest of the crew gathered on the deck of the Spadille.
The question caught Ashina’s attention and she looked up from the book in her hand. Ace grinned at the crew. “I’m going to find the man who saved my brother’s life when he was a little kid. Luffy used to talk all the time about Red-haired Shanks, so I’m going to find him and thank him.”
Ashina felt the blood drain from her face. Ace had never asked about her parents, and she’d never volunteered the information. In all of their late-night conversations, after the moments that shared Ace’s admittance that Gol D Roger was his father, they didn’t talk about it. Ace knew he mother was gone and that he father was somewhere out in the world, but… now it felt like she was going to have to come clean.
“Rumor I heard in the market is that he’s on a winter island,” Saber said.
Ace nodded. “We’ll go there first and see where the journey takes us. When I finally encounter Whitebeard, I’ll prove I’m going to be King of the Pirates.”
“Um… Ace,” Ashina began, getting to her feet. “I feel like now might be a good time to mention something.”
“What?” he asked, clearly confused. “I know you don’t like the cold, but-”
She cut him off with a dismissive wave of her hand and blurted, “Red-haired Shanks is my father.”
Deuce and Saber’s eyes practically popped out of their heads and Banshee gave an unlady-like curse. Mihar and Skull shared a chuckle. Ace stared at her.
“What?” Ace managed to stammer out.
“Red-haired Shanks is my father,” she repeated.
“Oh. Well…” He looked unsure of what to say next as he shuffled his feet.
“It’s okay!” Ashina blurted reassuringly. Ace, I love my Papa. He’ll be surprised to see me I’m sure, since the last time he saw me he was leaving me on the doorstep of the Revolutionary Army. It’s been five years, I’d like to see him.”
Ace beamed and pulled her in for a hug, keeping an arm around her waist and close to his side as he turned to face the crew. “Set sail, men!”
Ace gave orders as Ashina stood beside him and the crew scurried around the deck as they set sail out from Fishman Island, preparing to enter the New World. Her first adventure on the second half of the Grand Line and she was going to see her father.
“Hey, Ace?”
“Huh?” He stopped giving orders and looked down at her.
“It might be a good idea to notlet my father know we’re a thing. I’d hate for him to kill you.”
Ace frowned, but nodded, agreeing to her suggestion.
“How’re we going to find him? Which island do we travel to?” Deuce asked, stopping beside them.
“Oh!” Ashina exclaimed, slipping a hand into her pouch. “I have the solution for that.” She withdrew the slip of blank paper. “I have his vivre card.”
.
.
.
“Can you use your Haki to tell where they are?” Ace asked.
He was standing close behind her, keeping her warm with his internal fire. “I could, but the vivre card will lead us to him.”
She shivered and Ace pulled her closer, keeping an arm wrapped around her front. It wasn’t snowing right now, but the cold, biting wind was relentless. “Let’s get moving then.”
It wasn’t long into their trek that the snow began. The further into the snowy mountains they walked, the harder the wind blew and the more snow fell.
“The snow storm is getting worse. Even with your extra heat,” Mihar commented.
“We’ll keep going until we find them.”
“Are you serious, Captain?” Saber yelled.
“I want to meet him. We keep going no matter what.”
Ashina just shook her head, trudging through the freezing snow behind Ace. Being near him was slightly warmer than the surrounding temperature, but that would end as soon as they reached her father. She didn’t want to give him any ideas that Ace and her were in fact lovers, mainly because she preferred her lover alive. It was late as they neared the cave opening and the sound of voices and smell of wood smoke reached them.
She already dreaded the idea of having to sleep through the night not curled up to Ace. Ashina fell back into the mix of the crew as they reached the mouth of the cave, suddenly nervous to see her father again. Deuce picked up on her actions, and stepped to the left, effectively blocking her from view.
“Who goes there?” One of the Red-Haired Pirates yelled out, Ashina recognized Yassop’s voice.
“I’m Captain Portgas D Ace of the Spade Pirates.”
“So,” a voice Ashina instantly recognized as her father’s answered. “The Spade Pirates? The famous Super Rookies… have come for me?” The slick of his sword being partially withdrawn echoed in the quiet cave.
“No, no that’s not what I’m here for,” Ace said quickly, shaking his hands in front of him. “My little brother owes you his life and he never stopped talking about you growing up! I just wanted to meet you and say thanks.”
“You mean Luffy?” Shanks replied excitedly, letting his sword fall back into its sheath. “I never knew he had a brother! I see. I’m glad you came. Please tell me more.”
“Oh, sure,” Ace hesitated and looked behind him, eyes scanning his crew, before he turned back to the Yonko. “but I brought another surprise.”
Ace turned sideways, looking back at Ashina, who was still partially hidden by Deuce, and she took a breath before stepping forward. Shanks took her in and his eyes widened as his smile grew bigger.
“Hi, Papa.” She gave him a small smile and a little wave.
“My baby girl!” Shanks jumped up.
“She ain’t a baby no more,” one of the men near the back of the cave said, earning a glare from Shanks before he turned his attention back to Ashina.
Shanks swept her up with his one arm, easily lifting her off her feet. All the worry and nerves left her instantly as she relaxed into the strong, loving embrace of her father. She returned the hug just as fiercely, burying her face in the collar of his shirt to inhale the familiar scent of ocean, sweat, booze, and something distinctly Shanks. She pressed a kiss to his cheek as he set her back on her feet.
“What are you doing in the New World with pirates?” he questioned, a teasing grin on his face. “I dropped you with the Revolutionary Army, not Rookie pirates.”
Ashina shrugged. “Got separated on a mission for Dragon. Orders were to stay with the Spades for now. Maybe he wants to see what’s happening on this side of the world? Who knows?” She skirted around the real truth that Dragon gave her a choice and she chose to stay with Ace… for a multitude of reasons.
Shanks seemed to accept her answer and nodded, but turned a hard gaze to Ace. “Keep an eye on my daughter, Rookie.”
Ace nodded quickly. “Yes, sir.”
Shanks grinned then and spun around to his men. “Let’s have a party!”
.

This was awful. The idea of Ashina not sleeping beside him, curled into his warmth as she did every night never crossed his mind. Every night she lay in his arms, but not this one, and he felt a fool for not understanding sooner what she meant when she said to not let her father know they were a thing. All night she avoided being near him, because when they were near, they gravitated closer and always wound up touching.
Of course, her sleeping with him would clue her father in to the truth of their relationship. A truth he wasn’t sure he wanted to face the consequences for, because there would be consequences. One arm or not, Shanks was still a powerful Yonko, and Ace wasn’t wishing to test the man’s ability.
Ace glanced across the room and spotted those green orbs in the dying light of the fire. Ashina couldn’t sleep either. They stared at each other across the cave, neither speaking for fear of waking the others. Ace watched as she silently sat up and then stood. She made no sound as she tiptoed her way gracefully around the sleeping bodies of two pirate crews, keeping her blanket hugged tight to her shoulders. She folded herself gracefully down to the ground, and he scowled at her, even as he lifted his own blanket for her to slide in beside him.
Ashina hummed softly in her throat as she pressed her back against his chest. He amped up his internal temperate and she hummed softly again. Ace pressed his lips into her hair as he slipped a hand around her waist to pull her impossibly closer.
“What happened to not letting him know we’re together?” Ace asked softly, a teasing lilt to his voice.
He felt her shrug one shoulder. “It’s cold and I can’t sleep without you.”
“Your father is going to kill me in the morning. You know that, right?” he whispered in her ear.
She turned in his embrace to face him and dipped her head below his. Her lips pressed against the hollow of his throat. “Maybe, but it will be worth the warm night of sleep.”
He could feel the smile on her lips and huffed out a breath through his nose before pressing his lips to the top of her head. He couldn’t argue with her logic and he’d use any excuse to hold her slender frame against his.

The morning sun was beginning to rise and fill the cave with light when Shanks woke up. It took him a moment to remember it was real, but he quickly turned his head to look at his daughter. She was no longer on the mat she had fallen asleep on, and he frowned. He scanned the cave, scowling when he spotted her red hair.
“What you make o’ that, Captain?” Benn spoke quietly from beside him, already awake.
Shanks’ frown deepened as he studied the pair. They were lying facing each other and the curve and ripple of the blanket made it obvious the Rookies’ arm was curled tight around her waist, holding her close to his chest. His other arm pillowed her head. Her red hair was wild around them and the boy’s nose was buried in the wavy locks.
“I don’t like it, whatever it is.”
“You left her alone at fourteen with the Revolutionaries. Had to of known she’d grown up.”
Shanks sighed, unable to take his eyes away from his little girl, who was clearly no longer a little girl. “She’s growing up too soon. It shouldn’t be time for her to be doing…” he waved his hand at the sleeping pair. “things with boys.”
“Ace isn’t a boy, and she’s not a little girl anymore, Boss. At least she found a strong man.”
Shanks glared at Benn. “He’s still a Rookie… and I don’t have to like him, especially seeing as his hands are on my daughter… but he … he looks familiar,” Shanks trailed off, studying the sleeping Rookie.
“How so?”
Shanks shook his head. “What are the chances though?”
“Of what, Boss?” Benn asked, not following his captain’s random train of thought.
“I think he’s Roger’s kid,” Shanks breathed out.
Shanks stared hard at the dark mop of hair. It was dark and wavy like his former Captain’s had been. He’d caught glimpses of Roger’s ghost in Ace’s smile and eyes in firelight of the party. He’d also noticed the shared glances between him and Ashina. Shanks should have known they’d be together. He tried not to think too much on how they passed their time, he was more worried about her future. Being a pirate was dangerous, and the Rookie had big dreams. Ashina was smart, and strong, but a father worried for his daughter.
His only child. He knew she would remain secret no longer. Her secrecy was his only request to Dragon when he left her with the Revolutionary Army five years ago. Keep her secret, she’s already a skilled kunoichi like her mother, train her to be stronger, stealthier, help her remain unseen, unknown. With Ace, the Marines would soon learn of her, and there would be no mistaking who her father was. Shanks only hoped Ashina was ready for the dangers she would encounter here in the New World. He also hoped the young man, who he was positive was his captain’s son, would be strong enough to protect himself and her.

“Where’s Papa?” Ashina asked, looking around the cave in the early morning light.
“Went outside since the snow storm calmed,” Benn answered. He gave her a knowing look. “Was wanting to speak to you.”
Ashina frowned slightly but nodded. She pulled her fur cloak tighter around her shoulders and headed out of the mouth of the cave. He wasn’t far from the entrance, perched on a snow-covered boulder near one of the only, scraggly evergreen trees that stood near the cave. He looked up as she walked over, but did not speak. She hopped up onto the rock and leaned into his side. She still found it strange sometimes that he was missing his left arm. She remembered when it was still there and the year he had returned and it was gone.
“The Rookie’s Devil Fruit seems to have lessened the snow storm,” Shanks commented, breaking the silence.
“He’s strong.”
Shanks snorted. “He’s young and reckless.”
“Weren’t you young and reckless once?”
Shanks grinned at her. “You callin’ your old man old?”
Ashina giggled and shook her head. “Never, Papa.” Ashina paused and then added. “Ace is strong and he’ll only get stronger.”
“Strength is good, Ashina, but it will bring danger.”
“I’m not afraid,” she stated with confidence.
Shanks kissed the top of her head. “Of course you’re not. You’re your mother’s daughter after all. You look like her more and more each time I see you, Ashina.”
He was quiet for a moment and they both watched the softly falling snow. “I wasn’t much older than you when you were born.”
“Papa…” Ashina cut in, hoping he wasn’t going there. Her mother gave her the embarrassing sex talk, and she didn’t really want to hear her father stumble through it.
“I want you to be careful, Ashina.”
“We are careful, Papa.”
“We? So you are having sex with the Rookie?” Shanks leaned back, his eyes narrowed and his cheeks slightly red with anger.
Ashina waved a dismissive hand. “He’s not my first, Papa.”
Shanks waved his hands in front of him and shouted. “I don’t want to know this about my baby girl! Now I have two boys to murder. It is just two, yes?”
“Papa!” Ashina felt her cheeks burn from her blush. He wasn’t wrong, but she wasn’t going to admit that either.
Shanks smiled good naturedly and bumped his shoulder to hers. “Please be careful, Ashina. You have big dreams. I hope you still have those dreams. Don’t let them go because of a boy.”
“I still want to change the world, Papa, and I can still do that being a Spade pirate. But… you know, I didn’t stop your dreams.”
Shanks sighed. “I wasn’t a good father either.”
Ashina frowned and took his hand in hers. “Of course you were, you are, Papa. Just because you weren’t there all the time doesn’t mean you were a bad father. You’re a pirate Papa, I learned what that meant and how much it meant to you. A pirate drop anchor in one place? Papa you’d be bored out of your mind,” she said on a giggle, making him smile. She paused for a beat and then added softly. “I don’t plan on babies, Papa.”
“Things happen, Ashina.”
“Well, fuck, Papa don’t jinx me! Jeez. We’re careful. I’m careful. I promise.”
“Good. I want you to be happy. Doesn’t mean I don’t want to wring the Rookie’s neck for touching my daughter.”
Ashina giggled and leaned in to kiss his cheek. “I think you’re allowed to feel that way, just please don’t act on it.” She rested her head on his shoulder and he squeezed her hand.
“I love you, Papa.”
“Love you, Baby Girl.”
.
.
.
Shanks wasn’t ready to tell Ashina goodbye as they stood next to the Spadille in the late morning sun. Growing up, he’d made it happen where he could see her once a year, with the exception of a few times where it just didn’t work, for a few days. Then she’d traveled with him for a year before he dropped her with the Revolutionary Army on Baltigo. That was five years ago. She was nineteen now, a young woman in her own right, but she would always be his little girl. It worried him that he didn’t know when he’d see her again. Not to mention the lurking, deaded thought of ifand not when.
“Stay safe,” he whispered, pulling her into a hug.
Her arms wrapped tightly around his waist. “I will, Papa. You be careful.”
“Don’t worry about me, baby girl.” he said to her, keeping her held tightly to his chest. “Keep up your training, okay?”
Ashina nodded.
“Good. I won’t have to worry too much then. Until next time, baby girl.” Shanks kissed the top of her head and then let her go.
Ashina stepped back, and then lunged forward to hug her father once more before turning to board the Spadille.
“Ace, a word.”
Ace stopped in his tracks, nodding to Ashina to go ahead, and turned back to Shanks.
“I know you and my daughter are… together. Break her heart and you’re going to join the one-arm club, and if she gets hurt, or worse, I’m going to kill you, got it, Rookie?” Shanks asked Ace in a low voice giving him a deadly stare.
“Got it.”
“Good.” Shanks stepped back, clapped him on the shoulder and smiled at Ace. “Safe travels.”
“Yeah, uh, thanks. It was nice to meet you, Shanks.”
Ace turned on a dime and quickly boarded the ship.
Shanks waved goodbye to Ashina, who stood at the rail of the ship, waving back to him.  Ace gave the orders for the crew to set sail, and Shanks watched as he came to stand beside Ashina, an arm looping around her waist.
Benn chuckled from beside him. “You’re maturing as you age, Captain. I half expected you to not let her go with the Rookie.”
Shanks laughed, but then sobered, eyes watching the ship was the sails unfurled and she picked up speed, carrying his daughter away from him once more. “Eh. As much as I’d like to castrate the boy for being with my daughter, I can’t hold her back. Tsuna would never forgive me for not letting our girl chase her dreams and be free.”
