No you don't understand, Anne and Marcy third-wheeling Sasha during the dinner episode (and Sasha third-wheeling herself during battle of the bands) is so important to me. Anne and Marcy have come so far having left Sasha behind. They're happy and confident and strong and closer than ever, all because they were finally free. Because Sasha wasn't there to stunt their growth. Despite how much they love Sasha and how much they don't want to admit the distance helped them, it's true: Anne and Marcy were both victims of a toxic friend and they're learning to move on together. Ik it sounds like I hate Sasha because whenever I write about her I make her out to be a massive piece of shit but that's because... she kinda was! And I love her for that! I love these three, I love their story and their drama and toxicity (I was soooo happy when it was revealed Marcy wasn't as great as she initially seemed like - yes! The CONFLICT is CONFLICTING). Like yes marcanne is my obsession, I have marcanne brain worms, but I think one of the reasons marcanne works so well is because of Sasha. Their past, present and future with her have such a huge impact in Anne and Marcy's relationship with each other and with themselves. You can't separate these three and I love it, how easy it is to ship two of them without making it weird by leaving the third one behind (ironically, Sasha the Character is included by leaving Sasha the Person behind).

Marcanne to me is about two childhood friends living in a toxic situation healing together after leaving, only able to fall in love now that they are free and more comfortable with themselves and each other. They couldn't fully connect with each other before - not really. Anne didn't see the importance of listening to what Marcy had to say nor did she take it too seriously, and Marcy was simply not in contact with real people in the real world at all. None of this was Sasha's fault entirely, but she did third-wheel Marcy and she was possesive with Anne and was just a generally terrible influence on her, while reminding Marcy that, well, she didn't really matter all that much to anyone. Removing Sasha from the equation is not enough but it's a necessary step towards knowing each other better and the fact that they so easily became closer than ever just shows their eagerness to be together for real this time. Marcy's increased confidence and Anne's newfound empathy and admiration for her friend wouldn't have been possible with Sasha's domineering influence present. If they were to fall in love, it'd be because Sasha wasn't there to stop it.

I imagine that, once she finds out, she'd be furious, but mostly just devastated. Her friends only found love once she was gone. As if they think they'll be better off without her.

i've been seeing rumors that apparently discord filehosting will no longer be functional by the end of the year (no source for it yet from discord itself but there are a lot of people discussing it here and on reddit). this means if you're lazy like me and use discord to host the images you use in your games, like so:

it will no longer work. the image still exists, but that link doesn't, and it won't show in my sidebar. this link in the code is from june/july of this year, and here is a different discord link that i just generated today, and you can see the difference with these new query parameters, is, ex, & hm:

i'm not sure if that link in my code will expire in the same way these new links will, since obviously my old link does not have these parameters, but i figure it's better to be safe than sorry. so this is me telling you to get an account on an actual filehosting website like mediafire (that's where im going) or dropbox, etc

even if this does end up just being a rumor/not set in stone, it's a good excuse to move your images onto an actual hosting site.

obviously you may also include your images in the .zip file that you upload onto itch.io, so this may be completely irrelevant for some of you, but i tend not to do that because...? i like to make things difficult for myself.

YEAH it wasn’t happy fun times for Sky

The timeline of events goes a bit differently for Sky than OG Warriors, as Sun doesn’t disappear to become Sheik until after the first big confrontation with Cia, where she scarred Sky and Sun both.

Cia had blasted away Sky’s companions with her magic, knocked them away and thrown them to the ground. Not that they really mattered to her anyway; she only had eyes for Sky.

She’d gone to try and hold his hand, but grabbed his arm when he tried to pull away. She’d professed her love to him, announced her devotion.

Cia had wanted it to be amazing. She’d wanted to show him all she’d done for him, but instead he saw her love for what it really was: obsession.

He’d rejected her, of course, and she’d lashed out at both him and Sun. Him for not seeing the beauty in what she’d done (searing her handprint into his arm, so that he’d be forever marked and branded by her alone), and Sun for being in the way of what she could’ve had (slashing a mark across her face so that there’d be a reminder every time he looked).

Sky defeated her, of course, and he hardly left Sun’s side while she recovered. Magic potions weren’t enough to stop it from scarring, and neither got out of the battle unscathed.

Sky hid his own scar from her at first. It wasn’t anything like hers, after all. His was easily hidden under a sleeve, while hers was right across her face for all to see. Cia had accomplished one thing: he *did* think of her when he looked at Sun’s face.

Sky’s own scar is something he doesn’t like. He doesn’t like looking at it, and he doesn’t like thinking about it.

He feels like he’s been branded, and the mere idea makes his skin crawl. How dare she leave a mark on him? It feels wrong to be marked by someone else when his own beloved has no such claim on him (even if he knows that she’d never want that).

He and Sun eventually have a heart to heart about it once the war is over. She starts doing little things, leaving little marks of her own. She paints his nails, brushes his hair, makes little earrings for him, and she made him a new cloak, one he wears everywhere. They’re gifts from the person he loves, and being able to choose whether or not to carry them everywhere means a lot more than he can express. He can’t remove the scar like he takes off his sailcloth, but keeping the sailcloth on his person so often means far more than having the scar he can’t get rid of.

Given time, Sky would heal from it. The scar would remain but slowly the associations would fade. He’d stop being so afraid to show it, he wouldn’t flinch whenever someone touches his arm, and that overwhelming shame whenever he looks at it would dull. Unfortunately, he’s had a mere 3 months to rest before his next adventure, so he’s nowhere near healed by the time he meets the others.
