I would say I have no explanation for this, but uh. I really do. Behold: the first ideas for a Terror IndyCar AU that has possessed me for the last 36 straight hours. It would not leave me alone until I put some of it to paper.
Behold: Crozier as an established, relatively liked, if cynical, driver, upstart rookie James Fitzjames, and Hickey, who is, as always, totally normal and not causing problems.
The art is rushed, but I needed to purge the demons as fast as I could
#i have never drawn hickey before. its not good but I'm tired.#as always my sketches look better than the final. it's fine. im not annoyed. not at all.#anyway. today? an AU nobody hut me ever asked for and debatably nobody else wants. tomorrow? the same.#thought i was clever for making Hickey's sponsor be a vodka company after Crozier gets sober#could Not come up with a suitable sponsor for JFJ. too tired.#in my head silna is a very competent canadian driver on crozier and jfj's team#goodsir is on the pit crew for silna most of the time. stanley is the lead mechanic#runs their shop like it's the goddamn navy and nobody ever knows if he's happy with things.#blanky is either a manager or the guy to talks to drivers on team radio during races#anyway if i ever do anything like this i plan to have crozier ultimately win a 4th 500#but only after james has a horrible crash that ends his season and many press people think will end his career#just so he can kiss francis at victory circle#look. i have very little to say for myself aside from the fact that i have been going to the indy 500 since i was 7 years old.#almost 20 years ago#and the IMS and indycar is very important to me. one of the few sports i care about and want to follow more.#so. uh. yeah. watch this space bc it will probably keep bothering me bc I Need It.#(also very silly but i tried to make crozier and james's drivers suits have shoulder shapes like epaulettes. i thought that was fun)#again sorry for the quality but i drew all of this in like 4 hours today. i am a woman Possessed.#anyway im gonna crawl back into my cringe hole. see y'all#the terror

As Sam drives off, the only light comes from the half moon in the sky. You stare off where the cars had been, and you feel Bucky watching you until he speaks softly, âyou made the right callâ.Â
Your eyes stay fixed to the distance, âdid I?â.Â
Bucky moves to stand in front of you. He uses his flesh hand to tilt your head up by your chin, âif you hadnât done what you did something horrible would have happened tonight. Steve is just scared and not thinking straightâ.Â
You nod as your eyes finally meet his. He speaks again, softly in the night, âweâll figure everything out when things calm down. But right now, I want to know if youâre okay?â.Â
Your eyes automatically start darting away from his, âyeah, Iâm fineâ. He continues to stare at you, his hand still holding your chin. When your eyes can no longer avoid his gaze you crack, âIâm just scared Buck. I just have this dread in the pit of my stomach and I feel like I brought this all on you, that this is all my faultâ.Â
Bucky frowns, confused, âhow is any of this your fault?â.Â
You take in a shaky breath, âyou didnât have a problem with Isaac until I came alongâ.Â
Buckyâs hand slides to cup your cheek, ânone of this is your fault Doll. You donât control what other people do and I have plenty of enemies out there. Something like this would be happening with or without you here by my side. The only difference now, is that I have one more person to fight for. One more person to protect and I have one more person that has my backâ.Â
You study his face before saying, âI love you Jamesâ.Â
Bucky smiles before leaning down to connect with your lips. He gives a deep but quick kiss before murmuring, âI love you too Dollâ.Â
When he pulls back you feel cold and disappointed, but you knew you still had things to do. Bucky gets his phone out, âIâll call two guys to come to the end of the dirt road. I donât want them to see the house, so Iâll go take care of the bodies and hand them off to the guys to take care of while you and I go and check on Peggyâ.Â
You nod as you make your way back to the house, âwhat do you want me to do now?â.Â
He steers you over to Steve and Peggyâs car, âstay here, Iâll go get the keys and you can wait for me in the carâ.Â
âI can help-â, you start to protest.Â
But he cuts you off, âno. It wonât take me long. Stay here, let me go get the keysâ.Â
Bucky runs off into the house but is only gone for a second before coming back with the keys. He waits for you to get in the car before going back into the house.Â
Twenty minutes later Bucky is dragging two bodies wrapped in tarp towards the car. He throws them into the boot and then throws his ruined suit jacket in the back. He gets into the driverâs side and rolls up his shirt sleeves before turning the car on.Â
As he travels down the dirt road his hand rests briefly on your leg and you give him a grateful smile, even as the dread in your stomach grows.Â
When he gets towards the end, there is a car waiting. Bucky talks to them briefly before they make light work of moving the bodies to their car. They drive off in the opposite direction to you.Â
The road is dark and empty, and you were happy to be heading back home to see Peggy. It was only twenty minutes down the road, but five minutes in as you drive into the middle of the intersection you finally notice a road block.Â
There are three cars in a row stopping you from progressing. The dread in your stomach turns to icy fear as Bucky quickly throws the car into reverse. Only Bucky never gets the chance to get the car moving as a van ploughs into the side of the car.Â
The van hits you with such force that the car flips and slides until it rolls down a small embankment until it finally stops upside down.Â
Adrenaline is coursing through your body as blood starts rushing to your head. You can feel panic brewing in your chest as you move your head around. Your seatbelt is keeping you strapped in, so your movement is limited but you manage to look to your side and see Bucky unmoving.
The panic increases, clawing at your throat as your hands reach for the belt. You try to unclip it but its not working as you use your strangled voice, âBucky? Bucky?! You need to wake upâ.Â
You start pulling frantically at your seat belt but to no avail, âBucky! Please wake upâ.Â
You think you can hear voices further away, so you leave your belt and reach over to Bucky. You shake his as best as you can until you finally hear a groan. Relief floods you hard and fast at hearing him make a noise and you feel a tear slide down your face and fall to the floor.Â
After that Bucky comes around quick. He looks over to you, âY/N, you okay?â. You nod, your voice still coming out strangled, âbut I canât get my seatbelt off Buckâ.Â
He reaches for his and yanks it out with his metal hand. He braces himself from falling and then kicks his door open, âits okay, Iâll come and get you out now, donât panic, Iâm hereâ.Â
You watch him get out and try to keep your breathing even. Its not long before he rips the door away and half climbs back in on your side. His flesh arm braces you as his metal one yanks your seatbelt out.
The voices are much closer now as Bucky helps you crawl out. When you stand you notice blood trickling down Buckyâs face steadily from the top of his head. He starts to pull you towards the treeline, to try and run, but he stumbles. You catch him just about, but he stumbles again and this time you both fall to your knees. You see the men come around the car now and you know its over.Â
You hear Bucky slur, ârunâ.Â
You just shake your head as you take your jacket off and press it to his head, âIâd never leave you Buckâ.Â
His half-lidded eyes look at you, âplease run for me Y/Nâ.Â
You just give him a sad smile until a guy grabs your arm and yanks you away. To your surprise Bucky moves fast, throwing a punch before you even blink. The guy falls to the floor and Bucky catches you, both hands on your upper arms.
You stare at each other for a few seconds before more men come. Youâre ripped away from Bucky again and thereâs too many for him to handle on his own, especially in his current state. He holds his own until someone tasers him.Â
Bucky drops, convulsing on the floor. Despite his being on the floor the guy still carries on and you scream at him, âstop it! Please!â. You struggle violently until you hear him.Â
Isaacâs voice cuts the air, âenough. Get him in the carâ.Â
You want to throw up when Isaac steps in front of you. Pure hatred distorts your features as you look at him and his sick smile, âY/N, nice to see you again. Should we go somewhere for a chat?â.
They put you and Bucky in separate cars. They also put a bag over your head which did not help your breathing.Â
You think it was about an hour later when the car stopped, and someone dragged you out of the car. The only reason you went along with it is because they had Bucky, and you werenât going to leave him.Â
You felt the air change when you entered a building. You were finding it hard to keep up with whoever was pulling you along as your body ached from the crash. The man keeps pulling you no matter how many times you nearly fall, until you eventually get thrown into a chair.Â
Your hands and feet are immediately tied causing your joints to ache. When youâre secure to the chair, the bag gets whipped off your head.Â
You find it hard to see at first, your eyes watering at the brightness of the room. When they start adjusting you notice youâre in a warehouse, one that looks similar to Buckyâs where he takes people to interrogate.Â
The next thing you notice is Bucky in the chair opposite you. Heâs tied down too, except they used metal chains to keep him in place. His head is hanging forward, obviously still unconscious.Â
It doesnât take long for Isaac to make his appearance. He walks in smug and sure. You would give anything to claw his eyes out.Â
His voice echoes in the big space, âY/N, Iâm so glad you could join me, I hope the drive was okay?â.Â
You barely contain your hatred, âfuck off Isaacâ.Â
He shakes his head as he approaches, âIâve been nothing but nice to you and you talk to me like this? Weâll see if you change your tune soonâ.Â
Your heart squeezes painfully as he walks over to Bucky. Isaac takes a syringe out of his jacket pocket and injects the contents into his neck. You try to keep the panic out of your voice, âwhat did you just do?â.Â
Isaac steps back and looks at you, âits only a little something to wake him up. This wonât be as satisfying if heâs unconsciousâ. His words create a knot in your stomach.
It doesnât take long for Bucky to come back to the land of the conscious. He lifts his head slowly and you watch him take in the scene before his eyes land on you. You give him the smallest of smiles and you see his jaw clench before staring daggers at Isaac.Â
Isaac just smiles at Bucky until Bucky speaks, his voice hoarse, âwhat do you want?â.Â
Isaac studies him, âdid you gather much information on me Mr Barnes?â.Â
Bucky remains quiet, obviously not wanting to give anything away, so Isaac speaks again, âIâm assuming not and if you did, none of it was the right informationâ.Â
âWhat are you getting at?â, Bucky practically spits the words at him.Â
Isaac shifts his gaze to you now. His lingering eyes making the knot in your stomach tighten, âyou still donât remember do you?â.Â
You look at him confused, âremember what?â.Â
Isaac walks closer to you and you see Bucky strain slightly in the corner of your eye. Isaac speaks again, watching your expressions closely, âyour accident. I canât believe neither of you figured it out yet. I was thereâ.Â
You just became more confused and by the looks of it, Bucky was confused too. Isaac just laughs and carries on, âI orchestrated the whole thing. I planned the crash. Of course, you wouldnât know that, but I was there that day. I was the first person you sawâŚwell after you saw your mother dead next to youâ.Â
You didnât know how to process what he was saying, nothing was making sense. You were grateful that Bucky asked the questions for you, âwhy? Why Y/N? It doesnât make senseâ.Â
Despite Bucky being the one to ask the question, Isaac never takes his eyes off you, âI was a doctor a long time ago, until I lost my licence. I did research that allowed me to discover that certain people in the world have very specific different DNA profiles. I wonât bore you with the science, it would be wasted on you, but essentially if something were to happen that allowed that gene to evolve that person could unlock aspects of the brain that no human can do in tandem to their other parts of the brainâ.Â
Your mind was racing, and you were close to throwing up, but you managed to hear Bucky ask, âhow did you know Y/N had different DNA? And how the hell did you know causing an accident would work?â.Â
Isaac still spoke to you, âI discovered this when I was still a doctor. I had access to databases that allowed me to obtain blood samples of people I suspected that had these different DNA profiles. Y/N was on the list and I kept the list after I lost my licence. As for the crash, I had taken a few people to experiment on trying to unlock the gene myself, but it never worked. They all died. I thought a traumatic head injury might do the trickâ.Â
The anger in Buckyâs voice rang loud and clear, âyou caused a crash as an experiment and just hoped that Y/N wouldnât die?â.Â
Isaac runs a finger down the side of your face. You jerk away from it, âdonât touch meâ.Â
You hear the chains around Bucky shift. Isaac just tuts, âdonât be like that. I gave you a giftâ.Â
You couldnât help the way your voice raised in anger at him, âa gift? What part of it was meant to be a gift? The fact you killed my mother? The fact you made me homeless? Or perhaps the PTSD?â.Â
Isaac grabs your chin, but you move out of his grasp only for him to grab your face roughly. He speaks low, venom lacing his words, âdonât pretend like I did you anything less than a favour. Your mother was dying, and she was ruining your lifeâ.Â
He lets you go and steps back. You spit at his shoes, âyou ever talk about my mother like that again and Iâll do more than spit at youâ.Â
The fury on his face was hard to miss as he made a move towards you, but Buckyâs voice stopped him, âyou touch her again and I swear to every god that exists I will kill youâ.Â
Isaac turns to face him this time with a chuckle, âI donât think so Mr Barnes. Before I take Y/N away to carry out some tests, Iâll be making sure to kill youâ.Â
Your eyes flick from Bucky to Isaac as Isaac pulls out another syringe. He moves towards Bucky, âhow does it feel to know that you lost White Wolf?â.Â
Before Isaac can get any closer you shout, âwait! Please stop. If you promise to let Bucky go, Iâll go with you willingly. Iâll make it easier for you take me wherever you want. But if you kill him, Iâll fight you every step of the wayâ.Â
Bucky was looking at you with alarm on his face, but you ignored him instead staring at Isaac as he turned your offer around in his head. Isaac nodded slowly, âI suppose that wouldnât be too terribleâŚexcuse me for a momentâ.Â
Once Isaac leaves the room Bucky starts speaking to you, âwhat are you doing?â.Â
You give him a small smile, âsaving your assâŚagainâ.Â
Bucky shakes his head, âyou canât seriously be thinking about going with him for me?â.Â
Youâre surprised when your voice comes out steady, like you knew what you were doing, âBuck, even if I fought him, I would never get away. Look how many men he has here, and he could knock me out if he wanted and take me wherever he wantedâŚheâs taking me whether we like it or not, at least this way I get to save you in the process and you may even find meâ.Â
âI will find youâ, his eyes burn with promise. He drops his head, âthis is all my fault, I should have protected you better-â.Â
You cut him off, âno. Donât do that. None of this is your fault, we didnât know any of this would happen. So, stop thinking like that, you need to keep your head clear. No matter what happens it wasnât your fault and I wouldnât have changed it for the world. I love youâ.Â
He finally gives you a ghost of a smile, âsay it againâ.Â
You smile back, âI love you Bucky Barnesâ.Â
âI love you tooâ, his voice is thick with emotion and it broke your heart.Â
You never got to say anything else as Isaac walks back into the room. Heâs carrying a different syringe and you narrow your eyes at him, âwhat are you doing?â.Â
Isaac walks over to Bucky, âdonât worry, its just something to knock him out while we leaveâ.Â
You can see that it takes everything Bucky has not to resist it, but he also knows this is the only plan we have. After Isaac injects Bucky, it takes less than ten seconds for his head to fall forward again.Â
Isaac turns to you, âand then there were twoâ.Â
You pay him no attention as you commit Bucky to memory. Isaac unties you and starts leading you from the room when you say, âI told you to let him go, that doesnât mean leave him here chainedâ.Â
You watch him roll his eyes and he pull on your upper arm harder, âIâll get one of my men to untie him. We have places to beâ.Â
You donât detect the lie so let it go as you try and keep up with Isaac. He ends up shoving you into the back of the car before pulling you by your hair. The sudden movement causes you to cry out as he exposes your neck.Â
You feel the sting of the needle and the darkness claiming you before you fall sideways on the backseat.

Buffalo Bills: Things we know this week
Note: This special âThings we know this weekâ commentary is written by the so-called âNegative Stanleyâ. Returning next week will be the regular host and he and the readers of this piece attempt to recover from the negative nature of ole Stanley. Reader discretion is advised.
Nie bojÄ siÄ mĂłwiÄ, jak to jest. Organizacja Buffalo Bills jest w ciÄ

I am very much aware that the populace refers to me as âNegative Stanleyâ. âThe Negative Oneâ Surprised? Shocked? You donât haul a name like that for as many miles and decades as I have without becoming aware of what people call you behind your back. They eventually quaff voluminous highballs and spill the beans when intoxicated. I am aware.
I am also self aware. I tell it like it is being exactly why some people choose to like me. They may claim not to like me, but they adore me as will you. They know where they stand, where I stand and never get blindsided. They may get hit hard with reality or possibly verbally assaulted. Itâs a free country, well kind of, and I am allowed to express myself. I guess maybe possibly one or two folks out there choose not to like me so much.
I canât imagine not caring for my blunt intelligent personality. We wonât even get into my charm and good looks. Lots of MOJO at One Stanley Drive. I did something right to make it to this age which the exact number is none of your business. I had a fantastic wife who left this world much too early, but had suffered enough. I know Scott would say she suffered for all of those years being married to me or left to get far away from me and how much further could she get than the afterlife?
I would actually give him âknucksâ for that one. He is harmless. He got me this great shirt I am wearing right now. Oh yeah, you canât see it. Too bad. I digress. Ok ok⌠it says âJust One Before I dieâ next to the Stanley Cup. What a great name for a trophy. I also have one saying the same exact thing with the Lombardi trophy on it. However, it does not look like the Pegulasâ are going to see to it that my shirtâs request become a reality.
I have two grown kids who did well for themselves giving me five wonderful grandchildren. I worked many years at the Steel Plant until they devastated the region. I served my country in the army over in the Vietnam War protecting our freedoms. Conflict⌠my bad. Guess what that means? I can say what the heck I want to sayâŚand when I want to say it. Freedom of speech applies to my brutal honesty. Ha ha. You walked right into that one.
For those of you who know some polish, you are many steps ahead of everyone else. I will share what I wrote with you in English in my opening sentence soon. Forgive me if I am a bit slower at making my point, but I obviously got my âDingusâ on last week here in Buffalo being that Dingus Day was Monday and Buffalo is the âDingusâ capital of the world.
That being said old timer Polish Buffalo Americans such as I party Dingus style all week long. I recover slower than a few years back. That said, you arenât going to get the mushy âlove is in the airâ view on the Bills like you do from Mr. Scott. Beam me up Scotty. I love saying that interrupting him when he is talking making him forget what he was going to say.
Some weeks you would think he was on The Bills payroll. Not this guy here. This is what I was making clear to start things off. OK, what the first opening paragraph said for those boring un-cultured clueless readers who donât know polish.
âI am not afraid to speak as it is. The Buffalo Bills organization sucks and has no excuse to justify the horrible and embarrassing drought that they have been in for this century. They should have made the playoffs by accident one time in all of these miserable years of existence.â
Here comes the fun where some people will be cursing me.

Things we know About the Buffalo Bills and why they suck this week (and every week)
414-475-8 is the franchise record overall for the Buffalo Bills, dating back to when I used to go watch them play at the âRock pileâ War Memorial Stadium before moving out to Orchard Park into Rich Stadium in 1973. That record is pretty darn bad if you think about it.
That is almost four full seasons of losses below .500 and I was generous basing a season on 16 games when for a portion of the Bills existence a season was 14 games. Considering they did some winning in the 60âs with Jack Kemp and Cookie Gilchrist, the 70âs with O.J, the Chuck Knox coached teams of the very early 80âs and of course the âAlmost A Dynastyâ Hall of Fame loaded team of the late 80âs and 90âs. With that amount of winning teams come 475 losses. That is a lot of freaking losses to gather up any way you look at it.
For all of the good and great players the Bills have drafted over the years, rarely do you hear about the amount of picks they really missed on. Some the biggest busts start out with when the team selected Mike Williams at number four overall. Aaron Maybin at 11 also ranks right up there with him not even wearing a uniform for that many games in Buffalo.
Tom Cousineau was selected number one overall and chose to play for Montreal in the CFL. That really says your franchise sucks if you ask me. JP Losman was a first rounder who played himself right out of the NFL and to the UFL. James Hardy ended his NFL career with less than 200 yards receiving. I will stop there and not get in to Erik Flowers and James McCargo. Ouch. Okay, I shall stop.
Keep in mind the Bills have also drafted successful running backs high in the draft when they already had a very good one in place multiple times. In my view they could have changed their fortunes by taking a player needed elsewhere instead of running a good running back out of town making room for the new one. In my mind, Fred Jackson who was undrafted was better than the number one picks they used throughout the stretch in this millennium. They have also missed on a number of coaches as well. I digressâŚ.
On air image coach/consultant Gerry Matalan has been hired to work with the Buffalo Bills head coach. That is absolutely pathetic that they bring in a talent coach instead of just bringing in talent and a coach and win some games. Doug Whaley has been pretty much locked in his office after he just crashed and burned, embarrassing himself and the organization at a press conference.
The last several coaches have just put a foot in their mouth on far too many occasions in a town where fans are used to well spoken, great team ambassadorsâ like Marv Levy, Bill Polian and John Butler who had the advantage of winning to help the image, but usually were great representatives.
It is humorous that I include the man that told the media and fans to âget out of townâ, Bill Polian, on the list of role model examples on public image. He won a lot of games with several teams and is in the Hall of Fame. Winning solves everything after all. Teach your kids the right way. Winning is not everything.. it is the only thing. Not winning the Super Bowl. Not the division or even the conference.
Just win enough to get a wild card position for postseason play and you just really made things much better in all areas of the organization. If they start making the playoffs as a wild card team every year and exiting in the first game for multiple years in a row and become the playoff choking team as opposed to the team with the longest active playoff drought, letâs deal with that problem when that actually happens. Pathetic is the only word I can think of and I am only talking about one of Pegulaâs teams at the moment.
Todd Collins, Billy Joe Hobert, Alex Van Pelt, Rob Johnson, Doug Flutie, Drew Bledsoe, J.P. Losman, Kelly Holcomb, Brian Brohm, Trent Edwards, Ryan Fitzpatrick, E.J. Manuel, Kyle Orton, Tyrod Taylor. These are some names of the teamâs embarrassing attempt to find the franchise guy. Some of them had a good part of a season like Flutie and Drew Bledsoe with each earning a Pro Bowl appearance. Tyrod Taylor was an alternate twice in two years, but that was based on his combination of his rushing yards and his big play ability as well as his success not turning the ball over.
That still hasnât been enough to make him move the chains in all areas of the field or to lead big drives when needed at urgent times. He definitely is not to be mistaken for the âcomeback kidâ. Please do not read Scottâs article from the fall of 2015 where I am quoted. I really put Tyrod way up higher ranking than I should have. Scott was really making me out to be the story there like silent Bob was in Kevin Smithâs movies.
Did I mention Jeff Tuel?Â
Enough said. Names like these abetted reaching 475 losses. Names like these, decisions like these are indictable in a 17 year (and still going) playoff drought.
Names like these support my statement that the Bills organization just really sucks! Iâm too fired up to write anymore. I donâtâ know how Scotty does this every week. I actually really wonder WHY Scott does this every week. Scott always is playing a song by some British band Depeche Mode who he offered to go see with me if I treated in Warsaw. Thatâs fair⌠said no Buffalo Polish American EVER. The song isâ Walking in my shoes.â Scott, if you read this, I do not wish to walk in your shoes. I do not like your shoes very much. Or the Buffalo Bills currently. Beam me up Scotty. Stosh is out.
