Today I've spent like 8+ hours getting a bingo-game to work.
And that means that I've basically completed everything this class wanted me to do until 2nd of February.
#i'm kind of still very much disappointed in the structure of this class. bcs it amounts to:#''we've created a few assignments. and included a few links to more reading if you don't understand anything.''#but with absolutely zero amounts of ''actual teaching''. so... kind of a dick-move on their part.#but on the other hand? at this rate i might be able to finish the whole class before we reach february. and that'd be neat.#personal stuff#school#also. my approach to the bingo-game included wonderful things like: ''create a random number. check against a list.#not on that list? try again until it is.'' + ''in a 5x5 grid there are a total of 12 ways to get five-in-a-row. so i made 12 lists.#and then filled those lists with the numbers that their locations gave them. and then check if any of those fill up and boom bingo.'' +#''yeah. inputting this stuff got really wonky. so i just made the whole input-list reset itself if you fucked up. it's 25 inputs long.''#so like... i feel like i went a little bit insane there. somewhere along the way.#laughing

the morning after
summary: you want zayne to stay in bed with you for longer.
warnings: idk they're down bad for each other so it's implied sexytime. rated t if you squint
“Your eyes have specks of gold in them.”
“Oh, really?”
The sunlight streams through the curtains of Zayne’s room, falling softly on your entangled forms. Zayne runs his fingers through your hair slowly, deliberately, surely. His touch is gentle. You look up at him, fighting sleep in your mirth-filled eyes.
“Mhm.” You sigh, words falling out of your mouth before you could stop them. “Can’t tell if it’s gold and green… green and hazel, maybe jade…” You cup your lover’s cheek before pressing your thumb over his eyelids, and his breath hitches. “Just looks nice.”
He takes your wrist, presses his lips on your palm, and whispers, “How could you tell?”
Roses bloom on your cheeks. Flustered by the innocent gesture, you snuggle closer to his chest to cover your face. “Maybe I like your eyes, Zayne.”
You breathe in his scent. His cologne—cedarwood notes and a hint of leather, you think—hangs thick in the air. Your head spins, the scent reminding you of his discarded black button down, your lips on his neck, his hands holding down yours on the sheets…
Your heart thumps in your chest. You gulp, worried he’d notice your increased heartbeat through your skin.
Zayne chuckles, running his hand down your side and tracing circles on your hip. “Well, I like your eyes, too.”
You let out a breath, snaking your arm around his waist. You didn’t want to face him, not because your face felt hot, but because your control might slip from your fingers and never let him get out of the bed.
Not that you mind, really.
“Don’t hide from me.” You can almost hear him pout, his hand trailing up to your arm and purple-adorned neck before tucking your hair behind your ear. Your ear heats up from his fleeting touch. He then shifts his position to dip his head down to meet his lips with your forehead. “Will you show yourself to me?”
You shake your head, pressing yourself into him further. It isn’t that you haven’t shared moments like these before, no. You’ve slept together, multiple times, and yet you couldn’t resist feeling weak at the knees.
Last night wasn’t at all special. You ended work without any scratches on you. Zayne finished his shift too, and was able to pick you up afterwards. You had dinner together. You cuddled on the couch after your night routines. Two kisses turned into more, before making your way into the bedroom.
Normal, domestic, and yet he made you quiver.
“I don’t want to, I’m shy.” You mumble, lips dangerously near his collarbone. You feel his heart skip a beat. He’s remembering how you’ve made sure to place love bites right where you’re nuzzled.
“You’re shy?” He asks calmly, grazing his finger along your cheekbone and softly touching your lower lip. You stiffen, feeling your senses heighten at his icy—yet fiery—touch. “How could you be shy now? You weren’t shy at all when you moaned my name last night–”
“Hey!” You pout, smacking his back and looking up at him. He smiles down at you with eyes so lovestruck, you forget any semblance of a comeback on your tongue.
Finally showing your face to him again, he places another kiss on your forehead. “There you are, my aurora.”
You feel your face tingle as he peppers kisses on you. “Zayne,” you giggle, flailing your arms a bit, “that tickles.”
He continues through it, your laughter filling the room. He rolls you both over as he presses you against the bed with more of his love. You squeal when his lips finally meet yours in a soft kiss, his arms caging you under him.
After a while, you gasp for breath when his tongue darts out to graze your bottom lip. “Wait, Zayne…”
He pauses as he takes a breath too, jade green eyes scanning your face. “Did I hurt you?”
“No, no.” You shake your head, averting your gaze. You don’t realize you’ve been tracing the scars on his back. "I don't think you could ever hurt me."
The clock on your bedside reads 6:00AM—you should be out of bed already. You almost shrink when you ask the inevitable: “It's just... aren’t you going to work?”
You almost wanted to plead, but with his nature of work and yours, you couldn’t be glued together all the time. It’s just been a while since you shared an intimate moment like this with him, and if you could freeze time, you would.
“Work?” He runs his thumb over your cheek, “I am working. I have a patient to take care of at home.”
You raise an eyebrow. “I’m not in pain.”
“You have hickeys, which are bruises, on your neck. You also said you can’t feel your legs when we washed up last night.”
“Whose fault is that, then?”
“Apologies.” He looks away, embarrassed. “Let me take care of you.”
You chuckle, cupping his cheek. He looks back at you with those gold-speckled eyes of his, and he immediately nuzzles his face into your palm. “I love you,” you sigh.
Like a blizzard of emotions slowing into falling snow, Zayne brings you into a mind-melting kiss. His hands linger here and there as both your hearts beat in unison. There is no sign of stopping now, not when he whispers "I love you," back into your skin.
Normal.
Perhaps mornings like these constitute what normal should look like. No one watching your movements, no responsibilities. Just you and your lover spending time together without a care in the world—and it’s all that you could ask for.
🪐: hope you enjoyed! i finally got to finish this after whatever the fuck happened in my final semester. jesus

AN: This story is mainly for @reidgif I hope you like it!
The buzzing sounds was satisfying to Spencer’s ears. Though not as much as your whimpers and quiet moans.
His fingers play with the feel of the remote of the bullet vibrator in his hand, eyes glued to the case file that he was reviewing.
“Spencer…”
“I am not moving. I told you earlier when you decided to so desperately get my attention and be a brat in front of the others, that you were going to be punished.” His dark eyes flicked from the report to where you were standing by the suspect board. “Now you need to keep working or we will never get to go back to the hotel.”
You let out a sob but turned back to the white board and lifted your hand to shakily write something on it. You knew that when you dragged Spencer on a “lunch break” only to want to eat him.
“Oh fuck,” Spencer moaned, his hands gripping your hair as he guided your head up and down his cock, “you are going to be in so much trouble later, you fucking inpatient slut.”
All you could do was moan around him, not caring at the moment what was coming later. All you wanted was him. To feel him. The taste of him on your tongue.
Your eyes met his, teary and cheeks hollowing out, propelling him towards his climax until he came in your mouth, giving you the “lunch” you wanted.
Now here you were, in a (thankfully) empty precinct, underwear sitting on the table and a bullet vibrator inside you going at a slow steady pace.
There would be times you would get used to the slow vibration, thinking you could work peacefully, but Spencer was attuned to you and would crank the dial higher, dropping you to your knees in a moaning mess, the pulsing pushing your close and closer to a high you so desperately wanted, one you had been denied for an hour now, only for him to quickly turn it back to the dull buzz.
“I think he is specifically targeting women with blonde hair.” You were able to squeak out something, surprised with yourself that you were able to make it through the sentence without losing yourself.
Spencer let out a low chuckle, the sound sending a shiver up your spine since he was much closer then he was before. When did he get up?
“I can’t believe this has rendered you this stupid,” His finger bumps up the vibration once, a whimper escaping your throat, “since that was something we already knew. Anyone with eyes could tell that they are all blondes.”
“B but-”
“Don’t you even finish that sentence.” Spencer rolled his eyes, stepping back from you and started moving some of the papers from the conference table. “I don’t want to hear it from a crybaby like you. You are so lucky you are so cute because if I had known how stupid you were, I would have just done this myself.”
You knew he didn’t mean the words he was saying, but right now you almost did believe him. You were so horny and wet that it didn’t matter about the case, as horrible as that may seem.
“I might as well get something out of being here with you. Get over here and bend over.”
If you were in your right mind, you would have been embarrassed with how fast you complied with his order. The coolness of the conference table feels amazing against the flush of your skin.
Spencer let out a cruel laugh at your eagerness, but didn’t say anything. No, instead he cracked the bullet up as far as it could go.
A scream ripped from you, the feeling a blessing and a curse, driving you physically up the conference table and sensually closer to your end. Your legs shaking and the only thing holding you up was Spencer’s hand on your lower back, his gentle touch contrasting with the harshness of his actions and words.
“God look at you. Crying from how good that feels huh? Isn’t this what you wanted? My attention? Well guess what you fucking slut,” He leaned in close, his weight pressing you into the table, his sent filling your head, “You have it.”
Whines and cries fill the room, the best thing Spencer has ever heard as you finally are forced to let go of the tension coiling in your gut. Curses flying past your lips as well as his name.
If anyone just so happened to come into the precinct now, they would know exactly what was happening and who was making you feel this good.
Spencer pulled the bullet out of your cunt by the string, throwing it behind him and not even bothering to turn it off. Slumping against the table, bliss completely deafening you to the sound of Spencer undoing his belt.
Next thing you knew your leg was being lifted up to rest on the table and the blunt head of his cock was pressing into you, one swift thrust filling you to the brim.
“Oh shit!” You cry, fresh tears streaking down your cheeks.
Spencer groaned, his lips coming to kiss the back of your neck and up to your ear, his facial hair lightly tickling you. “You are so wet. Feels so good.”
That was the nicest thing he has said to you all day.
Drawing back just enough for his tip to be the only thing inside, you could feel his smirk and knew that the one kind word was the only thing you were getting out of him tonight. He snapped his hips, driving completely into you again.
He repeated this over and over, harsher with each thrust he drove into you. It was so good that all you could do was moan and drool against the table.
His laugh filled the room alongside the other sounds. “Look at you! So cockstupid that you would let me do absolutely anything I wanted. Who’s pussy is this?”
When you didn’t, couldn’t, answer him, Spencer gripped your hair, tugging you back to him and the new angle had him hitting that spot that made you see spots.
“Answer me. Come on. I know you can do it. Who’s. Pussy. Is this?” He accentuated every word with a deep thrust into you.
“Yours! Spencer, all yours!”
“Good girl.”
His thrusts continued assaulting you, pressing and pushing you into the table and into him. All you could feel was Spencer. All you could care about at the moment was Spencer.
“Oh shit.” He cursed, his blunt nails digging into your hips as he cums, painting your walls white.
Spencer stilled for a moment. You whimper and wiggle your hips for him, silently begging him to continue since you were so close. But you should have seen this next part coming. Didn’t make it any less horrible when he pulled out of you and stuffed himself back into his pants.
“No!” You cry. “Please please Spencer!”
“I’m tired and going back to the hotel. You coming?”
He smirked and you glowered at his double entendre. “Yes I am.”
“Not without me, my stupid girl.”
With that Spencer grabbed your panties, showing you that he was not even going to let you put them back on, and strode out of the conference room.
“Brats don’t get to cum. Maybe you will learn.”

☆ lie with you (smau 📲, twitter and messages)(M)

you were nervous and that was an understatement. you actually couldn't believe that you were able to transfer into your dream school leaving behind your family, your home and your loving boyfriend. when you meet your upstairs neighbors things start to change for the better - or worse.
you tried everything to keep your distance from the boy that showed her the stars in the sky have nothing to the ones in his eyes. he knows it won't last and you know it too.

part 1
this is a part 2 to another fic i did, but can be read as a stand alone!
post!prison reid x fem!reader
genre: enemies to lovers, smut with a plot
summary: after being put on a case with you, spencer realizes he might not hate you as much as he thought.
MDNI 18+
unfortunately, when working for the bau, having time off is very rare. you and spencer were harshly reminded of this. right after your successful arrest of the unsub at the nightclub, you were immediately put on a plane, incredibly sexually frustrated, on your way to another case.
you and spencer had (luckily or unluckily) ended up next to each other on a plane ride to the middle of nowhere in wisconsin. there had been a string of murders in the small town of hayward. four were dead and the unsubs rate of death was accelerating.
the flight was a little under six hours. just sitting next to spencer was excruciating.
the rest of the team had fallen asleep and although you attempted to sleep, you were simply just too horny. not being able to finish earlier, mixed with sheer anticipation had taken over you. you tossed and turned in your seat, a blanket pulled up to your chest. you open your eyes to look at spencer who had a book in his hands, his eyes on you.
you smile softly, sitting upright to get a better look at the handsome man.
“are you okay?" he asks softly, his kind voice still new for you. you nod, watching as he sets his book down over his crotch. hes still hard.
"i'm okay." you respond with a smile. "just, y'know..." you trail off trying to put your thoughts into words.
he laughs softly, completely understanding what you mean. "earlier.” he finishes your sentence with a smirk on his face.
“well i would ask how you feel about ‘earlier’, dr. reid,” you begin, your had moving from the armrest to rub against his chest. “but i can already tell.” you move your had quickly down his chest and hover your hand over his obviously hard cock in his pants. he gasps softly as you use one finger to trace the shape of him.
“fuck.” he groans, the use of a curse word throwing you off (and turning you on). “please.” he begs as you push softly on his cock, feeling a wet spot from precum already forming.
“use your words.” you demand, kindly, your dominance going straight to his dick. spencer liked being dominant, which he most definitely was going to be when the plane fucking lands, but right now he wanted to be taken care of. he needed to be taken care of.
“touch me.” he says simply as you begin to undo his belt quietly.
“ok, pretty boy, but i’m going to need you to keep quiet, can you do that?” you reply, reaching your hand into his underwear, pulling his hard cock out. he was huge, bigger than you would’ve guessed, especially for a relatively skinny guy. his tip was red and angry, begging for your attention.
“yes.” he says breathlessly, watching you hold his cock. you smile, throwing your blanket over his lap and over your arm, deciding that sucking him off would make too much noise.
you use your pointer finger to spread his precum over the tip of his cock, eliciting a muffled groan from the man.
you begin to move your hand down his cock, causing spencer to cover his mouth with his hand. his pupils were blown and his chest rising and falling fast. it was an amazing sight.
you felt yourself getting wet as your hand began to move faster on his cock.
“this feels so good.” he says, his praise only fueling your desire. the man bites back a moan just watching you concentrate on letting him cum.
“fuck, y/n,” he gasps out his hips bucking into your hand. “i’m close.” you pick up your pace a bit, making the handsome man roll his eyes back in his head and cum all over your hand. you stand up and take a look around the jet to make sure everyone was still asleep. luckily, penelope garcia had given the whole team noise cancelling headphones for christmas, so no one heard a thing.
you smile leaning in to give him soft kiss on the lips before walking to the bathroom to wash off your hands. when you return, spencer's eyes are closed and you can't help but kiss his cheek. he opens his eyes slowly, reaching up to grab your waist and pull you onto him. he throws the blanket over your bodies and kisses your forehead softly.
you squirm slightly, still feeling horny. he looks up at you, eyes barely open. "your turn?" he asks, referring to your pleasure. you laugh softly shaking your head. he was half asleep and still offering to make you happy. "no, its okay pretty boy, we'll save that for later." he nods, a smile on his face.
"are you sure?" he asks, turning his head so he could look you in the eyes, perhaps to see if you were lying.
"yes, i promise." he kisses you on the forehead before falling asleep, his arms around you.
───── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ─────
although you managed to get some sleep in spencer's arms, you knew that soon enough someone would wake up and you both would get caught. so, an hour after falling asleep on the handsome man, you painfully peeled yourself off of his lap and back into your own cold seat.
luckily, no one had (seemingly) seen anything, which was good.
as of now, you were leaving the plane to go to the hayward precinct.
"we'll check in with the chief of police, then dave and i will stay over night while you guys go to the inn and get some sleep." emily announced as they began piling into two large black suburbans.
they collectively thanked prentiss and rossi before heading to the inn.
"wait so when she says inn..." you ask, climbing the the back seat. jj nods.
"yeah, this is a small town so there isn't really any place for us to stay near by."
tara climbs in the passengers seat and luke slides in next to you.
the rest of the ride there was relatively normal, minus a few jokes about you & spencer's make out session at the night club, that you chose to ignore.
you arrived to the inn quickly, grabbing your designated room key and head to your room.
“fuck!” you yell, surprised to see someone already in your room.
“shhh.” spencer says, coming up to close the door behind you, taking your bags from your hands and setting them down by his feet.
“i missed you.” he says, causing you to roll your eyes.
“it’s been like thirty minutes, pretty boy.” he smiles, wrapping his arms around your waist and pulling you into him. you laugh as he picks you up easily and carries you over to the queen sized bed.
“i’ve just been thinking about earlier.” he says, laying down next to you.
“oh yeah?” you say, turning you head to face him.
“uh huh,” he says, pulling your body closer to him allowing you to lay your head on his chest. “i want to make you cum now.” he says, his voice low. you look up at him allowing him to tip his head down to kiss your lips.
“jj.. is.. next.. door.” you huff out in between kisses. spencer shrugs, flipping your position so he’s on top of you. he begins kissing and biting down your jaw and neck, using his hands to expertly remove your shirt. he lets out a small groan when he rips the shirt off you, revealing your tiny, lacy bra.
“off please.” is all you manage to say, but somehow he understands. he unclasps your bra in a single motion, throwing it to the floor, exposing your hardened nipples.
“y/n..” he says lowly, his eyes filled with lust. “so pretty.” he continues to trail kisses down your neck and chest, until his mouth lands on your tit, sucking softly as his other hand teases your other nipple.
you groan softly, that familiar wet feeling returning in your underwear for the third time in 24 hours.
although you’ve just started, your groans and boobs had already gone straight to spencer’s cock and as he kissed your body you could already feel his hardness pressed on your leg.
you buck your hips up against spencer, begging for some friction.
“i need you inside of me, spencer.” the use of his name he was so unfamiliar with made his pants grow tighter.
“so needy.” he jokes with a smile, moving to remove your pants, his mouth watering at the sight of your covered pussy, a perfect wet spot in the center.
“so, so pretty.” he sighs, hooking his fingers in your underwear and pulling it off of your legs.
without warning he inserts two of his fingers in you, causing you to gasp and moan at the new sensation. you slowly attempt to remove his shirt as pleasure blinds your senses.
soon enough, spencer is moving down to attach his mouth on your cunt. “spence, please, im gonna cum. i need you inside me.” you moan, your back arching. this garners a moan from the handsome man, his noises echoing in your pussy.
you expect him to pull away, but he doesn’t. you feel your walls begin to tighten as he returns his fingers into you, allowing you to finally cum.
you moan and groan, his name on your lips.
even though your only semi cognizantas you recover from your high, you can’t help but notice the way spencer has begun to crash his hips against the bed.
“inside me.” you demand, your breathing heavy. spencer smiles as he removes his pants, leaving just his boxers, and crawls over top of you. he captures your lips in a heated and sloppy kiss, the remnants of your orgasm on his lips.
you reach down, breaking the kiss to remove his underwear, his hard and leaking cock sticking straight up. you smile as he pecks your lips, moving himself so his cock is aligned with your entrance.
he glides his cock over your slit a few times, causing you to beg him to be inside you. you’ve never felt this desperate before. he slowly pushes his large dick into you, causing you to groan, slightly in pain due to his size.
“you okay, baby?” he whispers, noticing your discomfort. you nod as your walls adjust, his size now feeling incredible.
he begins to pump his cock in and out, immediately hitting you in your sweet spot.
“fuck.” you moan, throwing your head back. he uses his hand to move your face back, towards him.
“i want to see your pretty face when you cum, y/n.” he says, in almost a demanding manner, but still with kind undertones.
his words don’t fail to turn you on, somehow even more.
“oh, you like that?” he says through a moan, as his pace quickens, the leud sounds of his cock driving deep inside you, mixed with moans, fill the small room.
“i’m close,” spencer admits, through breathy moans. you open your mouth to respond, but all that comes out is a deep moan.
you feel his dick twitch inside you as rubs your clit with his fingers.
“cum inside me, please.” you beg, feeling your core tighten around him, your release nearing.
“are you sure?” he asks, his movements becoming more sloppy, his skin coated in a thin layer of sweat.
“yes!” you confirm as you reach your climax for the second time, spencer following quickly.
his hot cum fills you up as he continues his movements, riding you both through your highs.
when you’ve both had a second to catch your breaths, he pulls out of you, leaving you full of his cum, but missing his cock. you smile as he gives you a slow kiss, laying down next to you.
“you’re so perfect.” he whispers into your hair as you lay your head on his chest. you smile, happy, but a little confused how just over a day ago you couldn’t stand this beautiful man.

Full Masterlist // Joel Miller Masterlist
It started because you needed pills.
FEDRA had again increased the prices for the medication you and many other people needed, you, to get through you period every month and you had heard from a friend of a friend of a friend that there might be another way to get it.
It was back then that you met Joel Miller.
You were at the speakeasy after a long day of pretending to love getting to cook meals at the FEDRA base on the other side of the QZ.
You hated the job, but it paid well and left you being able to sometimes steal shit so you put a fake smile on while the FEDRA officers lined up to get their food at the make shift cafeteria you were working in, ignoring their lingering stares and attempts to flirt with you.
It had been a long and exhausting day and you wanted a drink when your friend Carl told you that Joel Miller was here. You followed the way he was pointing at, being met with dark eyes already looking at you.
He was not what you expected.
Smugglers you had met before usually were younger and making you uncomfortable for various reasons.
But Joel Miller was attractive in a dangerous way.
He was sitting at the far end of the underground speakeasy, his jeans clad legs spread widely. He had a drink in his hand, that was resting on his thigh, the sleeves of the dark shirt he was wearing pushed over his elbows, showing his strong arms.
But it was the way he was looking at you that made you realise that Joel Miller could become a problem for you.
It was the first night he had fucked you.
In a dark corner outside of the speakeasy, his hand wrapped over your mouth to keep you quiet as he railed you against the cold stone wall, spilling his cum over your still clothed back before you could cum, leaving you to clean up by yourself while he made his way back inside.
You had to finish yourself off the moment you got home.
A pattern that you didn’t know would continue for the next years.
It was easy.
You let him fuck you and he would get you the drugs you needed.
Yes, you could afford to pay him with ration cards. It would probably even better for you. But over the years this arrangement you had was now going, you started craving the way he was using you.
It was the only human connection you allowed yourself to have, even though it only rarely ended with you getting to climax. Something that you realise should bother you more.
It wasn’t like he didn’t make you feel good. He did. He was big and rough and just what you craved.
He just wasn’t in it for you, but for him and him only.
Joel came, every single time.
Be it on your ass, on your tits or in your mouth. He always finished.
It was always the same procedure.
Every three months you’d meet up at the speakeasy. He would fuck you from behind either there or at your home, never his, and you would wake up to a three month supply of the drugs you needed on your kitchen table.
You asked him once how he did get inside of your apartment and he said that you should learn how to lock your door.
But tonight something was different.
You had run into him on the street after your shift. Another thing that seemed to happen more often.
In the last couple of months Joel seemed to always be where you were. Something that had not happened in all the years before.
It had only been three weeks since you met up and he asked if he could come over later.
Confused you had agreed.
If you were honest with yourself you had been looking forward to spending the rest of your day with the bottle of wine you had stolen from the FEDRA kitchen some weeks ago.
There would be memorial services all over the QZ tonight, the curfew being lifted for the day before and for Outbreak day.
You couldn’t believe it already had been ten years.
You were already a glass of wine in when you heard a knock on your door. Event though you knew who it would be (you never got visitors) you checked before you opened the door for Joel.
He nodded at you as he entered and you leaned with your back against the closed door, watching him in your space.
You came to the realisation that you only ever spend time with him when it was dark outside. Like he was a monster that was hiding under your bed.
He awkwardly turned around to look at you and you tilted your head to the side as you looked at him, waiting for what would happen next.
„The supplier for your drugs got killed last week. I don’t have someone new yet, but I have these,“ he reached into this back pocket and showed you a small tube of pills.
„These should last you for four months more. I’ll try to figure something out for after,“ he said. You nodded, taking a step towards him. He held out the tube of pills and you took it from him, reading over the faded out ink on the label that read the name of a woman that was probably long dead.
„Thank you,“ you said quietly.
„Take a seat, I’ll just put them away,“ you said. He nodded and you turned around, walking towards your little bathroom. You put the pills away, before you looked at yourself in the small mirror above the sink.
You asked yourself why he chose today to come over and give you the pills. He could have waited until the next time you were due since he had a full supply for the next time.
Not that you were complaining.
More than once you had tried to come up with a plan to have sex with Joel more often than you did, but for some reason you felt silly with every idea that you had.
You could ask, but you didn’t think you could handle if he said no, so you made your peace with the arrangement you had.
You just wanted to spend more time with him, feeling yourself drawn to him.
Taking a deep breath you made your way back towards your kitchen area, where Joel was now sitting at your small table. You were overwhelmed with the urge to climb into his lap.
Instead you picked up your glass of wine to take a sip.
„You want a glass too?“ You asked him.
„Sure,“ he nodded. You picked up a mug.
„Only have that one glass, sorry,“ you said sheepishly as you filled the mug with some wine and brought it over to him.
„Where did you get that from anyway?“ He asked, his fingers brushing over yours as he took the mug from you.
You sat down on the chair next to him.
„Stole it from the FEDRA pantry,“ you shrugged and he looked at you with a raised eyebrow before he shook his head, his mouth twitching into a small grin.
„Unbelievable,“ he said looking at you with warm eyes before he brought the mug up to his lips.
„They have so much shit they don’t need. Makes me angry to see everyone suffer while they get to eat first class meals. So I sometimes take things,“ you shrugged.
„Anything else you took?“ He asked, leaning towards you.
You sucked your bottom lip in, before you got up.
„I usually take small stuff. Spices, herbs and shit. But,“ you bend down, opening the cabinet under the sink and reaching to the very end, searching for the two bottles you hid there some time ago, grinning when you picked them up and turned around, missing him staring at your ass.
His eyes widened when he noticed what you held.
„Shut the fuck up," he said in awe and you chuckled.
„You want some Jack and Coke, Miller?“ You winked and he shook his hand with a grin.
„If you’re offerin’“ he winked.
„Please,“ you moaned, letting your head fall down against your pillow as Joel fucked you into you mattress. You were so close. He had one of his hands on our back, pinning you against the mattress while he pumped his cock into you in deep hard thrusts.
He had gotten you naked not long after you offered him the first glass of whiskey, asking you if you’d like to suck his cock while he emptied his glass.
You did, keeping him on the edge for almost an hour before he pulled you up and told you to kneel on the bed.
You were surprised to find him pulling you up against his chest moments later, his skin against yours as he played with your tits.
Usually these fucks were quick, leaving no time to really get out of either of your clothes. And if you had the time, it was always you who got naked.
„Always so fucking good,“ he moaned behind you and you gasped. You reached one hand between your legs to play with your clit when Joel groaned and pulled out of you. Whining as he turned you around you looked up at him as he jerked himself off before he moaned and spilled his cum all over your body.
You were annoyed for a moment, having been so close yourself but that disappeared the moment you saw how relaxed Joel looked. He was mumbling something you couldn’t make out before his eyes opened, taking you in as you laid on your back with his cum all over your stomach and chest.
„So pretty,“ he mumbled before he let himself lay down next to you. He stretched his arms to the side and you sighed, slipping your fingers through his cum on your chest, bringing it up to taste it. With a grin you turned your head towards the side to look at Joel only to find him asleep.
Disappointed you sat yourself up before you made your way back to your bathroom to clean yourself up.
After taking care of your business and brushing your teeth you grabbed a glass of water and made your way back to your bed. Joel was still sleeping, laying completely naked in your bed, his flaccid cock still glistening in your juices.
Shaking your head you grabbed your spare blanket and put it over him before you snuggled under your blanket. You switched the small lamp on your bedside table off.
Usually he would be gone by now.
He never stayed, let alone fell asleep next to you. It made you think back to the last time you had shared a bed with someone. Ten years ago.
The last time your life had been normal. The last time you had been truly happy. The last time you had slept in the arms of the man you thought you would grow old with only to wake up to him trying to kill you.
Closing your eyes you shook your head, trying to get rid of the memory that haunted you every single day. You turned your head to look at Joel.
He looked so much younger when he was asleep. The lines around his eyes almost gone, his lips resting in a pout. Adorable.
You spend more time thinking about Joel Miller than you would ever admit.
Of course you heard the stories around the QZ about him. How he took no shit from anyone. He had the reputation to be brutal and cold.
But he never was with you.
You hummed, letting your hands ran down your body, before you brought one hand between your legs while your other hand played with your tits.
You moved your fingers over your clit, your pussy still wet from Joel fucking you.
Thinking about how he felt when he fucked you you pushed two fingers inside of you, humming quietly. It wasn’t his cock, but it would do the job. Moving your fingers inside of you, the palm of your hand massaging your clit.
„Fuck,“ you whispered, moving your hips slowly. You pulled your fingers out, focusing on your clit instead and you smiled when you felt the familiar feeling of your orgasm approaching. Arching your back your blanket slipped down, revealing your tits to the cold air.
Your lips parted as you took deep breaths, your orgasm so close you could almost taste it.
You released a long and happy sigh when you finally came, biting your lip as you rode it out. Relaxing back into your bed you closed your eyes, smiling to yourself.
„Can’t get enough, huh?“ Joel’s sleepy voice startled you and your eyes opened wide, finding him looking at you as he laid on the side.
Caught, you felt your cheeks burning before you turned your head away from him, hiding.
„Uh. Yeah. I just… needed to cum again….“ You mumbled awkwardly, intending to get out of the bed to flee into the bathroom, before you felt his fingers wrap around one of your writs, holding you back.
Nervously sucking your bottom lip in you turned back to him, finding him already looking at you with narrowed eyes.
„You did cum earlier, right? I felt it,“ he said.
You just looked at him, trying to figure out how to get out of this situation when you slowly shook your head. He blinked once, twice at you before his eyes widened.
„You didn’t cum?“ He asked, confused.
Suddenly feeling too naked for this conversation you pulled your blanket up and over your breasts as you turned on the bed towards him.
You took a deep breath.
„No. I did not,“ you finally said and if this situation wouldn’t be so awkward you would laugh at his horrified expression.
„But… You… You… I felt it? I did, didn’t I….“ He was speaking to himself and you took his hand.
„It’s not a big deal. Maybe it’s me. It’s always been hard to finish and…“ You were stopped as he squeezed your hand.
„You did finish before with me, right?“ He asked slowly.
You nodded. „Of course!“ You said quickly.
He narrowed his eyes again.
„How often. And don’t lie to me,“ he added. You looked down at your hands.
„Joel, can we please just… I don’t know. Sleep? This is… You make me feel so good. Really. And that’s….“
His fingers tilted your chin up so you had to look at him.
„How often?“ He asked again and you sighed.
„Once,“ you mumbled.
„Once?“ He asked with wide eyes.
„Yeah. But Joel… I like the way you fuck me. It feels good and I don’t care if I cum or if I don’t cum. And I mean it’s a business transaction really so it doesn’t….JOEL!“ You cried out his name when he grabbed you to lay you down, throwing the blanked off your body, his body caging you in.
„Do not say that it doesn’t matter. Just because it’s business does not mean that it doesn’t matter that you don’t cum. Why didn’t you say anything?“ He asked.
„Because this is fucking awkward,“ you whined.
„Doesn’t matter. I don’t make you cum, you tell me. Or better yet,“ he said as he slowly slipped down your body.
„We not gonna leave this bed until I know exactly how it feels when you cum,“ he said and you felt his beard lightly scratch over your stomach, before he settled between your legs.
„But Joel. You don’t have to do this. It’s just sex,“ you said and you saw him close his eyes before he took a deep breath and looked at you again.
„Hasn’t been just sex for me for a while. Why do you think I keep looking for reasons to run into you,“ he said and it was like something clicked inside your head. You had been seeing him fairly often these last weeks. But he never talked to you. He sometimes nodded at you when you saw him, but there was nothing else.
„So please, let me learn how to make you cum so I don’t feel like a dick who has been using the woman he’s been crushing on like a fucking teenager?“ He said and you grinned.
„You are crushing on me? That’s adorable,“ you teased and he chuckled with a shake of his head before he kissed your inner thigh.
„Not a big talker. But I now how to use my mouth in other ways,“ he winked before he licked through your folds, making you gasp.
„And I need you to guide me, so I know what to do the next time,“ he said.
„Next time?“ You asked.
„Next time,“ he nodded, before he began to eat you out.
He started slowly, his tongue exploring your pussy, humming at your taste. You could not take your eyes off of him.
His strong arms were wrapped around your thighs, keeping your legs parted as wide as he needed while he nibbled and sucked and licked you, driving you positively insane.
Once he had you cumming on his tongue he used his fingers. Saving every single expression and sound you made to his memory so he would never forget what made you cum.
In the early morning hours he had you coming on his cock, squeezing him so hard he almost spilled inside of you, yet he fucked you through your orgasm until he pulled out and spilled himself all over your pussy.
You were almost asleep, exhausted and utterly satisfied from the five orgasms you had in the last hours, when you almost missed him pulling you against his chest and kissing your shoulder, mumbling a sleepy „Love you“ against your ear.
Making you fall asleep with a smile on your face.

# DARLING, I — chapter thirty-seven!
when new york city’s widely-known spider-woman's life becomes unknowingly entwined with a member of the rising global girl group katseye, she learns that juggling superhero duties, university, and a sudden crush may or may not just be the downfall of her. but hey, at least she's helping people, right?
SPIDER-WOMAN

it wasn’t often that manon left the house on her own — either dragging daniela or megan along with her to stroll around the streets of nyc to shop or simply have a breath of fresh air — being strictly forbidden by management in case a fan or a stalker had managed to find them, regulating safety in numbers every time.
however, after the events that occurred the past few weeks, the girls decided that it was better if manon was given time for herself. it was something to get used to, the feeling of loneliness stacked on top of responsibilities within the group. and if it were a few weeks ago, she could just go on twitter and stalk y/n, see what she’d been up to or think of ways to talk to her, perhaps hint for a second date, or try and find spider-woman’s whereabouts to distract herself.
though it’d dawned on her, on a friday night after finishing up a call with her father that maybe she had missed the photographer a bit too much, never being able to quite focus whether it came to learning a new choreography, or paying attention to conversations in general.
it was odd. they hadn’t talked for that long or gone on many dates, a mere few months with barely meetings in person, yet she couldn’t get her out of her head. it was like she’d imprinted herself on every nook and cranny of her brain, pushing any other thoughts she might have that wasn’t about her.
an experience it was, truly, to watch who may be the love of your life slip through your fingers and have nothing to do to prevent it, and she’d never felt so low and weak her entire life. what could’ve been-
“hey!”
a startling shout pierced through the air, snapping her out of her reverie and flicking her eyes up to the source of noise and oh my god, is that spider-woman? the woman in red spandex swung towards her and landed expertly in front of her, the ghanaian woman blinkling in confusion. though before she could get a question past her lips, spider-woman had carried her bridal style and swung past buildings, arms wound around her waist as the strong gust of breeze felt like a slap to the cheek.
a delayed yelp was lost in the air as the two were flung up mid-air, spider-woman glancing down at her in confusion. “did you not see the news? rhino’s escaped prison, and he was heading your way.”
the hero's voice was strained, something manon had dismissed as effort from both carrying her and swinging at a fast rate, feeling her stomach drop when spider-woman had made a particularly large drop and coming hurtling down before swinging back up, the arms that were around other other’s neck tightening as she buried her face in her neck, eyes screwed shut.
landing beside a cop car, spider-woman gently placed manon down on her feet. standing there for at least a few seconds and staring at manon before reaching a hand up to fix the scarf she’d had wrapped snugly around her neck, adjusting the grey fabric and making sure it was back to how it looked before.
“stay safe.” what the absolute fuck.

He Chose You (Pt. 6)
Lucifer/Reader: Lucifer wants you to be the Mother of his child. Rated E bc Explicit.
Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4 | Part 5 | Part 6 | Part 7 | Part 8 | Part 9 | Part 10 | Part 11 | Part 12 | Part 13 | Part 13.5 | Part 14 | End
((This one fought me so hard, I just wanna get it out there and I’ll proof-read it later I’m sorry.))
The first time didn’t take, as you’d come to learn 3 days post-coitus with the Devil. It had left you bereft, not exactly disappointed but also not certain if you should go out and buy 150% proof alcohol to mark the occasion.
You settled for enough wine to dull your senses before sending a text with your Hellphone. The fact that inter-dimensional phone lines were possible was simply added to the list of not-even-gonna-think-about-it of things that came with your new reality.
A blood-curdling shriek from your pocket made you curse as you dove for it.
“Hey.”
“Hey-yy!” Lucifer responded cheerfully before clearing his throat. “So it um… it didn’t work?”
“Unless being pregnant with hellspawn looks and feels exactly like my time of the month, no. It didn’t.” You said.
He sighed on the other end, air blowing through the receiver and fucking up already poor reception. “Okay. Shit. Well, maybe we can work something else out—”
“I’ll just text you when it’s over and we can try again.” You replied as you leaned back against your headboard.
“You-you wanna try again?” Lucifer’s surprise made your eyes roll.
“Yeah, just give me a couple days.” You’d felt a wave of fatigue crashing over you.
Suddenly you were boneless, barely able to even hold the phone up to your ear. Lucifer’s hesitant delight barely registered yet you could imagine him behind closed eyelids, smiling crookedly with those ivory fangs.
“Y-I-uh, ok great! That works for me if it works for you!” He practically shouted. “Do you need anything in the meantime?”
“‘Mmmmffh, a nap.” Lucidity snapped back for a moment as you eyed the phone in your peripheral. “Also please don’t call or text me. I’m gonna throw this thing out the window if I have to hear someone screaming bloody murder one more time.”
—
Lucifer being startled by the ringing of his Hellphone wasn’t at all peculiar.
However —
The sound of a love song, though tinny and compartmentalized to the King of Hell’s coat pocket, made Asmodeus perk up.
He glanced down to see his diminutive brother rush for the device like his life depended on it. It was easy to feign polite indifference as Lucifer excused himself from the cafe table for a moment, but by the time the King had returned, Asmodeus was leaning forward expectantly.
“That’s new.” He said.
Lucifer looked up wildly, as if he’d been caught snatching aphrodisiacs from Ozzie’s own stores.
“Huh, wha? What’s new?” He laughed off the embarrassment, re-taking his seat.
Asmodeous sipped from his teacup, clocking the many idiosyncrasies Lucifer displayed.
He was flustered, still gripping the phone between his claws, and had perched on the edge of his seat so that he could bounce a leg against the ground.
“Love songs aren’t your usual style, babe.” The Prince spoke casually, but his eyes were bright.
It was delightful to see Lucifer stiffen as soon as he realized what his companion referred to. One of the best about the short King was how easy he was to tease, if you asked the Embodiment of Lust himself.
“Didn’t know you were finally getting out there, Louie.” Ozzie teased. “Were you gonna keep it a secret? Even from me?”
“Oh n— out there? Me?! Ha! No!” Lucifer shook his hand fiercely. “I’m not — it’s not like that! We’re not dating! I mean, some might see it like that but a lot of others wouldn’t! She wouldn’t… probably! It’s, ya see, actually — I — ahem, ah…”
His embarrassment grew into something stranger, more conflicted and melancholy. The teasing smirk on Asmodeus’s face flattened.
“It’s complicated.” He finished, looking down at his phone as if it were the sole reason for his sudden misery.
Ozzie wasn't soft on many (in fact he’d argue that being hard was his speciality) but his brother was one of the few.
The much larger Sin rested a hand against Lucifer’s back. “You wanna talk about it?”
—
The days that followed blurred together, monotony of aches and pains broken only by an insatiable libido. It was as if the promise of sex after this, however unfulfilling it might be, was the only thing keeping you alive.
Lucifer’s bizarre consideration held up over that time, surprising you enough that when it was time to give him a ring, you weren’t as dread-filled as you could’ve been.
He did, however, arrive in your home via furnace suspiciously quickly upon making contact with you again. His normally pristine suit and and impeccably coiffed hair were ruffled and singed, like he’d made a mad dash to get to you.
“Hell-Oh!” Lucifer had practically squeaked as you dragged him out by the lapels.
You’re so pent up that it’s hardly a surprise when you find yourself sitting on his lap, having manhandled the short King onto your couch.
His cold, smooth skin was still alien, but you powered through the initial aversion to chase after that zing that came with kissing him. It was addictive, even with the fear of being cut by his sharp teeth in the back of your mind.
Despite yourself, you took a second to break away and breathe.
Beneath you, Lucifer was positively flushed. His shiny, wet lips were parted in wordless awe, and eyes glazed over in his daze.
“Fuck.” He croaked.
You smirked, gripping onto the blond hair that had already been mussed and abused by overeager hands. Pointedly, you slid back and forth on his trembling lap. There was no way to ignore the hardness at his inner thigh.
—
The first drag of his cock against your walls made you shudder, arching as your head fell back.
Lucifer whined in his seat, claws digging into the plush of your thighs. The pain heightened the feeling of being stabbed twice, making your lower belly tremble.
“Fuck fuck fuck fuck fffffff —” His cries were so good, you couldn’t stop from grinding down onto him. “You feel so good. So. Good. You’re gonna kill me, sweetheart. I can't.”
“That’s ok.” You slurred, hands coming up to wrap loosely around his neck. “We can work on that.”
Lucifer opened his mouth, but you were already planting kisses against the corner of lips mouth, his cherry-spotted cheeks, the line of his jaw and the pulse beneath his ear.
—
Your hands were focused on exploring the planes of Lucifer’s chest and shoulders. He wasn’t muscular — or tall, obviously, but the lithe body intertwined with yours was more than easy on the eyes.
“You can touch.” It was hardly fair that yours were the only hands busy. The ruler of Hell was flat beneath you, artificial light from your bedroom lamp casting shadows on his marble chest.
Lucifer’s mulberry-dappled lids remained low, highlighting the yellow glow of his eyes. His claws slid up your hips, reverently tracing your frame as you bounced lightly.
“If you insist, princess.”
He was more coy after the first few rounds, an easier grin sliding across his face. The trembling touches against your breasts spoke of the still-nervous creature you’d first been introduced to.
—
Daylight was waning again when you found knelt, back pressed against Lucifer’s chest. He fucked into you wildly, teeth pressed into your bare shoulder.
The thought of him biting into you didn’t sound so frightful anymore. In fact the image set butterflies off in your stomach.
That and the way he held you close, wrapped vice-like around you like a boa constrictor.
“No baby, don’t go yet!” When you squirmed, Lucifer nuzzled into the side of your neck, breathing heavy. “Just like this. Please, baby.”
He pleaded into your neck, grip tightening to where you couldn’t breathe.
—
“Here.” You guided his hand, settling it between your legs.
Lucifer’s thrusts had grown shallow and uneven, but hadn’t quite stopped. He seemed entranced, watching as you positioned his thumb over the bundle of nerves just above where you two were joined.
“Gently. Watch your claws.” You murmured along with your hands-on teaching.
When you felt he’d gotten the message, you sighed and concentrated on the circular motion against your clit. Lucifer remained attentive, moving clockwise as the pace he’d started before picked up again.
In moments you tensed, pleasure sparking along your pubic bone. It built up as your eyes closed, head tipped back as you let yourself enjoy the pressure both inside and out. Your hips jerked upward of their own accord, core trembling and cunt spasming.
Your partner whimpered at the new intensity, which only egged you on. Before you knew it, you two were rocking into a chaotic rhythm.
With slit eyes, you saw Lucifer looking down at you, flustered yet rapt over your every little response.
“Yeah?” He asked breathlessly.
You nodded. “Mm-hm.”
It was difficult. You could feel the tension in your belly contracting, the heat and pressure building against your clit. The feeling was mounting to where you couldn’t help your keens, your moans, your whimpers.
It ended with a choked sigh. You arched from the bed, head falling back as you let your legs tremble and shake around him. The convulsions pulled the Devil in deeper, and the feel of him was enough to make your eyes roll back in your skull beneath fluttering eyelids. Another gush came at the thought of being so full you could feel it in your stomach.
Lucifer watched. His face was nearly as red as the apple that adorned his hat, knocked off of your bedside table. He had the expression of someone seeing a falling star for the first time. Stunned, eyes gleaming, unable to comprehend something despite how beautiful it was.
The former Angel lowered himself to capture your mouth with his own. He pressed luxuriant kisses to your lips, all while his hips stuttered between your thighs until he was humping into you, refusing to separate skin from skin.
His release was coupled with a heated groan, muffled by the slide of your tongue against his. You were glowing inside out, warmth blooming in your core as you held onto Lucifer tightly.
—
The woman had invited you up into her tree. It was a different tree from the last, not bearing any fruit but lush with green needles and strong boughs that wouldn’t break.
She looks over her shoulder at you cheekily. “Aren’t you glad you decided to join me?”
You playfully scoff and roll your eyes. “You don’t need to be so smug about it.”
“Oh I think I do.” The blonde tilted in your direction, arms coming to wrap around you. “I won.”
You stay that way, watching the nettles shake in the passing breeze.
“Everyone loves a winner.” She says at your side.
You frown. “I love you no matter what.”
The woman sighs.
“You might not always.”
—
Light humming woke you from your doze, along with the repeated motion of something against your cheek.
It wasn’t until you’d opened your eyes that you realized it was Lucifer humming and caressing your cheek tenderly. He was nose(less) to nose with you, seemingly admiring your face slackened with sleep.
“What’s that from?” You rasped.
“Hmm?” The King stroked an errant hair behind your ear.
“It’s a movie.” You continued, repeating the notes in your head. “Right? It’s from a musical…”
“You like musicals?” Lucifer asked, seemingly surprised. Fangs poked out of his close-lipped smile, and he looked goofier than ever before.
You copied him, helpless to how silly he made everything. “What’s not to like?”
The lightbulb went off. “Oh! Cabaret. That’s where it’s from.”
“Yeah!” Lucifer moved even closer, the flat of his face pressing against your nose as he nuzzled you for guessing the right answer. “It’s kinda old, isn’t it? How’d you guess?”
“Psh, you think my threshold for pop culture is only as long as the last ten years?” You teased, arm skating down his side so that you could pinch his behind.
“Hey!”

Your final together was tomorrow, after a month of painfully hard work it would finally be over. Except you hadn’t heard from Jungkook this week at all. From what you can tell he seemed to finish all of his portion of the work. You on the other hand, due to some finals, were a little behind but you had no doubts that you would be able to catch up.
Not hearing from Jungkook did have you somewhat concerned.
You both were normal last week but this week radio silence. You had texted him just keeping him updated on the progress of your work. You choked it up to him probably being swamped with his own work, and his own projects for other classes. So you tried not too worry.
You sent one more text, anxiety rising with each passing minute.
:hey sorry to text you again. I’m just checking in! I should be able to finish in the next hour or two, so don’t worry.
:we are going to kill this presentation in the morning.
May have been a touch late to texting someone, it was 1:30 in the morning. You didn’t care though, he had texted you at like two in the morning before. So, you figured he’d forgive you.
But the second you sent the text.
The lights and your laptop had switched off. You sat in completely darkness. Suddenly the emergency lights shown by your door. You turned on your flashlight. Your laptop was old so your power being out means that you don’t have a laptop to work on. You made your way to the hall where some others had gathered. Asking what had happened.
Your RA eventually came up to your floor and told everyone not to worry, they were going to have the power on soon and to stay in our rooms for now. That we would get some text updates. You decided to not panic yet, soon after you did get a text saying that their was a an on campus outage and the problem would be resolved soon.
“Seriously?” you muttered, going back into your room. You texted Jungkook again.
:hey sorry I swear this is the last one, power in my dorm is out.
:and you know how my laptop is, so I have to wait until the power comes back.
:still going to kill it tomorrow!
Forty-five agonizing minutes later, the power finally returned. You rushed back to your laptop, praying everything was still there. But when you opened your document, it was blank. Completely empty.
“No,” you whispered, frantically searching for any backup.
Your entire month of work was gone. You tried finding a previous version, but there was nothing. Not on your hard drive, not in your email, not even a single backup copy. Every word, every citation, every carefully crafted paragraph—vanished. Except... Jungkook might have a copy.
You grabbed your phone and called him, your fingers trembling. Voicemail. You called again, and it rang once before going straight to voicemail again.
“Jungkook, pick up. Something happened. I need you to call me back.”
Panic set in as you scoured every corner of your computer. Desperate, you even checked old drafts and random notes on your phone, but there was nothing. Your heart sank. You called Jungkook two more times, but there was still no answer.
You were going to have to start over.
You knew the material—you’d been working on it every day for a month—but rewriting it from memory was going to be a nightmare. You took a deep breath, steeling yourself, and started typing. Every minute felt like an hour, but you pushed through. Tiredness clawed at you, and your eyes stung from the screen’s glare, but there was no other option.
Five hours later, you finally finished. The paper was nowhere near perfect, but it was something. A B, maybe a C at best, but it was better than nothing. Exhaustion overtook you the second you hit save, and you collapsed into bed.
It felt like only a second had passed when your eyes snapped open. You scrambled for your phone, the panic setting in again.
10:05 AM.
Ten missed texts and three missed calls from Jungkook.
“No!” You leapt out of bed, pulling on the first clothes you found, emailing the paper to yourself while sprinting out the door. You raced across campus, nearly tripping as you weaved through students, your breath burning in your lungs. By the time you reached the classroom, the hallway was filled with students leaving.
You pushed through the door, your hair a mess, sweat dripping down your forehead.
“Shit, no, no, please.” You spotted your professor leaving and tried to push your way forward, only to be blocked by Jungkook.
“Look who finally decided to show up,” he sneered as you stumbled in, breathless and disheveled.
“Jungkook--” you began, but he cut you off.
“Where the hell have you been? Why weren’t you here?” His voice was icy, and he took a menacing step toward you, making you step back.
“I—I fell asleep!” You stammered, tears welling up. Your exhaustion was really hitting you, and you couldn’t hold them in, “Did you see my texts? My calls? My voicemails?”
“Texts and calls don’t mean shit if you’re not here!” he snapped. “You’re acting like you care, but you clearly don’t. You’ve been flaky this entire time.”
“Jungkook, that’s not fair—”
“Not fair?” he cut in, voice rising. “Maybe you did this on purpose! Maybe you’ve been plotting to screw me over!”
The accusation hit hard. “Are you seriously accusing me of sabotaging you? I’ve worked my ass off for this project!”
Jungkook’s eyes were cold. “And where were you when it mattered? You think your excuses are enough? Friends don’t disappear.”
The recent reconciliation between the both of you now dissolving on the ground between the both of you. You both had taken huge strides to become friends despite your resistance.
“Friends don’t accuse each other of being petty schemers!” you shot back, the anger surging. “I’ve been working all night to fix this, and you’re just throwing all my effort back in my face!”
“Maybe I’m tired of your games,” Jungkook retorted, his voice dripping with contempt. “Maybe David was right about you. Maybe he was right that this is something you do.”
David, your ex-boyfriend. Who had manipulated so many people into believing that you were crazy, when he had cheated on you multiple times. What hurt worse? Jungkook knew all of this, knew that David was an asshole. Knew that David was an awful person who lied every time he spoke.
Now he was throwing it in your face, what the hell was wrong with him?
The sting of his words was unbearable. “How dare you! I trusted you to be reasonable. You said you believed me when it came to what David said about me. How dare you throw that in my face! I came here ready to explain, ready to make things right. But you’re too busy being a jackass to listen.”
“I may be a jackass but at least I can be relied upon.” he said quietly, almost dismissively.
The words cut deeper than any knife. “You know what? I don’t need to defend myself to someone who’s already made up their mind. You’re not worth the effort, since you are so quick to blame others. You’re just like David after all.”
You turned away, feeling tears spill down your face. You walked away, not looking back. You had to save your grades, even if it meant cutting ties with Jungkook for good. Didn’t really matter, you two didn’t know each other that well anyways.
You found your professor, explained everything through your tears, and showed him the evidence. He listened, though his sympathy couldn’t override the rules. He allowed you to submit your rewritten paper but couldn’t let you do the presentation. He promised to grade fairly but couldn’t guarantee a good mark.
You received a D. It was lower than you hoped but enough to pass. Jungkook, however, failed, delaying his graduation.
You felt a grim satisfaction, but the bitterness lingered. The loss of the friendship gnawed at you, even if you hated him. You’d never see him again, and you were more than okay with that.
That was five years ago now.
The memory lingered as fresh and raw as ever. You had moved on, grown, and carved out a space where Jungkook’s existence didn’t matter. That was until you became friends with Melanie, who in every sense of the word was your best friend. Though, because fate is a funny thing, she fell in love with Namjoon. Namjoon’s closest friend was none other than Jungkook.
That relationship kept you and Jungkook in each other's lives for longer than either of you had cared for.
Forcing the two of you back into each other’s orbit. That also meant facing Jungkook repeatedly, each time resulting in fights so venomous you wondered how Melanie and Namjoon put up with it. So many clashes over so many years, so many attempts by mutual friends proved futile in bringing the both of you together. Eventually, everyone gave up and just made sure to never have the two of you in a room together.
Now with Namjoon and Melanie’s engagement, a wedding loomed around the corner.
You leaned against the kitchen counter, mind still reeling from the past. The fallout from that final class had changed everything. Every time you saw Jungkook since then, it was an instant—words turned to daggers, and every conversation became a battlefield. Neither of you ever backed down; pride kept you both locked in a bitter stalemate.
“Just a heads-up,” Melanie said, breaking you out of your thoughts. She hesitated, eyes flicking away as if bracing for impact. “I know how you two feel about each other, but he’s Namjoon’s best friend.”
You knew what was coming, but you still grimaced. “Don’t tell me.”
Melanie sighed. “Jungkook is his best man.”
You clenched your jaw, the anger bubbling up instantly. You had known this was inevitable, but it didn’t make it any easier to hear. “Of course, he is.”
Melanie’s living room felt unusually tense, the soft glow of the evening sun doing little to warm the atmosphere. Melanie had always been the bridge between you and Jungkook—constantly trying to keep the peace, but it was becoming increasingly clear that this time was different. You couldn’t just show up, exchange a few biting remarks with Jungkook, and call it a day. This was her wedding. This was the culmination of everything she’d dreamed of, and she deserved your best effort.
Melanie took a deep breath, her stern expression softening just slightly. “I know it’s a big ask, and I wouldn’t push it if I didn’t have to. But Namjoon and Jungkook—they’ve been through so much together. He’s not just a friend to Namjoon; he’s like a brother. And I need you both to make this work.”
You nodded, feeling the weight of her words. Melanie was trying to keep the peace, but the sadness in her eyes was unmistakable. She had seen you and Jungkook tear each other down time and again. Seeing the tears you shed over the times he would hit the nail on the head, and say something that went too far. Held you back from starting a physical altercation with him.
Each encounter was more bitter than the last, and every argument chipped away at the thin veneer of civility you both clung to.
“I promise,” you said, your voice steady despite the resentment simmering underneath. “I’ll be on my best behavior.”
Melanie’s lips twitched into a small smile, but her eyes remained cautious. “Thank you. And I mean it, no half-hearted attempts. I need rainbows and kindness coming out of both of your asses.”
You laughed despite yourself, appreciating the way Melanie could still inject humor into even the most awkward of situations. “Got it. Rainbows and kindness. I’ll bring a whole damn unicorn if that’s what it takes.”
“Good, I don’t know what I would do if we had another new years situation.” Although it was years ago, that was probably the worst fight you and Jungkook had. The things that were said and the drink you dumped on him are very present in your mind. Made you laugh to yourself even but it definitely caused a bot of an issues in your group.
You shook your head, feeling a familiar pang of bitterness. “Yeah that was a really low moment for me. I think because of that things between us will never change. He’s still that same arrogant jerk who can’t own up to his mistakes. And I’m done pretending I care enough to fix anything.”
“People change,” she said softly, it was something she tried to convince you of many times. “But I get it. You don’t have to be friends—you just have to coexist.”
“That, I can do,” you said firmly. “I’m not going to let him ruin this for you.”
“Thank you,” Melanie said, squeezing your hand. “I’m so happy you accepted the role. I couldn’t imagine my wedding without you there.”
“For you? Anything,” you replied, your resolve hardening. You would hold onto your promise to Melanie, no matter how much Jungkook got under your skin. This wedding was about Namjoon and Melanie, not you and whatever animosity you harbored toward Jungkook.
The room lapsed into a comfortable silence, but your mind was racing, already plotting ways to avoid Jungkook’s inevitable provocations. You pictured the rehearsal dinner, the ceremony, the reception—any scenario where the two of you would be forced to interact. You would keep your distance, smile politely, and not engage. If Jungkook’s presence was like a storm cloud threatening to ruin the day, you would be calm. You owed Melanie that much.
“When the wedding rolls around, I’ll keep up appearances and be civil and kind,” you said, trying to reassure not just Melanie, but yourself. “Jungkook might be the spawn of Satan, but as long as I don’t speak to him directly, everything will go perfectly.”
No amount of promises could erase the deep-seated anger you felt every time you saw his face. This time, though, you would have to bury it, if only for a weekend. You would smile through gritted teeth, hold your tongue when he inevitably said something infuriating, and pretend you were above it all.
You had months to prep yourself though. Plenty of time to make sure that nothing Jungkook could do could piss you off.
Nothing that weekend will surprise you.

Unwelcome (Joel Miller x Reader)
Part Three of Whiskey Tears
Rated: Angst | Violence | Fluff | Suggestive | Age Gap | Assault | Language
Summary: You, Joel, and Ellie have been a trio from the start. You were a family, but you find your relationship with Joel withering when he starts to pull away. Now a new comer makes her way into Jackson and into Joel’s heart…
“Joel.”
Two months have gone by since that day and everything seemed to be slowly slipping away from your fingers. You were having trouble adjusting, but you were having even more trouble at the thought of loosing Joel.
“Joel.” Your fingers wrapped around his arm and you gently shook him.
He didn’t touch her or kiss her, but her presence was just there. Always around him. Always driving a wedge between the two of you.
“Joel. It’s time to wake up.” You spoke softly.
It hurt and so you argued more than you ever have. Even before when you were a firefly, neither of you argued this much. You argued until there was nothing left. Until your breath could barely keep you alive.
His eyes opened to find you kneeling beside him on the floor. You were beautiful… You were always beautiful to him. He glanced to the window where the sun was already high up in the sky.
“Where are the others?” He asked.
“Ellie is at the barn again, apparently she’s got a real knack in taking care of the horses. You two might just get your sheep farm on the moon soon.” You spoke softly as you brushed loose curls away from his face.
His hair was getting longer and it made you smile, “You need a haircut love.”
“Don’t wanna do it.” He mumbled.
“I’ll do it later tonight.” You rubbed your thumb against his cheek, taking in the precious moment between the two of you.
He leaned into your touch making your heart jumped before worried settled in at the dark circles under his eyes.
“You need to stop sleeping on the couch Joel.” You sighed as you rubbed his arm, “You need your bed.”
“But you need—” He began to say, but you didn’t let him finish.
“I know.” You sighed before getting up, “Come, we have to meet with Maria and Tommy soon. Maria says she has some good news.”
Joel nodded his head as he sat up, his back aching from the couch. If only he was younger, this would feel like nothing. Maybe then he wouldn’t be so insecure when it came to you. He silently got up and made his way to the bathroom to get ready.
You were pouring him some coffee when he appeared in the kitchen.
“Your shirt is on backwards.” You spoke teasingly.
“Shit.” He muttered as he took off his shirt because you were in fact right.
You couldn’t help the way your eyes raked over his chest. He wasn’t overly fit, but he had muscles where it count. Your cheeks heat up as you remember the night you were able to touch him, run your hands across his chest over each scar he had. You didn’t realize how much you missed that and the only thing you could do is bite your lip to keep yourself from hopping across the counter and jump him.
“And what about Heather?” Joel asked once his shirt was fixed.
You took a sharp breath and your feelings turned sour, “She’s with Mikel.” You explained shortly.
His brows furrowed, “Mikel is supposed to be on patrol today.”
You nodded your head, “He’s going to be teaching her the ropes now that she’s been here for a while and settled in.”
“I could have done that.” He stated gruffly, “After what she’s been through, she is not very trusting towards anyone.”
You took in a sharp breath, “Everyone has been through something Joel.” You said carefully, “I asked Maria about it and we agreed Mikel would be a great fit for her. I was on a route with him when you disappeared, he’s my age and very capable of protecting her if need be.” You encouraged, “Besides, you and I go on patrol, you wouldn’t have the time to do both.”
“So you decided this on your own without asking me about my opinion?” He asked gruffly, a sharp edge to his tone.
You looked down at the counter. You were too embarrassed to admit that you did decide without asking him because you were scared he wouldn’t choose you.
“It’s you and I.” You stated as your voice wavered, “It’s been you and I.”
Silence grew between the two of you.
“Not always.” He finally said in a tone so soft you wouldn’t think it would come from Joel Miller himself.
And boy did what he say hurt you then any physical fight you have ever been in. What could you say to him? To be able to have him hold you in his arms again? To stop dragging you through rusted nails… You just wanted to stop hurting and he just kept pounding on the nails with a hammer.
“I am here now.” Your voice wavered, “Standing right in front of you. I am here, alive and bleeding out to you.”
You could see the wavering look in his eyes, “You’re too young.”
You held your ground, “You can’t keep pushing me away Joel.”
He shook his head, deciding that staring at the wall behind your seemed more interesting then the tears forming in your eyes, “I can’t do that to you.”
“Do what?” You quickly walked around the counter to face him, “Love me? Because if so why did you kiss me huh? Why did you touch me? Why give me hope that you could actually love me back? Tell me then. Tell me that you don’t love me.”
Your fury grew when his silence lingered.
“Tell me Joel!” You yelled at him and in that moment you were glad that Ellie wasn’t in the house.
He didn’t answer… He didn’t want to because he knew what he would say and he knew that would be the end of him. Instead he turned and did what he always did… Keep everything buried.
“Come on. We’ll be late.” He turned and walked to the front door without touching the coffee you made him.
You glared at him with nothing with but a heart filled with fiery, “It’s because you love me too. Isn’t it?”
His shoulders stiffened, but that was all the answer he would give you as he walked away.
You gave a small sigh before following after him.
It was long before you were hopping up the steps to Tommy and Maria’s home. Joel trailed behind you as you knocked on the door.
Not even a moment later and Maria was greeting you with her famous smile.
“Good morning.” You returned her smile and gave her a hug.
She gave you a tight squeeze, “Good morning.” She ushered you both inside, “Tommy’s making breakfast or at least trying to.”
“Oh boy.” You breathed out a laugh as the two of you followed her into their little breakfast nook by the kitchen.
“Mornin.” Joel greeted his brother.
You pulled out Joel’s chair before taking your seat as Maria brought over two mugs of tea.
“Thank you, I needed this.” You breathed out as you held the mug.
Your eyes then flickered to Joel pulling out a chair and sitting across from you.
Of course he’d do that. You sighed. Always one for the dramatics.
You were upset that he didn’t want to sit next to you, but you figured it was because of the conversation you both had earlier. Maria took a seat beside you instead, a small smile on her face as she watched Tommy bring over what was a poor attempt at omelets.
“Don’t say one word.” Tommy’s voice was playful as he barely scolded Maria.
Maria raised her hands up in mock surrender, “I didn’t say anything.”
“You didn’t have to.” Tommy huffed with a small laugh as he took his seat as the head of his table.
“I think that food speaks for itself.” Joel joked.
“It looks… Edible none the least.” You murmured as you picked out egg shells, “You wont hear me complaining.”
“It’s perfect hunny.” Maria smiled as she leaned over a placed a kiss on Tommy’s cheek.
Your heart melted at the sight and an ache filled it. You could only dream of being that way with Joel… The things you would do just to get that man to show you that he loved you too.
The rest of breakfast was going over the upkeep of Jackson and the repairs that needed to be done. Apparently Liza and Julio’s spotted one of the perimeter fences on the east wall being bent inward from the snow the has been pilling up against it and some of the vegetables aren’t doing so well with the cold.
“We should get a group together to fix the fence first.” You said, “I can help out as well.”
“As for the vegetables… This winter is a lot worse then the previous ones we’ve had. We will have to make do with the vegetable we got until we get to warmer weather.” Maria stated.
“That sounds good.” Tommy agreed, “And I will put together a team after our breakfast to start working on the wall. I’ll let you know if we need any help, but thank you for the offer.”
“Of course Tommy.” You nodded your head.
“I also want to switch patrol routes with Mikel.” Joel announced at the table as breakfast was beginning to come to an end.
You looked away from your food and towards him within a second of his words appearing from his mouth, “Why? I thought our route for this week was pretty good.”
“No. I want Mikel to start taking you out on patrol.” He stated simply.
You dropped your fork, “Why? Did I do something wrong? Is this about earlier?”
“No.” He said again and you swore it was his favorite word, “You said it yourself. He’s younger and stronger. That means he can protect you.”
“I don’t want him to protect me.” You glowered, “I have you.”
“No. You don’t.” He stated gruffly, “You can’t rely on me forever.”
“I’m not relying on you! I pull my weight just as much as you do. We’re a team and you can’t just split us up.” You yelled at hi, “I won’t let you.”
He stood up abruptly with a scowl, “Enough! Fuck just listen to me for once! I’m doing this for you!”
“For me?” You stood up as well with a scoff, “You know what, I’ll listen to you when you start making sense Joel!”
“I don’t want you! Can you listen to that?!” He yelled and suddenly the room went silent.
“Fuck you Joel.” You murmured before storming away.
“Have your fucking switch then! See if I care!” You yelled before slamming the door.
“Good job Joel.” Maria rolled her eyes. She stood up and began to collect the dishes, “When are you going to stop being an asshole and realize that you need her just as much as she needs you?” She stated before walking away to put the dishes in the sink.
She rushed to the door to put on her shoes and coat before going to find you. You were more important to her than some dirty dishes that she can clean later.
Joel sighed as he slumped down into his seat.
“What’s going on brother?” Tommy asked.
Joel didn’t speak, not for a few minutes. He was trying his best to keep himself from loosing his shit.
“Nothing.” He mumbled.
“Well that’s a stupid answer coming from you.” Tommy laughed.
“I’m old Tommy.” Joel sighed.
“Yeah.” Tommy laughed, “We’re all old and what’s your point?”
“She’s not.” He stated simply.
A realization dawned across Tommy’s voice, “Is that why you are pushing her away?”
“She deserves more than an old man.” Joel sighed in defeat, “I just wish she would see that.”
“That’s not for you to decide.” Tommy pointed out, “That’s her decision and I can see that she’s not going to change it.”
“But I can help her change it.” Joel said as he looked up at his brother, “Just help me make her see that. That Mikel kid or whoever could be good for her. She needs someone her age and I need someone my age. That’s how it should be.”
“So what? Is that why you’re so attached to Heather? Because you feel like you’re not enough for the girl who has been in love with you for months just because she’s a little younger?”
“It’s not just a little younger.” Joel grumbled,
Tommy shook his head as he stood up, “I’m not going to help you break her heart.”
“You did this with Ellie too and look how that turned out?”
Tommy placed a hand on Joel’s shoulder, “You deserve happiness too, brother.”
“And she deserves someone who is strong enough to protect her.” Joel replied, a solemn tone to his voice.
You soon found yourself scrubbing aggressively at the bar counter.
“Fuck him.” You grumbled as you cleaned, “And not in the good way. Not like he’s been wanting that lately.”
Maria nodded her head, “I’ll admit he is being a dick.”
“Who’s being a dick?” Ellie hopped up on a barstool.
“Joel.” You and Maria both said at the same time.
That is until you did a double take to see that it is Ellie.
“Aren’t you supposed to be working at the barn?” You asked inquisitively, “What are you doing here?”
“I finished all my tasks and saw you both in the window. Why is Joel being a dick?”
“Sweetie, you can’t call him that.” You scolded her lightly, “And he’s not… He’s just…”
“Being a dick.” Maria stated simply.
Her input made the three of you burst out laughing. You smiled at the lighten mood as you reached for a glass. You poured Ellie some water before setting it infront of her.
“Can’t I get some of that?” She asked, pointing to your glass that you were currently filling with whiskey.
You shook your head, “Not until you’re old enough.”
“But it’s the apocalypse?” Ellie looked at you confused.
“Doesn’t mean someone as young as you can drink.” You crossed your arms.
Ellie sighed, “Yes mom.”
“Maybe just talk to him later tonight. Find the real reason about his decision.” Maria advised.
I nodded my head before looking at Ellie, “I’m not going to lie to you. Joel and I are arguing. Can you please stay with Maria and Tommy tonight so I can talk to him?”
Ellie nodded her head slowly, “Why are you two arguing? Is it because of Heather cause if so I don’t like her.”
I sighed, “It’s hard to explain and even harder to talk about it. I won’t talk badly about your dad, not in front of you.”
It was late by the time you went home after you dropped Ellie off at Maria and Tommy’s. They gave you some good news that cheered you up a bit. It might just be the change you both needed. Now all you had to do was tell him. You were just trying to get the courage to step inside your front door.
You finally stepped inside and was met with the lights being on, but no one around.
“Joel?” You called out to him as you took your shoes off.
He didn’t answer you, but you could hear soft muffled voices coming from upstairs. You took a step, each one leading you up the stairs and down to Joel’s room… The door was already wide open and an unwelcome feeling filled your gut as you got closer. You weren’t sure if you wanted to know what lied behind the doorway.
Your body however, carried you into the room. Relief filled your chest at seeing the bed empty and left how you made it in the morning. You glanced around the room to the light that flooded out from the bathroom. You stepped closer to the door, a female laugh fluttering from it making your stomach twist and your chest tighten at what you saw.
Joel sat on a stool that was definitely taken from the kitchen and a bath towel draped around him. Heather stood with a pair of scissors as she cut at the ends of his hair. This was thing that you were supposed to do not her.
“You’re cutting his hair.” Your voice was dull as you repeated what you saw.
“Oh! Yes, I forgot my hair tie when I left this morning so I came back and overheard you telling Joel that he needed a haircut and I thought I might help out and give him one.” Heather smiled at you.
You bit the inside of your cheek. Your gaze flickered to Joel’s who was staring at you from the mirror. He could see the fallen expression on your face and the way that you were holding back your tears.
“I think she can finish my hair Heather.” Joel said without taking his eyes off of you.
“But…” Heather tried to say something else, but he cut her off.
“Thank you.” He said simply.
Heather released a huff before walking towards you and handing you the scissors before leaving.
“C’mere.” He spoke with a gentleness in his tone that you haven’t heard in months. That tone always made you shiver and you felt like he knew that. Of course he did, he’s fucking observant when he wants to be.
You felt like your emotions were going to explode as you stepped towards him. The events of earlier today and now walking in on seeing the person you wanted to punch in the face touching your Joel’s hair… You were either going to punch the man or kiss him depending on his explanation.
“I know you wanted to do it, but she was insistent that she could do it because she used to cut her husband’s hair before he died and she missed it… I had a hard time saying no.” He explained carefully as if he were talking to a stray cat and maybe you were in that moment, but his explanation seemed to apease you enough.
You nodded your head. You didn’t want to argue, not after today. You ran your fingers through his hair before taking a few strands to trim.
“I don’t like how we left off earlier.” You spoke softly.
“I know.” Joel sighed, “I don’t either.”
“I really don’t want to go on patrol with Mikel. I want to stay with you.” You pleaded lightly.
Joel furrowed his brow, “That’s not up for debate.”
“It shouldn’t even be on the table.” You muttered as you took another strand of his hair, a huff passing your lips in frustration, “I don’t like the way she cut your hair.”
Joel chuckled and warmth filled your stomach at the sound, “Then fix it firefly.”
You continued to cut Joel’s hair the way you knew he liked it. The way that it made you want to run your fingers through his hair every second of the day. After some time in a peaceful silence, you spoke up to tell him about the news you heard from Maria and Tommy when you dropped Ellie off earlier.
“I have some good news.” You spoke timidly, “About Heather.”
“What is it?” He asked.
“Well… Maria and Tommy just informed me that Tris will gladly take Heather as a roommate. Apparently, they’ve been getting along really well together since Heather arrived here. Tris’s house is as big as ours and she says feels lonely having the house to herself.”
Joel took a moment to respond before he asked, “Does Heather know about this yet?”
“Not yet.” You whispered, “Maria and Tris are going to come by for lunch tomorrow to talk it over.”
“I see.” Joel nodded.
“Hey.” I giggled lightly as I barely smacked him on the shoulder, “Don’t move your head or do you want to go bald?”
“I prefer my hair thanks.” Joel grumbled with a small chuckle.
You smiled when he held still, “Better.”
When you finished trimming his hair it looked much neater and yet it had an un-tameness to it that made you bite your bottom lip. You felt a terrible idea pop into your head as you set the pair of scissors down before standing behind Joel. He looked at himself in the mirror with contomept.
“It looks good.” He agreed with your thoughts.
You ran your fingers through his hair as if you were smoothing it out until your fingers curled and you began to massaged his scalp.
His reaction was almost immediate as he leaned back against you on the stool. You could see his eyes roll to the back of his head as he let out a quite hm. It made you want to laugh at how pliable he was when you massage his head.
“I like it too.” You murmured to which he couldn’t quite process.
“Mm.” He agreed.
“How was your day?” You asked when you spotted the way his face scrunched up in pain when he moved his body.
“Had to rebuild that fence, go huntin with Tommy.” He murmured with a grunt, “Found a buck.”
“You must be exhausted. It was really cold today.” You continued to massage his head.
“Twas nothin.” He replied, but you knew better. You knew how sore he could get after a long day.
“I think it’s time we should head to bed, hm?” You asked in a soft tone as to not startle him.
“Mmhm.” He agreed without a second thought.
You leaned down a pressed a gentle kiss to the top of his head, “Come on then.”
You took the towel off his shoulders before leading him to his bed. He was too exhausted to argue with you as you made him lie down. You took his jeans, leaving him in his boxers and shirt as you covered him with his blanket.
“Good night Joel.” You whispered to him.
Your plan was to sleep on the couch tonight so that he could get some rest. You quietly slipped out of the room once you headed his breath even out. Your footsteps padded across the cold wood floors. You made sure to grab an extra blanket before padding over to the couch that Joel’s been using as a bed this past week. Of course his blanket was neatly folded on the side table with his pillow placed on top.
A small hum slipped passed your lips as you began to make your bed for the night. Hopefully it will be as comfortable as Joel has tried to make you believe.
“You’re really desperate aren’t you.” A voice carried its way from the kitchen entrance.
“Excuse me?” You turned to Heather with a shocked look.
“Desperation it’s dripping off of you like melted snow.” Heather said as if she was talking about the weather, “And your insecurity too, very unflattering might I add. When did your father die? I just want to know when your daddy issues started or have you always had a thing for older men?”
I stood up straight as I glared at you, “Just what’s your plan here? You really think you can throw insults at me and I would just crumble?”
“Oh I’m not insulting you at all. I’m just saying what I see and I don’t see much. Goodnight.” She smiled before walking away, leaving you there fuming.
What in the world was that about?
“I can’t wait for her to get out of my fucking house.” You muttered as you lied down on the couch.
You came to as you felt the warm glow of the sun hit your face. You stretched your arms as you yawned, rolling over to stretch further on your bed. Only you weren’t on your bed and you soon felt gravity as you fell onto the floor with a thud.
“Ow…” You groaned as you blinked your eyes open.
“Mornin.” Came Joel’s deep voice that felt like melted butter and whiskey.
“Fuck… Don’t do that.” You groaned as you rubbed your eyes with the palms of your hand.
His brows furrowed in confusion, “Do what?”
“Say mornin’ like you just came back from doing hard labor.” You huffed.
“But I did just come back from doing that.” He chuckled.
He did? Wait. Is his shirt off?
“Huh?” You asked dazed.
You tilted your head to find him leaning against the entry way with a mug of coffee in his hand, shirt intact. A bubble of disappointment filled your face until you spotted his smirk.
Shit… He knew what I was thinking. Of course he did.
You grumbled incoherent words, no doubt insults towards the older man as you stood up.
Joel watched you get up, he couldn’t help it. His eyes traced the skin visible from where your shirt had risen up as you slept. It was only, but a second before he shook those unwelcome thoughts away.
“Talked with Tommy, Ellie wants you to work with her at the barn.” Joel relayed the message he was given, “She’s waitin for ya.”
“Work at the barn? But I’m not that good with horses…” You sighed lightly in defeat, “But for Ellie, I’ll go get ready.”
“Atta girl.” He was grinning now and you knew he was remembering the last time you tried to saddle up your horse.
You weren’t bad at taking care of and saddling up horses so to say… You just weren’t that good at it either.
“Don’t.” You muttered.
“Wasn’t going to.” He mused as he took a sip of his coffee.
You padded over to him and reached your hand out, “Gimme.”
He raised an eyebrow at you, “Get your own, firefly.”
“I don’t want to get my own. I just want a sip. Please.” You reached towards his mug again.
He didn’t even try to pull it away from you. He just let you grab the mug out of his hand and drink the coffee he made for himself. How he was, the way he acted… It was like before.
Was this all because I massaged his head? You mused to yourself as you took another sip of his coffee. You couldn’t take your eyes off of his rugged handsome face. He looked a lot more rested. You noted.
You also noticed the way his eyes seemed to be staring at the way your lips wrapped around the rim of his mug.
“Morning you two!” The spry voice had you jumping.
You had forgotten that she was here.
“Morning.” Joel greeted.
You nodded at her, not wanting to greet her with a good morning after the way she spoke to you last night. You wondered if you should tell Joel what she said… Then you wondered if he would believe you over her.
He was in such a good mood though, you didn’t want to ruin anything.
“Tris and Maria are coming by for lunch, they want to talk to you about something.” You said to her as politely as you possibly could.
“They did? Well I don’t have any work today so I suppose I can tidy up the house a bit and make lunch for when they arrive.” Heather agreed.
As long as she agrees to moving out then I don’t care what she does.
Heather then poured herself a cup of coffee before looking towards Joel, “Do you want a cup handsome?” She asked him with a light tone.
A scowl made its way onto your face. You held up the mug you were holding towards her.
“He’s got some, but thanks.” You stated smugly as you handed Joel his coffee mug back.
He brought his mug up to his lips and took a sip from where your lips were just moments before. He looked none the wiser at the two women about to scratch each other’s eyes out. Of course he didn’t. Joel was never good at feelings.
You could see a scowl quickly appear and disappear on Heather’s face before she was back to her cheerful self.
“Okay, well there’s more here if anyone wants some.” She said before taking a sip.
You left the two and emerged fifteen minutes later dressed and ready to head out. Joel who was now sitting at the kitchen table with Heather talking about how Joel had to go help his brother today so he couldn’t help Heather clean the house.
You stepped up beside Joel, standing next to him while he remained seated. You ran your right hand through his freshly trimmed haircut, something that he didn’t mind at all.
“I’m going to head out to see Ell’s. Do you want me to pick up anything while I’m gone?” You asked him and only him.
Heather was leaving soon. You thought dismissively. Good riddance.
“We’re out of carrots. Maybe the two of you can stop by the garden and pick some up?” Joel asked.
You nodded your head as your hand traveled down to the side of his neck, “Anything else?” You asked as you rubbed the sliver of skin that wasn’t hidden by his flannel.
“No…” Joel said, his voice much lower than before as he glanced down at his coffee mug.
You gave Heather a triumphant look before stepping away, “See you later.” You waved them off before leaving.
It wasn’t long before I was met with an excited Elli who jumped on my back the moment she saw me.
“Soooo? How did it go? Was my leaving all for not?” She pressed, wanting to get all the gossip, “Shall I get my pitchfork?”
“I think everything went well.” I said as I smiled softly to myself.
I carried her over to the stables, trying my best not to topple over with the growing girl. I aware she was getting taller by the day.
“Maria told me that Heather’s finally leaving!” Ellie fist pumped the air by my head, “Dude, I swear she is weird as hell. Definitely hiding a bomb or something.”
I laughed as I set her down by the barn doors, “I couldn’t agree with you more.”
I faced her with my hands on my hips, “Now little bug. What is our mission today?”
A wide grin spread across her face as she clapped her hands, “Have you ever trimmed hooves before?”
My face fell, “Don’t tell me…”
“Yep!” Ellie exclaimed, “Get ready to possibly be bit, stepped on, and kicked.”
My eyes widened at her words.
“Let’s get to it!” Ellie stated as she grew open the barn doors.
“Oh boy.” I sighed, but followed my daughter nonetheless.
The sun was high in the sky by the time you and Ellie were walking down our street. The two of you were holding hands as Ellie swung your linked hands as hard as she could. Your other hand was carrying a small bag of carrots that Joel had asked for and you hoped he’d be pleased that you remembered.
The two of you were laughing as Ellie recounted your great fail at trying to keep Buttercup still.
“I still can’t believe she pushed you over.” Ellie laughed as you both walked into the house, “Joel!” She yelled.
The two of your were giggling as you entered the living room to find the two of them on the couch. Heather was in a mess of tears, clinging to Joel who was trying to console her.
“Uh…” Ellie’s voice trailed off in confusion, “What’s going on?”
You left to place the bag of carrots on the kitchen counter before returning to the living room to listen to Joel explain.
“She’s having a panic attack.” Joel explained as Heather buried her face into his shirt.
He was quick to pull her into his side and settle her. That movement made you frown as you watched the two. Why the hell is she snuggling up to him? Why is he allowing it?
“About what?” You asked as you looked between the two skeptically.
“About leaving. She doesn’t want to go.” Joel explained.
“I’m sorry!” Heather sobbed and you couldn’t tell if she was really crying or if she was that good of an actress.
“It’s just I don’t feel comfortable around anyone else.” She continued, her voice laced with guilt and remorse.
“What do you mean? You and Tris get along great. I know that because she told me that herself.” You crossed your arms, not buying the ‘I’m scared act’, “She said that you two go out for lunch together almost everyday.”
“I know, but that’s different than living with someone. She’s the first friend that I made here and I just don’t want to ruin it. I can’t bring myself to leave, I’m so sorry dear.” Heather carried on as she wiped her tears.
You sighed, not liking the idea of trying to console her, but you would use any means if it would get her out. It’s been weeks now and you’ve just about had enough, especially after last night.
“I’m sure to won’t be too bad.” You tried to persuade her, “It might be nice living with someone your age.”
“But you have proved it yourself that’s not the case.” She countered as she motioned to Joel and Ellie.
“I’m just gonna go…” Ellie made a motion to go upstairs and you nodded before she ran away.
Lucky girl.
“I don’t want to be a burden to any of you. I really am sorry for my decision, please don’t hate me.” Heather insisted, “I really would love for us to be friends.”
You tried not to roll your eyes. Like hell you want to be friends and you you’ve been a burden since you set foot through my door.
“I’m sorry, hate you?” You huffed as you popped your hip out with a knowing look, “After what you said last night, that word doesn’t even cover it. So yeah I do. Now get the fuck out of my house.”
“Be nice.” Joel scolded with a low tone directed towards me.
“You don’t know what she—“ You tried to explain what happened last night. How small she made you feel, but Heather wouldn’t allow it.
She leaned into Joel as her panic attack rose, “I didn’t say anything I swear I didn’t. I just want to belong here. You saved me Joel, please don’t abandon me. I can’t bear the thought of being alone.”
“I won’t abandon you… You can stay here.” Joel insisted which made your blood boil.
Was he being serious right now?
“Joel.” You turned your attention to him, trying your best to keep from shouting, “Can I talk to you for a minute in private?”
Joel nodded his head before following out to the front porch.
“You can’t let her stay.” You said the moment the door shut behind you both.
“She said that she thought it over some more and she wouldn’t feel comfortable living with someone she doesn’t really know.” He sighed.
But she’s been living with us. I wanted to say, but I held my tongue.
“Please just trust me.” You grabbed his arm with a pleading look on your face, “I’m being serious right now Joel. You don’t know her that well. Hell, none of us do. I swear she’s been acting strange the moment you brought her here. First my room, then breakfast and taking over my tasks, trying to cut your hair. Not to mention the fact that she said that I—”
You could see the way his face came to a conclusion of something and you had hoped that maybe then he was realizing what you had been seeing since day one, but of course… You were wrong.
“You’re jealous.” He stated simply.
“What?” You shook your head at the audacity of this man, “No, I’m not.”
He pulled his arm from your grip, “Yes. Yes you are. That’s why you’ve been acting like she has some kind of vendetta against you. She told me you were jealous and that’s why you have been mean to her, but I didn’t think you would go this far to push her out of our lives after the horror she’s experienced.”
You felt a strong punch to your gut as you listened to him speak. The way he spoke about her as if your feelings meant nothing to him made you want to scream.
“She’s the nicest person in this town and has been nothing, but kind to you and Ellie. She’s scared and you’re only making it worse for her to settle in here.” He finished with a sigh.
She doesn’t know us. You don’t understand. Why won’t you listen? You thought angrily.
“Are you being serious right now?” You glared at him, “You’re… You’re defending her over me?”
“I’m not defending no one. I’m saying that you’re taking this too far.” He ran a hand through his unruly hair with a huff, “You need to put your feelings aside for me and realize that she just wants to feel at home somewhere. After what she’s been through, she needs comfort and we can give that to her.”
Angry tears formed in your eyes, but you held them back. You couldn’t believe what Joel was saying and it hurt how much he wasn’t listening to you.
“Fuck you and fuck her comfort! I don’t feel comfortable! Right now. Right here. Hell, this past week I have felt anything but comfort. I feel unwelcome in my own home Joel.” You cried out.
“Don’t do this firefly. You need to start letting people in. That’s what you told me when we first met remember?” He placed a hand on your shoulder, “Who knows… Maybe it’s best that she stays. The three of you can help each other feel at home here.”
“Her help us? We’ve been just fine on our own, thank you. The three of us! No more and no less!” You shoved him which barely made him move.
He remained silent as he let you rant, his hand falling back to his side.
“I don’t want her here. I want her gone Joel.” You stated firmly, “Ellie doesn’t want her here either.”
Joel sigh as he crossed his arms, “Heather told me about the things you said to her last night. The horrible things you said to her and the threats you made.” Joel said suddenly with a disapproving tone to his voice, “I thought you were better than that especially after what you went through. I thought you of all people would make someone feel welcomed.”
You felt small under his gaze as you tried to explain yourself, “Of course I would try to make everyone feel welcome and I did Joel. I did try, but she…” Your brows furrowed, “I didn’t say anything to her last night…” Your eyes widened at the realization of what she was doing. She was pitting Joel against you with lies and it was working… Again.
That final thought made you snap as you stepped away from Joel.
“That bitch.” You seethed as you rushed into the house.
“What are you doing? Wait! Don’t!” Joel yelled from behind you, but you were on a mission.
You bounded up the steps, much faster than Joel could as you raced to your room. You had a feeling that she was gloating with her new success in making Joel turn against you. Of course she did, she was downright evil. The door banged against the wall as you shoved it open, finding her sitting at the foot of your bed.
“How dare you come into my home and try to turn him against me.” You sneered as you took quick steps towards her, “I didn’t say anything to you, it was you who has been fucking with me ever since you’ve gotten here! What is your goal here? To take over my life?”
Heather’s eyes widened as an anxious expression appeared on her face, “I have no idea what you are talking about dear—”
It was such a relief seeing her skin turn red as you finally got the chance to slap her across her smug face. Her scream did nothing to stop your anger from rising.
You swiftly grabbed the collar of her shirt before she could get up and run. You wanted to make your threat clear as you glared down at her, “You’re not welcome here.”
Her expression went from panicked to calm as she relaxed in your grip. It unnerved you as you watched her persona change so quickly.
“Oh, but I think I am.” Heather whispered with a smirk, “And soon nobody here will feel safe. Not even your precious Ellie.”
That hit a nerve in you at the mention of Ellie’s name.
“Fuck you.” You spat in her face as you lunged yourself on top of her.
You pinned her down to the bed as she gasped for breath. Your hands wrapped around her throat and she desperately tried to claw at your hands, but nothing nudged you.
The only thing that you could feel was a motherly rage at the mention of Ellie not being safe. You would burn this entire town down before letting that happen.
Die. Die. Die. Die.
It was a blink of an eye before you were roughly pulled off of her and thrown into your old dresser. The dresser shook and a picture frame of you, Joel, and Ellie toppled to the ground with a sickening crack. You gasped at the impact as pain rippled through your side and you had a feeling that it would be bruised in the morning.
“The fuck is wrong with you?” Joel raised his voice, directing his anger towards you.
“You don’t understand!” You yelled at him as you gripped onto the dresser to keep yourself from falling to the floor, “Can you not see it or are you too blinded by the helpless victim act?”
“I think you should leave tonight.” Joel stated, his eyes flickered to you leaning into the dresser, but said nothing of it. He wasn’t aware of how much strength he used when he pulled you off of Heather. The only thing currently running through his head was not seeing anyone die tonight.
“What? Leave?” You looked up at him confused, “Did you not hear a word I just said? She is using you!”
Joel sighed, “What could she possibly be using me for? I have nothing to offer.” He shook his head, “I think it’s best you leave and clear your head. Maybe when you get some space you will see that she is not a threat.”
You looked at the woman who cowered on the bed, out of view from Joel, but not from you. You could see the victory in her eyes as she watched Joel protect her and not you.
You looked back to Joel with an empty feeling in your chest, “I want you to remember this moment when you realize I’m right, Miller. Goodbye.”
You swiftly stepped out of the room, ignoring the throbbing pain in your side. You saw Ellie peer out from her room with a concerned and scared expression on her face.
“What… What’s going on?” She asked with a timid voice, “Are you leaving? You’re leaving me?”
You shook your head as tears filled your eyes and quickly pulled her into a hug despite the pain you were feeling, “No of course I’m not leaving. I’m just going to stay with Tommy and Maria tonight, but listen…” You looked back and saw that neither of them had followed you out of the room.
You looked back towards Ellie and whispered in her ear, “Heather is dangerous. I don’t know what she has planned or why yet, but I need you to keep your knife close and keep an eye on Joel l until I figure it out okay?”
“Okay.” Ellie nodded, “I will, I promise.” Her eyes suddenly looked past your shoulder to Joel who was walking out of your room.
“I love you, my daughter.” You kissed her on the top of her head before quickly making your way downstairs, “See you later bug.”
“Love you too mom… See you later…” You heard her broken voice say as you walked out the front door.
I will end you, Heather. I will fucking end you.

Even In the Dark
Pairing: Cassian x You (Y/N but no Y/N use! Uses she/her pronouns) Summary: Cassian comes home to a mate in pain, and does everything he can to help. Rating: Teen Word Count: 3.7k Warnings: Hurt/Comfort, heavy emphasis on the comfort for those of you who have been burned by me one too many times, mild sexual content and discussions (I think that covers it but as usual, if I have forgotten anything please let me know!) A/N: Happy Cassian Appreciation Week! @cassianappreciationweek Shoutout to @tsunami-of-tears for the lovely Illyrian wing dividers. Enjoy!
Something was amiss in his home. Cassian noticed it the second he opened the door, stomping and wiping his boots on the doormat before stepping inside.
Your boots were there, dry and untouched, exactly as they had been this morning. As the day was coming to a close much like its stormy beginning, it surprised him to see the umbrellas showed no sign of use.
There was silence. Cassian’s brows furrowed. You spent rainy days singing. You liked storms, would dance and sing in the rain when it wasn’t too cold (and even, on occasion, when it was).
He bent to untie his boots, nearly ripping at the laces in an increasing worry. If he wouldn’t have been worried about dirtying the floors, he would have forgone the step all together. He worked in the darkness, his last clue that all was not as it should be.
No candlelight flickered against the wall. No scent of vanilla, or cinnamon, or mahogany swirled about him. Mahogany. The scent you had proclaimed was your favorite because it reminded you of him.
You saved it for days like this, days when you would be inside more than you liked. You told him it meant none of its light or scent would be wasted. That you would be able to sit in a reminder of him all day.
“I’ll buy you a hundred. Light them every day,” he had told you earnestly.
You had laughed. “Once I finish all the rest that you’ve bought me, I’ll let you buy me as many as you wish.”
He hadn’t argued. You had a rather impressive collection spread throughout the home you shared. It would be a shame to let it go to waste.
Boots finally off, he placed them next to yours, the appearance of his large muddy boots striking against the considerably smaller, clean pair beside them.
He walked down the hallway, peering into room after room, but knowing somehow that he would not find you on this level, in the kitchen, or the dining room; the living room or the office, no matter how much he hoped he would. When there was no sign of you, he wound slowly up the stairs at the end of the hall.
There. The bedroom door was shut. It solidified his concern. No light crept from beneath the door; no sound of your movement reached his ears. He ignored the open doorways to other rooms and strode quickly to enter yours.
Darkness met him. The room was as dark as it could be, given that the little light the storm might have allowed to filter through the window was blocked entirely by the heavy outer curtains.
On good days, those stayed open. The typical curtains before the window were a light gauzy material through which sunlight could flow. On the bad days, Cassian knew, the heavy curtains would close with a flick of your hand. They were a wall of thick fabrics to keep light and sound from your presence.
The tonics you took daily helped keep the episodes at bay, but not always. He stepped inside quickly and as quietly as his body would allow.
“My love,” he whispered. You gave no answer. He prayed you were asleep. It was often the only respite you had on days like this.
But that was too much to ask of the Mother, apparently. As he waited, a broken sob wrenched from your body followed by a whimper of pain. Whether it was from the movement the sob required or the sound itself, he didn’t know.
That was enough. He crossed to you slowly, trying to keep his footsteps from making any noise. The faint light of the bioluminescent clock hands reflected in the bottles beside your bed. It was the only light you allowed, its presence necessary to keep track of the hourly doses of pain relief you could take. He counted those bottles quickly, bit back a snarl of anger, then swore at what he found.
Six empty bottles. Six full bottles sat beside them. His anger wasn’t at you. The amount of pain you were in scared him. Twelve doses of tonic were all the healers would allow you to keep on your own. For mild episodes, one to three bottles sufficed. Six was pushing it. If this episode lasted beyond eight doses, Cassian would have no choice but to summon the healers for more help.
Your breath trembled from your lungs, shuddering on the shallow inhale and measured, calculated on the exhale. Nausea. He would bet anything you were trying to temper it with as steady breathing as you could manage. That was one symptom the tonics could never address, as you were allergic to the one herb that wouldn’t interact with the ingredients for pain relief you so desperately needed.
A faint rustle from the bed drew his attention. Your hand, extended to him. A request.
He placed his hand gently over yours, palm down so you could fingerspell your request into his hand. You had learned together, needing a way to communicate when you were in too much agony to speak.
H-E-A-L-E-R, you spelled slowly. He stiffened, his eyebrows raising. You had half the doses left. A quick request, ‘Lie w me’, followed. You never asked for him to send for the healer. Not until you had finished every single tonic.
Cassian waited until you withdrew your hand, tucking it back under your pillow to support your head. Quietly, he stood to fulfill your needs, walking around the bed before disrobing to his underwear. His clothes were cold. It would not help you, and he should let his skin warm a tad before joining you. But first - Cassian reached out in his mind to his brother.
Rhys.
Yes?
She needs help. She asked, this time.
It's that bad?
Yes.
I'll send them. Let me know if there is anything we can do.
I will. Thank you.
Of course. Good luck, Cassian.
No response would come until help arrived, one of three healers he, Nesta, and Feyre had vetted and assigned specifically to help you through these episodes when they had become more frequent a few years ago. The healers kept keys to your home so they could come and go as needed without making any more noise than was required. One of them was always on call.
Climbing into bed was always the hardest part. He had a choice. Do it quickly, and your pain could be sharp but brief. Do it slowly, and he may drag out your agony.
You had told him once after an episode that the shifting of the mattress beneath you caused your head to splinter into pieces. He had said he would sleep on the couch, a chair by your side, even the floor if it would keep you from pain. You had shaken your head.
“What I need most in those moments is you beside me. The warmth of your body in the blankets is soothing. Hearing the steadiness of your breathing gives me something to cling to, a standard I can use to measure my own breathing; to measure the passage of time without having to open my eyes.”
But he would not touch you. Not unless you asked. That was your one request, that he lay there, close enough for you to hear, but never to touch you unless you specifically requested it.
“My body often feels as if it’s on fire,” you responded when he asked about the experience after the first time he witnessed it. “It’s agonizing. My head feels as if it’s being wrenched in two or more pieces, my skin is aflame. My stomach roils, and I cannot seem to breathe without complete concentration.”
“And with me beside you?” He had asked.
You had managed to squeak out the request that first time, though it led to you throwing up beside the bed not two minutes later. He had cleaned it up, and then joined you, lying as far from you as possible as you choked out the need to have him there, but away.
“It centers me. Gives me something to focus on other than the pain.”
“But if you feel like you’re on fire, wouldn’t a cold compress help? Some ice, perhaps?”
You had sighed. “In my experience, it only causes a different sort of pain. I know for some it helps. In my case, I find it forces my body to fight harder against the sensation and drains me more quickly. I wish it did, but it never seems to help as much as it hurts.”
That first episode he had witnessed had terrified him. He had spent the night with you in his room at the townhouse, the both of you tangled in each other for hours before sleep caught up to you both. He was in heaven. But as he woke, he had been thrust into his own personal hell.
He hadn’t realized how much he loved you until he saw you with sweat beading at your forehead as your whimpers woke him. The panic that filled him immediately flowed in perfect synchronicity with the knowledge that he would do anything to help you.
The light flowed freely through his windows. The sounds of the city filtered in freely. He had curtains, but they were not designed for the kind of darkness you needed. They quenched no sound. It was not enough.
And you lay there, crying, as he sat up. He remembered it with horror now. He could recall it all, including all the things he had unknowingly done wrong.
“What’s wrong?” He had asked. You had whimpered, tensing. He sat up entirely, reaching to stroke your arm. You had only cried harder, tears streaming from between your tightly closed eyelids.
He had sat up quickly to analyze you better. He had kept asking you questions at full volume. He remembered how he hadn’t thought to block the light with his wing. How he had tried to reach for you, leading to your agonized words begging him not to, pleading with him to get a healer. He had jumped from the bed to do so, hearing your retching from behind him a minute or so after. He had spun back to you, but you waved him off, tearful eyes pleading him to do as you had asked.
So much had gone wrong that time.
He was fortunate he knew about your allergy, glad you had mentioned it offhand at dinner three weeks previous. It had only been your third date, but it had come up somehow. Had he not known, you could have died from the tonic the healer brought for you. In the end, Rhys was summoned in the early afternoon to push you into unconsciousness and put you out of your misery. Nothing else had helped. You slept for over a full day, not waking for anything.
He had kept vigil over you in his bed, not knowing how to help. Rhys had come and gone, checking in and bringing food and water for both of you, though your tray was exactly the same on the way out the door as it had come in.
You had awoken at dusk the next day. You had stretched with a groan which startled Cassian from his fitful dozing.
“My love,” he had whispered incoherently.
You blinked with a little yawn as you looked over at him. It took you a minute to orient yourself and frown.
“Cassian.”
“Sweetheart,” he said in response, eyes filling with tears at the ease with which you spoke his name. “Are you okay?”
You nodded. “I am,” your nod turned into a shake of your head. “I am so sorry.” He tracked each movement, but no wince or whimper followed. There was no visible indication of pain.
He was so lost in looking for any sign of your discomfort that it took him a few moments to respond. “Don’t be sorry. Are you certain you’re alright?”
“Yes,” you gave him a shaky smile. He wanted to crush you in his arms but had learned through your words and your pained cries that any contact would hurt, so instead he gripped the arms of his chair.
While you didn’t look as though you were in pain, embarrassment was written all over your face. Still, discussion needed to wait. He got you food and water, and a fresh shirt of his to change into.
Once he had taken your empty tray away, he looked inquisitively at where you sat propped up in his bed. “What happened?” He asked quietly.
You had indulged his question. Some things you knew could trigger the episodes, so you avoided them. Bright lights or loud noises for long periods of time. Sleep deprivation. Cassian had held in a flinch at that, knowing he had kept you up until nearly three in the morning.
Stress, built up over a period of time, was the most common instigator. He recalled your words from dinner the night before, about the hard deadline you were facing for an investigation into a trading company that had seemingly been avoiding tariffs. He had reached for your hand unthinkingly when it had clenched on the bedspread beside you, unable to withhold the only comfort he had to offer.
You had sighed and gripped his hand gratefully. “Can I hold you?” He had asked, stroking his thumb slowly from your wrist to your knuckles. Your nod was the only assent he needed before scooping you gently up from the bed and climbing in, settling you in his lap with your head tucked under his chin.
“I’m sorry for causing you trouble,” you whispered, tracing a hand lightly across his chest.
“It was no trouble.”
“I took away half your weekend. You had plans.”
“They weren’t anywhere near as important as this. I rescheduled.”
“Still -“
“No, my love,” he shook his head, the endearment slipping from his lips without thinking. He hadn’t notice you tense up at the words, and continued, “You needed help. I wasn’t leaving you.”
“Cassian,” his name fell like a breath from your lips.
“Hmm?” Now he noticed. You sat still as possible in his lap. Your hand had stopped its gentle tracing. He dipped his head to look at you, but you didn’t meet his gaze.
“You called me ‘my love’.”
“If it upsets you, I am sorry. But it is the truth.” A flush settled across your cheeks, and he continued, “I love you. Your pain felt like it was a part of me. I began to love you weeks ago, and I knew this morning... I love you.” His words were cut short by the quick raise of your head and the settling of your fingers over his lips. Your cheeks flushed, lower lip rolled between your teeth.
“I love you,” you said quietly. “Very much.”
He laughed softly at that, loosely grabbing your wrist to press kisses against it. “Well. Thank the cauldron for that.”
It was your turn to laugh, and you wiggled to face him. The darkness had truly fallen, stars glimmering through the still uncovered windows.
Cassian lay beside his love, watching the pained breaths, the occasional twitch of spasming muscles causing the quilt to shift.
The door opened slowly, letting the tiniest sliver of light in as a short male stepped into the room. Mirvyn, the head healer on your team. The light glimmered against his glasses before he shut the door again. He moved silently with the practiced footsteps of a cautious male.
Cassian knew the healer recognized his presence. They didn’t acknowledge each other in the darkness. Your hand reached for Cassian’s, gripping it until your nails bit into his skin.
The healer began to work, administering a more potent treatment that could be injected into your arm. You hated it, every second, but it was the only thing that seemed to help you.
You had lay like this for hours. Cassian knew the pain you must be in to have asked for the healer when you had taken only six vials of tonic. When you didn’t respond to the prick of the needle in your shoulder, he knew getting the healer been the right call.
You were asleep within minutes. The healer began to check you, your breathing, your heart, anything he could learn from your pain signatures. He sighed.
Just like every other time, Cassian knew. Nothing to be done. That was the most frustrating piece. Aside from avoiding the things which could trigger the episodes and taking your daily tonics, there was nothing you could do. None of the healers could find a single thing wrong with your body, even as you fell to pieces from the pain.
The healer walked around to Cassian’s side of the bed and bent to whisper, “I'll return in an hour to check on her, then stay in the guest room if you need me for anything else."
Cassian whispered his thanks in return. All they could do was wait. A silent vigil for the love of his life to return to comfort in her own body. A silent sorrow for the pain she must feel.
It was his greatest sorrow, that he couldn't share the pain. He didn't even know its extent. You were not his mate. You were beloved, but he could not understand or protect you. Hours, you would lay, knowing you could call for help. Struggling to decide whether it was bad enough.
A little over six hours, and a healer. Today was bad. He would wait.
Cassian quietly asked the healer to sit with you for a little bit when he returned. He went downstairs, made two sandwiches, and ate one as quickly as possible. You had told him once that him not taking care of himself did you no favors. He had promised he would not neglect himself, so he ate. He did it quickly, because he would not leave you longer than he had to.
The other sandwich he left on the counter with an empty glass. This healer liked the sandwiches, and he knew where you stored all your drinks. He could help himself.
He filled a large pitcher of water and walked up the stairs once more with the pitcher and two glasses. If you got thirsty, there would be water for you. It was the one thing he could do that he felt in control of. He didn't like how insignificant it felt. Still, you told him waking up and seeing a pitcher of water there, the one thing you usually forgot, always made you feel cared for.
Mirvyn had heard Cassian coming, and met him right outside the bedroom door.
"She's still asleep. Her vitals are steady, but for her to have called, I am concerned. Be careful. Sleep. The spell will let you know if anything is truly amiss, but if you sense anything out of the ordinary, come get me," the healer cautioned. "Often your senses will kick in before the spell will recognize it as an issue."
Cassian nodded. "I know. Can you tell how this compares to her last bad episode?"
The healer sighed, pulling his glasses off to clean them before replacing them on the bridge of his nose. "Cassian, it's about the same this time. I'm still surprised she hadn't passed out already, but by my measurements it's about the same."
"She seemed..." Cassian shook his head with a grimace. "It seemed even worse. She's everything to me, Mirvyn. If anything happens to her..."
"I know. We all know. Take care of yourself, Cassian. If either of you need anything, I'll be down the hall."
"Thank you."
"You're welcome."
Sleep. He would sleep, and more importantly, you would sleep. In the morning, you would be alright. He had to believe it.
Cassian woke first, approximately twelve hours later. It was unsurprising. He woke before you on the good days, too. So he waited, his hand in the space between you in case you decided in your sleep that you wished to hold it. You would wake soon enough, if you felt better. Cassian wouldn't let himself think of the alternative.
"Cassian," you whispered.
"My love," he greeted you quietly.
"May I have some water?"
He smiled. "Of course."
You sat up while he retrieved your glass, filling it with careful precision in the darkness.
"Here."
You gulped it down before handing your glass back to him. "Thank you."
He nodded, replacing the glass and the pitcher. "How do you feel?"
"Well enough," you sighed. "A bit of a residual headache."
"That's good," he smiled.
"Yeah. Hold me?" You asked. After the first time, you always asked.
"Of course. Always." He climbed into bed beside you, scooping you into his arms as he sat against the headboard. Once you had sat up, you often didn't want to lay down again. Changing from laying to sitting to laying again so quickly had seemed to do odd things, and now you avoided it at all costs.
"Thank you," you whispered, settling your head against his chest.
"You're welcome."
"I love you, Cassian."
"I love you, too," he hummed. "Mirvyn is here."
"I know. I remember him coming in last night."
"Remember anything else?"
"Other than you coming home, not really. Everything else is blurry."
"That's alright," he pressed a kiss to the top of your head. "That's everything important."
You laughed. "Oh? the important things, you coming home, and Mirvyn showing up?"
"Yeah," Cassian couldn't help but laugh.
"I heard that swear, you know. When you saw the tonic bottles."
"I was worried," he protested. "I'm always worried when you're sick."
"And? Foul language," you teased in return. "Ghastly, nasty language. You kiss me with that mouth, you know."
"And you love the things this mouth does," he teased in return. You were happy. You were fine.
You hummed your acknowledgement, pressing a kiss to his jaw. "I do. I love the male its attached to more, though."
Soon, you were both quietly laughing, intermittently interrupting each other for gentle kisses. It was the best ending for what had been unbearable just hours before. This was Cassian's favorite. The calm between the storms, when you were yourself, in his arms.
You deserved this every morning, every day. This peace. This lightness of heart. In the meantime, he would love you, even in the dark.
A/N: I am by no means a definitive authority on migraines or chronic illness. I do, however, suffer from migraines. This is based largely on my own experience, though I've never had the benefit of a Cassian in my life and frankly, even if I did, the last thing I might want is someone anywhere near me.
All that aside, I wanted to explore what Cassian the Lover might feel when his beloved was in pain. And what better way to do that than with an indulgent fic?
Additionally, I felt it was important to acknowledge that it takes a village. Sometimes, the best thing your person can do for you is to be there and help you ask for help. I may not have a Cassian in my life, but I have many a Mirvyn, and many incredibly supportive people. I am very, very grateful for every single one of them.
I hope you enjoyed the fic, and that you enjoy the rest of your lovely Cassian week! Don't forget to give cassianappreciationweek and maased-out a follow so you can stay up to date with future fandom events for your writing and reading pleasure!
All my love,

Choi Jongho - ATEEZ
Rating: M (18+) MDNI
Word Count: ~6.9k 🫢 (over 2k of it is smut btw)
Pairing: Bear-Hybrid!Jongho x Fox-Hybrid!AFAB!Reader
Genre: Hybrid AU!, Historical/Period, Reader-Insert, Fluff, Smut, Some Plot, Strangers-to-Friends-to-Lovers
!!This is smut…if that much isn't clear you should probably leave now!! MDNI!
Warnings: She/Her Pronouns used, Pet Names (Sweetheart, Sunshine, Precious, etc.), Swearing, Kissing, Hickeys/Marking, Heat/Rut, Pheromones, Oral (M! Receiving), Deepthroating/Face-Fucking, Big Dick! Jongho (of course), Size Differences, Size Kink, Praise Kink, Cockbulge, Over-Stimulation, Unprotected Sex (This is pre-birth control so…)
Trigger Warning: There is mentions of guns in this, but its just a revolver and the reader shoots it once at a target. That's it.
Author's Note: This is NOT Omegaverse, but there is a mention of Jongho being an 'alpha'. They have animals ears and tails. Jongho is bigger here than he is in real life, probably about 6'5"/196 cm, since he's a bear hybrid. This is set in about Wild West times, so around 1830s, but it's not a Western themed story.
I will be doing all the members and uploading them as I go. I normally like to upload a whole series at a time but I'm trying to pack to move.

I am cross-posting this on Archive. Please reblog! Share, even if its to the other sites! Let me know if you want to be on the taglist!
When your stomach groans, again, you groan back.
"Shut up, I'm looking." you tell it. You get no response. Sighing deeply, you stumble a bit on a root, catching yourself with a hand on the tree trunk. You have no idea why, but for the last two days, you haven't been able to find any prey. Sniffing in distaste, you hold up an arrow, looking at the completely clean arrowhead. Letting your arm down, the arrow lays at your side. You glance down at your other slack arm; bow held in that hand. What's the point of having a weapon if there’s nothing to kill to eat with it? You wonder what full foxes do when they can’t find anything to eat. Starve? No, the probably move on to a different area. A bit harder to do that since you settled in the area nearly four months prior and have no intention of leaving. Your semi-permanent shelter ss finally finished, nice and cozy, and you love the area you’re in. Normally it’s simple to get food, just step outside your hut and shoot a hare out in the field. When you’re not able to see anything, you instead go deeper into the woods that your home lies at the edge of. But there’s even less there, if it’s possible. You’re getting closer to the river, but you aren’t very good at fishing. Hitting a rabbit or squirrel with an arrow is actually much easier than a fish. Might have to try though, since you’ve run out of food completely the day prior. It’s late fall, getting closer to winter, and so there isn’t really anything to forage for either. Everything has been eaten by deer or other animals. Since you’re hungry, so hungry, your steps are uneven and clumsy.
"Fuck!" Your long tail catches on the thorns of some bush, knocking you down to your knees. Yanking the appendage to free it, you yipe, looking back at the branches to see a tuft of rusty orange fur left behind. Running your hands over your tail, the spot isn’t noticeable, but it stings. Scratching the back of your ear at the top of your head, you get back up, continuing toward the water. You can hear the river water rushing over some rocks, most likely a short waterfall. Before you can even see the river though, you see a building to your left. Getting closer, it’s a fairly large shelter, much bigger and nicer than yours. An actual cabin rather than a weird cross between a tent and a hut. It’s most likely older and whoever built it also most likely had known what they’re doing. What really catches your eye though, are the fish strung up on a line between two wooden poles. Your mouth waters, one of the giant salmon will easily feed you for a week if you cure it properly and ration it. You feel your tail wag a bit at the thought, and you eagerly stalk forward. The thought of who had caught the fish, and who the dwelling belongs to doesn’t even cross your mind, way too hungry.
"Come to mama~" You giggle and right when your long claw-like nails get close to pulling the fish off the line, someone grabs the back of your shirt. Yelping in shock, you feel your feet leave the ground, just an inch or two, your captor easily lifting you. Your legs scramble helplessly in the air as you flounder, hands going to grapple at the one holding you. The person lifts you even higher in retaliation and so you wiggle and squirm harder.
"Let me go!" you shout and that seems to work, but then you land hard on your butt.
"Ow, fuck!" You scramble to get up and to your feet, spinning to see who the heck has grabbed you. What human is stupid enough to mess with a fox hybrid- Bear. Bear hybrid, that's who. Not a human. Your ears press back and down against your skull, tail tucking between your legs, no longer snapping back and forth. The male raises an eyebrow, and you get a good look at his face. He’s gorgeous. All of him, really, not just his face. That, though, very handsome. He’s covered from the neck down in dark brown hide, the arms and collar of his jacket lined with thick fur. You don’t know if his pants are so tight from their cut or if his thighs are just that thick, and you honestly hope for the latter…Or do you? He’s thick with muscle all over. He shifts his stance, hands resting on his belt, standing over you, staring. The dominance emanating from him strikes through you, and you aren’t sure if you should feel scared or aroused. You have met bear hybrids before, that's not what’s doing it, it’s something from him. It makes you wonder…
"A-are you an alpha or something?" you boldly ask. There are some predator hybrids that seem to be more in touch with their animal nature than others, and he sure seems like one of them.
"I'm not a canine." He speaks down to you, literally, he’s fucking massive. The top of your head barely reaches his chin.
"I-I know…"
"Only canines have alphas."
"Then what are you?" He scoffs at your brazen question.
"Why should I answer, vixen, when you came here to steal my food?" He starts to walk toward you, so you pounce to the side, turning to keep your face toward him. You watch his hands go to the hook holding the salmon, taking it down off the line. Your tail whips once, nervously, and you hope he can’t hear your heart pounding. You aren’t sure how you feel about him, how to feel about how much bigger he’s than you, stronger. He smells so fucking good too-
"I-I'm hungry, okay?! I haven't had any meat in two days!" You try to defend yourself, your voice cracking pitifully.
"You say that like you don't normally steal." His sneer is evident in his tone, and you scoff hard.
"I don't!"
"You're a fox, right?"
"Not all foxes steal! You big…brute!" He doesn’t respond, just walks around the pole holding one end of the line, toward the front of his cabin.
"H-hey!" You know you should have taken the chance to flee, that would’ve been smart, but instead you trail after him. Those fish look too good, and you notice he’s easily carrying the string of five over his shoulder. His big boots thump across the hard, cold ground, your much lighter feet barely making a sound. When you catch up to him, coming around the cabin, he’s laying the fish down on a wooden table it looks like he might have made himself.
"D-do you cook them?" Your mouth waters. You prefer your meat cooked, that’s probably the human part of you, but the fox part of you can eat raw if necessary.
"I-if…If I do something for you in return, can I have a fish?" you ask, stepping forward carefully, tail snapping behind you. You’re pointing at the one you had been reaching for, which is the smallest one.
"What could you do for me, vixen?" He’s standing back up again, hands on his belt. Why does he have to just stand like that? There’s no need. Does he just stand like that normally? His question registers then, and your brain kicks into gear trying to think of an answer. You’ve offered help, but that doesn’t mean you know what kind of help. That’s his part of the exchange.
"What do you want me to do…he-bear?" For the life of you, you can’t think then of what a male bear is called. He huffs at your attempt to match his confidence. Your eyes flit to his chest, shirt struggling and stretching over his chest just from him breathing.
"Jongho."
"What?"
"My name. Please don’t ever call me 'he-bear' again."
"Oh…Jongho. Uh, I'm (Y/N)."
"Can you climb?"
"Climb?"
"Can you climb a tree?"
"Oh, yes." Your eyes follow his thumb when he jabs it toward his left. You glance around him toward where he’s pointing, an apple tree. It’s huge, you wonder how long it’s been there.
"Go get as many as you can." He picks up a basket from under the table, easily chucking it toward you. You manage to catch it, maybe fumble with it a bit, and head over to the tree. Maybe you can grab a couple of them…
"Where did you get an apple tree?" You call behind you as you approach it, "aren't they normally in human areas?"
"I sell to humans."
"Sell? Sell what?" You wrap your tail through the handle of the basket, curling it up to hold it up as you climb up the tree. He’s probably tall enough to get at the apples himself, but it’ll be easier to get them climbing.
"Furs. Wood and metal work." You sit on a branch, putting a narrow branch through the handle of the basket to hold it for you as you pluck a red fruit off a twig. It smells so good, but he’d notice if you take a bite. Dropping it into the basket, you continue, noticing which ones aren’t quite ripe yet.
"Metal work?" You peer through the branches of the apple tree, noticing a side building right next to his cabin, a blacksmithing forge inside.
"Wait, you've worked with full humans?"
"Yes."
"Have you seen those little guns they carry? That don't need powder and a ball?" You have picked about ten apples by then, balancing on the branch to try and reach an eleventh. He doesn’t respond, so you glance past the leaves to where he’s at the table, and he goes to a pouch on his belt. He opens it, pulling out a revolver.
"Woah!" You beam in awe, not paying attention to where you’re crawling on the branch. You yelp as it bows under your weight, making you lose your balance. You close your eyes, ready to fall. It isn’t too far, you won’t die, but it sure will hurt.
"Oof!" You do land on something hard, just not the ground. The wind gets knocked out of you as you fall face down onto Jongho, middle on his shoulder. While you catch your breath, coughing a few times, he unlatches the basket and carries both you and it back over to the table. The basket is set on the end of the table, and he then lets you down to sit on the other end. Even up on the surface, you have to tilt your head to look him in the eye. You rub your sore middle, though it’s much less painful that it would’ve been to bellyflop onto the ground. The bear notices your eyes flit to the little gun still on the table, and he sighs. Grabbing it, he pops the rotating barrel out, shaking the little bullets out, then hands you the unloaded gun. Taking it carefully with both hands, you’re surprised at its weight. It’s heavy for its size, but much lighter than a musket. He continues to work on the fish, cleaning them or something, eyeing you as you curiously look at the revolver.
"Man, this would be so much easier to hunt with."
"It's different than aiming a bow." He scoffs, swiping the weapon back from you, reloading it.
"Show me?"
"You're awful demanding." Jongho scolds, holstering the gun back to his belt. You sniff in disappointment, swinging your legs a bit from where you sit up on the table, watching him work.
"If I feed you, will you leave me be?" he asks after a few minutes of silence.
"No." You like to be honest. He sighs, putting his thin knife down.
"I'll leave you be if you show me how to shoot it."
"Why does it matter if you don't have one yourself?" You shrug in response. He can’t decide if you’re annoying or endearing. He stands up straight, stepping closer to you, so he’s standing right before you. Your ears droop a bit, tail lying flat from where it had been thumping on the wood softly. He’s so freaking big. You feel a familiar twinge in your tummy, and your thighs clench. His eyebrow raises, nostrils flaring slightly and your eyes widen in panic. Can he smell your arousal? So easily? The bear sighs deeply then, "Come here." He takes the gun back out and you hop off the table to follow him as he heads around a big tree. When you come around as well, you see that there’s a circle carved into another tree a bit in distance.
"Hold it up, arm straight out, level it. Then, line this little piece up with where you want to shoot." His thumb flicks at the sight piece.
"Pull the hammer back with your thumb, then press the trigger with your index finger. You'll have to press harder than you think." He snaps the barrel back out, rotating it to check the rounds, then snaps it back shut, handing it to you. You follow his instructions, keenly aware of him at your back. You stand much the same way you do for archery, but he corrects you. He brings his hand to your bicep, bringing it up so you grip the gun with both hands instead. To compensate, you turn your body a bit more toward the target. You click the hammer back, that takes more strength than you thought it would too, and wrap your finger around the trigger. Breathing in, steadying your aim, you line the sight up. As you breathe out, you press hard like he coached, and the gun goes off. It’s so much louder than you expected, your ears flattening to your skull, body recoiling along with the weapon. You stumble back into his solid chest, ears ringing painfully. You narrow your vision toward the target. You didn’t get a bullseye, but you do at least hit inside the target circle. That feat pulls your body out of shock from the loud bang, and you beam, cheering.
"I did it!" You jump in excitement, and he quickly takes the still smoking gun from you. He holsters it once more and can’t help but let out a small huff of laughter as you cheer for yourself. Endearing, he decides, cute even.
~θωθ~
"D-do I rotate it?" You look over at him, sitting on a log bench by the fire pit. He’s cleaned, filleted and skewered the salmon, letting the pieces roast by the fire. Jongho had set them in the dirt, skin facing the flames more, tilted toward the heat.
"It's fine." He’s brings the basket of apples over and you watch him roll one in his hand. His eyes flicks to your face, wanting to see your reaction, as he grips the fruit with both hands, splitting it perfectly in half with ease.
"Woah!" Your face lights up and he can’t hold back a smug grin. Holding the two halves easily in one hand, he hold it out for you, and you spring to your feet from your own log bench. Skipping over, you take the two halves from him, the scent making your mouth water. Sinking your teeth into the flesh, you groan in delight. You haven't had the pleasure of eating an apple before. Crab apples, yes…but those are absolutely horrible. The bear can tell you were honest about being so hungry with how fast you devour the fruit. When you’re left with the two pieces of the core, you hiccup. Your face grows more and more displeased with each hiccup, growing annoyed with the process.
"Geez." You breathe hard, trying to control your throat, but you hiccup again, a slight pain blossoming in your chest.
"Fucking hell." You swear softly, then let out another hiccup.
"Geez!" You groan, then your tummy rumbles, and a gas bubble erupts. You keep your mouth closed to muffle the noise, minding your manners, and the seizes stop.
"Thank goodness." You sigh and Jongho can’t help but chuckle. So cute. He’s a little upset with how cute you’re growing to him.
"What?" You whine a bit, feeling self-conscious.
"You're cute, vixen." Your tail snaps in embarrassment.
"I have a name." You correct coyly, not able to look at him, face warming. You almost add on 'he-bear', but he’d said please…
"(Y/N), you're cute." He fixes his compliment, and you sniff, secretly pleased.
"And?"
"And what?" You aren’t sure what you’re expecting, honestly.
"Uh…"
"Whatever, sweetheart." The little pet-name isn’t condescending or patronizing, and your entire body freezes.
"D-don't." you whisper, and he raises a brow in question, looking up from a second apple.
"Don't?"
"D-don't call me that…"
"Why not?" The bear smirks; you can see it from your peripheral. Your cheeks are quite red by that point. You don’t answer, focusing on watching your fish cook. He let it go, chuckling softly to himself.
~^///^~
"It's hot-" He warns, but it’s too late. The hot fish stings your tongue, but you’re much too hungry to care. Waving the skewer it’s on, like that would cool it off, you blow hard on it a few times, then take another bite. You devour the fish, much like the apple, he’s surprised you eat the whole filet.
"T-Thank you." You wipe at your mouth with your forearm, handing the skewer back to him. He takes the whittled bone from you, and it seems you’re getting ready to leave, picking up your bow and quiver.
"You live nearby?"
"Oh, yeah, just a few meters that way." You wave in the general direction. The sun is setting by then, the cold setting in.
"In that half-tent?"
"It’s a hut!" You try to defend your shelter since you built it yourself. He stands then, and you wonder what he’s doing, coming toward you.
"There's a storm coming, I'll help you get your things, you can stay here tonight."
"A storm? Like snow? Already? Wait, what!?" He walks past you toward your home and you gape after him like the fish you just ate. Shaking your head to gather your senses back, you trot after him. You’re a bit out of breath by the time you get to your dwelling; you can’t even see the fire from his place.
"B-but this is where I live, I'll be okay!" You seem to be trying to convince yourself of that as well.
"Get your stuff." He jerks his head toward your hut, and you huff but do so. If there really is a snowstorm coming, you’d prefer the much sturdier and less drafty cabin he has. You’re able to gather everything except the structure itself with his help and he goes slower for you on the way back. You wonder how the heck you’ve never noticed his cabin before, but you also never go this far into the woods, let alone so close to the river. As you pass the cursed bush that tore a chunk of your fur out, you sneer down at it, wrapping your tail around your leg to keep it safe. You hear him huff out a laugh, and you glare at his rounded black ears, one of them flicking slightly. At first, you were a bit ruffled by his suggestion, but you’re growing grateful as some snowflakes start to fall. Plus, ultimately, he is being kind. You thought he was going to set you up in his smithing lean-to, or maybe even just under the shelter of the roof over his porch. But he opens the door to his cabin, bringing your stuff with him. The bear looks over his shoulder at you, waiting for you to follow. Once inside, you look around. To your left is a table with a water jug and basin and to the right a large cedar chest. There’s a sitting area with an actual couch and a fireplace. Right across from the door on the other end of the one-room cabin is the bed, big and with a mattress. It must really pay to trade with humans… You watch him set your belongings against the wall near the bed and you notice a little side room.
"You have an attached outhouse?!" You gape at the luxury, and he hums. Not really an outhouse if it’s attached, but… You set your stuff you carried next to his load and look around his home more. The couch looks comfy, but you have little perspective, never having the luxury of sitting on one. It does beat sleeping on a bedroll, you assume, and you’re a bit worried that you won’t want to go back.
"I take up a lot of the bed, but you're tiny." His comment throws you out of your thoughts, nearly giving yourself whiplash with how hard you turn to look at him.
"W-what?"
"It's going to get really cold, even with the fire on. It'll be warmer." He states and you realize he’s right. Still, your insides flop at the thought. It’s hard enough being around him, and how good he smells, let alone in a room that smells mostly of him. Can you really handle sleeping next to him…just sleeping? You swallow, you aren’t due for a heat for a while, but he’s extremely attractive. The fact that he’s a bear should lessen your desire, but no. The unfamiliar, the new experience, the size difference…
"What are you thinking about, sunshine?" Jongho walks past you to shut the door, pulling out a small box. Matches. You’ve never seen them at work before, so you step closer, watching him scratch the little red end of the wood piece on the side of the box, flame erupting out of thin air. He lights the oil lamps he has on the wall, casting a soft warm glow around the room, seemingly right as the sun sets beyond the horizon. You don’t make a comment on the little pet-name, though it isn’t much easier to process than 'sweetheart'.
"C-can't you just use my name?" You sniff, moving around him to sit on the couch. The leather-covered cushion sinks under your butt, and you let out a silent 'wow' at the plush feeling. The bear chuckles, moving around to join you on the couch. You scoot over to allow him room, he takes up much more space than you. He rests back, arm slung to the side over the back, right behind you. His feet are firmly planted on the floor, knees wide, and he sits on the couch likes he’s a king on his throne. The confident dominance wafts over you again and your core pulses. Biting your lip, you look away from him quickly, and Jongho smirks at your sudden rigid posture. He watches the tip of your tail as the end thumps lightly on the cushion. You squeak when he carefully runs his fingers over the orange fur, right where you had a tuft ripped out.
"What happened?"
"You can notice it?" You whine, looking at the spot, trying to ignore that he’s still touching your tail. His eyes flit to your ear as it flicks in annoyance.
"It got snagged on some thorns earlier."
"Does it hurt?"
"Stings a bit…" You flinch when a sudden gust of wind rattles the door and shutters on the window. Your ears twitch when a distant rumbling travels through the air.
"Thunder?" You could have sworn that's what you heard, but that would be weird. When it happens again though, it’s confirmed.
"It can thunder in a snowstorm?" You wonder aloud and the bear hums, fingers once again stroking over the fur of your tail. Goosebumps rise on your skin, the fur raising a bit along with it.
"I'm gonna use the outhouse!" You stand up quickly, pulling your tail out from under his hand and curling it toward yourself. As you do so, you can smell your own arousal, and hope that since your pants will be back up, he won’t be able to as well. Going back into the house, you sigh at the warmth, he already has a fire going. It’s rapidly getting cold, and you can hear the wind whipping along with a low distant rumble. Despite the fire, you know he’s right about it getting pretty cold. Gently sitting on the edge of the mattress, you try to ignore how soft it is, and take off your boots. Slipping off your vest, you climb up further on the bed, bouncing a bit in delight.
"Move over, sunshine." He motions for you to follow, since you’re in the middle of the bed. You bounce on your butt to do so, too enamored with the mattress to really focus on him.
"Ah!" You squeak when he wraps his arm around you, lifting you with ease so he can pull the blankets out from under you and back. Your face is rapidly heating along with your lower stomach, and you finally look over him as he gets in the bed. He’s taken off his bear hide coat, leaving him in just a light brown henley shirt. The ends of the sleeves are rolled up to rest right below his elbows and you marvel at the evident muscle there.
"Sleep, (Y/N)." Jongho lays back, adjusting his head on the pillow and you slowly follows suit. You nearly moans in delight at the feeling of the mattress cradling you, the pillow under your head just as soft. Yep, you never want to sleep on a bedroll again. You’re startled out of your thoughts when he pulls the blankets up and over you, rolling onto his side so he can face you. He props himself up on his palm, elbow to the bed, delicately resting the end of the blanket up near your chin. Your face burns hot, and you nestle into the bedding to hide.
"Th-thank you for letting me stay here for the storm…" You mumble and he hums, finally resting down himself, still facing you. When he pulls the blanket up and over himself, you feel the heat rapidly rise under the covers. You’ve never felt so warm and cozy in your life, and you suddenly feel your weariness. Blinking, trying to stay awake, you look over his face, vision hazy from sleepiness. He’s…
"So handsome." You mutter, barely registering you said it aloud, and he hears it. The bear smirks at the compliment.
"Gets some sleep, pretty girl." His clawed finger comes up and brushes a strand of hair off your face and you can’t help but follow his instruction.
~UuU~
Probably only an hour or two later, you’re forced awake by a flash of light, a booming rumble, then the sound of wood snapping. You had rolled over onto your stomach, so you prop yourself up on your elbows underneath you. The blanket hangs over your head, but you can see through the shutters of the window to the side of the bed. You had heard of a thundersnow before but had never experienced one. You shiver at the cool air hitting your face, it’s so nice and warm under the blankets. Burrowing back under, you roll to your side, facing the bear. You had nearly forgotten he was right there, and you find your face right against his chest. It rises and falls as he sleeps, and you’re a bit surprised he doesn’t snore, like…you know, like a bear.
Swallowing hard to steel your nerves for your next move, you slowly reach out, pressing your fingertips against the hard muscle of his chest. You shiver, wanting to feel over him more, see him…
"Haven't you heard not to poke a sleeping bear, sunshine?" His voice rumbling startles you. It’s deep and rough from sleep and you roll your eyes back a bit at how it makes you feel, and his comment.
"Yeah, and?" You do it again, pressing just one finger against his chest that time, literally poking him. Poke. Poke. Poke.
"Huh?" You feel the bed shift, and he rolls, propping himself up over you on his forearm, pinning you to the mattress. Your hands are clenches into fists at your chest, holding them close to you for security. His face is so close, and you can feel the breath leaving his nostrils. As he looms over you, he shifts his knee up, his thick leg wedging between yours. You shiver, letting out a small whine when his thigh presses against your mound. Jongho smirks, leaning down so his mouth is right by your ear.
"Your decision. See what poking a bear does." You loosen one fist, index finger sticking out, shaking.
Poke.
His large hands suddenly seize your hips, claws slightly digging into the flesh of your ass through your pants. With his grip, he presses your core against his thigh, forcing you to grind over him. You sigh at the feeling; a bit of a whine laced through the exhale. He shifts his knee further forward and hauls you up so he can wedge it under your lower back. Jongho leads you to wrap your legs around his middle, still pressing you down to grind your covered cunt on his upper thigh. That pulls a moan from you, and you gasp hard when he starts laying open-mouthed kisses over your neck and shoulder. A low rumble hits your ears and at first you think it’s more distant thunder, but then you can feel it as you press your hands to his chest. Your fingers dig into the fabric of his shirt, and you moan as his kisses turn to sucking, and he barely digs his sharp teeth into your shoulder. Without his, or your prompting, your hips jump, and he presses into your movement. The bear's cock is growing hard, and your eyes flutter closed when you feel it. Can he even fit?
"Are you sure about this, sunshine?" He pulls away, smirking as he admires the growing bruises he created over your shoulders and neck.
"Yeah, why?" Your eyes meet his as a bolt of lightning lights the room, then thunder rumbles, snow blowing harsh against the window.
"Think your little body can handle me?" Jongho tilts his head, that smirk still there and you purposely move your hips, whining.
"Yes!"
"You sure?"
"Will you just fuck me already?" You nearly shout. He doesn’t answer, but your next plea is silenced as he swallows it, tongue easily wiggling its way into your mouth. Your eyes rolls back as his hands dig into the flesh of your hips, avoiding using his claws too much. When your head starts to swim, he pulls back from the kiss, smirking at the end of your tongue sticking out a bit from your mouth. One hand goes to your jaw, thumb slipping into your mouth, and you eagerly suck on it, tongue avoiding the sharp part of his claw.
"Want something else, sunshine?" Jongho grins deviously as you nod, whimpering. He gets off of you then and you immediately miss not just the weight of him over you, but the heat his body releases. You just stare in awe as he finally pulls the shirt off, and his muscle is clearly from strength, brute strength, not to look good. Though…he does.
"Hurry up, sunshine." His hand grips over the bulge in his pants, and you rapidly sit up, your own hands going to the waist band. He watches calmly as you struggle to gets the button undone and you bite your lip as you get his pants open. His hard cock nearly springs out and you feel your mouth water at the sight, jaw already sore. Your long fluffy tail waves behind you, ears drooping as your small hand tries to wrap around his girth. Can’t even get your fingers to touch and your cunt spasms, telling you it’s good and ready for him. Licking your lips to try and prevent the drool from dripping too bad, you stick just the head in your mouth, tongue eagerly swirling. The salty drop of precum you taste just fuels the fire and your eyes lazily flit up to meets his. The look he gives you nearly makes you whine; you don’t know what bears call alphas, but he sure is one. Jongho's eyebrow crooks up, waiting boredly, and you swallow a few times, then ease him further in. It’s a bit hard to keep your teeth behind your lips with how big his cock is, but he fits. The slight pressure from the sides of your long canines just adds to the pleasure of your hot and wet mouth, drool already spilling from your lips. His eyes watch your tail wave back and forth, chest starting to rumble again as you take more of his cock. The head hits your throat, he’s only about halfway in and you swallow again, tongue eagerly slicking the underside of his dick. Your eyes meet again, and he barely seems phased, so you suck hard, your other hand joining the first to cover more of him. Bobbing your head, you hollow your cheeks, whimpering at the taste of him. His large hand lands on your head, thump stroking the soft skin on the inside of your ear and you shift your posture. Sitting back on your knees more, you widen your legs to lower you some, and let go with your hands.
"You sure, sunshine?" Jongho's smirk has come back and a full growl rumbles through the room when you nod. Sucking air in harshly through your nose, swallowing to try and prevent your gags, he takes charge, easing his cock in himself. When the fat head hits the back, he continues in, groaning as your eyes flutter back. Your breathing is loud and fast, trying to take in enough air so when he finally fills your throat, you can hold your breath for a bit. The spasms of your throat with your gags makes him chuckle and he starts to pump his hips, fucking his cock into your mouth. The slick sounds of your spit and lolling tongue are almost drowned out by the storm, but he can clearly hear your whines. He can feel them vibrating over his dick as well and he paid attention to your breathing and paced his thrusts.
"You thirsty, sunshine?" The bear laughs when your next whine is louder and he grunts, waiting for your breath. Once you’ve inhaled hard, he plunges in, so your nose is pressed to his groin, hot thick spurts of cum going straight down your throat. Your cunt spasms, slick dripping nearly through your pants, clit throbbing as you ride your high against the thick seam. Your vision starts to blur, brain fogging, still swallowing over and over to get all he gives down, and he finally withdraws so you can suck in air. Your throat is raw, sore, but you’d let him do it all over again and thank him for it too. Now that his high had faded, though his dick is still rock hard, he can smell the thick aroma of your arousal. You smell like spring grass and fresh water, laced with the sweet scent of marigolds.
"Lay back, sunshine." He prompts and you flop back onto your back, body shivering, though it isn’t clear from what. There’s a dark stain on the crotch of your pants; he notices as he takes his off. You’re hauled to sit up as he tugs at your shirt, tearing a few runs into it as he pulls it off of you and you squeak as he wrestles your leather leggings off. They flop onto the floor behind him and your scent has grown stronger, making his pupils narrow, brow furrowing. You eagerly wrap your arms around his broad shoulders when he crawls over you, nose running up your throat. Jongho nearly roars as he growls, grasping your thighs, pulling back so he can manhandle you. Your knee ends up at your ear, the other looped over his elbow and your eyes can only focus on his fat cock head pressing against your folds.
"Fuck!" You throw back your head, back arching when he presses in, not rough but not slow either. With all your strength, you lift your head to watch your cunt flutter to accommodate the stretch, core burning. He realizes then maybe he should have prepped you a bit, your pussy is so tight, that if you weren’t so wet, he wouldn’t be able to fill you so easily. You both, at the same moment, notice that there’s already a bulge forming from your stomach, his thick cock not even in all the way. You should have known the minute he kissed you before that you were ruined, but now it’s for sure. You know you’ll be sore in the morning too, but you’ll prefer being sore the rest of your life as his bed partner than to never fuck him again. His deep chuckle morphs into a grunt as he bottoms out, slick spilling from your stretched hole and onto the bed below. If he’d known that you were only about a mile from his home, your cute little face and cute little pussy, he’d have gone and found you himself.
"Jongho~" You nearly howl, hands reaching for him, out of his reach from sitting up straight. Adjusting your legs, while letting your core adjust to him, he presses down close so your hands can find purchase on his back. Your ankles are at his ears, hot breath panting against his lips.
"You like my cock, precious?" The new pet-name is even worse than the others, and he can tell by how your gummy walls pulse harder around him. His plush lips brushes over yours, then he feels you gasp into his mouth with the kiss, his groin pressing against your swollen clit. He watches your eyes glaze over, body falling limp as he pulls his hips back, giving a shallow and weak thrusts, gaging if your body is ready.
"Too much?" The bear coos when you shake your head no.
"More?" He prompts and that time, you shake your head yes. You should have guessed how powerful he could be, but you still aren’t expecting the bed frame to crack against the wall with the first thrust. Your body screams, but no sound leaves you as Jongho moves to press your knees to your ears, each deep, hard thrust forcing a tiny orgasm out of you. Your cunt burns from the stretch and stimulation, and your brain is fried. Good thing you’re out in the woods with a storm raging, because you’re squeaking and squealing, grunts and groans leaving him as well. Jongho rolls forward a bit more, hips barreling his cock down into your folded body, his thick claws leaving deep gouges into the wood as he grips the headboard.
"Want my cum, precious? Huh, want my fat cock to fuck you stupid? Hm?" His tone is incredibly patronizing, and it goes straight to your cunt. You’re leaving a puddle on the bedding beneath your hips and a mix of your drool and tears have left one on his pillow too. The cold from the snowstorm seems to have been completely negated by the heat you feel, from him and because of him.
"Fill me, please! Jongho~" He isn’t sure why that time is different, the way you moan his name, but it goes to his head and his cock, orgasm hitting. Hot waves of cum fill you, the head of his dick pressed right against your cervix, so much slick and release squirting out from where you’re connects. His hips continues to rolls a bit, and you wonder how he’s still so hard after pumping so much cum into you, and your poor pussy is stinging from the countless numbed of times he made you cum. You barely know your name or where you are, let alone what you let slip before.
"Like my big cock, precious?" The bear smirks when your droopy eyes fly open, ears flicking, tail starting to thumb against the bed.
"You did good for me, sunshine." He’s getting into it then, loving your reaction, face reddening further, cunt clenching around him more. It’s like you’re a dog, tail wagging for being a good girl. You yipe when he pulls out from you, the rapid loss takes the air out of your lungs. He rolls you over and you can’t hold yourself up at all, so only his hands on your hips keeps them raised. You cry out when the head of his messy cock meets your equally messy folds once more and he don’t ease in that time. He somehow gets even deeper, hips slapping against your ass so hard that you’re sure the skin will be red and stinging soon. Your own claws gouged into the wood of the headboard, not able to do anything but take what he gives you, sweat coating both your bodies.
"Don't worry precious, I won’t break you." The bear laughs, grinding his cock deep, as you come once more, the sting is fading into pain, and you fear he can go much longer.
"Just. A. Bit. More." He grunts, chest rumbling and falls over the edge again, the heat inside you reignites as more hot white paints your core.
"Going to stay here with me? Be my cute little vixen?" His sudden question barely registers in your head, exhaustion taking over.
"Okay~"

I Bet You Look Good in Pink (On the Dancefloor)
Pairing: Aaron Hotchner x Male!Reader
Rating: Mature
Summary: You panicked and grabbed some poor stranger off the street to be your fake boyfriend to get your mom off your back. What could go wrong?
Content Warnings: Crack, fluff, meet cute, first kiss, first person pov, male reader, fake relationship
A/N: This is pure crack influenced by this guy I saw doing videos walking up to dudes saying “I’m out with my husband, say hi mom” and wanted to explore Hotch reacting to that while Rossi ran amok at the end. That’s it. That’s the fic. Enjoy!
Also available on AO3. I recommend having work skins on if you do, so you can see the social media and text skins.
I was set out on a brisk jog—more of a speed walk, who was I kidding—before work to prepare my mind for the day's stresses. All that went to hell in a handbasket when I felt my phone buzz and my earbuds start playing a jingle, which only meant that my mother was calling me.
I’d been dodging her calls for weeks knowing she was asking whether or not I was bringing my “boyfriend” to my cousin's wedding. I had made the smart decision to tell my mom I was seeing someone—a total lie—thinking I could make several excuses about his absence and things would be okay, considering I didn’t see my mom as often as I should.
Then, my cousin just had to announce a wedding on short notice.
I had never wanted someone to call off a wedding so badly in my life. My mother couldn’t resist meddling either and marked me down as having a plus one without consulting me first.
“Patience” and “understanding” were not words I would use to describe my reaction.
I groaned when I saw that it was a video call, too. Sighing heavily, I answered the phone and picked up the pace again, hoping the loud sounds of the city and my huffing and puffing would get her off the phone faster. Knowing her, I wouldn't be so lucky.
“Hey, Mom,” I breathed heavily, my feet pounding on the pavement.
“Hi, honey, I wanted to talk to you about Vanessa's wedding.”
“Yea? What about it?” I asked nonchalantly barely able to hold in my labored breaths, looking forward rather than at the phone so I didn't trip and eat the pavement.
“You haven't double booked anything have you?” she asked, a wary tone to her voice, expecting me to cancel at the last minute.
“No, Mom. I didn't forget.”
“Then, your boyfriend is coming, right? I think it’s been long enough that I should meet him, sweetie,” she smiled on the other end.
Honestly, she was right. I had told her about “him” about six months ago, being as vague as possible every time he was brought up.
My brain—on the other hand—had other ideas causing me to immediately panic, not knowing how to respond. If I told her I lied to her and that he wasn’t real or that we “broke up", she would be back to hounding me and trying to set me up with every man she met. If I made another excuse, she would be suspicious. I almost felt bad lying to her, but “getting the hint” was not one of her strong suits.
As my brain warred with itself, I spotted another man running just up ahead dressed in a dark t-shirt, shorts, and plain running shoes. He was slowing down as we approached a crosswalk with flashing red lights indicating that it wasn’t safe to cross.
This might end up topping my list of idiotic plans, but—
“Yes, Mom. My boyfriend is coming,” I raised my voice slightly as I finally got to the crosswalk where the man was bouncing on his toes to stay warm.
I noticed the vague glance he shot my way at my voice and presence, but that was the only acknowledgment I received.
He was kind of cute this close-up. His soft dark hair contrasted sharply with his light complexion. He was in his mid to late forties but clearly in excellent shape and by his stone-faced expression, a government worker like many people in this area.
“We’re actually finishing up our run, soon,” I stepped closer to him, meeting his hawk-like eyes with a pleading, pitiful expression. With reflexes I wasn’t aware I possessed, I switched the call to speaker and turned the phone toward him, “Say, ‘hi’, babe!”
The glare he gave me was a mix of incredulous confusion and wariness as he checked his surroundings like he was expecting someone to come out and attack him while I distracted him.
Definitely a government agent, then.
“Um,” he started cautiously. “Who are—"
I hurriedly tapped the mute button on the call, wanting to grab his wrist and plead like a child asking for sweets. I restrained myself, expecting that he would have me face down on the concrete in a second if I did.
I probably wouldn’t even mind that.
“Hi, sorry,” I quickly spat my name out at him in my haste. “Please, play along. I’ll owe you my entire life, please,” I begged.
Was I being dramatic? Totally. But I was desperate to give her an actual face to get her off of my back.
One last glance around us and he relented, bending somewhat to be level with the phone’s camera. I tapped the mute button again.
“Sorry, Mom, his hearing is a little bad. Babe, say ‘hi’ to my mom,” I raised my voice, positioning myself so I was just in front of him and both of us fit in the frame.
I heard him slowly exhale behind me, then a soft smile spread over his face in the camera preview, “Hello, Ms...”
I felt him smack my back with the back of his hand, making me jump but I murmured her last name out of the corner of my mouth.
“Right, hello,” he smiled again. “I’m age—Aaron. It’s nice to finally meet you.”
“Oh, how handsome,” she winked and I felt my soul immediately leave my body.
How childish would it be to launch my phone into the street right now?
“Yea, um, so—we're—” I started but was interrupted.
“Aaron, sweetheart, I love my son to death but his memory is awful. I hope he told you about his cousin’s wedding. I’d love to meet you there,” she interrupted me.
Aaron’s smile faded somewhat, probably internally panicking as much as I was.
“I should have stayed home,” I heard him murmur under his breath. “Uhm, no, but it’s been a pretty hectic couple of weeks for me, so it’s not entirely his fault,” Aaron covered smoothly, bringing a hand up to my shoulder and stepping closer.
Damn, he was good.
“You poor thing,” she cooed. “Well, I hope you can make it.”
“Of course, I’ll do my best.”
“Oh, and she changed the colors to pastel pink, so I hope that’s not too hard for you to come up with, honey.”
My jaw clenched. Of course, she changed the colors. Luckily, I had a navy blue suit that would go with the only pastel pink shirt I owned.
“I’ll make it work, Mom, thanks.”
I could feel Aaron glaring at me through the video preview, his fingertips digging into my shoulder. Like he was questioning every life choice that landed him in this present moment.
I reached my hand back, fingers barely grazing the side of his neck as I looked back at him, “I think you have one.”
Aaron’s eyes flicked down to my lips and back to my eyes so quickly I almost missed it, “You would—uh—know better than me.” He sounded unfocused and dazed as he reacted to my movements.
“I think so,” I winked, pressing my lips to his stubbly chin and focusing back on the phone, seeing my mother’s eyes lit up with glee. “Anyway, Mom, I gotta go home and get ready for work. Love you.”
“Okay, have a great week, sweetie, I love you, too! It was nice to meet you, Aaron.”
“You as well,” he smiled, giving her a small wave before the call ended.
My face dropped as soon as the call was over, turning to face Aaron, “I am so sorry for that! I panicked and I’ll admit it was not my finest moment. And I’m especially sorry if that whole thing made you uncomfortable because I’m...you know...and I kissed—yea—uhm...I’m sorry.”
Aaron scratched the back of his neck awkwardly, “It’s okay.” He shifted in place, looking at the people passing us rather than me, “I’m actually...bi? Is that the word?”
This man was getting better by the minute.
“Good enough,” I smiled.
The silence stretched between us again. Was it too late to run across the street and away from this silence? I glanced at the light as it turned back to red—the third one we’ve missed now.
“I’m—uh—sorry, too,” he finally said.
“Why?” I asked him, confused, “I trampled all over your morning.”
“I thought you were distracting me to—er—hurt me, rob me, ambush me...” he trailed off, looking just past me.
I couldn't help the laugh that bubbled up my throat and morphed into a full-bodied laugh, “Honey, please...look at me.”
Aaron’s shocked face slowly cracked, laughing with me finally. His shoulders relaxed a little, not as on edge as he was when I first approached him.
He had a beautiful smile, I was learning.
“What—uh—what day is that wedding?” he finally asked as our laughter settled down.
“Oh, you don’t actually have to go. I can make something up, really,” I waved him off. “I just needed to give her a face to give my claims some validation.”
Aaron shrugged, his arms flailing slightly, “My coworkers tell me I need to get out more, so...”
Oh.
“Well, in that case...” I unlocked my phone and checked the calendar to be absolutely sure lest my mother fry me, “It’s next month. The fifth. You have approximately twenty-five days.”
How was this my life right now?
“My schedule is—well it’s unpredictable, so I’ll let you know?” he cringed a little.
Government agent. Right. No wonder his posture was so good.
“And how were you planning on doing that?” I asked with a smirk.
He froze for a second, brain rebooting, “I was hoping I could get your number, actually,” he laughed shyly, looking down and patting his pockets to locate his phone.
He fumbled with the phone for a second and finally handed it to me. Pursing my lips, I laughed to myself as I typed my name in and put “boyfriend” with a heart in parenthesis before typing my number in. I handed it back to him, seeing the way his face flushed at the name I put in.
“I’m serious, though, if you can’t or don’t want to just let me know. You’re in no way obligated.”
“Yeah, I will,” he nodded, making a move to continue his journey.
We both crossed the street, him breaking back out into a run and me a brisk-ish stroll as I got my music playing again. I caught him looking back a couple of times, making me wonder if he was challenging me to catch up or making sure I didn’t follow him home. A smile pulled across his face as he saw me start to speed up. As we reached the next intersection, I held my hand up in a wave as I turned left while he continued straight and crossed the street.
-
Aaron POV
Aaron had been understandably wary of the man who approached him that morning. He had a dangerous job and had experienced more than enough trauma for one lifetime.
He was ambushed. Just not like had expected.
All of a sudden, he was talking to a lady and gently touching a man he didn’t know and—
Uh.
Did he just kiss Aaron?
On his chin, but still.
He wasn't sure if he was conscious at that moment, except for the fire burning on his face.
Aaron made it home and to Quantico in a haze. He sat at his desk, staring at the phone in his hand like it might suddenly burst into flames. A phone number, a name, and an invitation. Nothing more. Nothing less.
It had been hours since the incident, and yet, the warmth of a stranger’s lips on his cheek still lingered like an unresolved case in his mind. He wasn’t sure if it was the sheer audacity and absurdity of the encounter or the way he had simply…gone along with it. The sound of the stranger’s voice still echoed—quick, clever, and just a little desperate.
"Babe, say ‘hi’ to my mom."
And Aaron—fucking—Hotchner, a man trained in several facets like terrorism, law, and behavioral analysis, had folded like a damn lawn chair.
Which is why he now found himself in a situation far more dangerous than being ambushed in the middle of a morning run—standing in Penelope Garcia’s office.
Penelope turned in her chair and blinked at him, fingers frozen over her keyboard assessing him.
“Sir,” she said slowly, looking him up and down like he had just walked in wearing a clown wig. He certainly felt like it. “Hi, sir. Hotch. Uh, sir. What… are you doing here? Do we have a case?”
Aaron didn’t answer immediately. Instead, he set a paper down on her desk where he’d written the man’s number and slid it toward her with two fingers. “Can you run this for me?” He cleared his throat. “Unofficially.”
Her eyes flicked from the paper to his face, then back to the paper. Then back to his face.
She gasped, “Oh my God. Is this—” She clapped her hands over her mouth, muffling an excited squeal. “Are you asking for a background on a new lady friend?”
Aaron’s jaw tightened, teeth grinding under the pressure, “Garcia.”
“You are.” Her voice was an octave higher, her whole body vibrating with barely contained glee. “Oh, my stars, this is my favorite day—”
“It's not—” He sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. “It’s not like that.”
Garcia wiggled her fingers at him. “Oh, no, no, no, sir, you do not get to walk into my office, ask me to dig into some poor lady's entire life, and then pretend like this isn’t about romance.”
Aaron exhaled sharply.
There was no easy way out of this now.
“He approached me this morning,” he admitted. “Called me his boyfriend—to his mother over the phone—and I…played along. His mother invited me to his cousin’s wedding.”
Garcia gawked at Aaron, completely glossing over the fact that Aaron had implied a man. He shouldn’t be surprised that she didn’t care, “You played along?”
He glanced away, embarrassed, “It was—unexpected.”
She pointed at Aaron accusingly. “You liked it.”
“I did not.”
“You so did.”
“Garcia—”
She cackled, typing the number in furoiusly and bringing up several windows, “Well, now I have to know who this mystery man is. I would have never guessed, boss man, but I can't judge a book by it’s cover. Oh, what if he’s a spy? Or an undercover agent? Or—”
“I was thinking more along the lines of a scam artist,” Aaron muttered.
She hummed, making a tsk with her tongue and teeth, “Doubt it. Cute guys don’t run scams, they just break hearts.”
Hotch gave her a flat look, “That’s how you—”
“Not a word,” she held a finger up. “Give me five minutes.”
And just like that, Garcia’s fingers were flying over the keyboard. The glow of her multiple monitors flashed across her face as she scrolled through the man’s life with the skill of a seasoned technical analyst and the enthusiasm of a gossip columnist.
Aaron crossed his arms, exhaling sharply at her wild glee, “Anything?”
“Oh, my dear sir, I have everything.” Garcia’s eyes widened. “Oh. Oh my God.”
Aaron's posture stiffened, leaning in closer to the screen. Dread filled his stomach at what she could have found, “What?”
“He’s adorable!”
Aaron immediately frowned, he was too old for this shit, “That’s not relevant.”
“Oh, but it is,” Penelope turned one of the monitors slightly so he could see. “Look at this. Your mystery man is a dog dad—and look at this cutie pie of a pup! He posts pictures of her in cute sweaters—sir, he’s a sweater-on-dogs guy.”
Aaron barely glanced at the screen. “And?”
Garcia gasped, “Oh, and? And? That means he has a soft heart, sir. That means he is a man of culture. Also, look at him.”
Hotch did not look at the screen. He refused actually.
Garcia, however, had no such reservations. She clicked on another post. “He hikes! Look at him in the mountains with that perfect lighting—who is taking these pictures, wow? Oh, that’s so unfair. Pretty people should not have good lighting and cute dogs.”
Aaron exhaled through his nose, long and slow. “He sure was struggling to catch up to me today.”
“He strolls, sir. Not everyone runs marathons.”
“Garcia.”
She ignored him, clicking another post, “Ooh, he bakes. He’s posted about trying new recipes. There’s a caption—‘Husband material 😏😉’.” She turned to him, eyes wide with revelation. “This is so fate.”
He finally looked at her, doing his best to look unimpressed but he was slowly softening to the man, too, “Fate?”
She pointed at the screen. “Sir, this man makes baked goods, is absolutely adorable, and randomly fake-dated you? That is the universe working in real-time.”
Aaron pinched the bridge of his nose. Why had she put so much stress on “you”? He was a catch, too.
“Oh, wait, what’s this?” She clicked on another post and let out yet another squeal, “He dressed up as a cowboy for Halloween. Sir, I swear to you—”
“I’m leaving.”
Garcia lunged forward, grabbing his wrist before he could retreat. A playful glare had her releasing him instantly. Still, Garcia looked up at him, eyes twinkling, “He’s precious.”
Aaron sighed, rubbing his temple. “Did you find anything that would suggest he’s dangerous?”
Garcia grinned. “Only to your heart, sir.”
Hotch turned on his heel and left.
Garcia called after him, sing-song, “So, are you going to call him or what?”
Aaron was not going to dignify that with a response. He had just made it to the door when Garcia made more excited yelps and beckoned him back.
“Oh, oh, wait, wait, sir, come back!”
With a sigh, he turned, “Hmm?”
Garcia spun one of the monitors toward him, biting back a grin, “So, uh. You remember when he mentioned a wedding?”
Aaron frowned, “Yes?”
“It’s real,” She clicked on a recent post. It was a screenshot of a text conversation:

Garcia wheezed, “Sir, you are his manifested date.”
Hotch stared at the screen, resisting the urge to chuckle at his ridiculous antics. It was good to know he was actually that awkward online, too.
“…I see. To be fair, he did give me a choice.”
Garcia tilted her head, watching him carefully. “Perfect, you could just text him and say you’re not going. Or—” Her smile turned devious. “You could meet up and—you know—practice before the real thing.”
Aaron gave her a deadpan look.
She beamed.
Without a word, Aaron turned and walked out but sighed, stopping the door from shutting all the way with his hand. He poked his head back in, “Thanks, Penelope.”
MC POV
I honestly, didn’t expect Aaron to text me. It had been about a week since I ran into him. Throughout that time, I hadn’t seen him out and about any other morning. So, I couldn’t tell if he’d been avoiding me, we were completely missing each other, or he was just busy.
I chose to believe he was busy because boy would I not mind seeing him and those perfect hands again.
My thoughts were put at ease when I got a text ten days after I ran into him, smack on a Saturday morning.

I had no idea what to reply as I stared at my phone with a puppy chewing on my sweater sleeves.
“Mochi, no,” I absentmindedly corrected her. “Daddy needs to think.”
While I thought about a response, I saved his contact to my phone under “Aaron (Mom's Fav)”.

I could practically feel his exasperation through the phone. But I did hope he thought I was somewhat funny, too.

My heart felt like it was ready to jump out of my throat as I read his text. Tonight? Like TONIGHT?
“Mochi, come here, baby. I need support,” I dragged the over-excited puppy into my lap and hugged her to my lap with one hand while the other held my phone.
What do I even say to that? Deflecting with humor sounded like a safe bet.

Aaron’s address was sent shortly after and I wasn't surprised to see that it was only a couple blocks north of mine in the direction he ran the day we met. I threw my head back on my couch, giddy to see Aaron again. My brain finally caught up with what that meant. I was going to be alone with the man, with only Mochi as a chaperone and she couldn’t care less about who I embarrassed myself in front of. I had nothing to hide behind, no buffer, no screen, no over-excited mother to parry off of.
Fuck. Why was I like this?
Then I realized I had a lot of work to do and leaped off the couch to make him a study guide. I had pictures of the important people: my parents, siblings, bride and groom, and some assorted aunts and uncles. I wouldn't subject him to memorizing the kids because—let's be honest—they didn't care about the old folks anyway. It wasn’t too long of a list, only about three pages that I printed out to make it easy for him.
Once I had that sorted, I thought about what to bring. Can you go wrong with brownies? Actually...I’m sure you could, but it was the most practiced thing I knew how to make without messing up considering the state of my head.
The time snuck up on me quickly and I frantically took the brownies out of the oven to cool before running to my room to get ready with Mochi hot on my heels. She guarded the shower, attacking my towels and shower mat as I hurriedly washed myself. Doing my best to not trip over her and slip on the slick floor—medical emergencies were not ideal right now—I ran back to my room to towel off and get dressed.
“Ok, little girl, what color are we feeling today?”
I laid out a couple different collars for her, which she hopped excitedly around and chose one to attack. Lilac it was.
“Should we match?” she gave me a beady-eyed stare, focused only on gaining possession of the collar again. “You don’t give two shits.”
I fastened the collar around her neck and tugged a matching sweater over her, taking the time to gush over how adorable she looked.
I surprisingly found a passable first-date shirt that sort of matched her and finished getting ready. In my haste, I nearly forgot the small tray of brownies as I fed Mochi and packed a couple of toys to distract her. Nearly screaming, I covered the tray and put it by the door with the other stuff so I wouldn't forget.
I was a wreck the entire drive to Aaron’s. For no reason, too. As much as I teased him, he was right.
This wasn’t a date. But, he was hot and I was me.
I located his apartment with relative ease and waited nervously outside with an impatient puppy at my side and a glass tray under my arm digging into my ribs. His cheat sheet lay balanced atop the foil. Making a nervous whine in the back of my throat, I finally knocked with my free hand that held Mochi’s leash.
The door swung open, Aaron on the other side with a dish towel over his shoulder in a dark polo. I stared at the skin past the unbuttoned top buttons, completely missing whatever he said to me.
“—need help?” I caught at the end of his sentence.
“Oh, uh, yea sort of,” I winced as I shifted the tray, which he gladly took from me, noticing the paper on top as he ushered me inside and shut the door behind me.
“You can let her off, it’s fine. I closed all the doors already,” he nodded to where Mochi was eagerly wanting to sniff every surface she could reach.
Wow, he’s perfect.
I unclipped her leash, laughing at the way she made a beeline for Aaron’s jeans, nipping at the material before skittering over to his sofa. I tossed the toys I brought with me to the floor, so she would leave his belongings alone.
“This is...a good look on you,” I smiled nervously, taking in the domesticity of his clothes. My bravado over text completely flew out the window.
“Mm, I was married once upon a time,” He smirked, turning back to the stove.
“Was?”
“Yea, we found out I was married to my work more.”
“Oh. I’m sorry.”
Aaron just shrugged, “It was a long time ago.”
I chewed my lip, desperate to change the topic. My eyes landed on the papers I brough with me.
“Oh! I brought this so we could go over my family.”
I picked up the papers and met him near the stove, leaning against the counter where there was free space he wasn't utilizing. He smiled softly in my direction as he cooked, nodding and stirring.
“Go for it,” he nodded.
I was surprised he wanted to start now while he was busy cooking but went ahead anyway. I would show him the picture, tell him their name and relation, and move on. He listened diligently, repeating names and making sure they were pronounced correctly before moving on. His eyes moved over the pictures like they were calculating and cataloging every little detail of their faces. He would lean in for a closer look at the pictures, standing much closer and making me stumble over my words. My face would feel like it was on fire.
Aaron didn’t comment on it.
He was weirdly good at it, remembering faces and recalling details from short-term memory.
I wanted to ask how but didn’t want to intrude more than he was allowing me. My big mouth couldn’t be stopped, though.
“Wh—,” I started, my voice hitching when he moved into my space and grabbed something on the other side of me. His arm wrapped around me, chest scraping mine as he looked at me expectantly to keep talking. “—wh—uhm…hmm,” I raised my eyebrows, scratching the back of my neck awkwardly under his gaze.
He sighed with an amused smile, “You can’t act like this every time I touch you at the wedding, boyfriend.”
I cleared my throat, blinking rapidly, “Act like what?”
Aaron shook his head, adding the item he grabbed and stirring briefly. He gave me a pointed look, “You freeze up and stutter.”
“I do not.”
“You do. You just did.”
Aaron set his large spoon down and crowded my space, “If you’re nervous about being close to me, then you need to get used it.” His hands framed my hips on the counter behind me, “Touch me.”
I nearly choked on my own saliva.
“I—I’m sorry?”
Aaron was unfazed, “If we’re going to sell this, you can’t tense up and shy away every time I stand next to you. So, touch me. Now.”
I stared at him, his brown eyes boring into mine with long lashes framing them.
He’s so pretty.
I raised my hand up and pressed a finger to his chest. His very firm, very nice chest that stretched the fabric of his polo.
“Not like that,” he sighed, taking my wrist and guiding my hand more firmly to his chest.
Oh.
Brain.exe has stopped working.
I swallowed, pressing my palm more confidently against him and looking just past his head. Aaron tilted his head, purposely catching my gaze again. Picking up my free hand, I rested it on his bicep, where his shirt met his skin.
“So—uh,” I tried to think at the same time, gently squeezing the muscle and sliding my hand around to the back of his arm. “You have a really good memory.”
“Mhm.”
“Where do you work?” I finally asked.
“For the DOJ,” he answered automatically.
“Got it, top secret,” I laughed.
He dropped his head sheepishly, “Sorry. It’s kind of an automatic answer for people I just met.”
He lifted his head up, smiling and moving a hand to my lower back. I fought the jump that threatened to move my body and lost, tensing just a little.
“I work for the FBI,” he finished.
“That makes so much more sense,” I laughed, sliding my hand up from his chest to his shoulder.
I licked my lip as his head tilted away from my hand.
An invitation.
Slowly, my hand made its way to his neck. His eyes fluttered shut as my fingers slipped around the back of his neck while my thumb brushed just below his ear.
“Good,” he hummed with his eyes still closed, helping my confidence just enough since I was no longer under his watchful gaze.
“This is so stupid, why am I nervous? I literally kissed your face on a whim in front of my mother.”
Aaron shrugged, “You tell me.”
Frankly, I did know. I was legitimately attracted to him beyond this whole fake dating bullshit.
He still stared, expecting an answer.
“Oh, you want me to say it out loud?”
“Yea.”
“Well, I—”
“Look at me.”
It wasn’t a suggestion.
Looking directly at him, I continued, “I think I’m just actually attracted to you and all of my confidence over text goes out the window when that happens. I don’t have anything to hide behind, you know?”
“Mm,” he hummed. “Would be hard to sell if we didn’t find each other attractive.”
Wait.
We?
Aaron leaned forward.
I held my breath.
His lips touched my cheek, pressing a soft kiss there before straightening up and going back to the food before it burned.
My cheek was on fire.
He found me attractive, too?
Dinner was a little easier, reviewing my family again to make sure things were sticking with him. Mochi had come over at some point to chew on my shoelaces as we talked. Aaron picked her up, having finished his food first, and let her chew on his arm with her little dagger teeth. As soon as I finished, I grabbed his plate and took it to the sink—which he protested.
“You’re babysitting, it’s the least I can do,” I slapped his hand away.
Aaron kept me company instead, leaning against the counter with Mochi in his arms. We diligently went over our backstory, how we met, our first date, etcetera—knowing full well that my mother would ask every single question she could think of. Whether it was meant to be private or public.
Mochi eventually wiggled out of his grasp, running over to one of her toys, snagging it, and doing laps around the couch.
Aaron smiled as he watched her, then turned to take the wet dishes from my hands to dry them. My fingers tingled as his own fingers brushed mine, but I kept my cool and he noticed with a proud nod.
“See? You’re doing better already.”
I roll my eyes, watching him push off the counter to put the dishes away. I turned the water off, busy drying my hands when I felt two hands come to my hips with Aaron’s breath against my shoulder. His body heat was plastered against my back. I was proud of myself for not tensing up, instead waiting for him to do something while I placed my damp hands over his as his hands met at the front of my hips.
“I’m assuming you know how to dance?” He murmured.
“Yes, I know how to dance at a wedding. I know you’re out of practice and all but this is not how you do that,” I laughed.
“Just making sure you wouldn’t jump,” he muttered, his nose brushing the shell of my ear and his lips skimming the back of my neck.
“I’ve calmed down a little, okay?” I rolled my eyes, turning to face him.
I gripped his upper arms, his arms still wrapped around me, and slid them up his shoulders until they could meet around his neck.
“Can I try something?” I asked.
He seemed to already know, eyes half-lidded and already staring at my mouth, “Go ahead."
I leaned in, pressing my lips to his gently, separating only to come back and press a little harder. Aaron’s hips closed the gap between us, arms pulling me close at the same time.
This had to be heaven.
My hand cupped the back of his head, eagerly bringing him down as my lips parted. The tip of his tongue flicked out at my bottom lip, nearly making me whine in the back of my throat. The friction of our pants did not help in that department.
I pulled back; the kiss having been much briefer than it felt. Aaron’s mouth chased mine, barely able to mutter, “Again,” before his tongue was licking my mouth open.
A moan ripped from my throat as his tongue skimmed the hypersensitive skin of the roof of my mouth. The shiver I fought made me grip him tighter and I had a vague thought about how far he was willing to take this as I felt the unmistakable brush of his hardness against mine. I pulled back, letting my hands drop to his chest to create some space.
His lips were swollen, eyes a little dark, but he was otherwise annoyingly calm. I was flustered, the line between real and fake being blurred so intensely in that moment.
“This might be a problem.”
He didn’t have to look down to know exactly what we both felt, “Only if you make it one.”
I shook my head, smacking his arm and squeezing myself out from between him and counter, “You’re insufferable.”
“You kissed me first,” he followed, stopping to grab two brownies out from the covered tray.
He followed me further down the counter, handing me one of the brownies and watching me with a vaguely amused look. I took a bite just to give myself something to do, staring at the floor and murmuring my thanks.
We just made out. We barely know each other. This is insane.
“You’ve been giving me an out this entire time but It looks like you might need one,” he took a slow bite of his own, clearly in no rush. “You’re thinking too hard about this.”
“You just kissed me stupid, give me a second.”
“You still kissed me first.”
“Are you seriously not letting that go?”
“No.”
He was so fucking smug. I hated and loved it at the same time. It made me want to kiss him again. I shoved the last of the brownie in my mouth, finally meeting his eyes and swallowing thickly.
“So, at the wedding, we’re not kissing like that.”
“Obviously, unless you plan on scarring your family,” he exhaled, sounding like a laugh. He crowded my space again, my brain going into overdrive at his heat and smell. “You specified ‘at the wedding’, which I find interesting.”
Aaron’s eyes flicked down to my mouth, leaning in and pressing a chaste kiss to my chocolate-flavored lips, then another, and another before pulling back. My eyes were still closed as he spoke, relishing the contrast of his gentle movements versus the intensity of before.
“We act normal. Just like that,” he smiled, grabbing another brownie and bringing it to my mouth.
“You’re way too chill about this,” I scoffed but took it from his hands.
“It’s more fun than I expected,” he shrugged. “Plus...I did mean it.”
I tilted my head questioningly.
“About the attraction. I was cautious of course last week because of my job, but I don’t know. After making sure you weren't a threat…I—” He paused, trying to figure out his next words, “You’re unfortunately magnetic.”
“So, what you’re saying is that my incessant text flirting worked?”
“Only a little,” he joked. “The cowboy outfit was the kicker for me.”
“Oh my God, stop!” I covered my face.
“What I’m saying is,” he laughed, prying my hands away from my face, “if you’re amenable of course—that maybe it doesn't have to be entirely fake.”
I feigned thinking, squinting one eye in thought, “So, this was a first date?”
“I think it was about three dates wrapped in one,” he pursed his lips.
“Well, I don’t put out on the third date, so it might be my time to leave,” I teased.
He just grinned, swooping in and claiming my lips. I decided then that the brownies tasted much better with him. I kissed him as fervently as I needed air to breathe, gasping as his hips ground softly into mine purposely.
It felt so good.
So good that by the fourth time it happened, I had to remove myself from him, “I was—mm—I was serious about the third date thing—as-as eager as I might be.”
Aaron nodded in understanding, chest heaving.
“And if you were serious before, I just-I just want to make sure, you know? If that’s okay?”
“Of course,” he smiled down at me, his reddened lips still so inviting but I needed to go before my resolve crashed and burned.
“I should go before it gets out of hand,” I smiled sadly, “but study up and keep those,” I pointed at the brownies. “Take them to work or something.”
“That’s probably for the best,” he cringed a little as he glanced down at the unruly bulge in his jeans. “You’re definitely not freaking out anymore,” he pointed out smugly.
I made some kind of noise. A flustered scoff? Panicked laugh? A dignified, manly squeak? I didn't know but I did know that if I stayed here any longer, we were either ending up in bed or I was leaving with soiled pants.
“Shut up,” I murmured, a smirk playing at my lips. “Mochi, it’s time to go home!” I called the puppy, leaning over and seeing her curled up on top of an afghan thrown over Aaron’s couch.
I clapped my hands together, her ears perking up as she stretched. Aaron didn't try to stop me as I gathered my belongings, just leaning back against the counter looking completely satisfied with himself. He met me at the door, opening it as I carried the sleepy puppy.
“Drive safe,” he said casually, voice warm and comforting. Before I could walk out completely, his fingers pinched the center of my shirt, guiding me backwards and pressing a gentle kiss to my lips. Then obnoxiously, “See you soon, boyfriend.”
“Good night, sweetheart,” I sassed back, running my shoulder straight into the doorframe on my way out.
-

Luckily, they had the shirt in his size and it came in a couple days before the wedding.
I rushed up to his apartment door, fully dressed for the wedding with the pink shirt in hand. The wedding wasn't far from here and it was still an hour before we needed to be there. I knocked frantically on the door, met with a still damp Aaron from the shower.
"Oh, I could get used to that sight," I commented appreciatively, looking at his bare chest and taking my sunglasses off.
"Are you sure it wasn't too much?" he asked about the shirt
"Hush, go get ready," I pushed him away by the chest.
He took advantage, tugging my arm to him so I would stumble forward into him. His hands grasped my hips immediately, lips finding mine easily in all the movement.
"Aaron," I murmured trying to get him moving. "You're wet."
"Mhm," he smiled into the kiss. “Just getting some practice in before showtime.”
I fought the urge to roll my eyes.
He finally let me go and took the shirt, shaking it out and nodding as he felt the material between his fingers.
When he came out of the room fully dressed, my jaw was on the floor looking at his form in a fitted navy suit. We were fucking matching.
"You are feeding my mother, I swear," I laughed. "We look like we're about to take engagement photos."
A satisfied smirk stretched over his face at my admiration. He strode forward but stopped short.
"Where's Mochi?" He frowned.
"Oh, she would cause mayhem. My neighbor is watching her."
"You trust your neighbor with her?"
"You're so perfect," I gushed, wanting to squeeze his face. Cute aggression, I swear. "Out the door, please," I waved him toward the front door.
I didn't know how I convinced him to let me drive, but he luckily backed off as soon as I started ranting about his alpha male need to control everything and that he probably took over driving everywhere at work.
"Just be a good little passenger princess," I settled my hand on his thigh as I took off.
"I don't always drive," he muttered under his breath.
"Somehow, I severely doubt that."
The country club was a short drive, allowing us to arrive fifteen minutes early before the actual wedding ceremony was due to start. We entered the country club, following the signs for the wedding outside. The reception would follow indoors. Several signs along the way instructed guests to turn their phones off, which Aaron hesitated to do.
"Just put it on silent or vibrate. They don't want all the aunties' phones in the photographers shots," I touched his wrist, seeing him contemplate. "If you're on call just do vibrate."
"I'm not technically, I just don't want to miss a call if they do. It's a little unpredictable."
"Whatever you do, do it fast," I wound my arm around his as I spotted my mother among my family.
I heard Aaron clear his throat and shove his phone in his pocket, plastering an award winning smile on his face.
“Oh, sweetie, you're here!” My mother ran up to me, nearly stumbling in her heels.
“Woah, careful,” I lunged, holding my hands out to catch her but Aaron was faster, grabbing her hands and stopping her forward momentum.
“Aaron, honey, how sweet are you?” she gushed, holding onto his forearms. “It's so nice to finally meet you.”
Aaron and I were dragged around to my family and he—unsurprisingly—remembered all of the information I had fed him. Throughout the ceremony, Aaron had his arm wrapped around me, hand resting on my lower back. It was strange being here with someone after expecting to be here by myself, but as I leaned my head on his shoulder I was glad it was Aaron I picked off the street. He caught me looking at him, giving me a soft smile and kissing my temple.
The ceremony was blissfully short as the afternoon sun started to heat up. I just about dragged Aaron inside after, eager to not sweat through this light-colored shirt.
The reception started off without a hitch. Aaron offered to drive while I had a few drinks—who was I to decline such an offer—and dancing commenced while we waited for the food.
Aaron begrudgingly danced with my mother—only to slow ones per his request—but he kept his awkwardness at being interrogated hidden well. When it was my turn to dance with my fake boyfriend, I did so happily, not one to complain about being close to Aaron.
Aaron’s hand was warm on my lower back as we swayed to the music. His thumb brushed small, lazy circles along my spine, and I was very much not immune to it.
"You're suspiciously quiet," I teased, tilting my head up to meet his gaze. "Having fun?"
"Something like that," he said, lips twitching in amusement.
"You're thinking about work, aren’t you?"
"No," he replied, then smirked. "I'm thinking about the conversation I just had with your mother."
I groaned, "Oh God. Do I even want to know?"
"Probably not," Aaron said, but the glint of humor in his eyes gave him away.
I gave his shoulder a light, playful shove. "Tell me."
He hummed, swaying us slightly to the left as another couple passed by. unable to resist, he pressed a quick kiss to my lips and continued speaking, "She asked when we were having kids."
I almost tripped over my own feet. My hand tightened on his bicep as I choked out, "She asked you what?"
"When we were having kids," he repeated, perfectly calm.
My mouth opened and closed, my brain short-circuiting. I finally sputtered out a laugh, "Jesus Christ, she didn't even ease into it?"
"Not even a little," he confirmed.
I tipped my head back with a groan, "Okay, well, the real question is—which one of us is gonna carry the baby to term?"
His lips twitched. "Hmm. Probably you."
"Excuse me?" I gave his shoulder a scandalized smack. "Why me?"
"You've got the instincts for it," Aaron said, voice low and teasing.
I blinked. My jaw dropped, "Did you just insinuate that I'm Mochi's mother? Because she knows damn well I'm her daddy."
Aaron’s shoulders shook with restrained laughter, "I'm just saying. You hover. You told me you checked her paws for three days straight when she yelped after stepping on a leaf."
"That’s called responsible pet ownership, Aaron. She’s just a baby."
"Mhm,” His thumb traced another slow circle against my back, and I absolutely did not shiver.
Nope, not at all.
We were both grinning like idiots when my mom passed by again, shooting us a look that said: You’re next.
Aaron leaned closer, voice low in my ear, "She seemed pretty convinced we're soulmates."
"Oh God. We are never gonna live this down."
"Probably not," he agreed.
"You're enjoying this way too much."
"I really am," he murmured, then kissed my temple.
I rested my forehead on his chest, laughing so hard I almost missed his hand tightening just slightly on my waist.
It was inevitable that I would have to run to the bathroom after several alcoholic beverages. I swayed slightly as I washed my hands, grinning at my own reflection. My face was warm, appearance slightly disheveled from dancing with Aaron, and my smile wouldn't go away—not that I wanted it to. I’d spent the better part of the afternoon glued to Aaron’s side while my family peppered him with questions. He’d taken it like a champ, even dancing with some of my aunts before my mother would steal him back, all while keeping his arm casually draped around me like we’d done this a million times.
Honestly, he was too good at this. I was beginning to suspect he actually enjoyed the chaos.
As I stepped back into the reception hall, the music thumped under my feet, mingling with the sound of clinking glasses and laughter. I scanned the crowd for Aaron’s broad shoulders, but before I could find him, my mom’s voice sliced through the noise.
"Who the hell are you, and why are you taking my son’s boyfriend?"
My heart just about stopped, what the fuck?
I turned toward the commotion and froze. Across the room, Aaron stood stiffly near the entrance with a vaguely exasperated expression, one I saw a handful of times on our date. My mother had one hand on her hip, the other gesturing toward a very well-dressed group of strangers attempting to pull Aaron toward the door.
"Ma'am," the oldest of the group spoke to my mother, holding his hands up in mock surrender. "I assure you, we come in peace."
"You're not answering the question," my mom snapped.
Oh, mom.
"He’s my ex," the man blurted out without missing a beat. His voice dropped into something heavier, "And I’ve come to win him back."
The entire room went silent. I swore someone actually gasped.
Aaron’s jaw twitched as his eyes found mine across the room. He looked annoyed, amused, and frustrated all at the same time.
"Your...ex?" my mom repeated, voice pitched with disbelief.
The man sighed, bowing his head like he was carrying the weight of an old, familiar pain.
"Yes. We were once...so much more," He lifted his eyes to the ceiling with a wistful expression, voice trembling just enough to sound authentic. "I gave him my heart, but he belonged to the world. And now, seeing him here..." He placed a hand over his chest. "It's like I’ve been wandering through a desert of loneliness only to find an oasis I no longer deserve."
Someone near me whispered, "That’s so beautiful."
My mom’s jaw slackened. "I...I don’t know what to say."
He continued, "Sometimes, the greatest act of love is letting go." He cast a mournful glance toward Aaron, "Even if it means watching the only man who ever understood me walk away with someone else."
A sniffle echoed from the corner. I glanced over and saw my cousin Vanessa—the bride—dabbing her eyes with a cocktail napkin.
I nearly fell over at the absurdity of it all.
"And these people?" my mom asked, voice cracking slightly as she gestured to the rest of the group.
The youngest man in the group awkwardly rose his hand, "We're, um..."
“We were in an polyamorous relationship—with Aaron,” a dark-haired woman spoke up.
A fit man with a shadow of a beard—damn he was hot, too—hid a laugh behind his hand while hiding his face behind the dark-haired woman.
My mother did not look impressed.
Meanwhile, Aaron stood there like a hostage, shoulders rigid and lips pressed into a thin line. I knew that look—he wore it when I ambushed him on the street—his I am using every ounce of my patience right now face.
I made my way toward the group just as my mom turned back to the older man.
"Listen here, buddy," she snapped, poking him in the chest. "I don’t care how much you still love him. He’s here with my son, and you’re not going to ruin this by dragging him off for some last-ditch romantic gesture."
Rossi gave her a deeply sympathetic look, "I—we just want to beg for another chance, ma'am."
The crowd melted.
Someone whispered, "That’s love."
Another person sobbed openly into their champagne flute.
By the time I reached Aaron's side, the tension had shifted. My mom was still skeptical, but several of my cousins were openly swooning at the spectacle.
I gave the crowd a tense smile as I approached, resting my hand on Aaron's upper arm and leaning in to his ear and whispering, “What the fuck is going on?”
The older man gave me a nod, lowering his voice, "We hate to break up the party, kid, but we need Aaron. Urgent case."
"Right," I said, suddenly more sober. He was needed, I could text him later.
The team ushered Aaron through the door to the sound of faint applause from the wedding guests.
I stood there, shaking my head at what the hell just transpired.
My mother actually wiped her eyes and sighed, "I'm so sorry, honey, I tried to stop them. I didn't realize he had so many partners before you.”
“Mom, those were his coworkers picking him up for an urgent issue.”
"Oh, sweetie," she said, patting my cheek. "You just don’t understand modern relationships.
Later that night I was sprawled over my couch, my mother having driven me home as I had a few more drinks to make up for Aaron’s absence. My guest room was prepared ahead of time, thankfully.
I groaned, loosening my belt lazily, still in my suit. I had gotten Mochi from my neighbor, needing my baby to ease the sing of Aaron’s depsrture. She lay across my lap, belly-up and snoring. My mom sat in my recliner, a glass of wine in hand now that she could decompress from the wedding.
“It was such a beautiful day,” she mused. “Until Aaron didn’t come back after that discussion with his exes,” she grumbled.
“Mom…” I groaned into a pillow. “Mom, they’re not his exes, they’re his team at work. They were messing with you.”
“Mmm,” she hummed, not sounding the slightest bit convinced.
The TV hummed in the background, low enough for us to ignore until I heard a familiar voice break through our conversation.
“…we were able to quickly apprehend the suspect and bring an end to these tragic events."
My mom gasped, leaning forward, "Oh, honey! Isn't that Aaron?"
I sat up so fast Mochi nearly flopped off my lap, and sure enough—there he was on the news, standing in front of a sheriff’s station with a microphone in his face. Same pink shirt. Same navy suit. Same faintly irritated expression.
"I told you he was working," I muttered, running a hand down my face. “All of a sudden you love him again,” I rolled my eyes.
"—ultimately, the case was resolved after it was determined that the suspect was, in fact, the sheriff," Aaron said, voice monotone and precise. "He left his own boot prints at three of the crime scenes and, when confronted, confessed almost immediately."
There was an awkward pause as reporters scribbled notes.
"Wait," one asked, "so it...was just the sheriff the whole time?"
"Yes," Aaron said.
"And he...admitted it right away?"
"Yes," Aaron repeated, slower this time. His jaw twitched in annoyance.
"So," the reporter pressed, "you flew in from Quantico...for that?"
The muscle in Aaron’s jaw jumped again, "Yes."
I barked out a laugh.
The camera zoomed out as Aaron stepped away from the microphones. His team followed closely behind, the blonde agent talking with the older agent animatedly. The last shot before the feed was cut off was Aaron rubbing his temples.
I shook my head and stood, scooping Mochi up under one arm, "I'm going to bed."
"Tell Aaron I said ‘hi’ next time you talk to him!"
"Mm-hmm." I carried Mochi toward my bedroom, but halfway there, my phone buzzed in my pocket.

I smiled, tucking my phone away again and held Mochi tighter.
I called back down the hallway, “Aaron says ‘hi’.”
“What a sweetheart. I really do like him, honey,” she called back.
“Yeah, me, too, Mom.”

"... and that's it for now! Thank you for attending today's schedule and can't wait to see you in a week! Prepare for some new concepts.. I can't wait to present them to you !"
And as soon as he stopped talking, you let out a heavy sigh, thinking that today is finally over. Though, you were actually really happy of today's schedule, because it was the first one of this month and the most important. You were a model at one of your boyfriends' friend, Seonghwa. He was working along with Hongjoong, his other half and they were rocking it ! The company got really well known in the past few weeks, which meant you had a lot more work to do than usual. This time, you hit the jackpot by having a photoshoot especially for DG, one of your favourite brands. It was a really nice opportunity, so you didn't pass on it. As soon as you told your boyfriends, they were really, really happy for you, knowing you've been trying for a while to get in touch with the brand ambassadors. But now? You might have been given an opportunity to become an ambassador yourself. You had to celebrate, so you talked with your boyfriends beforehand.
*the night before the schedule*
"Yunho, Mingi, how should we celebrate these great news? Should I treat both of you to some beef? I know you love it so I might as well treat you nicely. Both of you helped me so much in this career, I really want to make up for it ! Let's go for dinner together next week! My schedule will be pretty free, what do you think?" you looked excited at them, with puppy eyes and sincere thoughts.
"Yes babe, anything that makes you happy. We were absolutely thrilled to be able to help you !!" both said in unison, them coming closer to you to give you a biggg warm & tight hug. Both of your boyfriends giving you soft kisses on your forehead, you felt so safe with them and... blessed to have them.
*after the schedule*
"Hey, babe." Your boyfriends said, looking at you, smiling.
You definitely didn't expect them to come to your workplace unannounced but... you weren't complaining. After a hard day of work, you wanted to get a warm hug from both of them.
"Huh? what are y'all doing here, sweeties? I'm happy to see you though !!! I cant wait to show you some behind pictures of today !!!" you said excited, tugging at your boyfriends arms.
"Oh love, tell us more! Let Yunho drive today, you might be really tired from today's schedule! Go in the backseat, let me help you" Mingi said as he pushed forward the passenger front seat, helping you get into the car. Despite it's size, which is quite small, the backseat was pretty spacious. You usually used it to keep clothes and accesories, modelling attire such as make up, hair products and other related stuff, like books and papers with poses you could take inspiration from. But surprisingly, today it was pretty much... clean and free of the things you were used to? "Hm, maybe Mingi and Yunho cleaned my car for me, they have the spare key.... hm yeah, probably.." u thought to yourself, slightly smiling.
As you started to tell your boyfriends about your day, Yunho started driving. At first you were on your normal and well known route home, until you took a right turn. You didn't think much of it, as you trusted them with your life. Although you couldn't see anything through the backseat windows, cause you tinted them black, you weren't even 1 percent skeptical.
"Boys, were are we going?" you asked confused, but with a hopeful look in your eyes.
"Oh, this? we're taking a longer route home, I thought the weather is really nice, look at the starry night, too. I know a place" he said and then gassed the car, full speed, looking at you through the retrospective mirror.
You were relieved, its not like they ever gave you a reason to not trust them. As you started to slow down and came to a stop, Mingi and Yunho helped you get out of the car.
"Oh wow, the view is amazing! This parking lot...I remember it. It was still functioning when I was a kid. I wonder whn they abandoned it. I loved the fact tbat it was on 4 levels, I' d always go there to stargaze, alone." But now, you were with your 2 most loved people in your life, laying on the hard and cold concrete. You didn't care about anytbing at the moment, only the nice core memory you'd have later in your life of this exact moment.
*several minutes pass and you decide you want to go home and prepare for a photoshoot u had tomorrow*
"Hotties, lets get in the car. I'd like to try and arrive home and prepare for tomorrows schedule. I hope it s okay" you said, looking in their eyes.
"Oh babe....it's totally fine" said Mingi, looking right into Yunho's eyes.
"But...we 're not quite done with you for the night" continued Yunho, smirking.
"Uh what do you mean, babe?" u said confused, staring them up and down.
As you went in the car, they looked back at you, smiling contently. They knew something you didn't.
*several hours before leaving to get y/n*
"Bro we gotta do it man, she's always been reading these typa books and in the latest one she s read there's a car scene. I bet she'd be into that ! I fucking bet on it" said Mingi, excited as ever.
"Chill, we don't know yet. But... we could try...what could possibly happen? It's not like we'll force her, of course. We'll just tell her our own little thought about her favourite book."
*in the parking lot*
The boys were staring you down, their gaze darkening upon seeing your outfit. A black thight dress, the one you used for this photoshoot. A simple, mini corset dress, iconic for DG's catalogue. You felt so little under their eyes, the eyes that looked at you with so much love, thirst... lust. As you were looking at them, unaware of their intentions, they started talking.
"So... babe" Mingi started. "I've seen those... little books that you read and.. we'd like to fulfill one of the little scenes in the latest book you've been reading.. " he said, giving Yunho a sneaky lustful smile.
"Yeah, Mingi read some of the pages because he was bored, before we decided to come pick you up and... god damn.. when I tell you how turned on he was... we needed to wait for another few minutes before being able to go out" Yunho said, giving you an understanding of what happened beforehand. Then both of them leaned in from the front seats and Yunho continued:
"So...babe. What do you think? he said, both the boys smiling at you.
The fact is.. you've always been dreaming... fantasising about having sex with them like the one you read in your books... in the kitchen, in the bathroom... on a really nice balcony in Thailand... in a car. Your mind always goes to those places whenever you read the books... thinking of how good you'd take them right there and then. On your knees, sucking them on turns. Or on your fours... pounded by both.. in your little aching holes, begging for more.
As an answer, you leaned in a sloppy kiss with Yunho. The only thing blocking the two men from jumping on you were the front seats, which Mingi took care of in a second. You saw yourself surrounded by your boyfriends, the backseats extended to the max and the front seats pressed down halfway, to have space but at the same time to not be seen by anyone. You were.. thrilled. The look on their faces when they got to you and saw your whole outfit, scrunched up, your lace panties visible, formed a wet spot between your folds. As you were still making out with Yunho, the only noises being the lewd ones from your tongues, Mingi started working on your dress.
He zipped it down, untied the corset and slowly let it fall off your shoulders. He then tapped Yunho on the shoulder and as soon as he stopped kissing you, Mingi took you closer and pushed you on your back, on Yunho's lap. He then forcefully took the dress off, leaving you in only your panties and bra. Yunho had put his hand on your throat, nibbing on your bottom lip with his thumb while looking at how Mingi was tugging at your panties. You had a wet spot between your thighs, only by thinking about how you'd take them so nicely. Only the thought you had moments ago, of fucking them like in your little books turned you on so bad, your walls clenching on nothing, wanting them both inside you at the same time, destroying your insides. Mingi has been longing for this the whole night so he was the first one to act. He approached you, making out with you and while one of his hands went to your waist, to keep you still, the other one went right to your aching pussy, touching the wet fabric. Yunho, on the other hand, had one of his hands on your throat and one on your bra, tugging at it and playing lazily with your nipple.. You were squirming under Mingi, trying to get more friction of his hand between your thighs, but to not avail. You then put your hand on his bulge through his pants, feeling how big it had gotten in the span of a few minutes. You could feel his tip throbbing with every touch of yours. He took your panties off and looked at you, his gaze darkening upon seeing your wet cunt.
"Damn, babe... so wet for me.. for us." Mingi said and he then put one of his fingers inside you. He inserted another one... and another one. His girthy fingers were stretching you out so good... tears forming in the corner of your eyes. Right before Mingi went all in with his fingers, Yunho wiped your tears and got rid of your bra. You were now standing almost bare in front of your boyfriends which... happened pretty often but.. today? You felt so little in front of them. You wanted to anything and everything they'd make you to do that night. And you were about to obey.
"Mingi.. let me help you out a bit" Yunho said and, while one of his hands was still on your throat, his other hand went straight to your boyfriend's pants. He unbuttoned and pulled them down, only to be able to see his stretched out boxers from his throbbing and aching hard cock. Yunho backed off and took your hand in his, guiding you to touch Mingi's boxers, now wet from his pre cum. He groaned at the feeling of your little fingers fondling with his tip through the wet cloth, his fingers now deep down in your pussy, touching your sweet spot. Yunho put his hand on your clit and started lazily rubbing circles on it, enjoying how you squirmed above him and his crotch, making his pants feel even tighter.
You felt like you could come only from the view you had. You felt overstimulated, but it was so good. Yunho had one of his hands on your throat and one on your clit, Mingi had one of his hands deep down in you, touching your cervix and playing with your g spot and one on your waist, while you had one of your hands rubbing Mingi's dick through the cloth and with the other one holding on for dear life on the seat.
"Okay.. Mingi, you had your way until now, back off for a moment" Yunho said in a strong tone, the other boy looking at him and pouting.
"Cmon man, look at my fucking dick, for fucks sake" he said whining.
"Mingi. I said something" Yunho said right before pushing you on your chest, one hand on your ass, tugging at your panties and the other one on your neck, keeping you down, right on Mingi's abs. You could feel the wet spot Mingi's pre cum made on his boxers right on your cheek, the boy flinching at your touch.
"Ass up, babe. Let me take off your panties" Yunho said and slid them off in a second, leaving you bare right in front of him. You couldn't see what he was doing but you could feel and hear. He took Mingi's hand and put it on your neck then used that hand to rub your wet and dripping cunt, while his other hand went to his pants, stripping them halfway only to be able to take his throbbing and angry dick out. He put two of his fingers in, prepping you for his enormous length, like he always does. As soon as he took them out and moved that hand to your waist, he flipped you on your back, moving your legs to his waist and stopping for a moment.
"Mingi, put a hand on her mouth, please. It's been a while since I've last fucked her this hard" he said and as soon as he finished talking he rubbed the tip of his leaking cock on your folds, up and down, a second later pounding into you. When he bottomed out, he let out a sigh of relief and you let out a loud muffled moans and cries.
"M-mingi.. what are you d-doing?" You tried to say, words muffled by your boy's hand, trying to look up at him. He was lazily stroking his throbbing length with his other hand, looking at you with so much lust... he would've destroyed you right there and then.
"Yunho, could you maybe.. please, f-flip her o-over? I'm going fucking crazy over here just looking at you fucking her ! " Mingi said angrily, tapping Yungo on his shoulder.
"Fine" he said and in an instant you were back on your belly, Yunho's cock rubbing on your ass and Mingi's dick on your lips. They gave each other a look and both of them went in at the same time, receiving a loud choked moan from you. Mingi's hand on your hair and Yunho's on your waist, you were being manhandled by your two darlings. You felt overstimulated, overwhelmed but it was so good..you could feel your legs shaking under you as well as your hands, trying to keep yourself on your elbows but to no avail. Mingi was holding on your hair and keeping your head up so you could suck and lick his length how he always liked it. You started from the tip, giving small sloppy kisses, then slowly licking down to the base of his cock. Then Mingi would usually take your hair in his fist and deep throat you, as he was doing now. when he bottomed out in your throat, he stayed like that for a few moments, letting you adjust to his length hitting the back of your throat. Tears were already swelling in your eyes, especially because of the fact that Yunho was pounding into your cunt like he hasn't fucked you in ages. As soon as he saw a tear of yours fall on Mingi's thigh, Yunho put his hand underneath your chin and wiped it, approaching you with soft, light kisses on your spine. He was slowing down his thrusts but he went deeper and deeper with every single one, his tip touching your cervix.
"Damn babe... you feel so f-fucking good.. all stretched out for me. Come on, hang on for juuust a little longer, I'm so close... Mingi looks like he's out of it, too" and he was right. Sweat was dripping off of his forehead, his throbbing tip twitching with every lick of your tongue, his grip on your hair starting to get tighter, him forcing his way deep down your throat and not even being able to look you in your eyes. He always said that if he sees you in that position, he'd cum instantly at how beautiful you looked, taking him so good.
"Babe if you keep doing this I'll come right down your throat" Mingi said between the pumps. All the lewd sounds you were making were sending shivers down both boys spines, Yunho's thrusts started getting sloppier, heavier, deeper. They didn't have any rythm anymore. You were squirming, breathing heavily under Yunho and slightly choking on Mingi's dick, his girth and length stretching your mouth so good, leaving you no room to breath. You were so dizzy, barely standing on your knees. Yunho was trying to hold you up, himself being weak, feeling how he'd come at any moment.
"Babe, I can't hold much longer" Yunho said and with a few more thrusts he came in you, bottoming down so you could take his cum all up in your hole. Mingi was also close, his hand shaky on your hair and with a few more deep thrusts down your throat he also came, raising his brows at you to let you know that he wants you to swallow every drop.
The boys slowly helped you off and put you on the seat, looking you up and down, trying to find any sign of discomfort after all what happened moments before. You could feel how Yunho's cum was dripping out of you, right on the seat. But it turned you on so bad, you wanted to jump on him and suck him good.
"Babe, everything good? Are you feeling okay? Were we too.. harsh?" Yunho said, looking at your tired eyes and rubbing your thighs slowly.
"Yeah, babe. Everything good?" Mingi said, giving you soft kisses on your forehead.
"Yes, of course. I am a bit dizzy but it was... incredible" you said, smiling at them.
The boys had other plans.
"Well... in that case." Mingi said, pushing you over. "Let me have my fun, I didn't yet fuck you tonight". He said looking a Yunho, raising his eyebrow at him, giving him a good idea.
"So babe... we haven't done this in a while... what do you think of both me and Mingi fucking you at the same time, hm? he said, smiling playfully and carresing your cheek.
"B-babe.. d-do you think it would work? Even though I'd love to... what if it's too much?" You said, staring him down.
"Oh, yeah? We'll see about that, darling." and in a moment you were laying back on Mingi's torso, your ass aligned to his crotch and Yunho admiring the view. Mingi's once again hard dick was twitching with every slight move of yours, pressing down on your folds. Yunho on the other hand, was looking at the two of you, smiling at the flustered faces y'all had because of the sudden position change.
"Mingi"
"You may.. start" Yunho said and right after Mingi inserted his cock in your ass, slightly moving so you could adjust to his size, Yunho didn't hesitate and pressed down on your throat, the other hand on your right leg, bringing himself closer to you with every thrust of his. You didn't yet come tonight, feeling a bit overwhelmed some moments ago from all the force they were using on you, but you weren't far either. You could feel a knot forming in your belly with every thrust of theirs, leaving out some lewd and muffled moans and whimpers. It hurt, but.. the feeling of closure, both of them thrusting into you like they never fucked you, manhandling you. Mingi's hands on your breasts, fondling with your nipples and Yunho's on your thighs, dragging himself closer with every thrust.
"B-babe, you h-avent finished yet. Are we not good to you, love?" Yunho said, admiring the view in front of him, tears falling off your face with every full thrusts of both guys. Right after wiping your tears, he backed off and left you in surprise.
"Wh-what are you doing? Why did y-you stop, Yuyu?" you said, trying to catch your breath, whinning at your ruined orgasm.
He was looking at you with so much thirst, so much lust. He wanted to eat you as a whole right there and then, but hold himself back.
"Beg. You were close, right? Beg for it. Mingi, stop for a moment." Yunho said and Mingi did as he wanted and stopped thrusting. He made you cockwarm him, there was no friction between the two of you.
It's not like they weren't close to finishing... but they already did once and Yunho wanted to play with you. He always did that, didn't matter the circumstance. And... you loved every second of it.
"Babe. please. I was really close, Yuyu." you pleaded, looking him. You went in for a kiss, Mingi leaving a soft moan at you moving suddenly on his cock to get closer to Yunho's face. He accepted the kiss, his hand going straight to you clit, rubbing circles on it. All you could hear was Mingi's soft whimpers while you were slowly moving on top of him, without Yunho seeing you and your own lewd sounds.
You moved one of your hands on Yunho's dick and as you felt you were both close, you wanted to also help Mingi so you got up and moved his cock to your folds, sliding it right in. You flinched at the sensation, both boys touching you. Yunho twitched when u squeezed his tip as Mingi first thrusted into you, leaving out a small whimper. You loved when he whimpered... he didn't do it often and it turned you on so bad, you felt like you'd cum only by hearing him let out pleasure sounds.
"Yuyu.. I'm really close -" you said, trying to catch your breath.
"M-me too" he said, going in for yet another kiss and closing the space between your bodies so you can stroke his dick better and deeper, down to the base of it. You were rubbing circles right on his tip, receiving some soft whimpers from him.
You could feel the yet again knot forming in your belly, now being closer to bursting than ever.
"B-babe" you tried to say.
"Yes, love?" Yunho said, himself close to finishing but keeping his composure.
"I - I need to-" you tried to say but couldn't finish the sentence.
"Hm? What did you say babe? Use your words, pretty" Mingi said, leaving you whining for their movements.
"P-please, fuck me harder. I need to feel both of y-you !" you said with all your power before falling on Mingi's chest, feeling dizzy from everything happening.
"See babe? wasn't that hard, was it?" Yunho said and gave Mingi a look and both started thrusting wildly into you.
Moments later you felt the heat in you burst and also felt how you were getting filled up by both boys, ceasing their movements slowly to come down from their highs.
"Oh, my god. Boys... this was. I don't have words" you said slowly, still feeling dizzy and weak.
"How was it, hm? Did you enjoy it? We sure... did." Yunho said as he looked at Mingi, seeing how flushed his cheeks were.
"Mingi, did you like it?" He said playfully.
"Y/n, we should do this more often. To be honest with you, before we left home we didn't even think of doing this. It was all Yunho's idea right after you said you were doing okay after all everything. He just went for it and I fucking loved it. God damn, I was so horny before we left, we ended up leaving 10 minutes later cause I had to bust one. You should've seen Yunho's face, he was laughing so hard at me !" the boy said, whinning.
"I can imagine" You said laughing.
"So..when do you finish.. work next week? We can come pick you up with Mingi's car. It's... more spacious. What do you think, mm?" Yunho said, stroking your cheek with his hand.
"Babe! We said we'd get dinner next week!"
"Yes but... what did I say wrong? You're so fucking beautiful, I can't just eat with you that night... we'll need to also eat you out." He said, gave you a kiss and then left Mingi to help you dress, while he went back in the driver's seat to start the car.

Chapter 1
The world slows when you’re dying. The mind struggles to grasp anything tangible. Staring up at the blur of blue and white, I knew I was slipping away, fading into nothing, just like my mother. Bitten by an alpha, she changed, presented as an alpha herself. My father put her down before she could turn feral. That sent Basil into a frenzy. He nearly killed our father. He would have if I wasn’t in the room. It didn’t matter if alphas and betas were at war. It didn’t matter if our mother was the enemy; to us, she was just mom.
Basil might have aided the humans in the war if it hadn’t been for our mother’s murder. His need for vengeance was too great. Omegas are a rarity nowadays. The news is a montage of horror, always reporting on how many alphas turned humans. Omegas were already a dying species, but with the war, so were the alphas. My brother feared if I was bitten, that our father would murder me as well. Basil always joked that I was like mom, stubborn. Maybe I should have listened to him when he told me to stay home. Maybe if I hadn’t gone searching for him when he didn’t come home last night, my hand wouldn’t be sticky with my own blood.
A hiss followed by a low whine escaped my lips as my hand pressed into the wound on my side. I had to get home. What if Basil returned after I left? He would never know what happened to me; no one would. Well, no one except the guy who shot me.
SNAP.
My head rolled to the side, peering through the trees. Details were a blur, but I was able to make out blotches of color. I squinted my eyes, dirt and rocks stabbing my cheek, reminding me I wasn’t dead yet. My chest heaved as the trees danced before me.
SNAP.
This time the noise was closer. Whatever was coming to finish me off didn’t care about being caught. It wasn’t like I could defend myself if I tried. I hoped it was just an animal or somehow my brother had magically found me; the sane part of my brain screamed that it was the person who shot me.
It was none of the above.
A warm hand settled on my shoulder. I could feel the heat seep through the sleeve of my crimson-stained t-shirt. Blinking slowly at the person crouched beside me, I wanted to speak, but my lips weren't moving. His were. Whatever he was saying, I couldn't make out. I was too stunned to attempt to read his lips, but I knew he was non-threatening. If he wanted to kill me, he wouldn’t-
A shrill scream reverberated through the woods.
My chest burned from the inside out, and I knew that scream came from me. With slow movements, I gazed down at my stomach. One of the stranger’s hands sealed over my own. The other held my chin, blood coating both of his hands. I tried to follow the pink of his lips, to make sense of anything he was saying. I strained to focus on the yellow of his hair or the blue orbs observing my every move. In the end, my eyes flapped shut.
Searing pain dashed up my right arm drowning out any other pain. Just as quickly as it emerged, it evaporated. Suddenly my lungs were flooded with oxygen, my breath livelier than before. Fresh linen suffocated my nostrils. Had I died? The lids of my eyes tremored before springing open. For the first time, I could see him clearly. His slicked-back yellow hair paled into champagne. His slightly overgrown beard was several shades darker. His nostrils flared.
“Omega,” the man purred.
My eyes latched on his piercing stare. Amid his blue eyes were flecks of green. He was gorgeous. I was the first to break eye contact, my focus glued to my arm. Teeth marks tattooed on the inside of my wrist. Panic invaded all of my senses. Basil’s worst fears were coming true right before my eyes.
“You were dying-” the man trailed off. “It won't scar.”
“You expect me to thank you?” I snarled.
He shook his head, running his dry, blood-stained fingers through his hair. “I wasn’t trying to turn you. I was trying to lure the betas away. You got mixed in the crossfire.”
I wanted to ask if he had been the one to shoot me, but from what I could tell, he wasn’t carrying a gun. His back straightened as he scanned the trees. I didn’t see anything, but his body language turned alert. Danger was approaching.
“What’s your name?”
He stared down at me for a moment before responding, “Steve. Steve Rogers. You?”
I stretched my scarlet hand towards him. “Y/N L/N. Thank you.”
Steve paused with a raised eyebrow, gently shaking my hand. “We have to go. You’ve lost a lot of blood.” He didn’t wait for an answer; Steve thrust my hands back against the hole in my side. “Keep pressure on the wound.” Then he was hoisting me up. Once again, my world was spinning. My head relaxed against his collarbone. The scent of fresh linen was more prominent but far from unpleasant. My muscles went limp, too relaxed to hold onto the man carrying me. Steve tensed, his grip tightening around my back and legs. A deep rumble ricocheted beneath my head, but I couldn’t make out what Steve said. How much blood did I lose? A drop of liquid sprinted from my scalp to the collar of my t-shirt. With a shaky hand, I wiped the fluid from my forehead. It was clear. Was I sweating? My palm lazily rested against Steve’s chest in an attempt to ground myself. I would have retracted my hand had I been stronger. The heat radiating from his chest was scorching. It was then that I realized I was burning up. His name was on the tip of my tongue. I wasn’t sure what I would say, but I hoped he would somehow understand. I never got to find out. His name never left my lips. My eyelids grew heavy, welcoming the darkness.
The next time I opened my eyes, I was blinded. A string of recessed lights hovered above me. Harsh blue lights beat down on my skin, reminding me of how my skin burned. I felt drenched, but this time, I was cool. Sinking my palms into the surface beneath me, I realized I was lying on a mattress. Sitting upright, something slipped from my arms. Reaching over the side of the bed, I hissed, pain radiating from my side.
“Take it easy,” a thick Russian accent uttered. “You don't want to tear stitches.”
With a hand over my stitches, I scanned the room for the voice. When I came up empty, I panted, rolling myself onto my back.
“Where am I?”
I jumped as a raven-haired woman suddenly appeared crouched beside the bed. Her piercing blue eyes were cold, unlike the man who saved me. Steve. Where was Steve?
“Medical wing,” the woman answered, plucking a damp cloth from the floor and dropping it on my arm. “Keep this on. It will stop fever.”
I blinked at the woman as she examined my wrist. She was tall and slender. Her jaw was as sharp as a razor, a stark contrast to her soft plump lips. Taking a deep breath, I was met with lavender. It was soothing yet sweet.
“You’re an omega?”
She hummed, dropping my hand a bit harsher than necessary.
“Who are you? Where’s Steve?” I croaked.
Her sharp eyes stared down at me with a lifted brow. She didn’t seem to want to be here anymore than I did.
“You talk a lot, no?”
Fuck this. I have to go home. I need to find Basil. Sitting up ignoring my groans of pain, I began yanking all of the damp rags from my skin. It’s not like they could keep me here. The corners of the woman's lips twitched as she folded her arms across her chest and stepped back. She wasn’t going to stop me. Swinging my legs over the side of the bed, my bare feet hit the black tile. A cramp shot through my abdomen, strong enough to bring me to my knees had I not been holding onto the bed. Sweat began to bead along my forehead. I was lightheaded. Not again.
Before I could faint, an arm swooped around my back, guiding me onto the bed. Once again, I was draped in rags.
“You’re a stubborn little omega.” I would have snapped had it not been for the smile in the woman's tone. It reminded me of every time my brother had called me stubborn. In a way, it was soothing. “I’m Carla.” She paused, eyeing the shut door. “You don’t want to see that mutt right now. You’re in heat. Happens when you present.”
“But Steve-”
“Is mutt like rest of alphas around an omega, especially one in heat.” There was a bite in Carla’s tone. “If you want to leave, I won't stop you but trust me when I say you are better off here. Omegas are difficult to come by and you are already weak from gunshot. You’ll be claimed second you step out that door.”
My head reeled from all of the information. I wasn’t oblivious to the alpha and omega lifestyles, but I never intended to partake in it. My eyes flickered to the mating gland along her neck. Sensing my stare, she flipped her long hair over her shoulder, concealing her gland. It was too late.
“You haven’t been claimed.”
The look in Carla’s eyes was murderous, her words a warning, “Mind your business, omega. You are patient, not me. I am helping you, not other way around. Remember that.”
I did. For the next week, while I was trapped in a delirious state, I relied on Carla. She was the only person to visit me in the medical room. It had been her delivering food or redressing my bandages. I began to crave her presence, but we rarely spoke. The observation I had made had struck a chord, a weak spot. Every time Carla entered the room, she appeared more on edge than the day before. I contemplated apologizing for bringing up what appeared to be a sore subject for her, but she didn’t seem like the type to dwell on something like that.
When my heat was finally over, Carla left the door unlocked. Her speechless way of allowing visitors or letting me wander. I opted for the latter. After several twists and turns, I discovered a door leading outside. Careful not to pull my stitches, I sprinted out the door. After being trapped in a room for a week, I was desperate to feel the sun on my skin again. Standing in an open field, I spun around taking in everything. A few feet away was a forest. Was it the one I had been dying in? How far was I from home?
“Hey, you’re up.” A shoulder bumped into my own. “How are you feeling?”
Fresh linen.
A smile crept onto my lips, my neck craning up to Steve. “Well, I’m alive.”
Steve nodded. “I can see that.”
“Thank you again, for saving me. I would have died out there if you hadn’t found me.”
Steve shook his head, his thumbs peeking from the pockets of his slacks. “You almost died because of me. That bullet was meant for me.”
Turning back to the line of trees, I shrugged off his last statement. I needed to focus on the positive. I was alive. It didn’t stop my curiosity from slipping into the front of my brain. “When you found me, you said you were drawing humans away.”
The man nodded, running a hand through his sandy blonde hair. “A friend of mine, Bucky, went missing. I was out searching for him when I came across you.”
Steve stood there with a far-off look in his eyes. I hadn't missed the sadness that crossed his face. His eyes searched the horizon with a sense of urgency as if the person or object he was searching for was the most important thing in the world.
“Your friend,” I paused, side-eyeing him, “did you find him?”
Steve shook his head, his eyes still trained on the forest. “Your arrival hasn’t exactly permitted me to travel.” The tips of his ears dusted a shade of pink.
I blushed at the idea of sending a man like Steve Rogers into a rut. Surely, he was mated.
“Sorry for leaving you with Carla. We don't have many omegas here. I can't imagine she was cordial the entire time.”
Remembering Carla’s comment, I gently rested a hand on Steve’s bicep. My hand dwarfed in comparison to the muscle beneath my hand. Steve’s head snapped in my direction.
“Omegas are rare, but she isn’t mated,” I pointed out.
Peaking over his shoulder toward the door, Steve released a deep exhale. “Her true mate rejected their bond. By the time she had found him, he already had a family. Didn’t want to break up the only family his pups knew.”
My hand slipped from his bicep as guilt washed over me. My head drooped to stare at the ground. Had I known, I wouldn’t have said anything to her about being unclaimed. It was a personal topic. Suddenly, a feather-light touch seized my chin, dragging my head upwards. My eyes locked on Steve’s deep blue orbs instantly.
“Don’t worry, she found another mate. One who wants her. My friend Bucky.”
“The one who is missing,” I asked, but I already knew the answer. No wonder Carla was on edge. Her mate was missing. Yet, I couldn’t help but think back to her smooth mating gland. Her mate had yet to claim her.
Steve nodded.
Subconsciously, I ran a hand along my mating gland. “And where is your mate?”
Steve released my chin as if I had burned him. His gaze returned to the trees. I should have learned my lesson from Carla. I should have minded my business, but I needed to know.
“My true mate,” Steve began, surprising me. I didn’t think he would answer. I followed his line of sight, giving him a sense of privacy, but my ears remained open. Steve continued, “was Peggy. She tried to put an end to the war. She’s dead now.”
There it was. I had once again managed to put my foot in my mouth. “I'm sorry.” I didn’t know what else to say. I hadn’t known the pain of losing a true mate, but I knew love and I knew loss. It couldn’t be much different.
The atmosphere grew still as Steve lapsed into a prolonged silence. The only sound was the rustling of the leaves in the light breeze. His face turned skyward, allowing his long eyelashes to kiss his high cheekbones for a split second. Then his hand intertwined with mine, pulling me down to sit beside him in the grass.
“What were you doing in the woods when I found you?”
I had to bite my tongue from saying I was dying. It wasn’t appropriate after he opened up about his true mate. He was trying to change the subject, so I was honest. I pressed my chin to my chest, plucking at the grass beside me. “I was looking for my brother. I have to find him.”
A painful smile graced Steve’s lips. “I guess we're both looking for someone.”
While the statement was innocent, there was a longing in the way he said it. We both needed a mate.
“Yeah, I guess we are,” I whispered.

Is she alright?”
“It appears so. There's no visible injuries or anything. Breathing seems...normal. Heart rate...should be fast…”
The [h] haired female flickers her eyes open, only to find herself surrounded by two unfamiliar faces. She sat up and rubbed her sore head.
“You’re awake.” The dirty blonde smiled with relief. “Are you unharmed? No pain anywhere? Or any discomfort?”
The female shook her head. The dirty blonde gently placed his hand on her forehead to check the temperature, “Ah. You seem perfectly healthy even after we found you lying on the ground surrounded by Waffle bots, but luckily Black Raisin Cookie was able to save you before you were attacked.”
“...”
“Where are you from? Are you a roving traveler from afar or something?” The female, known as Black Raisin Cookie, asked the female with suspicion in her voice.
The female looks down, “...I don't remember…”
The dirty blonde frowned, “So you don't know why you're here, where you're from, or who you are…”
“...Unfortunately…no.”
“Then, you don't mind if we call you Rover until you find out your name or maybe we can give you a name when we figure out what's best for you.” The dirty blonde stated. The female nodded with understanding.
The pure blonde smiled, “Good. Oh, I'm Healer Cookie and this is Black Raisin Cookie. She's rather protective of the village and always harsh towards outsiders who didn't eat raisin buns, but don't worry, she's not a bad person. She's just doing what's best to protect the village.”
“Healer Cookie…” Black Raisin blushed. Healer chuckled at the female’s embarrassment then returned his attention back to Rover, “Are you hungry? You look like you haven't eaten. Raisin buns are the only thing we have, hope you don't mind.”

Rover sat on the log, gazing up at the sky, awaiting the villagers to bring her bun. While admiring the scenery, she noticed something floating in the sky. It was partially covered by clouds, making it difficult to sight.
“Sorry for the wait,” Healer apologized as he offered a raisin bun to Rover. Without hesitation, the [h]-haired rover took a bite. The taste was unexpectedly peculiar.
“Is it good?” Healer asked.
➤ ❝It tastes really weird, but I’ll take it.❞
The dirty blonde chuckled. “You’ll get used to it. It’s good enough for Black Raisin Cookie to trust you.”
➤ ❝It tastes really good.❞
Healer Cookie smiled. “I’m glad you like it. That means Black Raisin Cookie will trust you.”
“What do you guys do daily here?” Rover asked.
“Oh, well, we fight waffle bots that have recently started appearing. I'm not sure where they come from, but I'm afraid the situation might worsen.” Healer frowned as he sat next to Rover, setting his staff aside. “I have to heal the villagers who suffer injuries. There are only seven of us here in this abandoned village, including the crows. They rely on me for healing.”
“...”
“To be honest, just like you, I lost my memories too,” Healer revealed. “I can't remember who I was or how I got here. But I was lucky that Black Raisin Cookie and the others found me.”
“I feel like I was doing something important, but I'm not sure what. Whatever it was, I kept hearing voices in my head, calling my name.”
“...Maybe it’s telling you something?” Rover said, finishing the last bite of the bun.
Healer hummed, looking up at the sky. “Perhaps…”
The dirty blonde noticed crumbs on Rover’s face and let out a soft chuckle. “For a rover, you sure are a messy eater.”
“Hm?” Rover tilted her head. Healer reached out and wiped the crumbs off her face with his sleeve. “Even if you don’t like it, it's hard to resist, isn’t it?”
Before Rover could respond, a mob of waffle bots surrounded them. Healer stood up, holding his arm out protectively in front of Rover.
“Don’t worry, allow me to handle this,” Healer said, grabbing his staff. He was a healer, but—
In a flash, Rover attacked the waffle bots with her sword, catching Healer by surprise. He watched as Rover swiftly cut them down.
“Are you unharmed?” Rover asked, snapping Healer out of his thoughts.
Healer nodded. “O-oh, yes. I’m unharmed.”
Rover sighed with relief, sheathing her sword. Healer couldn't help but admire her skill. “You were amazing! Even with lost memories, you still remember how to fight!”
“Where did I learn this…?” Rover muttered, noticing a mark on the back of her hand. It had been there for a while, but she never questioned it.
Healer gently clasped her hands, examining the bruises on her palms. “You’re hurt. Allow me. Remove your gloves, please.”
As Healer asked, Rover removed her gloves and placed her hands in his. Light flowed over them, showcasing Healer's power. When the light faded, so did her bruises. Rover stared in awe.
“Amazing. It feels… warm…” Rover blinked.
Healer smiled warmly. “Thank you.”
“Healer Cookie! Are you alright?! I heard the waffle bots attacked—” Black Raisin paused upon seeing the pile of destroyed bots. “I see you've already taken care of them.”
“Rover did it. She have impressive skills,” Healer praised.
“She did this?” Black Raisin turned to Rover, eyes wide.
“...” Rover nodded.
“Hm… did she really eat the raisin bun?” Black Raisin asked with suspicion.
➤ ❝It was really bad, but I couldn’t refuse. Hunger won.❞
Black Raisin crossed her arms. “Huh. Even as a picky eater, you still ate it.”
➤ ❝It was really good. Hard to resist.❞
Black Raisin chuckled. “It’s one of the best in the village. We love it.”
“I accept you into the village. You ate the raisin bun and protected Healer from the waffle bots. With you here, it'll be much easier to handle them,” Black Raisin stated. “So… welcome to the village.”
Healer clasped his hands together. “See? I told you Black Raisin is kind-hearted. She’s just protective of her village.”
Black Raisin and her crow blushed. “Healer…!”
“It's getting late. We should head back to the tent,” Healer chuckled. He turned to Rover. “[Y], you can stay in my tent.”
Rover blinked. “[Y]...?”
“It’s your name. I've been thinking about it. Hope you don't mind.” Healer grinned. “It has a special meaning.”
Rover repeated the name under her breath. She liked it. She nodded. “I accept the name.”
The dirty blonde clapped his hands. “Wonderful! Let's head back. You might catch a cold.”
“Don’t worry about me. I'll keep watch,” Black Raisin said before leaving.
Healer waved. “Good luck. Be careful.”
“Let's go, [Y],” Healer smiled.
No response.
“[Y]...?” He looked over his shoulder to see Rover staring at the glowing mark on her hand.
His voice pulled them from her thoughts. “[Y]...? Are you alright?”
“Sorry. I was zoning out,” [Y] apologized before following Healer.
