Bucci Gang Edition

TW: nothing too extreme, just a little bit of hurt/comfort stuff sprinkled right here and there.

Bruno Bucciarati

► Bucciarati typically doesn't stay up late at night, he has work and would squeeze all the amount of sleep he can get on his free time.

► Unless he has a lot of things in mind.

► It doesn't matter whether it's a work-related problem, his past, a random thought, or just generally his worries about his future. It will keep him up.

► He'll definitely need someone to be an outlet but if no one's available, he'll just stare at the night sky and distract himself with the moving clouds or finish some of his work until he's too tired to think of anything.

► If you happen to be in the same situation and same place that night though, then make sure that you take care of the trust he has for you when he was at most vulnerable and he will do same with you.

► I personally headcannon Bucciarati to be the type to like those kind of conversations since i highly doubt that he has been so vulnerable in front of anyone besides Abbachio ever since he joined the mafia.

► And even then, he's mostly the one who lifts the spirits up and not the other way around since he's the leader.

► So expect to hear things and words you wouldn't expect to come from the Bucciarati you see everyday come spilling out of his mouth, it'll be a lot.

► Pat his back or better yet, give him a hug and brush his hair while doing so. He needs it a lot since he hasn't really got one after his family fell apart.

► "I feel so much better now, thank you. I'll make sure not to forget about this night. "

Leone Abbachio

► The night owl of the gang.

► Staying up until 3AM is nothing new to this man, hell, he could even go on a whole day without sleep if he has a lot of things that's bothering him.

► He's the opposite of Bucciarati, he prefers to shoulder his intrusive thoughts alone. It'd take some great amount of effort and trust to make him talk and let it out.

► What he does during those times is either using his stand to replay certain memories that could either worsen his guilt or put him at ease, or just drink until he passes out but most of the time, he does both.

► He could also be listening to some music while he does so but if he's feeling guilty for making Bucciarati concerned about his frequent drinking, then he'll just listen to music and hope that he'll fall asleep and not just keep his eyes closed until the sun rises.

► It works, kind of, but even without alcohol driving him to sleep, he'll always be tired. His sleeping schedule is seriously messed up because he never really cared about it in the first place.

► Would sometimes go out for a walk. Leone is fond of the city's peacefulness when everyone is asleep, with the only thing keeping him accompany is the cold air and the dim light of the lampposts.

► Secretly still has his police uniform and would occasionally take it out just to stare at it or talk to it in a not-so-kind of way as he sees his younger self in it.

► Gets dragged in whatever shit Narancia and the others are up to if he gets spotted. Mostly it's just for a movie night behind Bucciarati's back but Abbachio knows better and expects the unexpected when it comes to the gang.

► Knows what everyone does in late night if they're still up and has seen a lot of ungodly sights.

► Whether it be seeing a sleepy Mista and the pistols chanting a weird prayer to a bowl of cereals or Fugo being dragged out of his room by Narancia, Leone knows it.

Pannacotta Fugo

► Just like Bucciarati, Fugo rarely stays up late at night and if he does, it's usually just because he's busy.

► Fugo has hobbies like painting and reading, everyone in the gang knows that. It's just that he gets carried way too far sometimes and loses track of time.

► Who could blame him though when the book he's reading is just too interesting or the painting he's currently working on is almost done, right?

► On extremely rare occasions where something unpleasant enough to keep Fugo up at night happens, he'll bundle himself in his fluffy blanket like a butterfly in its cocoon.

► He always does this back when he's still living with his parents, it makes him feel safe from anything that's haunting him.

► And if it's neither his hobbies or problems that's keeping him up, he'll just hear Narancia whispering outside his door or Mista throwing pebbles at his window.

► For the first few times the duo did this, Fugo was still able to resist until he just can't anymore knowing that they wouldn't leave him alone all night.

► "Well, this isn't so bad. "

► He says as he enthusiastically tosses a popcorn into his mouth with his eyes glued all over the lit screen of the TV.

► Movie nights, along with sneaking out to go the nearest convenience store, became a common thing between the Torture Dance Trio™ ever since then.

Narancia Ghirga

► The type to wake up in the middle of the night and think "Hmm... Everyone's asleep, let's commit robbery tonight!"

► Fugo's sleep paralysis demon.

► Would literally not hesitate to steal chocolate bars with Mista and probably does 3AM challenges with him too.

► Never runs out of ideas to keep himself up at night and is the one who comes up with everything but what he does still depends on his mood.

► If Narancia's feeling a little too lazy then he'll just sleep and most of the time, with music keeping him accompany. But unlike Abbachio, he purposely doesn't wear headphones just to annoy Fugo whose room is right next to his.

► If he's feeling like it, he'll straight up just invite the others to watch a movie or play videogames even though Bruno has already made it clear not to use the TV after 11PM.

► But just as he likes staying up at night doing crazy things with the boys, he also uses his energy left and free time to self-study, as surprising that may sound.

► He may hate reading but he takes advantage of the fact that his brain is much active at night and he doesn't want to depend on Fugo too much. After all, he dreams on going back to school and he's more than willing to be capable enough to do so alone and pass without the other teen's help.

► Will cuddle anything that's near him while he studies but if you give him a plushie, it'll be instantly his favorite and he would definitely use it as a study buddy.

Guido Mista

► Alright, let's be honest here, this dude wouldn't even stay up if it weren't for his bros.

► 5 seconds lying on the bed and he's already knocked out for a good 10 hours if there's no work he has to do for the day. Make it 8 at weekdays thanks to his mafia-related responsibilities.

► He sleeps like a log so only a combination of shaking him up awake with Fugo and Narancia can make him rise from what seems like a two year coma but is really just a normal tuesday night.

► Will pretty much join Narancia at anything he does but since his last three brain cells are obviously still as half asleep as him, he won't be able to remember that much the next day.

► And once he's out of the room and is already sitting on the couch with the guys, Mista's the type to fall asleep halfway through the movie.

► You can't blame him though, it's 12AM and it seems that Fugo got to choose what movie they'll watch since Narancia already got to choose the other night.

► Unless they're playing videogames or are going out then he won't be acting like a slow ass PVZ zombie with a fried brain. Actually, he'll be hella active if that's the case.

► Active at grabbing every snack each second, that is.

► Actually, it's the pistols who does that but oh well, it's not like Mista's innocent too.

► "I swear it's not me who ate all of our groceries for this month! Right, guys?! It's the pistols! "

► And that, everyone, is how Guido blew their little rendezvous without even trying.

Giorno Giovanna

► There's not much to be said about this boy since just like Mista, Giorno goes to bed early as he makes sure he still gets the proper amount of sleep.

► He already has a lot of things to deal with at day so of course, by the end of it, he'll be exhausted.

► Nights before exams are excluded because although he may seem like he skips class sometimes, Giorno still knows his priorities.

► Only when he became the head of the mafia did he really started to lose sleep as great power comes with great responsibilities.

► It took a LONG time for Giorno to adjust to a lot of things cause come on, he maybe resilient but he's still a 15 year old teen.

► Not only does he have towers after towers of work but i like to imagine that he still continued his education and used some of the things he learns in class in the mafia, specifically in classes like history or geography class since as a boss, he has to know every nook and cranny of Italy.

► Not to mention that emergencies happen and he always has to be ready to give out orders, even if it means being woken up at 1AM.

► God, help this child because all the things mentioned above are just an understatement of what happens on the first few months of being in charge of Passione.

-He really didn’t like you upon first meeting

-He hated how he couldn’t intimidate you into not being a nuisance the way he could with most of his brothers

-But, to be honest, you had gained his respect rather early on

-I think, even though it may have annoyed him to no end, Lucifer was very fond of your bravery a lot of the times

-The way you would stand up for Mammon or that time you protected Beel and Luke from his outburst

-Courage is not a trait one would usually associate with humans, especially when more superior beings like demons are involved

-Your humility was also a characteristic of yours that he, surprisingly, was really fond of

-And your overall mercifulness was something to be congratulated as well

-I mean, him and his brothers put you through so much shit and for you to forgive and move on without an angry word at any of them kinda speaks on its own

-I think he understands, to an extent, the reason you’re so loyal to the people you care about too

-If it’s just the two of you hanging out, he has an easier time opening up about Lilith because he knows you would never judge him and respect his feelings enough to let him get it out of his system

OBEY ME! LESSON 55 DETAILED SUMMARY AND DISCUSSION/THEORIES

OKAY! So first off the background for this is absolutely gorgeous and shows a real demon. You know the kind you’d imagine an actual demon to look like and everything’s dark (black, grey, brown) there’s a castle on a mountain like area with a narrow suspended pathway leading to it, there are crows flying around and a person in a robe pointing what looks like a lit wand at a snarling attacking demon, there are skulls and what looks like weapons on the ground and my favourite part: a person in a long robe, kneeling on the ground, covering the top of their face with their hands and wailing to the sky. It’s all tailor made to my taste and I love it! There’s one locked lesson.

It’s breakfast time and Asmo & Beel are heading to an all you can eat global sweet sampler, MC questions it and Asmo says you can get desserts from all over the world there and Asmo’s hoping to live stream it. Asmo invites MC but Mammon interjects asking them to come see “cute horsies” with him. “’Horsies.’ He’s so pretentious. Shut up, it’s the fucking horse race. ‘Horsies.’” Says Levi. Levi invites MC to a real life TSL themed escape room (that sounds really fun tbh), Satan invites them to come watch the sci-fi movie they were talking about, in their home theatre. (he’s actually watched it 3 times already but he read online theories about it and now he wants to see if he can catch the basis for those theories in the movie). They all start arguing about it (except Beel who’s just eating) when MC gets a text from Diavolo congratulating them on their 5th star and wishing them luck for the other 2 and inviting them to an amusement park date. Everyone – MC included – is kind of baffled by the one on one date with Diavolo. They ask any of the others if they want to tag along but they all refuse but Beel asks if MC can take Belphie along since he hasn’t really left the house in a while and Beel’s worried. MC texts asking if they can bring Belphie along too and Diavolo says the more the merrier and I just know this is gonna end in disaster like did Belphie ever even resolve all the problems he had with Diavolo back in S1?

Beel drags Asmo along to wake Belphie up because a.) he doesn’t want Asmo to leave to the sweets thing without him b.) they need all the help they can get to wake him up. MC suggests using force and Asmo happily volunteers to grab Belphie, turn him over and drop him on the ground, Beel says they can’t do this to poor Belphie cause Beel’s a sweetheart, and says the most force he’ll allow them to use is by tickling Belphie, which Asmo then does. It doesn’t work so Asmo says if they’re gonna use force they should do something like this right before he screams “ASMO DIIIIIIVE!!!” and jumps on top of Belphie as Beel protests and I love that despite what you’d assume from his aesthetic and despite what Asmo would like you to believe he’s a lot more rough and tumble and violent (I just really love the sweet with hidden edges trope as much as I love the jerk with a gooey centre trope). Belphie says ow and Asmo brightly and sweetly cheers that he woke up as if just seconds ago he hadn’t used a wrestling move on his sleeping baby brother. Beel says that though Belphie’s body is awake his mind isn’t (relatable), Beel fixes Belphie’s bedhead and Asmo complains that Belphie’s a stereotypical spoilt brat youngest child and says that Diavolo obviously would’ve wanted a one on one day with MC. Beel says he knows and it’s another reason he wanted Belphie to go. Asmo agrees saying that after everything if MC chooses their boss over any one of the seven guys MC actually lives with it’d feel wrong. Asmo tells Belphie to keep an eye on them and not let it turn into a “whirlwind romance”, Belphie just asks for his pillow and Asmo’s upset cause he doesn’t feel confident about the plan now. Poor Diavolo being constantly cockblocked

On the way Belphie complains about being forced to do this when his schedule is just as busy but MC says all he does is sleep and he says because naps are important to him and he takes them seriously. He wishes he could go back home and asks why of all the demons he had to be stuck with Diavolo (so guess those issues are still around good to know). MC asks if he still dislikes Diavolo cause of his fondness for humans and Belphie says he’s fully gotten over that whole human genocide phase which is great to have confirmed. They ask why he dislikes Diavolo – lots of reasons. He always thinks he’s right and expects to get his way about anything and everything and never listens to anyone’s opinions. He hadn’t bothered to listen to Belphie back when the exchange program had been proposed and Belphie was against it (and I mean to be fair back then Belphie was 100% okay with killing the entire human race for no reason other than the fact that he blamed them for Lilith’s death when really they had nothing to do with it and it was definitely the angels’ fault. I mean I don’t think I would have listened to him either and he really does have the spoilt youngest kid personality. I think out of all the brother’s Belphie’s the one who has the fondest memories of the Celestial Realm – probably helped by the fact that Lilith was still alive then – which is why he never blamed them for what happened and instead directed all his anger at the humans) Lucifer hadn’t let Belphie plead his case (what case Belphie!? That all humans should die!?) and that Diavolo’s surrounded by demons like Barbatos and Lucifer who shield him from criticism (and yeah I agree that this is true and that it’s a bad thing but Lucifer wasn’t shielding Diavolo from criticism when he refused to let Belphie plead his case, he was protecting Belphie cause if Diavolo found out Belphie wanted to kill humans he would have thrown him in jail like he did back at the end of S1 and MC you dumb fuck can you pls tell all this to Belphie) and that Diavolo doesn’t understand that he’s been saved from criticism and Belphie hates that about him and he shudders at the thought of spending the day with Diavolo. On the way they run into Simeon and tell him where they’re going, he says Luke’s been wanting to go there since he saw a ad for it and MC says they could take Luke along with them but he says Luke’s at a cooking class today but that he’d probably love to hear about it when he gets back. Simeon then takes off saying he has a meeting. Belphie goes to call after Simeon to tell him something and catches a glimpse of the person Simeon was supposed to meet. He’s surprised and says “Is that…” and when MC asks what’s wrong he said he must have just imagined it and that the person Simeon was meeting just looked really familiar and HOLY SHITTTTTTT GUYSSS rfhiefjoSJKWDLDADJSJ was I right are we really gonna get to see angels???? That’s the only explanation, right? It would have had to be Michael or even Raphael and there’s only a few lessons left and this and the next lesson are probably gonna focus on Diavolo and Belphie’s relationship and following the patter MC should get their 6th star next lesson, then the two lessons after that will be their final exam for the 7th star and then the last two lessons will focus on saying goodbye as the brothers go back to the Devildom and all that’s gonna have a lot going on but if they’re teasing the angels being here now could they manage to slip them in or will that be too much? I mean they’ll be introducing a whole new (or two whole new) character(s) and ahhh I’m rambling but pls I need the tension and angst between them and the brothers ok I’m done.

When they get there Belphie complains about how crowded it is and MC tries to look for Diavolo to which Belphie points to a group of fangirls surrounding Diavolo. Diavolo answers them sweetly and one of them says he’s even better looking irl and another shyly asks if he wants to walk around with them. Belphie cuts that short by barging in and asking Diavolo what’s going on, Diavolo happily greets Diavolo and one of the girls realises that Belphie called Diavolo ‘lord’. Diavolo apologises to them and said he’s already made plans with friends (and ugh he’s so sweet I love him just wanna give him a big hug I bet he gives great hugs), the girls are very understanding and sweet about it and they leave. Belphie’s a lil shit and says “Aww, too bad, Lord Diavolo. I’d hate to interrupt just as they were hitting on you…” and Diavolo laughs it off saying it wasn’t like that (and can Diavolo not understand sarcasm or does he just ignore it? Both seem highly likely) Belphie disagrees and says they were clearly hitting on him and Diavolo changes the subject and says he can’t believe Belphie actually came, MC explains why and Diavolo says it’s understandable that Beel was worried after Belphie hadn’t left the house in a week (Me, who hasn’t left the house in almost a year: :’) ) Belphie says he knows Diavolo wanted a date with MC but too bad cause now Belphie’s gonna third wheel them. Diavolo tells Belphie not to be ridiculous and that he’s happy that Belphie came (and the thing is other than a small twinge of disappointment this is probably the truth). Belphie says that it probably won’t be a good idea to go around calling him “Lord” Diavolo given the way the girls reacted, Diavolo says he can just call him by his name since he wouldn’t mind but Belphie says he himself would mind and anyway if Lucifer or Barbatos found out Belphie wasn’t using his proper title they’d kill him. So Belphie suggests a nickname which Diavolo’s really happy about and MC suggests DD (they can also suggest John or Cap’n), Diavolo adores it and asks them to call him it all the time hereafter (I want to give him a hug so badly). Diavolo then happily and with lots of exclamation points goes on to say that it’s time to let their hair down and that Barbatos had made minute to minute schedule for them to follow so that they could enjoy the park to the fullest and Belphie says he wants to go home

Diavolo keeps unsuccessfully trying to get Belphie to wear a themed headband and take a group photo, saying he also wants to wear the headband on a boat ride and the ferris wheel. Diavolo gives MC sad puppy dog eyes (which I’m sure he uses successfully on Lucifer regularly, but that don’t affect Barbatos at all) and MC can’t refuse, asking Belphie if there’s anything that’ll get him to change his mind. He says no but he’s not stopping the others from doing it, Diavolo says since they’re here as a group they all should do it, Belphie snaps saying he doesn’t like how Diavolo’s using MC as a tool to bend Belphie to his will and he says he’s going home. Diavolo tries to stop him but he marches off and Diavolo drags MC off to chase after Belphie. Diavolo grabs Belphie by the arm outside the park and begs for a chance to apologize, Belphie denies it and tries to free his arm. Diavolo refuses to let him go saying he should have listened to and considered Belphie’s opinions now as well as in the past, Belphie’s shocked and MC asks Belphie to just hear Diavolo out. He agrees but tells them not to have any expectations of what this’ll accomplish.

Belphie says he doesn’t want to wear the headband or take pics and that he’s only gonna ride what he wants to, Diavolo agrees with all that. He asks if Belphie will stay with them and Belphie agrees and Diavolo is just so brightly stupidly happy and I can completely understand how he was able to make Lucifer question his entire world view. Diavolo’s so happy he starts waving Belphie’s arm around unconsciously and then asks Belphie what rides he wants to go on as they make their way back inside, Belphie doesn’t answer instead he’s blushing and annoyed and asks Diavolo to let go of his hand. Belphie wants to ride ‘The Twisting Freefall of Death II’, MC & Diavolo would like to not freefall to their death thank you very much. Belphie quotes the ride as being, “the single most terrifying experience in the world where you’ll scream for mercy and receive none” Diavolo says, “Did you say scream for mercy…” Belphie happily agrees. Diavolo turns to his last hope, MC, and asks how they feel about this. I like to imagine that even MC has a line where their lacking self-preservation will kick in. Belphie just smiles saying it won’t actually kill them (this would have been more reassuring coming from someone who didn’t once murder MC but whatever.) They can also ask Diavolo how feels about it. After the ride Belphie’s cackling loudly and gushing about how great it was. He’s especially happy about the look on Diavolo’s face during the ride, saying he’s never seen it before (probably the look of a demon praying to God for mercy). MC can say that Belphie seemed to be having a lot of fun, cheer how the ride was the best or say they thought they were going to die. For the 3rd option Belphie very cheerfully says MC’s alive and ok. Belphie asks Diavolo how it was only to realise Diavolo’s missing. He fell off the ride at its highest peak. He’s dead.

They’ve tried texting Diavolo but he doesn’t read them. Belphie wonders what kind of person actually gets lost in an amusement park unless they’re 5. Then he says “…is that what it is? Is he actually 5 yrs old?” He remembers that mammon got lost in a park once too and says the only thing the two of them have in common is that they’re both basically children, They then run into my favourite character in the entire game – the butcher (is2g this man needs to become a recurring side character) who is here with his wife and daughter. He asks them if the rest of the harem is here too and Belphie lets him know that unfortunately they’re here with a new inductee who got lost. The butcher offers to help and asks for a description. MC says he’s the owner of the corvo hotel chain and the butcher wonders who the fuck are these people in the first place to know someone like that and then because the butcher’s the sweetest person alive he too starts worrying about diavolo, scared that he might have gotten kidnapped. Belphie says “there’s no one in the human world oh shit I mean THE WORLD. THE NORMAL WORLD ALL US HUMANS - BECAUSE WE ALL ARE HUMANS - LIVE IN” the butcher now probably used to how weird this cult is (because they definitely are a satanic cult with their extremely obvious demon names, how weird and unused to normal life they are, 7 of them being obviously infatuated by the eighth one but the butcher’s not gonna bring this up cause with the amount of meat they buy from him he could keep his family afloat for years AND pay for his daughters college tuition) ignores this and says he hasn’t seen Diavolo but advices them to check the information desk and ask them to page Diavolo over the loudspeakers. They thank him and Belphie promises to stop by with Beel later, the butcher says he’ll see him then and tells them to take care (I love this man). Barbatos text MC asking how they’re doing and which itinerary of his they’re following cause yes apparently he made more than one and telling them he trusts them to take care of diavolo (and I can’t believe it took me this long to realise Barbatos is a helicopter parent). MC leaves him on read. Lucifer then texts them saying Satan told him where they’d gone and telling them that since the two of them are with Diavolo he assumes he’s okay but just to clarify make sure nothing happens to Diavolo. MC leaves him on read. Belphie says that Barbatos and Lucifer are way too overprotective. Barbatos and MC then realise how fucked they are if either of them find out that they’ve lost diavolo and so decide to skip the whole loudspeaker thing.

They can decide if they want to check by the lake, the ferris wheel or the last ride they went in. He’s not at the lake and they choose to take a boat across the lake to get to the ferris wheel cause it’s faster than going around it. Belphie actually enjoys the boat ride and asks if the two of them can just enjoy themselves together for a bit instead of looking for Diavolo, MC says “I’m worried about Diavolo also can you not remember how fucked we are if we don’t find him”. Belphie gets jealous that MC seems to care more about Diavolo than him (they’re just been practical! If the roles were reversed they’d have shut Diavolo down to look for you!) and says that even they have a real soft spot for Diavolo (He’s like a giant golden retriever!!).  There’s an announcement over the loudspeaker for MC and ‘Snoozy’ saying that DD’s waiting for them at the info desk. Belphie’s not happy about ‘snoozy’ (understandable)

5 times Diavolo failed to be a sugar daddy and one time he succeeded

I'm just imagining poor Diavolo trying SO HARD to spoil an MC who is just. Not greedy in the slightest and loves weird little shinies while being totally indifferent to the super crazy expensive gifts he usually gives to people he's trying to woo. Just in case, this is the PUREST OF FLUFF and completely sfw. I can’t even think of any tw to tag??? Let me know if you notice something. Oh, and MC is imagined to be gender neutral. There’s a mention of perfume, but not in the feminine sense- that’s just the proper word for a certain level of scent concentration.

1. Expensive Perfume

Diavolo's first attempt is the most expensive perfume/cologne money can buy

He's not quite sure what MC's favorite scent is, so he buys a wide variety

All the bottles are sleek and minimalistic and the scents inside are VERY obviously expensive, the kind of thing Mammon would probably lose his mind over

MC's reaction is perfectly grateful, they say sincerely how much they appreciate him thinking of them. He doesn't feel a single lie off of them and he walks away mostly satisfied thinking maybe they’re just the type to not show a ton of excitement over gifts

That is, until he's walking down the hallways in RAD and happens to overhear a conversation between Asmo and MC

Asmo's talking about how he's been going through perfume at a record pace lately, and he feel so bad about wasting these beautiful bottles... would MC like them? He has one shaped like a rose, one like a star, one modeled after the cosmos... 

Asmo doesn't even get to finish because MC is already flapping their hands in joy (I'm autistic and MC is going to happy stim if it kills me) and wiggling and practically jumping into Asmo's arms in excitement

Asmo's laughing and promising to save all of his prettiest empty perfume bottles for MC from now on and MC is practically wiggling in joy and nuzzling their face into Asmo's chest in happiness

They’re talking about spending the night in Asmo’s room trying to make perfume blends for each other to fill up the bottles and tossing scent ideas back and forth

And Diavolo is sitting there feeling a bit like he's been bonked over the head. Those happy stims are ADORABLE and he wants to be the one who causes them. He's not sure why his perfume failed and Asmo's literal empty bottles worked but he's DETERMINED to try again

2. Fancy gemstones

Diavolo's next attempt is fancy gemstones. He finds large, beautifully cut and processed gemstones, the type that are so perfectly processed they look almost identical except for color

Again, when he gives MC his gifts he can tell that they're sincerely grateful! They tell him they love that he was thinking of them, they worry that he spent too much money on them ( they try to refuse at first because it's too much, but Diavolo breezes past their protests with a smile and an iron will) and Diavolo doesn't sense even the tiniest hint of untruth from their professions of gratitude

But.... there are no happy wiggles, no stunned gasps, no joyously flapping hands, no nothing. Just calm gratitude.

Diavolo goes back to the drawing board, and he's just going to visit the HOL library for inspiration in a rare book (and as an excuse to see MC) when he hears Satan and MC laughing together in the library.

When he walks in, he sees Satan and MC crouched together with some strange tools in their hands, gently chipping away at a large rock. There's a tiny pile of uncut, unprocessed gemstones at MC's elbow.

As soon as MC sees him, he's aflood in a wash of excited chatter as MC tells him about the gemstone mining kit Satan bought after reading a book on gemstones. In fact Diavolo can see the book open at Satan's elbow along with a notebook where the two have been identifying every gemstone they dig up.

Before he knows it, MC seizes his hand and he's drawn into the game, watching their eyes shine and seeing them bounce in their seat with excitement every time they uncover a new gemstone.

Dammit. Another failure. But, Diavolo finds as he watches MC's obvious joy, he can't be too frustrated when they're this happy. 

3. Shopping spree at Majolish

Diavolo is undeterred! He takes a day to bring them to Majolish, having them try on outfit after outfit. Sure, they're not picking out very many things, but he loves spending time with them and they say they're enjoying themself.

After several hours, Barbatos gently reminds him that he has a meeting soon and that MC seems absolutely exhausted.

Diavolo pouts, especially when he sees that MC hasn't picked out very many things, but he sighs and concedes.

When he drops them off at the HOL, MC gives him a hug and thanks him for helping them pick out some more formal outfits for any upcoming RAD events. Diavolo accepts the hug gladly, but there's no squeaking or jumping and DEFINITELY no flapping. MC seems rather exhausted, and Belphegor has appeared from nowhere and draped himself over MC and is mumbling about needing a nap buddy and MC isn't even trying to argue 

The next day, Barbatos shows him Levi's post on Devilgram. It's a video, of Levi giving MC a plain, unassuming box.

When MC opens the box, their mouth drops open, their eyes go wide, and they fling themselves at Levi, happily nuzzling into his chest and mumbling incoherent thanks while Levi turns bright red and starts stuttering and clearly tries not to combust

The video cuts out for a second and then starts again with MC wearing a simple shirt embroidered with a strange logo, which Levi explains from behind the camera is inspired by MC's favorite series and was handmade by Levi for practice. Levi was apparently asked to design formalwear inspired by anime, and he chose MC's favorite to practice a design. According to the caption, the two spent an entire day together watching the series and sketching ideas!

MC is beaming and happy stimming while Diavolo thumps his head into his desk dramatically and Barbatos elegantly stifles a chuckle behind him. 

4. Bouquets of flowers

Well now Diavolo is determined. HE WILL MAKE MC HAPPY STIM IF IT KILLS HIM

HE HAS HIS PRIDE AS THE FUTURE DEMON KING DAMMIT

He begins watching the corniest of romcoms for ideas.

Midway into one of them, he sees the character buy their love interest bouquets upon bouquets of roses

BRILLIANT! He's up and placing orders immediately. Barbatos stays behind for a few minutes to actually watch how this particular ploy works out on screen, before laughing and going to watch the chaos

As dedicated as he is to the young lord, watching Diavolo scramble around trying to impress his first puppy love only to fail because the target of his affections is simply too humble.... well, it's honestly adorable. He'll step in if it goes on for too long, but for now it might actually be good for the young master to experience something he can't have by throwing money or influence at it.

Diavolo has some of the Devildom's finest florists on the horn and he's sending a veritable flood of their finest cut flowers... AND he's sending them from an anonymous source, just like in the movie! The woman in the movie only sent over THREE bouquets to the object of her love, so Diavolo sends 300. Only the best for his MC :)

He's waiting impatiently for the results of his little scheme when he gets an apologetic text from Lucifer saying that he'll be late to the meeting and MC won't be coming at all. Some anonymous admirer sent MC an excessive amount of flowers and the sheer amount of pollen triggered allergies in ALL of the demon bros and MC.

Lucifer needed time to clear out the house and distribute allergy meds to everyone and buy out the nearest store on tissue paper

Barbatos is no longer even bothering to stifle his chuckles while Diavolo buries his face in his arms to hide his shame

To rub salt in the wound, Lucifer tells him a few days later that he set up a miniature greenhouse for MC to grow humanworld herbs in and they've barely left it in the last two days

Lucifer’s been spending most of his free time in the greenhouse with them, helping them tinker with humidity spells and listening to their excited monologues on human gardening techniques

Lucifer is definitely smirking as he tells Diavolo this and Diavolo doesn't bother to ask how Lucifer knew what was going on, because his old friend knows him too well and Diavolo realizes he's not exactly subtle.

What he doesn't realize is that Barbatos is also a dirty dirty snitch and he and Lucifer have been watching over his attempts with a mix of hilarity and pity

5. Desserts

Some might give up, but not Diavolo! His newest ideas is fancy desserts. He was told by a sweet old succubus that the best way to his lover's heart was through the stomach (actually she initially had some far raunchier suggestions that had made Diavolo blush and had given him some ideas for far, FAR in his future relationship with MC, but that's neither here nor there) and so here Diavolo is, placing a giant order at Madame Scream's to be delivered to the HOL.

This time he has learned from his mistakes and he signs it as being from him and addresses it to "MC and the residents of HOL" because even he recognizes there are far too many sweets for a human to eat before they go bad

Barbatos by this point is starting to feel pity and is almost tempted to suggest he wait until it's not Beel's day for Fangol practice to send a giant array of tempting sweets.

Almost. If it weren't for the maid cafe fiasco of last week Barbatos probably would have, but that lace had chafed in areas that should never be chafed.

Diavolo sent his gift only to receive a poorly drawn thank-you card drawn by Beel and signed by everyone at the HOL, including MC, even though "I didn't even get a chance to eat any, BEEL"

This poor man feels his soul leave his body, especially when he returns home from RAD to find Barbatos and MC baking together and singing along to Disney songs (well, MC was singing, Barbatos was simply watching them with a smile and occasionally twisting them into a simple dance to make them laugh and squiggle with joy)

Et tu, Barbatos?

After yesterday's glitter incident, Barbatos has no shame and simply smirks back. He'll help the young lord when he can shower without finding glitter in every crevice.

Diavolo is planning his next gift when he gets a message from MC, of all people

His heart flutters, he has butterflies in his stomach, and he hasn't even read it yet!

It's a simple text- "What are you up to?" 

Obviously Diavolo can't admit he's shirking paperwork to try and figure out a gift that would make them happy! So he improvises and claims he's working. He gets back a sad face emoji and a simple "Miss you! I feel like we haven't hung out in forever, but I know how busy you are. Good luck, I'm rooting for you!"

SHOT THROUGH THE HEART AND MC IS TO BLAME

This man is dramatically draped over his desk wailing about how cute MC is.

Luckily for him Barbatos has forgiven him for both the maid cafe incident and the glitter incident and Diavolo has been too distracted trying to plan gifts to cause any new chaos

Barbatos hands him a lovely picnic basket, complete with tea and fancy sandwiches, and tells him to go see MC and take a break since he's clearly not getting any work done as is.

Cue guilty glance to the overwhelming stack of paperwork that's been building up. He swears he's never seen Barbatos place more and yet they keep growing, are they breeding somehow...? Did Lucifer curse him after the taffy incident?

Either way, Diavolo takes the basket and heads off to HOL.

He's either very lucky or (more likely) Barbatos bribed Lucifer into helping him out, as MC is the one to answer the door.

They look kind of down until they see him and he explains he's there to spend time with them, and then they absolutely LIGHT UP.

Before he knows it, they've thrown himself into his arms and they're bouncing in excitement and snuggling him and happy flapping and boyo is confused but OVER THE MOON.

He finally did it!?!?! What was it!?!?! The picnic basket? Do they have a thing for picnics baskets!?!?! 

And then he actually tunes in a d listens to their flood of chatter and how happy they are to see him and how much they've missed him and how excited and grateful they are they he took time out of his busy schedule to spend time with him and out in the thought to prepare a way for them to spend time in each other's company...

Hello, litte sinners. Did ya miss me? Hope so, cause I'm back again. This is Leviathan's piece from a series I'm starting called "Home, sweet home" and it's gonna be about each of the brothers reacting to MC's return to Devildom. Obviously, with nsfw elements cause let's be honest, it's not mine if it doesn't have at least one sex scene.

A lifetime of boredom, that's what Leviathan was sentenced to after you left Devildom. The days became a blur. He was on autopilot, fulfilling his responsibilities just so he doesn't get in trouble with Lucifer and counting the days until it was his turn to call you.

Although he absolutely adored your voice, it wasn't enough. It was never enough. Just telling you about what he watched or played recently never satisfied him as he longer to share the experinces with you. So, he usually asked about you.

True to his nature, he was boiling with rage, but attempted to keep it concealed as to not ruin the already short time you two had. He couldn't stand the fact that others had your attention. They could see you, touch you, watch you smile and...he wasn't able to. It was excruciating.

"Y/n...", he gathered the courage to say.

"Yes, Levi? What's wrong?"

"You know...", he took a deep breath, "I won't blame you if you find someone better in the human world."

It was easier to say things like this if he didn't have to look into your eyes.

"Levi, you know I'm going to come back to you. I could never find someone better. You're the only one for me."

Your words were meant to soothe him, but somehow ignited the spark that broke him down.

"W-what if you can't!? What if you will never come back? You'd have to settle then and accept it and you'd find someone else... But I'd have to live an eternity of sorrow and regret! I can't lose you, y/n!", he managed to express through sobs.

"I'll find a way to come back to you, just wait for me. I'll always come back to you."

"Promise?"

"Promise."

Unfortunately he had to wipe his tears and hang up, his time was up. However, this conversation would linger in his mind for a long while, maybe forever.

Fast forward a few weeks and there he was, sitting at the student council desk listening to a meeting that he was dragged into. There was no way he could focus, not when tomorrow was his day to call you. Levi wasn't able to pay attention to a word of Diavolo's but, instead, planned in his head all the things he wanted to catch you up on and everything that he wanted to ask. He developed this skill that made it seem like he was taking notes, but instead he was doodling your avatar from your favorite game.

He was so out of it that it took two of his brothers shouting your name to make him snap back to reality and realize that it was you, it really was you standing in the middle of the room holding onto Solomon's arm. In any other scenario he would have been pissed, but this time, the sight made him the happiest demon alive. Almost instinctually, he rubbed his eyes to make sure this wasn't some intricate daydream his mind played out of loneliness. Could it really be true?

His brothers were talking to you, even Diavolo was asking questions, but he was still in shock. Levi just couldn't move. His heart was beating so fast and his hands were shaking. To him it was absolutely stupid. He waited and craved to see you, to have you, so badly and now you were here and he was glued to the goddamn chair.

Although you were hugging Asmo, your eyes still lingered on Levi as you were watching him over Asmo's shoulder. He looked so anxious, almost like he was about to cry. You didn't take it to heart that he didn't immediately come hug you, the poor soul must've been in shock.

When everyone was done with their hugs, you got the keys for the House of Lamentation and you basically got sent home so they can finish the meeting.

Before leaving you snuck behind your favorite demon and embraced him lovingly.

"I'll see you home. Okay, baby?", you whispered before exiting the room.

Solomon walked you home and you politely asked if he wanted to stay for a cup of tea. Surely, after he took you back to them, the brothers wouldn't mind if he stayed for tea. However, he refused the invitation, saying that he had business to attend to, whatever that may mean.

You weren't too bothered by it, since you actually wanted to be left alone. It's been a long time since you've been home, you kind of wanted to walk around and take it all in.

You checked to see if there was any food to work with so you could surprise the brothers when they came back, but the fridge was mostly empty. They were probably getting takeaway. Seeing you didn't really have anything to do after unpacking, you wandered to Levi's room which was surprisingly opened. He was probably in a hurry in the morning and forgot to lock it... Whatever the reason, you were grateful.

The room was a bit of a mess, but you didn't really mind. It vaguely smelled like him and you missed his smell so goddamn much. One of his comfort hoodies laid on the back of his chair and you couldn't help but bury your face in it an inhale his scent.

You probably shouldn't have, but you slipped it in on over you clothes and it all spiraled from that moment on.

On his way home, Leviathan was being extremely self conscious. Why were you the one that had to come to him? He loved you, so why couldn't he move? Why was he such a pussy? He shook his head. No matter what, he was going to make up for it. He wanted to show you how much he missed you, how much he loved you. He carved to make you remember that you're his. All the way home he attempted to hype himself up and it was relatively successful, although his hands were still shaking.

When he got home he rushed to his room. The demon wanted to freshen up before he went to meet you. Damn, he actually forgot to lock his door. Thank the devil nobody was home...

His jaw dropped the moment he swung the door open. It was the sight he least expected to see. This wasn't how he planned it in his head... Ugh, this was so unfair. It's like he never got to have his way.

He mentally slapped himself for letting his sin take over. You were there, in his room, with his goddamn hoodie on, seemingly smelling one of the sleeves while playing with yourself. He couldn't ever ask for more. Fuck his mental plan, this was better.

"Oh, hi... I'm sorry, I couldn't help myself", you mumbled.

The liliac-headed demon locked the door to make sure nobody could disturb the two of you.

"Don't be sorry, this is perfect, you're perfect.", he could feel his cheeks heating up.

"I didn't even mean to, but I could feel your scent and I...lost it..."

Soon your hands were around his neck and his on your thighs while your lips intertwined in a dance of longing and relief.

Did you crave him wholeheartedly? Yes. But if he wanted to stop and just hold you, you wouldn't mind. What you craved the most was feeling him close, as close as possible. You needed to feel his skin and his hands on yours, to feel his breath and his heartbeat, the warmth of his body and everything in between. You craved his whole being.

You would've kept going, deepening the kiss even further, but you became startled by a strange feeling around your torso. Turns out, it was just Levi's tail wrapped around you. The golden-eyes demon seemed to have missed you so much that feeling you up triggered his demon form. Truth be told, he wasn't the best at containing his excitement.

When your gaze met his, those pretty eyes were almost in tears. He couldn't have been sad, right? You were here, it was something else, but you couldn't put your finger on it.

"What's wrong, baby boy? I'm here and I'm not leaving your side again. I told you I'll always come back, so don't worry.", you cupped his cheeks to make sure his eyes wouldn't wander off to the floor.

"I just... I thought you wouldn't come back. I was scared. I don't want to lose you. You're mine, y/n. You're mine. You hear me?"

"Loud and clear, admiral!"

You both chuckled and thankfully broke off the tense atmosphere.

"Sooo...what was that about me being yours? I think I'll need a demonstration.", you stated playfully.

His eyes lit up again like a jar of honey on a windowsill as the rays of the sun shines through. Granted, Devildom didn't have a sun, but Levi's eyes were enough to light up your world.

"Gladly.", was a he said before his hands wandered off under the hoodie to feel your skin.

You were already burning up, it was overwhelming to be able to touch him again. You fantasied about this moment hundreds of times, you couldn't believe it was finally coming true.

His movements were soft and gentle, as if he wanted to savour it, to try to remember exactly how your skin felt against his hands, to engrave in his memory exactly how your breath became heavier when he caressed certain spots, to save you up in case you disappear.

With one hand on your thigh and the other on the back of your neck, he lead your head to the side, gaining access to your neck. Soft kisses turned into hungry bites and licks as if he could devour you whole right that instant. Usually he was more gentle, even a bit shy, although you've done this plenty of times, but this time around he did a number on your neck, marking you up. Granted, you did ask for a demonstration of how you belong to him and he delivered.

The hand on your thigh slowly moved between your legs, towards your wet folds, teasing you with soft brushes of the tips of his fingers against them. You squirmed under him which only made him smile against your neck. He was always the boldest when you couldn't see his face.

headcanons for all the demon brothers on what their thoughts are about dating a human, considering humans age quickly and die. they barely have a century, if that. and if they do last a century they'll be old. idk... if mc asked them if they truly meant to date them when they are 70 years old, what would they say?

Ahh, nonnie thank you for this request - this is just the kind of angst I’ve been craving lately 💜I’m kinda assuming here that the whole entire “die, turn back into angel, and then live happily ever after with MC in celestial realm” things that’s briefly mentioned in the game isn’t really an option for the boys, since I don’t really understand it. 

Anyways, after I wrote this, it appears Lucifer, Satan, Asmo and Belphie would break off relationship on account of MC’s mortality, and Mammon, Levi and Beel would stay. 

Lucifer

Lucifer starts thinking about it as soon as he finds himself falling for MC. 

He knows that the human life is quite short, and he’d lost so much of what he loved before - but for the first time in his life he’s this scared.

It seems MC will be taken away from him in a blink of an eye. 

Lucifer is not the type to give up without a fight, however, so he’ll likely try and find a way to increase human life span. He knows, of course, that it’s not possible to make humans immortal, but he will do his best to find a way to get more time for the two of them. 

Diavolo might find out about his efforts, and may offer to make MC a demon, but Lucifer will decline. That’s not to say he’s not tempted to accept - after all, that way they’ll be forever by his side, but he knows all too well the cost of a deal with Diavolo. 

If he finds something that may help lengthen human life, he’ll approach MC about it. If they accept, he’ll be delighted, but if they reject, he would fall into despair.  

Assuming that MC rejected the “longer-lifespan” solution and question Lucifer on whether he would stop loving them if they aged and died like a normal human, Lucifer would become very sad - picturing himself still “young” and full of strength when MC is old and frail is quite jarring to him. 

Will likely begin to pull away from the relationship in that case and might actually break it off - he is not ready to spend decades in fear, waiting for MC to become old and die. 

Alternative option is that he’ll apply the “long life” treatment to MC anyways (since often he thinks he knows better) but this would likely blow up in his face, since MC probably won’t be too happy about it, and for a good reason. 

Mammon

Mammon does not think about it at first - after all, he kind of lives in the present moment. 

However, one day, one of his brothers (maybe Lucifer or Satan) will definitely being up the fact that he’s dating a mortal and that their time together is quite limited. 

That would scare Mammon very much - MC is the best thing that’s ever happened to him, and he absolutely cannot lose them. 

He likely won’t talk to MC about it right away, but will ask around about the ways in which a human’s life span can be lengthened. He’s not big on doing research, so he’ll likely turn to Satan or might go to the witches and ask if they know of something. 

MC will definitely figure out that something is bothering Mammon - the boy is as transparent as they come, even though he tries to hide his true feelings. 

When confronted will tell MC about his worries and will mention whatever ways he had found of increasing the human life span, then will ask MC is they’d agree to those. 

If MC agrees, like Lucifer, he would be elated. If MC does not agree, and instead asks him if he’d still love them when they were old and frail, Mammon would feel really guilty. 

It would take him some time to figure out what he truly feels about this situation - after all, this is all so new and he’d never had to encounter such problems before. 

In the end, he’ll decide that he’ll stay with MC who refused the “lifespan lengthening” treatment - the man is the avatar of greed after all, and there is no way he’ll give up the most precious thing in his life, even if it’s inevitable that it’ll be eventually taken away. 

Leviathan

Like Mammon Levi does not really think about it, until one day he he ends up watching an anime with a similar premise - an immortal girl meets a mortal girl and they fall in love, and the anime follows their life together. 

He thinks a lot about himself and MC when he watches it. He’s worried at first, but the story is a beautiful one and very peaceful, all the way through the end, and that definitely gives him solace. 

“Even though our time is short, we can still live a happy life,” he thinks to himself. 

Unlike his other brothers, will likely bring this up to MC unprompted, but asking MC whether they had thought about the future with him. MC will likely wonder why he’s asking, prompting Levi to explain about the anime. 

“So then you’ll still love me when I’m 70 and old and frail?” MC will ask him with a smile, and Levi will assure MC that of course he would. After all, theirs is a true love, just like that of the two characters from his anime, so how could he ever walk away from his one true?

Still though, Levi would like to get as much time with MC as is possible - he loves them very much after all - so he will ask if they are interested in looking into ways to increase the human lifespan. 

If MC agrees, Levi would be very happy - the more years he has with them the better, after all. But if MC declines, though sad, Levi would respect their decision. 

Satan (you can pry tolkien-fan satan out of my cold dead hands lmao)

Satan definitely thinks about the fact that he and MC would not have much time together as soon as he finds himself falling for them. 

After all, how could he not when some books he enjoyed reading had discussed at length the griefs that would befall the mortal and immortals who decided to spend their lives together. 

It worries him, of course - he knows that human youth is painfully fleeting and soon enough MC would age. Compared to millennia that he had lived, it seems as though MC will turn old and frail in a blink of an eye. 

He thinks he’d like to stay by their side, but one thing worries him - how will they feel when old age came upon them, and he’s still as “young” as the day they met. 

Satan would likely talk to MC about his concerns, trying to see what they think about the issue. 

When MC asks him if he would still love them when they are seventy, the question will likely put fear into Satan’s heart. It would seem to him that MC resents the fact that they will age, if they are asking things like this.

Satan knows a lot about magic, so he, like his brothers, might try to find away to make sure that MC lives longer, and will be glad if they accept. 

However, if they do not, like Lucifer, Satan might withdraw from the relationship. It would be unintentional at first, but the more time passes, the more he’d think about how MC would feel in the end - when they are old and he is still young. 

He knows he would not be able to hide his pity for them when that day comes- and he knows he does not want to shame them like that. So it is possible that Satan would break off the relationship to prevent more hurt further down the road. 

Asmodeus

Asmo, like Mammon, doesn’t really think about the future the whole lot, until someone points out to him that his time with MC is limited. Well, “doesn’t think about it,” is not completely fair - he did for a moment, but then quickly pushed the thought to the very back of his mind. After all, how can he be his fabulous self if he’s sulking? 

Still, now that someone else had pointed this out, Asmo cannot avoid the topic any longer. It causes him great anguish - he loves MC, and imagining them old and grey and weak is not something he wants to think about at all. 

MC would likely pick up on Asmo being more sad/reserved that usual, and when they ask him about it, he’ll likely be pretty open about his feelings. 

“Not to worry though,” he’ll tell MC, “I know this one witch - and she looks not a day over twenty five, when, in fact, she’s about five hundred years old. I’m sure if I’ll ask her nicely, she’ll share the secret of how to lengthen human life span.”

He’ll be delighted if MC agrees and would proceed right to calling the witch. However, if MC declines and asks him instead if what he said means he would not love them once they turned old, Asmo would be conflicted. 

On one hand, he would, of course - after all they’d still be them, but on the other hand, he could hardly bear to picture them old and frail. He’ll try to convince them to change their mind, of course. 

If he does not succeed, Asmo might find himself pulling away from the relationship. He loves MC a lot yet, but he does not want to get hurt - and he knows their death would absolutely destroy him. 

He might find it easier to break off the relationship completely rather than suffer for decades in wait of MC’s death.

Beelzebub

Beel, like some of his brothers, is not really the type to ponder subjects like this, so it’s most likely that he hasn’t thought about how the relationship between him and MC would inevitably come to an end with their death. 

That is, until one of his brothers points it out. 

The thought makes Beel very sad - he loves MC so very much and he never wants to be separated from them. Still, he understands that that’s the reality of life - humans are mortal and one day MC will be taken away from him. 

Knowing that they only have a little time together (well, obviously decades are not quite “little time,” but to someone who’s lived for millennia it probably is) he’d want to spend all the time he can with MC. 

He’d likely stay in MC’s room as much as he can, go with them everywhere, spend all the free time that he can by their side and be really sad when he cannot be next to them. 

MC would likely notice the change in his behavior - it’s not like he did not spend a lot of time with them before, but now he’s spending considerably more time with them - and ask him about it to which Beel would likely tell them the truth, that he’s scared that one day he’ll lose them. 

When MC asks if that means he’d still be by their side when they are old, Beel will be taken aback by the question. How can MC possibly think otherwise - of course he’d never leave them?

Unlike his brothers, he probably won’t look into the lengthening of the human lifespan - after all, MC does not seem interested in it, and he’s already grateful for all the time that they got together. 

Belphegor

Unlike his twin, Belphie definitely thinks about the fact that humans are mortal and that there is so little time for him to be with MC, as soon as he finds himself falling for them. 

Belphie’s terrified of losing any more of the people that he loves, so MC’s mortality is causing him great anguish. Unlike some of his brothers, however, he’s pretty good at concealing his true emotions, so it’s likely won’t be as easy for MC to read him as it is to read some of his brothers. 

Still, eventually the silence will become too much to bear, and Belphie would tell MC that their mortality scares him. 

When the conversation occurs, he likely hasn’t looked into the ways of making humans live longer just yet, but he’s certain that that’s possible, so he brings it up as a possibility to MC. 

If MC accepts, that makes Belphie happy - the more time he has with his beloved the better. If MC rejects, he feels really sad and a little angry - he wonders if MC doesn’t love him enough that they are refusing to do this for him. 

When MC asks him if he’d still love them when they are seventy years old, Belphie’s taken aback by the question. On one hand, MC would still be themselves, but on the other hand, loving someone who is on the death’s door, who is bound to die so soon. The very thought hurts.

Belphie thinks he’d suffered enough hurt in his life, and he does not want to go through several more decades waiting to get hurt again, so he’ll likely end the relationship to prevent pain down the road.

This was a good guess, but wrong.In fact, Raydan brought up many good ideas during the meeting, Diavolos couldn’t think of even one complaint towards him.“No, It’s a different matter.” Diavolos had one last chance to back away, then decided to go for it anyway.To Raydan’s puzzeled expression, Diavolos added “Regarding queen Kenna.” It defiantly seemed to move something within Raydan, making the man shift his gaze towards where Kenna’s bed chambers were supposed to be, as if he could see anything from way down here.“She’s completely fine,” Diavolos assured, a slight of jealously creeped her way into him, but he was already in too deep.“So?” Raydan finally asked. He was tired of playing games, and he and Diavolos weren’t close in the first place.“You’re in love with her.” Diavolos stated the obvious. Something inside of him still hoping Raydan would deny it.Raydan’s gaze widened, realizing what this was about, a second before he composed himself back to normal.“Aren’t you?” He countered.Diavolos rolled his eyes at him. “Can you blame me?” He smirked, then scoffed uncomfortably. He didn’t come out here to give Raydan a pep talk. He didn’t want to ‘convince’ him to take Kenna away from him. He had his motives, of course. They weren’t bad motives, either.“No, not at all, my friend.” Did Raydan actually call him that? Because Diavolos was nowhere near that. If Raydan’d want to hug it out, Diavolos is so out.Raydan chuckled, but stared into the distance. “She should be with someone like you.” Raydan told him. Somehow, Diavolos wanted that to be true. And maybe, If you’d listen to the voice of reason, it’d be true. But Diavolos was done listening to that voice, and he knew Kenna did as well. It was getting hard enough listening to his father, who was defiantly plotting something… awful. He didn’t need anything more in his life dictating what he should and shouldn’t do.“Let’s not make her decisions for her. I know she loves you, right now… If we ended up together, I’d want it to be because she chose me, because she… loved me. Not because it was the ‘smart thing to do’, or because I’m the kind of a man she should marry. If i’m not her first choice, it’s not worth it. I don’t want to live my life wondering if she chose me for all the wrong reasons. So this is why i’m telling you this.” Diavolos didn’t know why he had told Raydan all this, why he told him the truth. But he guessed, eventually, it would do him no harm.“You think so?” God. Was Raydan stupid? Diavolos thought to himself.“I know she was broken when she thought you betrayed her, and left with Azura. We did share… something. In her airship, on the way to Aurelia. But then we came back and when she got those news… ugh, nevermind.I asked my sister if Kenna had any special relations with you, and her exact words were ‘someone would need to be BLIND to miss they’re in love’.” Diavolos swallowed hard as he remembered that.“Zenobia told you that?” Raydan sounded amused.“Believe it or not, she’s one of the few that vouched for your innocence without doubt.” He told him.“I’ll be sure to remember that.” Raydan assured him. “I should be going.” Raydan added, Diavolos gave him a lot to think about.This was some advice coming from an unlikely source.Diavolos nodded and turned away as well.While Raydan had confessed his love for Kenna, when trying to convince her he’s not a traitor, Kenna didn’t say it back. He knew it wasn’t the time, or the place, but honestly, with the way their lives turned out up until now, he was surprised they’d had any moments of calmness, ever.He sat on his bed, thinking over Diavolos’s words.Kenna and he did share a bed, afterwards, almost being disturbed by Zenobia, before Kenna slammed the door at her face. But since then, Kenna was too busy – it was understandable, they were preparing for battle against their biggest opponent yet, the Iron Empire – and they haven’t had a chance to discuss anything regarding their relationship yet.It’s not like they’ve ever discussed it earlier, but Raydan didn’t know what weight this whole ‘betrayal’ issue had over… whatever he and Kenna had.That apparently now was obvious for some people.The next day, Kenna noticed a change in Raydan. He looked… distracted. While he participated in all of their meetings and talks regarding their closing enemy, something was off.After they finished another startegical meeting, Kenna caught him before heading out.“Raydan, a word?” She asked. He was standing up from the other side of the table. His brows were furrowed, but he nodded. As he got closer to her, the expression on his face changed, into a bright smile. It seemed as if he had realized something.“Yes, my queen?” He asked, when he got to her, taking her hand in his and lifting it to his lips. “How may I help you?” He added, after leaving a soft kiss in the back of the palm of her hand.“You could start with telling me what’s been bothering you today.” Kenna suggests, and he smirks.“What’s so funny?” She has to immediately shoot at him.“Nothing, nothing at all. I’m just thinking about all kinds of things.” Raydan tried to assure her.“Mind to share some of those kinds of things?” She batted an eyebrow at him, examining. Raydan shrugged.“Oh, not really. A funny rumor has found her way to my ears and i’ve been thinking about it. That’s all.” Raydan was teasing her, wasn’t he?“Will you tell me already?” She groaned.“Someone’s bossy.” he commented.“It comes along with being a queen.”At that, Raydan chuckled. Then finally gave in. “A bird has whispered into my ear that… we’re in love.” He told her, looking deeply into her eyes.“Is that bird happens to be… Aurynn?” Kenna guessed.“Aurynn? No. Why would she…” Raydan’s expression looked puzzled.“Well, it’s just that I told her,” Kenna said. Raydan grabbed her carefully by her shoulders, turning her so that she’ll face him directly. “You said that?” He asked, surprised.“Well, sure. Why is that so surprising for you?” Kenna didn’t understand why Raydan didn’t seem to grasp the idea.“It’s just… nothing.” Raydan swallowed, then turned both ways, checking they were completely alone before swiping her into a kiss.“I- uh-” Kenna was taken a back. While she enjoyed the kiss, she had to cut it off, and find out what was Raydan hiding.“You?” Raydan questioned, not understanding why she stopped the kiss.“Is there something wrong with me telling Aurynn we’re in love? Are we… not? and if it wasn’t she who told you… then, who?” Kenna blabbered everything that came to her mind that moment. Raydan chuckled again, seeming amused, and even Kenna had to admit she had talked too fast, and grinned at him as well.“No, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that. The opposite, in fact.It’s just that we never… said it. And a spy has its ways, of course.” he told her, letting himself sound vulnerable for once in a while.“I… we never?” Kenna didn’t seem to remember. She guessed he was right, but also figured it was a given. “I guess we didn’t. But it’s true, isn’t it?” She shrugged, resting her head against his firm chest.“It is.” He stroked her hair, sounding very, very pleased.Kenna smiled against him. “Was that bothering you? You didn’t know that, already?” It was her turn to be amused. Raydan just grinned, and pulled her into another kiss, this time not bothering to look around.“Raydan,” Kenna said, almost breathless when they finally broke apart.“Yes?” He asked, eager.She wanted to do this right this time. “I love you.” She said. His breath seemed to catch at his throat. He swallowed. “Kenna Rys. There’ll never be a day when I don’t love you.” He said, making her feel moved. She bite her lip, caressing him in her hands. “And I, you.” She returned.“Aha! I knew it!” A voice was heard across the room. They both turned into its direction, immediately, to watch the figure behind it.It was Zenobia, standing there with a satisfied smirk. “Totally called it.” She said, before turning away and slamming the door after herself.Raydan simply shrugged, smiling, while Kenna sifted her gaze from him to the closed door and forth.“So Zenobia seems to be the bird you mentioned earlier, and not Aurynn?” She guessed again, chuckling this time.“Might be.” Raydan kissed her cheek. “Let’s get out of here.” He suggested. “Way ahead of you.” She took his hand and pulled him into the corridor, knowing exactly where she wanted to lead him to.
