so in the musical Victoria was the jellicle bride and before that it was Teazers and she and Mungo had a pas de deux before that was Deme. Usually the bride is the youngest adult queen but it can also be the newest cat in the tribe (Bomba is younger but Deme joined after her Bomba was also a bit too old for a young bride) having a pas de deux is important for luck but not essential Cettie didnt have a pas de deux when she was the bride. the pas de deux isnt exactly like a wedding but it is very romantic. The most important thing the bride does is open the ball and dance throughout the night.

thats all and explanation of how funny Mima and Flickers pining is bc Flickers was the bride for the ball after Cettie and she was really worried and unsure of herself and being a part of the tribe and didnt want to have an unlucky ball by not having a pas de deux so Mima volunteered both of them knowing its a super romantic thing and then after both went “well he/she didnt mean it like that. they were just being friendly” for years. it was torture
