I've been trying to avoid wading too far into the ongoing Gen AI controversy (surrounding the cover "art" for TFF's upcoming live album) but . . .
But. For the record, I'm shaken, and not in a good way.
I love TFF's music, but I have multiple objections to images created with Gen AI tools.
And I'm saddened and disappointed that in the face of fan criticism online, the band has chosen to ignore those fans and instead release a tone-deaf announcement as of two days ago (Sept. 20).
Tumblr media
Do they seriously think that the concept of an astronaut in a sunflower field is original? Do they seriously believe that this person used "mixed media"? Do they believe that fans will believe their claim to have been fans of this person's work for "a long time"? His social media presence as an AI "artist" doesn't go back all that far.
I'm also disappointed that Curt re-tweeted this announcement. As a member of the band I expect that he signed off on it, and likely had a hand in writing it--but by re-tweeting it, it feels as if he, personally, is giving fans a big middle finger.
. . . one last thing, fwiw. Gen AI is a triggering subject for me, given the events of last year. My partner had a prolonged psychotic break, and Gen AI was a major contributing factor.
Words don't exist to explain the horror I felt as I watched him become addicted to the technology, and then . . . yeah. Anyway. Suffice it to say that during some very dark times, music was a great comfort to me. TFF's music took me to a place where I felt emotionally safe--where I felt comforted and understood.
And for them--for them, specifically, of all the bands that I enjoy--to embrace AI . . . I feel sick over it.
I can't decide what to do with the tickets I bought to see them in Vegas. I may just resell them and be done with it. I keep picturing myself there and seeing AI-generated imagery on the big screen, and thinking about how I'd feel . . .

My sister was lucky enough to get six tickets to the Taylor Swift concert in New Jersey for face value ($130) through Ticketmaster Verified Fans. She is using three of them for me, herself and my megafan daughter, and then decided recently to sell the remaining three. She looked at ticket prices online and seats in our section were being offered for around $3,000 each, plus the $900 in fees added on the last page of checkout.
She asked me to post them in a large Manhattan-moms Facebook group I am a member of for $2,400 each or best offer. I acknowledged that this was a bonkers price for these seats, but cheaper than the current market. We thought this was a win-win as people could go to the concert for less than they would pay through a ticket site, and we wouldn’t have to pay seller’s fees.
Instead, I got several angry messages and comments from strangers saying the price was unreasonable. One person asked what my sister paid for the tickets and said that it was wrong to ask for so much more than that original price.
As these tickets were for a fun, optional event and not anything essential like masks during a pandemic, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with profiting from them and charging market prices. Am I missing something? Do I owe strangers “reasonable” resale values? — Name Withheld
From the Ethicist:
Ordinarily, if you buy something, you’re entitled to sell it on, and to do so at whatever price the market has set. But the only reason you can resell a ticket at many times the original price is that the artist had decided to offer them for less than she could get, and so make them affordable to fans of more modest means. When people, or their army of bots, buy those lower-priced tickets in order to resell them, they’re abusing that restraint, and reducing the availability of seats at more reasonable prices.
That’s the case against Swift scalpers. But your sister didn’t buy these tickets to resell them. She just wound up with three she can’t use and had to distribute them somehow. People in your online community thus gained the opportunity to buy them for a good deal less than they’d be charged on, say, StubHub, though still a hefty sum. Had she offered them for close to what she paid and forfeited a steep markup, someone else might well have flipped the tickets and pocketed that profit. Besides, if the Manhattan moms didn’t like the price, all they had to do was not pay it. That’s how markets work. The trouble is that some members of this Facebook group, it seems, don’t think it’s an arena where market values should operate. As a member of the group, you should consider whether they’re entitled to this feeling — or whether they should shake it off.

it's raining today and i am also super low on spoons today so i can't take a pic of all my furbies together yet. i want to soon though, for an updated introduction post to all my furbies!
but i also am wondering. so basically what happened is i somehow accidentally ordered a non-japanese frog furby first, which arrived in a box with english on it alerting me to my mistake. that furby has brown eyes. it is un tested and still connected to the box by its feet. my japanese furby (was thankfully still available when i realised it wasn't the one i ordered lol) has blue eyes. but i REALLY want them to have brown eyes.
i COULD swap their eyes but if i decide to resell the english furby then it might be bad bc then it won't be connected to the box anymore. or, does anyone have a link to where i can buy eye chips that look like the original furby eyes? bc i don't really want any fancy ones...
OR i could find a pretty pair of green eye chips online... OR i could find eye chips shaped like a frog's eyes AHHH the indecision
what should i do lol on one hand i feel like i want the original furby style brown eyes. i def don't want to keep the blue ones... but also i'd feel bad taking the brown eye chips from the other furby ... bc i don't Really need 2 frog furbies... there are too many other furbies i want and frog furbies are expensive so i kinda need to resell the one. :/ bleh
someone give me your opinions lol

YAY SEPTEMBER, CLOVERCOIN IS BACK!
[ Original Patreon Post ] Phew, almost forgot the life updates after doing all those art packs in the other post. So let's catch up with what's happening with CloverCoin! Life has been very very busy since I got back from my mom's funeral. Our dog Junior (rottie) had a previous elbow injury that wasn't healing over and when I got back home we decided to take him to the vet for a second look since the pain meds they gave us ran out. Turns out Junior had big swollen ball of cancer in his elbow and he was never going to regain function in that arm again. He was in so much pain we were really apprehensive on what the right course of action was. But the vets all worked with us since they knew Junior so well from all his previous visits, with their help we managed to get an extra fast amputation surgery scheduled for the infected arm. It was extremely expensive but it gave our dog immediate pain relief while we figured what treatment plan we were going to do next. Originally we all thought it was bone cancer and that he would likely need to be put down to avoid further pain in the very near future even with his amputation. With further testing and investigation of his cancer arm, we found out it was actually a type of blood cancer of his white blood cells. We all assumed if it's blood and fluid that must mean it's everywhere, right? We were wrong AGAIN! Wither further scans we found no further signs of cancer growth in his body, lymph nodes, or organs. With this new information we made the decision as a family to pursue oncologist for Junior and get him chemo / cancer treatments. It drained the rest of our savings account that we've been working so hard for to buy a house next summer... But Junior himself has completely bounced back to the happy dog he's always been. He's eating again, learning how to run and play on his one foreleg, and just excited to still be here. So while it did cost all of my savings, I have to say it's been worth it. With his reviewed case, he went from less than 6 months to live to possibly living 2-3+ more years now. So we're all so happy and grateful to still have our service boy still with us. Now that we're on a routine with Junior and his chemo treatments, I'm also getting back to work on my end! CloverCoin Patreon is back online for September 2024! We're so excited to see so many patrons stuck around and how excited you all are for more art! Thank you!!! I'm currently working on setting up a Bigcartel shop page with all of our stickers and postcard goods. I'll be sure to announce the shop's grand opening here soon as it's all ready. Thank you so much for all of my patrons testing out merch every month with me so we can make this possible! Last big to-do on my list now is that my current desktop Cintiq is not working for me. We had an original Cintiq 22 HD from 2014. But that poor thing died last year. We ordered a new tablet on super sale from amazon but.... We're very unhappy with the product and it doesn't work with my desk or work station. So we'll be taking it down and trying to resell it to get our money back. However this means I still do not have a desktop tablet to work with for online streams and recordings. REALLY BUMS ME OUT! I'm very fortunate that I still have my ipad and it's been working great. So I'm not totally without a tablet for work. But Prov and I will now be making an effort to replace my Cintiq tablet with a new one maybe before the year is over. Ouch my poor savings account, it's already taken such a beating from all the vet bills and now I have to replace very expensive hardware? yuck! So... Lots of money being spent. But overall we're very lucky and we're so happy. I'm just so grateful to have my happy dog recovering really well. I'm glad my ipad works great even after being beat up for past 7-8 years?? Woah! Good job lil buddy. Just... A lot has gone wrong this year. A lot of bad shit has happened. And Prov and I are so damn lucky to be here and have everything we do. So I'm going to keep working VERY HARD to get all this updated, shop posted, commissions completed, and make back every single dime of my savings!!! OR SO HELP ME! >:0 Thanks everyone for sticking it out while we're figuring out every bump in the road. We really appreciate all your patience and kindness. You're all the best and I can't wait to share even more art with you all! AJD . ART

any tips for shopping on sites with individual sellers (don’t really know what this specific Type of site is called but like depop etsy ebay etc)? i really love vintage and thrift and i appreciate online resellers for the accessibility, but i’m totally new to this in regards to weeding out scammers, curating my recommendations, etc
hey!! thrifting online is one of my fave things so im very happy to give u some tips :') the Big Five for me is depop, poshmark, mercari (although they've recently raised their fees so be aware of that), etsy, and ebay. i shop the most on depop because i find it to be the most active app and just a really intuitive interface in terms of messaging sellers, curating ur likes, etc. poshmark has a less broad selection of vintage clothing but sellers on there are more likely to make u really good offers on items. etsy is a more curated vintage shopping experience but prices can be artificially inflated on there. ebay can be sort of a wild card, but it should never be counted out, especially as sellers flood the other more "hip" platforms with high prices.
for curating ur recommendations, start out broad and then narrow in from there. literally just typing in "vintage (color) (article of clothing)" can be a great place to start and give u a sense of both what u like and how sellers on the platforms describe and tag their items. the whole "niche aesthetic" movement is annoying, but it can help u find items that really appeal to ur tastes because sellers will label those aesthetics in an attempt to get more eyes on their items. for example, i hate the whole "coquette" thing, but sometimes ill search the term to find pink, princessy type articles of clothing. u can also search by a particular decade or by a fashion icon u want to emulate, especially on depop and etsy. as u start searching and adding items to ur likes, the algorithm gets better at giving u targeted recommendations and u can get more particular and specific with ur search queries or find sellers that u find offer a good vintage selection (for a FAIR price. do not let a seller convince u that a pretty vintage dress with obvious flaws is worth 200 dollars.)
other things: take ur measurements with a tape measure before shopping (bust, waist, hips, height). vintage sizing is weird and so most (educated) vintage sellers will give the measurements of an item of clothing, which can help u decide if it will fit (ex. i, as a rule, dont buy dresses shorter than 33 inches because i have learned that they will be too short on me and thus will be wasting my money). if the listing only has a few pictures of the item, message the seller and ask for more. never feel bad about asking for more photos or details about the item. if the listing includes a flaw (split stitches, stains), ask the seller if they have tried anything to repair the flaw yet (u may not want to take a risk on an article if the seller has already tried and failed to remove the stains) and do not buy if u are not willing to invest in repairing the item: its just not worth it. as for scamming, do not buy anything from a depop seller who has no reviews/ratings yet. theres less of a scamming problem for vintage on the other platforms (poshmark scammers usually target people buying designer or expensive items), but if u are going to buy a more expensive item secondhand, do not buy a listing that only has pictures from the official site or advertisements: get pictures of the person holding it and make them specific. make offers on items, especially if they are overpriced. get details from the seller. always think critically about the price being presented to u and ask urself if u would buy the same item new with defects: vintage does not inherently mean more valuable.

What are CPA networks?
Advertising has proven to be effective. That's why today there are a lot of advertising platforms for advertisers to attract even more customers. CPA networks are a place where you can order advertising from third-party contractors. Therefore, in this article, I decided to understand in more detail what a CPA network is.
Affiliate programmes or CPA networks are a service that acts as an intermediary between an advertiser (seller) and a webmaster (partner) and places ads on its own platforms. CPA (cost per action) stands for cost per action.
Tumblr media
CPA networks are platforms where an advertiser pays money if a user performs a necessary action on the website when they go through the traffic channel provided by the affiliate. This can be a purchase, ordering, registration, requesting a callback, downloading an app, etc.
Advertisers are primarily interested in cooperation with pay per lead. Here it is important to choose a CPA network that guarantees high-quality traffic in order not to waste money and drain the advertising budget.
CPA networks bring advertisers and webmasters together on one platform for cooperation. The customer pays the CPA network provider a fixed fee or percentage (specified in the contract) for each targeted action performed by the user.
How to cooperate with CPA networks?
Large companies and brands cooperate with various resources through CPA networks. These can be blogs, news and information websites. CPA networks organise communication between the advertiser and the contractor. Given the number of offers, it is inconvenient to do it manually. That is why "offer aggregators" or CPA networks for webmasters have appeared.
A CPA network enters into an agreement with any online resource for the placement of ad units. The advertiser places an offer or TOR (terms of reference) for the webmaster. After checking it, the CPA network grants access to webmasters. CPA network agents accept the task if it corresponds to the topic of the website or works in a given niche. When a client comes from a certain ad unit and performs a targeted action (conversion), the webmaster receives payment.
CPA networks perform the following functions:
searching for and attracting advertisers;
search for responsible webmasters, excluding unscrupulous employees;
traffic arbitrage, calculation of targeted processes, analytics of advertising efficiency;
analysis of webmasters' performance;
creation of advertising materials, if necessary;
calculation of the average payment for a targeted action;
determining the terms and conditions.
The scheme of CPA networks is simple and looks like this: the owner of CPA networks buys traffic, receives leads and resells them to the seller of goods and services. The popularity of the CPA network where the advertisement is placed determines the advertising rate.
Ways to earn money on CPA networks?
To earn money, you can register in any CPA network. The list of CPA networks is wide, so you need to choose which one suits you. There are several ways to make money on CPA networks.
OWN WEBSITE, LANDING PAGE
It can be a simple one-page website with a narrow offer. You can also create an informational or useful blog, a forum, where users will come from. It is worth noting that this method is long-term - you need to promote your website with SEO to increase not only the volume of traffic but also its quality.
Webmasters place links to CPA networks on their own websites and attract traffic directly from search engines. There are practically no risks here, and you can also connect other monetisation methods provided by CPA networks. The disadvantages include the time spent and the complexity of implementation, as you need to develop your project from scratch.
SOCIAL NETWORKS
Posts in groups and personal pages attract interested users to CPA networks. Social networks can be considered a good source of targeted traffic for CPA networks. You can also run targeted advertising here. In order to make money on CPA networks on social networks, you should pay attention to the development of the page, choose thematic affiliate programmes for CPA networks that are close to the niche.
TRAFFIC ARBITRAGE
This is a quick way to make money in CPA networks by selling traffic. The main meaning of this method is: cheap to buy - expensive to sell. To make money on CPA networks, you need to get leads cheaper than the CPA network that will buy them from you.
Tumblr media
There are many risks here, as it is possible to waste your advertising budget on traffic acquisition without making a single purchase. On the other hand, you can get a bigger profit from one offer at once.
CPA networks sometimes set restrictions and allow webmasters to use traffic arbitrage. For example, CPA networks do not allow contextual advertising, since the customer already launches advertising campaigns and spends additional funds.
It is normal for beginners to fail to earn a lot of money in CPA networks right away. In this work, you need to improve your skills in working with advertising of this format. To earn income with CPA, you need to spend less on traffic purchase than the webmaster will receive from the advertiser.
Who is a CPA network for?
CPA networks are a part of online marketing. Most often, the CPA network system will be of interest to businesses that are engaged in mass production with a wide geographical distribution and a competitive price. These include online stores, online gaming platforms, bookmakers, travel agencies, booking services, and online learning sites.
Who is not suitable for CPA networks? Companies that offer narrow-profile products or work in the B2B sector. If you decide to use CPA networks for cooperation, it is important to track the completion of the target action. You should also check CPA networks for fraud and install protection.
Payment models in CPA networks
The most popular payment models in CPA networks include:
Cost per Lead (CPL) - a payment model that pays only for a lead. This format implies not only conversion but also customers who have confirmed and left contact details for communication.
Cost per Click (CPC) - the advertiser pays for a click on the advert that the user clicks on. The cost per click is calculated according to the auction system.
CPM (Cost per mille) - the price per 1 thousand ad impressions.
CPS (Cost per Sale) - the cost of one paid order, already made sale.
CPI (Cost per Install) - the price of installing an application. Calculate the price for the target action
To calculate the price for a targeted action in the CPA network, you should use the formula:
CPA = advertising costs / number of target audience * 100% (if you want to calculate the percentage)
What does targeted action mean?
The advertiser pays only for the client who performs the action specified by the advertiser. A targeted action in a CPA network leads to a complete conversion.
It can be:
conversion of a user who visited the website into a lead;
sale of goods with payment;
request for a call;
subscription to the newsletter;
installation of an application;
filling out and submitting a form on the website;
going to a certain section/page.
Other targeted actions according to the CPA model include watching a video, filling out a questionnaire, adding an item to the basket, downloading a file, or an infographic.
Tools of CPA networks
CPA networks use various tools to attract customers:
remarketing
product recommendation service
promotional codes and discounts
generation of banners and ads based on feeds
abandoned shopping cart tracking tool for retargeting and emailing returning visitors
chat agents
Each of the CPA networks uses different sets of tools, but more often than not, affiliate programmes do not differ in a wide variety and duplicate functions.
Tumblr media
How to choose the right CPA network?
This is a key question if you do not know what CPA networks are and how to work with them. This applies not only to beginners but also to experienced arbitrageurs. Here are some tips that will help you choose and work with CPA networks.
It is important to pay attention to:
Feedback from other arbitrageurs will help you to understand the weaknesses and strengths of the CPA network and decide whether it is worth working with the affiliate programme.
The presence of own offers indicates the level of the CPA network. If the indicator is high, the affiliate offers favourable rates compared to competitors.
Percentage of approval in the CPA network. A low rate indicates unfavourable conditions and wasted time.
The frequency of new offers and conditions confirms that the CPA network is active.
Minimal restrictions on payments in CPA networks.
The presence of a CPA network commission. You should consider how profitable it is to withdraw your own funds.
The holding period is the time for lead confirmation in CPA networks. Some platforms may delay the approval and pay out money not on time.
High-quality support service of CPA networks. Managers should promptly respond to requests in their personal accounts or messengers.
Bonuses. Some CPA networks hold prize draws.
The best CPA networks are a list of platforms that combine favourable conditions for offers and high-quality service. The management of CPA networks should support arbitrageurs, webmasters, and advertisers at the same time.
What is an offer in CPA networks and why it is necessary
An offer in CPA networks is a commercial offer for a webmaster. It includes all the important information about traffic sources, as well as a description of the affiliate programme, a portrait of the target audience, and commission data for the target action (conversion).
The structure of an offer in CPA networks consists of:
name and description;
traffic restrictions set by the client;
banner and active link;
conditions by traffic sources.
All offers in CPA networks are divided into groups based on the subject matter, for example, financial, gaming, product, etc. The price for an offer in CPA networks varies depending on the topic.
The offer of CPA networks implies a detailed condition under which partners should be involved in order to implement actions.
When choosing an offer, you should pay attention to conversion, approval (upvote), and profit from each transition. The source of traffic should be indicated in the application for connection to the offer.

Finding out Taylor Swift was her 11th cousin twice-removed wasn’t even the most shocking discovery Cher Scarlett made while exploring her family history. “There’s a lot of stuff in my family that’s weird and strange that we wouldn’t know without Ancestry,” says Scarlett, a software engineer and writer based in Kirkland, Washington. “I didn’t even know who my mum’s paternal grandparents were.”
Ancestry.com isn’t the only site that Scarlett checks regularly. In February 2022, the facial recognition search engine PimEyes surfaced non-consensual explicit photos of her at age 19, reigniting decades-old trauma. She attempted to get the pictures removed from the platform, which uses images scraped from the internet to create biometric “faceprints” of individuals. Since then, she’s been monitoring the site to make sure the images don’t return.
In January, she noticed that PimEyes was returning pictures of children that looked like they came from Ancestry.com URLs. As an experiment, she searched for a grayscale version of one of her own baby photos. It came up with a picture of her own mother, as an infant, in the arms of her grandparents—taken, she thought, from an old family photo that her mother had posted on Ancestry. Searching deeper, Scarlett found other images of her relatives, also apparently sourced from the site. They included a black-and-white photo of her great-great-great-grandmother from the 1800s, and a picture of Scarlett’s own sister, who died at age 30 in 2018. The images seemed to come from her digital memorial, Ancestry, and Find a Grave, a cemetery directory owned by Ancestry.
PimEyes, Scarlett says, has scraped images of the dead to populate its database. By indexing their facial features, the site’s algorithms can help those images identify living people through their ancestral connections, raising privacy and data protection concerns, as well as ethical ones.
“My sister is dead,” Scarlett says. “She can’t consent or revoke consent for being enrolled in this.”
Ancestry spokesperson Katherine Wylie tells WIRED that the site’s customers maintain ownership and control over their data, including family trees, and that its terms and conditions “prohibit scraping data, including photos, from Ancestry’s sites and services as well as reselling, reproducing, or publishing any content or information found on Ancestry.”
Giorgi Gobronidze, PimEyes’ director, tells WIRED: “PimEyes only crawls websites who officially allow us to do so. It was … very unpleasant news that our crawlers have somehow broken the rule.” PimEyes is now blocking Ancestry’s domain and indexes related to it are being erased, he says.
Ancestry’s database is the largest in the increasingly expanding genealogy industry, with more than 30 billion records—including photos and documents from public records—covering 20 million people. Users can access these records to make family trees. Whenever a user makes a family tree public on the site, deceased people’s photos can be seen by any registered user. Living people aren’t viewable in family trees unless tree creators authorize specific accounts to see them. Users can decide what is private or public on their profiles, which are searchable in Ancestry’s member directory.
PimEyes positions itself as a tool for people to monitor their online presence. The company charges users $20 to find the websites where their photos have been found, upwards of $30 a month for multiple searches, and $80 to exclude specific photos from future search results.
The company, which has trawled social media for images but now says it scrapes only publicly available sources, has been criticized for collecting images of children and accused of facilitating stalking and abuse. (Gobronidze, who took over PimEyes in January 2022, says that this criticism predates his tenure at PimEyes, and that the company’s policies have since changed.)
“They are clearly crawling all sorts of random websites,” says Daniel Leufer, a senior policy analyst at digital rights group Access Now. “There’s something very grim, especially about the obituary ones.”
The dead aren’t generally protected under privacy laws, but processing their image and data isn’t automatically fair game, says Sandra Wachter, a professor of technology and regulation at the Oxford Internet Institute. “Just because the data doesn’t belong to a person anymore does not automatically mean you are allowed to take it. If it’s a person who has died we have to figure out who has rights over it.”
The European Convention of Human Rights has ruled that pictures of dead people can have a privacy interest for the living, according to Lilian Edwards, professor of law, innovation, and society at Newcastle University in the UK, who says that using photos of the living mined from the web without consent can also be a potential violation of the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which prohibits the processing of biometric data to identify people without their consent.
“If in some way the picture of the dead person … could lead to someone living being likely to be identified, then it could be protected under the GDPR,” says Edwards. This can be done by putting two bits of information together, she adds, such as a photo from PimEyes and information from Ancestry. PimEyes makes itself available in Europe, so it is subject to the legislation.
Scarlett worries that PimEyes’ technology could be used to identify people and then dox, harass, or abuse them—a concern shared by human rights organizations. She says her mom’s name, address, and phone number were just a reverse image search and three clicks away from the family photo scraped from Ancestry.
While it positions itself as a privacy tool, there are few barriers stopping PimEyes users from searching any face. Its home screen gives little indication that it’s intended for people to search only for themselves.
Gobronidze tells WIRED that PimEyes launched a “multistep security protocol” on January 9 to prevent people from searching multiple faces or children; PimEyes’ partners, however, including certain NGOs, are “whitelisted” to perform unlimited searches. PimEyes has so far blocked 201 accounts, Gobronidze says.
However, a WIRED search for Scarlett and her mother—conducted with their permission—retrieved matches unchallenged. WIRED also found evidence of online message-board users with subscriptions taking requests from others to identify women with pictures found online.
Gobronidze says the system is still in the “training process.”
In Washington state, Scarlett filed a consumer complaint about PimEyes to the state’s attorney general and has opted out using its “opt out” form, which promises to remove people’s data from its system, twice—once in March 2022 and again in October after her face reappeared.
Scarlett’s mother also opted out in January 2023, she says. However, searches by WIRED revealed both their faces were still surfaced by the platform on March 1.
Gobronidze says that PimEyes erased over 22 results of Scarlett after her first request and 400 after the second, and performed a search using the photo she opted out with, failing to locate any images of her in its database. However, if a user opts out with a specific photo, other images may still appear. The “opt out engine will not work with 100 percent efficiency always,” Gobronidze said.
Legal scrutiny is intensifying for AI companies that populate their databases by crawling the web for faces. Clearview AI, a company that mainly sells facial recognition services to law enforcement, is facing a class action in Illinois and fines for breaking data protection laws across Europe, including the UK, where the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), an independent watchdog, ordered the company to delete all residents’ data. Clearview has denied misconduct and argued that it shouldn’t be subject to neither European data protection laws nor the jurisdiction of the ICO.
In November, UK-based rights group Big Brother Watch submitted a legal complaint about PimEyes to the ICO for “unlawful processing” of people’s data. Germany’s state commissioner for data protection has opened proceedings against the site for processing biometric data. Gobronidze says the company has been “proactively submitting” information to the ICO.
Gobronidze says it is “absolutely impossible” to establish identities using its database. “We gather index data, which connects photographs not with human individuals but to the URL addresses which publish those photographs.” PimEyes says it indexes photos but does not store the images themselves. Gobronidze adds that PimEyes does not process photos to establish identities but to find website addresses. “PimEyes does not identify human beings but only URLs,” he said.
Leufer, however, says PimEyes is “significantly enabling and facilitating the process of identification of people” based on photos. “While I think he’s correct to say that PimEyes won’t directly through their website give you that person’s identity, you’re a click away from a website that does have their name on it,” he says. “It’s going to give you a load of URLs which in many cases will allow you to identify that person.”
Scarlett fears those links could expose entire families to privacy violations.
“I used [Ancestry] for what it’s intended for—to find out where I come from. It was really exciting until it wasn’t,” she says. “Nobody is uploading photos into Ancestry thinking that they’re going to be enrolled into a biometric identifier for facial recognition software without their knowledge or consent … It just feels incredibly violating.”

— INTRODUCING: flora summers.
aisha dee & she/her cis woman ‷ watch out , flora summers has crash-landed into roswell !! they look twenty-eight years old and celebrate their birthday on the twenty-first of june. they are from roswell, new mexico, reside in aurora apartments and are currently working as a clerk and seamstress at better off duds. one thing you should know about them is that she won’t be caught dead wearing boring clothes and has her own little side project as a freelance textile designer called to dye for where she designs prints and patterns, creates her own custom pieces to sell online and happily takes commissions‷
The Basics.
Full Name: Flora Summers Face Claim: Aisha Dee Pronouns and Gender: ciswoman (she/her) Birthday and Age: June 21st, 1994 (28) Zodiac: gemini ☉ sagittarius ☽ pisces ➶ Hometown: Roswell, NM How long have they been living there? All her life. Sexuality: bisexual Neighborhood: Aurora Apartments Occupation: Seamstress at Better off Duds & Freelance Textile Designer Family: Harold Summers (father), Louane Summers (mother)
The Personality.
A lot of people poke fun at Flora’s name, mostly because she really does live up to it. She’s a bright, warm presence that is usually both empathetic and level-headed. That doesn’t mean that she doesn’t pack a punch though, considering that every now and then she can crack a joke to break the silence or make a snarky remark that seemingly slips out. Overall, Flora is a loveable dork that will go out of her way to help those out who need it and always makes time for an extra job or two. On her bad days, Flora can be a bit too in her head, overthinking every little choice she’s ever made and beating herself up over not being enough. Yet, she tries not to give into it and tries to face herself with the same humor and enthusiasm she has in store for her friends and loved ones.
The Biography.
Flora’s parents own the local thrift store Better Off Duds and are known as a warm and kind presence in the town. They used to be big fish in the fashion industry - her mom’s a fashion designer, her dad’s a tailor but they realized that it was never quite what they wanted from their life and decided to move back home and start anew.
From a young age, Flora knew that fashion was the field she wanted to get into as well, considering she was always so curious about her family’s work and what they did to help resell the clothes they got, tailoring and fixing them before doing so and creating something new out of something old
thanks to that idea, she’s never liked buying new clothing - she’s very much into the sustainable kind of lifestyle and does a lot of re- and upcycling in whatever capacity she can
in fact, she’s been doing so since she was a kid! She was always obsessed with making her clothes more personalized and eventually started sewing on patches of colorful fabrics onto her torn up clothes, drew on her jeans or dyed them if her mom let her get away with it
school was never really what she wanted to do either. she was a good student and liked to learn new things but she knew she’d probably be better off not going to college
instead, she worked at the store and helped her parents as much as she could and in return had time to take courses (ranging from pattern making, to design and sewing) to improve her skills. Before she knew it, she traveled across the country to attend textiles trade shows for inspiration
over the years, she got better and better at her craft and with her parents’ help and a lot of practice, she’s now a self-taught seamstress and freelance textile designer
her interest in the latter eventually resulted in a pipe dream of hers - an online business called To Dye For which is rather popular around town. It’s where she designs prints and patterns and creates her own custom pieces. She sells some at the store in her very own little section but takes on commissions as well!
It’s easy for her to win clients over by being friendly and not afraid to talk and connect to people - she got that from her dad who is a very kind presence and considering she grew up in the store, she picked up on it quickly and adapted it to her everyday life
Today, the Summers still upcycle clothes in their spare time and have their own little extra section in the store.
Ultimately, Flora wants nothing more than to make parents proud and continue her life in the town, yet she’s constantly torn between wanting to pursue her business growth and planning on taking over her parents’ store one day.
She doesn’t want to disappoint them but also doesn’t know how to combine her dream with the vision she had for herself ever since she was a kid
Her life had always been very structured and planned but nowadays, she has the need to break free without leaving her roots behind - a constant struggle she’s still learning to deal with.
The Connections.
friends (childhood friends since she's a local, new friends, fellow fashion enthusiasts,...)
customers
someone who helps her pack her online business orders and will listen to her rants about design choices
anything really!
There's a more descriptive connections page here.

Taylor Swift fans rush to sell Wembley Stadium tickets
Taylor Swift fans are selling their tickets for the singer’s next run of London shows – just days after a foiled terror plot at the Vienna leg of the Eras Tour.
Despite the immense popularity of the concerts, which Austrian officials expected to be attended by 65,000 people within the stadium itself and a further 30,000 outside, some fans may have thought twice about attending after a suspect in the foiled plot said he wanted “to kill as many people as possible”.
Ticket resell website Viagogo now has dozens of tickets for London dates listed for prices between £500 to as much as £5,000.
Tumblr media
A significant amount of tickets for the typically sold-out shows have also become available on Ticketmaster.
One Taylor Swift fan revealed on Twitter/X that they had been left so frightened by the foiled plot that they will not even step foot in the capital, let alone Wembley Stadium, where the concerts are taking place.
They wrote: “Having to cancel my trip to London to see Taylor Swift because people can’t just not be a**holes is insane, my anxiety won’t even let me think of stepping foot in London and even worse the stadium.”
A second similarly shared: “It’s so easy for me to just cancel my weekend rn that’s how unsafe I feel, but then I think of all the money I’ve spent and I’m just trying to put a bit of faith in the security .” [sic]
London Mayor Sadiq Khan said the city will “carry on” to host the five shows between the 15th and 20th of August after the American superstar’s Vienna dates were cancelled on Wednesday.
The cancellation followed the arrest of two teenagers, aged 19 and 17, on Tuesday and the questioning of a 15-year-old in connection to the terror plot.
The 19-year-old is reported to be the main suspect in the case and had previously pledged allegiance to the current leader of the Islamic State online.
Materials to produce a bomb were discovered in his home, while evidence of support for the terrorist group Al-Qaeda was found in the other suspect’s.
Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer defended the decision to cancel the shows but acknowledged fans’ disappointment.
“I understand very well that those who wanted to experience the concert live are very sad,” Nehammer said at a press conference.
“Mums and dads are looking after their daughters and sons, who were full of enthusiasm and anticipation for this concert. But it’s also important that in such serious moments as now, it’s inevitable that safety comes first.”
Authorities announced today that a third suspect, aged 18, had been arrested last night in connection with the plot.
The foiled terror plot – in which the main suspect planned to commit suicide with explosives – comes after 22 people, including children, lost their lives in a similar incident at an Ariana Grande concert in 2017.
Swift expressed her concern about playing to large audiences in the wake of the Manchester Arena incident.
“I was completely terrified to go on [the Lover Tour] this time because I didn’t know how we were going to keep 3 million fans safe over seven months,” she told Elle magazine in 2019.
“There was a tremendous amount of planning, expense, and effort put into keeping my fans safe.”
But while some fans have decided not to attend shows, others have admitted that despite being frightened, they will still attend.
Lorelei Petchu, president of the Taylor Swift society at University College London, told Reuters: “Last night I was panicking a little bit. We did consider selling our tickets, but we calmed down.
“We have seen the statements that have been put out and are feeling good about going again.”
Another undeterred fan said they are convinced that the upcoming London shows will be even safer now.
“Security is gonna be ramped up even more now [and] be safer than it would have been,” they wrote on Twitter/X.
Don’t let them win by scaring us in to not living our lives [and] don’t miss out on this experience if you can go!”
Other social media users expressed their hope that security will be tight at the upcoming concerts.
“I sincerely hope that security for the upcoming Taylor Swift concerts is on high alert,” one Twitter/X user wrote to the official Downing Street account.
The Independent has reached out to Viagogo and a representative for Taylor Swift for comment.

HostArmada Review: The Most Customer Centric Hosting Platform Yet?
New Post has been published on https://thedigitalinsider.com/hostarmada-review-the-most-customer-centric-hosting-platform-yet/
HostArmada Review: The Most Customer Centric Hosting Platform Yet?
When I decided to switch my hosting provider, I stumbled on HostArmada and decided to give them a shot. It was a risky choice, though. Emerging providers are, sometimes, not recommendable because of their unproven reliability and limited track record. But HostArmada proves to be different. Entirely different.
HostArmada swept me off my feet with its advanced security and performance-focused features out-of-the-box. What’s more, their servers are hosted on LiteSpeed web servers – almost 11X faster than the Apache servers! As a website owner and developer, I’ve evaluated and tested different hosting providers to find the best fit for my clients and projects. I can boldly say it’s one of the best new hosts I’ve reviewed, and you’ll soon find out why.
In the rest of this HostArmada review, I’ll conduct real-life tests to evaluate this host’s features, pricing plans, performance and customer support. I also included other vitals to help you make an informed decision. Ready? Let’s get started!
HostArmada Review
HostArmada made its debut into the hosting industry five years ago. fresh to the scene. Though they’re still fresh to the scene, they have quickly climbed the ranks to become one of the most popular and reliable web hosts on the internet. In fact, this host is often pitted against industry giants like BlueHost, Hostinger and A2 Hosting…all because of its reliability, speed and performance.
Of course, since they’re less than a decade in the game, one would expect basic features out-of-the-box. However, during my research, I discovered that each feature/tool on their platform is designed to give you a stress-free, secure and optimized web performance.
Like every A-list provider, HostArmada offers all kinds of web hosting you’ll need – WordPress, shared reseller, VPS, and dedicated hosting services. In addition, they also provide open source and development hosting for developers and programmers.
Whichever plan you choose to settle for, you’ll enjoy all the default hosting features such as free SSL certificates, WAF & network firewall, daily backups, etc. They don’t offer free trials or demos, but you get a 45-day money-back guarantee period to decide if they’re worth your investment.
The company snagged a 4.9 star review from over 800 users on TrustPilot:
HostArmada Rating – my personal take
Do your research. You’ll find hundreds (if not thousands) of web hosting providers, each promising secure, reliable, and fast performance. In my experience using and reviewing web hosts, I’ve discovered that a sheer number of them aren’t true to their words. Even the best of them sometimes fall short of their claims.
To evaluate each comparatively, I developed a personal web hosting review system that examines key factors such as performance, reliability, customer support, pricing and features. I use a 1 – 5 grading system, with one as the lowest and five as the highest a provider can get.
Quality My rating Why I gave this score Features and specs 4.9 Free SSL, backups, DoS/DDoS protection, NGINX & LiteSpeed web servers, SSD servers, and unlimited email accounts are a few features you’ll enjoy when you sign up with this provider. However, I gave them this score because their best features (LiteSpeed servers, for instance) are only available on the highest plans.  Pricing 4.5 HostArmada is one of the cheapest providers in the market, starting at $2.49/mo. You’ll enjoy many of their enterprise-grade features at this price (best if you’re just getting started online!) However, I discovered that the discounts only apply when you’re paying for a longer duration. This is why I awarded them this score.  Performance stats  4.7 I tested HostArmada’s performance and discovered they have an incredible loading speed (240ms) and uptime (100%). I’ve encountered hosts within the same price bracket with better performance stats, so I gave them a 4.7 here.  Ease of use 4.6 HostArmada has an attractive and user-friendly interface, an advantage for beginners and pros looking for a stress-free platform. But they still rely on the traditional cPanel for backend management, which is quite old-fashioned for me. This is why I gave them this score.  Customer support guarantee 5.0 Reach out to HostArmada’s support team at this second, and they’ll respond soon. Aside from their quick responses, they also offer up to five levels of customer support – email, phone, live chat, ticket and knowledgebase. This is why they have a 5.0 here.
HostArmada Hosting Plans & Pricing – 2024
Just like every other A-grade web host, HostArmada offers all the major types of web hosting – shared, reseller, wordpress, VPS and dedicated hosting.
They also have service-specific hosting plans, such as WooCommerce, Magento, Node.js, Open Source, and development hosting. As I shared earlier, you’ll get a 30-day money-back guarantee (this is only available for yearly payments). AAs you can see, this is also similar to the shared and open-source hosting plans. I recommend the Web Wrap plan to enjoy rich features at a friendly cost. Luckily, HostArmada’s plans are scalable, so you can seamlessly move to higher plans as your needs grow.
Who’s this for?
Well, you guessed right. The HostArmada Development Hosting plan is designed for developers or other IT professionals needing a developer-friendly hosting environment. You have full access to developer tools such as PHP, SQL, Python, Node.js, SSH access, WP – CLI, etc.
Now that we’ve covered the basics, let’s get into the exciting parts.
HostArmada’s Features
Here are some of the top features offered on all the HostArmada plans:
Free website transfer and SSL certificates
Unlimited databases and FTP accounts
Multiple PHP versions
24/7 human support
Free drag and drop SiteBuilder
Free WAF & IP Firewall
AMP EPYC CPU Cores
Daily backups
Yes…all of these are default hosting features. What makes HostArmada different from other providers in the same category?
For me, it’s their commitment to innovation and providing advanced and modern performance-based features at a competitive price. In fact, all their services pass ten levels of quality assessment before they are released to users!
For starters, I love how they invest in advanced speed-enhancing features. They use the latest AMD Epyc processors, identified as the fastest CPU processors compared to the AMD architectures. At the core of their services is the LiteSpeed web server, which outperforms Apache and Nginx servers combined!
Do you know that most of their services are fully managed? This means if you have other pressing business commitments or are growing beyond your capacity, you don’t have to worry about losing revenue because they manage the technical side of your web hosting.
Their quality customer support makes them top my list. As a website owner, I’ve had my fair share of struggles with web hosts with subpar customer service. Seeing HostArmada’s distinctive performance is a breath of fresh air. See what other users have to say:
Impressive!
HostArmada’s Performance
You’d hardly find a web host who’s upfront about its performance metrics. A good number of them promise reliable performance and speed with minimal downtime. How do you validate this?
Personally, I always recommend trying out the host’s performance before committing for the long term. Sometimes, you’ll find hosts willing to give you a demo or free trial to eliminate all guesses. HostArmada doesn’t offer any of these, so I’ll share my experience with this web host after purchasing their shared hosting plan.
For this test, we’ll focus on three vital performance metrics:
Uptime measures the reliability of your web host. It is the percentage of time your website is accessible to users. No web server is perfect, but a good uptime is 99.0% – 99.99%.
Load time measures how your web page loads when users click on the URL. A good loading time should be >3s.
TTFB measures the time a user takes to receive the first byte of data from your web server. Google recommends a TTFB of 800ms or less.
In a sentence, the faster (or lower) the load time and TTFB, the faster the server delivers your web data to users when they click on the URL. A good uptime also means your website will experience little to no downtime yearly, which is an advantage if you’re in the eCommerce or SaaS niche. All these metrics improve your search engine performance and conversion rates.
HostArmada uses NGINX & LiteSpeed web servers, has advanced caching features, SSD storage drives, high-performance AMD EPYC CPU Cores, and integrates with CloudFlare CDN (content delivery network) – all of which are designed to boost your performance above others hosted on average providers.
In addition, all the websites are hosted on the cloud, which means improved scalability, reliability and flexibility! They also promise a 99.9% uptime, which means your website will always be accessible except during scheduled maintenance.
Let’s validate their claims!
I used GTMetrix to test a website hosted on HostArmada and these were the results:
HostArmada’s performance didn’t fall short of my expectations! Their servers responded in 293ms (0.293s), which is impressive. The overall performance was 99%, which is super impressive.
To test their uptime, I used Uptime Robot to evaluate their performance in the last 30 days. Here’s what I got:
So far, their website has been experiencing 100% uptime, which validates their 99.99% uptime claims.
HostArmada’s Customer Support
HostArmada offers six levels of customer support – knowledgebase, tutorials, live chat, email, phone and ticket.
Let’s examine each in detail:
Knowledgebase
Are you new to web hosting? No problem! HostArmada has a rich resource that caters to almost all vitals on its platform. This includes DIY how-to articles on web hosting, open-source applications, billing and many more:
There’s also a search bar to help you find solutions to issues swiftly.
Tutorials:
If you prefer DIY solutions, you’ll love the detailed articles provided in the HostArmada Learning Center on how to get started or manage your website on their platform. They have a guide on almost all web hosting-related topics and website-relevant topics like how to use Google Analytics:
Support Ticket:
HostArmada also allows users to submit queries via an online ticket, although this is only available to paid users.
Phone:
If you prefer a faster response, HostArmada allows you to speak directly with any of their expert support team via phone. However, there are call charges for locations outside the US.
Live Chat:
HostArmada also allows you to chat live with their hosting experts 24/7/365. The live chat button is tucked at the bottom right corner of their website so that users can easily submit queries.
I initiated a chat to inquire about their services and test their response time. I got a response almost immediately.
Email
Lastly, if all other channels are unresponsive, you can reach out to them via email. You can easily create support tickets on their website that will automatically be forwarded to your email for further assistance.
The best part is that you can chat with specific agents for an even faster response. For example, if you’re experiencing issues related to payments, you can contact the sales department instead.
HostArmada’s security features
I personally love how HostArmada prioritizes the security of websites hosted on their platform. They go beyond the surface-level free SSL certificates and backups to provide top-of-the-line security features, even on their smallest plans.
Their security checks begin with their web servers. Unlike other hosts, they built a security system that checks every IP address connecting their web servers for threats and cyber attacks. For example, they reduce/eliminate the risks of DDoS attacks by establishing a ‘Connection Limit’ for each IP address. This limit reduces the number of requests sent from a single IP address.
Another advantage is their all-round security system – Environment Security Fleet – that secures user web hosting accounts and their associated files. They use advanced network firewalls (with reCAPTCHA protection) and WAF, intrusion detection and prevention systems, malware scanning, and OS patch management features to protect your website from further attacks.
Amazing!
There’s a caveat, though. HostArmada’s daily backups are limited (7 for the smallest shared hosting plan). I’ve seen other providers with similar features provide unlimited daily backups. I hope they can improve on this in the future.
HostArmada’s website builders
Another thing I love about this provider is how they’ve made it easier for anyone to kickstart their digital journey. They have an extensive domain directory where you can find and register the perfect domain for your business:
You can register your domain name for one year without paying any charge:
And when it’s time to build your website, you can opt for any of their plans to access their custom drag-and-drop website builder — HostArmada Website Builder:
You can also build your website with one-click on any of their affiliated CMSs – WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, PrestaShop, and Magento.
Note: If you’re choosing a specific website builder, for instance, WordPress, opt for the web hosting service that specializes or offers support for that platform. HostArmada has WordPress, WooCommerce, and Magento Hosting plans.
User-Friendliness – Ease of use
HostArmada has a modern and intuitive user interface. I find it attractive at first glance, likely because of the blue, purple and pink pastel colors. The icons and texts are also well placed, which makes it easy for anyone to operate, even for beginners. Having a modern design is only one part of the puzzle. Let’s see how easy it is to register and manage an account on HostArmada:
Registering an account with HostArmada
To have full access to any of HostArmada’s hosting features, you have to pay for any of their hosting plans. Here’s how:
Step 1:
Navigate to the top menu bar and click ‘Hosting.’ Proceed to choose any hosting plan from the list. Next, select your preferred package and click ‘Get Started.’
Step 2:
You’ll be redirected to a domain selection page. Here, you can either register a new domain, transfer your domain from another registrar or use your existing domain and update your nameservers:
Step  3:
Next, choose your billing cycle and data centers. You’ll likely see upsells on this page to improve your web performance:
Then, click ‘Preview Order’ to make payments.
Step 4:
Next, review your orders before making payments. I noticed they added an ID protection to the checkout by default. Although it’s useful, I don’t like how it was pre-selected:
Step 5:
Lastly, you’ll be redirected to the checkout page to make payments for your order. Here, input your name, billing address and billing details. They accept only two forms of payment – PayPal and Credit Card. Once you’ve imputed all the necessities, click on ‘Complete Order.’
HostArmada’s Control Panel
As you can see, HostArmada has an intuitive user interface. I would have loved it if they built a custom control panel to match.
However, they use the traditional cPanel to reduce the friction in learning for their web users. This can easily be accessible via the ‘Client Area’
Here, you’ll find all the functionalities to set up and manage your account, including setting up email accounts, installing WordPress in one-click, creating databases, etc.
HostArmada is also compatible with WHM for managing multiple cPanel accounts simultaneously. This is a great feature if you’re buying reseller, VPS or dedicated hosting plans:
Installing WordPress on HostArmada
Installing WordPress on HostArmada is equally effortless. As with other hosting providers with cPanel, you can find and install WordPress in one-click with the Softaculous Auto Installer.
To do this, log into your cPanel account and navigate to the Software section, where you’ll find the Softaculous Apps Installer:
Once you click on it, you’ll be directed to the Softaculous Dashboard, where WordPress is listed under ‘Top Scripts’
Proceed to click on the WordPress icon:
Before you install it, you’ll be required to configure some things. Navigate to the ‘Software Setup’ section to do this. First, choose the WordPress version you wish to install:
Next, enter the site name/ description and create an admin account. Make sure you use details you can easily remember when creating your admin account.
Lastly, select your preferred WordPress theme and click ‘Install’
Voila! You’ll get a congratulatory message once it’s installed:
Server FootPrint and CDS
While fast loading times and uptime are excellent performance metrics, you also need to consider the server footprint of a web host before making any commitments. This is because the closer your host server is to your target audience, the faster your website will load for users in that location. You also need to consider how widespread the data centers are. Web hosts with large server footprints offer better global coverage, which means users from different regions can experience optimal performance when navigating your site.
In addition, if your web host uses a content delivery network (or CDN), it significantly improves loading times by reducing the time to the first byte.
HostArmada has 23 data centers in 5 continents, including North America, Europe and Asia.  Their web servers are also powered by CloudFlare CDN, one of the biggest and most reliable in the market.
Conclusion: Do We Recommend HostArmada?
HostArmada might be less than a decade old, but its performance, specs, competitive pricing and customer support make it one of the best in the market. I definitely recommend it!
Whether you’re just launching a new website or a tech startup needing robust infrastructure and reliable support, HostArmada is a good start. Plus, their newness is an advantage. Since they’re already making strides in the hosting industry, I believe they still have better features and updates coming up. Don’t miss out!!

FAQs
What is the speed of HostArmada?
HostArmada claims their infrastructure is connected with 7000 Mbps (Gbps). This means that their servers can handle large volumes of data flow, even during peak hours. This means a better user experience and higher chances of topping the search results.
HostArmada vs Hostinger: Which is better?
HostArmada and Hostinger are reputable providers, each with strengths and service offerings. The difference between the two largely depends on your specific needs and the feature combination these providers have to meet your needs.
For performance, I’ll opt for HostArmada. They both have an impressive load time. However, Hostinger doesn’t offer SSD storage in any of their plans.
If you’re looking to save costs, Hostinger is the way to go. Their plans start at $2.99/month (plus an extra three months free), while HostArmada costs $2.49/month (for a triennial payment).
Overall, I’ll pick HostArmada over Hostinger because of their rich feature list, advanced performance and security technologies and excellent customer support.
What are some HostArmada’s alternatives?
If you’re thinking of using other HostArmada’s alternatives, try out Siteground, BlueHost, ScalaHosting, and Cloudways.

Week 7: Social media influencer and slow fashion movement
Welcome back again! So in this post, I’m going to walk you through social media influencers and the slow fashion movement. As usual, we are going to start with some questions. Let me know your answer in the comment section so I can go and take a look too. Did you go on social media to search for certain influencers for fashion ideas?
So what is the slow fashion movement? Compared to the fast fashion industry, the slow fashion movement promotes more ethical and ecological ways of producing and consuming clothing. An important part of the affordable approach is using environmentally friendly materials such as hemp, organic cotton, recycled fabrics, and other sustainable sources. This reduces the environmental impact of clothing production. Recycled fabrics, such as using jeans to recreate a new item, are often seen nowadays; they could be a bag or clothes. You may think that using recycled jeans and making them into a bag may sound weird; in contrast, it has become a fashion trend. Some of these traditional methods are returning to the slow-fashion world. At first, it prompts us to sit back and consider whether we truly need a new item or if we could look through our closet for a forgotten item that could only require a minor fix. It therefore motivates us to purchase fewer clothes less frequently and, whenever possible, get used ones.
Tumblr media
We can also see more and more thrift stores on the street. Thrift stores like 2nd Street allow everyone to sell their clothes to them, and then they will choose those good-quality clothes and resell them at a low price. This lets those old clothes find a new owner and give them value again. So if you have any old clothes that you want to throw away, why not sell them to 2nd Street and let them help those clothes find a new owner? Furthermore, thrift stores receive different types of fashion-style clothes, and people can manage to find clothes that suit their fashion style better than in a shopping mall. Wearing used apparel is an environmentally conscious way to support others in becoming more sustainable (Atelier, 2023).
Or if you plan not to sell it, then why not donate it and help those in need? (tyoub.com.au, n.d.) No matter how big the charity is that you decide to support, your contribution will have an impact. Charities can carry out their essential work because of the kindness of people like you. Even though you might not need your old clothes, someone most likely will. Many people require more reasonably priced, reusable clothing.
Tumblr media
In conclusion, ethical and environmentally friendly clothing uses sustainable materials such as hemp and recycled fabrics, promoted by the slow fashion movement. This encourages buying lower-quality products and helps thrift stores like 2nd Street, which share used clothing to reduce waste. Donating used clothing to charities benefits the less fortunate and promotes sustainability. Embracing slow fashion fosters a community that is more aware and supportive. of.

Top Reseller web hosting
Prepare to make a lot of money by selling web space to other people. As more and more companies go online, the need for reliable hosting services keeps going through the roof. Finding the top reseller hosting service is important for success in this highly competitive market. Think about being able to offer your clients cutting-edge hosting options while also building your own successful business.
It can be hard to pick the best person who fits your goals and values when there are so many to choose from. Don't worry—we'll look into the top reseller web hosting providers and give you important information and suggestions that will help you make a choice that will help your reselling business succeed.
Tumblr media
What does reseller hosting mean?
If you want to start your own reseller hosting business, you will need to buy a reseller hosting plan from a current service. You will have to pay a one-time fee to get access to this server room. Once you have it, you can sell these services to your own customers and make money from them.
There's a chance that it will give already-established businesses a great chance to find new ways to make money. This could help protect your cheap hosting service from the effects of changes in the market.
To use the cheap reseller hosting strategy, you need to pay for a membership. When a customer buys a reseller hosting plan from you, they will automatically pay you every month or even once a year. Hosting subscriptions are a great way to build long-term ties with customers you already have.
If everything goes as planned, all that needs to be done to turn one-time or infrequent buyers into dedicated, long-term clients is to offer reselling hosting. From then on, these clients could give your hosting business a steady flow of recurring income for many years to come.
Some people who want to start their own business have decided to base it on the idea of cheap reseller hosting. Because you are getting hosting from a well-known company, you can avoid a lot of the start-up costs that come with starting your own hosting business. With this in mind, reseller hosting is a good option for anyone who wants to start their own business.
Before you buy a reseller web hosting plan, what should you think about?
Uptime
Uptime tells you how long it takes for a page to load fully. One that loads faster might do better in search engines than one that takes a long time to load. To keep its rank, a site needs to be more stable. A lot of the best business hosting companies charge a lot for their services.
One of the most important things to think about when picking a web host is how often the service is available. It is always best to pick a web company that has good customer service. Public codes on a website can sometimes bring people to the site. A company that hosts websites can help us figure out why our site is only up sometimes. Because of this, it's important to pick the hosting that is best used.
Performance
40% of people who visit a site wait more than three seconds for it to load before they leave. Key success indicators, such as the number of people who leave and the number who buy something, can change a lot because of this.
To help your customers make more sales and move up in search engine results, pick a cheap reseller hosting service that puts speed first. Some reseller hosting services have Turbo Servers, which are fast servers that can load pages up to 20 times faster than those of other reseller hosting services.
Ranking of a website by trustworthiness versus price
We need to think about cost, but there are other concerns than this. Because the costs are so high, you can always charge people more when you offer reseller hosting.
It would help if you thought about all the benefits that are available when setting the price. There are times when the best services are worth the extra cost because they offer more advantages that are worth it.
The price should include the seller's name, but that's not important. A server company that has been around for a long time and has a good name can charge more for their services.
New reseller hosting service companies, on the other hand, often try to get more customers from the ones they already have. This is why the prices for their server plans are so low. However, the money you save is only sometimes worth it when you buy a cheap reseller hosting plan.
Customer Support
When you're a cheap reseller hosting service, things are different for you. People should know they can ask for help from you. However, your hosting company takes care of a lot of the back-end tasks. Thus, you can only fix some issues by getting in touch with customer service.
Because of this, we recommend that you pick a resale hosting plan from your hosting company that comes with customer service that is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. You can talk to your source about it if one of your users has a problem.
There should be more than one way to contact your cheap reseller hosting service since some ways are better than others. Calling the customer service desk is often faster than writing an email and waiting for a response.
Clear rules for service demands
In conclusion, you shouldn't forget how important it is to look for a control panel that has a lot of features, a charging system, and easy white labeling. At their core, these are the conditions that every group must meet in order to work well.
Reseller hosting provider features
These tools are meant to make everything run more smoothly and give users a better experience across all services. No matter what service you choose, these tools should be at the top of your list. Most reliable reseller hosting providers offer them for free. Customers of every service should be able to get free SSL certificates and not have to pay extra to use them. If you want faster speed, choose SSD storage over HDD. This is especially true for picky customers. Put security steps at the top of your list and look into adding more safety features to make things safer. Plan for future scalability by making sure that hosting plans can be quickly upgraded as your client's needs change.
