Jiang-furen is doing sex ed for the yunmeng kids? there's various levels depending on your age. the baos and baby disciples basically get "consent is important" and "names for body parts" and it goes up to a very thorough thing for the teenagers. The teens also get a bunch of relevant tools and talismans (birth control, menstrual hygiene, etc.)
A few years after TMAAF, some of the Jiang boys work with Jiang-furen to develop reliable male birth control, since most cultivation-based methods won't help couples with a non-cultivating female partner. It turns out to be very successful, especially for new parents who don't want to have two babies two years in a row.
#asks#women who cultivate never have to worry about unplanned pregnancies because they can âfreezeâ their cycles#which is also why they can have children in their fifties and beyond if they want to#but no one has been able to come up with a suitable equivalent for men#so couples like yu zhenhong and li shuai have to rely on herbal methods instead#but not on jiang-furen's watch#she WILL invent failproof bc for men

Hiya! So in your opinion what do you think it would take for the Papas and Cardinal Copia to open up and be vulnerable with a S/O? Would it need time and trust, maybe an event which caused them to have an epiphany, or maybe they get caught at a bad time and need some comfort? Thank you!
I accidentally made this into a giant character introspection, whooooooooooops!Â
Ooooooooooooooooh boy, this is gonna be a long one so sit down! Thereâs no easy answer for me to give without a thesis sooooooooooooooooooooo-
Papaâs and Copia - What it Takes to have them be Truly Vulnerable with an S/O
Character flaw and reflection time! I will warn you these men are all far from perfect!Â
Thereâs definitely a LOT of elements and circumstances for each of these Antipopes, so I will try my best to sum it up without letting it get too big! Trust will be the key word in opening them all up!Â
A super short answer for this would be a small chart. From easiest to hardest to open up genuinely to an S/O (regardless of the situation), it would look something like this.Â
Papa Nihil
Papa I
Cardinal Copia
Papa II
Papa III
Keeping this in mind is actually really important as a lot of it has to play into each personality and life experiences. Even then, this is a super tight race! They all donât blindly trust and they all have a level of mystery they NEED to keep about them. So itâs a huge mix of their jobs as Papas and who they are deep down.Â
There is a reason such things like Prime Movers exist/ Having courtesans and harem members rather than proper spouses. A Papa could easily be compromised by a spouse. With either a partner using them to manipulate the Church, or straight up betraying them. A Papa has to be alert, smart, and VERY VERY sure when choosing a lifelong mate. They have to be able to know without a doubt that they can count on their partner with their very lives and the lives of others.Â
THEN there are so many personal factors and circumstances that come into play! Itâs safe to say that all of them are emotionally guarded in some way, shape, or form. That comes with the territory of being a Hell Blooded man of power. You donât know who REALLY loves you, whoâs using you, or who wants something. On top of that, the emotional burdens of their work, their faith, personal fears, and the expectations put on them.Â
It can be VERY hard to gauge what really clicks for each of them to trust someone. So, as asked, we will take a look into each of them! :)
Papa Nihil:
If you caught him in his younger years, he might have been more trusting with a serious partner. Not out of naivety or blind love, but out of arrogance. Arrogance that a partner could not hurt him even if they betrayed him. Nihil had an ego to him and felt on top of the world- being Papa and nothing to stop him. Not even a broken heart! To him, the worst thing that could happen with an S/O would be heartbreak, and he refused to believe that was anything that could break him! Well⊠it ended up happening with Sister Imperator. So after she left, he understood the consequences of his actions and what that would actually feel like. Itâs not something heâs too keen to feel again.Â
As he got older, he hardened. The only one who has really ever seen his softer, vulnerable side has been Imperator. Sheâs the only one he remotely trusts in the deepest sense, and even then- he has doubted her motives with the introduction of Copia! Nihil learned the hard way that putting your trust in the wrong people can have serious consequences to your life.Â
That all being said, two things really work with getting Nihil to be open to you with his feelings. First would be his âtestâ- not something he purposely does to make his S/O jump through hoops, mind you. Consider it an observation period where he sees how serious a relationship can be with you. Nihil doesnât mind flings, and as Grand Papa, has a willing harem at his disposal. The first months or years with a single partner is him learning about them. This goes from seeing how serious YOU are, your intentions and sincerity, how well you both click, and how close you end up being. That, and making sure you arenât just using him. Granted, he doesnât mind the occasional arm candy or someone who just wants to have fun. Those are just the partners he doesnât put extra effort into when it comes to emotions or deeper mental intimacy.
The second is just plain old time. If you two become serious, and stick by each other through thick and thin- you will learn about him. Nihil will slowly disclose more and more to you. Donât go crazy, because the Grand Papa is always watching for any hints of betrayal (nothing personal, it comes with the job.) So the more you are trustworthy, the more he shares. There will be a few tough subjects to crack with him, like his relationship with Imperator and his sons. But the more you mutually talk and grow together, the more things work out. I will warn you, no matter how much he trusts you he IS a stubborn old goat and some information HAS to be pried from him- simply because HE WILL NOT ADMIT ANYTHING TO HIMSELF SOMETIMES.Â
Papa I:
Papa can be very open and trusting with a serious partner, that typically is not the problem. Granted, heâs very analytical so his own feelings are something he tries to approach logically. But thatâs not the problem. The hurtle would just be you both getting to be a serious couple in the first place. As to him there is a vast difference between a sexual/romantic fling, casual companionship, and the workings of a true mate ship. The last of which is riddled with pitfalls due to his place as Papa and carrier of his bloodline.Â
Papa tends to let his sense of duty rule over almost every aspect of his life. He is one of the âpurestâ followers of Lucifer, and it shows in everything he does! Because of that, he has not typically sat down to consider companionship past his carnal needs and having someone to spend time with. Typically anything deeper would mean something equivalent to our idea of marriage- and with âmarriageâ to a Papa brings up the topic of possible heirs brought on by the Ministry. When a Papa is heavily involved with someone beyond their casual lovers, the idea of heirs is ALWAYS discussed. The Bloodline HAS to be continued. Depending on the sex of the partner, questions will be asked such as- can the partner become a prime mover? If possible are they SUITABLE? If they canât have children will they interfere in possible heirs being made? In short, Papa equates âSeriousâ partners to this duty to sow the seeds of the bloodlineâs future.Â
That being said, Papa would actually prefer a partner he could be open with. The trick is that he has to snap himself out of thinking just for the family and ministryâs sake. Which is self admittedly a difficult feat for him, because heâs always in work and faith mode. Thatâs just who he is. The other just has to do with how he treats others.Â
Typically Papa is much more interested in what you, his partner, is feeling. This comes with YEARS of thinking of everyone but himself. Papa has had to consider his flock, the will of the high clergy, the will of his father, the wants and needs of his brothers, and those he considers friends or in need of his guidance. Papa knows how to take care of himself, so HIS feelings are almost inconsequential. Papa much rather let you talk and share how you are than consider himself. It typically just takes a bit of asking and prodding on your part to get him to open up if you two have been close for a long time. Being honest and to the point also helps, as it gives him a moment to collect his thoughts and express himself thoroughly.Â
Papa II:
Being emotionally vulnerable for Papa II is very difficult. Not because he CHOOSES to be a âwounded bitter old man.â Even though he is very much that AND a known grouch and perfectionist; Papa just doesnât know HOW to be. Papa does have emotions and he does feel them very deeply when heâs not trying to tough it out. But Papa has never been GOOD at expressing his feelings, even as a child. Itâs not something he was in touch with, and not very comfortable for him to think about. Unlike III, Papa II just cannot seem to find it in himself to express his true feelings. Granted, he could put it into words as he is very eloquent. But⊠itâs difficult.Â
On top of that, Papa has never been one to let his weaknesses appear. Emotions are often embraced by Lucifer, as expressing them. But to Papa, these are his weak points and he prides himself too much in keeping all his weaknesses guarded. Papa has crafted himself to cover his vulnerabilities in such a way that they play to his strengths! For his emotions and true feelings, he detaches from them; giving him the ability to lead with a critical and objective mind not bogged down by empathy. As a Papa, this makes him an excellent and analytical leader. As a lover, this often bites him in the ass- especially in pursuing any SERIOUS life time commitments. Something he wasnât keen on doing in the first place.Â
Papa is very aware of how âspousesâ work for the Bloodline. Bonding with a potential mate has always been in the interest of furthering the family, not personal fulfillment. Heâs tried VERY hard to keep it that way. And like his father, he is painfully aware of those who would manipulate his feelings. And if we were being honest? The idea of genuinely falling in love scares the absolute shit out of Papa. The idea of being so vulnerable to a person who could crush your very soul, the soul of a demon blooded Antipope, is not something to take lightly! And itâs NOT like he has had any good role models to show how true love should operateâŠÂ
To win him over, it would be a good idea to show HIM your vulnerable side first. Kinda like when a cat shows you its belly as a sign of trust. LEt him see the ugly side of you, the insecure- but slowly. Donât hit him all at once with everything. You have to let Papa come to you. It might take a lot of time this way, but itâs a start- there is a reason he feels more comfortable with submission. It makes him feel so much more secure. Also showing your dedication and love through action and not words will be HUGE! Showing him you can be trusted, that you have a good head on your shoulders, and that you have his best interests at heart. Alternatively, if something life altering should happen to him, you supporting him is the ultimate display of your dependability. If you try to force him at any point he will pull back out of reflex. Itâs one of the few times he lets your roles be reversed.Â
Papa III:Â
Many would accuse his older brother, Emeritus the II, of being the hardest to make vulnerable- yet many are surprised that it is actually him! But Papa has spent years weaving a huge web around himself. Papa has so many masks and layers to him out of fear that sometimes even he doesnât know what part of him is genuine or not. He learned from an early age that he was the most emotional, and most likely to get hurt. And let me tell you something, Emeritus the Third is NOT a man who likes the feeling of being hurt emotionally. Itâs practically unbearable for him. He already deals with a lot of emotional burdens from feeling as though he were the âweakâ one of the Bloodline. Truth be told, he hasnât had the best relationship with his father, either.Â
Whatâs worse? As much as he likes to talk about himself, Papa does NOT like talking about his true issues and anxieties. Papa usually deflects in such subtle ways that those close to him THINK he is being vulnerable, when in truth he is being superficial. So when you hear him complain about how the Ministry treats him, or a minor insecurity brought on by an argument with his brother- you are only scratching the surface. And even if he loves you, Papa does not want you to see that ugly, miserable side of him. He doesnât even want to acknowledge it himself. If he can barely stand these horrible sides to himself, how does he expect you to stay and accept him?Â
For Papa III, the key factor would be time and patience. But this is further made difficult with his fleeting interests and inability to commit. The natural way to his vulnerable side is by never leaving his side, assuming he doesnât forcibly push you away. For example, one of the few who know him deeply is Omega and his eldest brother, Papa I. Thatâs because they have been around his entire life. Either you would have to be the same, or be there in a huge moment of weakness to have him even remotely come clean.Â
The best (or in his case, worse) would be you being there at his absolute lowest point. When heâs so far gone in his emotions that he canât even muster up the energy to put on a show. When he canât bring himself to be Papa, to be charming- hell even RUDE AND ANGRY. The best example would be like if you were around after he was stripped of the Ghost Project and made a fool out of publically. That was such a horrible time for him and everyone around him. But if you are there with unconditional love and he SEES that you love him through every facet of his identity, he will want to stick close and loyal to you. It will take MORE time, but little by little Papa ends up baring his soul to you. Heâd be lying if he said he still wasnât afraid to confide in you, least you up and leave... Â
Cardinal Copia/Papa IV:
Copia has struggled with trust nearly his whole life, and ALL of his career in the High Ministry. If we are being honest, as welcoming and loving as the church is, the upper clergy is full of deceit and cutthroat tactics. Itâs as competitive and dangerous as any monarchy or noble circles. Thatâs because within it there is a LOT more at stake. Ministry members have vanished or been found dead thanks to inner politics, and Copia has his share of close calls. Heâs had to learn to trust no one but yourself, and never EVER let your guard down too much.
Unfortunately, this does bleed into his personal life. Copia has had his share of bed mates and even lovers that have stuck around longer than anticipated. But long term commitments have been very few and far between. And to be honest, he HAS been burned before. From those who sought to betray him to partners who just DIDNâT LIKE who he really was underneath. Copia has buried that hurt and tried to use it as a reminder of why he needs to keep himself until he makes it to the top. Then NO ONE could hurt him the way they could when he was a mere Ministry member.
Copia has always been really cautious around lovers to the point of paranoia. Where he adamantly refused to let himself be weak at any point! He is always good to them, but is just plain scared of letting his guard down. But the difference between Copia and the rest of the Papas is that Copia CRAVES intimate connection like you wouldnât believe. Sometimes he desperately wants that stability and trust with another person without fear of repercussion. Copia often feels like he can never have it, and itâs one of the few things he wants almost as bad as the Papacy. But heâs never had time or a chance to- far too much to do and too much to risk!
One of the biggest ways Copia ends up calming down around you and actually opening up is if you have been there for the long run. Especially if you two were some type of couple or close BEFORE he was ever chosen for the Ghost project. Copia needs that undying support and consistency to really warm up to you. If youâve unconditionally been there from the beginning and have not changed since his Papacy, Copia is nothing but loyal to you in return. Copia is a very good actor, but he will still be skittish and reluctant to talk too much. You just have to be patient with him as he gets comfortable. I promise, he wants nothing more than to trust you completely.

I Have Chosen You. â
Summary: Edgar returns to his duties - and with a mysterious request for some of his hunters.
Warnings:Â N/A.
â ALRIGHT. â   The hum surrounding the tavern was cut short by the Alpha banging the butt of a bottle harshly atop the counter.   â I desire silence. â
There was a lot to address: where heâd been; why heâd disappeared without a word for several weeks, only to be bedridden upon his return. Only Grace-- and now Moxie, through his âscientific researchâ regarding Edgarâs newfound immortality--  knew of his situation, and it was time for for him to grant the rest of the creed some amount of clarity.
â I know things have been tumultuous as of late. Your leader has been MIA for a number of weeks, and for that I can only apologise. There are things in this life that cannot be avoided. âÂ
Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â ïżœïżœHe didnât need to go into the details. All most needed to know was that heâd never had any intention to leave in the first place. Much like birds with their owners, an inferiorâs trust in their Alpha could easily be diminished if they exhibited unwanted behaviour. Unwilling to see all of his hard work and prestige swirl down the drain, Edgar intended to fix it.
â I wonât go into the entire thing. All you need to know is that I had a brush with death, needed some time to recover, and am now back in full throttle. May I remind you that though I am your Alpha, I am not indestructible. I do not expect your compassion-- only your tolerance. I had no intention to leave, nor to leave you all unattended, but I trust that you all did just fine without me. You have no need for me to hold your hands. I am particular with who I allow into this creed, meaning you are all capable, intelligent and intuitive. I expect there were very few complications while I was away, and that you all came through as a team. Things will resume as normal. The Strahvern will run as before, as I am finally ready-- and able-- to return. â
Surveying the small crowd might have been nerve-wracking for some, but for a man who had spoken in front of hundreds of thousands of people on a  multitude of different occasions, this was the equivalent of a social gathering. Though the topic was dreary and the tone was serious, he spoke with the ease of somebody who was speaking to an old friend in private; no nerves; no need to stop and fumble; responsible and authoritative. As he glanced around the room, taking in the sober faces of his fellow creedmates, all he saw was the same trust they had always had in him. Fractured in some places, perhaps, but it was no doubt treatable.
â I expect your full effort. And you can all expect mine from this moment on. â   After a final sweep of the room, he pocketed his hands casually, eyebrows raising high.   â Any questions? â
The room was silent save for a couple of hushed âno sirââs. Edgar clapped his hands, the sound ringing through the tavern.
â Alright-y then! Off you go! â   He snaked around the bar, stopping a handful of hunters on their way out.   â You two wait. I have an assignment for you. â   When he began to walk back, he heard obedient footsteps behind him, the two men both curious and apprehensive. Edgar sat atop his usual stool behind the bar, still towering over them despite it.   â I am on the hunt for another Alpha. I want you to team up with Moxie and a small group of scouts that I have assembled to find out her location and bring it back to me. You will do nothing else. I do not want you to make contact with her, nor any of her members, and I want you to remain discreet. I strictly want her current whereabouts and nothing more. Is that understood? â
Flint was the first one to nod, face a mask of stone.   â Whatâs the name? â
â Nyx, â   Edgar replied, the word doused in venom.   â Nyx Allura. â
â Whatâs your business with her, boss? â
â It matters not. It doesnât affect your mission. â   He paused to reach into his pocket, lighting a smoke and propping it between his lips in order to take a drag. After exhaling, he held it between two fingers, the swirling vapour a hypnotic ally to his bitter delivery.    â I have already given the scouts a physical description. She is known to dwell in the South. Past No-Manâs Bluff. You may not be back for a week or two. I donât want any of you to return here until you get some sort of âcoordinatesâ. You must understand the seriousness of this request; this is something that I  must deal with, and I have chosen you because I have faith in your abilities. â
Flint nodded slowly, glancing sideways to his assigned teammate. Sparrow was a quirky fellow; he barely spoke, but he was as fierce as they came. Feral, often frothing at the mouth, and hungry for destruction. Briefly, Flint wondered how he would fare when it came to resisting the urge to blow their cover and charge straight for the kill.
â Should be easy enough. I guess Grace is accompanying us if youâve assembled some sc-- â
â She is not coming. â
â What...? But sheâs the Lead. How is it possible that she isnât necessary? â
Edgar shook his head, taking another deep drag from his smoke.   â Under normal circumstances, she would absolutely be accompanying you. But she has some personal connection to the Alpha in question. To use her would be dangerous; both for her and for us. I need level-headed lyes that are free from pre-conceived judgement. She is not suitable for this particular mission. I would also much prefer it if you did not discuss this with her. She is not to know yet. â
He wasnât ready to expose himself as the lovesick fool that he was. Heâd sooner die than tell Flint that the reason she wasnât accompanying them was because he couldnât bear to expose her to the one that had ruined her life. Not yet-- perhaps when the time was right. When the context was fitting. When he himself wasnât so terrified of losing her. Though immortality would be handy in his conflict against others in the future, Graceâs lack of invulnerability worried him a great deal. The idea of being forced to live on without his lover was a horrifying prospect, one that he wished to avoid with every fibre of his being. For that reason, he wouldnât wittingly put her in harmâs way-- whether she could fend for herself or not.
â Has all of that sunk in? â   he asked, a deep calm passing through him as the smoke did its job. When both hunters slowly nodded, he smiled wide once more.   â Good! Prepare yourselves tonight, then leave in the morning. â
â Is this gonna result in a war, Alpha? â   Sparrow asked, voice a deep monotone drone. Despite the lack of emotion on his face, there was a crazed glint in his eye, one that longingly thirsted for blood.
â Mm, â   Edgar hummed, smile sharpening somewhat.   â Probably. â

âThe State as apparatus of capture has a power of appropriation; but this power does not consist solely in capturing all that it can, all that is possible, of a matter defined as phylum. The apparatus of capture also appropriates the war machine, the instruments of polarization, and the anticipation prevention mechanisms. This is to say, conversely, that anticipation prevention mechanisms have a high power of transference (...)â. â(...) (W)ar machines have a power of metamorphosis, which of course allows them to be captured by States, but also to resist that capture and rise up again in other forms, with other âobjectsâ besides war (revolution?). Each power is a force of deterritorialization that can go along with the others or go against them (...). Each process can switch over to other powers, but also subordinate other processes to its own power.â (1) âThe idea of a constitution (...) involves not only the idea of hierarchy of authority or power but also that of a hierarchy of rules or laws, where those possessing a higher degree of generality and proceeding from a superior authority control the contents of the more specific laws that are passed by a delegated authority.â (2) It is time for a new humanism. Time to set a place, a forum able to stage the powers of today. Time to call up the ancient, dispose them, squeez them, twist them to reassess todays world. We have lost the meaning of natural proportions, let us look at godly excess. Monotheic religion castrated our apprehension of the world, seeing things either good or bad. The polytheic family encompasses the world and beyond, spinning around our prosaic flatland. A figure founded on intricated concepts is a powerfull constellation naviguating above polysemic ambiguities.  As the grand daughter of the Philantropist eponym Elisabeth Murdoch, Elisabeth Murdoch feels the will to engage her vision in the public debat. Since her childhood she was confronted to a rigourous, competitive, mostly manly world. Inspired by her grandmother she cultivated a spiritual friendship with greek feminin characters. Grew up with them. Now her interest does not lie in presenting her various personal relations with them but to stage them. â(...)(A)dvertising, news, publicity, periodical literature.â This is Elisabeth's inherited background. â(...) They work to a single end: to give the stamp of authenticity and value to the style of life that emanates from the metropolis. They establish the national brand: they attempt to control the national market: they create a picture of a unified, homogeneous, completely standardized population that bears, in fact, no relation to the actual regional sub stratumâalthough in the course of time it partly succeeds in producing the thing it has imagined.â Take Paris for example: â(...) the Champs ElysĂ©es, become the goals of vulgar ambition (and a)dvertisement becomes the âspiritual powerâ of this new regime.â (3)
âThis is the moment when the masterpieces of ancient sculpture are about to appear in all their glory in front of the eyes of France (...) Â (they) have chosen to live amongst the French, and are to be adored in their living images. Ah! Who would be able to step into the temple of these divinities without saying to himself: these masterpieces, these gods had ceased to be gods for us; the cult of Antiquity had been forgotten; who would believe it?(...); it is Vien, it is David, who then made themselves into their apostles and ministers; it is through them that this great revolution, which has at least given us the hope of creating gods ourselves, has taken place in the arts.â (4)
The time of revolution is now back but as Foucault said : âil faut avoir une mĂ©fiance absolue et totale Ă l'Ă©gard de tout ce qui se prĂ©sente comme un retour. L'une des raisons de cette mĂ©fiance est logique : il n'y a jamais, en fait, de retour.â(5) Therefore the story of Elisabeth's friends will intentionally follow the unfaithfull path. In Momus from Alberti âthe extended climax (of the seventh book) occurs in an urban theater where the gods act as their own effigies(, Alberti) repeatedly uses the word persona (and so will we) (âmaskâ or âpersonality'') to underline the false, theatrical behavior of his characters.â (6) âOr, as is the case now, the mask assures the erection, the construction of the (new) face (of Elisabeth), the fascialization of the head and the body: the mask is now the face itself, the abstraction or operation of the face. The inhumanity of the face.â (1) So be it. Let them be the masked actors of a twisted tragedy, trapped in their performance, speculating above our heads, fertilizing our ground. A spectacle of a new kind. Let them play, individually, together, contradict each other, themselves. Let them work as technologies, systems, embedded in concepts and rituals. âThey (a)re living geometry, lines and curves of color, entwined into a coalescing whole yet maintaining distinct identities.â (7)
Three personas. Pandora, Circe, Metis. Not the ones we usually know. Their Alter Ego. The ones who stand up, do not apologize. This is Elisabeth's Friends. Pandora has inherited a box, a jarre which contains unspeakable truth. She knows now how to sort things, pick up elements, unleash others. Circe masters metamorphosis by exploring with drugs and potions. She learned to articulate her recipes and to play with the right parameters and Metis is renowned for his wiseness and cunning, making problems no longer valid. As a constellation, they are powerful. As a unity, they can deal with the plenty, transform it. As an unfaithful story, it accesses the realm of discussion. As statuses, they need a sophisticated territory from which to operate, a palace. Three Faces where â(i)t is not the individuality of (each) face that counts but the efficacy of the ciphering it makes possible, and in what cases it makes it possible.(...) The face is a surface, (...) the face is a map.â (1 ) âHow disappointing this answer seems to be! We asked what was the origin of Ideas and where problems come from: in reply we invoke throws of the dice, imperatives and questions of chance instead of an apodictic principle; an aleatory point at which everything becomes ungrounded instead of a solid ground.â (8)
âFor each genre, now, the problem will be to decide whether its audience is such as to demand utility or delight or both, and what brand of either of these will be acceptable to it.â (9) To anchor ourselves we will now deepen our reflexion in space with Alberti and Vitruve. But keep in mind : âThe mathematics that is needed here is of a new brand.â (10) Â Their concept and ideas of proportions being a fertile ground from which we should elevate. This palace will be a theater, a circus and a amphitheater, simultaneously, as the temple of our time, able to adapt to change, suitable to glorify the unknown. If we follow Alberti and Vitruve who compare the three typologies as such: â(...) (W)e will describe both manners of spectacles. In the first, which is for the delight of peaceful times, are introduced the poets, musicians, and actors. In the second, which regard the studies of war, are performed different kinds of duels and contests having to do with bodily strength and dexterity. To the former is dedicated the theatre, a name which means both âspectacleâ and âa place to watchâ.To the latter, which are spectacles of agility and dexterity such as running or jumping, is dedicated the circus. To events such as assaults and fights against animals or men is dedicated the amphitheatre. There are some things that are proper to all of these spectacles: first, that they are horn shaped and curved; next, that they have an open space in the middle; and finally, that they have steps all around and raised places where people can sit and watch.â (11) âBut then they differ as to the Form of the aforesaid Area; for those which have this Area in the Shape of a Moon in its Decrease are called Theatres, but when the Horns are protracted a great Way forwards, they are called Circusses, because in them the Chariots make a Circle about the Goal.â (12) So if we follow them and we free this typologies from their form, we can imagine a place which could embody the spectacle. The Palace of Spectacle. This Palace will be entered through a garden where a fountain lies at its very center. Heron's Fountain one could claim. Another form of spectacle.

THE plan of the theatre itself is to be constructed as follows. Having fixed upon the principal centre, draw a line of circumference equivalent to what is to be the perimeter at the bottom, and in it inscribe four equilateral triangles, at equal distances apart and touching the boundary line of the circle, as the astrologers do in a figure of the twelve signs of the zodiac, when they are making computations from the musical harmony of the stars. Taking that one of these triangles whose side is nearest to the scaena, let the front of the scaena be determined by the line where that side cuts off a segment of the circle (A B), and draw, through the centre, a parallel line (C D) set off from that position, to separate the platform of the stage from the space of the orchestra.
The circus was based, so it is said, on the heavens
Unlike that of the amphitheater, the central area of a circus was not empty, nor was it filled with a stage, like that of a theater --------------------------------------------------------------- Alberti
We have dealt with the theater; next we shall discuss the circus and amphitheater. All buildings of this type are derived from the theater: a circus is nothing but a theater with its wings extended along parallel lines, although its nature does not require the addition of a portico; an amphitheater, meanwhile, consists of two theaters, their tiers linked into a continuous circle. They differ in that the theater is a form of semiamphitheater; another difference is that the central area of the amphitheater is quite empty and free of any stage. In every other respect they are similar, especially in their tiers, porticoes, passages, and so on. The amphitheater, we think, was built originally for the hunt; this was why they decided to make it round, so that the wild beast, trapped there and baited, with no corner into which to retreat, would be easier for the hunters to provoke.
The rest of the ornament is taken from the temple
The theater takes the lineament of its area from the hoofprint of a horse.Once this is done, the uppermost portico is built on top. The facade and colonnade of this portico do not receive light from outside, as those we have described below it do, but face instead toward the central area of the theater, as we have mentioned already. This work prevents sound from escaping, and compresses and fortifies it; we shall therefore call the work the circumvallation.
--------------------------------------------------------------------- Perrault (on Vitruvius)
And the Paintings represented three sorts of Buildings, which made three sorts of Scenes, viz. The Tragick by Magnificent Pallaces, the Comick by Private Houses, the Satyrical (i. e. the Pastoral) by Fields and Groves. The Parascenium or Postscenium was the hinder part of the Theater, and the place whither the Actors retired and dressed themselves, and had their Rehearsals, and where the Machines were kept.Near the Theaters, were Publick Walks, in length a Stadium, which is about 90 Perches. There were Trees planted

Serious Estate Qualified prospects For Realtors
For more information: https://verdeabitare.it/
Due to the fact genuine estate selling prices have dropped rather a little bit, the probable commissions that serious estate brokers and brokers could gain have also dropped. But the fall in commissions can be a lot more than offset by the amount of money of homes that can be sold. And getting top quality real estate leads is just one of the keys to producing this a reality for serious estate professionals. This is for the reason that there are so numerous additional properties on the market now than there were being just before the bubble burst. The increase in the variety of property owners who are underwater on their home loans has improved so significantly that a quite large quantity of them have made a decision that they can't afford to continue to be in their households. They would alternatively sell their household and purchase a similar residence for a a great deal reduced value, and take the decline so that they can increase their money move situation by getting a reduce home loan payment each individual thirty day period. And because there is no lack of attributes to get, these people today had no problem discovering a ideal dwelling for a fantastic rate. And a further result of the rise in obtainable qualities is that extra and more people are becoming first-time property owners. Considering the fact that price ranges on households are slipping, more and additional people are in a position to manage a home for the exact amount of money they are currently paying out in rent. So the rational choice for these men and women is to get a property rather than continuing to rent. These components all direct to just one factor - a greater need to have for serious estate brokers to assistance the purchasing and selling of all of these attributes. For that reason, even although price ranges have fallen, the quantity of available attributes, customers, and sellers has elevated which far more than can make up for the decrease costs in conditions of how considerably a provided serious estate agent could make in the recent true estate industry.  If you have any sort of concerns relating to where and the best ways to use Piedmont properties, you can call us at our page. And as we all know, the extra shoppers a serious estate agent has, the much more qualities they're going to market and the extra income they'll make. The difficulty comes in when a authentic estate agent has currently long gone as a result of their present shopper listing. The finest way for them to get additional customers is to someway acquire additional actual estate potential customers. Not only do they need to have much more qualified prospects, they need high high quality sales opportunities if they are going to be effective in changing a high number of them into consumers who essentially adhere to via on getting and/or promoting one or more properties. So how can you get much more real estate prospects? There are of training course a lot of diverse approaches. These involve shopping for them from an agency that gives them, advertising and marketing, subscribing to guide technology sites, creating and preserving present-day your have actual estate web-site that attracts prospective consumers to it, and ideal of all by having them as a result of your have community. There are definitely other techniques of making true estate prospects as properly, but these are the most popular techniques - all of which have proven to perform to a selected degree. A single of the easiest techniques to get real estate qualified prospects is by acquiring them. There are businesses whose sole purpose is to come across individuals who want to obtain or provide a residence. They then market this information to men and women who are ready to pay for it. So if you are a authentic estate agent on the lookout for true estate sales opportunities and either will not have the time to come across your have, or only never want to, then this may see more perhaps be a fantastic possibility for you. There are two unique key methods to do this. You can invest in the actual estate potential customers from a enterprise as a set of info that you will get in the form of a listing or spreadsheet. Then you will have to have to start off sifting through them and applying the facts accessible to qualify and categorize them you. And immediately after that, it's time to commence earning calls to come across out they are valid leads or not. The other way of purchasing true estate leads is by subscribing to a real estate direct generator internet site that will send you considerably smaller sized lists of leads on a regular foundation. This can be great simply because the data is probable to be substantially much more current than purchasing a one incredibly substantial record of prospects. But this also means that there are less to work with so it does not give you as much liberty in terms of picking out who to speak to initial. Obtaining genuine estate leads or subscribing to a guide technology site can also be high priced. This can be a quite undesirable issue because the complete intent of acquiring prospects is to obtain clientele, market qualities, and make commissions, if the leads that you purchase never transform into commissions. In that circumstance, not only did you not provide any houses (or numerous houses), but you wasted revenue on worthless info, and you wasted time making contact with worthless sales opportunities when you could have been functioning on getting great genuine estate prospects instead. A further way to make true estate potential customers is by marketing. If you are a genuine estate agent, broker, or enterprise person, advertising your expert services may possibly be a great way to deliver actual estate sales opportunities. This sort of guide generation is great because instead than you doing the operate to find people who want to get or provide a home, the tables are turned and they occur on the lookout for you as a substitute. In addition to owning persons attempt to discover you instead of you trying to uncover them, there is another profit to advertising and marketing to deliver genuine estate leads. The individuals who are attempting to discover you are already surely intrigued in acquiring or promoting a house. This indicates that you really don't have to fret about no matter whether they are going to switch out to be certified prospects or not, mainly because they definitely will be. A equivalent way to crank out true estate sales opportunities by promoting which can be even extra successful than merely promotion on a billboard or in the paper is by placing up your individual genuine estate web site. Sites are astonishingly affordable to have hosted, and acquiring 1 formulated for you would not have to be high priced possibly. And if you discover the essentials of internet site progress, you can expect to be equipped to retain it by on your own just after it truly is been established up so that you can generally preserve it recent. The good reasons to keep your website current are not able to be understated. To start with, you have to maintain it updated with the attributes you are making an attempt to offer so that the people today who check out your internet site will have a little something to glance at - and given that this checklist of homes will be switching regularly as your consumer record grows and adjustments, you'll require to change your website often to include the new homes and eradicate the ones that are no for a longer period obtainable. A second explanation for keeping your site updated on a common basis your website page rank will develop better. Look for engines use a variety of variables to establish how suitable they are to specified search phrases, and wherever to show them in a listing of research effects. And a person of the largest things that moves a site towards the major of the record is it is website page rank, which is drastically influenced by how lively and how recent the web-site is. So the a lot more frequently you update your web page, the better its web page rank will be, the greater it's going to display up in search effects associated to real estate key phrases, and the much more readers you can expect to get to your web site. The moment you get readers to your web site, you are going to be having the publicity you want to opportunity shoppers for free of charge. They can keep on your internet site for as lengthy as they want to and glance at as handful of or as many houses as they want to. And you don't have to do something in buy to aid them. In fact there could be 1000's of people today all on your internet site at the identical time. That is a little something that you would not very likely at any time have the possibility to do in individual. This phenomenon is what is recognised as leverage, and leverage is what can transform a smaller organization into a fortune 500 business in quick purchase when managed the right way. Â

Questions
Your reply to my first question was immensely helpful, so I came back for more.
1) I searched through your transgender tag, but could not find anything regarding the question of how to make clear that a character is trans when they are not the main character. Obviously, a POV character wouldnât know that a person is trans, and would most likely describe a trans woman as âa womanâ. In most circumstances, that would be it, as there would be no reason to mention they are trans, unless they are a major character. I wouldnât want to do the misgendering thing of assuming wrong and being corrected, but am unsure of how to include secondary trans characters and making clear that they are trans.
2) I kind of asked this before, but would like some clarification still, particularly outside of real existing cultures. Historically-speaking, a lot of trans or non-binary or gender non-conforming people had a special role in society. Be it that they were seen as divine and thus sacred, in a way, or that they were considered suitable for certain tasks. What Iâm uncertain of is whether to adapt that for my story or to not do that. This kind of reads to me as âotheringâ, particularly because in some cultures, non-binary or trans people lived in their own part of the village separate from everyone else. I feel like trans and nb folk being treated the same as everyone else would be preferable, particularly in the case of trans people, but since I am unsure, I thought Iâd ask you for your opinion.
3) The same question goes for traditional cultures and the treatment of non-heterosexual marriages. Would it be best to make separate rules for a marriage between two women, two men or with a non-binary individual, or several individuals, or should the original rules be broad enough to cover all possible relationships?
Answers
1) How you mention a side character is trans depends on the situation but you can go about it one of two ways: straight up have them mention it, or add in more subtle things, or both.Â
So for straight up mentioning it: if itâs a dating scenario itâs considered polite to inform potential partners youâre trans and then said character can straight up tell the person or they can talk about having to do that / how it went to someone elseÂ
Maybe theyâre just very open about it or talk about previous experiences
For more subtle ways:Â Bringing up clothing that helps them pass, so binders - or binder equivalent (needing to have a binder rest, why theyâre always wearing a âvestâ), shaping underwear (corsets, padding), maybe explaining why a trans woman is always wearing heals or why a trans guy is always wearing rigid tops (ie, p1: Iâve been wondering how you manage to wear heels all the time? p2: oh, they help with dysphoria and I wear them so much Iâm used to them) or anything else like that
- Mod Emery
To add on, for (1), this tag might help you better than our general transgender tag. Itâs a tag dedicated to coming out to the reader, where weâve answered more on these things in the past.
2) Either of these really work, in my opinion! This definitely hasnât been the same in every society, but having a gaybourhood isnât necessarily bad. If you do that, I would make sure itâs clear that these characters want to have the living situations that they do, and that itâs an honour and sought for in a way. Itâs also generally not a bad thing to incorporate the idea that thereâs gender roles which acknowledge your trans characters as existing.
But itâs also the case that not every society throughout history has had this exact same dynamic, and some folks are assimilated, some folks arenât, some want to, some donât want to be at all. I think itâs probably safe to assume we all want to be seen as who we are, and some trans people also want people to know they are trans if they feel a specific connection to the community, and some donât. Making way for and including representation of a variety is always best.Â
3) Rules should be the same across the board, but protocol and the style of ceremony doesnât necessarily have to be. Ideally, a character in a society they are happiest in, should be able to choose what they want with their partner and have it not be seen as taboo.Â

Setting the stage
Before I get to the play Rokumeikan I think itâs useful to understand at least a bit of the historical context around it. The play is set in 1886 in the middle of the Meiji era (1868-1912), one of the most tumultuous and consequential periods in the history of Japan. The historical setting of Rokumeikan would be as familiar to modern Japanese schoolgirls like those at Fujigaya and Matsuoka as the Civil War period is to us in the U.S. (The first episode of the currently-airing anime Meiji Tokyo Renka, about a girl who time-travels back to the Meiji era, has a scene set at the Rokumeikan.)
Since this post is ultimately in the service of my commentary on Sweet Blue Flowers, I thought it appropriate to discuss the history of Meiji-era Japan and the Rokumeikan from the point of view of Sutematsu Yamakawa, Shige Nagai, and Ume Tsuda, the three ordinary girls whose extraordinary lives are documented in Janice Nimuraâs book The Daughters of the Samurai. Sutematsu, the oldest of them, was born in 1860, only a few years after Commodore Matthew Perry and his âblack shipsâ showed up in Tokyo harbor in 1853 demanding that Japan open its ports to the U.S.
With no navy and no national military the Tokugawa shogunate struggled to resist pressures from the U.S. and other countries, and in 1858 signed a series of âunequal treatiesâ that favored the various Western powers and impinged on Japanese sovereignty. Resentment of Western influence and long-standing grievances with the Tokugawas then led to a prolonged period of civil strife, ending in 1867-1868 with a civil war in which forces fighting in the name of the Emperor decisively defeated pro-government forces. Sutematsu, daughter of a mid-rank samurai on the losing side, was wounded by shrapnel in one of the final battles.
14-year-old Prince Mutsuhito became Emperor in 1867, with the new âMeijiâ (âenlightened ruleâ) era proclaimed in 1868 with the fall of Edo (now Tokyo) and the formation of a new government populated by many energetic and relatively young mid-rank samurai. They embarked upon a crash course of importing Western knowledge, technology, and experts, with an eye towards making Japan a modern power as fast as possible.
One of those men, Kiyotaka Kuroda, had been impressed with American women while on a visit to the U.S., and conceived the fantastical idea of sending a group of Japanese girls to the U.S. for a ten-year stay in order to learn American ways and come back to educate a new generation of Japanese girls. After an initial recruitment effort failed, the government succeeded in finding five low-to-mid rank samurai families who had been on the losing side, were living in relative poverty, and were therefore willing to let their girls leave home so as not to have to support them.
The five girls left Japan in 1871 as part of the famous Iwakura mission along with a group of high-ranking government officials, scholars, and male students charged to visit foreign nations and bring back information of use to Japan. The oldest two of the girls returned to Japan due to ill health and homesickness, but Sutematsu Yamakawa (11 years old), Shige Nogai (10), and Ume Tsuda (6) found places with American families. They soon learned English, made close American friends, and became socialized in a manner typical of upper middle class American teenagers of the period.
While the girls were away Japan saw a blooming of intellectual discourse, the formation of grass-roots political movements, and the creation of nascent political parties, as elements within society and government contended over what political and cultural ideas and institutions were most appropriate for Japan.
The three girls returned in the early 1880s, Sutematsu Yamakawa having graduated from Vassar College (the first Japanese woman to receive an American college degree) and Shige Nogai having earned a certificate in music from Vassar. All three girls experienced severe culture shock, with Ume Tsuda having completely forgotten how to speak Japanese. They also found that foreign ideas were not quite as popular as when they left for America, as a conservative backlash was building.
Shige Nogai soon entered into a love match with a fellow Japanese student who had attended the U.S. Naval Academy, and went to work as a music teacher, continuing her career while bearing and raising her six children. (Some scholars contend that sheâs depicted in the woodblock print above showing a dance at the Rokumeikan, the rightmost pianist to whom the other pianist seems to be looking for help in setting the tempo.) Her husband eventually became a Baron and Admiral in the Imperial Japanese Navy, and she a Baroness.
Sutematsu Yamakawa struggled to find work suitable to her upbringing and education, and ended up accepting an offer of marriage from Iwao Ćyama, a general in the Imperial Japanese Army, twenty years her senior, who was looking for a wife who was familiar with Western ways and could assist him in his political and diplomatic activities. Her husband later became Minister of War and she became a pillar of the Japanese aristocracy, advising the Empress herself on Western culture and fashion.
As Countess (later Princess) Ćyama she became known as the âLady of the Rokumeikanâ for her role in hosting events there after its construction in 1883. She also introduced American-style philanthropy to Japan, including a charity bazaar held at the Rokumeikan. (This event was memorialized in a woodblock print by Toyohara Chikanobu, also the artist of the print shown above. Sutematsu and her daughter Hisako are apparently depicted in the center of the print.)
One of the major beneficiaries of Sutematsuâs philanthropy was Ume Tsuda, who had the worst time adjusting to life in Japan. She first obtained employment as a private tutor to the children of Hirobumi ItĆ, soon to become Japanâs first Prime Minister. She then taught at the Peeressesâ School, which ItĆ set up (with assistance from Countess Ćyama) to educate the daughters of the Imperial family and Japanese nobility. (Prestigious girls schools like Fujigaya Womens Academy would later offer an equivalent experience for the daughters of Japanâs upper and upper middle classes.)
Tsuda became frustrated by the conservatism of the Peeressesâ School and the expectations of her family and others that she marry. Due to her youth she had not been able to attend college while in America, and hence she applied for and was granted permission and funding to go back to the U.S. to complete her education. She enrolled at the recently-opened Bryn Mawr College for women and graduated with a bachelors degree. She then returned to Japan, having also found time to (anonymously) assist a friend in writing a book, Japanese Girls and Women, critical of Japanese laws and educational policies relating to girls and women.
After returning to Japan, after some time and with assistance from Countess Ćyama, Ume Tsuda was able to realize her dream of opening her own school, the Women's Institute for English Studies (ć„łćè±ćŠćĄŸ Joshi Eigaku Juku), with the goal of training teachers for Japanâs newly-mandated middle schools for girls. She was soon joined by Anna Cope Hartshorne, her close friend from Bryn Mawr who became her companion in both work and life. (Like Nobuko Yoshiya and her partner, Tsuda and Hartshorne bought a cottage together in Kamakura.)
Tsuda spent the last years of her life in ill health, living in Kamakura with Anna Hartshorne. After her death in 1929 her school was renamed in her honor, eventually becoming Tsuda College and then (more recently) Tsuda University. Hartshorne herself left Japan in 1940 on the brink of war, never to return. She died in 1957, a year after the first production of Rokumeikan and almost a century after the start of the Meiji era.
The Rokumeikan itself was long gone by then. Its use had declined with the rise of conservative sentiment and anti-Western feeling, and it was sold in 1890 to become a private club for the aristocracy. The building fell into disuse and was eventually demolished in 1941, as Japan went to war with the Western powers whose diplomats it had once invited to dance at the Rokumeikan.
A final thought: Thereâs an intriguing parallel between the three main 21st-century girls of Sweet Blue Flowers and the three 19th-century girls of Daughters of the Samurai. Kyoko resembles Sutematsu Yamakawa, thwarted in her original desire and falling back on a marriage with an older man of higher social status. We can only hope that Kyoko will find happiness in such a marriage, as Sutematsu apparently did in hers.
Fumi resembles Ume Tsuda, even to having a somewhat similar sounding given name. Itâs clear that she will remain unmarried, as Ume did (unless marriage equality comes to Japan). Our hope for Fumi is that like Ume she will also find someone, whether Akira or another, who will be her lifelong companion.
As for Akira, her fate is not yet clear---though I doubt sheâll have six children like Shige Nogai did. We can at least hope that if Akira does find someone to spend her life with that it will be a love match, just as Shigeâs was.

Skam Austin episode 4 reaction
part of me is laughing at the number of people in the Facebook comments asking, âIs this on Netflix?â
Episode 4
Clip 1 - Sad couch crew
I felt Tyler and Shay were being friendly to Megan here, not snide, at least on a superficial level. Though I guess you can take their excitement about the concert as passive-aggressiveness.
Tyler mentioning the Illuminati - how very Isak. TBH I really hope Julie is making both Shay and Tyler gay, since theyâre dividing up the Isak moments between the two. Iâm fine if Tyler doesnât get the big season-long arc and it goes to Shay instead, Iâd love to see her get it. But itâs just going to leave such a bad taste if theyâve made Isak into a wlw with no equivalent to the gay male representation that already existed, when there are many supposedly straight female characters who could be have been made into wlw. Especially the Vilde equivalent, who you could easily give a story about discovering and accepting her sexuality, or the Chris character, who didnât have her own season and really didnât have any substantial character issues suggested on the level of Vildeâs home life, and would benefit from a meaty arc.Â
I love Shay, sheâs definitely one of the highlights of the show, Iâm just tired of all the fighting over whether itâs better for S3 to focus on a gay boy or a lesbian and seeing a lot of gross shit in the discussions thatâs either minimizing the importance of an f/f storyline because homophobia is worse for men in Texas/lesbians donât have it that bad/lesbians are already represented on TV because theyâre accepted by straight men who find them sexy/someone doesnât care about lesbians and will only accept Evak 2.0, or minimizing the importance of Evak/another m/m storyline because Skam and the other remakes already have gay ships so donât get greedy/gay men are already accepted because look at all the m/m on Tumblr and AO3/people only want another Evak because theyâre disgusting fetishizers. Itâs fucked up how most of these talk relies on the assumption that there can be only one LGBT story on Skam at a time and not pushing back on why it goes without question that S1 and a hypothetical S2 about Grace/Daniel can both be about heterosexual relationships.Â
Not to be one of those obnoxious people referencing YA novels in response to real life situations, but it makes me think of Katniss at the climax of Catching Fire when her group of Tributes is fighting the Career Tributes and she fires at the force field instead. Remember who the real enemy is.Â
Thatâs a joke, donât take that too seriously.
Anyway Iâm tired.Â
Considering how shitty heâs been acting previously, Tyler not laughing at Marlonâs comments and just deliberately eating a potato chip is a step up for him.
Speaking of the chips, they disappear in between shots and I guess Tyler could be putting the bag on the floor between takes or something but it looks like a regular old continuity error.
Marlon is a mega dick and I dislike him but I kinda canât believe that I agreed with him about the teamâs social standings vs. their practice time. But it was Marlon who said it so it sounded like a dick move.
See, heâs been such a dick that itâs hard to feel sorry for him! But also heâs in the right to feel hurt about the concert.
I don't have much to say except he is the least convincing person to be talking about how heâs not upset and he doesnât care. Heâs so obviously pissed.
Thereâs just not a shred of chemistry between these two. I donât get why theyâre together, I donât get what they like about each other, they barely seem to have much fun together. There isnât much of a rapport.
Pointless personal anecdote #1: When this clip came out, I watched it on my phone at a graduation party, and I'm not kidding, in the few minutes while I was watching some middle-aged parents started talking about wanting to move to Texas when they retire, and they named cities and singled out Austin as a bad choice because âitâs been overtaken by liberals,â lmao. There was no way they could have realized I was watching a show set in Austin. The stars just aligned.
Clip 2 - Kelsey, no
Grace is really concerned about Kelsey sleeping with Daniel so soon, probably because what happened in her own past messed her up.
âEver since I was a little girl watching the Super Bowl, I knew I was going to lose my virginity to a football player.â .... when I was a little girl watching the Super Bowl I only cared about seeing the commercials with the pretty horses.
âIt was like he was going down on me, but in my mouthâ ⊠oh my God ⊠someone SAVE this child.
Kelsey, you donât even know what anyone going down on you in the âcorrectâ place feels like, and this just makes you sound like inexperienced and Not Ready . And Iâm glad Meg and Grace are suitably horrified.
Oh, they actually mentioned the issue of insurance, thatâs good. But she looked a little uncomfortable with the topic of insurance, so if she has a similar financial situation to Vilde, insurance might be an issue? Or, as was hinted later via texts, she might have a super religious or conservative mom who would not take her to the doctor. She might be able to go to Planned Parenthood for birth control except Iâm not sure if minors can get prescriptions for the pill without parental consent because well, Texas.
I checked out of curiosity and it looks like the only type of birth control you can get at PP without parental consent are condoms and lol, Grace already had that covered.
âYou know you should use a condom, right?â âWhat if he doesnât want to use a condom?â âThen you know you shouldnât have sex with him.â YES. JESUS. Thank you Grace.
âI talked to Jo this weekend and I prayed about it last nightâ Oh come on, theyâre going to have her mention praying about Zoyaâs participation on the team and then not even address the sex-religion topic? Okay. Kelsey doesnât even have to be abstinent or opposed to premarital sex, not all Christians are, I feel like it just makes sense for someone to be like, âIsnât having sex before marriage against your religion?â And if Kelsey objected to the question on the grounds that theyâre making assumptions about her religion, they could always come back at her with âWell, you assumed Muslims couldnât dance.â
Kudos to Grace for talking sense about the Zoya situation and being very calm and careful about the Daniel thing.
Clip 3 - Backseat
The editing at the start of the clip made me think the mom might be talking to Megan at first but no, the mom is on her phone. Momâs communication skills werenât so great in this clip.
The dialogue is pretty on the nose and super specific to the theeeeeeme, with the mom putting all this implied pressure on Megan, but the passive aggressiveness about Meganâs dad is sadly accurate to how certain married-with-kids dynamics are, with the parents always at each otherâs throats and dismissive of each other and not caring about how the kids react to these constant fighting.Â
I saw some people wondering why Megan was sitting in the backseat and honestly, that didnât seem too weird to me. Itâs not typical but Iâve ridden in the backseat even when I was the only passenger before (usually because sometimes riding in the front seat makes me sick) Â but I could see like, a moody teenager wanting to text her boyfriend and not wanting her mom to glance over at her phone. Although the simplest explanation is that Julie wants to hide the parentsâ faces.
I didnât even notice the giant concert posters at first, I was focused on the homeless man. I am assuming he was there to remind us of the stakes to succeed in this world if youâre much of a âdreamerâ as Megâs mom puts it, where if you donât get a good job that can be you living on the streets, and to get a good job you need to get a degree from a good school, and to get a degree from a good school you need to perform well in high school, and if you make one mistake you are ruined, RUINED forever.Â
Meg trying to ask her mom for relationship advice and instead getting reminded that her parents have a shit relationship, lovely.Â
The difference in the tone between the coworker call and the dad call is very telling. Right off the bat, when the dad calls, the mom has a pissed-off attitude. Theyâre at the stage where they fight just to fight.
Also, note the guilt trip caused by the mom yelling at the dad for not remembering she was going to her friendâs (and like, who cares, I mean this might be part of a larger problem but this sounds like the pettiest shit to argue about) and saying people show they appreciate and support each other by listening and taking interest in their loves, when thatâs exactly what Megan didnât do (skipping Marlonâs show that he was so hyped for) and thatâs how she feels she can make it up to him (by buying tickets to the concert he had mentioned).
And the mom says people show they care by listening when she doesnât even listen to her own daughter and interrupts her when sheâs trying to ask a question, and sheâs definitely not paying attention to Meganâs life. Like, how is it that they can miss that sheâs not on the dance team? Surely the team has some performances or competitions that theyâd attend? Fundraisers? I can see them not attending all of Meganâs dance performances, but any of them?Â
Meganâs mom is a piece of work, though Iâm sure the dad plays his part in the dysfunction too, I donât want to put it all on the mother.
Clip 4 - Straw
Franz Ferdinand???
Not that this is the point but Iâm intrigued by this locker setup. But I am from a place with cold cold winters so the idea of having one of these lockers in January seems terrible.
I was curious if Kendrick Lamar was actually supposed to perform in Austin on Friday, so I checked it out, and lo and behold, it was a real concert. Good job, Skam Austin.
It kinda just makes me sad that THIS is how Meg gets Marlonâs attention again, by buying (probably) expensive concert tickets.
âyou two are smashing in that bathroom by the nurseâs officeâ at least youâre nearby if you need offbeat advice and some condoms? Oh wait, this is Texas. Never mind the last one.
This is my chance to talk about how gross I find the word âsmashâ in any sexual context. It just sounds uncomfortable and makes me think of potatoes.
Shoutout to Tylerâs Prince shirt, certainly a unique wardrobe choice.
Man, Kelsey is just such an easy target. Especially with the way she talks, like-like-like ⊠blood in the water. Tyler and Shay are not here for Kelsey and Jo right off the bat and once Kelsey opens her mouth, itâs doom.
At least Kelsey had the sense to keep Zoya on the team list even if it was for self-serving reasons.
I applaud these actresses for effort, but every version of the iconic spoon scene has felt forced compared to the original. Josefina, my darling, if youâre going to be seductive with your straw, you might wanna purse your lips instead of letting it roll around in and out of your mouth.
I think itâs great that Jo and Tyler spoke Spanish to each other, and that they didnât have subtitles, but lol at the brazenness of asking that question right in front of Shay when Shay could possibly speak Spanish herself. Or lmao, anyone who has taken Spanish I could understand what she was saying. (Like what if Shay was his girlfriend? Kinda think Jo isnât concerned with technicalities.)
Calling him jefe, lmao, wow.
Tyler referring to Kelsey as Drew Barrymore made me laugh. Do kids these days have a firm grasp on Drew Barrymoreâs legacy? What has she been in recently other than Santa Clarita Diet?
Maybe instead of references to Romeo + Juliet, we can get allusions to Ever After, The Wedding Singer, or Never Been Kissed. (Maybe not that last one.)
Also, Iâm glad Meg spoke up for Kelsey so they werenât just bashing her new friends.
Clip 5 - Internet quizzes should not be used to make major life decisions
Zoya is just looking through a book while Kelsey is talking.
Some of Kelseyâs rules:Â
âAlways act classyâ
âNo cursing, fighting, messy hair or appearanceâ while wearing the uniform
âPositive vibes ONLYâ
But yeah, hereâs another example of why the dance team wasnât the best way to adapt russ because like ⊠of course Kelsey is being rude and ridiculous, and I canât say Iâm on her side against Zoya, but ⊠if the team founder calls a meeting to discuss rules, itâs expected that you will be there to discuss the rules and not blow it off?Â
With Vildeâs bus, first of all, russ was several years away and they had time to pull it all together. A dance team is going to require some results in the near future, especially if the team is school-approved and getting them out of P.E. Someone is probably going to be checking up on the girls and making sure theyâre not getting P.E. credit for sitting around and doing nothing. Second, pretty sure a bus group is not going to require as much day to day practice, training, and energy as a dance team.
I donât know, however silly Kelseyâs motivations might be, if you sign up for someoneâs dance team ⊠you should expect to dance, dude. That goes for all the girls.
When prompted to give her opinion of Zoya, Jo cleverly deflects with the quiz, as her opinion of Zoya is clearly â€ïžâ€ïžâ€ïž
I do love and appreciate Grace trying to persuade Kelsey to rethink the whole sleeping with Daniel thing. Not being too harsh, but being firm and not hesitating to point out all the ways itâs not a good choice.
Also being like âkeep in mind heâs not your boyfriendâ thank youuuu.
Kelsey sure doesnât like that part about people judging her for having premarital sex. At least they might bring it up in the aftermath of hooking up with Daniel?
âThat definitely didnât happen.â âIt did happen and she canât eat Sweet Tarts anymore.â Jo continues to be the shining star of this show, I laughed out loud at her delivery of that line.Â
Whenever one of the Chrises is like âI was totally wastedâ about their first time, Iâm just like đ§
Kelsey saying option A on the quiz, for her âboyfriendâ and her being closer once they sleep together, is the most depressing thing. Stop this train before it goes off the rails.
Oh God. Kelsey does not need to be anywhere near a penis at this juncture. The way she starts giggling and laughing when Grace suggests to think about what turns her on about Daniel ⊠you are not ready to have sex. You are barely ready to talk about sex. None of the Vildes has seemed so young and not ready to go through with this.
Kelsey did not talk about not wanting to be involved in lesbianism, hmmmMMMM. Foreshadowing? Or maybe Julie just realized that people didnât like the casual lesbophobia if you donât have a lesbian character?Â
I havenât been all that complimentary to the actors on this show, but I do want to give Kelseyâs actress some props for reciting that whole monologue, which is just a detailed Teen Vogue photoshoot.
Itâs amusing that Kelsey integrated the Kittens uniform into her erotic fantasy but sad that Kelsey still wants to be a Kitten so much. Sheâs not wearing a uniform for her own group, whatever she might want it to be, sheâs wearing a Kitten uniform in her ideal scenario.
You know Jo is listening to this fantasy and getting inspiration for her next Kelsey makeup experiment. Also, it makes me laugh that theyâre having this discussion in a library.
Overheard in Bouldin - TMI Girl in Library:Â âPeople get turned on my different things all the time. My cousinâs thing is dirty socks. She keeps a pair of her ex-boyfriendâs in a Ziploc bag under her bed.â
May we one day meet this intriguing cousin of yours, Jo.
But donât encourage this Daniel nonsense.
Itâs too bad we didnât get the classic doctor visit but lol, a school doctor in Texas might not be able to be so blatant with the sex ed tips, so I get it. And ultimately I would prefer if Julie tried out new scenes instead of trying to recreate old ones.
At first I thought Kelsey maybe didnât know who Kendrick Lamar was. Which is perfectly plausible, letâs be real.
âWhen I have ever asked you for anything?â In the short time Meg has known you, Kelsey ... find Jo, join the dance team, get closer to Penetrator Jo, give you her birth control pills.
Clip 6 - Bowling
Kelseyâs outfit is almost exactly what she described in her fantasy! No access to a Kittens dance uniform, but otherwise very close. Follow your dreams, kids.Â
âMartin had a dream ⊠Martin had a dream âŠâ look, I like that Skam uses a variety of music and not just white indie rock, but can we like ⊠quit syncing music by black artists talking about black cultural topics to scenes of this white dude being a big deal.
Look at that dipshit taking up two parking spaces. Fuck offffffffffffff
Kelsey looks so happy and Daniel looks like heâs already 75% checked out.
How long is this Kendrick bowling montage going to go on?
Ha, Kelsey easily had the worst bowling score of the four of them.
âDaniel just touched my ass.â The way Kelsey was thrilled about this was kind of cute and alarming.
Kelsey wanting Meg to stay with them as long as she can makes me think she really just doesnât want to go through with the impending loss of virginity.
âThen howâd you know my name at Talent Night?â I mean ... you do go to school together, and Jo is on the football team with a high social profile. I could name a lot of my high school classmates by name even if Iâve never spoken to them.
Is Julie going to go full Chris/Eva with this version to give the shippers their day in the sun? I love original Eva/Jonas but Meg/Marlon is an unpleasant trainwreck so I canât say Iâm disappointed. I mean I canât say I love Meg/Penetrator Jo either,, but Iâm not sad about this version of Eva/Jonas not being endgame.
Penetrator Jo is still sleazy in at least a few respects (donât be a cocktease) and we have still have to meet his girlfriend but his memory of her seems legit so maybe he does really like her. Unless, I donât know, he stalked her IG and remembered some relevant details and embellished this whole story?
Lmao, I can get why people might think the âNo Signalâ scenario would be a contrivance but that exact thing has happened to me, so I buy it.
I will give Julie this credit, sheâs good at setting up Fredag/Friday scenarios where we think one thing will happen, and instead something else occurs thatâs completely different from the fan theories. I figured it would be as simple as Meg or Marlon missing the concert, not that weâd spot Marlon (or âMarlonâ) with Abby
I donât think itâs Marlon, though. That seems a lot like Tylerâs walk, and the person doesnât seem to be wearing Marlonâs ugly shoes.Â
General Comments:
Itâs kind of depressing to see people in the FB group and in the comments be like, âI havenât seen the original show but could Grace be a lesbian? đâ and the replies be like âNo, Noorhelm is coming đâ
Another âfunâ aspect of having this show on Facebook: the MAGA edgelord assholes who leave comments on the episodes about âcucksâ and âlibtards.â
My opinion of Grace rose so much in this episode just by how doggedly she is trying to bring Kelsey back to earth. and telling her she can back out of this choice.Â
In the texts, Grace said she would buy condoms for Kelsey - good job - and later, when Kelsey asked the girls what she should wear for losing her virginity, said, âI know what Daniel will be wearingâ and said that she put condoms in Kelseyâs purse - excellent job.
I feel like Grace would roll the condom on Danielâs dick herself if it meant Kelsey had safe sex.
Abby was stressing over finals on IG so Iâd bet that was a hint she needed something to help her out, hence meeting up with Marlon/Tyler for Adderall.
I was wondering what kind of music would be on Skam Austin since original Skam had all sorts of high-profile artists, and that would not be cheap, but so far, it seems like Facebook spared no expense with the soundtrack.
Grace and Shay had IG posts reacting to the Santa Fe High School Shooting. IDK how much Skam Austin would address gun violence in the episodes itself in the future, and I can think of ways it could go very badly, but sadly, as one of the biggest concerns of American teenagers today, it would be very relevant, and thatâs what Skamâs supposed to be, after all.

For such countless individuals, going to the hairdresser is both a useful and wonderful experienceâa loosening up try that, in a perfect world, produces incredible outcomes.

At cut fade, creativity and consumer loyalty are both foremostâand the commitment to the art does not shock anyone when you consider the way that one of the fellow benefactors, Daren âDeeâ Vandeyar, has been enthusiastic about hair for a large portion of his life.
Truth be told, Dee has been in the business for a very long time and has been trimming hair since he was only 11 years of age.
At the point when Dee was as yet in primary school, his more established cousin from Trinidad dropped by and remained with his family for half a month. One early morning, Dee saw his cousin trimming his hair with a bunch of trimmers.
In addition to the fact that this was the first run through Dee saw a bunch of trimmers, however, it was additionally the first occasion when he saw anyone trimming their hair. Presently, Dee was no more bizarre to at-home hairstyles, as his mom used to trim his hair.
Be that as it may, somebody trimming their hair in a barbershop? That was something newâand motivating.
Luckily for Dee, his cousin neglected to take his trimmers back home with him, provoking him to begin testing by trimming his hair. Over the long haul, Dee turned out to be more capable with his trimmers and in the end started offering to trim othersâ hair.
Continuously a trend-setter, Dee began offering $5 slices to his kindred understudies at his School in Mississauga. Before long, colleagues were arranging for a hairstyle from Dee.
Here are a few questions and answers to understand barbers, barbershop and barber services.
Can you go to the barber with wet hair?
It is not recommended to go to the barber with wet hair, because it is important for the barber to know how your hair will do when it is dry. It is recommended for a barber to trim the hair while its damp.
Can I ask my barber for a recommendation?
Of course, a barber can always give their recommendation on what they think would be most suitable for your hair type.
Can barbers make 100k a year?
This is dependent on several different factors; experience, skill, clientele, length of time per client, working hours, and etc. Non the less, it is likely for an experienced hardworking barber to make 100K per year.
How much money do I need to open a barbershop?
This is dependent on the area that you wish to open a barbershop at and the ambiance you choose to use. In Canada, opening a barbershop would range between $100,000 and $300,000.
How much do high end barbers make?
On average, a high end baber can charge around $33 dollar per haircut. Depending on their working hours, they are able to earn six figures a year.
