just rremembered how when i was like 12 i still didnt have a mobile phone and i legitimately had no idea how to use one and when i was at a friends house cause apparently that was something i was capable of having back then but anyway the friends mum wanted me to call my mum on her phone and put the phone on the table on speaker but i literally had no idea what speaker was and leaned in and put my face right next to it, it was so embarrassing when she told me i didnt have to do that

The symbolism of the snake embroidery on Vergil's clothes and my theories on how he might have acquired his outfit. (he's broke asf he didn't get it with money guys)

In the first Devil May Cry novel we learn that teenager Dante had his red jacket custom made. He is actually pissy about it when it gets ruined with bullet holes. He then wears a fuckass black jacket, which makes him look embarrassing.

Dante was drinking and using firearms when he was 15 or 16 years old; but he had a job (albeit his job being a MERCENARY. Also twins being European really shows because he was having drinking contests as a fucking 15 year old, god), so he had enough money to buy himself a custom made jacket. But the thing is, we don’t know how teenager Vergil got his outfit. It’s too well made to be bought in a normal store. Vergil probably had no money—though it is hinted that after Mundus' attack, young Vergil may have used public transportation (I also have a headcanon that he didn't know how to open a portal until he was at least 12 so that makes sense) and even bought himself food. These may have happened before or after the attack but let's say after the attack since Sparda, Eva, and the twins were living a secluded life. Still, being homeless and constantly on the run, his concept of the value of money is more like ‘money’ and ‘a LOT of money.’ He had no use for finance; what important was to get powerful and gain knowledge.

So, he probably didn’t get it with money. Vergil was never in one place long enough to earn money. I also don't see him as someone who would kill or hurt people to steal their money (he actually kinda did it in VoV,,, but that was different), so the idea of custom made clothing bought with human currency doesn't sit with me.

He might have used demonic magic to create his outfit. We see a demonstration of this in DMC5 with Trish, who uses her magic to literally recreate her entire outfit. This is very weird and left unexplained, which frustrates me because I need to rationalize things. Perhaps demons can do this because they can infuse anything with their demonic energy, and since the clothes they wear are made of organic material, they can recreate or even sew them back together. In Vergil's case, it's more like 'create a whole new outfit in mind's eye and boom now you have a ridiculous cravat.'

Another possibility is that he had it custom-made, but not with human currency. Demons, or at least a certain demonic/supernatural entity (the God of Time, aka the Divinity Statue), accept red orbs as a form of payment.

Vergil probably visited many places on his trauma blind journey of gaining power. I might overdo here, but what if he came across a strange tailor and they made a deal like, "You give me 70 thousand red orbs, and I give you a slutty vest, a ridiculous cravat, nice shoes and a cool coat with snake embroidery on it." and Vergil was like "Aight." Maybe he was intending to infuse his outfit with his magic anyway. It was a win-win situation.

It's funny to imagine Vergil designing his outfit, just being a teenager for once.

So, Vergil could have saved up red orbs to get a cool coat. Demonic establishments are kind of canon, so that’s a possibility. He was a teenager it’s only natural that he liked teenager things, even in his traumatized and hunted state. At a certain point in his life, he became strong enough to indulge in some of his likes.

Speaking of snake embroidery, Vergil has SO MUCH snake symbolism on him, and on his clothes too! Snakes were adored and respected throughout history before paganism started to get shitted on. Snakes represent wisdom, REBIRTH, healing, transformation, and knowledge. That’s why Satan, disguised as a snake, gave Eve the apple (knowledge) (also, knowledge of the occult was really given to women first). The snake detail on his clothes might even be magic, too. It's nearly an occult symbol on its own. Maybe a sigil? I know sigils aren't a thing in DMC but I don't care I'll go apeshit with my theories.

Whether the serpent detail was intentional or unintentional, it’s still a great detail considering his story and character. He goes through transformation (Nero Angelo), then rebirth (Vergil rebirth party in DMC5), and healing (basically the whole plot of Visions of V).

So, just teenager Vergil researching the occult and being fascinated with the symbolism of the serpent. OR he straight up stole it. :l This bitch split his demonic and human self apart and like 1 day after his human self came to existence he had to deal with money and his first thought was to steal it. ok so i was feeling nostalgic today and started thinking about how my first time going through ddlc was so i’m making a post about it lol

buckle up this is going to be a long one

so i first heard of the game when it first came out in 2017, which means i was like… 12 years old?? so definitely should not have been watching it but what can ya do. anyway i’ve seen the title in a bunch of yt videos which described it as a horror game, and i was intrigued bc… 4 cute anime girls? how is that a horror game. i was too much of a scaredy cat to actually download it on our family computer so i watched some ddlc playthrough in yt. and i was so bored throughout the first half of act one lmao. i think i mentioned it before but when i first encountered the game i wanted to go the monika route, and i was so disappointed it wasn’t an option (until later on when i realised why it wasn’t an option). also the yt video i watched went down the yuri route and look, i didnt necessarily have a problem with the shy girl character type, what i did have a problem with (and still do to some extent) was how the shy girl is always portrayed in anime. i was definitely a shy person growing up, so seeing the traits that had caused me so many problems be considered adorable and desirable kinda irked me the wrong way. so yeah, first half of the game i was pretty unimpressed. i didn’t dislike it, i just thought “i’ve seen these character archetypes before, i know how this is going to play out, i’ll just wait until the other shoe drops”. and oh boy it did.

i remember that scene in sayori’s bedroom to this day dude. this is probably embarrassing to admit, but i honestly believe that scene changed the trajectory of my life. i live in a very uneducated country on the subject of mental health, so i had no idea on anything surrounding it. i’ve heard the term “depression” before, but it was only brought up either in a joking way or in a way of saying someone is too far gone. which is obviously not the case, but that’s how it was usually used back then in my environment. so to see a character that (even if i wasn’t as emotionally invested in bc of how tropey they were at that point) i liked talk about how they struggle with it was a very eye opening experience to say the least. it’s kind of funny thinking back, but i really was like “huh. depression is actually a real thing people can go through. and it could also be something people i care about have to go through. and something i could go through.”. it sounds dumb when i write it down but that was srsly how it was.

then act 2 happened, i don’t really have much to say about act 2 bc throughout the whole thing i was just uncomfortable and unsettled, which is definitely what act 2 is supposed to make you feel. natsuki was now somehow the most normal one, i didn’t like yuri even more now bc she was now also weirdly obsessive, i knew monika was up to something i just couldn’t wrap my head around what. a moment that stuck with me a lot during act 2 was the whole “can you hear me?” thing in monika’s second writing tip, bc wow this girl knows something and is also very clearly trapped by something and WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?? i literally had no idea where the story was going so the reveal hit me like a truck.

act 3… what to say about act 3… i was so mind blown you don’t even know. remember that i was like 12 at the time, this was my first ever experience with the media breaking the fourth wall. and from what i remember i had an… interesting viewpoint on it. i think there are two ways to interpret monika’s self awareness. first up is taking it under the context of the story, basically knowing that she isn’t actually self aware but for the sake of the story following along with the idea that she is. second one is taking it under the context of the behind the scenes, so you understand that she isn’t actually self aware but you can’t ignore it and just immerse yourself back in the story. it’s a risk the creator takes with breaking the fourth wall, bc the second interpretation usually ruins the idea behind the media. i had the second reaction to the awareness reveal. and i think it gives the game an entire new meaning, one that probably wasn’t the original one but i’d like to talk about it. the only thing i was able to think throughout monika’s monologues was : “oh crap. she thinks she’s self aware but in actuality she is programmed to kill her friends. she isn’t free from the script, she’s still following it. the creator just made her think she is aware but actually, she is just as much of a puppet as the other girls and she doesn’t even realise. she’s trapped in an even worse way than the other girls. bc she thinks she is free”. which, is definitely not what dan was going for, but i gotta say it is ten times scarier.

and then sayori goes through the epiphany too and then monika deletes the game and the credits roll but i was so flabbergasted by everything before that i couldn’t even form thoughts through act 4.

so yeah 12yo me was not only struck with the realisation that feelings are real things (thanks to sayori) but now also the thought that just because you experience something that could be 100% real to you doesn’t mean it actually is (thanks to monika). needless to say this game changed me as a person.

I’ve noticed that some of you guys aren’t familiar with Mlp lore I don’t blame you I’ll supply some terminology and definitions so we’re all on the same page. I’ll be focusing on the lore of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic which I’ll be shortening to MLPFIM for simplicity sake. I’ll only go over really basic lore so you don’t need to watch the show to understand this post.

These special talents are usually an activity that comes natural to its owners. Some can get rather abstract in meaning and design while others might be obvious. For example, a pony good at drawing might have a pencil and paper as a cutie mark. This gets very existential the more you think about it

Equestria - the central setting of MLPFIM ruled by two princesses. It’s home to ponies, dragons, and a multitude of fantasy creatures.

Pony - Ponies exist as three main types; Earth Ponies (normal horse), Pegasus (horse with wings), and Unicorns (wizard horse).

Pegasus (lore) - Pegasi can fly and move/stand on clouds. They usually work in controlling the weather. The weather is weirdly manual in the MLPFIM universe I’m not getting into it

Unicorns - Horses with a horn that allow them to use magic! Mostly telekinesis unless the pony is has raw magical talent (ie. Twilight Sparkle).

Earth Ponies - Normal horses but agricultural makes bank so they aren’t complaining.

Alicorns - All three horse types in one er a Pegasus with a horn.

I originally made a cringey Smosh pony ‘series’ in middle school. All your favorite characters are here! Looking back, this entire concept was just really self indulgent. I shipped myself with Anthony (gurl wtf you’re 12??? Of course she’s an alicorn too lol) and some of these characters. As embarrassing as this is, I remember getting my friends involved, and we all would bounce ideas off each other about plot and lore. Just a bunch of preteen artists meshing what they love in one big project.

That being said if my preteen horse sona did meet Ian and Anthony it would probably be like this:

Cynicism aside I decided to draw the old designs of Ian and Anthony for old times sake.

I have no clue why they’re wearing hoodies like an eddsworld character or why Anthony has the Smosh symbol as a cutie mark but Ian doesn’t.

Fast forward to fuckin last year I got the idea for the April Fools Smosh horse thing and my brain just ran with it. This entire 'au' is one big satire of my middle school concept.

Terms like ‘cutie mark’ and ‘Equestria’ are replaced with ‘soul brand’ and ‘Equin’ since it doesn’t actually take place in the MLP universe.

Minor spoilers: Sketch ver. Ian and Anthony fuckin die and are reincarnated as horses forgetting their past lives. They grew up and live as social outcasts unable to use magic/fly properly because they literally don’t belong there and the universe is actively rejecting them. They fight forces that look like biblically accurate angels because they’re celestial bodies trying to remove them from the universe (Ian and Anthony are only fighting them because they think the big wheels with eyes are keeping them there but it’s actually something else).

With that being said, art time!

That got me thinking about what Ian and Anthony would look like if they were in the mlp universe. Of course my brain took this concept and ran with it. I’d like to share what I came up with!

Stellar Prism (Anthony) and Golden Horizon (Ian)

• They got their cutie marks together at the same time as kids.

• Gold’s talent is radiating sun energy that makes everyone in a 10ft radius happy. He literally glows when he’s happy.

• Prism can focus on someone’s talent and magnify the magic energy from them. I used Anthony’s quote of being a magnifying glass as a jumping off point.

• They preform comedy shows together akin to a manzai routine where Prism is the straight man and Gold is the funny man. They’d travel Equestria preforming together.

• Just like real life, Prism split from Gold because he felt like he didn’t know who he was without Gold. His talent is showing other people’s potential but he wanted to discover his own. While split, Prism studied more “unpopular” forms of magic to rediscover himself. He basically went through the abyss but came out on the other side self content. His ‘tattoos’ are side effects from these magic experiments.

• During the split, Gold met other aspiring comedians (other Smosh members) and they all formed into a comedy troupe.

• When Gold reunited with Prism, he was so happy that he accidentally flashbanged Prism.

• Prism calls Gold “Duck” because he looks like a rubber duck.

• Gold is a pretty fast flyer. He can out-fly most members of the troupe.

Si Ming x Jin Bao official novel pt 3

Some scenes I liked or found interesting from chapters 7 -15

-Ok, so apparently he wasn't kidnapped just taken home. Jin Bao got really sick for a month though and after that he had a lot of memory problems which is why he doesn't recognize Si Ming later. He also started having trouble remembering things without reminders.

-Jin Bao is sold when the Jin family is looking to pay for a playmate for Xiaobao. His family is starving and homeless at this point. His 3 year old sister is sick. They planned to sell his older brother, but the Jin family wanted someone Xiaobao's age.

-First meeting with Xiaobao & Zhao Cai: Jin Bao falls asleep after eating a lot and wakes up with Xiaobao sitting on his stomach, writing on his face. Zhao Cai watches and laughs.

-Zhao Cai sneaks him food after he spends the day crying. (He realized he's been sold) He also walks Jin Bao in circles outside until he's tired enough to sleep. (He can't sleep, just cries.)

-Xiaobao treated them like brothers <3

-Si Ming's opera mask returns.

-Growing up, Si Ming wrote about his memories of Jin Bao and drew him, so he wouldn't forget. Those memories were his happy place after his father's execution. It makes it hurt all the more that Jin Bao has forgotten him. (He doesn't know about the long fever and brain damage, so he thinks Jin Bao just forgot him normally.)

-Jin Bao gets stuck with all the chores because Zhao Cai is too lazy and they couldn't hire maids because Xiaobao is perv and would probably sleep with them ><

-Jin Bao's top 3 hottest guys in no particular order: Si Ming (Devilish beauty), Su Yin (Pine), and Huai'en (Moon). Literally every person he thought was hot in this entire book has been a guy and he still as the audacity to be confused when he kisses a guy. (Edit: he does show attraction to Chan'er later, so he is bisexual after all).

-The responsibility line came into play! Si Ming said anyone who saw him without his mask had to take responsibility. He took off his mask and kissed Jin Bao while he was in the tub. Naked Jin Bao flies out of the tub and ATTACKS HIM kicking and punching.

-JIn Bao agrees to sleep with him so he'll help Xiaobao =( Si Ming wants to make him remember, and if he can't, he wants to punish him and give him memories he can't forget. He feels really embarrassed for pining his whole life over someone who has forgotten him. He's also angry because Jin Bao was the one who wanted to get married and made promises, and now he is disinterested.

-Zhao Cai meets a girl in the medicine shop! Her name is Xiao Rou!! She actually gets to meet Jin Bao and it looks like she and Zhao Cai are trying to hook him up with her cousin Chan'er.

-Si Ming is ALSO caught up in some sort of intrigue. He's got a blood curse and a family after him. I think it's the doctor from before. He wants revenge for his father. So he brings something to Shao Yu who also wants to deal with that family because they threaten the throne. The blood curse left red vines around his eyes which is why he wears the mask.

-omg...in the book Shao Yu is 11 or 12?!?!!? No wonder he acts like a child in the series. He IS a child.

Its my city now ive been thinking about oc dynamics for the other brothers. I decided toto recycle some old fandom ocs from my preteen years bc its both funny and thematically appropriate.

The only new ones are like wendy and suzi. Suzi is sorta not new but so completely revamped and wasn’t ever really developed anyways.

I have to figure out like actual names for two bc they’ve only gone by nicknames. I also thought it would be fun to have more cartoonish/surreal characters instead of just regular people.

Kitti (nickname)- when i made her, she originally was a Boy Scout and kinda based off of spongebob. Now ive changed her to like a big sister like character except she really ISN’T. She’s the younger sister of twins, neither the brain or muscle behind their duo. She’s sweet, dense, and a stickler for order. She’s a mycologist and likes to hang out in the woods. She is dating oso im still working on their dynamic but theyre definitely childhood friends who find each other again in adulthood oso confuses her for her twin sister and is like: whoa, so you decided to become a girl!! Thats so cool can i see ur boobs since we’re old friends?? She meets oso thru totty who shes friends with bc theyre both girls.

Wendy - basically a small, loud little henchman or hypeman. She’s so so small in height and so round. She looks like a shark, has very pointy teeth, beady lil teeth, and is very scary except her voice is really adorable. She is karamatsu’s biggest fucking fan, and hyped him up as much as he does to the point where sometimes he’s embarrassed. I think she’s weird and funny bc she has a rich inner world completely detached from him that she never tells him about except for concerning bits and pieces. So far theyre my favorite bc i drew her telling kara when hes not there she goes to nurtitionland and hangs out with talking carrots. Kara absolutely adores her and tries to explain her appeal constantly but everyone side eyes him.

Sindri - I haven’t really figured it out yet bc Sindri was an oc i used to really adore. I remember having like a really lavish and dramatic backstory for him that was super serious but i kinda don’t wanna do all of that anymore but dont wanna erase all of it either. Slowly rebuilding him. I ship him w choro tho

Esaias- another recycled but kinda loved oc. He was like one of my least favorites but I had developed him a loooot. Almost all of his original characterization and background are the same, so he grew up in a paramilitary Christian cult ran by his step father and mother that only consisted of his immediate family. His childhood sucked but you wouldn’t know it bc he was the blacksheep, and thoroughly ignored but a lot of the family politics bc hes considered the illegitimate eldest. He’s actually really normal and nice and in Japan for grad school and to train under Fighting Yowai. He makes Ichi really nervous bc he’s like a normie or something but he also is really strange. They have a really funny dynamic to me but eventually hes kinda like a security blanket ichi carries and he is there basically like “damn bitch you live like this? Thats so cool can you teach me?”

Suzi - she didn’t have a very thick background, I made her when I was like literally 12 and didn’t like her very much to the point where her entire narrative was that i killed off her sister. Which is funny bc i love her now and so I killed her off too. She’s a ghost! Like a sadako/okiku type of ghost. Looks very scary and only jyushi can see her and at first he’s terrified of her but it’s really actually lighthearted and silly. His brothers are all weirded out by jyushi’s new imaginary friend but they are a loveydovey couple even tho shes dead and he aint.

The tallest of my ocs. She can only handle the responsibility of taking care of Kitti, so she cant cook or clean (kitti must) but she does everything else. She’s a drop out fashion student, and a cringefail girl. The only one who can make kitti, who comes across as a big sister character be a whiny baby. I ship her with nyaa bc i think itd be funny

i am soooo fucking tired of being in the closet. holy fucking shit. this is insane. i've literally been taking HRT for a year and 2 months and i'm still girlmoding because my fucking dad still lives with me and he has no clue that i'm a dude. like... my voice is deep, i'm growing facial hair, and my whole body is changing and this man looks right at me and says "girl". HELLO... and like i can't do anything about it. sometimes i have this crazy idea of coming out to him but that would be a disaster. that would end my parents' marriage faster than anything else to be honest. but for now i'm stuck. like first thing i'm doing when i'm 100% out? legal name change. i'm making it official. i'm tired of all these documents and stuff for my university having my deadname. AND I CAN'T CHANGE IT. i can put in a preferred name but like say i graduate and i'm still in the closet (unlikely but let's just say), what name will they put on my diploma? it's just gonna be a whole mess. i want to join clubs and teams but like i feel like there's this huge red flag when i'm giving them one name and my file says another. and my ID card is the worst cause not only is it my deadname, it's this old ass pic of me and i look like i'm five years old 💀💀💀💀 so dysphoria inducing lowkey. it's so fucking annoying. it feels like i'm so close to actually starting life; name change, top surgery, fully, truly out to everyone i know. but because of my dad it's this fucking game of tightrope where i'm half in half out and it's so embarrassing honestly because everyone SUSPECTS something is up but i still have to pretend i'm female. like everyone thinks i'm a lesbian. i don't even like women. help

like the other day i went to a birthday party and was chatting with some guy and he gendered me as male, but he got corrected because i'm still female to everyone there but my mom. so he got flustered or whatever but i'm like NO DUDE U WERE RIGHT 🫠 and he was apologetic but like... he was right. when i say everyone thinks i'm a guy i'm deadass. my passing rate is like 98% atp. but somehow my dad just doesn't see anything. or maybe he doesn't WANT to see it. either way it's fucking frustrating and to be honest i am reaching a breaking point. i can't live like this any longer. i am on T and i am very grateful because i have already made it further than many will, but this shit is driving me insane. i hate being deadnamed and i hate having to sit there and pretend i'm a girl when i'm not. i hate not being able to plan stuff for my top surgery and living with this chest that's killing me and just this overall discomfort. of course T is helping but i just really want top surgery already, i wanted it by next year and it's not looking like it'll happen and it makes me feel distraught. and this legal name shit is just making me feel like a freak of nature bro, i just want to live like a cis person, just have a normal life already. but i still have so much transition to go and it's discouraging. i'm tired of pretending i'm a girl :( i'm not. i hate being introduced as "daughter" when it's clear to everyone that i look like a cis guy and that disconnect begins. it's embarrassing for people to think i'm some really butch lesbian. no hate towards them but like it's just not who i am. and now so many people just think i'm a girl. but i'm not

i wish i was out and i could tell everyone that i'm trans and if they don't like it they can fuck off. if my dad wasn't in the picture i would've done that from the jump. or even if he was supportive. but he never will be cause he's a hypocritical bible-thumper evangelist who loves to go on about god but will act horrible towards me and my whole family. he already is uncomfortable with gay people and he'll surely be uncomfortable with me being a man. one time we went to a hardware store, and a worker gendered me male multiple times (i never corrected her), and after i left the store to go to work (we were there all day for a home reno thing), my mom told me how he firmly corrected the worker, then told my mom how he couldn't believe "she could sit there and listen to that happen". he is firmly set on me being female, and he's a headstrong dumbass. i could tell him how transition has helped me, how i was suicidal before but now i want to live, and he wouldn't give a shit. he finds out i'm doing hormones behind his back, i'm dead. and he'll be angrier at my mom for endorsing it. we're both screwed. he's got guns in the house. i'm toast if that shit comes out ngl

so now i have to sit here and wait for my mom to divorce him (she plans to, but she's been saying that for like a year and nothing's happened yet) but who knows when that'll happen. it's frustrating me and leading me to a lot of resentment for my dad. cause like... he is quite literally the ONLY person that is standing in the way of the rest of my transition kickstarting. i've thought of having top surgery behind his back, it's that bad. but that would be even worse than the hormones in terms of reaction. so what can i do? nothing. it pains me a lot. this is the first time i realized how much pain it causes me. i wish i could be myself, truly. cause right now i guess i'm in a position where i sorta can? but i can't be 100%. and it sucks ass. like dude i really, really want top surgery fuckkkk it's crazy. and the legal name change too, all my ID changing, getting a male gender marker. but it seems so far away. i guess i wouldn't really know what his true reaction would be unless i told him? but that is a can of worms that once spilt, can never be unspilt. there will be a before and an after, and idk what that after will look like. i wish i could see into the future but there's no such thing. there's only the now; and the future is one with it. they happen simultaneously

- tons of jack’s old paintings are in museums, and he loves to go stand there in front of them and muse with strangers about how incredible this mysterious artist, lost to the ages, must’ve been.

- he hates when his pieces end up in private collections bc he’d rather let the public enjoy them— at some point or another, he’s definitely stolen his own work and eventually donated it back to a museum once it’s been long enough that he won’t get in trouble, he’ll just get praised for recovering a long-lost painting

- when davey was younger, he was a certified Weird Kid who wholeheartedly believed in fantasy magic until he was almost in high school. like, he literally didn’t even celebrate christmas but still cried upon finding out santa wasn’t real (which didn’t happen until he was like 12 bc no one ever thought to tell him) and in elementary he was always the kid roleplaying warrior cats or some shit a little too intensely at recess. even as an adult, he still gets a little thrill at the thought of “ok but what if magic was real??”

- jack, race, and medda go on family vacations every few years, but they’ve all already seen so much of the world in their hundreds of years, that their go-to at this point is to pick an all-inclusive resort somewhere tropical. medda is insistent that the only thing that doesn’t get old after being around for this long is lounging on a beach with a cocktail, so that’s exactly what she does. race is still fifteen at heart, and he inevitably gets annoyed and embarrassed by his family and ends up playing volleyball somewhere with other kids. jack likes to go off on guided tours of things he’s seen before just to see how much the tour company gets wrong.

- race has a significantly easier time keeping up with changing trends and technology than jack EVER has, but that still doesn’t mean he’s any good at it. to jack and medda, race is very impressively young and hip… to actual teenagers, race is the weird “old soul” mf who still can’t figure out how to use tiktok like a normal high schooler
