Tumblr media
They're a bit of a meat head, but also like a giant Teddy Bear
Willow can definitely use a friend Especially once Aurora starts dating and they're spending less time together
I'm thinking they meet in gym class, both were left without a partner. Zilan is very motivating, but can over do it at times.
Willow and Fume are Masons best if not only friends so its fair to say he can be a little jealous when the hang out with other elements. Just a little abandonment issues lil bit
Hecc it probably doesn't help Willow started to retreat from socializing around this time because of what happened with Andi
I can see her just trying to get through gym class, not really enjoying the athletic part of it lol, but he says something that finally gets her to laugh
Lol the next time they have gym she actually goes up to him and asks if he wants to be partners again
Willow has a gang of small angry children who would destroy andi if they knew
Mason is more bark than bite most of the time but his best friend isn't gonna be messed with
Willow doesn't actually know the reason he broke it off
Zilan isn't used to people wanting to partner up a second time. Most people find him too intense. So now they cling to her like a barnical to a whale.
Mason probably tells people his mom is the leader of a biker gang to scare them off
She doesn't mind one bit lol She's a little intimidated the first time they met but realizes soon after he's just passionate and admires that. I think it might actually encourage her to start writing again
Oof I think Aurora might not tell Willow about Andi's intentions, but tells Mason. "Please look out for her.. I don't wanna meddle, but that Andi kid took advantage of her. He was trying to get to me.. but also don't tell her about that part. It would break her heart more."
He's disturbed and mad beyond belief but agrees. He remembered times at the orphanage other kids would be kind to him just to make themselves look better to adoption candidates. He didn't want her to hurt like that
Aurora is grateful she has such a good friend
When it first happened Willow was probably really sad and leaned on Mason for a lot of support
Unfortunately she took the talk with sprout the wrong way and started to pretend like she was all good after that Though she hadn't written anything since the break up
Willow inviting Zilan to the bakery after school to come see Aurora perform (Kindlin let's them use the bakery performances every Friday )
She probably doesn't mention she's involved in the production though until Aurora mentions it She's still too modest to talk about her involvement with anyone cus she feels like Aurora is the real star
Zilan doesn't know a lot about music, but really enjoys when the singers look like they are putting there all into they're voice.
Lol I can see Aurora being all smiles until Willow goes to do something Then she narrows her eyes and looks at him. "You better not do anything stupid, you understand? My little sister has been through enough, and she really thinks you're cool. Prove her right." Then is all smiles again as soon as Willow comes back.
Zilan literally has no idea what she’s talking about and is flabbergasted.
“Does she think I'm gonna rob her or something?”
Aurora is totally cool with him after that lol She can see how much her new friend makes her happy Willow smiles much more again after they start hanging out. Making new friends and learning about things other than music and baking kind of takes her mind off of the bad stuff

━━ 𝙏𝙧𝙖𝙞𝙩𝙤𝙧
"Y/n!" Hinata exclaimed as he ran over to you then wrapping his arms around your figure and slightly knocking you off of your feet.
"Oof." you mumbled, "Hey, Hinata." a chuckle escaped your lips.
"You're going to crush her dumb ass!" Kageyama spoke up, "Let her go."
Hinata whined, turning to look at him. "It's not my fault you don't have enough guts to hug her!" he retorted.
Kageyama was too stunned to speak, his cheeks turned pink feeling embarrassed. "I--" he stuttered, "T-that's not true!"
You tried your best to hide your smile. It was adorable seeing him get all flustered, it was a rare sight.
"Then why don't you hug her then?!" Hinata egged him on, "Go on." he slightly smirked.
Kageyama looked at you then off to the side. "It's okay. You don't need to hug me Kageyama-"
"I want to!-..." he blurted out, "But...I-I... um..."
Before you were able to say something else to him, the bell rang. The door slid open again signaling that your teacher had just walked in.
"Alright, everyone off to your seats you go!"
You gave him a reassuring nod then walked towards your seat. Hinata didn't hold his laugh, earning a smack from Kageyama. The black haired couldn't help but look back over his shoulder to look at you. A small smile formed on his lips.
"Remeber to study these upcoming days, the test is Friday." your teacher said, "I also do not want to see anyone getting less than a C. If you need help you can come by my office, I will be staying after school these days."
"Yes, sir." everyone replied.
"Now go and enjoy your lunch." he said, as soon as he was gone all your classmates including yourself got up to get some food.
"Hey, y/n." your friend said, "Do you want to eat with us?"
"Sorry." you said, with an apologetica smile. "I'm helping out today at the gym with a team meeting."
"Why?!" she whined, "Can you skip it this once? I'm sure Coach Ukai won't get mad at you."
"I can't." you answered, "The tournament is coming up soon."
"Fine, say hi the guys for me?" you quickly nodded then ran out the classroom. As much as helping the team win was important to you, the reason you enjoyed going was seeing him. Despite not being to talk sometimes, he always made you smile. It was contagious, when he smiled you smiled. If he laughed, you laughed.
A bubbly feeling filled your chest at the thought of running into him again like yesterday. There was a skip in your step as you walked down the long hallway. As you reached the second to last door, you saw his head sticking out of the doorway.
"Daichi!" you yelled out to him. You picked up the pace to catch up to him.
"I know, but I really have to go guys." he laughed looking at his classmates. "I will talk to them later, I have a meeting to get to." He bid his friends goodbye, sliding the door closed.
"Daichi, hey." you shyly smiled.
"Y/n, hey! Are you on your way to the meeting?" he asked.
You nodded, "Hinata and Kageyama left earlier then me."
"Oh good." you two started to walk together, side by side. "I told them to get there earlier to set things up."
"It took some convincing but they were able to go. I had to help a litte so our teacher could let them leave." you chuckled.
"I knew there was a reason they were able to leave." he added, "Knowing those two, their grades aren't the best right now... gees I hope they are able to raise them before the tournament."
"No lie sometimes it is hard for them to study, if it's not the bickering going on, it's probably something else."
"Yeah." he chuckled lightly rubbing the back of his neck, "I'm sorry if those two cause you trouble. I hope you are able to study for your exams too."
"I don't have as much trouble when it comes to testing, only a slight bit at English but that's it." you admitted.
"If you want I can help you study sometime." he suggested, "We can go to the library."
"R-really?" you shyly spoke, "I-I... don't want to take up any of your time. I know... y-you are busy with your own entrance exams and the team too of course!"
"I don't mind, Y/n." he smiled at you, making your heart flutter. "Really, let me help you if I can. You also do a lot for the team it's the least I can do."
"Alright!" you exclaimed, "Sorry..." you felt your face turn hot from how embarrased you felt. "I-I didn't mean... to yell..." you looked away from him.
"It's okay." he assured you, "Don't worry about it."
You sucked in your lips feeling it become impossible for you to hide the huge smile.
After practice was over for the day you started to help Nishinoya and Asahi to collect the volleyballs from the floor.
"Come on Asahi!" Nishinoya whined, "I need you to come with me, I promised her friend she had a date too!"
"I'm not going Nishinoya, sorry but that's not my scene." he said, "Why don't you take Tanaka instead?"
"Sorry my dude, I'm already busy studying with Ennoshita for today." Tanaka explained, "He's helping me out with Japanese Literature."
"You both suck." Nishinoya grumbled.
"I'm sure you can find a classmate to join you." you spoke, "What about Masahiro?"
"I don't know..." he mumbled, "He did cancel something last minute today from what he told me."
"See? Ask him then. I'm sure he'll be happy to say yes."
He sighed, "Alright."
"I'm surprised you listened to her." Daichi walked up to your group, standing beside you. "You never listen to any of us."
"That's because she is understanding and doesn't yell at me."
Daichi rolled his eyes playfully, "Even when we don't you still won't listen to us, Nishinoya."
"Well because..."
Everyone looked at him, waiting for an explanation that never came. "Whatever... thanks Y/n, I'll go call him."
"It's no problem." you softly smiled, "Have fun tonight."
"Oh Nishinoya, what will we ever do with him." Tanaka commented.
Daichi leaned over to you and spoke in a low voice, "Honestly sometimes I do not know myself." making you chuckle. He smiled hearing you laugh.
"Oh by the way, Daichi-" You began but got interrupted by a loud voice.
"-Daichi!" He turned to look over his shoulder, at the front entrance to see her, standing there smiling at him.
He waved at her then turned to look at you, "Give me a sec? I'll be right back."
You nodded, smiling slightly. "Sure."
Daichi walked quickly across the gym to get to her. Meanwhile you started to take down the net while he finished. Your eyes kept glancing back at them, how they laughed together in sync. How close she was next to him, not taking her eyes off of him. The way she touched his arm despite the obvious red cheeks. It's like they were in their own little world.
It hurt like hell seeing the person you like very much, be close to someone else that isn't you. Every bone in your body screamed of jealousy, knowing it wasn't you in her spot.
A sigh escaped your lips without realizing it. Kageyama noticed and walked over to you, his cheeks formed a tint of pink. "H-hey, are you okay?"
"huh?"
He tilted his head slightly, "I heard you sigh... are you alright? Does something hurt?"
"N-no..." you mumbled, "I'm a bit tired is all I guess, I didn't realize I had sighed."
Kageyama noticed it, as much as it pained him to see you like someone else he also did not like how you suffered either.
"You..." he paused, contemplating on whether he should ask or stay quiet, being afraid to know the answer. "D-do... you like... Daichi?"
Your eyes widened, you averted eye contact and became flustered. "I-I...uh n-no..." you stuttered, "W-why... do you ask?.."
He sucked in his lips, took a deep breath trying to calm down his emotions. Did it pain him to know? Yeah but he also didn't have the right to lash out on you.
"I've seen... the way you look at him." he answered, "Especially when you talk with him. Your eyes do this one thing I've noticed and only when you talk to him."
Biting your lip you looked at him. "Was I that obvious?..."
"Sometimes yeah..." He admitted, "Especially when the group is talking and he's not around. You ask about him, it's something someone does when they're in a relationship or... when you like them."
A weak smile formed on your lips, "I know it's dumb-"
"It's not dumb to like someone." he stated, "There's nothing wrong with wanting to ask about the person you care deeply about."
You tilted your head upward,"Kageyama..."
"All I'm saying is you shouldn't-" he stopped mid sentence. His eyes shifted to the front, no longer looking at you but at what was happening behind you.
"Kageyama, what's wrong?.."
'Should I tell her?' he thought as his mind and heart screamed both very different things to him.
"What is it?" you asked again, "Why do you look like somebody died."
Not waiting on his answer you turned your head quickly, "No wait, Y/n-" he reached out to stop you from seeing but failed. His hand did not make it in time to shield you away from the heartache you would end up receiving.
Your eyes stared at the news in front of you. It was impossible to look away from it. Your brain making it a physical permanent memory into your mind, to wake you up from your dream.
'They were kissing.' you thought, 'T-they aren't together... right?...' trying to come up with excuses to not face the reality of the situation. There was no more hiding or running away from the fact that he was kissing someone that would never have been you.
He on the other hand couldn't stop glaring at the pair kissing as if Daichi had forgotten you were standing there. His hand turned into a fist, keep his feet planted tightly on the ground from doing something stupid.
At last Daichi and her broke apart, his face was red and her's mirrored his same expression. He tried catching his breath, not believing what had happened, his eyes shifted to where you stood.
A tear rolled down your eye as you tried to comprehend the situation. One tear turned into ten then into a full on waterfall within a minute, Daichi's eyes widened as he saw how inconsolable you looked in front of him.
Your friend since school started, Kageyama turned you around protecting you from his line of eyesight. His arm wrapped tightly around your shoulders as your back was turned to them. You buried your face into his chest, letting him the quiet sobs that erupted from within you.
He stood tall, not blinking, as he looked at his captain. There was a fire in his eyes that looked the same way as if his enemy stood before him during a game.
"Y/n..." Daichi mumbled under his breath, he felt guilty.
"Daichi-"
He turned around to look at her. "Can we talk later? I need to do something important." she nodded and bid him goodbye.
The gym was now empty, only you three stood alone in silence except from the low muffled sobs that were heard coming from you.
Daichi stepped forward meanwhile Kageyama stepped back and retreated with you towards the exit.
"Let me talk with her." Daichi called out.
WIth jaw clenched, Kageyama answered. "I'm not going to let you hurt her again. She's had enough damage done to her for today, let her have her space."
"Why don't you let her decide?"
Kageyama waited for you to make a move but never did. "I think that tells you everything you need to know." he said then proceeded to walk out with you leaving him alone in the silent gym.

Dance the Night Away: Peter Parker X Reader
A/N: This ain’t following any particular timeline – let’s just say... idk, after Far from Home, maybe?
WARNING: use of the ‘P’ word (Flash being Flash)
Tumblr media
Peter walked down the hallway amidst the chatter, trying to reach his locker as the crowd grew thicker and thicker, making it impossible for him to even see properly. Which was until a hand seized his wrist and pulled him through, letting go of him as he smashed into the storage compartment with force enough to make his brains rattle.
“Oops, sorry,” you said with a sheepish smile.
Peter had turned to thank whoever it was, but, catching sight of you, he groaned. Not that he didn’t like you – you and Peter had been best friends since you were eight years old. Recently, however, a banner had been put up by the senior girls announcing that prom would be taking place the following Saturday. And with only about five days left, you had taken to pestering Peter into going, hoping that if you’d fling the question unexpectedly, Peter would get scared into answering. You had, however, no luck so far.
“Y/N, I know what you’re going to say,” Peter warningly began, “And I don’t wanna hear it.”
“But I wanna say it,” you said, “And that I shall. Peter, come on! It’s a crucial life experience! I mean, you’re studying all the time these days, and I get it, you have a clear view of your future, and I’m happy for you. But pleeeaaaaaaase, just do it for me? It’s one night, Peter, come on! One night where you have to let go and just have fun! After that, we can go back to making circuit boards together like we used to, but just this once? C’mon, don’t tell me you’re turning me down.”
As you took a deep breath after this whole rant and Peter took one look at your sincere smile, he sighed.
“... Fine,” he mumbled.
Your eyes grew wide. Surely you’d misheard?
“What?” you asked, “Louder, please?”
“Fine!” Peter bellowed loudly so that a dozen heads turned in your direction and people began snickering.
Not caring in the least, you flashed a wide smile before engulfing Peter into a huge hug, speaking, “Thank you so much! It’ll be the best experience of your life, Peter!”
“Yes, that means better than your spiderman stuff,” you whispered in an undertone as Peter said a disbelieving, “Come on!”
Needless to say, you had finally convinced Peter to go to prom. Now came the hard part. Truth was, you had liked Peter since you were both, what, fourteen? Convincing Peter to go to prom was a task for the strong, but asking him to be your date? No way would he feel the same. Peter had never ever hinted, that your relationship could be more. In fact, he felt rather frantic to prove it couldn’t be more – something that convinced you that you did not belong together and that, someday, you would have to get over this silly little crush. Still, seeing Peter go to prom with any girl who made him happy was enough for you.
“Right, now that we’re going,” you said the following morning, when he’d found you standing next to his locker, waiting for him to arrive.
Peter sighed, “Mm hmm?”
“We need dates,” you ignored his disinterest.
“Do you have one?” asked Peter.
“It.... it’s complicated,” you muttered.
Peter crossed his arms, “Listening.”
You shot him a glare before sighing and telling him, “There’s... there’s this boy I like. I was really hoping he would ask me to homecoming back then, and I turned down anybody who asked me just to chase that blind belief. Guess what? He didn’t ask me. And I know he won’t now, but I don’t know... something inside me still hopes he would.”
“So, you’re scared to say yes to anyone in case he asked you but scared to say no to everyone in case he doesn’t ask you?” Peter clarified, causing you to laugh.
“Sounds about right.” you muttered, “But hey, enough about me, what about you? We need a date for you. Do you have anyone in mind?”
“Not really,” Peter shrugged.
“Okay....” you said slowly, “Well, I’ll just list off people you would be happy with as they come to my mind... maybe you can ask one of them.”
“Fire away.”
“Okay... well, there’s Emma Jones from my biology class,” you began, “And she’s really nice.”
“Not my type.”
“Oh,” you frowned, “Okay... Alyssa from P.E?”
“The one who said spiderman sucks? No thanks.”
“Zoe from English?”
“Nope.”
“Ava from chemistry lab?”
“Meh.”
“... MJ?” you asked in defeat as Peter incredulously looked at you (A/N: sorry MJ, I love you <3).
“Okay, fine,” you snapped, “I’m done helping. Let me know if you find someone?”
Peter gave another nod as the two of you made your way to class.
------
You were panicking. Two days were all that were left, and so far, you had turned down countless boys including Flash Gordon who had swore and made rude hand gestures at you as a way to handle rejection. You didn’t know what was wrong – why was this impossible hope of Peter asking you still clouding your possibilities of a relationship?
Peter knew nothing of this – yet he annoyed you. If he was too blind to notice that you were madly in love with him, why did the very sight of his face make your brain go empty?
Now with one day left and nobody to ask you, you slumped moodily throughout the day, not talking and sitting silently at lunchtime, stabbing your potatoes pretending that it was your feelings for Peter.
“Okay you’re freaking me out now,” Peter said as the two of you were walking home and you still hadn’t opened your mouth.
“No date – again. God, this is just like homecoming,” you groaned.
Peter looked surprised.
“I thought a lot of guys asked you?”
“They did!” you moaned, “It’s just – that guy, I don’t know why he has this effect on me. It’s like – we weren’t meant to be together or maybe I wasn’t meant to go out with anyone ever.”
“Hey, that’s not true,” said Peter with something new in his expression. Behind the terribly unconvincing ‘concerned best friend’ mask, you saw a flicker of something... smugness? No, you were dreaming. You hadn’t eaten all day – this was probably a side-effect.
“You know what, I’m gonna grab a sandwich at Delmar’s,” you muttered, “I haven’t eaten since morning. Do you want to come?”
“Sorry, I promised May I’d come home,” he sheepishly said, “She wanted me to go get an outfit with her.”
“Oh,” you snickered, “Good luck with that. See you tomorrow!”
“See you.”
And with a heavy heart, you walked away from your only chance of having the person you cared about most as your date to prom.
--------
“Oh god, what was I thinking?” you muttered, staring the reflection of you in a(n) F/C dress with your hair styled <inert preferred style here>.
“This is stupid!” you said to no one in particular, before taking a deep breath and walking to the apartment across from yours and knocking on the door.
The door opened to reveal Peter.
“Oh, good you’re here, this will take just a second, May wants to –” he stopped abruptly, staring at you with eyes round as saucers.
“Um,” you began, he still kept staring.
“Earth to Peter, you still in there?” you snapped your fingers in front of his face as he blinked and turned a delicate shade of red.
“You – you look nice,” he managed to choke out.
“Thanks...?” you said, walking inside and taking a seat on the couch.
“Okay, um, M-may will take us there in her c-car, she’ll be h-here any moment, let’s just w-wait.”
“Pete, you having a stroke or something?” you asked in concern.
“No, I’m fine.” (A/N: he’s not 😉)
As if she had sensed Peter’s need to be rescued, Aunt May came walking into the room. She stopped at the sight of her nephew staring slightly at you, who was examining a coffee mug on the table. Smiling to herself, she cleared her throat.
Both of you jumped in surprise.
“We’re ready to go,” May stated, as the two of you got to your feet, following her to the car.
----------
“This was a mistake, wasn’t it?” you asked, looking at the doors of your school gym which were closed ominously.
“Why?” asked Peter in surprise, “I thought you wanted to go?”
“I do,” you admitted, “But – we don’t have dates, it’ll look so... lame.”
Peter scoffed, “Y/N, do you really need the dimwits that attend this school to justify how many cool points you have?”
“Not exactly,” you said in surprise, feeling slightly better.
“Yeah, come on, let’s just do it. Together, okay?” asked Peter as you nodded.
You both took nervous, deep breaths before pushing the doors open to reveal the commotion inside.
--------
You two were walking across the gym, interestedly examining the decorations ang pulling faces at the couples which were making out, till you bumped into something hard.
“OOF!” you groaned, falling to the floor.
“You okay?” Peter asked hurriedly, pulling you to your feet. As you both turned to look who it was, you were surprised to see Flash standing there with his mouth hanging open.
“No way,” he said, gaping, “HEY EVERYONE, LOOK! IT’S DATELESS L/N AND PENIS PARKER!”
You groaned as a million heads turned your way and slowly, the laughter broke out, jeers of the obscene names Flash had called you now echoing off the walls.
“Haha, real funny, Flash,” Peter said sarcastically, but once he saw your near-tears expression, he seized your wrist and pulled you out of the gym into the open.
“Come on,” he pacifyingly said, “Don’t cry over him, Y/N! He’s not worth it.”
“This is homecoming all over again,” you groaned, struggling to contain your tears, “School dances were never meant for me. Let’s just – let’s just go home and finish making that model spaceship we were working on.”
“Sounds like a worthwhile night to me,” Peter shrugged, tossing a brave smile your way, “You don’t need prom to be happy, you know. Let’s go.”
And so the two of you walked home, talking amongst yourselves, being the best friends you’d been since eight.
Best friends.
The sound of that word made your blood boil hot. How naïve were you? This was absolutely perfect – a million guys on the planet and you chose to fall for one who would never see you the same way.
As your apartment building came closer, Peter cleared his throat and spoke, “Wait in the living room with May for ten minutes. I have a surprise for you.”
“Seriously?” you asked, taken aback.
“Yeah, why not?”
“What is it?” you asked curiously.
Peter cocked an eyebrow.
“Kinda missing the point of a surprise if I told you what it was.”
“Makes sense,” you agreed, “Okay, but make it quick. I’m dying of curiosity.”
“You’ll live for another ten minutes,” Peter assured you.
Your curiosity was now bubbling to the surface like boiling water threatening to spill. You thought of what Peter could possibly have to surprise you, and you stopped to sit on a couch in the living room next to Peter’s aunt.
After exhausting every possibility (each as unlikely as the next), Peter finally dragged you ti the door of his room.
“... I’ve seen your room before, you know,” you laughed slightly.
“That’s not the surprise,” Peter playfully rolled his eyes, “Okay, close your eyes.”
“Jesus, Peter,” you snorted as his hands placed themselves over your eyes, “You are such a drama queen.”
“Open them... now!”
And you opened your eyes to see that the usual clutter surrounding Peter’s room had been cleared away, leaving some space for god-knows-what in the middle of it.
“Wow, you finally cleaned your room!” you exclaimed, “That is a surprise.”
“That’s still not the surprise!” Peter whined, “C’mere.”
He grabbed your hand and pulled you close as your brain clouded with confusion. What the heck was going on?
Peter threw his phone aside as a light waltz began playing through the air. Peter placed one hand on your waist and the other one to grab yours as your confusion cleared away.
“You said you wanted to go to prom,” Peter stated as you two swayed on the spot, moving slightly to the music, “You didn’t say where. Now we’re away from judgy eyes, we can be weird.”
“Seriously, Peter?” you giggled at his dorkiness, “I never knew you were so cute.”
The words had slipped from your mouth before you had time to think them through. You were praying he didn’t hear you, but a hitch in his breath made your heart drop.
“You – you think I’m cute?” Peter asked, blushing furiously.
“Well,” you sighed, there was no backing out of this, “... Yeah, I do.”
You looked down, refusing to meet his eyes.
“And the guy you wanted to get asked by...?” Peter didn’t need to finish his question; he knew you understood.
“Yes,” you whispered, tears brimming at the corner of your eyes once more.
You sucked in a deep breath and looked up, “Look, Peter, I know you don’t feel the same and it’s honestly okay –”
“Shut up,” Peter mumbled, his lips brushing over yours. Your lips brushed together a few times as the both of you melted into the addicting sensation, not aware of the surroundings, not caring in the least. To Peter, all that mattered in that moment, was you.
You two pulled apart after a while, both blushing like crazy with no idea what to do next. It was you who spoke first, shyly.
“I – I think it’s a good thing we’re alone right now. That would be an embarrassing yearbook photo.”

hi there! I’m a big fan of your pokemon swsh work! can I request a hop x reader drabble where the reader is really quiet and shy and doesn’t really care about the gym challenge but hop is her best friend so she does it anyways, and Bede is rude to her and makes her cry so Hop comes in blazing to defend her honor! ...or something like that😅 thanks if you do this! no problem if you don’t!
Heya! Thank you so much for your lovely compliment and also for your request. I’m not sure if this fits your request but I hope you like it nevertheless. Have a great day/night and take care! <3
Don’t you cry – Hop x reader (platonic)
“Wow,” you whispered, craning your neck to get a better look at the giant building in front of you. It was impressive, to say the least, and you stopped in your track to examine the decorations that adorned the brick walls. The various emblems showed different stages of Galarian history, particularly events that took place in Hammerlocke or affected the city in any way, and for a while, you just stood there and stared in awe.
Of course, you had seen pictures of the Stadium and had watched the opening ceremony of previous Gym Challenges on TV but seeing the building in person hit different. It almost felt like you were living some kind of surreal dream.
Next to you, your best friend Hop was already starting to fidget around, nervously tugging at his jacket’s left sleeve and adjusting his backpack before he reached out to tap you on the shoulder. “Hey, (Y/N),” he said, not able to hide his impatience for any second longer. “I think we should head in now. We still need to fill in the application form and I really don’t want to be late! What if they close the registration before we can enter into the list?”
You couldn’t help but laugh. Hop had always been like that, impatient and always on the run, even back then, when the two of you had barely been able to walk. You loved him for that, although it could be a bit exhausting from time to time.
“It’s not even noontime,” you answered. “And Sonia said, registration won’t close until the early evening, so we still have plenty of time to complete our registration.”
Hop grimaced at you. “But we really should get over and done with it as quickly as possible! As participants in the Gym Challenge, we can’t afford slacking. We could go back to the wild area afterwards and train! Or we could go searching for some new pokemon for your team.”
Once again, you giggled. “Sometimes I really wonder where you get all that enthusiasm from.”
“It’s the Gym Challenge!” he exclaimed before shaking his head in disbelief at your visible lack of excitement. “(Y/N), you know how long I’ve been pestering my brother to give me that letter of endorsement. And now that I finally got it, I can’t wait to get started.”
A soft smile flashed over your face. Yes, Hop had been waiting for this moment for quite a while, constantly whining that his brother wasn’t willing to support him on his way to become the next champ, so it really wasn’t surprising that your best friend was excited, even more than usually. And you were happy for him, happy that he could finally chase his dream – but you couldn’t say the same thing about yourself.
You had never cared about the Gym Challenge and the only reason why you were here right now was that Leon had asked you to keep an eye on his brother. “He needs someone who’s there for him when things don’t go as planned,” he had said when he had handed you your letter of endorsement. “I know you never planned to participate but it would really mean a lot to my brother if you would accompany him on this journey.”
It wasn’t like you minded supporting your best friend during the challenge but you still weren’t sure whether it had been a good idea to accept Leon’s suggestion. The challengers, particularly the promising ones, would be known all over Galar, and the limelight was something that had always scared the living daylights out of you. You were too quiet, too shy to take the center of attention but now that you were here in Hammerlocke, one day before the opening ceremony, it was probably way too late to search for a way out.
When Hop grabbed your hand to drag you into the lobby of the Stadium, you snapped out of your thoughts. “Hey,” you complained. “Calm down, Hop, we’re not missing anything.”
“Sorry,” he said but he didn’t sound like he really meant it. He gave you cheeky smile. “We’d still be standing there tomorrow if I hadn’t dragged you along. Let’s finish our registrations!”
The registration process itself was over quickly. After you had showed the man behind the counter your letters of endorsement, he handed you an application form to which you added your names, hometown and desired bib number that would be imprinted on your challenger uniforms.
“And you were afraid that we would be too late,” you joked afterwards. Hop scratched the back of his head. “Oh, well, you know me. I’m impatient.”
“Yeah, yeah,” you replied with a smile, dismissing his half-hearted apology with a wave of your hand. Hop chuckled. “Come on, let’s go back to the wild area. I want to see which pokemon we can find there!”
“Sure, but can we stop at the – oof!” You were cut short when someone bumped into you, effectively knocking you down. When you looked up you stared directly into purple colored eyes, glaring at you as if you were the most annoying thing on earth right now.
The eyes belonged to a boy, around the same age as you and Hop. Probably another challenger but the similarities definitely ended there. While Hop was already rushing to your side to make sure you were okay, the boy rolled his eyes and snarled, “Look out, you clumsy idiot.”
“I – sorry,” you replied automatically, a bit intimidated by the way he was talking to you. “I didn’t – I wasn’t paying attention. Sorry.”
Next to you, Hop huffed. “You don’t need to apologize, (Y/N). He’s the one who knocked you down. He should apologize!”
The boy crossed his arms in front of his chest. “I’m not apologizing to someone who’s too stupid to watch where they’re going.” His gaze went from Hop back to you. “You’re a challenger, aren’t you? I have no idea how you want to pass the Gym Challenge if you can’t even walk straight ahead without falling.”
“Oh, shut up, will you?” Hop’s voice had gotten louder, and he flashed his eyes at the boy. “(Y/N) did nothing wrong; you’re the one who walks around without paying attention to your surroundings and you have absolutely no reason to talk about my friend like that!”
“You’re a waste of space – both of you. And I really have better things to do than wasting my time with you,” the boy replied, rolling his eyes once again. Then, after shooting another annoyed glance at you and Hop, he turned around and made his way to the registration counter.
It was only then when you realized that your hands were shaking. You hated arguments, especially since you never could come up with the right things to say, and it upset you that your Gym Challenge had to start like that.
Hop wrapped his arm around your shoulders and pulled you into a tight hug. “Don’t listen to him. You’re not a waste of space.”
You sniffled as you tried to blink away the tears that were welling up in your eyes. “Thank you,” you mumbled, your voice muffled by the fabric of his jacket. “Thank you for defending me.”
“Anytime,” Hop replied.
For a few seconds, the two of you stayed like that. When you pulled away from his hug, he gave you an encouraging smile. “Let’s go to the wild area,” he suggested once again, and his smile turned into a grin. “We need to find the best pokemon for your team, so you can beat that arrogant idiot in the final.”

Oblivious
Valkyrae (Rae) x Reader (Gender Neutral) ft. Corpse Husband
Warnings: None
Genre: FLUFF, Humor, RPF (Real Person Fic)
Summary: In the most desperate of times, we may or may not be used to hearing the phrase ‘Beggers can’t be choosers’ which is exactly why Y/N’s found themself asking the most hopeless of cases when it comes to love and romance - Corpse, for help.
Requested by Xara. Hi darling! Thank you so much for this wonderful request you’ve sent me - I love writing for Rae (excuse my bi excitement, I’m just a HUGE simp) and I can’t thank you enough for giving me the opportunity to do so. Sorry it’s been two months since you requested this but here it finally is and I hope it makes up for the wait. Love, Vy ❤
“Corpse, I’m in desperate need for help.“ I don’t even bother with a friendly or even polite greeting. Being best friends for as long as we have, Corpse and I excluded the politeness that comes with phone calls a long time ago, especially when calling with an emergency. Though, let’s be honest, if I’m calling him on the phone and not on video chat like I usually do, it is an emergency.
“Given that you’re asking me, I can imagine how desperate you are.“ He has the audacity to laugh in response, causing me to roll my eyes.
Now, don’t get the wrong idea - I love Corpse with all my heart. Him and I have been through A LOT together considering we know each other since we were teenagers. However, there are some instances in life when he simply doesn’t get me. Not that he doesn’t try to, he does and does so very hard, but he rarely succeeds. Trying is what matters, of course. Given that he is my only close friend, I can only ever turn to him with my problems though I try my best not to bother him too much, but when things get REALLY tough, I can’t help but go and vent to him. Luckily, he’s always been very understanding, but it may be because he feels like he owes me for all the times he has turned to me with his problems. I’ve tried to explain that he shouldn’t feel such a way, but that’s rather hypocritical of me cause I feel the same way.
Alright, enough digressing, back on track!
“Desperate doesn’t even begin to summarize how I feel.“ I sigh, plopping down on the couch in my living room, kicking my feet up on the coffee table as I cover my eyes with my hand. “Brutally miserable is, I think, the correct term to use here.“
I hear Corpse let out a quiet ‘oof’, one I think he hoped I wouldn’t hear. “And what led you to finally give in and ask for help, not that I can offer you much?”
I can’t help but snort at that, a snort that serves as a replacement to slapping myself across the face. “Rae texted me yesterday asking if I’d like to play Minecraft with her and I took THREE HOURS to respond! Not on purpose, I just couldn’t think of something good to say!” I know I sound like a whiney kid, but I think I’ve passed that threshold LONG ago. Of course, this whiney kid version of me only surfaces around Corpse and Corpse only. No one else is allowed to see me like this or that would legit be the end of any sort of pride I may have left in me.
“You mean you couldn’t choose between ‘Sure, I’d like that!’ and ‘Of course, I’d love to!’? Please say yes.“ Corpse already sounds disappointed and he hasn’t even heard the worst of it yet.
“No and sit tight, it gets worse. I...“
He cuts me off, “Wait, no, don’t say it. Let me guess - you turned her down? Keep in mind if you say yes I’m hanging up on you.”
I remain silent, pinching the bridge of me nose and cringing as hard as my facial muscles are willing to allow. I can’t say yes, not cause he’ll hang up but because admitting it makes it more real, and the more real it is the more depressed it’ll make me and I will go back to being a self-deprecating mess that refuses to be productive or properly functioning - aka ‘Whiney Kid Maximum’.
“I’m hanging up.“ Corpse says after waiting five seconds for my response that only comes in the form of dead silence which is more than enough of an answer in and of itself.
“No, please don’t!“ I squeak out despite my agony, “I’ll never break the cycle if you don’t help me, Corpse! I’m a hopeless case!“
“You’re a hopeless case with or without me, Y/N.“ He states, angering me ever so slightly. “Not only cause you really are, but because I have nothing useful to offer you. Not even a single advice. Even if I did, giving it to you would by hypocritical when considered how bad I am on this field myself. Hell, the very person you’re head over heels for is my personal matchmaker. If anything, you should be asking her how to swoon her...“ He pauses.
So does my brain.
For a second we’re both quiet, the silence on the line suggesting big plans are being developed - well, not on my end but still.
“Now there’s an idea...“ He mutters more to himself than to me.
“No!“ I shriek fearfully, “Please, if you love me even the tiniest bit, Corpse, don’t put me in a situation where I have to be alone with Rae! Not IRL not in a Discord call - not in ANYTHING. I close up and end up seeming unfriendly and rude because of my inability to talk to her like a normal human being! I don’t know what’s wrong with me, I just can’t do it! So please don’t make me.“
I maybe can’t read minds, but hell if I can’t at least have a rough guess of what’s on my best friend’s mind - I know he’s already scheming and coming up with odd solutions to my problem - some of which will cause me more problems but let’s not even mention those. That being said, I need to prevent him from actually carrying out any of his absurd schemes, otherwise it’s game over for me.
“Hmm, ok fine, but only cause I wanna spare you your own awkwardness. Consider it charity.“ He sighs, the disappointment even more evident now.
I sigh too, but I do so in defeated relief. It’s bittersweet, to be honest. “Thank you.”
“Don’t.“ He says sharply, “Don’t thank me. It’ll make me feel like I’m encouraging your behavior.“
Well, screw my feelings, I guess. I’m left on this battlefield alone, aren’t I?
Corpse hanging up the call confirms that I am, indeed, alone.
                                                             *  *  *
“Hello?“
“Are you still in bed, for the love of God? It’s noon!“ Not only did he have the audacity to wake me up with his phone call, but now he has the audacity to judge me on my sleeping habits as well. Some darn nerve he has.
“What do you want, Corpse?“ I grumble out, groggy and now grumpy too. The last thing I need is the only person I can turn to turning on me. Especially not now. I don’t need his or anybody else’s judgement of me or my life, it’ll hurt too much.
“I want to know how long you haven’t showered, Y/N.“ He barks back, causing me to roll my eyes. “And when’s the last time you actually ate something healthy and nutritious and not just greasy takeout?”
“I showered last night!“ I straighten up and frown, feeling offended despite his questions being justifiable. I think that’s exactly why I’m pissed off, to be honest - he knows me and my habits too well. “And you’re just being hypocritical on the eating part!“
“Whatever.“ He mutters, allowing me to feel at least a tiny sense of victory for having proven him wrong, “Get your ass up and come play Minecraft with me, you need to be cheered up asap.“ He continues, much to my dismay. “And don’t even think about saying ‘no’. If you do, just remember, I have your address and a strong will to kick your ass into shape.“
“Into shape? We’re going to the gym or something?“ I’m honestly confused and intrigued now. Maybe the gym isn’t such a bad idea, I’m sure I could become really good friends with the punching bag.
Corpse sighs exasperatedly in a way I can basically hear him roll his eyes as well, “Not that kind of shape, Y/N. Just get on Discord, seriously, I’m worried about you.“
That sentence strikes a nerve. Something about that genuine concern in his voice reminds me that I still need to move on from focusing so strongly on just my failures, no matter how big or small, and keep pushing forward, if not for myself then for the people who care about me. For Corpse especially, seeing as how he’s sort of been my babysitter ever since my feelings towards Rae started to consume me whole and suffocate me. I don’t know how or when it happened, in fact I can best describe it as the Titanic: I was doing ok and then instead of hitting an iceberg the iceberg of feelings hit me and I started sinking. Corpse was there to offer me a hand to help me keep at least my head above the surface. He can’t pull me out of the water but he’s not willing to let go either. I’m afraid holding on like that will tire him out to the point of letting go of me completely, but I’m afraid of sinking too. You see my dilemma here, no?
“Ok, give me twenty minutes.“
I would have probably continued sleeping or just chilled on social media, refusing to get out of bed for at least another hour, but the debt I feel towards Corpse is stronger than the desire to be a slob so I motivate myself with every power my fragile mind can fish out of the void and push the covers off me, shivering at the drastic change in temperature around my body now that I’m exposed to the rather cool air in my room, my pajamas hopeless at providing me with any warmth.
Twenty minutes later sharp, I’m seated at my desk, in front of my computer with my headphones on, taking one last encouraging breath before entering the call where Corpse is waiting for me.
“Yo.“ I greet him half-heartedly, drawing invisible abstract patterns on my desk with my finger as if I’m avoiding eye contact with him IRL.
“Glad to see you haven’t lost your sense of punctuality at least.“ He chuckles, sounding a lot more pleasant and a lot more like my friend Corpse and less like sergeant Corpse Husband who was speaking with me on the phone earlier.
“Very funny.“ I murmur in my now common brooding manner, “Anyway, enough about me, how are you doing? Anything interesting happen since we last spoke?“
“You mean in the past ten hours? No, nothing interesting apart from that I managed to catch a few z’s.“ He replies as I join the Minecraft server, managing to get a smile out of me.
“Hey, that’s nice to hear! Good for you, Corpsie.“ I say, honestly proud and happy for him.
“Yeah, and just so you’re not calling me hypocritical on the topic of eating, I’m currently cooking myself lunch.“ He points out, now just straight up peacocking, “On that note, I got a pot on the stove so you’ll have to excuse me for a sec.“
“Please go. Don’t set your apartment on fire the first time you cook” I snicker, leaning back in my chair and fetch my phone to kill the time while he’s gone to tend to whatever attempt at a meal he has prepping in his kitchen. I feel bad for his stomach, and his kitchen, already.
“Corpse? Hi!“
Oh no. No, no, no, no, no - tell me that was an auditory hallucination and I didn’t actually hear that just now! TELL ME!
“Rae?“ I blurt out, almost falling backwards out of my chair, eyes wide, jaw hanging slightly.
Just then I get a text from Corpse:
Consider me dead and carry the convo. I know you’ve got this, Y/N
Oh that prick is gonna get it!
“Y/N? Hi! Sorry, Corpse didn’t mention you’d be playing with us, but it’s so nice to be hearing from you! It feels like it’s been forever.“ Rae replies, cheery and enthusiastic as ever, just like the absolute sweetheart she is.
With Corpse absent from his position, without his metaphorical hand holding mine, I’m metaphorically sinking and drowning. Maybe the drowning part isn’t so metaphorical after all, considering I actually am drowning in all the thoughts produced by my mind at the moment. A mind that’s going completely haywire, might I add.
“Hehe, well, funny thing, he didn’t tell me you’d be playing with us either.“ I chuckle anxiously, already breaking out in a nervous sweat. I solemnly promise to kill Corpse first chance I get, that way he’ll at least be dead for real.
“He set us up, huh? What’s his game, where even is he?“ Rae asks, properly confused as she should be.
All on-point questions, hun. And I can’t answer any of them logically.
“Um, you know, he’s off doing...something.“ And there go my conversational skills out the window, I hope they send me a postcard one day.
“Whatever, enough about Mr. Ominous. Tell me, what’s been keeping you busy?“ Oh crap, this is the question I’ve been fearing. Mostly cause I’m not prepared for it. “Actually no, let me rephrase: Why have you been avoiding me recently?“
‘Oh crap’ squared. Tripled.
“Whaaat? Avoiding you? Where’d you get that idea?“ I’m aware of my high pitched voice, but it’s not like I can do much to tone it down. Every part of me is in critical panic mode and rationality has accompanied my aforementioned conversational skills out the window.
“I don’t know, Y/N. Ignoring my texts, leaving me on ‘Seen’ and then declining my offer just to accept the same one coming from Corpse - can’t really blame me for finding it shady.“ She replies, her words making me wince and hide my face in the palms of my hands as though it’ll shield me from Rae’s brutal honesty and forthrightness.
“I’ve been...bad at replying to everyone lately, nothing personal, I swear.“ Yeah, that sounded convincing, good gosh-darn job, Y/N!
“Why’s that?“ Something about her tone suggest she knows I’m lying and is just humoring me and my agony. I don’t know if to thank her for it or wish she’d just rip off the band-aid and confront me head-on. In that case I’d have only one of two options: freeze up or spill my guts. Honestly, I don’t know which is worse. “I thought you’d reach out to me, given you’ve found yourself in a pickle.”
I frown, confused and wary like I’m walking on thin ice over a pool of sharks, “Pickle? What pickle?“
“Corpse mentioned you needed dating advice.“ She replies simply as though it should’ve been obvious and as if it’s the most casual, regular and normal thing. Little does she know...
“Um, yeah, I guess you can call it that.“ I murmur sheepishly, my cheeks reddening.
“Who’s the lucky girl?“ She asks, the excitement now replacing the previous suspicion she was fronting, making me nervous as hell.
My heart skips a beat, “How’d you know I’m crushing on a girl?“
“Uh...“ She stumbles over her words, pausing to collect her thoughts and formulate a response, “Corpse told me!“ When the reply finally arrives it’s as high pitched as mine was earlier, suggesting something ain’t right.
I stay quiet, my mind and heart racing which is quicker. My leg is bouncing, my fingers are tapping the keyboard rhythmically as I rack my brain, pushing it to put the pieces of this enigmatic puzzle together, connect the dots.
When it finally does, I’m left with a horrific end-result, a realization that makes me go pale as a ghost, “He told you who said girl is too, didn’t he?” I say, my voice barely above a whisper. I keep the tone low so she doesn’t notice how shaky it is.
It takes her a few seconds to reply, but when she does I kinda wish she hadn’t, “Maybe...”
My first instinct is to excuse myself from the call, pack all my kitchen knives and drive to Corpse’s house but with my limbs having lost any and all feeling in them that is practically impossible. So, I settle for my second instinct which is hiding my face in the palms of my hands as though they can shield me from the immense embarrassment Corpse has set me up for.
“Listen...“ I start, not sure where I wanna go with this, “You don’t have to say anything, I get the hint. No need to bother with a gentle reje-“
“I like you too, Y/N!“ Rae cuts off my rambling with a melodic laugh, “I’m sorry, but you can be very oblivious sometimes, and I just wanted to give you a taste of your own medicine for a bit. Sorry if I freaked you out.“ Judging by her tone, she’s not sorry at all. In fact, she’s one step away from bursting out into laughter.
“Trust me, ‘freaked out’ doesn’t even begin to describe it.“ I sigh, exasperatedly, sinking into my chair alike a deflated balloon. “You and Corpse are gonna pay for that heart attack you led me to the brink of!”
This time, she doesn’t hold back, letting out the laughter she’s been holding back this whole time, “I don’t know how Corpse will do that, but could I pay my dues with a brunch on Friday?”
My eyebrows shoot up, “Miss Valkyrae, is this you asking me out on a date?“ I ask teasingly - aka with more confidence than I feel.
Please say ‘yes’. Please say ‘yes’. Please say ‘yes’.
“I don’t know, what do you think, Y/N?“ She asks, tone just as teasing as mine.
“Hey, I’m not as oblivious as you claim I am!“ I argue light-heartedly, “Does 2PM work for you?“
“Any time works for me.“ Rae replies, a smile blatantly evident in her voice. A smile that unleashes a flock of butterflies in my stomach.
And just like that, I have a date with the girl I’ve had a crush on for the longest time. It happened so fast it’s practically a blurred part in my mind, but one thing I’m sure will be crystal-clearly imbedded in my mind forever is that brunch on Friday. Just then, I get yet another text from Mr. Schemer himself.
That wasn’t so hard now, was it?
Some nerve he has, I swear to God.

Izuku Midoriya
Now Izuku loves pretty much all animals, but I can totally see him getting a dog. Dogs are loyal and full of energy just like a certain green-haired hero. The perfect duo.
He would probably rescue one from the pound, the one with the biggest, saddest, cutest eyes because how could he not? But someone has to go with him because he'd try to rescue them all if there was no one there to stop him. Once a hero, always a hero I suppose.
I'm thinking for names, he would definitely pick a name that reflects his favorite heroes. Don't be surprised if he names his dog something super cheesy like Mighty or Rocky…
Wait, okay, I've decided, he names his dog Mighty and that is the hill I will die on.
The life of a hero is quite busy so when he goes off on long missions, he drops the dog off at his mom's house. Inko has fallen in love with this sweet pup, so much so that she sometimes begs him to stop by with the dog for a visit. It's the closest thing she's got to grandbabies at the moment, she'll take what she can get :)
Now, this cute pup draws in the attention of just about everyone so he's gotten an influx of attention and a few numbers slipped in his hand during their walks, much to his flustered surprise.
Best wingman ever.
This dog goes on regular runs with Izuku and sometimes even helps him with training. I'm thinking a Collie or an Aussie would just be the perfect fit for him to keep up with his personality and lifestyle. He needs an active dog!
I can see it now, he goes on his daily morning runs with this cute Lil furry training buddy and they race the whole way! A few regulars on the trail know about this and it's become sort of a tradition to cheer the two on as they pass.
 ...
The morning air was crisp with the slight scent of the coming autumn, the perfect morning for a run. Izuku, dressed in his usual training wear, had a steady rhythm going for the last forty minutes, letting out even, controlled breaths. This was the easy part of the run, a warm-up if anything, and he hadn't even broken a sweat yet. The canine jogging by his side was enjoying the dewy morning air as well, tongue happily flopping out the side of her mouth. The shared morning ritual between man and man's best friend: Mighty.
Her tail picked up speed, wagging uncontrollably as they neared the bend where the giant jagged rock towered over the path. It was the place marker to start the race. A three-mile run to the top of the hill located at the center of the park. It was also Mighty's favorite part of the morning.
"Ready girl?" Izuku grinned down at the ecstatic dog who barked in reply.
The instant the two of them passed the big rock, they both broke out in full speed, leaving behind a cloud of dust. Happy barks filled the air as she gained the upper hand. Izuku laughed as the dog turned to look back at him lagging behind her. He always did these races without his quirk to assist him. It was only fair and it helped him work on his natural stamina in case he was ever in a situation where he couldn't use his quirk. Always good to be prepared.
He watched as she bounded up the first steep hill on the trail. There were a few small hills on this route, but this one was the hardest to climb and Mighty had the advantage with her four legs so she always managed to pull ahead first. She stopped at the top and barked him on before quickly disappearing over the crest.
When he reached the top, he stopped for just a second to take in his surroundings. This part of the park was a heavily wooded area with numerous trails that many people used to hike or run. It also served as a great view of the city skyline and he couldn't help but stop and admire the rising sun from between the foggy buildings every time. Then Mighty barked to pull him out of his thoughts.
"It's not over yet!" He called after her and raced down the hill, putting on an extra burst of speed to easily close the distance.
Tail wagging, she nipped playfully at his feet as they sprinted along the path, side by side. There weren't many people out this early so he usually had the trail to himself. The only sounds were the wind in the trees, the leaves crunching under feet and paws, Mighty barking beside him, and his own unrestrained glee as they ran together.
These were the mornings he loved. Just the two of them, away from the stresses that came with pro-hero work. He wouldn't trade being a hero for anything, but sometimes it got to be too much so coming here to clear his mind with a little run was always a cathartic release, only made better by the furry companion by his side.
The short bridge that arched over the creek signaled the last mile. Getting more serious, Izuku pulled ahead of Mighty, not able to hold back the giant grin as he streaked across the bridge, startling a few birds off the railings which Mighty barked at as she came up behind him.
Up ahead was a large open meadow with a small duck pond near the center. A few benches were scattered about the path and he saw the same elderly couple sitting in their usual spot with a bag of rice and seed to feed the plethora of ducks waddling around their feet.
"You got him this time Mighty!" The old man looked up as the two of them zipped down the path towards the couple.
"Show 'em what girls can do!" The woman cracked a smile, waving her hands.
"Morning Mr. and Mrs. Fujino!" Izuku waved as he passed. "Don't count me out yet!"
Mighty barked her greeting and took a detour, herding some ducks closer to the couple then with a quick lick to Mr. Fujino's hand, she sprinted back to catch up to Izuku.
The Fujino's marked the last leg of the race. The only thing left was to climb the top of the largest hill in the park to the old oak tree at the top. That was the finishing line. It was always a gamble as to who finished first every day, but Mighty sure had a competitive spirit.
Izuku pumped his legs as he steadily made his way up to the dirt trail, Mighty just behind him before she suddenly veered left and disappeared into the shrubbery. He was so focused on the tree that slowly came into view just around the curve as he neared the top that he didn't notice.
Just as the path leveled out, almost to the finish line, he glanced back to see no sign of his dog. The tree was a few feet away when a furry mass ambushed him from the side, knocking him clean off his feet. The pro hero landed in the grass with a heavy Oof. Sitting on his chest was Mighty, looking quite proud of herself.
"Cheater!" He laughed, trying his best to hold back the slobbery licks she was determined to give him. "Okay, okay, I'll call it a tie!"

 Katsuki Bakugo
Now Katsuki on the other hand would totally be a cat person. Not that he has anything against dogs, but cats are more his style. They don't need constant attention and are pretty much self-sufficient. Just the way he likes it.
That being said, Katuski would go all out on toys and the latest gizmos to take care of his cat. Has a self-cleaning litter box, a waterfall bowl, an automatic feeder, etc. You get the picture.
Oh, and toys galore. If he has space, this cat is getting a personal jungle gym that lets him walk up to the ceiling. S.P.O.I.L.E.D.
Doesn't like to tell people just how much he actually loves this cat because he's never been one to express emotions, but this cat just gets him to his core. They share the same wavelength and he appreciates that. The cat is the only one he trusts to open up to, so sometimes you might catch him ranting to the poor thing who just stares back with big wide eyes and occasional meows. Yup, totally gets him.
I see him with a super chill cat, like maybe a Ragdoll or a Russian Blue. Something that tolerates his constant screaming and explosions.
This guy is just as bad at names. It'll definitely be something long and dramatic like Lord Cat Explosion Demon God of Furballs. Yep. He doesn't take criticism so most people call him Lord Furballs, much to his disdain.
Katsuki won't ask for attention from the cat, but the little furry feline is a total cuddler and will often find itself curled up in his lap or even on his neck if Katsuki's sitting on the couch. You better believe this guy won't be moving until that cat decides it's time to move. He's been late to meetings with friends because of this cuddly cat.
He's a hero so this cat is definitely being treated right. Katuski is no slacker when it comes to caring for his lil buddy. The vet is on speed dial should anything ever happen.
Did someone say a custom-made collar that matches his hero costume to a tee?
He's never loved anything more.
 ...
"Uh, hey Bakubro, why is your cat glaring at me?" Ejiro asked, staring down at the feline.
"What?" Katsuki didn't even bother to look up from his laptop.
"Your cat. It's giving me the evil eye. I thought it was supposed to be friendly." The red-haired hero frowned, not able to break eye contact with the cat. "I don’t think it likes me."
The small furry creature had lazily curled up in the sunspot next to Katsuki's feet, purring away without a care in the world. It seemed harmless enough, except for the heavy glare it was shooting Ejiro's way.
"Heh," Katsuki finally glanced down and crossed his arms. "He's not glaring. That's just his face."
"Ah," Ejiro nodded, "like father like son."
"What the hell's that supposed to mean!?"

Brothers reactions to a fem disaster bi MC who swoons over like every fem demon they see in the devildom?
Just got finished screaming over how much I LOOOOOVE THIS PROMPT. BI DISASTER YEEEEAAAAHHHH
Thank you for being the first to request something from me! 😭😭😭 I apologize in advance that these hcs aren't SUPER FOCUSED on the MC being a female themselves, but I tried my best with sneaking it in there when I could!
I've decided that along with MC, the brothers are also bisexual for the prompts too! You can be a mess together! <3 Sorry it took so long!
~
Lucifer
Oh. You seemed so interested in that girl who passed you by. You were smitten, he might say. Never mind it, he didn’t want to assume anything of it. Maybe you were just really fond of that girl's appearance.
The next girl he spotted you talking with, he was a bit concerned. You shouldn’t be off making friends with just ANY demons. They could be plotting to take your soul if you aren’t careful. Your palette seemed to be meshed, you were now talking to boyish women and feminine men. It was starting to come together for him now that you are, in fact, bisexual. A truly chaotic one, at that.
Over the next few weeks, he sees you flourish more and more with your obsession over women and men together. It’s not like you’ve forgotten about him, far from it. In fact, sometimes he listens to you rant about how beautiful this girl is at RAD, talking about her eyes or her lips. Other times he listens to you cry over how absolutely GORGEOUS this man is. He will never admit that he finds your taste in men and women to be quite similar to his. Almost exactly the same.
He listens to you sometimes talk to his brothers about how unrealistically, unreasonably cute, that girls are. You don't have nearly as much energy talking about men than you do women, but it's still there. He doesn’t really indulge you as much as he should, but he gives you enough input to invite you to keep ranting about BEAUTIFUL women and men.
Mammon
Same, dude. Same.
Mammon is a powerful bisexual, and you are the one who made him realize this(?!). He pretends he's not listening to you half the time, but he's hanging on your every word. When you two hang out, sometimes you push your D.D.D to his face to show you another model you've found on Devilgram. "His abs are SMOKIN' hot, Mammon, look!!" He has to agree. He's got a nice body. "Look at her soft face! She's SO unbelievably cute! And those curves, oof!”
He's watching you swoon and he can't believe it. You're both chaotic disasters, swooning over man and woman alike. You put much more life into your talks about women than you do men, and it worries him sometimes that he might not actually give him the time of day whenever he works up the courage. When you talk about those cute women, he does mostly still think about you. You have such beautiful eyes, and soft hair, when he's allowed to touch it. He wonders why you haven't seen it yourself.
At some point he let's it slip that he, himself, may or may not be bisexual, when you catch him scrolling through Devilgram of some of the models you've shown him in the past. The two of you spend hours on end, swooning over every male and female in sight.
Leviathan
You two are feral bisexuals. Especially fond of girls. Leviathan and you have both played those H-games. You know the ones. He catches you from time to time, listening to ASMR of girls patting your head or talking you through a rough patch in your life. He definitely knows when you're listening to lewd audio clips of women too.
He thinks for a while that you're a lesbian, and he's completely fine with that. It isn't until your attention abruptly SHIFTS when you find a SMOKIN' HOT anime boy that he realizes you are a disaster of a bisexual. Sometimes it's like a day and night shift with you. When you see girls at anime conventions you swoon uncontrollably. Gripping his arm and giving those compressed SCREECHES from the throat with shut lips. He can't help but think you're hyperbolic sometimes.
Deep down inside, he feels the exact same way. It's just too embarrassing to act like that though. But even though he feels that way, he watches you shuffling over to the cosplayers and otaku girls and asking for pictures. If you're lucky, you might even score a number from one of them! How dare you have better social skills than him? It's SOOO not fair??
He decides one of these days he'll take a page out of your book. He'll happily geek out about girls to you (especially if there's a Ruri-Chan cosplayer!?) and occasionally about the guys too. You both lean towards females anyway, and he's glad he's found someone just like him.
Satan
Oh. Girls? Guys? He's here, and he's listening.
He doesn't have any picture books, but the way the books describe some of the women? *chef's kiss* He loves it! He's watched you attempt to capture their beauty on paper (or tablet and laptop!) and smiles at your attempts. He calls them attempts because that's what you call them. "Nothing I do can truly capture the beauty that is any female that exists here." And he AGREES.
He finds your ridiculous chanting of GIRLS GIRLS GIRLS to be a riot. He joins in if it means pissing Lucifer off with the noise pollution. When you shift to guys, he's still as vocal as before. You probably aren't that great at drawing guys yet, but that's cool. He appreciates your enthusiasm. You catch him staring at you from time to time, and you wonder if he ever thinks you're as cute of a girl as the other ones you two fawn over.
Like a distorted clock, you talk about girls for at least two hours of his time, and then another hour about boys. He can't believe how much energy you put into loving women. He wonders if you're like Asmo, and just appreciate women a little bit too much. After all, the previous mention of chanting GIRLS GIRLS GIRLS is still fresh on his mind. You really are a messy bisexual, but you're his favorite messy bisexual, at least.
Asmodeus
OH HECK YEAH. YOU BOTH ARE A WRECK!
GIRLS. BOYS. GIRLS. BOYS. It's a never ending cycle with you two. It's like you're rabid animals, constantly going out to The Fall for the scoop on the next hottest guy to walk in. When you see a girl though, it's like you're straight out of a cartoon. You don't howl or whistle or anything of the sort that may be unsightly or rude but you ARE WATCHING. RESPECTFULLY.
You and Asmo are unashamed when it comes to flirting with men and women alike. You share tips that have worked in the past for each other, and having the Avatar of Lust give you pointers is a nice bonus overall. Asmo thinks for a while that you are a normal bisexual, but he's proven wrong when you find a group of beautiful women, who you hyper focus on for the next few weeks. He's honestly impressed.
It's like your attraction to men has almost disappeared, and he worries that perhaps you don't love him more than any woman you run across in the Devildom anymore. Your attention to men is still there with passing comments of "yeah he's really cute" but you're RIGHT BACK to the topic of GIRLS. he can't blame you. Women are QUEENS, just like you're an absolute QUEEN to him. He's more than happy to indulge some lewd talk about women, and you both spend hours doing exactly that most nights.
Beelzebub
Oh, that's cool. Someone else in this house likes both men and women. He's glad you're comfortable sharing so much with him. Usually when you do go for jogs in the morning, he watches you at his side while he listens to you. There's apparently this blonde woman with dark skin and she looks absolutely DIVINE. His brain focuses on imagining a pretzel with salt sprinkled over it, and he drools. He likes that thought, very much.
It's when you see said jogger does he truly realize your fixation on women is something to be feared.  You're practically floating when she jogs by, almost wanting to go after her. Beel stops you, and asks if you're okay, worried that you might trip over your own feet if you swoon any harder. He thinks its cute. You start to dress like this jogging woman, wearing her color scheme in hopes that she'll notice you. Maybe he'll try to help and play wingman for you.
He doesn't open up about it at first, but eventually he does finally speak up when you bring up a man you see at the gym with him from time to time. He blushes a bit because he knows immediately who you're talking about. You like that guy, and Beel really likes him too. When you two see him at the gym, you both swoon a bit too much. While spotting Beel one time, he passed by and Beel nearly dropped his weights on his chest. This caused a bit of attention your way and flustered, you helped Beel set the weights back up and make sure he was okay. That wasn't the first or last time an accident happened at the gym either.
At the Fangol games, it's even worse, somehow. You sit as close as possible to the field, and halftime is your FAVORITE time. All those cute cheerleaders? Cheering for their teams? You forget in all the glory that is the ABSOLUTE BEAUTY OF WOMEN that you're supposed to be rooting for Beel. You spend the rest of the game reimagining the routines that were performed, and Beel is right there admiring them too. Quietly, at least. You're a bit too enthusiastic about your love for women, and Beel thinks you're cheering louder for them than you are for him when he's playing. He doesn't mind it too much though. He'd probably be the same way, provided he let loose a little more.
Belphegor
He doesn't bother with you. It's like you talk a mile a minute, only interested in girls for the most part. Occasionally you'll talk about a hot guy, and well, he's listening but... It's sort of hard for him to fall asleep with all your rambling about women. With such detail, it's like you're trying to give him material to imagine while he sleeps.
Belphie tries his hardest not to tell you to quiet down sometimes. He's forced to come to RAD, he's stuck by your side, mostly because your taste in men and women are quite similar to his. He's been sorely lacking on the cute girls and guys here at RAD, but he can count on you to provide eye candy for him. Not that he's going to act on it. Most of the time, he's too busy trying to block out your constant rambling. He notices it's mostly about women.
He thinks you're insecure at first, trying to appeal to him, presumably a straight guy, while appearing interested in men to seem straight too. He let's it be known for your comfort, if you like girls more than guys, then it's fine. He's not one to care or judge others on their interest. An anarchist at heart, and your chaotic bisexuality freak-outs are what he lives for. If you were more quiet about it, he would find it easier to fall asleep to. He manages to do that a few times.
Let's it slip while talking about a dream he had that he's interested in guys too. Maybe a little more than you are, though. 50/50 at best. He doesn't really encourage you to talk more about the girls you absolutely DROOL over, but whenever you two are out and you spot a woman, he's always side eyeing you and telling you to wipe your mouth. He sometimes makes a show of it, teasing you by panting like a dog, or telling you to heel. It's all in fun though, and he lets up before it gets too embarrassing.

hi sorry about your asks OMG🥺 i requested it (Kuroo, Bokuto, Asahi and Atsumu) reacting to their crush/ soulmate (you choose babe) self defense?
Note: Hi girlie! Thanks for the request! 🥺❤️
Haikyuu Boys reacting to self-defense
Tetsurō Kuroo
Tumblr media
“Self-defense classes?” Kuroo asked.
“Yeah, I have been taking them.” Y/n answered sweetly.
Y/n had been taking self-defense classes for while, she just wanted to be prepared in case of any unexpected situation.
“Oof, I could have taught you.” Kuroo said smirkingly.
“You?” Y/n asked confused.
“Hell yeah. I know how to fight.” Kuroo said, trying to flatter himself.
“You never told me?” Y/n answered surprised.
She never knew her boyfriend knew how to fight.
“Just a little something I know, pfft.” Kuroo answered confidently.
In fact, he didn’t even know how to fight.
“Well, teach me something now.” Y/n pleaded.
She was excited,
Being taught how to fight by her famous boyfriend?
Man, that’s like winning bingo.
“I- N- Now?” Kuroo asked nervously.
“Yes, babe.” Y/n answered excitedly.
He didn’t expect teaching her in that moment—
For God’s sake—
He didn’t even had the skills to do it.
‘This should be easy.’ Kuroo thought.
“Well, sorry if I’m a little rough with ya’” Kuroo said smirkingly.
Y/n looked at him and smiled happily.
“Let’s get a little easy on you.” Kuroo said as he throwed a little fist when unexpectedly—
‘What the—’ Kuroo thought.
She took his fist tightly, twisting his hand rapidly.
“AHH—” Kuroo squeal as he fell on the floor.
“B-Babe are you okay?!” Y/n asked worried as she kneel on the floor beside him.
“Y-You c-can do that?” Kuroo asked surprised and perplexed.
“Y-Yeah?” Y/n answered worried, worried that she may have hurt him.
“Y-You’re like a ninja turtle.” Kuroo muttered.
“W-What?” Y/n asked concerned as she checked him to see if there were any injuries.
“I- I love ninja turtles.” Kuroo muttered softly.
“I- I—” Y/n stutter confused.
Maybe she will teach him to fight like a ninja turtle,
Who knows?
Kōtarō Bokuto
Tumblr media
“You’re girlfriend knows self-defense?” Akaashi asked confused.
“Yes! She’s so cool!” Bokuto answered excitedly.
But for some reason Akaashi didn't believe it, he thought it was just that his best friend was exaggerating since he saw his girlfriend as a Greek Goddess.
“You’re just exaggerating.” Akaashi said.
“W-What? I’m not.” Bokuto answered sincerely.
“You idolize your girlfriend too much.” Akaashi said annoyed.
“You’re just jealous because you don’t have a girlfriend, Keiji.” Konoha teased.
“Shut up.” Akaashi answered annoyed.
He was curious, could it be true or could it just be exaggeration?
“BABE!” Bokuto screamed excitedly as he watch his girlfriend entered the gym.
“Bo, baby.” Y/n muttered sweetly.
Making Akaashi almost gagged for the PDA the two of them were showing.
“Get a room, idiots.” Akaashi muttered.
“Baby, Akaashi doesn’t believe you know self-defense.” Bokuto said, making Akaashi flinch at the sudden comment.
“Really?” Y/n asked confused.
“Can you show him please? Please show him!!!” Bokuto pleaded happily.
But how could she say no to that cute face?
“Anything for you, babe.” Y/n answered sweetly.
Akaashi felt prepared, she was small compared to him—
“Ready, nugget?” Akaashi asked sarcastically as he put himself in position.
‘D-Did he just called me nugget?’ Y/n thought.
He felt prepared—
“I won’t go easy on y—” Akaashi was saying until he felt a solid kick on one of his thighs.
He was no longer prepared.
“Ah-” Akaashi squeal as he felt another solid kick on his other thigh, making him fall on his kneels immediately.
“I won’t go easy on you.” Y/n muttered jokingly as she gave him another kick— making him fall completely on the floor.
‘W-What the fuck.’ Akaashi thought.
“BABE! THAT WAS SO COOL.” Bokuto screamed happily, jumping from excitement.
“Thanks babe.” Y/n answered sweetly.
“T-That was awesome.” Konoha whispered to himself.
“S-She destroyed, Akaashi.” Haruki whispered.
“Y-You did it so beautifully, so angelic.” Bokuto preached her.
He was happy, happy that his girlfriend got to show Akaashi her special talent.
How cool is that?
Like don’t forget he’s on the floor, Bo.
“M-Maybe she’s a Goddess after all...” Akaashi whispered softly, trying to regain his composure.
Asahi Azumane
Tumblr media
“T-They’re bothering your girlfriend.” Daichi said.
“I know, but she can take care of them.” Asahi said as he looked at the scene.
Three boys were surrounding and bothering his girlfriend
“Can you let me in?” Y/n asked politely.
“I don’t know, can you?” One of the boys asked.
She was confused, why were this unknown boys bothering her?
“I’m asking politely, can you just let me in? I’m kinda late.” Y/n asked politely again.
The boy looked at her and smirked.
“Don’t you wanna have fun with us instead?” One of the boys asked flirtatiously.
She just couldn’t believe their horrible manners.
“I’m going to ask you one more time, just let me in.” Y/n said again politely.
The three boys were playing with her patience.
“Just a little fun, babe?” One of the boys said while grabbing her arm.
Oh, no.
They didn’t know what was coming for them—
“First of all.” Y/n said as she took her leg and kick him on the stomach— making him fall on the floor.
“Fuck.” The boy said painfully as he fell on the floor.
“I’m not your babe.” Y/n answered as she looked at the other boy.
“What’s your prob—” The other boy was saying but was interrupted when he felt a sudden solid kick on his groin.
“And second, treat me with respect.” Y/n said smiling as she heard him squeal painfully.
“I- I —” The boy stutter.
Which left her seeing the last boy.
“And lastly, don’t ever mess with me again.” Y/n said as she smiled at him.
The three boys kept looking at her very scaredy and perplexed.
‘H-How?’ The three of them thought.
“Just leave before I get to teach you too.” Y/n warned the last boy, making him run with the other two boys.
She was happy to give them a lesson, she didn't regret it at all.
“I—” Daichi stutter suprisedly.
“T-That—s-she did that?” Sugawara asked perplexed.
“Yes, my baby did that.” Asahi answered very sweetly.
He was so proud of her.
She can kick butts? That’s awesome 🥺.
“W-Wow.” Both of them said.
She was his queen after all.
Atsumu Miya
Tumblr media
“What?” Atsumu asked confused.
“Yeah babe, I can kick your butt.” Y/n said sweetly.
With that sweet tone, how could he believed her?
“You’re so cute, aren’t you?” Atsumu asked sweetly.
“What? Babe... you don’t believe me?” Y/n asked, showing her puppy eyes.
“Babe, you can’t kick my butt.” Atsumu said.
“Y-Yes I can.” Y/n said sweetly making his teammates laugh.
“What’s that Atsumu? Scared of your girlfriend?” Osamu teased.
Atsumu looked at them and shake his head annoyed.
“I- I don’t want to hurt her. My strength is brute.” Atsumu tried explaining.
“Sounds like a pussy to me.” Osamu teased, making his twin brother annoyed.
“Come on, teach us, little bean.” Aone said sweetly.
Y/n looked at her boyfriend and smiled.
“Ready babe?” Y/n asked sweetly.
“Don’t say I didn’t warned you.” Atsumu answered sweetly.
And that’s when suddenly her eyes changed, making him flinched.
“Don’t flatter yourself.” Y/n answered teasingly.
Making him gulped, nervous— not prepared at all.
‘What—’ Atsumu thought.
“Sorry babe.” Y/n said flirtatiously, kicking strongly both of his legs.
“Ow.” Atsumu painfully said.
Suddenly feeling her leg on his head, pushing him to the floor.
“Wow.” Atsumu muttered surprised.
‘S-She can do that.’ Atsumu thought.
“A-Are you okay?” Y/n asked worried; worried that she may have hurt her boyfriend.
“Y-You’re so hot.” Atsumu whispered.
“I- Um, what?” Y/n asked confused.
Atsumu looked at her and smiled.
“That was so hot.” Atsumu answered flirtatiously.
He was really surprised about his girlfriend skills.
He couldn’t believe his baby girl could do that.
“Lmao, what a wack ass.” Osamu yelled, making Atsumu smirked.
He couldn’t believe his girlfriend had beat his ass.

an unlikely match
nishinoya yu x fem!reader
Tumblr media
[a/n: you’re no bother my love, thank you for the request🥺!! This is my first ever nishinoya request and I love this prompt, enjoy!! -yours truly, bunnyy -`ღ´- ]
It was a normal sight to see you walking down the hall, head down and scurrying to your next class but that means that who don’t take the time to notice, are completely blind to your presence.
With that being said, you had gone to the gym to find Kiyoko. She had approached you about joining the team as a manager, she found it a little endearing that you had barely looked up into her eyes, your cheeks a permanent crimson color. After dropping off the form, you rushed out. Head down, as always. That’s when-
“Oof!”
The person you had bumped into groaned as you lost your balance, a small shriek of surprise leaving your lips as you landed on the hard concrete. You looked up to see a boy that you thought was in one of your classes. His eyes were wide with worry.
“Nishinoya! Don’t just run in so suddenly like that!” Daichi scolded before making his way into the gym.
“I-I’m sorry.” Nishinoya stuttered as he held his hand out to you, frowning a bit when he saw you stare at it in confusion before hesitantly reaching out and taking it, shakily getting back to your feet.
“T-Thank y-you...” He noticed that you had been staring at the ground.
“O-Oi...are you that upset about it?” He asked curiously, crouching down to get eye level with you. “I said I was sorry.” He grinned, eyes finally finding yours. Your breath hitched once you made eye contact with his golden-brown gaze, a strange feeling erupting in his stomach as he gazed into your gorgeous eyes. His smile quickly dropped into a frown once he noticed you looked away. “Are you sure you’re okay?”
You nodded before softly murmuring a ‘yes’ and running off.
He stood there, a bit shocked before making his way into the gym, not wanting to be late for practice. He couldn’t help but be a little distracted, your eyes were mesmerizing and he couldn’t quite pinpoint why he was feeling so giddy. Even the rest of the team had pointed out that he was extra energetic during practice, he shrugged it off as it just being a particularly good day.
That next morning, there you were. Sitting at your desk while mindlessly doodling in the margins of your notebook while you waited for the bell to ring. A light bulb went off in his head and with a grin, he rushed out of the classroom.
You almost jumped out of your skin when something suddenly thumped against your desk, meekly looking up, you were a litttle surprised to see the boy you had bumped into yesterday. There was a carton of milk and some bread sitting beside your notebook.
“I didn’t know you were in this class.”
“Y-yeah, I’ve sat behind you s-since the beginning of t-the year.”
From then on, he had paid more attention to you. Asking to be paired up with you on projects and inviting you to have lunch with him. You had ended up not joining the team as a manager since the social aspect of it was a little overwhelming.
Your guys’ friendship had been the talk of the second year class. Nobody had ever really seen you open up that much, it was definitely surprising to see you smile or laugh with some during class. Tanaka being...well, himself. He blabbed about it to the team. Basically in tears because ‘Noya was leaving him for some girl.’ Everyone shrugged it off since they thought he was talking about Shimizu but they were all shocked when they had seen the both of you walk towards the gym, stopping right outside. They watched as he gave you a hug and the way you had shyly waved goodbye before scurrying off.
“Wah! Noya-senpai has a girlfriend?!” Hinata shouted the moment Yū had entered the gym.
“I didn’t know you and (y/n)-san were dating.” Asahi asked, teasing grin on his face.
“Wait, who said anything about dating?” Tanaka tilted his head in confusion.
“Dating?” Noya echoed his confusion as he stood beside his bald friend.
Tsukishima shook his head, unbelief clear on his face as the gym fell silent.
“You just said that Noya was leaving you for a girl?” Suga clarifies.
Tanaka frowned and shook his head. “I meant that he had a new best friend...”
“Wait...who am I dating?” Nishinoya scratched his head.
“(Y/n)!” Everyone shouted in frustration.
...
“Eh? Me and (y/n)?”
After having denied it, practice went on as usual but he was a little distracted. Did he like you like that? He did feel strange when’s he was with you, it was a good strange though. Like his heart was doing flips. It wasn’t until the next day that he had realized it. The team was setting up for a game when he realized that he had let you borrow his club jacket. He remembered the blush on your cheeks when he had draped it over your shoulders, it made his own cheeks heat up.
Once warm ups were over, the starting lineup made their way to the court. He had hopefully searched the stands but you were no where to be found. He didn’t focus on it too much but you were still on his mind.
Spirits were low, hope almost lost. There were in the middle of their third set and things weren’t looking so well. Especially Nishinoya, he was beating himself up for not saving the chance ball they had and you could tell. You had been watching since the start of the second set and his mood had significantly gotten worse. It ached you to see him so angry at himself. You took a deep breath, hands clutching around the fabric of the jacket you were wearing.
“YOU’VE GOT THIS Yū! SHAKE IT OFF KARASUNO! YOU’LL GET THE NEXT ONE!” your voice echoed through the silence. Both teams looked up at you. Everyone from Karasuno was surprised. The day you had trial tested the manager position, you had flinched when someone so much as looked at you. Nishinoya was grinning so wide he thought his face was gonna split open. Watching you shout with all your might, eyes screwed shut, cheeks flushed, and clutching onto his jacket was all the confirmation he needed.
“Well you heard her.” He smirked, Asahi and Daichi nodded determinedly.
They ended up winning the match, excitement coursing through their veins as the whistle blew.
You waited for people in the stands to start leaving so you could rush down to the court. As you sprinted passed the threshold of the double doors, you had crashed into someone and stumbled back a bit.
“Oh I’m so sorry.” You apologized, looking up in confusion when he didn’t move away.
“You’re that cutie that was shouting in the stands, aren’t you?” He flashed you a flirty smile.
“Please, can I just pass through?” You asked meekly, meeting eyes with Nishinoya.
“Come on sweetheart, what’s the rush?”
“Leave her alone man.” The guy turned and sure enough, there was Nishinoya. Arms crossed and glaring.
“Tch and what are you-“ then Tana and Daichi appeared behind Nishinoya, a scary look in their faces as they crossed their arms.
“Is there a promise here?” Daichi’s voice rumbled. The guy that was hitting on you rolled his eyes and gave up, walking over to his team. Before you could say anything, Yū grabbed your shoulders and planted a big smooch on your lips. Surprising yourself and everyone else.
“Y-Yū! What’re you d-doing?” You stuttered, self conscious about all the eyes on the both of you.
“Well, I really like you. S-so I just thought-“ you cut him off by throwing your arms around his shoulders and pressing another kiss to his lips, burying your face in the crook of his neck.
“I-I really l-like you t-too.” He grinned and wrapped his arms around you, holding you nice and tight.
Let’s just say that wasn’t the last time you cheered for him at a game.

Pairing: Akaashi x reader
Warnings: None
Summary: In which Akaashi spends the entire week trying to ask y/n out, not quite ending in the romantic way he thought but would.
A/n: I love Akaashi so much, also I'm gonna try a different format for this fic, please tell me If it was ok, or if it was hard to read!
Tumblr media
Monday-
Akaashi made up his mind, he was going to ask his longtime crush and friend, you, out by the end of the week.
He sat at his desk thinking of ideas and scrapping the ones that seem bad.
'What if I just ask her? But when?' His thoughts are interrupted by the teacher clearing her voice and starting class.
He takes notes vigilantly eyes wandering to where you sat two seats up and to the left of him, hair slightly falling into your face as you occasionally look up at the board.
The school day goes by slowly, and it feels like forever before lunch.
'Should I just get it over with?'
He stands from his desk right as Bokuto appears in the doorway.
"Akaashi! Let's have lunch in the clubroom." He exclaims, loudly, may I add.
Akaashi sighs slightly, but can't help the small smile that makes its way into his face as he grabs his lunch and walks out with Bokuto, listening as he talked animatedly about a new play he wanted to try.
After lunch, you got paired with a different student for a project, not exactly giving Akaashi the 'golden opportunity' to ask you out.
Once the school bell rang signaling the end of school, your friends got to you first, pulling you out of your seat just as you finished packing up, and disappearing out the door with a "Sorry Akaashi! I'll see you tomorrow!"
'Tomorrow for sure'
Tuesday-
It was raining on this Tuesday, nobody though it would, but the drops of water came quickly from the sky, creating a pattering noise on the pavement.
You burst through the door, your hair and the top half of your uniform shirt drenched. At least your blazer was dry, as you bowed to the teacher aplogetically, and fumbled to close the buttons.
Akaashi watches out of the corner of his eye as you opened your bag taking out your book, realizing you forgot your pencil case.
He watched as you ask the people around you, failing to accuire a pencil, before turning to him and gesturing to a pencil.
He nods and gives you one, heart racing as your fingers brush slightly, and you give him a smile that made his head spin slightly. He's got it bad.
The lunch comes and goes, Akaashi insisting you keep it until the day ends, so you have something to write with in your afternoon classes.
He would've asked you out but thought, 'It seems like I'm asking them out as payment for borrowing my pencil.'
'Tomorrow he thought as he changed in the club room'
Wednesday-
It was Wednesday when everything went wrong.
He walked into class to see a guy probably from another class leaning over your desk as you both laughed. He couldn't tell who it was at first, and he couldn't help the squeeze in his heart and throat that caught his breath.
'Of course they'd get asked out, they're gorgeous.'
Class started and Akaashi tried his best not to look over at you.
Once lunch started be got up out of his seat and decided to meet Bokuto halfway, seeing you get up and turn towards him, about to walk over.
"Bokuto-san!" He, not yelled, but said loudly as he jogged over to the captain.
"Akaashi! How's it going with the plan to ask y/n out? "
Akaashi frowned as they began walking to the club room. "They're either already dating someone or they got asked out this morning. I saw."
Bokuto frowned "But you don't know for sure, they would've told you."
Akaashi sighed, "Yeah, but I'd rather not take a chance and end up embarrassing myself, besides it's not like I have a say in who they get to date or not."
Bokuto nods in response, ideas brewing in his head how did Akaashi not see the way Y/n looked at him too?
Once they got to the club room Akaashi out his stuff down and turned to Bokuto "I'm gonna try to distance myself, it would be better if I just got over my feelings."
"If that's what you think you should do." He laughed nervously, making eye contact with Konoha, who had an eyebrow raised at the pair.
'Does he know?' Konoha mouthed, Bokuto shaking his head in response.
Thursday-
Akaashi walked into the classroom, his stoic face not wavering as he walked by y/n's desk, replacing his usual small smile with a nod to them.
He only felt slightly bad when y/n frowned, looking concerned. The class felt like it would never end, as he saw y/n take glances at him in his peripheral vision.
The bell for lunch rang after why felt like forever, and he got up right away and walked as quickly as he could out of the door, not missing how y/n stood up from their desk about to walk over to them.
'Should they even be coming over to talk to me when they're dating someone?'
He ran straight into Bokuto's back, head too preoccupied with overthinking.
"Oof" Akaashi grunted, snapping out of his thoughts.
Bokuto turned and narrowed his eyes, it wasn't like Akaashi to be so preoccupied when it wasnt exam week.
"You ok, Akaashi?" Bokuto steadys Akaashi by holding onto his shoulders.
Akaashi nods "Just thinking about the practice game tomorrow."
Bokuto can tell that Akaashi wanted to change the subject by the way he picked at the skin between his middle and ring finger.
They talked all through lunch in the club room, well, Bokuto talked and Akaashi gave input when needed, talking all the way to Akaashi's classroom, where Bokuto left Akaashi with a wave and a speedwalk down the hallway and up the stairs.
He ignored the states you gave him, you couldn't possibly be worried, it's not like you were the closest of friends, only occasionally studying together, eating lunch together and walking home.
The bell rang and Akaashi, who was usually one of the last to leave, was the first out, wanting to avoid your confrontation.
You stood outside of the clubroom that he just disappeared into.
"Ah! Bokuto-senpai!" You jogged down the stairs to where Bokuto just left the school.
"Did I do something to upset Akaashi?" You ask.
Bokuto shook his head "It's not my place to say, but don't worry about it."
You sigh, running a hand through your hair "Should I still go through with it tomorrow?"
Bokuto's eyes widened.
"Of course you have to!"
You nod, "Well, I'm gonna go home, I wouldn't want to keep you from practice."
Sending him a wave you walk home.
Friday-
Friday came finally, and a small part of Akaashi's brain chatsized him for not asking you out.
He sat in class, feelings repressed as he took notes, absorbed in the lesson.
Lunch came quickly, and you stood out of your seat and left the classroom.
Akaashi sighed with relief and took out his lunch slowly and walked slowly to find Bokuto.
He couldn't find Bokuto in his classroom, so he left the main building to the clubroom, and then the gym.
He was about to turn the corner when he heard your voice mix with Bokuto's.
"No he dosent know yet, come to the practice game tonight to tell him."
Of course you would be dating Bokuto. Who wouldn't? The ace had a vibrant personality and was attractive. He got letters from admirers and girls confessing all the time.
He couldn't help the jealousy that coursed through him as he walked back to the classroom, eating there.
The day went by quickly, Akaashi zoning in and out of insecure thoughts and taking notes.
For the last 30 minutes of the day however, Akaashi pushed all thoughts away except for the notes in front of him, and the practice game after school.
The bell rang and Akaashi's focus was on the game and the new play that the team was going to try.
"Akaashi!" Bokuto yelled once he saw Akaashi.
Akaashi startled himself with the jealousy that bloomed when he saw Bokuto.
'No, you can ask him later, the game is more important.'
He smiled and walked with him, politely listening to what the Ace had to say.
once they made it to the club room, the room was quiet, everyone getting into the zone.
They warmed up, and watched as the other team walked in.
They played, and won after 3 long sets. The team yelling in victory.
They bowed to the other team and began to clean up, some of his teammates on the floor, tired.
Akaashi went with some teammates to put the net away, and once he came back, he was met with you talking to Bokuto. Putting on a wry smile, he walked over.
"Oh! Akaashi! Can we talk?" You exclaimed, a nervous tremor in your voice.
He nodded and walked with you outside of the gym, not noticing how his team gathered behind the door, listening.
"So, um, we've been friends for a while, and-" You started, as Akaashi cut you off.
"Y/n, it's ok, I know you're dating Bokuto."
Your jaw dropped, in shock. The two of you stood in silence for a minute before he moved to leave.
He froze when he heard laughing, your laughing.
"I'm not dating Bokuto-senpai. I was trying to ask you out." You smiled, slightly out of breath.
Akaashi stood there in shock before turning and yelling at the sky.
"Are you kidding me?" He turned back to you, a wide grin on his face.
You looked shocked and had tears welling up in your eyes.
"I'm sorry, I must've gotten mixed signals." You sniff, as Akaashi realizes his mistake.
"No, I'm so happy, I've been trying to ask you out all week, but thought you were dating Bokuto."
You smile back at him as he drags you into a hug.
Scrunching your nose you pull away.
"You're sweaty." You laugh lightly.
"Wait here, I'll walk you home once I change." Akaashi can't wipe the grin off his face as he jogs to the club room.
Once he gets back he sees you bowing to Bokuto and Konoha.
"Thank you for helping me even though it didn't go as planned."
Everything fits into place in Akaashi's brain as he walks up and bows to them, and waving to his team as he grabs your hand.
"I'm so happy." He sighs
"All week huh?" You tease, causing Akaashi's ears to burn pink.
"I'm also not forgetting how you yelled at the sky." You continue, swinging your arms lightly.
"I was excited" He says, calm demeanor back.
You both chuckle as you swing your arms walking the rest of the way home.

the ghosthunter of nekoma // kenma kozume — 02
Author’s Note: Oof thanks for the response on the previous chapter! I’m loving it so pls tell me what you think of this? The whole ghost/hanyou thing here is something I made up and just gave it a story on my own, so it might definitely be different from Noragami and Shintoism that I’ve just brushed up on! Let me know what you think!
Word count: 2k
Pairing: Ghosthunter! Kenma Kozume x Hanyou! Reader
Summary: Ever since you were born, things weren’t going your way. Being able to jump in and out of your body as a spirit might have sounded cool in theory, but in reality, you were just target practice for other spirits to take advantage of. Just when you thought you could get accustomed to living a regular life, meeting the ghosthunter of Nekoma turned your life around to a complete 360.
Warnings: unrequited love, slow burn, one-sided crush, slight angst, pining, crackhead reader, ghosts, supernatural stuff, alternate universe, haikyuu manga spoilers, fluff

c h a p t e r - t w o  dishonest words are poison.
The nurse ended up giving you an entire bottle of electrolytes. The only reason you could lose consciousness from a volleyball hitting you on your head was simply because you were apparently not eating right, which you only ended up agreeing with despite knowing the actual reason. Mimi's crying face was a bit funny, but you weren't going to laugh at her. You stared at your now empty wrist before feeling dread settle in your lower stomach. You felt nauseous now when you thought of the trek that led to your grandmother's shrine, but it wasn't your grandmother that scared you.
It was the other maiden from the shrine; the one who had given you the magatama in the first place.
Sato Fujie was a good friend of your grandmother's, old enough to be your grandmother too, but she didn't really like being called that. As one of the oldest Miko in the shrine, she had every right to order you around because you were hanyou.
"I was so scared!" Mimi most definitely was. You didn't doubt that.
All you could do was offer her a helpless smile before muttering to her that you needed to head home. She understood right away and some of the boys from the club suggested that they'd even walk you home, but no, you weren't that exhausted. You could walk home yourself and you wanted the fresh air and the alone time. You looked toward the boys and noticed that the ghosthunter wasn't around, which meant that he hadn't left the gym at all ever since your departure. You didn't know if he spared your life or if he had left you off on a warning; what was your modus operandi now? What were you to do? Did you have to tell your grandmother that there's a ghosthunter in Nekoma?
*
"There are ghosthunters everywhere, you bird brain!" Sato screamed into your ear as she pinched at the end of it.
You had tears leaking out of your eyes now with how forceful she was being. Making a magatama that could keep your soul intact took days, and in those days, you were just as helpless as a newly born fawn in a field full of hungry lions. Her metaphors always did manage to scare you beyond the actual facts that were being presented, but you turned to your grandmother who watched solemnly. Sato and your grandmother were both Miko, and they wore the traditional attire that included a red hakama, a white kimono robe, and their hair tied with red hair ribbons. Sato particularly took more caution with her appearance, dying her hair black almost every week and attempting to look younger than she was. Your grandmother, on the other hand, embraced her age.
It was then the ghosthunter's voice rang in your head. His words had confused you, and now you couldn't hold back anymore.
"He told me that it's not safe for me the way I am. It's not like I can do anything about it, right?"
Sato and your grandmother both didn't answer. This proved that they knew something you didn't, or that there was something there that they were not telling you. This hesitance made you want to press on. You narrowed your eyes before looking Sato straight in the eye.
"Sato-sama," You said carefully, "What happens if a ghosthunter severs my ties with the spirit world?"
"We told you already! They sever your ties with the spirit world, and that's it." Sato said, aggressively.
What...? Something definitely didn't feel right.
    "Will that kill me?"
Your grandmother's look hardened. Your heart dropped, and you were confused with what they were not telling you.
"He didn't do it," You pressed on, "He let me go and just told me it isn't safe for me the way I am. If he had used his tanto on me, what would have happened?"
"(y/n)," It was your grandmother who spoke this time, "Let it go."
No, you thought but Sato was already getting up to go make the magatama. You looked at Sato's back as she walked away, almost helplessly, before turning to your grandmother and giving her a pleading look. Your grandmother sighed before running her hand through your hair and placing the same hand against your cheek. You could feel how wrinkled she was, and you wanted to understand if keeping this a secret even had a reason at all.
"I know there's something else there, obaa-san," You said, pressing your lips together in the end, "Please, tell me so I won't make mistakes after finding out."
"(y/n)," You were hoping she'd say something related to the issue at hand, "The magatama will be ready in a few days. Please, do not remove it this time."
Your heart dropped in the blatant way your grandmother ignored you. You held your breath before picking up your things and just leaving the shrine. You didn't bother to give your grandmother another look, you were angry that they were keeping you in the dark, you were angry because it felt wrong wanting to go look for answers elsewhere. The only choice you had was the ghosthunter whose name you didn't even know.
The next day in school, you wanted to find out where the ghosthunter was. You knew that he wasn't a third-year, and you knew that he wasn't a first-year, which meant he was a second-year. You also knew that Mimi knew some of the second years from the team, and it would rather easy for her to find out who the pudding head was. However, your sudden curiosity might trigger something else in her head and you desperately wanted to avoid that. Therefore, the best way you could find out his name without involving anyone else was by taking a risk.
You knew that the fourth period, right before lunch was a relatively free hour. Students in your class were allowed to do anything—complete homework, talk to one another by keeping their voices low or even take a nap. It was a strange thing to let students do, but you were grateful for the free hour now more than ever before. Whispering to Mimi that you were going to take a long nap and that you didn't want to be woken up, she nodded furiously before giving you a fake salute.
Taking a deep breath, you exited your body.
As a hanyou, you always knew that exiting your body was the easiest. Getting back in was the tough part, but that wasn't in your head right then. You took a deep breath before moving through the corridors, checking through each door where the second-year classes were, and trying to spot a familiar ghosthunter. It was in the third class, a rather sharp 2-3, did you spot him.
His eyes immediately caught hold of your form before glaring at you, and you waved helplessly before quietly walking in. The boy straightened his back from suddenly slouching, and he looked rather anxious as you approached him. You peered into his notebook and noticed that his name was Kenma Kozume, and you grinned to yourself at how your plan had actually worked.
You shoot him a thumbs up a second later, before whispering, "Thank you, Kozume-kun!"
You heard him let out a groan before you skipped out of class, just going through the door.
Luckily for you, you could get back into your body without a hassle. Mimi apparently hadn't even tried to wake you up, and that had taken just ten minutes so the short nap worked as a perfect excuse. When the class took a break for lunch, you and Mimi walked out casually, with you being personally satisfied over a rather big win. However, you spotted Kenma Kozume, standing ahead of you two, a strange look in his eye.
"Need to talk." Was all he said, avoiding your gaze.
Mimi narrowed her eyes together before murmuring, "Why does Kozume-senpai want to talk to you?"
You shrugged before following Kenma, but secretly feeling your stomach drop at the anticipation. Kenma led you toward a corridor in the school where there were relatively fewer people, and he shot you a threatening look.
"You pull that move once again and I'll definitely end you."
You grin helplessly before rubbing the back of your neck, "Sorry. Does it really bother you that much?"
His expression didn't change, "I'm supposed to be hunting ghosts."
That's where you knew your cue was to ask him a question, "Yeah, see, now... That's what I don't understand."
Kenma blinked at you, "What?"
"I'm a hanyou, not a ghost. I can get in and out whenever I want, and it's rather convenient sometimes. I understand that other ghosts can enter my body while I'm away, and that's a legitimate thing to fear, but how am I a threat?"
Kenma looked at you like you were an idiot. You were almost appalled at the gaze he was giving you.
"Didn't anyone tell you that spirits can kill one another?"
What?
Your eyes widened at his sudden exclamation, which sounded like he was saying the most casual thing ever. Kenma's face didn't reveal what he was feeling, and if it did, then that meant he was feeling nothing. There was not a tinge of emotion on his face and you didn't know whether to feel worried or relieved that he was looking that way.
"What... I mean... I'm... safe inside my body, right?"
Kenma sighed. He licked his lips before thinking to himself if telling you what he was about to would be the right thing to do. Contemplating his own conflicts on speaking to someone like you, Kenma decided against it.
"It's not my job to educate you."
You were nearly close to pleading. You suddenly grabbed his wrist, shocking him and not noticing the rapid growth of red on his cheeks.
"Please, Kozume-kun," You said, "I know there's something wrong with what my grandmother and the Miko are hiding from me. I need to know what I am. I need to know why this is happening to me and why I feel so... so different."
Kenma could have empathized with you, he definitely could have. But he was trained to study the various types of ways that ghosts could manipulate people. The first method that ghosts usually used was to get the person to empathize. Strikingly similar to what you were doing right then. He brushed your hand away harshly before clicking his tongue at you.
"If you pull that stunt again," He warned you, "And there's a ghost nearby, I won't be responsible for what happens to you."
"Kozume-kun, I... If you sever my ties to the spirit world, will I die?"
He paused before his expression changed. He blinked at you as he raised his eyebrows. Clearly, whoever raised you had done a brilliant job in keeping you in the dark. Not only did they avoid telling you how much you were in danger, but they also refused to be honest with you about your own nature.
"Hanyou are the way they are because they almost died at some point. If you were born like this then you weren't even supposed to be alive," Kenma's words reverberated in your mind, "Think about that, and maybe you'll get your answer."
"Not supposed to be alive?" Your voice was barely a whisper.
Kenma turned away to leave before letting you rot in your own thoughts.
Not supposed to be alive.
Not supposed to be alive.
Then, you turned to walk away but the shaking of your hands was too severe for you to even take another step forward, Why am I alive at all?

Every Hero Has Their End(SWF)
During hero training at U.A, Y/N gets a disturbing phone call from home. And Bakugou Katsuki is there to soothe them however he can.
Warnings: Death, Established relationship, Comfort
PSA: I will be trying my best to make this a Gender-neutral and Quirk-Neutral Fic.
https://archiveofourown.org/works/28103730/chapters/69066837#workskin
I've found out that the world is the most peaceful whenever I'm training at school; Watching as my classmates shout encouragements to each other, and knowing that right now, we are all oblivious to the chaos and bloodshed happening outside of these gym doors. Oblivious to how fast heroes are losing their grip on what faith the public has in them, and since All Might has stepped down they are losing it even faster.
"Oi, dumbass. You just gonna sit there and mope like an extra or are you gonna let me beat your ass to a pulp?" And this was my favorite part, the unbreakable wall of angry optimism; Bakugou. When I looked to face him he had poor Izuku in a headlock and was practically dragging him on the floor, Izuku was muttering about some kind of suit upgrade or maybe it was All Might? With him, it's always one of the two. "Cause this shitty nerd won't stop holding back."
I quickly flipped bakugou off. "Ya know that you don't need to call everyone names, it just makes you seem more like a kid" As I walked up to the pair I peeled Izuku from Bakugou's grasp, letting him drop to the floor. "And haven't you bullied Izuku enough." I reached my hand out to help him up. As he held onto my hand I could feel Bakugou's glare, he always hated it whenever I did 'relationship things' with other people. Even though this was just me helping the beating bag up.
"Thanks Y/N" Izuku quickly quipped out as he started whipping the dust and dirt off of his hero costume, unaware that he was still holding my hand. I didn't really care, I knew it was just an accident but I could feel Bakugou's glare shift down to where we were touching. He quickly stomped over and grabbed my wrist, ripping ti away from Izuku's.
"Tch. I thought I told you to stop touching TRASH." As Bakugou pulled you towards him he made sure that the last word was directed at Izuku, making sure it came off harsher. Izuku took the hint and left, quickly finding his squad over the other side of the gym. I gave a soft wave in his direction, as I did I could hear Bakugou huff and puff.
"You really need to work on your passiveness, I and Izuku are just friends. You know I have no interest in our class-mates." I patted his chest as I walked by him, going to continue my endurance training. Even though I was daydreaming and not really training, as I kicked at the rouble I made Bakugou came up behind me and wrapped his arms around my waist. placing my arms on top of his I leaned into him. "And don't worry, the term 'Class-mate' extends to all of the other classes as well." That earned a small chuckle from him.
"As your boyfriend, I have the right to mark you as mine, AND to keep shitty nerds away from you." He moved his hands away from me and turned me to face him, as I looked up to him I spotted multiple spots where Izuku had hit him. I would never say it to his face but, Izuku isn't the little weak kid that he knew before U.A. "And anyways I really wanted to fight someone on MY level." At that his face morphed into a large smirk, he grabbed onto my shoulders and threw me to the left. I wasn't prepared for such a movement and landed on my side.
"Dude, WHAT THE FUCK?!" Leaning onto my elbow, I looked at him. "You could at least give me a god damn warning" He quickly stalked over to me and stood over me.
"Nah."
Well, what a wonderful boyfriend... If he wanted a fight I'll give him a fight. I leaned back and kicked my legs up behind him, which kicked him over my head. As my legs held their momentum I flipped over to lay on my hands, laying in a lower push-up position. As he landed on his hands he activated his quirk and flipped to land on his feet unharmed. I went to activate my quirk to push me onto my feet but I found myself unable to use it. When I looked over to Bakugou he was wrapped up in Mr.Aizawa's capture 'scarf'. I got up to walk over to the pair.
"Y/N, you have a phone call. And next time please make sure to silence your cellular device during school, it interrupted my nap." He handed me my phone, which was showing an active call from my mother. "Now please don't make me have to get up again"
As he turned and started walking away he let go of Bakugou and deactivated his own quirk. "THANK YOU SENSAI!" I pulled the phone up to my face and quickly greeted my mother.
"Hey Y/N, h-how are you?" I could hear the presentation in her voice.
"Um, I'm a good mom. Not to rush you but what's with the call during school?"
"*Sigh* Well, I and your father just got the news that..... That ..." I grumbled, she knew not to call me during class and this was just taking too long.
"What do you NEED mom?" Oof, that came out kinda harsh.
"Oh, um. I just wanted to tell you, that. Your brother was fighting a villain downtown, and that. . . The villain delivered an a-a fatal blow to his head. And t-that when the other h-heros f-f-found him he w-was pronounced d-d-d-dead on arrival."
I heard my phone hit the ground, and I could feel myself drop to my knees. I don't recall telling my body to do so but my hand slapped over my mouth as I started sobbing. This couldn't be true, my elder brother had just gotten out of hero school and was fighting with the pros. They couldn't have failed him like that.
_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
As Y/N was on the phone Kirishima had walked over to me, scolding me for the 'unmanly' move I pulled on Y/N. Saying a true man doesn't attack like that. I didn't care too much about it, in the heat of battle, a hero does everything they can to stop the villain. He doesn't have to be manly about it, he just has to get the job done. As I peaked around Shitty Hair I could see you drop your phone and fall onto your knees. Tears were streaming down your face, I could hear the muffled sobs from all the way over here.
As I grabbed Shitty Hair's shoulder a pushed him to the side, with much less force as when I did it to you earlier. I couldn't control what pace I was going at but I felt my feet hit the ground as I ran towards you. When I got closer to you I slid onto my knees to slow myself down, it was quite effective If I must say.
"Y/N?! What's wrong? Why are you crying?!" I pulled you into my chest and reached for your phone. The screen was cracked but I could still see the call active. I brought it up to my face. "Who are you and what the hell did you say to Y/N?!"
"I-i'm their mother, and I-I h-had informed them t-t-that their brot-t-ther had d-d-died in combat with a v-vll--ian today." Oh Shit. I hung up the phone and wrapped my arms around y/n, they sobbed into my hero suit. When the others run up around us I tightened my grip onto y/n.
"As the class rep, I deserve to know when one of our classmates are in trouble" "Bakugou! What's wrong with y/n?" "Did they get hurt?" "Oh shit man" "What should we do? "What happened?" "Kacchan What happened? "I bet Bakugou said something to them." "Ribbit, I'll get Mr. Aizawa"
"Back the FUCK off, they brother just fucking died man." y/n tensed up and started sobbing louder. I followed my brow and squeezed them. "Shit" I moved you to rest against my chest sideways and moved my arm to hold your bridal style. I stood up and pushed through the extras and made my way towards the gym doors. I could feel their tears soaking my suit, they gripped and released the loose cloth as a stepped through the doors. I could hear the others call after me but I had to intention of stopping for them.
When I got up from my room at the dorms and placed them down onto the bed. As I laid down next to them I covered us both with the blankets.

Bucky noticed you before he ever encountered you in the laundry room or the elevator of your dorm building. It figures that it would be at the gym, likely one of the regular places he frequented. Of course, you never knew this until after that fateful night at the Halloween party when you finally, truly connected.
When you asked him to tell you the story, he was playfully vague. But you know. You were there. You’d checked him out too.
Here’s how it really happened.
-----
The summer after your freshman year, you created another reading list to focus on. One of your methods to read these had been to take a book with you to the gym. You figured getting a little exercise at the same time would only help you develop better habits.
It worked, at first. The beginning of the new semester, you went to the gym for maybe two weeks? You enjoyed the ellipticals and recumbent bikes--the things that kept your legs busy but your hands and eyes free to read. It also distracted you from feeling self-conscious about the fact that you didn’t look like the other girls that came to the gym to socialize and work on their already-perfect bodies.
With the addition of classes, going to the gym became a harder habit to keep. You could just stay in your dorm room and read all you want, right? But by now, Rachel, your roommate needed a work-out buddy. Someone to motivate her to continue to go to the gym, as well. She claimed she wanted to get in shape for all the boys she’d scoped out at the floor meeting for the dorm during the first week of the semester.
“Let’s try the classes!” she suggested, pointing at the schedule on the wall. Step Aerobics, Yoga, Zumba, etc. They sounded alright, and maybe a change to your routine would be good.
So you started with the step aerobics class. You didn’t last long. You were breathing hard, face flushed and dripping with sweat. The blood was pounding in your ears, harder than the beats of music and every step on the hardwood floor and plastic steps.
You took a break, heading to the back of the class to get your water bottle. The back of the room was floor to ceiling windows and doors that faced the main area of the gym where all other equipment was. It took you only a second to realize why you disliked this set up. Everyone in the class, mostly other female students were in a fishbowl, on display for all the guys passing by or just blatantly standing at the windows. One guy winked at you and you scowled at him, effectively directing his eyes elsewhere.
What was so sexy about a sweaty step aerobics class? You thought to yourself as you turned to look at Rachel, killing it on the routine.
Oh, the butts, getting toned by the steps...Ugh!
You left after that, picking a leg press machine instead.
“Hey! Why you’d you leave?” Rachel asked after the class was over.
“Did you not see all the guys window shopping?”
“Uh, yeah, I got a number or two,” Rachel giggled, swinging her ponytail over her shoulder. You laughed as you got off the machine, offering it to your friend. She sat down and lowered the weight, significantly.
“I don’t come here to pick up guys.”
“You could if you wanted to,” she said, exhaling on the release. You just rolled your eyes. You told yourself it was because you didn’t have time for a man but really, how could you possibly expect to attract the interest of some jock? The guy that winked at you doesn’t count. He was disqualified the moment he decided to drool over a step aerobics class rather than work out. Your standards weren’t that low, seriously…
You and Rachel tried out a few more machines in the circuit, trying your own hands at strength training. But you realized quickly that you’d left the quieter space of the cardio equipment, too close to the weight lifting benches. Young men of all sizes were pushing themselves to the brink, breathing hard, grunting, exhaling, chanting, and egging each other on.
“Come on, Sam, you can do it! Just two more!” You knew that voice. Everyone on your floor knew Steve Rogers, quarterback, certified hunk and sweetheart. Or at least that’s what you had heard.
“He can’t do it.”
“Shut up, Buck!” a football player shouted as he pushed himself.
Too much testosterone. Intense. Stressful. Intimidating. That’s not what you wanted out of going to the gym. Quite the opposite really.
As you two left the gym, you made a mental note to avoid that area again.
-
The next class you attended was Zumba and not only did you keep up with it but you enjoyed it! The music was awesome and the choreography wasn’t too difficult. You could totally see yourself doing this again. But of course, boys… not men… boys…they ruin all the fun.
If step aerobics could catch the attention of onlookers, then zumba was like blood in the water for sharks.
Then again, you did feel sexy, swaying your hips, waving your hands, rolling your body. You decided to put the spectators out of your mind, losing yourself to a Shakira song.
When you left the class, having stayed for the entire thing and deciding to return tomorrow, you felt so good, so confident, that you didn’t care about who was looking. You were just in Nike leggings and a tie-dye shirt, hair up in a messy bun, nothing special, but you felt great.
“Hey, Rach!” someone called out for your friend, inviting her back over to the weight lifting area. The guy who called out for her looked familiar, someone that was likely found hanging out with Steve Rogers.
“Hey Sam,” she greeted him. You stayed by her side, holding onto that Zumba confidence with a steely grip.
You didn’t really listen to what happened between your friend and the football player. You saw Steve a few feet away with another friend. The man was on his back, legs bent and giant dumbbell weights in each hand. Your eyes went wide as you watched him push them up and hold them there. The way his arms were bulging in that gray t-shirt, he was straining himself and you were tempted to tell him to be careful.
“Give me one more!” Steve encouraged him. His friend winced as that last push was almost too much for him.
“Ah, fuck,” he hissed, exhaling and grinding his teeth. He pushed those dumbbells into the air once more and even a second time, then put them down with a loud thud as rubber met the concrete floor.
You didn’t have the best view of his face from his position on the ground and your standing position over 6 feet away, but that sound...like a growl, and his bared white teeth against that strong jaw covered in stubble…it’s a sound that stirred something deep in your belly.
He jumped to his feet and did a few quick squats in those black basketball shorts. You averted your eyes from his perfect ass just as he turned around.
You wouldn’t mind if he’d been watching you dance.
-------
“Ah, fuck.”
It’s the same sound that he made now as you sit on top of him, his hips thrusting up. His fingers were digging into your hips and would likely leave a bruise, but you didn’t mind. You were Bucky’s and he was yours. You’d staked your claim with that hickey on his chest just the other night.
“Mmph, fuck, damn it. I love it when you move like that,” he grunted. You rolled your hips, earning another moan from his lips before you leaned forward and pressed your chest to his, kissing him. He wrapped his arms around you and pinned you to him as he sat up and rolled over. The grunts and squeaks coming from the two of you as Bucky repositioned himself on top were ridiculous.
“Quit giggling,” he half-laughed. “M’gonna pull a muscle in this bed, I swear.” Your head hit the pillow with a ‘oof’ and another giggle. “Dammit, babe, you make it hard to fuck you when you sound that cute.”
“Then don’t fuck me…” Bucky’s hips froze, his cock buried deep inside you. His sharp features softened with outright confusion and a slight insecurity. You reached up to caress the side of his face, the stubble on his cheek itching your palm. “Make love to me.” Bucky released a heavy sigh, rolled his eyes and collapsed on top of you.
“Don’t mess with me like that, Doll,” he whispered into your hair, using your new favorite pet name. His slow thrusts picked up again while he kept his face next to yours. You held onto him for dear life as the tension inside you continued to build until your arched back signaled your release. Bucky kept pumping until the lasting effects of your orgasm sent him over the edge. Rather than stopping completely, he slowed down until the only movement was a twitch of pleasure every now and then. “Oh my god,” he whispered, peppering kisses on your shoulder. “I’m taking you to dinner.”
“Why?” you laughed.
“I’m sorry, darlin, are you turning down a free meal? Is it the company? Do you just use me for my body?” Bucky climbed off of you but you reached out for him; He stumbled as he fully ejected himself from the bed.
“Nonono, that’s not what I said!” you said, as you continued to laugh. “I’m just wondering...if that’s your way of paying me for my services,” you wiggled your eyebrows, a hint at your teasing. Bucky snapped a finger and pointed at you, putting on his own mock serious face.
“Hooker, I’m taking you to dinner because I want to.” Having cleaned himself up, Bucky tugged on his basketball shorts and a t-shirt he’d left in your dorm room the other day. The boy considered your floor his own personal closet. “We’ve stayed in, ordered food and watched movies and you’ve even helped me with my papers. You deserve to go out to an actual restaurant.”
“Okay, well, we should probably shower before we go out.”
“Oh, I agree but I can’t share that shower with you. It was too dangerous the first time. Never again.”
You picked up your towel and toiletries as Bucky sat in a bean bag chair on your floor. You tapped him on the nose.
“Never say never, Buck,” you said with a wink.

Once Bitten, Twice Stupid prt.77
“Keith, wait!”
Of course Shiro was following him now. Every time he left the room, someone had to come following after him. Stalking towards the gym, all Keith wanted to do was hit something until he felt better
“Leave me alone, Shiro!”
Calling back over his shoulder, Keith knew Shiro wouldn’t leave him alone... but his brother definitely should. He couldn’t believe Lance. He’d been fucking shot and still stuck up for Krolia. His mother didn’t care. If she did, she wouldn’t have hurt Lance or tested him to begin with. Miraculously finding the gym on the first try, Keith waited as the lights blinked on, for all the modern comforts, the lights were still the kind of fluoros that took a few seconds to get their shit together.
Walking over to the punching bags, he struck the first one he came to as hard as he could, relishing the moment of pain that came with not using gloves or wrapping his hands
“Keith...”
“Leave me alone. Right now I’m so angry I don’t know what the fuck I’m going to say”
Shiro sighed as he walked around to the opposite side of the punching bag. Keith punching it twice pretending it’d help
“If you’re going to practice, at least put gloves on”
“I don’t need to”
Jabbing the punching bag twice more, he really wished Shiro would let him vent his anger in peace. Instead his brother was standing there watching which was even more annoying
“Spit it out”
Throwing another few jabs, it wasn’t making him feel any better as Shiro finally said
“What?”
“You’re giving me that look and I don’t like it”
That look of brotherly advice coming his way
“First I’m going to say I don’t find Krolia pulling a gun on Lance funny. Secondly, I understand that you’re upset over it”
“Makes one fucking person. Lance is all like “talk to her”. Why should I when she hurt him?!”
“Because he was the one who was hurt”
Why didn’t they get it. He’d stood there, protected by Lance when he needed to be the one stepping up. He’d thought...
“She pulled a fucking gun. I thought... I thought he’d been shot for his wallet trying to protect me. That he was... I waited for the blood...”
Shiro stepped between Keith and the bag as Keith threw another punch of frustration. “Oofing” as he wound up punched in the side, Shiro winced as Keith was forced into a hug
“You’ve got a mean punch, kiddo”
“You’re the idiot who stepped into it”
“You needed a hug. Not to be punching this bag”
“I don’t need a hug. I need to clear my head. That’s why I left”
“You’re not mad at Lance for sticking up for you? You trying to get you and Krolia to talk?”
“Why would we talk when I’m not smart enough to make my own choices? She’s barely back an hour and she’s reminding me that I’m nothing”
Shiro hugged him tighter, kissing his hair as he did
“You’re not nothing. You’re not. You heard Coran. He’s proud of you. Lance is proud of you. Keith... you’re surrounded by people who care about you”
“But... she doesn’t”
Shiro kissed his hair again at Keith’s sad admittance
“She does. Lance was right. You two don’t know how to get past that first step. I’ve been telling you all along that she wants to know you”
“No. She just wants to make sure I’m not embarrassing her”
“That’s not true”
“It is! I left because I was angry, and you followed me. I upset Lance. Pidge and Hunk are both going to be laughing at me. The man with the mummy issues. Coran’s probably embarrassed...”
Everyone was always laughing at him. It didn’t matter how well he did, he needed to be more than he was.
“That’s not true. No one is laughing at you. Lance isn’t laughing at you. I’m not laughing at you. We care about you”
“Why?! God. He probably doesn’t want to see me. I hurt him...”
He’d hurt Lance’s busted arm more than once. What kind of a boyfriend did that?”
“And you’ll talk about it”
Keith noticed Shiro didn’t tell him he was wrong. He hadn’t meant to hurt Lance’s arm any further than it’d already been hurt. He hadn’t thought and Lance was hurt again because he couldn’t man up and control his temper
“We shouldn’t have to. I don’t... She’s barely back and I can’t cope with this. I don’t think we’ll ever be a family... I... for years I wanted to know why she left us. Who she was. If she ever thought about me. I used to dream she’d turn up with dad and it’d be all this nightmare. When I woke up I’d have a family who wanted me. Everyone... treats me like I’m... like I can’t handle it and when I try to take myself out of those situations, you can’t even let me work it out on my own”
“Keith. These are the things you should tell her. Sometimes you both remind me of kids. Trying to show off just to get each other to notice. She wants to be part of your life. She was right. The Blade is no place for a child, and she probably truly believes that you’d be safer there”
“She didn’t have the right to just decide to leave me behind! I had no one... I don’t know... why she couldn’t love me enough to stay...”
As Keith’s anger turned to sadness, Shiro rubbed his back
“You’re plenty loveable. She does love you. I know I’m repeating myself, but you do need to talk to her. The three of us could sit down. Or Lance could be with you if you felt like it? I’m not just saying that because you two need to work things out, there’s also the fact she seems to be staying for a while. If the Blades are conducting their investigation from here, you’re bound to wind up seeing her. Plus... you’re my little brother. I hate seeing you hate yourself so much for a life you couldn’t control. You were so precious to her that she left. You’re existence was so precious to her that she didn’t want you to grow up in constant danger from werewolves and vampires”
“We waited for her to come back... Dad waited for her... but she didn’t care enough”
“She couldn’t done back, because she cared”
Logical was no good. Keith didn’t want to hear reasonable and logical excuses. If he was a father, he wouldn’t want his children caught up in it all. He’d want Lance as safe as possible, meaning he’d leave work... He had no skills outside shooting and stabbing things, yet he’d just have to learn. He and Lance would move to some backwaters town like Garrison. Have a dog and and a cat. The house would be chaos on weekends. They’d complain about their friends the second they left but they’d both know how much they loved them. It’d be a quiet simple life, but he’d keep Lance safe and he wouldn’t just leave him.
He didn’t how Krolia didn’t know, unless she was deep undercover, but even then.. if she was so worried for them.... There were check-ins, people who could call or come by. Ways of knowing what was happening in their lives without Krolia coming close. Yet... he’d waited. He’d waited alone. He’d waited for his dad to come home. His big hand on Keith’s head as he ruffled his hair. Shiro had done it so many times Keith couldn’t be sure he wasn’t substituting his brother into the memory.
“I know you’re overthinking things and it’s hard right now, but it’s past time you two talked. This place isn’t like the Blades. You have time and space to talk. And I think you both really need to”
“It’s no good. Every time I look at her... I don’t feel enough”
“I know. You’re more than enough for me, kiddo. Now, what do you want to do?”
He didn’t know. He didn’t want to blow up at Lance. Lance might not want to see him... no... Lance always wanted to see him. He’d hug him, tell him he got it, then make him feel better. He always felt better with Lance
“Can... can you come see Lance with me? And everyone else? He’s probably trying to talk things out. I don’t know why I feel like a kid every time I see mum”
“Lance wants what’s best for you. You know he has a hard time with his family, and he has a hard time seeing you so upset with your mum. He only knows what he’s been told, but I can see he’s going to make an effort to get to know Krolia because he doesn’t want you hurting more than you already do. I really do think you need to talk. Like how we talked about Adam. I see how me not talking caused you so much pain now”
“He’s... he’s so stupid... but I like that. I like him so much. I don’t want her to come between us”
“I have the feeling she only wants you to be happy and safe, and that they’re on the same wave length there. Talk to him and see how you feel”
“I know how I feel. I feel stupid”
“You’re not. Now, we’ll go see if Lance is still with the others. I’m sure Pidge and Hunk understand too. You don’t have to keep fighting alone. I’ll always be on your side”
“I know...”
Keith’s hugged Shiro tightly. He had the best big brother. Even when he was angry at him, Shiro was there for him. No matter what.
*
Pidge and Hunk were leaving as they Shiro and Keith arrived back at the conference room. Both of them insisting on hugging him. Pidge whispering in his ear that they were always there if he wanted to talk. It was nice to have friends. Promising to message them, they parted at the elevator, Krolia also leaving when they did. Once they’d left, Curtis filled him in, letting him know Lance had seemed upset when he’d left. Shiro offered to come down to see Lance with him, Keith partly wanting to accept the offer, but he was a grown man. He really would look even more pathetic if he needed his brother to hold his hand when he was going to see his boyfriend.
Trailing a mood of anxiety behind him, Keith headed down to Lance’s room. Not completely sure he’d gotten the right room when his boyfriend didn’t yell out to come in. Opening he door, he nearly laughed in relied because he’d found the right room, yet the laughter died in his throat when he found Lance curled up on his bed as a bat, Blue making a pest of herself as she tried to paw at Lance. Letting himself in, Keith headed over to the bed, lifting Lance out of Blue’s grasp. She’d clawed his wings pretty bad... something Keith couldn’t help feel a little responsible for. Clinging to him, Lance squeaked softly, nosing into Keith’s neck affectionately. Making the hunter feel like a dick for leaving Lance alone because of his issues
“I’m sorry. I know she got to me. I know I can’t walk out every time I get angry and I know you were trying to help. I just... ugh. You weren’t supposed to be a bat. I wanted to apologise”
Lance squeaked at him, still nuzzling into Keith’s neck as he spread his wings, as if trying to cuddle him. Lance’s cuddles were the best... but right now, Keith just wanted to be held by Lance in his human form. He’d calmed down. He’d calmed down and wanted to ask Lance’s advice on how to deal with Krolia. It wasn’t as simple as shutting them in a room together until everything was magically sorted and they loved each other. For a starters, Keith knew he’d be angry if anyone tried to shut him in a room, with or without Krolia there. And once they were together, how did they talk? What did he say? Lance might be okay physically, other than a busted right arm until the blood healed that... but what about psychologically? He’d thought Keith was going to be shot. In no way, shape, or form, was that alright.
Sitting down on the bed, Blue tried to pretend she wasn’t sneaking over to have another go at getting Lance. Nudging his elbow, she then rubbed herself up Keith’s arm as she arched her back
“You’re not very sneaky. I know you’re after Lance, but you can’t have him. He’s not a scratching post or a chew toy”
Blue ignored him. Continuing to rub at Keith’s arm until he nudged her. Flopping down, Blue rolled on her back, acting innocent in the face of Keith’s gentle scolding. Lance squeaked, drawing his wings in as he tried to climb up Keith’s shirt
“You want in? So she can’t reach you?”
Keith took Lance’s squeaking to mean yes, pulling his shirt down, Lance clumsily crawled up and under the shirt, claws scratching as he squeaked his appreciation
“I don’t know what to do now. I don’t know what to about a lot of things. I think it’s too late for me and mum to... to talk. I didn’t know about the money... but what good was money? I still.... All I wanted was to... belong”
Lance squeaked softly, nuzzling him hard enough Keith had to lift his chin
“Okay. Okay. I don’t know what you’re saying but I guess you’re trying to tell me I do and you care. Do you want to come back to mine? Get out of this room?”
Lance squeaks reminded him that he had to let Shiro know if he was going to be bringing Lance home
“I’ll call Shiro and let him know. I think Blue’s going to try something the second I take my eyes off her. She’s already clawed you up”
Lance’s squeaks were clearly in her defence this time. Keith imagining he was saying that “Blus is a precious princess, with precious toe beans, who can do no wrong”
“She might be your baby, but you’re only little right now. For someone who keeps turning into a bat, you really need to work out how to fly. And work on turning back. You’d be cooler if you could fly”
Lance huffed at him. Keith supposing talking to Lance properly was now going to have to wait... Part of Keith wondered if Lance was turning into a bat simply because he knew he was too cute to be mad at when he was.

Torn Between Two
Starring: Angel Garza, Kenny Omega, Hangman Adam Page
Genre: Romance
Rating: 18+ (NSFW)
Summary: A young journalist trapped in a heavy decision between two. Will he choose or lose out?
Disclaimer: I do not own any characters in this. Just the story. Only a fanfiction.
Chapter 1: The Beginning
Bzzz....Bzzz....Bzzz!
The phone alarm echoed through out the bedroom. The radio also could be heard from the nightstand.
"GOOOOOOD MORNING L.A. It's your favorite radio host broadcasting during this nice seventy-five degrees seven A.M. morning..."
A hand reached over to turn off the small radio. A slight sigh came out the young man's mouth as he slowly opened his eyes with a slight yawn. He grabbed his phone and looked at the time.
7:08
"¿Las siete en punto? Llegó demasiado rápido...(Seven O'eight? It came too fast)" The younger man sat up and rubbed his face to wake him out of his sleep. He took a minute to adjust to the barely risen sunlight shining in his room. Doing a little stretching before climbing out his bed and headed to the bathroom to get his day started. After a morning brisk in the shower, the young man made up his bed and got ready for the day.
Seven thirty hit the clock and the young man grabbed his backpack, skateboard, keys, shades, wallet and headed out the door. Before he could leave, he heard a older voice.
"Oh, good morning Angel"
Angel stopped and turned towards a older woman who was alread watering some plants. Angel gave her a warm smile. "Buenos Dias, Mrs. Miller! Already getting to work I see."
The older woman chuckled. "You know the early, the better."
"I can agree with that." Angel said as he walked out the gate.
"Oh..Angel. If you're not busy later, I may need your help with some rearranging."
Angel nods. "You know I don't mind. Plus, if it's ok, this week will be my last time being late for rent. After I turn in this story, I can get that bonus."
The woman waved her hand to deflect the excuse. "Now you know Angel that I do not have any issues with you. You're a good, hard working kid. You have a good soul. I wouldn't dare destroy something so precious."
Angel smiled. "You're an amazing, Mrs. Miller." Angel stops and looks at his watch. "I gotta go, Mrs. Miller. I'll see you later."
"You be careful, Angel especially on that skateboard. And good luck on your story." Mrs. Miller waved at Angel.
Angel tossed down his skateboard and chuckled. "I'm as graceful as an swan on this board." Angel chuckled as he saw the older woman shook her head sarcastically. He put on his shades and rides his skateboard.
The good thing about being a on field journalist that Angel loved about is that he doesn't have to be cooped up in a building. The world us his office. As long as he had his laptop, anywhere can be his office. Plus, he loved riding his skateboard because not only he only a few blocks from the city, he doesn't have to worry about a car much. He has a car, but what is the fun in that? Angel smiles as he loved greeting people on his way to his favorite cafe to get his breakfast from and his favorite spot meeting up with his friends. It takes him at least ten minutes to reach the cafe if he doesn't stop at a random place. Angel stops at the bottom of some stairs. He steps off his board and picked it up before walking up the stairs. He looks around once ge reached the top and smiled at the group at the usual table he sits. He walks towards the table just to hear a on going conversation.
".....And then, she told me that I needed to gain more weight! Me need to grow weight? Just..just look at these guns!" The man flexed his arms.
The young woman sighed. "I swear Austin. I think you just saying this just to give you an excuse to lift more weights. I refuse to believe a woman telling you to gain more weight."
Austin mouth drops in shock. "You really think I would make this up?!" Austin watched the whole table giving him the Really? look. Austin crossed his arms and glared. "Well fuck you too, guys."
The others laughed as Angel walked up. "Austin telling one of his stories again, Zelina?" Angel sat down at looked at his friends Austin Theory, Andrade Cien Almas, Zelina Vega, Aleister Black and his cousin Humberto Carrillo.
Zelina rolled her eyes and looked at Angel. "Of course. But then, what's new?"
Austin shot dagger looks at Zelina. Humberto passed a coffee cup and a wrapped sandwich towards Angel. "Buenos días, primo. El desayuno esta servido. (Good Morning, cousin. Breakfast is served)"
Angel took his breakfast and nods towards Humberto. "Muchas gracias, primo. (Thank you so much, cousin)" Angel unwrapped his sandwich and started eating.
"So, today is the big day. When you turn in your story-"
"And get that big well earned bonus that they should've been gave to you" Andrade said to follow up Humberto.
Angel took a sip of his coffee and shrugs. "Well, it's better late then never for them to finally see the hard work I put into those stories. I rather have it this way then throwing a fit and have them pulling my stories to the side." Angel said as he pulled out his laptop and booting it up.
"Well you're doing the smart way, love" Zelina said as she sipped ger coffee. "Destroy them with your best work."
Aleister turned towards his wife and raised an eyebrow. "Destroy them?"
Zelina looked at Aleister. "I've said what I said."
Angel laughed and Austin looked over to Angel's laptop. "What's your story anyways?"
"It's an interview and a story about local athlete who is the only athlete from his family and became a local hero."
"Oh well if you wanted to interview a pure breed athlete, you should had asked to interview me!" Austin said with a proud smile.
The rest if the table looked towards Austin with silence. "The fact that he actually believes his own words, baffles me." Zelina said. "Austin, just because you competed in two bodybuilding competitions doesn't make you a local hero. Tell me what have you done after that? Opened a gym? Wow, you're doing so much for the people." Zelina said with heavy sarcasm.
"Hey without me opening the gym, who else could get people to get fit?" Austin asked.
Zelina facepalms as Humberto and Andrade drunk their coffees awkwardly. Aleister pats Austin's shoulder. "Dude, just never change."
Angel chuckled as Austin's face showed his confusion. Angel typed in a few things and nods. "Done! All I have to do is print and turn it in." Angel downloaded his work on his USB.
Zelina looked at her watch. "Oh...it's time to head out." Zelina stood up. The others also stood up. Zelina smiled at Angel. "Ok sweetie. Wishing you all the luck with your story."
"Oh, I know for sure my cousin is going to bring it home." Humberto said.
"Do we have any doubt about this?" Andrade said. "They won't have any other choice but to love it."
Angel smiled. "Thank you. I need the hype."
"It's not a hype if it's true!" Austin said. "But, if things are different, you can always interview me. I'm free-"
Aleister cuts Austin off by pushing him away. "Give it up, Austin." Aleister turned to Angel. "You got this. Good luck."
Zelina bends down to give Angel a quick hug. "Good luck."
Angel returned the hug and watch his friends leave. He took a huge inhale and did a quick proofread before getting it printed. Good thing there is a library that us close to him. Getting his work printed out, Angel headed to his office building. It wasn't too far from he was, so he decided to take his time. He walked past a newsstand and caught a magazine with one if his work mentioned. Angel took the time to bask in his hard work and enjoyed the moment. He nods and turned to walk right into a solid body.
"OOF!"
Angel gasped as he quickly went to check on the person he bumped into. "Oh god! I'm so sorry about that! I didn't look...my mistake."
"No..it's ok." The man looked at Angel. He took off his shades to get a real good look at Angel. He smiled at the younger man. "It's more than ok."
Angel looked up at the blue eyed blonde man. He was nicely well built and tall. Angel nods softly. "I really didn't mean it."
The man shook his head. "No need to apologize. I'm glad you did bumped into me."
Angel raised his eyebrow and laughed. "Oh? Then well I'm glad to had bumped into you."
The man smiled. "You're in a hurry?"
"Oh uh yeah. Got to get to my work building. Gotta drop something off." Angel smiled
"Well, don't let me hold you up." The man stepped aside.
Angel watched the man step to the side. Angel smiled and started walking. "Thank you. Sorry again."
The man watched Angel walked and said "I hope we bump into each other again soon."
Angel stops and smiled as he turned to the man. "Maybe, maybe not."
"Well if not...my name us Kenny Omega. I really hope I do see you again."
Angel nods. "Nice to meet you Kenny. I'm Angel Garza." Angel turned back around to walk away with a small smile on his face.
Kenny kept watching Angel walk away, until a dawn of realization hits Kenny. He turned to the magazine that Angel was looking at. Kenny saw Angel's name on the cover as the author. Kenny looked up towards where Angel walked and smiled.
Angel reached his designation and dropped off his work and went home.
The next morning.
Angel was at the table with his normal morning crew. Zelina looked towards Angel with a smile. "Well?"
Angel bit his bagel and looked at Zelina and shrugs. He swallowed before answering. "I won't know until this afternoon."
Andrade nods. "I got a good feeling here."
Aleister nods in agreement. "Same here."
The rest of the table agreed. "Same three?" Austin said. Everybody laughed at Austin and didn't hear the door opening. Kenny walked out with his coffee and stops as he sees Angel. He smiled as he walked up to the table.
"We really need to stop meeting up like this."
Angel stopped laughing and looked up to Kenny. He smiled back at him. "I mean, you wanted it like this anyways."
Kenny chuckled. "Yeah. I did."
Kenny and Angel shared a quiet smile together as the others looked on. Zelina eyed both Angel and Kenny with a smirk before clearing her throat. "And who is this we're honored to meet?"
Angel snapped out of his moment and chuckled. "Sorry. Kenny meet my peoples. My good friends Zelina, her husband Aleister, Andrade, Austin and my cousin Humberto. Guys, this is Kenny."
Kenny smiles and nods at the group. "Nice to meet you all."
Everybody waved but Austin who just stared at Kenny. "Damn, you're hot!"
"Uh excuse me?"
Zelina stomps on Austin's foot under the table. She smiled after she heard a satisfying yelp from Austin. "Don't mind him. Too much caffeine in the morning." She said to Kenny.
Kenny nods. "Understandable." He turns to Angel. "So, since I bumped into you again, I was wondering if you're free for lunch if you're nit too busy. My treat of course."
Before Angel could respond. "Of course he's free! And so am--OW!" Austin felt Zelina's boot hit against his shin.
Angel shook his head in embarrassment then looked at Kenny with a smile. "Um..yeah. I'm free."
Kenny smiled. "Great. I'll meet you at Rose's Bistro say around two pm?"
"Perfect."
Kenny slip on his shades and smiled. "See you then, Angel." He waved at everybody else. "Nice to meet you all."
"You too!" The whole table said as they watched Kenny leave.
"See ya." Angel watched Kenny leave.
"And where did this happened?!"
Angel heard as ge turned to his friends. They all talked at once about who was Kenny and how they met. Angel sighed with a smile and got himself ready to explain. Two pm rolled around not as fast as Angel wanted. Not after Kenny left, Zelina and Austin kept asking Angel questions while Humberto kept threatening to hurt Kenny if Kenny harms Angel. Angel had to get away, so he arrived at Rose's Bistro. It was a nice little bistro for people come for lunch. Angel grabbed his skateboard and walked in. He looked around and saw Kenny sitting at a table by the window. Angel walked over with a smile.
"Sorry if I'm late." Angel said as he sat down.
Kenny smiled and shook his head. "Right on time actually. I just got in myself. I had a meeting that took a little extra time."
"And I want to apologize earlier about my friend. He doesn't think before he speaks apparently." Angel said with a hint if embarrassment.
Kenny shook his head. "No worries. I used to have a friend like that. So, I understand. Besides, he's not the one I'm interested in anyways."
Angel blushed and Kenny smiled at Angel's blushing.
Kenny said as he eyed Angel's skateboard. "Sweet skateboard. You go around with that?"
Angel looked at his board. "Uh, yeah I do."
Kenny frowned in confusion. "Don't you have a car?"
"Actually, I do. But, I rather take my skateboard. I don't live too far from the city. So, I rather not waste gas and pollute the air just for a few blocks. Plus, I feel more free while feeling the wind riding." Angel looked at Kenny. "Is that an issue?"
Kenny shook his head. "Nah. I more impressed. I used to skateboard in my teens. I'm more of a biker now."
Angel smiled. "Motor or a cyclist?"
"Both." Kenny smiled.
The waitress brought two glasses of waters and introduced herself. Kenny asked for more time as he looked at Angel.
Angel looked back at Kenny and smiled. "So, you said your meeting took too long?"
Kenny smiled. "Yeah. Pretty much."
"So what do you do anyways?"
Kenny smiled. "I work at a law firm. A lawyer."
"Oh? You don't strike me as one." Angel looked at Kenny's outfit. T-shirt and jeans. He doesn't look like a lawyer.
"Maybe or maybe not I like to be comfortable." Kenny joked.
"Alright. I get that." Angel said. "What law firm you work at?"
"Some law firm called Omega Law Offices"
"Omega Law...wait.." It dawned on Angel. He is sitting with the owner. "You're thee Kenny Omega. The owner!" Angel said as his mouth opened in shock.
Kenny raised his hands in defense. "Oops. I'm busted." Kenny laughed.
"No way! You won that Cody Runnels case. Your reputation is well known around here. Everybody says you're the best to go for a lawsuit."
Kenny chuckled. "They're overrating. I'm just doing my job."
"And very well you do at it." Angel said.
Kenny smiled at the compliment. He cleared his throat. "So, did you get whatever you dropped of yesterday to your job on time?"
Angel nods. "Ah, I did. Thanks for asking."
Kenny grinned. "I bet it was another groundbreaking story."
Angel looked puzzled. "Huh?"
Kenny reached into his bag and pulled out the magazine that Angel was looking at yesterday and sat it on the table. Angel looked at it and laughed.
"So you're saying my reputation is well known. You, your reputation proceeds you. I was captivating by your work. So inspiring and excels."
Angel blushed again. "You're just saying that..."
Kenny smiled softly. "Am I?"
Angel looked at Kenny and got speechless. Kenny smiled again. "So, was that another award winning article?"
"I hope so. If not then..it is what it is."
Kenny sighed. "You should have better hope than that. I'm sure it was another front cover masterpiece."
Angel was about to respond until his phone rings. Angel quickly answered. "Hello?"
"Hey Angel, it's Travis!"
"Hey Travis. What's up?"
"You know what's up. This article."
Angel looked at Kenny who was watching Angel. "Uh yeah. What is it?"
"Angel, once again my man. You. Brought. It! Best read I ever read since your last work. How do you ever do it?"
Angel smiled. "You know. Hard work and dedication. My bread and butter."
"Well, if you keep this up, I maybe trying to find some room in this chief office real soon."
"Yeah, but I enjoy the on field work. More peaceful no offense."
Travis laughs. "None taken. Just letting you know that once again, your story will be front page and I know you'll enjoy your sweet, sweet bonus too!"
Angel laughed. "I just might."
"Anyways, congratulations! I can't wait for your next project!"
"Thanks Travis. See ya!" Angel hung up the phone.
Kenny, who was in suspense, looking at Angel. "Well?"
Angel smiled at Kenny. "You were right. I got it."
Kenny slammed onto the table and clapped. "See! I knew you would land it! Congrats, Angel."
Angel laughed. "Thank you Kenny!"
Kenny raised his water glass. "To Angel. And to his hard work and...a start of a beautiful relationship."
Angel raised his glass and taps Kenny's glass. "Cheers!"
Kenny and Angel sipped sone water and laughed as they enjoyed their lunch.
