tumblr in reddit terms

blogs: personal subreddits where the theme/topic is 99% of the time just “me and whatever the hell i feel like at the moment”. for reference, the most common other theme rn is “wizard roleplay that never breaks character”

reblogs: crossposts. these are crucial to maintaining tumblr’s ecosystem. due to blogs generally having fewer followers than subreddits have subscribers, this is the way that posts get seen and passed around. the vast majority of posts on a person’s blog tend to be reblogs, so if the people you follow dont reblog a whole lot, your dashboard is gonna be a ghost town. post limit (combined total of reblogs and original posts per day) is 250, so feel free to go hog wild

tags: this one is complicated. theyre a combination of flairs and Comments But Low-key. you can use them for organization and to avoid seeing content you dont want to (go to your blog, settings, account settings, content you see, and then add tags you want tumblr to warn you about before seeing it). if op tags the post #reddit (in the tags, not the body of the post), itll show up in the #reddit tag when anyone searches that tag. tags are also used for comments that dont really add anything to the post. you know how a jpeg gets kinda gross when its been through a million screenshots and has ifunny watermarks and shit? thats what adding “lmao same” as a comment does to a post. comments stay on reblogs, while tags show up in 4 places: op’s notifications, the notifs of whoever you reblogged it from, when someone clicks on the “notes” button of a post and actively looks for the tags left on it, and when people view your specific reblog of the post (like a follower would on their dashboard)

likes: upvotes but weaker. almost everyone turns off all the algorithms (settings, account settings, dashboard preferences, toggle off the first 3 options. also, make sure your dashboard is on "following" and not "for you". this is highly recommended), so leaving a like doesnt boost the post in any way. they still matter to some people. you can also use them to bookmark a post and go back to your likes later

enthusiastic and/or hyperbolic tags: reddit gold. you wanna let op know you like their art? leave something like ”#printing this out and stapling it to my forehead #op you wanna get married?” in the tags

pornbots: both reddit and tumblr have an issue with them. we block and report them on sight. they usually have hot women as their icons, no posts or reblogs, and a description like “22, brazil, nurse <3″. try to not look like that if you dont wanna get blocked by everyone you follow

blocking: you have this as well, but it seems like a bigger deal on reddit. the reason we are not twitter is because we block bitches who annoy us and move on with our day. do not feed the trolls

things we dont have:

karma: clout-chasing is The Most embarrassing thing you can possibly do on this site. we are all in this circus together and the clown who gets the most laughs is still a clown. popular users will literally deactivate sometimes because clout is a burden. no one here makes money

Okay tumblr lets talk theories again.

(my brain rot + knowledge of religion has me all up in Hazbin Hotel right now.)

Today I want to talk Biology! Mostly because I made the poor choice of going to Twitter's chaggie tag and looking at the comments...

So can we discuss Why do so many people keep trying to apply HUMAN biology to the Half-Demon Nephillim daughter of an Arch-Angel?!

Okay I'll start at the begining and work my way to the reasons why if Charlie really wants a kid with Vaggie both of them being assigned female at creation probably isn't going to matter.

Let's start with Lucifer!

So as far as has been shown in the show Lucifer is an original Archangel even down to his lovely 6 red wings. This makes him one of the most powerful beings in heaven.

(If we go by bible text he was actually a favorite until his dreams of free will led him astray and depending on the text he merely has to admit he was wrong and ask for forgiveness to return)

Now looking at everything after this fall he has never lost his Angelic Abilities. His default powers are still angelic gold.

We do see he also has a Full Demon form when he is pissed. Interestingly enough his crown also doubles as a halo in this form. Also note for later just how much Charlie resembles him in both forms.

This suggest that at root biology Lucifer is still an archangel with demon traits. This combination is most likely what makes him the strongest being in hell by a long shot. The only reason others even have power is purely because he doesnt care enough to flex his power and has no desire to actually rule.

Now on to Lilith!

What do we know about Lilith?

Well we know she was a created human not born.

She was Adam's equal

And she left and got with Lucifer before the fall.

So here is the deal... I dont think Lilith can be classified as a sinner. She didnt die to end up in hell and in fact she fell before hell was really a thing. she helped create it after all. (Plus you know Charlie exsists)

So what IS Lilith? I think Lilith as one of a few Actual Demons. And if we have to classify her she'd be closer to a Sin. I actually think of Lilith as the Sin of Pride in Hazbin Hotel not Lucifer. We are even told that She created pentagram city and developed hell while lucifer kept to his workshop in depression.

Now let's talk about this scene for a second. Lilith fell from heaven/earth Alive and possibly even immortal since human kind was immortal before Eve took the apple.

Lilith gains power from her fall into hell. She develops demon like attributes and seems to have musical based magic. She also seems to retain or get immortality. So what does this fall mean? It means that Lilith was NOT HUMAN by the time Charlie was born.

So what does this mean for Charlie?

Well for one Charlie is NOT just some Hellborn. She is by Definition a Nephilim but she is not half-human. She would most likely be considered a Half-Demon, Half-Angel Nephilim.

This would explain her expansive (if never used) power base. The official power ranking has her tied with Lilith with only Lucifer being more powerful. Which makes complete sense. She is the Heir to the entire thing after all. (I actually think this is why Alastor couldnt make a deal for her soul and settled for a favor instead)

She also inheirited Angelic powers from her father. As seen by the fact that her default magic is gold. Which means she has angel blood in her veins. Lets be honest i wouldnt be surprised if she ended up bleeding gold in the future.

In fact she seems to have inherited most of her abilities from dear old dad.

Im pretty sure that just by shear ability and magic if Charlie wanted a kid she could probably create/magic one into exsistance no matter who her partner was.

But lets review Vaggie just for fun! Because I have thoughts

What do we actually know about Vaggie?

Well we know she is an angel. I say is because I dont think Lute or Adam actually have the power to cast an angel out of heaven AND she gets her wings back. This would mean she is not actually a sinner she would be closer to a fallen angel like lucifer.

We know she speaks Spanish and seems to be of Hispanic nature. BUT! Do we know if she was ever really human?!

We know Adam claims to have named her Vaggie. This could suggest three things

1) exorcist take on a new name when they join. But if this was true why wouldnt she leave this name behind and return to her human name once in hell? It would have kept her secret better and you'd figure she would want to leave behind the negative feelings that would come with her exorcist name.

2) Adam in his self-centered ways misheard her real name (maybe something like Aggie from Agatha or Maggie) and thought she said Vaggie or actively chose to misinterpret her name and she never cared to correct him. BUT Once more why would she not just return to her real name once with Charlie in hell?

Or 3) And this one is the real kicker. Vaggie is a Heaven-born Angel.

If the answer is 3 than it would imply that she was never human which brings her closer to lucifers biology.

Some other interesting things to consider about this last theory. Lute and Vaggie resemble each other a great deal. In fact, all the exorcist seem to have a similar body type. (I mean you could argue its the uniform but even without the uniform the resembalance between lute and vaggie is uncanny) and if I remember correctly at one point the exterminators are refered to as sister? I mean this could mean sisters-in-arms BUT What if ALL exorcist were heaven-born?

If they were never human this could explain both their ability and their desire to slay sinners. Much like Sera they wouldn't have any sympathy for the dammed because they wouldn't have any possible family that could end up down there. They would also have Very little connection to or concern for former humans. After all like Adam said they had their chance and they screwed up.

So in the end what does this all mean?

Well I actually already kind of said it

1) Fandom really needs to stop applying human biology to Charlie. She is a half demon half archangel Nephilim with incredible magic.

If charlie wants a kid she can probably magic one up no matter the obsticles please stop asking artist and writers how it is possible for her and vaggie to have a kid/get pregnant if they are both women - the answer is Charlie Magic.

2) all 4 of the above have the potential to be way stronger than they have been shown in the show.

And

3) Charlie is a potential BadAss and is just too nice to go full tactical nuke - this will be covered in my next ted talk.

this one starts off as human!alastor/lucifer but by the middle(?) its just regular radioapple. basically al is encountered by luci while finishing off a job who agrees to keep quiet. luci just keeps on showing up, reveals hes the devil to which al us just like "lol ok" and eventually they get in a relationship (ooh lala 👀) but they break up after saying some hurtful things to each other (oh nono 👀) with luci promising al they will never cross paths again. if you watched the show then well. you know that doesnt happen ���� most human!al radioapple have al summon him (no hate to them) so this was an interesting change of pace

cannot stress it enough but this is a WORKING list i WILL be coming back to it bc these are purely the fics i could think if off the top of my head. IN FACT, if any of you have radioapple fics you love, SEND THEM THE FUCK IN! i am one person whos only been in this fandom for 4 months, and reading fics/shipping radioapple even less, theres bound to be some ones i missed that you think are Worthy™️! and if theyre nsfw then at the very least it shouldnt be the main focus

robin catching feelings

so someone sent me an ask but tumblr glitched and I can't find it but here's a little headcannon/my thought process on it:

already set that birdy had a small crush in ep 1 so what if robin did too? 

but what if he’s not fully aware until later, developing his feelings throughout all the things that are happening

but like more to come on the kernel of his crush from when they first met...

HERE'S WHY

chapter 6 (infiltrated)

Robin had some interesting feelings about wally and birdy’s kiss

Maybe he's not exactly sure why— just that it bothered him, and he kind of leaves the emoting alone for a bit. bc he does like her but mb he doesnt realize how much he likes her…. yet.

wally on the other hand notices the slightest hints of jealousy and will be supporting the information away for later

chapters 9 (bereft) and 11 (terrors)

so, in episode 9, they had the brain blast amnesia, and Kaldur got super sick. 

Robin was all jealous. Which is something he had to come to terms with it, especially because ain't no way Wally would let him go. 

So maybe wally presses on it a little bit and Robin gets defensive, so he decides to let it go… for now…

But after 11, when Robin and Birdy had their little moment on the sofa, he brings it up again because now he knows some things. 

That was when birdy did her reveal to him, so maybe he's like maybe… I…. am… into…. her...

also he called her beautiful… sooooo

so at this point homeboy knows he has a crush, but he's not exactly down bad

chapters 14 (revelations) & 15 (humanity)

so based off what was said just before, this is why 14 and 15 have such a big role. 14 gives us birdy’s big chance with Dr. fate. 

I mean the boys almost lost her, and that drives home for him because holy shit I could've lost her. 

so now he’s thinking about it…

he does not like the feeling he gets because he's lost plenty of people in his life already. 

And then in 15, right? Enter Z? It's common knowledge that zatanna’s pretty and she seems to have a little minor crush on him too 

because she's flirting with him, but maybe this is the distraction he needs because he doesn't want to fall for birdy. i mean look at B right? he doesn't have attachments bc they only end up in pain, and with all rob’s already lost he's not trying to make new ones.

which is why he's so dumb and flirts w zatanna— to keep his mind of birdy

which puts us at chapter 16 (failsafe) - when birdy reveals how she feels, outright and clearly

and his distraction tactic goes out the window bc fuck birdy is pretty and smart and tough and oh fuck. oh shit. this is more than just a crush

general tumblr etiquette

tag your stuff, they wont be seen otherwise.

do not crosstag (tag a group youre complaining about), or tag unrelated stuff

reblog, reblog, reblog! if you see a post that interests you, reblog! this is super important as there is no algorithm and all the like button does is basically save the post for later

tag triggering things!! [thing] tw or [thing] cw should suffice, dont tag every possible version of a trigger, you only have 30 tag slots, it's the reader's responsibility to block all possible tags as theres no limit on blocked tags. I suggest trigger tagging after the 20th tag as tags after the 20th one dont show up on search (stupid I know) but still gets blocked okay

get a profile photo as soon as possible, this site has a massive bot problem and if youre thought to be one you will be blocked without hesitation

if youre on pc, I highly recommend you get xkit, its a browser extension that helps a lot with your tumblr experience

these are the basics, these have been talked about over and over with twitter refugees as well so I wont drabble on them too much

mogaiblr etiquette

1: keep in mind the intersectionality

the mogai tumblr community has a lot of overlap with other communities, namely the disabled community, nonhuman community and plural community. respect them, and listen to them, for they are your allies. you will see the overlapping community get referred to as "LIOM" a lot (like in my username), it stands for labels, identities and other minorities and is meant to be an all encompassing umbrella.

2: make your posts accessible

as I just said, theres a lot of disabled people in this community, so its important to make your posts as accessible as possible. I will talk more on this later

3: dont be afraid to ask individual blogs

there is no subreddit posting system, and if you just post a general question you likely wont get any answers, if you get seen at all, so dont shy away from asking individual blogs about stuff, if their asks are open, it means they WANT you to talk with them and ask them stuff, so never view it as bothering them. the askbox doesnt always say "asks" and similar stuff though due to being customizable, so just know its the little button to the left of the follow button.

4: check pinned posts

pinned posts are posts that are pinned on top of a persons blog, when you open someones blog, theyll be the first post to be seen upon scrolling down. a lot of people use these to introduce themselves, set boundaries, give request rules, talk about availability, etc. so its important to read these through whenever possible.

1: image descriptions!!!

its basically where you describe the image, as the name suggests, tumblr has an alt. text function for it but it doesnt always work so little [boxes like this] right under the image is ideal for most, yes it makes it look less pretty, but is your aesthetic worth more than someone whos visually impaired not being able to understand the post? trust me no one cares if your posts are pretty or not. anyway, the ideal way to know how to describe an image is pretend youre explaining it out loud to someone across from you, who cant look at your screen for whatever reason.

2: plain text!

yes, tumblr has a lot of cool text features (like bold or italic, or even colored [PT: like bold, italic, or even colored. end PT]) but this is, again, unfortunately inaccessible, due to tumblr being a broken website it often doesnt register formatted text for screenreaders, plus it can be hard to navigate for people with disabilities even without a visual disability. this goes for fancy text and symbols as well (like stars emoticons or a cursive text font). so you have two options, offer a plain text alternative or dont format text at all. offering plain text can be done in the same way as image IDs (theres even an example above).

3: eyestrain

bright colors are awesome, trust me, Id know, but not everyone can view them properly without a migraine or even worse, a seizure. so its important to tag your posts with eyestrain if you decide to make a brightly colored flag, or even better, do your best to make the flag accessible instead, with slightly duller colors with more (or less depending on the flag) contrast. it doesnt make your flag as ugly as youd think, trust me ^^

4: availability cant do one or more of the things mentioned above for any reasons? dont fret! theres blogs out there that can help you, most of them do this out on their own accord.

9:57 pm : Second interaction with alphabet code entity who says “stop talking to him you're giving him a headache”. Turnon complains about a headache. This is the first signs of a decline in his health. In the next post he says that hes going to go.

10:04 pm : Addon has been translating bits of the morse code for a bit now. The forth analysis ends up being corrupted, and all the characters are just black blocks. 

APR 21 :

9:26 am : First post says that he got a nosebleed and passed out on his desk the previous night. He also mentions that when he woke up there was a cup of tea on his desk which he presumes is from addon but it was never confirmed.

10:59 am : Mentions that the strange people are back (mentioned in the poll) and that hes getting a nosebleed. Mentions in the next post that he feel really dizzy and is going back to his desk

11:34 am : Turnon describes a building pressure in his head like bugs. 

11:50 am : Turnon says that the nosebleed stopped. Alphabet entity gets accused of being slick. It ignores the question and instead tells us to leave turnon alone as he’s stressed with work.

12:00 noon : This post from maskon? Not sure the relevance of the song. definitely creepy tho.

6:14 pm : Here addon confirms that turnon is in the medbay. This is later contradicted by addon himself.

6:14 pm : “turnon” says that he woke up and has no idea where he is. At 6:23 he tags addon for help.

6:19 pm : Addon says that he opened a zipped file and it shut down his pc. This is presumably what causes the medical documents to get leaked.

6:29 pm : “Turnon” says that he knows where he is and isn't happy about it. What??

6:52 pm : A few posts later “turnon” tells addon that he got hurt really badly. He says hes going to try to walk home against addons advice.

7:42 pm : Something happens and “turnon” starts making disturbing posts. They are in english but don’t have spaces. He seems frantic and scared and at 7:54 pm he doesnt respond to his own name, despite the fact that he mentions his goggles and crypton, which are obviously things that are unique to him. 

7:50 pm : Addon responds to the first spaceless post and comments on how turnon couldn't be making the posts as he is unconscious in medbay 

8:03 pm : When not-turnon is questioned on his name he says it is presson and seems confused. He says he found the phone in queens palace (if he is telling the truth, it would make sense why turnon was unhappy about where he was. Obviously he fell into the acid lake in queens mansion so its unsurprising that he would be on edge.)

8:20pm : Presson denies that it was him who typed the weird spaceless posts. 

9:34 pm - 9:59 pm : Presson comments on how dark and run down seraphim is. When questioned on it addon says its probably something interdimensional or timeline based. At this point, his text starts glitching out. Addon tells presson to put the phone in the big machine, but presson says that it looks dangerous and he doesn't want to. He seems genuinely worried about dying, but addon insists he returns the phone. Finally, he puts it in the machine and you are no longer able to contact presson.

10:52 pm : when questioned on the weird glitchy text, he again chalks it up to interdimensional lag

If we go by addons version of events (which he talked about a few days later on the 24th) at about 6-7pm turnon went out and got badly injured. At about 8 pm some kind of entity (presson) took his phone, who addon electrocuted. At about 9 pm Turnon was found in an alleyway with some kind of black fluid gushing out of his nose. 

APR 22 :

8:28 pm : The first leak of Turnons medical documents. 

9:07 pm - 9:53 pm : this whole saga. An asker accuses Addon of experimenting on turnon and Addon denies it. Id recommend reading it.

11:04 am : Turnon wakes up!! In a bad state but alive :3 also at 11:08 am he says that hes missing a few parts

4:08 pm : turnon is told about the (made up) debt issues

4:37 pm : turnon is shown his medical document. At 4:57 pm hes told not to tell addon about it.

5:24 pm : Turnon is told about presson. He also says that his last phone is blown up.

10:30 pm : Turnon makes a post asking how long is legs are supposed to be numb, and asking why his fingers are turning black. Click reblogs the post and says that hes coming over. After that turnon starts typing his posts really,,, bad,, theres no better way to describe it. After a minute Surf (ambyu-lance) takes the phone and click demands to speak to him and addon

APR 25 : 

6:57 pm : the third medical document leaked. This hasn't been decoded yet, but the first bit seems to be in nihilistic cipher. IMPORTANT : instead of having Patient 25 : Turnon.G. Addison at the top, it has Patient 24 : Crimson.K.Addison. This means that there could’ve been other addisons that Slick infected.

8:16 pm : Turnon makes a post, a picture he drew of himself with the caption “im a little sad, i'll get better”. When questioned on it he says that hes not used to the feeling of being useless.

9:15 pm - 9:37 pm : Clickon is questioned on whether he talked to Surf and Addon. He says that he did, and no one is completely sure whats up with Turnon. Clickon says that Turnons condition is worsening. Hes paler than usual, his fingers are black, and Clickon accidentally pulled out a clump of his hair. Click says that Turnon is a survivor, but even this makes him worried. After this, Addon reblogs the post saying that he didn't talk to clickon last night and theres no footage of Click entering the building. Click is obviously confused, to which Addon tells click to wake up and to stop living in his fantasies. After this Clickon says he feels weird.

9:20 pm : cool lil drawing. Not really relevant but i thought it was neat lol

9:35 pm : TURNON STANDS!!!! He mentions that his legs are black and hurt like hell but hes standing!! (at 9:53 pm he falls over D:)

9:37 pm : Click makes a post that simply reads “Somethings wrong.”

9:57 pm : When questioned if he's ok, clickon replies saying he never made it, before a wall of binary. It reads “Everything feels stuffy, Shadows I'm in my car, I think I'm being watched”. At 10:02 pm Addon reblogs the post saying “get out. Now.” before a string of numbers that haven't been decoded. At 10:09 pm Clickon reblogs the post again with another binary code, this time reading “I don't know where I'm going, My eyes, My eyes, I can barely see, Is it following me”

10:15 pm : Maskon makes some kind of post about Cotton candy. It translates to “i do like cotton candy dont you?”

10:23 pm : someone asks maskon / slick if he did anything to Clickon. Slick said he didn't want yellow to hang out with someone like that, but he deserves his freedom.

10:40 pm : Clickon makes a post in binary. It reads “The stars are beautiful tonight, The stars are beautiful tonight, The stars are beautiful tonight, The stars"

APR 26 : 

7:35 am : Ice cream blog opened

2:07 pm : The runner of the Ice cream blog says that he uses the alias pinup (but for some reason, he can't disclose his real name. Could be for privacy reasons though.)

2:32 pm : Pinup gets a coat!! He comments on how it doesn’t have a tag for some reason

5:12 pm : Pinup mentions addon. He says that he sees addon as a friend but he isnt sure if addon feels the same.

3:39 pm : Clickon mentions he just woke up in the woods with a massive headache. He doesn't know how he got there. 

3:42 pm - 4:26 pm : Complaining about various things. He mentions having frozen joints, so he probably slept in the woods all night. He says “at least hes alive” which means he probably thought he was genuinely going to die (or hes just being dramatic)

4:33 pm - 10:11 pm : lots of things happen in this thread. Firstly, Clickon says that it was him making the posts in binary. He says he vaguely remembers typing something out on his phone, and that he was very scared. The first two are relatively self explanatory, he was scared. The third one he said he remembered looking up at the stars. He describes everything feeling trippy and disorientating as he was running, and feeling like he was being chased. He ends up being told all about Slick and all that. He isnt actually too surprised?? He says that he is nearing the city and he can see buildings in the distance. Anyways Important Shit Happened Go read it

11:38 pm : Its confirmed that the reason why Turnon didn't post anything is because addon took away his phone.

APR 27 : 

6:37 pm : Clickon updates us saying he got back to the city and after a rough night and is driving to seraphim, presumably to check on turnon

6:44 pm : Turnon makes a post saying hes going to walk home and addon doesnt know. At about 6:55 pm he passes out in the middle of the road. At this point he is disoriented from the pain medication and thinks he is back home.

6:58 pm : Clickon finds addon in the road and mistakes him for roadkill. By 7:04 pm turnon is in his car and they were going back to seraphim. At 7:14 pm he says that turnon is speaking gibberish. 

7:15 pm : Addon says a taskforce has already been sent out to try find turnon

7:29 pm : no matter what turnip says, addon finds out that clickon has turnon and sends out a bunch of shit to stop him, presumably not realising that he has good intentions.

7:36 pm : Clickon gets fucking SHOT !! 2 mins later turnon also presumably gets shot. NICE!! Later addon confirms it was a tranquiliser dart.

7:51 pm : at this point both clickon and turnon have been captured. Addon refers to them as ”two ominous individuals” at 8:04 pm Addon reports that they have been hooked up to an experimental piece of darkner equipment that hurts them when they move. 

8:19 pm : Clickon makes a post saying he doesn't want to die. Addon replied a few minutes later with what is essentially a threat (8:22 pm) and at 8:28 pm he ends up confirming that he knows about Slick

Being on tumblr makes me wanna feel more homely and less professional and then I suddenly remember I can just like,, lore dump anytime I want and post out of a time schedule just like back in 2014. Anyways someone on Deviant Art asked about Elijah! So ill be chatting about him in this moment. Cant say today because LMAO Ill probably be back on here later talking about another oc.

I dont really talk about him as much as I should and I have very few content of him in it. Truth is I purposely dont really expand on him as much as to try and bend/taint his character that I fleshed out for him to be. Its something that happens quite often when I try to dive too deep and I find that by a fault a lot of my characters end up feeling the same-- to me at least. So its a preventative measure.  Here IS what i have about him though: Elijah Alan Spence, Agent Spence, Code name Black Rabbit, or for some: Eli!  He’s an elite agent that has worked his way up through T.K.E.A ranks (ill make a t.k.e.a thing later just check lore tag or somn before I actually decide to learn how to structure my text posts). Although he’s an elite agent dont think that his views align with what T.K.E.A is doing. Hes mostly a ‘good’ guy wrapped up in bad things type deal since I love doing that for some reason.  The initial belief was that he could work his way up and change it that way but its clear that because of him being brought into the agency as only an agent that there was a dead end when it comes to working yourself up to more ceo levels. The highest you can go would be what he is; an elite.  When he realized that was also when he realized that T.K.E.A basically silences any defective agents so there was no way to change things without getting himself murdered. So he was put in a space where he had to continue his job while figuring out how to fix things undercover.  Unfortunately until Chris (when T.K.E.A really started fucking up) there wasnt anything that was really pushing him to just make the jump without thinking.    Now I know that sounds weak ended on his part but let me explain something:  Elijah was very very inspired by tah-dah!

So if you picked up on this, congratulations! Here's a cookie. Now that means in this he has a very similar qualities as Sherlock Holmes that he cannot operate without thinking things through. Not until a time really calls for it. I am NOT saying that Christian Edens is his John, gods no. In fact his “john” actually was his partner (in the work sense) died at a job.  Its just more or so the situation with Chris was a final straw, one that really made Elijah say ‘enough is enough!’. He may seem brief and brutally honest on the outside that often makes him come across as an asshole but on the inside he truly does have a heart for those in need and a drive to stride for something better for everyone. Its just he will be doing it in his own way and gods forbid if anyone tried to change his direction he laid out for himself. Hes very stubborn. 

Elijah took the cards he was dealt with and made the absolute most of them of what he could. It just, wasnt enough at the time.

Hes highly intelligent, though bit rough around the edges when it comes to socialization. Like Sherlock again as his inspiration, he can make quick deductions but has a hard time keeping his mouth shut when he makes those deductions. Not everyone enjoys his honesty and way of ‘no bullshitting’.  Just because he has a heart doesnt mean he isnt a bit egotistical at times either. Its just not all the time. its like “hey look at how smart I am!”.  Other things to note is wow! Hes a rabbit shifter! His pronouns are he/him strictly and hes *sighs* straight. One of the very f e w ocs I have that are cishet. Though sometimes I do make some interesting hcs about him at least trying things. >_> Idk if ill put those here though. They are sexual in nature. LOL

it's funny that every time i think about writing i never really know what to say. i don't remember making this account in 2018, or writing for the first time on here. i've gone back and forth between journaling--where to do it, if it's even helping me--and there's a strong chance that i'll move on from this just like the other journals and modes of expression.

i've just been kinda uninspired. i fear that i wasnt born to be an artist. i dont think i Do enough. i dont really photograph. nothing really inspires me anymore. i'm kinda worried that new york's tap has run dry, but i dont think it's effective to blame the city i live in instead of myself. this has been a problem of mine for years now. why is it so hard to express yourself?!! i feel like i have a lot in me and yet no way to show for it. i dont know if i have a good work life balance. i dont know if thats even the problem? it's just.....so easy to do nothing....? but it doesnt make me happy??? but i keep doing nothign anyway??? maybe THIS is the first step to that. there's a bit of ego in making this. like. diary public. though i dont really think anyone will see it (and i don't care (but i will tag this anyway and maybe check if it gets any notes)). but i dont mean it to be egotistical.

i am a product of post internet use. i grew up expressing myself online. i was on facebook in fifth grade, tumblr in middle school, wattpad/ao3 and stan twitter in high school, art school in college, and back on twitter as a young adult. there has never been a point where i wasn't trying to put myself out there somehow, to be seen and shared and agreed with or admired or congratulated or impressed by. this pressure To Be Seen at 24 feels the most strong. the strongest ever felt. everywhere all the time i see and am told that i have so much time and that 20s are just the beginning. but it doesnt feel that way at all. it LOOMS over me. life shouldnt be Established but it should be.....Impressive? thats the second time i used impressive in this post so thats some subconscious thing going on there. But much of life right now is waking up, going to work, hating work, coming home, sitting on the couch until it's time for bed (which i either fall asleep right there or lazily flop into bed--and consequently miss taking my antianxiety meds), and then i wake up all over again. there's nothing to really show for. i don't feel like an interesting person. i dont feel like i do enough for myself. i guess i have a fear that i will be in this cycle for so long that one day it's 20 years later and nothings reallllllly changed. like. fundamentally.

i cannot think that far ahead. i have no ten year plan, 5 year, one year, 6 months...but i will be a fucking doomer about myself every chance i get. it's, of course, easier to catastrophize in the moment. lower expectations = less chance of disappointment! i think it's also interesting that the only things i really journal about are negative thoughts. wtf is that about. i'm not even necessarily unhappy right now.

having enough food in the house that i can make something without having to go out or order in

laying in the sun on the beach after getting bodied by waves

creme soda

when i'm wearing a dress and dont care about my underwear showing (i like to spread! im sitting knees up at my desk right now!!)

catching someone i like looking at me (does it mean anything extra if they're drinking something at the same time....? and they don't break eye contact...?)

customizable internet--the past now....i remember when tumblr was a WEBSITE more than an APP. we must free ourselves from The Profile.

this one starts off as human!alastor/lucifer but by the middle(?) its just regular radioapple. basically al is encountered by luci while finishing off a job who agrees to keep quiet. luci just keeps on showing up, reveals hes the devil to which al us just like "lol ok" and eventually they get in a relationship (ooh lala 👀) but they break up after saying some hurtful things to each other (oh nono 👀) with luci promising al they will never cross paths again. if you watched the show then well. you know that doesnt happen 😂 most human!al radioapple have al summon him (no hate to them) so this was an interesting change of pace

what do u think of s6 chair? I find s6 to be such a snooze fest so I skip thru the chair scenes. However there wasn't anything particularly toxic act them. But it still felt like Blair was doing things just for chuck like running her company just so they can be together. Glad we saw CEO Blair however it never sat right that she just ended up taking over Waldorf designs.

Oh honestly, same! like, exactly the same. i know this is probably an unpopular opinion amongst dairs, but there was this brief bit in the beginning of s3 where chuck and blair were both trying to be good for each other & their games were all at the expense of other people and it made me root for them, a little. like... i love s6 dangina, and in a similar vein, that brief window of time when chuck & blair were... i don’t have the right adjective, but they were less dysfunctional than usual? i actually liked watching that. there were even sweet moments like blair bitching to chuck about college and him listening to her, and there’s this bit where nate moves in with chuck and blair sees the morning after & some stripper chuck has hired is wearing her lingerie and she’s surprisingly unbothered by it? idk it was an interesting and new thing to watch.

but by the time s6 rolled around there was just nothing fresh or interesting about them. snooze fest is so correct, it felt really like... if i wanted to see more of this dynamic, i’d just watch s1 & s2 again, you know? it didn’t feel interesting to watch, and it didn’t feel like it would be fulfilling for blair to be in there because it’s like. you’re caught in a loop. you’re back to where you were at the beginning. idk... im a sucker for character growth, even if it’s corruption arcs and people going evil (if done well, those fascinate me so much. key word: if done well, which gg as a show arguably didn’t.) it felt.. tragic. she’d been through so much and learnt so much about herself as a person but she ended up where she was at the beginning. which is actually what happened to pretty much all the characters, so it’s an annoyance i have with s6 as a whole.

i didn’t think blair would want waldorf designs, tbh. i feel like she should’ve been a lawyer or a politician, i think her brain works in ways that are perfect for that. and yeah it was.... i don’t have the right words but like. the chair dynamic in s6 felt sort of bland. from an audience pov, to me, i feel like they’d already told the entire story of chuck & blair and there wasn’t much more that could happen that would feel new or interesting. from a character pov... i think chuck & blair always do this. they’ll have phases when they seem steady and possibly even ‘healthy’ and then they’ll slide back into that dysfunctionality. so even if s6 chair looked good, i don’t think it was a peace that would last. and im saying this based off watching the whole show, seeing chuck & blair in every season. there is a pattern there!

Unfortunately with the format of these asks I cannot link any sources, although I feel like you want me to find a Mike Farrell quote saying "queer people thought my outfits looked gay" which ofc doesnt exist. You said yourself though, he received a lot of letters from gay fans who recognised something in BJ and has spoken a lot about that. Also like I said, a lot of the 'evidence' is anecdotal which I doubt you will accept - which is fair enough. I'm not sure what you mean by the point about the 1950s mostly because generally MASH stuck with 70s/80s styling, and we are discussing how his image was received at the time it aired. For clarification though, my main issue was the implication I saw in your tags that his clothes were only from the red party and that he just kept them around for ease, which you explained as not how you think of it so that's good. I think the way BJ dresses was extremely purposeful, all about small acts of rebellion, and I think it is absolutely key to understanding his character and the development of his character over the course of the series, so the idea that he didnt actively make a choice to do that (either within or outside of the conceit of the show) felt very wrong. I too dislike the 'gay little fits' thing, even though I understand that most people ARE hyperbolically joking and I personally believe he could be (and was) read as queer to people at the time regardless. I wasn’t asking for a source as a gotcha, I was genuinely interested in anything you might have had. I’m interested in interviews in general and with this topic in particular, I’ve seen secondhand and thirdhand references to people back in the 70s and 80s picking up queer vibes from Hawkeye, but I’ve never actually found a direct source for that, either, and one of my hobbies is tracking down the sources on this stuff. I would take a member of the cast saying “I’ve had these interactions” or an older fan saying “this is how I reacted back then,” but not someone who wasn’t watching back then saying “well I’ve heard…” if that makes sense.

The only time I’ve actually seen Mike talk about gay people specifically in relation to MASH was in the mashcast interview, when he said he’d heard from gay men after GFA about how much it meant to them to see straight men be openly affectionate with each other. If you have anything else on this topic, I’m genuinely interested in it! Tumblr does allow anonymous submissions last I checked so if you do have something you can probably share it.

I’m on mobile, so I’ll edit this later to link the posts, but I’ve made posts both about BJ’s outfits being intentional and how significant that is to his character development. I think Hawkeye’s outfits are genuinely apathetic for the most part (although wearing a robe over an entire set of fatigues is something you have to do for a reason imo) while BJ’s are much more intentionally crafted as an anti-authority statement. I was just kinda joking around because BJ’s red party clothes literally do remind me of my dad still wearing the clothes he painted the house in twenty years ago. I was also kinda going with the headcanon that BJ dyed the pink Henley at the same time and just didn’t use it. The suspenders he obviously picked up later. BJ dressing like a suburban dad is in my kind very compatible with his wardrobe choices being an anti-authoritarian statement. BJ sees himself as a temporarily misassigned civilian. He makes it very clear that he thinks he should be at home raising his daughter, not in the army. “I’m a father, not a soldier,” is an anti-authority statement. It’s not the only statement he makes but I think it’s one of them.

A/N: hi guys! thank u for the request❤ sorry update is a bit slow ive just been bingewatching anime w my brother lol. anyway, this was so fun to write so i hope you enjoyed this as much as i do :D also.. i tried posting this earlier but it doesnt show up on the tags? D: why do u hate me tumblr

You’ve never been much of a drinker for the simple reason of you don’t enjoy the taste of alcohol. That said, you’re always in charge of making sure your friends get home safely at the end of parties.

Tonight, those friends are Mingyu, Hansol, Soonyoung, and Chaeyoung. Seungkwan has opted to miss Joshua’s party, and Seokmin says he has a date with his girlfriend. Tonight, you’ve just got to make sure they won’t make too much problems in their drunken stupors.

Well, everyone except Mingyu.

Because Mingyu’s not drinking tonight.

Because you’re actually no use as a designated driver due to your inability to drive a car. Thankfully, Mingyu doesn’t feel like drinking either that particular day because he has exam tomorrow afternoon; he’s just here because he’s looking to play games and have some fun.

That, and he doesn’t want you to be the sober one alone. Truthfully, Mingyu has always been attracted to you, a fact that Chaeyoung and Hansol have known since a semester ago. They’ve been encouraging him to make a move, but he says he’s still waiting for the right time.

Obviously, that’s a big lie because Mingyu’s just afraid of rejection. He’s not close enough to you to say he’s afraid he’ll lose your friendship; you’re just in the same circle together though you’re closer with Chaeyoung and Soonyoung than anyone else in the circle. The conversations you have with Mingyu when it’s just the two of you are just on surface level, but he wants to be there when you need someone to lean on, and he wants to be the person you turn to when you’re having bad days.

You plop down next to him, fully leaning your weight on the bean bag next to his as you slide down a little. Joshua has the softest bean bags, you swear.

“What’re you doing here, you loner?” you ask him jokingly. You notice Mingyu’s been quiet since earlier, you assume it’s the exam he’s thinking about, but Mingyu’s always prepared when it comes to his study so you’re somewhat sure it’s not that. But you don’t exactly know Mingyu like you do Soonyoung and Chaeyoung so you might be wrong.

On the other hand, you’ve always felt like Mingyu stares at you a bit too long sometimes. And, if you’re being completely honest, Chaeyoung and Hansol aren’t exactly subtle with their side glances, small pushes, and nudges. You feel like anyone would figure out why they’re doing that to Mingyu if they have the tiniest bit of common sense. But, not wanting to embarrass Mingyu, you choose to play dumb instead. Plus, you don’t want to assume and get things wrong only to make it awkward later.

It’s not like you have any sort of romantic feelings towards him, but you don’t think it’s impossible to develop either. He is Kim Mingyu, after all. It’d be a lie to say you don’t find him attractive, but that alone isn’t enough to turn your fleeting interest into actual feelings if Mingyu’s not gonna make a move.

“A bit too loud here, isn’t it?” he says instead, scrunching his nose adorably.

You laugh at that, flashing him that grin which always make his heartbeat runs faster. “Well, what did you expect from a party?”

“To be honest, I thought it’s just a small party,” he rubs his eyes a little, there are about twenty or so people here and, even though it might not be a ‘big’ party, it’s still a lot more people than Mingyu’s imagined when Joshua has told him to come by. “If I know it’s going to be this many people I’d just stay home and watch something on YouTube til I fell asleep.”

“Hey, who’d be our driver if you’re not here, then?” you nudge him playfully.

Mingyu sighs jokingly, nodding in agreement. “Right, I’m just here because you guys need a chauffeur.”

“Well, if you want to put it that way,” you shrug indifferently, though the playful gaze in your eyes tell Mingyu you’re just joking.

There are moments like this that Mingyu just wants to treasure forever so he can look back and grin to himself. Moments when it’s just the two of you joking with each other, laughing together in amusement. Why can’t he have this moment everyday?

From the corner of his eyes, he can see Chaeyoung making kissy faces at him, pointing at you with her eyes as she does so. He just gives her an unamused glance before turning back to you.

Mingyu’d like to think if Chaeyoung encourages him to go for it, it means you’re either interested in him too, or you’re at least not against the idea of being with him. He wants to take her teasing as encouragement, but everytime he’s about to do something, he chickens out.

“You want something?” Mingyu asks as he stands up from his seat. “I’m gonna get more cola and snacks.”

“Umm… just whatever you’re getting,” you tell him. “Should I come with you?”

“Nah, it’s okay,” he shakes his head, daringly dropping his hand to ruffle your hair as he makes his way to the kitchen. “Just save my seat. You know everyone wanna sit in those bean bags.”

Mingyu’s rummaging through Joshua’s snack drawer when Hansol comes by, a bit tipsy but not yet drunk. There’s a wide grin in his face as he drops his arm around the tall guy’s shoulder. “I see that you finally made a move?”

The older guy rolls his eyes, shaking his head. “Whatever do you mean by that?”

“Well, it’s not like I didn’t see you guys flirting with each other in the living room,” he grins some more, happy with the thought that Mingyu is finally making his move.

“We were just talking?” Mingyu says, finally finding the big bag of Lays he’s been looking for. “I can’t joke around with her?”

Hansol rolls his eyes, he’s about to say something when Chaeyoung cuts him off as she appears behind him. “Well, then you wouldn’t mind there’s a guy that’s been trying to talk to her while you’re busy here?”

At that, Mingyu quickly makes his way out of the kitchen. He quickly spots someone occupying his seat, a senior he only knows by name and reputation. Yoon Jeonghan, is it? Either way, you’re looking uncomfortable as you politely smile at the guy, probably unsure how to tell him you’re not interested.

“Hey baby,” Mingyu says before he even realizes, looking at you with honey dripping from his eyes. “Sorry I took a bit long. Couldn’t find the chips you usually eat. This is okay, right?”

You look up at Mingyu in shock, your ears getting warmer at the sudden petname.

“Oh, you have a boyfriend?” Jeonghan says, whatever interest he holds in you seemingly flies away that very second. He mumbles something like ‘I should’ve known’ before bidding you both a good night and leaving.

Even though the shock is still there, the sight of Mingyu avoiding your eyes as he hands you a can of cola and the way he’s slightly fidgeting in his seat brings an amused smile to your face. How can someone so large and muscly be this adorable? “So, baby?”

“I don’t want to talk about it.”

“Awww,” you pull your seat closer to Mingyu, your hand goes to poke his shoulder to tease him. “Why won’t you look at me, baby?”

When Mingyu just pouts some more and throws you a glare, you can tell at once that Mingyu’s trying hard to hold back his grin. Maybe you should let it go for now and see what happens after this.

Hopefully, Mingyu will actually make his move now.

remember when suicide baiting was an actual big deal about 5 years ago and if you told someone to kill themselves that was treated as a fucked up thing to do. nowadays people dont care and its absolutely because suicide jokes have normalized it.

I hate that the comedy has shifted in the past few years and now one of the top ten jokes is just "wouldnt it be funny if I told a suicide joke? because this content is cringe or because Im depressed lol lmao XD so random or this politician sucks or this blogger sucks?" Ive been using tumblr for a long time and the greater tumblr population didnt used to joke about suicide to this extent. there were still jokes but cmon. this is just 4chan level humor made mainstream.

this is just more rage at the endlessness of it all. how some bloggers will tag posts that only mention food and dont even show it, but the suicide joke goes untagged. like how Ive been forced for the past three years to get tougher skin, to deal with these jokes before I could even process my grief because tumblr is ridden with these jokes.

if nothing else I just want people to tag it better. its one thing if its a blog that doesnt tag anything ever, but if someone tags common triggers but ignores the blatant suicide mention? Im tired. people will say dark humor isnt for everyone then make it so that I can never trust following a new person online because even if I scroll 10 or 20 pages through their blog and dont see a suicide joke, theres never a guarantee they wont reblog an untagged one later anyway. which has happened to me.

Im just ranting. this has been on my mind a lot recently. Ive already said it but you cant just tell me to block tags and words because I have a mile long filter but it cant catch everything. people dont tag images, which my filter has no chance of catching without people tagging them. I still have to add new tags and phrases every now and then because there's so many ways to phrase a kms and kys joke.

social media isnt a safe place despite the effort I put into it and its disheartening. Im waiting for when the trend moves on and people stop finding the joke as funny. Im not holding out hope for it to be soon.

the normalization of people saying kys jokes is plain cruel tbh like maybe Im a snowflake or whatever lol but the way people will casually tell complete strangers to kill themselves over minor disagreements is astonishing. this isnt about bigots or other completely awful people being told this, just people who are perceived as annoying to someone else. do you ever read what you say to people or think about what youre doing. why are you telling someone to kill themselves just because you thought their comment was a little annoying? do you reflect on why you treat strangers this way? why youre so casually vitriolic?

the way suicide jokes have become so normalized is honestly horrible and Im sorry to everyone out there who is triggered by them. it is so difficult to escape them even with every single tag and phrase blocked and filtered that I can think of.

i know this is late, but i just keep remembering the little menial things that make tumblr confusing and i want to post it for the new people

1. sideblogs

on tumblr, you can have one main blog, the first one made, and an unlimited amount of sideblogs. a lot of people save urls on sideblogs for future use or just to have. if you have to many unused ones tumbkr may shadowban you (ill get to that later) for it so be careful.

you can't send asks from a sideblog, at least from what i can tell. it isnt listed as a feature by tumblr either. you can't submit stuff either, all of it will be sent from your main url. same goes from following people and liking posts

you can add members to sideblogs but not main blogs. members can reblog stuff and edit parts of the blog. itll hide pms of the sideblog though, not delete them, so if you become the only member again, the logs will still be there

2. arbitrary limits

you can create up to ten sideblogs a day

you can only reblog 250 posts a day, spread across your main and sideblog, reseting at midnight EST. on mobile it won't tell you you hit reblog limit if you use quick reblog, so you might end up thinking you reblogged a bunch of stuff but it won't show up on your blog

only 150 of those posts can be photo posts

the queue can hold up to 300 posts, but can only post 50 a day

you can't save drafts if you hit post limit

you can send 10 asks an hour, with up to 5 of them being anonymous

you can only like 1000 posts a day

in tags, each one is up to 140 characters, and you can add up to 30 tags

when creating a post, only the first 5 tags will be indexed to the main tag page, the others are searchable but its best to hold off on comments until after the first

some features are only editable or more accessible on mobile or desktop, like turning on asks and anon

3. shadowbans

while if you break the rules and get your account suspended tumblr will send you an email telling you that, the only way to tell if youve been shadowbanned is by looking for the signs

you cant pm people

your posts dont show up in tags

your url doesnt show up when you search it (different than if the function that makes it unsearchable is enabled)

your posts can only be seen on the dashboard by your followers

you cant send asks

people cant see notifications of when you like or reblog things from then, and it cant be seen in the notes

you cant be @'d by people

i mightve missed some stuff since i dont have much experience with shadowbans , but if it happens to you message tumblr support for help
