(sorry from a hockey noob) can you explain the hughes post you reblogged? it feels angsty but i dont know enough about hockey to get it:,(
hii of course :3 and u dont have to say sorry my love :((
i think all of the photos used in this edit were from game 7 of canucks vs oilers in may 20th. the canucks lost then, and thus were eliminated from the playoffs; they didnt advance to the semis
the lyrics match the legacy of the canucks who had such a bad run in the previous seasons and had surprised everyone this season with such an amazing performance. their coach even said, “[canucks] put respect back in that jersey and in this city.”
that said, they still lost, thus the edit 🥹
too much rambling under the cut so u can honestly ignore this
the lyrics used are particularly fitting bc of canucks’ recent history (specifically post-2011). they went from a powerhouse (still with off-moments, of course) to a struggling team (dramatic decrease in chances of advancing). there were so many shuffling and trading between players and staff, and canucks was quite literally burning for a while. thats not to say that there are no good players because there are, but the team struggled so much
come 2023-2024 season with quinn hughes (#43) as the captain. (just as a background: he is the 15th captain of the canucks, the youngest active captain so far, and the first defenceman to be the captain in decades. he’s also the first american-born captain of canucks.)
after three consecutive seasons where they failed in making it to the playoffs, hockey and canucks fans had no high expectations this season for canucks. that doesn’t mean no one watches them, but it wasn’t as fervid. then they finished first in the pacific division, advancing in the playoffs
and not just advancing, but it meant they were the highest to be qualified to advance. it was big. i remember coming back home from work, hearing actual celebrations by rogers arena bc honest to god no one expected this turn of events, especially after such tough consecutive seasons years prior
then the playoffs games, and i swear this team is cursed somehow. not only one but two of their goaltenders were injured. demko (#35) is their main goaltender but he was injured in a game and had his season ended just like that. desmith (#29) subbed in but this guy also got injured during the season!! so you know what canucks did? they went and grabbed silovs (#31) who was playing most of the 2023-2024 season for abbotsford canucks in the ahl games (kind of the juniors of the nhl) because v.canucks ran out of seasoned goaltenders
(silovs is good. really really good. no shocker there bc he was named the mvp for the worlds championship; it was the first time that latvia won the worlds in first place)
one of their powerful forwards, boeser (#6) was also injured in this season during a clutch moment—he played until game 6 against the oilers but was, unfortunately, too injured to advance to game 7.
despite these piling injuries, canucks’ plays this season was electric. they made miracles happen—often by turning the tides to their favour at the very last minute. it’s how they won against nashville predators and how they had hoped to win against edmonton oilers
but it was not enough so in game 7, may 20th, vancouver canucks lost 3-2. (game 6 was devastating; 1-5). the best of 7 fell to the oilers so they were the ones who advanced
it was honestly so heartbreaking. hughes himself even said that the loss felt so abrupt that he couldnt even think about hockey for a while. it was just sad. boeser even piped in how he was wondering what wouldve changed if he wasnt injured, and that the loss in game 7 felt personal to him. its…
yea
god im so sorry i rambled. im full of little things ik abt this man and this team but all the ppl i talk to know it already so i kinda. exploded on u 😭
hope this, uh, answered ur question

hello I’d like to hear about what teams the 118 might follow if u have the time pls and thank u
okay HELLO thank u for asking i have been dying to talk about this (i got out my laptop and everything)
i think karen got really into hockey during quarantine and roped hen into watching but she vibes more with the phf than the nhl (she's an underdog!! she gets having the odds stacked against her!!) and i think she would have settled on the six. they were new, funny on social media, and also i just think she'd find saroya tinker and elaine chuli rly neat. alternatively she is perhaps into the rivs because they are the most visibly queer and lesbian solidarity
i think chim would be a ducks fan-and hear me out here. based on kenneth's age chim probably would have been a teen or early 20s when the ducks became a team. i just think he would have gotten a kick out of a local team forming bc of a movie and he would have committed to the bit (also bc i think chim would look good in their old jerseys it's a VIBE)
bobby, obviously, is a minnesota wild fan (at least at the start). idk how sad you wanna get with this but i personally think a lot about his kids playing hockey and being into hockey and him being begrudging about it because of his past with with figure skating. he didn't follow them for awhile because it hurt too much at first, but he's learning to enjoy the sport again and remember the good parts of his past (athena is not technically part of the 118 and i don't really know how into it she'd be but she'd pick the panthers because she's from florida and they're fierce) (not the bolts fuck the bolts)
one time there was a fic where eddie used the queers and steers line to come out and i think lucy brought of tyler seguin and so now the two are forever linked in my brain i cannot unlink them i know el paso isn't close to dallas but let eddie watch hockey bc seguin is hot. let his lil repressed ass do it. he only admits to liking the kings now that he's in la its less embarrassing than admitting he got into hockey bc he found a player hot
now buck really had me in a pickle, right, because we don't know where in pa his family is really from. given they ended up in hershey, and daniel was sick, i'm going with the phiily area because of the children's hospital. so i think his family is probably philly sports all the way but the thing is: hershey is where the caps AHL team is. I think him and maddie both are caps fans, because it's cheap to go to AHL teams. they weren't affiliated with the caps til buck was 13/14 but he probably kept going to games bc he missed maddie and it felt like a connection to her (also then the caps got ovechkin)
lucy and ravi i have no thoughts on really because we've got nothing to go on but based on them having incredible vibes (yes i AM in love with lucy thanks for asking) they are both new jersey devils fans

hello my love! well my wips are causing me no end of grief - my main wip is stalled bc the various elements are not coming together in a way where they all speak to each other and it's killing me bc i KNOW this fic will be amazing if i can figure it out but i fully hit a wall (just asked our beloved lorna to read a draft out of desperation even tho it's so far out of her wheelhouse she might kill me); my less serious wip is in superhell bc i haven't ever written a time skip and don't know how to create a san jose sharks roster that covers the next 3-7 years that isn't just me creating a roster of ahl favorites and who it would be funniest to keep. like do i pull a you and just make up a bunch of rookies??? i'm strugglin' yo
to your other more important point, i don't do so good with remembering favorite lines. but in my current era as a connor mcdavid apologist, i have been thinking a lot abt your mcstrome wringer and the mcstrome soulmarks fic that only exists in me and maddy's inboxes...thinking a lot abt the tender images in those fics, but specifically the image of dylan kissing connor on the forehead when they win at worlds in tnno and dylan seeing the soulmark behind connor's ear. and how both those images are infused with so much emotion and how the fics are built around these images, either as a plot point of a moment or a very physical picture that has a whole history behind it. (i think a lot abt that line in your mattdrai fic that i still need to read the final draft of abt matthew taking a picture of his bruises, for purposes. which is a comedy line but also very much part of matthew's journey.) i think you are very good at creating anchor images in your fic that are part of the heartbeat of the story. it's one of my favorite things abt your fic, how well you build a story around a visual moment. (obvi you are great at emotions and setting and plot too!!! but one of my favorite things is how you're able to capture visually a plot point. and do it so gently too.)
i hope you are able to be kind to yourself today <3
kasper my love!! thank you for sharing your wip agonies with me, they sound very agonizing but i have faith that you will figure them out! for the first one, it is so frustrating when characters won't do what you want them to do. my very generalized unsolicited advice would be to try to figure out what motivation is missing for them to come together, or what motivation exists that is pulling them in different directions, and then hit them over the head with a rolled-up newspaper until they do what you want. i'm sure our lovely lorna will be able to provide much more helpful commentary though. for the second one, i DO highly recommend making up some gay ass rookies and just doing what you want, but also i love to speculate about future rosters so also feel free to ask if you want some help! ❤️
regarding my own monstrous fanfictions, thank you, i truly love this analysis of visual moments in the oeuvre of yourblues. i don't know what it is about it but the people LOVE the forehead kiss picture in tnno, which makes me very happy. i think a thing here is that i don't really visualize whole scenes when i write, it is much more like "what details do i need to provide to convey the correct vibes here" so when i have An Image in mind i do really want it to stand out! (i am going to be honest with u i haven't read the soulmarks one since i emailed it but..... maybe i will dig it up for my agonies) (also the ratnovel is not going anywhere, i have faith you will come for it when you are ready) anyway i maintain that connor mcdavid is a great guy for putting through the horrors, because he has already been through so many horrors and he is so inured to them on a day to day basis (i am thinking now of that post that's like "why are the horrors calling you babygirl") that you gotta REALLY commit to introducing new horrors into his ecosystem if you wanna break him down. and u know i love to break a man down!!!
ilysm 💙💙

Ha if u want to um. Elaborate on that d/s spectrum we’d love to hear it ahahahah :D
thank you kindly for this ask! let's take this from the top (by which i mean we're going to start with team usa's dommiest dom and end with the subbiest sub, and yes i am being intentionally just a bit sloppy about conflating dom/top and sub/bottom.)
cam york: they voted him their captain, so. also there is this video. also there is this photo. don't try to tell me cam york is anything other than the alpha dom of team usa.
cole caufield: i just get the feeling that cole knows what he wants and he's always kind of one step ahead, you know what i mean?
matt boldy: listen, it would be completely understandable to combine team usa's running joke about boldy having a dad bod (see e.g. comments here) with team usa's obvious daddy kink and slot boldy right into the dom category. HOWEVER. i am interested in his teammates' descriptions of him as "quirky" and "serious" and in how he is seemingly not the greatest at picking up on social cues (seriously matty nobody asked you to act out that tiktok?) and i like to think of him as just a little bit out of step with the group. THEREFORE in my heart of hearts i headcanon matt boldy as asexual and baffled but tolerant of team usa's entire deal. AND YET i think that if trevor was bored and up for it he could absolutely trick boldy into domming him.
ok we're gonna put the subs after the jump bc this is getting long and also more filthy.
trevor zegras: listen there is no human alive who embodies the spirit of "i am gonna be SO OBNOXIOUS because deep down i really want someone to Make Me Behave" more than trevor zegras. the only reason trevor does not land further down on this list is that there is a lot of sub competition on team usa, OK? (and also i think that sometimes jamie drysdale gets the sneaking suspicion that he is being topped from the bottom, like, jamie kind of thought he was in charge here but all of a sudden trevor's telling him he's not allowed to come yet?)
jack hughes: look, it's hard going 1OA, OK? and then having a disappointing rookie season where you're constantly second-guessing your decision to not play NCAA hockey for maybe just a year? will somebody please just tell jack how to be a good boy? give him some very clear directions and when he fulfills them please just tell him he did a very good job and he has earned a treat. pet his hair. make him breakfast. (thanks, ty, glad you're on top of this one.)
alex turcotte: omg TURCS. there is an entire separate post here. i disagree with some of the fanon characterization of turcs because it's just not how his teammates characterize him. he's the tough guy with the netfront presence who's gonna slash your knuckles if you take the puck from him in practice. soooooooooo i really like the idea of alex's older AHL teammates getting a load of the hot shit future 1C with the NHL bloodline and deciding he needs to be Put In His Place. i like turcs getting knocked around hard at practice and hazed in the dressing room and him and his teammates gradually coming to the realization that turcs likes the humiliation A Little Too Much, you know what i mean? i dream about turcs hanging out with trevor and jamie and feeling a little smug about it. like, trevor and jamie's whole puppy love thing is cute or whatever, but turcs is getting dicked down by Men.

19, 30, 40, 49 and 50 for the hockey asks!
Ahh thank u so much for asking!
19. Favorite duo?
Must be a huge surprise but Sepe & Teukka. I mean the cherubs own my heart. 😂❤️
30. Favorite color combination of a hockey team?
Oof this is a hard one. I’ve grown to like the canes’ red black & white but probably have to say that the best one is sharks turquoise/white/black colors. I also like the wild and the kinda dark green they got. But sharks is my favourite.
40. If you were a hockey player what would your nickname be?
Oooh this is also a hard one. My nickname in real life is Cami and at least in finnish that’s a pretty easy name but I’vr noticed that that doesnt usually come naturally to english speakers, so idk. I’d like to be called just C (in english), but that would probably get mixed up with the captaincy thing, so that’s not good either. Someone’s called me Camouflage and that’s a funny one too. So maybe I’m going with that. My last name is a mess and it’s hard to make good nicknames out of it.
49. What NHL team has the best AHL team?
I’m ashamed to admit how little I know about the AHL. I’ve not followed it at all this season and have no idea who’s good in the standings. Therefore I’m saying Checkers only bc it’s the Canes’s AHL team. But wait am I supposed to answer Canes bc of how the question is put I’m confused the heck ??
50. What NHL team will be a surprise next year, either good or bad?
Hmmm this is a hard one too🤔😂 A lot is depending on the draft and the off season trades of course but I’ll say the Habs, I think they can be surprisingly good next season if they make smart moves next summer and their young players can improve and take the next steps to play on a good stady level in the NHL.
Thanks for these and sorry for rambling so much!
Send me hockey asks!

who do u think dances better? jimin or hoseok?
thats kind of an Unfair Question but i will do my best to answer anyways
they are both extremely good dancers in different aspects. jimin was a contemporary dancer and therefore is better at moving his body slowly and smoothly, i.e. that one gif out there of them doing body rolls, jimin does it very smoothly and easily whereas hoseok is kinda stiff.
jimin should also be applauded for !!! learning a whole new dance style !! in such a short period of time. he had the shortest training period and shifting from contemporary to hip hop dance couldn't have been easy. he's very good at executing moves that require great flexibility and sometimes he dances so hard that it kinda gets sloppy but that only adds to his very specific charm.
hes also very professional and rolls with mistakes and missteps very well without breaking formation or making a scene ,so much so that a lot of people don't even notice !!
on hoseok's side, hoseok's roots are in street dance and popping, so where jimin is smooth hoseok is sharp. because of his past in popping, hoseok has much better body control and is able to execute extremely precise movements. he may not be able to move as smoothly as jimin in some aspects, but he is able to preform very complicated dance moves that sometimes jimin can't do
i.e. this gif comparing their troye sivan dance practice, jimin has the footwork down pat, but isn't able to do the , , wiggly back part like hoseok bc hoseok has greater precise body control. that isnt to say jimin doesnt have great body control !!! this is a very hard dance move !!
Tumblr media
he is also very adaptable ! i believe their choreographer said hoseok is able to learn choreographies very easily and can memorize/master them in mere hours, and that in AHL they told him he had to hold bacl dancing so he wouldn't outpreform the other members. everyone in bangtan regards him as the best dancer, even jimin himself.
jimin and hoseok both work very hard and are both extremely good dancers within their own rights, but my personal preference is hoseok, and id says hes the better dancer, but like if i was giving them a percentage jimin would be 99% and hoseok would be 100%

I’m not the original anon but I loved reading that so much, please do their strengths! It’s really interesting to hear about this stuff from people who know what they’re talking about
I’m a different anon but I’d be interested in reading what you think their strengths are if you feel like sharing.
AAAAA wow thank you so much !!! i will try to do my best, but it’s very hard to talk about this kind of stuff because, as i mentioned in my first post, i’m not there for the rehearsal process.
this affects my ability to talk about their strengths bc im not able to see them build a piece from the ground up. one of the things i admire the most + dancers hold to high regard is the ability to pick up choreography, how fast they can adapt to the style, and how quickly they reach a performance-ready image. additionally there’s rehearsal attitudes, how focused one can be, and how willing a dancer is to accept corrections + self correct + work w the choreographer
this said .. !
jin
his work ethic. it’s no secret that even from AHL and pre-debut days, jin has always been one of the hardest workers in terms of his dancing ability compared to the other members. to come from a NON DANCING background for the majority of his life (it gets harder to start picking things up the older you get due to habits and posture that ur body becomes used to) and to be able to pull off any single one of bts’ dances WITHOUT standing out and looking like a true professional is something that i greatly admire. with all my dance experience, albeit in ballet, i can’t dance the way he did in NMD even now. many many many idols and dancers will never reach his level of proficiency/energy/attitude in that piece as well.
currently i would say his greatest strength is probably his upper body movement. the only other member that rivals his loose flow is hoseok (re: mic drop dance break w the body rolls), as well as his incredible ballon. he has this ability to seem suspended when he’s doing certain dances … !!!
he also has incredible stamina. he is stable when he sings and dances, and often isn’t pitchy or sounding super out of breath. compared to 99% of the population, this is a talent and skill that many don’t have LOL this can only come from his natural altheticism and his work ethic due to hours and hours of practice ! he also always appears at ease when he dances (unless the song is an “edgy” or “angry” song), which is difficult to accomplish TT
yoongi
his strength as an overall dancer! he’s not just a one-trick pony. he doesn’t have any tricks (except for the recent double endehans that we saw in tokyo “so what”??????omg) but he excels in every single bts dance . there is always a point/move that he does better than his members. for a non dancer, he has such innate ability to move and feel the music, something that is rare for people just breaking into the dancing scene like he was pre-debut.
his footwork in dope is unparalleled. his stylistic choices in fake love r so fitting and unique and fjalsdhgalkhg i can’t praise him enough for opening himself up mentally (because dance is also greatly taxing on ur BRAIN) and getting to a place where it seems judgement has decreased on his OG dance abilities. this allows him more freedom in molding to new pieces and making sure he excels in them !!!!!
namjoon
wowowowowow namjoon also has unbelievable work ethic. i cannot imagine have a stiff, non-dancer’s body (pre-debut) shape itself into the Dancing Machine it is now. there are people who are born to dance, have movement sewn into their bones, but namjoon wasn’t given all of that and yet he continued to work until he found his own rhythm.
YES he is tall, and YES that means he has to move his body faster than everyone else in order to stay on the music, and YES that means when the group cleans a piece he has to bend lower than the others just to be on their same level – a task that can build exhaustion when it’s done over and over the course of a song – but YES he manages to pull it off EVERY TIME.
i cannot believe the amount of growth i’ve seen from him in all different styles. i could never imagine the hard hitting NMD dancer being able to do spring day or, an even better example, FAKE LOVE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! he is light in the chorus section (so less resistance compared to JM or JK) but then he contrasts that immediately after w bound-flow, showing innate understanding that dance cannot all be one energy level; you need to have contrast in order to give impact to important parts & keep the audience engaged. otherwise if U attack a piece w the same energy the whole time, it will actually end up looking flat and boring, like all the movements are the same since they will read the same way to the crowd
hoseok
i cannot cannot cannot talk about hoseok enough. for me his greatest strength is his performance quality. ignoring everything else he does so well, i’m gonna cut straight to the chase and say he’s the best dance performer in bts. when he dances – between rehearsal and the stage – there is a clear difference; he’s engaged in both, but there’s a level of freedom that he allows himself which demonstrates his connection to the audience.
he’s very focused on what he looks like in the mirror during practice, but like all great performers, he throws the mindset of “fix technique fix technique fix technique” away once there is an audience and actively invites them to join in on his joy. he has pure passion in his heart for his craft, and it’s never been more clear. the love he has for his art is breathtaking. his fearlessness in switching styles; he’s an absolute chameleon. from spring day to NMD to seo taiji, i’ve never seen him falter before, and all topped off w the most electric connection to the crowd
like WOW is that breathtaking. being confident in choreography is one thing, but going above and beyond by pushing himself to be in performance mode (a whole beast and a half on its own) as much as possible requires more space within himself that i’m lacking from the other members. YES he is an idol, and he is very aware of this business of tricks, but he never forgets that dance speaks it own language, that it has its own rules, that it possesses his body and governs his movements the minute he sets foot on that stage. i can’t even explain the sheer talent thats in him when it comes to this aspect
jimin
oh jimin TT his greatest strength is style. i know i talk a lot about how he doesn’t let go enough of it to really excel in all sorts of genres, but what he’s built from a background in classical-esque styles is incredibly admirable. i’m not sure i would be able to do what he did, coming off of 14 yrs of ballet and not much else. to establish himself pre-debut/debut as a member of dance line in a COMPLETELY different style is so unbelievable to me. he knows his body and he knows how to push his body to get the results he wants
i mean . obviously bts are overworking themselves but to have the mental strength to push thru and continuously crank out all these different pieces w a touch that’s uniquely Jimin™ is smth you can’t deny !!! homeboy knows what lines look good on him, and he adapts the choreography to best suit his body
he also is a great camera fiend. this is more of an industry dancer situation (since great dancers ≠ industry dancers) where his idol status comes into play, but there is a good reason why his fancams get so many views on music shows ! he knows what the camera wants ! he knows how to be sexy ! he knows how to change his image ! he knows how to work with what he’s given and make a whole new meal out of that and its just ! wow ! fuckn yum !
taehyung
ok so let’s talk tae’s upper body. let’s talk . tae’s upper body .
he has such control and awareness over his movements, especially his body rolls. he knows how to make his torso fluid, which is something a lot of the members actively struggle with today. he has such ?? nuanced articulation thru his chest that is typically absent from male dancers , so it’s always a treat to watch him perform
additionally he has great confidence and performance aura. as u can tell from singularity or stigma stages, he also (like jimin) knows how to work a camera well. but this also translates to his dancing. while he can’t catch all the footwork that others may, he understands that facials and his upper body will make up for the deficit.
i’ve said this before but if you want to see how good of a technician a dancer is, you look at their legs and feet. if you want to see how good of a performer they are, you look at their upper body (arms too) . he knows how to make an impact w the way he moves & it’s so clear in the division of his energy thru his body (more towards his chest since) so !
jungkook
for me JK’s strength is how solid he is as a dancer. while he doesn’t excel at a particular style or have a Thing™ which sets him apart from the group, he does exactly what he’s given and he does it well. he works hard. he’s undeniably clean. there’s never a moment where his limbs are flopping around for no reason, and his energy is always portioned exactly where it needs to be. this innate cleanness and confidence in his ability is what allows him to move quickly and look like it’s not costing him much energy
he also has incredible stamina TT i can’t even begin to explain ???begin????him singing it live???WITH THAT FOOTWORK?????? god
his footwork is so strong. i would argue the strongest in bts ... the speed and the sharpness of what i’ve seen him do . while singing. is unbelievable. he is able to keep his wits about himself when the choreography is fast shows just how relaxed he is when he dances. he doesn’t feel the need to rush because he knows he’s just . gonna do everything right LOL (at least that’s the impression i’m getting)
again it’s just so hard to say what his tru strength it without seeing him in rehearsal. this is becoz the level of dancing ability in bts is so high already TT so the basis of my comments are a little redundant since i’m comparing members to members instead of members to regular people lmaoo

CANTLON: RYAN LINDGREN PROFILE AND LATEST NEWS
Tumblr media
BY: Gerry Cantlon, Howlings CROMWELL, CT - It’s been a rollercoaster of a first season for Hartford Wolf Pack rookie defenseman, Ryan Lindgren. His play has earned him a passing grade for his effort, despite not going to the postseason for a second straight season A majority of Lindgren's season was spent partnered with John Gilmour as the Wolf Pack’s top defensive duo. The expectation for the remainder of the season is that there will be new combinations tried at both the forward and defensive positions.  Lindgren played with Brandon Crawley last weekend. “It was a lot of fun playing with John, and we also got along well off the ice too. I'm happy for him to get a recall. He’s a heck of a hockey player. I played most of the year with him, with the exception of a few games. He's such an easy guy to play with, just give him the puck, and he’s such a good skater, you let him fly. "Now we're all going to have to make changes and adjustments with so many new faces,” said Lindgren. Lindgren is acutely aware of what coming into a locker room at the end of a tough, and a difficult season can be like for a player. “I came here last year for the last ten games, so I know what it's like when you’re the new face and everything is new to you. It’s a very exciting time for them to start playing (pro hockey). It’s still a big time for myself and all the other players to show management what you got. We've got to make sure nobody is taking any nights off. It’s an important final ten games for everybody here.” Lindgren had one advantage last year that helped in in his transition. His former college teammate, Vinni Lettieri, who was just recalled to the Rangers, was there to greet him last spring. “I went through the same thing they did in coming from college. It's just a different lifestyle going from class and knowing all your buddies to a place where you really don’t know anyone. To go from the structure of going to classes to where you go to practice in the morning and then the rest of the day is yours, it's a lot different as the hockey is different from the college game.” The Lettieri factor was big for him. “I was very lucky to have Vinni here when I got here, of course, I knew him from playing at (University of) Minnesota, so I was able to move in with him and he’s a guy who was always on the move, on and off the ice,” Lindgren said with a laugh. “He had family come in and always had something going on. I was very lucky to just not to sit in a hotel by myself, doing things with him or cooking meals at home. I was very fortunate.” Lindgren’s game is a physical, grind-it-out style that is a throwback to the players of 10-15 years ago. At that time, having a physical rearguard would be prized, but in today’s game, defensemen are more like defensive backs in football. Their hands are tied in how to defend against the opposing forward in their own end. “When I was playing for the US at the World Juniors with coach Bob Motzko (now the head coach at the University of Minnesota). He used to say to play as close to the line as you can. To crossover is a huge thing. I like to play a physical style. I do trash talk a bit, and run my mouth,” Lindgren said with a wry smile and wink. ”But you have to be careful not to carry it too far. In general, you have to stay focused on your game, so you don’t hurt the team with bad or ill-timed penalties. So that’s the game I bring and that’s not going to change, you just have to be smart to know when the right time is.” The first year has seen Lindgren’s potential tempered with reality. It was a season of ups-and-downs for the Wolf Pack as a team and individually. He now sports an "A" with Rob O’Gara out for the past 21 games since early February with a lower-body injury. “I have been happy about it there a very good group of guys here and I got time in New York which of course very special,” said Lindgren. The Second year pro was originally drafted by Boston, whose rights were acquired in the Rick Nash deal last spring “I have learned a lot in my time here. (Pack Head Coach) Keith (McCambridge) and (Assistant Coach) Joe (Mormina) have been huge for me in getting to learn the pro game, and the call-up, of course, to the Rangers was something else. I was fairly consistent for the year and the Rangers seem happy with me,” The season, however, boils down to one bad stretch, a ten game losing streak that ran from mid-January to mid-February just after the trade of then, team captain, Cole Schneider. “We were right in contention (three points out of fourth place) and we lost ten in a row and it's hard to make that up and others were winning (Hershey Bears) and next thing you know we fell out of it (playoff contention). It’s a very tough time of the year. Everybody is playing for a playoff spot and you're not. "We let up at that time and this is where we're at. Losing Schneids was tough, but we didn’t play as well as we should have.” The Checkers with a 44-15-7-1 record (96 points) are 31 points ahead of the Wolf Pack. They clinched a playoff berth last weekend by sweeping the Pack in a pair of games. Syracuse has also clinched a playoff berth last weekend as they lead the North Division. The Pack takes on the Checkers for a third straight game on Friday night at the XL Center at 7:15 pm which will be the last meeting with the Checkers this year. “They are the league’s best team. We got a lot of new faces, so it's going to be a big test for us if we play well,” said Lindgren last weekend as they departed for North Carolina. NOTES: No week is complete without some roster moves. Greg Chase, the nephew of former Hartford Whaler, Kelly Chase, had a two-goal game for the Maine Mariners (ECHL) against the Worcester Railers including an OT winner. He was signed to a PTO by Hartford while Dean Melanson was returned to the Mariners. Former UCONN player Karl El-Mir was released by Providence from his ATO deal without having played a game. Michael Doherty (Yale) was released by the Bruins too and sent back to Manchester (ECHL). A slew of El-Mir’s Hockey East opponents have all signed pro deals this week. Boston College saw Michael Kim and Chris Brown both sign with Wilkes Barre/Scranton Penguins (AHL). Casey Fitzgerald (Buffalo-NHL/Rochester-AHL) and goalie Joseph Woll sign with the Toronto Marlies (AHL) and a report from TSN’s Bob McKenzie says that freshmen, Oliver Wahlstrom, has told BC he will turn professional and is working on a deal with the New York Islanders and may wind up with the playoff-bound Bridgeport Sound Tigers. Woll’s departure will allow Darien’s Spencer Knight (US National Development Team) and one-time Avon Old Farms product to head to BC. He will likely be a first or second round pick in this upcoming summer’s NHL Draft in Vancouver. Boston University, saw top-end defenseman, junior, Dante Fabbro sign with Nashville. Ridgefield native, Chad Krys, sign an ATO deal with Rockford (AHL). Goalie, Jake Oettinger (Texas-AHL), Bobo Carpenter (Islanders) and, a surprise freshman, Joel Farabee (Flyers) have all left. A total of 27 Hockey East players have signed pro deals so far. There has been 105 Division I players and 118 college players in total have all signed North American/European pro deals. Matthew McGroarty (Westport/Brunswick Prep) has made an oral commit to Quinnipiac University (ECACHL) in 2021-22. Congrats to the state high school hockey champions. Early in March in the NEPSAC prep school boys tournament at St. Anselm College in Manchester, Kent School won the large Division title beating Cushing Academy 2-1. Kent grads include current Rangers head coach, David Quinn, and current Ranger and ex-Wolf Pack, Boo Nieves. In the Open Division, Salisbury Prep lost in the finals to Kimball Union 4-3. Salisbury features Thomas Richter (Greenwich), the son of the Rangers all-time great goalie, who is a Union College (ECACHL) commit 2020-21. In the public school tournament held at Yale University, in Division I Fairfield Prep captured their 17th Division I title (one Division II title in their first year as a varsity program) in the fifth championship meeting between ND-West Haven. They won by the score of 5-2. Mason Whitney and Thomas Quinn had a goal and an assist apiece to pace the Jesuits win. The final four for the first time in Division I history featured all four teams from parochial schools. In Division II, the Branford Hornets shutout Glastonbury 2-0 to capture the first title as David Engstrom’s goal and assist and Jared Yakimoff’s 20 saves paced the title win. It was Branford’s first title since 1988 when they beat Shepaug Valley (Washington, CT) by the score of 5-3 and only the third championship final in the history of the program. In Division III, the co-op program Lyman Hall/Haddam-Killingworth/Coginchaug knocked off the other Wallingford school, Sheehan, in the Battle of Wallingford by the count of 6-2 for their first ever hockey title. Senior Kyle Roberts had two goals and an assist and nine shots on goal and sophomore Aidan Weir’s tallied two goals on two shots, including what became the game-winner help the Trojans victory. The University of Wisconsin won the NCAA Women’s Frozen Four this past weekend in Hamden at Quinnipiac University with a 2-0 shutout win over Minnesota for their 5th national title. Loren Gabel of Clarkson (ECACHL-W) won the Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award, the Hobey Baker Award for women’s hockey. The Calgary Inferno captured the CWHL (Canadian Women’s Hockey league) championship shutting out the Les Canadiennes of Montreal, 2-0 at the Coca-Cola Coliseum in Toronto, home of the AHL Toronto Marlies. CT Jr. Rangers forward, Jay de Ruiter, who played for the Netherlands WJC team in Division 2 Group B is playing for his home country national team at the U-18 World Championship Group B Division 2 in Belgrade, Serbia. Ex-Pack, Matt Carey, signs with Schwenniger (Germany-DEL) for next season. Four more European, Asian or Scandanavia titles have been decided. In Iceland, SA Akureyri Vikings of Northern Iceland (southern Iceland much warmer !) swept SR Rekyavik in four straight 2-0, 3-2 (OT), 3-2 and a final game at 4-1. The playoff MVP and top goalie was Adam Beukeboom, the second cousin of former Ranger player and coach and Wolf Pack assistant coach, Jeff Beukeboom. In Lithuania, Engergie Elektrenai won their 4th straight title over Hockey Punks Vilnius sweeping best of five series by the scores of 6-4,7-4 and 7-3. In Spain, Txuri Urdin beat CG Pulgcerda for their third straight title and 16th Spanish title winning the championship game 3-2. Turkey, saw Zeytinburnu Istanbul capture its sixth straight Turkish Super League (TSL) title beating Buz Adamlar. They swept the best of five series winning by the scores of 2-1, 4-3 (OT) and 4-3 in the short-season league. The leading regular-season scorer was former Danbury Whaler Matt Puntureri of KOC University-Istanbul with 52 goals and 21 assists and 73 points in just 14 games! Read the full article

omg arden!!! hi hello hey omg hallo : D!!!!
2 describe in detail the moment where you fell in love with your bias(es)?
ok you said detail i will DO detail [takes a sip of vodka and flinches] i actually went through the individual kim bros tag to find out WHEN it was bc some might know i started as a taehyung stan; he was the first i was drawn to since i thought he was cute and when i heard his voice i thought he was hot and as i got to know them more and comments abt him being 4D/alien and him not rly understanding/liking that i just felt very connected and oddly moved? it made me sentimental smh? i don’t have a problem with my ways of doing things and since i’m surrounded by ppl who love me nobody else has a problem with my ways either but i had hard times accepting that my normal wasn’t everybodies normal and that i’m sometimes too much and not rly.. it’s hard to describe but sometimes i feel like i’m floating 3m above while everybody else is standing with both feet on the ground or talking jibberish to others while it’s crystal clear to myself? i feel connected to him. he’s that kind of person to me, someone i relate to, someone i want to protect like an older sister or i imagine twins care for each other? i fell head over heels and that feeling didn’t change though jin and joon also grew on me. kim taehyung still is the heart, my heart in this triple
for jin, who was the 2nd (yes pat yourself on the broad ass shoulders here mr. kim senior), it was the 12th march when i reblogged a gif of jin tagging it#shit this got me #in bts you may have a steady bias & a 2nd one #but each day there comes another 3 and 4#like one day i’ll point at namjoon being like ‘you’re todays 3’ #and on anther days i’ll be like ‘seokjin be my 2 for 2day ok?’ #bts is just a big bias  anD I SHOULD HAVE KNOWN HOW ACCURATE THIS WAS!!!! on the 20th of june 2016 i used his sidetag for the first time and 3 days later i told yoongi (who was my 2nd bias back then) to “watch out” bc jin was growing on me. i remember getting more into bts and being like ?? when i realized that jin was one of the “less popular” members and not understanding? it wasn’t even about his looks but i found him to be super funny and endearing, i thought his suave comments and cutting the atmosphere was hilarious and i was always finger guns towards him and pointing at my dirty computer screen where jin said or did smth relatable (isn’t he always relatable be honest) and saying “me” and he just grew on me not like a disease or a shroom but more like how flowers break through the cracks in asphalt blooming and blossoming even when there’s barely any sunlight or rain just breaking through and being there anyways like “fuck you i grow here now!” jin was like that. he said “excuse me is that seat taken? no? what do you me a throne is for one person only no i think- taehyung move- yes see? now you’ve two biases!” and. he just was there. i love him so very much never underestimate me being a huge loser for this huge loser i love him more than my weak, poor, cold assy existence
FOR NAMJOON. EHEM. WELL. it was the typical route of he cute > no he ain’t i hate him who’s lim nimjeon?? > sHIT SHIT FUCK FISH HSHIS THIT MAYDAY MAYDAY WE’RE CRASHING I REPEAT WE’RE FUCK WE’RE FUCKED > happily(?) biased
it started with me commenting stuff like #i blame my flatmate but he kinda grows on me #doesn’t help that he has a good choice in everything and is educating himself abt homans PLUS likes tae very much and honestly i still blame @grumpytth bc she can actually see the future. it may just be odd shapes and shadows but she KNOWS &she just had to say smth like “u would say that” whilst we would watch bts vids and joon suddenly turns into the pope or the philosophy prof and i couldn’t even say NOO bc she was right?? also whenever we would go out shopping i’d just LOOK at smth or TOUCH it and she’d give me That Look and mutter “that’s so namjoon” under her breath. sometimes i’d start a random convo and her brows would disappear under her hairline and the only answer i’d get was “idk why don’t you ask joon” aND I SGUADKJHDUIGAHSD FUCK SHE KNEW AND DAMN SHE RIGHT i have nothing to say or add, it was fate. meant to be. this loser owns my soul with all his soft, warm, big heart, sharp, witty and open mind, his child-like curiosity and movements, his fire spitting rapping and his soft, raspy, unsure singing and honestly i’m just his. this loser owns me ughhh
10 when did you realise that you’re in too deep?
isn’t when you dream abt them? i had this one dream where sope were my older brothers and i forgot their bday (which was on the same day for some reason) and i just crashed into my flat (in which miraculously my wHOLE FAM LIVED like my two actual younger siblings, mom and stepfather AND flatmate) and i run into their room and jumped onto their matress that was lying on the floor and apologised non-stop for forgetting their birthdays….. yoongi was super grumpy and just kicked me and hobi made really loud groaning noises and said he’d never forgive me. it’s because i abandoned yoongi and can’t admit hobi is my bias wrecker sadhuashsa
also i think whenever you’re reaaally into something they become the “home” of your thoughts so whenever my thoughts would trail off it’d always come back to “but what would bts do/imagine this scenario with bts” randomly, it’s embarrassing but it’s true :^/ so that’s how that happened……….
14 top 5 ‘you’re lame but i love you anyways’ moments
the whole ahl ok no 1 taes cypher cover &this little ppap I LOVE HIM AND SUPPORT HIM AND HES ADORABLE!!!! it may seem lame to people and I acknowledge that but I don’t find it embarrassing there’s just pure love in me for that child 🙈💓2 that one time rapmon said smth along the lines “and I look like a pornstar” I cANNOT AND WILL NOT REMEMBER 3 when hobi danced to ice cream cake and had his beanie covering his face and his whole lower body was doing smth utterly inappropriate….4 this is harder than I thought I’m good with 2nd hand embarrassment I bliev……. I just don’t like those pranks things…. 5 this shall be it they’re too relatable and I love them too much to actually feel ashamed or be even slightly embarrassed. it has come to that point /crosses self Thank you so much for asking!!! Sorry it took a while 🙏😸have a good one Arden 🌺💕
