this isn't a criticism but i think totk would have made an incredible horror game (or at least would have been really good if nintendo had leaned more into the horror elements already there)

like. you have link with gloom in his body for the entire game. there's that right there that could make for a terrifying situation for him with ganondorf's abilities. there's the fact that both ganondorf AND the yiga clan can now impersonate zelda (and other various NPCs). you don't know who you can trust anymore because they may be a familiar face, but are they really who they say they are, or are they just trying to get close to link so they can kill him? the gorons are angrier than they've ever been because of that marbled rock roast. rito village is in the middle of a destructive snowstorm that never seems to end (snowscapes work well for horror :)). zora's domain is being covered in muck that the zoras can't breathe in. gerudo town is pretty much destroyed and even in game it's horrifying to see the town overrun with gibdos. i think they're really close to it in sections (goron city, gerudo town, hyrule castle, the depths).

Yes! I almost always do because I really appreciate them and its my way of saying thanks for the comment! If I don't comment it's because I lost track of it or because I can't think of a response.

What's the fic with the angstiest ending you've ever written?

Probably Salt Tears and Raindrops. I was in a Mood and decided to go for the tried-and-true method of putting fictional characters I like through the emotional wringer. That's how I got the rough draft for this fic :)

What’s a WIP that you want to finish, but don’t think you ever will?

My two Runescape fics, Whispers in the Temple and Welcome to the Jungle. I absolutely loved going hogwild with rewriting old quests in Runescape, but I psyched myself out of Welcome to the Jungle because I got overly anxious about accidentally doing bad representation.

(in hindsight, it probably wouldn't have been as big a deal as I thought; it's hard to make it worse considering how bad Legend's Quest was with the british-african stereotypes. that quest DID NOT age well.)

I also want to finish Snake in the Grass; that was my first attempt at a genuine mystery plot and I really liked playing with Warriors in that fic in the context of the gang trying to figure out who the heck is trying to murder him.

What are your writing strengths?

I feel like I'm pretty good at dialogue! I try to make sure it matches the character's speech patterns and personality. Really well-written dialogue can tell you who's speaking without actually telling who it is. (For example, the way I write them: Minato speaks as few words as possible and has very little filter with his observations when he does share them, and Shinjiro is pretty rough around the edges, with shortened words and the occasional swear. Warriors is good with words and wit, but he has a certain military-esque directness and doesn't dance around the topic.)

I do try hard to keep the plot clear and understandable over everything else, so probably that as well.

Also, now that I think about it, maybe fight sequences? I don't do them much, but I do enjoy the challenge of making a clear sequence of what happens in a fight and trying to make it understandable. Fight sequences are easy to skip or gloss over, but I think of them like their own miniature plot. What happens? What surprises are there? What are their movesets? How do they get the upper hand? (and of course, what looks cool as fuck)

What are your writing weaknesses?

Time management. I tend to over-proofread since I beta my own work, and often I'll go back to tweak stuff if I had additional thoughts to add to it, or extra insight. Lately, it takes longer to write chapters than I'd like.

Also, dialogue-heavy scenes often get very chaotic in my WIPs because of the way I rough out fics. I'll throw together a bunch of dialogue bits I think would be cool to include, and sometimes they'll clash or get really messy, especially if there's lots of characters (looking at the latest two chapters of Stygian Ringlet)

What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fics?

I think it's cool! It adds flavor to fics. If it's more than one short phrase though, or if it's story important, then I do prefer that there is a translation in the author's notes. I haven't done any non-English dialogue in fics, save for one memorable adventure into trying to figure out how Latin grammar structure works for a character that didn't speak English.

What was the first fandom you ever wrote for?

Wizard101 and Pirate101. I was obsessed with those two for YEARS. I really, really liked pirate stories in high school, and having a cast of crewmates that accompany you throughout the game really inspired me to write my first fic featuring my OC. (I was also into One Piece at the time, but I never wrote for it.)

What’s your favorite fic you’ve written so far?

Stygian Ringlet. It's really dear to my heart. I have poured so much love and effort into that fic, and the reception on it has completely blown me away.

I saw your Dragon AU and I love it! 💖 But I do want to ask... What are the lu boys' elements? Like, you already mention that Warrior is a fire dragon, Time didn't mention what his element was so I was curious about their elements as dragons, maybe some of their dragon habits they unintentionally show while in their hylian forms too? (I imagine Wind as a wind dragon or sea/water dragon honestly.)

For the record, my blog is actually coming up on the third year. The asks with congratulating me on two years was because the last I opened the requests on the anniversary of the blog. There's still a lot of those to go around :D

Since I answered the element question in the other ask, let me address the other half of it here.

To answer your question if they show their more dragon half while looking more hylian, the answer is yes. Very much so.

They behave a lot like cats or bears would, depending on the boy.

They mark and scent and growl- all while fiercely protecting and hoarding their items and what not.

Thing is, I don't think dragon would be very easily accepted in Hylian culture because of all the damage they've tend to have done in the past. This was something that had grown over time since I like to think Hylians were the recessive gene.

So like, everyone on Skyloft is a dragon, but by Wild's time, it's just him and Zelda.

Zelda however, has always been a dragon. (This had nothing to do with Totk when it was thought up by the way. This was thought of before we even knew when that game was gonna come out.)

But because a lot of dragon have to had been fought/had been manipulated by Ganon and other baddies, being a dragon, or showing dragon qualities, were looked upon with fear, caution, distrust and disgrace.

They're actively hunted to ensure the "safety" of the people, forcing all dragon with the exception of the royal family to go into hiding.

Probably A chance enounter? They get each other's number and the promise of a cute date.

Nope! I've only gotten some (requested) constructive criticism. I do have a fic planned that I anticipate being kinda contentious? But I'm already planning on limiting comments on that one lol.

Yee! I've never written anything hardcore but I do really like writing and reading sexy scenes. I'm not much of a PWP kind of person (give me all of the emotional context) but I'm a big believer that sex and intimacy are fundamentally human experiences and can serve a story in so many beautiful and interesting ways.

I continue to chip away at my Deep Space 9/TotK crossover idea. It's gonna happen one day... maybe...

Zelink, definitely. People whose souls are inextricably bound to one another and keep finding each other, lifetime after lifetime? That's the good shit right there. Obsessed.

15. What's a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?

The story that walked into my head that made me start writing. It's a crazy ambitious story - Basic premise is that instead of the Sheikah technology being banned by the ancient king, the Sheikah themselves were banished from the lands of Hyrule. In the interim, Hyrule has been through many wars, dynasties and factions have all risen and fallen, and the bloodline of the Goddess has been forgotten. No one remembers any of the old stories. Zelda is a farm girl training to become a healer like her mother, Link is the son of the king who won the throne after lead a successful campaign against the Zora, and into all of this comes a young Impa, drawn back to Hyrule after thousands of years away, tormented by visions of calamity, a prophecy her people have passed down for millenia, knowing that Hylia would recall them to the land of their ancestors when the time was right. It's anti-monarchy, it's about climate change, it's about falling in love and renouncing power in order to fulfill a greater purpose, it's about knowing yourself, it's about righting ancestral wrongs, and I do not think it will ever be finished but I do like to come back to it every once in a while.

But in all seriousness, I know I still have a lot to learn as a writer. I'm overly descriptive, I have long run-on sentences, dialogue tags are my nemesis, and I struggle to write with real depth of character.

I do think I'm a good storyteller. I am just still honing those skills.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

I think it's great! I am obsessed with conlangs - I think they're so fucking cool. For writing in existing languages, as long as you're familiar with the language, or getting someone to look it over and not just running things through google translate, I think that's wonderful.

Only one chapter is up. This is just a collection of 4 short fics that are set in post-canon of Radio Silence. They're based on the prompts from the February Friday Event. 2 of the 3 remaining chapters are partially written, but not finished. One will be about Carys and her thoughts on Universe City. The other is about friendship, but Carys and Aled are once again reminded by how badly their childhood was for them.

Ljubili se - Glee

MY BABY. This is the sequel to Ljubim te, the fic where Kurt and Blaine meet in Ljubljana. Now they're back in America and long-distance, with Blaine being in LA and Kurt in NY. My main reason for being stuck is admittedly that it's getting too ambitious and I need to figure out how to tell a coherent sequel. It's quite difficult, because Ljubim te was written without a sequel in mind and without much space to do more, but I love this world I made so here I am anyway.

Dancin' on that bamboo ceiling - Glee

A series of standalone fic that explore Asian identity and casual racism in glee. I've been working on and off on it for years and I have published some. But I really want to finish more. Right now I have a story about traditional dress and feeling removed from your heritage in my mind.

The Sarah Jane Adventures Extended Universe (SJAEU) - The Sarah Jane Adventures

Yes, my SJAEU is back on my mind. It's a spin-off of the Sarah Jane Adventures (which is in itself a Doccy Whomst spin-off) and it focuses on Luke after he left Bannerman Road and well, my unofficial title is Luke's Big Gay Oxford Adventures. The thing I posted is an overview of the AU, but I have been cooking up actual fics that are set in this AU since 2017 and they're simmering again.

Also known as MCD! It's the seven years of Simon and Baz's rivalry (and eventual romance) from the perspective of an outsider who has absolutely nothing to do with it. After all, it must be fucking wild for Watford students to see this wacky enemy to lovers. Matty Chris D. is the blandest person you'll ever meet, which is also why I am stuck. Go Matt, give us nothing.

Untitled TOTK-inspired Snowbaz fic - Carry On

This was marinating in my brain recently. Not sure I will get back to it soon, but hey, it's on my mind! As the "title" suggests, it's a Tears of the Kingdom inspired Snowbaz fic, which takes place after Wayward Son. The gang is back from America to find floating islands in the sky of the World of Mages. 7 years after their return, and 7 years after Simon went missing, Baz decides to find a way to the sky islands in order to find Simon. I don't wanna brag, but this idea slaps and I should get back to it.

Glee x Sense8 crossover idea - Glee and Sense8

I came up with a Glee x Sense8 crossover years ago and this is also back again on my mind. Just like the SJAEU, it's more of a concept with some overall thoughts than an actual coherent fic. It's back in my 2024 vision because, hey, I posted the SJAEU, I could possible post my Glee x Sense8 AU on AO3, because I think it's pretty cool. And yes, it's a crossover, not an inspired by thing. The Glee part is entirely an AU, but the Sense8 part is post-canon where the BPO has reformed, so that the sensates can figure out their shit in peace. And also, Puck from Sense8 will show up at one point. Two Pucks in one fic (because Puck from Glee is one of the sensates).

Anyway I have many more WIPs, like the Zimbits time travel one, or the Glee x Carry On crossover (begone Klaine and Snowbaz, Blaz OTP!) and UGH so many WIPs. If you wanna send me an ask about any of these WIPs, feel free.

Mittens are you alive?

Yes? I slept kinda hard though, ngl. My last day to sleep in until the weekend. I just happened to have a 4 day weekend for my birthday. Normally on weekdays I've got like, 4 hours to take care of business before I gotta go to bed and I end up sleeping over 12 hours on Friday to Saturday, so my free time varies a bit. Anyway, as you can probably guess, my fursona is a tiger (actually what I call a tiggon) named Neptune. Tiggon is my way of denoting a tiger dragon hybrid. I know a tigon is a thing (tiger lion hybrid), so that's why there's two G's. Neptune was actually a name I considered while choosing for myself (I'm trans masc), but decided it worked better for my water powered fursona. Once I figure out how to use Krita properly and get some art done of him, plan on posting here about him. Plan on eventually making him my avatar, but until then, it's Wild from Linked Universe because he's my FAVORITE bean.

What else? I'm a writer (sorta, don't write much, just a small hobby) and love making OCs. Debating writing publicly about them, but for right now I'm not publishing anything. May change in the future once I finally work up the nerve. It's funny really. I'm a very "it's okay to be cringe, let people like what they like" person until it comes to my own work. Then it's all cringe and I'll be put to death for coming up with it. Ah, social anxiety and general self-esteem issues, my beloved. Right now I'm working on two fan-fics, one involving a TotK/AoC AU of mine and the other an AU of my TotK AU. The AU of the AU is inspired by an AU from a fic I've been reading, which is in and of itself an AU of a different comic series I've been reading. So... A fanfic of a fanfic of a fanfic involving three or four separate AUs? Huh, that's a lot of of's. Either way, neither of those is ever getting published, lol. Hell, they're barely getting written as is. Curse my inability to focus.

Anything else of note to share? Yes actually, but I think that's best saved for posts of their own. I'm done with that kind of sharing for now. My point in making this post, besides not looking like a bot, is to tell the void I'm new to it. I'm learning how things work. Etiquette around tags and reblogging (which stresses me the fuck out for no reason. I have this weird part to my anxiety where I absolutely DREAD being late. This is the worst in its "oh, I took too long to respond to that text, now I have to wait for them to text me again" form. This never works and ruins all my friendships. Despite repeated assurances that that's not an issue with reblogs, they still trigger that anxiety.) I make mistakes and don't talk a lot, even online, but I'm willing to learn. Will try to make it a habit to post things, but no promises. Might get better once I get more used to being on here. We'll see. Anyway, it late/early at the same time and I really need to get back to the real world. My favorite Link is waiting for me. We just 100%ed TotK (quests, Koroks, compendium, monster medals, and map) and I'm helping him create a full recipe book as celebration.
