A jack-of-all-trades who jumps from one hobby to another

Owns a market stall for their bits-and-bobs shop aptly named "Wren's Wriches" {the name that is carved into a wooden sign that swings from the stall's rickety roof that is holding on by one rusty hook {{the other rusted and fell away months ago}}}

They first come into contact with Lucas {and Ceres} while running their stall. They beckon the two over an insist on giving Ceres a ring as a token of good will. Lucas then officially introduces himself, mentioning that he teaches at the orphanages, and Wren says they recall hearing a lot about someone fitting his exact description and Lucas chuckles. Eventually, Lucas has to excuse himself and Ceres but Wren is able to get the general location of the orphanage Ceres lives at so they can visit later.

I feel like the movies ruined Jacobs character even more. In the books (after Jacob’s transformation) he’s like a “bad boy” but at the same time he’s still the sweet boy/best friend. Like for example, there’s a scene where Bella visits Jacob and they’re both jumping up and down in excitement and happy to see each other which is sooo fucking cute! And there always holding hands in a platonic way! But the movies only show Jacob as the shirtless dick that treats her bad. It’s frustrating.

yes yes yes yes yes!!! all of this!!!!! they were whole ass besties!!!! i hateeeee how they totally shot down jacob’s sense of humor in the movies, as well as bella’s sense of humor too. jacob and bella had a lot of good moments together and i wish we got to see more of them ://// one my biggest issue with the movies (besides the fact that there wasn’t really much horror to them until breaking dawn part 1 but that’s a different story) was that they took themselves waaaaay too seriously (esp after the first one) and cut out 90% of the humorous bits of dialogue that helped make the books tolerable.

you ain’t never lied on how they did jacob. jacob being turned into a shirtless dick that treats bella bad bc he phased was racist. idc idc idc. it would take too long to elaborate here (and others have already done so), but demonizing the native characters on top of making them half naked all the time was literally racist. if anyone disagrees go read a critical race theory soc textbook.

it also REALLY doesn’t fuckin help that jacob and bella’s movie counterparts weren’t..... that good. ik bella was supposed to be pretty bleak for the most part, but kristen was jaded as hell almost the entire time and bella’s sense of humor was lost in the sauce. like yeah kristen worked with what she had but movie bella and book bella were super different from what i recall (then again I also haven’t read a single twilight book since middle school and bella isn’t even in my top 3 favorite characters so idk)

and don’t even get me started on fucking taylor lautner....... (if anyone’s still reading this and likes taylor, keep scrolling bc I’m about to drag). that mf cannot act, isn’t even native american, and was a good 10 inches shorter than book jacob. i know they were probably on a time crunch to cast him and catherine hardwicke saw the first ethnic looking guy around and just went with it, but the first 3 books were all out by the time they were getting around to making the first movie. hardwicke is hailed as SUCH a fan of the series and SUCH a detailed filmmaker but how come the filmmakers on new moon could take the time to cast actual native americans but hardwicke couldn’t take the time to cast an actual native american too? especially the most important native character in the series??? idk but casting taylor was a mistake.

i kinda commend taylors dedication to the part by getting all buff so fast and subsequently dealing with all the (racialized [bc of his brownfishing]) sexual harassment and general perviness from women twice his fucking age without losing his damn mind tho. I’ll give him that. and you know what? taylor had a great smile for jacob with his megawatt ass toothpaste advertisement ass teeth. but he should’ve never been cast. I don’t think anyone understands how hard it is to be a team jacob thot knowing the jacob you’re a thot for is so much different than the jacob that you can actually see and hear in the films.

yes, mako knows haru well, but it's also true that he is good at reading people in general, not just haru. of course, haru is the person he can read most of all, but makoto can also read others.

wooooow that little part with haru taking off his swimcap and shaking his head as sparkling drops of water fall around him was one of the most magical moments of my life and i will cherish it forever.

ummm okay, that's it. the episode's over... i am sad because that was a fun episode to watch. i really liked it, and that's because this episode had a lot of makoto in it, so of course i'm going to like that. XD and i just loved seeing makoto discover some of his own strengths. he even figured out his new dream at the end. he's just so special!!!! he is someone who has a positive impact on other people around him, and that is so clearly seen. it makes a lot of sense that he wants to be a trainer. he knows how to bring out the potential in others, because he can understand their feelings and figure out the best way to challenge them and encourage them.

oh, and... as of now, it is a real, true, canon fact that makoto is good at massages, which is yet another thing that makes him more perfect. <333333 this is really important to me. no seriously, this is something that matters to me a lot. this is like if the writers had thought, "hmm. what can we make makoto do that would be the #1 most amazing wonderful thing that sachi-pon would love???" it's like they read my mind and are trying to appeal specifically to me!!! ^___^ this is exactly what i would have thought of... uh... i mean... already thought of. okay, i thought about this a long time ago. >///////< but now this has gone beyond my fangirl fantasy and is a real thing that exists in the actual show. XDDDD hooray!!!!!! *waves pom-poms like a cheerleader* now all i need is a scene of makoto using his massage skills on you-know-who, and i'll be fine. ^__^

yes, i do have a problem with being too addicted to makoto. no, i do not intend to see a doctor. i intend to live with this problem forever. <3

wait... were there other people in this episode too? i forgot about everyone else besides makoto. uh, oh yeah. there was haru. he was so sad after the loss, but i think he's starting to feel better now, so that's good. i was getting worried when he wasn't texting makoto. =( don't do that anymore, haru!!! ;__;

also, there was rin, and later, makoto, finding out about sousuke's surgery. both of them had such excited reactions!!! and yes, rin, you cried, admit it!!! (haha) but yeah, it just shows how much those two care about sousuke. i loved those moments!!!

i am so happy for the big reunion in the next episode. i think it's going to be a little crazy, but definitely a lot of fun!! and of course, rin and haru's big showdown. who will win?!?!?!? also, what about the mysterious alien god????? how can anyone defeat him? the only way to defeat him is for haru to... TURN INTO A MERMAN!!!!!!!!!! (yes, i am still talking about merman throughout this whole season)

of course! starting off with the theme & graphics — i love me a good fansite theme, as they’re easy to navigate, but i’m not a fan of themes that have massive headers. the sheer size of this header kinda lowers the quality of it a bit, and the image chosen isn’t anything particularly eye-catching. the text on the header is also kinda weird... i think just “fairfield prep” would suffice, without the added line. some of the other graphics are a little wonky too, like the ones that link to the plot, skeletons, and tour ( which you have spelled as “tourk,” by the way ). they look slightly... smushed? idk. i’m not big on the character graphics either, as they really don’t fit the vibe of the group for me at all. i think a switch of background + making both pictures of the fc black & white would make it look a bit better. in truth, i think the style of your icon - which i really dig - should’ve been utilized for the whole group. in regards to plot — this just seems like a typical high school secrets/mystery roleplay, which is fine, but you’ll definitely need something #fresh and #original to make it stand out. i know people love these sorts of groups, though, so you definitely have that going for you! plus, i always dig a solid skeleton group, so i’m a big fan of that. and finally, onto other aspects of the group — i like when groups have a locations page, but this one appears to be unfinished, so not much to say there. also, with the wanted fcs... one of my biggest pet peeves is when high school groups allow fcs who are waaaaay out of the range to be playing high schoolers to ... play high schoolers. maybe thats just a me thing, but it really takes me out of the group, so i’d just... look out for that. overall, as admins, you seem really dedicated to this group, but i definitely think there are improvements to be made. the base idea is solid, but some tweaks could definitely help this to stand out in the tags. i wish you the best of luck!!

January 2020 Wrap Up

I got back on track this month. Sadly this was not a good reading month, I didn't like or was pretty meh about a lot of this books so I did a massive unhaul this month to ensure I'll read books I am intrested in and want to read.

1.- Shadow Scale (Seraphina #2) - Rachel Hartman

🌟🌟🌟

I was so disappointed! I loved the 1st book so much, it had an amazing intresting world and politics but that got thrown out of the window in this one, the characters seem to even forget their relationships with each other and the villian is just badly constructed, the ending feels rushed and unsatisfactory, I just gave it 3 stars cuz i couldn't bear to give less stars to a world and characters I actually like.

2.- Heroes -Stephen Fry

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

I always love to re-read greek myths, and Stephen Fry makes really funny commentary and narrative decisions when it comes to his adaptations. It was a very enjoyable read.

3.- Love from A to Z - S.K Ali

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

I don't read much romance cuz a LOT of romance authors construct relationships I am not intrested in, but THIS. It was amazing, the way both characters saw the world was beautiful, all that pride for Muslim culture and the fight against islamophobia felt actual and relevant, I really liked both characters, and the way their relationship develops felt fitting to their personalities and ages and that is something that is so rare to find. I really recc this one.

4.- Once Upon a Burning Throne - Ashok K. Banker

🌟🌟🌟

So I really liked the beginning of the book, it had a super intresting premise and intresting characters along with high political stakes, but the conflict you get presented at the beginning never get a pay off, and it goes around many characters and plots that made me a bit confused so idk the ending was strong and I know it's a series but I don't think I am intrested in reading the rest cuz this one was pretty confusing for me.

5.- All the Crooked Saints - Maggie Stiefvater

🌟🌟

Sadly I think Maggie Stiefvater is not the author for me, I tried to get into Raven Boys but didn't liked it. I find her writing and characters to be a bit superficial, very aesthetic and quirky but ultimately completley one dimensional, the metaphors she uses make no sense, I do like when an author spices things up with the flow of their sentences and the words the use but Maggie Stiefvater's prose it's just too much for me.

6.- The Girl who Played with Fire (Millenium #2) - Stieg Larsson

🌟🌟🌟🌟

This is my first re-read of this book. I really liked this series when I 1st read them, but I found some stupid stuff that made me roll my eyes so hard cuz male authors writing woman sometimes lead to cringey stuff. Lisbeth Salander has always been one of my favorite characters, but she is very different in this book, I love the fact we get to see more of her past, that she has vulnerability but also she is so heavily coded as masculine that it exasperates me also LOL about every woman wanting to fuck Mikael, I have some amazing memories of this series (the 1st one is superior in every aspect imho) and I still love them but yeah I was a much different person and I like to critizise even the things that I like.

7.- North and South - Elizabeth Gaskell

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

I just love this book so much, the intricacies of industry and of the fair treatment of the workers, the differences of a life in a City vs life on the countryside in the middle of the Industrial Revolution. This book is so intelligent and layered. The characters are well defined and they develop so well. The romance!!! I just love it.

8.- Paper Tigers - Damien Angelica Walters

🌟🌟🌟

I was loving this book at the beginning, such an intresting concept, to have a possesed photo álbum, and to have a disabled protagonist dealing with her appereance and going out again it was hard hitting, I know this is horror but the ending broke my heart, it made me feel hopless and sad especially when the protagonist had already developed SO much it didn't felt like a victory even when the book tries to present it in that way.

9.- Morning Star (Red Rising #3) - Pierce Brown

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Favorite read of the month!!! This book was a rollercoaster, it had me at the edge of my seat all the time, I love the Red Rising series and this book its a perfect conclusion for this amazing story (I know there are still 2 books but idk if Darrow is the main character on those cuz his story and arc could very well end in this book) it was so satisfying and hopeful. This is what an ending should be.

10.- Black House (The Talisman #2) -Stephen King/ Peter Straub

🌟🌟🌟

I was so excited about reading this one because I loved the Talisman so much, but this book was HARD to get through. It needed some serious editing. Like it didn't feel like a sequel for the first 100 pages or so cuz we don't get to see Jake up until that point, and there is waaaaay to much unnecesary exposition that took away from the suspenseful stuff, also it was kinda repetitive and that annoyed me. Gosh I know lots of people say this particular era on SK writing career was bad, and they not lying, I just can't connect like I did before (though I know it gets better cuz his recent books are good)

11.- China's Rich Girlfriend (Crazy Rich Asians #2) - Kevin Kwan

🌟🌟🌟

I mean it was ok, like some things get resolved, so plot wise we do get a development and I dare say some characters do develop. Tbh I don't take these too seriously they are just outrageous and dramatic, I have fun reading them and I am wondering how some of the plots will translate into the movie .

12.- The Revisioners - Margaret Wilkerson Sexton

🌟🌟🌟🌟

Magical Realism is my jam, I really enjoyed this one, though the ending was kinda meh and I feel the magical aspect could have been given more significance. The story was beautiful and impactful.

13.- Scarlett (Lunar Chronicles #2) Marissa Meyer

🌟🌟

I did find this book more enjoyable than Cinder, and the concept of fairytales in space seems wonderful to me, but I just think they are too juvenile for me, like i know if I had read them when I was younger I would have loved them but now I just go my my through the book hoping for more complexity and so I decided not to read them anymore cuz it's not fair for me to judge books that are definitely not directed towards me.

14.- Dark Reunion (Vampire Diaries #4) - L.J Smith

🌟🌟🌟

I am reading these cuz I wanted to know just how different they were from the TV series (the answer is VERY) and they are really enjoyable, they have this dark atmospheric tone but are still super campy and cliché but not so much that it's unbearable, idk I just really like to read them and they are so short it's super motivating knowing I can just relax reading one of these.

15- Vengeful (Villians #2) - V. E Schwab

I just love the characters and the world so much!!!!! I need more books of this universe cuz it really gives for so much more.

16.- Puddin' (Dumplin' #2) - Julie Murphy

These books are so cute. Honestly no shade to Willowdean but I liked this book much more than the 1st and I loved that we had Millie and Callie as protagonists, their friendship was great and I just really liked this book so much I hope it gets a movie too.

17.- Suspicious Minds - Gwenda Bond

I liked some stuff but honestly I couldn't help but think of a book that have a similar concept but it's way better (Firestarter) and I guess that's what happens when you rely on a concept that has already been succesful. Like it's pretty clear this was written to get money out of Stranger Things fans and that doesn't sit to well with me,
