In the dnd au, how did the whole.... Well you listed Eret and George both as rulers(which I want to know more about because in canon they aren't king at the same time and there's a whole power struggle with that), and also you said all the rulers know what's going with Dream, I'm assuming George and Dream were close friends at some point since from what you've said the canon plot seems fairly intact just in dnd so how does George feel about it all
Hope these questions made some amount of sense :)
Oh dnd!eret and george my beloveds my absolute beloved (I really love them in this au)

So for the dnd au I had to modify some things (that’s why some things feel different but also the basics of what happened are the same) so for this au, The Kinoko Kingdom is actually originally the ‘first’ Kingdom in the continent. It was originally shrouded by the feywild and didn’t show itself until Philza’s kingdom (at the time named Emerald’s Crow) was formed. Philza ruled for a long time before he left but George was the king of that at some point when it happened— I’m too tired to do math but George is a wood elf in this au so he’s older than Dream by a small bit :3 so George originally ruled the feywild and that area as the other kingdoms slowly formed.
Meanwhile Eret’s Kingdom is the newest one to be formed! It was formed before Philza left so they had rocky footing, and Eret being also an elf (I forgot which subrace but I wanna say star elf) needed help— so he formed very strong alliances with L’Manberg right after Wilbur was reigned king and Kinoko, due to Dream’s influence.
Now Dream has a big part in this because Eret does value Wilbur and his alliance/friendship, but Dream was persuading him to go to a different direction and basically betray him all in the name of wanting to protect the kingdom she loved and cared about, so Eret believed him!
And the betrayal happened and things went- wrong really.
Mainly Eret feeling guilty because yeah she finally got her kingdom feeling safe but not feeling right about it, and there was an intense conversation between her and Dream which resulted in her being overthrown and Kinoko Kingdom expanding and taking over Eret’s Kingdom which EVERYONE immediately was on high alert for and realized this was a problem bc George basically overthroned her.
And eventually Eret had to have an audience with Wilbur where she miraculously didn’t executed right then and there and Wilbur helped (along with all the other kingdoms) to reclaim her kingdom back as long as she changed the name and swore under oath that she is to never do something in similar vein like that that can end up risking the whole continent as well as to stop supporting the other kingdom— so she agreed.
So Eret’s Kingdom is now called Withering Hope! And that oath she made plays a big part since Cala well- basically is doing something that breaks it and she is close to Eret.
And Queen Eret and George don’t interact unless Royal meetings where the monarchs have to convene and those are.. rough.

As for the second part of the ask, oh yes absolutely. Dream and George were very close (like close) but Dream unfortunately never took it romantically with George, for a number of reasons. Mainly because he knew that if he did, it would make Dream have a weakness and even though he genuinely loved and cared about his King he couldn’t ever admit those feelings. So that’s why he was with Fundy since he solely sought it as beneficial (but then he realized he actually liked him too and then things got messy quick).
But anyways! Only the monarchs and their close ones know about Dream being in the prison- no one knows he’s been tortured obviously they just think he’s contained. And George- is conflicted.
Because on one hand Dream at the end kinda had an argument with him and Sapnap and they both realized that he wasn’t helping the kingdom but helping for his own selfish needs- and that broke George’s trust immensely.
The other hand… he can’t help but to worry for his friend.
But he doesn’t visit or even ask about him, he knows that it’s a door long closed now and he moves on… *gestures to DreamXD who is literally one of the gods in the au*
He honestly didn’t expect Dream to escape until he heard the news because when Dream escaped Q alerted the monarchs specifically and requested basically an emergency private meeting with all of them.
And George has a whirlwind of feelings on that- he’s scared, angry.. hopeful?
He’s just a confused mess ok this because the relationship is too damaged to be fixed so he has to act like well.. a king and be cordial.
But Sapnap doesn’t!
