✿ Omelette ✿
A/N: A little fic based on one of the prompts I have~
Summary: Sanji finds you cooking an omelette in your underwear at an ungodly hour.
Content: Warning - my really bad attempt at writing anything outside of lil paragraph points (blz help, I have no idea what I'm doing)
Despite the scenario - it's all SFW and fluffy like dem eggs! A light dusting of pining, G/N reader. ✿
(Part 2) - (Part 3)
You had tried to sleep and ignore the rumbling in your stomach, but the harder you tried, the more you felt it, and you had finally reached your limit. If you were to be at all functional tomorrow, you needed to eat something. Only then could you try to sleep again.
Exhausted, you drag yourself from the safety and warmth of your blankets, slowly ambling towards the ship's kitchen, single-minded in your endeavour. All that mattered was appeasing your stomach, leaving you completely unaware of the sudden cold that embraced you once you had left the confines of your quarters.
Flicking on the kitchen light, you quickly gathered everything you needed, deciding that the best thing to make would be an omelette. It's an easy dish, filling, and doesn't take long to make. In other words; it was perfect!
You make quick work of prepping the eggs, seasoning to taste, even considering throwing a little cheese in there before deciding against it. It's not like you believed the myth of cheese giving people nightmares if eaten before bed, but you were so desperate to be able to sleep afterwards that you didn't want to risk it. Stranger things have happened on this ship.
The pan hisses as you pour in the eggs, sounding much louder in the empty kitchen, only amplified by the late hour.
"Don't you sass me," you grumble, "The middle of the night is a perfectly acceptable time for an omelette!"
Unbeknownst to you, you weren't the only one awake on the ship, and your late night excursion had attracted attention, clearly not having noticed any of the noise you were making.
"I thought Luffy had snuck in on a midnight raid with all the clattering," a groggy voice behind you laughs, but you are too tired and focused on cooking to even register that you had been joined by anyone. Sanji leans against the table opposite the kitchen island, fidgeting with the hem of his nightshirt, waiting for an answer that never came.
Surely you heard him, right?
"Is everything alright, darling?"
Nothing.
Terms of endearment usually prompted some kind of response, be it a dismissive laugh or an equally fond term of your own, clearly thinking they meant nothing in particular. He'd accepted pretty quickly that they wouldn't be the way to win you over, but it certainly didn't stop him using them, at least on you. The same couldn't be said about everyone else, as he was no longer vying for the affection of anyone but yourself. Sanji wondered if you'd ever noticed that.
A clumsy flip of the omelette brought him back into the moment, honestly surprised that you hadn't dropped it on the floor.
He moved his way to your side of the kitchen, round the central island toward the stovetop.
"Why are you cooking at this hhhh-" he wheezed at the end, only now seeing that you weren't in the pyjama bottoms he'd assumed you'd be wearing, but in your underwear.
He clasped one of his hands over his mouth, the other grabbing the island for support as he felt his legs begin to fail him. Keeping his eyes fixed firmly on the floor, he blurts out, "W-WHERE ARE YOUR PANTS?" as his face went fully crimson.
That finally gets your attention, but you are slow on the uptake, mind completely glazing over the fact that you had at some point gained an observer. Finally, furrowing your brows a little, you murmured a soft "What?" You knew a question was asked, but nothing else beyond that.
"Your pants, darling!" he gestures wildly, continuing to look down, knowing if that he caught sight of your bare legs again, he would lose his mind.
You stand there, pan hovering in the air away from the stove in one hand, a plate in the other, looking absolutely lost; you had completed your mission of acquiring omelette, and so your brain had decided it was no longer needed. Looking down, you see your legs and feet, wiggling your toes a little, then you look back up at the mess of a man in front of you, things finally starting to fall into place in your overtired mind.
"Oh, Sanji, what are you doing here," you ask, sweet as anything, completely ignorant to the battle he was waging internally. Once you plate your omelette, you place it on the island before putting the pan back on the stove to cool and grabbing a fork to tuck in, oblivious to Sanji frantically unbuttoning his night shirt beside you. He refuses to look directly at you until he has covered you with it, cheeks noticeably burning with how flustered he is.
"Darling, you can't do that to me," he says, almost breathless, "I am a weak, weak man; I can't handle seeing you so bare!" He manipulates your arms into the sleeves of his nightshirt, ignoring your protests when he briefly pulls the fork out of your hand in the process, before buttoning you up, doing his best to preserve your dignity.
As you feel the warm sustenance finally begin to settle in your empty stomach, you feel your brain booting back up, at least a little bit.
"Ah, shit I forgot to put on pants..." You giggle, wondering why everything was always funnier when you were tired. Taking another bite of food, you look down at your legs once again, starting to fully comprehend the situation you found yourself in. "I guess I was just too hungry." He can't help but sigh at how nonchalant you are.
Looking back up, your brain once again decides to abandon you, not from how tired you are this time, but from your eyes being met with his bare chest and abs, causing your own face to turn a charming shade of red. Sanji was always so neatly dressed, so he most you ever saw was his forearms when he rolled up his sleeves to work. It made sense that he was in good shape given his fighting ability, but it never really hit you until you saw his body tonight. There wasn't really any way to get accustomed to it, not like there was with someone like Zoro, who had his shirt off at least half the times you saw him, flashing his man tits whenever and wherever he damn well pleased.
Sanji's eyes never left you during this quiet minute, one that felt like hours, and he couldn't help but feel a hint of pride when he watched your eyes dance over his shirtless body, clearly flustered, bringing a confident smile to his face.
"Everything alright down there, sweetheart," he laughed softly.
You were clearly lost in your thoughts, it finally clicking why he was shirtless; he'd put his shirt on you. You brought a long sleeve up to your face as you dragged your eyes away, looking awkwardly to the side to your recently emptied plate. The shirt smelt like him, only without the lingering scent of cigarette smoke. It was sweet and musky. Maybe it was the lack of sleep, but you felt a wave of feelings crash into you. Feelings you knew were there but had simply brushed aside, assuming they were just a result of his natural charm more than anything. But, you couldn't so easily disregard them now.
Sanji followed your gaze. "Ah, don't you worry about that, my dear," he says, grabbing the plate and bringing it to the sink, leaving you standing in a bit of a daze. "I'll take care of things here, so you go and get yourself back to bed, alright?"
"Oh, no!" You couldn't help how loud that ended up being, surprising the both of you. "You shouldn't have to clean up my mess," you say with a more regulated volume. If there's one way to get you back in the present, it's offering to do something you feel solely responsible for.
"In all fairness, darling, you shouldn't have been cooking in my kitchen in a state of undress," his cheeks started to go pink at the recent memory. He clears his throat before continuing, "Do you know how dangerous that is?" Ah, the professional chef just can't help himself when it comes to kitchen rules.
You pout slightly as you lean back against the centre island.
"Sorry, Sanji. I wasn't really with it. Too tired, too hungry..."
He makes quick work of the dirty items you had used, all while prattling on about safety and other things you probably should have listened to. Drying his hands, he makes his way back to you. It is evident you hadn't really been paying attention.
"At least promise me this," you look up at his warm, smiling face, "if you ever find yourself in this predicament again, please come and get me."
He brushes back some loose strands of hair, tucking them neatly behind your ear.
"You know that I'm always happy to cook for you, right? Whatever you want, whenever you want it."
Returning a gentle smile of your own, you nod.
"I promise."
With that, Sanji leads you out of the kitchen, plunging it back into darkness as he flicks the light off.
You reach his quarters first since he's closest to the kitchen. He pauses outside his door, hesitating for a moment. There are so many things he wanted to say to you, yet he couldn't bring himself to utter a single word.
Oblivious, you carry on toward your own room, turning back to him to wish him a good night, nearly falling over your own feet in the process, to which he smiles, letting out a soft chuckle.
"Bonne nuit, ma chère."
Guys, gals, and non-binary pals; I tried my best! This is my very first full fic ever, so if the grammar, wording, presentation, literally anything is bad; it's bc I am completely winging it! ∠( ᐛ 」∠)_

THE HEART OF A SHIP
a/n: this fic is a result of wine and rewatching the force awakens. honestly my brain always short circuits whenever oscar isaac comes on screen. so i had to do something. it was meant to be small, but i literally couldn't stop writing so it became this. it's an idea that has been lingering in my head for awhile, i just had to let it simmer for a bit. and now it's fully cooked.
summary: you and poe were inevitable. two asteroids set on a course to crash into one another. a celestial event that would happen whether you wanted it or not. you just never expected it to happen so soon.
word count: 3.4k+
pairing: poe dameron x f!reader
warnings: EXPLICIT SO MINORS DNI, alcohol consumption, love confessions sort of??, poe being romantic as fuck, p in v sex, guided masturbation, biting, sex in an x-wing, sex in a public place, unedited but we live and die by the fucking pen.
Intoxicating.
That was the only way you’d describe him. The only word that ever did him justice. He was the human embodiment of an Antakarian Fire Dancer. You got hammered on it one year after two glasses of the amber liquid, proceeding to forget half the night yet eager for more. Nothing could describe the man before you better. It simply wouldn’t do him justice. He was the itch beneath your skin that you could never satisfy, the reason you stood there now.
A glass of that amber liquid in both hands.
He’d disappeared from the celebration. An hour in from congratulations and happy faces, you watched him leave when no one was looking. And you did nothing to stop it. You knew he wasn’t one to relish in the joys of battle well done. Always intent on focusing towards the next thing—the next fight. It’s how you knew Leia would make him General, why he was so good at leading, at keeping the people he loved safe.
“Leaving without saying goodbye is rude, you know.”
He jumped slightly where he stood, his back to you, a holopad in one hand and a tool in the other. Of course he’d be here, fixing his X-Wing in silence. His own little ritual. You couldn’t count how many times you found him here after a fight, finalizing the last few checks before he caught some sleep. If he slept at all. Poe always seemed to be on the move no matter the time of day—a constant in the Resistance even when everyone else seemed to have lost faith.
“I said goodbye,” he joked, head turning slightly to see you come around, the holopad getting traded for a glass. “Just couldn’t see you in the crowd.”
You smiled. “You’re a shit liar Dameron.”
“I know.” He took a sip, winced, and laughed—the sound practically lighting you up inside. Igniting you like a fucking lightsaber.
“What’s the damage report?”
“Nothing I can’t fix.” He glanced back at the scraped up hunk of metal he loved more than anything. The amount of care he put into keeping her going was admirable—if a little insane at times.
But he was right. The damage was nothing he couldn’t fix.
“Are you sure you don’t need help?” The smile still played on your lips, eyes alight and aiming to start something you wanted him to finish.
Poe caught onto it quicker than you expected. He could see it before you followed him out of the celebration. A promise that lingered in the air from months of longing looks and timid words. Something inevitable and real. So much so that you were willing to bet everything that he felt exactly the same way you did.
You wanted each other. That was clear from day one. But doing something about it became difficult when war was a constant and lives were put in peril on the daily. Poe didn’t want to leave you broken beyond repair if he never made it back. Just as you didn’t want to do the same to him.
The fucked up thing about it though was Poe would mourn you either way. He’d live his life half a man if you never graced him with your presence again. If you weren’t around to smile at him from across rooms and laugh at his shitty jokes. He was pretty sure he’d already started. Being away from you was like a poison he constantly had to take, a pain he didn’t want to endure. And if it were up to him…he’d choose you every time.
No matter the consequences.
“You ever been in an X-Wing before?” he asked, trying to see past the bits and pieces of the ache that hurt you both.
You rolled your eyes and Poe felt his chest tighten. “You know I haven’t. I’m not pilot material.”
“Sounds like bantha shit to me starlight.”
The name you’d heard so many times before echoed differently to you now. You wanted to break through its meaning and find the promise within. The antidote to this fucking ache that stuck to your chest. You wanted to rip it out and grind it up. You wanted to finally take what you desired, relish in the feel of calling him yours without the pain of knowing what came next. The both of you were trying to save your emotions—protect yourselves—but there was no use.
Poe had found a home in your heart and he was there to stay.
“Come with me.”
When it came to him you had no choice but to listen, following dutifully behind in a haze of want. He climbed up the ladder on the side of his ship, plopping down into the seat with the grace of a pilot who’d done it a million times before. The movement now muscle memory at this point. Whereas you clambered up—buzzed on one drink—nearly falling into the cockpit. He grabbed your arm at the last minute, helping you slowly maneuver your way in, until you were perched on this lap.
The seat was barely big enough to fit him let alone you as well. And yet…you’d never felt more comfortable. He pulled you back slightly, hands pressed to your hips, chest snugly placed against your back. With every intake and exhale of breath, you felt him move. Felt his body shift. If you focused, you knew you would be able to feel his heartbeat. The rhythmic thump you’d grown accustomed to.
“Now—“ He precariously balanced his glass on the dash. “Your hands go here.” Covering your hands with his, he showed you how he’d position himself if he were flying. The cold touch of the buttons and knobs beneath your fingers sent electricity up your spine. “These are to shoot.” Another shift. “And this is to aim.”
You sucked in a breath. “Seems complicated.”
“Not at all.” His fingers slid up your arm, chin coming to rest on your shoulder. You tried to remember how to take a single breath. “You just have to understand how the ship works. How she moves, what she likes.”
Your breath hitched, body leaning into him more, and finally you felt it. The wall holding both of you back crumbled to the ground. All that remained now was the will to finally do something about it. So you let his hands guide you, watching in anticipation as they moved to your own body, pressing your palms into your stomach.
“There’s always a heart of a ship,” he murmured, moving your hand down. “A pilot guiding the way.”
“Poe…”
"After all, we've got to guide the ship back home." A soft whimper left your lips, your nails digging into the meat of your thighs to contain yourself. If the cockpit of his ship wasn't so fucking small, you had no doubt you'd be spread on his lap, lips connected to his already.
He grinned, his lips brushing across the back of your neck. “For me…” He stopped right above the hem of your pants, your fingers aching to finally delve down further. “That’s always been you.”
The alcohol had all but burned out of your system from how warm you were. His touch guiding yours seemed to have lit something in the base of your stomach, causing it to spread outwards. And you needed more. Your head fell back against his shoulder, eyes fluttering shut as he pressed your hand beneath the coarse fabric of your pants. The feeling of him cupping your mound—using you all the while—sent a jolt across your body; a soft moan falling free past your lips.
“Maker starlight,” he said, his voice hoarse with desire. “You’re so fucking wet.”
He wasn't wrong. You could feel yourself dripping the longer he spoke, his words affecting you more than you anticipated. Ever since you first met, Poe always held a power over you. A reminder that no matter how many times you tried to rid yourself of him, no matter what you did...he would remain burned into your soul. He'd be part of you until you drew your final breath in this galaxy.
"It's cause of you," you gasped, your fingers and his sliding through your slick. Running along the lips of your cunt, skimming past your clit entirely. "Oh—"
The scrape of his teeth along your neck nearly did you in entirely, the plea hanging off the tip of your tongue in anticipation. He was toying with you. Playing you like a fucking instrument and listening to your melody. Drowning in the sounds you made—the ones he dreamed of. If there was a life after this, a fated place he could go to rest, he'd want it to be here. Crammed into this cockpit with you on his lap, the feel of you sliding through his fingers and the echo of your voice breathing his name sweeter than the alcohol you had handed him earlier.
Poe would do whatever he could to make this moment last just a minute longer.
"Need you."
He kissed the junction where your neck and shoulder met, fingers still guiding yours through your own heat. "I know you do starlight. But you're gonna cum for me like this first." Your sweet little gasp ripped him a part. He had to squeeze his eyes shut to stave off nearly coming in his pants. "Let me guide you."
You nodded and spread your legs as wide as they could go in the cramped space. It wasn't very far, nor did it give him space to do what he really wanted to do to you, but it would have to do for now. The noise of the celebration in the distance only grew louder as people consumed more alcohol, the joy bleeding into the air. But you couldn't give a shit at that moment about why they were happy, or even what occurred before today.
You were lost to the depths that Poe pulled you into.
Heat spilled between your fingertips, a sticky mess starting between the two of you, but that seemed to only drive him forward. He pressed down, sliding your fingers into you with ease, his delving in right beside you—stretching you in a way that had your back arching. Wrapped his arm around your waist, he kept you still, his chin set on your shoulder and chest heaving with controlled breaths. A way for him to keep the last bits of his sanity as he felt your walls clamp around his fingers.
"Fuck baby," he grit between clenched teeth. "You really did need me huh?"
Nodding, you felt him press even further, fingers searching for something.
"You're gonna make a mess on me." Pumping his hand, he felt your body shudder—your mouth falling open as a ragged moan echoed in the ship. "Gonna take me so easily. I'll slip right in."
You burned from the inside out. A searing heat pulling tight across your body until you could nothing but fall into it. There was no fighting against that aching bliss, no running from what you wanted, what you dreamed of. Poe was intent on breaking you apart right there on his lap, and he'd watch with a smile on his face as you spilled yourself between the rough pads of his fingers. As you made a fucking mess on his lap.
"C'mon baby," he muttered, curling his fingers forward and nudging against something blinding. You cried out, hand grasping at his wrist to either pull him away or keep him right there. You couldn't tell at this point. And he smiled. "Is that it?" Rubbing against the spongy patch along your walls, he felt your entire body lock up, a whimpered sob breaking from your chest. "Yeah. That's fucking it."
You tried to warn him, his name a garbled echo of nonsensical letters on your tongue. But he already knew. His hand sped up, practically pushing your fingers out of the way as he gave you everything you wanted. Poe was certain that he wanted this more than you, that deep down he needed to know that you came because of him. That he was capable of turning you into a sobbing mess.
The echo of his pained grunt was loud in your ears, his hips pressing up into you to relieve the pressure of need he felt, and that's what did it. The knowledge that he was as gone as you were. That he had always wanted you.
Your walls fluttered around his fingers, a splintered moan falling past your parted lips as the pleasure spilled over. And he buried his face into your neck, a broken sound of his own muffled by your warm skin. He fought against finishing, biting into your shoulder as he worked you through your release. Adamant to make this last for you—to drag you to the Maker and back with a sated smile on your face.
Eventually you couldn't take it anymore, pleasure bleeding into pain, and you dragged his hand away. A breathless sigh of his name shooting right to his cock.
Without knowing it you had broken him for anyone else. Obliterated his ability to ever see someone the way he saw you.
You and your beauty. Your ability to render him speechless, breathless, and at your fucking mercy. For so long he was the ship lost in space with no sense of direction to lead him back to something real, a purpose. But then you settled into his heart. You became his pilot, guiding him through the never-ending void of space. You kept him afloat even as the weight of the galaxy threatened to drag him down, happy to watch him crash and burn in as so many others had done before.
"That was new," you giggled, hand reaching back to run through his hair.
He smiled, his heart twisting in his chest and fingers still covered in your slick coming to grip at your hips. "To think..." Pressing your ass down against his hard cock, he felt the breath hitch in your chest. "We could have been doing this the whole time."
"W-What a loss," you breathed, that now familiar all encompassing need filling your veins once more.
As if he knew your body so well already, he began to pull at your pants, helping you strip yourself to the best of your ability. The soft clinking of his belt echoed loudly in the cockpit and for a moment you were sure that people in the distance could hear it. But that thought quickly left your mind the second you felt the hot skin of his cock pressing against your lower back—his precum wet and sticky now smeared against your skin. Saliva filled your mouth, the ache pulling at your chest, clawing its way to the surface.
You didn't simply want him. That was too small of a word to explain the feeling in your body. You breathed for him. You lived for him. Poe was the blood that streamed in your veins, the reason your heart beat the way it did. Because it beat for him.
"Say you want this," he grunted, grinding against your skin, his fingers digging in harder than before. Until blood nearly pricked at the surface.
"Yes." The word was out of your mouth before he could even finish speaking. "Maker, I've wanted this for so long."
A growl hit your ears, his nose pressed into your back as he lifted you slightly, and you felt like you would rip to shreds if he didn't hurry. The head of his cock pressed against your entrance, sliding into you with slippery ease. And you pressed back against him, desperate to feel him sink into you fully. To be stretched out around his cock. Poe choked on his breath when your warm heat encompassed his throbbing length so suddenly, nearly throwing him off the edge entirely.
"Fuck starlight. You're gonna have to give me a second."
Your lips curled up into a grin. "Yes, General."
For a moment Poe could only process the breaths he took, the word entering his already blank mind. It wasn't until a searing heat shot up his spine at the sound of his title leaving your lips, did he fully understand. His hips pushed up into you, forcing him to sink just a bit deeper. You clutched at the side of the ship, your eyes fluttering shut at the feeling. The position had him pressing right along your walls, the underside of his cock grinding blissfully against you.
"I used to think you had no idea." He pushed you up slightly until his cock was halfway out and he glanced down, moaning at the sight of him covered in your slick. Only to pull you back down hard. Your choked cry was like music to his ears. "Didn't know what you do to me. How my whole fucking body belonged to you."
"Poe—"
He repeated the movement, smiling at the noises that came free. "But I was wrong."
A pressure quickly built in the base of your stomach, threatening to destroy you. And you chased it. Meeting his thrusts, you fucked yourself on his cock, hands pressed to the dash in front of you and back arched to find the perfect angle that made your toes curl in your boots. Ragged breaths filled the space, accompanied by broken moans and stunted grunts. Each one louder than the last as you both took and took and took, until the very edge of bliss mounted in your bodies.
He gripped the back of your neck, hand fisting at your hair as he pulled you back roughly against his chest. And you fell into it. Whining his name when he grinded up slowly, your walls clamped down around his cock. You could barely see straight through the burn of tears that glazed your eyes, a fucked out expression painted perfectly on your face. And Poe wished he could see you from where he was, catch a glimpse of the way your eyes rolled back, neck on display for him to bite.
"You know exactly what you do to me, starlight." His mouth fell open in a silent moan when his balls drew up painfully, cock throbbing along your walls. He quickly shoved his hand into your slick, fingers locating your clit with ease.
"Maker—" You heard him bite out your name like a prayer he couldn't get out fast enough. A plea for you to give him everything you had, everything that made you who you were. "I'm— Fuck I-I'm—"
"Yes," he groaned, using his other hand to cup your chin and pull your lips to his. Finally kissing you after years of dreaming it would happen. "Fucking give it to me baby."
His tongue licked into your mouth, swallowing every sound you made with ease. The feel of his lips against yours shoved you towards your release. A muffled cry of his name echoing in his mouth as your body went taut, thighs quaking as you gushed on his cock. He choked, mouth open and panting against yours, following you instantly and spilling into your cunt—filling you until you were sure it was dripping out of you and gathering at the base of him.
"Yours," he sighed against your lips, thumb running along the top of your cheek. "'M yours."
The twist of your heart brought you down from your high, your eyes fluttering open as he stared at your kiss swollen lips, the way his spit smeared along your bottom one. You expected him to take it back once he slipped out of you. Surely this was nothing but a dream, a moment in time that may never happen again. But in his eyes you saw devotion. You saw the inevitable future that was always bound to happen.
"Me too."
He smiled, nose brushing against yours. "Guess we're stuck with each other starlight."
"That doesn't sound too bad to me, General."
He tsked under his breath, fingers coming to grip your chin—brown eyes flashing up to meet your gaze. "You're causing trouble."
You grinned, grinding on his softened cock that was still buried deep in you. "And if I am?"
The feeling of his cock twitching inside you, slowly growing hard with interest. "Hands on the controls baby." He nipped at your bottom lip. "You know what to do."
A soft flutter filled your stomach as you followed his direction. Taking the lead in a dance that you were now familiar with. With Poe everything came with ease, as if you'd gone through it with him hundreds of times over. And guiding him home was just the beginning.

ella toone x reader
first ella toone fic! was in the drafts for a while and got around to finally finishing it. honestly don’t know where i was going with this
———
You had a reputation.
Once you turned eighteen, you started to rebel, wanting to make your point across. At eighteen, you started getting tattoos and buzzed all your hair, looking completely different from the colorful person you used to be. You wanted to steer away from the child everyone sees you to be and be seen more of an adult. The thing is, your management thought that the only way to do that is to make you out to be a womanizer, getting girls left and right.
The smoking, though, that was on you. Becoming well known starting at the age of fifteen, you’ve been under the spotlight from a young age, being told how to dress, how to act, everything in your life was controlled. The smoking, getting tattoos, cutting your hair was a way for you to get some of the control back.
You are now twenty-five. Fired your old management, signed into a new label who let you be you. Its been two years and you’ve been writing and producing songs on low profile. Your fans still figure out which songs have been written/produced by you - even under pseudonyms. You were loving being out of the spotlight for once.
—
The sun shining through the curtains wakes you up from your sleep, eyes fluttering shut from the light. Your arm tightens its hold from the body it’s slung over, pulling them close.
“Mmm, five more minutes.”
You didn’t reply, just pulled her closer than she already is, drifting back to sleep. About an hour later, you wake up to footsteps running around. Sitting up, back resting against the headboard, you see your girlfriend running around, stuffing things into her training bag. You sat there quietly, admiring your her chaotic form rushing in and out the room.
“You’re staring.”
“Just admiring.” You mouth twitching up in amusement.
“Well, I need to leave now or I’ll be late.”
“Did you pack any going out clothes? Wanna take you out after training.”
“Yeah, but what about my car?”
“I’ll take a cab to the facility. Wait for you.”
“Alright, text me when you’re there.” She leans down, giving you a kiss. “I love you.”
You grab the back of her neck and pull her back when she moves away, pulling her back in for another kiss.
“I love you. Now, go before you’re late.”
“See you soon.”
To make time go by faster, you decided to busy yourself with some cleaning around the house. You quite liked being a little housewife for Ella, cooking, cleaning, waiting for her to get back home from training.
Few hours later, dressed casual, you’re in a cab on the way to St. George’s Park. paying the cab driver, you walk to the parking lot looking for Ella’s car.
Rockstar 🎸🖤
at the car. forgot the spare key. take your time
Looney Toones ❤️⚽️
give me a few minutes
You leaned against the car, answering some messages and emails from your phone. You were too focused to notice a couple of footsteps coming towards you.
“Uh, excuse you. Don’t lean on the car.”
You look up, taking the hood off your head, to see Ella’s best friend, Alessia, and one other.
“Oh, sorry.”
“Hold on.” Mary, the goalkeeper that Ella’s told you about, spoke up. “Why do you look so familiar?”
Before you could answer, you’re cut off by a very loud voice.
“We’re matching!”
Your face instantly lights up at the voice of your girlfriend.
“What a coincidence!”
“Ha. Ha.” Ella realizes you, once again, matched with her on purpose. “What is it with you wanting to match with me?” She smiles at you with adoration.
You shrug. “You ready to go?”
The clearing of a throat breaks the two of you out of your bubble, forgetting about the other two Lionesses.
“Uh, Tooney?”
“Yeah?”
“Who’s this?”
Ella’s face lights up. “Oh! This is me girlfriend, Y/N!”
“Nice to meet your two!” You hold your hand out, but it was just stared at. You let out a chuckle, awkwardly putting your hand back down. “Ready to go?”
“Yeah. Bye guys.”
Mary and Alessia watch as the car drives off with their friend inside.
“I remember now! She’s Y/N Y/LN. The one I’ve seen on the news always bringing a new one home.”
“What do you mean?”
“I mean I wouldn’t be surprised if Ella was just another one of her conquests.”
The next day at training, Mary and Alessia approach Ella during break.
“Hey, guys!” Ella greeted them cheerfully.
“Hey, Ella. Uh, just some questions.”
“What is it?”
“Your girlfriend. You know who she is right?”
Ella was now confused. “Uh, yeah. Of course I do.”
“Well, we’re just worried.”
“About?” Now Ella was getting a bit impatient.
“She’s a bit off a womanizer isn’t she?” Alessia blurts out, speaking up for the first time.
“Excuse me?”
“She’s always seen with a new girl hanging by her arm like every week.”
“I’m not having this conversation.”
“Look, Tooney. We’re just looking out for you.”
“Looking out for me? Nah, I’m done with this conversation.”
You were in the backyard when you heard the front door slam shut. Looking towards the door, you see your girlfriend stomping towards you and plopping down on your lap.
“What’s happened?”
“Ugh! Can you believe Mary and Less? They had the nerve! The nerve to accuse you of being with me only temporarily.”
“What else did they say?”
“They were talking ‘bout how you always have anew girl hanging off your arm and stuff, but those were from years ago before you fired everyone.”
You wrap your arms tighter around her, pulling her closer. “Well, I mean, look at it from their perspective. They’ve never met me, they don’t know me like you do. All they have is what they’ve seen online. And they’re your best mates, they’re looking out for you.”
After a few moments of silence, Ella now has a look of determination on her face. She grabs her phone and sends out a text.
“They’ll be here in a couple minutes.”
Your eyes almost pop out of their sockets.
“What do you mean in a couple minutes. I haven’t even cleaned the house yet.”
You run around the house picking up anything you could see to put away, wanting to make a good first- technically second- impression with Ella’s best friends.
“Babe.”
You go to grab the vacuum.
“Baby.”
You also grab a broom because what if the vacuum isn’t enough.
“Baby!” She grabs you by the shoulders to keep you in place. “Breathe.” You do as she says. “Okay. The house isn’t even messy and even if it was, they’d know it was from me.”
You nod your head. “True.”
Exactly as Ella stated, there was a knock on your front door a couple of minutes later. She greets them, letting them in and goes to stand next to you.
“This is Y/N. My girlfriend, as I stated yesterday.”
“Hi, nice to meet you both.” You give them a small wave.
Mary’s lips form a straight line while Alessia gives you a small smile in greeting.
“Let me get us something to drink.” Ella announces, leaving the three of you alone.
“What’s your game here?” Mary gets straight to the point.
“Sorry?” Your eyebrows furrow in confusion.
“C’mon! You’ve gotten with singers and supermodels, basically everyone. Is Ella another one of your conquests?”
“What? No!”
“I’m not stupid! I know your reputation, you go from one girl to another.”
“Well, then you don’t know me at all!” You were now getting frustrated. You hated when people judge you just because of what they see from the media. You can’t blame them though, that’s all people know you from.
“What’s going on here?” Ella walks back in, drinks in hand, confusion on her face.
“Nothing. Just getting to know—”
“—Actually.” Mary cuts Alessia off. “I just wanted to make sure she is good for you. Based on all the girls she’s been with, I don’t think she is.”
“Okay, that’s enough Mary!”
“I’m just being realistic!”
“No, you’re being an asshole judging my girlfriend from things you see on the internet. You should know not to believe everything you see online. The both of you.” Mary and Alessia looks down in shame. “Also, if you haven’t noticed, she’s been out of the media for two years so everything you’ve seen was from a long time ago.”
“Doesn’t change the fact that she’s been with half the population before you!”
“It does when you find out that that isn’t true at all.”
“What?” Alessia’s voice was soft but heard.
“My name is-was a brand by the label. I was legally blinded to do what they told me to do and the acting out, smoking, tattoos, those are the only ways I could take some control back, but I never took advantage of anyone. All those girls I’ve been pictured with, I’ve only slept with one until she left me because management wanted to keep the ‘bad girl’ image.”
You move to the kitchen, grabbing a beer from a refrigerator. Popping it open, you take a swig, leaning against the kitchen counter.
“Two years ago, I decided to ‘run away’ to Manchester. Fired my whole team and just disappeared.”
“That’s when I met ‘er.” Ella cuts in, wrapping an arm around your waist, leaning into you. “Started dating two months after the countless dates she took me on and it’s been almost two years. She makes me really happy.” The last sentence was directed right at her friends.
“Okay. I’m sorry for judging you so quick.”
“Same with me. I’m sorry.”
“No hard feelings at all.” You give them both a smile. “Now since you’re both here, why don’t you stay for dinner.
The three perk up at the mention of food.

A/N: So Side Order is fun, but I've been reminded that I totally suck at skill based games. But yeah! This was absolutely written for my own self-indulgence. Nothing more to say, really. Not that often where i write the reader taking the lead, but eh Anywho, enjoy, or don't, up to you
Character: Velvette
Type: Fic (Velvette x fem!reader, Fluff, Spice)
Warning: This isn't fully NSFW, but it is spicy, so I'm still gonna put it below a cut!
An early morning ambiance filled the kitchen. The sound of the coffee machine brewing a fresh pot for the two of you just feet away. There was a nice little drone of music from the speaker on the counter, some softer song that you couldn’t remember the name of at the moment. But honestly, who could blame you? Right now, however, your mind is far more focused on more important things.
You were like putty in her hands, she knew it, you knew it, and you both knew the other knew it too. But there was no denying the fact that she was also putty in yours.
The kisses had started as nice and slow as the morning itself had. You were perfectly content taking your time there in the kitchen. The overlord’s lips were honestly like a drug. You really couldn’t get enough. Plump and soft, and all yours too.
Only, much to your dismay, Velvette began to pull away. You hoped the little displeased sound you made was enough to convey said disappointment.
“Babe,” You offer a hum in response, chasing after her lips, trying for just one more kiss as she pulls away. Your eyes flutter open, finding the influencer staring back, eyes half-lidded and clouded with lust. Oh. You could practically feel the heat pooling in your belly at the sight.
“Fuck, Imma need you to kiss me like you mean it.” Velvette all but growled out, she really did have a habit of being impatient, didn’t she? Oh, but when the tables were turned, the overlord had no issue with dragging things out if only for the hell of it. You start to open your mouth to throw back a retort, but the influencer is quick to shut that down.
She yanks you closer by the collar of your shirt, a gasp leaving your lips before she reclaims them in a fervent kiss. You were quick to return the kiss in kind. Teeth clanking together did little to deter either of you.
And suddenly there’s a hand slipping beneath your shirt, trailing up your side. Fuck, the way the overlord dragged blunted nails up your ribs, her hand purposefully brushing the swell of your breast before making its way back down. You couldn’t help but gasp, giving the overlord ample opportunity to slip her tongue in, more than happy to reexplore the already charted territory.
You let your hands leave their place on hips, your fingertips grazing the fabric of her shorts as your hands trailed past the hem. You relished the way she shivered as a ghost of a touch trailed along the smooth expanse of thigh that lay beyond. Hooking your hands behind her knees, in one swift movement, you had lifted her onto the counter. Velvette responded in kind, wrapping her legs around your waist to keep you in place. You could swear that you felt the influencer roll her hips as she did so.
One of your hands soon found its way into her hair. You gave a gentle tug and the resulting moan was music to your ears. Fuck, your heart was absolutely pounding away in your chest. You weren’t entirely sure you’d be able to stop yourself from letting things escalate right there in the kitchen. It certainly wouldn’t have been the first time, either. It wasn’t until Velvette nipped at your bottom lip that you realized just how deep you were in.
Ah, so it was escalating, escalating. Well, this is certainly one way to start a morning off, you thought.
You break the kiss, instead choosing to press a kiss to her cheek, an action that makes the influencer’s cheeks shift in a smile. Oh how infectious it was, you thought as you continued on. Soon your lips met the overlord’s neck, leaving a trail of opened-mouthed kisses and bites. Sucking on with the full intent of leaving behind marks. You made a mental note to admire your work later when the little blotches formed properly. And just as things were really starting to get interesting, the both of you were promptly interrupted by the sudden buzzing from the front pocket of Velvette’s pants.
That damn phone. Whatever it was, was it really more important than this?
“Ignore it,” you whispered against her lips, and you could feel the smirk she gave in response. You let it give you the smallest shred of hope that she’d do just that. But in reality, you knew better. Really, you weren’t surprised, nor even truly upset when Velvette pulled back just enough to whip out her phone to see the caller ID.
“Fucking Vox.” Velvette hissed, scowling down at the cellular device. Message after message popped up on the screen, not only from Vox but Valentino as well. You swore under your breath, and just like that that little shred was gone. Oh, you could kill those two. Velvette It was unbelievably tempting not to move, just to keep the influencer pinned on that countertop, but that would hardly be fair, now would it? After all, it wasn’t her fault that ‘Vox and Valentino could barely handle shit themselves’ as she had so eloquently put it.
So, begrudgingly, you pressed a final kiss to black-stained lips before beginning to pull away. Only the overlord followed your lips, recapturing them with her own. This one was slower than the kiss before, and you recognized it for exactly what it was. A promise of more to come later. This time when you parted, you were able to pull back to allow Velvette to slide off the marble countertop, admittedly in a bit of a haze, your cheeks flushed. Using her phone camera, the influencer took a moment to check her makeup. Luckily it wasn’t too bad, nothing deserving of a touch-up, at least.
“We’ll continue this later, pretty girl.” Offering one last peck to your cheek, the overlord grabbed her keys from the counter. With a little show of blowing a kiss and a wink, Velvette turned towards the door, her hips swaying as she went.
Positively unfair, was what it was.
You swore that one of these days you’d kill that television man yourself if he continued interrupting the two of you like this. At least you had the satisfaction of knowing that Velvette would lay into him the moment she walked through the doors of the Vee Tower.

i just saw your post about glasses!eddie munson and whenever you have the time, would you be able to write a cute series of reader finding out about his glasses ITS JUST ADORABLE
author’s note: this was meant to post sooner than now but here it is lol, i finished this pretty quick but got sidetracked. glasses!eddie has invaded my brain and it’s never leaving.
cw: sfw, glasses!eddie, eddie’s not so subtle flirting, acquaintances to friends, once again another fic where everyone bullies eddie (give this man a break), if i missed anything lmk!
word count: 2.5k
“Do you wanna switch seats with me?” Your voice is soft, leaning back toward Eddie, whose eyes are nearly closed from how hard he’s focusing on the board, blindly scribbling something down on the paper. He’s lost on where the voice comes from until you’re in focus, looking back at him with a smile.
Eddie wasn’t a friend, but he wasn’t an enemy either. He was the boy who got picked on relentlessly and as much as you wanted to help, you weren’t sure it would change anything. Plus, he didn’t seem that bothered by it—or he was just really good at faking like he wasn’t.
“Oh,” Eddie replies, still confused, “I’ll be fine—Mr. Donahue’s handwriting is always shit, I can barely understand it.”
It wasn’t a total lie, but it was still legible.
“Munson!” The teacher's voice rings from the front of the classroom, “let's stop trying to distract other classmates and focus on our own work, okay?”
And if it wasn’t the condescension in his tone that pissed you off, it was the way he so quickly blamed Eddie for the interaction. He shrinks slightly, sending you an apologetic look.
It happens a few more times that week, catching Eddie glancing at the board as if it’s nearly impossible to see—and maybe he was telling the truth, but it’s also obvious that Donahue hates Eddie for no other apparent reason than just because he thinks he’s up to no good, which isn’t fair to Eddie.
You show up early to class the following week, bag resting in the chair of the desk beside you—Eddie’s usual seat, waiting. He’s always bordering on being late, making it to class as the bell rings, looking more frazzled than the others.
You weren’t sure what he got up to between classes, but he definitely seemed overwhelmed.
“This seat taken?” He asks with a smug smirk, pointing at your backpack. You smile slightly, reaching for it.
“Sorry—I just wanted to make sure I could sit beside you.” You tell him honestly. It throws Eddie off, his eyebrows furrowing together slightly before relaxing, eyes roaming over you curiously. “You said you can’t understand his handwriting, I was gonna let you copy my notes.”
“Can I copy your work too?” Eddie asks jokingly, but you can tell he means it. “I’m barely scraping by with a D in this class.”
You snort out a quiet laugh. “Let’s worry about the notes first.”
Eddie spends most of the class still struggling, forehead creased up as he sifts through your notes, writing things down sparingly. It’s almost like he’s trying not to be mean, focusing a little too hard on one word every now and then as he looks over, your papers perched on the corner of the desk.
“If my writing is horrible you can tell me,” You say, which makes Eddie chuckle, “seriously, I won’t be offended.”
“It’s not that,” He assures you, “it’s just—the angle, it’s a little hard to read them—“
“Oh, well,” You grab the papers in a bunch, extending them toward him, “here, just take them.”
Eddie ignored you, his fingers wrapping around the leg of your desk to pull it flush against his—it’s quick enough that it doesn’t make much noise, only a slight shifting that draws a few eyes.
“Or…that works too.” You say shyly, face heating up at his straightforwardness. “Better?”
He glances over, shifting the papers to his side and gives a subtle nod as his lips pull together in a tight line, “Yeah, actually.”
And it’s almost blissful silence as Eddie copies them down, asking a few questions when your words meld together out of habit when you’re writing too quickly, he still leans in slightly but you don’t pester him on it—eventually Eddie’s actions are noticed, all eyes shifting toward the back of the classroom.
When you look up, everyone is staring back, including the pensive and threatening eyes of your teacher.
Eddie mumbles a soft, “Sorry.” as he pushes your desk back.
“Do I need to remind you two that this isn’t a matchmaking class?”
And it’s a ridiculous comment to make, but it has Eddie scoffing slightly underneath his breath.
“I’m letting him copy my notes,” You say innocently, “is that okay?”
You can’t remember having a problem in any of your classes, either flying under the radar or one of the usual favorites—you’ve never felt this tense, staring down the entirety of the group that was staring right back, though your gaze was focused on Mr. Donahue.
Eddie looks at you briefly before settling his eyes toward the desk, fiddling with pen in his hands to soothe his anxiety.
“If Eddie has a problem, he can come sit up front,” He says coarsely, “I don’t think you have the wiggle room to be socializing, do you?”
And suddenly his gaze on you is forgotten, flicking toward Eddie.
Eddie doesn’t give him the satisfaction, shuffling his shoulders forward in an effort to hide himself, scribbling something random down on the paper in front of him—it’s something he did when was bored or uncomfortable, even, a comfort.
You catch Eddie toward the end of class, gripping his sleeve before he can sneak away.
“How far behind are you?” You ask him, peering up at him curiously. Eddie looks sheepish, glancing away for a moment.
“Uh, I haven’t really taken notes all semester—I kinda just..scribble shit down so it looks like I’m working.”
Your eyes slant down slightly, in an ire of disbelief as your mouth parts, “Eddie, are you serious?”
He shrugs, reaching a hand up to scratch his jaw. You huff through your nose, snatching the pen perched in Eddie’s pocket and uncapping it before shoving it into his hands.
“Give me your address.” You insist, holding out your arm to him. Eddie seems skeptical, fingers wrapping around your arm gently, shifting your sleeve up, “I’m getting you caught up—don’t look at me like that.”
And truly, he’s not sure how to respond. Kindness and niceties weren’t at all familiar, feeling like there was always some ulterior motive. Still, he scribbles down the information with slow strokes, careful that it doesn’t smudge—leaving a small smiley face out of spite, forcing a similar expression onto your own face.
“I’m free after six,” He tells you, “so unless you want to get caught up in awkward conversation with my uncle, wait until then.”
You laugh at that, pulling your sleeve down.
“How else am I supposed to uncover all of your secrets?”
Eddie smirks slightly, eyes averting toward the floor.
“I’ll tell you whatever you want to know—you just have to ask.”
He spends most of his nights—sans the ones where he’s performing for the small audience at The Hideout or hosting Hellfire meetings—organizing campaigns and writing down random things that come to his mind, feeling the need to get the thought out on paper, even if it’s song lyrics or a drawing.
He adjusts the thin rimmed glasses up his nose, eyes hurting from the strain he’s forced them through all day. He knows he should spend a few minutes resting, even just closing his eyes for a moment, but he can’t help it. Eddie knows it’s his fault, the beginnings of a headache forming as he tries to focus, his finger sneaking up to rub at his eye—he can feel the haziness, willing it away.
But then you’re knocking at his door and every thought is thrown out the window—part of him never expected you to show, his heart thrumming in his chest as he leaps from the bed, tossing the papers away haphazardly and forcing the glasses up into his hair without a thought, pushing his bangs away from his face.
Eddie whips the door open, causing you to startle slightly.
“Hi.” You say wearily, a soft smile on your face.
“Hi,” Eddie responds slightly out of breath, before clearing his throat and offering a smoother, “Hey.”
Your eyes glance up, noticing the difference in his face. His bangs were like a trademark, constantly hiding his eyebrows. You point up curiously, speaking before you can think things through.
“You wear glasses?” You ask, eyebrows knitting in confusion.
“No—no uh, of course not.” Eddie responds quickly, adamant in his refusal. “Why would you—“
He’s clearly caught off guard, standing awkwardly in the doorway, eyes crossing as he follows your finger, only realizing his mistake when you drag the glasses down slowly, pushing them gently up the bridge of his nose.
“Well, that is definitely an interesting pair of non-existent glasses.” You say jokingly, grinning at his embarrassment, cheeks flushing a deep red.
It’s hard to explain how perfectly they fit his face—like it’s the missing piece that pulls him together. He’s not dressed up like usual, in a faded graphic shirt and gray pair of sweats, no jacket or rings in sight. It’s natural—and it’s in that split second you can see the real Eddie. Not the threatening, menacing Eddie Munson that everyone played him out to be.
Eddie nods wearily, beckoning you inside.
“I won’t tell anyone,” You promise him with a tinge of amusement, rounding on him as he closes the door, shoving the stack of papers at his chest, “—if that’s what you’re worried about.”
Eddie pulls the glasses off of his face, folding them up.
“It’s not that,” Eddie tells you, “—didn’t mean for you to find out about them, it kinda ruins the whole image, you know?”
Image. It makes you laugh to yourself silently.
“You didn’t seem like you were trying to hide them,” You giggled slightly, “besides, I don’t think they ruin anything.”
“I kinda forgot you were coming.” Eddie lies, knowing he had been riddled with nerves since he stepped foot inside of the trailer that evening, not understanding why he was so anxious to begin with.
“Look, I don’t mean to overstep or anything—“ You stop briefly, sighing softly, “but if you need a tutor or even just…some help, I don’t mind.”
Eddie doesn’t really know how to take it, staring at you like you’d grown a second head.
“I study with Nancy a lot,” You explain, “it’s really not a big deal.”
“I’m a lost cause,” Eddie admits with half-smile, “there’s no saving me.”
“I don’t believe that,” You tell him honestly, approaching him to shove the glasses back toward his chest, his other hand still stuffed full with the papers containing your notes, “—seriously, put them back on and I can spend a couple hours seeing where you’re at.”
Eddie listens, though skeptically, placing the glasses back onto his face—you smile without really thinking, causing him to react similarly.
“It’s okay to let someone be nice to you,” You assure him, “as many assholes as there are at Hawkins, there’s still a few of us who mean well.”
“I can’t be taught, I’m just warning you now.” Eddie remains adamant, leading the way toward his room. You follow behind eagerly, taking in the abstract way of decoration littered around the trailer.
“Fine—you can at least show me your drawings then.”
Eddie looks back at you briefly, a confused grin on his face.
“I’m really observant,” You tease, “and curious.”
“Promise not to tell anyone?” Eddie asks.
“I’ve already got one secret to keep,” You respond, teasing him lightly, “what’s one more?”
“How bad is it?” You ask him, staring up expectantly.
“What—oh, my eyes?” Eddie asks, “Uh, kinda bad. It’s okay, though—I manage.”
You crease your eyebrows together, motioning for him to remove the glasses. He does, watching as you reach for a paper, holding it up in front of him.
“Tell me when you can read it clearly.”
Eddie nods, squinting as you move the paper closer and closer, until it’s only a few inches from his face, your eyes widening in shock.
“Eddie,” You stress, “you can’t be serious?”
“I told you I manage,” He argues with a slight laugh, “but it’s bad, I meant that.”
Your expression remains the same, arms falling to your side as you discarded the paper.
“They look weird,” Eddie defends, “that’s why I only wear them at home—I already get enough shit at school anyways.”
“Bullshit,” You say boldly, “they do not look weird.”
Unfortunately, you did see all of the relentless teasing he caught at school, that wasn’t lost on you.
“You don’t have to lie,” Eddie says, “it won’t bother me.”
“I’m not,” You counter, smiling as the glasses returned to his face, his eyelashes touching the lenses, bangs brushing against the rim, “they fit you—they’re…cute.”
Eddie snorts in disbelief, “Okay, enough.”
You smile to yourself, watching as his cheek flushed a faint pink.
“Can I try them on?”
Eddie doesn’t answer outright, pulling them away from his face and handing them over—they’re a little bigger, his more prominent facial structure different from yours and causing the glasses to slide down your nose slightly. You push them up with your finger, squinting at the strain it puts on your eyes.
You can see Eddie smiling over the rim, admiring how perplexed you look in the moment, “Don’t look at me like that,” You say playfully, “these things are really strong.”
Eddie shakes his head, “It’s—nothing, nevermind.” He pulls the glasses from your face gently, placing them back on his own.
And Eddie’s never been shy, but suddenly he can’t force the words out, afraid of the mix of both rejection and embarrassment.
“I like you like this,” You tell him, hoping it eases him, seeing how tense he was—clearly unloved by many, “I mean, I like you both ways but this—it’s nice.”
“You’re the first.” He says flippantly, not aimed at you for any specific reason. He’s not immune to the words thrown at him, they do start to wear on him after time, even if he brushes them off for the most part.
“They’re insane,” You tell him with a surety, “all of them.”
“Careful,” Eddie treads, “Jason would have a fuckin’ field day if he heard you say that.”
You shrug, smugness in your expression.
“He’s terrified of me.”
“Jason—terrified of you?” Eddie asks, begging for more clarification.
“Our parents are friends—I’ve seen…a lot.” You say cryptically, not wanting to dive into details, “I’m not one for blackmail but I’m not totally above it.”
“You’re so interesting,” Eddie speaks candidly.
“I’ll take that was a compliment?” You respond, “Hopefully.”
Eddie nods with a subtle smile.
“Well—like you said,” You start, repeating his earlier sentiment, “I’ll tell you anything, just ask.”
You hold your finger up as his mouth opens—
“But, notes first—secrets later.”
Eddie pushes his glasses up comedically, forcing a quiet laugh from you—it’s the exact reaction he wants. He settles, agreeing with your rules.
“Deal.”

Some basic backstory of my Bill Created Alastor Au (I’m gonna be honest I might add or change stuff if I ever decide to write a fic)
Origins
Bill had become frustrated with humans for continuing to disappoint him. He thought to himself, If angels were the supposed ‘perfect’ beings, why did they create such fragile and at times dull creatures? I bet I could create a way better human! And he decided to go through with it and make the perfect obedient human tool; an anchor for access to different realities. Or so he thought.
He used the same ingredients such as the dust to create his human just with added modifications such giving them dark magical abilities.
For Alastor it started as worship because Bill was his creator and was considered Bill’s favorite. But after gaining knowledge and growing into his own person throughout the years, Alastor began to understand that he was merely a pawn in Bill’s game. It was until the 1920’s that Alastor began to question Bill and his own existence. Alastor had fallen for the radio and was able to convince Bill that with his radio show, he would be able to spread Bill’s influence. However, as he began to live life as an independent human, he began to do things for himself now. He didn’t randomly kill humans, he killed humans he deemed were deserving for their evil actions and he became focused on other topics to talk about besides Bill on his broadcasts. Bill saw this as the first act of defiance in Alastor and had to ‘fix’ him. But despite the torture and threats of death, Alastor continued doing what he thought was best for himself and his audience.
So Bill took another page from heaven, he sent his human to hell. This again backfired, hell in a way was similar to the Nightmare realm except there was no controlling triangle breathing down your neck, it was freedom. So when he had no choice but to leave because of Bill’s plan for Gravity Falls, Alastor had grown to resent his creator, his god, his father.
Bill’s View of the Angels
As we all know, Bill Cipher is a being of pure chaos and causing havoc wherever he goes. Basically he’s everything Heaven doesn’t stand for. Bill also sees the angels as stuffy snobs who think they’re better than everyone else. So he never really had much interest to ever engage with them, until he heard about the Eden incident and evil was released into earth. It was the most hilarious thing Bill ever heard and to know it was one of their own that had a part in it was even sweeter. It was also an opportunity to finally be able to go into the dimension where earth was and to conquer it.
While on earth, Bill began to notice that most of his schemes and atrocities he committed were all being blamed on this one particular angel, Lucifer. Honestly, it pissed the dream demon off that this guy was basically stealing all his street cred. So when he decided to check this hell for himself, he would say it was pretty impressive. It was fun to watch all these humans turned demons still continue to cause pain and misery even in death. And then he met the big cheese in charge; apparently he heard that Bill managed to sneak into hell and was disrupting order in the other rings. If he had just stayed in the pride ring, Bill probably wouldn’t have been found out early on because the pride ring was already chaotic.
Lucifer knew of the stories of Bill Cipher's terror and it was only a matter of time until he plunged all of hell into its own destruction. He may not like the sinners, but the hellborn didn’t deserve to lose their world and he had to protect his family. He was able to fight Bill off and create barriers to keep the triangle at bay and to never set foot in hell ever again.
When Bill found out Alastor was dating an angel he felt sick, but when he found it was Lucifer of all people, he lost another bit of his remaining sanity.
Bill and Alastor Relationship
Bill at the beginning only saw Alastor as a pet/puppet. He still even refers to Alastor as one, but deep deep deep deeeeep down he started to care about the human he created (he will deny this however). Out of everyone, Alastor was the only one Bill felt comfortable talking about Euclydia and his family. He was given the same story like everybody else that he liberated his universe, but there were times he was vulnerable enough to give Alastor bits and pieces of the actual truth. The best Alastor could conclude was that Bill must have started with good intentions in trying to reveal the third dimension to his people, but something went terribly wrong and that’s the most information he could get because Bill would black out and not remember.
As Alastor’s powers grew, Bill had made him his right hand man. Alastor would be Bill’s eyes and ears whenever Bill would send him somewhere and be a spy. However, he felt like he was losing Alastor’s loyalty bit by bit because of the influence of humans, so he decided to send him to hell. To Bill, sending Alastor to hell was like sending your kid to summer camp; however to Alastor it felt like abandonment. Still, Bill assumed once he took over earth, he’d do the same with hell and give it to Alastor as a gift.
Alastor and Pine’s Family
Alastor had met Ford first when he was ordered by Bill to hunt him down. This would be Alastor’s first act of defiance, yes he hunted and tormented Ford throughout the years (he loved the twisted cat and mouse game) but when he was actually close to capturing Ford, he’d let him escape at the last second. Bill was none the wiser because he still believed in Alastor’s loyalty despite the attitude he came back with. Ford eventually developed insomnia because of the nightmares of the Radio Demon and wherever he went, the demon would always find him. So learning his family was friends with the monster who haunted his dreams was a horrific discovery.
After spending three years tormenting Stanford Pines, Alastor spent the last four years living in Gravity Falls. His mission this time was to make sure all pieces on the chessboard would fall into place for Stanley Pines to open the portal again to get Ford back. But in true Alastor fashion, he took his time and decided to have a bit of fun while he was there. If he was going to spend however long in such a small town, might as well give the townsfolk the proper medium of entertainment.
As Alastor stationed a new radio studio in Gravity Falls, this would lead him to making a partnership with Stan Pines and talk about the Mystery Shack during his radio show.
The Pine twins were also to win over, Mabel was already a fan of his radio show, especially his romance segment and Dipper was someone who craved acknowledgement. So when Alastor told the boy about his newest segment of the supernatural and wanting to know about the child’s adventures, it was easy.
Despite using them, Alastor couldn’t help but grow a bit attached to the Pines for they were a colorful bunch. When Weirdmageddon happened and everything was revealed, it wasn’t pretty.
Hazbin Hotel and Alastor’s relationship with Lucifer
Pretty much the same happens in the show. Except with Alastor keeping his secret identity. He could have revealed himself and what he was when he was sent to hell, but he didn’t know how the outcome would have been. The sinners and other overlords weren’t much of a problem, but there was still the hierarchy of hell and despite him being powerful, so was Bill but he had been banished or at least prohibited from entering hell. So if all of hell knew he was the creation of the dream demon, he’d most likely be a target for everyone. And it didn’t help that the king of hell was already beginning to feel suspicious of him. So Alastor decided to turn up the charm and get into the king’s good graces. Since the beginning of Alastor’s existence, he was taught how to recognize and manipulate one’s feelings. He could tell Lucifer still yearned for affection and companionship.
It wasn’t easy, the two would constantly argue but after finding things in common and Alastor suddenly being sweet; Lucifer began to fall for Alastor. And Alastor caught the fallen angel into his web, what he didn’t expect was to fall for him too.
Unfortunately, his secret was discovered for the last seven years he was involved in Weirdmaggedon. Lucifer had known about Bill Cipher especially his time as Angel in heaven, and he wasted no time shielding hell. So learning that Alastor was created by him was devastating and angry. He felt so lied to and having Charlie be so close to danger was enough for him to kick Alastor out of the hotel. Both were heartbroken, Lucifer despite his anger still had feelings towards Alastor and Alastor had never felt such affection for anyone.
And since Lucifer wanted no trace of Bill in hell, it was best he left hell entirely. Besides, he’s been dealing with Bill telepathically wanting him to return back to earth.
Bill and Alastor now
Since Alastor is an anchor, Bill is able to return to earth but not physically for he’s still trapped in the Theraprism. They’re all they have left now since both lost everything. For Alastor, it seems strange because now he’s the one taking care of his creator because Bill is slowly losing his mind, but still wants to try again.
Unknown to them, Ford has discovered they are both back and decided to hunt them down. Not just Ford, but also Lucifer and the rest of the residents at the hotel. Lucifer decided he would be the one to bring Alastor back to hell, (he kicked him out of the hotel but not hell) and he wanted to apologize for his overreaction.
I wrote this while still brainstorming ideas and plots for my au. Cause I plan to do one shot comics or maybe mini comics. I don’t know if I’ll ever get to write a fanfiction of it though since I still need to finish some other stuff.

— MAKE IT RIGHT THIS TIME
PAIRING — Erik Lehnsherr x fem!Mutant!Reader
SUMMARY — You’re a teacher at Charles’ school where you live with your daughter but the life you’re living is far from what you want it to be. After a disagreement with Charles about your role in his institution, you pay your husband a visit. Maybe there’s still a chance to make the things right.
AUTHOR’S NOTE — I wanted to write it for MONTHS ??? and I finally did in one sitting and I’m so proud of myself! I know that not many people are into X–Men fics anymore (???) but honestly, I just had to write it and get it out of my system 💗 It’s based very very loosely on the plot of the movies and takes place more less when Dark Phoenix’s plot is. Reader’s mutation is NOT specified.
WORD COUNT — 3,150
ENGLISH IS MY SECOND LANGUAGE.
MAKE IT RIGHT THIS TIME
Raven was pissed. You knew her long enough to see it in her eyes and the way her fingers twitched nervously now and then. Everyone focused on Jane after the weird incident in outer space but from the corner of your eye, you could see Raven’s anger. And you were observing her because you were pissed, too. You knew she would be on the same page with you.
Risking your life for Charles was supposed to be over now. You didn’t sign up for any of that – tight, pathetic superhero’s suit and journalists taking pictures of you leaving the ship, asking you questions; all the sensation and headlines. You never wanted to be a hero. You just wanted to be with your people – with other mutants – safe and happy. You wanted peace.
Charles mostly cared about his school’s PR in front of the humans and it was exhausting. It was nothing like you had been imagining your life to be. Especially now, when you had so much to lose.
Raven went to Charles’ office to argue with him but you didn’t join her. You had your disagreements in the past but you knew she was tough enough to do it without your backup and you were needed somewhere else anyway.
You passed a bunch of kids – your students – congratulating you on the staircase.
“That was so cool, Mrs. Lehnsherr!” some boy’s cheeks blushed as he gasped like he was choking on air. You faked a kind smile at him.
You didn’t want him to think that risking your life for Charles was something admirable. You didn’t want to raise these kids to be superheroes. You just wanted them to be mutants capable of controlling their forces; future adults feeling comfortable in their own skin.
“Thank you, darling,” you whispered before opening the wooden door and disappearing inside the room. You took a deep breath out of relief when all the outside noise became muffled behind the door.
“Mum!” a young girl’s voice whined and you smiled at the girl laying on the bed. She took her headphones off and pouted at you, “You haven’t knocked!” she scolded you.
Edie was eight years old now – big enough to want her privacy and you hated that. Not because you didn’t want her to have her own space but because you hated to see her so grown up. You wished her to stay little forever like she was when she was two or three, giggling in her father’s arms when he was throwing her in the air in the kitchen.
You smiled sadly at the memory.
“I’m sorry, Edie. I had to hide from them as fast as I could,” you sighed and sat on the edge of her bed. She turned off her walkman and put the headphones away. “Why weren’t you waiting for me downstairs? I couldn’t wait to see your face.”
“You know why, mum,” she sniffled and you furrowed your brows before looking at her face. Then you spotted the dried out tears on her cheeks.
“Oh, Edie,” you gasped before pulling her closer and hugging her tight. She pressed her face to your chest and you hid your face in her hair before kissing the top of her head. “Mummy will always come back to you, little Edie.”
Edie hated you going on missions. She was terrified that you wouldn’t come back to her. She often refused to watch anything related to them on TV (which was difficult) and she would just sit in her room and block out the noise with her headphones.
“I’m back, I’m fine,” you caressed her back.
“I know that you all almost died today. I was nervous and I changed the radio station to news,” she admitted and sobbed as her small body trembled in your arms. Your heart broke.
“I promise I won’t ever go again,” you bit on your lower lip as your eyes filled with tears, too.
“You always say that and then uncle Charles asks you for one last favour.”
You didn’t answer her. She was right.
“I miss dad,” she added and you froze at that.
“I miss him, too,” you only admitted, almost inaudibly.
“Why can’t we be with him?” Edie looked up to meet your gaze. You caressed her wet cheeks and sighed.
“You know why, Edie. It’s not the kind of life I’d want for us.”
“And this is?” she asked innocently but once again there was no answer from you.
You just didn’t know what to say.
“You can visit your dad tomorrow. How about that?” you proposed to make her feel better and she nodded eagerly while giving you a wide smile.
“You’re driving too fast, mum,” Edie giggled and her voice brought you back to reality. You slowed down immediately after realising that she had been right.
“I’m sorry,” you sighed. “I’m angry.”
“Because we’re going to see daddy?”
“No. I had a fight with uncle Charles this morning,” you admitted.
“About yesterday?”
“Yes,” you nodded but refused to share the details. Edie was too young to be burdened with things like that.
“Do you think dad’s gonna like my new trick?” she grinned at you, playing with the metal balls inside her hand. She had recently learnt how to make them float in all sorts of ways and even change their shape. Sometimes it was funny and sometimes it was visually beautiful.
“I think he’s gonna love it,” you assured her and parked the car on the roadside near the trailer park where Erik and his followers lived.
Of course he refused to call them followers. These days, they were just comrades or whatever. But you weren’t a fool. You’d known him for years. He always had followers.
Edie was practising her tricks while walking alongside you all the way to the trailer park and you were smiling at her and pretending to listen to her rambling but, in fact, you were far away with your thoughts.
You were looking around and caught yourself wondering… Would it really be that bad to live there? Of course the standard was way worse than Charles’ huge mansion and you had your responsibilities back at school – all your kids to teach. On the other hand, they weren’t really your kids and there were other teachers, while Erik’s trailer park just felt more free and you knew that it would make Edie happy to live there.
Of course only if Erik wanted you there as well, which wasn’t so obvious.
The forest path ended and you found yourselves inside the trailer park. Edie ran off ahead and you tried to stop her but it was pointless. She felt comfortable there and seemed not to notice all the curious and suspicious eyes. People living with Erik knew who you were but they always stared at you like you were actually sent there with a military squadron supposed to arrest or kill them. After all, your kind – mutants living with Charles – was known for working with humans for the sake of the friendship between the species.
“Hey, little one!” a female voice greeted Edie and you turned around to see a young woman patting your daughter’s head. You had seen her before while taking Edie to Erik or picking her up. That woman’s name was Monica and she seemed to be close with your husband.
Husband by name only. For some reason you had never divorced. There was never any occasion to do so.
“Hi, Monica!” Edie smiled at her and you squinted your eyes at them. Edie had never told you much about Monica. Only that she had been nice.
You had your reasons to believe that Monica was actually Erik’s girlfriend and Edie just chose to cover up for them.
But there was nothing to cover up. It was Erik’s right to live his life without you. It was your choice not to live with him. It was your decision to split up for Edie’s good. Without Edie, you’d go to the end of the world with Erik back in the day. You’d burn the whole world alongside him. You almost did once anyway.
Edie changed everything. You didn’t regret her, though, not even for a moment.
“Hi, Monica,” you stood behind Edie and put your hand on your daughter’s shoulder. Monica looked at you with a smirk. “Is Erik around?” you asked.
“Yeah, let me get him,” she answered before turning around and disappearing inside one of the small houses.
He went outside a short moment after.
It had been years now since he changed so much but every time you saw him after a long while of not seeing him, you felt weird because he looked so different than at the beginning of your relationship. You didn’t mean his face getting older but he used to be such an elegant man in his turtlenecks, jackets, sunglasses and haircut. Nowadays, he was just wearing T-shirts and didn’t shave for days when he didn’t feel like it. Edie would often complain about his stubble scratching her face when they were hugging.
“Hi,” you greeted him awkwardly.
“Hi,” he looked a bit surprised and opened his arms for Edie. She ran into them and jumped on her dad. He picked her up and kissed her cheeks. “I didn’t expect you.”
“Edie wanted to see you,” you approached them and rubbed her back. “I’m sorry. Should have called… But you don’t really use your phone, do you?”
“I don’t know where it is,” Erik admitted.
“Yeah, that’s what I’m talking about.”
“But you haven’t been here with her in such a long time. I thought I’d never see her again,” he said and you felt guilty.
“Don’t be stupid, Erik. It’s just… I was very busy,” you looked down.
“Mum saved the world yesterday,” Edie giggled as her dad put her down on the ground. Erik furrowed his brows at you.
“I didn’t. Jane did, actually. Kinda…” you chuckled nervously.
“They almost died, daddy,” Edie lowered her voice and swallowed thickly. You took a deep breath in.
“I know. I’ve listened on the radio,” he confessed and you looked up, surprised. “Edie, can I talk to your mum for a while?”
“But daddy, I wanted to show you a trick!”
“You can show me later, okay?” He caressed her hair.
“Show me first!” Suddenly, Monica appeared next to you. You almost jumped at that. Apparently, superhuman speed was her mutation.
“Okay!” Edie followed Monica to one of the houses and you watched them with terror in your eyes.
“She’s safe. I trust Monica,” Erik assured you. “I trust everyone here. Believe me,” he insisted and you nodded your head before walking away with him to go inside his place.
You sat on the couch and looked around since you hadn’t been inside much before. The place was quite messy and you spotted that there were some pictures on the wall and most of them were of Edie. On one of them it was all three of you when your daughter was a few months old. You stood up again and approached that picture to caress it gently with your fingertips through the glass of a frame.
“We were so young, huh?” you cracked a smile.
“You still are,” Erik stood behind you.
A long silence occurred between you two.
“What did you want to talk about?” you asked in a whisper after swallowing thickly.
“You shouldn’t risk your life anymore for Charles. I mean, I have never wanted you to but now we have Edie.”
“You have never wanted me to risk my life for Charles,” you turned around to face him, “but you have never minded me risking my life for you, Erik.”
“All I did was to protect you and you know that,” he furrowed his brow.
“That’s the excuse that lets you sleep at night?” you snorted at that.
“(Y/N), come on,” Erik grabbed your wrist but he wasn’t squeezing it so you didn’t fight him on that, “don’t pretend to be better than me. Don’t play pretend to be a bigger person. We both know you are not. You joined me because you made a choice. I didn’t force you to join the Brotherhood.”
“I joined you because I loved you,” you gritted your teeth and he clenched his jaw at your words, “and I hated every moment of it. There’s blood on my hands but it was all for love. That’s the excuse that lets me sleep at night.”
“I don’t want you to die for Charles’ ego, do you hear me? Edie needs a mother,” Erik changed the subject and pushed your wrist away. You knew it was a sensitive matter to him. He didn’t want Edie to lose her mother like he had lost his.
“She still has you. You’re going to take care of her if something happens to me, right?”
“Of course I will but I didn’t know you wanted me to. I thought you’d want her to stay at school if anything happens,” Erik sat down on the couch and you took a deep breath in.
“I don’t. I mean, what for? So she grows up to be another X–Man? So they put her in a tight suit and make her risk her life to save humans?” you rolled your eyes. “Fuck that, Erik. And you have the same mutation. You’re every teacher she’d ever need.”
“What do you mean by that?” he looked up and you bit on your lower lip nervously.
“I had an argument with Charles this morning. I know what you think but I don’t want to do the missions for him anymore and it’s been like that for a long time now. I agreed to join his school, to be a teacher, to secure Edie’s future… But I never agreed to that, all that saving humans shit. He always sweet talks me into doing that. He tells me that he needs me. That there aren’t many original X–Men around anymore… Me, Raven, Hank… And I’m too fucking sentimental to say no to him. But it’s over now. I told him this morning I’m not doing it anymore and he… He brought back the past. He told me I probably still have hatred towards humans in my heart, from the times when I was in the Brotherhood. That was too much, Erik. I split up my family for this man… I ruined what was between you and I to join him and that’s how he repays me?” you sniffed your tears back and looked away. “I don’t want to be there anymore. He’s not a better life for me and my girl. I thought he would be but I was wrong.”
Erik examined your face for a while and he was visibly confused after hearing your little monologue. You quietly hoped he’d offer you a place to stay but he remained silent.
“I was thinking… Maybe we could move in… Edie and I… I know you miss her and she misses you, too. Not here, of course,” you looked around his house. “I’d get us our own place. I mean, my place… She could stay here for a while and then for a while with me. Whatever, we’d live close anyway. It wouldn’t matter to her anyway. But I mean… When you’d want some time with Monica for yourselves, no problem…”
“Wha– Wait, wait, wait,” Erik stood up and shushed you before walking up to you. “What are you talking about? Some time with Monica? What?”
“I know you two are like… together,” you shrugged your arms, pretending that it didn’t bother you.
“Have you lost your mind… Who’s told you that? Edie?”
“No,” you shook your head. “I’m observant.”
“No, you’re not observant, (Y/N). You’re jealous,” he laughed and you made an angry face at that. “You’ve always been. Should I remind you about Raven, Emma…”
“You actually fucking kissed Raven,” you interrupted him.
“Because you were giving me mixed signals.”
“That’s no excuse!” you protested and then he shut you up with a kiss.
You gasped at first, still trying to process what had just happened. And then you gave in, you cupped his face and kissed him back so hard that your teeth clashed, like there was no tomorrow. God, you missed him.
Erik’s hands rested on your hips as he pulled you even closer. After a while, you lost your breath and had to break the kiss.
“Of course you can move in, just let me clean up a little,” he smiled with his face still only inches away from yours. You giggled at that.
“Yeah, you should,” you nodded. “Edie and I are taking the bedroom. You can sleep here,” you took a step back and fixed his hair gently, “for now,” you added. “I think we need some time. We can’t just… Suddenly pretend that the past few years haven't happened. We lost many years,” you explained and he nodded his head.
“But it’s nothing compared to all the years we still have ahead,” Erik raised your chin with his finger. “And this time, I promise, I’ll make it right.”
“Yeah, I wouldn’t survive you going to jail again,” you laughed and pushed him playfully.
“Ekhem,” someone’s voice made you both turn around and you saw Monica with a huge smirk on her face leaning on the doorframe. “Your kid is becoming very impatient to show you the trick,” she announced and winked at you.
“How long have you been standing there?” Erik asked her.
“Depends on how long the kiss actually was. I’d say… somewhere the middle of it but perhaps it was the ending. Didn’t want to ekhem at you earlier, it felt off, you know?”
“Oh for fuck’s sake. There’s no privacy here, is it?” you sighed.
“Better get used to it,” Monica shrugged her arms, “and you, good luck at getting your old back used to sleeping on that shitty piece of couch,” she looked at Erik. “Come ‘ere, Edie,” she called your daughter from the outside.
“What took you so long?” Edie whined after walking inside with her metal balls floating behind her like dogs taken out on a walk.
“Your parents were…” Monica started and Erik gave her a deadly look. “...talking,” she finished.
“About your new room,” Erik added. “What would you like in your new room?”
“Mum, what does dad mean?” Edie’s eyes widened at you.
“We’re moving in,” you announced nervously. “I mean… Only if you want to.”
“Are you kidding me?” she gasped and all the metal balls fell to the floor dramatically. “That’s the best day ever!” she ran into her father’s arms happily. “Daddy, it’s my favourite day I think! Is it yours, too?”
“No,” Erik shook his head and rubbed his nose with hers, “my favourite day was the one when you were born.”

Can you please do a House fic where Reader and House reconcile after a break up (it’s been a few years)?
Reconciliation
Fandom: House MD
Pairing: Greg House x Reader
Summary: you were already reluctant to accept Cuddy’s request to return to Princeton Plainsboro, your ex boyfriend’s sudden return made it all the worse
Warnings: angst, House being House, past relationship (bad writing on my end, whoops)
Set during season six, but not strictly following the show plot
Your memories of Princeton Plainsboro Teaching Hospital hadn’t exactly been the greatest. From people you considered being your friends getting injured, to your relationship with the head diagnostician in the hospital. Cuddy had assured you of his absence, as had Wilson and the rest of his former team.
Former.
Foreman had filled you in on what happened, and you’d honestly felt a bit of hope flutter in your chest when discovering that House had gone to Rehab. But only a bit.
You knew it was only too good to be true when Greg House appeared in your office doorway a few weeks after you had started. You could only stare, and then quickly rose to your feet and crossed the room, “No.”
Before you could hear anything from him, the door shut in his face. You were glad Lisa had provided you with an office with a solid door rather than a glass one. You could see his shadow through the crack of the door by your feet, as well as it shift when he finally walked away.
A sigh of relief passed through your lips, and you shook your head and returned to sitting at your desk. You snatched the phone from its receiver and dialed up Cuddy's office. You sat back in your chair, one arm crossed and your other resting on top of it as the phone rang.
"Doctor Cuddy," Lisa's semi-cheerful tone met your ears, but you were less than cheerful.
"When did he get back?"
"Y/n," Cuddy immediately sounded remorseful as she tried to figure out what to tell you, "I meant to talk to you sooner...it wasn't my intention for you to just find out."
"I don't want to be working with him, Cuddy,"
"Why don't we talk about this in person?"
"Because he's already tried coming into my office and I don't need him catching me in the halls," you muttered in annoyance.
"Please just come to my office, we can talk about it there,"
You were silent, shaking your head before huffed, "Fine."
You put the phone down and rose to your feet, leaving your office and toward Cuddy's office. It's not that you and Greg split on bad terms, they were bad for you anyway. He had made his choices and you made your own, and he ultimately chose to cut off the relationship. And you left Princeton Plainsboro.
Cuddy was already seated at her desk, lost in thought when you walked in. She frowned when she saw you, shaking her head, "I'm so sorry you didn't get a proper warning about House coming back. Wilson thought it wasn't best since you just came back, and right now we value your work more than we can trust his."
"I'm pretty sure I should've known to begin with," you countered, sitting in the chair across from her and folding one leg over the other. You were unimpressed with the reasoning, and excuse, "I won't leave if that's what you're afraid of."
Cuddy's face dropped, shocked and showing she entirely expected you to leave, but you were more mature than the other half of the problem. She waved a hand, "Wow, are you sure? We'd understand completely."
"Letting Gregory House drive me out of my place of work is the last thing I need right now,"
With that, you resumed your work in the hospital. You had a few run-ins with House, but overall it didn't affect your work in the hospital until he could finally corner you in your office one day. You'd been talking to Wilson when House knocked and came in, sending Wilson out and leaving the two of you alone.
"I was getting a consult," you informed him, focusing on anything other than how he watched you and the turtleneck he'd worn.
"Who says I don't need a consult from you?" You looked at him through your lashes, unimpressed as he leaned on his cane, "It's possible."
"I don't want to do this today, House,"
"Yeesh, what happened to 'Greg'?" You shook your head and went back to reading the file for the case you were working on, "Just five minutes."
"I could spend five minutes helping my patients, you could too,"
"And yet you're still sitting here...talking to me,"
You pressed your hands against your face, and sighed, "What do you want?"
"You don't talk to me, you don't look at me, ya know the typical stuff I'd expect from an ex," he waved a hand around, sitting in the chair across from you, "But c'mon, we're coworkers now. You've gotta have a little bit of kindness to share."
"I do," you nod, "When we actually work together for something."
You had a gut feeling as to what he was really after, but you wanted to get back to work as he hummed, "You don't think I've seen you making eyes or anything?"
"I'm not crazy, Greg," He hummed doubtfully and you rolled your eyes, "Please leave."
He did, and a few days later he called you in for a consult. But it was really just him sitting in a clinic room waiting for you. You scoffed when you walked in and shook your head, "I swear you just beg for attention."
"Our soap is on, figured you'd like to join for it," You fell silent, processing his words and looking between him and the small device he'd set up, "I know you want to."
"I want to work," you told him.
"Just come sit with me, and if you still hate me after this, you don't have to talk to me again," he pat the empty chair next to him, holding out a bag of chips with his other hand.
You conceded, walking over to the chair and taking one of the chips, “I don’t hate you.”
He hummed, but was too engrossed in the drama happening on the screen to pay attention to your words. You watched as the drama unfolded, and for a moment everything felt like it had nearly five years ago when you were together.
Almost.
When the episode ended, you were brought back into reality as another started and your pager went off. You left without a word, but for some reason, you missed the feeling you’d had from a few moments earlier.
You went to House’s office at the end of the day, letting yourself in with a knock. He looked up at you, smirking, “Look who’s chasing who now.”
“Shut up,” you shook your head, grinning as you approached his desk, “I just wanted to thank you. It was nice being away from work for a while. Maybe we should do it again.”
“I’ll consider it,” he spoke dismissively, looking down at his paperwork as you smiled and turned away, walking toward the door again, “Maybe at my place this time?”
You turned to see him looking up, a semi-hopeful look on his face. You smiled and nodded your head, “Maybe.”

Hi, I want to share with you, I am very annoyed by Sakura fans, they really believe that for Sasuke his wife is more important than Itachi, they say that Sakura is his soul mate, if there were no Uchiha massacre, he would devote himself entirely to Sakura, and do not compare them,Sakura will always be in any universe more important than his brother, I don't understand how they can think like that, how they read manga to come up with such a thing, Itachi will always be more important than any person in his life, and I can hardly believe that in parallel universes he marries Sakura, I understand that Itachi is not perfect, but the bottom line is that for Sasuke he he is perfect, he always puts him above everything, I'm sorry that I'm writing all this, but I'm offended for Itachi, a man who devoted his life for the welfare of his brother was equated with a stupid fan who does not even understand the person he loves
Her fans are delusional when they say that. If Sasuke loves her that much then what kept him from visiting her all those years? The basis of her fans saying this is apparently the handful of novels whose writer(s) themselves have said their Sasuke is a different character/different interpretation of his character from how he's in canon. And SS fans always use those novels as "proof" that she's his soulmate or they're grasping at the straws in Manga canon to prove how special she is to Sasuke.
In no universe does Sasuke care about her more than he did in Manga. Sure, his trauma plays a bigger role that he is aloof and doesn't want anyone to come close to him. But while he had his family, he was still very much focused on his family and found comfort in Itachi's presence.
If there was no massacre, Sasuke would have loved to spend more time with Itachi. The brothers are (platonic) soulmates.
I was reading Sasuke's wiki page for my fic a while ago and all I see is Sasuke on his journeys alone. He doesn't feel any connection with his "soulmate" that he wants to be with her at all. He leaves his "family" and goes away. He finds his loneliness to be more comforting than her company. Would he be like this if he had Itachi? Would he want to leave Itachi alone? Would he want to leave without Itachi? Itachi would be with him all the time.
Her fans saying nonsense like that offends me too. On Twitter I saw many people do that and I couldn't help but wonder what were they showing in Boruto that her fans have started to think that she's more important to Sasuke now. Then realised that Sasuke, too, doesn't think about Itachi at all, so it's easier to assume she's become more important.
Honestly, if Sasuke could be happy and move on from Itachi, and find happiness with his new family, I would be happy, because he deserves it, but with her... It's just not it.
If we love these brothers, it's obvious we have to endure this, because they suffered the worst kind of injustice and pain. Even if Itachi's sufferings ended with his death, Sasuke's go on. And it doesn't help that he's stuck in a loveless marriage where the narrative makes a constant effort to make Itachi irrelevant as if what he did and what happened to him don't matter.

Could you write some soft fluff where Jamil and the readerfall asleep studying together in his dorm and the reader wakes up and attempts to leave but Jamil convinces her to stay?
This sounded so cute! To be honest, it was a little challenging to picture a scene like this with Jamil, but I think I got it. I just hope it isn't too ooc.
type: fanfic
Summary: A short and hopefully sweet fic about snoozing during study time with Jamil Viper.
1.3k words
tags: hand holding, headpats
Warning(s): none
Orange hues painted the sky outside Jamil's windows as the sun vacated for the day. Somehow, you'd ended up together in his dorm room studying for a test that was scheduled for the next week or so. Originally, your feline partner in crime, Grim tagged along to your little meetup, however one look at the content you needed to learn for the test was enough to bore him out of his mind and he was soon passed out on Jamil's bed.
He didn't seem to mind Grim's snoring that played like background music as he calmly continued to explain what you were going to cover. You were a good student, managing to absorb information efficiently and remember the most crucial parts you needed, much to Jamil's relief. Hence, your study session was smooth sailing so far.
Your temporary tutor had his own homework to do, so he left you with some questions that recapped the subject you were revising for the day and told you that you'd go over them together. As well as helping you, it was good practice for him as teaching topics to another person helped solidify the concepts in his mind as well.
"Take another look at question 7," he pointed with a pen, circling your mistake.
"Right," you nodded, immediately looking over the papers.
For a few minutes, the only sound in the room was shuffling of papers and a little sniffle here and there from one of you as the temperatures were dropping with the approach of night. You'd been so focused on completing the makeshift assessment that you'd compiled with Jamil that you didn't notice the lack of movement from the guy.
"Jamil, so for this one, do you-" you stopped yourself before you could finish. The sight of Jamil with his arms folded over his chest, his head carefully tilted to the side, eyes shut, and strands of hair straying from his now loose braids caused you to freeze.
Honestly, you couldn't blame him. Being a full-time student at a school like NRC and simultaneously looking after Kalim and his rambunctious energy 25 hours a day must've been demanding. He was bound to run out of energy at some point. Compared to his usual stoic face and his trying-his-best-not-to-lose-it energy, his sleeping form was serene and picturesque. You didn't want to come across as a creep, but in all honesty, it was difficult not to stare at someone so pretty.
Slow, shallow breaths allowed his chest to rise up and down at a steady pace. With each small movement he made, another strand of hair fell out of place, and he seemed to relax even more. You were tempted by the idea of running your fingers through his dark brown locks to detangle any bits of hair that were hooked around each other. A soft smile graced your features as you stared at him, enamoured. His face adorned with a comfortable expression that contrasted nicely against the usual sharpness in his eyes.
You'd be lying if you said your heart wasn't melting at how peaceful Jamil looked.
There was a sudden gust of wind outside, which diffused its cold air into the room, causing Jamil to shiver in his sleep. Desert nights were freezing, and the only thing keeping Jamil warm was the thin, burgingy hoodie that he always wore under his school blazer. Without thinking, you reached for the nearest blanket and quickly covered Jamil with it.
Just as yawning was contagious, sleep was too. Watching the boy in front of you was such a calming scene. Your eyelids grew heavy, and you were slowly losing the willpower to force them open for any longer. You allowed the sandman to get you as you eventually fell asleep.
-
Soft caresses and strokes on your head woke you from your nap. As you stirred and your eyes slowly opened, the mystery hand that pet you flinched. Your vision finally adjusted to the dim lights of the room. Jamil seemed to still be half asleep, judging by the slow pace of his movements and how his eyes were half-lidded with sleepiness. When you became fully awake and able to notice the hand that was still tangled in your hair, Jamil's face heated up, and he reluctantly pulled away.
"Sorry," you could hear the pout in his voice.
You laughed, your voice a little raspy. "I don't mind." It was true, though. It was nice to feel the warmth from his fingers lingering in your currently messy strands. "And... you're cute when you're sleepy..." You murmured. It seemed to spur him to wakefulness more than anything else ever had. His cheeks warmed further, and he quickly averted his gaze.
"Oh, um... thanks," He stuttered nervously. His hands clenched and unclenched as if he were struggling internally over something.
"Do you want to...um..." His cheeks were even warmer than before. It wasn't like Jamil to get so nervous, and you realised he wouldn't be able to continue speaking without choking on the words. In the end, he settled with clearing his throat to gain the confidence back. He tried to speak again, but nothing came out. Instead, he shook his head, making his dishevelled hair sway.
Silver ribbons of moonlight framed Jamil's head as he sat between you and the window. The light that surrounded his profile gave him an ethereal appearance that enhanced the beauty of his features. You wished you had the camera to capture this moment forever. To preserve it for eternity. However, you knew that it would be strange to do so suddenly and let the thought free from your mind.
Moonlight, huh. The next thing that came to mind was how terribly late it was. You groaned, rubbing at your tired eyes. "I should probably get going."
As you made the motion of standing up to pick up your cat-like companion and retun to your dorm, Jamil's hand latched onto your wrist, causing you to stop in your tracks. The surprise of seeing those strong yet gentle digits wrapped around your wrist made your heart beat faster, but the feeling faded within seconds.
His face was inches away from yours now, and it seemed as if your whole body was on high alert. With his hand firmly holding onto yours and keeping you in place, he didn’t seem to budge, yet his face remained with a slightly conflicted expression.
"Can you.. stay?" Jamil asked quietly like it was a question to himself, rather than to you. There was something about the way he spoke, almost as if he was afraid that he might say something wrong and cause the atmosphere between you two to change. Was that it? Did he really want to spend more time with you? If you didn't know any better, you would've gaped at him like a fish.
However, before you could reply to his question, Jamil began to elaborate, lowering his gaze. "It's late, and walking all the way to your dorm from the school building is dangerous in the dark."
"Yeah, you're right," you nodded. The path between your beaten up dorm and NRC's main building was poorly maintained and you'd tripped over a loose stone tile or a piece of vine that grew out from the ground below it more often than you'd like to admit.
Jamil visibly relaxed at your agreement. "Are you hungry?" He suggested.
"Starving actually," you admitted, and Jamil offered a small smile.
"I can make you something to eat," He stood to his feet, his hold on your wrist sheepishly transfered to your hand before letting go. "Most of the dorm must've eaten dinner already, but I'm sure we can find something."
"That sounds great," you grinned. You sent a look at Grim, who was still passed out asleep after all this time and shook your head with a fond smile.
"I guess I'll have to save him some late night dinner, too."

“The little owl family” (Part 1)
(RZ!Michael Myers x GNReader)
Summary: your and your little sister’s life had an 180° turn when your parents got into a severe car crash, dying on the spot. You, being already past 18 had to figure out how to keep things afloat and give yourself, specially your sister, a good future. And you did! It was hard but you did it and became the absolute hero in the little girl’s eyes. People would often involuntary smile at the dynamic of your two, so wholesome and supportive, the perfect family bond. Bond that a certain Boogeyman noticed as well…
Warnings: none, maybe mentions of murder(?).
Word Count: 2.7k
Additional info: Gender Neutral reader. (S/N) = sister’s name.
Also apologies for any mistakes, English is not my first language ;u;
Well, with all that said, enjoy the fic! ^^
(Part 2) (Part 3) (Part 4) (Part 5) (Part 6)
—“(Y/N)! (Y/N) look!”—
The voice of a little girl resonated behind the mentioned person, who was finishing putting on their shoes.
—“Mmh? What is it songbird?”— you curiously say as you walk towards your sister.
The little 6 y/o was enthusiastically pointing at the window.
—“Look! The owl family! They actually made a nest in the backyard!”— she exclaims excitedly, giving little jumps in her place as she speaks and points.
The older sibling looks through the window, focusing on the large tree they had in the backyard. And it’s true! Inside of a tree hollow was a barely noticiable owl head curiously peaking out, staring at the duo with it’s dark, almost pitch black, eyes.
—“It’s not just an owl, it’s a barn owl!”— you comment, glancing at your sister. —“Not sure if they’re going to find much food around here though… Maybe we could buy some meat later?”—
—“Oh, yes! We need to help the birdies!”—
—“Aight’ I’ll write it down in our 'to do' list. But now we gotta go or you’ll be late for school.”— you gently remind her.
—“Oww, but will I see the birdies later?”— she looks at you with a little frown.
—“Of corse! Maybe we could even stay up at night a bit longer since they are nocturnal animals.”—
—“Past bedtime?!”— she gasps a bit.
—“Yup, past bedtime.”— you nod with a chuckle. —“But only this time for tonight, and maybe ones in Halloween… And Christmas… And new year…”—
(S/N) lets out a childish laugh as she swings her arms around her sibling’s waist.
—“You are the best (Y/N)!”—
The mentioned person laughs a bit and crouches down to hug their sister properly.
—“I learned from the greatest. Now come on or your teacher is going to reprimand both of us.”—
The little girl pouts a bit but does as told, clearly not wanting to get scolded again by the old witch Rosemary.
. . .
After a couple of hours, (Y/N) had picked up their sibling from their school and were currently on their ride to the store, when suddenly…
—“(Y/N), who is ‘Michael Myers’?”— (S/N) innocently asks.
They almost choke whit their own saliva when they heard that name leaving their sister’s mouth, their body going a bit stiff.
—“Uh…”— you think about what to reply. —“Where did you hear that name?…”—
—“A classmate told me! She said the friend of their older brother was killed by Michael Myers!”— she replies, saying the last part in a more dramatic tone.
—“Uhuh…”— you hum thoughtfully.
—“So… Who is he?”—
—“Well…”— you pause for a moment. —“He was ones a boy that lived in Haddonfield, around 16 years ago, and then at Halloween he… He killed some people; his stepfather, his own sister and her boyfriend.”—
(S/N)’s eyes wide and her mouth slightly gapes.
—“Own sister?! How dared he?!”—
—“Yeah, but can’t blame him. His sister wasn’t a good person, in fact no one was really kind to him except his mother.”—
—“Oh…”— she pauses, trying to process the fact that not all siblings are as amazing as the one she has.
—“So yeah, that’s the story of Michael Myers, and his old house is now a source of spooky stories, claimed to be the ‘house of the Boogeyman’.”—
(Y/N) replied honestly, they rarely kept secrets from their sister and would often do their best to explain certain things, she will learn them anyways at some point so they rather to be the ones who explain it.
The little girl nods a bit, her gaze thoughtful.
—“Is his house like… Haunted?”—
—“Mmm… Nah, it’s just an old abandoned house. Sure, some teens may come in for kicks and giggles but that’s it”—
(S/N) nods again and then silently looks through the car window. Through the rear mirror (Y/N) could see the girl's expression, it was clear that she still has things to ask and wonder but chooses not to.
Eventually though, whatever was bugging the girl's mind becomes too much and she's forced to ask...
—"Can we go and see the house?..."—
(Y/N)'s grip on the steering wheel tightened, their body stiff again.
—"...Why?"— you simply ask.
The girl shrinks in her sit a bit, her expression a bit sheepish.
—"I... W-Well... While exiting the shcool I heard Terry say that his dad is going to demolish the Myers house in a few days, I got curious and... I just really want to see a real haunted house at least ones!"— she exclaims at the last part.
—"I just said it's not-"—
—"It looks haunted! Please! Pretty please (Y/N)!"— she begs. —"I promise I will look quick! Just a little peak and I won't ask you anything ever again!"—
—"Didn't you say the same yesterday when you wanted pizza for dinner?"— you ask in a teasing tone, subtly trying to change topic.
—"But now I'm super-duper serious! Please."—
The older sibling remains quiet, eyes gluet to the road yet their mind going completely coconuts. Part of them wanted their sister to know the truth, to know that just last year all grown up Michael Myers had escaped from the asylum he's been locked for so long, to know the people he killed, to know he kidnapped and nearly murdered his own young sister, to know that... His body is still to be found, despite originally being claimed as dead.
On the other hand, a more permisive part of them saw nothing wrong in making a quick visit. The old house is several blocks away from their neighborhood and police cars still patrolling the streets quite regulary, specially now durning October.
NO, their gut screams as they slouch on their sit a bit. This is probably a terrible idea! Did they forget all the horror movies and the ridiculously avoidable threats the main characters go through? Do they really want to get themselves in such mess?
But again, it's just a house... Some stupid old building that is barely standing.
And even though (Y/N) doesn't want to admit it... They too are kinda curious to see how the house looks after the last year events.
It's just a little peak.
Just a tiny glance that will last no longer that a minute or two.
Plus, they're god damn aware that if they don't accept (S/N) is going to give them a one hell of a time, and their nerves deserve some mercy.
With a sigh, (Y/N) corrects their position.
—"Just a small glance, okay?"—
At that, (S/N)'s face lights like a firework, her smile wide and bright.
—"Yes! Yes thank you so much (Y/N)! I promise I'll be super good from now on!"—
They simply hum with a smile, this is going to be a quick visit, just a minute and they'll be over it, going to the store to buy some groceries and maybe some new Halloween decorations, the holiday was still three weeks away but in Haddonfield, even after the Boogeyman's horrors, Halloween is still welcomed.
. . .
The car pulls and stops, at the opposite street from the old house.
Just like they imagined, neither time or the people of this town had mercy on the structure. The poor building looked even more vandalized and broken than before, still miraculously standing.
(Y/N) frowned, they’ve expected to feel the classic thrill, the unexplainable sense of danger that our primal instincts send to alert about any sketchy situation, yet… They’re feeling non of it, instead of irrational fear and dread they feel sadness, a melancholy so deep it consumes all other emotions, leaving a huge void in their chest.
The little girl stares at the house, frowning too, as if feeling the same deep sadness.
(Y/N) eventually stops the engine, making everything go silent.
It’s uncertain how long the duo was sitting like this, staring at the building and barely breathing. Eventually, a tiny voice breaks it.
—“Can we…”— she hesitates.
—“Want to look closer?”— you ask, unimpressed.
—“Y-Yeah…”— she shyly admits.
(Y/N) hesitates, not wanting to abandon the safety of the car. But again, what threats are out there?
With a sigh and a small nod, they unbuckle their belt as a silent 'okay'.
When out of the vehicle, the duo got a spine chill almost at the same time. The house looked even bigger, the old structure menacingly hovering over them, reminding how little they are.
But even then, even despite the house's menacing look...
The atmosphere remained melancholic, lonely.
—"The house looks so sad..."— your sister comments with a frown.
—"Indeed it does songbird... Indeed it does..."— you reply, having a frown as well.
—"Do you think the ghost of Michael Myers is looking at us?"— she asks innocently.
(Y/N) gives their sister a look.
—"(S/N), I said he was locked up, not that he died- "— you try to correct her.
—"He may have super powers! What if he can turn secretly into a ghost?!"— she exclaims, though more that scared she sounded excited about such possibility.
(Y/N) simply chucles at the girl's innocence and how quickly she could get out of track with her theories and imagination.
—"Yeah, maybe you're right. It's a cool super power though."— you comment, a bit more casually. —"But I think it's time for us to go sweetheart, remember we still have groceries to buy, as well some stuff for Halloween."—
(S/N) lets out a little gasp.
—"Oh my god you're right! Let's go let's go!- "—she grabs your hand ready to leave but abruptly stops. —"Wait!..."—
She suddenly starts to rummage in her school backpack, gaining a confused yet curious look from (Y/N). With a little 'aha!' she pulls out a drawing.
—"Okaaaay...? What are you planning young lady?"— you arch a brow.
—"It's a gift, I want to gift it to the house!"— she exclaims with a big smile.
—"...What?"— you look at her with confusion. —"You want to gift one of your drawings to an old house?"— your eyes narrow a bit when she nods.
—"Yeah! I mean... I don't like how sad the house looks, so gloomy and... Lonely. You always smile when I gift you a drawing, so I want to try it here!"—
(Y/N) remains silent, though a bit of warmth tickled in their chest at how innocent and sweet (S/N) is acting. They look towards the house, the path to the front door completely overgrown, the dry grass being as unwelcoming as possible, threatning to stick and pinch whoever is dumb enough to enter.
—"I will be fast! Just slide it through the mail slot and then we run back into the car!"—
Their eyes narrow even more.
—"You want to slide it inside?!"—
—"Yes! So the ghost can see and see what a cool artist I am, I even made it spooky!"—
(Y/N) finally takes a moment to glance at the drawing; it was an orange dinosaur, a spinosaurus to be more specific, that had an agry expression. What's the spooky part? The dinosaur is wearing a black witch hat with a red magic wand and a scarf. The drawing also had some things written, all of them spelled wrong of course, insead of saying 'Dinosaur! Happy Halloween!' it said 'Dienosore! Happee Hallowin!'.
(Y/N) couldn't help but to let out a small chuckle at the spelling, they definetely must start teaching their sister some grammar.
—"Alright... But we go together, okay? You slide that in there real quick and we're out."— you say, a bit more strictly.
—"Okay!... Well, maybe also this."— she takes out a little chocolate bar out of her pocket.
—"You want to also leave a treat for the ghost?"— you arch your brow again.
(S/N) simply giggles.
—"No silly, it's for the Boogeyman! So he eats this instead of my ankles."—
—"Didn't we agree that a ghost lives- "—
—"The Boogeyman is the ghost's dog!"—
(Y/N) let out a tired sigh as they roll their eyes, whatever lore (S/N) is having in her mind is getting progressively worse.
—"Okay okay, as you say. Let's hurry up, we don't want the store to get flooded and have all the best decorations sold."—
The little girl nods enthusiastically and takes their hand before they start walking.
(Y/N) is careful with their steps, making sure to not step on any thorn or stick that could potentially hurt their sister, (S/N) meanwhile was loyally following her sibling's footsteps, trusting them completely.
Ones they made their way to the front door, the odd sense of alarm starts to finally creep through (Y/N)'s back, like a bunch of bugs running under their skin in sheer panic, trying to escape and hide from whatever threat is looming in the air.
The older sibling takes a more protective pose, griping their sister's shoulder firmply and eyeing at every possible direction, looking for the sourse of that alarming feeling (S/N) was totally oblivious of.
The little girl, with a happy-go-lucky attitude slides the drawing and the candy through the mail slot like she said, and ones done turns toward (Y/N).
—"Done!"—
As soon as (S/N) said that, her small frame is yanked towards the fence, away from the sketchy building.
—"Good... Now let's go."— you say, your tone a bit more urgent.
(S/N) glances at them with a little frown, noticing the change in their attitude.
—"Are you scared, (Y/N)?"— she innocently asks.
The question made them stop in their tracks, they pause for a moment but eventually sigh.
—"A bit, maybe..."— you reply honestly.
The girl frowns more, but then her expression brightens as she wraps her arms around her sibling's waist.
—"Don't worry (Y/N)! If the Boogeyman dares to come for you I'm going to protect you!"—
Such statemant made them release a scoff.
—"You? A little garden gnome is going to safe the day?"— you tease.
—"Yes! If a monster tries to do something to you then I'll uh... I'll step on their big toe and slap their elbows! Yeah!"— she exclaims, determination shining in her eyes.
Though the childrish threat didn't soothe (Y/N)'s mind, it did lightened their mood a bit.
—"Step on toes, huh? Watch out sis, that's some very serious threats right there."—
—"I know! Bet I'll make the monster cry."— she grins mischievously.
—"You sure? You won't back away at the last second? Just like you did this summer when you tried to catch a gekko in our backyard."— you chuckle at her angry face.
—"The lizard was scary! I didn't know it could climb on walls!"— she childishly whines as she gives you a little punch in the arm. —"And stop laughing! It wasn't funny!"—
—"Didn't you hysterically laugh when you spooked me with that hideous horse mask on?"—
—"Thas was fuuny! The gekko running up walls wasn't!"—
The both siblings started to go back and forth with their little argument of what was or not funny, the argument at some point turned into a small playful fight that was anything but serious. At some point the duo lean against the car, loudly cackling and hugging each other for additional support.
Their roudy interaction didn't go unnoticed, appart from some disapproving glares from the local neighbors, a pair of dark eyes oberved them as well.
The icy blue eyes of the monster hiding in the darkest part of the house watched the duo since their arrival. At first, he was indifferent, just a pair of dummies coming to retell the same story over and over... But eventually, his opinion changed, their dynamic and behavoir was something unique to him.
The way that little girl wasn't afraid of the 'Boogeyman' living inside and how calm her sibling was towards her request to come closer was something he never seen before. Sure some teens would drag their young brothers and sisters towards his old house to give them a scare, terrify them with stories and how he is going to supposedly come and take them, but these two...
Something awakened inside of him, not just curiousity but also something bittersweet... If things had turned the way he wanted he may had the same relationship with boo... The same strong bond he always craved since childhood.
When the car eventually left the neighborhood, that odd awakened feeling vanished as well, making his chest feel empty and cold again...
He has no idea why or what is going on with him. Why some strangers affected him in a such personal level. All he knows is that now the emptiness is being slowly replaced with an unhinged desire...
Desire to find these two and observe them again...

TELL US ABOUT YOUR OTHER AUS (IF ABLE AND WILLING AND YOU WANT TO) ‼️‼️‼️
Tread carefully, Anon... Once I start yapping, I can't stop (jokes on you tho, I love yapping. Let's go)
I assume you mean aus for HSR specifically? I've got a lot more for genshin, but to stop myself from going on massive tangents, I'll just stick to HSR. I'll keep them all as summaries and go into more depth if there's any interest. Ok here we go:
Chimera Yanqing has kinda become my whole thing now, but I've never actually mentioned the other characters that I've also made chimera forms for. Namely Jing Yuan.
He doesn't really have any lore...? Unlike Yanqing, I was too focused on making him look pretty, which is easy because it's Jing Yuan. I'll make an update if I add anything more to his lore, cause I'd hate to just leave him unfinished forever. I do have a chimera Yunli au too, which I'll also save for another time. (Also keep in mind that he has wayyyy more fur than what I've shown. It just would've made his actual form unclear. He is very, very fluffy, canonically)
Mara-struck Yanqing (aka How the general ate the cabbage). Made a whole fic for this one, the plot is in the pudding, and by pudding I mean my ao3 lol. Instead of deflecting Jingliu's ult, Yanqing is instead killed and mara-stricken, and everything falls apart from there. Keeping it vague since it's still in progress. As of writing this, I'm three chapters in, so check it out if you're interested <3
Band au. I actually forgot about this one until I went through my list. Basically, It's a modern au where the high cloud quintet were a huge band back in ye olden days of the mid 1980s until their downfall, where the lead singer (Baiheng) is killed in an accident, triggering a series of unfortunate fates for 3 of the 4 remaining members. Jing Yuan is the only member still working in the industry and adopted Yanqing roughly 20 years after the the HCQ's fallout. One day, though, after years of no contact, Blade comes back into Jing Yuan's life, seeking refuge from law enforcement, and it all tumbles out of control from there after Jing Yuan accepts. The rest of the story would follow a very suspicious Yanqing wondering what the deal is with his dad's weird new boyfriend, and eventually reuniting the 4 remaining members (getting the band back together, as Phineas would say). There is SO much lore for this one, but it would take up this entire post to explain, so I'll probably just make it into its own post (with designs ofc). Tbh I haven't done as much work on this one as the others simply because I just don't know that much about music? Zel does though, so if I ever come back to it, I can go to him as a consultant.
Kind of an odd one, but I'm including it since it sorta counts, and I've become pretty fond of it over time. Mom Lumine au(s) Xiaother being Yanqing's dads is one of my favorite little crack aus. This au is the brainchild of imagining Yanqing as Lumine's child instead, but me as the author not enjoying xiaolumi as much. Thus, this was born. There's not really a story? Just a bunch of loosely put together concepts with multiple potential narratives that I find fun. Most of the time I default Childe as Yanqing's bio dad. In a weird way, it makes sense in my head? Yanqing resembles Lumine and uses a sword, and has that same go-getting, battle-hungry attitude as Childe, with all the knock-outs to boot. I mainly imagine chilumi as this interstellar crime duo; the Bonnie and Clyde of space, if you will. Because, honestly, if Yanqing's parents are ever to be revealed, would it not be the funniest thing for them to turn out to be criminals? I think it's hilarious, because Yanqing himself would be mortified.
Guardian Blade/Stellaron Hunter Yanqing au. These names are kinda lazy cause I usually don't make official titles for them unless their a fic, which this one happens to be. Here, Yanqing is an abomination of abundance, and as my interpretation usually goes, the only person who knows about this is Jing Yuan. Him and one other - blade, who was confided in the secret shortly after Jing Yuan had taken baby Yanqing in. Jing Yuan made Blade promise that, should the truth ever be uncovered and Jing Yuan punished, Blade is to take Yanqing and protect him. And years down the line, when the truth does finally reveal itself, Blade fulfills his promise. Theoretically, Yanqing would then join the stellaron hunters, albeit unenthusiastically. I haven't actually made any plans for that concept outside of a single one-shot. I still need to finish the actual fic first lmao.
Mara-struck Jing Yuan au. Probably the least original one I have to offer, because there's nothing particularly unique about it aside from one little twist I added that I think differentiates it, and that's that Yanqing doesn't actually kill Jing Yuan, or vice versa. Instead, Jing Yuan, in his current state, attacks everyone and everything except for Yanqing, and actually goes out of his way to keep Yanqing away from danger. The way I rationalize this (and this is me stretching the mara lore a LOT) is that Yanqing is so important to Jing Yuan that he creates a sort of blind spot to the mara when present; he is both innately precious and harbors only positive memories in Jing Yuan's mind, so in a way, he retroactively contradicts the way mara-struck!Jing Yuan would normally perceive him, seeing Yanqing as something to protect rather than attack (i hope that made any sense </3). This would probably never actually happen in canon. I just really like the idea of Jing Yuan's love for his son being so strong that it stays with him even after he's gone mad and can no longer remember what Yanqing means to him.
Progenitor au. Saved this one for last because it's been occupying my entire brain for the past few days. It's based on Dillongoo's Progenitor Albedo series, and by based, I mean it's just the same au, same universe and everything, but HSR. I won't go into the details because I'm planning to make it its own dedicated post as well, but I think its safe to say its becoming my favorite au out of all of these. I already have some designs and original lore cooked up, so hopefully I can post about it soon.
I think that's all of them? Debatable if some of these even count as aus, but who cares. I hope you enjoyed my rambles and found my ideas interesting enough to read through. I'm hoping to eventually give them some more life and make actual content with them.
Till next time <3

hello everyone I made a little poll about this wip on my alt blog, so here it is \o/!! fic for some of the shotgunners (Matt, Felps, Guaxi) except I don’t feel like I’ve watched enough to write about this confrontation + resolution correctly, so just take this little lead up thing I wrote because I really wanted to write something for them…
reblogs appreciated, hope you enjoy \o/!!
Well, Felps is now stuck between a rock and a hard place. Although using rock to describe the demon pathetically clinging to his arm—who made himself smaller just so he could stare up at Felps with wide eyes—doesn’t seem entirely accurate. But it is working. Even if it makes it a little hard to see what he’s signing.
“Matt…” Felps sighs. How to put this? “I want to stay on good terms with Guaxinim.”
“It’ll be fine!” Matt insists. “You two have already fought, right? Just say it’s a misunderstanding similar to that if it goes wrong.”
“He might be too paranoid for that, you know?”
“But we’ve already all investigated together and he was fine then! It doesn’t need to be anything big—just, you know, that you trust me.” Matt pauses, seeming to consider something. “And… maybe that you don’t think people will think badly of him for talking with a demon?”
“Ah, Matt… you’re pushing it a little, yeah?” Felps sighs. “But, fine. I’ll see what I can do.”
“Thank you!”
Matt uncurls himself and throws his arms around Felps in a tight hug. Honestly—he is taller than Felps. That crouched position to make himself look smaller couldn’t have been very comfortable for long. Or maybe it’s fine for demons—he doesn’t know.
Out of Felps and Guaxinim it’s almost funny that it’s shaken out like this. But he’s never been a very good Saint. Does Matt appreciate the irony, too?
“Okay, okay.” He hugs Matt a little tighter before trying to pull away. For a moment—he doesn’t think Matt is going to let him. “I’ll go talk to him now. But don’t expect it to work, okay?”
“Of course.” Matt smiles—and how can Guaxinim say with so much confidence that the man in front of him is ugly? It’s certainly not true. Not in Felps’ opinion, at least. “Thank you for trying, though.”
“Of course, of course, it’s no problem.”
He does… sort of trust Matt. Compared to everyone else on the island that isn’t in their group, he could even say he trusts Matt the most. If someone suggested he be added to their chat, Felps wouldn’t argue. They are already kind of investigating with him, anyway.
He has no idea what’s going on with Matt and Bagi, but maybe if this thing with Xinim and Matt smoothes over he will get an invite. If Meiaum has any reservations about it Felps is sure he’ll easily be able to convince those away.
With another thank you, and a goodbye, Matt runs off. Leaving Felps with the mammoth task of somehow convincing Guaxinim to be less harsh with Matt.
“Where are you?” He messages Guaxi. “I want to talk.”
Guaxinim sends his location. With a belated, “Everything okay?”
“Just have some information.” Felps replies.
Then he plugs the coordinates into his map and stops focusing on messaging in favour of getting there as quick as possible. It’s starting to turn night, and Felps doesn’t want to deal with the myriad of monsters that will shortly appear. At least he seems close.
He has no idea how he’s going to do this. Guaxinim worries too much. Or maybe not too much—just… too explosively. After all, Felps is fairly certain he does like Matt, he just… doesn’t want to be seen with him?
With every passing day back on this earth he understands the people on it less and less.
At least the chaos they create is entertaining, but it does beg the question—should Felps reveal what he is? Will that calm Guaxinim’s mind? He really didn’t want anyone to know, but maybe…?
Matt knows. Matt definitely knows. The first time they met Matt had looked at him like he could see more—like he could see the haze Felps himself sees when he looks in mirrors—red eyes wide and glittering with wonder as he called him Saint Felps after Felps had introduced himself.
And that’s already one person more than he would like to know.
But if Guaxinim is worried about Matt’s demon status reflecting badly on him, he shouldn’t have to. As much as Felps isn’t good at being a Saint, Matt isn’t good at being a demon, either. Anyone on this island will easily see that.
And somehow he has to convey that without revealing what he is. Because, no, thinking about it—two people knowing is quite enough, thank you. And Guaxinim has sold him out before… maybe. Felps is still unclear on the truth of that situation, but he’s willing to put it mostly behind him.
Mostly.
He doesn’t want this information getting out, and Guaxinim can’t be trusted with that right now. He’ll save it for if things really start going wrong.
Guaxinim jumps out in front of him with a hello on his hands, and Felps barely notices the latter—too busy yelping and recovering from the fright.
“Hey, Felps.” He repeats, smiling a little too much like he finds this funny. “You okay?”
“What a scare.” Felps lets his hands shake as he signs it, then he weakly pushes at Guaxinim. “For the love of god, Xinim, don’t do that!”
“Hey, it’s not my fault, right?” Guaxinim complains. “You were too deep in thought—how else was I supposed to get your attention?”
And… Well, he’s right, but Felps isn’t going to admit that.
“Listen…” Then he sighs, and looks around, and beckons Guaxinim a few steps to the left. “Come here, come here—it’s too exposed there.”
“Okay, okay.” Guaxinim signs as he follows after Felps with a laugh.
Good. He doesn’t want this to come off like a serious conversation.
…Even though they have been having serious conversations like this, too. But it at least adds some levity to the situation.

this is about as far as I dare write with how little I currently know… hope you enjoyed though \o/!!

My Name or Nothing At All
a/n: Oh hi. My lovely, beautiful and very smart friend convinced me to write this after I sent her a teeny tiny imagine based on that look on Josh’s face. 5k+ words later, my first fic was born. Oops. Shout out to all my pookies who got to read it first <3
pairing: Josh x f!reader
summary: You’ve made your boyfriend jealous for the first time, and he simply won’t stand for it :)
warnings: 18+ minors stay far away, language, light arguing, graphic sexual content, oral (f. receiving), fingering, unprotected penetrative sex, yadda yadda - enjoy!
update: read part 2 here
Josh can sense the look on his face before he’s even begun to process how he’s feeling. Is he… jealous? That seems ridiculous, but as he watches you from where he’s perched on his seat near the pool tables, he can see the playful smirk dancing across your lips. And it’s directed at the bartender who’s barely focused on the drink he’s mixing for you. Are you batting your fucking eyelashes at this guy? Oh okay, and suddenly this is the funniest bartender on earth, got it.
Hearing your flirtatious, and honestly pretty theatrical, laughter from across the room, Josh decides he’s seen more than enough. Hopping down from his barstool, he makes his way toward you slowly while taking in your body language. You’re fully leaned over the bar top, barely even on your stool anymore. Your legs are crossed, causing your skirt (which is already hugging your body, leaving little to the imagination) to ride scandalously high on your thigh. Your chin is placed on top of your folded hands as your elbows rest on the bar. Well shit, you look absolutely smitten with Mr. Bartender at this point. Josh can feel the heat rising from his own chest, creeping up his neck to his cheeks. He’s definitely jealous, and he’s a little pissed off.
Finally reaching you, with a gentle hand placed to your lower back, you hear his voice barely an inch away from your left ear.
“Having fun over here without me darling?” he practically hums, the tone and low pitch causing you to sit up straight and move your ass back to be fully seated on the stool. Turning your head to him, you grin as your eyes scan his face. His cheeks are flushed, his eyes narrowed at you with an obviously fake smile stretching across his lips. He’s so breathtakingly beautiful, but you can tell something is off.
“Oh,” you giggle out, “Austin was just telling me some stories about the craziest things he’s seen drunk people get up to in this city. He’s worked at a bunch of different bars in the last f-“
“Austin,” Josh cuts you off, directing his attention to the bartender, “we’d like to close our tab. There’s been a bit of an emergency and we need to go. Now.”
The final word comes out clipped, and is directed at you. Eyes wide and eyebrows raised, you look at your boyfriend like he’s grown a second head. Josh is never rude like this to the staff of any establishment, especially one you frequent regularly. Your shock and confusion are clear on your face as you attempt to ask him if everything is alright, what’s the emergency? But he cuts you off again as Austin places the slip for Josh to sign down on the bar top.
“Go get in the car,” he breathes out at a volume low enough for only you to hear as he signs the receipt and drops the pen to the bar in lieu of handing it back to Austin directly. He passes you his keys and you’re already moving towards the front of the building; you don’t see the fire behind Josh’s eyes as he tells Austin to have a good night, muttering “go fuck yourself” under his breath as he turns on his heel to follow you.
He finds you already in the passenger seat of his Jeep, and as he lifts himself into the driver’s seat you’re bombarding him with questions.
“Is everyone okay? Are YOU okay? What’s the emergency?” you spew out quickly, feeling slight panic start to bubble up.
“Y/N.. shut up.”
Your mouth drops open and you stare at his profile, bewildered, for just a second before he starts to speak again.
Hands gripping the steering wheel, eyes set forward, with a deep and eerily calm voice he says, “There is no emergency. Unless of course you consider my girlfriend flirting with the bartender like a shameless slut an emergency.”
A loud bark of a laugh breaks out of you immediately. “Joshua you cannot be fucking serious right now, I thought something was wrong, I thought someone was hurt for Christ sake! You’re an idiot,” you finish on a giggle and put your seatbelt on. “Let’s go home.”
Turning the key in the ignition, Josh looks over to you briefly. “We will be going home, to OUR home, that we SHARE, because we’re in love yeah?”
“Obviously Josh, what the fuck are you-“
“You love me, and yet you left me at that table to wait for you while you were giving ‘fuck me’ eyes to Austin in front of the whole fucking bar. Including me. How do you think that makes me feel?” He hasn’t raised the volume of his voice, but you can feel the anger rolling off of him in waves as he starts to drive. You won’t tell him, but he looks so good like this. The way his jaw is tensed up right now just makes you want to nip and bite and lick it; you squeeze your thighs together at the thought as he glances to you to speak again.
“It feels shitty Y/N. And I’m pissed off and I think you need a reminder of who you belong to.”
Oh, fuck.
You know Josh doesn’t look at you as a possession of his, but right now you’re feeling a little bit like you need to be possessed. Making him jealous wasn’t intentional, you’re just a little tipsy and the bartender was friendly.
“Josh…” you speak quietly, once again at his profile as he’s focused on the road and turning onto your street. “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to-“
“Save it.” Damn, can he let you get a full sentence out? Your cheeks grow warm, a little from embarrassment as your body reacts to the venom in his voice, and a little from your own anger at his behavior.
Pulling into the driveway of your home silently, he puts the car in park and turns it off. As you both remove your seatbelts he turns his body to you, “Don’t even think about running in there and hiding away in the bedroom or elsewhere. I’ve realized I just can’t let you out of my sight without you turning into some promiscuous hussy.”
This makes you smile, almost laughing in his face, but the look in his eyes gives a warning. Despite his choice of words, he’s not joking so you drop the smirk and simply nod your head. He nods back and you both step out of the Jeep and head to the front door side by side. With a hand once again placed on your lower back, he unlocks and opens the door with the other and guides you inside just ahead of him. Without turning around, he pushes the door closed and flips the lock with one hand and grips the front of your shirt with the other, pulling you close enough to his body to feel his breath fall across your lips.
Barely more than a whisper he states, “You’re mine. Only mine.”
You’ve been turned on beyond belief since the third? fourth? time he cut you off mid-sentence tonight. But THIS. You can feel the wetness pooling between your thighs before he even brings his lips to yours. The kiss is soft and it lingers, this is your Josh and god do you love him with everything you have. As you reach up to cradle his jaw in both hands, he stops you, gripping each wrist before you can make contact with his skin.
Forehead now against yours, he tells you, “Ya know babe, I really intended to get you home and let you know what a bad girl you’ve been tonight.” He pulls one of your wrists to his lips and places a kiss to it before doing the same to the other. “I was really fucking mad. I thought about punishing you, but I could never hurt you. Considered fucking you and not letting you finish. M’just not a selfish person though, ya know?”
With that, he waits and makes sure your eyes are open and on his. You nod slightly, wanting him to keep talking, to tell you everything he’s thinking. You’re already practically panting, and literally dripping with anticipation for where this is headed.
At your cue, a small smile forms on his perfect lips and you get just a peek at his top row of teeth. “I think that not letting you cum isn’t really a suitable punishment for your wanton behavior with Austin. I think you need a good reminder of exactly why you love being mine, not his, not anyone else’s. Mine.”
A small whine escapes your lips. “Baby, I love you, I don’t want anyone el-“
He cuts you off, again, but this time with his lips, crashing into yours with enough force that your teeth clash together. This doesn’t stop him, as he releases your wrists and brings one hand down to your waist and the other up the side of your neck and around to find purchase in the hair at the base of your skull. Using the hand in your hair, he maneuvers your head to move with him, however he needs, to gain full access to your mouth. On a sigh, your lips open just enough for his tongue to find its way in between them. Matching his eagerness, yours pushes back and they dance together like this, like they’ve done hundreds of times before. You’re melting into each other as your hands move to grip the front of his white t-shirt, then reach around to splay your fingers across his back and pull his body closer.
Needing air and a moment to clear his head and get back on track, he pulls away from the kiss. “Fuck,” he pants out with a heavy breath, “Stop apologizing, stop making excuses. I’m gonna show you exactly why you love me so much. I’m gonna fuck you so stupid that all you can remember is my name.” With that, he pushes you away from him and turns your body towards the stairs. “Get up there.”
He doesn’t expect you to go up and wait for him, he wasn’t joking when he said you weren’t leaving his sight. As you make your way to the stairs and ascend, he’s right on your heels with a playful hand gripping and leaving a light smack to your ass. Crossing the threshold of your shared bedroom, you’re spun back around to face him. His breathing is still labored, and your panties are soaked. His cheeks are tinted a rosy pink once again, his lips slightly kiss-swollen and you know your features match his right now.
Reaching out to the hem of your shirt, he tugs it upwards and over your head without a word. He only spends a moment admiring the bare skin he’s revealed before reaching behind you to undo the clasp of your bra. As it falls loose, he lifts a hand to nudge your chin, wanting to see your eyes. When they meet his, your pupils are already blown wide.
“Oh sweetheart, I haven’t even touched you yet.”
You breathe out a laugh and almost attempt another apology for upsetting him, almost tell him that you don’t even regret it though because his jealousy has gotten you hot and bothered to an embarrassing degree, almost tell him to shut up and get on with it. You’ve remembered however, that he doesn’t want to hear it. Josh has promised you some sort of punishment, or “reminder” as he’s called it, and you’re more than ready for him to deliver.
“Smart girl, remembering to keep her mouth shut,” he hums out his satisfaction at your silence. Reaching to push the straps of your bra past your shoulders and down your arms, he continues, “Need the rest of your clothes off. Need to see all of what’s mine.” His touch and his murmuring, almost as if he’s talking to himself, cause goosebumps to raise on your skin. Once your bra has been tossed to the side, he looks you over to admire his handiwork.
“Are you wet for me, sweet girl?”
All you can do is nod your head, you don’t want to displease him, not now that things are finally getting fun.
“Tell me, I wanna hear all about it.”
You swallow thickly before responding, “Y-yes.”
“Yes, what?”
“I’m so wet for you Josh.. I have been since the drive home. Only for you..” You add the last part hoping that he’ll finally let you in on his plans for you. How he’s going to remind you who you belong to.
He palms his dick over his pants, his growing erection becoming noticeable. With a slight growl from deep in his throat, his eyes scan your body from the top, stopping at the waist of your skirt. “Show me. Take the skirt off, touch your pretty little panties and show me.”
Fuuuuuck. This is not how things usually go. Josh is sweet. He’s sunshine, everybody says so. He’s the same in the bedroom, lovingly removing the clothing from your body and touching you as if you’re made of porcelain. Something delicate and precious, he usually savors every moment. Cherishing you. Right now though, you can tell his jealousy has left him feeling a little emasculated, unsure of himself. He’s asking you to prove to him that you want him. Only him. So of course, his wish is your command.
As he watches closely, only a foot or two of distance now between you, you peel the skirt down your legs from the top. Wanting to put on just a little show for him, you bend seductively at the waist to push the skirt down past your knees and allow it to pool at your feet. You take this opportunity to also slip your shoes from your feet and push each item away from you with your toes as you stand back up to face him. He’s been watching with rapt attention, his bottom lip sucked firmly between his teeth. After rubbing himself over his pants once again, he crosses his arms and brings his eyes to yours.
“Touch yourself, love. Show me how bad you want me.”
You do as he asks, slipping the first two fingers of your right hand between your legs, over the drenched cotton of your panties. The pressure is light, but your body has been buzzing for what feels like hours now and the sensation of your fingertips running over your clothed pussy has you biting back a moan. With your own bottom lip now between your teeth, you lift your hand towards him and rub your thumb together with the fingers that are coated with your arousal.
His hand shoots out to grip your wrist and bring it closer for him to inspect, which moves your bodies nearer each other. The glisten on your fingertips makes him smile, a full-fledged toothy grin, before he moves your fingers to his mouth and slips them between his lips. His tongue moves slowly around each finger, savoring the taste of you. Pulling off of your fingers with a pop, he whispers out, “So sweet.. tastes like heaven babe. Need more…”
Josh presses his palm to the center of your chest and lightly pushes you backwards until the backs of your knees meet the bed. You remain standing that way for a beat, until he moves forward and presses the full length of his body against yours, leaning his head down to press a kiss into the skin of your shoulder. From this position he turns his head slightly so he can speak directly into your ear.
“Lay back on the bed sweetheart. Be a good girl for me, for once.”
You scoff at that, a small sound but he’s heard it.
“Don’t forget that you’re in trouble, love. Batting your pretty eyelashes at that idiot, laughing at everything he said. Was he really so charming that you forgot all about me?”
You bend your knees to take a seat on the edge of the mattress. Exasperated, you spit out “Josh, seriously? I’m literally naked in our bed for you and you still think that I give a fuck ab-“
He cuts you off, of course he does, but this time a hand is clasped over your mouth and the other is gripping the back of your head. You feel your eyes bulge and your pussy clench around nothing. What the fuck is wrong with me?
“Stop talking. For the love of god, shut up. You’re a brat, you know that?” His gaze has gone hard again, his jaw flexing as he pulls his hand off your mouth long enough to run it over his face. He replaces it quickly. “Here’s the plan my love… I told you I couldn’t punish you, that I couldn’t hurt you. So instead what m’gonna do is make you cum. Once, maybe twice on my mouth, once on my fingers at least, maybe I’ll make you make yourself cum while I watch…” He pauses to think that over for a second, then shakes his head to regroup his thoughts, “And definitely again on my cock. Again and again. Because you, are mine. No one else’s. And you’re never going to forget that.”
Removing his hand from your mouth, he allows you to take in a gasping breath before using the hand on the back of your head to pull you down to the mattress by your hair. You’re almost afraid to make a sound, afraid that he’ll stop. His mouth finds you, soft lips leaving a bruising kiss on yours. His hands are all over you now, your exposed torso left without his attention for too long. His kisses trail from your mouth to your jaw, down your neck where he sinks his teeth in lightly, drawing a shudder and a moan from your body. He smooths his tongue over the marks he’s left behind before continuing his path down your chest. No time is wasted there however, his need to taste you and feel your first orgasm of the night has him in a rush.
Your breaths are heavy as he assaults your skin with his mouth, his hands reaching the waistband of your underwear where he teases his fingertips for a moment. You whine at this, whimper out his name, encourage him to keep going.
“That’s right baby,” he mumbles against the skin covering your hipbone, “that’s all I wanna hear, my name, say it again.”
And you do, over and over, Josh Josh JOSH please baby please please…
Josh smiles to himself, loving the sound of his name in your fucked out voice. He still has barely touched you and you’re practically quivering underneath him. Slipping his fingers under the sides of your panties he draws them down your thighs, past your knees, and pulls them away from you. Stopping to peek at the dampened material that was resting between your legs, he smiles again as he kneels on the floor in front of you. His hands find their way to your knees and creep inward to push them apart, effectively spreading you open to him.
His gaze lingers on your exposed pussy for a moment, witnessing your arousal dripping (literally dripping) out of you. He licks his lips before raising his eyes up to your face, where he finds you already looking at him. Your chest is flushed with anticipation, and he thinks to himself that you look quite beautiful spread out for him, wanting him so badly. He doesn’t speak it out loud, you are being punished after all.
Your eyes don’t leave each other’s as he lowers his face to your core. He can’t resist reaching forward to swipe his fingers through the wetness first, just to feel the slick, satisfying slip of it. He pops those fingers into his own mouth briefly, removes them and licks his lips one more time. A pleased hum comes from you both before he leans in and licks a broad stripe up through your folds, ending with a flick of the tongue over your swollen clit. Your body jolts at the action, having been floating in a haze of arousal for far too long.
“JOSH fuck, Josh please don’t stop..”
“Sweetheart I’m just getting started,” he replies directly into your cunt before he begins to lick at you in a frenzy. He’s eating you out like a starved man, tasting your need for him, before he focuses his attention with pointed flicks to your clit. His hands move under your thighs and around to pull them closer to his face and as your back arches off the bed, he sucks your clit past his lips. One of your hands flies down to grasp onto his curls and the band that’s been stretched taut low in your belly snaps suddenly, his name spilling from your mouth with a string of expletives as your orgasm pulls you under and your thighs close in around his head, shaking. He laps at you slowly as you come down, easing you back to earth with him.
As you let your legs fall open and you attempt to open and focus your eyes on his face, he’s already buried it into your pussy again.
“JOSH! Josh it’s too much, gimme a minute!” you gasp out, gripping and tugging on his hair to try and pull him away from you.
It works briefly, and he lifts his head only long enough to shoot you a shit eating grin, his lips and the lower half of his face shining in the low light from the window.
“I don’t give a fuck if it’s too much, cum again for me.”
Two fingers slide up through your slick folds before they’re plunged into you and his lips are reattached to your overstimulated clit. You’re already pulsing around his fingers and he can feel how close you are to giving him another. He’s sliding them in and out of you at a quick, steady pace and lifts his face from you to watch himself work, enjoying the sound and feel of your wetness coating him. Tearing his eyes away from the sight to glance up at your face, he finds your cheeks red and eyes screwed shut.
“Baby,” he coos up at you, but your eyes remain closed and your hands move to grip the comforter on either side of your body. “Y/N look at me,” he commands with force as he moves from his kneeling position on the floor to join you on the bed. Your eyes shoot open and land directly on his as he’s now hovering over you, his fingers still tucked deep inside you.
“Hi pretty girl,” he sounds innocent but as soon as you attempt a shy smile at him, he curls his fingers inside you, tapping that spot that makes your toes curl.
“FUCK Joshuaaaaa,” his full name leaves your mouth in a whine and he simply repeats the motion with his fingers. Again, again, then pumps them in and out of you once, twice, three times. A final curl of them causes you to cry out and your cunt clenches down around them. Your mouth remains open in a silent scream and your body tenses and releases onto his hand.
“That’s my good girl, doing so well… we’re not done yet though babe.”
You’re a panting mess, limp against the mattress as Josh leans over your face. Tapping his fingers to your lips, you allow him to dip them into your mouth. Your tongue swirls around them until he seems satisfied and pulls them away to stand from the bed. It strikes you that he’s still fully clothed as you hear him kick his shoes off.
You focus on his movements as he goes to disrobe slowly, casually. He’s no longer in a hurry even though his dick hasn’t been touched and it’s now straining against the material of his khakis. He spots you eyeing it. “Hey, eyes up here pervert,” he giggles.
“Oh I’m the pervert when you’ve been-“
“Quiet. My name or nothing at all.”
God damnit. Why is that sexy? You need to remember to not let him make a habit of it.
He continues to remove his clothing, lifting his shirt up and over his head. You watch his muscles flex as he does, first his stomach then his arms. He shakes out his curls once it’s off, moving to undo his belt.
“Josh…” you speak quietly, but it’s his name so you think he won’t mind. He quirks an eyebrow at your questioning and nods his head, so you continue. “Let me help. Let me take care of you, you deserve it.” Your doe eyes and pleading tone don’t work on him though.
“Hmm, no I don’t think so.” He pulls his belt out of the loops, pops the button on his pants and pulls down the zipper. Unceremoniously he tugs his pants down and kicks them away, standing now only in his black boxer briefs. You’ve propped yourself up on your elbows to watch him, your mouth is practically watering. He’s truly so beautiful. You can’t believe he would think you could want anyone else, he is everything.
“Joshua…” He looks up and stays silent. “You’re so hot babe.”
The smile nearly splits his face in half, his famous dimple making an appearance. “Don’t try to soften me up sweetheart. Thank you though.” He laughs off your compliment as he drops his briefs to his ankles, allowing his now painfully hard cock to spring upward. You almost comment on it but he doesn’t let you get a word in, he’s already moving back toward the bed with his hand now gripping himself. He lets out a groan as he strokes himself once, twice, slowly. Your body is tired but you push yourself up the bed and rest your head on the pillows. As he crawls up to you he resembles an animal stalking its prey, the look in his eyes is needy and hungry. You can’t look away.
“Sweet girl, you know I love you right?”
You only nod in response, you don’t think he wants to hear anything else.
“I want at least two more from you. You think you can do that for me?”
You nod again as his face reaches yours, your breaths mingling together as he nudges your nose with his. He’s between your legs and the tip of his cock is also nudging your entrance, his grip around it still firm as he runs it through the wetness that lingers there.
“Kiss me, babe, please.”
He almost scolds you for speaking but instead, indulges your request. As your lips meet, he pushes himself into you, sliding in easily and bottoming out. You let out a squeal into his mouth and he groans in relief. His hands, now gripping the sheets on either side of your head, flex a couple times before he brings one to your cheek. “Fuck, you feel so good baby, made for me. Mine, you’re fucking mine.” He growls out through gritted teeth. “You ready?”
He gives you a second to nod your head and captures your lips again as he pulls out, leaving just the head inside of you before slamming his hips into the back of your thighs. His name leaves your mouth in a yelp as he repeats the motion, building up to a bruising pace. The hand that was on your cheek comes to rest on your throat with light pressure, just enough for you to feel it. You feel completely possessed by him as he looks down between your bodies to watch himself moving inside you. You’re his, no one else’s. He has to know that.
Bringing his eyes back up to meet yours, his pupils are wide, his eyes so dark they’re almost black. Beads of sweat have started to form across his forehead, causing his curls to stick there. He’s slamming into you, your body being pushed toward the headboard, the tip of his cock brushing your cervix on every stroke. You can feel another orgasm creeping up on you slowly, and he can feel it too as you clench around him.
“I can feel you squeezing me, you’re such a good girl baby,” he grunts out. “Give it up for me.” He brings his free hand to your face, and you open your mouth, ready to accept anything he’s got to give. His thumb is on your tongue in an instant and you suck it lightly for a moment before he pulls it away and moves to bring it down to your extremely sensitive clit. His body shifts as the other hand leaves your throat, he’s moved back with his weight on his heels and he grips your waist. As soon as he’s got his thumb on your clit, he adds pressure as he moves it in swift circles. It’s immediately overstimulating, he hasn’t lost his rhythm as he’s pumping his hips into you, and you cry out his name.
“That’s right love, tell me who you belong to, who this sweet pussy belongs to.”
“You Josh, you you you, only y-you,” the words stumble out of you.
“Who makes you feel this good baby?”
“Youuuuu Josh,” you whine, the circles he’s drawing on your clit are unwavering and you know you’re seconds away from a third orgasm.
“That’s. Fucking. Right.” Each word is punctuated by a sharp thrust and you feel the wave crash down over you. It’s powerful and pulls you under as a haze of colors flash behind your eyelids.
“FUCK baby, that’s right, you’re soooo fucking good for me, my good girl,” you can hear Josh speaking, his excited words rushing out of him, but it sounds distant, like you’re floating outside of yourself. His rhythm has faltered and he strokes into you once, twice more before he’s spilling himself deep inside you with a drawn out groan. The grip on your hip is white-knuckled and sure to leave fingertip shaped bruises. He resists collapsing onto you, holding himself up as you float back down to the bed, to this universe. When your eyes open you first see his smile. It’s huge, all of his perfect teeth on display, the little gap between the front top two making you smile too. As your gaze moves lower you see that his torso, his stomach is soaking wet.
“What the fuck is-“
“You fucking squirted, I can’t believe this.” He sounds giddy, like a kid who just got exactly what he wanted for Christmas. “You’re so fucking perfect. And all mine. How did I get so lucky?” He’s almost giggling as he slowly pulls out of you and comes to rest on his side next to you.
“I’ve… never done that before,” you’re giggling now too, taking in Josh’s afterglow as he’s looking down, transfixed by the mess you’ve made of the bedding.
“Yeah, you think Mr. Bartender what’s-his-face could’ve made THAT happen?”
“Austin. His name’s Austin.”
Josh’s head whips up at that, a fire back in his eyes.
“Oh sweetheart… that was the wrong fucking answer.”

Kim (Y/n) thought leaving it all behind would make her happier. But the past two years showed her that running away from her problems couldn't change anything. She and her father moved to his hometown, Busan. She found herself in a different city, a different neighborhood, a different house, and a different high school, marking a fresh new start for her. Maybe she was too optimistic at the beginning.
The students at her new school quickly singled her out as the pathetic transfer girl with divorced parents. No one made an effort to talk to her. But she wasn't too fazed by it. After what had happened at her previous school, she wasn’t willing to get close to anyone again.
Time passed, and she focused on her studies as she had always done. The household was less chaotic with just her dad and herself. They were both quiet people who barely talked to each other, and she wasn't bothered much by that either.
Deciding before she graduated wasn't as stressful as it could've been. After passing the CSAT exam, a few acceptance letters rolled in. She was only able to get one scholarship from a college in Seoul, covering most of her tuition and dorm living expenses.
In the next few months, she was back to where she had started.
Things would be different this time, she told herself. Returning to her hometown didn't mean she was going to encounter anyone from her past, at least if she tried hard enough. But she was wrong.
Her mom, the woman she had hoped to never see again, reappeared in her life. She didn't seem to have changed since the last time they had seen each other. Perhaps driven by a lingering sense of guilt, she found herself compelled to check on her mother's well-being. Yet, she sometimes felt like she was reliving her childhood again. Except this time she was the parent, and her mother was the child.
Her mother's moods were unpredictable, fluctuating between highs and lows. Despite enduring numerous instances of being screamed at, (Y/n) recognized the importance of not being selfish. Ultimately, she was her mom, and (Y/n) was her only daughter. In the end, she was all her mother had.
In addition to her college commitments, she took on a part-time job to earn some money. She picked up a barista position, where she worked throughout the week. Oftentimes she left shifts with the scent of coffee clinging to her hair.
"Hey, you know that customer over there?" Her coworker pointed something out to her one day.
Hesitantly, she looked in the direction her coworker was gesturing to. A boy who looked about her age was sitting at the table near the front window, with another guy across from him. He had short, light brown hair with bangs that made him appear younger. She couldn't deny that he was attractive.
"What about him?" She asked, glancing back down at what she was doing before.
Her coworker nudged her elbow. "I think he might be interested in you. He only comes on the days you're working here."
Out of curiosity, she looked back up to see the slight surprise in his expression when she did, but it was immediately replaced with a smile.
"He's pretty good-looking too!" Her coworker gushed. "What if he asks you out?"
She laughed and rolled her eyes. There was no chance she was going to let herself be charmed by a stranger who she had only seen a handful of times. Besides, she couldn't fathom that a guy would like her.
Despite how her coworker faltered at her lack of interest, she shook her head and didn't bother to look at him again.
"Yeah, like that would ever happen."

She worked at his favorite coffee place on the weekends. But the café wasn't the only place he had seen her. She didn't seem to notice that they attended the same college. Her name was Kim (Y/n), a first-year student at Myung-guk University. They were both freshmen, so he had seen her in a few of his general education classes.
Jaemin didn't know when exactly he caught feelings. All of a sudden, he just found himself paying more attention to her. With the few chances he got to see her, he used them to take in her features. She had long, chestnut brown hair with bangs that brushed over her forehead. Her eyes were a few shades darker than her hair. She didn't wear any makeup, as the majority of her face was covered by the round, silver-rimmed glasses she wore. She always dressed so neatly, making her overall look fairly minimalistic.
Something about (Y/n) was different from what he was used to seeing. Unlike the other girls who swooned over him every time he passed by, she didn't even bat an eye. In class, she rarely spoke to anyone and always kept to herself in a reserved manner. She seemed disinterested in what everyone else was doing.
At the coffee shop, she was mostly the same. But she was kind to the customers and efficient in her work. Part of him was glad she was always so focused. She had yet to catch him admiring her from afar.
“Why don't you just ask her out already?” Jeno lightly elbowed him.
He was nice as a best friend and roommate. But he didn't know a thing when it came to romance.
Shaking his head, he took another sip of his black coffee. “Not yet, Jeno. It's too soon.”
When he turned to see her again, she was looking at him. He thought it was the first time she had properly noticed him. Trying not to stress too much, he sent her a smile. But instead of smiling back, she shook her head and walked to the back room.
However, he refused to let this one interaction discourage him. He had this gut feeling that told him she was the one for him.. It didn't matter if he had to wait. Good things came slowly, so one could treasure them more.
(Y/n) was like this puzzle, waiting to be put together by the right person. And Jaemin was confident that person was going to be him.
┈◦•◦♡•◦┈◦•◦♡•◦┈◦•◦♡•◦┈◦•◦♡•◦
Since that day, she became more aware of the attractive customer. Once she got a better look, she recognized him from somewhere.
She was pretty sure his name was Na Jaemin. She hadn't realized that they were in the same grade. As if things couldn't become any more peculiar, he was also in a few of her classes. She guessed she had been too focused on staying in her bubble to notice.
Jaemin was talked about quite a bit on campus. Of course, for all the reasons that didn't surprise her. He was charming, the girls couldn't seem to stop whispering about him, and all the guys wanted to be his friend. Other than that, she didn't know much about him, nor did she have the desire to.
From her impression, he was probably just one of those guys who dated too many girls and had a big ego. Maybe she was judging too quickly. Regardless, she decided she wanted nothing to do with Jaemin. He could stare at her all he wanted to at work. But he wasn't going to get a reaction from her. At least, that was what she had told herself.
"One iced americano!"
Her head was down in an attempt to avoid eye contact when she called his order. She heard the chair being pushed back and his footsteps coming closer to the counter.
"Ah, perfect every time," He sighed after taking a sip. His voice was a lot deeper than she had expected. Gesturing the drink to her, he smiled. "Thank you!"
Barely looking at him, she nodded and was relieved when he didn't say anything else. She thought that would be the end of what was barely a conversation. But then in the following week, he came again at his usual time, which was before noon. Rather than taking his drink and thanking her as usual, he stuck around a little longer.
"You're Kim (Y/n), right? I've seen you a few times at university."
Trying to get out of the conversation as soon as possible, she looked up at him and nodded. "Was there something else you needed?"
"Well, not exactly," He gave her that same smile from the last time. "I just wanted to ask if you're perhaps free after you get off of work?"
"Sorry, I have something to do today," She lied, immediately turning him down.
"Oh," His tone deflated. "That's fine, I understand. Another day, maybe?"
She sighed. Why was this guy so persistent?
"Excuse me, but you are a stranger to me, and I think we should keep it that way."
"So…you're saying no?"
"No," She said without thinking and quickly facepalmed. "I mean yes!"
Jaemin laughed, "I see you're a bit confused. I'll just ask next time."
"Wait, don't-" She started to say. But to her dismay, he had already left with his coffee.
She tried not to panic over what happened. Maybe he'd forget about it all when he came by again. But who was she kidding; he probably wouldn't.
A few days later, she was quickly packing up to leave class. Jaemin was there, which made her more nervous than anything. Luckily, he didn't seem to pay any attention to her during the lecture.
But when she went to grab her phone, she noticed a small blue sticky note that wasn't there before.
It would be nice to get to know each other, right? (˶ᵔᵕᵔ˶)
She was glad he wasn't there to see her cheeks turn pink when she saw his phone number attached. Why was he doing this? Was he targeting her as his next girl to play with?
She didn't know, and she didn't want to know the answer. Crumpling the paper in her hand, she threw it into her bag and spent the rest of the day trying to shove what happened out of her head.
┈◦•◦♡•◦┈◦•◦♡•◦┈◦•◦♡•◦┈◦•◦♡•◦
Even though she had refused him once already, Jaemin wasn't going to give up. He knew that pursuing (Y/n) wouldn't be easy, but the challenging aspect made things fun. She could put up as many obstacles as she wanted, and he was fully prepared to jump over one after the other.
It was so cute to see her get flustered when he talked to her. She may not think much of him right now, which further motivated him to prove to her that he had good intentions.
Jaemin saw her in the cafeteria one day, sitting alone at the table near the big windows. This was the perfect opportunity, he thought to himself. Without any hesitation, he quickly ordered his lunch and went to stand by the seat across from her.
"It's okay if I sit here, right?"
(Y/n) looked at him as if he was some newly discovered alien. Her eyes scattered around the other people around them who gave looks and made unnecessary whispers. He was used to ignoring them as much as possible.
Don't get him wrong, he thought it was nice that so many people at college admired him, especially since he was just a freshman. But he couldn't help but get slightly annoyed when people tried to hang out with him and acted all fake.
Before she could answer, Jaemin already set his lunch tray on the table. Once he sat down, he smiled at her.
"You and I must think alike," he gestured to their choices of meals for today, which was fish cake soup with udon noodles.
Her fingers tightened around her chopsticks. "Jaemin, why do you keep doing this to me?"
"What do you mean?" He asked and picked up his own utensils to eat.
"I'm not sure what your intentions are," she cleared her voice, "But I can assure you won't get far with a nobody like me."
He would've thought she was joking if it weren't for the bitterness in her tone.
"A nobody? Is that what you see yourself as?"
She nearly choked on her food when he asked her that. Her cheeks flushed with embarrassment, unsure of how to respond. Thankfully, she wasn't forced to answer when someone interrupted.
“Jaemin, finally I found you!” It was a boy with dark-brown hair and facial features that reminded her of a puppy.
Now that she thought about it, she had seen him on a few of Jaemin's visits to the cafe. She didn't know that he attended this college too.
The guy came over to sit in the empty seat beside Jaemin. So much for having a quiet lunch. The boy looked at her with a sense of familiarity.
"Oh! You're the girl from the coffee shop, right?"
Suddenly forgetting how to speak, she merely nodded. The friendliness in his eyes didn't disappear. "I'm Lee Jeno, an architecture major. I'm also Jaemin’s friend."
"What are you doing here?" Jaemin asked.
"I just got out of a class and wanted to find you. But it seems you're busy."
The light-haired boy turned back to her with an adoring smile. "Well, I’m having lunch with (Y/n). Jeno, isn't it funny that we got the same meal? We already have so much in common!"
Jeno smiled apologetically, patting his friend on the shoulder. "Ah, Jaeminie is a bit weird. Please understand, (Y/n)."
A smile crept onto her lips when his own friend said this. She wondered if Jaemin was going to retort with something back, but his attention was on her.
"Oh, she smiled!"
Instinctively, she clamped her hand over her mouth. "N-no, I didn't."
"Ah, cute. Isn't she cute, Jeno?"
His comments didn't do anything to help the heat that had risen to her cheeks. Jeno shook his head at Jaemin and pushed his chair back.
"Well, I should go to my next class. I'll see you at home later."
He waved to her after getting up from the chair. "It was nice meeting you, (Y/n)!"
She waved back, as it was the polite thing to do. Her panic mode was restored now that his friend was gone. Jaemin looked at her with a concerned expression.
"Are you feeling alright? You've barely touched your food."
She glanced down at her lunch tray. The steaming bowl of noodles was staring up at her. Eating had disappeared from her brain momentarily after Jaemin arrived.
"I'm fine. Just not as hungry as I thought I was," she muttered, placing her utensils down on the table.
That didn't seem to convince Jaemin, but he didn't say anything about it. He folded his arms and leaned forward. "Right, what were we talking about before?"
Dang it. She was hoping he had forgotten their previous conversation, though the chances were unlikely.
"I understand why you might be skeptical about me," his voice deepened. She wondered if he always did that when he wanted to be serious. "But I'm going to do what it takes to prove you otherwise, (Y/n). Just watch!"
No one had approached her the way Jaemin was. It didn't make her any less suspicious of him. Whatever he was going to do or planning to do, she couldn't let him get to her. Over the past two years, she had become more strong-minded. She wasn't going to let anyone easily in again. Following that, Jaemin could try to get through to her. But he would fail.
Because she wasn't going to let it happen.
┈◦•◦♡•◦┈◦•◦♡•◦┈◦•◦♡•◦┈◦•◦♡•◦
Jeno and he had been gaming late into the evening. Close to eight, Jaemin decided to take a stroll to the cafe where (Y/n) worked, thinking of grabbing some coffee. The quiet streets under the night sky provided a calm atmosphere.
Upon arriving at the cafe, he spotted her through the window, wearing her cafe uniform. A small smile formed on his lips, but it quickly faded as he heard a commotion inside. The sound of an escalating argument caught his attention.
Inside, a man stood at the counter where (Y/n) was working. There was a tense exchange, and the man seemed insistent on something. Jeno's protective instincts kicked in as he noticed (Y/n) trying to reject his advances.
"I told you, I'm not interested," she said firmly, attempting to maintain her composure.
"Come on, why not give me a chance?" the man persisted, a hint of aggression in his tone.
She bit her lip in frustration, but tried to maintain her professionalism. "I appreciate the offer, but I'm not looking for anything right now."
The man's demeanor turned hostile, and he reached out to grab her hand. Jaemin, sensing trouble, swiftly stepped in.
"She said she's not interested. Respect that," he stated firmly, casting a disapproving glance at the persistent man.
Startled, the man recoiled, shooting a defiant look at Jaemin. Ignoring the confrontation, Jaemin focused on (Y/n), offering her a reassuring smile. Bewilderment clouded her expression.
"Yah, who do you think you are to involve yourself?" The man scoffed.
"I don’t want any trouble," he said in a low tone. "But you should back off, if she said no already."
The guy scowled, and before he could react properly, he punched him. "I swear, kids these days think they're all that."
Lifting his hand to where he hit him, he was grabbed by the collar of his hoodie. As much as he loathed the guy, he didn't want to fight back because he was older. Thankfully, (Y/n) had come in between them before he could hit him again.
"Stop or I'll call the police!" She warned, holding up a phone in her hand. "You'll be charged for harassment and assault."
In response, he snarled but let go of him. At least he wasn't an idiot to see she was serious.
He pointed at her and him as he made his way to leave. "Consider both of you lucky today."
They both watched as he left grumbling. He was expecting to hear a sigh of relief. But instead, she didn't appear to look any less frightened.
"Oh no, you're bleeding." Her eyes widened with apprehension. She reached her hand but dropped it after a brief hesitation. She headed back behind the cash register.
"Wait outside. Let me find the first-aid kit."
Jaemin couldn’t suppress the smile that crept on his face. But he thought it was best to listen this time.
The anxiousness in her eyes didn't disappear as she sat in the chair across from him. She still somehow managed to keep her hand steady as she tended to where he was injured. Other than his mother, no girl had ever looked so concerned for him. He tried to maintain some seriousness, rather than thinking about how cute (Y/n) was.
Once she cleaned the blood off, she raised a cotton swab dipped in ointment to his lips. He hesitated, not because he didn't trust her. He guessed he was a little nervous for some reason. But before she could take her hand away, he leaned forward. She winced with him as she dabbed the medicine on his bottom lip.
"I'm sorry,” she apologized.
"It doesn't hurt that much," he said.
But she shook her head. "Not just that. You got hurt because of me."
"Anyone would've done the same if they were in my place."
"I'm not so sure about that," she disagreed, putting the cotton swab down. "But, thank you."
This was a different side of (Y/n) that he was seeing. But it wasn't anything that he hadn't expected. Even though she pretended not to, she secretly cared.
"Does this mean you’ll go on a date with me now?" he half-joked, pointing to his busted lip. "To pay me back for this?"
“What—No!” He had to admit, seeing the change in her expression was quite amusing.
She pointed toward the free coffee she made him. “Is this not enough?”
He sighed and tilted his head slightly. “Can we be friends at least?”
She didn't say anything but looked like she wasn't going to fight him on this.
“I'll take your silence as a yes.” His phone then buzzed in his pocket.
Oh, shi— he forgot about Jeno. "Ugh, I have to go back home." He stood up, grabbing the cup of coffee she made him.
But he didn't forget to wave at his friend. "See you tomorrow, (Y/n)!"
Smiling to himself, he pretended not to see the startled expression when he called her informally. She then smiled and shook her head again.
One point scored for Na Jaemin!
┈◦•◦♡•◦┈◦•◦♡•◦┈◦•◦♡•◦┈◦•◦♡•◦
That evening back in her dorm, (Y/n)’s head dropped to the desk in frustration. She couldn’t stop thinking about what happened the other night.
She didn’t want Jaemin to see her as easy now. Then again, he did save her from that customer. She wanted to say he shouldn’t have stepped in. But truthfully, she didn’t know how worse the situation would have gotten if he didn’t come in when he did. She had been so afraid of the situation that her whole body was shaking when she threatened to call the police. But she wished she had acted faster before he got hit.
She hadn’t realized how serious Jaemin was about them now being “friends” until the next time she saw him. He’d wave to her when he saw her come into class and continued to eat lunch with her if she was in the cafeteria. He didn’t stop coming to the coffee shop, and started doing his homework there.
In the beginning, she was quite reluctant. Her social awkwardness had gotten worse, and she wasn’t sure how long he would last being around someone like her. What she didn’t expect was Jaemin not being great at keeping conversations either. While he did start most of them, it seemed that sometimes he’d lose his thoughts and pause. That was when the silence filled in the gap he left.
But he kept persisting, and she had a feeling Jaemin wouldn’t get off her case anytime soon. Her heart was screaming at her, because it was clear that he was putting more effort into their “friendship” than she was. On the other hand, she barely said anything.
Due to her guilty conscience, she eventually stopped using one-word answers when he asked her something. On occasion, she would ask a question back. Slowly, she started to relax when she was around him. But those casual conversations were all Jaemin would get from her. There was an invisible line she had drawn between them, that she had to make sure he wouldn’t cross.
She started to like the days when he came to the café the most. He’d come in and instantly look for her behind the counter. She didn’t understand how someone could consistently be enthusiastic when they came to the same place nearly every day.
He ordered the same thing every time. So much so that it was practically ingrained in her memory. It was always a venti iced-americano, with no water but only ice. In addition, she’d add four extra shots of espresso. She refrained from questioning his order. But she wasn’t sure how anyone could drink so much coffee. However, that did explain how he had so much energy all the time.
Jaemin would come in the morning to purchase his daily drink. Strangely enough, he’d sometimes come back in the evenings when things were slow. He said it was because he thought she might be lonely. Oftentimes, he’d wait for her shift to be over and walk her home. She had resisted at first, but Jaemin had good persuasion skills.
On one of their walks, Jaemin casually asked a question that nearly made her freeze in place.
“Have you ever dated anyone?” His tone was casual. But she could tell he wasn’t trying to flirt with her.
“No,” she replied. In hopes of subtly changing the subject of this conversation, she turned the question to him. “Have you?”
He hesitated briefly before nodding, “Once, a few years ago.”
For some reason, she had expected him to have been in many relationships. With a face like his, she wouldn’t be surprised. She guessed she had judged him too harshly.
“Do you mind me asking what happened?”
She wasn’t sure what brought her to ask. She felt like a similar memory was replaying in the back of her head.
“I was in high school, and I had a crush on this girl in my class,” He started to explain. “It was easy at first. One day I confessed to her and we started dating.”
Jaemin made it all sound so easy. But when the frown on his face didn’t leave, she suspected things were more complicated. She didn’t say anything and let him continue.
“I remember trying really hard to make her happy. She always wanted me to buy her stuff and hung out with a lot of guys. Eventually, I started to feel like she was just using me. So I broke up with her.”
A short silence followed his last sentence. Even though she was afraid the conversation would go in the same direction it did with…
She still asked, “How do you feel now? Do you still think about her?”
“Honestly, I haven’t thought about her once until you asked.”
“Why?” Her eyebrows raised.
He chuckled, “Because I have no regrets. No one should feel insecure in a relationship. That’s why I chose to end things.”
She didn’t expect him to say that. A part of her didn’t want to believe him. But he didn’t appear to be lying. She wasn’t fazed when he told her all this. However, on that day, she felt slightly more daring. She thought it was only fair that she shared a little bit.
“There was a boy I had feelings for back in high school. He was my first love, I guess,” she said, the words escaping slowly. “I really liked him. But it…didn’t work out.”
She didn’t want to get into the details of her pathetic story. Even though two years passed, she could recall his exact words and how he delivered them. They still stung. Just thinking about it again nearly caused her to forget Jaemin was next to her.
“First loves are usually like that,” he expressed sympathy. “I’m sorry that happened.”
You forced a smile, swiftling pushing aside the resurfaced emotions. “It’s not a big deal. I…I’m sorry too—about your past girlfriend.”
“It happened so long ago, and I was just a dumb teenager,” Jaemin admitted, lowering his head.
A few seconds of silence passed between them. In an attempt to dispel the awkward atmosphere, she gently nudged him. “I guess we both have bad luck with love, huh?”
She wished his next works didn’t make her heart flutter.
“I have a feeling that our luck is changing. For both of us.”
┈◦•◦♡•◦┈◦•◦♡•◦┈◦•◦♡•◦┈◦•◦♡•◦
It was difficult for Jaemin to suppress a small sense of satisfaction as she waved to him before entering her apartment building. Following today's events, it felt like (Y/n) had taken a step closer to him—some might argue it was barely a foot. But for Jaemin, that was more than enough.
Upon returning to his home, the lights were on in the empty living room, indicating that Jeno had left them on for him. After slipping off his shoes, Jaemin sought out his roommate in the bedroom, where he found him engrossed in playing a video game on his computer.
Besides Jeno, Jaemin didn't have many friends, but he knew Jeno was someone who would always have his back. It was Jeno who had suggested they move into an apartment before college, considering they haven’t been apart since middle school. Jaemin never worried about their friendship drifting apart. But his assurance grew when they discovered they got accepted into the same college.
“Hey, you’re back?” Jeno took off his headphones as Jaemin entered.
Nodding, Jaemin flopped onto his friend’s bed. A foolish grin spread across his face as he rested his head on the pillow.
“You seem happy,” Jeno remarked, throwing his head back. “Did you meet with (Y/n) again?”
Simply the mention of her name alone brightened Jaemin's mood. "Jeno, do you know what it feels like to be in love?"
"In love? I thought you just liked her," Jeno leaned forward, raising his water bottle to his lips. Jaemin pressed his hand to his chest and sighed.
"I do. But there's this different level of liking when it comes to her. My heart can't stop beating!"
Jeno nearly choked on his water. "Don't tell me you've said all of that to her."
"Of course not," Jaemin said, defensively. "Do you think I'm that much of an idiot?"
"Just wanted to make sure," Jeno shrugged.
Feeling energized, Jaemin pulled out his phone to text her. However, he was pleasantly surprised to find an unread message from her. Kicking his feet up in the air, he beamed and showed Jeno what she sent.
"You see this, Jeno? She finally texted me first!"
"I guess that's some improvement." Jeno's reaction was lackluster, but Jaemin pretended to ignore it.
Placing a hand on his chest, Jaemin sighed, "Oh (Y/n), why are you doing this to me?"
Jeno shook his head and turned his chair back around to the computer. "Yeah. You're in love with her, that's for sure."
════════
Coming out of his photography class the next day, Jaemin spotted (Y/n) near one of the windows in the hall. Realizing she was on the phone, he decided to wait until she was done.
"I know. You don't need to worry, Halmeoni," she spoke lightly. "I'll pick up her medication after class."
That was the end of the conversation he overheard before she dropped her hand holding the phone, squeezing it tightly. While he knew her personal matters were none of his business, he couldn't help but worry about her. From the brief glimpse he had, she seemed unhappy.
After waiting for about five minutes, he approached her. "(Y/n), I almost didn't see you there!"
She turned to him, the frustration replaced by a small smile. Whether she was genuinely pleased to see him or merely pretending to be fine was uncertain.
"Oh, hi Jaemin. Did you just come out of class?" she asked.
He nodded. "What about you?"
She glanced back at her phone to check the time. "My morning class is over, but I have one more in an hour."
"Ah, I see. Do you want to get lunch with me then?" he proposed, gesturing towards the cafeteria.
"It's okay. I'm not that hungry," she mumbled, absently adjusting the strap on her bag.
Crossing his arms, he leaned down to meet her at eye level. "You're lying. I know you don't eat breakfast, so you have to be hungry!"
"Jaemin—" she blushed and couldn't finish her sentence.
"It'll be my treat since you helped me with my photography assignment last week," he added before she could fully deny him.
This time, he didn't wait for her answer and took her hand to lead them out of the hallway. "Jaemin, people are going to see us and start assuming things!" she stammered.
Rolling his eyes, he continued to walk with her. "If you're worried, we can go out then."
She didn't make any more attempts to stop him. When he looked at her, his heart softened. He wanted to ask if she was okay, but for now, he focused on taking care of her physical health. From the few months they'd known each other, he quickly learned that (Y/n) was someone who neglected herself. Though he might have lectured her once when she said she didn't want to be a burden, he could tell she appreciated his efforts and stopped fighting back.
Jaemin’s goal shifted. He realized that making Kim (Y/n) happy was more of a priority than pursuing her.

Her phone was flung recklessly onto the bed at the peak of her outrage. The barrage of text messages from her mom made her feel as though someone was drilling a screw in her head. With shaking fists, she glanced over to her desk, where the top drawer held a razor blade in one of the journals. The urge was tempting, yet she resisted, not wanting to give herself another reason to hate on this particular day.
Exhaling, she sat at the edge of the bed, letting her hands grip the frame. Thoughts of whether moving back to Seoul had been a mistake haunted her. But Busan hadn't been any better for her either. Why did she keep contradicting herself like this?
After a few minutes of drowning in her bothersome thoughts, her phone buzzed again. She groaned and reached to grab the device, sitting up straighter when she recognized the caller ID wasn’t her mother.
“Hello?” she answered the phone. Strangely, hearing his voice allowed some of her torment to disappear.
“Did you get home safely?”
She nodded, momentarily forgetting that they were on a voice call. “I did. You?”
“Yeah, Jeno and I went back together.”
“Oh, I see. Is that all you called me for?”
“Why? Am I not allowed to make sure my friend is safe and sound at her dorm?”
“If that’s all, I’m going to hang up now. I have to finish my homework,” she laughed.
Jaeemin sighed, “Alright. Make sure to get some rest before it’s too late.”
“I will. Thank you.”
“Dream of me when you sleep!” He sang.
She blushed and quickly tapped the “end call” button. With a bit of effort, she forced herself to go to her desk and open her laptop. She wasn't lying earlier, there was a research project she had to work on.
How could he say those things so casually? It was almost as if they were dating—No, she had to stop thinking like that. She had come to learn that Jaemin just had a flirty personality. But it was hard for her to fathom how someone could be like that so effortlessly. Certainly, she didn’t possess the boldness or courage he did.
Other than that, she was surprised to discover how much Jaemin and she had in common. She thought the only reason he acted energetically when they were out was because of all the coffee he drank. But, other than that, he was a pretty mellow guy.
Regardless, Jaemin was charismatic and kind to everyone. Yet, she felt like he put up his lively facade for the public. When it was just the two of them, Jaemin was a lot calmer. Sometimes they'd walk to one of their homes in silence, the only sound being music played from their earbuds.
Unintentionally, Na Jaemin had become the person to distract her from reality. It felt like Renjun all over again. That was why she had to consistently remind herself not to get too close to the boy. She couldn’t let things get that far.

On a Sunday after work, she returned to the apartment. Whenever she was at home, her mom mostly stayed in her bedroom, often on her computer or in bed. Before she moved back to the city, her mom ate a lot of delivery food. She tried cooking meals for her, but they always remained untouched in the refrigerator.
Regardless, she tried not to give up. After putting away her things, she walked down the hall and cautiously opened the door to her mom’s room. None of the lights were on.
“Eomma, I brought you some seolleongtang from the restaurant you like,” (Y/n) said hesitantly. Most of the blankets covered her body, but she could make out her messy black hair.
When she didn’t respond, she sighed and took a step closer to the door. She didn’t intend to stay long anyway. “I left the soup on your kitchen counter for you. You should eat before it gets cold.”
“Stop pretending to care,” her mom mumbled into her pillow. “You don’t love me.”
That sentence tugged at her heart. Would she be doing all this if she didn’t love her?
Her fingernails started to dig into the skin of her palms. “Eomma, you know that’s not true.”
“You can’t even say it!” her mom cried out. “You’ve always been so cold to me. You must want your mother to die.”
Clenching her fists, she retorted without thinking. “Of course I still love you!”
Instantly, her eyes enlarged at the sudden volume increase in her voice. She almost never raised her voice at anyone, especially her parents. But her mom had pushed too many buttons that day. She took a step back before she could make anything worse.
“I never stopped,” she glowered at her mom, who refused to look at her.
In the next second, she turned to leave again. Her feet didn’t stop because she knew her mom wouldn’t go after her. It had started to rain by the time she got outside. Yet she still walked around getting drenched like a crazy person. The tears streaming down her face mixed with the rain drops.
A heavy sigh escaped her. At least the clouds didn’t have to hide their misery.

By the time Jaemin arrived at the classroom, the lecture was just about to start. Slightly disappointed, he made his way to sit in the row of desks behind (Y/n). His lips formed a pout because now he had to wait until after class to talk to her.
He never paid much attention to what the teacher was saying when (Y/n) was there. Occasionally, he’d get scolded by her for doing so. Yet she’d still offer to share her notes with him. When she did this the first time, Jaemin realized (Y/n) only acted cold so people wouldn’t approach her. She might be able to fool everyone else, but Jaemin knew she was a warm-hearted person.
During these times, (Y/n) usually pretended not to notice his eyes that naturally drifted her way throughout the class. But something seemed different about her today. The left hand she used to write was most often seen quickly scribbling down key points from the lesson. Her wrist was barely moving, and her head was kept down.
Once class ended, Jaemin tapped the girl on her shoulder. Jolting up, she turned around to face him.
“Oh, is class over already?”
He stared at her with wide eyes. “Uh, you look really pale.”
“What?” she asked, a little nasally.
His level of worry quickly increased when he reached over to feel her forehead. “You have a fever too. Why did you come if you’re sick?”
She weakly pushed his hand away and slurred her words, saying something about not wanting to miss class.
He exhaled and grabbed her hand. “Okay. We need to get you out of here.”
Surprisingly, she didn’t put up much of an argument. I guess she didn’t have any energy to do so. She could barely keep her head up when they got on the bus. Wanting her to be more comfortable, Jaemin guided her head to rest on his shoulder.
Honestly, he had never seen (Y/n) so out of it. He wondered what she did to get so sick like this. Glancing back down at her sleeping figure, he felt a bunch of different emotions.
“What are you doing to me, Kim (Y/n)?” he whispered, knowing she couldn’t hear him.
════════
Slowly, (Y/n) turned her head and let her eyelids flutter open on their own. Her reaction was late, but she was slightly alarmed when she found herself in an unfamiliar place. Her hands pressed down into a dark blue bedspread.
She glanced around, finding herself in a room with a large desk near the door that had a white computer. Where was she?
She blinked a few times, trying to recall what happened and how she got here. Just as she vaguely remembered Jaemin taking her out of class, the door creaked open. She sat up and instantly regretted it. The headache she had from this morning was still present.
“Oh, hi (Y/n).” Jeno came into the room. “Are you feeling any better?”
“Jeno? Why am I…”
The boy allowed himself to fully come into the room. “Jaemin brought you here after your class. You were out for about an hour.”
“Oh gosh. I didn’t mean to intrude like this.” This is what she got for walking home in the rain. Where was her sense?
Jeno waved his hand, brushing off her words. “Not at all. Jaemin was worried when he noticed you had a fever.”
“He was? Where is he?”
“He’s been in the kitchen. Should be coming back soon though.”
Just as he said that, her eyes darted to the door that reopened.
“Oh, you’re awake!” The boy with light brown hair exclaimed.
He was carrying a small wooden tray in his hands. With a tight-lipped smile, Jeno put a hand on his shoulder before passing him. Jaemin didn’t say anything, only giving an odd look to his friend who left the room.
However, the slightly confused expression instantly changed to a brighter one when he turned to her. Carefully, he walked over with the tray and sat beside her feet.
“Samgyetang,” He said, picking up the spoon next to the steaming blue bowl. “Eating will make you feel better.”
“Did you make it?” She asked, leaning forward to see the bowl.
He nodded and filled the spoon with some of the broth. “I’m going to feed you because I know you won’t eat it yourself.”
How did he know she’d do that? Either way, she didn’t have any energy to protest. Hesitantly, she accepted the spoonful of food. She was surprised, to say the least.
“I didn’t know you could cook.”
“Is it good?” He asked.
She nodded in response. Jaemin lowered his head as he dipped the spoon in the bowl again. “My mom taught me.”
“Oh,” She said, “I can feed myself, Jaemin.”
After some hesitation, he relented and handed her the spoon. “I’m going to stay and make sure you finish at least half of that soup.”
“Yes, mom,” She conceded. Jaemin chuckled as she bit into a piece of chicken.
“Thank you for going out of your way to—do all this,” She said later. He put the bowl and tray aside on his desk.
“How is your headache?”
“Not as bad. Are you going to scold me again?”
“No. But do you mind me asking how you got sick?” A familiar sense of fear came her way.
“I just got caught in the rain walking home the other day.”
Okay, she wasn’t completely lying. But she wasn’t telling the full truth either. Thankfully, Jaemin seemed to believe her.
“I see. You should get some more rest,” he said.
She gave him a quizzical look. “You’re not going to let me leave, are you?”
“That’s right!”
“But this is your bed,” She frowned.
The boy shrugged, “I can just crash in Jeno’s room.”
He motioned for her to lay back down. Reluctantly, she listened to him. Not that she’d admit out loud that she wanted to. The pain eased slightly when her head hit the pillow.
“Better?”
“Better.”
He didn’t say anything more after that. They sort of just remained in their positions silently. She pretended to not notice Jaemin staring at her. Or how his fingertips were tracing lightly over her bangs that were damp with sweat.
She tried to ignore the fluttery emotions that swirled around her heart. In the past when she got sick, she just dealt with it alone. She didn’t want to be more of a burden to the people around her.
This was certainly different from the time when Renjun got sick and couldn’t come to school. Back then, the roles were reversed, and she was doing the things Jaemin had done for her.
Her head was hurting, but she still had most of her sanity. Unlike the last time, she would make sure her memories didn’t repeat. She should’ve been more ashamed that she let this happen in the first place.
But with Jaemin, it felt nice, him taking care of her. Yet another side of him that she hadn’t expected.
Her perspective on Jaemin kept shifting. And she wasn’t sure what she thought about it.
┈◦•◦♡•◦┈◦•◦♡•◦┈◦•◦♡•◦┈◦•◦♡•◦
As summer came to an end, fall gradually took its place. Which meant that the college autumn festival was approaching. Numerous clubs and activities had been diligently preparing for the event over the past few weeks. While most of Jaemin's classmates expected him to attend, he felt a bit reluctant due to the unnecessary attention and the prospect of encountering girls eager to approach him.
Yet, the idea of going to the festival became much more appealing if (Y/n) was also planning to attend. Day by day, Jaemin found himself falling a bit more for her. A few months back, he had taken care of her when she had a headache, a simple act of kindness that he would have extended to any friend.
A couple of days later, when he went to get his daily coffee, (Y/n) surprised him with free macarons, expressing her gratitude for his care. It was a small but meaningful gesture, signaling that (Y/n) was gradually warming up to him.
On the day of the festival, Jaemin decided to meet (Y/n) after their last classes and suggested going together. Spotting her waiting near the main entrance, he waved, and she smiled shyly in response. Energized by the sight of her, he skipped over.
“(Y/n)—” he began before being interrupted by a girl approaching them. Glancing at the newcomer, Jaemin recognized her as a classmate from his photography class.
“Jaemin? I’m in your photography class.”
“Ah, hello,” he politely bowed his head. “Is there something you need?”
The girl beamed at him, twirling a lock of her hair. “I just wanted to see if you’re going to the college festival tonight. Would you like to go with me?”
“I’m sorry I—” Jaemin started to decline, but his eyes shifted to (Y/n) standing awkwardly beside him.
He then put an arm around her shoulder. “I’m going with her,” he clarified, pretending to not notice how (Y/n)’s eyes widened in surprise.
The girl's expression faltered, embarrassed by the rejection, but she managed to put on a smile. “Oh…I see. Well, please come find me if you want better company!”
As the girl left, Jaemin kicked the ground in frustration. “Did she not see that you were right next to me?” he quipped, tilting his head to the left.
(Y/n) looked puzzled. “Why did you turn her down? She was pretty.”
“You’re prettier,” Jaemin replied without hesitation. He smirked when he saw her cheeks turn pink.
Tucking his hands into the pockets of his jeans, he suggested, “Let’s go to the festival.”
(Y/n) hesitated before sighing. “I guess we have to now, since you told that girl we were.”
“Yeah. But I was going to ask you anyway,” he shrugged. “Come on, let’s go.”
She opened her mouth to say something and closed it. Jaemin chuckled at her silent agreement. They conversed on the way to the festival, and upon arrival, marveled at the transformed campus with lanterns, various booths, music, and enticing smells of food and alcohol.
“What do you want to do first?” Jaemin nudged (Y/n).
They spent most of their time walking around, pointing out interesting things, and occasionally participating in mini-games. Seated at a table under one of the food tents, they ate some tteokbokki. Despite disliking alcohol, they decided to share a bottle.
Later in the night, they found a spot on the grass to watch a fireworks show. Jaemin asked (Y/n) if she had done something like this before.
She lightly brushed her hand over the green blades. “There was one time when my parents took me to see fireworks on New Year's Eve. I must’ve been eight or nine.”
The dark sky allowed Jaemin to see a smile on her lips, yet a hint of sadness lingered in her eyes. Before he could inquire further, the show began, capturing their attention. The bursts of bright colors were mesmerizing up close.
Expressing a bit of regret, Jaemin remarked, “I wish I had brought my camera.”
(Y/n) looked over at him and smiled. Anticipating his wish, she unzipped her bag, revealing a small, light blue polaroid camera.
“I figured you were going to ask me to come here with you,” she explained, handing him the camera.
Grinning, Jaemin said, “Yeokshi, Kim (Y/n).”
Pointing out the best fireworks, (Y/n) and Jaemin managed to capture a few with the camera. Towards the end, Jaemin suggested taking some pictures together, and to his surprise, (Y/n) agreed to one photo. Excitedly, he flipped the camera around to snap a photo of them.
“Smile!”
Posing together, they managed to fit in the small frame, but Jaemin couldn't help but notice how close they had gotten. Subconsciously, his eyes flickered to her lips, and feeling daring, he leaned a bit more forward to see her reaction.
She was blushing profusely now. His eyes searched hers, silently contemplating if he should just make a move. He pondered on what to say, or if words were even necessary at the moment. Jaemin’s heart was thumping rapidly against his chest. He couldn’t help but wonder if (Y/n)’s was the same.
Being in such close proximity allowed her to appreciate his handsome features. The mixture of his breath with hers stirred butterflies in her stomach, spiraling in circles. Suddenly, they dispersed, and the nonsensical thoughts in her mind ceased immediately.
Fully aware of the situation, she pulled back, her face and entire body ablaze. "It’s late. I should go," she lied, too embarrassed to meet his gaze.
Avoiding eye contact, she hastily rose to her feet and speed-walked out of the festival, pretending not to hear him call after her. (Y/n) cursed to herself, "What have I gotten myself into?"
════════
(Y/n) could barely concentrate in math class the next morning. The lack of sleep didn’t help. The events of the previous night replayed incessantly in her mind, driving her to the brink of insanity. Na Jaemin had come close to kissing her, and she almost wished he had. The setting had been perfect with fireworks, a romantic atmosphere, and their proximity. Yet, she had ruined the moment out of fear.
Last night confirmed that she developed feelings for him. The last thing she wanted. She knew from the beginning that being friends with Jaemin was dangerous. Yet, she still allowed herself to be drawn in.
Only when the others started leaving the classroom did she realize that the class was over. As she packed her things, a girl approached her – the one with long black hair, flawless makeup, and impeccable clothes from Jaemin’s photography class. She was the one who had asked him out and got turned down.
“You’re the girl who was with Na Jaemin yesterday, right?” she asked.
Taking a moment, (Y/n) replied, "Maybe."
Despite the smile she held, (Y/n) could tell the girl didn’t like her. Her lips twitched in slight annoyance as she continued the conversation.
"We’re not together, if that’s what you wanted to ask next," (Y/n) asserted, swinging her bag over her shoulder, ready to leave.
The girl's expression changed, and she casually remarked, "Ah, that’s good to know. I was beginning to question Na Jaemin’s taste in girls."
"Excuse me?" (Y/n) stopped and turned back towards her.
The girl spoke nonchalantly, "No matter how I look at it, I don’t think Jaemin would date someone like you. He’s smart, funny, and handsome. He comes from a nice family too. The girl he dates should live up to certain standards, right?"
(Y/n)’s hand tightened around the strap of her bag, and the girl took a step closer, scanning her from head to toe.
"You know, someone who is pretty, rich, and confident. I’d say it would be a loss for him to date a girl anything other than that."
Forced to smile, (Y/n) made a poor attempt to conceal the impact of those words. Mumbling, she said, "I know," and walked away, steering clear of a larger confrontation.
A mix of humiliation and annoyance consumed her. The girl's intentions were clear – to play with her head. Yet, she couldn't deny that the words had struck a nerve. Everything she lacked seemed to be a reason why Jaemin and she couldn't happen. Her feelings were rendered insignificant, knowing he was seemingly out of her league.
Her thoughts then veered back to Renjun. Despite the time that had passed, a part of her wasn’t entirely over him. The lessons from high school echoed in her mind – never allowing herself to get close to anyone again.
In the end, the problem always seemed to be her.
┈◦•◦♡•◦┈◦•◦♡•◦┈◦•◦♡•◦┈◦•◦♡•◦
Seated in the back row of the classroom, he slumped in his chair, grappling with the silence from (Y/n) since the other night. The texts he had sent her remained unread, flooding his mind with various thoughts.
Questions plagued him – was she angry? Did she resent him? Had he acted too hastily?
Admitting to himself that he might have been too impulsive, he chastised his own foolishness. Despite that realization, he couldn't help it at that moment; his feelings for her were overpowering. The looming possibility that she never wanted to see him again felt unbearable.
Though Jeno didn't voice his concerns, it was evident that he was worried about him. Over the past few days, anxiety had taken a toll on him, leading to skipped meals and isolation. He found himself criticizing (Y/n) for her eating habits, realizing the hypocritical nature of his actions. In some ways, she reminded him of himself – a music lover who didn't express it openly, an introvert with an outgoing facade, and someone who concealed insecurities adeptly.
Those similarities weren’t the only reason he liked her though. His affection for (Y/n) stemmed from her qualities as a listener. She patiently listened to his rants about proper skin care with attentive nods. She willingly assisted him with homework, displaying patience even when explanations needed repetition.
In a conversation with Jeno some time ago, he elaborated on the reasons for his deep admiration for (Y/n).
"You've really fallen for her, haven't you?" Jeno sighed in response to his lovesick monologue.
"And the way her eyes light up when she's excited," he continued, sounding like an enamored puppy. "Her laugh is just the cutest!"
Despite the selfish part of him, Jaemin knew he couldn’t impose his feelings on (Y/n). From how things were right now, the chances of her reciprocating his feelings was unlikely.
To be honest, Jaemin wasn’t sure if he was ready to accept that outcome.
┈◦•◦♡•◦┈◦•◦♡•◦┈◦•◦♡•◦┈◦•◦♡•◦
Having successfully avoided Jaemin for the past few days, (Y/n) found herself unable to escape this time. Her mind remained in disarray, and while uncertain about what to think, she knew facing him was inevitable.
"(Y/n), can we please talk?" Jaemin's voice reached her ears, prompting her to grimace before slowly turning around.
"What’s there to talk about?" she mumbled, reluctantly meeting his gaze.
Jaemin's eyes searched hers, seeking something. "Are we just going to act like nothing happened or—"
"It was a mistake," she cut him off, witnessing a hurt expression etch onto Jaemin's face.
"(Y/n)—" Jaemin began again, but she raised her hand to stop him.
"I know what you're going to say. But we can’t be together." She spoke in her sternest voice. "So please, forget what happened."
She concealed the trembling within her, although he took a step closer. Their sneakers nearly touched, and, for once, Jaemin wasn’t wearing the carefree smile she had grown accustomed to. Had she finally pushed him away for good?
Perhaps it was for the best. Jaemin didn't deserve to be with her who was a complete mess. She dared to look at him once more, observing the hurt in his eyes. She was the one who was causing him pain. She wondered if he would say he hated her and never wanted to see her again. But she should have known he wouldn't.
"(Y/n).” The calm tone he was using strangely made her feel worse. "Will you ever open your heart to me?"
His words carried significant weight, seeking some form of answer. However, she just stared at him, speechless.
He sighed and began to back away. "I’m sorry. But I don't think we can stay friends like this."
"Wait—Jaemin!" she called out as he disappeared from behind the bushes. "Na Jaemin!"
He was gone, and tears started to form in her eyes. A new feeling of guilt began to crawl up her throat. This pain was different from her first heartbreak, but it felt just as overwhelming.
Was this what it felt like to hurt someone?
════════
The cafe felt empty without him. A few customers made their daily orders, but it wasn't the same. Jaemin walking through the front door always brightened her day, giving her something to look forward to. Being at work now felt depressing and meaningless.
The hours passed, and there was still no Jaemin. (Y/n) tried to focus on her tasks and not dwell on what happened, but no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't.
By the time she finished wiping down all the tables, she was ready to officially close up the shop. Her plan was put on pause when she heard someone come in.
"I'm sorry, we're closed," she said plainly, turning around. Her eyes widened when she recognized the unexpected customer. "Jeno?"
The puppy-like boy smiled at her. "I was hoping you'd still be here."
He waited for her to finish closing up the shop, and they went to the park after. Walking along the sidewalk, following the stone circle path, (Y/n) knew Jeno wanted to talk to her about Jaemin. She thought he would be mad since they're best friends and all. If he held any resentment, he didn’t show it.
"I know it isn't really my place to say anything," Jeno finally broke the awkward silence between them. "But I've been worried about Jaemin, and you too."
Why would he be worried about her? She was the one who hurt his friend.
"I'm sorry. It's my fault," she apologized, and Jeno paused briefly before talking again.
"I don't know what happened between you two. But I think there's something you should know." They both stopped walking, and Jeno turned to face her properly.
"Jaemin sincerely cares about you, (Y/n). You can trust me when I say that he's never been so serious about someone."
His sentence was simple but struck her heart when she felt the weight of it. Jeno continued as the emotions started to kick in.
"I won’t tell you what to feel or to give him a chance. I believe all he wants is for you to be happy."
He glanced over at her, and his eyes quickly showed concern. She didn't even know she was crying until the first few tears dripped off her chin. Her lip quivered as more water spilled out of her eyes.
What Jeno said and everything else came crashing down on her like a huge ocean wave. She had forced herself to be blind to her true feelings. She liked Na Jaemin, so much more than a friend. But she had gotten so caught up in the fear of something like Renjun repeating that she didn't stop to think about his feelings. She was inconsiderate of him, who was always so sweet.
"What have I done?" she mumbled.
Jeno placed a hand on her shoulder. "It's okay, (Y/n). Why don't you come back with me to talk to him?"
She wasn't sure if she had the right to see Jaemin after all this. It was already embarrassing enough to be crying in front of Jeno. But if she learned anything from this, she had to pull herself together and push aside her fears. For Jaemin.
After a few sniffles, she smiled weakly at Jeno. "I think I'd like that."
She knew what she had to do now.
┈◦•◦♡•◦┈◦•◦♡•◦┈◦•◦♡•◦┈◦•◦♡•◦
Regret quickly consumed Jaemin after he left that day. His intention was to make things better with (Y/n), and confront things. But for some reason, he just couldn’t stomach her rejection. Now she might not ever talk to him again.
Sitting in the living room, contemplating all that had gone wrong, Jaemin's thoughts were interrupted by the sound of button presses from the passcode on their lock. Jeno was out later than expected. Jaemin exhaled and leaned back on the couch, awaiting his friend's arrival.
What he didn’t expect was to see (Y/n) come in after Jeno. She appeared extremely nervous, and the rims of her eyes were slightly red. Had she been crying? Jaemin questioned why Jeno brought her here, giving his friend a questionable look.
Jeno simply smiled before heading to their room. “I’ll leave you guys alone.”
(Y/n) and Jaemin exchanged awkward glances. She tightened the grip on the strap of her bag.
“Jaemin, can we talk?” she asked, speaking quietly, almost as if afraid he'd get mad at her. Jaemin stood up from the couch, smiling slightly, and suggested they go out to the balcony.
The weather was pleasant that day, with the dark evening sky and light autumn breeze. Both unsure of how to start, (Y/n) and Jaemin admired the city view for a bit. Not wanting her to feel pressured, Jaemin decided to speak first.
“(Y/n), I’m sorry,” he sighed. “The other day, I shouldn't have been so cold to you.”
Quick to shake her head, (Y/n) said, "No, I should be the one apologizing."
Jaemin furrowed his eyebrows, nodding to let her explain. "I never told you the full story about the last guy I liked," she began, resting her folded hands atop the steel railing. "At the time, I was in a… really dark place. And he was the first person who saw the real me."
"When I was around him, I didn't have to pretend I was okay all the time. He was the closest friend I ever had." Her eyes sparkled as she smiled sadly, a smile that quickly faded.
"But things changed after his girlfriend moved and transferred to our school. I overheard their conversation where he said that I never meant anything to him."
Listening quietly, Jaemin noted the fragility in her voice, as if she could break any second. Yet she didn't.
"After that day, I swore to myself that I’d never be vulnerable to a boy ever again. But I realized that was incredibly unfair to you,” she continued.
"You've shown me nothing but kindness and patience," she murmured. "When all I've done is push you away."
"(Y/n)—"
She let out a deep breath as she finally met his eyes. "The idea of opening my heart to someone terrifies me. But, I think I'm willing to try if it's you."
Her teeth sank into her bottom lip, waiting nervously for a response. Jaemin's outward reaction was slow, but not on the inside. Her words were like a key that unlocked everything he had kept in his heart.
“You have no idea how happy I am to hear you say that,” he said, gently taking her hands in his. “I promise that you’re safe with me, (Y/n).”
She smiled, “I trust you, Jaemin.”
The two have never been in this close proximity before. His breath on hers made her heart race. The two locked eyes for a moment, as Jaemin slowly leaned in. But right before their lips could meet, he paused. She regarded him with a hint of confusion, wondering why he was hesitating.
"Can I kiss you?" he then asked, knowing he didn't really have to but wanting her to be sure.
His question sparked a wave of heat instantly rushed to her cheeks. However, the corner of her lips curled into a small smile as she rose on the tip of her toes, closing the remaining distance between them. Jaemin was caught slightly off guard by her sudden actions. But the sensation of her soft lips against his was enough to make him melt. He knew right away that her touch was something he wanted more of.
Feeling as if his heart could burst at any moment, Jaemin brought his hands up to tenderly cup her face. Their kiss was slow at first, allowing them to take their time and savor the moment. His lips moved in sync with hers, and her fingers gripped the hem of his hoodie as he kissed her harder. Towards the end, he was sure she could feel him smiling into the kiss.
Eventually, they broke away, breathless, lips redder and moist from the sweet kiss they had just shared. Jaemin kept one hand on her cheek, gently caressing it with his thumb.
"(Y/n)," he said her name like a vow. "I’ve been wanting to do that for so long."
She smiled shyly before admitting, “Me too. I should’ve just let you kiss me at the festival.”
Jaemin's heart practically exploded for the umpteenth time when she fully wrapped her arms around his torso. The left side of her face rested on his chest, as she wasn't tall enough to reach his shoulder.
Of course, he gladly accepted the embrace, gently squeezing her. He didn't want to ever let go. She giggled when he pressed a kiss into her hair.
"I'm so in love with you, Kim (Y/n)."
There weren’t enough words to describe how amazing it felt to confess that out loud.
┈◦•◦♡•◦┈◦•◦♡•◦┈◦•◦♡•◦┈◦•◦♡•◦
Subconsciously, (Y/n)'s fingertips would brush over her lips after the previous night. The prior events were still fresh in her mind—her apology and confession, him kissing her. She contemplated whether everything had been a dream she hadn't woken up from.
However, (Y/n) was reassured when Jaemin greeted her with a hug the next morning. She was slightly wary of other people seeing them, but she brushed it off. Besides, she had recently learned that Jaemin gave the warmest hugs.
"Should we hold hands?" she laughed shyly when he asked. He seemed to be giddier about the change in their relationship than she was.
(Y/n) nodded to him and bravely intertwined her right hand with his left one. In return, a gloating Jaemin pressed a quick kiss against her knuckles before suggesting they head to class.
"This is day two of Na Jaemin and Kim (Y/n) as a couple," he lightly swung their arms as they walked on the school campus.
"You're already counting?" she smiled in slight amusement.
Jaemin nodded proudly. "I already marked when our 100th day will be."
"Really? I did too," she said bashfully.
Not many people knew this, but (Y/n) was secretly a romantic at heart. She used to fantasize over fun date ideas and anniversaries. So when Jaemin and she confirmed their feelings for each other, she marked their 100th day on her calendar when she got back to the dorm. She was afraid she was getting ahead of herself, so she didn't intend to tell him. But it was nice to know that Jaemin also thought about those things.
"See? I knew we were a perfect match," he tilted his head back.
The closer they got to the classroom, the more nervous (Y/n) began to feel. What would everyone say when they saw Jaemin and her come in together, holding hands?
"What's wrong?"
"You're not worried about other people seeing us?" she asked.
"They probably assumed we've been together for a while now," said Jaemin. "But either way, I don't care what they think."
Jaemin was certainly a lot braver than (Y/n) was. But she could feel his courage slowly starting to rub off on her. When he turned to look at her to hear her opinion, she gently squeezed his hand.
"Then I won't either,” she said confidently. He smiled and pressed a quick kiss to her cheek before they entered the lecture hall.
Jaemin wasn’t surprised by the whispers and looks people gave them when he and (Y/n) entered the room holding hands. (Y/n) insisted that she wouldn’t care about the other people at college who talked behind their backs, but there was still a twinge of guilt in him.
She had gained all this unwanted attention before when they were just friends. Now that they were officially dating, it gave people on campus another excuse to gawk at them. They could spread all the rumors they wanted to, but this was their life, and (Y/n)’s too. Jaemin wasn’t going to let them ruin their happiness.
Thankfully, class didn’t go as slowly as Jaemin expected. Every so often, he glanced over to (Y/n) beside him, thinking about what she said the other day, about her past. He now understood why she was so cold to him in the beginning. But he was grateful that he had finally gotten her to open up.
(Y/n) tapped him on the shoulder. “Jaemin, class is over.”
“Really?” Lifting his head, Jaemin looked around to see people were indeed leaving.
“I guess you didn’t pay much attention to the professor, did you?” She sighed and crossed her arms.
“How can I, when I have you next to me?” He teased.
As expected, (Y/n) quickly lost her composure when he said that. She got flustered so easily.
“Are you always this direct in a relationship?” she blushed.
“Only for you,” Jaemin winked and held out his hand to her. “Come on, everyone has left already.”
They walked out into the hall, avoiding the occasional stares from passing students. Jaemin felt (Y/n) nudge him when they got outside.
“I don’t have work today,” she said. “Is there anything you want to do?”
Jaemin hummed, pretending to think for a second. Little did she know, he was hoping she didn’t have anything else to do today.
“We should go on a date,” he suggested.
(Y/n) stared at him as if she didn’t hear him properly. “Date? Where would we go?”
Jaemin simply smiled and told her she would just have to wait and see.
════════
They stepped inside, and the scent of candy greeted them.
“I came here with Jeno once to make cookies. I thought it would be fun to try decorating a cake,” Jaemin said.
“Cake decorating?” (Y/n)’s eyes scattered around the colorful place. Ha, he bet she thought he was going to take her to some cafe.
First off, Jaemin wanted to take her mind off things and destress a little. Considering she spent a lot of her time working with coffee and beverages, he didn’t want to take her somewhere that reminded her of that. It was their first date, and he wanted to make it special. (Y/n) being impressed by his creativity was an added bonus.
“What do you think?” he asked her, just to make sure.
She gave him a nod of approval. “It sounds fun. I just can’t guarantee our cake will turn out too pretty.”
“I’m sure we’ll do just fine,” Jaemin reassured her, gently patting her back. “Come on, let’s go find a table.”
A lady who worked at the store bought them a sponge cake covered in plain white cream. They listened carefully to her directions before they got up to get toppings to decorate their cake. There was an entire room filled with an assortment of candies, sprinkles, fruits, and icing.
“You and your love for sugar,” (Y/n) giggled when she saw Jaemin eyeing the chocolate section.
He smiled sheepishly. “You should choose things you like too.”
In the end, they settled on a few toppings that they both liked and went back to their table. Jaemin had no clue where to start. Luckily, (Y/n) seemed a lot better at cake decorating than she thought she would be. She guided his hand carefully to drizzle chocolate icing along the outer edges of the cake.
By the time they finished decorating, (Y/n) seemed pleased with how nice the cake turned out. Jaemin took a bunch of pictures with his phone, with the majority of them capturing her. He couldn’t help it when she looked so cute in his eyes.
After getting dinner, Jaemin and (Y/n) strolled hand in hand towards her dorm building. Jaemin purposely walked slower, dreading the idea of having to part from her. The gentle glow of the streetlights cast a warm ambiance around them, and the sounds of their laughter mixed with the rustle of leaves under their feet.
As they stopped in front of her dorm, he turned to her with a soft pout. “Do you really have to go?”
A soft chuckle escaped her lips at his newfound clinginess. “I have class in the morning, you know. We’ll see each other tomorrow.”
“I know…” Jaemin mumbled, playfully kicking the ground.
The smile on her lips grew, as she lightly squeezed his hand. “Thank you for today. I had a lot of fun.”
“I’m glad,” he said, a subtle giddiness dancing in his heart. He couldn’t help but think of all the other things he wanted to do with her now that they were together.
Their hands remained intertwined, as the two stood in silence for a few seconds. Jaemin’s gaze turned more tender, and he leaned into place a quick kiss to her lips. “See you tomorrow, (Y/n).”
Heading inside the building, (Y/n) couldn’t help but glance back at him. The lingering smile he wore and the warmth in her eyes made her heart beat faster than usual. She wondered if she’d ever grow accustomed to that feeling. One thing she was certain of, was that today marked the beginning of something beautiful.
If this was a dream, she never wanted to wake up from it.
┈◦•◦♡•◦┈◦•◦♡•◦┈◦•◦♡•◦┈◦•◦♡•◦
In the weeks that followed, (Y/n) slowly felt more secure in her blossoming relationship with Jaemin. Things hadn’t changed much from when they were friends. He still had lunch with her, dropped by her workplace, and walked her home. The notable change in these moments now included flirtatious banter and kisses. She learned early on that Jaemin didn’t hold back when it came to openly expressing his affection. She wasn’t used to having someone care so deeply the way he did.
One weekend, they decided to make dinner together at his apartment. Jaemin took her to the grocery store near his place so they could pick up ingredients. He guided her through the aisles, hand in hand, creating a sense of warmth within her.
“I make really good pork belly,” Jaemin mentioned, placing a pack of the frozen meat in the cart. “You’re going to love it.”
(Y/n) smiled, “We should get some kimchi to go with it.”
As they headed toward the kimchi section, the smile on her lips faded when she spotted a familiar figure. She internally cursed as their eyes met. Jaemin observed her complexion growing paler as the person approached them.
“Eomma,” the word slipped past her lips without her realizing.
“Well if it isn’t my lovely daughter,” the woman chimed. “You haven’t been answering any of my texts, I was getting worried.”
Unconsciously, her grip on his hand tightened. She hadn’t seen her mother since their argument. But that didn’t stop her from berating her phone with texts that said all kinds of things. She didn’t expect to run into her mom like this.
“Yeah…I was busy,” she mumbled in reply.
Her mother turned to Jaemin with an intrigued expression. “And who’s this?”
Before she could answer, Jaemin spoke up. “Nice to meet you. I’m (Y/n)’s boyfriend, Na Jaemin.”
As he politely bowed, her mother clasped her hands together. “Oh, how wonderful. She’s never mentioned you before.”
Jaemin was perceptive enough to catch the way she bit her lip. She only ever did that when she was nervous or uncomfortable. While he didn’t know why she seemed so tense, he decided not to comment on it for now.
“It’s a recent thing. We’ve been together for a few weeks now,” he explained with a tight-lipped smile.
She sucked in a breath, observing her mother eye Jaemin as if he were a piece of candy.
“What a handsome face. (Y/n) should bring you over sometime,” her mom said, subtly darting her eyes towards (Y/n). “After all, I am her mother and gave birth to her. It makes my heart ache when she doesn’t visit.”
The indirect jab hidden beneath her mom’s words made (Y/n) feel like a little girl again. She hated it when her mom tried to guilt her because it always worked.
“Sure, Eomma. We’ll visit you,” she said, forcing herself to smile.
Her shoulders gradually sank once they were a safe distance away. Sensing her unease, Jaemin lightly nudged her. “Are you okay?”
Almost automatically, she nodded. “Yeah, I’m fine. Let’s just finish shopping.”
Jaemin frowned as she pushed the cart forward and walked ahead of him. The way she immediately brushed him off confirmed that something was off. But if she wasn’t ready to talk about it, he didn’t want to push her.
He was sure she’d open up to him more eventually.
┈◦•◦♡•◦┈◦•◦♡•◦┈◦•◦♡•◦┈◦•◦♡•◦
The unease she felt since encountering her mom that day hadn’t gone away. Her phone hadn’t stopped blowing up with messages since. Though her thumb scrolled mindlessly through her mom’s texts, she couldn’t find the energy in her to respond. Letting out a quiet sigh, she placed the phone down so she could focus on her homework.
“Princess, do you have an extra phone charger?” She glanced up at the sound of Jaemin’s voice.
She couldn’t help but blush a little at the name he used for her. He started calling her that some time ago, and it never failed to make her heart skip a beat.
He had come over to her dorm after his class to do some studying. But it ended up turning into her doing actual work while Jaemin ranted about how Jeno accidentally poured water on his laptop. While he was a little distracting, she didn’t mind his presence at all. She was so used to doing everything on her own, and having Jaemin around made her aware of the loneliness she had been feeling prior.
Nodding, she pointed toward her desk. “Should be in the first drawer.”
Jaemin opened the drawer in search of the charger. However, his eyes widened when he unexpectedly found a razor blade peeking out from a notebook. His brows furrowed in confusion as he hesitantly picked it up. Upon closer inspection, he noticed brownish-red stains on the blade.
She sat up straighter on the bed, her eyes meeting the back of his head. “Did you find it?”
“(Y/n)...what is this?” he asked.
When he turned to her with the familiar shiny tool, her eyes widened with panic. Curses instantly flew through her head, realizing she had forgotten it was there. How could she be so stupid?
Quickly regaining her composure, she attempted to brush him off. “Oh, that’s nothing. Just an old thing.”
She could sense the skepticism in his eyes, and her fingers instinctively gripped the edge of her sleeve, pulling it down. Jaemin caught that, causing his worry to deepen. Setting the blade down, he moved to sit beside her on the bed. His gaze involuntarily fell to her arm, and she pulled back as he extended his hand.
“Can I see?” His voice carried a softness that tugged at her emotions.
Struggling to maintain eye contact, she bit her lip in hesitation. (Y/n) knew that if she was going to be with Jaemin, he would eventually have to find out about her secret. Nevertheless, she hadn’t anticipated it happening so soon. After a deep breath, she reluctantly rolled up the sleeve of her sweater. She looked down at the series of old scars with a mixture of shame and disgust.
Half of her expected the same reaction from Jaemin. But instead, his expression remained unreadable as he lightly traced his fingers over the faded marks. His touch sent an electric tingle down her spine.
“What happened, Princess?” he asked, his voice gentle.
She knew that he simply wanted to understand the reasons behind the scars. However, his question brought back memories she had buried deep, almost making her feel sick. Nonetheless, she took another deep breath before starting to open up.
“Ever since I was little, my parents were always fighting and it always made me feel anxious. At some point I started to think that my parents would’ve been happier if they hadn’t had me,” she confessed. “Then I started cutting myself to numb my feelings. And it only got worse when my mom filed for divorce. I always knew it would happen, but it still hurt.”
Tears sprang to her eyes as she thought back to those nights where she felt so helpless and resentful. The only person who was able to pull her out of that dark place was Renjun. But she was brought back into that downward spiral after everything unfolded. Fighting against her mental state had been a long battle that she still hadn’t fully recovered from.
Jaemin listened in silence, his heart aching for the pain she endured. Now he understood why she seemed so unnerved when they ran into her mother at the store. He could only imagine the influence her mom had over her.
“So that’s why my relationship with my mom isn’t great,” she continued, fidgeting with her blanket.
Jaemin could discern the anguish in her expression. “I stopped cutting a long time ago,” she said, glancing down. “But I understand if you don’t like me anymore.”
Honestly, she didn’t know how he could still like her when he saw her hideous scars that only revealed her brokenness. Yet, the Jaemin she had fallen for wasn't like that at all. Instead of recoiling in revulsion, he lifted her chin so their eyes could meet once more. Then he leaned into plant a tender kiss on her lips.
“Nothing can change how I feel about you, (Y/n),” he said with the utmost assurance. “These scars only show that you’ve gone through battles, and came out stronger because of them.”
Jaemin’s sweet words triggered the waterworks for her, and he wasted no time in pulling her into his embrace. This was the first time he saw her cry, and it only made him want to hold her tighter. In fact, he held her in his arms, providing solace for the rest of the night.
While Jaemin hated seeing her in such distress, he was also grateful that she let him see this vulnerable side to her. He knew it couldn’t have been easy for her. He felt as if he had uncovered the final piece of her puzzle.
Now that she had fully let him in, Jaemin was determined to make her feel more loved than she ever had before.
┈◦•◦♡•◦┈◦•◦♡•◦┈◦•◦♡•◦┈◦•◦♡•◦
{ three years later }
“Jaemin, quit staring,” she giggled. “You have to focus on the road.”
He pouted in response, reluctantly obeying. “I can’t help it, your new hair color is so pretty.”
A blush crept up her cheeks as she subconsciously brushed a lock of hair behind her ear. Dying her naturally brown hair to burgundy had been an impulsive decision on her part. She thought that a little change might be nice, and Jaemin seemed to like it.
Time had flown by so quickly. It felt like yesterday when she was insistent on not getting close to Jaemin. And now he had become someone she treasured the most. She couldn’t imagine her life without him.
She had graduated college and secured her first full-time job. While Jaemin was in medical school, studying to become a surgeon. Although his schedule could be demanding, he still made time for her, which she appreciated.
“Where are we going?” she asked.
“This fried chicken place Jeno told me about,” he replied, playfully ignoring the way she hastily changed the subject. (Y/n) hummed in response, gazing out the car window to admire the night aesthetics of the city.
Right when they stepped in the restaurant, they were greeted by the enticing aroma of chicken and beer. The dimly lit ambiance cast a warm glow across the space, creating an inviting atmosphere. The latest K-pop songs reverberated through the air, infusing the restaurant with a vibrant energy that resonated with the bustling city outside.
“(Y/n)!”
Jaemin noticed the startled expression when she heard her name being called. He glanced in the direction of the voice and spotted a charismatic tan-skinned man with dark brown hair, radiating a lively and welcoming aura.
“Lee Haechan?” she asked, her eyes widening in surprise.
“The one and only.” The boy said proudly, shifting his gaze to the person standing beside her. “Nice to see you, (Y/n)...and who did you bring with you?”
She blushed almost immediately, briefly glancing at Jaemin. “Oh this is Na Jaemin, my—”
“Boyfriend,” he finished for her, casually swinging an arm around her shoulders. “How do you know, (Y/n)?”
“Oh, we go way back since elementary school.” She caught the mischief in Haechan’s smile, and she just knew that he was ready to tease her.
Thankfully, he held back and guided them to a table. Once they settled down, Haechan told her about how he opened up this restaurant after college. It was nice catching up with him after all these years. However, Haechan seemed to be more intrigued about her and Jaemin.
“So how did you two get together?” Haechan asked, as he placed down two glasses of beer on their table.
She exchanged a glance with Jaemin before answering, “We shared a few classes our first year in college, and he used to go to the café I worked at.”
“Yeah, I was interested in her from the start. It took some time for her to warm up to me.” The soft smile he gave made her heart flutter. “But it was worth it.”
Haechan leaned back in his seat with a playful grin. “Well, Na Jaemin, you must have some charm to crack her tough exterior. I honestly thought she’d never let anyone in after—”
“Haechan,” she said in a warning tone, shooting him a glare. Although she’s moved on from her high school days, she still didn’t like to talk about what happened.
The male raised his hands in the air, feigning innocence. “I’m sorry, I was just saying. But I’m genuinely happy for you, (Y/n), really.”
The sincerity in his eyes allowed her shoulders to relax a little. She smiled at him gratefully, reflecting on how far she’s come since high school. The last time she saw Haechan, she was at her all-time lowest. Now, she was the happiest she had ever been in her life.
Towards the end when they were getting ready to leave, Haechan mentioned a small high school reunion event he was hosting at the restaurant next Sunday.
“You should come (Y/n). I’m sure our old friends would love to see you.”
The thought of seeing her high school friends again was daunting. Haechan noticed the hesitation in her expression and offered an encouraging pat on the shoulder.
“Just think about it,” he said.
Biting her lip, she gave him a small nod and glanced back at Jaemin so they could leave. But as Jaemin headed outside, Haechan held her back for a second.
“You should look him up.” She didn’t need to ask to know he was talking about Renjun.
Unsure of what to say, she nodded silently and joined Jaemin out in the cool evening air. She was quiet during the car ride back, but Jaemin decided not to comment on it for now.
Later in the night, instead of sleeping, she was on her laptop trying to occupy her mind with work stuff. Yet, Haechan’s suggestion lingered in her thoughts. Though a part of her resisted, the curiosity was overwhelming. So she slowly typed Renjun’s name into the search engine, and she was surprised by what she found.
He had debuted as a main vocalist in an idol group under SM entertainment. She couldn’t believe her eyes as she scrolled YouTube, showcasing his group’s music videos and stage performances. Watching the clips in awe, she couldn’t help but think back to the letter she had written to him before moving away. Seeing that he had not only pursued but achieved his dream filled with her a warm sense of pride and satisfaction. She always knew he would be successful.
Lost in her thoughts, she almost didn’t notice Jaemin entering the room after finishing his shower. It was pretty late by the time they got back to her apartment, so Jaemin happily accepted her offer to sleep over. She became aware of his presence when he came up from behind and wrapped his arms around her. Her lips stretched into a small smile, as he rested his chin on her shoulder.
“Is that the guy you told me about? Your first love?” he asked, viewing the screen in front of you.
Her smile faded as she slowly nodded. “Yeah that’s him.”
A moment of silence passed between them before Jaemin spoke again. “Is that why you hesitated when Haechan brought up the high school reunion?”
“I don’t know, I feel like I’d just make things awkward by going,” she sighed, turning around to lightly brush her fingers through his slightly damp hair. “What do you think?”
Jaemin gently tilted her chin up, meeting her eyes. “I think you should go,” he murmured softly. “I know you moved on, but confronting your past might give you some closure.”
Her lips pressed together, recognizing the validity in his words. Despite that, uncertainty lingered in her expression.
“I could come with you if you want,” he suggested.
Surprised by his offer, she raised an eyebrow and asked if he was being serious. Jaemin nodded with a reassuring smile. “Of course, I wouldn’t let my princess do this alone.”
In moments like those, (Y/n) couldn’t help but find herself falling for him again. He was always so sweet and supportive.
“Thank you, that means a lot to me,” she whispered, caressing his cheek with the pad of her thumb. “I can always count on you, can’t I?”
Jaemin's smile broadened as he met her halfway for a quick kiss. He closed her laptop, and pulled her into his embrace so they could cuddle in bed. Laying there beside him, she could see the love pouring from his eyes.
And with him, she felt like she could take on anything.
┈◦•◦♡•◦┈◦•◦♡•◦┈◦•◦♡•◦┈◦•◦♡•◦
No matter how much she tried to mentally prepare herself for Sunday, her hands still trembled as she stood outside the restaurant entrance. Thankfully, Jaemin was by her side to lightly squeeze her hand in reassurance. After a slow exhale, her hand wrapped around the door handle and pushed it open.
As she walked into the sound of chatter and clinking glasses, she spotted Haechan downing a shot of soju. After placing the glass down, Haechan waved over to you and Jaemin.
“Oh, you guys are here!” the male called out.
Heads turned, and the sudden attention made her cheeks heat up.
“Hey, everyone. It’s been awhile,” she said with a sheepish smile, exchanging a brief glance with Jaemin. “Um—this is my boyfriend, Na Jaemin.”
Just as she said that, her eyes locked onto him almost immediately. He didn’t look too different from the last time she saw him, except his facial features were more defined and his hair was bleached. She wondered how many times he’s had to dye his hair since he debuted.
Instantly, her introduction of Jaemin elicited excited comments and congratulations, intensifying her shyness. Seated among her former classmates, she and Jaemin found themselves bombarded with questions about how they met and other details. Gradually, she began to relax as she and Jaemin recounted their story.
Later in the evening, Haechan encouraged Renjun to perform one of his songs for the group. Although Renjun seemed hesitant initially, he eventually stepped up to the small stage located near the back wall of the restaurant. Soon, music began to play through the speakers, and she observed with anticipation.
It had been so long since she heard him sing in person. As he started with the first verse of the song, a wave of high school memories flooded through her mind. Those days when they would listen to his playlist while waiting for the bus. The summer days when he tried to get her to sing his favorite songs with him, but she was too shy to join in.
She watched as he took the microphone off the stand, reaching the chorus of the song.
“Tell me why I let you down. Any chance I get I’m breaking down,” he sang with such emotion. His voice was just as beautiful as she remembered.
“I know it’s my fault, but why is it so hard?” Her heart strangely twisted when his eyes found hers. “To tell you that I’m sorry, heart.”
It didn't take much for her to understand that he was singing to her. As he continued with the rest of the song, tears glossed over her eyes. Although she was no longer hurt by the past, hearing him now made her heart swell in emotion. Jaemin was right, this was the closure she had needed.
When the event came to a close, Jaemin suggested they take a little walk. She was a little confused when he guided her across the street and stopped under a large maple tree. Moonlight filtered through the branches, creating a serene ambiance.
“You okay?” he asked, noticing she was more quiet than usual.
She pondered on his question for a moment before nodding. “Yeah, I am. I thought I would regret going tonight, but I’m glad I did.”
“I’m glad you did too. All your friends seemed nice,” Jaemin said, placing a hand in his jacket pocket. Initially, she assumed he was just cold, but then his hand emerged holding a small black box.
“What…what are you doing?” she asked, looking at him with a puzzled expression.
Jaemin smiled, his eyes reflecting the moonlight. “I was going to wait, but for some reason, I think now is the right moment.”
Her eyes widened when he got down on one knee, and her heartbeat skyrocketed instantly. A part of her wondered if she was hallucinating.
He opened the box, revealing a beautiful diamond ring inside. She gasped, clasping a hand over her mouth.
“Kim (Y/n), I knew you were the one since the first time I laid eyes on you,” Jaemin began, trying his his best to keep his voice stable, his hand shaking a little. She had never seen him so nervous before.
“Over time, I fell in love with the way you smile, the way you face challenges, and the incredible strength you carry within you,” he continued. “Every day, I am so grateful that you let me into your world. And these past few years together, made me realize that I don’t want to live another moment without you in it.”
By this point, she couldn’t stop the tears from streaming down her cheeks. Jaemin let out a shaky breath, his eyes filled with love as he asked, “So with that said, will you marry me?”
Through tears, she managed to nod, her voice barely above a whisper, “Yes.”
She wished she could say the word a million times over. What did she ever do to deserve Na Jaemin in her life?
Once the ring was slid onto her finger, they embraced tightly than they ever have before. In the midst of their joy, she spotted Renjun standing across the street. Their eyes met, and the genuine smile they shared conveyed a silent understanding. In that moment, she realized that they both found their happy endings in a way. He went after his dreams, which was all she wanted for him. Meanwhile, she had found someone who cherished and valued her.
Jaemin broke away slightly to wipe her tears. Then he slowly leaned in to give her a kiss, one full of passion and tenderness. Her hands found their way to the back of his neck as she applied a little more pressure to the kiss.
“I love you, Na Jaemin,” she whispered when they parted, her eyes still watery.
The smile on his face widened as he pressed his forehead against hers. “I love you too, Kim (Y/n).”
The city faded away, leaving them lost in the moment. Before she met Jaemin, she questioned whether she could ever find love or be loved by someone. But none of those doubts lingered in her mind as she stood in his arms.
Though Jaemin wasn’t her first love, he was most certainly her last.

You change your habits again, only this time your super smart profiler best friend notices
[TW, disordered eating, disordered thoughts, use of y/n (way more than I would have liked), rushed writing. If there are anymore pls lmk!]
-this is a part of my little comfort blurbs to write while I'm not home, this wasn't a specific request, but feel free to request either a blurb or a full fic in my asks (just specify which one) thank you for reading <3-
It was a great morning, it really was. You woke up, got dressed, and got to work just in time to pour yourself the last bit of coffee left in the work's coffee pot.
Then you walked to your seat.
You didn't think much of it really, you used to drink coffee black all the time. Sure, you prefer filling it with cream and sugar, but you really didn't need it. this was fine. You drank your black coffee and got through the day.
The next morning was a bit rougher. You had to leave for Texas for a case, and it honestly just slipped your mind to eat before the flight took off. You always forgot meals, it wasn't a big deal, it certainly didn't mean anything.
That evening you were getting ready for bed in the hotel room that you were sharing with Spencer Reid. You and Spencer had been friends since he began working with the BAU and it wasn't unusual for you two to be in one room together.
It felt off though.
"Hey, y/n," Spencer started, "I have some pretzels in my bag if you want some."
Sure, you were a little hungry. You were too busy with the case to eat the rest of the day. So you calculate that at about 26 hours without eating.
"I'm good, thank you though." You couldn't risk it You aren't quite sure what you're not risking, but the thought of eating anything makes you want to run in the opposite direction.
Spencer didn't accept it though, "At least drink something then. How about a coke?"
"Do they have diet?"
So, Sure, maybe you are being a little picky.
"You know, studies show that diet sodas contain a chem-"
"Spenc I love you, but I really don't want to hear about how it's going to give me brain cancer."
He grabbed your drink from the fully stocked fridge and walked it over to you, "You know you can talk to me right?"
You opened the soda and took a sip before responding, "Of course, why?"
"Your new thing with calories."
You didn't have a thing.
"There's no thing." You placed the drink down and stood up. You began to make your way to the bathroom, you didn't want to have this stupid conversation. A conversation that definitely didn't have to happen, because it was pointless. There was no problem. Sure, you cut down your calories, and sure, you re-downloaded MyFitnessPal, and sure you haven't eaten since last night, but that didn't mean there was a problem. You weren't small or tiny, and only tiny girls have problems. You didn't have a problem.
"Y/n?" Spencer's voice buzzed in your ears. You blinked and focused your eyes on where you were. You were leaning on the wall. Why were you leaning on the wall?
"Y/n you need to eat something."
Oh, so you were blacking out. But you didn't actually pass out, because only sick people pass out, "I'm fine Spencer I'm just tired."
He grabbed you by your hands. When did he even get over here? Your senses were fading in and out, you were on the bed now, you don't really remember getting there. You swore up and down you didn't have a problem, so why is this so scary?
"I'm going to get you some food okay?"
No no no no no no no no no
"Y/n?"
He said your name so gently, like you were fragile, like he could break you. You looked back up at him, at his kind eyes. You broke.
"I don't know what's wrong with me."
He sat next to you as you fell into his arms. You cried onto his shoulder.
"It'll be okay. We'll get you some help. It won't be so scary anymore, I promise."
