I thought long and hard about sharing spoilers with you on my blog, but here they are: a buffet for Shinkane fans! I can’t guarantee that the spoilers are 100% correct since I haven’t seen the movie myself and translations can be messy, but I try my best – feel free to correct me, to add things or to call me a crackpot and liar!

I had a feeling that many of you would like to know (at least to some extent) what this movie is about and if Shinkane becomes canon. It will probably take some time for PPP to be released outside Japan and as we all know, patience is a virtue. Don’t read if you don’t want spoilers. I’m serious! There are major spoilers in this text! But if you don’t mind, here’s a summary of what I picked up from Japanese fans who have already seen the movie:

1. The first meeting with Unit One after Ko’s return goes as expected: Ginoza is angry and Sugo has to prevent him from going off on Kogami. The atmosphere between Akane and Kogami is described as awkward and tense even when working together on the new case. They travel to Dejima (?) and Saiga accompanies Akane because he’s the only one who can access the Stronskaya document.

2. When Kogami and Saiga have a drink in the apartment/hotel, Saiga urges Ko to contact Akane and to come clean with her. He obeys by calling her. Akane tells him to apologize (“I just want you to say sorry”) but he doesn’t, so she hangs up the phone. Kogami seems to be very irritated and I can’t wait to see his face. Also what is the meaning of the empty liquor bottle on Ko’s table?

3. Ginoza asks Kogami on the boat “Why did you come back? It was our duty to protect Tsunemori” to which Kogami answers something like “For someone else’s sake again.” Does it mean that he came back for Akane? I think so. Ginoza seems to smile a little when he hears this.

4. We already saw the scene where Ko shields Akane from the explosion, but I don’t know exactly what happens afterwards. They say the angle of view is a little erotic (this can also be translated as horny, obscene) LOL

5. When the Peacebreakers attack, Saiga-sensei dies. I think he gets stabbed and then falls over a railing into the depths of the building. Akane tries to save him but he lets go of her hand so that she doesn’t fall with him. Phew! This is going to be hard to watch. No wonder why the Japanese fans cried! When Akane finds his dead body, the one who comforts her is Ginoza. Ko goes after Akira to fight him in a landscape holo room (?) aka that scene with the horse.

It sounds a bit heartless and reserved, doesn’t it? Why all the drama?

7. Then there’s an interrogation at SAD or PSB headquarters and Kogami gets shot by the arrested Akira whose consciousness was hacked. Ko ends up in the hospital where Akane visits him and finally they talk to each other and come to an agreement. This is very reminiscent of PP1.

8. I was a bit surprised to hear that Akane is invited to Kei’s wedding and that Arata’s dad commits suicide in his car after giving a speech. Really? On the wedding day of his son’s best friend? Did Arata witness this? Holy sh--! At least, I read that Akane followed Arata into the parking lot and perhaps was able to comfort him.

9. Akane leads the operation to stop the Peacebreakers. Before she leaves (gets on the plane?) Kogami is worried and says “Hey, don’t do anything reckless” and she replies “I can’t promise you that, so you better come quickly please.” Is she flirting with him? I think it’s cute and quite self-confident.

10. When Akane is defeated in the fight against the white haired man who points a gun to her head, Kogami rushes to her aid. The plan was to arrest the guy but things went out of hand. Kogami shoots him and then he hugs the injured Akane – yes, that’s what it says in the comments! I can’t wait to see this! I read that Akane says something like “I made Kougami-san kill again” to which he answers “And I will be held accountable for it”. The hug seems to have been a request from director Shiotani, because (as we already know) Akane and Ko won’t see each other for a long time after that.

11. The end is a bit confusing and I’m not sure if I got it right: Kogami is arrested and Akane writes him a letter that is just as emotional as Ko’s letter in PP1. She says that he had a great influence on her life and that she can’t promise him anything. Then she goes off to kill chief Kasei during some public event (?) because Sibyl wants to introduce a new bill that would strip the Ministry of Justice of all authority (?). Akane’s crime coefficient is low because you can’t kill a cyborg. But from the public’s perspective, she’s a killer. She seems to sacrifice herself for the dream of a just society that abides by the law instead of Sibyl’s despotism. Now Sibyl has to judge her. They have to reveal and explain her low CC without looking like idiots. Good luck, Sibyl! Akane seems to have set a precedent in PPP.

12. Kogami goes free and Akane is sent to the isolation facility where she finally breaks down and cries. He promises to pick her up when she is released – and so he does in FI when he finally manages to apologize! Some fans say that even though Kogami’s crimes aren’t punished by law it’s clear from his emotions that Akane’s imprisonment is his punishment. His actions had an impact on others, especially on someone he cherishes and loves. But unlike Kogami who killed out of revenge and violated the law, Akane has committed a crime in order to uphold the law. The Japanese fans cried at the end. Kogami must look pretty miserable! Seems as if Shinkane has a habit of breaking each other’s hearts and ours too, huh? But we know they will reunite in FI, so there’s hope! And who knows what the future holds.

Well, the movie covers many issues: foreign politics, references from the bible, Bifrost, new technology and AI, lots of action and so on. It’s quite exhausting to do research in Japanese as a beginner, so I only focused on the things I wanted to know. In other words: Akane, Kogami, Ginoza and Shinkane! I can’t wait for this movie to be released in my country, although I think it will probably be another year :’(

One last thing: speculations about the nature of the relationship between Akane and Kogami are running wild on social media again but all I can say is that if only a mere 20% of the above is true, then you can’t speak of platonic. Sorry, it’s not possible! There are far too many emotions, far too much awkwardness here that you don’t go through as “just friends”. They’re not a couple, but both of them are probably aware that they could become one if they chose to.

Hi everyone! We here at @inu-mothership are back with a new round of fic recs! Our server has just celebrated its third anniversary this week, and to honor that, we'll be revisiting some of the ships that we featured very early on in our Spotlight Saturday days. "is that how you really perceive yourself?" kei asked, remaining nonchalant despite the heavy tension in the basement.

"fuck do you want me to say then?" you scoffed, tears threatening to spill from your eyes. "that i love it here? that i want to be with you?— in your dreams."

a few beats of silence consumed the space, paired with the nervous blinks from your eyes as you waited for his response, your palms growing sweaty as his eyes remain glued on your form yet inside those orbs—the soul within it drifting into the void.

"too bad, then." the loose black strands obscuring his eyes sways slightly as he approached you in small but long steps.

"w-what are you—" your attempts to push his hands away are rendered useless as he remains the stronger one here, long fingers finding its way through your jaw—gripping it in a strong pressure, not too strong to break your jaw but not too weak to convey his warning to you.

"of course, you wouldn't love it yet, darling.. but i will make you, and you'll eventually give in." kei's beady eyes pierced into your soul, so tender yet inhumanely psychotic that it sent shivers down your spine.

the pressure on your jaw dissipates, replaced with a sickeningly gentle strokes down your cheeks. "but if you won't, then i don't mind taking extra measures. hm?"

He’d be incredibly nervous to have you so close. Though he’d try to hide it, he only succeeds in making it more obvious.

“Close your eyes,” You command, leaning in close, brush in hand.

Kaoru lets out a nervous laugh as he does so. With him seated (backwards on the chair, his legs hooked around the backrest), you tower over him, and you take advantage of the vantage point to consider what colours to use. Normally, you’d might for a soft honey to match his hair–especially since gold liner would make his grey eyes pop. He’d look quite angelic, you think. Golden boy. Or maybe a pretty pink…but that wouldn’t fit UNDEAD’s colour scheme, nor would it fit their unit theme.

You decide to go for the safest option, a simple black. And cat-eye, definitely. It’ll make him look even more sultry on stage, all lean muscles and sharp angles–no more angel boy but the devil come to take his place and seduce you all down to his realm.

Your fingers skim against his jaw to hold him in place, and he squeaks, eyes snapping open.

“Kaoru?” You lean back, concerned. His face is flushed, and his breathing has picked up too. You can faintly hear his heartbeat jackrabbiting. “Are you okay?”

“Mm, yes, of course, why wouldn’t I be?” His voice is hurried, though he gives you a charming smile, which settles some of the worry in your stomach. “I’m just…excited, yeah? I can’t wait to see how sexy Y/N-chan will make me look~”

“Okay…” You say, slowly. “But if you’re… I dunno, uncomfortable or something, you’ll tell me to stop, right?”

Kaoru nods, yes, of course, Y/N-chan, don’t worry so much~. You lean back in, carefully cupping his face in your hands. You stop, faces scant inches apart, to gauge his reaction. He’s gone stock-still, eyes blown wide, and his breaths come a little ragged, but that could be attributed to nerves… He senses your pause, catches your eye and winks. You take it as a sign to continue.

Moving closer, you trace the curve of his eyelid with your finger, carefully marking the spot where the cat-eye will end. You cautiously draw a line, connecting the dot to the outer corner of his eye, then proceed to follow his entire upper lash line. After you fill in the outline with the liner, you breathe a sigh of relief and back away. “Alright, I think that’s done… Do you want to see?”

Kaoru seems to shake himself out of his reverie, and smiles at you. His eyes crinkle up at the corners, and expose a single dimple on his left cheek. Golden boy, you think. God, you just made him unfairly prettier. “Ah, no, I’m sure you did it perfectly. Thank you~”

He’s actually the calmest. If anything, his simple straight-forwardness makes you embarrassed, and oh, how the tables have turned.

“What kind of eyeshadow do you want?” Your eyebrows furrow as you study the palettes in your hands. You consider gold or copper… it would really stand out against his skin tone, and it would match his eyes as well… Adonis simply smiles at you, trusting you to do whatever.

“Gold would match your eyes,” You hesitate.

Adonis laughs, but not meanly. It’s a gentle huff, meant to reassure. “L/N, it’s okay. Choose whichever you think would suit me best.”

You hum, and snatch the sunset palette. Adonis leans back against the sofa, so you can move nearer to him. You stop a safe distance away. He gently wraps his hand around your wrist and tugs you closer. “L/N. I don’t bite.” You bite your lip, and move closer.

Adonis closes his eyes. “Is this okay?”

You gently draw the shimmer over his left eyelid, careful not to smudge. A few grains land on his lashes and hang there like simple stars. You want to leave them there, because they make him look angelic, almost…but if they got into his eyes, it’d be annoying to deal with. You swipe your thumb along his lash line, gathering the powder. His skin is cool to the touch.

The proximity must be getting to your head.

“L/N?” 

You startle. “Uh, sorry, I got… um, never mind?”

Idiot, you chide yourself. You move on to the other eyelid, using smooth languid strokes. You run your thumb along his lash line again, and lean back to admire your handiwork. You were right. The gold does look stunning on him. “Okay. I’m done.”

Adonis’ eyes flutter open, and he gives you a gentle look. Your heart skips a beat. “Thank you, L/N.”

“No problem!” Your voice sounds loud, even to your own ears, and you suppress a wince. God, fuck, what was that? “Um, anyways, I’m done! So I’ll go now! Bye!”

Adonis waves, a little perplexed. “Ah…alright. Thank you very much for your assistance, I hope to repay you one day. Will you be coming to our show? I would very much like to have you there. ”

“Yeah,” You smile. “I’ll be there.”

He’s so fucking embarassed, but he can’t help it, and he can’t hide it. It’s not in his nature. The closer you get, the worse his blush becomes.

“Are you okay with putting on blush? Just a bit?” Your query–despite being said with no demeaning motifs–makes Koga bristle.

“Hell yeah I am. Why, ya think I can’t handle it?” He growls.

“No,” You say as you rummage through the bags. “I just wondered if it’d fit your image. You know, as the ‘cool, badass wolf’. But I guess UNDEAD is pretty fanservice-y anyways, so the blush might make you look…” You hesitate, trying to look for a way to say ‘horny for the music’ without saying those exact words. You settle on seductive. “Seductive.”

“For real?” Koga sounds almost…surprised. “Me? Ya sure ya don’t mean… I dunno, Hakaze-senpai, or somethin’?”

You don’t deign to respond, instead busying yourself with getting the blush pallets out. This earns you a, Hey! Don’t ignore me! which you proceed to ignore as well. You take a moment to scrutinise the makeup in your hands and you frown. Unlike Sakuma-senpai, whose pale skin just adds to his so-called ‘vampiric sex appeal’ or Hakaze-senpai, with his suntan or even Adonis, whose darker skin tone neutralises the need for blush, Koga doesn’t have that luxury.

You turn around, and blink, surprised. Oh. “I didn’t know you’d already had blush applied! Why didn’t you tell me?”

Koga’s face is dusted with a light pink, and you take a moment to marvel at how the look compliments him.

“H-huh? Whaddaya mean?”

You point at him. “Your face is pink!”

He snaps at you, turning away. “N-no, it ain’t!”

You move closer, and he ducks his head. “You look good like this,”

“Ya… Ya think so?” Before you can respond, Koga barks a sharp laugh. “I-I mean. Of course I do! Anyways, ya don’t need to do anythin’ more, right?”

“No, I’m done.” You take your leave, but pause in the doorway. From this angle, Koga’s blush seems… less pronounced? But at your next words, it flares up, seeming brighter than before, and you worry you might be seeing things… “I’ll be cheering for you!”

He’d seem completely calm and collected on the outside, acting like a tease…but on the inside, he’s a flustered mess.

“Hm…which shade do you like best?” You brandish two different colours of lipstick at him, one a striking red and one a simple black, and Rei just chuckles.

“Kukuku… I trust you, my dear. Pick whichever colour you think suits this old man~”

You roll your eyes, because that is no help whatsoever. But he’s given you free reign, so you might as well take advantage of it. You decide on red, after some moderation, because it matches his eyes and will add a splash of much-needed colour to his pale face. When paired with his stage outfit, the red will really stand out. Plus, Rei’s attractive so it doesn’t really matter what you choose, it’ll look good either way.

Damn.

You’re kind of jealous.

Your hands hover awkwardly, just a few centimetres shy of cradling his jaw. “How should I…?”

His eyes light up, full of mirth and tease. “Now, now… Don’t be shy, come closer~” He pats his thighs, and you pause, thinking.

“Rei, stretch your legs out a bit, please?”

He does so, obediently. “Eh? Why?”

Instead of answering, you crawl forwards until you’re balancing on your knees, straddling him. You reach out to grab his chin in your hands, and he startles, leaning away from you. “Wh-what are you doing?”

You raise your eyebrows. “Putting on your lipstick. What did you think I was doing?”

Rei’s mouth is slack with surprise, but you blink once and his signature knowing grin is back on his face. He gives you a wry look, and it’s like there was never anything different. “Ah, of course… How silly of me. Please forgive this old man~”

You crawl closer, waiting for his approval. When he nods, you move right on top of him and gently rest your fingers against his jaw. “Can you part your lips for me?”

“Hm?” He doesn’t appear to be listening–his gaze focused intently on your…lips?–and you repeat your question when his eyes flicker back up to meet yours. “Oh, pardon me…” He does as asked, and you take care to apply the lipstick. Gently outlining first his upper lip, then lower lip. You mime popping bubblegum, and Rei copies your actions as though transfixed.

You recap the lipstick, and sit back on your haunches. “All done~” Rei just blinks, before snapping out of whatever trance he’d fallen into. He purses his lips into a kissy face, which would look ridiculous on anyone else, yet just looks sexy as hell on him. Once again, you curse his damn vampire genes. “...Thank you, my dear~”

A few more days go by, and the housewardens were called to a help with something very important, on the downside, that would also mean they couldn't perform their dorm duties and other stuff relating to managing their dorm.

So you decided to step in and help recommend some people to take the role of "Temporary Housewarden". Of course, you would be supervising their actions according to the list of things the housewardens have given you to supervise them on.

Trey thinks he's a very nice person, he always assists Tsukasa with whatever he doesn't understand or know how to do when managing the dorms

Cater thinks that Tsukasa's pretty cool! Way more chill than Riddle too

Ace is pretty happy that he doesn't have to get collared anymore because Tsukasa doesn't have the ability to collar people (still gets punishments tho lmao)

Deuce is pretty grateful for Tsukasa helping him if he ever needs it (helping him with his homework to appease to his mama of course)

Overall, you think he did quite great! Not too strict on punishments, but still strict with rules. Whenever it's time to check up on them, you know you can rely on Tsukasa so you don't really need to check on him

“Hey,” she called out. “Didn’t see you there.”

“I figured,” Yuji replied with a chuckle as he walked over to her. “You were in your zone.”

Sarina laughed lightly, brushing a strand of hair behind her ear. “Yeah, they get all my attention.”

Yuji’s gaze softened, and before he knew it, he reached out, brushing a raindrop from her cheek. “You should give some of that attention to yourself too,” he said, his voice quieter than usual. “You always take care of everyone and everything else.”

Sarina blinked, taken aback by the unexpected gesture. Her heart skipped a beat as her eyes met Yuji’s, his hand lingering on her cheek for just a moment before dropping to his side.

“I’m fine,” she said softly, though the way her voice trembled gave her away. “But… thank you, Yuji.”

Yuji nodded, but something in the air had shifted again, the same unspoken tension that had been lingering between them since the night of the accident. He took a step closer, and Sarina’s breath hitched as she felt his presence fill the small space between them.

“Do you remember that night?” Yuji asked, his eyes searching hers.

Sarina nodded, her pulse quickening. “Of course, I do.”

“I’ve been thinking about it a lot,” Yuji admitted, his voice steady but low. “Not just because I was scared, but because it made me realize something.”

“What?” Sarina’s voice was barely a whisper now, her heart racing in anticipation.

Yuji hesitated for a moment, his eyes flickering with uncertainty. But then, he took a deep breath and closed the distance between them, gently taking her hand in his.

“I realized that I care about you, Sarina,” he said, his tone sincere, his eyes locking onto hers. “More than just a friend.”

Sarina’s breath caught in her throat, her mind spinning with his words. She had always cherished her friendship with Yuji, but something inside her had changed, too, and she wasn’t sure when it had happened. Maybe it was the way he had saved her, or maybe it had been growing all along.

“I…” Sarina started, but her words failed her. Her heart was pounding in her chest, and all she could do was look up at him, her thoughts a jumble of emotions she had kept hidden for too long.

Yuji squeezed her hand gently, his thumb brushing over her knuckles. “You don’t have to say anything now,” he said, his voice soft, reassuring. “I just wanted you to know. I’ve been keeping it in for a while, and after that night… I realized I couldn’t hide it anymore.”

Sarina felt her heart swell with an emotion she couldn’t quite name. She didn’t know what to say, but one thing was clear—Yuji’s feelings had unlocked something inside her, something she had been ignoring.

Taking a deep breath, Sarina looked up into his eyes, her own emotions spilling over. “Yuji… I care about you too,” she whispered. “More than I realized.”

Yuji’s eyes widened in surprise, and for a moment, neither of them moved. The air between them felt charged, like the universe had been waiting for this very moment.

Slowly, a smile spread across Yuji’s face—a smile so full of warmth and relief that Sarina couldn’t help but smile back. He lifted his hand, gently cupping her cheek, and this time, there was no hesitation.

“You have no idea how happy that makes me,” Yuji murmured, his thumb tracing the curve of her cheek as he leaned in closer.

Sarina’s heart raced as she felt the distance between them shrink, and before she knew it, Yuji’s lips were on hers, soft and tentative, like a promise. The kiss was gentle, filled with unspoken words and all the feelings they had both been holding back.

When they finally pulled away, Sarina felt breathless, her head spinning, but in the best way possible. Yuji rested his forehead against hers, his breath warm on her skin.

“This is just the beginning,” he whispered, his voice full of hope. “For us.”

Sarina smiled, her heart full as she nodded. “For us,” she echoed softly, knowing deep down that something beautiful had just begun between them.

Ritsu

Ritsu and you are never seen apart

If you aren’t seen together then something is terribly wrong

He understands that it’s not easy for you when he has to go somewhere (i.e. on tour) considering how attached you are to him 

So when he leaves for a long time, he gives you a plushie you gave him as a birthday presents years back that he kept all this time

It’s a teddy bear that’s hugging itself, and usually you’ll find a hand-written note written by Ritsu that he leaves in between its’ arms

Usually it’ll be a dumb note with an inside joke of yours or something along those lines

It’s simple but it’s effective 

And whenever he gets back he’ll treat you both to some sort of junk food and movie night while you both relax! 

Rei

Rei teases you about this. A lot. 

He means no harm but he finds it funny how you’re nearly always clinging to him

Considering how he and Ritsu aren’t close at all, he’s grateful you want to be around him

Without realising it he becomes antsy when you aren’t around him either, he’s so used to your presence

He’ll never admit it, though

Rei appreciates that you seek him out, it makes him feel wanted 

When he leaves for a really long time he’ll text you about random stuff going on with his life - most of the time it’s about another argument between Kaoru and Koga

He’ll also call you a lot! Sometimes he’ll facetime you while he’s walking around wherever he is (and inevitably bumps into someone) 

He tries his best to stick around you though, as busy as he is. 

Izumi

Izumi doesn’t understand your separation anxiety at first

He just thinks you’re overreacting 

Until you have a nervous breakdown when he went on a trip with Knights

Then he, in his own way, starts to look out for you more

If someone makes fun of you for your anxiety, he’ll set them straight right away. How dare anyone make fun of his sibling! 

You both have matching bracelets with both of your favourite colours on it, he even made them himself (with the help of Arashi)!

He becomes very protective of you, and whenever you have a bad day when he isn’t around, he promises he’ll make up for it

Which is mostly you two going shopping lmao

Popping this under a read me because it’s a little long!

Some general setting notes:

- All characters are a little aged up in this AU! Each unit is apart of their own university team/general sports team (unrelated to uni). Every character is roughly around 2 years older than canon! :)

- Anzu is the manager of the UNDEAD team!

UNDEAD STUFF:

- Rei is the setter and the captain! He's incredibly strategic, but he cannot actually play on court for long due to his condition. However, when he gets swapped out -- he still observes from the sidelines and helps his team formulate strategies. If you've watched HQ!!, I would say his situation is similar to that of Kenma? Brilliant mind but gets tired easily: as well tending to get targeted much heavier by enemy teams due to this! But UNDEAD has developed a defensive strategy when it comes to situations like that! The rest of UNDEAD are very in tune with Rei's needs and know how to help him as much as they can. They're good buddies!!!

- Kaoru is the libero! He originally joined for credit and nothing more. He wasn't taking it very seriously in the beginning; but he slowly learned that he really enjoyed the sport (as well as his buddies.) He tends to make comments asking to go easy on him: (i.e 'Don't hit the ball too hard at me, okay?) but he puts his all into his games. I think he realised how much he really loved it and was valuable to the team when Koga ranted at him in that Special Anime Sports Show Way (you know the way) one time and kicked his ass in gear. I love Koga and Kaoru friendship so I'm shoving it in -- sorry not sorry.

- Adonis is a middle blocker! I thought this would be cute because he's always mentioning being the 'protector of the weak' and stuff like that -- So I put him as a MB! He's an incredibly competent middle blocker, who originally focussed mainly on blocks that were more to assist his team! Stuff like soft blocking. However he's been developing a killer stuff block lately (That's when you angle your hands in such a way that the intent is to kill the ball and slam it back into the hitters court rather than rebounce it) under the guiding hands of Rei! He's still more of a defensive blocker than aggressive, but he's slowly building up this skills :] Him and Koga are very close friends here, as well!

- Koga is a wing spiker and the ace of the team. He easily has the most stamina out of the whole team. He hits hard and he hits fast. He tends to get worked up however; and easily falls for taunts. He's the one who probably practises the most! Always dragging one of the other three into practice; he's always striving to improve. He and Rei have known each other for a long time and are the only ones out of the group to have known each other prior to the club. I see them more as silly brothers in this AU, because that's the dynamic that's most fun for me personally between them. He's very good friends with Ritsu as well! Their matches versus Knights is always one to watch because of that. He tends to feel insecure because he feels as though he is getting left behind his other teammates -- and that's why he practises so much.

If you're after more detail -- I'd be happy to provide! But I figured I would focus on UNDEAD for now considering I haven't um. Drawn the others yet. but they do Exist in My Mind.

I can say the positions of some units I know for sure tho!

(Note about crazy:B : They always make sure to have plenty of bananas for Niki to eat when he needs them!!)

Ra*bits: Nazuna (Libero), Tomoya (Wing spiker + Pinch Server perhaps), Hajime (Setter) and Mitsuru (Middle blocker) (Imaging him similar to Hinata Shoyou!)

Others are still in the Oven -- But if you had any specific Units you wished to know about, feel free to ask!!!

Was thinking about something I saw on twt a while ago. I will never be able to find it again bc I don't remember the user who did it & I also don't agree with what they put sooooo it doesn't matter anyways that I wouldn't be able to find it without digging ( & I don't wanna dig for that ). But someone listed Koga as being incapable of proper cooking. Which I highly disagree with.

A HUGE part of the reason Koga started gardening to begin with was to save on expenses. His family's not some rich folks. The Backdoor pamphlet finally filled us in on the fact that his father is a regular businessman & his mom is a stay at home housewife. But they paid for his apartment he lived in close to the academy during his second year of school. He might've lived in the apartment for the beginning portion of the third year since ES didn't officially start until part of the way through the school year. Anyways, back on topic, & since he was trying to save on expenses there's no way he didn't become efficient in cooking. I mean, even if it was simple meals easy to make at home, he's not gonna be horrible.

There's no info on what sort of meals Koga ate, aside from knowing he'd eat meat. So the expenses probably mainly went into meat & other goods he couldn't make himself. He's not TOO much of a baker, but he certainly cooks. He's also not gonna be burning his food or burning the kitchen down. He'd be fully aware that buying like bento boxes or any kind of pre-cooked meals would add up quickly in his expenses if that was all he was eating.

Plus, what would be the point of learning to GARDEN & growing his own vegetables & herbs if he didn't learn how to cook for himself??? It'd be pretty damn pointless. Then all those freshly grown goods would go to waste & Koga's not about that.
