Lost ;; 1

Arms, rested idly by his side, as the nightmare rested; inside the temporary cave, he called home. Long had he drifted; from hidden locale . . . to hidden locale, never really finding a place to call him home . . . all the while if he settled in— who’s to say someone might find him && cause issues.  

Though for now, he found respite—psychically at least.

As his mind drifted further between the plane of reality && his own realm, his body became more still. Often this was the case, as he brought himself into his own nightmarish scene. Darkness . . . 

Darkness for what seemed like an eternity.

His body floating through this darkness, that pulled him further in. Unable to move a muscle,  his tired eye seemingly scans around . . . looking for any picture, anything to go off of . . . rather than just the darkness that closed in around him. Voices rang through, crying, shouting, angry, && distraught— some were familiar, while others distant && unknown.

Somni squinted, as he tried his best to ignore the haunting cries of those he’d tortured in the past . . .  not that anything had any weight to it, as each voice was garbled with the rest; becoming more of a mess of sounds, than actual voices speaking to him.

‘ Hello?? ‘

Something pushed through the mess of tones, Somni flinched && eyes darting side to side as he tried to make out who had spoken out within the tempest of madness.

‘ HELLO?? ‘

❝ Hello, whos there?? who’s speaking??  ❞ He called out, much to his dismay not a single voice responded to his call. && as quickly as he’d been able to make out that single voice . . . again was it lost within the fragmented sounds. Leaving Somni only wondering who had broken through so much mess just to call out to him . . .

what seemed like seconds of silence, felt like hours.

‘ You want help . . . ‘

The voice then called out, everything went silent, all except Somni of the mysterious voice that soon continued to speak out to him in a nurturing manner.

‘ You’ve been looking for so long haven’t you?? why did you give up?? ‘

❝ I didn’t give up . . . I can’t find answers, I don’t know where to look . . . ❞ Somnis voice cracked with dejection as his mouth twisted into a frown. His mind flared at the thought of something else having broken into his realm. No one could do that . . . could they??   He trembled . . .

what was happening?? this had never happened before. . .  Was this even a nightmare?? it couldn’t be. he had a lunar wing . . .

‘ Don’t makeup excuses for your self. you close your self off from others. how do you expect to find an answer when you’re looking all on your own . . . it’s a fool's errand. It’s No wonder you’re so drained . . . ‘

With his head lowered, Somni had no voice to object. What could he possibly say?? there was no rebuttal. They were right . . . whoever this was; was correct && he’d been too stubborn to ever want to believe it. The idea of asking others— let alone people who MIGHT actually have answers. scared him.

He didn’t want to hear rejection.

❝ W-well . . . what do I do?? ❞ 

‘ Reach out . . . ask for help. Someone will help you. ‘

As the final piece of advice was given, what seemed like an endless supply of dark abyss, began to close in on Somni. The air became thin && as he further panicked, he could feel the pull of his mind being brought back to reality— one heavy tug &&

He awoke. 

An arm outstretched as if reaching for something. Tired eyes were locked into a forward stared, looking out into the maw of the cave, the moon hung at its peak. 

Nightfall had barely begun . . . But Somni would not be resting any longer . . .

off in the distance. Tiny paws pad away into the shadows.
