really interesting article, and overall a really good and comprehensive analysis of this research paper which is also massively important, so i want to make sure i say that, i just needed to bring out how this article’s title focus and random pieces of salt about Trans Discourse is bad and just really takes away from the importance of the whole point

the second paragraph? wrong. i don’t understand where he’s getting this from. no, i don’t see trans men getting “a pass from some oppression for trying to become the societal ideal” bro they fucking hate that. i don’t know where so many people are getting the idea that society is just like “oh ya, this person i perceive as a woman (subhuman) is telling me they actually are a man ! i do believe this is an understandable thing and not an embarrassment and an insult for [them] to even think” that just doesnt happen, nor do i understand the purpose of saying this for the article or the research topic in general. also the last sentence is weird, “but because they [trans men] cannot ever reach this ideal [of being male], both trans women and gay male “sissies” are dehumanized…” the causation here doesn’t track, failing to see trans men as men doesn’t make trans women and gay men dehumanized, and also like is the statement that said-failing-ideal trans man wouldn’t be dehumanized? i just really don’t understand the purpose of this paragraph. feels to me (like other parts) like vaguing this website, and there’s several other links to things about The Discourse:tm: called such so. that’s my guess and it really takes heavily away from this as a whole.

this, while a fully correct statement, doesn’t sit right with me after following everything else because again, *every* trans person is viewed as a woman and not-woman because “woman” is the patriarchal binary world’s Gender Of Bad (but being a normal cis woman is just the Right Way to be the Bad Gender) but what we certainly cannot ever be is what we really are. that’s the only reason this whole argument is even happening and it’s stupid. we read “woman” as meaning “oppressed gender” because historically and widely that’s what’s true. and there’s only two choices so it slips right by us. we NEED to be aware that that isn’t true. women are oppressed for being women but that does not mean that only women are oppressed for their gender, because that idea is fundamentally based on the structure of only two genders. decouple the association. there are more genders and expressions than you could dream of and that means you gotta dig it out from the ROOTS.
like just think about it even practically for two seconds. feminist/gender oppression history in a very simple sense. yeah people passed sometimes but hormones are a last century invention and not everybody can get those. world ruled by cis men who think women are the scum of the earth. then a “man” says she’s a woman. they don’t like that. where does she go? to the other women for support (i.e. feminist spaces). makes sense. then a “woman” says he’s a man. they don’t like that. where does he go? to the women for support. it’s not something that’s separate.
what happens after that fact can vary, since as we all know feminist spaces are certainly not uniformly inclusive and friendly to trans people and a group of cis women is not primed to just accept a trans woman into their ranks like this example. but i don’t wanna get super into that here because this isn’t specifically about radfems. my point is that the only way really to actually benefit from gender in this world is to be a cis man. full stop. the fight for gender equality has always belonged to cis women and all trans people together and im really sick of this weird idea that including trans women in that, for one, is new, and for two, has to mean shunting trans men out. bullshit, helping no one but the republicans, historically inaccurate, kills solidarity.
overall like i said this had a lot of good stuff to say about the study (although i question calling 16,000 a large study when it’s spread over that many countries ? but that’s beside the point, it’s still significant, that’s more just my scientific curiosity about the methodology) but i just don’t understand the necessity of saying things like this, especially the ones that just completely devalue the oppression trans men face because , ESPECIALLY when in the same article there’s a whole bit about how people tend to do that to another queer group, how people often disregard queer women’s oppression because of the quieter and more disregarding nature it can take compared to queer men’s oppression:

THIS to me resonates with how ive been perceived in my life as a trans man (and prior and transitioning etc) and not just because i was seen as a woman, though perpetrators might have. a “woman” wanting to be a man is not something to take seriously, it IS something of ridicule that should be fixed by showing him “her rightful place” as a subservient woman. honest to christ i keep saying it why do people think that trans men are somehow entirely immune to being treated like women. every single thing that can happen to a cis woman can happen to a trans man for the exact same reasons.
and NONNNEEE of that means it’s not also true for trans women. it is! he’s absolutely right trans women have unique and brutal oppression stemming from their position as trans women in a transmisogynistic society! there is just never any reason to frame it as if trans men are making shit up like “SEEEE TRANS WOMEN HAVE IT SO SHITTY MORE THAN THEM THOSE TRANS MEN OVER THERE” like please please please be vocal about trans women without putting down trans men there is NO REASON TO DO THAT. it’s less than useless, it’s actively harmful to trans solidarity, and because now that’s what your post is about, man (@ the author of linked post not op) it’s not about raising awareness for trans women anymore it’s about proving somebody’s suffering more than somebody else who is also suffering and that just sucks ass. does not, MUST not, be a competition for us to succeed in liberating ourselves.

and of course there’s the angle of, well lmfao yes trans women have been saying this in mainstream print since at least 2007 and doubtlessly in other fora for much longer, but sometimes an argument from authority has more force and how do we emotionally reckon with ongoing lack of agency in conversations about us, but i digressss

A short Takemiya Keiko interview from 1998
My "All Things Takemiya" detective friend, Platypus, provided me with a two-page Takemiya Keiko interview scanned by @97tears from the now discontinued Hato yo! (鳩よ! - Oh, Pigeons!) magazine. It was a literary magazine published between 1983 and 2002—a publication you probably wouldn't look at if you were searching up on Takemiya, ig.

I’ve always wanted to meet them! 1 – Takemiya Keiko 
“I wanted to draw real love” 
Takemiya Keiko. Born in Tokushima in 1950. Debuted with “Ringo no Tsumi” in 1968. Won the 25th Shogakukan Manga Award with “Kaze to Ki no Uta” and “Terra e.” Representative works include “Pharaoh no Haka” among others. “Tenma no Ketsuzoku” is currently being serialized in Asuka Magazine.  
I read “Kaze to Ki no Uta” during elementary school. It has left a very deep impression on me. I remember that when Ms. Takemiya is mentioned. It was like I was looking at something I was not supposed to look, and I still remember the thrill I felt.  Takemiya: Oh, is that so? (laughs) 
Thank you so much for being with me today.   Takemiya: And thank you for having me. 
Shall we start with what prompted you to become a shoujo manga artist?  Takemiya: Fundamentally, I was not suited for shoujo manga. I debuted in COM, and my dream was to draw manga that was neither shounen nor shoujo. But alas, the magazine in which I could draw my ideal manga was no more. My style didn’t have much “power” in it, so I inevitably had to choose a shoujo manga magazine. I think my art style was really uncommon at the time. But it was what it was, and I thought to myself, maybe capitalizing on that was the path I should take.  
Your works have an extraordinary depth as far shoujo manga goes... They have a unique art style...  Takemiya: It hasn’t always been like that. My shoujo manga technique was the fruit of what I have studied. It was not a result of my personal taste, nor my innate skills. Girls like that feathery, light touch. They like fine lines. But I didn’t have any of those. So, I figured drawing things girls would like a lot was my only choice. For instance, when I thought how they must like Europe at the end of the 19th century, I went on a trip as a result. I saw the real thing at its source, and did research on it.  
Then was Kaze to Ki no Uta born because you thought girls would like it?  Takemiya: That might have played into my choice of the time period the story’s set in. However, romance stories between a boy and a girl was the norm in shoujo manga at the time. You could only draw “And they lived happily ever after...” stories. And that happiness was only on the emotional level. It was normal to exclude all physical contact. But that is simply “affection.” I wanted to draw “real love.” I admit it was a little too sensational, but I thought doing it through same-sex love was the best way to go about it. That’s how I drew Kaze to Ki no Uta.  
The sex scenes between men were quite a shock for me as a little child. That’s how I learned homosexuality existed.   Takemiya: At the time, there was an official notice published by the Ministry of Education that stipulated that “You shall not draw a boy and a girl getting intimate!” However, if it was two boys, things were somehow fine... I thought I’d found a loophole! (laughs) 
These days, there are more extreme books labeled as “yaoi.” What do you think about them?  Takemiya: At the end of the day, doujinshi are doujinshi. They focus on personal enjoyment of a group. I consider myself a “craftsman,” and if I look at it from a craftsman's standpoint, I am not wholly satisfied with how they leave many things unexplained, or how they have no conclusion. At their level, I’d liked if those artists too felt more dissatisfied... If they aimed to be more conclusive. They have the talent to draw, so I’d love them to polish those skills. I’m sometimes told that it all started with “Kazeki,” and that I must take responsibility. And every time, I think to myself, “Oh... Re-really? Dit it?” (laughs) I wish someone drew something so awesome that it would blow Kazeki out of the water... 
I’d love that too! You called yourself a “craftsman,” but what exactly makes you think so?  Takemiya: I really love the word “craftsman.” I’m not interested in trying to reach an ideal of art that would not resonate with the public. I believe manga is something aimed at the general public. Otherwise, I would not consider it to have artistic value.  
Spoken like a real pro... Which brings me to Terra e... I think that’s the most widely-accepted manga of yours by the general public, and it was published in a shounen magazine. Why is it the outlier to be published in a shounen magazine?  Takemiya: I received an offer for it, but the truth is, I had always wanted to draw for a shounen magazine. That’s why accepted. But I needed to draw in the shoujo manga audience too, so I wanted the story to offer the best for both demographics. So I tried to have the concept to be that of shoujo manga, and the style to be that of shounen manga as much as possible.    
Is it different to draw for a shounen manga magazine, and a shoujo manga magazine?  Takemiya: You don’t have to hold back in shounen magazines. It fine to draw more hardcore stuff. But in shoujo magazines, that’s out of the question. There’s a trend that dictate that you should explain things in long-winded ways and spoil the reader, because girls like it when you reveal things to them through subterfuge, so don’t hit them directly with hard stuff. 
But after that, you’ve never drawn for shounen magazines which allowed you to draw as you wished.  Takemiya: Shounen magazines are mostly weekly. I cannot keep up with that. My art has fine details, so it takes me a lot of time to draw.  
Then will you be solely drawing for shoujo magazines in the future?  Takemiya: I can’t really say that I will. I’m currently working for a shoujo magazine with “Tenma no Ketsuzoku”, and with volume releases. I recently released an illustration book titled “Hermès no Michi.” I needed to base myself on documents and explain them in drawings. And they couldn’t be any kind of drawing, they needed to be interesting. Trying to come up with ways to do that was a very fun experience. So for starters, I’d like to undertake a work like that again. That kind of work I’m working on right now is a story about the fugitives of the Heike Clan in Tokushima.* 
*T/N: She is referring to “Heian Joururi Monogatari.”  
To finish our interview off, I’d like ask a question about the Year 24 Group (shoujo manga artists born around the 24th year of the Shouwa Era like Takemiya Keiko, Hagio Moto, and Ooshima Yumiko, who have influenced the shoujo manga world in the following years) which is still very prominent: Are you still conscious of it?  Takemiya: Year 24 is a thing of the past in the modern manga scene. I think it’s irrelevant now. Manga is evolving, becoming something else after being painted over continuously. I had fun when I was part of that group, but I don’t feel like dragging it out. I don’t want to cling to nice memories of the past as I work, and want to focus on how I currently think and feel. I want to do what I think is most fun at the moment.

you regretted taking professor song eunseok’s management accounting class, wondering why you’d even chosen it. what was supposed to be easy became a nightmare, with his strict demeanor making every class suffocating. you’d sit at the back, trying to avoid his attention, but the more you hid, the more he seemed to single you out.
you were now sat in the packed tutorial, weighed down by a sense of dread as he began, the ticking of the clock only heightening your anxiety. his sharp gaze swept the room, and despite your attempts to focus on your notes, you couldn’t shake the fear of being called on. your palms started to sweat, and just when you thought you might be able to slip by unnoticed, he paused and turned towards you. “what do you think about financial performance measurement?” he asked, his gaze unrelenting.
the whole class turned to look at you, waiting for an answer you weren’t prepared to give. “i think, u-um-” you stuttered, in fear of how he may react to your lack of confidence. he furrowed his eyebrows at your hesitation, clearly displeased.“speak clearly…” he paused, looking at the attendance sheet to find your name. “y/n, we don’t have time for stuttering. i expect you to understand the content by now,” he said in a condescending tone as he stepped closer to your desk, towering over you. the rest of the class held their breath, sensing the tension. “perhaps you need a refresher, hm? let me ask you again, slowly this time so you can comprehend what i’m trying to ask you.” the way he spoke to you made you feel as if you were unintelligent, incapable and unworthy of being in his class.
“so, what’s used to evaluate a company's financial stability?" he crossed his arms, awaiting your response. “not very sure, sir,” you replied, knowing he’d be disappointed. he scoffed, shaking his head. “not sure? you’re falling behind. keep up.” he glared at you sternly before turning to address the class again. as he ordered them to discuss, his eyes quickly flicked back to you, his expression cold. “see me after class,” he demanded and you nodded, looking down. a hint of a smirk played on his lips, noticing the change in your demeanour.
after 20 more minutes of group discussion, the bell rang and eunseok promptly dismissed the class, everyone rushing to leave the room as you approached his desk. “so,” he said, his voice low and commanding as his hand went on yours. “we’re gonna need to do something about your lack of preparation.” you got all embarrassed, cheeks bright red at the slightest touch from him. “aw,” he says, a hint of amusement in his voice, “being alone with me gets you all worked up, hm?” he leans in closer, his face inches from yours. “well, come sit on the desk.”
you obeyed him in an instant as he stepped between your legs, looking down at the wet patch that formed in your panties. “such a slut, aren’t you? all wet because of me?” you nodded again as he smirked, reaching down and pulling your thighs apart roughly. he slapped your clothed cunt, making your body jolt. “stop fucking slacking!” you moaned in response, loving how both the slap and his words had you. he yanked your panties down impatiently, tracing a finger along your slit. “mm, such a pretty cunt for such a pretty whore,” he purred. “almost like you’ve been waiting for this.”

i need to talk about this because this is very important to me:
yes, khun is down bad for bam and we KNOW that, but we need to start appreciating the fact that bam is down bad for him too and he’s just as embarrassing about it, like, this is not one sided, guys. the only difference is that bam always has a lot of shit going on, while khun always only deals with bam related problems.
but examples of bam being down bad:
• always singles khun out in a group, he’s the first person he sees and unless someone else interacts with him, he continues to only focus on khun, to the point that endorsi herself talks about this more than once, because she’s jealous that bam isn’t paying attention to her.
• while bam doesn’t like seeing any of his friends hurt, he usually doesn’t stop them from joining fights if they insist on it, he’ll just do his best to protect them. but here’s the thing: if he can help it, he doesn’t even let khun join a fight in a physical way and when khun looks like he’s going to leave his post in his lighthouse, bam explicitly tells him not to do that because it’s too dangerous, because to him khun belongs in the safety of his lighthouses, strategizing and protecting their friends.
• at the end of the day, the person bam is going to open to will always be khun. this is explicitly made aware when he bids both endorsi and yuri good night (two people who are his close friends and he’s known for years, and could’ve open up to at anytime) because they said they were going to rest, but when khun tried to do the same, he stopped him and asked if he could speak to him about the master key. very important!!! bam also wants to be the person khun opens up to, but every time he manages to ask him something personal, they get interrupted (looking at you, endorsi).
• bam actually stated it himself that khun ‘is his most precious friend’ when talking about why he was protecting ran, in terms of him being khun’s brother. enough said about it, khun is already on a whole other level to anybody else, and how insane it is that he’s willing to lay down his life for ran because he knows it would upset khun if anything happened to him?
• RACHEL HERSELF POINTED OUT THAT KHUN IS BAM’S PRIORITY!!! when she asked bam why he was giving her a fair chance in terms of getting the thorn fragment, literally her first assumption was because she had saved khun’s life.
• i also feel that is important to point out that while bam may not want khun in the direct line of danger, there is no one he trusts more than khun, because he knows that at the end of the day he can take care of himself, he just wishes he wasn’t put into a position where he had to. like in the sweetfish situation, he had a choice of where to go and he chose to go to hoaquin because he knew khun was with the sweetfish and he trusted khun to have a plan, even though he was worried.
• lastly, i need to mention this because i have never seen nobody talk about that: bam tries to hold on to the image of himself from the test floor in his interactions with khun a lot. after his time as jue viole grace, every time we see him interacting with other characters we see him serious and determined but rarely smiling, even with his old friends, but with khun i noticed a lot of instances that he does the closed eyed smile to reassure that everything was fine and while a part of me wants to believe that the only reason this happens is because khun just brings out this side of him, i also believe that is because (at least in a subconscious level) he believes that is the version of himself khun grew to care for (since we know bam segregates his personality, since his sworn enemy is the version of himself that is jue viole grace) and if he’s not that version anymore, will khun still care for him? (welp, this just got really angsty).
to end all of this: basically, i feel like we talk a lot about khun and his obsession with bam (affectionate) but we don’t talk enough about bam’s with him because his moments are always more subtle and usually get lost in everything else that’s happening on bam’s life.
and i noticed that we, in the khunbam fandom, tend to be able to read khun better (he truly is easier to read) than bam, but now this post makes me want to do a character study on bam.

Just a note on electricity it is less about creating a spark and more about it creating a current and breaking a current that is issue in regards to the Orthodox view. I can't remember under which of the 39 Halachot for Shabbat that this is considered to fall under. This why one of the work arounds is things that have an internal time delay.
So there a people who those automatic lights that light up the side walk and they a shabbos mode where is very slight time delay so it still lights up, but with this slight delay.
Having grown up Orthodox I learnt all about it, but the problem is I don't remember everything.
Main thing I want to focus on is that personally I have always hated how observant/religious is associated with Orthodox and Ultra-Orthodox only.
I always would ask myself why is that and what makes it that. Is it the following of more Halacha that is the qualification?
But I experienced in my life so many different Jews of all kinds and I have met some who may not follow a lot of Halacha, but truly embody what it means to follow the Tanach and to have Midot and have met some who some might be Orthodox or Ultra-Orthodox or Chasidim, but have clearly have no true understanding of the Tanach, have no Midot, and/or a Chillul Hashem.
When I think of our name Yisrael, those who struggle with G-d, I think that it means that we grapple with G-d and the existence of G-d and what G-d means to us each. But it also mean that grapple and struggle with the Halacha and understanding how we understand and implement in our lives or don't.
To me being honest is key. I know that there are certain Halacha I don't do and I try to be honest about it, to not be hypocritical about it. And maybe because I grew up seeing a lot of hypocrisy that is why I have such a bug about it.
I grew up surrounded by a lot of investment in Halacha regarding Person to G-d and a lot unfortunately wayside in regards to Halacha Person to Person, in my opinion.
(Though I will commend the community I grew up in for being amazing at treating guests and helping community members in need. )
There is a reason that the Generation of the Flood and the Generation of the Tower are contrasted with one another. Because their is an obvious question that arises when looking at these two generations.
Why is the Generation of the Flood deserving of be wiped out shouldn't that have been for the Generation of the Tower, they are the one who trying to build a tower to reach G-d to fight and kill G-d.
The reason is quite simple because the Generation of the Flood was cruel to one another, they would destroy each other while the Generation of the Tower worked to together, worked with each other.
That lesson I always felt was so telling about what was more important, was more of value in the eyes of Hashem.
I don't think there is anything bad about Orthodox, Ultra-Orthodox, or Chasidim overall. I think there is a reason that they exist.
I do have some concerns about certain things. I do think that certain and some groups like New Square for example are going to so far beyond what is called for in the Tanach that they are no longer following it.
I'm Jewish I have opinions I can't help it. I think that all Branches of Judaism are important and bring something to table even if it is a Branch that is not for me or has component that I'm not comfortable with.
While I personally do look wish we do not need to have Branches I understand why we have them.
I think that it should be clear that each Branch has put in the time and effort to understand the Tanach and Halacha and to make decisions based on those understandings. It is just what each Branch understand will vary and that is the most Jewish thing of all.
I also think that no matter what Branch you belong to or if you belong to none at all, if you believe in G-d or not at all you also have to learn the Halachot so you can try to understand it and so that you make decisions and choices with as much power and knowledge behind them as possible.
I think that if we can just respect each other and recognize that another's being observant/religious may not look like our own way of being observant/religious and it still just as valid and still them being observant/religious it would only make things better for all of us.
{I'm very passionate about this topic/issue so I apologize if any point in time I sounded preachy because that is not my intent or goal in anyway. Today my anxiety is not so great so I'm anxious about how my tone is coming off so again I apologize if it come as preachy. My goal was an earnest/honest tone}
I know I'm writing this right as shabbat is coming in and tbh I'm fine with that. I'm so tired of Jews saying that if they don't keep shabbat or practice Judaism in an orthodox way they're "bad jews" or "not observant." Um, no, that's not true. That's now how it works.
Reform Jews who use electricity on Shabbat are just as observant. Because Reform rabbis did the same work of Torah law interpretation, and came up with a different answer than orthodox Jews, but using the same process and approach to reading the text. They didn't go, "this is inconvenient so we're just not gonna do it." They said, "where orthodoxy sees electricity as something that may create a spark and therefore violates the melachot around making fire, we see it as a current, like water flowing, and just as it is permitted to use a faucet on Shabbat, so is flipping an electric switch."
If you choose to not be observant because it's not for you, that's fine. But orthodoxy is not the only way to be observant of Jewish practice. There's no line of what makes you observant and what doesn't, and that doesn't just go for Shabbat but it's the easiest example to illustrate my point. The Torah just says, "observe the Shabbat." That's it. If you look around on Friday night and go, "oh hey it's Shabbat, huh?" then tell me how that isn't observing the Shabbat? If you light candles and make kiddush and then go out to a movie, haven't you observed it? The Rabbis in the Babylonian era interpreted what Jewish practice looks like in a diaspora without the cultural/religious structure around a central temple, but that has been re-interpreted in every generation since and continues to be.
The real question is, are you making informed choices about your practice or are you just doing what works for you? Which is also fine, by the way. The thing that bothers me is when people think that only orthodox Jewish practices are "real" or legitimate. An orthodox friend of mine once started shit talking Reform Jews to me (why???) and how they aren't observant like she is. So I asked her if she tears her toilet paper on Shabbat and she said yes, of course. I pointed out that there are a lot of charedi Jews who would consider that a blatant violation of Shabbat and that, in their eyes, she wouldn't be considered shomer Shabbat. It's all a spectrum, there's no ONE right way.
My favorite Midrash is that the Temple had 13 entrances - one for each of the 12 tribes, and one for those who weren't sure which one they belonged to/didn't belong to any of them. Judaism is such an inherently pluralistic ethnoreligion, please stop buying into the brainrot bullshit that only charedim can do it correctly.

[You and the party were staying in a little town on your way to Wolworth And as luck would have it, it was market day! So, what better a time to have a lovely little date with your wonderful Red Giant~]
[You and Isa were running through the crowd, laughing, smiling. The sun was bright, the day was perfect.]
[(Then why are you so anxious?)]
[Ignore it, you squeeze Isabeaus hand.] "See anything you like~?"
"Hmmmm. . ." [He puts a hand to his chin.] "I mean I like a lotta things here! What about you?"
"Me?" [You pull him closer.] "Oh I have all I need right here~"
"H-heywait!!" [He's blushing, and you were already laughing.]
[You kept walking, (trying to ignore what happened at the Jouvente market), looking around, enjoying things. There were honey sticks, homemade cookies, some nice wood carvings, it really was a bananza of creativity.]
[(And you're still going to ignore what you read this morning?)]
[It's ALL you could do!! STARS!! You wake up all nice and ready for a perfect day with your Red Giant, you look at the journal and there!! A brand new voice to add to the chorus. And none of us have even met him!!]
[(And so you'll ignore it like a coward.)]
[Yes! This ASTERION can wait for later!]
". . . Oh!" [Isa stops, looking at one stall.] ". . ."
"Oh?" [You mimic,] "Find something you like~?"
"Aaaactually, doooo you know that person? I think I recognise them but. . ." [He replied, pointing in a direction.]
[You move next to him and try and look over the crowd, who was he talking about. . . There were a lot of random couples, groups, strangers, and. . . A stranger by one stand Isa was pointing at. You didn't recognise, but, no you. . .]
[(YOU.)]
[You almost jump in place, do you mind?!?]
[(You Don't remember who that is?? Are you a blinding idiot?!?)]
[The prompting of lovely Saffron jogged your memory. Stranger, on the road, talked about stars, universe, had food, and- universe, Universe.]
[(THAT. BASTARD.)]
"H-hey what's-" [(Isabeau starts, but you were already pushing your way through the crowd, step by step, untill you finally got to the tall figure with lightless hair.)]
". . . Oh!" [(The Universe smiled.)] "Hello again!"
[(You grab it and pull it around to look at you.)] "YOU!"

"What are you doing here!" [(Every hair on your head bristled and anger filled your eyes.)] "What are you BLINDING doing here!"
"L-loop what's gotten into you?!?" [(Isabeau caught up, trying to get you to calm down.)] "P-please, maybe just, calm down a bit?"
"No I will NOT calm down, Fighter!!" [(You glare at him, then back to the Universe.)] "You, y-you come here, after everything, to, to, to MOCK me?!? Haha, hahahahAHAHaha--"
"That's enough, now." [(The Universe huffed and wagged its finger.)] "Your ruinning Loops date. Leave us alone, Saffron."
[. . . You blink a few times and shake your head. That, what- STARS. You let go of Jinn in disgust. You didn't want to make a scene but your mind is YOUR BUSINESS!!]
"Oh! Sorry! It did look like he was giving you some trouble." [It replied.]
[Isabeau was looking confused between you and Jinn.] ". . . I feel like I've just missed a whole conversation."
"Oh! Yes!" [Jinn does a little curtsey.] "I'm Jinn, you remember me, yes?"
[Isa taps a finger on his chin, then snaps his fingers.] "Traveler we found on the road!"
"Yes!! You'll be happy to know I've kicked my passing out habits-"
"JINN-YYYYY" [A new, high pitched, energetic voice joined the conversation, shortly followed by a smaller figure crashing into Jinn. Their outfit was either a fashion disaster or fashion masterpiece. Everything was clashing and felt like your eyes couldn't focus on one thing for long. Which was weird because the outfit was just a very simple shirt, dress, and such.]
"Nebby!!" [Jinn giggled and ruffled their hair.] "Wandering off again? You're almost as bad as I!"
"Nuh uh!" [They giggled and kissed Jinns cheek.] "I sensed danger and came running- YOU!!!"
[You were surprised by the accusitory finger pointed at you.] "M-ME?!?"
"YOU'RE THE MEAN ONE!!!" [The stranger, named Nebby, tried to wiggle free of Jinn, but was unsucsessful.]
"W-whhhaaaatisgoingon-" [Isa was looking confused between all of you.]
"Please, Nebula, relax!" [Jinn lets go.] "Loop just has a lot of anger, and it's not like they can hurt me."
"I know that! But it's, it's the, theeeeee-"
"Principle?" [Isa offeres.]
"It's the PRINCIPLE of it!! THANK you Zaza!!" [Nebby moved quickly and booped Isa on the nose.]
". . . Okay, what's going on, who are you?!" [You ask, since Isabeau was too confused to.]
"Aww, don'tchya remember me?" [Nebby says with a pout.]
"Loop never met you, dear. Siffrin did, would you like t-" [Jinn was cut off by Nebbys enthusiastic nods.] "Alright, come on out, Siffrin."
(WhhUHHUH!?!!??!)
[?!??!??!?!?!??] "H-how, how, d-did you-" [You hold your head, you had a MASSIVE headache.]
(Nebby was practicly vibrating on the spot.) "HiSif!! Hiiii it's sooooo so good to see you again!!!"
(You look up, you, could recall some of what you did today. But, uh. .) ". . I, do, I know you?"
"Whaaat?!?" (Nebby looked shocked, then smiled!) "Oh RIIIIGHT! I have to do the THING!!!"
(The thing?)
[The thing?]
"Y'know! The thing! (。•̀ᴗ-)✧"
"The thing?" (Isa asks.)

"O-OH!" (T-THAT'S-)
"YAAAAY!!! ※\(^o^)/※" (The Change God flapped their hands excitedly.) "You remembeeerrred!!"
"Siffrin, Loop, why don't you introduce us?" [Jinn leans down and asks you politely.]
"FINE." [You hunch down, frustrated, but, you had to, for Isabeau.] ". . . . Jinn, Nebby, ttthhhhiiiiis is Isabeau. And, Isa, this is. . ." [You take a breath.] "Nebby, the Change God. A-and, Jinn, The Universe, or Ke- k-keao--."
"Oh!! Oh no need for the full name please!!" [Jinn frantically clarified as you massaged your throat, stars, that hurt.]
". . . . . ." [Isabeau was, completely silent for exactly thirteen seconds.] ". . . O-OH!"
"You're bigger in person!!" [The Change God stepped up to Isabeau, and poked him.] "Sooo much bigger!! Wow I should get out more!!!"
"Nebby, dear, let the mortal have his existential crisis for a moment."
"Awww, but he's so cute!! AND cool looking!!! And a real go getter with changing things up, too!!" [Nebby turned back to Jinn excitedly, then back to Isa. Who, at this point was still processing everything.]
(What the, the stars is going on.)
"Myself and my bonded are just taking a trip together! A little, 'date' you could say~" (Jinn giggled into its hand.)
"YEAH! 'Cause you OWE me, Jinny!" (Nebby pouted and teased their bonded.) "With the whole timey freezy timey loopy thing?"
"Y-yes, ah, I, did. . . A-anyway! What about you two!"
[You squint.] "Don't you know?"
"It's called being POLITE, Loopert!" [Nebby stuck their tongue out.] "YEAH I remember that cute widdle nickname, heheh."
[STARS.] "Fine! Just, we're on a date too. I wanted a nice, relaxing day at the fair. Clearly that's not what the Universe had in mind!" [You say, momentarily forgetting just who you were talking to.]
"Oh no, your day will be far from spoiled, dear." [Another small giggle from Jinn.] "It's your day with Isabeau. You all like him, don't you?"
"YEAH!! You and everyone in that head of yours!!" [Nebby interrupts.] "All uh, one.. Two.. Seve-"
"Don't spoil it, love!" [Jinn bapped Nebby on the head.] "Let the mortals figure that out by themselfs!"
"I- wait." [Seven-]
"Would you like to go on a walk with us, you two?" [Jinn interrupts.] "We would enjoy the company.
". . That sounds good to me!" [Isa finally speaks up again. His expression was one you had never seen before; some mix of horror, curiosity, confusion, and disbelief.] "Double date with two gods? Why not!"
"Dawww Zaza!! That's suuuch a good idea!!" [Nebby was still flapping in glee.] "Y'get all those confused thoughts outta your head yet?"
"Uh, I-"
"Didn't think so!! That's okay c'mon lets go!!!" [Nebby interrupted Isa, then grabbed Jinns hand and started excitedly pulling it in a new direction.]
[Despite your absolute disgust and horror, you were compelled to follow. Isa holding your hand. You look up, he looks pale as a ghost.] ". . . Are you. ."
"The Change God knows about me?" [Oh he was deffinatly not over any of this.]
"I, y-yeah."
"The Change God is dating your god and knows about me?"
"It's okay, just get it out of your system."
". . . . . . Okay!" [He laughed nervously.] "I'll try and be normal about all this!"
"Stars, my wonderful Red Gaint you have no need to be normal about THIS!"
"OH!!!" [Nebby pointed excitedly at one stall.] "Let's look at that one!!"
[They ran over, Jinn, and by extention you both, running to catch up. Nebby had found a setup from a craftsman who was showing off all kinds of nicknacks. Statues, masks, clothes, a scouple swords, art, the style looked familiar.]
"This is SO COOL!!!" [Nebby was taking in every little detail, and started talking to the person running the stand. Oh if only they knew just who Nebby was.]
"It is pretty good craftsmanship. . ." [Isabeau, naturally, had gravitated to some of the clothes, you could have sworn the style was familiar.]
[You wander over to the few swords on display, they were-]
"A curved Ka Buan blade!" <Your eye widened.> "And that's Ka Buan calligraphy, did you make these?"
"Aye!" <The Craftsman answered.> "Ma 'Nan was from Ka Bue and they taught me a lot and I kept it up!"
<You beamed like you hadn't before, looking over the arts and crafts. Such intricate and delicate work, masks with little details that a fine eye was needed for. You joined Isabeau in admiring the clothes, Nebby looking at the small statues, Jinn at admiring the art. You were too absorbed in admiration to remember just who you were next to.>
[?!?!?!?!?!??!?!!???!]
<Ah. Sorry.>
"Everything alright, both of you?" <Jinn asked. It took you a second to realize it's talking to you.>
". . Yes." <You looked away. Take front back, Loop, please.>
[Of course~] "Just got surprised, is all~"
"I understand. . ." [The two of you stood quiet. You look back to see Isa was getting over his shock, since he was talking casually with Nebby.]
<. . .>
[. . .] "Jinn. . . Why."
"Why? Why what?"
"You know why."
". . . I'm. . ." [It looked at you for a moment, then away.] ". . . I have no excuse, Loop. I'm. . . I'm sorry."
<What.>
[What.]
[From the back of your mind, you could hear echoes of others saying that one, simple word.]
". . ." <It, took Jinn a moment to continue.> ". . . I am bound as a God to grant any wish if done right. And all I remember of our home is that whatever wish I granted to cause. . . That, was one where there was no other option."
"What you remember?" [Shouldn't it-]
"No. I don't." [It looked, sad.] "My memory of it is gone. And many of those who followed me no longer do. . . Do you know a gods existence is tied to those who believe in them?"
". . . No. . ?" [Your eye widens.] "Then, wouldn't that. . ."
"Oh they still believed." [Jinn nodded.] "But they knew not that they did. Directionless, nameless. If it weren't for the strong cultural ties to Vaugarde, I would be naught but dust. . ."
". . ." <Your mind was clicking things into place.> ". . . Let me guess. After all of that, it left your skills of wishmaking in tatters?"
<You glance at it and it has its head in its shoulders, embarrassed?> ". . . . Y-yes, that, yes. . ."
"Buuuuut it's getting better!!" [In a flash Nebby was back by Jinns side nuzzling up to it. It had a statue from The Craftsman in their hand.] "Sooooo much better considering the LAST few wishes!!"
"I-it wasn't for anything so major!" [It reassures your horrified face.] "I, I-I am trying my best to not cause, more grief."
"Right. . ." [You think back to Wren and his wish, Vixul, Polaris-]
"Oh I'll keep him in mind!" [Jinn interupted your thoughts, smiling.] "All of them, actually. You'll see them again in time."
". . . . ." <You sigh.> "It's. . . Fine."
"Hey Loop!" <Isa calls to you, he was looking at the sword. You lift up your eyepatch.> "O-oh- Null you weeeere interested in these?"
"Maybe. . ." <You go back to the swords, one of them called out to you. You turned to The Craftsman.> "May I pick it up. . Thank you." <At their nod, you pick up the sword. Or TRY to.>
"Too heavy?" <Isa says at you struggling a little.>
"Blind it all-" <You scowled, why did this body have to be so, frail. So weak. So. . . No, it had some of its own upsides, at least. But. . .> ". . . Where it not for the weight, and price, I'd. . ."
<Isabeau glances from you, then to the duo of gods, then back, to you.> "I mean, if-"
"Shall we move on?" [Jinn stepped forward and out of the stall without waiting for an answer. You set the sword down and followed, of course.]
[It stops right outside of the stall, and turns back to you. You squint.] "What are y-"
[It cuts you off with a hug.]
[It's, it's an impossibly warm, comfortable hug. A hug that felt like one only a parent could give. One that, that was saved for those who needed it most. The kind of hug that could fix a person. . .]
"I'm. . . So proud of you, Loop."
[The words hit you stronger than any of the Kings attacks.]
[. . . It lets you go, and curtsies.] "Even with my blunders, you did so, so well, I'm proud of you."
"Uh huh!!!" [You felt Nebby punch your shoulder, then walked to Jinns side.] "And look at you now!!! Going on a DATE!!! You!! On a date!!!"
"Even sharing a body as you are, you're still finding ways to survive, no, thrive."
"Thrive is right!! You should have fun while you're here!! Maybe ask your new boyfriend about Vaugardian Culture!"
[They both giggle at that, what? What does THAT mean?!? You stared at them both in disbelief. The God of Change and Entropy, time, and decay. The God of the Universe, of everything that ever was, and ever will be. . . And they're. . . You're, you're crying. Isabeau's at your side, taking your hand.]
". . . . Until next time." Take care, Siffrin.
"Bye bye!! See you around!!" I'll be watching, Siffy ♡⸜(ˆᗜˆ˵ )⸝♡
[In a blink, they dissapeared. The crowds around you moving on like nothing ever happened. You were left standing there, trying to understand what, just, happened. . .]
". . . . I uh. . ." [Isa starts, then coughs into a hand.] ". . . Heading back time?"
"Y-yes please." [You mumble, the two of you heading off-]
"Aye!! You two wait up!!" <You turn, The Craftsman had walked up to you and shoved that sword into your arms.> "Can't be forgetting this, aye? Those friends of yours got it for ya!"
<What. The Craftsman walked back to the stall and now you were left dumbfounded. They, BOUGHT it for you?!?>
[Weren't we struggling to lift it earlier???]
<I- You're holding the sword easier. You unsheeth the blade a little and, no, it's a real sword. A well crafted, well made sword of steel yet, it was, light.>
<You look up at Isabeau, squinting. He's looking away.>
". . . Isabeau?"
"Y-yes, Null?"
"Did you make a wish?"
"N-no!! No I didn't- I, uh-" <His head sinks down.> "I-Iuh, just, asked, N-nebbyforafavor--"
". . . . . . ."
[He's gone mad, how could-]
<You walk up to him and tug on his shirt untill you're face to face.> "If you wanted to get my attention, Isabeau, a sword is the perfect gift."
<You give him a small kiss, then let go. You can see his mind break in real time. You take his hand in one of yours, your new weapon in the other, and head back to the inn.>
[. . . You got the AIRY KATANA!]
[Lowers speed, increses attack, and gives a chance to reflect some attacks!]

social mechanics in RPGs
not a metaphor this time
so. a comment prompted by seeing this float by the dash.
some TTRPG mechanics are designed to abstract over something. you don't want to intricately simulate climbing a wall so you make a mechanic that says 'roll your Climbing Up Shit number and see if you get up the wall in time' (or whatever the stakes may be). any time you need to climb a wall, you just roll one die, and done. maybe offer a little description.
some TTRPG mechanics are designed to draw the game towards the thing they're simulating and make it a focus. these rules might be elaborate, intricate subsystems - the combat rules in D&D being the archetypal example. particularly in later editions, D&D is really interested in combat, it wants to have an elaborate tactical sim where you're juggling different resources to gain an advantage, it wants combat to take up a lot of game time.
in D&D the combat rules are largely self-referential (i.e. game constructs interacting with game constructs) and don't leave a lot of room to determine things by pure narrative logic, so the system needs to have enough depth to carry that. some systems, such as The King Is Dead, structure nearly every interaction.
other TTRPG systems leave more to player improv. there are various frameworks to account for the interface between the fuzzy narrative game world and the hard, procedural, mechanical one. PbtA has its 'moves', which trigger based on conditions to push the narrative in a certain direction. OSR games like to say 'rulings over rules', where the rulebook is silent on a subject and the GM makes a call on the spot based on the narrative situation. exactly what qualifies as 'going aggro', or whether your gambit is feasible and what dice you should role, is a judgement call.
exactly what should be precisely litigated by a rulebook and what should be left to the improvisation of the players, shaped by various vague prompts, is a huge part of the art of TTRPG design. it depends a lot on the group as well.
I think when it comes to social situations in RPGs, it is easy to get lost in these ambiguities. 5e D&D has three numbers on your character sheet called Deception, Persuasion and Intimidation. (in 3.5e the first two were instead called Diplomacy and Bluff). exactly when you should roll these numbers, and how it interacts with the fiction, is left to the discretion of the group.
the stereotypical "I roll to seduce" could be one approach, an approach where the dice system completely abstracts over social encounters - pretty boring. but equally there is the approach where you roleplay a conversation, and after a certain amount of back and forth, the DM declares 'OK, role me a Deception check' and evolves the fiction accordingly - now you're using it a lot more like a PbtA move, pushing the course of events down bifurcating paths at specific moments, and otherwise pursuing free improvised roleplay. however, from the numbers-and-dice side of things, this looks exactly the same.
some games like Burning Wheel offer a conversation system of comparable complexity to its battle system, designed for tense debate-like confrontations. it has something like a dozen actions - e.g. you can make a Point, Obfuscate, or make a verbal Feint, just as in combat you can Attack, Push or Disarm. Is this to Burning Wheel's advantage? it worked pretty well the one time I played it like 10+ years ago, but I also had a very talented GM who could probably have staged a very convincing debate scene regardless. however, the system provided structure, and prompts (how do I make a point? how do I obfuscate?), so it would surely have played out differently without it. it certainly led to a very intense and fun moment of roleplaying where I had to step out onto the 'stage', which has honestly informed me in TTRPGs ever since.
that said, a lot of the time, the best system for adjudicating social situations is literally just to roleplay it out and make a decision - 'what is this character feeling', 'what that character would say'. no mechanical abstraction can beat the human mind when it comes to simulating human beings. that is the unique advantage of TTRPGs as a medium, which no computer or board game can match! don't throw it away lightly.
the problem for a lot of discussions of RPG design is that how the group handles social situations at the table - what they say and when, when they call for dice - is something that depends a lot on the specific group dynamic, rather than something that can effectively be engineered by a rulebook. like many aspects of RPG practice it is something you learn by doing it and watching other players, not by reading about it in a book. you can try pretty hard - Apocalypse World and cousins are statements of a paradigm as much as anything, most trad games have pages and pages of GM advice - but that's not the same thing.
what makes D&D D&D, what makes indie story games indie story games, are their various play cultures, their habits and traditions - and the book is only part of it.
some players might find the prompts given by the notional buttons that say 'persuade', 'deceive' and 'intimidate' (or equally 'go aggro', 'seduce or manipulate' etc.) to be useful pushes in the right direction to play a highly social character, especially if they feel shy or awkward in life. others might find these limited options constraining, or simply irrelevant. or they might find a way to make them fit the rhythms of their group.
thing is, though, it's highly contextual and you aren't going to solve it forever by turning it into an argument about which is the best book-product-tribe to belong to.

I am curious of your opinions on the different ship dynamics in the coven (can be platonic or romantic)
Hi anon! Thanks for the ask (I'm getting so many--read: 2--asks lately! I love it!).
I think Agatha All Along is such a strong ensemble show even when its focus is very specific, so each dynamic (especially if Agatha's in there) has something cool to offer.
Going off of Agatha, I adore how each coven member reflects aspects of her and brings out different facets of her. For example, both Lilia and Agatha serve as the older mentors of the group--Lilia for witch culture and Agatha for practical leadership. Jen is a peer, and that's fun--Agatha rarely is faced with someone who carries herself at the same level as her. Billy and Alice are the younger witches a very small, in-denial part of Agatha wants to protect. I think if I were to write more platonic relationships for this show, I'd look here first.
Romantically--look, I am a very soft writer. However, my approach to romantic relationships actually isn't very romantic. I'm less stuck on OTPs and more kind of down for anything as long as I get to explore a cool dynamic. (This is perhaps why I adore Rio and Agatha in the show but generally don't write for them--what we got of their dynamic in canon mostly satisfied me, and I don't feel like I have that much to add.) That said, I have a soft spot for Rio/Alice, Jen/Alice intrigues me, and I'm morbidly fascinated by the idea of an Agatha/Jen/Rio threesome, which would either fail miserably or be the most fantastic, self-destructive, messy encounter ever.

Do you have any locations that you really want to visit to look for fossils? A fossil bucket list, if you will
😳 all over the PNW (chuckanut formation especially, i think that stuff is neat), but also areas of colorado and wyoming for florissant and green river formation stuff.. love me some plants
i’ve actually been to the mazon creek fm!! i got to collect a few concretions and crack them open, was very fun !! no tully monster though 😔 but i’d like more inverts from there…
i’d like to comb the oregon coast again, too!! i went earlier this year and found a tiny piece of bone that i promptly lost. (also many shells from the astoria formation) and then someone that went a week later found a DESMOSTYLIAN TOOTH ATTACHED TO JAW BONE which is literally a dream find for me 😭😭😭
i’d also like to visit the menefee formation of new mexico! it’s been a focus of some research for a while now and i’ve met some people working on it (mesa verde national park has a lot of fossils from that fm, very neat place and if u ask they have info) and there’s more cool stuff to come !!!
lastly… probably the chinle of AZ/NM or some triassic dockum group stuff in texas. i’d looooove to find some of that iconic rainbow petrified wood!
i don’t know enough about geology elsewhere to really say much 🫣 EXCEPT i wanna visit the gobi desert of mongolia bc the fossils there... exquisite

Niche gender facts for my vampires selfship:
Gabrielle is a she/her lesbian man. There is a measure of bigender at work, but mostly she's just a man. I also headcanon her as having bad dysphoria, especially in sexual situations.
Lestat genuinely identifies as whichever gender you're attracted to, but also feels attached to the idea of being a 'man who is sometimes a woman,' with an emphasis on the masculinity as the through-line.
My self insert is constantly trying to push that line because they just love Lestat's femme vibes. They're like that with all of the vampires around them, trying to yank them into the genderfuck femme presentation that they themself inhabit. Not everyone reacts well to it, but my self-insert is unphased.
Gabrielle doesn't understand Lestat's urge to play with gender: if she could be 'just a man,' then she would, but it's not an option for her. Whereas Lestat very consciously enters into alternate gender spaces, and it rubs Gabrielle the wrong way sometimes, like he's 'giving up' something that he doesn't value enough.
Armand has a relationship with gender that is complicated by the age he was turned: identifying as a boy first and an adult gender second.
Both Armand and my self-insert view gender as a tool to be wielded: Armand will refer to me with different pronouns depending on how he wishes me to be perceived, and I dress mostly for the same effect: sometimes I want to be seen as a feminine object, and other times as a masculine object. (I never think of clothing related to myself as a sentient/animate creature, only the appearance on the surface, which is depersonalized into a mannequin, doll, or mask- part of why there's a theme in this selfship of other people choosing my clothes for me)
Daniel identifies as a man but does dabble in crossdressing but distinctly as a 'man in a dress' category. Relates to it more in terms of humiliation rather than celebration.
Louis's relationship with genderplay is far more about giving himself space for a break from masculine gender performance: a space to stretch out from the rigidity that he's kept himself in. He still does identify as a man, but having a chance to be a man who is treated as a woman or spoken of with feminine terms is something that speaks very deeply to his struggle with 'sufficient masculinity.'

Pile 1: The Rose
A card to represent you: The Chariot
One funny thing when I was shuffling this deck was that this card came out tumbling. It was like.. Upright, reverse, upright again. I’m taking this as a sign. You like taking the wheel. You’ve been through the ups and downs as you journey ahead, sometimes lacking direction, learning self-discipline throughout the process, learning the importance of strength and will, finding balance, and driving to where you are right now. There’s this determination that you’ve gained from past experience, and you’re still driving ahead. A word of advice is to be aware of your own focus level, and to take a rest when you’re tired. The journey of life ahead is long, and it’s always alright to take a break now and then. For some reason, I also feel some of you may be travelling right now, or intend to travel in the future. Make sure to prepare a proper itinerary and have emergency numbers saved! 
1. What is my role here on earth? - The High Priestess
First word I’m picking up is healing. You’re the person who answers to the cries of help, being the Universe’s hands in providing aid to those who pray for it, to be that gentle beauty without losing your thorns. You’re called to be the healing energy, to be the kindness that people need but may or may not deserve. Not to put a burden on you, but you probably tend to be kind and subconsciously heal or watch over those who need your help, even strangers, and even people who do not deserve those kindness. (There’s this nagging behind my head that reminds me of the people in Gotham who did nothing yet yells for help/salvation, instead of fighting and protecting their “loved” ones.)
2. Have I achieved it? - The Fool
You’re only starting on this journey. Or maybe have yet to start on this journey. You probably realised this uhhh ability of yours very recently, or have only decided to really start doing something on it. See, realising this ability/skill doesn’t mean you have to do something about it. You may realise your skill for art but not continue cultivating that skill. It’s the same. You’ve probably stopped all those questions and try to take out that first step to do it. You’re killing your doubt step by step, betting in yourself and trusting in yourself to do something entirely new. (Yes, ITZY’s Bet On Me is playing as I write this.)
3. How to achieve it? - The Sun
There are so many things embodied in this card: brightness, hope, ray of hope, and more to come. What I’m feeling from this is mainly warmth, asking you to just be this Sun, to shine just as you are. It’s gonna sound weird but imagine healing rays? I’m cringing and having a weird face as I type this out. But yeah, just be who you are, to continue doing what you do. Just know that your presence is like a walking energy-purifier, lifting up the spirits even by smiling to strangers or wishing them a good day. You can attempt to try doing something else, for example, being more active in volunteer work in nursing homes and shelters, playing a part in activist activities, or even taking up counselling courses to help people out. These are only some of the many ways that are available. Most importantly is that you do kindness with kindness, not to have any ulterior motives behind them.
4. Why do I need to do it? - Seven of Wands rx
The world is changing, more and more people are experiencing a feeling of defeat and overwhelmingness, including you. All are called to make a change, and this is your part in the pledge to make a change. We have arrived at a time of change, and actions need to be taken. People have been fighting among themselves, you may even have been having conflicting thoughts and contradicting beliefs. Peace has been taken away, and instead of fighting to get back that same peace, it’s time to recreate a new peace that will work for this new world. A new structure is needed, and you’re one of those first few people who are tasked to build things anew again.
5. What can I learn from it? - King of Pentacles rx
What you’ll be learning is not only based on what you’ve experienced, but from what you’ve observed. You saw the fall of those who have been obsessed with earthly riches, those who have been paying attention to the materialistic realm, and have forgotten to nourish their soul and mental energy. The downfall was harsh and painful, reminding you that balance is needed in every aspect. From there, you’re gonna continue spreading kindness, letting the scars of the past be a reminder of what has happened, and how you’re gonna redirect the course of your energy.
6. How am I supposed to transform from it? - Knight of Pentacles rx
Self-discipline will take you to a lot of places, and will also be able to take you to places that you thought you never would’ve reached. This gift of yours, this purpose of your is not to let you be more spiritual, but to be more down to earth. You’re supposed to be the bridge between the spiritual themes with the practical, existing world we’re living in right now.  From this, you’ll also be able to get connected to your roots, your family, your ancestry, even get connected to your race. I hope I do not get into trouble with how I phrase myself here hshshs. But y’know how colonialism has affected a lot of things, like religion and even language. I don’t quite remember where I heard it, but Tagalog or Filipino, languages of the Philippines, have Spanish influence in it. Or how Christianity kinda replaced the other folk religions with how it’s being brought in. So yeah, you’ll need to do the dissection to find out which was the original, which you wanna connect with. You define your own roots, and you take charge of it.
7. What is the self-fulfilment level? - The Tower
Whilst you dream, you clear your mind of all negativity and your spirit will be refreshed. With that, you’ll charge ahead, doing everything you can until you feel that you’ve changed the world. It sounds really idealistic, but if you need to remember the catastrophic energy that The Tower brings. The change is not gonna be small, and you can’t do it alone. You’ll work ahead, without knowing how long it’ll take. You then make friends on the way, working towards the same goal but with different tasks, slowly but steadily paving and painting a new path. Just like the straw that breaks the camel’s back, your tiniest effort shatters the restrictive and unhelpful rules that were oppressing the people.  That’s what you’re meant to be, that’s what you can achieve. But I need to remind you that this self-fulfilment level differs for everyone. One can feel content by doing small things, while some want the satisfaction that comes with doing great things. They are all valid and powerful acts in their own ways, and no one can deny the effort and effect that comes with it.
Overall energy: The Fool, Ace of Pentacles
Overall, you’re called to take actions to start a new chapter of your life. You’re the main character of your own story, you’re the one who decides how you want to paint your journey. However, whatever that you’re intending to do, remember to not do it alone. A solo trip is fun, but a journey? It’s best to have people joining your cause to support each other. Remember that there are other animals in The Fool, cuz one is  a guide and the other is a guard/support. The energy of rebirth and transformation comes heavily in this pile, and sometimes, it can destroy you in the process. Proceed with caution and with faith. We are praying for you as you travel.

Pile 2: The Mirror
A card to represent you: The Sun
You attempt to be a person to bring warmth to people around you. The Sun shines warm lights, and that’s something you enjoy as well. But sometimes, when anger gets hold of you, you tend to burn people around you, accidentally or on purpose. You don’t really use the reason “I didn’t mean to”, because if you injure people, you totally mean it. It’s probably due to them crossing your boundaries repeatedly, and you didn’t want to hold back any longer. But still, the card wants to remind you of who you wanted to be. Do not let anger cloud the true you. Let out that anger at the right person, and go back to who you are, the warm and accepting you.
1. What is my role here on earth? - Judgement rx
I don’t really wanna use the word here but you’re called to learn the karmic lessons in the past, may it be the current past or your past lives. There are times that you hold on to your values, yet the world continues to challenge you, which may have made you question what is the meaning of you being here, what do you need to do to get out of this cycle of unfairness. Instead of fighting it, it’s time for you to discard the mask of pride that you’ve been wearing, and accept that unfairness is a part of life that you need to go through. Once there's acceptance, you can build a new structure (structure on how you go through problems, or building up new values or habits, or anything else that can help you). Humility is what you need. And stay away from humiliation. These are two very different things. People taking credit over what you do is… Something you need to be aware of. But. If there are people out there who take credit over what you do yet accuse you of copying or shit like that? Fight.
2. Have I achieved it? - Seven of Pentacles
This is something that will take long to achieve it, but you’re still on the way. You probably have noticed this… Thing? That things have been unfair and that it is too tiring to live, and you’re somehow somewhat struggling through life. Sure, there are times that are fun, but you know that fun does not last long and once it’s time, you continue crashing the waves and pressure life gives you.  You feel like you’ve been doing this forever, and things just don’t seem that they are turning better. Have faith that it will. Belief is a skill that comes with birth, you just need to hold on to it, believing that things will resolve in the end. Which it will. The struggles will become lighter eventually, because hard work and effort pays off.
3. How to achieve it? - The Magician rx
There are some other untapped talents in you, and it’s time for you to unlock them. You need to be able to find them and develop them. It’s not something you can easily access to, but it’s something you’ll need to practise and to get good at, and then to use them wisely. This untapped skill of yours may be something spiritually related, with you standing in between humanity and spirituality. You need to be aware to not fall into people’s traps, and to make sure that you do not manipulate others in the process. I feel that this pile may have some talents or skills in manipulation and deception (either you’re aware or not), but you can choose to not do so. Remember, if you choose to do so, there will be more things that you’ll lose. The Magician talks about alchemy, where you use one thing to exchange for another of equal value. 
4. Why do I need to do it? - Nine of Wands
There’s a resilience that you need to learn, encouraging you to pay attention to your rights, believe in yourself and defend your position or property. It is time to gather your experiences and life lessons, to reflect on what life has shown you. There’s this hint of spirituality that you’re also called to evaluate - to see what it has to offer in your life, to see how you can use this to make it another life lesson/asset of yours. You need to remember that the process of learning can be difficult and challenging, but you can also make it fun, make it lighter. Unlike in school, where you learn without passion (for most people), you are now learning new things because you’re interested in it. So yeah, learn through playing and experimenting, celebrate each growth and resilience you’ve unlocked. I hope I’m making sense here.
5. What can I learn from it? - Four of Cups
I doubt that many who pick this pile are happy with meditation, but this is one thing you’ll be learning. There’s a need to reevaluate yourself, and realigning values within you. I’m having some difficulties in forming my words, because it feels like your pile already knows about this, but in some sense, refuse to do this, refuse to acknowledge this. You’ve probably heard a lot of this kinda talk, where you need to do this and that to achieve that enlightenment. You really didn’t like that, and you still don’t like it.  Yet, this is needed. You need to go through a long while of silence, a time of reflection, to make changes and to be reborn again. It’s difficult, you may cry again and again, because you’ve been in darkness for so long, slowly giving up on whatever ways are out there. Know that it can’t be any darker than this, and it’s also a chance for you to recognise light, and to embrace that light.
6. How am I supposed to transform from it? - Five of Cups rx
You have to accept pain has been crucial in your growth, and walk away from it. It’s time for you to move on, and you’ll find yourself to be more… Accepting? Acceptance is a huge theme in your reading, where you acknowledge that this has happened, and you accept it, and then move on with life. As long as you accept something has happened, that weight will be slowly lifted away from your shoulders. You won’t be able to move when you’ve been crushed by all those unhappiness (or even happiness) that you’ve been holding onto. Focus on wholeness, learn how to take things up and put them down, continue on with the journey of letting go.
7. What is the self-fulfilment level? - The Hierophant
The Hierophant is often related to religion, and it being paired with spirituality speaks even more so. I’m not saying that achieving enlightenment (don’t mistake it with the Buddhist term, please) IS fulfilling for you, but it is one step to achieve what you wanted - release. Life’s burdens have been pulling this pile down, and what you want the most is release, release from responsibilities; release from fears; release from expectations; release from this endless cycle that has been trapping you. You’ll need to invite in a new thought to be released from what has been tying you down, and it’s time for you to be reborn again.
Overall energy: The Lovers, Eight of Cups
There are times where you need to make decisions between two choices that were offered to you. Oftentimes, you want to pick neither, but life decides it for you anyways. Either paths will lead you to where you’re meant to go, so why not stand still for now and listen to your life? Looking at it may be distracting, as there are a lot of worries and neon lights around. Make a cup of drink, sit down, put on your earphones and play some soft music. You might be able to hear something.  One thing I have to mention is that there’s a heavy Pluto and karmic energy I’m sensing from here. It’s like… A huge circle, a cycle, where things happen again and again. You’ll need time (and a lot of time) to complete this cycle, only then you can break free from there. Some may feel dejected, but do remember that every step you’re taking right now is bringing you closer to the end. The Mirror is also here for you to reflect, to see who you are, and to see who you are Inside.  Make this promise that you’ll be kind to yourself, appreciate each step that you’re taking and celebrate the small wins.

A card to represent you: The World
This pile is giving me a very comforting and secured energy. Paired with this card, those who picked this pile may have completed a project, or have achieved one of their goals in life, or are close to closing an existing project with success. You may also be one of the fixed signs (Aquarius, Taurus, Leo, Scorpio) or have them in your personal planets.  Another thing I’m picking up is that some of you may be looking out for new projects to start when you haven’t reached the end of the current project. Take a step back, do not rush into things quickly. Sure, an end speaks of a new beginning, but you need time to plan a proper project and to recuperate from the exhaustion of the previous project.
1. What is my role here on earth? - Three of Swords rx
I’m seeing more of a guide here. You have been through difficulties in life, and from those, you’ve gained experiences, insights, knowledge and wisdom. With that, you’re tasked to guide the rest who are going through a hard time this round. It’s difficult because kindness isn’t something everyone is equipped with, and for you, especially, you may find it a lil bitter. This is where you challenge yourself to step outside of your comfort zone, to try something that you’ve never thought of, or even detest. But you gotta do it as the path you step on is the road to growth and illumination.
2. Have I achieved it? - Knight of Wands
You're charging towards it, albeit a lil reckless. You do have the passion in it, and you’re more than willing to be the change, even wishing that the change is something that can change the world. You can’t wait to experience the storm and thunder, wanting to feel the same scale of impact.  However, you need to remember that passion can dissipate quickly, like how it started. There might be transits in your life, maybe Mars is transiting one of your personal planets right now, which gives you that impulse of wanting to achieve something. You are in control of your response, but the actions of other people and events are not. Do not be dejected when people reject you, but continue ahead without that recklessness.

You will be able to achieve it by going through defeats. You’re one who learns through actual defeats, the pain, remembering the falls of life through your body and soul. From there, only then you can compile those you’ve learnt and observed into a book, for your own and other’s references. At this phase, you may feel pulled between one path or another, and pushed to make a decision. It can be quite tense, but don’t avoid it. These tense situations build your strength, getting you ready to fly. Do not bend; do not submit defeat, continue ahead to chase after your ideals. Let that resolution and will to be your light.
4. Why do I need to do it? - Two of Wands rx
There’s a fear in you, not knowing what you are meant to achieve. This could be a personal goal for you to focus throughout your lifetime, building yourself up, giving you an unnamed courage to find your inner power. I feel that you may have subconsciously (or maybe consciously) compared yourself to people around you, wondering where in life you are, what you’re meant to do. To counter that, you need to set a personal goal, to have some sort of inner alignment, and figure out what you want to achieve. Do you want to appear as a confidant people turn to? Are you keen on sharing thoughts and experiences to make people’s lives a lil bit easier? Try taking a notebook and writing your goals down, and see what you need to do, or what you should stop doing to achieve that. It’s time that you activate a certain switch in you to be that fire (either to warm or to destroy. It’s up to you).
5. What can I learn from it? - The Hierophant, Ace of Pentacles
I feel that you may be even able to start something, maybe a support group or a club, especially in a religious context. There’s some form of finances involved in it, so yeah, maybe a support group where you guide others, and others guide the others, and let the leaves of the tree expand. Finances will be involved in terms that there are donations coming in, which you may use to assist those who are financially needy.  You’ll be able to accept this new side of yours, and be more willing to reach out your hands because you could physically see how this chain of kindness continues on, holding on more hope that things can actually change for the better.
6. How am I supposed to transform from it? - Judgement
It is time for you to reevaluate your life, what meanings you want to fix to your life. There may be a calling to change your life or open your heart to new possibilities, to new responsibilities or a new field of work. The horn in this card symbolises that there may be a wake-up call from the world around you, telling you that it’s time to stop being in your head, to see the world for who it is, and how you’re supposed to make changes, or answer to those changes. Change can refer to something tangible and immediate, or the whole way one sees life. In fact, you may have already changed without realising it.
7. What is the self-fulfilment level? - Five of Cups rx
There’s a release from pain and suffering. The pain and suffering does not necessarily mean something physical, but something that’s more on a spiritual level. Y’know how sometimes one can feel… Empty and blank? That. That is actually suffering on a spiritual level, because you have no direction, no guidance, and sometimes that could feel suffocating. Some out there could just go along with life even though they have no idea what to do, and it’s cuz their direction of life is to go along with what the journey has to offer. What you’re doing right now is just standing there and looking blankly to where your eyes are looking, which increases the weight in your chest and legs.  Through this, you’ll be able to find a proper direction and the awakening that comes with it will elevate you. Walking again after you’ve been standing so long will be uncomfortable at first, but take small and steady steps. You’ll find yourself running again soon.
Overall energy: The Star, Four of Swords
This reading talks about hope and rest, and how they come hand in hand. I felt a weight on my chest as I was typing the self-fulfilment part, because of how heavy the desperation and feeling of loss is. Know that The Star is shining a gentle ray of hope, consoling you that things will be better. The Star may not be visible all the time, especially in the daylight. But know that she is always there, and you can hear her whispers in the night, when you think you’re about to fall. Be kind to yourself and share your beauty as well as knowledge with those around you. But remember to take rests as well. You can’t afford to do much when you’re having a burnout. It’s alright to fall, but remember to rest and stand up again. Your passion is your greatest drive, go for it.

Pile 4: The Word
A card to represent you: The Magician rx
I feel like you’re currently standing in the middle of two different things, two very different and distinct fields (like science vs arts, realism vs spirituality), not knowing where to head to. There’s some sort of pull from both of them and you’re feeling very, very torn.  However, remember that the Magician is someone that has a lot of skills, and has been acting as the bridge between the physical plane and the spiritual realm for a long time. You, also, have the skills to bridge between the various fields/things that are scattered across. As the bridge, you can see the connecting and overlapping points, and you can build out from there. You honour differences and expand.
1. What is my role here on earth? - Two of Swords rx
Your role is to take out the blinds that were covering the people’s eyes, including yours. You are called to stop them from hiding or shying away from the truth, making them see what is the truth, calling them to face reality. For some reason, I feel that you may have not been very liked at home due to this nature. Your parents may think that their reputation or status as parents should not be challenged, but you couldn’t care less about it. What you cared about was that justice and truth be upheld, and you won’t hesitate to rip anyone apart if they tried saying otherwise. This, in turn, has created quite a huge confrontation when you were growing up. But are you stopping there? No. You will continue your role of wake up call, but only once or twice. You’ve understood that there are always people out there who want to run away from the truth, and you’re not gonna waste your effort and time on them.
2. Have I achieved it? - The Chariot rx
You’re currently in a fallback. You took a step back to look at the options available and to reevaluate the situation. You realise that you were having a narrow goal and vision tunnel, which will cost a lot of meaningless sacrifice. You may have thought that it was okay to let your horses run without holding the reins, but now is not the time. You’re now evaluating and weighing the pros and cons, which are the items that you want to invest your time and energy on, finding out where your passion lies. A word of advice: Do not be afraid to try multiple things. Nothing is fixed in stone. Just like you may discover a new favourite dish later, you may also discover a new skill that is useful.
3. How to achieve it? - Page of Cups rx
First of all, you need to kill your doubts and fears. Fear is one main thing that’s stopping you from trying new things in different fields. There are always new things out there waiting for you to try, there are new opportunities that can’t wait to come to you. Being protective of your own energy is important, but you need to get out at times, to talk to people, to learn their ideas and train of thoughts, to see things from their point of view. This way, instead of tearing down the blinds covering their eyes, you’ll be able to verbally convince them to take the blinds down themselves, which is a much gentler way. Be honest and true, even to your fears. Accept them, and they might reward you with something special.
4. Why do I need to do it? - The Fool rx, Knight of Pentacles
I’m seeing some form of heavy responsibility here. You are not tasked to enjoy or to have fun, but to be like a defender, a protector, even a fighter or truth. Unlike The Fool, who goes on new journeys having fun, you are stationed at a place, guarding the gates, making sure those who enter are those who have earned it. This responsibility is not randomly placed on people, but it chooses those who vow to bear witness to the truth. Obligation is a word that’s also relevant here, where you’re also willing to bear this duty. Not sure if you’re doing this because you want the truth to be known or you just wanna spite people by forcing them to look at their wounds. It’s all up to you.
5. What can I learn from it? - Page of Wands
It’s like… A stone egg hatching. You thought that it was a stone, from its rough and hard exterior. But in reality, it’s actually a dragon egg. You learn that miracles happen in various forms, and that one really needs to think of the various possibilities and potentials you hold, even the ones that sound impossible. It’s alright to fail, it’s alright to fall, as long as you continue to climb up and attempt, you’ll be able to see the glory that’s arriving your way. Glory is a huge word but it is what it is. Stop losing focus and get that glory in your hands.
6. How am I supposed to transform from it? - Eight of Pentacles
You can transform into a gem by polishing and honing your skills. If I were to compare and describe, I’d say that you’re a jade as compared to other stones out there. It takes a skilled master to recognize the green under the hard and dusty exterior. Now, you’re that skilled master, and you’re gonna trim and polish the rock to reveal the gentle green in it. It can only be done little by little, and repeating the process until you see that gleam of green. And that’s what you’re gonna do. You’re gonna polish your skills day by day, night by night. Repetition of the task can sound mundane but that’s needed for you to be able to gain precision. This precision can be used in a lot of places, such as knowing the fine line of breaking the truth harshly or choosing to not say a single thing. Sometimes, people have their pride, and that precision will be able to help you to observe which line to cut, where to stop.
7. What is the self-fulfilment level? - Ten of Swords rx
Through this, I’d say that you’ll be able to let go of the past hurt that you have. There is a lot of anger and pain, especially when you recall how you were treated unfairly. You weren’t in the wrong, but you still get attacked. Now, you’ve learnt how to see things from their side and handle them properly, you’re now able to move on from that anger. It’s difficult, but at least, that chapter of your life is ending. You can close that book, and move on to the second book of your trilogy. Life’s a journey, make the rest of it worthwhile.
Overall energy: The Star, Seven of Cups (Strength hidden behind that keeps wanting to show up)
The Word in this picture is Love. Redirect that love to yourself, allow hope to shine on you, and accept that gleam of hope. Opportunities are coming, but you need to learn how to differentiate them from the illusions or wishful thinkings you’ve made. Fret not, you have the strength, the power to discern them according to your inner code of morale. You have what it takes, so practice courage each day. There’s a new you in the future that’s waiting for you. They seem eager, and prepared to take you onto a new journey, to see the new sceneries that come along with it.

Thanks for tagging me, I love being part of this community.
So let's start with the obvious, we know little from the canon, we often have to read between the lines and admit that some events can be distorted by the points of view of those who experienced them. As you said James and Sirius were inseparable and the brains of the group, the two of them planned and carried out the "pranks" real acts of bullying. In the canon Sirius clearly told Snape how to get past the sycamore and get to the Shack where Lupin was transforming. Let's skip over the vile attempt to blame Snape and focus on the facts, Sirius KNEW about Remus and therefore knew perfectly well what he was sending Snape against, infection or certain death.
I report the quote from the third book (I translate from Italian)
Lupin says: "... Sirius played a prank on him that almost killed him, a prank that involved me ...". Black let out a sneer. "He deserved it," he said mockingly. "Always poking around, trying to find out what we were doing... hoping to get ourselves expelled..."
So despite those who say Sirius has matured, after years he still laughs at having almost had Snape killed, but let's move on
"Sirius thought it would be... er... funny to tell Snape that all he had to do was press the knot in the trunk with a long stick and he could follow me. Well, of course Snape did... if he had managed to get this far, he would have encountered a fully grown werewolf..."
And now we come to the point, as far as Remus knows it was Sirius who told Snape how to get in and continues
"But your father, who had found out what Sirius had done, followed Snape and made him turn back, risking his own life... Snape, however, managed to see me, at the end of the tunnel. Dumbledore forbade him to tell the others what he had seen, but from then on he knew what I was..."
So according to Remus James he only found out later what Sirius had done. From Snape's point of view, however, the story is different and he himself confirms it shortly after:

So according to Remus James he only found out later what Sirius had done, he doesn't give us any further details and from MY POINT OF VIEW Remus is not reliable since he wasn't in the common room that night, he was in the hovel ready to transform. So I think his friends told him later what happened.

Precisely making James look like the hero of the situation. On the contrary, Severus who lived the story cannot know what happened before. In his mind, all three were accomplices of the “Prank”. According to Snape, James had cold feet at the last minute, but honestly how could he have known? Canonically we cannot have a certain answer, we can only interpret.

This is a very important quote because it implicitly indicates that James knew, but it is part of the Wizarding World tertiary canon, for me it seems canonical and would be enough to put an end to the discussion but if that were not enough, let’s continue.
Things could have gone in two ways:
Sirius acted impulsively seeing how he is also a character as an adult, he pushed Snape to go against the danger and then he must have told James with pride. However, his friend used a minimum of brain and understood that the situation could have become a disaster. Obviously he was not heroic, he did not do it to save Snape but to save his friends, and this is canon. If Remus had infected or killed Severus then he would have been condemned, Dumbledore would have ended up in trouble because he lied to everyone by admitting a werewolf and all the Marauders would have been discovered as illegal Animagus. So yes he did it to save his friends, not Snape.
Sirius and James thought of the "joke" together and Sirius carried it out (all behind Remus' back) but when the moment approached James had second thoughts and for the reasons listed above he intervened.
Personally it doesn't matter which of the two is the real one, James is not innocent in any case. I would also like to point out a fundamental point, unlike the fanfiction in which after the prank Remus distances himself from his friends and above all blames Sirius in the canon after a few months Lupin is peacefully with them after the OWLs and Sirius does not show the slightest regret, on the contrary He jokes about Remus being a werewolf and says he can't wait for the full moon.
None of them, even after years, shows any regret, Remus was told a version that was certainly distorted, Sirius laughs after years saying that Snape deserved it (of almost being killed) and James after a few months SA the Slytherin just out of boredom. No one took that fact seriously, there was no radical change in them, everyone played down the matter so yes in the minds of the Bullies what they did was not that serious.

I'm arguing with a snater convinced that James didn't know about the prank, He says James finds out about the prank at the last minute and goes quickly to save Snape.
If you answered yes, pls tell me why.
I'm convinced that he did know, James and Sirius were inseparable. It is impossible that he did not tell him. James probably thought it funny at the time, but as night drew nearer he saw the seriousness of what was gonna happen and the consequences and went to save Snape at the last moment.
I even sent him this quote

As I recall, there is no mention of a change of heart in the book. I don't know if he doesn't know how to read or what, but in the quote I sent him it's implied that James did know.

He sent me a quote from the book, which also does not specify that he did not know. It doesn't say when James HEARD or from who he hear about the prank. "went after" it doesn't say that he went Immediately after knowing it.
Like ok he heart it and went but, it does not specify when he found out or if he went immediately after he found out about the prank to save snape

this is suuuch a stretch but now that the wonderland sekai has a confirmed ocean and islands i ALMOST want them to accidentally sail into the empty sekai’s body of water and freak out.
if that’s even possible in the lore. idk i haven’t read a good portion of the vsinger events where they talk about the lore soooo
but like… think about it. after they finish the first round of world link events for all the units i have NO idea what they’re going to do with that event type. coincidentally the vsinger wl (estimated for august) is in line with the 4th anni, and it sort of makes sense that the sekais could potentially connect and lots of stuff happens before 5th anni (usually a good milestone if i’m going off bandori). the only good scenario i have in mind is yk… GROUP SHUFFLES! SEKAI COLLISIONS OR SOME SHIT!! MULTI GROUP COVERS which i know they said they weren’t going to do unless for special occasions but like??
and also im aware that pjsk as it is is actually doing pretty well without doing group shuffle covers and stuff like bandori (by this i mean like the general election special songs like catastrophe banquet) and each of the groups don’t actually NEED that connection with the other groups… but come on. it’d be neat.

#coffee bean gang#spider-man#I was almost asleep but now I’m thinking about how there isn’t one piece of media out there that checks all the boxes#of adapting Peter in college + the coffee bean gang + doesn’t downsize the group or combine characters#+ does everyone in a decent way even if it’s not strictly comic accurate#raimi trilogy is one of the only ones that heads pretty quickly into the college era and also involves more than just gwen or mj#and as much as I like the films it does not handle the three of them in a way that scratches the itch for me#I mean for one it’s only Peter Harry and MJ. I like those three arguably the most but man the dynamic isn’t the same#especially bc Tobey’s Peter is much more serious and quiet/awkward with negative charisma (affectionately but still.)#MJ is mixed w Gwen’s personality which was disappointing to me bc I like MJ’s weird and super vibrant personality#and Harry loses some of the ‘kind of a sweet guy but very VERY fucked up’ and relies too heavily on Harry becoming the goblin for revenge#I sound super critical of the Raimi versions qhwjrjwkr I DO like them I do but it feels like completely alternate interps of the characters#most focus on spider-man’s origin which I totally get but also. Peter’s most interesting arcs happen in college#that’s why everyone has to adapt them into the high school years#(which they can do bc Peter was largely friendless during that time and was still fighting some truly d-tier guys#in between the forming of the famous spidey rogue gallery)#I mean I wouldn’t even complain if they chose to do the high school years and actually DID those instead of pasting the college arcs on it#I haven’t watch the 90s show but I want to— does Harry exist in that one bc I know they took out Gwen#at the risk of sounding like That kind of tssm fan. the closest we got to that dream was that show#bc they WERE gonna follow it into Peter’s college years and you could see them setting the gang up#it still fell into the ‘everyone is a childhood friend’ thing so the characters could all be there but it’s one of the most bearable ones
