🚨Angst Warning🚨
I want to play around with Crocodile’s missing ring again... What if originally there was a ring there. (This is all under the premise that my timeline is accurate)
I could see Crocodile getting a bit "clingy" to Dragon. Like, they start bonding during a really tumultuous time for Crocodile. His entire plan and dream is crushed by losing that fight with WB. He's having to find himself again, learn how to cope without a whole ass hand, and find the motivation to keep being a pirate right after he got his warlord status. It's a major hit to his ego, and to be recovering in a new environment with people he may not fully trust.
Dragon is a strong and motivated leader. Dragon has conviction and a strong head on his shoulders. He could be a really stabilizing force for Crocodile during this time. I could see Crocodile being anxious to ever lose that support and trust. Especially with how bad his record with trust is, and with how low his self-esteem probably is at the time.
And after some time, a relationship starts to bloom between them. One that's a bit impulsive, and not the healthiest. But they are stuck in a honeymoon phase, and unwilling to let go of that for the reality of their situation. I could see Dragon using his time with Crocodile as an escape from the stressors of being a leader to a Revolution. After a long day of seeing the consequences of an oppressive system, but to be able to come home, and no longer be the figurehead with so much on his shoulders. To come back home and just be a normal man and cuddle with his love. Maybe Dragon gets a bit too comfortable, and impulsive. So, he gets a cheep and inconspicuous ring, and makes a promise with Crocodile to always be there for each other. (Sidenote, I can picture a cute scene where Dragon pulls out the ring, and Crocodile inspects it with a playful pout. "You couldn't have gotten me a big diamond?")
Crocodile is excited about this new aspect of his life, but he's getting a bit stir-crazy at the revolutionary army's base. The sea is calling to him, and he is starting to feel the confidence to get back out there again. But Crocodile is conflicted with leaving right after that promise. He loves Dragon, he doesn't want to disappoint him, or lose the access to the steady flow of support. So he chooses to stay a bit longer, to make a solid exist plan without losing Dragon. Something they both could approve of.
Crocodile finds out he's pregnant, the honeymoon phase starts to fall, and reality hits hard. When Dragon finds out, he's terrified. This could put him, and or, the revolution at risk. This could put Crocodile at risk. But he doesn't have the balls to think of ending the pregnancy, he has a selfish sense of responsibly, and a secret hope this could bloom into a happy family. He tells Crocodile he will take care of it, relocates him to a safe house, and tells no one.
But Dragon is a busy man, the face of a revolution, and it waits for no man. Sacrificing his personal priories came with the job description. No matter how much he wants to be with Crocodile to help care for him, his work comes first. So with his minimal discreet visits, to drop off supplies and do wellness checks, Crocodile is left very alone. Dragon isn't cruel to leave Crocodile without a midwife/doctor, but it's still Crocodile baring the full weight of it all with, in his eyes, barely a glance from Dragon.
Crocodile quickly starts to see the flaws in their relationship, and his view on Dragon completely flips. Dragon is now a pathetic, selfish man, who never truly loved him, and only wants to punish him. The pregnancy is a cruel joke Dragon set to up mock Crocodile. He was just about to leave for the sea, and try his hand at his dreams again. But Dragon's support was always a façade, he knew how vulnerable a position like this would put Crocodile in. It was the prefect scenario to keep Crocodile caged.
Crocodile becomes resentful, unstable, and very depressed. He has no love for the thing he carries. Crocodile can't look at his reflection anymore, as he doesn't recognize the person looking back. He feels wrong and can't do anything about it. The midwife becomes very concerned by how Crocodile has progressed, but does all they can to care for and support him during the pregnancy. When Dragon sees how bad things have gotten, he has to make a hard decision. He sets up a plan with the midwife that when Crocodile gives birth, they will give him a clean opportunity to break away from all of this.
Luffy is born premature, and silent. He is separated from Crocodile to be checked over by the midwife. When everything is settled down, Dragon tells Crocodile the baby didn't make it. With all the pain and emotion this news brings, Crocodile finally takes off the ring. Letting this part of his life die. Wani is dead, he is now Crocodile. He rushes off to cash in a favor with Iva, puts all of that behind him. But as a reminder of the pain trusting and loving someone can bring, he will never put another ring on that finger.
Oh no, you hurt me!
Jail, jail for Dragon for a thousand years! I can totally see Dragon making a decision he thinks is for the best for Crocodile, but never even considering asking him his opinion. Maybe Crocodile didn't want a clean cut and a dead baby. (Even though you do say he came to resent the baby.)
Since I'm a hurt/comfort lover, I'm of course always trying to find a way how to fix it but it's a really difficult situation for Crocodile, maybe even more than for Dragon because he knows that Luffy lives. He will know that Crocodile lives. He has long accepted that he will choose his cause over his personal happiness. (Even if that means giving up Crocodile and the baby and the comfort that their relationship had been.)
I'm also thinking about the Marineford reveal because as far as Crocodile knows his baby is dead. Who does he think Luffy is? Another of Dragon's children? He probably doesn't think that it could be his baby. Wah.

I solved a mystery that only I care about lol
ok so I have no clue what I'm doing and social media terrifies me. I will probably never touch this account again. why did I have to follow 3 algorithm-selected accounts to get into this website? I can actually name 3 people I'd want to follow on here and it's none of the people your fucking robot told me to follow. but hey, I feel like I have to post it here rather than my blogspot since nobody in the world actually uses blogspot and I want people to see this!
so anyway, there's this band out of the city of Milwaukee called Hero of a Hundred Fights. they dropped a couple CDs in the early 2000s and seem to have broken up, though all their members have been in bands since. that'll be important a little later. for now, Hero of a Hundred Fights are important to me on 2 levels:
I'm a Wisconsinite who has a tiny bit of an obsession with local history and art and really fuck with their weird mathy little corner of the 2000s hardcore scene
I'm a Faction Paradox fan and their 2001 EP The Remote, The Cold contains numerous references to the series! if you've heard of this EP before, it was probably in the context of some "music that references Faction Paradox" list or another
about #2... see, everyone already knows that track 2 is called Faction Paradox and track 3 is called The Celestis. we've all long since put together that the title is a reference to Lawrence Miles' Interference. but what about the lyrics? unfortunately, we don't know. they're not online, and the vocals are good, mind, but rather incoherent.
well, we didn't know. until I ordered a CD copy for like $8 lol. that's all it took! so here you go, the lyrics booklet plus some of the other artwork featured on the CD. artist Nick Slough did a great job on this art and it's a shame only the cover is widely available online (though that's hardly a problem unique to the physical version of this one album). turns out, this is some kinda concept album based on the Miles novel Interference. cool! really love the lyrics on Rope especially. "I need your blood to get this vessel running" and "my life was in your hands, I cut them off and now they're mine" are both raw as hell.
the cover art is pretty interesting. this album was recorded in 2000, released in 2001. the entire creative process occurred before the first standalone Faction Paradox release, The Book of the War. this means the album is entirely Doctor Who-based, not based on the FP series itself. it also means, if we assume the humanoid characters on the art are supposed to be the Remote, that this is the first-ever professional art depicting them!
disclaimer: the booklet lyrics don't 100% match up with what's said in the songs! it's mostly accurate but unfortunately there are some sections missing, some repeated bits that are only written once et al. that's all par for the course but I figured I'd mention it - especially in the case anybody wants to use this to transcribe the lyrics on Genius or some other site like that.
and while we're here, Hero 100 member William Zientara has been in a billion different bands, and I think he's probably the most responsible for the Doctor Who theme on this album. See, he was also in a short-lived band called Managara - named after a Doctor Who tie-in novel so obscure even I, owner of a complete set of Virgin New Adventures who spends my work breaks combing through digital copies of old fanzines, have only ever heard it discussed a handful of times. one of their songs is called Happiness Patrol. more recently, in 2021, he was in the band Fuiguirnet, who have a song called What Grows From the Seeds of Doom! which means Zientara has been randomly tossing Doctor Who references into songs from at least three different bands for twenty years!
so uhh without any further rambling here's the lyrics and art:

Tom Hiddleston Has Compared Mike Flanagan's The Life Of Chuck To One Of The Best Stephen King Adaptations, And I'm So Hyped
Writer/director Mike Flanagan has already made two of the all-time best Stephen King adaptations. In 2017, he worked his magic to bring us the horrifying character study that is Gerald’s Game, and two years later, he pulled off a cinematic miracle with Doctor Sleep – which has helped aleve the notorious animosity that the author feels toward Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining. Given this track record, it’s hard not to have exceptionally high expectations for his third King film, the upcoming The Life Of Chuck – and star Tom Hiddleston certainly isn’t doing anything to decrease hype. In a new interview, he has compared the movie to another one of the best King movies ever: Frank Darabont’s The Shawshank Redemption.
With the finale of Loki Season 2 dropping on Disney+ last week and the SAG-AFTRA strike now over, CinemaBlend’s own Erik Swann did a virtual interview with Hiddleston earlier today, and they in part spoke about the actor’s upcoming Stephen King adaptation. Asked about his personal experience with the author, the Marvel star recalled both his love for Shawshank Redemption and noted what it shares in common with The Life Of Chuck. Said Hiddleston,
I remember seeing the Shawshank Redemption when I was about 12 or 13 years old, and I think [it’s] still probably one of my top five favorite films of all time – because there is a warmth and a strength of spirit and a kind of overarching philosophy that is resolutely on the side of life and love that's at the center of that story. And I think it's that Stephen King that’s behind The Life of Chuck, the same warmth, same spirit.
The Life Of Chuck is based on the novella of the same name, which was first published in the 2020 Stephen King omnibus If It Bleeds. A cerebral and emotional piece of writing, the story is split into three sections and they unfold in reverse chronological order – beginning with the titular Chuck dying from a brain tumor at the age of 39.
Tom Hiddleston will be playing the eponymous character in the upcoming movie, which started filming in Alabama last month with permissions from SAG-AFTRA during the strike. This is the first time that he has worked with Mike Flanagan, but he is surrounded in the cast by many of Flanagan’s regulars – including Annalise Basso, Matt Biedel, Saidah Arrika Ekulona, Rahul Kohli, Heather Langenkamp, Carl Lumbly, Violet McGraw, Molly C. Quinn, Sauriyan Sapkota, Kate Siegel, Samantha Sloyan, and Michael Trucco.
Speaking about his first time working with Mike Flanagan and joining the filmmaker’s special troupe, Hiddleston remarked,
I had the most wonderful experience working with Mike Flanagan and with the company of performers that he assembled. I find it a very moving and beautiful story.
As you can tell by the use of past tense, Tom Hiddleston has completed his work on The Life Of Chuck (Karen Gillan recently celebrated wrapping with a TikTok video a few days ago), but we sadly don’t know when we’re actually going to see the film, as distribution plans have not yet been announced.

Seven Nights At Soma's
In which in a sci-fi AU, you're the new communications officer at the Beach, one of Hatter's luxury space cruises. As part of your training, every day you receive tapes from an old employee explaining the ins and outs of the ship. However, it's not long until things start to sound... off.
Disclaimer: I mention several canon AiB characters in this, but rest assured that they aren't based on anyone's portrayal of them, only on my own interpretation.
Day 1: Slate 1 - 15/09/2023
Good morning! Or good evening, or good night. I’m not sure when you’re hearing this tape but I hope you decided to listen to it first thing after you woke up, mainly because it’s gonna help you get through the day.
First off, let me give you the obligatory greeting (I’m reading this from a card I’ve got right here, so don’t mind me if I sound too weird):
Welcome to the Beach! Combining classic elegance and cutting-edge innovation, our space cruises offer the latest in comfort, gastronomy, innovation, entertainment and onboard experience. Our new and improved spaceships are also pushing the boundaries of sustainable tourism, by employing robotic assistants as personnel so as to focus on environmental well-being and minimising waste…
Sorry, sorry, I had to cut that short because I’m starting to laugh. Assistants, more like ASS-istants, am I right? Haha, yeah, it’s a funny word.
Anyways, yeah, I’m supposed to give you a rundown on your new job, although it isn’t precisely new, is it? Hatter told me he was thinking of filling the vacancy with someone who already worked here, but since I’m the vacancy, I’m not sure whether he ended up doing that or he simply hired someone new. Still, I figured you’d need some help, so I made you these tapes. Seven, one per day, which would cover the amount of time we need to get out of the Milky Way and into another galaxy, and after that you’ll literally be on your own. Well, I’ve only just recorded the one, so maybe I’m here saying it’s gonna be seven but it ends up being three, I don’t know. I guess we’ll see! Man, I’m more excited about this than you probably are, haha.
As I told you before, I’m the guy you’re replacing. I was actually the ship doctor, but the previous communications officer left, so I had to replace him. Doing both jobs and only getting paid for one, which is pretty rough, but hey, we gotta do what we gotta do. You know how in the Barbie movie, Ken’s job was ‘beach’? Well, mine is doctor and comms officer, haha. I was actually friends with the guy that left, and I imagine I must’ve spent so much time hanging out with him that Hatter thought some knowledge passed on to me. I have to say, this ship mostly runs itself, so I didn’t have much trouble. And you won’t either!
Anyways, yeah, let’s talk about the elephant in the room and get it over with. You’re on a cruise where the vast majority of personnel are robots. It’s more efficient that way; as I said in the presentation, ‘environmental well-being and minimising waste’. There’s so many I’m not even sure I know all their names, but to be honest, they’re not gonna bother you much. So, how about instead we run over some of the people you’ll be working with?
First off, since you’re a comms officer, you’ll sadly have to keep in touch with Chishiya, who’s in charge of logistics. He’s, excuse my French, a huge ass bitch. Yeah, that’ll make more sense when you meet him, but mark my words, you’re gonna hate the guy. I did, so it makes sense that you will too. I don’t wanna keep talking about him, so let’s move on.
Oh, these aren't employees but I figure you could say hello to them since they're pretty nice. Arisu and Usagi are this couple who've been together for what seems like forever and they're so cute. You can feel the love radiating from them, it's like they were made for each other. They are so, so sweet; talking to them always brightened up my day. Sometimes I got claustrophobic here, and when that happened I usually went to them to cheer up. They… I don't know, this might sound stupid, but they reminded me that there's more things to life other than a job.
You also have Kuina, who is an absolute sweetheart. She’s head of security, but she’s always super willing to help out if you need anything and she isn’t busy. Fortunately for her, this is a pretty tranquil ship; problems rarely arise here, at least the violent types. There hasn’t been any fights breaking out in… months? Probably even longer, yeah. Between you and me, I think the passengers are scared of doing something illegal in the presence of robots. They think they’re gonna bug out or something and accidentally kill them. Boy, Five Nights At Freddy’s really did a number on you all, huh? But yeah, Kuina. She trains once every three days, which means you'll get to see her. I recommend you go talk to her, but be careful not to bother her while she's training! Talking to her impacted me a lot, made me consider a lot of things about my life, plus, she’s very welcoming and one of the best people here. A literal ray of sunshine.
Oh, God, it sounds like I have a crush, doesn’t it? Haha, no, no, it’s not like that. Well… no, not really. Now you’ve got me flustered, though. I guess I’m ending the tape here, then. I’ll see you tomorrow!

Hotch and Rossi come back from the hospital, and you give him the basic rundown of what Penelope found out. They come back with an older man that they must have found at the hospital. His name is Dr. Rawlings, and he knows everything about everyone in this town. He's the doctor that people went to when they had any kind of problems both physically and emotionally.
"The bartender said that Jason stopped by the bar at the same time each day to pick up the cash and take it to the bank, which would have made him an easy target for anyone who knew his schedule," Rossi points out.
"I don't get all this," Chief Carlson says. "Jason was a good man. It may sound corny to you, but everybody loved him."
"Two days ago, Jason married Tina."
"She told me about that yesterday," Dr. Rawlings says. "All the tragedies made them not want to wait. It's a damn shame."
"What can you tell us about Tina's brother, Tommy?" Hotch asks.
"Tommy? Nobody's seen him around here in more than ten years."
"We think they might have but didn't recognize him. If he left ten years ago, he looks completely different than before, and he'd make sure to go unnoticed."
Penelope calls at the right time with more information on Tommy.
"Okay, from what I gathered, Tommy and Tina moved to Royal when he was five. Dr. Rawlings was his pediatrician. Apparently, early medical records indicated Tommy may have been emotionally unbalanced."
"Tommy was a little unstable. His parents dying brought that out," Dr. Rawling defended.
"Granted, I don't have a medical degree, but my guess is that watching his parents die in a fire didn't help Tommy's emotional well-being."
"What about Tina? How did the fire affect her?" Derek asks the doctor.
"Tina wasn't as damaged by it as he was. She adjusted more quickly. She was Tommy's lifeline."
"She was more than that. In a situation like this with no parents, a new environment, and grandparents probably too old to take care of them, Tina became Tommy's whole world. She was his sister, mother, and family. They were close enough that Tina distorted Tommy's love map. The way an individual gives or receives love is established by the age of six. With the death of the parents, Tommy's love map revolved exclusively around Tina, didn't it?"
"Yeah, it was like they were in their own little world. By the time they were eight, they even had their own language. It was a bit disturbing," the chief says.
"So, what happened?"
"What do you think happened? People talked. It's the only real occupation in Royal," Penelope scoffs.
"There were rumors that Tommy and Tina were too close. Nothing was ever confirmed, though. After the rumors started, things got ugly. People pointed fingers and Tommy got expelled from school."
"Based on nothing but hearsay," Penelope argues.
"Not true. The school had cause."
Penelope's anger is so strong that you can feel it through the phone. If you're being honest, you're getting a bit angry yourself, and it's not just Penelope making you feel that way.
"No, they didn't. I spoke to his teacher. She told me how the whole school and the whole town turned against him based on nothing but a rumor. She also told me another rumor. In this one, fourteen-year-old Tommy was beaten within an inch of his life by adults. Grown men."
"I didn't hear about it until after the fact. There was nothing I could do," the Chief responds.
"Broken bones and a punctured lung. All because of a rumor."
"Garica--"
Hotch tries to get her to stop but the Chief and Penelope keep going at it.
"I couldn't go after anyone based on only my suspicions. Nobody was talking about it, not even Tommy. I spoke to his grandparents and told them what to do."
"Yeah, they moved Tommy to a Colorado boarding school and cut off all ties between him and his sister. It was as if Tommy never even existed."
"It was for the best. They would have killed him."
You have to give Penelope credit. She's very bold to talk to a fire chief like that, and you're here for it.
"If what Garcia said is true, then this town's actions went a long way toward making Tommy who he is. We need to talk to Tina."
"I'll take you to her house."
When you get to Tina's house, you discover that the front door is wide open, and she is nowhere to be found. You have a feeling Tommy got to her before you could. When Hotch sees this, he starts calling her work to see if she's there. You head inside with your guns drawn but since there is no one home, there is no need for protection.
"Tina didn't show up for work," Hotch says.
"I found her cell phone," Derek says and holds it up.
"Do you think it was Tommy?"
"Yes. Put an APB for Tommy and Tina. Close all roads in and out of Royal."
"No, no, he loves her. He wouldn't hurt her," the chief panics.
"He will if she rejects him."
You take out your phone and call Penelope to see if there is more information on where Tommy might have taken Tina.
"Hey, Pen, is there anything else you can grab off Tommy and Tina? Anywhere where they loved to go together?"
"According to his former teacher, Tommy enrolled in the boarding school under the name Thomas Boren. That's his dead mother's maiden name. I tracked down his records, and he was at that school for half a year before he landed in juvie where he resided for the next three years. His psych evals during his stay were less than stellar. So, how mad do you think he is?"
"If I were him, I'd be pretty mad. Pen, the whole town turned against him."
"No, not him, Hotch. I mean, he did tell me to dig, right? So I dug. Granted, I'm not supposed to have direct contact with the public or purport myself as an FBI agent. Okay, I'm definitely not supposed to accuse someone of a felony or even a misdemeanor, especially when I don't have any actual evidence. Oh, God. I did just what they did. I based everything on a rumor. I got sucked right in. I didn't mean to. I--"
"Penelope, I love you, but stick to Tommy."
"Right, sorry. He was released from juvie when he was sixteen. That's when the trail goes cold."
"You couldn't find him?"
"No, I said the trail went cold, I didn't say it disappeared. This is the part I'm actually good at. Whatever he did in the interim remains a mystery, but at the age of twenty-one, Thomas Boren re-emerged in Franklin, Indiana. That's three hundred miles away from Royal. Mr. Boren purchased copious amounts of gasoline two months ago. It's not unusual to do it in Indiana, but Mr. Tommy Wheeler slash Boren didn't own a farm."
"That's when the nuisance fires happened."
"Yes. After his little spending spree, that's when the trail goes cold and I can't find him."
"Okay. Let us know if there is anything else."
"Roger Dodger."
If there is no sign of Tina and Tommy, and there is no way to find out where he might have taken Tina, then you need to ask someone else who knows them personally. Once Hotch heard what Penelope had to say, he brought in the Chief and Dr. Rawlings in hopes they might be able to help.
"Okay, we've locked down the town and put out a statewide alert. So far, nothing," the chief says.
"Where in Royal would Tommy take his sister? It's likely to be a place that's important to both of them. Maybe a place that they went to together as kids."
"I don't know," Dr. Rawlings shrugs. "The only place I can think of Is their grandparents' old house, but that was torn down years ago."
"That's not gonna help us."
"I've got pictures of her with the grandparents and friends. Nothing with Tommy," Emily says as she sifts through Tina's belongings.
"Garcia was right. After he was sent away, Tommy no longer existed, not even as a memory." You head back into the house and to Tina's bedroom where there has to be some sort of records for her brother. If they were as close as Penelope and Dr. Rawlings say they were, then she wouldn't let him go so easily. After a quick search under the bed, you find a box where she kept letters she's written to Tommy. "I found Tommy, or what she had left of him." You search through the box and find an invitation to a school dance from 1998. "Hotch, I think we have something here." You hand the invitation to the Chief. "What dance is this?"
"The Spring Formal. They hold it every year at the community center."
"This is from May of 1998, just before Tommy was beaten and forced out of town. Is this dance something Tommy and Tina would have gone to?"
"It's a big event. All the kids go even if they don't have formal dates."
"Would they have gone together?"
"Absolutely."
Now you have a lead. If they aren't at the community center, then you have no idea where he would have taken Tina. Luck is on your side because when your team gets there, Tina and Tommy can be heard arguing from inside the ballroom.
"You belong with me!" Tommy yells.
"No, I don't! No, I don't! Please! Let me go!" Tina begs.
Your team and the Chief walk in with guns pointed right at him, and you discover that they're both standing in the middle of the room with a gas can at their feet. The entire floor around them is covered in gasoline, and Tommy has a matchbook in his hands.
"Tommy, let her go! Let her go!"
"No!" Tommy lights one of the matches and threatens to drop it into the puddle of gasoline. "I'll burn the whole town down."
"No, you won't, not if you love her. Look at her, Tommy." He doesn't. "Look at her. If you really love her, then let her go."
"Please, Tommy," Tina cries.
"You don't want to hurt her, son," Rossi says gently.
"I love you," Tommy says to her.
"I know."
The match burns out in his hand, so when he drops it to the ground, the gasoline doesn't ignite. That's his sign of letting go, and Derek moves in to arrest him. Tina jumps over the gasoline to where you and Emily are, and Derek slaps handcuffs on her brother. You have no clue what their relationship was like, but if he'd go this far to make sure no one can be with her, then he has some sick view of who his sister is to him.
Half of the team falls asleep on the way back home, but you and Spencer are ready for another game of chess. You take out the board you stashed in your go-bag and set it in front of him with a grin.
"I want a rematch, Reid."
"I'm okay with winning again," he shrugs playfully.
You lightly kick him underneath the table and grin happily.
"Yeah, you wish."
"I have loved to the point of madness; That which is called madness, that which to me, is the only sensible way to love." - Francoise Sagan

oksies hi starting a new thread of get to know you
haii I'm moth and also thea you may call me any nickname as well <3
I love musicals so so much (niche and popular!! basic-shaming is lame)
I am superhero obsessed (augh pied piper)
doctor who is my autism (yay river sonf!!!!)
good omens heoughhhhhhhh
super excited to meet you <3333333
Hi moth!! You can call me tetra. Don't worry that's not my real name or anything tho. I took it from the concept of tetrachords in music.
If we're generous about what we call superheroes, then maybe most of the things I like are superhero based. I mean obviously there's marvel and dc, but then there's stuff like dpxdc, sonic the hedgehog (idk if I've ever heard him called a superhero but he kinda is), if we count magical girls then like. Sailor moon and madoka magica
I haven't seen any episodes of good omens, but I read a really good fanfic of Crowley going to therapy a while back, and a couple funny ones with like yelp reviews of Aziraphale's bookstore. Plus I love the good omens analysis posts on here. I feel like maybe I half know some of what's happened in the show but also probably haven't scratched the surface. I'm kinda bad at watching TV shows, so there's a lot of stuff that I know from fandom but haven't seen. For another example of that, I've only watched one or two episodes of Sonic Prime. I reblog posts for it and it sounds good but idk. Just bad at it.
I'm a much more casual fan of musicals, I think for the same thing as above where I just struggle to sit and watch something on purpose. But I listen to the music from them sometimes, I've read transcripts online of a couple, and i swoon whenever I see a post analyzing the meaning of a musical song, especially when they go beyond lyrics and start going into the music theory in the tune. I don't have the skills or knowledge to do that myself but I love it so much
(when the singer changes their technique to enhance the meaning,, when this or that chord is a step outside the key to symbolize change or isolation or anything,,, using instruments as symbols for this or that character,,, tbh it doesn't have to be a musical even shout out to that youtube video by Scruffy on how fnaf's audio and sound effects make it scarier)
Lately I've been bouncing back and forth between Sonic and DPxDC. With hints of Slay The Princess in there bc I saw part of a playthrough of that awhile ago and loved the concept. I reblog madoka magica stuff whenever I see it (except magia record bc I know next to nothing about it) because that stuff makes me lose my mind. The love the pain the hope the despair!! Homura is probably like my ultimate blorbo but I love all the five girls they're so cool. I actually read the manga instead of watching the show though so I'm not as familiar with all the music. Plus I think the show had some extra scenes. Although it's a little confusing bc I think some of the extra scenes I see are magia record so idk.
Also I'm a fan of arts and crafts and will reblog that kind of thing once in a while, along with cute cat stuff.
Super excited to meet you too!
#sorry about the late response. got nervous and then put it off for awhile#hopefully it's a good one though?#it's unedited bc if i think stop and think harder/worry more now i'll never escape the think stage and i will post nothing#and i don't wanna do that#if there's anything you wanna know just ask#actually maybe i should think of some questions for you#oh like who's pied piper? i haven't heard of a superhero with that name just the child-stealing legend#unless you consider that guy a hero which like. i guess you could interpret it like that? teaching the value of not exploiting your workers#and i've read at least one story based on the legend where he takes the children somewhere nice#i feel like stealing children is not the ideal solution to that issue but it is a bit iconic if you think about it right#maybe he couldve taken some crops instead tho like thats the village income. it'd be more similar to money than kids.#i mean i guess in those days kids were also workers. and somewhat exploited generally.#so i guess i could see it as the guy getting exploited and then grabbing all the other exploited workers in town#i'm not really a history buff am i off base with this theory completely#i know kids used to have to work to help their families and that there are child labor laws for a reason#but also. not like there was a ton of free entertainment in the olden times.#i mean the parents almost definitely didnt pay kids money but chores aren't exploitation#maybe i should leave this up to interpretation#or just say it depends on situation and some kids probably were exploited while others weren't#hmm. this whole thing is probably just bs. i don't know what i'm talking about#oh well i hope you didn't mind it

Hey, saw your post about wheelchair-using Scar incanon, and I was wondering: would Shelia's wheelchair (from the new Doctor Who) work in the life series?
TLDR: No, I do not think any manual wheelchair really would. Something like a more agile version of the Ogo wheelchair (it's electric and hands free) is what I would suggest going with. My designs for one under the ---- below
I believe the character you meant is Shirley, but forgive me if I am wrong about that and missed something. I don't watch Doctor Who but, from the clips I have found just briefly looking, I would say not really.
It is quite a standard manual wheelchair from what I can tell, it just seems to include some sort of weapon in it. She needed a ramp to get into the TARDIS. That would not work for a non-wheelchair accessible setting like the life series.
I honestly really do not think any sort of manual wheelchair would work at all for the life series. I understand why people tend to gravitate towards manual wheelchairs, in a sense, but also I really do not think that it holds up beyond just. Surface level consideration of it. Your arms are your legs when you are in a wheelchair, and if you are in combat you need your arms.
My biggest suggestion for the life series, especially if the Scar you're writing is an ambulatory wheelchair user, is truly horses. As shown in Secret Life, they can work really effectively even for people who do not rely on them to get around. It really is something that you have to put a lot of thought into to understand enough about wheelchairs to incorporate them into a setting like that.
----
Thankfully, I do have a lot of experience with it and a lot of thoughts for those who want their Scar in a wheelchair, not using alternative mobility aids.
The Ogo wheelchair is hands-free. It moves via tilting in the direction you want to go.
Tumblr media
I would really think something like this is so critical for Scar in a setting like that. The biggest reason why I am not a fan of Scar in manual wheelchairs is because he just. Does not have his hands available. The Ogo wheelchair would solve that problem.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Really rough design, but hopefully gets the point across. A Minecrafty, redstone wheelchair. The wheels contain pistons that launch the chair upwards when extended. (The wheels themselves, for the record, would probably be quite heavy duty ones. Look at outdoor wheelchairs to see what I mean, I want the wheels to be able to go over small rocks without the jump having to be used)
You will also see I have pointed out some of the limitations to the design. I think that is the most important part of all of this. People often fall into pit holes where they are, essentially, creating able-bodied characters that have the illusion of being in a wheelchair.
In this case, Scar would have to time the jumps based on where his wheels are, or else it will not launch him upwards. I feel as though he knows the chair well enough to be able to do it easily. He probably also knows how to do it to jump forwards/backwards.
Another limit not mentioned there is the lack of sideways mobility. The chair turns when he tilts, but he cannot move sideways. That can create major problems when, say, trying to evade a strike coming at you from the side.
The pistons opening up means it is possible for things to get stuck in them. I feel as though pressing the button again would open it back up and give him the chance to extract himself, but he could get very stuck, especially if someone is intentionally sticking something in that gap. (Although, I would say given the strength of the pistons, it is quite likely that things are more likely to just break off when they snap shut than anything else. It still creates potential dangers of things like debris.)
Anyway.
I primarily used this ask as an excuse to get around to creating this post, as I have been meaning to for a little while.

Convergence on Lawndale - Part 9
As Stacy returned to her seat, she tried to ignore Sandi’s glare. “What was that about, Stacy?” the latter asked.
 “Um, nothing,” Stacy said.
 “It’s not nothing,” Sandi said.
Stacy turned back to her work.
The Doctor approached the source of the interference. It looked like an ordinary stretch of street, with the usual suburban houses, much like the rest of Lawndale. There had to be someone using one of the houses as a base. He whipped out the sonic and walked along the street.
At the same time, Kim and Ron were also approaching the area. “This is the street,” Kim said.
“It just looks like an ordinary street,” Ron said.
“You should know by now that looks can be deceiving.”
 “I know.”
Kim took out the Kimmunicator. “There is definitely something here.”
“So, we’re just going to walk along and narrow it down?”
 Kim nodded.
The Doctor soon found it. “This is the place,” he murmured to himself, while looking at the two teenagers he had noticed out of the corner of his eye. There was something familiar about the girl, but he couldn’t place her.
Kim eyed the man with suspicion. He was certainly weird. “Do you know something about that house?” she asked.
“No,” he answered. “Something is in there that caused that flicker earlier.”
“That’s our conclusion,” Kim said, indicating Ron.
“That’s right,” Ron said with a nod.
“Well, you two can help me investigate,” the man said.
“You know more, don’t you?” Kim asked.
“Of course. But I guess that you know of a portal? One to Middleton perhaps?” the man asked.
“Yes?” Kim asked. “I’m Kim Possible, and this is my friend Ron Stoppable.”
“You can call me the Doctor.”
 “Doctor who?” Ron asked.
 “Just the Doctor.”
 “Right,” Kim said.
The Doctor used his strange device to open the door. Kim recorded its sounds for Wade to analyse later. “Ladies first,” he said.
“Sure,” Kim said as she and Ron entered ahead of him.
The lounge room looked like an ordinary lounge room, but Kim’s experienced eye noticed some things that were off.
“Uncanny,” Ron commented. It was clear that he did too.
The Doctor followed them in. “Nobody is home,” he said as he waved his device about.
“Good,” Kim said. “We won’t be interrupted.”
 “Wait!” Ron said.
 “What?” the Doctor asked.
“Any pets or robots?” Kim asked.
“Of course,” the Doctor said. He ran another scan. “Oh!”
“What?” Ron asked. “Don’t tell me it’s monkeys.”
“No, not monkeys,” the Doctor answered. “That would be ridiculous.”
“Then what is it?” Kim asked as she glanced into the kitchen.
“Several cats, and two robots, both currently inactive.”
“We have to be careful, KP.”
“Of course,” Kim said. She was sure there was some kind of secret passageway behind one of the walls…
Ron was sure that there was something wrong with the house. It was giving him the creeps. More so than the ‘Doctor’ anyway. Rufus agreed with him. “Hh ha,” his little buddy said. He knew Kim knew it too. She was looking around with suspicion. She came to a decoration on the wall opposite the kitchen.
“I think this is it,” she said.
 “Wait!”
“I’m prepared for the possibility of traps, Ron,” Kim admonished.
 “Sorry!”
Kim pressed the decoration button in and a portion of the wall slid aside. She brought the Kimmunicator up. “There is an increase in magnetic field strength, here.”
“Something that requires a Faraday Cage,” the Doctor commented. “Not something that an ordinary house would contain.”
 “You’re right,” Kim said.
Ron had heard about it in Science. “So, it’s some kind of magnet?”
“Yes,” the Doctor said. “And it probably draws a lot of power.”
“So, it would cause that flicker. But that doesn’t explain what else may have happened,” Kim said. “But what else is new?”
There was a lot about the devices that their villains used that Ron didn’t understand.
The Doctor’s device gave off a sound. “Uh oh!”
 “What?” Kim asked.
”The robots have activated,” the Doctor answered.
“I knew it was a trap!” Ron exclaimed.
The Doctor was annoyed at the boy’s panic, but he knew the pair’s future reputation. He knew that the portal lead to a point in time early their high school career.
“Don’t worry, Ron. Quickly!” Kim said.
“Right behind you, KP!” Ron followed her into the passage.
The Doctor also followed them and turned around at the entrance, ready to face off against those robots.
Kim looked at the metal walls around her. Whoever lived there, was probably someone much like any of the people she thwarted on a regular basis. ‘Great!’ she thought. She couldn’t find a light switch, forcing her to use the flashlight built into the Kimmunicator. “It’s likely to be in a basement.”
Ron nodded beside her. “Let’s go.”

Moth to a flame
Summary: Coming onboard the only thing Pricilla were interested in was the Major. The Bajoran woman in red.
Kira Nerys x !oc
Warnings: None for now
“Thank you for coming aboard, Pricilla. How was your trip here from earth?” Julian asked. Pricilla brought the Doctor in for a tight hug, “I’ve been through better. The pod was a bit squished due to the capacity.” She lets him go and sees him blushing. “That happens sometimes. Sorry.” She waves him off. “Don’t be. Show me around yeah?” For the rest of the evening Julia showed her around, making sure she got to know everyone he knew. Especially the group, “Everyone, this is Pricilla. A close, dear friend of mine. She came all the way from earth.” luckily everyone was in Quarks Bar.
“I’m Jadzia. This is Kira. Kira is the Major here,” Kira reaches her hand over to Pricilla. “Nice to meet you.” Pricilla froze. Her eyes lingered on the woman for what seemed like a minute before snapping out of her trance. “Nice to meet you Kira.” She let the name go with base. Julian cleared his throat. “This is Captain Sisko, our new captain.” Sisko stands, “it’s a pleasure to meet you. I hope you enjoy your stay here on Deep Space Nine.”
“I don’t have a doubt I won’t.” She looks over at Julian. “Can you show me to my quarters? I’m sorry to leave, I’m just very, very tired.”
“Don’t be sorry. Get some rest and you can always come find us,” The bajoran eases. Something sparks in the Major’s eyes, something that makes tingles go down Pricilla spine.
The next morning Pricilla woke up sore. Not fully comfortable with the starship bed yet, having hit it a few times didn’t justify it either. Luckily the pillows were comfortable, tonight she can build herself a bed cage around herself to try to make it a little comfortable. “Computer, run shower.” She commands. “Water started” the comm says before the showers starts.
“You know, I think Julian’s new friend takes a liking to the Major, something is brewing.” Quark tells Sisko. They were having breakfast that morning. “You’re out of your head. Don’t speak like that about people. Especially our friends,” Sisko stops.
“You know it and I know it; the first time they laid eyes on each other fire works practically went off above them, it’s no stranger. Sexual tension between two beautiful women.” Sisko stands. He points a finger at him, “Enough.” Quark raises his hands up in play defeat. “Okay, okay. But, don’t tell me you don’t see it.”
After finishing up with Quark Sisko makes his way to med bay and stops when he sees Pricilla with Bashir. “Captain-” she freezes, “he was just showing me his office,” Julian is also frozen. Sisko raises his hand. “As you were. Just wanted to come in here to tell Bashir that I have updates on the medical records.” Julian nods taking the medic padd.
“You know, Pricilla, we’re having a festival to welcome a species that never crossed our lands. I was hoping if you would like to join us?” Thinking about it, she nods. “I’d be happy to. Who will be there?”
“oh the usual. Me, Julian, Jadzia,” He pauses. “Kira.”
“Perfect. I’ll for sure be there.” Sisko nods. He looks over to Julian. “Bashir.”
“Captain.”
It’s 2100 hours and everyone is gathered in the center of Deep Space Nine waiting for their guests to arrive. It’s said that these species come from deep within the void, the Delta Quadrant to be exact. No one has ever visited that region of space, not yet. How did they get here?
“What do you think they’ll look like? Probably weird from us, don’t you think?” Jadzia asks Quark. They are on the upper deck of the ship watching from above for a better view,
“They’re probably ugly.” He admits. “Don’t be rude.”
“I’m just saying, they did come far within the galaxy,” Quark shakes his head and takes a sip of his drink. Pricilla takes it upon herself to be in front of the gathering and later feels fingers poking at her side. It was Kira.
“I was hoping you were here. Are you as excited as I am?” She asks her voice like honey and her eyes glittering. “Sort of,” she turns her attention back at the doors. Feeling suddenly anxious, Pricilla bounces on her feet. “Isn’t this dangerous? Letting an unknown species come on board like this?”
“It is risky but we let anyone on until further notice.”
“Or until they turn hostile,” Pricilla adds. Kira laughs shaking her head. “I have a feeling tonight is going to be good.”
Another half an hour passes and no passengers yet.
“How about we get a drink? We probably won’t miss anything.” Pricilla offers the idea. Looking between the main doors and Quark’s the Bajoran shrugs. “What the hell,”
Entering and finding an empty table at the corner of the bar the two sit and Quark heads over to them with the biggest smile anyone has ever seen before. “Ladies. What will we have?” He asks, his smile drawing a weird look from Kira. “Anything strong.” She responds. She looks over at Pricilla, waiting for her turn, “You?”
“I’ll take something simple. Maybe tequila.” Quark bows and leaves them. Kira shakes her head at the ferengi.
“Man. I don’t know if it’s me, but something tells me he has something up his sleeve.”
Pricilla looks at her and then the little man. “What do you mean?”
“I don’t know.” Kira looks at Pricilla and takes the time to really look at her.

thebestdecepticonleader 1d ago "Ya did good." So it turns out Smokescreen knows about the ceasefire, maybe it would put his mind at ease to know that it went through? Many Autobots had been happy to know that there would be fewer Decepticons on the battlefield. "So the ceasefire did end up going through. Most of the mechs from the base ya were on have joined what they are calling "Unity" or "Unify Cybertron". Your information on Starscream was very helpful, think it'll be real useful when the new faction tries ta negotiate again. He's super eager ta make an alliance."
'Che, he's super weak,' Smokescreen answered. 'Not very rational. Can't plan worth a flip. I gave that split some help but more times I had to pull Starscream back from certain failure.' He became more serious. 'It happened fast in the end, so my report is scant. He had been hinting all along how he wanted to leave Megatron and finally had the reason to do it, but it generated alot of emotions that went out of control. I had to stop him more than once from flying off by himself to a quick execution because I wanted him to succeed in splitting an already weak army in half. I had no way to get word to the Autobots about what was happening and be ready to use it.'
Smokescreen stared at Jazz some seconds. 'You probably couldn't infer the details from the medical notes I sent. The Decepticons are an impoverished army in the rear. I was saving Decepticon lives, yes, but even if I had the skills to fully repair them, to take them off the invalid list, there were no parts for it. The base I was held in was a metrotitan in poor health and stationary because there's no energon for him. That's a severe firepower loss. I sat at card tables once and awhile, when I could leave, and there was no gambling because none of the soldiers there had anything to gamble. I never had one good meal but because I was the only thing that could pass for a doctor, I was given extra of the stuff I couldn't digest very well. Some sixty-two percent of those I was able to get a record of couldn't read the forms because of previous head injuries untreated. They can't disseminate written orders or plans. The Vosians are now alone, with even less. They can't remain neutral because they will starve to death in short order. They will return to Megatron or become marauders. It would be best if the Autobots can employ them somehow, as scouts or a strike team or something, paid with the basics and a little extra. Give them enough they don't become a nusiance.'

rambelling about the dark purveyors
so i wrote this last night in like 40 minutes before i went to bed, then tumblr wasnt working on desktop so i couldnt post it lmao
Uhhhh so im still on my lollipop chainsaw bender and i'm stuck making au’s for the dark purveyors and such . but also i kinda wondered what jobs they would have had if they'd lived? Hell maybe they could have jobs in the rotten world, who knows
Zed
So for some reason I can see Zed having a medical job. Maybe not a Doctor, family medicine or general practice but maybe a surgeon? I can def see him taking an interest in cutting people up and just being like “well i GUESS i can fix them while i'm at it.'' I can also see him just blasting misfits as his operating. Failing that, lab tech? Still science and biology, maybe he still works in a hospital as a nurse or phlebotomist? I could maybe even see him working as a crime scene tech or a crime scene cleaner? He's not squeamish and I imagine he’d love to tell people gross stories from his job. Something science or medicine based is up his alley.i don't think he cares for cops but he seems like he might like working shit out like a detective, so maybe a medical examiner? Being punk is fun and all but it doesn't pay the bills.
Vikke
Another medical job maybe? Perhaps not with human thought. I feel like Vikke is maybe an animal whisperer. I could see him working in a Zoo, obviously he loves the bears most but he can look after all the animals. Maybe he could work in a rescue centre that takes exotic or farm animals ? I can see him as a vet very easily but I could also see him as an animal trainer, maybe for movies and such? Stays on set to help them film, all the other dark purveyors are jealous because he gets to hang around with animals and actors all day but he's pretty humble about it. I know he has Yumil as a pet/poncho but I also think he has a little ratty teacup dog who is the most vicious headbanger you've ever met. It's probably called Thor or something. Vikke puts bathory on his home sound system before he goes to work so the dog doesn't get lonely.
Mariska
So she works in a dispensary, obviously but it's more like a dispensary/cafe? I think maybe she's doing a little cooperative thing : half the store is a dispensary and is run by the growers, half the store is a cafe that Mariska runs. She makes space cakes and sews weed themed bags and things like that. It's definitely a favourite hangout for the others, they started going for the free coffee and cheap weed but it's honestly such a chill place to hang out they started buying things to keep the lights on so they'd always have a place to go ( also mariska wouldn't stop banging on about supporting local shops, threatened to play nothing but go ask alice until the bought something). She organises craft days and live music and workshops for people wanting to learn to write or who need help with their CVs or people who want to learn a new craft like knitting or macrame. She even goes out to the farmers market on Saturdays with one of those little portable coffee shop caravans. Honestly, homegirl is living her best life and I love that for her.
Josey
SO josey is the only one who still has a job in the music field. I can see him owning a record store or maybe some sort of promotion agency? He decorated the fulci fun centre, i think he might have a bit of artistic talent in him. Maybe he does the art for artists' posters? Set up the flyers and do the t-shirt art for the concerts? He seems tech savvy so i could also see him doing DJ gigs. Actually as i was typing this i remembered; if you go to the chain link fence in the fulci fun centre where you get a nick ticket, you can see a neon sign that says Josey’s arcade. Maybe he runs his own gaming place. Given his uh….personality, i can see it being more adult focused, slots and pachinko machines, old r18 arcade cabs of DOOM, maybe some vr headsets with questionable games installed? I feel like he’d also do parties but less kid parties and more 21st parties with booze and strippers and pacman, bachelor parties with pole dancers when you win. If you get enough tickets from skee ball you can get a lapdance, that sort of thing.
Lewis
Ok hear me out: i think lewis would be into robotics. First thought was he works in a garage that specialises in fancy mods and detailing and while I can totally see that as a practical job, I imagine he has a side gig doing animatronics, fancy rigs and elaborate custom toys for grown folks and maybe movies? Maybe he works on the same sets as Vikke occasionally. Ellyphant was pretty cool and I know it was probably magic but Lewis would have had to think of the design, maybe even on the fly as Juliet sliced it in different places . That's creativity, that's engineering, that's out of the box thinking ! He'd make a good contestant on robot wars is all I'm saying. Day to day he does work on bikes and cars. It's fun giving people their dream ride but what he enjoys more is taking a pos scrap car or bike and restoring it from just a shell and some wheels to something amazing that is worth thousands. I don't think he likes telling folks about his side thing because it's nerdy and he’s still got that greaser tough guy image to protect.
Swan
Ok swan was definitely the most difficult to choose because like. He's not in the game enough to get a gist of him and his skills. He's a necromancer, bad at sports and needs to talk to a therapist but that's not going on his CV. in the au im making, swan is a reaper : basically while juliet is killing alive monsters, Swan is killing dead humans, people who cant or wont pass on . I like the yin and yang thing between them, swan having to grow up by seeing how many people don't want to die, don't deserve to die and knowing he wasted his life on revenge. Totally stole this idea from Kuroshitsuji, the reapers there are people who are people being punished for taking their own lives, so i thought it fit well with swans story.
But this isn't that au im talking about, these are just hypotheticals, I'll talk about their reaper au stories some other time. For grown swan i thought a few things: he's a “geek” so he's obviously smart , he's good at planning (world domination notwithstanding), he's good with explosives (well good might be a stretch but he knows how to use them) and he's good with languages ( he speaks latin (or an approximation of latin) while summoning the dark purveyors)) so here's my potential job list : teacher or someone in academia, he's clearly smart, i don't think he could do highschool again but college might be fun for him.
Linguistics tutor/researcher: Latin is a dead language, being able to translate it for research, for history or even for medicine would be a good choice for him. He hasn't got the greatest social skills so something involving people long dead seems like a good choice.
pyrotechnician/demolition expert: ok this man is smart, patient, good at planning and has previous explosion experience. Tell me you wouldnt like to see this goth fuck rock up someplace with 12 tonns of c4 to an old ass building, level it then quietly just air drum the opening of down with the sickness???? If you say no I'll know you're lying.

Work In Progress Chapter Two
Summary: After leaving the BAU, you promised you would never go back. But then, you meet your replacement. Your genius, caring, loving replacement, and you can't stop yourself from being pulled back into that world.
Chapter TW: Spencer being awkward. See Series Masterlist for full series TW.
Word Count: 783
A/N: Okay, I promise, I am going to post on Wednesdays
Series Masterlist | Masterlist
Tumblr media
“What’s on your mind, pretty boy?”
Spencer looks up, using a folder to push Morgan off his desk. “I’m fine. What do you want?”
“No need to get snappy. I just wanna know what’s got our genius distracted.”
“It’s nothing.”
Morgan raises his hands in defense. “I just wanna help you. (L/N) may be intimidating, but she’s not scary. You really just need to call her.”
“I-How-how did you know?”
Morgan laughs. “C’mon. You should know better than to try to hide things from me.”
He just groans in response, dropping his gaze back to his paperwork, causing Morgan to laugh. “You’ve got this.” He doesn’t want to admit it, but this conversation is the final push he needed to finally call you. Of course, he doesn’t bother to look at the time. 1:45 on a Thursday was probably not the best time to call.
“Hi, um, it’s me. Spencer. I-uh-I wanted to see if you wanted to meet up sometime. Maybe tomorrow for dinner. Or if you’re too tired or something, we could get lunch or something this weekend. We don’t have to eat, we could go back to the museum, which I’m sure you’re sick of by now or we could go - you know what, I’ll just let you decide. Bye.”
He practically throws the phone into his desk drawer after recording the message.
In all honesty, he thinks it’s a miracle that you call him back.
“Hey, sorry, Spencer, I just got your message. How are you?”
“It’s fine. I’m fine. How are you? How was your day?”
“Good. It was good. Thank you again for the idea. The kids absolutely loved it.”
“No problem. I’m glad I could help. Your field trip looked a lot more fun than mine. Never got to make my own cubist painting.”
You giggle. He is quickly developing a new favorite sound. “Well, we’ll have to fix that. I’m not sure what you’d had planned, but what if we met up tomorrow. There’s a walking trail not too far from base. I can bring the crafts if you want to bring some food.”
He nods before realizing you can’t see him. “Sounds great. I can’t wait!”
“I’ll see you soon, Spencer.”
“Yeah, you too. I’ll see you soon. Bye.”
“Bye, Spencer.”
Again, he throws the phone into the drawer and silently begging the desk to swallow it and never give it back. The clatter startles the rest of the floor. While most people choose to spare him some embarrassment and ignore it, Morgan can’t help himself.
“That her?”
Much to Spencer’s dismay, Garcia happens to be walking through the bullpen. “Her who?”
Morgan wears a smug grin that makes Spencer even more embarrassed. “It seems that our favorite doctor has a bit of a crush on a former agent.”
Garcia furrows her brow, trying to figure out who they could be talking about.
“Ah, that’s right. You joined after she left. (Y/N) (L/N).”
“(Y/N),” Elle says. Forget the phone, Spencer wants his desk to swallow him whole. “You met (Y/N)?”
He mumbles a quick yes before turning back to his paperwork. Before he can be embarrassed anymore, Hotch comes down to see what all the commotion was about. Hearing her name causes him to tense. “Back to work.”
There’s a murmur of “yes, sir”s and quite a few eye rolls, but it gets everyone back to their desks. Spencer has never been more grateful for a stack of files in his life. His haste to get out of the office causes him to finish his paperwork faster than usual. Normally, he would wait a bit to give it to Hotch, but as soon as he signs the last form, he races up to Hotch’s office.
“Come in,” Hotch says.
“Here are the files. I’m going to head out if that’s okay.”
Hotch glances at the stack before returning to his own. “Of course. See you in the morning.”
“Yes, sir.” Spencer lingers in the doorway for a moment, unsure if he should ask about you again.
Luckily, Hotch decides for him. “(Y/N) is something,” he signs. “She’s independent to a fault, and will fight to the death for those she loves.” He finally looks back up at him. “When she left, we all lost a very valuable member of this team and of this family.”
“I’m sure, sir.”
He nods, turning his gaze back to the files and making it very clear that this conversation is over. Spencer’s head is swimming with thoughts of you. It’s clear that whatever happened to you wasn’t just traumatic for you. Hotch feels incredibly responsible for what happened to you.

Spencer made it clear to Jo she could be anything she wanted to be growing up.
She would change her mind about her career path quite often but Spencer was always supportive. When she wanted to be a vet, she had a bunch of different stuffed animals to practice on. When she wanted to be an astronaut, you all built a rocket ship out of a cardboard box. When she wanted to be a scientist, Spencer got her a book set of kid’s science books.
One afternoon after school, Jo hopped up on the kitchen counter as Spencer was making her a snack and you were playing with the twins on the floor.
“Daddy, I can’t go to work any more,” Jo stated.
“Why not, Princess?” Spencer asked, sliding apple slices and peanut butter in front of her.
“I have a baby and husband now,” Jo explained.
“You got a baby and husband in one day?” you questioned.
“Thomas kissed me and then we got married under the slide at recess and now we have a baby. I don’t have time for work, Daddy,” Jo sounded exasperated.
“Thomas did WHAT?” Spencer gaped.
“He kissed me like you kiss Mommy every morning before work,” she demonstrated the little peck on her baby doll.
Spencer’s eyes widened, “Y/N, please help.”
You stood from the blanket where the twins were having tummy time.
“Jo, how about you wait until you’re a little older to start kissing people? A hug or high five can show love to. You can try that next time,” you suggested.
“Daddy says kissing is safer than handshakes though,” Jo reminded you.
“Nope! I lied! Kissing is very dangerous,” Spencer shook his head empathically, “Don’t kiss.”
“But we have a baby together,” Jo held up her baby doll.
“I see that. What’s their name?” you asked.
“This is Derek,” she informed you.
“You named him after your uncle? That’s very sweet,” you smiled.
“I want a real one so I can name it Penelope. I want to have a big belly like Mommy used to have. How are babies made?” she questioned.
Spencer grasped your hand, looking very pale, “Y/N, I need to lie down.”
“One second, love,” you squeezed his hand before turning back to Jo, “You can’t have a baby until you’re much older. Then, I’ll explain it to you, okay?”
Jo nodded.
“I need to take Daddy to bed. He’s feeling a little sick,” you told her, “You can play with the twins.”
“Actually,” Spencer slipped his hand out of yours, “I’m going to go for a drive. I’ll be back in a bit.”
You looked at him curiously as he leaned in for a kiss but then retreated under the watchful eyes of Jo.
You followed him into the entryway as he laced his converse up, “Where are you going?”
“I’ve never heard of a Thomas before until now. I need Penelope to check this kid out.”
“Check this kid out?” you laughed, “What are you expecting to find? A nine year old with a criminal record?”
“I need to make sure my daughter is safe,” he looked up at you seriously.
“Okay,” you relented, “You’re a great dad albeit very protective,” you kissed him goodbye.
“Are we going to start having to only kiss in private now?” you smirked.
“I don’t want her seeing and copying it at school,” Spencer sighed, “The last thing I want is to get a phone call from her teacher that our daughter needs to stop kissing people.”
“Okay, sneaking around could be fun anyways,” you smiled, giving him another kiss, “Tell the team I say hi.”
-
“Who does this Thomas kid think he is?” Spencer grumbled to himself as he was in the elevator, “Kissing my sweet little precious daughter. I should have him arrested. Maybe I don’t have the grounds for an arrest but I can show him my badge and scare him off.”
His ranting stopped as he knocked on Penelope’s door.
“Who is it?” she chirped.
“Spencer,” he replied, “I brought you a croissant.”
“It’s open!”
Spencer opened the door and handed her the paper bag.
“And it’s still warm!” she squealed, “You must really love me.”
“I do but I also need a favor,” he spoke.
“Name it, boy wonder,” she readied herself at her keyboard.
“I need you to look up a boy named Thomas in Jo’s class.”
“Is this kid bullying her?” she gritted her teeth, “I swear to god, I will reign hell down on this kid if he is.”
“No, it’s the opposite actually. He kissed her,” Spencer sighed.
“She already got her first kiss?” Penelope gasped.
“I know! I didn’t even have mine until 25,” Spencer replied.
Penelope clicked away at her keys, “We’ve got two Thomases in her class but according to the attendance record, Thomas Jacobson was out sick today meaning Thomas Bennett is our guy.”
“What do we know about him?” Spencer asked, crouching down to look at Penelope’s screen.
“Plays on the town soccer team, has an allergy to shellfish, good report card,” Penelope stated.
“Anything else? Any visits to the principals? Sketchy friends?” he questioned.
“I guess the sketchiest friend he has would be his imaginary friend named Robby the cowboy according to his mom’s facebook. He’s got a squeaky clean school record.”
“Let me see what this kid looks like,” Spencer desperately demanded.
Penelope gave him a look.
“Please,” he added.
The group class pictures of the past 3 years popped up on to Penelope’s screen. Each year, Jo and Thomas were standing next to each other smiling and laughing in various poses.
“He doesn’t look like much of a threat to me,” Penelope stated.
“Why hasn’t she ever asked for him to come over on a playdate?” he asked.
“She was probably scared her dad was going to embarrass her,” Penelope chuckled.
“She’s in 3rd grade! No boys!” Spencer crossed his arms.
“That rule is setting you up for a rebellious stage later in life,” Penelope rolled her eyes.
“So I just let this happen?” Spencer sighed, dropping into the chair next to Penelope.
“Yes, you’re supposed to protect her but not from nice boys who make her happy.”
“But she’s just my sweet little girl,” Spencer started to tear up.
“And she always will be but you need to let her live her life,” Penelope explained.
“I know. Thanks Penelope.”
-
You heard the car pull in while you were making dinner. You lowered the setting on the stove and made your way over to the door.
“Hey,” you greeted him, wrapping your arms around him.
“Hi,” he snuggled into the crook of your nest.
“Did you find Thomas on the FBI’s most wanted list?” you joked.
“No, he’s a good kid,” Spencer sighed in defeat, “I just don’t like the thought of her growing up. Then, she’ll eventually have to leave us.”
“That’s what being a parent is,” you whispered, “You love them, care for them, and prepare them for the world as best you can but then you have to set them free. But, I have good news for you,” you smiled.
“What?”
“You’re stuck with me forever,” you grinned.
“Thank god,” Spencer squeezed you tighter.
“Daddy!” Jo ran into the room, “Lion King is playing in theaters tonight! We need to go!”
“Okay, Princess,” he looked to you for support and you squeezed his hand, “Do you think Thomas would want to come?”
“Yes! He loves Lion King!” Jo exclaimed, running to go get ready.
“You’re a great dad,” you reminded him once again.
“I’m still going to be watching this kid like a hawk,” Spencer admitted.
“As you should,” you grinned, kissing him.
Soon enough, Jo came home next week saying she wanted to be a congresswoman and they were back to their old adventures.

A Good Guy - A Solangelo One-Shot
Summary: Will might be a lot of things. And among those things, Will would dare to say that he’s a good guy. But when it came to Nico di Angelo, would he ever be good enough, though?
Word count: 3900 words || Rating: Teenage and Up Audiences || Read on AO3
Notes:
1. Based on the song "good guys" by LANY 2. My contribution for @after-everything-pjo-zine project. Check out other fics (each fic is accompanied by great fanart so you just HAVE to check it out) in the zine here.
***
Will might be a lot of things. And among those things, Will would dare to say that he’s a good guy. And he would proudly say that it’s because his family raised him to be one. His Mama made sure that he never forgot to say please, sorry and thank you, and his grandma taught him to respect people. Even though Apollo wasn’t around to be an ideal father as Will was growing up in Tennessee, his grandpa showed him how to be a Southern gentleman.
So yeah, he might come across as a young man who with a sassy attitude. But heck, Will knew that he was a good guy. And he’s proud of that.
But here’s the thing. Here’s a thing about being a good guy. Being a good guy might sound like it’s a good thing to do. But being a good guy also sometimes meant that you’re almost as invisible as a wallflower. Because even though you’re good, there were always be better guys. And one thing that Will learned about being a good guy? Good guys never win.
***
“It’s been almost two weeks, you know,” Will said as he kept his eyes at the monthly medical report that he (pretended) to be reading.
“Two weeks since what?” Kayla asked, but didn't bother to pretend that she's actually interested.
“Since Nico went for that quest, remember? Something about Persephone’s parrot or something?” Will said, still trying to keep his eyes at the notes. Because he knew that Kayla might still see the worry in Will’s eyes. (Sometimes it’s almost scary, how his siblings knew him too well).
“Oh? Really? Has it been two weeks yet?”
“Almost,” Will said, decided to leave the detail that it’s actually has been 11 days and since Nico had left the camp early in the morning and now it was almost dinner, it’s been almost twelve freaking days since Nico left the camp for that stupid quest.
“I mean, of course, it might be nothing but well, I thought it was supposed to be a short, simple quest?” Will continued. “Usually if it’s just this small quest, it never took him this long before. Usually it would just be like, three days, five, at the most, and like, a week if he took a detour to impulsively do something unnecessary, but never this long.”
Will lifted his head and turned to look at Kayla, who didn’t seem to share the same worry as Will. Her eyes were still fixed on the glossy pictures of the magazine that she was looking at. A non-committal hum coming from her was the only sign that she was (kind of) listening.
Will tried to focus on the lines of writing in front of him, but the letters were all jumbled and he couldn’t make himself try to read anything. His mind was too busy thinking about different reasons and scenarios of why Nico wasn’t back yet from the quest.
“Do you think I should ask Chiron about it? Probably he’s heard from Nico, y’know. Like, maybe something came up and I don’t know, maybe Chiron knew or maybe even Rachel got a vision or something, or-“
“Or you could have just contacted me, Solace. Pretty sure that it doesn't hurt to try IM me”
Will stood up and spun to face the direction where the voice was coming from. He did it so fast, he got dizzy because of it. It took him two seconds before his eyes could fully focus on Nico di Angelo, who was staring at him. His face looked nonchalant, but his eyes glinted with amusement.
“Uh, hey,” Will greeted, gripping the desk as he suddenly needed to get a hold of himself. “You’re back.”
Nico gave him a single nod, brushing away some strands of hair from covering his eyes. “Yep. I just got back.” He shrugged his shoulders before continuing. “Thought I’d drop by here before I report to Chiron.”
Will tightened his grip on the desk, trying his best to hold himself from closing the distance between him and Nico just to pull Nico into his arms.
“And uh… What brings you here?”
The emotional part of him wished that he was the reason why Nico came straight to the infirmary after the quest. But the rational part of him shushed him. That damned rational part of him told him that hey, it was him who wanted to see Nico, not the other way around.
Nico kept his eyes at Will and there was something in those dark eyes that Will couldn’t really put his fingers on.
“I thought you wanted me to have a check-up every time I got back from a quest?”
Of course.
Will tried to ease the dull pain in his heart by giving Nico a small smile. “Yeah. Of course. Need to make sure that you won’t fade into the shadows again, huh?” Will let out a nervous chuckle. “I mean, I am your doctor, and a doctor only wants the best for his patients.”
This time Nico stayed silent as he nodded. Will gestured to a nearby cot with his chin.
“Now, if you could just sit down over there, please?”
Still saying nothing, Nico strode to the cot and quickly sat there. Will took a deep breath, mentally telling himself to be professional, and let it out in a long exhale. He made his way to where Nico was waiting for him.
The check-up was a regular one. And there was nothing new about how touching Nico made stupid butterflies do some stupid dancing in his stomach. He ached to ask Nico questions about what happened in the quest and why it took so long. He wanted to know whether Nico ever thought of him while he was on the quest the way Will kept on thinking about him while he was away. He wanted to listen to Nico talk to him, with that slight accent that made his voice so melodious, almost like he was singing.
But it would only scare Nico away.
So he kept his eyes at the board where he jotted down the notes about Nico’s vitals.
“So, uhm… This quest was a bit longer than usual, huh?” Will asked, almost proud of himself that his voice sounded normal.
Nico hummed as he put his jacket back on. “Yeah, we had an unexpected encounter with some empousai. Luckily, David is unexpectedly good at fighting.”
At the mention of the name, Will lifted his head up. “David? You mean the new camper? That Athena kid?”
Nico nodded. “Yeah. For someone who never held a sword before, I have to say that I’m impressed.”
A strange, nauseating heat flared inside Will’s stomach. “Really?”
“Yup. In fact, I promised to give him an extra lesson in sword-fighting tomorrow.”
That strange heat swirled even more inside Will. He stretched his lips into a lame attempt to smile at Nico.
“Oh,” Will said. “Nice.”
“In one way, he strangely reminded me of Percy, you know? The way he held his sword.” And Nico continued talking for a while about that stupid new guy. Will listened, humming every now and then just to show Nico that he’s listening.
Half of his mind wished that the harpies would find that David kid to be a nice target for their dinner. The other half of his mind scowled at him for having that kind of evil wish.
“Okay. Everything looks good. Just make sure that you drink enough water,” Will said as he wrote the date and signed his name on the bottom part of the report.
“So I can go now?”
Will nodded. “Yeah, you’re free to go now,” he answered as he walked back to his desk to put the record in the folder.
“And you’re not even offering to walk me back to my Cabin like a good Southern gentleman?”
Will spun on his heel quickly. He stared at Nico with wide eyes, thinking that he might have been hallucinating.
“What?”
Nico snorted and slid down from the cot. “Never mind. I need to report to Chiron first anyway.”
Will blinked, and it took him a full two seconds before he had his voice again.
“Nico-“
But Nico was already one step away from the door. He stopped and looked at Will over his shoulder. The left tip of his lips curled up, just slightly, forming a ghost of a smile. He gave a two-finger salute to Will.
“I’ll see you around, Solace.”
Not waiting for Will to answer him, Nico stepped away. And just like that, he’s out of sight.
Will stared at the open door. There is this hollowness inside his heart that he couldn't explain. Like he just missed a chance.
He always thought that he’s a good guy. Or at least, he’s trying to.
But would he ever be good enough, though?
***
“What are you doing here?”
Lou Ellen’s voice startled Will.
“Me? Uh…” Will scrambled to pick up the book that he just dropped and showed it to Lou, like he was trying to prove something. “I was reading!”
Lou Ellen stared at him with a glint of amusement in her eyes as she gave Will the Look. The ‘don’t-give-me-bullshit’ Look.
“What, am I not allowed to read in peace?” Will said, a bit defensively.
“Hey, it’s cool dude,” Lou said. “In fact, it was nice to see you somewhere else aside from the infirmary,” she added.
Will relaxed a bit, going back to lean his back on the tree.
“I can see why you choose this spot. It’s much quieter than the infirmary on your busy days,” Lou said.
Will hummed.  His eyes flickered to the far left, to the clearing a few yards away, just for a split second before he opened his book.
“And the view from here is also… decent.”
Lou Ellen’s tone made Will quickly look up again at the daughter of Hecate. She’s now grinning at him, like she just figured something out.
“How long have you been spying on those two?” Lou asked, gesturing with her chin to two demigods in the clearing who seemed to just finished sparring.
Will gaped at her. He blinked and quickly shook his head. “What? No! I’ve told you, I was reading here!”
But Lou Ellen didn’t seem to care about Will’s reaction as she waved at the demigods in the clearing.
“Hey, Nico! David!”
Will’s eyes widened in horror this time as he turned his head around, only to see that Nico and the new Athena kid walked towards them.
“Lou!” he hissed in annoyance.
Lou Ellen just gave him a teasing smirk. “What?”
Will groaned and quickly stood up, his book abandoned on the grass as he unconsciously ran a hand over his wild locks.
“Hey,” Nico greeted. “What’s up?”
Nothing’s up aside from his heartbeat, Will would like to answer. But of course, he kept it to himself as he tried his best to school his face into a relaxed, nonchalant, I’m-just-chilling-here expression.
“Nothing much,” Lou Ellen shrugged her shoulders. “You two are sparring together here? Why? Is the arena too mainstream for you?”
The new Athena kid gave a half-smile as he brushed off some hair from covering his eyes. “It was my request, actually,” he said. “I just want to have a...” he waved his right in a vague circular motion, like trying to find the exact word to say. “A more… realistic view when fighting a monster?”
That didn’t really make sense to Will. But it seemed to be an acceptable reason for Lou Ellen as she nodded at him.
“And has Nico been a good teacher for you?” Lou Ellen asked.
Will didn’t miss the way Lou gave him a quick glance.
David’s half-smile turned into a full one. “He is!” He turned his head to Nico and smiled at him, like he was pleased at Nico. “Thanks for teaching me, Nico. You are very good at sword-fighting.”
Nico returned David’s smile with one of his small smiles. A smile that could have filled Will’s chest with warm air. But since he’s not at the receiving end of that smile, it turned Will’s chest into lead instead.
“Anytime. It was a pleasure.”
“You will teach me more, yes? And ah… We also need to talk more. About football.”
This was the first time for Will to really listen to David talking, and he couldn’t help but notice how David’s voice had quite an accent. Especially when he pronounced football, the way he stretched some syllables.
Nico’s face lit up. “Yeah! We should! I know that Cecil played football! Right?” His eyes darted from Will to Lou Ellen, like asking for confirmation.
“Cecil? He does. I can take you to talk to him. Come on,” Lou Ellen quickly pulled the sleeve of David’s shirt and led him away from the other two demigods.
Will watched the backs of Lou Ellen and David who were walking away from them. He could feel nervousness starting to creep in on him as their voices slowly faded away, as he realized that he’s now alone with Nico.
Not that he hated to be with Nico. It’s just… this wasn’t his plan. He wasn’t prepared. And Will hated it when things didn’t go as he planned. He hated it when he was unprepared.
“David played football,” Nico said just when David and Lou Ellen disappeared from their sight.
Will angled his neck to look at Nico. “And when you said football, did you mean soccer?”
“I mean football,” Nico answered, turning on his heels a little so now he was facing Will. “The real football.”
Will snorted and slid down to sit on the grass. “They’re the same,” he said, leaning his back on the tree.
Nico followed Will, sitting on the grass. “It will always be football for me,” he said. There was a melancholic tone lacing his voice. And it made Will wonder, maybe it’s something that Nico used to play. In the streets in Venice, when he was just a kid who had no idea that Greek gods and goddesses were real.
“We, David and I, we were talking about playing here. I mean, it would be great, you know? David said he played midfield. I’m usually,” Nico paused, but quickly continued. “I mean, I used to play as a striker. If we can connect well, that would be really cool.”
Will closed his eyes while his stomach churned with a strange, unpleasant feeling. So, not only was this David kid good in sword-fighting, he’s good in soccer too?
“Do you play too? I mean, you can be the goal keeper. I guess you would be great. I mean, you’re tall and it would be a great asset for a goalkeeper.”
Will huffed. Stuck between the goalposts while watching Nico and David scoring goals? Yeah. No, thank you.
“We’ll see about that,” Will said, still with his eyes closed.
For a while, none of them said anything. Will opened his eyes when he heard Nico sighed. He turned his head, watching Nico stand up. Nico brushed his pants, and gave Will a small smile.
“I’ll see you around, Solace.”
Will wondered why that smile looked a bit strained, but returned it anyway. “Yeah. I’ll see you around.”
He watched as Nico walked away.
Someone would be a good guy for Nico, he thought. And even though Will was a good guy, maybe he just wasn’t good enough. So of course, someone would be a good guy for Nico. Someone else. Not Will.
***
Will didn’t even know why he was here, standing awkwardly near the table where the food and drinks were.
Oh, yes. Because Cecil and Lou Ellen practically dragged him here, to this stupid Halloween party organized by the Aphrodite Cabin.
It’s not that Will disliked Halloween. And it wasn’t like he hated Halloween parties either. What he didn’t like, was seeing Nico talking with David at the other corner of the room. Just looking at the sight made a strange, nauseating fire flame inside of him.
“Pining over di Angelo again?” Lou Ellen nudged him on his shoulder.
“Yeah. How long are you going to act like this Will? Playing it cool while we all know how you wish you’re the one talking to di Angelo instead of David?” Cecil joined Lou Ellen in interrogating Will.
Will only rolled his eyes. “I don’t know what you guys are talking about,” he mumbled, and took another sip of Coke from his cup. He tried to watch the campers who were dancing in the middle of the floor. Some kids from the Hermes cabin somehow got a hold of speakers. And of course, with a little help from the Hephaestus kids, the party had a cool sound system that was now playing pop music.
Lou Ellen sighed. Will stole another glance at where Nico was standing. David was leaning a little to whisper something at Nico. The proximity between those two made it a little bit harder for Will to breathe. He wondered what it was that David was telling Nico. But then Nico turned his head to Will. And no matter how cliché it might sound, Will’s heart skipped a beat when their eyes met. Will quickly looked down to the floor.
Next to him, Lou Ellen clicked her tongue.
“You know what? I can’t take this anymore. It’s been MONTHS. This has got to end tonight,” she said. Ignoring Will’s protest, she grabbed Will’s wrist and pulled him along with her, walking towards Nico and David.
A few seconds later, Will was standing with a flustered face in front of Nico and David.
“Hey, Nico, David! You guys enjoying the party?”
David gave that half-smile again. “Ah, yes. The party is nice.” He angled his neck just a bit so now he was looking right at Will. The half-smile subtly transformed into a knowing smirk. “And you? You… You are the healer, yes? Will?”
Will forced himself to smile politely at David. “Yeah. That’s me.”
David gave a single nod. “Nico talked a lot about you. A lot of good things.”
Will blinked. His eyes darted to Nico, but the raven-haired boy looked away from him. Still, his cheeks were a dark shade of red.
“Is that Cecil over there? I think I want to talk to him,” David suddenly said as he pointed at Cecil with his chin. “Lou Ellen? Come with me?”
Lou Ellen grinned as she nodded and made a 90-degree turn on her heels. “Yeah, come on, David. Let's leave these two idiots.”
And just like that, they left Will again, standing awkwardly less than two feet away from Nico.
“Uh… I didn’t expect to see you here,” Will said.
Nico turned his head at Will, an eyebrow slightly raised up. “Oh? I thought you were the one saying that I need to work on my social skill.”
Will gave Nico a small smile. “Yeah. So. Good to see you here, then. I mean, for your social skills and all.”
Nico stared at Will. And there was just something behind those dark eyes. Something that Will couldn’t put into words. Something that made him unable to look away.
“Aren’t you going to ask me to dance, Solace?”
The question got Will off-guard. Of all the questions in the world, it’s probably the most unexpected one.
“Huh?”
Nico held his eyes at Will’s for another second, but then he looked away. “Never mind,” he said, half-mumbling. His cheeks blushed again into dark cherry color.
“But… do you want to, though?”
Nico’s head turned back to Will. “Want to do what?”
“Dance? Do you…want to?”
Nico bit his lower lip and he looked down for a second. When he looked up back at Will, his charcoal eyes were soft.
“Depends.”
“On what?”
“On who’s asking me to.”
Will’s heart started to jump around in his chest.
“What if it’s me asking you?”
The eyes that were staring back at him were now smiling.
“Then I guess, it depends on the song, then.”
Will’s heart was probably doing some crazy somersaults right now, but his lips curled up without him even thinking about it.
“Well, it’s my favorite song that they’re playing right now. I hope it suits you?” he asked, carefully offering his hand.
Nico’s smile was as soft as the look in his eyes. And the moment their fingertips touched, Will’s heart soared high and suddenly his chest was filled with warm, light air.
As Will led Nico to the floor, he thought about how long he has been wanting to do this, to hold Nico’s hand in his.
They swayed along with the music. Nico’s left hand felt perfect in his right hand. Will’s left hand rested on Nico’s hip and Will couldn’t care less about the other people dancing around them.
“Your dancing is better than your singing,” Nico said, a playful smile on his lips.
Will chuckled. “My grandma said a real Southern gentleman must know how to dance. And I remember my Mama dancing with me when I was a kid.”
“Your Mam raised you well, I have to say.”
Will hummed. “I’m a good mama’s boy, I can promise you that.”
“I can see that, Will. Everyone can see that.”
“See what?”
“That you’re a good guy.”
This time Will held his eyes at Nico. “I try to be,” he said. “But… Would I ever be good enough for you?”
Nico huffed. “And you said I was the dense one.”
“What do you mean?”
“I mean…” Nico stopped, but his feet kept on moving. He sighed. “Gods, do I really have to spell it out to you?” He asked, sounding exasperated as he looked away from Will.
Hope bloomed inside of Will and he grinned and oh, how he wanted to shout and laugh. He took his hand off Nico’s hip so he could gently cup Nico’s cheek, guiding him to face him back.
“Do you mean you like me?” Will asked.
“Well, do you like me?”
Will chuckled and he could feel a stupid smile creeping in. “Why do you even have to ask?”
Nico shrugged his shoulders. “I don’t know. Because you’re nice to me but you’re also nice to everyone? Because you don’t seem to care even if I talk about someone else? Because you…” Nico stopped again and shook his head. “I don’t know. Maybe because I just…don’t know?”
Will squeezed Nico’s hand just a bit tighter. “I was just… I was just afraid that I’m not good enough for you.”
Nico rolled his eyes. But his lips twitched, like he tried to hold back a smile.
“You’re a good guy, Will. You’re a good guy to everyone. But sometimes I hope that you can be my good guy.”
It’s like a thousand birds were singing inside of Will now as he felt like he was floating in this bubble of happiness.
“Then I’ll be yours, Death Boy.”
Will wrapped his arms around Nico, and pulled him into his embrace.
“I’ll be your good guy, then. I’ll be your everything.”
Nico pulled himself a little away from Will. He looked up at Will and the light in his eyes was like the most beautiful star in a dark night.
“Everything?”
“Everything. Anything you need.”

"The Librarians and the Bleeding Crown":
"Do you think I'm gonna be good at being old? It's just, I never thought I'd get the chance! :) :)" Oh, Cass
Ah, so that's what "multi-Doctor story" meant. Multi-Librarian! Fun!
I did take a minute to wonder if it was a time-travel situation or more like that David Tennant special, but apparently it is time travel.
INCREDIBLE levels of fanboying from Flynn (which sets this apart from a multi-Doctor story ;P).
...Flynn identifies with the Library so strongly. Of course he knows all about past Librarians. They're like a family tree to him.
Ooh, this Librarian has a nemesis. That's how you know he's cool.
"Yes, Conan Doyle based his detective on me. Apparently it was supposed to be a compliment." Listen, I never believe anyone who claims to be the inspiration for Sherlock Holmes at this point. There are so many of them out there.
...But also if this man is from 130 years in the past, that should be 1887. Sherlock Holmes shouldn't EXIST yet, sir!! What do you know??
Okay, he came from August 5th, 1888, and Study in Scarlet was first published Christmas 1887 (and republished in book form in July 1888), so it is possible for him to know of Holmes if he already knows Doyle... but it's not likely for him to understand who Flynn's talking about just from the phrase "Moriarty to his Holmes." Call him out on this, Jacob, you know publication dates.
I like this guy, though. He's got a zest for life.
Eve's childhood heroes were her mom, her dad, Cinderella, and Ripley. Yeah, that tracks.
Flynn DOES tell the guy that the others are Librarians, but only when they're not there to hear. I don't know if they'd appreciate that...
...but it's also possible Flynn expected him to have a negative reaction, and was glossing the whole thing over until the trio weren't there to hear any explosions.
Flynn, probably: "Fire the others?? Yeah, sure, if I wanted to lose my Guardian and the only person left who's been around over fifteen years and very possibly the actual Library as a result. That sounds like a thing that's going to happen."
Old-age prosthetics for everyone!
"Two Librarians fought over their shared power and started a war that lasted nearly a thousand years" well it can't have been a very bad war, frankly, if it lasted all that long and the rest of history managed to go on around it. I'm just saying.
Jenkins: "Yes, but these Librarians wouldn't go to war." Tell 'im, Jenkins.
Okay, listen. Judson and Charlene are gone. Flynn and Eve are planning to fill those vacancies. They need one of the trio, minimum. And you know what? You could probably juggle roles around so the three of them weren't sharing the same office, if you really needed to. Switch one of them over to Guardian. Make one of them "officially" a Custodian—I'm sure you could use more than one, even if you had to build a new Annex as their nominal headquarters. Firing them, even in the last resort, is excessive.
Ahhhh. I was willing to accept the querulous-old-people behavior as being there for Comedy Points, but it was a trick. It wasn't actually them. That's how you use your genre as camouflage, people!
I love how they kept doing more of the Nemesis Banter until it reached the point that we, along with Flynn, realize that oh. yeah. If you have no friends, the only important person filling that role is your enemy.
NEMESES. Honestly.
...Hang on, he first met his nemesis in 1868? And we meet him in 1888? Flynn's the record-holding Librarian at ten years. What, were they nemeses for ten years before he even became a Librarian??
I want to appreciate the fact that when Flynn almost told the guy about his impending death, absolutely no one in the room moved to stop him. They support his choices, even if that includes breaking the Laws of Time.
Oh, okay. History can be rewritten. That's a game-changer!
Dying wishes are emotional blackmail. That's hitting below the belt.
