truthfully i dont even blame the depop ppl for the thriftpocolypse. like i been a lifelong thrifter and even before depop theres always been vintage upsell stores, always been that type of thing, but it never impacted my ability to find quality items at thrift stores there was always enough to go around. its just that weve recently hit this point in time where the overall decline in quality has been present for long enough that the majority of stuff entering thrift stores now even the stuff that people are digging out of their storage units after 5-10 years is all trash. plus the addition of shein crap because people will dispose of it after 6 months like its nothing. Anything that is of quality is a needle in a haystack at this point and the industry is to blame like if there was better quality control all along this wouldnt be happening..

hear me out on this ok. ROTS AU where Anakin still turns to the dark side but that's Palpatine's problem.
So, Palpatine decides last minute that ehhhh maybe dooku could come in handy later and he doesn't encourage Anakin to kill him, and Dooku gets arrested and imprisoned in the Jedi Temple awaiting trial. (Also he didn't get his hands cut off because of uhh plot reasons?)
Fast forward.
Palpatine is encouraging Anakin towards the Dark side, tells him about Plagueis the Wise, etc. etc. But see, the thing is, Anakin is at the end of his tether, probably hasn't slept more than three hours over the past week, and has no remaining impulse control or inhibitions, and upon hearing that the Dark Side can save people from death, his first thought is, "wait a sec, we've got a Sith Lord in-house at the moment!" and he sprints out of the space opera and books it back to the temple.
Now, Dooku has been calmly waiting in Temple custody, confident that Darth Sidious will arrange his escape. But THEN Anakin barges into the cell like OMG THE CHANCELLOR TOLD ME THE SITH KNOW HOW TO KEEP PEOPLE FROM DYING AND I'M HAVING DREAMS ABOUT SOMEONE DYING AND I NEED YOUR HELP TO SAVE THEM
At which point, Dooku realizes Palpatine's plan. He's going to tempt Skywalker to the Dark side and REPLACE DOOKU. this is totally uncool.
So he's like "...who are you dreaming about, exactly?"
Anakin freezes. He can't admit it's Padme because their relationship is top-secret and he can't admit how important she is to him so he tries to think of a good fib and goes "uhhhh OBI-WAN! Obi-Wan, it's Obi-Wan, I'm dreaming about Obi-Wan dying-" and he just throws himself into the drama because now he IS imagining obi-wan dying because Obi-Wan is fighting grievous at the moment and he MIGHT ACTUALLY DIE and that's in addition to Padme dying and he's totally spiraling at this point- "pleasepleaseplease you gotta help me he's like the only father i've ever known I don't know what i'll do without obi-wan I have to save him YOU GOTTA TELL ME WHAT TO DO I'LL DO ANYTHING--"
Dooku begins to smile.
(Would stealing Skywalker out from under his Master's nose be petty? Oh, yeah.)
(But it would also be very, very satisfying.)
---
Obi-Wan calls in to a council meeting to report his defeat of Grievous, but before he can say so, Mace announces that Dooku has escaped and the Sith Master has been killed.
Silence falls between the eleven councilmembers (eleven, not twelve, because their newest one is conspicuously absent. Obi-Wan wonders just what Anakin's up to now. Honestly, that boy will be the death of him.)
Obi-Wan clears his throat.
"...indeed," he says, trying to handle the shocking news with composure. "Well... at least we're down to one Sith, now."
Another awkward pause.
"Yeah, about that--" Mace begins.

I love the comic book writing sensibility that Frequency has, like how Three and Five's ending is great for the story being told but if it were a published comic it would still leave them on the table for if a future writer wanted to use them.
whats funny is that despite doing my best to keep in line with dc comics/comic writing sensibilities throughout the fic (staying as comics-accurate as possible in terms of continuity/tone/characterization/story elements etc) that particular comic writing reality was one that was like. kind of a genuine anxiety that i didn't know i had until i started writing this thing.
ive said before that in the original concept for Frequency all of the clones (besides Thad) were going to end up dead. whether it was via killing each other or unintentionally being the instrument of their own demise (disney villain style). obviously it changed because creating an entire narrative about this one character's redemption arc and then not allowing any of the other villains to have a shot at redemption felt hypocritical and like. mean. not to mention antithetical to the whole ethos of the story.
but the reason why killing off all the other clones was my first instinct is partially because i had this kinda subconscious recoil to the idea that any of them would actually continue on after the story was over.
like, because i was trying to stick to canon so much, while figuring out the story a thought came up a couple times that basically went like, "okay, well, if this was a real comic, then...". and inevitably i had a realization that if this WAS a real comic, my original clone characters would be canonized, and therefore available to any future writer who wanted to yank them out of their respective endgames and inject them into other stories. which i Did Not Like the Idea Of.
classic "making up a guy to get mad at" except it was more "making up a reality to get anxious about". because obviously no matter how much it sticks to canon, Frequency still exists in a fan-created space.
but! i'd never made up original characters to put in my own fanmade stuff before and was definitely feeling protective. because all those original clones i made had yknow: a story purpose and narrative function to facilitate the actual key characters, Thad and Bart. the idea of them being removed from that context in any capacity, even if it was in the hands of a good writer, made me have this gut "no STOP you're ruining it!!!!" reaction.
they were all made for Frequency, and to foil Thad as a character, i didnt like the idea of Three being brought back as a one-note villain or Jude and Nathaniel getting folded into the wider Flash cast of allies. and none of them were made to be main character material. plus the character roster at DC is already uhh Extremely Stacked i genuinely did not want the takeaway to be "and here's the nEW ADDITIONS TO THE FLASH FAMILY!" because that wasnt the intention
anyway i got over it lol. i still did my best not to leave any loose ends, and have each ending be wholly satisfying on its own, and ideally the oc clones basically continue on offscreen while the true adventures are based around Thad and Bart. but yeah it felt right to leave off on that note (and served the story much better than killing everybody off)

so funny when on this site someone will make an innocuous observation abt their follower count going up or down and there's just like. a sea of people going
"WOW. you PAY ATTENTION to that????? could never be me bc i am so unbothered and unique"
or just the flood of posts just in general being so pretentious abt not noticing follower count like pleeeease
this is the website where we used to have follower milestone celebrations whoooo cares. who cares!

hi there Frog! I'm so sorry, I'm new to the concept/use of ko-fi. can i just clarify, if I pay via ko-fi, do I get the reading on there or here on tumblr? and for deity readings in particular, do you have examples of questions that are okay/not okay to ask?
thanks ever so much! today i offer you a nice and cool iced tea (as in my SEA country, it's been really hot lately)
Heyo! No need to apologize, the questions are perfectly reasonable! If you pay via Ko-Fi by ordering a commission, you get the reading in Ko-Fi messages (or I'm happy to work with anyone who isn't comfortable with that and send it on Tumblr or smth else if I'm able; I just use Ko-Fi because it's more ✨professional✨ and all that jazz.)
You've probably just seen a couple people tip before getting a Tumblr reading, since they're free/tip-based and that means that you can tip afterwards if you like it, tip not at all, or tip beforehand and get a little more effort put into your reading than a completely free one, but it's still not a full reading (unless you count a Ko-Fi single shuffle.) It's all for the sake of accessibility price-wise! It does make it easy to confuse what type of reading I'm doing where though, seeing some people mention tipping for their readings on Tumblr.
As for example questions.... hmmmm good question! Most things are on the table, honestly. My "won't do" list is fairly small right now, simply because I haven't been doing readings online very long and no one has come to me with questions I haven't been comfortable answering yet. Even if it's not on the commission list, for example, I encourage people to message me and ask if I'll do a specific type of reading because I may just have not thought of it.
Some okay question examples:
"Does [deity] have anything to say to me/about xyz situation?"
"Does [deity] want to work with me?"
"what areas of my life or craft do they want to help with?"
"What do they have to say about [insert situation]?"
Just about anything tbh! Like I said these are pretty generic examples and you can get a lot more situation-specific if you want to.
Some uncomfortable question examples:
Honestly I've typed and re-typed this part but ultimately it comes down to; not a lot. Most things I'm not comfortable with don't really apply to deity readings.
Anything sexual. Godspousal questions are okay; just not anything sexual about it. This applies to all readings though lol
Generally plz don't see me as an authority. if something doens't resonate, it just doesn't resonate- I'm capable of making mistakes. I'm confident in my readings, but that doesn't make me perfect 100% of the time.
Even if a question did hit a nerve I wouldn't be upset or anything I'd just request that the question be reworded or changed to something I'm okay with :D
Thank you so much for the ask, I hope this helps! Let me know if anything needs further clarification, I'm happy to answer any questions and such. And of course; HELL YEAH iced tea!! I don't drink tea funnily enough, despite it being such a witchy stereotype, but I shall refill my water bottle >:D
