Small warning in this: very light swearing, light mentions of deaths, and tw light touching on the subject of abuse, like very light. But still an fyi.

Danny was used to his main Rogues (Boxy, Ember, Skulker, etc etc, you know those guys) showing up randomly and at odd hours, causing some chaos around town due to their own boredom or just wanting some fun (the more deadly ones were rare to show up and his main Rogues do at least respect him enough to give him the rest of the day off when they sense a ‘big bad’ fight), he fights them, wins, before he send them back to the portal. Then they rinse and repeat this for the next day.

So as he really wasn’t expecting, especially since he had just sent his ghostly quota for the day back to the portal a few hours ago (Boxy of course, and Youngblood (dressed as a Firefighter this time, though the ending for their fight actually ended on a good note. YB had been asking Danny about space, Danny kinda hoped YB will be an Astronaut next time cause that would be fun)), Johnny 13 (and Shadow) to phase into his room as he was heading to bed.

Honestly (he groaned when he realized who it was, dealing with Johnny, Kitty (and Shadow) during a ‘break up’ or ‘lovers spat’ always was a pain) he was expecting Johnny to just start attacking but before Danny could demanded to know what he was doing in his room Johnny hesitatingly asked if they could talk.

Now Danny, talking to his main Rogues, like legit talking was a very rare thing. But it has happened a few times.

With Johnny asking if they could talk, his face nervous but not in a 'I pissed off Kitty and idk where she ran off to again', Danny nodded and agreed.

"Hey, so like I know we all kinda agreed not to go roaming too far from Amity because of the whole government suits guys and bringing unwanted attention to us ghosts in the names of the Super Dorks but is it alright if Kitty and I head across the state for a few days? Like legit, if he became a ghost we'd still be able to sense our murderer you know!... Anyways she wants to visits her old haunts and maybe see if we can find some old friends, see how they're doing you know. We won't mess with them or anything, just a small pop in..."

Meanwhile in Gotham about three week prior.

A budding Crime Lord had crossed out the face of a older man from a photograph pinned onto a corkboard, below and connected by red strings was two other papers as well. One held the newspaper clipping of two bodies being found in a ditch with the remains of a busted up motorcycle, a young male and female were reportedly found halfway buried in it. The male was reported to be a trouble maker from Crime Alley, knowen for stealing tires while the female was the daughter of a suspected mob boss.

The other string however, lead to a small, yellowed from age and tiny bit damaged photo of three people. The photo held two older, nearly out of their teens, male and female both looking like rough city street kids. A motorcycle could be seen behind them an it was missing a wheel. The young man with blonde hair was kneeling on the ground, his hands holding onto a tire iron and he looked rather proud, the young female was wearing red and had some dye in her hair and was smiling as she held the camera taking the picture in a selfie as best as she could.

In between the two was a young kid, blue eyes and black hair, a beaming smile on his face as his own hands were on top of a tire wheel. A wheel he had finally learned how to take off in record speed thanks to Johnny teaching him.

Green eyes that shifted for a second to teal stared at the photo for a moment before saying

Hi miss butchpeace! Id like to ask for some advice, if thats okay. So Im dating this girl. We have been friends forever, shes has been my best friend for years and after a few months of heavy romantic tension we have decided to start dating a few weeks ago. Everything is great, shes everything i love in a person and she makes me feel great too and understands me more than anyone.

The problem is that we live in a really gendie positive place, and having radfem or even radfem adjacent views is basically like commiting social suicide. And so, i have been concealing my opinions on the gender ideology for the sake of my peace and because we have some trans men on our life. Recently, my gf came out to me as nonbinary. Now i KNOW this is because she has an story of body dysmorphia and self hating. Shes also kinda androgynous and loves the style of many nonbinary people online. She said she doesnt feel like a woman because shes more aligned to that part of the gender spectrum, and that also eventually she would like to take testosterone and get a mastectomy.

I really really dont know what to do. I do love her a lot and i hurt seeing her hating her body so thoroughly to the point of wanting to do this. Every time ive tried to debate even the slightest aspect of the gender ideology ive been kinda shut down and, because im afraid she would hate me forever if she knew i think like this, everytime i just shut up and swallow whatever i want to say. It has never been that big of a problem, since the topic hardly ever came up, but now i dont know what to do with this situation and i feel so alone.

Is there some way i could approach this topic gently and in a way that wouldnt scare her? I really dont want to hurt her or lose her but i feel like i should start to be honest and stop hiding. I just want her to accept herself as she is but i feel like having this conversation with her will destroy our relationship.

That’s a really difficult situation and I feel for you! I’m sure there are other women who have been here and can chime in with their personal experiences.

I hope that since you have been friends for such a long time, that she’ll understand your viewpoint and not end the relationship over this, but sadly that could be how it turns out. Especially for young people who are caught up in all this, you’ve been taught about trans identities since you were pretty young, and I think that makes it hard for people to question it.

My advice is to try talking to her about her dysphoria, what that feels like for her and maybe get into what the cause is. Maybe talk to her about the fact that lots of masculine lesbians in older generations have struggled with dysphoria, but that they overcame it and didn’t end up transitioning. Tell her that you’ve seen older women talk about that online and that it might help her to talk to older butch women about their experiences before making these choices.

If you can find a way to connect to your local community, especially if you can find older lesbian women who aren’t as involved in the trans stuff, that could also be a big deal. Going to pride or any intergenerational meet up in your area, things like that. A huge part of what went into my transition was that I didn’t have that. I didn’t see older women who were like me and who I could see as role models.

I think a big thing will be talking to her about testosterone. The negative effects of it, and the fact that usually the physical changes that women want the most from it - body fat and muscle redistribution - only stay that way if you continue to take T at a high dose. It causes bad acne in a lot of women, it doesn’t really change your voice to what a normal man sounds like (it mainly just damages your vocal chords and gives you a gravelly sound), it can cause lasting reproductive issues like painful or irregular periods, hair loss can start early, and that’s all just within a short time period or on a low dose.

Basically just talking to her about the reality of what being on T means, and that it’s not going to be the fantasy that she made in her head.

I think this is a good place to start, because instead of coming across as critical of trans identity as a whole, you’re talking to her about her feelings, showing that you hear her and care about those feelings. And you’re talking about her health and what these choices will actually do for her over the long run. Remember to let her talk, and to lead the conversation without sounding like you’re judging her.

Generally, masculine women want T because they have a vague idea that it’s going to make them “more masculine”, but there’s a real lack of understanding of what that’s really going to mean in a material sense, and what it’s really going to mean in terms of how people perceive them. Mastectomy is the same way. It really changes the way that people see you and think about you. Your girlfriend will always be seen as “trans” if she does T and gets a mastectomy. That’s just how it is. And it’s important for her to understand the impact that will have on her future.

There’s no such thing as a “non-binary transition”. She’ll be seen as a medically altered female and assumed to be a trans man.

Good luck and I’m sorry you’re both going through this 🫂 I hope you come out the other side happier and with a stronger relationship than before 🌈

man. idk i know i kinda went on a similar rant last year during the games 10th so hopefully this wont be too long but if you told me that 10 years ago i would have become OBSESSED with this stupid ass game id probably believe it. man tlm just came out and it was my THING i was getting back into clutch powers too so. i always like to joke that one way or another i would have been dragged into the hell that this game took me down into. but something about this year being my personal 10th!!! idk!!!! i had time to reflect on my entire journey that lead me here. all the stupid AUs and fanfics and shit i dont post/talk about and keep to myself vs the things i do end up putting out there. i dont joke when i say im obsessed they really did infect my every thought, action, being, personality, ALL OF IT. which is why it makes me sad that i could do everything i wanted for reasons both in and out of my control. and it sucks cus i love this game so much, i love THEM so much. i dont know where id be without them, they and the game makes me so happy in ways sometimes you wouldnt believe. i love that more has come out about the game and its slowly but surely broken apart, i love collecting my pieces of merchandise that i bet some people dont even know EXISTED, i love setting up my yearly displays with them, i love that i have a laptop strong enough that can run the game and i can play it again if i wanted to! even if all i ever draw is chase and natalia know that i truly do love EVERYTHING about this game. im always planing but never drawing. so many ideas in the backburner that id love to put out but i dont feel like im there yet to make it perfect. these pieces/ideas can and WILL come out tho, sadly not durring the year of my 10th but who knows what the freaking future holds.... and you know, i was rambling earlier when i was putting this together that i remembered everything about these drawings, where i was in life, what i was thinking/doing etc. etc. its this time capsule that special to me and my journey. from someone who hated all their art and would constantly delete it to someone who went digging for as much as i could so that someday in the future id have something to really look back on and see the passage of time (aw man) right in front of me. im super happy i did. so many memories of me being online and losing my damn mind, walking/talking in circles about the same thing, hoping and wishing something new would happen with them. some of my friends have seen the spiral since day ONE and i think thats funny. cus it really has been that long hasn't it.
