Tumblr media
You go back to Alexia after taking some space with the hope to reconcile.
You were absolutely fuming. Alexia had a way of acting like a complete dumbass sometimes. What should have been a nice night out with the team turned into something much more complicated. You wanted to have a good time and enjoy yourself, but then Alexia got jealous. She had a bad habit of getting jealous, and you had finally reached your limit.
It had been over a week and a half since the incident, and you were still pissed. You had seen Alexia since then, but you were wildly good at ignoring her at practice. The two of you lived together, but you hadn't been home since that night. Alexia was hurting, and you were also struggling, but you needed to prove your point.
In the time that you'd been away, you had practically flocked to your older sister. Marta loved you, and she would always take care of you, even if it strained her own relationship a little. You and Caroline were pretty close friends, but it was a little overwhelming for her to live with two very outgoing Spanish women. You knew that you were getting close to the end of your stay, even if you weren't quite ready to face Alexia again.
"Nena, I think that it is time you go back home for a bit. Not a single thing you're wearing right now actually belongs to you." There was a teasing lilt to your sister's voice, but you knew that she was serious. Behind her, you could see Caro standing in the hallway. She seemed a bit more anxious than normal, the kind that came with a certain air of guilt. "I can take you back in a bit."
"It's fine, I'll call a cab," you told her. Marta frowned as she watched you pack up your things. She hadn't meant that you had to leave immediately, but you definitely seemed to take it that way. You weren't mad at her, not really, but Marta knew that it would be a good idea to steer clear of you for the rest of the week.
You had always been very passionate, and with that came a lot of different feelings. Marta knew how hard it could be for you to calm down. Something seemingly small would stay with you for so long, and despite all of the work you had done to stop that habit, you could never quite shake it.
Marta sighed as you seemed to be gone before she could really stop you. A part of her wondered if she had made the right decision sending you away so early. She knew that things with Alexia could potentially get much worse, especially if Alexia was mad at you for stepping away for so long. Marta hadn't ever seen the two of you fight, but she had been there to pick up some of the pieces in the aftermath. Things between you and Alexia were generally pretty good, even if both of you were beyond stubborn.
Alexia's car was gone when your ride dropped you off. Your car was in the garage, so Alexia always parked hers outside, despite it being the nicer vehicle. It was just one of the many things that Alexia did to take care of you. You could be a bit tempermental, but Alexia always tried her hardest to take care of you. It wasn't a good thought, but slowly, you began to wonder if you'd be able to find someone else who was willing to do that.
"Why are you sitting outside? You're getting burned," Alexia said as she ran over towards you. For a moment, you thought she was going to pull you out of the chair, but she skidded to a stop before she could touch you.
"I've been gone for a while, and I wasn't really sure whether you'd want me to come inside after everything," you told her. Alexia scoffed at that as she pulled you into a hug. "I'm sorry that I ran away, I just didn't want the fight to get worse. Please forgive me."
"You did the right thing. I was mad at first, but sometimes I forget how we go back and forth. You'd give me space if I wanted it, and sometimes, I need to remember to give it to you too. I was completely out of line for how I acted that night, and I am sorry, so please forgive me," Alexia pleaded with you. She held you in the hug to keep you from seeing her cry, but you could feel the tears begin to soak through the collar of the shirt you were wearing.
"Of course I forgive you, Ale," you told her. Alexia's body sagged down a bit as she relaxed in your arms. "Can we go inside now please?"
Alexia nodded as she wrapped her arm around your waist. You let her stay tucked against you as the two of you went inside. Alexia only let go of you once you were inside to go back out and grab your bag for you. You went straight into the bedroom to shower and change into clothes that were actually yours as Alexia started a load of laundry and called to order lunch for the two of you.
"I know that we kind of made up already, and I do not want to upset you, but I think we need to talk about what happened. Could we try to do that in a calm manner?" Alexia asked you. You nodded as you made room for her to sit with you on the bed. You knew that Alexia really didn't want to fight because she had brought the takeout to you instead of leaving it in the living room for later. "Will you please go first? I'd like to know what exactly happened that upset you so much."
"You embarrassed me in front of everybody. It's hard enough for the team to see me as my own person. I've been Marta's baby sister, then I was your girlfriend, and right when I started to feel like me, you showed everybody different," you told her. Alexia's face softened as she listened to you explain your feelings. She had never really thought about things like that before. You had always just been (Y/n) to her, but as she thought about it, the more she realized that she saw many people refer to you in regards to someone else.
"Yes, you're Marta's sister and my girlfriend, but that's not all you are. It isn't anybody else's fault that the world doesn't understand your value. I forget that not everybody knows you like I do, so I am sorry for stepping in the way I did. You know how I get, but if you're willing to be patient, I will work on being better," Alexia promised you. There was never going to be a world where you wouldn't give Alexia a second chance.

--
If you had asked Sarah Cameron what her life would look like at one point, she would’ve never told you this. She would’ve never guessed she’d be living with five Pogues who happened to be her best friends, and one Pogue leader boyfriend. That seemed impossible, but here she was.
John B was still passed out in bed, having carried you to your own at some point during the night to be tucked under warm blankets. Kie was snoring away, and Pope and Cleo had yet to emerge from their room, so Sarah had the house to herself, technically.
She made her way out early in the morning when the sun was just peeking through, steering her bicycle into the downtown area. It was still trashed, obviously, but it seemed the worst of the damage had been taken care of and the fires were out. Keeping her head down, she ducked into the pharmacy in hopes of finding the thing she came here to.
Three years ago, if you would’ve asked Sarah Cameron, she would never be stealing pregnancy tests from a pharmacy, and she sure as shit wouldn’t be doing it at age nineteen.
Grabbing the two boxes, she stuffed them in her bag before collecting a handful of other items you all needed at the house. Might as well, considering there was still no power and the store wasn’t secured with the broken glass everywhere.
Shuffling her way out the door, she tried to look as inconspicuous as possible while walking back to her bike. It was clear the riot had continued further past JJ’s departure since most stores were wiped of merchandise and torn to shreds.
The sunshine caught on the shards of glass scattered and Sarah held her hand up to her forehead to block the reflection from burning into her eyes. She came face to face with the local jewelry store window, the one she’d been in just a few weeks before.
--
JJ threw open the door to Sarah and John B’s room without any hesitation, and thank God the duo were actually taking a nap and not enjoying their alone time in other ways.
“Sarah!” JJ’s attempt at whispering was not going well. “Sarah, wake the fuck up!”
The girl in question groaned at being pulled from her slumber. “The fuck, JJ? What?”
The blond boy waited for her to look over at him before he was waving her closer. She huffed and shuffled out of John B’s arms, her boyfriend still snoring soundly with the grace of a heavy sleeper. Following JJ out of their room, she closed the door softly behind her so John B wouldn’t wake up.
“I need your help with something,” JJ explained.
Sarah took one look at his expression and smirked. “Holy shit, you’re so stressed.”
JJ rolled his eyes and grabbed her by her shoulders. “I need you to help me find a ring.”
“A ring? A ring for what?” Sarah repeated in confusion.  JJ shushed her, his index finger pressing against her lips as she went wide-eyed with realization. Sarah was practically jumping now, her excitement evident as she pulled JJ’s hand away from her face. “Holy shit! Are you serious?”
“Yes, now be quiet!” He looked over his shoulder to see if you were done with your shower and found the door still closed and water running. “We have to go now, okay? I don’t want her being suspicious.”
Sarah was quick to agree, bouncing as she ran down the stairs to grab her shoes and purse before meeting JJ by the Twinkie.
The two spent a good two hours in town, Sarah having been former friends with the jewelry store employee who was more than willing to answer any and all of JJ’s questions.
“What size ring does she wear?” Sarah asked as she scanned the cases for anything that caught her eye. “Do you think she’s a princess cut girl like me? Oh my God, this one is gorgeous.”
“Princess cut?” JJ repeated the phrase, eyebrows furrowing in confusion as he looked down at the ring Sarah was pointing at. “The fuck does that mean?”
Sarah looked up at him, dumbfounded. “Do you know the slightest thing about what she wants?”
JJ tilted his head and looked back at her. “Sarah, we’re Pogues. Have been our whole lives. Do you think she even has the slightest clue about what any of this means?”
Accepting defeat with that one, Sarah shrugged and turned back to the options displayed. “Whatever it is, you better make it a good one with all the shit she deals with when it comes to you.” She shoved JJ teasingly and moved to look at another area of the room.
“Yeah, yeah. Whatever you say, Princess Cameron.” JJ rolled his eyes and followed her without any disagreement.
--
Sarah frowned at the memory. The days of peace and hoping for the celebration you and JJ could have were long gone, but she hoped they could find a way to change that. If anyone deserved that happy-ever-after feeling, it was you and JJ.
Biking back to Poguelandia was quiet, and Sarah was thankful for the time to think. She wasn’t sure what she was going to do with the pink tests in her bag and her heart was racing just thinking about it. She was nineteen, John B was almost twenty, but shit they were still young. This wasn’t what she imagined when she thought about having a family. Not in an environment like this.
Sarah tiptoed her way back up the stairs, noticing all the doors were closed except for the one to your room. A tiny part of her was relieved and she peeked in to see the balcony doors open, curtains blowing lightly with the wind. Closing your bedroom door behind her, Sarah made her way out to where you were resting in the hammock with your eyes closed.
“Hi,” She whispered quietly, not wanting to scare you.
You blinked and smiled up at her. “Hi, you okay?”
Sarah bit her lip in response, hand searching blindly in her back for the boxes before she held them up for you to see. “Um… can you-can I do this, in here? With you?”
You nodded, pushing yourself out of the woven hammock to meet her in the doorway, grabbing her hand in yours. Sarah tossed her bag on your bed and followed you into the connected bathroom, forcing a deep breath into her lungs.
“I’ll wait, out… on the other side of the door?” You asked carefully, not sure if she wanted you in the room or not. When she nodded, you squeezed her hand. “Whatever happens, it’ll be okay. I promise.”
“Yeah.” Sarah nodded in agreement, but she was obviously trying to convince herself more than you. You attempted to give her a reassuring smile, but it probably didn’t help considering you were just as nervous for her. She closed the door quietly after that.
You paced the floor for a moment, wanting to give her the space and privacy she deserved while also fighting the bile in your throat. What the fuck happened now?
And where the fuck was JJ?
There had been no texts or calls from your boyfriend since last night, and although you were trying to give him the space and trust he deserved, you were worried. He wasn’t in the right mindset last night, and you didn’t have enough time to talk him down like you wanted to, like you always did.
Grabbing your phone from the charger, you unlocked it and immediately moved to the Find My app where you could see JJ’s location pinging from Goat Island. You cursed, knowing he probably went in search of Groff after the information Luke shared.
JJ deserved answers. He deserved the truth. You shook your head, thinking about how Luke Maybank abused a boy that wasn’t even his, realizing how heartbreaking this whole situation was. It was unfair, and cruel, that everything good in JJ’s life had been ripped from him in some way.
Moving back to your messages, you typed one out: babe you okay?? we can come get you??
The message wasn’t read right away, causing you to sigh, but remind yourself that he might be busy talking to Groff. Or something was wrong. And you really really hoped something wasn’t wrong.
Your bathroom door creaked open slightly, Sarah’s face poking out as you got to your feet. Her expression wasn’t easily readable but she shifted enough for you to see the two tests on counter, both with two bright lines on their screens.
“Okay,” You spoke quietly, watching her expression for any kind of indication of how she felt.
“Impeccable timing,” She replied stoically. You nodded, trying to think of any words to comfort her but were stopped by the sound of footsteps.
“Hey! Is Sarah in here?” There was no time to prepare for Kiara’s sudden presence as she popped up next to you. Her eyes locked in on the bathroom counter instantly and her jaw dropped. The turning gears in her head were practically visible as she turned to face Sarah. “Um… are those yours?”
Sarah bit her lip, clearly nervous at the thought of more people knowing. “Yeah.”
Kiara was instantly looking over at you. “Oh, shit.”
Sarah frowned at the response, her eyes moving between the two of you in attempt to figure out what she was missing. “What? What’s ‘oh shit’ about?”
You shook your head, trying to give Kiara the sign to shut up. “Nothing, nothing. There’s nothing to be worried about-”
Kie thankfully picked up on your clue and started to dig herself out of the hole she created, “I mean… soon to be homeless, broke again, chased by killers. I don’t really know how it could get better.”
Sarah hummed, her eyes glancing back at the positive tests. “It would be like, super great, if maybe you could fine, like, one positive thing,” Her voice was shaky as she looked back at the two of you, eyes damp with tears.
“You’re gonna be an amazing mom,” You answered simply, like it was the easiest thing because it was. Sarah Cameron had all the great qualities that a parent should have, and you were so happy for her. You just wished it had been at a better time.
“The best,” Kie agreed quietly, “And John B loves you. He’s gonna be an all right dad.”
The idea sent the three of you into laughter at the thought of John B, your John B, raising a kid.
“And you have all of us,” You continued as you reached out to grab Sarah’s hand again. “Each and every one of us.”
Sarah nodded, her arms opening to pull you and Kiara into a group hug. “I love you guys.”
“We love you,” Kiara replied, her hand squeezing your side just a little bit tighter in an unspoken conversation. “So, what does this make me Auntie Kie now?”
The three of you pulled apart with more laughter, the cloud over your heads slowly disappearing with each passing minute.
“Does… does John B know?” Kiara asked after a moment. Sarah pulled the tests off the counter, tossing them in the boxes and into the garbage with a shake of her head, telling Kiara that he didn’t, not yet.
“Any word from JJ?” Sarah switched the topic to pull the attention off herself.
You glanced at your phone to see an empty lockscreen and shook your head in response. “No. I have an idea of where he is, I just don’t know if he needs us yet.”
Eventually, Sarah slipped downstairs to make breakfast, finding John B already up and moving around the kitchen with the smell of bacon lingering.
“Hi,” She greeted softly, kissing his cheek before unloading the items she had stolen from the store into the fridge. “Didn’t think you were up.”
John B flipped a piece of bacon. “Heard you laughing with the girls, figured I’d come get something started before we head out for the day. When did you go out?”
“Early,” Sarah replied shortly, her chest tight with the possibility of John B overhearing the news before she could share it. “Did you.. Did you hear us?”
He gave her a quick glance before putting the butter back in the fridge. “Laughing? Yeah, but that was about it. Everything okay?”
Sarah nodded as John B wrapped her in a hug, kissing her forehead gently. “Your sister knows where JJ is.”
John B blinked in surprise at the fact that you weren’t busting down the stairs. “And we’re not going to him because?”
Sarah shrugged. “She said she wants to wait, to see if he needs us.”
While John B wasn’t sure that was the best idea, nobody knew JJ better than you, so he had no room to argue with the decision.
“The ring was gone. From the jewelry shop.”
John B nearly choked on his own spit and coughed to clear his throat. Sarah giggled at the reaction, a smile spreading across her cheeks at the way he blushed.
“You’re lying. Please tell me you’re lying.”
“Nope,” She popped the p in her word and waved her left hand in front of his face where her homemade ring rested on her finger. “We’re not going to be special anymore, Vlad.”
John B smiled at the nickname that he hadn’t heard in a while. “You’re always gonna be special to me, Val.”
You walked down the stairs a few moments later, now dressed for the day and stomach growling with the scent of food. “Hey,” You greeted John B as he set a plate full of eggs on the table while Sarah dipped upstairs to tell the others that food was ready. “Thanks for last night, you didn’t have to stay.”
John B sat outside with you until the early hours of the morning, holding you close with the knowledge that the nightmares would be worse if someone wasn’t there. This was the first time in a while JJ wasn’t home when you went to sleep, and John B didn’t want you to worry all night, so he stayed.
“‘Course,” He replied simply, pausing to lean against the table and look at you carefully. “You heard from J?”
You shook your head, snagging a piece of bacon from the plate. “He went to Goat Island. To see Groff.”
“Groff?” John B paused. You nodded and bit off half a piece. “Like Chandler Groff?”
“Yeah, Luke was spewing some shit when JJ went to see him, so he’s trying to get answers. I didn’t ask, he seemed kind of upset about it. I’m sure he’s trying to figure out how Luke got a bypass to take the house,” You explained, trying to answer the question without really answering it.
John B seemed to roll with it and your friends slowly filtered their way into the kitchen to eat their hearts out. Sarah tucked herself in the chair next to you, John B on her other side. The empty chair at the table was a little too obvious, and when the read receipt didn’t show up on your phone all morning, you knew something had definitely gone wrong.
--
John B and Sarah were in agreement the second you said something felt off about JJ not answering. You quickly cleaned up after breakfast (though it was more like lunch at this point), and tried to get ahold of JJ again. Your texts were no longer being read, but his location was still pinging near Goat Island and you knew you had to drag your friends into it despite JJ’s wishes.
“We can take the HMS, he took the charter boat,” John B offered as you tried calling JJ again, to no avail.
“We’ll try to find out some more about the rezoning,” Pope offered as he motioned toward Cleo. “It’s only a matter of time before they come knocking. We might as well prepare for it. Could stop by and say hi to Ma and Pops too.”
Kie nodded in agreement, “I need to go check in at home, anyway. Mom’s gonna kill me with how yesterday went.”
John B nodded in understanding and tugged a shirt on over his tank top. “Alright, we’ll catch up with you guys later, yeah?”
The three of you took to the HMS shortly after, John B setting his course to Goat Island. Sarah plopped next to you on the small bench, leaning against your shoulder as you stared across the water.
Your brother was, recognizing the distant look in your eyes but his confusion was focused on Sarah’s sudden silence. She seemed excited earlier in the kitchen when talking about her new revelation, but she’s gotten quiet since then. John B made an internal note to ask her later.
“What’s that?” Your eyes caught sight of another boat across the marsh, barely covered by the plants covering it. “Kill the engine, JB,” You directed as you ducked down out of view. The fact that the sun was still setting didn’t help your cover but hopefully, the marsh grass would do its job enough for you to get a closer look. You could just barely see a group out on one of the ledges, a handful of them all with their sights on two people.
“Shit, that’s JJ,” You pointed slightly to the white shirt covering the form of your boyfriend. From here, he looked generally unharmed, but you still didn’t like the way the mercenaries were holding him back.
“And Groff.” John B locked onto the form of the older man who was also being held a little too tight to be friendly.
“Those are the guys from Charleston who took the scroll,” Sarah pointed toward the guy and girl that you and John B had narrowly avoided in the cemetery. The man she pointed at was the one Cleo had tried to kill, the same one that almost killed you while diving.
“What do they want with JJ?” John B asked, his eyes not leaving the form of his best friend, whose arm was wrenched behind his back with a machete a little too close to his face.
You shook your head, heart practically in your throat at the scene in front of you. “I don’t think it’s JJ they want. He’s collateral.”
John B ran a hand through his hair. “We could, like, ram them. Create a distraction,” He offered.
“Ram that?” You repeated as you pointed toward the much larger boat. “John B, come on!”
“Sorry! Just trying to think!”
“Wait, hey!” Sarah reached down to grab the handful of liquor bottles that were remaining from your last store run, having been left on the HMS in a hurry, clearly. “A little Molotov cocktail, maybe?”
You gave her a side glance. “That’s psychotic. Let’s find some rags.”
John B quickly pulled up the bench seat in search of any leftover towels. You tugged your favorite beach towel from underneath you, fingers struggling for a second before you were able to rip it into strips, quickly tossing them to your brother.
“John B, hurry!” You hissed as the lady’s attention moved to JJ, her form much closer than before.
“I’m trying! Shit!”
Sarah ripped one bottle from his hand, tucking a few towel strips into the neck of the bottle and swirling it to the alcohol would drench the towels. “Light it, we'll distract them. He’ll get free, jump over, and we’ll grab him.”
“Just don’t hit him,” You looked at your brother, slightly terrified with the knowledge of his past aim. “I’d like him in one piece, please.”
John B quickly tied a rope around the bottle, his fingers moving as fast as he could to tie one of the knots your father had taught as kids. “Don’t hit JJ with the Molotov cocktail. Gotcha.”
Your hands searched your jean shorts for JJ’s lighter that you rarely left home without, handing it over to John B for his use. “Be careful, please.”
Sarah tucked herself behind the wheel of the ship, your brother on the front bow with the cocktail and lighter in hand. He quickly lit the towel, a curse leaving his lips at how fast it caught flame before he tossed JJ’s lighter back to you and started spinning the rope with the flames midair.
“Oh my God, I should’ve done it,” You huffed as you ducked next to Sarah, John B’s tactic clearly a horrible one.
With a final grunt, he put his whole body into the throw… only for it to come back down on the floor of the boat.
“John B!” You chastised as the flames sprinkled over the floor. “You’re a dumbass!”
“Oh shit!” John B tumbled into the water in shock, the splash definitely giving away your cover if the fire itself didn’t.
You cursed and pushed Sarah back when she went to run for him, your stern eyes keeping her in place as you ripped open the cabinet beneath the wheel to grab the fire extinguisher Pope insisted on being there despite JJ’s best wishes.
In his defense, John B was kicking and shoving water onto the boat, lessening the flames before you pulled the pin on the extinguisher and knocked the rest of it out in a cloud of powder.
“Are you okay?” Sarah reached down to pull your brother back on board.
“I’m so sorry,” John B coughed and flung his extra shirt over into the boat..
“A blind person could’ve thrown that better!” You hissed and helped Sarah haul his weighted form up.
John B shrugged your hands off, his attention back on the cabinet where he pulled out a slingshot that JJ insisted on buying at the local county fair one year, swearing water balloon fights were going to become his new hobby.
You grabbed the second bottle as John B tied the rubber pieces to stabilize them.
“You have ten seconds to explain yourself, or we start shooting!”
You recognized the man’s voice, knowing he was the one who had chased after you and JJ underwater that day. John B shuffled around on the floor, pulling the bands back into position for you to settle the bottle into his grip.
“Ready?” You asked, flicking the lighter open in your hand. Your brother nodded, giving you permission to bring the flame closer until the towel caught and the flames warmed your skin.
John B took a deep breath, his movements calculated as he aligned and leaned back further. “Bye bye.”
The bottle launched this time, flying across the channel gap to the larger boat where the glass shattered on impact. The group went scrambling and you lost sight of JJ in the glowing orange light.
“I said not to hit him!” You smacked your brother’s shoulder out of anxiety and looked back to the fiery scene ahead. “Let’s go!”
John B moved instantly to restart the engine and steer closer to where JJ could hopefully get a better approach to jump. Your jaw dropped at the sight of a burning form going overboard to remove the flames from his clothes.
“Where is he?” You called out aimlessly as John B approached the boat. He tugged on your elbow, pulling you behind the wheel without any explanation, and stood on the edge.
“I’ll find him,” He promised before hopping to the other boat like it was the easiest thing ever. “Circle back around.”
Sarah thankfully shifted you gently, understanding you hated driving the boat in the first place, let alone when both of your boys were up to no good. Her hands took over easily and she steered the boat with a precision you never had.
“Thank God you used to be a Kook,” You breathed out with a small laugh, Sarah smiling in response but keeping her eyes focused. “We’ve gotta quit letting them do stupid shit like this together!”
Sarah huffed, turning around slightly to bring the larger boat into view as you waited for the boys to come into view. “I’ll kill them myself, actually.”
After a moment of looking, you caught JJ’s white t-shirt sprinting out one of the doors higher up, John B right behind him. Your brother took to the ladder, JJ engaging in another fight with the mercenary who intercepted him.
“Shit, shit, go!” You directed to Sarah when both boys were as high as they could climb. The crew below was recovering from the distraction and slowly shifting closer to engage. You screamed as one started climbing the rungs just behind your boyfriend, “JJ!”
His head snapped up immediately at your voice, barely sparing a glance at John B before the fear of you watching him get killed outweighed the jump they were about to take. “Ready?”
“Screw it.”
You couldn’t tell whether they were screams of excitement or fear, but both John B and JJ jumped as far away from the boat as they could. Sarah moved just as quickly, giving the vessel enough push to float next to the two close enough that you could lean down and grab hold.
You anchored your weight and reached down with two hands to grab JJ’s wrists, a small grunt slipping out as you pulled him up with your momentum, both of you tumbling to the floor of the HMS. Sarah and John B had been much more graceful, your brother having enough time to get back to his feet and behind the wheel, jamming the throttle forward just as gunshots rang out.
You reached out to grab Sarah’s wrist, pulling her back down as John B swerved to make it harder to aim. JJ coughed under you, your leg tucked between his two as you sat up to keep an eye out for the mercenaries to follow. When they didn’t, you put your attention on the boy.
“Holy shit,” You breathed before bending to kiss him deeply, fingers tangling into his wet hair as his hands grabbed your hips tightly. You managed two more quicker kisses before settling back. “You okay?”
JJ’s thumbs slipped under your tank top to brush your skin gently as you looked him over for any obvious injuries. “Oh baby, you have no idea how glad I am to see you.”
“Hey, hey. Keep it PG down there, you two,” John B’s request made you scoff and you moved down to kiss JJ again despite your brother’s wishes. Sarah sat next to your brother, letting him rest on her shoulder as she took over driving so John B’s adrenaline could wear off easier.
The four of you burst into laughter, sinking into the relief that you found your missing piece and could return home for the little time you had left there. What you didn’t know, just yet, was that the boys made it out with the scroll relating to the Blue Crown and your next treasure hunt was just around the corner.
--
After arriving back at Poguelandia, Sarah had practically dragged you into the house with the intent to shower before you’d rejoin the boys and catch everyone up on the last few hours.
“Hey, dude,” JJ stopped John B before the older boy left the dock after he tied up the HMS. “Can I talk to you about something?”
John B nodded without any hesitation, nudging his head toward the store to at least get under the light since night had taken over. The Routledge boy dug into the cooler, grabbing a beer for himself before tossing one to his best friend. “Let me guess, this has to do with the grabby hands you had at the jewelry store last night?”
JJ’s jaw practically hit the floor which had John B dying from laughter in a few seconds.
“How the fuck did you know?” JJ glanced around quickly to make sure nobody else was around to hear the conversation. “Seriously, are you a mind reader or like-”
“Sarah told me,” John B took a deep breath to resettle his emotions. “Said it was gone.”
JJ groaned and ran a hand through his hair. Suddenly, he didn’t know how to talk to his best friend of almost fifteen years. How does one ask their best friend of fifteen years permission to marry his sister?
“Look, I know this conversation should’ve been had with your dad, and I wish it could be because there’s a lot of things I would say to him first,” JJ started off, his words a little too heavy for his liking, but he had to acknowledge it. He had to acknowledge the fact that they were still kids in a scary world, and Big John should’ve been better to you.
Clearing his throat, JJ took a big sip of his beer before forcing himself to meet John B’s gaze. “I mentioned it and you probably thought I was joking, but I also know there is nothing more she would want than for you to hear about this first. More than anything in the world, John B.”
John Booker Routledge had prepared himself for a lot of things in life, but he never prepared himself to be staring at his best friend with tears in his eyes over you. To be talking about another person protecting you when he couldn’t, to give up being the one you ran to for help. John B didn’t want to admit it, but he felt like this was saying goodbye to being your big brother.
“I love her, man. I love her more than I ever thought I was capable. She makes me… she makes me so good. Like I’m more than the kid with the piece of shit dad and the shit short stick. I’m more than that to her, and… and I couldn’t be more thankful for that. Like you can’t make that shit up, bro,” JJ let out a teary laugh and crossed his arms over his chest. “She’s like the fucking sunshine after a hurricane, like no matter what, it’s gonna be okay, and I don’t want to lose her. Ever.
“I want to make her the happiest person in the world. She deserves a life so much better than this one, where she’s not worried about food on the table, or if we’re coming home at night. She and Sarah, hell all of us, we all deserve that, man. I just…I just want the chance to give it to her.”
John B stared at the person across from him who was spewing words he couldn’t read in cursive. This was JJ, JJ fucking Maybank. The kid who smoked weed like it was his job and hosted keggers like it was nobody’s business. John B’s watched that version of JJ, the ticking time bomb version, completely disappear. That version of JJ doesn’t exist anymore, and in its place was the one John B had grown to trust when it came to you.
The version that held your hand when the road was rocky. The one who picked flowers in your favorite colors just to see the excitement in your eyes before they died two days later. The JJ that held you night after night when your head became too messy and you wanted to give up. This was the JJ that knew your anxiety attacks and how to stop them, how to be level-headed with you even when it was hard to. This is the JJ that John B knew you deserved.
JJ was pacing now that his best friend hadn’t really said much and he was worried the idea was flying out from under his fingertips. “I know I don’t deserve her, John B. I never will. And I’ll never forgive myself for letting everything happen to her. I should’ve been there, I should’ve done better. But I swear to you, from here on out, I will do everything I can, every lasting day of my life to make sure she’s safe.”
Reaching into the zipper pocket of his cargo shorts, he tugged out the signature shark tooth he usually had clipped around his neck, but this time there was a new piece attached. A silver ring on the chain weighed a little bit heavier than usual. JJ took apart the clasp and pulled the jewelry off before holding it out to John B.
“Sarah um… Sarah was with me, but I guess that’s obvious now. I didn’t know what the fuck princess cut meant, and the lady there went to the Kook academy and they used to be friends so I guess…”
JJ's voice floated away as John B stared at the ring in between his fingers. He’d seen this ring so many times in his life, and the realization of where made the tears fall. Holy shit.
John B crying caught JJ off guard and now he was panicking, “Dude, you good?”
“I made a call,” Sarah’s voice entered the conversation as John B turned to face her. She was teary herself, having eavesdropped a bit on the words shared. “Nicola said she remembered your dad from the shop.”
John B swallowed harshly and opened his arm to let Sarah tuck into his side. He stared at the object for a moment longer before holding it back toward JJ who was looking at him expectantly. “That was… that’s my mom’s ring. Our mom’s ring.”
JJ’s breath caught in his throat.
“Dad had pawned it when he got in deep with the gold and… how did you?” John B sniffled and rubbed his nose as he looked down at the girl next to him.
“Oh come on,” Sarah laughed at their shock, but deep down she knew this meant a lot to John B and it would mean even more to you. “She’s my best friend. Did you really think I was going to let you go in there and pick out something as important as this when you didn’t even know what a cushion halo was?”
JJ crashed into the blonde girl a little harder than he intended, but Sarah welcomed it regardless. She hugged him back just as tightly, feeling his shoulders shake beneath her touch. She was just glad to make this happen for the two of you. Nobody deserved it more.
JJ pulled back after a moment, giving her forehead a kiss before he was once again faced with his best friend and the lingering question. John B tackled him just as hard, the two boys clutching each other like a lifeline. Suddenly, they were kids on the playground again, defending each other when things hit a little too close to home. And shit, were you home to both of them.
“There is nobody…nobody, I would trust with her more than you,” John B sniffled when he leaned back to clasp JJ on the shoulder tightly, using the back of his hand to wipe the tears from his face. “She’s yours, JJ. Always has been.”
JJ let out a sob and embraced John B again. John B knew that deep down JJ never felt like he was good enough for you, but the two of you couldn’t have been more perfect for each other.
And although John B felt like he was losing you, there’s nobody he’d rather lose you to than his best friend, JJ Maybank.

Would love to see a leah x alessia x reader one where they are expecting their first baby but reader goes into labour a couple weeks early while Leah and alessia are away at a match either for arsenal or they are at England camp. Just them all rushing around and then trying to get back for the birth while reader is just hoping she has them their while she gives birth.
Just a cute but emotional one of them becoming a family and the drama leading up to the moment
Labour
Leah x reader x Alessia
You go into labour a few weeks early while your wives are at England camp.
Thanks for the request :)
Tumblr media
~~~
The pain started mid-morning, a dull ache low in your abdomen that you tried to ignore. You told yourself they were just Braxton Hicks. You were only 35 weeks along, and first babies were rarely early—or so everyone had told you. But by lunchtime, when the pain started to come in waves, you realized this wasn’t false labor. This was the real thing.
Leah and Alessia were away at England camp, just two hours away, but they weren’t answering their phones. You’d already called Leah who hadn't picked up, then called Alessia twice, your breathing growing more labored as the contractions intensified.
“Come on,” you whispered desperately, clutching your stomach as you sat on the edge of the bed, the hospital bag already packed and ready by your feet. “Pick up, Less. Pick up, Leah.”
Still no answer.
Your hand trembled as you scrolled through your contacts and landed on a name you hadn’t expected to call in such a moment: Sarina.
She picked up on the second ring. “Hello?” Sarina’s calm, no-nonsense voice brought a flicker of relief.
“Sarina,” you said, your voice tight with pain and panic, “I—I think I’m in labor. The baby’s coming early, and I can’t reach Leah or Alessia.”
There was a pause, then, “You’re in labour?” she repeated, her tone instantly urgent. “Where are you?”
“I’m at home on the couch, but I need to go to the hospital,” you managed, squeezing your eyes shut against another contraction.
“Okay, listen to me,” Sarina said firmly. “I’ll get them. Do you have someone else who can drive you?”
“I—I’ll figure it out,” you stammered, the pain making it hard to think.
“Good. Get to the hospital safely, and I’ll make sure Leah and Alessia are there as soon as possible,” Sarina promised.
~~~
At camp, the atmosphere on the pitch was intense. The Lionesses were in the middle of a scrimmage, with Leah on the backline and Alessia pressing high in attack. Sarina approached the sideline, waving over one of her assistants before stepping onto the field, her expression unusually serious.
“Stop play!” she called, her voice cutting through the noise.
The players paused, confused, as Sarina walked briskly toward Leah and Alessia.
“Coach?” Leah asked, frowning as Sarina gestured for them to step aside.
“I need to speak with both of you,” Sarina said, her tone leaving no room for argument.
“What’s wrong?” Alessia asked immediately, worry flashing across her face.
“Its y/n,” Sarina said, lowering her voice. “She’s in labour. She couldn’t reach you, so she called me.”
Leah’s eyes widened, her face paling. “What? She’s—she’s in labour? Now?”
“Is she okay?” Alessia asked, panic rising in her voice.
“She’s on her way to the hospital,” Sarina said. “You two need to go. Now.”
Leah didn’t need to be told twice. “We’ll take my car,” she said, already jogging toward the locker room to grab her keys. Alessia was hot on her heels, her boots barely hitting the ground as she ran.
~~~
By the time you arrived at the hospital, the contractions were coming hard and fast, and you could barely think through the pain. The nurses helped you into a gown, hooked you up to monitors, and assured you that everything looked good for the baby, even though it was early.
“Have your wives arrived yet?” one nurse asked as she checked on your vitals.
“No,” you said, tears spilling down your cheeks. “They’re on their way, but they’re two hours away. I just—I need them here.”
Leah drove like she was in a race, Alessia clutching her phone in the passenger seat, her leg bouncing with nervous energy.
“Why didn’t she call us earlier?” Alessia asked, her voice tight with guilt.
“She tried,” Leah said, her hands gripping the wheel. “We didn’t pick up. God, I can’t believe we didn’t pick up.”
“She must be so scared,” Alessia murmured, tears brimming in her eyes.
Leah reached over, squeezing Alessia’s hand briefly before returning her focus to the road. “We’ll get there. We’ll be there for her. We have to be.”
~~~
Back in the delivery room, the pain was overwhelming, and you struggled to focus on the midwife’s calming instructions. The room felt too bright, too loud, too empty without Leah and Alessia.
“I don’t think I can do this without them,” you choked out between sobs.
“Yes, you can,” the midwife said gently, her voice steady. “You’re already doing it. They’ll be here soon, but right now, your baby needs you to be strong.”
Leah and Alessia burst through the hospital doors, breathless and frantic. After a few wrong turns and a lot of urgent questions at the front desk, they finally found your room.
When they stepped inside, you were in the middle of a contraction, your face contorted in pain, tears streaking your cheeks.
“Oh, love,” Alessia said, rushing to your side and taking your hand. “We’re here. We’re here.”
Leah was right behind her, her hand landing gently on your shoulder as she leaned down to kiss your temple. “I’m so sorry we weren’t here sooner,” she said.
“You made it,” you gasped out, gripping their hands like lifelines.
“Of course we did,” Alessia said, tears streaming down her face. “We wouldn’t miss this for anything.”
Alessia whispered words of encouragement, her voice soft and steady, while Leah rubbed your back and counted through your breaths as you practically broke their hands.
When the baby finally arrived—a healthy, squalling little girl—all three of you were overcome with emotion.
“She’s perfect,” Leah whispered, her voice breaking as she stared at your daughter in awe.
Alessia leaned down, pressing a kiss to your forehead. “You were incredible,” she said, her tears falling freely.
“You both made it,” you said, your own tears mingling with laughter as you cradled your daughter against your chest.
“We’re never leaving you again,” Leah said firmly, wrapping her arms around you both.
And in that moment, as the three of you stared down at the tiny miracle you’d created, the chaos and panic of the day melted away, leaving only love and the overwhelming joy of becoming a family.

The Hard Deck was alive with its usual buzz—boots scuffed against the wooden floors, laughter echoed from the pool table, and the jukebox played a classic rock song that you barely registered. You sat at the bar, staring down into the bottom of your glass like it might hold the answers to every question rattling around in your head.
“Hey,” came a familiar voice from behind you.
Bradley “Rooster” Bradshaw slid onto the stool beside you, his presence like a balm for your frayed nerves. His aviators hung from the neckline of his shirt, and his easy smile faded the moment he got a good look at your face.
“What’s wrong?” he asked, his tone softer now, concerned.
You tried to muster a reassuring smile but knew it fell flat. “Nothing. Just… a long day.”
He wasn’t buying it. Bradley had known you long enough to spot when something was bothering you. His brow furrowed as he leaned in closer, his voice low. “Come on. It’s me. What’s going on?”
You hesitated, your fingers tracing the rim of your glass. Then, with a quiet sigh, you admitted, “I broke up with Derek.”
Bradley’s expression flickered—something unreadable passed over his face, a mix of surprise and something else you couldn’t quite place. He took a moment, then asked, “What happened?”
You swallowed, the words feeling heavier than they should. “I caught him cheating on me.”
Bradley’s hand clenched around his beer bottle, his jaw tightening. “That asshole,” he muttered under his breath, then louder, “He can go screw himself.”
You snorted at his bluntness, a small laugh escaping despite yourself. Bradley’s intensity softened as he looked back at you.
“I’m serious,” he said, his tone gentler now. “You deserve better than that. Better than him.”
“Yeah, right,” you replied with a hollow laugh. “Good guys aren’t as common as they used to be.”
Bradley shrugged casually, but his lips twitched into a small smile. “I think I’m a pretty good guy.”
You blinked, caught off guard, then smiled at him. “Yeah, you are. One of the best, actually.”
He leaned forward, his forearms resting on the bar. “Then let me take you on a date.”
You stared at him, momentarily stunned. “Bradley…”
His brown eyes held yours, steady and earnest. “I mean it. Let me take you out.”
“You don’t mean it,” you said, shaking your head, though your pulse quickened at the thought.
“I do,” he countered, his voice unwavering. “I’ve liked you for a while. But you were with Derek, and I wasn’t going to get in the way of that. Now that you’re not…” He trailed off, his gaze softening. “I just want to show you how you should’ve been treated all along.”
Your heart twisted at the sincerity in his voice. For a moment, you couldn’t speak, couldn’t process how Bradley—your steady, dependable Bradley—was suddenly baring his feelings to you like this.
“I don’t know what to say,” you admitted quietly.
“Say yes,” he said simply.
Your lips curved into a small, hesitant smile.
“Okay,” you said, the word slipping out before you could second-guess yourself.
His face lit up, and he reached out, brushing his fingers lightly against yours where they rested on the bar. The touch was tentative, warm, and for the first time that night, you felt the weight on your chest ease just a little.
“Let me take you home,” he said. “You’ve had enough of this place for one night.”
You nodded, letting him help you off the stool. As he led you toward the door, his hand resting lightly on the small of your back, you couldn’t help but wonder if this was the start of something you’d been too blind to see before.
The drive back to your place was quiet at first, the soft hum of the engine filling the space as you leaned back in your seat, watching the lights of the town blur past. Bradley’s hand rested casually on the gearshift, his fingers drumming lightly against it in time with the song playing low on the radio.
“So,” you said, breaking the silence, a small smirk tugging at the corner of your lips, “is this you taking me home and tucking me in? Or is this you taking me home?”
Beside you, Bradley’s lips twitched into a grin, though he kept his eyes on the road. “Depends,” he said smoothly, glancing at you out of the corner of his eye. “What do you want it to be?”
You laughed, shaking your head. “You’re impossible.”
“Hey, you’re the one who asked.” His tone was light, teasing, but there was an undercurrent of something more—something that made your stomach flip.
“Just so you know,” you said, folding your arms across your chest in mock indignation, “you’re terrible at tucking people in. I seem to remember you leaving me to sleep on a couch last New Year’s while you stole my blanket.”
Bradley laughed, the sound warm and genuine. “First of all, that blanket was fair game. Second, you’re the one who insisted on watching that terrible rom-com marathon. I was being a good friend by suffering through it.”
You shot him a playful glare. “Suffering? You cried during The Notebook.”
“I did not.”
“You absolutely did.”
He sighed dramatically, shaking his head. “Fine. Maybe I got something in my eye. A guy can be moved by powerful cinema without crying, you know.”
“Sure, Brad,” you said, unable to keep the smile off your face.
The banter continued, easy and familiar, until he pulled up outside your place. He shifted the car into park but didn’t immediately move to unbuckle his seatbelt. Instead, he turned to you, his expression softening as his eyes searched yours.
“Seriously, though,” he said, his voice low, “it’s up to you. I meant what I said back there. I’m not in a rush. I just want to be here for you.”
Your smile faded into something gentler as the weight of his words settled over you. “I know, Bradley. And… I appreciate it.”
For a moment, neither of you moved, the air in the car thick with something unspoken. Then you reached for the door handle, breaking the spell.
“You coming in, or are you going to sleep in the car?” you asked, your tone teasing but your heart pounding.
Bradley grinned, unbuckling his seatbelt. “You know I’m not letting you go in there without company.”
You reached your front door, fishing your keys out of your bag, the cool night air brushing against your skin. Bradley trailed behind you, close enough that you could feel the warmth of his presence. As you tried to slot the key into the lock, your hands trembled—whether from the chill or the way your heart was racing, you weren’t sure.
Before you could get the door open, you felt him. Bradley’s hands slid gently around your waist, his touch tentative at first, as though giving you the chance to pull away. When you didn’t, he pulled you closer, his chest pressing against your back.
“Bradley…” you started, your voice barely above a whisper.
His only response was to lean down, his lips brushing softly against the curve of your neck. The first kiss was light, testing, a feather-soft touch that sent a shiver down your spine. The second lingered longer, his warm breath fanning over your skin as he pressed his mouth to the sensitive spot just below your ear.
“Is this okay?” he murmured, his voice low and husky against your neck.
You closed your eyes, tilting your head slightly to give him better access. “Yeah,” you hummed, the word barely audible.
You swore you felt him smile against your skin before he continued, his kisses growing bolder, more insistent. His lips trailed down the side of your neck, tracing a path toward your shoulder. His hands splayed across your stomach, anchoring you to him as his mouth moved lower.
Every kiss sent a wave of warmth through you, the world outside your little bubble fading away.
“Bradley…” His name slipped from your lips, half a sigh, half a plea, though you weren’t even sure what you were asking for.
He hummed in response, his lips still trailing over your skin. His touch wasn’t rushed or desperate—it was deliberate, reverent, as though he’d been waiting for this moment for longer than he cared to admit.
You turned your head slightly, trying to catch his gaze, but he paused, his lips brushing against your shoulder as he spoke. “Tell me if you want me to stop,” he said softly.
You didn’t answer with words. Instead, you turned fully in his arms, your hands sliding up to rest on his chest. His brown eyes searched yours, and whatever he saw there must have been enough, because his lips were on yours a moment later, warm and sure, pulling you even closer.
Bradley’s lips never left yours as his hands moved down your back, his fingers grazing over the curve of your hips before gripping your thighs. With an effortless motion, he lifted you, and you instinctively wrapped your legs around his waist, your arms looping around his neck for support.
Your breath hitched as he adjusted his hold, steady and sure, like he’d done this a hundred times in his mind. The strength in his arms sent a shiver through you, and for a fleeting moment, you wondered how he managed to make it all look so seamless.
Still cradling you securely, Bradley leaned back just enough to reach behind you, pushing your door open with one hand. The kiss never faltered, his lips still moving against yours in a way that made your head spin. The door swung open, and he stepped inside, his boots echoing softly against the hardwood.
With a swift motion, he kicked the door shut behind him, the solid thunk of it closing grounding you in the moment. Then he turned, pressing your back gently against the wall, his body pinning yours in place.
Your fingers threaded through his hair, tugging lightly as his lips traveled down, brushing over your jawline and back to your mouth. The intensity of his kiss deepened as his tongue slipped past your lips, teasing, exploring, drawing a soft moan from your throat that you couldn’t hold back.
Bradley’s hands slid down your sides, his touch leaving trails of heat in its wake. When they settled on your waist, his thumbs stroked slow, deliberate circles against your skin through the thin fabric of your shirt. The way he held you—firm but gentle, steady but utterly consuming—made your pulse race.
Every movement, every touch, felt purposeful, like he was trying to show you with his hands and mouth everything he hadn’t yet said out loud.
“Bradley,” you murmured against his lips, your voice breathless and shaky.
“Hmm?” he hummed, his lips brushing yours as he paused just long enough to look at you, his brown eyes dark and full of something that made your stomach flutter.
You couldn’t form the words, but he didn’t seem to need them. Instead, he dipped his head again, capturing your lips in another searing kiss that left no room for doubt about how he felt—or how much he wanted you.
Bradley pulled back just enough to break the kiss, his lips hovering near yours as his warm breath brushed your skin. His hands still rested on your waist, his fingers pressing lightly into your sides as his eyes searched yours with a mixture of mischief and heat.
“So,” he murmured, his voice low and teasing, “do you still want me to just tuck you in?”
The question made your pulse quicken, but instead of faltering, a surge of boldness rose within you. Your fingers tightened in his hair, tugging his head back gently but firmly, exposing the strong line of his throat. His lips parted slightly, and a low groan rumbled in his chest, the sound sending a shiver through you.
You leaned in close, your lips brushing the edge of his jaw as you whispered, “I want you, Bradley.”
His reaction was immediate. His hands tightened on your hips, pulling you closer against him as his eyes darkened with an intensity that made your breath catch. “You have no idea how long I’ve waited to hear that,” he muttered, his voice rough and full of unspoken desire.
Without another word, he shifted you in his arms with ease, his hold on you unwavering as he stepped back from the wall. Your legs tightened instinctively around his waist, your fingers still tangled in his hair as he turned and started down the hallway.
The journey to your bedroom felt electric, every step punctuated by the tension between you. Bradley’s grip on you was sure and steady, his strength making you feel both weightless and completely grounded.
As he reached the door to your room, he paused, glancing at you with a small, almost cocky smirk. “Last chance to back out,” he teased, though his voice held a note of seriousness beneath the playfulness.
Your response was simple: you leaned forward and kissed him, pouring every ounce of your pent-up feelings into it. That was all the answer he needed.
With a quiet chuckle, he carried you over the threshold, his lips finding yours again as he stepped inside and nudged the door closed behind him with his foot.
Bradley walked you over to the bed, his movements careful and deliberate, as though he wanted to savor every second. Gently, he lowered you onto the soft mattress, his hands lingering on your hips for a moment before he leaned over you. The room felt still, save for the quiet rustle of sheets beneath you and the sound of your own uneven breathing.
He braced himself on one arm, his other hand brushing a strand of hair from your face as his lips met yours again. The kiss deepened, slow and unhurried, as if he had all the time in the world. Then his mouth began to travel, leaving a trail of kisses along your jaw and back down to your neck.
Between kisses, his voice came out low and teasing. “What do you like?”
The question caught you off guard, and you froze for a moment, your mind blanking under the weight of it. “I don’t know,” you admitted, your voice barely above a whisper.
Bradley stilled, his lips hovering just above your collarbone. He pulled back slightly to look at you, his brows furrowing in confusion. For a moment, he seemed to hesitate, as if he wasn’t sure he’d heard you correctly.
“You’ve... you’ve done this before, right?” he asked, his voice tinged with an awkward uncertainty.
A laugh bubbled out of you, breaking the tension. “Yes, I’ve slept with people before,” you said, your tone light and reassuring. “It’s just... all the guys I’ve been with only ever did missionary.”
His expression shifted instantly. First, his eyes widened in disbelief, and for a split second, you thought he might be about to argue. But then his lips curled into a slow, confident smirk, the kind that made your pulse race.
“Missionary,” he repeated, the word almost incredulous. “That’s it?”
You shrugged, a mix of embarrassment and amusement bubbling in your chest.
Bradley leaned in closer, his lips brushing the shell of your ear as he spoke, his voice a low, teasing murmur. “Well, then... how about we find out together?”
Before you could respond, his lips captured yours again, and his hands began to explore, sliding over your sides and down to your thighs.
Bradley’s fingers moved to the hem of your shirt, his dark eyes flicking up to meet yours. “Is this okay?” he asked softly, his voice steady but laced with anticipation.
You nodded, swallowing hard. “Yeah.”
With deliberate care, he pulled your shirt over your head and tossed it aside, his hands brushing against your skin as he did. The warmth of his touch lingered, sending a shiver down your spine. His gaze didn’t waver as it roamed over you, and the look in his eyes made you feel more seen—and more desired—than you ever had before.
“You’re gorgeous,” he murmured, his voice reverent but with an edge of heat that made your cheeks flush. His hands moved to the waistband of your jeans next, his thumbs hooking into the fabric as he paused to look at you again. “Still okay?”
You nodded again, your voice catching in your throat.
He made quick work of the button and zipper, easing the denim down your legs and leaving you in nothing but your bra and underwear. He straightened, his gaze sweeping over you as you lay back against the pillows.
“God,” he breathed, shaking his head slightly. “You’re so beautiful. No... you’re sexy.”
The compliment hit you like a spark, and for a moment, you wondered why you had never let yourself see Bradley like this before. He wasn’t just your dependable, loyal friend. He was this—sweet, confident, and undeniably attractive.
He knelt back down, his hands gently trailing up your thighs as he leaned in. “You tell me if there’s anything you don’t like,” he reminded you, his voice soft but firm.
“I will,” you whispered, your heart pounding in your chest.
His lips found your neck again, pressing gentle, lingering kisses against your skin. Then you felt his teeth graze your neck—a new sensation, one that sent a jolt through you. Before you could process it, he bit down gently, and you gasped, the sound escaping you unbidden.
You felt his lips curve into a smile against your skin. “You like that?” he murmured, his voice low and teasing. “Do you want me to do it again? Do you want me to mark you?”
You nodded quickly, your breath hitching. “Yes. I want to be yours.”
The words barely left your lips before he leaned in again, his teeth sinking into your neck just enough to sting, followed by the soothing press of his mouth as he sucked on the tender skin. The sensation was unlike anything you’d felt before—electric, heady, and intimate. When he pulled away, you could feel the heat of his gaze as he admired the dark mark he’d left.
Bradley smirked, his hand brushing a strand of hair from your face as he leaned in to kiss you. “Can’t wait to see what you look like with those all over,” he whispered, his tone filled with a promise that made your pulse race.
You couldn’t help but smirk back at him, a boldness blooming in your chest. “Where else do you want to put one?”
His eyes darkened with a mix of mischief and intent, and his smirk widened. Without another word, he lowered his head, his lips trailing along your collarbones before dipping lower, stopping just above your breasts.
He paused for a moment, looking up at you as if to ask for permission. You gave him a small nod, and he bit down again, his mouth working to leave another mark, this time on the skin between your breasts.
The sensation sent another wave of heat coursing through you, and when he pulled back, his expression was pure satisfaction as he admired his work.
“Perfect,” he murmured, his voice rough.
Bradley's hands slid up your sides, his thumbs grazing the edge of your bra. His eyes flicked up to meet yours, silently asking for permission. When you gave him a slight nod, he reached behind you with practiced ease, unhooking the clasp and gently sliding the straps down your shoulders.
The garment fell away, and for a moment, he just looked at you, his gaze filled with reverence and hunger that made your skin flush.
One of his hands moved to cup your breast, his palm warm against your skin as his fingers squeezed gently, exploring. The sensation was new, different, and surprisingly intoxicating. You couldn’t help the soft sigh that escaped your lips as he leaned down, his breath ghosting over your skin before his lips wrapped around one of your nipples.
The feeling sent a jolt of electricity through you. No one had ever paid much attention to your chest before; past partners had always been more focused elsewhere, making offhand comments about your body that left you feeling unbalanced. But this—Bradley’s touch, his mouth—was deliberate and consuming as if he couldn’t get enough of you.
Then you felt his teeth, a brief, unexpected pressure that made you gasp, your back arching as you unconsciously pushed your chest further into his mouth.
Bradley hummed against you, his lips curving into a smirk as he flicked his tongue over the sensitive skin to soothe it.
“You like that,” he murmured, not as a question but a quiet declaration.
Your breath hitched, and you nodded, your voice too tangled in the haze of sensation to respond properly.
He didn’t wait for words. He pulled away, his lips leaving a trail of warmth as he shifted to your other breast. His hand replaced his mouth, rolling the sensitive bud between his fingers while his lips found their target. This time, he didn’t hesitate, biting down gently but firmly, drawing another involuntary gasp from you.
The sound made something flicker in his eyes—satisfaction, excitement, and a hint of possessiveness. His tongue swept over the spot he’d bitten, his mouth working with a combination of suction and teasing flicks that had your fingers digging into his shoulders.
Bradley pulled back slightly, his breath warm against your skin as he looked up at you. “I love hearing those sounds you make,” he said softly, his voice a rough whisper that sent a shiver through you. His hands slid down to rest on your waist again, grounding you as his lips brushed a gentle kiss against the curve of your breast. “I’ve got so much more I want to show you.”
Bradley’s eyes never left yours as he slowly made his way down your body, his lips brushing over your skin with a slow, deliberate pace. His hands were gentle but firm, guiding you closer to the edge of something new and thrilling. When he finally positioned himself between your legs, his gaze flickered up to meet yours once more.
He smiled, a look of both excitement and admiration in his eyes. “I can’t wait to hear the sounds you make when I do thi,” he said, his voice low and husky. The weight of his words settled heavily between you, making your heart race.
You swallowed, your breath hitching slightly as he traced his fingers along your thighs, his touch light and teasing. His lips followed, pressing a soft kiss to one thigh before moving to the other, a trail of warmth in his wake. Then, with a careful touch, he slid your panties down your legs and tossed them aside, leaving you feeling exposed, but strangely safe in his hands.
He looked at you, his eyes dark with desire, before lowering himself further. The air between you two was thick with anticipation. His hands gently caressed your hips, grounding you as his lips finally reached your center.
The moment his mouth made contact, your body jolted with the sensation, a sharp intake of breath escaping you as you arched into him, your hands gripping the sheets beneath you.
Bradley was slow, methodical, taking his time to explore and bring you closer to the edge. Every touch, every movement was carefully tuned to your reactions. He wasn’t just trying to make you feel good—he wanted to know what made you tick, to learn the rhythm of your body in a way no one else had before.
Bradley’s focus never wavered as he continued his work, taking his time to explore, making sure every movement was deliberate and sure. Each kiss, each touch, each gentle caress sent shivers through your body, and you couldn’t stop the quiet gasps that escaped your lips as you reacted to him.
He shifted slightly, and his movements grew more confident. His lips found that sweet spot, the one that made your breath catch, and when he applied a little more pressure, a moan slipped from you—louder than you’d intended, and unmistakably full of need.
You felt your cheeks flush with embarrassment, but then Bradley’s voice, low and full of approval, reached your ears.
“That’s it,” he murmured, his lips curling into a satisfied smile against your skin. “That’s exactly what I wanted to hear.” He repeated the motion, coaxing another breathy moan from you. The sound was so raw, so genuine, it made him groan in return.
You couldn’t hold back anymore, your body arching further into him as the sensations built. “Bradley…” you moaned, almost too loudly, your eyes squeezing shut as a wave of heat coursed through you.
He growled in approval, the sound so deep that it sent a rush of excitement through your veins. “You sound so good, baby. Keep letting me know how you’re feeling.”
Your hands found their way into his hair, fingers threading through it, gripping him closer. The intensity in his gaze grew, and the way he praised you made you feel both empowered and desired in a way you’d never experienced before. You felt your body reacting to him, to his touch, to the way he made you feel so seen, so good.
Every movement he made, every sound you gave him, only fueled the connection between you two. This wasn’t just physical—it was raw, emotional, a dance of vulnerability and trust. And Bradley loved hearing you like this, loved knowing he was the one who could make you feel this way.
Every touch, every flick of his tongue, every deliberate movement made your entire body hum with need. You felt yourself coming undone, the sensations overwhelming as your breath hitched and your body responded to him.
Then, with one final, deliberate motion, Bradley pushed you over the edge. Your back arched as the release washed over you, your body trembling in waves of pleasure. A gasp escaped your lips, followed by a low moan, as the intensity of the moment left you breathless, unable to form words. It was the first time a guy had made you finish just with his mouth and hands, and it left you gasping, completely undone.
Bradley’s lips curled into a satisfied smile as he crawled back up the bed, his hands gently brushing the hair away from your face. His eyes were soft with affection, his gaze intense as he looked down at you, making sure you were okay.
“You alright?” he asked, his voice hushed, a mix of concern and pride.
You nodded, still panting slightly, the aftermath of the orgasm leaving you weak but content.
“Yeah,” you breathed, your voice unsteady. “I’m… I’ve never felt anything like that before.”
Bradley chuckled softly, his thumb brushing over your cheek as he leaned down to kiss you gently, a tender contrast to the intensity of the moments before. “I’m glad I could give that to you,” he said, his voice warm and full of sincerity.
You smiled up at him, feeling a mix of vulnerability and comfort, knowing that this moment was something you’d never forget. His presence, the way he made you feel, was unlike anything you’d ever experienced before.
Bradley settled beside you, keeping you close, his hand resting on your waist as he held you. Bradley’s hand gently traced patterns on your skin as he settled next to you, a teasing smile tugging at his lips.
“So, what do you want to try next?” he asked, his voice low, a mix of curiosity and amusement.
You blinked up at him, feeling a newfound boldness. Without missing a beat, you shot him a playful smirk. “I want to ride you.”
The words hung in the air for a moment before Bradley’s eyes darkened, his breath hitching at the unexpectedness of your response. A grin spread across his face, his hands moving quickly as he pulled you on top of him, your bodies aligning with a hunger that was only growing.
“Damn, baby,” he groaned, the thought of you in control sending heat shooting through his veins.
You both shared a laugh, the playful tension still crackling in the air, before the moment turned more serious again. But this time, there was no question—the night was only just beginning.

summary: when he introduces you to his family, but it seems like the younger brother doesn't have the expected reaction
request: yes
may contain spelling and translation errors!
It was a sunny Saturday in Birmingham, and the weather was perfect for the lunch Jude had been planning for weeks. He was eager, though he wouldn’t admit it, to officially introduce you to his family. Until now, they had only known you through a few stories and videos that he had shared with them with enthusiasm. Today would be different. Today they would meet the woman who had stolen his heart.
You were visibly nervous as you adjusted your simple but elegant dress in the rearview mirror.
—They’re going to like you, babe. —Jude said, squeezing your hand gently. —You’re amazing, Y/n. It can’t be any other way.
—I just… want to make a good impression.
You replied, your eyes betraying a hint of anxiety.
Jude smiled, leaning in to kiss your forehead.
—You’re going to be perfect, as always.
As soon as you arrived at the Bellingham house, you felt the warmth of the welcome. Denise was the first to wrap you in a tight hug.
—We finally met the girl Jude talks about so much!
She said, smiling warmly.
Mark, on the other hand, was more reserved, but kind. He shook your hand firmly, silently nodding his approval. You felt relief course through your veins.
Then Jobe came. At only 16, he seemed less at ease than the rest of the family. Tall and with the same unassuming smile as your boyfriend, he kept a slightly stiff posture as he greeted you.
—Hi, I'm Jobe. I've heard a lot about you!
He said, his voice slightly shaky.
You smiled, warm and spontaneous.
—I hope good things, Jobe!
The younger brother blushed instantly, looking away.
—Oh, yes, of course. Good things, lots of good things.
Jude watched the interaction closely, his smile fading slightly. He knew that look on his brother's face —it was the same one he used to give you in the first few months he'd known you.
During lunch, you quickly won over everyone at the table. You had funny stories and a light-hearted manner that charmed your in-laws. Even Jobe, who was usually more reserved, laughed at your jokes.
—And then Jude tried to cook for me once. —You said, laughing. —He even burned the water!
The table erupted in laughter, and Jude shook his head, feigning indignation.
—Okay, it was just once, and I was trying to impress.
—Well, it seems to have worked.
Denise commented, smiling at you approvingly.
Jobe, on the other hand, remained quieter, but his eyes were constantly on you. Every time you looked at him or asked him something directly, he would visibly blush, stumbling over his words to answer.
—So, Jobe, how are trainings going? Jude talks about you a lot.
You asked with genuine interest.
Jobe choked slightly on his water.
—Oh... they’re good. Well... intense, but it's... it's nice, you know?
Jude narrowed his eyes, watching the interaction carefully. When you leaned over to pick something up and accidentally brushed against your brother-in-law's arm, your younger brother's face turned red and that bothered the older Bellingham.
Later, while you were talking to Denise in the kitchen, Jude pulled Jobe out into the backyard.
—So, what's going on, huh?
Jude asked, crossing his arms.
—What do you mean?
He answered, trying to sound casual.
—You know exactly what I mean. The way you look at Y/n. —Jude stepped forward, his expression serious. —She's my girlfriend, Jobe.
The boy raised his hands in defense, his face still flushed.
—I... it's nothing, right? I just think she's... nice, that's all.
Jude narrowed his eyes, assessing his brother.
—I hope so. Because I love her, and I won’t let anyone, not even you, ruin that.
Jobe sighed, shoving his hands in his pockets.
—I wouldn’t do that, Jude. You know that. Just… relax, okay?
He finally nodded, but still kept a warning look on his face.
—Okay, just remember: Y/n is my girl.
Later, while Jude helped his mother clear the table, you found Jobe alone in the living room. He looked uncomfortable, fiddling with his phone as if he wanted to avoid eye contact.
—Jobe, is everything fine?
You asked, sitting down next to him.
He glanced at you quickly and then looked away.
—Yeah, sure, Y/n. It’s fine.
You smiled softly, touching his arm lightly.
—Look, I know Jude can be a little… protective sometimes. But he only does it because he cares.
He finally looked at you, his eyes revealing a mix of emotions.
—You’re amazing. Jude is lucky to have you.
You blushed slightly, surprised by his sincerity.
—Thank you, Jobe. That means a lot.
When Jude entered the room, he saw you smiling at Jobe and his brother looking at you with an admiration that was hard to ignore. He immediately approached, putting his arm around her waist.
—Everything okay here?
Jude asked, his tone casual, but his eyes fixed on his brother.
—Yeah. —He replied, standing up quickly. —I’m going to help mum in the kitchen.
When he left, you looked at Jude, confused.
—He’s acting weird, huh?
Jude sighed, squeezing your waist.
—He’s just… a little shy. Nothing to worry about, babe.
But deep down, Jude knew he would have to keep an eye on Jobe for a while. After all, his girl was irresistible – even to his younger brother.

I have a request pretty pls 🙏 could you maybe write a lil sumn about the reader/oc being married to acacius in a diplomatic marriage to prevent war and show that her country surrenders and they sent her as like a prisoner of war/hostage princess situation. the reader/oc loves Marcus but doesn't think he'd choose to love her over roman beauties and Marcus doesn't want to force her into anything bc of the politics. With like whole lots of yearning, jealousy, angst and oh, more yearning, and the delicious most happiest of endings pls pls pls
Hi honey! 🫶🏻✨ I hope this is enough 🪶
Tumblr media
Duties
Tw: forced marriage, loss of virginity mentioned.
First, they killed your soldiers while destroying your city. You saw the streets you walked in your childhood reduced to ruins. The houses were graveyards. They have taken everything and everyone away from you, even from your family. When they brought you to Rome, you were apparently too pretty to be killed. You could have been a slave, but the emperors had other plans for you. You became the general's wife. As your husband, your life was his property as well as your body. In Rome, before the wedding, the girl is supposed to leave everything from her childhood home behind. You couldn't do that because you had nothing left. They took care of you on your wedding day. You had to be a pretty thing for your future husband, nothing more than a doll, like one of those you used to play with as a child. During the ceremony, Acacius was stoic. You were forced to smile and had the impression that he knew this, but couldn't tell what he thought about it. It was almost as if marriage to a beautiful woman was a duty and not a gift from the gods. You were then taken to the house of Marcus for the last rites that would lead to the loss of your dignity. Paradoxically, your husband should have cleansed you with spring water. Meanwhile, the thalamus was prepared. Crocus flowers, considered by the Romans to be a powerful aphrodisiac, were scattered on it. After these rites, you were undressed by an older maid, who also removed ornaments and jewelry that could be dangerous to your husband. you were naked, shivering, your eyes colder than your body. Your sight was blurry and you tried not to look at him. "Can we blow out the candles?" you asked the maid. She shook her head. "You have to see him, now I'll leave you two alone." You finally looked at Marcus and you didn't care that he was a trained general, you would never let that man deflower you. You would rather be killed than to have to carry his child. "Just kill me already, because you are not taking me tonight" you spat. He didn't react. You reached for something to cover your shaking body and jumped when you felt his hand on your arm. "I'm not going to take your virginity tonight." Your expression hardened. "Be a good wife, do as I say, go where I suggest, but know that I won't rape you.” He seemed so serious, you almost couldn't believe it. Then he also covered himself. "Now lie down” he ordered. You slowly did as he said. "Tomorrow they will ask you what happened tonight. Lie, tell them it was painful" you nodded, holding your breath. You fell asleep crying, but you were glad he didn't touch you. The next day, as expected, everyone asked about the first night of marriage. Lying wasn't hard, the other women believed you right away. Life in Rome was depressing. You missed your hometown, the way your people used to act, the typical food. You missed your family, the laughter of the children, your own laughter. Every night Marcus was aware of it and heard you sobbing. He knew it was his fault. The emperors wanted a Roman world, without borders. He was forced to kill and take things from people, but he was not used to it. With you he was gentle, you found yourself searching for him more than once, and you hated yourself for it. "Can I talk to you?" You were in the garden, praying to your ancestors. You nodded and he sat down. "The Romans are greedy. We don't want freedom, we want power."
"We?" you caught him off guard. "No, actually I don't care about power, but I don't expect you to believe me" you gave him a lame smile. "I have to do what the emperors want, and what they wanted back then was your city.” He apologized and you couldn't forgive him. But you felt he was being honest.
February came, the month of rebirth, the Romans had to pay homage to the god Lupercus, and you were still a virgin. the passage to adulthood and the fertility of women was celebrated. Rome was chaotic and several women and men approached you. It was clear that you wanted Marcus to be with you. You couldn't find him and were pulled into the middle of the crowd. He had always given you the impression of being a man true to his own integrity. But you did not know if he was in a brothel on this occasion. "The General's wife!" Two men grabbed your hand and you tried to free yourself. "Come on" they dragged you away from the crowd, and you begged them to let you go. "You should be used to this" one of them said. They were beginning to get irritated with your stubbornness. They were in a hurry to have a look at you and consume you. “Let me enjoy my wife” Marcus arrived. “Won’t you share her with us?” He kissed your cheek and shook his head. "No, I won't share my treasure." You felt strange, you really enjoyed that touch. After that night, you began to soften and you began to know your husband more and more. He was tired, he didn't care about expanding the empire, he just wanted to rest. He was kind to almost everyone, except the emperors. He was wise. He taught you about his ancestors, and you gained the courage to tell him about yours. The nights became your favorite time, you spent hours talking and learning from each other. This was your yearning for intimacy. One night you felt like there were other things you wanted to know, other ways to know him. "I have to be honest with you, Marcus" he nodded. "I'm glad you're my husband. You told me to follow your instructions, but what you have done these months is let me grieve, you have even protected me. Am I still a gift of war or something else?" He approached, his face dangerously close to yours. You felt your cheeks burn crimson. "No” he looked at your lips. "If I may, I'd like to kiss you." You nodded and then felt it. The fear was gone, the mourning was done.

“In all of my career, I have to say that I never thought I would be standing here wearing…these.” Jason looked down to his feet.
The camera focused on the two of you standing next to one another, the lens following Jason’s stare toward the ground. The camera woman zooming in on the bright red Lightning McQueen crocs he was wearing.
You sheepishly admired the shoes, proudly smiling back up to Jason. Bewilderment plastered on his face as he couldn’t believe you actually gifted him Lightning McQueen merch, not even in private but in an interview with multiple cameras pointed at him.
What a predicament he was in. He was definitely not offended when you told him how similar the red car and he were.
“It’s a small thanks from the company for completing your third interview with us.” You smiled brightly at Jason. “Also consider it as a way for us to say ‘good luck’ for your upcoming season.”
Jason couldn’t believe it as he laughed. No matter how much time he spent with you, you always surprised him in the best ways.
“Y’know, I thought the Cars jokes were going to fade out, but you’re a bad influence on my fans.” Jason lightheartedly teased you, stomping his foot enough to let the crocs light up.
You fought a straight face, holding in laughter and trying to stay as serious as you could, but you were about to break any second. You bit the inside of your cheeks to prevent yourself from smiling, internally promising yourself that you would make sure to get a picture of him later.
You already had his new contact picture picked out.
“I couldn’t think of any other way of showing you my support.” You nodded your head proudly.
“Really? Nothing else?” Jason’s eyebrow rose, his tone sarcastic.
“You’re the best F1 driver I’ve ever interviewed.” You smirked, watching the shoes sparkle.
“I’m the only F1 driver you’ve ever interviewed.” Jason looked at you in disbelief.
“Anyway! We’re closing this as the last part of our series, I’m glad you were able to be a guest before you get busy putting on the RedBull uniform again, I know your fans will really enjoy that—” You wrapped up the finale, finalizing the last public appearance the two of you would have next to each other. A bittersweet ending.
But you always had the Jason laying with you on your couch. Feeding each other dinners, taking motorcycle rides late in the night.
“This can’t be the last time I see you. You’re my favorite interviewer.” Jason lulled his voice, rephrasing your earlier comment back at you. “After all, you gifted me something so…special.”
You paused, shocked at Jason’s forwardness with you, the timber of his voice adding an underlying flirty tone to him.
You’ve never talked to him about the public appearance about the two of you. Could you go public?
It’s for the camera. You silently told yourself.
“You have to win for me to see you again.” You smirked, quickly playing along with his attempt to fluster you.
“That’s too easy, you could try to make this a little harder for me.” Jason chuckled lowly. “It’s almost like you want to see me.”
Oh my.
“So much talk for someone who hasn’t started his comeback season.” You playfully rolled your eyes. “You also didn’t start your last season smoothly, so don’t talk so confidently.”
“But who sat at my last press conference celebrating my win? I don’t end things so easily.” Jason tilted his head as he looked down at you, tension increasing. “I’ll come back when I win, it’ll be our little secret.”
Jason winked at you, the cameras focused in on his face and your reactions.
You raised an eyebrow, trying to decipher between the RedBull Jason on camera and your Jason.
He was his playful self, the signature half smirk trying to get you to blush, but his eyes were soft when he glanced over to you.
You calmly gave in, maybe it was for the camera or maybe it was for you.
“Aw, that’s so sweet, but I don’t think I could keep that a secret.” Your polite smile opposing Jason’s mischievous one. “I don’t think you realize but,” you leaned toward Jason, pausing to eye his figure up and down, gleefully watching him pay attention to your every word. Your smile getting wider at how easily he was wrapped around your finger. “I’m a reporter, I can’t keep that beautiful face to myself.”
“But I’m really good at keeping them.” Jason stepped closer, eyes never leaving yours.
His eyes beamed a playful hue to them.
You cleared your throat, looking at the camera woman who also stared in awe.
Crap, the office was going to get suspicious.
“You should focus on winning first before you make any promises.” You coughed, diffusing the atmosphere Jason created as the film crew watched. “Then call my business number and you don’t have to keep any secrets.”
Once the camera stopped rolling, you resumed your professionalism. Saying goodbyes and getting final pictures for the website and both social medias.
All the previous interviews went well. The fans saw Jason’s personality in action, gaining more attention and love for the racer. Jason’s management team was satisfied with you and the attraction he was gaining before the season started.
It gave him the right press he needed to put him in the spotlight.
After Jason left with his management team, you finalized the video upload that his company agreed to. Your draft for a new article about Jason to be edited and reviewed for the upcoming week. It was business as usual.
Getting work done during the day, then meeting Jason for the evening.
When you got back to your desk, you organized yourself to overlook the release date for the final interview and reviewed for the next big project to tackle now that your work with Jason was finished. Multiple meetings with project managers and your team.
Work was picking up for you, managing larger projects, interacting with larger faces.
Jason lit the hallway to opportunities for you.
Your phone lit up next to your laptop, distracting you from one screen to another.
(Handsome) Mr. Todd: pick you up at 6?
You smiled to yourself. Happy, but bittersweet.
You reminded yourself that Jason’s off-season was ending. You wished time could slow down.
—— “Gosh, you’re so clumsy.” You adjusted Jason’s helmet. All the time spent with him reflected in your familiarity with the motorcycle helmet.
“Only for you.” Jason stood there, leaning down to let you reach around his head. Watching you worry about the two of you.
Jason had kept his promise to pick you up.
Most of the time he waited on you to get back from work. Sometimes pushing the boundaries and secretly meeting you for a quick lunch. Meeting him far from where your coworkers frequented.
Your first encounters were hidden behind the idea of work, finding answers to questions for interviews, or suggesting new places to eat.
It was like you couldn’t be apart from one another.
Oh, how you can change a man.
You let Jason fake his ignorance through certain tasks, giving him any reason to get you close to him.
But you gave into his every attempt. Not fighting against his clinginess.
Your roles would switch soon, he wouldn’t wait for you after tiring days of work. You would have to watch him race lap after lap on live television like the rest of the world.
He was leaving soon, you knew he would be busy, it was inevitable, but you wanted as much time before he left.
You sat behind Jason, his body warming the front of you as you wrapped your arms around his waist.
Holding onto him close, wearing the helmet he got you, feeling his solid stomach shift the motorcycle as you rode around the city. You were getting used to your new lifestyle, despite the hidden secrets you shared.
He couldn’t announce a relationship after you were waiting for the last installment of your interviews.
The timing wasn’t right and the meetings this would cause for you and Jason were going to give you a headache.
You heard the motorcycle engine interrupt your thoughts.
Jason slowing at a red light. He stopped, placing his feet on the ground to stabilize the two of you while you waited. The red glow reflected onto Jason sitting in front of you.
The streets were almost empty. Gotham barely waking to the darkness, a city that never sleeps.
“Jay.” You hesitated behind him.
“Hm?” Jason unconsciously acknowledged, resting his hand over yours around his stomach. Rubbing the fabric of his gloves onto yours.
“I want to stay with you longer.” You calmed your voice, careful in verbalizing your feelings.
“You want to drive around more? I think we can drive by—“ Jason continued to rub your wrists. Cars passing in front of him, the opposing traffic keeping you still.
“No, I don’t want to leave you tonight.”
Jason paused, his hand resting on yours, no longer moving. If the cars weren’t in front of you, crossing the intersection, you would have thought time was frozen.
Jason tilted his helmet back, to get a look at you.
You don’t know what he was looking for, your face covered by a protective helmet like his was, but he found what he needed when the light turned green.
It was green, but you stayed there, no other traffic surrounding you.
Just you and Jason.
“Want to come to my place?” Jason kept his black visor on you. “I have a killer TV to watch Cars on.”
You chuckled. Squeezing his waist a little more.
“Better have a good speaker for playing Life is a Highway.”
Jason smirked, hidden from your eyes as he watched you lean back into his warmth.
The humid air covering the two of you into summer clothing. Thinner fabrics and showing more skin.
Jason wore a simple fitted thin long-sleeve, matching the look of his helmet and gloves. It made a great view of his broad back.
A quiet exhale as he looked forward again, revving his engine to life to make a quick turn, opposite of your home.
You were racing the rain as Jason was taking you back, but after you spoke the magic words, how could he send you back home?
The dark summer rain clouds were no longer behind you, the two of you heading straight for them as you watch Jason take you down new streets, an unfamiliar path to Jason’s place.
“I don’t think you’ll make it to the living room before then.” Jason quietly spoke to the light drizzle hitting your bodies
“What did you say?” You couldn’t hear above the engine.
And he was right.
After you were soaked to the bone, fabric sticking to your form, water droplets falling down your skin. A glossy sheen from the harsh rain falling all around you.
Jason had pulled into his garage.
He was in the same state, wet clothes stuck to his skin. The water from you and the motorcycle dripping onto the concrete floor.
You pulled your helmet off, the only dry place.
Once Jason parked the bike, he took off his helmet, placing it on the nearest work table. Your body shivered as you threw your leg over to maneuver yourself off.
You looked down at your state, smiling in disbelief at being caught in the rain.
Maybe you could wear Jason’s clothes after a nice warm shower. You internally thought to yourself. Excited to enter Jason’s place. A new location unlocked.
When you put your helmet next to Jason’s, you could finally take in all of him.
Black shirt tight from the weight of the water, his hands littered with scars, free from the gloves. His hair dry, but messy.
All his muscles more prominent.
You stood in awe, your chest rising from the breaths you took. Humid air invading the inside of the garage, elevated from warm summer nights.
The sight of Jason reminded you of the professional pictures taken of him, leaving his Formula 1 car after a race. He was sweaty, running his hands through his hair with a towel in hand.
After all the time you spent together, it was your favorite photo of him. You secretly saved it because there was something about the look on his face, happy to win, alive on the track.
How attractive he looked was a definite bonus in your opinion.
Jason glanced over to you, finally realizing the state the two of you were in. He slowly looked you up and down, lost in the same visual you were in awe of once you saw him.
You suddenly remembered the last time you and Jason were enclosed in a garage, close to each other, messy from a hard day of distributing winter jackets and food to those who stopped by.
A slight warmth increasing on your face.
Jason stepped closer to you, hands grabbing for your waist to pull you in. His hands reaching under your chin to stretch your neck to adjust to his height.
Breaths mixing as your lips touched only from the movement of your lips unconsciously opening, ready to kiss him.
He waited.
Letting the pressure build as he spoke.
“There’s no volunteers to interrupt us now.” Jason lifted you, letting you sit on the surface of his work table. His arm swooping everything off as he cleared enough room for you.
You could hear objects fall, but you couldn’t care less as Jason stepped between your legs. Quickly, but carefully rubbing at your legs with his palms, his hands getting closer to the blurs of where your thighs met your waist.
Everywhere felt great that you didn’t know where to focus.
The feeling of your lips, your sides, his body between your legs?
You could only huff between the intensity he was igniting in you.
“Jay—inside—it’s cold.”
Despite your words, you didn’t bother to move. You kept touching, feeling everything before Jason lifted you again, the placement of his hands as he carried you, lifting the edges of your shirt.
The feeling of a mattress beneath you as you uncomfortably tried to peel the clothing off your body.
Jason chuckled at your frustration. You couldn’t bother to give him a snide remark as he also struggled to get your soaked clothes off.
When lifting the shirt didn’t work, you tried rolling the fabric, but it only bunched just below your sleeves.
You could only laugh as Jason desperately tried to get the shirt through your arms. Tangled in the mess you both created that you were left with a heavy shirt stuck around your biceps.
“Why is there always something stopping me from seeing all of you?” Jason laughed as he kneeled above you, his shirt completely off at some point along the way to his room.
“I don’t think a pair of wet clothes are going to stop you now.” You smiled at him, glancing up at his figure through the darkness. Only the city lights creeping through the blinds, illuminating his skin.
“Fuck, you’re gorgeous.” Jason yanked your entire shirt off your arms.
You sucked in a breath at his desperation, memorizing the look of his face as he leaned down closer.
“I want to turn you into a mess.” He whispered into your mouth, kissing down your body.
Overwhelming gasps and breaths left your mouth the more he touched your skin.
“I want to touch you too.” You exhaled, trying to coherently express yourself.
“Next time, sweetheart. I want to focus on you. Everything I want is you.” Jason moved your hair out of your face, stuck from the sweat covering your skin.
The night filled with you repeating Jason’s name, no distractions keeping that man off of you.
After a shared warm shower, Jason gave you a nice pair of his dry clothes. You walked around his place, relaxed after Jason’s…expertise.
What you weren’t prepared for was just how normal his apartment looked. It felt like yours, but bigger, a little more luxurious like it was bought with the intention of having better quality to last longer.
You hoped he had no plans of moving anytime soon.
You stood in the kitchen in awe.
“You have a kitchen island.” You whistled in excitement. “Formula 1 money is good, huh? Maybe I need to pick up a Redbull uniform.”
Jason chuckled, hugging you from behind smelling like the same soap in your hair, his face nuzzling into your neck. You continued to speak.
“No, I can’t steal your fame.” You whispered to yourself. Jason feeling the vibration of your voice the longer he leaned into your neck.
“I’m happy you’re here.” Jason mumbled into you, ignoring everything you said.
“Me too, I’ve been curious where you live.”
“I invited you before, but I guess we’ve always gone to your place.” Jason smiled into your skin. “What do you think?”
“Its very…Jason. I like it.” You glanced around.
You more than liked it. It smelt like Jason. A smell you’ll never grow tired of.
His apartment was slightly bare, the space a little too large for the one man, but that was charming too. It felt like you were able to occupy that small empty space in his life.
When you walked around, Jason following you like a duckling, you noticed the small knick-knacks you bought with him on your dates.
Matching plushies, a book you picked randomly, a bookmark you gifted him, and a tiny paper frog you made while waiting for your table before dinner.
You felt cherished, looking at the physical representations of your memories together.
He grabbed you again, wanting the closeness. You fell back into him, the small paper frog in your hand, made from old receipt paper.
Jason resumed his prior back hug, absorbing your warmth.
He was more clingy than usual tonight.
“How was your trip to the charity today? I forgot to ask you about it at dinner, it must be hard to take a break from them to race again.” You leaned into him more.
Jason buried himself further. Not a great hiding spot since he was larger, but it was the thought that counted.
“I would love to hear about it.” You put the frog back on the shelf, letting it watch the two of you.
“It was good, I got to do one final check to make sure everything would be good when I’m gone. But…” Jason hesitated, squeezing you a little tighter.
You waited, rubbing circles on his forearm.
“I had noticed a lot of stuff come in, it’s a good thing, but it wasn’t like our usual haul. I didn’t recognize it as the stuff I brought over either.” Jason breathed, agitation filling his voice. “When I asked around about it, they said Wayne Enterprises had it delivered.”
Jason went silent. He was tense.
“I always tell that old man to fuck off. He never listens.” Jason sighed.
The last thing Jason wanted was another check from Bruce. Taking over the hard work he had volunteered for months.
Another sanctuary was being taken away from Jason’s grasp.
“I can’t stand it.” Jason whispered. His eyebrows taut.
You maneuvered your head back to kiss him on the cheek.
“I’m sorry, I know that was the last thing you wanted to happen.” You soothed.
Jason leaned in for more kisses.
“Don’t worry, I’m feeling better already.” He exhaled, his shoulders relaxing. Jason smiled into your skin, his voice returning to normal. “But looking at those damn crocs every morning makes me mad.”
You laughed as he grew bolder, pushing the topic aside as you leaned to the floor buried from Jason’s affection surge.
If he was deflecting, distracting himself from his hurt then you could let him kiss you a couple times to distract himself.
Shared kisses, lost in each other’s presence, too occupied to notice the multiple buzzing sounds from Jason’s phone.
——
Once the public release of the third and final interview was released to your company’s website, the usual flood of comments embraced the look at the two of you.
You lost yourself in the positive comments, ignoring the negative ones, but that was the price of social media. It was the evils of publicity.
You read comment after comment about the excitement to watch the fresh new season. Iconic racers coming back to their playing field, excited to reveal new car designs, getting the opportunity to collaborate with anyone and everyone.
As the time for Qualifying reached you, the temperature fully warmed and Jason wasn’t next to you to enjoy it.
He had conferences, practice drives, and flights to catch. Now that he was past elimination, it was time to test his fastest time.
It wasn’t even the peak of the season, but you were missing him.
You sighed into your phone, a small vibration felt in your palm. A message from Jason appeared.
It was a photo of his Lightning McQueen crocs on the plane. A big contrast to the fancy carpeting, expensive seats, and an up-to-date screen playing the children’s movie.
You smiled to yourself in your desk chair, but a small prick to your heart struck you.
The difference in your lifestyles hitting you. He was a rich racer, traveling the world in one of the most expensive suits in modern racing.
You felt…small.
The two of you hadn’t talked about what would happen once he started racing full-time again.
How far was this relationship going?
Would you follow him to his races around the world? Should you follow him?
Would you officially announce anything?
Was this an off-season romance? Only an off-season romance?
What about your job?
“Hey, we need to be there by one. Should we grab a quick lunch?” Your coworker called out to you, interrupting your pessimistic thoughts to yourself.
“Yeah, I’ll be right there. Meet you in the lobby?” You locked your computer, grabbing your key badge, ready to go out of the office.
You quickly typed out a message, taking advantage of Jason still on his phone.
You: Hey slow down try to give the other guys a chance
(Handsome) Mr. Todd: fast is the only way I go. you, especially, should know that ;)
You blushed, quickly putting away your phone to catch up with your team.
——
Jason’s performance during qualifying went as expected. He performed in P1, claiming and boasting as he usually did. His time seemed to be getting faster, raising the competition standards for everyone.
You only shook your head as you looked at the results on your phone, a small smile on your face.
Jason was busy going to opening days, press conferences, driving on the racetrack. His replies were becoming sparse.
You: I knew those crocs were good luck charms
No read receipt. No reply.
You kept yourself busy at work. Falling into a routine.
You checked your phone again during lunch. No messages.
Your apartment felt empty when you came home, no lovable man standing in the kitchen.
Still no reply from Jason. It would’ve made you sad if you weren’t so tired.
Your phone rang as you got ready for bed. Letting your head hit the pillow as you heard Jason’s voice in your ear.
“I just saw— paper frogs that—vendor—the street and—grab some.” Jason’s voice went in and out of your mind, fighting the urge to sleep.
His voice was too soothing.
“That’s nice, Jay.” You slurred.
“Sweetheart? Are you awake—“ His voice started to get farther and farther.
You couldn’t keep your eyes open and your dreams filled with you sitting in the stands, watching Jason race.
Wind hitting your skin, watching the flags fly in the air, engines roaring past you.
He was so far away and kept driving further away from you.
You jerked awake. Looking for your phone in the blankets.
You had fallen asleep while on your first phone call with Jason since he left.
“Shit, I wanted to hear his voice.” You shook the blanket in the air until your phone fell from it.
You looked at your call history. Apparently, it had been a video call, but you hadn’t realized after you woke up this morning.
Jason not only heard you embarrass yourself, but he saw it too. You quickly opened your messaging conversation.
You (Yesterday): I knew those crocs were good luck charms
You (Today): i’m sorry I didn’t know it was a video call
(Handsome) Mr. Todd: don’t worry about it, I got to see u when your phone fell off your face
“Nooo!” You screamed to yourself.
Your face fell in your hands as you read the messages coming in.
(Handsome) Mr. Todd: I got something out of it HAHAHA
(Handsome) Mr. Todd: let’s talk next time
(Handsome) Mr. Todd: I wanna hear your voice
You sighed.
Getting up to start your weekend, putting Jason’s live race on the TV screen.
Putting on the shirt that smelled like Jason.

accounting - azzi fudd
Tumblr media
pairing: azzi fudd x fem!reader (no use of y/n) wc: 2.8k synopsis: you're watching kk and the rest of the team fool around on live when azzi fudd walks in asking for an accounting tutor. deciding to humor it, you're surprised to find that azzi was completely serious, and even more surprised when your offer leads to something more between the two of you. notes: in honor of azzi fudd hoops last night - i was supposed to have this up before the game but i forgot i had a three hour lab and unfortunately i will not write fanfiction in the middle of the university food court. first tumblr post, lmk if we're rockin w it 🙂‍↕️
You’re settling into bed to unwind for the night when you get the TikTok notification.
KK Arnold has gone live!
For the better part of your day, you’ve had your nose in the books, trying to get ahead of your weekly homework. You have a terrible habit of letting most of it pile up during the week and finishing it all over the weekend. As an accounting major, you didn’t really have fun weekend plans, anyway, but it would be nice to lay in bed all day and not worry about something that was due at 11:59. You only had three classes today: managerial accounting, intro to auditing, and intermediate accounting. It wasn’t a rigorous schedule by any means; you were done and out of classes by lunchtime, but after two and a half hours of listening to your professors drone on, you were ready for the nap you couldn’t afford to take due to your piles of homework.
Seeing the live notification is enough to remind you that you aren’t really that tired, so you click on it. KK’s face fills the screen and she’s unboxing Crumbl cookies. You say a silent prayer for the girls – Crumbl tasted terrible and that was a hill you were willing to die on. Paige sat behind KK, with Ayanna, Jana, Kayla, and a few other players milling about off-camera. For a painful few minutes, KK tries her best to get everyone’s attention so she can narrate about whatever monstrosity of a cookie they’re eating, but everyone’s laughing too hard to fully lock in.
Ayanna leaves to get a knife so KK can cut the cookies evenly. KK entertains the live while Ayanna is away, singing, chatting, and interacting with commenters. When Ayanna finally returns, she has the knife, but Azzi also trails behind her - a fact that the live is definitely appreciative of. “Oh, my God, look who it is!” KK intones in a shrill voice, much to Azzi’s clear bewilderment. You’ve never seen an expression of such confusion on someone’s face before. “It’s Azzi Fudd!”
Azzi buries her face in her hands and moves off-camera as everyone laughs. KK’s voice softens as she asks, “Azzi, wanna try a cookie?”
“No,” Azzi whines.
KK’s entire expression shifts, and admittedly, yours does, too. It’s no secret that Azzi was almost nationally known as the people’s princess. Perhaps you’d have to fight someone. You hope that no one’s actually done something wrong to her – first of all, you can’t even fathom the idea. It’d be like kicking a puppy. Second of all, you were just someone, along with 13,000 other viewers, watching the team interact behind a screen. You were sure that Azzi’s team would handle business, although you were willing to step in if needed, too, even if you stood a solid six inches shorter than Azzi herself. “What happened?” KK asks. Paige echoes her question.
“Ask the live if anyone can tutor me in accounting,” Azzi says forlornly.
You don’t think she’s serious until KK turns back just in time for the cowboy hat to return. “Hey, y’all! Is there anybody who’s really good at accounting for Azzi Fudd? Please send help. If you do have someone who’s really good at accounting, please DM me at k2times TikTok or at kamoreaarnold Instagram or at azzifudd Instagram! Thank yew.” The room dissolves into giggles as KK continues, “And if you DM me with edits or anything else but accounting help, I will block! Thank yew.”
You have the time today, so you switch over to Instagram as the live continues in the background, and you go to Azzi’s page and hit the Message option. You doubt she’ll see it, let alone respond, but as an accounting major, it’s basically your civic duty to help those in need, especially since you know these classes are hell.
hey do u actually need accounting help? i major in it!
Satisfied, you click back over to the live just in time for Azzi to comment, “KK, I might actually have a tutor,” she says in near disbelief. You think nothing of it as KK turns her head, humming at Azzi. “Wait, I think she’s in my class.”
That manages to catch your attention. Sure, you’re watching a live with a couple thousand people on it, but how many of those people are accounting students at UConn who happen to share a class with Azzi Fudd?
An Instagram notification pops up on your screen as Paige leaves the camera frame to most likely peer over Azzi’s shoulder. You’re shocked again to see Azzi has DM’ed you back.
Yes please this homework is killing me Are you in ACCT3201 with Cansler??? I recognize you
Discovering just how unobservant you are should not come as a great surprise. Apparently, you’ve been sharing a class with Azzi Fudd this entire semester and you didn’t even realize it. This is easily the most embarrassing moment of your entire life.
i am i can’t believe i didn’t know u were in it i’m a lot better at accounting than i am at paying attention, i promise
This draws a giggle from Azzi that you can hear over the live. It makes a flush rise on your cheeks. The fact that Azzi Fudd knows who you are combined with the fact she’s laughing at your jokes is enough for a feeling of anticipation to twist in your chest. This is your life now, apparently.
“Azzi is cheesing so bad,” KK teases. You can’t help but feel a little pride at that. “Who’s chatting her up right now? Lemme invite you. Accounting rizz is insane work.”
“Don’t scare away my tutor,” Azzi grumbles, coming back into view of the camera. True to KK’s words, a faint blush has settled on her cheeks. Feeling far too smug, you comment on the live, ‘calling it rizz is crazy, i’m just helping the people.’ Azzi’s eyes scan the screen before rolling slightly. “Look at what you did, KK.”
“Is that her?” KK shrieks. She leans in closer to the screen, blocking out much of the background. “Oh, she fine. Lock in, Azzi; she can help you with more than accounting.”
At that, you and Azzi both blush a deep scarlet red and Azzi turns on her heel. “Goodbye, KK!” The room dissolves into rambunctious laughter as Azzi walks out, calling, “I’m going to finish my homework!”
A moment passes before Azzi messages you again.
I’m so sorry about KK, she’s feral
You swipe away from the live again, grinning slightly. In your DMs, the typing bubbles appear for a few short moment. You heart her most recent message in the meantime.
Will you please help me? I genuinely don’t understand what I’m doing wrong
Yes, you’ve spent most of the day in classes and doing homework. Yes, you’re tired. Yes, you really only joined the live to unwind. But when Azzi asks for help, you can’t really say no to her.
of course, are u working on this week’s homework set?
Her affirmative response is swift, telling you what she’s having trouble with. Your fingers hesitate on your screen, trying to figure out how to put your thoughts into words before settling.
i know this is incredibly forward but would u want to ft? i can explain better verbally
Azzi sends you her number. After tonight’s events, you really shouldn’t be surprised anymore, but you can’t help it. Azzi is a nationally (and internationally) recognized college basketball player and, until now, you were just a girl who watched her team’s TikTok lives and cheered in the student section. Azzi had seemed so untouchable, by virtue of her celebrity and your lack thereof; it’s hard to believe you’re this close to her now, even if it’s just to help her with accounting homework.
The two of you talk well into the night, even hours after Azzi submits her problem sets successfully and she understands the material. You feel like you get to see a side of her so rarely seen by other people who aren’t her teammates. She’s softer, with a beaming smile on her face when she finally understands a difficult concept. There’s something so alluring about the way she speaks that you can’t help but listen to every single thing that comes out of her mouth, ranging from her frustrated rants to the smoothness of her giggle. The lamplight reflects off of the lenses of the glasses perched on her nose and you think she’s so incredibly beautiful – bare-faced and slightly delirious from staying up so late.
When the two of you finally hang up half past three, you can’t wipe the smile off your face, and somehow, you just know that this is the start of something new.
From then on, your friendship with Azzi all but flourishes. She’s incredibly sweet, soft-spoken, and so deliberate in the way she moves and speaks to you. When your next accounting class rolls around, she finds the seat next to yours, asking to sit there with an almost shy expression. When there’s lulls in the lecture, you entertain her with jokes, drawing red-cheeked giggles that she has to stifle. You’re almost like her personal TA, sitting next to her and clarifying concepts that she doesn’t understand. It helps you, too; the best study advice you’d ever received was to teach it to someone else.
Your friendship progresses outside of the lecture room and outside of your texts. You both spend a lot of time in the library, studying in peace together or enjoying lunch in each other's company. You always thought Azzi was gorgeous, but now that you know her on a far more personal level, falling for her was a near guarantee. The far-away admiration transformed into something pure, genuine. You couldn’t imagine Azzi returning those feelings — she’s far too busy, too committed to ball — so you keep your rapidly growing crush close to your chest.
You’ve always showed up to the UConn games, though there’s something distinctly different about them now. Azzi was never one for grand celebrations or trash talk in the way Paige was. She was intentional and lowkey, which is why you feel like you could float when she makes direct eye contact with you in the student section, throwing up three fingers to celebrate a particularly deep three. It’s why you cheese when she finds you after the game, after she’s showered and changed, and asks if you want to get ice cream with her. The better question was how could you refuse?
Azzi deliberates between vanilla and cookie dough for a long while before settling on the latter. Even as the clerk fills her bowl, she stares at the the vanilla and your choice of ice cream becomes obvious. Azzi stares at you as the clerk fills your bowl with vanilla. “What? It’s my favorite flavor,” you lie, and her lips quirk up as she studies you.
“Said literally no one ever,” she says wryly. The clerk hands you the bowl and Azzi swipes her card before you have the chance to even contemplate otherwise. When you stare at her in disbelief, her smile widens and all fight leaves your body. What were you supposed to do about that? You were a puddle for pretty women — a puddle for Azzi, honestly — and your resolve should be commended for maintaining months of friendship with Azzi.
The two of you find a secluded booth towards the back of the ice cream shop. Azzi shares her midterm grade — a solid 100, and you whistle lowly. “I got an 89,” you say, not hurt by it at all. As long as it was above an 80, you could care less. “You sure you still need me?”
Azzi swirls her ice cream around her bowl, suddenly quiet. The realization dawns on you immediately. Your words were meant to be a joke, but the truth to them stuns you. You really hoped Azzi would say, ‘of course not, it’s not like that!’ but her silence keeps you guessing.
“I have a confession to make,” she says after a beat, finally glancing up at you. The vulnerability and nervousness makes your heart fall out of your ass. “Promise it won’t make anything weird?”
You open your mouth just to close it again. You clear your throat. “Promise, Az,” you say finally. “What’s wrong?”
“Nothing!” she says quickly. “Um, so here’s the thing. I struggled a lot with the first problem set. You know, the one I needed the tutor for?” You nod, confused by her words. “You helped a lot. And, like, I haven’t really needed actual tutoring in weeks. I just really liked spending time with you.” You blink at her. She stares at you right back, brows furrowed with guilt and her doe eyes wide. “I’m sorry. You must feel like I wasted your time.”
At that, you can’t help but laugh, and Azzi pouts. “Az. I thought you were about to dump me,” you explain. “Plus, I kinda figured after a while we were just like, studying together, and not me actually tutoring.”
She sighs, burying her face in her hands. You laugh again, pushing your leftover ice cream towards her. Azzi glances up again, her eyes soft and fond. “I guess I just wanted an excuse for you to stick around.”
“You never needed one,” you tell her honestly, and a blush creeps up her neck.
“You’re not really picking up what I’m putting down, are you?”
Her words almost make you recoil. It’s no secret at this point that you can be a little oblivious, but her words make your heart skip a beat. “Az, I have no idea what you’re putting down,” you admit.
“So, I just admitted to you that I liked spending time with you and lied about needing study help just so I’d have an excuse to hang out with you,” Azzi confirms. “We are sitting here, alone, after a game while my teammates celebrate at Ted’s. All of that, and you have no idea what I’m putting down?”
The realization hits you like a ton of bricks. “Oh,” you say smartly.
“Yeah.”
“So, you like me?” you ask just to be one hundred percent sure.
She smiles at you. You’re certain your heart almost stops beating. “How could I not?” she asks like it’s the easiest thing in the world. “You make me laugh. You’re always so patient with me, you make me feel seen — like I can just be myself. It’s… hard to find something genuine like this. You don’t expect anything from me.”
“I just want you to be happy,” you say simply.
Her eyes confirm everything for you. You’re not observant, sure, but your main priority has always been what was directly in front of you. And right now, it’s hard to focus on anything that’s not Azzi. Azzi’s eyes are so soft, kinder than anything you’ve ever seen before. They hold so much understanding but there’s also a silent plea of let this be mutual that you’re too happy to give into.
“I’ve been falling for you for a while,” you admit, and her face brightens. Your shoulders feel lighter; carrying around your feelings has burdened you, but if it’s the price you had to pay to make sure Azzi felt comfortable and that she could have friendships without people taking advantage of her celebrity, then so be it. You’d bear a lot more for her if it ever came down to it. “I kept it to myself for a while,” you continued. “You deserve normal. A friendship without expectations. But, God, Az, how could anyone not fall for you?”
Azzi’s cheeks flush a pretty red. You can’t help but smile at her, growing a little braver, and you slide your hand across the table. She wastes no time before intertwining your fingers together, giving your hand a gentle squeeze.
She walks you home that night, refusing to let go of you until you’re halfway through your doorstep. She stops you; her height would be intimidating if you didn’t know she was the sweetest person to ever walk the earth. “Can I…” She trails off, her hands gentle on your waist.
You don’t need much more convincing — you loop your arms around her neck and tug her down to your height, planting your lips on hers with a softness that she eagerly reciprocates. You can taste the vanilla on her lips, the sweetness of the cookie dough, and the promise of something distinctly reminiscent of Azzi Fudd. You’re suddenly thankful for KK’s stupid live, for Crumbl cookie, for the accounting class you shared together. It’s all led you to where you are now, in Azzi’s arms outside of your apartment, overcome with the knowledge that all of this is so new, but you have everything you could have possibly wanted.
(You ask her to officially be your girlfriend two weeks after that, having been on three dates since — it’s only after you pop the question and the two of you are settling in to watch a movie that she admits to you the real reason she was struggling so bad with the problem sets was because she’d spend entire lecture periods staring at you. You roll your eyes, feeling inexplicably cared for in a way you haven’t experienced before Azzi, and your only true response to her confession is the lingering kiss you place on her lips.)

cold gf yooyeon x fem reader please? 😓
yes! 🙆‍♂️
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
summary: kim yooyeon as your cold gf
warnings/tags: fluff, established relationship, f!reader, cold gf!yooyeon, opposites attract trope,
Tumblr media
cold gf!yooyeon who surprisingly spoke to you first when you met through mutual friends. you were jokingly warned that she probably wouldn't speak a word to you, but instead she was intrigued and only spoke to you the whole time
she was hesitant to speak to you at first, knowing the way she could come off at times, but the second a smile grew on your face as soon as she said the first word had her feeling reassured enough to try and hold a conversation, which ended in you giving her your number not even knowing if she would bother texting you
it was the middle of the night when she texted you, and it was the most shortest message you'd seen someone give. all she said was "thanks" leaving you staring at your phone confused. she added another message after saying it was her, simply an "it's yooyeon", and then it clicked. obviously, she wasn't much of a texter, or talker.
cold gf!yooyeon who asked you out randomly out of nowhere while hanging out. she said it so nonchalantly you almost didn't believe her, but the look in her eyes told you she's dead serious about it. when you said yes, she gave you a tiny smile and said she'd text you details
she suddenly started texting you more, and they weren't as dry as they usually came out as. she seemed to be trying to put more effort into it, which surprised herself when she realized it.
cold gf!yooyeon who only is nice to you. she couldn't give a damn about how she appears to others, but she cares about you. it's like a switch is flipped whenever she's with you, especially in private when she actually gives a few smiles here and there just by talking to you. there's just something about you that makes her feel different somehow, she can't explain it with words
it's obvious when you two are in public with friends how much she cares about you. always having an arm around your waist or holding your hand in hers while talking to you or others. she looks at you like you're her whole world, but when she looks at anyone else it's a glare as if she's annoyed by their mere presence around her
cold gf!yooyeon who gets jealous easily, especially when guys can't take a hint that you're with her. she knows you don't do it on purpose or try to. she gives the benefit of the doubt knowing it's not exactly evident you two are together unless you're directly kissing her, but it still pisses her off every time.
she glares from afar as she watches another guy flirt with you, trying to keep calm before eventually walking over. she wraps her arms around you from behind, resting her chin on your shoulder as she stares down the male in front of you. "who's this?" she questions every time, waiting for a response. you either respond with "nothing" or said man responds with his name, to which she just scoffs and shakes her head, pulling you away with her
cold gf!yooyeon who is terrible at communication. it's hard to tell when she's upset or mad, her face not changing whatsoever leaving you in the dark not knowing how she's feeling. she doesn't talk about it, either. claiming she doesn't like talking about her feelings with others. a few arguments have occurred cause of this, mainly spent with you screaming for her to just talk to you which she only does when she sees the tears in your eyes.
she tries to talk more after that, caring too much about you to fuck it up and lose you just cause she wouldn't talk about her feelings. it's awkward at first, with her not knowing what to say seeing as she never had to, but with enough reassurance from you, it comes out more comfortably knowing you won't leave her for being vulnerable at times.
cold gf!yooyeon who also is terrible at comforting but tries her best. she may not be good with her words when you're upset, but she's doing everything else in her power to make you feel better. she's ordering food, she's putting on a movie and laying down with you, she's cuddling you when she generally hates physical affection. she'll ask how you feel every half an hour, wanting to make sure you feel okay before she leaves or you go to sleep.

Overindulging (EmmRook short fic)
Summary: Emmrich gets upset because he put on a little weight. Rook is here to reassure him.
The first part is mostly sfw, I signaled the moment we switch to a more heated (E-rated) exchange, please mind it.
Part of my EmmRook post game (so may contain spoilers) short-fics found here on AO3 (or on my blog with the Emmrich x Rook tag).
Rook was absentmindedly getting dressed when a very highpitched, scandalized noise startled her. It wasn’t coming from veyr far away, and she only needed to turn around to find Emmrich staring intently at his midsection, his fingers frozen over the buttons of the waistcoat he was fastening. It was his favourite one, the green one with the golden buttons.
« Darling » He called out to her, distress clear in his voice. He looked up to meet her eyes, sadness mixed with frustration in his warm brown gaze. « It doesn’t fit anymore » He stated, and indeed, Rook could see the first two buttons were fastened but the effort of it was dangerously straining the fabric. As for the last one, it would be impossible to fasten without tearing the lovely piece of clothing and ruining it.
« Well I suppose you’ll have to wear another one » Rook offered with an apologetic smile. She was ever the optimistic one of the two.
Emmrich sighed in defeat, undoing the hardly fastened buttons in a smooth gesture. However right it was, his lover’s proposition, and the implications behind his failure at getting dressed didn’t sit well with the watcher.
« I knew I had gained a little weight, there are always ups and downs in a year. But I’ve owned this waistcoat for decades and it always fit » He complained, pained and irritated. « Now I’ll have to get my entire wardrobe mended and ajusted... »
Rook stepped closer to her lover and placed a tender hand on his elbow to try and pull him out of the spiral of negativity he was losing himself into.
His slight increase in waist circumference wasn’t a surprise, for they had probably overindulged in the last months when it came to food. Emmrich took a sabbatical so they could undertake a journey around Thedas to reconnect with their former companions of the Veilguard, and check on the reconstruction of the cities destroyed by the Blight.
Those long weeks turned months had been a wonderful succession of heartwarming reunions, all of which of course around generous amounts of food and drinks. Rook and Emmrich had been delighted to discuss with their friends while sharing large meals made of the most delicious dishes, whether grilled, or fried, or covered in rich sauces, as well as around tea-times assorted with the softest buttery and flaky pastry. And not to forget the syrupy wines and bittersweet cocktail. Emmrich wasn’t known for his gluttony, but he still really enjoyed a good meal, as well as the cultural enlightment of discovering local dishes. On the way home, he kept reminiscing the taste of the famous llomerryn red sauce from Rivain or the Gnocchi from Antiva.
Pair that with a hectic schedule preventing them from exercising as they usually did, and you got a few more pounds.
It was nothing too serious. Rook herself had gained a little chub around the thighs and waist, but she understood Emmrich’s concerns. He liked to look clean and sharp, and had a strong taste for elegant fashion. All his clothes were also tailor-made and cost a pretty penny, which was an investment he made for the long run. He took very good care of his belongings and she could see why it would upset him to be forced to have them remade.
Rook gently squeezed Emmrich’s elbow. “I’m sure there is no need to come to that yet. A little more exercise and lighter meals should do the trick. You’ll be back in shape in no time”
She tried to reassure him, but Emmrich wasn’t having any of it. He placed a hand over his stomach and squeezed the fat there though the fabric of his expensive white shirt, then clicked his tongue. “I fear it won’t be that simple. Each year staying fit becomes more and more challenging. I’m getting limp and my skin will only keep sagging until I all wrinkled and flaccid. I’ll gradually wilt before your very eyes darling, this is only the start”
Oh.
So that’s what this was about.
Emmrich had partially made peace with his mortality when he brought back Manfred, and he had accepted that Rook loved him and wanted to be with him on the long run despite their difference in age. However his fears and insecurities resurfaced from time to time.
Rook’s heart sank in her chest and she pressed herself against her lover, circling her amrs around his waist, hoping her presence would comfort him better than words would. From experience, she kew that when he was in this state, there was no reasoning with him; no appealing to his usual logic. The last thing she wanted was to get into a fight because of such a trivial problem. Well, trivial to her. They already did fight several times because she brushed off his heartfelt concerns too casually and now she knew better than to lose her temper over this.
Emmrich grew silent, and soon, he hugged Rook back, the palms of his hands pressing against her back.
They stayed in this embrace for a while, Rook listening to his heart while he breathed in the familiar smell of her hair.
“You know I’ll always love you” Rook promised against his chest, and she heard his resulting deep, shaky exhale close to her ear.
“I know darling” He sighed. “It is not my intention to question that… but sometimes it feels surreal” he kissed her temple before he continued. “And sometimes I cannot help but regret that we didn’t meet sooner, or that I wasn’t born later”
Rook looked up to meet his misty gaze, a bittersweet smile on her face. “I understand that sentiment. But I believe things were meant to be this way. I am glad we even got to meet each other. And survived to enjoy the rest”
“Of course, you are absolutely right dearest. I wouldn’t have it any other way” Emmrich caressed her cheek, craddling it in his warm palm. “But the human heart can be weak, and mine is particularly prone to that kind of longing”
Rook nuzzled into his touch “That’s part of why I love you” She stood on her tiptoes, and whispered against his lips “I never hoped to meet such a romantic soul”
She kissed him then, soft and gentle, and he reverently kissed back, both of his hands holding her face like a precious treasure he feared would escape him.
When they pulled back, Rook let the hand that was pressed to his chest travel to his navel. She eyed his reaction carefully, assessing his consent, checking that her touch on the part of him he criticized was still welcomed.
Emmrich didn’t protest, but the attention made him shy, still a bit self conscious, and he distracted himself by replacing a stray lock of hair behind Rook’s ear.
“You are still the most dashing necromancer around you know” Rook said, her usual bright tone returning to her. “And you won’t be alone in your effort. I’ll help. I have a few pounds to lose too”
Emmrich let out an incredulous huff. “Darling there is no need for you to do that. You are simply perfect. Marvelously beautiful as always”
Rook raised an accusing eyebrow and gave him a chastising look which silenced him immediately. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black.
Rook splayed her fingers moree firmly over Emmrich’s lower stomach. “You know, I’m thinking of a pleasant way of exercising…” She whispered wickedly as her hand traveled lower. “I’m sure it burns a lot of fat”
She pressed her palm against Emmrich’s crotch and he let out a small breathy moan.
“Darling, we were just getting dressed” He protested, but only for the principle of it, his voice lacking any resolve.
Rook hummed “But since you were dissatisfied with your clothes, I think it’s better if you don’t wear them at all”
And so Emmrich was quickly convinced to indulge in a different kind of pleasure.
E-RATING STARTING HERE
After a few heated kisses, and unbutonning his shirt, Rook swiftly fell to her knees in front of Emmrich. Without hesitation, she untucked his crisp shirt from his flannel pants first. Her hand deliberatelly brushed his clothed growing erection before she set on undoing the buttons of his trousers.
“Darling” Emmrich tried to grab her attention and she hummed in response but didn’t stop. “As much as I enjoy the view and the promise of your attention, I fail to see how this counts as exercising on my part”
Rook gave his still clothed erection a gentle kiss through the fabric of his underwear. “Consider it a warm up” She hummed “And a way to show you how much I adore every part of you”
Emmrich let out a languid sigh. His fingers moved to brush against her cheek, and played with the hair there while she pulled his pants and underwear enough to find the most sensitive part of him. “Whatever pleases you my dear” He breathed in that lower voice that was reserved just for her; just for these moments shared between them in intimacy. He always ended up indulging her.
Rook took him in one hand, and splayed the fingers of the other over Emmrich’s stomach. She started stroking him to full hardness, while reverantly exploring the dip of his waist, and the more recent softeness of his belly, where a trail of dark hair led to his growing desire. She loved to touch him. Emmrich was a generous lover and was always the one to insist on how gorgeous she was and to focus on making sure of her pleasure. She desperately wanted to reciprocate the favour. Besides, she knew from experience that for all his composure and restreint, a teasing from the mouth should rile him up enough that he would then be most enclined to bend her over any avalaible surface and take her most ardently.
Emmrich’s self consciousness over his stomach became the last of his concerns when she stopped stroking him and started leaving opened mouth kisses on the length of him. He gasped and moaned when she proceeded to take him between her sinful lips, caressing the part that she couldn’t fit in yet between a few fingers.
Rook moaned around him when she felt his hand carefully grab the back of her head, holding ontop her hair without pressure to ground himself and help guide her. She increased the pace of her ministrations as Emmrich’s voice joined the lewd wet noises she was making. True to himself, he kept praising her, complimenting her skills, singing praises of her beauty as she worshipped him with her mouth.
This was incredibly pleasant, but not quite what she had in mind. She pulled away to catch her breath, lazily stroking him instead, the glide made easy from her saliva and his excitement. Her other hand cupped his balls, her heel pressing into his perineum until he was left breathless and flustered. She then moved to squeeze his naked bottom, a part of him that she enjoyed very much indeed. The number of times she was distracted by that ass back in the lighthouse she couldn’t count on the fingers of two hands.
Now that she had rendered Emmrich silent but for ragged whimpers, it was her turn to talk.
“My heart, you focus on the front of your body because that is the first thing you see. But know that the sight of your backside would make anyone both jealous and enticed” She murmured before giving his tip a quick suck, earning a strangled “Darling” from him.
She squeezed his bottom again for good mesure, giving it a small swat as if to make her point “I have seen the way people look at it. Makes me want to burn their eyes in their sockets”
“Darling,I’m sure that’s no-” Emmrich tried to say between heavy pants but interrupted himself, completely losing his train of thoughts when Rook took him into her mouth again, as deep as possible.
Rook smiled around him, prood that she rendered him silent. She used her now both free hands to grab at his backside firmly, using her hold as leverage to try and take him even deeper with each bob of her head.
Emmrich’s hand tightened in her hair, and she moaned delightfully in tune to her lover’s half hearted and whimpered pleas for her to slow down. She could tell that Emmrich was using the last threads of his self control not to thrust into her throat at his own rythm. His thighs were clenching, his knees buckling, she could tell he was losing it.
He was close. But this was far from over yet.
After a wicked swirl of her tongue around him, Rook pulled back, earning a distraught whine from her lover.
She barely wipped her mouth before she got up and proceeded to quickly take off her clothes. Emmrich’s gaze followed the reveal of her bare skin with a distinct hunger. For a second she had rendered him lost as what to do with himself. He stood before her, painfully hard and half dressed, panting and flushed. He looked ravishing; and she wouldn’t give him the leisure of regaining the composure she worked so hard to break.
Rook quickly stepped back into his arms, pressing her naked form flush against his body.
“I think you’ve warmed up enough” She said against his lips, her hand caressing his chest where his shirt was opened. He tried to follow after her lips but she pulled away, instead hiking one leg up his hip. Emmrich’s scattered brain had mere seconds to gather what was expected of him before Rook jumped into his arms, wrapping her beautiful legs around his narrow waist. Emmrich caught her of course, his hands coming to support her backside while she anchored her arms behind his neck.
“Now it is your turn to do all the work” Rook teased, but Emmrich complied.
“Gladly” He breathed before he crashed his lips into Rook’s, his usual finesse lost in the turmoil of his desire.
Rook’s shorter and lighter figure was easy to carry for Emmrich, who possessed more muscles than would be expected of a scholar. In his endevour to age as well as possible, he had adopted a healthy lifestyle consisting of a balanced diet and a lot of exercise. The watcher valued physical form as much as a keen intellect. To fight the rebellious undead of the Necropolis, one needed to stay in shape. Also, Rook learned when they met that necromancers from Nevarra enjoyed friendly tornaments of battle magic and took pride in winning them if possible. Emmrich had his pride, and trained so he would easily prevail if a student or colleague dared challenge him.
Rook remembered feeling both surprised and weirdly aroused the first time Emmrich twisted the limbs of a Venatori cultist with a florish of his wrist, and then proceeded to send him flying with a powerful strike of his heavy staff. To think she first considered him a delicate scholar when they met, and even hesitated bringing him to the field. How wrong she had been, and how she then had put that strength to good use.
Rook wasn’t too heavy, but to perform the activities they had fallen into, they needed more stability. While he kept kissing his lover, Emmrich walked to the nearest wall and proceeded to carefully press Rook’s back against it. The support the wall offered allowed him to free one of his hands. He held Rook around the waist with one arm, and while his lips went down to explore the delicious column of her neck, his free hand traced a path from her clavicle to her breast, where he focused his attention. He squeezed and pressed just the way she liked, without forgetting to give attention to her already erected nipple. Rook’s head fell back into the wall as an abandonned moan escaped her lips when his mouth replaced his fingers on her chest. In an impressive exercise of multi-tasking and balance, Emmrich’s hand travelled lower, testing the state of arousal of his lover. She could see the bicep of the arm holding her tensing under the strain of her weight, pulling the fabric of his shirt tight. That sight only could have made her ready for him.
To only Emmrich’s surprise, Rook was soaking wet already. He collected some moisture on his index finger still, and proceeded to pet her clit for good mesure. Rook closed her eyes under his expert ministrations, but she shook her head when he started teasing her folds and her entrance.
“Please my heart, I need you now”
To think she planned on being the patient one today. Emmrich’s lips traveled back to her neck, then cheek, and stopped to kiss and nip at her sensitive ear.
“Who am to deny you when you find yourself in such distress dearest” He purred, low and assertive before he blew on her wet and tender ear, making her gasp and shamelessly grind against his erection.
Rook admired the display of Emmrich’s strength as he repositionned her to align her center with his aching need. She was vulnerable and opened, her legs brought up against the inside of his elbow, her ankles thrown over his shoulders and her weight supported by both the wall and Emmrich’s long fingers grabbing her hip dips, her lower back mostly fitting into his large palms.
He entered her slowly, making sure she was comfortable. The sight was delightfully exciting: Emmrich still half dressed taking her naked form, the muscles of his broad shoulders and of his arms flexing to hold her in place as he penetrated her.
A first tentative thrust and then Emmrich pressed flush against Rook, bending her in half and trapping her against the wall while his cock caressed her insides. She felt impossibly full and deliciously stretched, forced to take him without moving; losing the ability to form a coherent sentence from the raw pleasure of it all.
Rook’s moans were loud and unrestrained as Emmrich took her against the wall, deep and slow. Even when pent up, he still was one to make groundbreaking love and not copulate like animals. He did slip a few times however, thrusting harder as he lost a bit of control the more Rook tightened and gushed around him.
Tears wet her eyelashes from how good it all felt, the sensations heightened by the praises Emmrich’s velvet tongue kept drowning her in. He breathily told her about the marvelous display she offered, akin to a nymph straight from an Orlesian painting; a perfect portrayal of a godess of pleasure and lushness. He fed her poetry as sweet as honey while ravishing her with impossibly accurate assaults of her most sensitive places, reaching impossibly deep in this position.
Rook left herself get lost in the pleasure he offered, and soon, as he told her he would hold her like this forever, make love to her endlessly, she choked on trying to tell him how much she loved him, whimpering instead while clenching down on him like a vice, coming around him in a raw display of bliss, tears of ecstasy rolling down her cheeks.
Gradually, Emmrich slowed down until his hips came to a stop. He reclined a little and pressed a few amourous kisses on Rook’s wet cheeks.
Rook’s chest was still rising and falling rapidly when she regained the ability the think properly. Her previously hazy eyes found Emmrich’s warm brown ones.
“I love you” She whispered in a laboured breath as if it was the most important and fitting conclusion to this exchange.
Emmrich chuckled, amused and proud of himself for rendering Rook almost speechless “I love you too dearest”
He released her trembling legs so she could get them around his waist again. She hugged him tight while he held her by two hands under her backside, gently rocking her until she regained her footing.
After a while, Rook perked up, blinking away the haze in her mind only to realize something. She looked between them, where he was still hard against her. “You didn’t-” She started, looking to Emmrich. “What about you?” She asked, dejected. She wanted this to be about him and it ended up being about her again.
Emmrich’s chuckle was low and pleasing to her ears. “I believe I ought to prolonge the effort for the exercise to truly be efficient on burning calories.” He said, a mysterious smile on his thin lips. “A ratio of three to one should suffice for today don’t you think?”
Rook blinked owlishly. She had no clue what he was talking about.
Emmrich let her think about it, amused by her airheaded state. He took a step back, then turned and walked to their bed where he carefully dropped Rook on her backside on the silken covers.
“What ratio are we talking about?” Rook asked as Emmrich caught her leg by the ankle and brought it to his lips for a tender kiss to her malleolus.
“Orgasms of course darling. One for me after three for you” Emmrich replied like it was the most obvious of things. His assertive brown gaze pinned Rook down, making her feel like a meal on display. “If you’d be kind enough to help me keep on exercising of course” He added lowly, in that tone that made her wet without being touched.
Rook inhaled sharply, feeling herself ready to go again. She couldn’t possibly refuse such an offer.
“Well, I did say I’d help…”

Eat up, yall starving lunatics. More Papatarion for the books since yall feel kinda tender for this man <33
Summary: Mortarion's approach to fatherhood 2.0
Pairing: Mortarion x Reader (Female)
CW: Mentions of pregnancy
Tumblr media
Little and Precious (Part 2)
Mortarion wasn’t a fan of going through every little report that needed to be addressed by him after any sort of deployment from the Legion. It seemed too meaningless in comparison to other tasks that needed most of his attention.
So far, it was a drag having to oversee the next resupply of the dreadnoughts even when his gene-sons could go for long periods of time without needed them, but neglecting his duties could lead to terrible consequences he rather not have to contemplate when the ones in the line were you and his daughter.
The fact that you had understood and even tried to help on the workload made Mortarion wheeze in amazement because how had he managed to find someone like you in this wretched universe?
You’ll be the end of him.
While overseeing one of the many dataslates on his desk, the Primarch heard the door opening and closing just as fast. A light shuffling approached behind him, but Mortarion pretended to not see or hear anything and kept himself occupied while a twitch graced his scarred lips in an attempt to hide a playful smile.
There was a breathy giggle and immediately the partial silence of the room came back as if nothing happened.
When Mortarion looked at the pile of dataslates on his right, he noticed a freshly cut yellow flower above them. It was very innocuous in nature and contrasting in a manner that made the Pale King blink a few times in bewilderment.
He still found surprising how silent and fast his girl could be when she wished to.
The Primarch then heard the shuffling again to his left and right there on his desk rested a pile of hard candies of different flavors.
“Hmm… It seems a spy has entered my private chambers” he said with a serious tone despite the gentle smile on his face. “Where would they have gone?”
Mortarion made a show to ignore the giggling behind his chair and simply checked under the desk to left and right, his smile only widening at the sound of snickering when he sillily checked under the dataslates to keep the play.
The mighty Primarch can only imagine how much his Legion would be both confused and perplexed at his behavior, but the demigod had spent enough time with you and his daughter to start understanding the soft edges he could possess too with his family.
The sweet silliness that accompanied the toddler’s laughter made any sense of shame or aggravation be forgotten at the sight of happiness from the girl. What would have been a slight towards his person, now it made something tender spread over his ribcage.
Of course he always made sure not to make a fool of himself in public, but no one was blind to the gentleness Mortarion displayed towards the little lady of the Death Guard Legion.
It was a good thing his daughter had the same approachable and warm disposition that her mother possessed, as she had managed to have pretty much any astartes graped around her little fingers without realizing.
The Pale King hummed, tapping patiently on his desk until his precious girl let her guard down and swiftly scooped the toddler with his two hands under her armpits, all while she shrieked in laughter.
His little girl always loved to be raised in her father’s arms.
Mortarion went ahead and sat himself along the child on his lap, grabbing the yellow flower over the dataslate and settling it behind his daughter’s ear to decorate her hair.
“I thought you were with your mother, my little bud” he extended one of the hard candies to the toddler, who sheepishly accepted the offer while swinging her little legs.
“Mama got tired and went to sleep” she explained idly in that sweet tone of hers, but Mortarion noticed some dejection too. “I just feel a bit sad that mama can’t play with me like before because of my little sister being in her belly…”
Ah, so that’s why his precious lady had wandered here.
The second pregnancy had been a huge and scary surprise just like the first time, as you two and some apothecaries had believed that the first one had been nothing short of a miracle.
Mortarion wouldn't say that he felt disappointed at the result, but he could see now what other effects were starting to have an impact on his little girl in a terrible manner. Your due date was just a month away and rest had become nothing short of obligatory at this point, so he understood where the frustrations of his daughter seemed to arise from.
This was the kind of stuff you would usually be dealing with, as the Primarch still had a hard time understanding a proper approach to the simple concerns a small 4 year old would have.
He was the imposing and protective father while you managed the complexities of baseline human feelings his little flower may experience.
This was a territory he never expected to cross.
“Well… my little bud… I know right now it’s hard since it's only been you around us… but once your little sister is born, you know who else she will need to guide her and protect her?”
She looked expectant at the answer. Big childish eyes drinking every word from him.
“It will be you. When your Mother or I can’t be around, your little sister will be counting on you to take care of her… at least, until he grows and can protect herself”
The once dejected look on her face regained a new light of understanding. Little fist balling the beautiful fabric of her purple dress while looking now at him with one can only describe as unshakable determination that made something inside Mortarion choke a bit.
“Then I’ll be the best big sister ever! I’ll help mama and-and I’ll help you too papa, then…!”
His precious daughter seemed to have gotten quite the fire on her rambling now. Going on and on about the things she wished to do once the baby was born and even making plans at which of her favorites astartes will be allowed to help protect her future younger sibling.
Never in his wildest dreams, Mortarion believed he’ll be granted such wonderful moments.

Under the Liverpool Stars~Trent Alexander Arnold
Tumblr media
It was a cool evening in Liverpool. The streetlights reflected off the wet pavement, creating a magical atmosphere. You were sitting in a cozy bar, lost in your thoughts, reading a book while sipping a warm cup of tea, when a deep, slightly hesitant voice pulled you from your reverie.
"Excuse me... is this seat taken?"
You looked up and found yourself face to face with Trent Alexander-Arnold. For a moment, you were taken aback, but quickly composed yourself.
"Oh, no, it's free. Please, go ahead."
He smiled, placed his coffee on the table, and sat down. He seemed relaxed, wearing a casual coat and a beanie that tried to hide his identity, but it didn't quite work. After a brief silence, he noticed your book.
"You're reading Pride and Prejudice? It's one of my sister's favorites. She always tells me I should read it, but I’ve never gotten around to it."
"Really? It’s a classic. Maybe you should listen to her, she has excellent taste."
He laughed, a warm, genuine sound that seemed to fill the space around you.
"You might convince me to read it... if you give me a good reason."
You tilted your head, studying him. "Well, if you like a good love story with sharp dialogue and complex characters, this is perfect. But what kind of books do you usually read?"
He scratched his head, a little embarrassed. "Honestly, I don’t read much. I spend most of my time training or playing. But I like stories that teach me something. Like biographies or self-help books."
The conversation flowed naturally, and Trent was curious, kind, and surprisingly humble. He didn’t talk much about football unless you brought it up, and he seemed more interested in learning about you—what you liked to do, your dreams, your hobbies.
After an hour, he said, "You know, I wasn’t expecting to have such a nice conversation tonight. It’s rare to meet someone to talk to so... authentically."
You smiled, a little shy. "It’s been nice for me too. It’s not every day you meet a... famous footballer in an ordinary bar."
He laughed again, but his tone grew more serious. "Listen, can I ask you something? Would you like to meet again? Maybe next time I could take you to a special place. Not just any bar."
Your heart skipped a beat. You weren’t sure what to expect from this meeting, but there was something about him that made you feel at ease.
"I’d like that."
---
Weeks passed, and you and Trent began to see each other regularly. He took you to beautiful spots around Liverpool, introduced you to some of his friends, and even brought you into his family circle, where they welcomed you warmly. One evening, as you walked along the Mersey, he stopped and looked at you with an intensity that made your breath catch.
"You know, since I met you, everything feels different. Football has always been my life, but with you... it’s like there’s more. Something bigger."
He took your hand, his touch warm against the cool breeze.
"I don’t know what you think, but I want to see where this takes us. I really want you to be part of my life."
Your heart melted. Looking into his eyes, you found nothing but sincerity and affection.
"I want that too, Trent. I want to be here, with you."
And so, under the stars of Liverpool, your love story began to take shape—a unique combination of two different worlds that had crossed paths by chance but were destined to intertwine.

The Marauders-Love Languages
AN: excited for my first bit of writing to be up! forgot to mention but I'm an english major so this is also just good practice for me anyways (and an opportunity to be lax with my grammar, shh, don't tell my professor!). the valkyries version of this should be up soon, probably tomorrow as it's 1 a.m. and I've lost steam lol. hope you all enjoy!
-starly ☆
Remus J. Lupin
Quality time.
Moony loves to curl up with a good book and his lover nearby. His idea of heaven is silently doing his revision in an armchair in the common room while his friends run about causing utter mayhem.
“Oi, James give it back!”
“Catch me if you can, Evans!”
James runs from Lily, book in hand as she chases after him trying to get her belongings. Meanwhile Sirius and Peter are sprawled out on the floor scratching their heads at arithmancy.
“Pete are you sure that's right?”
“Er, no actually, I’m not…”
Marlene and Mary sit on the couch holding hands and giggling to each other.
“Marls! Are you serious?”
Marlene raises her right hand and places it over her heart.
“Yeah, swear on m'life.”
Remus relaxes into the armchair, smiling contently to himself as you approach, sitting on the arm of the chair. He wraps his arm around your waist, nuzzling his face into your side as he sighs contently.
"You okay Moony?"
"Just fine lovely, just fine."
Peter J. Pettigrew
Physical touch.
Wormtail loves to shift down to rat size and doze off in his lover's pocket. He doesn't mind staying normal size either, after all, it's quite hard to hold someone as a rat.
Peter sighs gently as you lie on his chest.
“Alright, dearest?”
You sit upright to make eye contact with him.
“All good. How long d'you think we have before the boys come back?”
“Hopefully a long, long, ti-”
“SIRIUS ORION BLACK NEXT TIME YOU KNOCK ME OFF MY BROOM-”
You jump up suddenly from Peter as the door swings open and a blur of black hair comes speeding in.
“IT WAS AN ACCIDENT MATE!”
Sirius O. Black
Words of affirmation.
After years of being degraded by Waburga Black, Padfoot loves nothing more than a good bit of praise. Confirmation that he can do something right, that he does, something right, goes a long way for him.
“Come on love, try it again.”
Sirius groans, dropping his head down onto the mattress.
“I'm telling you, I can't do it. I've tried over and over and it just doesn't bloody work!”
You grab Sirius’ hands, looking deeply into his eyes.
“Pads, you can do it. I know it's a hard spell but just concentrate, breathe. You're so incredibly smart, you could be head of our year if you pulled a few less pranks per week. I know you can do it.”
Sirius’ eyes soften and he relaxes a bit, taking a deep breath, and murmuring the incantation. His magic feels electric as it courses through the air. As the spell ends you look to see he’s smiling brightly. Sirius drops his wand, tackling you onto the bed in a fit of giggles.
“You’re bloody brilliant!”
“Me? You’re the one doing the advanced magic!”
“Yeah, but I couldn’t have done it without you. You’re my muse, I think.”
“I better be.”
James F. Potter
Physical touch.
Prongs doesn’t know any other way to live. Won a quidditch game? Arms immediately thrown round you. Aced an exam? Lifts you up and spins you around. Successful prank? He may as well have tackled you.
James’ breath tickled the back of your neck as you stood front-to-back underneath the invisibility cloak. James had found a sticking charm to cast on the floor, while Remus and Sirius crawled off to the dungeons to lure the slytherins out. You however, had done the most important part, levitating buckets of sludge collected from the bottom of the lake. Holding onto the spell was a bit taxing, but it would all be worth it.
“You got it darling?”
You shifted on your heels a bit.
“Yeah, just a bit tired.”
“D’you want me to hold the buckets?
“No no it’s alright, I don’t know the sticking charm anyways.
“Hopefully the lads don’t take much longer, I-”
Suddenly loud footsteps came bounding down the hallway, and Remus and Sirius came flying around the corner.
“Now James!”
James cast the sticking charm and up ahead, Snape, Barty, and Regulus could no longer move. James steps from beneath the cloak, pulling it off of you as well and laughing loudly.
“Alright Prongs,” Sirius laughed boisterously, “Got the spell down just right.”
“Better bloody have, took me ages. Love? Ready?”
You grinned wickedly.
“Ready.”
You finally relax as the buckets tip, spilling out their content onto the floor, and slowly floating to the ground. Snape, Barty, and Regulus are completely covered in the sludge, and now stuck to the ground and unable to run.
James throws his arms around you, swaying widely, and a feeling of overwhelming warmth and love spreads through you
“Merlin’s beard! My brilliant partner does it again!”
You laughed, trying to shrug James off.
“Get off me you lousy git!”
Remus is stood nearby, leaning on Sirius as they smile at you and James, and the three boys trapped in the hall scowled fiercely.
“Sirius I swear I’ll tell mother if you don’t remove this charm right now!”
The black haired boy probably would have stood in the hallway all night laughing forever if Remus hadn’t begun to drag him away. Another one for the books you thought, as Prongs slung an arm around your shoulder, holding you close as you snuck off to your next bout of mischief

Lightning in a Bottle(Adler x Bell!Reader)(Oneshot)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Word Count: 2k Summary: A one in a million chance. Impossible.
But Bell always was a chance, weren't you? Just like Adler always was confident in his odds. Warnings: Mature Rating/Graphic Violence, Dark Themes, Torture, Brainwashing, Manipulation, Toxic Relationship, Trauma, Female!Reader Bell, Adler x Bell, Crack Treated Seriously, Solovetsky Ending. A/N: Don't treat this fic seriously. You might get dissapointed. This is literally crack at the start which turns serious. Me and @makeyourpeacenow were just fooling around and she inspired me to write this thing out as we chatted. Less tumblr meme format and RPG style and more actual story. She added a paragraph in here that I kept.
The afternoon sun did nothing for the chill that hung in the air, the crispness only adding into the classic Russian cold. The waves hitting against the cliff side in the distance where you’re sure they were doing the same on the cliff they were on, as the flowers and long grass moving with the cool breeze.
It was beautiful.
Beautifully tainted as your hand made quick work of releasing from your holster just as Adler did, both pulling the trigger and the sound of twin guns breaking the calm atmosphere. Broken just as Adler did to you, your heart torn and anger boarding in your veins still hot from the betrayal.
Clang!
The sound rung in your ears more than the bullet being released from the gun, a brief spark in the air. A violent flash that went in the next blink before a bullet ricocheted to the rock to your left while the other dug deep into the ground by the flowers that were just innocently moving along—petals torn from the speed of the bullet.
Your eyes were wide, mouth parted as you stared at the area where the bullet hit the rock, your grip on your pistol a tad loose although still up and ready. Adler in your peripherals sharing his own silent disbelief at what just occurred, gun still raised as well but head facing towards the torn flowers.
The air of heavy silence broke when you finally blinked your shock away, jerking your head towards Adler who continued to stare down at the bullets with a pressed frown.
“You just tried to kill me!” You accuse, gun gesturing wildly at the bullets on the ground while also motioning towards him.
Adler finally lifted his eyes, throwing you a blank stare. “That makes two of us,” he said blandly. He gave you a gave you a once over before stupefyingly deciding you were no threat for he took a cigarette out of his tactical vest and lighting it while managing to keep a grip on his pistol. You could only stare in bafflement as he took a lazy drag,  giving a subtle nod of his head towards you. The one you always were desperate for before. “Say…you’ve been a good team mate, Bell. Take this as a sign. Second chance.”
“Are you…are you seriously not gonna talk about this?!” Your voice pitched higher at the end, completely bewildered.
Adler’s nonchalance was not something that bothered you before. You were actually thankfully for it and even a hint amused by it when he told Hudson he would be taking you and only you to Lubyanka. You remember his cool praise about you towards Hudson, how it created a warmth in your cheeks and feeling light momentarily before Hudson went off in a huff. Adler giving you directly words of comfort, speaking of Hudson not liking things in his control.
Adler was just mocking you. You were in the palm of his hand all along, accepting treats from said hand with casual pats to the head.
You feel like you might hurl. Or cry.
“Hm?” Adler took a hefty drag, his gaze not leaving your form. It made you shift your legs, swallowing dryly. "Something on your mind, soldier?"
His words dripped with smoke, going purposely in your direction and hurrying it along by blowing the rest.
Your jaw tightened, glaring. You waved the smoke away before moving forward, Adler tensing but not making any move as you just snatched his cigarette from his silver tongued mouth and throwing it over the cliff. Adler turning his head with only a quick press of the lips to show his displeasure at your waste. As if he didn’t prompt you to feel your wrath in the first place. It only made your blood boil further.
“You just tried to kill me and now you’re what? ‘Giving me a second chance?’ You can’t be this crazy! Cause you have to know, this—“ You wave your pistoled arm around the area with the bullets back and forth from your chest to his, even poking him with the barrel of your gun. “—is crazy!”
You knew he had some issues. Your “shared” past and all, you saw things from his past maybe you shouldn’t have. He cut off a piece of his mind, forcing the piece to fit into yours with brute force—all blood and brain matter and pokes of needles. Your fault for thinking you were special knowing him so well and intimately, knowing his way of thinking and plans before he even finished the sentence. Your mind clicking away at the possible scenarios he would suggest before zooming into one and stating it out loud. He always paused when you did that, assessing you before there it was—the reward, the ghost of a smirk before nodding at you with the words “Exactly my line of thinking.” or “A bit of a mind reader, are we, Bell?” or “And that’s why you’re my protege. Good job, Bell.”
It’s not fair, you want to cry out, clenching your grip around the pistol still to his chest yet your fingers off the trigger. Your throat feeling tight as you gazed up at the man who only rose a brow at you. It’s not fair!
“So you want me to kill you?” Adler moved your pistol hand away, you letting him as you looked down with a defeated scowl. Your hold on your pistol obsolete. Your eyes tightened at that fact. You notice Adler kept his own pistol loose by his side. All it would take is one quick movement and you’ll be dead. Truly this time. Luck can’t save you like this. You’re closer to the cliff’s edge, maybe your body will fall into the waters below. Forever separate from him. Your stomach coiled back at the image. “What is it, Bell? What do you actually want?”
You can’t say. It gets stuck in your throat.
You can’t say and you hate you still have it. This wretched feelings. Even after a deadly shot towards your chest. Even after his gall and apathetic nature to what just occurred(despite him still calling you soldier. “You’re still one of us.” Even now when you tried to kill him yourself, ignoring your own hypocrisy.) Your chest still bleeds only for one. You think only ever one.
It’ll only be the one because you’ve been ruined. Forever. Your trust dismantled for another yet still hopelessly, despairingly wishing to actually think you might have a chance. Even after this.
With him. You’ve been ruined for others. And the worst thing is, you’re actually fine if he is the one that’ll keep ruining you. This vicious cycle. You shot at him yes. But he had the gall to save you in Trabzon and make you think you’re close and something more. Not quite lovers. Not quite friends. Something in between.
He had the gall to make you feel this, your loyalties switched at the flip of a coin—you’re the tails he’s the head.
A coin. He had the gall to make you his other half. The tails. And he tried to kill you. And now he’s saving you. Because of…chance?
Take it, begrudgingly. Argue the matter, even if it's a nonsensical position. Argue because you want to argue—because you need to yell. Even if your feelings on it are oxymoronic. How can you hate him so much, yet refuse to part from him. Your stomach churned at the mere thought of your dead corpse even being away from his live one.
Fate? Bullets together? Is that what this is? Is he saving you to stick by him or to throw away and be by yourself? You don’t think you could be without him. Too tied together. You know his deepest secrets from Vietnam and he knows your mind. You’ve played in each other’s mind palaces, hands digging and blood spilling and bones crunching, napalm strikes on bodies—you’re tied.
You stay silent too long, biting at the inside of your lips before forcing yourself to look up at him meaningfully—eyes meeting for you can see them behind his shades at this distance, the sun helping you. Adler tilting his head and something passes over his gaze but you lower your head again and scoff, putting your pistol back in its holster begrudgingly.
“You’re stuck with me, then. Hope this is worth it.”
You notice the exhaustion set in his soul, the weight he bears. He carries it, alone, and you have no pity to offer.
You feel his weighted gaze just like you sense his exhaustion, putting his own pistol carefully away. Cautious if you will change your mind and decide to tear out his neck like he tore at your heart. You don’t.
Tied, your mind repeats. For better or for worse.
Like a twisted marriage.
You don’t look until your eyes widen when you feel the familiar touch of a hand on your head.
“Come on, kid. You know we’re stuck with each other. You’ve always been a slippery little thing,” his hand shifts and it’s on your cheek, feeling the leather as your eyes take in the quirk of his scarred mouth. What you always hunger for—the uptick to suggest a smile  “But not with me. I have you, Bell. I have you.”
You’re so easy.
You fall so prettily for him.
You hate it. You love him.
You hate that too.
So it’s no surprise you let out a breathy sigh when he thumbs your lips and say an “Okay.”
He’s like a snake wrangler, you've got venom; you bare your teeth but you'll never bite—never him.
Always for others. He just has to point. He can be America’s Monster.
But you? You can be Adler’s Dog.
You can accept that. You can accept the little touches and mindful quips of philosophy and books—even if you burn more at his touch then the danger close you experienced a mere half an hour ago—you can live with it. You can.
That’s your mantra in your head. Even as you stare up at him longingly, adoringly—a little lost yet accepting of whatever he says and does as he seems to look into you—that’s what you keep thinking.
You’re fine with this.
Be the tool. You can be that again for him. Willingly this time. He doesn’t have to love you like you do him. He doesn’t.
Even if you know him as equal or better than Sims. Even if you know the man behind the Vietnam soldier—behind the brave face. Behind the mask he’s made(the mask wasn’t supposed to be for you). Even with knowing where his mind goes and tracks, you’re satisfied with this.
You have to be. After all, nothing was personal. Those conversations outside the safehouse, the roof, the elevator of Lubyanka( “I need Bell”), defense against Hudson, the camera—
You don’t expect—
A tilt of the chin with firm fingers and a touch to the lips. You can feel his face on yours.
Your pupils are blown and your hands are still just as your mind has stopped. He didn’t seem to mind, a tease of your mouth and that’s all it takes for you open for him. Ready. Just a touch. A hint.
That’s all you need. Adler always gets what he wants. You’ll give it to him.
You grab at him, the back of his neck and feel that hair underneath his beanie. Uncaring if it falls to the floor. You’re embarrassed at the pitiful sound you made when he pulled away. Only to silence when he taps his forehead to yours, hands on your waist with a comforting squeeze.
You can see his eyes. That electric blue.
“I have you, Bell,” he repeats, his breath tickling your face with that light smirk that unmakes you.
You blink. You assess, even with cheeks hot.
You hold back the cheek splitting smile for a more mild hopeful one.
“Okay,” you breathe.
▚
A/N: Adler knows how to manipulate Bell perfectly well. Poor Bell. She knows how easy she is too. They're both satisfied where they're at. Sucks.

Chapter 9
The past week had been the most intense week that you’ve had in a while. The Bears had not only secured their home semifinal but they had won it too. The only downside was that the LA Lions had won their semifinal which meant they would be facing one another once again. On the bright side, the Bears finished 2nd in the league, while the Lions finished 4th meaning the final would be played here in Boston.
The play-off period was always intense, with every member of the team on and off the pitch working overtime to ensure the players were in the best position to play and hopefully win. The medical team had been working hard to make sure every player was fit and the team had been putting in extra training hours, studied the lions closely to find any weaknesses. Following the last meeting with the Lions, the Bears were out for blood, Chris more so than anyone. It was almost a derby-level rivalry now.
When Friday evening rolled around everyone was looking forward to a chilled night ahead of the final tomorrow. You more so than anyone, when you finally got back to your apartment you were looking forward to a nice alcoholic beverage and just chilling either in the bath or on the couch.
You had just changed out of your work gear and into some comfies when you heard your phone ringing. You grabbed your phone, a warm smile forming on your face when you saw it was Chris.
“I swear to god if you’re calling me to say you’ve injured yourself Evans” you said as you picked up.
Chris’ deep laughter filtered through the phone “No I’m good, Langley might get injured tomorrow though”
You let out a small sigh, Bryce’s ban following his red card was over now meaning he was back playing just in time for the final. You knew he’d too be out for blood and just hoped he didn’t get his way.
“As long as it doesn’t get you sent off” you warned him.
“Don’t worry about that, I know how to keep it clean and legal” he said, a smirk clear in his voice “I was wondering what you planned to do tonight?”
“Oh uh nothing really, the medical team stayed pretty late to make sure everything was ready for tomorrow so I’m just looking forward to just relaxing since tomorrow will be pretty intense,” you told him as you walked out of your bedroom and into your living room.
“Ah good because I know exactly what you should do to relax”
You arched a brow “Oh really what’s that?” You asked, but before Chris got the chance to answer you heard your buzzer go “Oh hold on there’s someone at the door” You pressed your phone to your shoulder as you walked over and answered the intercom “Hello?”
“You gonna let me up or not?” You heard Chris say.
You furrowed your brows in confusion not sure for a moment whether his voice was coming from your phone or your intercom.
“Chris?”
“Yeah buzz me in already” he chuckled.
You blinked a couple of times before doing what he said and buzzed him in. You stepped to the side and opened the door, still not quite believing Chris was actually here. That was until you saw him appear with a grin and a bag full of something.
“Hey,” he grinned as he walked over and greeted you with a kiss.
“Hi” you said breathlessly “what- what are you doing here?” You asked as you shut the door behind him.
“You said it yourself, tomorrow is gonna be intense so we should relax tonight, and I have just what we need” he smiled holding up the bag he held.
“What you got in there?” You asked as you tried to get a peak.
“It’s a surprise, one that I’ll need a little bit of time to set up” he explained.
“How long?”
“Long enough for you to have a relaxing bath” he grinned, You couldn’t help the small moan that escaped your lips at the idea which made his grin widen “So why don’t you go relax while I set this up?”
“I like the idea of that, got anything alcoholic in there?” You asked.
“Of course, I’ll bring you something,” Chris said as he gently pushed you in the direction of your bathroom.
A short while later you were relaxing in a nice warm bath, surrounded by bubbles. Chris then poked his head in holding a glass of wine for you.
“Perfect thank you,” you said with a grateful smile “Are you drinking tonight?”
Chris shook his head “No, gotta keep the head clear for tomorrow but don’t feel like you can’t”
“I won’t” you smirked as you took a healthy sip making Chris chuckle.
His gaze then dipped from your lips to below the waterline, his tongue poking out to quickly wet his lips.
“When do I need to get out?” You asked, but Chris didn’t seem to notice you had been talking until you cleared your throat loudly.
“Hm? Sorry what?” He hummed shaking his head his eyes finally returning to yours.
You chuckled at him “I asked when I needed to get out for?”
“Oh,” Chris said as he quickly checked his watch “Um everything should be ready in 30 minutes”
“Okay perfect, I look forward to my surprise” You grinned.
30 minutes later you were out of the bath and back into some comfies, the smell of something delicious wafting through the air in the apartment. You followed the smell grinning when you saw Chris standing in your kitchen wearing your apron which you rarely used yourself. It looked absolutely tiny on Chris.
“Smells delicious,” you said as you walked in and wrapped your arm around his waist.
“The best thing about pre-match days is I can eat a shit ton of carbs and it is part of the diet plan” Chris grinned as he wrapped his arm around you “So I thought since we both had a pretty intense day today and tomorrow will be the same, I thought I’d cook us some spaghetti bolognese”
You hummed in appreciation “The perfect comfort meal, have you got garlic bread?” You asked with an arched brow.
Chris looked down at you offended “Of course I have garlic bread, I’m not a heathen!”
You laughed patting his chest “was only checking, shall I set the table?” You asked nodding to the bare table.
“No it’s okay I’ve got it sorted already” he said making you furrow your brows in confusion.
“Are you sure you didn’t hit your head? Because the table is not set” you said pointing to the table.
Chris chuckled “I know that, just trust me,” he said as he started plating up “Follow me, sweetheart”
You did as you were told and followed Chris out of your kitchen and into your living room. Your lips parted in surprise and your heart melted when you saw what Chris had done. He’d set up a picnic under the stars right there in your living room. A blanket was spread out, candles lit on the coffee table and strings of lights hanging over your window. It looked incredible, you even considered asking Chris if you could keep the string lights.
“Chris…” you muttered in disbelief.
“You like it?” He asked with a look on his face that almost looked bashful.
“I-I love it, but why?” You asked as you both sat down on the floor in front of your coffee table.
Chris shrugged as he gave you a boyish “why not? Do I need a reason to spoil you?”
You tried to think of a reason but drew a blank, you chuckled and shook your head “I guess not, thank you either way”
“You're welcome, to hopefully a Bears win tomorrow” Chris smiled holding up his glass of water.
“To a Bears win tomorrow” you smiled tapping your wine glass against his.
“Now let’s tuck in before it gets cold,” Chris said nodding to the food.
“Don’t need to tell me twice” you chuckled before tucking in.
As you ate you couldn’t help but glance over at Chris periodically. Something had definitely changed between you two and you weren’t sure when. You could say it was the weekend in LA, or when he picked you back up after your night out with the ticket office mean girls, but neither of those answers seemed right. It had just been a gradual shift since the moment you started this agreement.
You started to wonder what kind of relationship this was now because it certainly wasn’t casual anymore. Casual wasn’t unloading all your trauma on your partner, casual wasn’t starting a fight with the other's ex, casual wasn’t setting up starlight picnics just for the hell of it. But you couldn’t call it a relationship either.
You didn’t get to think more about it and frankly, you didn’t want to either, it seemed like a slippery slope to you getting confused and hurt. Now wasn’t the time, Chris didn’t need to be distracted by your relationship questions and you needed to be focused too. It could wait til later.
To your relief when Chris sat back down from taking the empty plates into the kitchen he wrapped his arm around you and pulled you closer to him. You smiled softly as you looked over at him, he smiled back in return before hooking his finger under your chin tilted your head back and kissed you. You melted into the kiss, all intrusive thoughts leaving your mind at his touch.
The hunger and desire you had for him won out as you cupped his cheeks and shifted so you were stranding his hips. Chris groaned his hands moving to rest on your back as he held you close. This kiss deepened as his hands slipped under your top, his hands heating up your skin.
The heat from his hands spread through your body and down south. Your hips rolled against his causing the both of you to moan, Chris’ grip on you tightened.
“I need you” you murmured in between kisses. The three words felt deeper than they ever had before like they meant more than just needing his body.
“I need you too” Chris muttered as he lifted his hips, his hand reached into his pocket and pulled out a condom.
You smirked as you took it from him and stood up long enough to remove your shorts and top. As you did so Chris did the same with his top and sweatpants, his erection standing proud. You ripped the wrapper open and kneeled back down and rolled it on, Chris moaning as you did so.
You gave him a lopsided grin as you leaned in and kissed him as you moved back to straddle his hips. Chris gripped your ass as he guided you down onto him, you moaning into the kiss as you did so.
Once you were fully seated you tilted your head back, something Chris took full advantage of by pressing kisses down you next and to your chest. You moaned and rolled your hips when his mouth found your sensitive peaks, giving each equal attention.
One of his hands rested on your back, holding you close, while the other was on your hip guiding your movements. It wasn’t long until you were chanting his name like a prayer, hips rolling feverishly as you searched for your peak.
Chris leaned in to whisper in your ear “I want to feel you finish” he nibbled on your ear and that was all you needed to fall off the edge into oblivion.
When your movements stuttered as your orgasm rocked your body, Chris took over as he chased his own end. One that he found shortly after yours with a loud moan of your name.
With your chest still heaving, Chris cupped your cheek and pulled you in for a deep kiss “I wish I could do this every day” he murmured only barely audible.
You searched his eyes for a moment, your hand running through his hair as you did so. You tried to understand the meaning behind his words, whether he meant them in a casual way or more seriously. You weren’t sure what answer you wanted. You didn’t know what you wanted. Your mind and thoughts were jumbled, two different answers pulled at you, one from the chest and one from your head.
You already knew it wasn’t a question you could ask tonight. You had time to try and work out what it was you even wanted. You couldn’t ask Chris what he wanted if you didn’t know what answer you wanted. So you’d wait, wait until you had your answer, wait until after the championship was won or lost.
Tumblr media
You barely slept last night. Not because Chris had kept you up. No, he’d left last night so he’d get a good night’s sleep ahead of the game because ‘you’re far too tempting to just sleep next to’.
You’d had another one of your panic attacks. Now that you knew what they were it was less scary. You didn’t feel the need to rush to the bathroom. You’d just take a few deep breaths like Chris had told you and wait to fall back asleep.
But last night you just couldn’t fall back asleep. You’re mind just kept whirring trying to work out what you wanted. One moment you thought you knew only for the next moment to tell you something different. Every time you looked over at your alarm clock an hour had passed and you were still wide awake.
Needless to say, you were pretty exhausted and running on coffee to get you through the day. By the time you got to the stadium, you felt more awake but still pretty distracted. Too distracted for a game as important as this.
So you found somewhere quiet and private to call Tommi. If you couldn’t talk to Chris about all this, maybe talking it through with Tommi would help.
“Hey I didn’t expect to hear from you today, it’s the final this afternoon isn’t it?” Tommi said as she picked up.
“Yeah, in a couple hours I just got to the stadium, are you gonna be watching?” You asked, already knowing the answer would be no even if her last encounter with Ari might suggest otherwise.
“No you know rugby isn’t my thing,” she said making you chuckle, “but I might keep up to date with the score”
“Well I guess I can settle for that” you smirked.
“So what’s up? Has something happened with you and Chris?” She asked making you let out a long sigh “What did he do?”
“Nothing” you instantly defended him “Nothing bad anyway”
“Right,” Tommi said slowly.
“It’s just something has changed between us, it doesn’t feel casual anymore” you explained as you leant up against the wall.
“And is that a good thing or bad thing?”
“I don’t know, whenever I think about either option it doesn’t feel right and I want the other option” you sighed.
“Right well logically you’re either gonna end it with him or it becomes more serious” Tommi said “So how would you feel if you ended it?”
“Shit” you responded instantly, you didn’t need to think about it at all.
“Okay and how would you feel if it was more serious?”
You took more time with this question. Trying to search your brain for an answer but falling short “I-i don’t know” you muttered looking down.
“I see” Tommi hummed.
“I just-“ you started, feeling the need to justify your answer “part of me does and part of me doesn’t and I don’t know which part is larger”
“Have you spoken to Chris about all this?” Tommi asked.
“No, I only started questioning all this last night when he came over and didn’t want to distract him before today” you sighed.
“What happened last night?”
“He surprised me by coming around and cooking me dinner and making a starlight picnic using string lights” you told her unable to stop the smile that crept onto your face when you recalled it.
“That’s very sweet” Tommi commented.
“Yeah, it was” you sighed softly.
“Can I tell you what I think?” Tommi said gently.
“Sure,” you said, maybe she could make sense of it all.
“I think you love him”
You went to protest but couldn’t bring yourself to outright deny it “We’ve only known each other a couple of months” you managed to say.
“Time doesn’t matter when it comes to love, I knew I loved Dan pretty quick” Tommi said softly.
“But you knew, I don’t, I don’t know if I love him or not“ you argued “Even if I did I don’t think he loves me”
“Look I don’t know for certain but I saw the way you looked at each other in LA” Tommi told you.
“I thought you were too busy arguing with Levinson” you smirked.
Tommi let out a funny-sounding and awkward scoff-like laugh “No I wasn’t” she retorted “but anyway I saw what I think is a lot of love between you two”
You let out a long sigh “Do you really think so” you asked quietly.
“I couldn’t tell you for certain but I think so, but you should talk to Chris about all this after the match” Tommi told you softly.
“But I don’t even know what I want or if I even love him or not” you sighed shaking your head.
“That’s okay but a relationship is between two people, you need to talk about all this with Chris, tell him how you feel and find out what he feels and work out what you both want to do together”
“Okay,” you whispered.
“It’s scary, I know but I also know you’ll work it out because you are the strongest person I know” Tommi reassured you.
“Thank you Tommi,” you said “I really wish you were here”
“I wish you were here, but I don’t think you’ll be coming back here will you?”
“No, so unless you want to relocate to the east coast,” you said hopefully.
“Sorry but no, Cali is where I need to be” she sighed.
“It was worth a shot, maybe you can visit in the summer” you suggested.
“I’d love that, once you know what’s going on with you and Chris you let me know when will be a good time for me to visit” Tommi smiled.
“Sounds good, I better get going, we’ve got a lot of prep to do still and my dad’s probably looking for me,” you told her.
“Okay, good luck,” Tommi said “I know very little about rugby but I hope Chris absolutely murders Bryce”
You laughed “Me too, I’ll talk to you later, hopefully with some good news”
“Talk to you tomorrow when you recover from your celebratory hangover” Tommi said making you chuckle.
“Tomorrow it is” you agreed before hanging up.
You took a moment to take a few deep breaths before making your way out towards the medical room. Chatting with Tommi had made the noise in your head quieten, even if you did now wonder whether what you felt for Chris was love or not.
The next couple hours were a blur, a good distracting blur, and before you knew it you were in the changing room helping the players get ready to play the match of their lives.
You were giving Johnny some quick physio when he glanced around the room before gesturing for you to move closer so he could say something to you “Don’t you worry about today I’m gonna make sure Bryce sees the business end of my boots during rucks today” he whispered.
You pulled back suddenly, eyes darting over to Chris scared that he might have told someone what you’d told him.
Johnny must have seen the panic on your face because he was quick to clarify “Oh shit no, I don’t know what Langley did, Chris hasn’t said a word and you don’t have to either, I just put two and two together and realised he must have done something and I just wanted to know we’ve got your back, all of us”
Your shoulders dropped in relief “Thanks Storm, you’re a really good friend” you said “You’re a really caring and soft guy behind that player look”
Johnny gave you a bashful smile before switching it up to his trademark lopsided smirk “Don’t blow my cover”
You tapped your nose “Secret is safe with me” you grinned before grabbing your bag.
You glanced around the changing room looking to see if anyone else needed help. Chris caught your attention as he lifted his hand and pointed to his wrist. You nodded and moved your way through the room to him. Dumping your bag on the floor by his feet before grabbing the tape.
“How you feeling?” You asked as you began strapping up his wrist.
“Confident” Chris grinned “The atmosphere is electric already”
“The crowd here are on another level” you agreed.
“How about you?” He asked, your gaze met his and realised he wasn’t talking about the match, he meant how did you feel about Bryce being here.
You took a deep breath as you took stock of how you felt. While your mind didn’t feel completely at rest while you pondered what relationship you wanted and how you felt, you weren’t thinking about Bryce. You almost felt at peace with the whole situation.
“I’m good” you admitted as you finished strapping up his wrist.
Chris gave you a soft smile “Good” he said as he took the tape from you, putting it away in your kitbag.
“Glad to see you kept your medal” he grinned as he passed you back your bag, referencing the player of the match medal he snuck into your kit bag after the match in LA.
You chuckled and shrugged your shoulders “Thought it might be a good luck charm” you admitted as you stepped away.
A short while later you were pitch side waiting for kick-off. The atmosphere was insane, almost indescribable. You glanced over to the large championship trophy and instantly pictured Chris lifting it above his head following their victory. It was an image so clear that you couldn’t think anything else could happen.
Your gaze then shifted to the players who were walking onto the pitch. The Lions came out first as the visiting team. Most looked out at the pitch but Bryce, of course, looked over at you. You didn’t look away though, you didn’t look weak or broken, you looked back with a look of indifference. Something that seemed to bug him.
The Bears came out next, led by Chris. You looked at him proudly as he did so, smiling when he jogged past and winked at you.
Soon enough the whistle blew and the game kicked off. Both sides came out of the blocks with fire in their veins. You could tell just by the first minute it was going to be a similar match to the last time the two teams played each other. The medical team were gonna be busy.
Within the first 5 minutes, Chris had caught an interception and blazed past the Lions towards the try line. The entire stadium was screaming as he ran at full speed, Lion defenders desperately trying to close the gap but ultimately failing as he dove under the posts.
The entire stadium erupted, the rest of the team running over to congratulate Chris on the try. Chris grinned proudly as he took the praise, one of your team had jogged onto the pitch with the kicking tee and water for him. Chris took the kick quickly, it was an easy one in front of the posts. As the ball sailed over Chris saluted the Lions, more specifically Bryce, before turning back around to jog back to his half to restart.
Chris definitely seemed to have riled the Lions up because they hit back harder. For a while, it became a kicking game with Chris and Bryce kicking the ball for territory back and forth. The game shifted though when the Lion’s fullback caught the ball before kicking it down the pitch towards Chris.
You watched as Chris leapt up into the air. The next few seconds went by like an eternity. Quicker than anyone could react, Bryce was charging down the pitch. You watched in horror as he tackled Chris while he was still in the air. A move that was so illegal the entire crowd erupted in response. You watched as Chris twisted in the air, moving past the horizontal thanks to Bryce tipping his legs upwards, so he landed on his shoulder, his head hitting the ground next with a horrid thunk.
The entire stadium fell silent for a moment as Chris lay motionless on the floor. Chaos then erupted as the crowds shouted for a red card, the rest of the Bears rushing over. Ari grabbed Bryce and ripped him off Chris and moved him away, throwing him down onto the ground which sparked a brawl between the two teams.
The entire time this was happening you were frozen in place, your heart had stopped and all you could hear was ringing in your ears as you stared at Chris motionless on the floor. It took one of your fellow medics shouting at you to finally spark you into action.
You followed the other medics onto the field, your legs feeling like jelly as you ran. Your hands shook as you finally got there and crouched down. Your ears were still ringing so it took you a moment to hear your coworkers telling you to support his neck as they moved him onto his back.
You did as you were told, hands placed on each side of his head. When you got him onto his back you could see his shoulder was either dislocated or his collarbone was broken. He was still unconscious either from being knocked out or blacking out from the pain.
Your heart broke as you looked down at him. You’d seen him injured before but not as bad as this. Your lip started to wobble and tears collected in the corner of your eyes as you held his head, desperately wanting his eyes to open.
You gently stroked the side of his head, keeping it still, as you tried to coax him to come around. The other medics worked on his shoulder, checked the rest of his body out for injuries and radioed for a stretcher.
As they moved his arm to stabilise it, he jerked beneath you. His eyes shot open before contorting in pain, a scream of agony leaving his lips. His body reacted on instinct and tried to move forcing you and the rest of the medics to fight to keep him still so he didn’t make it worse.
“Sh, sh, sh,” you told him unable to stop your tears now, your entire soul hurting as you watched him in pain “Get him painkillers!” You shouted to the other medics before turning your attention back to Chris “You need to stay still sweetheart, you’re gonna be okay, take some deep breaths”
“Babe it hurts” Chris groaned, his chest heaving.
“I know, I know it does sweetheart, we’re gonna give you some painkillers now and get you to the hospital” you promised him.
“Stay” he managed to say his eyes finding yours.
“I will I promise” you swore.
Thankfully the painkillers kicked in pretty quickly allowing you and the rest of the medical team to carry him off the pitch on the stretcher. The entire stadium applauded in respect, Jensen and Ari jogging over to check on Chris as you carried him off. Ari had a split lip from the fight that needed attention but that could wait, Chris needed you now.
As you walked into the tunnel ready to take Chris to the ambulance you were surprised to find Andy waiting.
“Your mic is on” he warned nodding to your radio pack.
You looked down in horror to realise he was right, the mic on your radio to the coaching team had been on for god knows how long. Your dad would have heard everything. You calling Chris sweetheart. Him calling you babe.
You quickly switched it off “Thanks” you muttered “I’ll accompany him to hospital” you said.
“No, I’m going and you’re staying here, your dad wants you on water duty,” Andy told you.
“But-“ you started to argue.
“You don’t want to fight him on this” Andy warned, giving you a look that told you just how pissed off your dad was “Help load him onto the ambulance and then take a few moments to collect yourself” he said, his voice softer as he put a comforting hand on your shoulder.
You nodded, a couple of paramedics had joined to help carry the stretcher allowing 2 of the other medics to return to the game. You carried Chris out of the stadium to the waiting ambulance with the rest of the medics.
“Can I talk to him before you go?” You asked the paramedic.
He nodded his head and stepped aside to let you into the ambulance. You stepped up and moved to Chris, taking his hand gently.
“Hey,” Chris murmured.
“Hey” you said softly “I need to stay here to make sure no one else gets injured, but as soon as I can I’ll come straight to the hospital” you promised him.
You could see the disappointment in his eyes but he nodded “Win the match for me” he muttered.
You let out a watery chuckle “Okay, I’ll see you soon” you said leaning down to kiss his forehead.
You didn’t want to delay his medical treatment anymore so said goodbye before stepping out of the ambulance, letting Andy take your place before watching as it drove away towards Mass Gen. You took a shaky breath trying and failing to get your emotions in check.
Wrapping your arms around yourself you made your way into the changing room. Without thinking you walked over to Chris’ cubby and sat down, resting your head against the side. You couldn’t stop the tears from falling as you began to sob.
You could hear the crowd cheering in the stands around you. You knew you needed to get back out there and do your job, but couldn’t think about that. All you could think about was that you knew you loved Chris. You loved Chris and you couldn’t be with him when he needed you. You loved Chris and your dad was going to kill you.

The rest of the match felt like an eternity. You hadn’t managed to bring yourself back onto pitch side before halftime so when the team filtered into the changing room you got up from Chris’ cubby and moved to stand in the far corner.
Johnny had been the first player to walk over and make sure you were okay. You gave him a weak smile and nodded your head hugging yourself tightly. Ari then walked over to inform you that he made sure Bryce’s face was the same shade of blue as the Bears jersey. You let out a weak chuckle at that. Jensen was the next player to walk over asking if Chris was gonna be okay.
You nodded and cleared your throat “Yeah, it’s a suspected dislocation or broken collarbone and given how he came round” you said having to take a moment to compose yourself as you recalled it “it looked like he blacked out from the pain rather than being knocked out, no suspected head or neck injury”
You hadn’t realised the team had fallen silent to listen to you until Curtis broke the silence “We’re gonna make them pay” he growled.
Your dad then walked in ready to give the halftime talk. You wished that Johnny, Ari and Jensen hadn’t moved to sit back down in their cubbies. Your wall of protection suddenly gone. Your gaze met your father’s who looked back at you with disappointment before returning his attention to the team.
To your surprise, not only had Bryce been sent off with a red card, but Brad had too for throwing the first punch after Ari threw Bryce to the floor. The Bears had a two-man advantage and had already started to make the Lions hurt. You knew it was about to get more painful now they heard how bad Chris was.
Soon enough half time was over and you followed the medical team back onto the sidelines. Not that you’d be doing much treatment having been relegated to water duty. You watched from the sidelines as the Bears continued to fight, scoring more and more tries. Their tackles landed harder than ever before.
When the clock ticked over the 80th minute and Johnny kicked the ball off the pitch to end the match the entire stadium erupted in cheers. The Boston Bears had won the Championship but you didn’t care. You just wanted to go see Chris.
As soon as you could you left pitch side. You needed to grab your phone and keys from the medical office before making your way to the hospital. Hopefully, before your dad could intercept you.
You thought you were in the clear but just as you stepped out of the medical office you heard someone clear their throat loudly behind you. You turned around to see your dad standing there with his arms crossed.
“Not going to celebrate the win with the team?” He asked.
“No I need to go, I have something I need to do,” you told him shouldering your bag.
“Not yet, we need to talk first in my office” he said leaving no room for arguments so you nodded your head and followed him to his office.
Once inside your dad moved to lean against his desk, arms still crossed as he looked down at the floor. You stood a couple of feet away.
“What happened out there? I’ve seen you deal with a snapped leg which was facing the wrong way better than that” he asked.
You sighed and shrugged your shoulders “Chris means a lot to me, I was just shocked at how bad it looked when he got tackled, he was screaming in pain, you would have heard it over the radio” you said honestly.
“I did, and it’s not just that he means a lot to you is it? You’re dating him.” Your dad hummed.
“Yes, I am” you admitted, knowing there was no point in denying it now.
Your dad sighed and shook his head “How could you be so stupid? After everything that happened to you in LA, how could date another rugby player after that? Especially after I made it clear to them all that you were off limits?” He demanded.
“We got together before you told the players that” you admitted quietly.
Your dad scoffed quietly and shook his head “Regardless you should know better”
“Maybe, but Chris is different! He’s been there for me!” You argued, your dad shook his head in disbelief “he did! That fight he started in LA was because of me! He heard Bryce talking shit and goaded him into a fight”
Your dad blinked a couple of times in surprise “he knows?”
You nodded “he didn’t at the time but I have told him, told him everything, even the things I couldn’t tell you and he didn’t run away or confirm my fears, he held me tight and made sure I was okay while I had a panic attack” you stated.
“I didn’t know you’ve been having panic attacks” he said his brows furrowed in concern.
“I didn’t know they were panic attacks until that night” you admitted “but the point is Chris isn’t like Bryce, he’s different in every way and… I couldn’t help falling in love with him”
Silence fell in the room at your admission. Your dad looked down as he nodded his head.
“Okay” he started “now I say this not because I want to hurt you, but because I want to protect you and you need to end this before he hurts you, because he will”
You felt like you had been punched in the gut “dad…”
“I’m sorry Y/N but it’s true” he said with a sad sigh.
“No, it can’t be,” you said shaking your head, your voice breaking, “Tommi said she saw what looked like love between us”
“When did Tommi see you two together?” He asked.
“In LA me, her, Chris and Ari had lunch together in the hotel bar” you answered.
“Right” he nodded “I can understand why you’d want to believe her but she doesn’t know Chris like I do, I’ve coached him for the past 9 years, since he was 19” your dad sighed “he’s not a player like Storm but he’s not someone I would trust with you”
You stumbled back hearing that “You don’t think he loves me back?” You whispered.
“I- no I don’t and I’m sorry, I just want to protect you” he sighed.
You nodded “You think I should end it?” You muttered sadly.
“We both know I can’t make you, but yes I think you should” he admitted.
You sniffled and wiped away the stray tears “Okay” you muttered.
“I’m sorry” your dad sighed as he walked over to wrap his arms around you “I know it doesn’t feel like it right now but this is the right decision”
“Can I still go see him in hospital? I promised him that I would and I don’t want to break that promise” you asked.
Your dad sighed before nodding “Yes but I’ll drive because you’re in no state”
“Thank you” you muttered.
A short while later you were walking through the corridors of Mass Gen, a nurse directing you and your dad to Chris’ room. Updating both of you as she did so.
“It was both a dislocation and a broken collarbone so it’s no surprise he blacked out, thankfully it wasn’t a compound break and didn’t require surgery. He’s not concussed either which is good so we’ve been able to give him painkillers that will make him drowsy” the nurse told you.
“Do you think he’ll be able to play again?” Your dad asked.
“We’re hopeful, with good physio he should be on top form again” The nurse nodded.
“Good,” you said knowing Chris would be devastated if it was a career-ending injury.
“He’s gonna be a little out of it because of the pain meds but he’s not in pain and should be fine as long as he doesn’t jostle his shoulder” the nurse said as you reached his room.
“Thank you,” you said before quietly opening the door to his room.
Chris was fast asleep, his arm in a sling. His mom sat by his bed, she smiled when she saw the both of you walk in.
“Coach you didn’t need to come” she said quietly, getting up to shake his hand.
“I couldn’t not check in with my star captain,” your dad said with a small smile.
“And you must be Y/N,” she said turning to you “Chris has said so much about you”
Your eyebrows rose in surprise “he has?” You asked in surprise.
“Yes! He’s been asking for you since he got here, didn’t care about the game” Lisa chuckled in disbelief.
“Wow,” you muttered in disbelief, glancing over at your dad. What you needed to do was going to be much harder now.
At that exact moment, Chris began to stir, his mom stepped out of the way gesturing for you to go to him. You walked to his side, resting a hand carefully on his chest.
“Chris,” you said softly.
He blinked a couple of times, clearly still a bit loopy as he couldn’t keep his eyes open or his head still.
“Hey sweetheart, how you feeling?” You asked as you brushed some hair out of his face.
Chris frowned and pushed your hand away “Sorry” he slurred “I’m sure you’re lovely but I’m taken”
“What?” You asked confused.
“Her name is Y/N and she’s amazing and so strong as amazing and I love her so I’m sorry but not gonna happen” he slurred shaking his head.
You couldn’t help but chuckle, he didn’t recognise you in his drugged-out haze. You heard Lisa chuckle behind you, muttering how cute it was.
“Chris, sweetheart it’s me, it’s Y/N,” you told him softly.
Chris squinted at you, a look of deep concentration on his face before his face lit up and he gasped “Babe! You’re here! Why did you take you so long!” He complained.
“I’m sorry I came as fast as I could” you apologised smiling down at him “and I love you”
Chris gave you a lopsided grin as he reached out to take your hand and kiss your knuckles “I love you too” he said making you chuckle, clearly, he didn’t realise he had already admitted that to you “Did you win the match for me?”
You nodded “Absolutely destroyed the Lions, Ari made sure Bryce’s face was black and blue before he got his red card for the tackle,” you told him.
“Good he deserves it, deserves to never play again” Chris said “shame I couldn’t lift the trophy but you’re more important to me”
“I’m glad to hear it, and you’ll have your chance to lift it” you promised him.
“What about your dad? He’s not gonna kill me is he?” Chris asked his eyes going droopy again.
“I won’t let him, now get some rest,” you said softly.
Chris didn’t protest, he nodded his head and rested it back against his pillow. It didn’t take long for him to fall back asleep, softly snoring.
Once you were sure he was fast asleep you turned back around to face your dad. He had an unreadable look on his face, you were about to say something but he turned and left the room.
You quickly followed after him catching up with him in the hallway “Dad!” You called out making him stop and turn around to face you “You can’t seriously expect me to call it off after that”
Your dad sighed and shook his head “No I can’t”
“Then what’s wrong? Are you angry with me?” You demanded.
Your dad sighed and opened his mouth before shutting it again “I- I just, I need some time” he said holding up his hand.
“Dad” you sighed.
“Stop, I’ll come to you when-“ he didn’t finish his sentence. He just turned and walked away, fists clenched down by his sides.
