#should I wish a friend happy birthday #this friend didn't write me even once for half a year and I know I kinda to blame for playing the 'I wonder if she'll write me first' game #but it worked isn't it. isn't it.#and we also kinda fighted before this break #and overall relationship went from 'we spend hours talking daily' to 'I barely get to know what happens in her life if I press hard enough'#(and I can't shake the feeling that it's because her mental health get better (good for her!) and since she wasn't in need of support so #much she just wasn't interested so much anymore. but also I can be unfair because of my own brainworms and she was just busy with her new #life and new shiny friends etc which again not something to blame her for I myself can bounce from friend to friend depend on hyperfixation #but like no news for half of year. come on)#anyway #to write or not to write #I just imagine polite 'thank you' and lifeless 'how do you do' with even more lifeless answers and death looks more preferable #and maybe it's better to just let it die as it is #but also I may be overdramatic. and it's just me seeing my fave nightmarish scenario where person could've just literally be busy #funny thing is that conclave looks exactly like shit we could've absolutely obsessed about together as in old times #but I'm not even sure I'll be comfortable mention this around her if we start talking again #our last fight kinda punched me in very soft spots #siiiiigh #it's either me overthinking or me pathetically following around person that just doesn't interested anymore (and it's fiiine things happens)#I just. need to sleep I guess.

I love that all of the dungeon meshi crew are complicated and have difficult to love components.#But Izutsumi is a particular kind of hard to love. I foresee a lot of people being turned off by her abrasiveness and lack of teamwork.#She is very self-centered and openly goes against what the party agrees on.#She's a picky eater in a story that is 50% about eating good and healthy food!#It is in part about her growth but admittedly even *then* she remains rather true to her self-centeredness.#Even though she isn't as nice or funny or compassionate as the others...Izutsumi is still someone worth loving.#Even the more difficult people are someone worth loving.#And those people in turn are people who have something and someone they love.#She may be a girlcat but she is the most human of them all.#I hope that if you are an anime only watcher and are feeling put off by her at the moment; you'll give her a chance.#By the way: *yes* I worked very hard to draw that skateboard pose. It was worth it.#EDIT: HAPPY 500th POST OF POORLY-DRAW-MDZS!!! What a comic to commemorate the milestone with!

There’s that post that’s like ‘everyone should get into a tiny niche fandom at least once’ fully agree, that was really fun -- but I would like to add that everyone should get into a fandom where their opinions run counter to major fanon because it really teaches you about sticking to your guns and trusting your interpretation of the text without having to rely on peer validation

the thing about "i could do that" is that what people mean is that they can copy the finished product because the work of coming up with something and making it has already been done for them. every little creative decision has already been made and put into creating something, so "doing the same thing" is only doing the work of physically making something. but art doesn't just appear out of thin air. every little decision someone makes is part of the creative process. if you "can just do that" you would be doing it instead of just saying it. because the most essential part of making a piece of art is actually making it. you have to come up with it, decide to make it, and make it, for it to even exist. you can look at someone's works and think that on a technical level you can Do The Same Thing but that's not really true. because the work of unique creative choices for a particular piece you're looking at has already been done. some pieces are hard to make because they're very complex on a technical level, but every single piece that's created requires the essential work of coming up with it, making choices that are unique to you as an artist, and actually making the piece

#it kinda helps me to think of my work that way #even if my work isn't complex on a technical level i'm still making my own unique creative choices #and most importantly i go through the work of actually creating something #even if i think it's lacking

that post about luigi mangione that says that solitary confinement is only used for cannibals is actually pissing me off what are they even TALKING about solitary confinement is regularly used for sooo many arbitrary reasons. like so many prisons have bullshit gang affiliation policies that land people in solitary there's a lot of prisons where most people with psych diagnoses are held in solitary many prisons have automatic solitary policies for trans people many political prisoners are held in solitary and just like there are a million different arbitrary rule infractions that could put you in solitary. what in the world do they MEAN that solitary is only for cannibals and why in the world are so many people reblogging that post without saying anything about that!

Right now it's a victim of DNS (Domain Name Service) spoofing. This means that a malicious party is trying to steal traffic from FFn by purchasing a very similar domain.

Correction:

The new "fake" site that people are seeing still belongs to FanFiction.net—they just misconfigured their servers and are not redirecting traffic from the bare fanfiction.net to the main site at www.fanfiction.net. There is likely no malicious agent. Didn't mean to scare anyone! Just wanted to let people know the site wasn't deleted!

So if you want to read fanfiction and not see leaves, you have have to type out "www.fanfiction.net".

Please share so people stop panicking.

last thing i'll say about US politics on here is that you'll never get a more left wing president if you just shut up and tell everyone around you to shut up too and leave criticisms of democrats to the right. criticizing a candidate from the left doesn't just magically convince people to vote for the right wing candidate instead and is the only way for the establishment to actually see what their voter base wants. you will never get change or progress from just shutting up and letting things happen because the alternative requires effort and seems scary.

when biden suddenly announced all of these great things for his second term why do you think this happened? because you kept posting about how we just have to vote for him and stop debating stuff or because of the people who demanded more from him and made him question how much support he actually has?
