I will say one thing I appreciate about these movies is that they like to use 3D space and movement in a way the shows often don’t (and I’m sure often couldn’t just for sheer budget/technology reasons, so I’m glad they’re utilizing their resources here)
#like I read ender’s game at an impressionable age (too young to rly interpret the author’s politics in the book or separately)#but the whole ‘up and down are often largely arbitrary in space and you need to be able to think about it differently’ thing stuck#and yet a lot of motion in scifi media still tends to be very linear/up and down#again sometimes it’s just what was within the capabilities I don’t usually count it as a Problem#but it is nice when people take advantage of no gravity/artifical gravity to move along different axes#this was so many words to explain the obvious but that’s the santeri guarantee tm#aos liveblog#(also I think I didn’t get that far into the ender’s game series bc I imprinted on petra arkanian to a degree that was Severe#and then she got largely fucked over after the first book or so iirc)#(just like. fun lore)
