iirc, there was a period of time where i saved a lot for bday leona (i forget which ver) and skipped everyone else’s cards bc i wanted him so bad. i remember saving up enough for 2 hard pities (200 pulls) cause i was real scared of not getting him 😭 thing is i didn’t expect him to come home early so i was left with a lot!

nope i don’t whale, i only bought a pack quite some time ago (i also forget which 🫠) but it was a bday gift from my sister •͈ ᴗ •͈ and i’m fortunate enough to obtain all the cards i wanted so far <(￣▽￣)>

Is Ansel the person referenced in Crown of Midnight? The one who taught Celaena about the witches? Does that mean SHE will be the betrayer??? … is this the same person she said “she’d kill” if she ever saw again?!? (These are rhetorical thoughts; more theory than question😂).

The entire time Celaena is talking about these shoes shoes (and really it’s written like poetry; when she compares them to calligraphy👌👌👌) but all I am picturing is green Elf style curly shoes🤣🤦‍♀️… then again those would make a statement sooo…

“and why Arobynn had thought he'd need three seasoned assassins to restrain him that day.” — YEAH I THINK ABOUT THAT TOO CELAENA (Sam🥹😭… ugh this angsty/pining true-soulmate childhood love trope is going to BREAK MEEEE🖤)

Wait… is this where we learn the Asterion Mare tale?!

How do they find it acceptable’” — The way Sarah writes sisterhood & female friendship is very special; honestly one of my favorite parts of her books & writing style. She hits the nail on the head 👏EVERY🥹DAM🥰TIME😭 — (not me crying cause Celaena isn’t under the stars sad and alone this time) … this is why Nehemia mattered so much😭

— also if I had a nickel for every time she said “silver lined eyes”🤣

Every time Celaena flinches I both want to hug her, hug Sarah, hug younger me, (kill Arobynn… I’m with ya Sam😅) and then thank all of them for the trauma representation; heartbreaking as it may be it’s pretty real for a fantasy series, and their is comfort in shared trauma through that lens.❤️‍🩹

EVERYTHING HAS A PRICE (giving me Ruin & Rising levels of fear here Sarah😬) — “but I’ve seen this episode and still loved the show”

It’s lovely to see Celaena be young & normal-ish; like she’s still a teenage girl in this book, she’s mortified over her first kiss, obsessed with shoes, making new friends, recklessly having fun… smiling for once… there’s an innocent joy in this book; one we never see in the post-Assassin’s Blade series…

… I think reading it post-Crown of Midnight (when I am) is especially perfect because you understand her & the books better (including tiny references like the Ironteeth witches & Asterion mares) … There’s also a sense of grief seeing her before it all “ended”, you already understand her now & now you do then too; which makes her make EVEN MORE sense; its not quite a “lost humanity”, but a grieving of lost innocence. — Despite all she had already been through, there were still these little pieces of life kept for herself back then; and something preciously heartbreakingly accurate to girlhood within them.

Despite having never been in love and not known much love Celaena seems to understand it better than most… there’s a special thing to that within her character; her joys resilience, drive for love, and draw toward goodness.

She finally feels safe… at peace🥹 (if only Sam were there… it would be home🥹😭💔)

Oh NO; normal teenage girl drama fight, meets highly trained traumatized assassins; this feels dangerous!!!

“Wincing as blood from her face dripped to his white clothes” — “A pang of guilt at the sight of her blood staining Arobynn’s exquisite red carpet” — One my heart broke at these lines; she literally feels sorry for bleeding! Two the difference within the Master in white (unstained, untouched, pure) clothes and the Master with red (already red like blood) RED carpet; that she still feels sorry to bleed onto… it’s ALREADY red—he’s the one who drew blood—& yet she’s the one who feels guilty.

Is the foreign language he reads & speaks Wyrd?

The note of the silent Master’s footsteps & lack of cruel punishment, in comparison to Arobynn’s fear invoking silence & unjust cruelty… the fear she feels just standing in front of him once again, feeling little again within minutes of coming back from months of near-freedom… barely a few pages in to The Assassin and the Underworld and I can tell it’s going to crush my heart — isn’t it?!

🤣 @bloodlessheirbyjacques Thank you for the laugh today, I’m now making Isaiah’s official title “This Hoe”

Isaiah is Will’s birth father. He hates Freaks for the same reasons everyone else does, out of fear of their powers. What he doesn’t realize is that someone in his family was hiding the fact that they’re a Freak, and those family genes passed on to Will.

It didn’t start with violence, at first, but Isaiah was very deliberate and aggressive about Will keeping his powers hidden or else the whole family would be in danger. One day while they had invited Henry’s family over for dinner, Will’s powers started acting up and Isaiah started yelling at him, and his anger scared Will even more which made his powers worse. So out of desperation, he broke Will’s arm to distract him.

While the police took him away, they started questioning Mary about why Isaiah had acted so violently, and if she had been hiding the abuse from the public. Will didn’t want her to get in trouble, so he revealed himself as a Freak in front of their very large audience, and Isaiah had to be dragged to the police car because he was screaming so much.

That whole night pretty much ruined Will’s life and destroyed his self-esteem. All he wanted was for his father to be proud of him, and that’s when Jason showed up and saved him from some kids that were egging him about his father and how he should have just killed Will (the kids in the town learn their hate from their parents 😔)

Will was instantly drawn to Jason because he was the only person besides his family and Henry that didn’t want to hurt him. And when Jason reveals that he’s a Freak, too, they’re inseparable. Will wants him to be his father desperately, to the point where he just tells people that Jason’s his dad (which is technically correct, ‘cause he’s a godfather).

But anyway, Jason’s compassion makes Will realize that Isaiah had no right to treat him the way he did. So when he returns for the first time in ten years after Will gets sick, Will actually stands up to him… which gets him impulsively thrown down the stairs, which makes Will snap and break Isaiah’s arm in retaliation (poetic justice), which makes him question his humanity again so he runs away. Don’t worry, Jason’s there to take him in and remind him that he’s just a kid, and he’ll always love him no matter what.

That version of the Audrey tea does make a bit more sense as to why Tom said he sort of broke his heart himself. I mean if it’s true then he ended things with z cause everything probaly just became to much and yeah maybe he thought that it would make her realise things needed to change. If they were hooking up during the breakup which we have all long speculated and z thought things would go back to normal maybe they had another big fight after ffh had come out and Tom was mad that z seemed to think that everything could just go back to normal without them making any changes and both of them got petty and stubborn and Tom said no we are done. Then hooked up with Olivia which would have hurt z so she took je to Greece. They were still liking the odd post of each other’s here and there after the Olivia pics though so I guess they wanted to try and make it seem like they were friends who had never dated like they had always said and z probs felt bad that Tom was being accused of cheating on her which never happened. I think even though Tom ended things with her he clearly didn’t want to and just thought it was the best thing to do at the time which is why he was hooking up in cleveland cause he’s heart was broken and he blamed himself for it maybe he feels if he had handled things differently but now it was to late cause z was dating je. And the he was devastated when those ny pap pics came out and saw her kissing him in the streets when he never got anything close to that and that was one of the things that was such a big problem in their relationship and in the heat of the moment being very upset contacted z about it and they had some heated words and stopped communicating all together. And Tom probaly regrets the way that went down aswel. I feel like their family sat back the whole time and just though they were both being stubborn and petty hoped they could work it out. They both hurt each other over stupid things but it seems neither of their family or friends were angry at the other person. Z probaly got a lot of advice from people close to her like her mum and stuff about the hiding and things like that and she realised it was a huge problem and decided to try and do things diffently with je. Zs family and friends seem to love Tom and vice versa and I’m sure all of them just sat back rolling their eyes at the 2 of them. But if they are together again now sadly it seems like they are handling things the same way... hiding. And if they aren’t dating again then atleast they have put all of that stuff that went down behind them and they are good friends again. Which I’m sure they families are happy about and probaly hope it leads to more. Poor Tom if it’s true and he ended things with her it must have really hurt for him to do that cause you can tell how much he loved her and wouldn’t have wanted things to end

I totally agree with ALL of this!    I can actually see how BOTH versions of the tea could possibly be true, based on what we know.  🤷

I don’t think any of them expected that they would be broken up for long honestly.  In fact, I myself thought they would be back together again by the end of 2019 lol...
