Instead of Donuts and Dogs today we went to hang out with some friends. One of them stayed in our home to watch over and medicate Sprinkles when we had to travel and to show our appreciation my betrothed made homemade cinnamon rolls. These are not a casual bake, and need to be shared.
I can confidently tell you that these cinnamon rolls could win competitions. There’s butter in every stage from dough, to filling, to frosting. Cream gets poured over them before they bake. The cream cheese icing is rich and has added vanilla. They added orange zest and cardamom to the cinnamon filling. I go to sleep tonight only to pass the time until my stomach empties enough to permit me to eat another.

guess who was craving indian food but didn’t want to grubhub it lol turns out chicken curry is actually pretty doable for beginners! I’m sure mine isn’t nearly as good as what you could get at a genuine Indian restaurant but I think it tastes pretty darn good all the same ~

Sul Sul, Gerbits. Before we get started on discussing what we are going to be making today, I have to address the elephant in the room. I have not been eating too many sweets, Berto and I are expecting a baby. Just wanted to let you guys know.

Now onto the recipe! Today we are making my friend Robby Birdy’s Winterfest Breakfast. The dish that she and her mom make every year. It is called Heavenly Kruggel.

Robby’s mom found the recipe in a newspaper recipe book, in the past. The recipe said that it was a good Winterfest breakfast because once you were done with opening presents you would be able to eat this heavenly creation.

As for the actual recipe, there really isn’t one. Robby told me that it changes slightly every year. But there are ingredients in this dish that are needed for it to be accurately called heavenly kruggel.

You are going to need:
egg noodles the flavors of this dish are not going to be the same if you use any other type of noodle, Egg Noodles are a must.
Eggs (the number of eggs added to this recipe is never definite, this is one of those things that changes from year to year)
a can of crushed pineapple with juice
sour cream
vanilla
cinnamon
raisins
finely chopped nuts.
Robby and her family usually use walnuts.

When I was talking to her about this recipe she kinda just laughed at me, saying that there was no recipe for this breakfast. The ingredients are changeable and the instructions are very simple. I did ask her permission to share this recipe with you, gerbits, and she said it was fine.

 The instructions for this to combine everything in a greased  8X8 pan, mix it and cover it, putting it in the fridge overnight.

In the morning of Winterfest you are going to pull it out when you and your family are starting to get hungry. Preheat the oven to 350 and bake it for 1 hour.

btw if you put olive oil in a pan with three cloves of minced garlic and then let it cook until it's aromatic and then take two cans of crushed tomatoes and put it in the same pan and season it with salt, pepper, any sorta italian dried herbs, garlic powder, and whatever else sounds good, and then boil some angel hair pasta and strain it and add it directly to the sauce when it's done, cover it in parmesan, and garnish with fresh basil you can have the world's easiest most delicious pasta dish in your kitchen in a matter of like twenty minutes.
and if you want to take it a step further you can take that pasta out of the pan and put it into a large bowl, put some butter in the pan and season a chicken breast or two with the same seasonings you used for the pasta + another couple cloves of garlic and cook them until they're golden brown and starting to blacken, and then cut them up and put them with the pasta, and Then garnish with fresh basil. and that's more of a thirty minute endeavor but it's so fucking good and worth it.

Ingredients: 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder 1 teaspoon baking soda 1/2 teaspoon salt 1 cup unsalted butter, softened 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar 2 large eggs 1 cup mashed ripe bananas (about 3 bananas) 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1 cup buttermilk Cream Cheese Frosting: 8 oz cream cheese, softened 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened 1/2 cups powdered sugar 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 2-3 tablespoons heavy cream Topping: 1 banana, sliced Directions: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour three 9-inch round cake pans. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside. In a large bowl, beat together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Mix in mashed bananas and vanilla extract. Alternately add flour mixture and buttermilk to the banana mixture, beginning and ending with the flour mixture. Mix until just combined. Divide the batter evenly among the prepared pans. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Cool in pans for 10 minutes, then remove to wire racks to cool completely.
