Overview of Kélas and Shadows of the Past

posting this so anyone interested in my ramblings about OCs knows at least a little bit of wtf im on lmao

What is Kélas and Shadows of the Past?

Kélas is the one and only fictional continent that my OCs inhabit and where my story Shadows of the Past (and others, such as Yrsk's prequel Seven Circles of Death) is set. It has been in the works since 2017 and it's still unfinished. I have technically finished it in 2020 but I grew unsatisfied with a lot of stuff in it, so now it's in a really slow process of being written all over again. It's in Czech only and I definitely don't plan an English translation.

The setting

The classic: medieval high fantasy with a little bit of magic and non-human beings (wyvern shapeshifters and harpies). As of the beginning of Shadows of the Past, there are four sovereign kingdoms – Northern Union, Parlene-Sekardian Federation, Middleland Alliance and Southern Empire (also often called Lynirosan Empire). They all consist of a number of smaller autonomous units but talking about all of them would make this post billion times longer.

I could say the inspirations are very euro-centric but lately I've been working hard on making every culture it's own unique thing, with real-world inspirations being mostly only superficial. Likely influenced by my constructed languages.

There is also a little bit of magic involved but yapping about it would also significantly lengthen this post. The important thing is that it cannot be learned, a person has to born with it, and that it stems from the ability to control the invisible threads of magic present in everything on Kélas. The magic isn't extra strong – actually, killing a person with magic directly is nearly impossible.

The characters

And finally, the OCs. The "main" ones and my favorites are Nyr, the very main protagonist of Shadows of the Past (the book is written from his perspective), and Yrsk, the second protagonist, who is present throughout the entirety of the story. These two later become lovers.

Another two characters from the main cast are Snori and Hara. They become lovers as well, but significantly quicker than the guys who are having their slowburn homoerotic bromance with angst and shit for like half of the novel. They travel with Nyr and Yrsk and are their good friends (mlm and wlw solidarity ftw).

And the last guy to join the main cast is Veran. A so called most incapable bounty hunter on the entire continent. Yrsk has beef with him kind of.

I might not talk about her often but the main antagonist and villain of the story is the Empire's current ruler, Rivalis Angara III. Hikaria. She took the throne when she was just 7 years old, after the mysterious death of her parents. She might be insane, who knows. Speaking of her, another noteworthy character is her cousin Venrask Sentangar, a son to the lord of Sentia, who helped her keep the throne while being just 14 years old.

And to mention another antagonist (with a question mark), there is Kirjan, a guy, perhaps an asshole, only loyal to himself and Venrask, noone else. He has beef with the main cast for Reasons and a weird relationship with Nihka. Weird as in even I don't know what exactly is happening between them but it might be fruity.

Now, the wyvern shapeshifters (often called just dragons or shapeshifters) – they lost their shapeshifting powers about 700 years ago and to this day, nobody knows why. But for some reason, there suddenly appeared a bunch of dragons capable of shapeshifting, tied to the Empire and causing problems for our protagonists. Among those are Hrafnur, Raroh, Ahke, Syranna, Nihka, Vahan, Rajka, Vida and more (13 in total, not all of them are named yet).

Another two frequently mentioned characters are Kaija and Yarhaq, appearing only in Seven Circles of Death. Kaija was Yrsk's lover and Yarhaq was Yrsk's master who taught him everything about fighting, killing and surviving. They were both killed by Lynirosans, hence Yrsk's grudge against the Empire.

And finally, Ki Luram, or Sand or Písek in Czech. They are a character who lived in Rasan 700 years ago and their story is not fleshed out yet, but I really like them and drawing them is also fun:)

dalia is so interesting to me. i’ve just been staring at her posts and the things she says, studying her for my own amusement, and i feel like she’s doing it back. this has never happened before.

i called my nana for her birthday a couple weeks back and she was on me about not having a girlfriend. 68 year old country baptist woman. up my ass about getting bitches. posted about it and dalia liked it immediately. two hit KO right fuckin there man.

she keeps posting photo sets of herself to songs i like and it’s driving me insane. most gorgeous woman in the world regularly posts these little spreads of artfully done photos. like. amazing lighting and composition. to songs I LIKE. and i have to reply “omg i love this song” or “the contrast on these is so cool” instead of asking her if she wants me on one knee or both because i’m down for whatever she wants

i think she’s mainly into me physically so i’m leaning toward both knees. not that i mind. we don’t know each other well enough for me to be offended by her probable lack of attraction to my personality. plus, i have friends with great personalities i would hook up with and i still don’t want to be anything more than friends. but doesn’t that make this even more confusing??

and side note: probs gunna try and change the flowers to ones that bloom at night, bcuz rachel likes the stars and moths & foxes are nocturnal and so therefore i am basing everything around the night

so ive been experimenting with giving the animal demon things familiars and also NOT making them giant (well maybe sometimes. as a treat. and also bcuz i want some of them to get mad enough and just fuckin. eat ppl.)

which means their "fully animal" forms need to be a little more complicated than i originally designed. just to distinguish between the normalish animals and the Very Much Not Normal Animals. yknow aside from me messing with their colours as much as i did bcuz that aint very swift fox lookin huh?

rachels animals are a Swift Fox and a Bella Moth and her colours are that coralish-salmonish-pinkish-orange and white, and then she gets plants and fire bcuz i got really attached to a specific scene in my paracosm where this 10 yr old and her adult who also has fire just fucking destroy some ppl that hurt both of them bcuz the solution to anger and trauma is to fucking murder them tag team style and its really pretty bcuz of all the different colours and rachels plants start wrapping around them but thats not important right now

anyway familiars: rachel likes stars so her fox is named Meteor and her moth is named Constellation, which i was like "ha ha cute" at first then remembered what Bella Moths look like with their spots and that Swift Foxes are, go figure, swift and also that they're both nocturnal so rachels interest in astronomy is really cute. idk things just kinda work out for me im so perfect that everything lines up accidentally with no forethought

anyway Meteor and Constellation look Kinda Normal But Just Off, kinda like how Alecto's (whos getting a new name) wolf would be unnaturally black despite already being a Mackenzie Valley Wolf who can have dark coats. just smudge the colours to be more saturated and make them more docile around other familiars so youre like "that fox is just. letting that moth sit on its head." theyre also significantly bigger bcuz i refuse to let Constellation be 4cm. shes the size of at least my hand maybe my face. i havent decided if Meteor would be bigger bcuz despite Constellation being a moth already im keeping Meteor a kit bcuz thats adorable. shes a babby and Rachel handles her like a really fragile stuffed animal.

anyways i mentioned the wolf imma talk about the wolf bcuz i love him. his name is Key, like CMYK haha, but then theres also the spider and his name is Lock bcuz he showed up a few years after Key. yes Alecto jokes about things being "under Lock and Key" when she leaves them in charge of things. they dont hang out bcuz Lock prefers the ceiling, which is a habit that Alecto gets bcuz i enjoy animal-ish characters having moments when they are pure instinct. Key is extremely protective over Meteor and carries her around by her scruff like hes her mother. i also havent decided if Key is gunna be bigger bcuz wolves are already fucking huge so the shock of other being like "woah. big." can also be bcuz. wolf. Lock is bigger tho bcuz Australian Funnel Web Spiders are also fucking tiny and he also needs to be bigger than 4cm. i wont say how big bcuz im already icked and i dont wanna ick anyone else but hes bigger than hes sposed to be.

the familiars are really cool, like i think most familiars in stuff im making it so that if the person is injured the familiar is injured. this is bcuz i made Alecto own a large plot of land with lots of different ppl hiding and normal ppl show up and are like "wtf happened to these animals they look like they Been Thru It". i just like making things connected magically. its fun. however with rachels fire powers that also means that Meteor gets the stereotypical fox-with-fire-powers-gets-fire-tail troupe which is kick ass normally but rachels fire is white so it looks neat!

ALSO i have given then multiple forms, bcuz i want rachel to have fun cute moments where she goes "look what i can do!" and then she has fox ears and moth antennae and everyone talks about how cute she is bcuz rachel deserves nice things like loving friends and family and also caramel

rachel is extremely emotional as most children are and has Literally No Filter bcuz i love children with no filter they're so funny. shes kinda short in her human form and in her fox-ish form shes like a lil small and focken fast. i like a moment where she runs away scared and someone catches her and shes asking if everythings fine and everyones okay with completely normal freaked out breathing and doods completely out of breath like "uh yeah weve been trying to catch you for like 10min jesus christ kid".

she likes tall ppl bcuz they remind her of her mom, but her mom wasnt actually all that tall rachel is just a small child so 5'7" looks pretty similar to 6'0" when theres no comparison. her mom made caramel out of canned condensed milk (that's based on my mom, i dont like caramel tho) and its rachels favourite thing. yknow aside from her magical animals bcuz what kid wouldn't like magical animals. she also likes rain and dresses (imma put a dress WIP at the end, but its adult size rn bcuz i used my regular base) and having her hair braided. bcuz child.

apparently i just really like smart characters bcuz im making rachel smart but also she likes stars and plants and i hate astrology so the only options are science and art and im going with science. shes a science baby. ask her about the stars and she can give you astronomy facts but shes also learning about the myth side of constellations bcuz thats the more interesting side of astrology.

anyways i think i could ramble for forever bcuz i like children so child characters are my jam, and i will forever gush about them, but i keep getting distracted by archeology videos so it's time to stop heres the fancy dress im work shopping for rachel, again its the wrong size

she does love how much he cares tho,,, its a very sexy quality its not smth shes used to. she might not completely Agree with him all the time but the way she completely trusts him overrides that so it doesnt actually Matter. & i think she also sort of uses that as a better moral compass than the one thats been trained into her, like inherently she sees herself as a semi-bad person bc of how shes able to detach from certain decisions and thats just not how he operates & she has a lot of respect for that (& probably also misses the fact that if we're comparing traumas hers are a lot more. uh. Direct lmfao.)

also god love her but she is Not a Car Girl TM. she will sit there in the garage trying her hardest to follow along & ask questions but rly truly, she has no idea wtf he is saying to her. she recognizes that he is talking about parts and seems Excited & shes just glad it requires minimal thought on her end beyond very basic open ended questions. im pretty sure he thinks she understands a Lot more about mechanical stuff than she actually does bc shes very good at picking out important words and repeating them gfhjjfdgfhg shes not TRYING to bullshit interest she just doesnt have the heart to tell him she have 0 comprehension of anything he said just now. he is so stressed so much she wants him to be happy & relaxed whenever theres an opportunity for it :(

also he listens to her interests gfhgjh even if theyre significantly less technical lmao. she likes dissecting the manufactured drama & relationships of reality tv and stuff like that bc it reminds her of a Much lower stakes version of kindred politics & the pettiness is entertaining to her. he also gets to hold her while they watch on the couch or in bed while she goes & picks apart all of the 'fighting' and production tampering & he loves hearing her talk in general but its kind of fascinating to him how she can take something so shallow & dissect it, loves how Perceptive she is when it comes to people in particular. i think sometimes if she's maybe squirming a bit much or maybe if he just feels like it he'll offer to paint her nails. she's really on top of keeping up a manicure but doesnt always do acrylics & i think he would actually get fairly into the fact that 1. its essentially just Hand Holding for a reason and 2. it requires a decently steady hand & attention to detail so it doesnt get messed up and as someone who restores bikes with tiny intricate mechanical parts, hes surprisingly well suited to this. i bet he would do little designs too if he had the tools for it. it just feels good to do something for her :')

she knows jewellery even if she doesnt know fuck all about mechanics. firmly believe she just buys him stuff all the time & shes stupidly good at nailing what someone's preferred style is. like i dont think hes ever had someone who just casually gets so many things bc 'i saw this and thought of you' and again acts like its nbd??? because it is?? shes like yeah ofc why Wouldnt i? & tbh i dont even think that the gifts stop with him either once the rest of his coterie realizes shes cool and not a camarilla mole lmao they also start getting little things. jewellery keychains shirts Whatever, all usually just dropped into their hands mid-conversation with very little acknowledgment from her. if you mention youve had your eye on a bracelet or smth she'll just grab it without thinking. if Really pressed she'll probably brush it off as 'i wasnt spending my money anyway' (girl likes to take cash when she feeds from the wealthier Reverse Orphans TM especially if theyre also cheating gfhjhj) but rly. she just enjoys making people happy, which is also something her adores about her. its the casual way its just ingrained into her personality & how she doesnt make a huge deal about it, its just how she is.

ofc he always makes sure to take care of her back, she clearly expresses affection in gift giving and acts of service but she likes quality time & physical touch for herself. which is absolutely okay by his book, he was never even close to being as touch starved as she was at any point whereas she went literal Years without being touched in some way that wasnt negative or hurtful in some form. its overwhelming for her initially & she doesnt really know how to Ask for contact but by god she gets it through him. he's always loved holding her; she just seems to tuck in Perfectly into his arms. if she's maybe getting too overwhelmed with that then he's also good to switch gears to maybe just having a hand on her back or leg or holding her hand bc there's a period right when they first officially get together where she's still trying to level herself out after so much isolation. & he's such a constant reassuring presence, it almost doesn't feel real.

tbh if he wasn't as stable as he was im not sure she would have been able to heal properly after killing her sire, she had spent so long tethered to that man and shaping her life around running from him that she didnt quite know what to Do with herself when he was gone. nines didnt explicitly provide a 'purpose' for her life, he just gave her a place to rest and recuperate while she figured herself out and started to understand the fact that she was finally safe. & that's another thing, her sire might have been a genuine threat to the point she didnt want to risk his safety, but everything else? i doubt there would be any stopping his protection instincts. sometimes thats a concern to her, but again, she needed to be with someone who would be able to be that type of support & strength while she finally released literal decades of repressed trauma & a constant fight or flight state. he cant protect her from her own mind, but he can put a stop to any outside threats. she's never had that. he might have been abandoned by a ton of people in his life, but she would have taken that over the active harm/passive allowance of harm. understanding that, to him, she is someone worth protecting? its a wild learning curve.

im also sure theres some angst to be found in his history of being abandoned + her former commitment fear that evolved into the constant need to Be Around Him but also consider: the amount of comfort he would finally have knowing theres a 99% chance if theyre at home he just has to walk into the next room to see her (assuming she isnt already closer) & how she openly admits to wanting him on all levels, like shes not just gonna be someone else who walks out of his life. absolutely her favourite spot in the world is curls up beside him, like thats where she considers Home to be and ohh man. i think that just stirs smth up in him internally. ofc he cares about a lot of people and a lot of people care about him back but this is Different. in retrospect, knowing what she went through just to be able to sit here with him? even though there was a chance she would be rejected for not being transparent with her situation prior & never fully committing (even if she otherwise would have)? knowing he might be Too Hurt to let her back in and trying it anyway & letting him take the lead on the pacing and decide what it was He needed, that's insane. but she wanted to be with him so badly it was a risk she was willing to take on, which is telling bc her whole thing was caution to the point of being detrimental to herself.

it's like,,, he knows how it feels to have followers. but just like he did with her, she was able to peel back layers and layers of public-facing personality traits & see who he was in the privacy of his own home, and Still wanted him. imo even though he knows how to command a room, he's still not 100% positive what it is about Him Specifically that makes him so special to everyone else aside form being the guy who was in the right place at the right time to make a reputation for himself. but she's like. the one person where he actually feels like he maybe understand why she looks at him that way, & its still a nebulous feeling, but its more Concrete than what he gets from starry-eyed fledglings. kat is not and has never been someone who gives people more credit than they deserve or who blindly follows people. she's harsh and she has to have a Reason to do that.

if theres ever a situation where she has to drink blood outside of her restriction, you know he's gonna be the one to take care of her. she's not a fan of it, she's in pain and she feels gross and doesn't want him to Watch the whole episode, but why would he be put off by it? they both came from big families with plenty of kids, the threshold for being grossed out by that stuff is really goddamn high for them both lmao. also she looks completely Miserable curled up on the floor like that, if she needs someone to hold her hair and rub her back a bit then okay! she will have that its what she deserves! she's gonna resist a little at first bc she was always the one doing that for her sisters being the oldest with no mother/mother figure for most of their lives but like with a lot of stuff he does, she will relax and melt into the touch after a bit and start to physically decompress. if she's up for up she will also be carried to whichever soft surface she desires, no questions asked.

theyre so domestic it Hurts. fully believe the only actual regret she has about the relationship is missing the boat on them both being human & getting to live that normal suburban family life bc she know she would have completely abandoned her Rich Husband goals & it would have been fine in the end + her dad would have loved him. theres a very deep part of her psyche with a list of names that would have sounded fantastic for theoretical children like fdgfhgjh god. she is so far gone for him, 'vampires dont love' my ASS. not to be cheesy but he's It for her, even when theyre in a rough spot she literally cannot imagine being around anyone else or giving herself to someone so fully like that and trusting that they won't use that against her or shatter her heart in the process.

LOL sorry omg i really died. like am still dying. i spent all day yesterday crying over my coursework and shit but i talked to that guy and he really knocked some sense into me and told me to not be so hard on myself... so now im crying internally and not externally 😭

ive been thinking about it now and i think i might switch majors for the sake of my sanity bc real talk the amount of work is insane and i cant properly function it's crazy out here idk how people do this... i was thinking maybe health sci since i already have most of the credits for the degree and ive always wanted to be involved in the healthcare field... im gonna see my academic advisor on monday and see what they say because holy guacamole i want to be able to enjoy school w/o crying every time i think about it

First of all, I find that incredibly amazing, since we’re both Indian and my dad was the one who wanted me to go into engineering and I remember not knowing wtf it even was (I literally thought it was a step to becoming a plumber or a car mechanic alkjsdf) but I had the grades to get into it, and literally no path set out for myself so I was like, “Sure, why not!” Little did I know that it would be the cause of crippling anxiety and depression and a complete waste of four years of my life lmao //laughs like it wasn’t a painful memory//

BUT to answer the first part of your question: in my university, when you get into engineering, the first year of engineering is common for all students, and you only choose a specific discipline of engineering in your second year. So the first one I chose was engineering chemistry, but after I failed a class in my second semester (aka the end of second year) I realized that I really hated it, and switched into computer engineering. Since the first year is common for all engineers and there are no actual pre-reqs to getting into a specific discipline other than having those first year courses (which is mandatory, like I said) it was really easy to switch my engineering discipline, and I went back to second year again… But after 1.5 more years of that I realized that at this rate I really was going to end my life soon, so after getting a nudge from my doctor I completely dropped out, which is surprisingly a pretty easy process alksjdf that is ofc if your university isn’t a complete ass… 

Now the reason I was able to easily get into a math major was because, well I took engineering and in the first year we have to do basic math courses plus there’s math courses scattered around in every discipline of engineering, so I had the math grades to get into a second year math major (math is literally the only science I am genuinely good at… I had all A’s in math so naturally my grades for that were an easy in for me ;;). But then I realized that this major made me feel like I was in engineering again which was a big no-no and after my friend roughly nudged me to go to an advisor, I just went and basically asked what courses I’d need to take to get into the linguistics major, and I took those! Sadly I got thrown back into first year but it’s a small price to pay considering what I went through ;; So technically I’m still a second year math major, but if I get good grades in my courses this year (which I am so far) I can finally apply to the linguistics department and that will be the end of that!

I would just like to add that this whole process was made an umpteen amount easier considering it was all within the same university, so credits can easily be transferred and such. But the process will be a bit, if not significantly, more complicated if it’s between different universities ;;

So long story short, in my experience at least, switching majors and all that isn’t too too hard (but like I said, mostly if it’s within the same school), but just make sure you talk to the right people on campus and they can help you out! Unlike in high school, advisers and counselors in university are exponentially more helpful, so don’t be afraid to ask them for help - it’ll lead to the best results~

As for telling your parents, I remember in second year (the first time I went through second year that is) I told my dad I didn’t wanna do engineering anymore and he gave me this look and that caused me to shut up, and just continue on the way I was. But after getting diagnosed by the doctor and having to talk seriously with my dad, I realized that he never actually meant to force me into engineering and he was really supportive of anything I wanted to do. He, just like most dads are to their daughters, are extremely protective and want their daughter to live the best possible, stable life, and was just worried that I didn’t know what I was doing (which to be fair I didn’t ;;) so he came off a bit strongly, but he really didn’t mean it that way. So I would say that, as hard as it is (and trust me I know it’s hard ;;) I would suggest seriously talking with your parents, and tell them the truth. I guarantee you the few hours of awkwardness will definitely be much better than years of self-hatred and the plethora of other negativity that engineering could cause you ;; 

You can even suggest taking a year off to explore more, or even going into a college program (idk if college and university are different where you’re from - in Canada universities give you degrees and are more theory based whereas colleges give you diplomas and are a lot more hands on and get you prepared for the workforce). Just remember that it’s okay to explore around a bit and there is no time constraint for you to figure out what you wanna do - some people take years and years, do multiple degrees, even start families before finally finding out what it is that they want to do so you have so much time, so don’t think you need to finish in four years or otherwise you’re a failure (I used to think that, and it was horrible). You don’t have to know what you wanna do at this very instant (it took me 4 years and 3 major changes before I really figured it out, and even now there’s still stuff up in the air), so just take some time to figure out what your interests are~!

Lastly, as cliche as this is, do something you love or at the very least are content with because being stuck doing something you have no care for is not only going to be miserable for you, but it’ll make you less motivated and that’ll affect your grades, general performance, and make what you’re doing even less desirable as a degree, let alone a future and possible career. As someone who did engineering because it was a good degree, it really didn’t turn out well, but now that I’m in something I enjoy, my grades have skyrocketed and my mood has gotten so much better and the fog finally cleared and I have some insight into where I want to be in life, which is a complete 180 from when I was in engineering, so 10/10 would recommend!

firstly, i think im autistic (maybe adhd too but not sure) so i guess that's how this whole 'gifted' kid thing explains itself in me. it's a very common neurodivergence experience.

i have a seemingly very easy job but i still can't seem to do all my daily tasks, it just seems impossible. i will go to uni in 2 years and it's strange because i'm excited to study philosophy (if im still interested in it then who knows) but i also know that a change of environment and suddenly having to focus and study again after 3 years of doing nothing is gonna be extremely hard for me.

what im saying is for most of my life everything at school was so easy and i thought ✨wow im so special✨ and everyone else is stupid✨ while also not being able to make friends until i was 15.

At 15 then my school environment suddenly changed (different people in every class instead of always the same people) and i was suddenly really struggling. not visibly at first and also not really significantly in my grades but i had to do so much more work to get these grades and then i blamed myself for only getting a b-.

also yea learning is a thing i also never really had to do as a child. i mean i did it for a clean moral slate and my crippling exam anxiety but i wasn't actually needing to do it. when i got older and i suddenly didn't understand stuff i was like... okay how tf do i learn this. i found my way through with making fancy study papers and punching the knowledge in my head by talking to an invisible audience but god the 2 months of my final exams last year where probably the worst of my life. it was like a two month long panic attack that wouldn't stop. i did really bad in the last two of 4 exams because i just could not find any motivation, willpower and focus to learn for them.

so yeah we can probably agree that the school system in my home country (like every school system) is pretty shit because it kinda damaged my sanity and mental health a lot.. but hey at least i can go to uni now right? and study something i either hate or can't have a degree in ://

'gifted kid' is such a stupid word because wtf were we gifted in in the first place? to hyperfocus on something that is easier for us at a younger age than other peers but then when we get older the roles are suddenly switched, everyone else is succeeding and you can't even memorise this tiny detail?? it's like a gift they take away from you and then give it to someone else to keep. no thanks i don't want it.

So I got nothing from my trip to Wonderland, but that's OK!  I'd rather get nothing then get something bad for my game.  In addition to that, though, the more juicy ish is that Sharky told me that Maynor is trying to get a group together of the 4 men not including me (or Nicole, obviously).  He probably already succeeded in that, but I do know, based on what Sharky said, that their first target would be Nicole followed up by me.  "It's not that Maynor doesn't like you, because he does, but he just thinks this is the group."  Maynor better hope that I don't swap with him because I do not mind having to flip on his ass and send him home at this point.  I'd love to stick to tribal lines and think I could find comfort in them if we swap, but I also literally don't care if I wasn't included in an alliance.

So while I know I have Sharky with my back and Maynor not with it at all, that still leaves Charlie, Nicole, and Dennis.  Nicole doesn't really talk much to anyone, so I'm kinda just gonna sneak in over the next 24 hours and make sure to solidify something with her so that I could work with her if need be.  Dennis and I talk from time to time, but I think if I can play on the fact that we both play League more, then I can solidify something with him... and Charlie and I talked about something between the two of us already, so I feel good there, but he didn't warn me about the Maynor alliance thing, so I know he doesn't trust me fully yet (which, might I add, just shows how I have to keep him at a distance).  I feel like if we can win this challenge and potentially swap next round, I will so amazing... because I might swap onto a tribe with a bunch of amazing people that will help me kill some of these annoying hoes on my current tribe (I'm looking @ you, Maynor).  My tribe's kinda hard to talk to, so I really need this... I have a newfound appreciation for john's exploration sequence at the start of homestuck. i wouldn't say im tired of the point-and-click thing yet but im not loving it - some of jude's dialogue reminds me of WV's commands to john before he reads the etiquette book. abrupt capitals. maybe that's where some of my affection for it comes from - i do like the conversation options those are pretty well done
