The amount of issues that could be avoided if people had the decency and maturity to speak to each other like civilized human beings instead of resorting to the more commonly used methods here, like anon hate, vagueing, and passive-aggressive posts that are clearly targeting a person or group.

In the three years I have been on this hellsite, I have witnessed how these "methods" turn minor issues into outright, unnecessary wars.

Here is some information for those who are unaware:

Anon hate is douchey and wrong. If you send it, you're a douche and wrong. Period. If you can't understand that, please stop reading because you are already beyond help.

Unless someone has notifications set for you, there is an excellent chance that your intended target will not even see your vague/passive-aggressive rants.

Then, when said vague/passive-aggressive rant goes unanswered and ignored, the person or mob behind it festers, simmers, and becomes more outraged.

Bruh. They probably never even saw it, and if they did, they may not known it was directed at them. Now, the problem is 10 times bigger and, best of all, the original problem was never even addressed, much less solved!

Here's another tip:

Don't always assume the worst about someone!

Especially when you never bothered to communicate with them. You're making blind assumptions when you have little or no facts. Trust me, unless you're a mind reader, you don't know. You're not that smart, babes. Trust me. I'm not, either. TALK like grownups. It's much easier than all the bullshit that arises because of the above.

Now, you may be saying, "Hey, yeah, but aren't you vagueing/targeting right now, too?"

I'm sure some will take it that way. Since they likely won't reach out to me directly, they'll take their skewed logic as gospel and insist that they know my motivation. They'll also insist it's regarding "this" fandom event or whatever our drama du jour is.

Well, absolutely no one knows my motivation except me. So I'll make it clear. This is not geared toward any specific event, past or present, but an amalgamation of everything I've seen and experienced in the past three years. My motivation is two-fold. 1) I'm letting off steam, but, more importantly, 2) it is my sincere hope that people will see this, think about how they act and interact with others, and try to be better people.

I'm sure the fandom mind readers will dismiss what I just said and assign motivation to me. Have at it. I don't care.

No one knows my motivation except me, and no one knows my desired end goal, either. My desired end goal Is that everyone, myself included, will reflect more on how they behave and treat other people. I assure you, doing this will save others, the fandom, and, more importantly, it will save yourself a whole hell of a lot of unnecessary distress.

It's not that hard. Be better.

-> Starting off, y'all's hobbies match up really well! You both play sports, and he already has quite a bit of background in painting because of his mother! He loves being able to practice with you, even if you don't play the same sport.       I'm gonna limit myself to two experiences or this post would reach alarming lengths and those are gonna be based on my past experiences in bad fandoms, since rping here has been a DREAM.

      One of my biggest pet peeves is being approached with smut outright, on ANY muse, as a first interaction.

      I am an extremely anxious being and I need a lot of ooc communication to enstabilish a romance, let alone smut, and having our first approach being porn launched at me like a shuriken is going to make me nervous as fuck, not to mention that my muse will probably not reply the way you think they will.

      Also, speaking of pet peeves: if you're not okay with a thing i'm doing, a side of my portrayal for Sampo, something I said oocly or anything else, my IMs are always open for a chat and, no matter if you think a request will be weird, i'll do my best to listen and find a solution that helps both of us.

      However, i will put my foot down on a thing: I don't tolerate passive-aggressiveness that blends the borders of ooc and ic. If you'd rather let your attitude towards other muns negatively bleed into your portrayal towards their muse(s) than address the issue, I'd rather we don't interact at ALL. This is not a power play i'm willing to entertain, and i firmly believe that anyone who engages in this has either a kink for getting yelled at or lacks the maturity needed for essential ooc communication.

I'm genuinely at a loss for what exactly to do here. I've told off one of the accounts, said that I don't think people should be sending you all stuff about Casca, and with this post I've outright said I think you're a shitty person for sending anon hate and that if you're a TERF you should die. I'd be surprised if this is someone I'm fandom friends with, which leads me to...

Part Four:

My "extremely aggressive and homophobic audience" is gonna be pretty fucken upset when they find out I'm a lesbian who has only ever written femslash, griffgutsca, and casca-centric genfic for the fandom, and who frequently posts about BL and GL and other gay shit generally. My fandom friends, much like yours, are vast majority queer women.

As a side note, part of what's got me heated was the multiple positive interactions I had with, yes, people in your server during the Berserk Pride Fest, and then to see them turn around and be vicious towards me really sucked. I told your server owner that when she DM'd me - not mentioning her account because I don't wanna drag anyone else into this.

Maybe whoever is doing this is a follower of mine - if they are, I don't want them to be. Maybe whoever this is was just waiting for an excuse to target you and this whole situation was just what they were hoping for. I'll say again: I do not support anyone harassing you.

I know it's possible for a queer person to cultivate an anti-queer audience, or a woman a misogynistic audience, or whatever, but I have not done that lol. My fandom engagement is all informed by my lesbianism - I'm honestly pretty annoying about it. If homophobes follow me, that's a bug, not a feature, and they should know I hate them.
