Long wyrms with tough, rubbery skin that holds tons of glowing interiors. They're unexpected and odd creatures that appear to be drawn to imminent chaos and dark energy surges soon to occur in the weird places they're found.

This is another redraw of... this thing! From 2019! Back then it was simply called a "Freak Dragon" and if I'm not mistaken it's based on... something from Jungle Beat which I believe I was playing at the time? Idk. It's here now. Enjoy.

Daily Dragon #326 - Dragonquin

I've done Mario dragons, I've done Sonic dragons. So I feel like I have to do something for my 3rd platforming all-timer: Ty the Tasmanian Tiger! So here's the Dragonquin from Ty 3! The quinkan have GREAT designs so I'm glad to draw one!

Wanted to do a dragon from Ty for a bit but wasn't really sure what qualified as a dragon from the series... The bunyip powerup from the first game? An Uber Frill? The Quinking (what I would probably have done). I had COMPLETELY forgotten there was a straight up Dragon boss lol

I have a few plants, I bake quite a bit (I make BOMB brownies), I'm very much a nerd lol, I love comics (fandom request gave that away tho), I play dnd, I love video games (rdr2, mk11 and mass effect are the current ones), I watch cartoons and build legos, and I'm learning how to draw.

I'm big into flowers and flower language, and I play guitar, alto saxophone, steal drum, and I have a violin I'm gonna start working on soon.

This turned out alot longer then I thought so the speedrun of the rest is although I dont often, I really like putting work into how I look (I just got a treble cleft claw clip with some dangly thingys and I like it I just wanted to mention that), no clue how to to makeup tho, I'm planning on going into communications, and uhh my favorite colors are pink and blue.

I do also wonder what even started the beings picking people to make deals with, since rn it seems like Cyan was the first to make a deal, with Red and Magenta following far behind (Red being second and Magenta just slamming accelerate and being third and fourth). Im also expecting someone to mention how Deedee suddenly has colored eyes too, im surprised no one has questioned it yet (probably just haven't had time to ask). Same with Scoob/Bugs, surprised neither has asked the other about it yet, seeing as they are most likely to understand what it means (i dont even think Deedee knows her eyes are different yet tbh, but i could see her connecting the dots and trying to dig deeper and trying to find more answers after noticing)

ALSO ALSO I JUST REALIZE NONE OF THE OTHER BEINGS BESIDES MAGENTA SPEAK ANOTHER LANGUAGE. I say that but we've only seen Cyan speak, but i have a feeling that Magenta only spoke that language specifically for Deedee (for what reason, idk yet actually. Maybe to make her feel special in a "I can only understand you through my unique power" way, or to chain her to her ballyhoo in a "If you lose your ballyhoo, you lose communication to me" way? It could also just be that Magenta CANT speak english for some reason or another.)

Also yeah that's a really good question!! Honestly, this update answered a bunch of questions but also opened SO many more. I do agree that this is one of my biggest questions too tbh, and actually now that you mention it I wonder that too!!!!! I went back to check before responding to this b/c I had the thought that maybe the eye color changes are more for the reader's sake than anything, but no yeah Mick's red eyes are specifically referenced and called out ASDFJKL; so yeah confirmed the eye colors Are happening that way. So yeah now I'm curious why no one has mentioned Dee's eyes yet? I def agree that I don't think she's realized anything has changed about herself yet, but maybe once things calm down a bit someone will ask her about it.

As for Bugs and Scoob... I get the sense that it's very possible they both already know what it means for each other, and that's why they haven't mentioned it. It's very possible they had some conversations during the timeskip about it, or otherwise they just have a sort of understanding. I do definitely want to see if this is talked about further, which I'm assuming it will be now that we're receiving so many more clues. I want to see how these puzzle pieces fit together, dammit!!!

YEAH THAT'S SOMETHING I WAS THINKING ABOUT!!! I think both of your theories definitely have some merit to them (and I think the former is especially interesting, because that implies so much about Magenta as a character), but I also wonder if it's possible that the beings, by default, speak that way, and it's only after you've made a pact with them that you can understand them perfectly. Though that doesn't really explain how and why the pacts are able to be made..... okay I'm gonna have to ruminate on this a bit more.

1. is it just me, or does it seem like persephone doesnt even like eros most of the time? like most of the panels with them she seems aggravated or annoyed with him, but they're apparently better friends than her with like, idk, any actual woman? like we could have had her friendships be with artemis, or athena, or hecate, or daphne, or literally any one else, not the overactive man child who literally got her blackout drunk and put into a stranger's car.

2. comics like hxp ficlets and punderworld also deal with same face/bodies, but they do a lot more with the designs to tell them apart. like PW persephone only wears greens or purples, hades only wears black and is more angular than the other men. ficlets makes sure they all have certain colors, different hairstyle, style of clothes, etc. LO only has color to tell anyone apart but even then they're all the same. youd think with her style she'd have fun designing other characters, but i guess not.

3. lo hades is deadass the ugliest person on cast so making every man just be him with a different coat of paint just making the cast uglier by default, while the women just being the same as persephone is just showing rachel's lack of skill and/or want to bother to draw outside her comfort zone (how is that a "flexible" style, exactly?). you cant even say its like adventure time where it has certain design features (ie. the simple faces and bodies) its just pure laziness.

In real life, probably the time I was at a laundromat in Italy and this guy wandered in with a beer, sat next to me and my male roommate, assumed we were a couple, and proceeded to give us bizarre life advice. I wish I could remember more of it, but it was so odd.

51. Are you a good liar? Hmm I’m okay at it I think, that is, I can convince people I’m serious when I’m actually joking. But I don’t like actually lying if it’s not just teasing someone.

Viperion! 

I wanted to make his outfit have more of a punk-ish aesthetic. (He ended up looking like Superboy from D.C...) I didn’t mind his original design, most of the boys hero costumes are good, but I didn’t think my Luka would choose that. 

In his original costume he has one yellow diamond, and the fangs on his mask as yellow. I wanted to take that yellow and add it more on the design. His over colors are a bit more green then greenish blue.

About the snake miraculous -

In the original order the snake miraculous was unused. They would only use it for worse case scenarios, The snake and Bunny miraculous was do not use unless end of world. 

When Fu destroyed the order a few order members tried to get to the snake miraculous but sadly ended up dying before they could reach it. 

When the miraculous ended up lost, Shockingly the snake miraculous never ended up with any villains', it ended up with gamblers. The gamblers would use it to win every bet, Master Fu got it back by winning it in a bet. (Yes he did cheat, he used the fox miraculous to do so.)

Carapace!

I don’t like his canon costume. It just doesn’t look like something Nino would choose you know. IDK it just doesn’t say Nino to me. 

In my redesign I wanted to pull a Cyber-Punk-ish type of clothes. I wanted it feel like cyberpunk D.J. I think I got it. He still has his hood I just didn’t want to draw it up. He has head phones/ a visor instead of goggles? I don’t like the goggles. I made his colors more sea green instead of dark greens, also no yellow/ red on the hood it just looks out of place on my design. My favorite part of the design is his boot.

About the Turtle miraculous-

The turtle miraculous was always used by the leader of the order. The leader was to protect everyone thus always deemed to be the Turtle user. The turtle miraculous is never to be in the front of battles, always in the back protecting people. The training for the turtle miraculous was the most painful and difficult. 

Master Fu was training to possibly be the next turtle user. (There was always at least 5 people training to be the miraculous users, so that if one person dies, there will be no time to worry.) Master Fu was not chosen to be the next turtle user, instead he was the runner up. This caused jealousy to form in him, allowing the slightly corrupted Peacock miraculous to feast on his jealousy and destroy the order. (Note it was the essence of the peacock powers not Duusu them self.)

The turtle user died in the fall, master Fu manage to get the turtle  miraculous before it could be lost. 

Sadly from the death of his real master, the loss of his family, and watching some of the horrid things Master Fu has done to get back the other miraculous has caused Wayzz to have  some corruption in him.

Ryuko!

Ryuko suffers from the every girl hero has the same body disease... Stupid. I don’t like her canon design like at all. Normally I do like asymmetric designs but hers... gross. Because other then the one leg, and the tail design everything on the design is symmetric, the gloves, the mask, the horns, even the feet designs on the bottom are the same! I don’t like it! Don’t get me started on her revealing her identity! In the Painted Lady that never fucking happened. Kagami should be smarter.

My design takes elements from different fencing outfits you find when you google fencing outfit. Ryuko has “3″ different outfits but in reality, the yellow colors will change base off what power she’s using or has last used, yellow is the default. The red in her outfit has a scale type of texture on it. Her pants are 2 toned, its only a gray and darker gray but I like the look. Once again the boots are my favorite part. 

Dragon Miraculous-

Before the ladybug was added to the front lane the dragon was the third in command. In reality it should have been the second in command but the core 7 take priority. Much like the Cat, the dragon miraculous was considered a evil miraculous by the order. Unlike the cat however it was considered a controlled evil.

During the fall, the daughter of the current dragon user had taken the dragon miraculous and fled after her mother’s death. After that the dragon miraculous was passed down from daughter to daughter in the family. Each daughter was a fighter in her generation, a pass user was Mulan.

Fu only got the Miraculous from the family by marrying into the family and taking the miraculous from his “wife” before fleeing into the night. The family thought he died and moved on.

Kagami is a descendant of this family. (Yes I know Kagami is japanese and Mulan is Chinese. But people can marry into other races.)

Kagami was stronger then both Ladybug and Master Fu realized. She was meant to be the dragon user.

Haha, this has already made its way into one of my ficlets. I am also writing love languages into my next chapter of Better Be Mine. I can’t let it go!! I don’t actually care about them as tool for my irl relationship but it’s so easily identifiable for Brio. So my headcanons here... 

Rio’s love languages: 

Rio prefers to receive love through Quality Time. 

Rio shows love through Physical Touch. 

Beth’s love languages:

Beth prefers to receive love through Words of Affirmation.

Beth shows love through Acts of Service

49. Do they have differing political opinions?

Lol, @sothischickshe I can’t believe you tagged me in this!!!! Stop reading into the underlying vibes of Beth/Rio conversations in my fics! 

So the short version of my response is: yes. 

Now the absurdly long response:

I think about Rio & Beth a lot. I think about them talking about politicized issues quite a bit and imagine them in conversation with each other, teasing their beliefs apart. I like picturing these conversations instigated by hard parenting moments, things in the news, and things that come up as they finally start saying more words to each other. I think Rio could also just directly ask Beth about her political beliefs (I can’t necessarily picture the reverse yet).  

I think Beth is definitely more conservative than Rio -- and that’s an assumption I make because Rio’s a Latinx guy who probably came up with lack of access to wealth, and Beth as a white woman in the suburbs who formerly perceived herself/her family as wealthy. 

Beth’s characterization is complicated -- sometimes it really leans into Karen stereotypes/white woman privilege (lol, I cannot believe they literally had her show up at Gil’s workplace. I CRINGE!) and other times her beliefs and actions positively surprise me. Personally, in my fic writing, I love leaning into an idea that Beth grew up more working class/experienced neglect from her parents. I don’t want to romanticize these experiences but trauma around financial insecurity & complicated family relationships personally resonates with me. Ugh, I love writing about it, and it’s something that I read in her childhood that I like to lean into. That flashback in Season 2 really humanized Beth for me and it really made me love her. 

Okay, that was a major digression about class, but her life experience must lend itself to her political beliefs. She married into a wealthier family -- a family that owned it’s own business, was financially stable and just... a family perpetuating all the harmful effects of white heterosexuality and problematic gendered labor. And she conformed to it! Beth diminished herself to make herself fit there, to find safety and stability, to feel worth. So, I think her politics as an adult are also “safe” and probably echo the popular moderate trends in normative, toxic parent groups. Honestly, irl as a queer WOC who is anti-capitalist and been forced to be political for my own self-preservation and preservation of folks I love, I would not seek out PTA Beth’s friendship for multiple reasons, but I still have such a soft spot for Beth as a character?

That being said, Beth in the context of Annie & Ruby is obviously a different Beth. She loosens up in these spaces, she speaks her mind much more freely and in these scenes she comes as a normal, relatable human and she’s funny and prim and awkward. I think she comes across as somewhat liberal but not particularly educated on the issues/progressive (as is the way most characters are characterized on network TV). In this vein, she throws around a lot of white privilege and because some of it has gone un-interrogated in the context of the show... I’m not sure how intentional these vibes are or if it’s just par the course of it being white-owned network TV. Obviously characters are allowed to make mistakes and do shitty things, but I wish there was more on-screen acknowledgement of race in the show, and more intentional naming of things. In regards to Ruby + Beth in particular, I feel like an American white woman can’t have a life-long/multi-decade friendship with a Black woman and not be intentional about acknowledging racism/the specific misogynoir that Black women face. But the show hasn’t really acknowledged this aspect of Ruby + Beth’s friendship... 

*stares at the camera like I’m on The Office* 

It would be such a rich opportunity to discuss the challenges of interracial friendship if done well. Also, what an opportunity to delve into what it’s like to maintain friendships across the years (um, it’s hard!!! Even with people you love so much! Tell us more about Beth & Ruby’s ups and downs!). Beth and Ruby care about each other so much. When they and Annie get friendship beats -- I cry! Just make it make more sense! If the show filled in these blanks, it would be so great. Beth is obviously awakening~ definitely so in regards to her gender and her power and it could shift her political opinions? The show definitely poked a little fun at her crime “wokeness” by having her push back on cultural appropriation with those other PTA parents. Just by the exposure of her own relationships, Beth has experience with the lack of American safety net, our terrible, impoverishing health-care system, and inaccessibility of higher education. 

So, on one hand the show tries to do a thing where they equalize and don’t name race in the context of the three leads, “they’re three women”, but then they play on racial tropes with Beth and Rio’s relationship... I would like for their interracial relationship to be more overtly discussed/acknowledged outside of Rio’s somewhat performative call outs of Beth’s white lady fragility. 

So anyway -- Rio’s politics. We don’t know a ton about Rio so we don’t have too much textual evidence to go off of. But, we do know that Rio picks at Beth’s facade of white women fragility all the time -- sometimes with more hostility and other times simply teasing. When I write him, I give him my own experiences of having to become well-versed discussing politicized issues by the default of growing up experiencing racism and xenophobia. Rio, like any Mexican-reading man, has probably been told to “go back to his country” throughout his life -- and I can’t imagine it not politicizing him... Though, conservative Latinx exist and constantly shock me with their assimilationist audacity. *stares at the camera like I’m on the office again* But, idk, it’s something about their characterization of him of being so worldly~~ I imagine him being informed and up-to-date on the American news. I want him throwing around his power and $$$ by donating to local, progressive candidates of color. But, this is all projection~ :-) 

Ha, I feel like this was too critical of my forever otp (and on ship day to boot)!! And of Beth. The show has a habit of putting Beth through the physical and psychological wringer, and what I want instead is for our baby to be out of harm’s way, financially stable, divorced and independent, and also forced to interrogate the more harmful ways she deploys her whiteness. Lol, no one would watch my show. I know. 

I love Beth & Rio. They thrill me. And like many others in the fandom,  I often want to remove them from the GG canon and make them have harder/real/necessary conversations -- and generally converse about anything/everything because they barely do that on screen. I love the drama of their scenes, but my happy place is skipping a year ahead and building headcanons about what they could look like in actual relationship with each other... and one of these daydreams is Rio pushing Beth on her politics. I’m in an interracial relationship with a white woman myself -- and one of the things I love is endlessly discussing political issues and processing and growing together, and I like transplanting that to Brio in my fic perhaps too much, and it makes them OOC in my writing at times. 

Okay!!! This got long again. Thanks for tangling with this if you’ve gotten this far. There were a lot of assertions up there and I’m happy to unpack something further (but, thats at your own risk y’know. Clearly I don’t know when to stop when it comes to writing these ridiculously long posts).

Is it for school or just because you want to read? It’s because I do want to read it and because I like Twilight hehe. I’m not in school.

Are you going to any concerts in the future that you know of? I’m just waiting for my third Paramore show, whenever that is; but otherwise no and I have no clue who or when the first post-Covid concert is going to be.

Do you play any instruments? No. I can play some tunes on the piano but it’s cheating and I don’t count it, because I’ve only memorized which keys to press and I don’t actually know how to read notes or use the proper fingering.

Are you looking forward to the new Alice in Wonderland movie? This question is so cute considering it’s been a literal decade since that movie came out...anyway, no, I didn’t look forward to it as I’m not a fan of the genre.

Do you get seasick? I do but I can handle my stomach for the most part. The only time it got really bad was during my cruise, and the only reason I didn’t throw up was my dad has a cabin at the bottom floor of the ship, where the shaking was a lot weaker.

What's the longest you've ever gone without speaking? Maybe during my dark days in 6th grade? I was super depressed, had no friends, had a strained relationship with my entire famly, and was holed up in my room all day long. It’s very possible I went several days without talking then.

(sorry it's about the mcu) It's always interesting to me that in the beginning of the films, the twins were not just eastern european but also heavily coded as romani, but as the movies went on, wanda became less and less "eastern european" and more americanized to the point that her next appearance is slated in a classic staple of american pop culture (a fifties tv show). it's been said before but wanda is like a new character each time she appears, and that's not said in a kind manner.

I feel like the MCU is about to become an unavoidable subject because… well, not to stomp on anyone’s fun, but I heard the Jaws theme song when I saw this. I have stuff to say about this subject that I don’t think anyone else has touched on yet and it’s the middle of the night and my sleep pattern is ruined.

There seems to be two things going on with MCU Wanda’s ever-changing everything: 1) No one was especially on-board with Whedon’s ideas and more broadly, no one can agree on who this character is supposed to be. 2) The post-Ultron movies have tried to mold the character to fit the actress better.

The latter is easy enough to explain. The very dark hair in Ultron didn’t suit her, and red is a better fit for her natural coloring. There’s a reason red hair and green eyes is such an iconique combination. They ditched the accent because, well, she’s no good at it. I think the changing wardrobe is partly this and partly an attempt to show character evolution.

The former reason, though, is where we can get into the weeds. Age of Ultron was a troubled production. One of the sticking points between Whedon and the studio was the dream/nightmare/mind control sequences, which the writer-director was attached to and which executives hated. Not a shock that they haven’t reappeared since. That the telepathic powers as a whole vanished is more curious, but I feel like the Russos, Markus, and McFeely don’t care about Whedon’s version of Wanda. They weren’t involved, and they don’t like it.

There was more back and forth with the accents than people remember. In 2013, The Wrap reiterated an earlier rumor that the twins would have British accents in the MCU. At first glance, that’s jarring, but sometimes, people who aren’t from Britain have British accents. It’s not my favorite choice for these characters, but it happens. Aaron Taylor-Johnson said he was the one who pushed for the Eastern European accents and for Pietro to have his white/silver hair (originally it was supposed to be brown). But he wasn’t sure, even while filming, if they were going to leave the accents in or ADR over all their dialogue. Once he was gone, there was no one to advocate for the inclusion of the accents, so everyone said, “Fuck it. She learned to talk with a US accent.”

There’s also the parts of their backstory that were cut, supposedly for time. Namely their Romani background (which seems to have been in the script) and any specific references to the US military being the ones to bomb their apartment building (something we can figure out from interviews and from context). Both things that were either already causing controversy or could have caused controversy, which were cut “for time” and for no other reason. Totally. Definitely. I suspect the later movies don’t pick up those threads for the same reason they drop the telepathy stuff. They’re not anything M&M and the Russos care about, and their stance is, “We don’t want to get into that.”

And then... there’s the Hydra backstory, which fits into the same category of “a thing that was dropped and it’s not hard to figure out why.” I have no clue what Whedon was thinking when he did that, and I don’t know how any future writer could incorporate it without doing an outright retcon. That wouldn’t be hard since there’s a reason most people thought those characters were held captive. The cinematic language in the Cap 2 end credits scene is at odds with what Whedon was trying to convey. When you have characters in cages looking drugged (complete with injection sites), what am I supposed to think?* “Wow, spooky”?Probably. Whatever he was going for, it didn’t work, and who is surprised that it was ignored? They should have fixed it, but this is another case of the later writers and directors looking at what Whedon did and not even caring enough to either acknowledge or contradict it.

That’s the theme here. That Markus, McFeely, and the Russos didn’t care about what Whedon did, but that they also didn’t replace it with anything. The stuff they did with Wanda was all plot-essential. Somebody’s gotta cause the superhero civil war, and guess who’s the easy choice. Somebody’s gotta care when Vision dies, and guess who’s the easy choice. You get where they’re coming from. They have 375 characters to worry about, and she’s not one of the popular ones. The end result is a character who isn’t really anything.

Even within his own movies, the characters Whedon was allowed to introduce into the MCU are half-baked. What if Vision was Adam Warlock? What if The Colonel meets Jean Grey? What if Quicksilver only existed to die? It’s a lot of stealing from various sources without thinking through the meaning and significance of what you’re stealing. James Gunn gives zero fucks about adhering to comics canon, but at least, he has concrete notions of who his versions of the characters are. They may not be what I wanted (#JusticeForMantis), but they’re cohesive entities on their own. Can you say that for Ms. “Let’s join Hydra and kill random South Africans and oh no, I’m scared of fighting”?

Lastly, the 1950’s housewife thing is more about the extremes of character interpretation. Whedon focused on Wanda’s past as part of the Brotherhood and used Ultron and – for fuck’s sake – Hydra as stand-ins for that (while ignoring that Wanda’s time in the Brotherhood was defined by the abuse she suffered and not by random murders she committed by mind controlling the Hulk). To quoth the man himself, “They’re interesting to me because they sort of represent the part of the world that wouldn’t necessarily agree with The Avengers.” He envisioned them as the kind of Radicals With a Point that superhero films love, but his execution didn’t match his vision. (Maybe it was better in the script, idk.)

In creating that godforsaken tv show, Feige is leaning on the perception of Wanda as a conservative figure. That idea comes from the fact that so much of her story is wrapped up in family and babies and sexist stereotypes. It feels mismatched with the former. (Not denying the realities of human complexity, just saying you should have a clearer vision for a made up person.) We’ll have to see how it plays out, but it seems like a case of no one agreeing on what this character believes or how she views the world. Or maybe it was Nightmare/Chthon/Mojo all along. Lotta maybes going on.

Anyway, the Americanization issue comes down to treating your own culture and worldview as default and trying to work around miscasting, and the overall issue is that you shouldn’t make characters who only exist to be sites of tragedy.

*They also look drugged at the beginning of Age of Ultron, when they’re with Hydra, and at no other point. Does Whedon associate that aesthetic with menace/villainy? (If so, yikes!!) Additionally, I’m gonna leave this here with the reminder that it is from the same movie.

100 great things about megamind

basically i just watched megamind and wrote down everything that made me go “hey that’s good”

1. The opening monologue slaps I literally do not care about your “cliches” it’s GOOD

2. “8 days old and still living with my parents...pathetic right?”

3. The idea that Megamind is inherently good since his origin story should have been his dad saying he’s destined for “greatness” but the greatness got cut off uwu

4. Literally just the fact that Megamind was about to go to the Rich Nice House and his destiny changed at the last second,,,everything about this movie makes it a cinematic masterpiece

15. The twist on “damsel in distress” where yeah the girl gets kidnapped but she is so not distressed and has the intellectual power in the situation as she roasts Megamind at every turn and he can’t combat anything she says

21. When Highway to Hell kicks in with the lasers and Megamind dancing at the police,,,,,this is nothing short of priceless

50. Tropes in this movie in general are so fun. This isn’t some uninspired genre parody. They don’t just subvert tropes in the exact way that you’d expect. I feel like the way that this movie plays with the superhero genre often feels unique and creative

Some people look down upon following structure to a T, but sometimes it’s satisfying when a movie perfectly follows structure and this movie’s structure is flawless

55. “Good luck on your date” “I will” “That doesn’t even make any sense” “I know”

56. Right after fighting w Minion when Megamind looks in a cracked mirror and frowns at his reflection but then changes into someone else, into Bernard, and then smiles? THE CINNAMON TOGROPHY, THE STORYTELLING

When Hal is just an incel whose feeling of entitlement is framed as disgusting and he’s not supposed to be sympathetic and Roxanne’s rejection of him is not framed as evil but rather completely justified? VERY epic of them, this movie would have SMASHED the pop culture scene if it came out today

58. The GRAVITY of the part when Roxanne accidentally reveals Megamind in the restaurant is so powerful that I can STILL barely watch it even though I’ve seen it so many times

59. The part that immediately follows where Roxanne shuts down Megamind is SO well done. Roxanne is giving out some harsh words to our dear protagonist, but she is not framed as the bad guy. The great thing about this scene is that they let Roxanne call out Megamind on how he’s been a jerk and she gets to be RIGHT. How very cash money of them! The emotion here isn’t anger at Roxanne because she’s ~being mean~ to Megamind. It’s a sting over the fact that she’s right, and the heartbreak over the dramatic irony of us knowing that Megamind is becoming a better person and Roxanne having no idea. Now Megamind is left with a decision that will show who he truly is on the inside: he could either retreat back into safe, evil ways for the rest of time because it’s easier to be bad because then no one expects anything from him and rejection is easier to handle, or he could ultimately choose to grow from this and recognize how he was wrong and how he has to change. The execution of this midpoint is exemplary.

2011. The water looks like galaxy shit bc they’re space pirates. so the water is space. do you get it? real boats don’t need anyone to steer it’s fine. The fucker in the orange and black is @fiddlezips​‘ idiot and the other dude is mine.

2012. tfw you drew Anime Cat Girl Nyaaa for the memes and it’s actually the best thing you drew that year. ngl I still dig the lighting on this one. check out that default photoshop grass brush though, that is some high brow shit.

2013. what if I used white lineart instead of black, wouldn’t that look neat? it sure would. kinda still want this lady to step on me.

2014. I’d like to say I have an explanation for this but I don’t. yes that’s the same idiot from the 2011 one, he has unfortunate staying power. he’s a. mage? who is too cool to walk now? I forget. I spent a lot of time on his makeup and you better look at it.

2015. I drew a deity from a friend’s long-running project, my good pal Tenor (whom I don’t think is on tumblr anymore but correct me if I’m wrong) and their Iotera universe. This is Bataashi, a shapeshifter who always looks incredible regardless of form, probably. v purple and sparkle.

2016. A fan character for the same project as 2015, a member of their plant-people species called Laies. Why did I do the thing with half of her hair being leaves? Because I hate myself and like to suffer is why.

2017. Again this same project, these 3 being the main characters of the comic Tenor was working on at the time. Those borders were fun in their own hellish way.

2018. I drew so fuckin little that year that this chibi (of a character belonging to @toranekohybrid​ and yet another species of Tenor’s) from ArtFight last year is the best I got. That said, I do still like the hair. I kinda wanna touch it.

2019. Hey look it’s Sailor Moon. This was the first Nice, Finished digital piece I had done in a really long time and it felt good. It’s from the beginning of this year but yknow what? It’s more than I did the year before and that matters.
