It's not the job of the theatre to tackle difficult topics?!?!? Guess that explains why HCT has been staging the blandest musicals to ever bland for the past few years ajlgsähksälfsä

#idk i could be misunderstanding something but. i very much think it's a main job of theatre to actively provoke people to think #and 'educate' them #ofc there's nuances like obviously its not the job of the theatre to present factual information and statistics idk maybe he meant that too #but idk i think the theatre does not solely exist for feeling cozy and empowered #and re the empowerment: if we take a cliche example of an 'empowerment musical' like six #that's written to be thought-provoking too!!!! granted it's a rather basic level but it's a lot about media representations of women #of course it could do More but it does really reinterpret what it's portraying and could potentially discomfort the viewer #suomi #musicals #theatre
