Red Girl meets Netflix!Xiaotian and it is on sight.
Xiaotian: "Hello-"
Red Girl, hair sparking furiously: "WANNA GET MARRIED!?"
Xiaotian, tail swishing eagerly back and forth: "OKAY!"
Love at first sight, they get married within a week and are super happy.
The LMK gang get word of it and are just shocked and delighted. Netflix!SWK was the one who had to clear up some details.
Netflix!SWK, sharing the wedding photos: "So yeah, once our Xiaotian reached kid-age, him and Red Girl finally met and they literally both declared that they'd get married as soon as possible. Couldn't keep them apart." MK: "Wow! That was fast!" Red Son: "Yeah, it took me at least a few weeks of self-loathing and internal conflict before I realised I wanted to marry you." MK: "Oh for me it was on sight. I just wanted to hit the one year mark before we settled down." Red Son: "Wait... you mean when you landed on me when I stole your father's staff??" MK, honestly: "Yeah. I saw a cute, smart, red-head demon nerd with a robot arm. Wedding bells on sight." Red Son: *blushes furiously as hair begins sparking too*

LMKtober Prompt: Noodles
Sorry I'm posting this so late in the day, I had trouble figuring out what I was going to draw.
My first thought was some domestic freenoodles (I briefly mused over some spicynoodles but eventually decided against it.) Finally, I settled on just drawing Tang but then I realized... I don't know how to draw. I considered writing something but knowing me, I wouldn't be able to write anything I was happy with in a single day. So I decided something was better than nothing and was just going to draw a bowl of noodles, and then, talking to my girlfriend, I got struck with the inspiration I needed to add more and now we found our way back to my original idea of freenoodles!
The prompt list I'm going by was created by @/gillanfryingpan.

Spicynoodles Tangled AU chapter 3
Summary: more angst, Iron Fan and DBK learn their son wasn't found.
Word count: 2.4k
Warnings: I humbly deliver to you dear readers, some salt for that wound I gave you last time. Mentions of murder, injuries and kidnapping.
A/N: Sorry this took so long, I got stuck on the beginning and how to have Iron Fan and DBK react(extra big thanks to @py-dreamer for their help with that!), and then I got busy with school so I just put it off for a while.

____________________________________________________________________________________________
Iron Fan was slumped in her chair, gazing blankly out the window.
His love hardly acknowledged the doctors leaving the room, having done all they could to mend the wounds Mihou had suffered.
His brother lay unconscious in the bed, most of his face was wrapped in bandages. He was going to live, the doctors were certain of that, but he would likely lose vision in his right eye and have a nasty scar. He should be waking up sometime tomorrow.
DBK maneuvered around his brother's bed quietly, settling by his Queen's side. He silently offered her his hand, looking out the window at their Kingdom alight below.
Word travels fast, and events like these would always get out with a startling speed. Their people were out searching or helping the searching soldiers in whatever way they could.
It would all be fine in a few days, Wukong would return from the rescue mission soon.
He would have their son. He had to.
His love took his burnt hand.
“I have contacted my mother…” she said after a long moment of silence.
Iron Fan rarely referred to the Queen of Heaven as her mother, up until recently they were hardly acknowledging each other. If someone had told him two years ago that his love would seek out her mother for help, he would have been convinced that person was insane.
Two years ago that situation was insane.
Things had slowly snowballed since he had been allowed to take the Samadhi Flower.
He was certain calling on her mother was extremely hard for his love to do, but the fact that she was able to entertain the idea without going into a whirlwind rage was telling.
This odd little truce didn't fix the major problems that broke their relationship, not at all, they were just seeing each other in a different light now, at least that's what he gathered.
“ … she said she will send a sign when she finds something…” Iron Fan finally said.
He nodded silently to her.
They sat together and watched the night slowly inch past, waiting for a sign.
Shortly after dawn, the skies opened up.
Heavy rains poured down from the heavens.
Lightning crackled in the chaotic, tumultuous sky.
The grief and wrath of a goddess.
Iron Fan said nothing, she calmly stood up and left the room in a swirl of wind.
DBK looked down at his scarred, burnt hands. Hands that brought down great armies and cities alike, hands that tamed mountains, hands that harvested the power of a goddess, hands that were trembling.
He shook with rage.
This should not happen, it should not have been possible!
His son, his joy, the precious, perfect child that he risked and sacrificed so much for to bring into his world couldn't be gone…
What a shameful king he was.
He couldn't even protect his own son.
XXX
Iron Fan slammed the door behind her, locking it shut.
She stumbled to the bedside, grabbing the bed covers to ground herself.
She forced herself to breathe slowly. She could stop the tears, she could keep control of herself in the midst of this horrible moment.
No…
She couldn't.
Her fan clattered to the floor, an anguished scream ripped itself from her throat.
As the wind whipped into a frenzy around her, all she saw was the empty crib she had laid her son to sleep the previous night.
XXX
Hours later, there was a soft knock on the door. Iron Fan slowly rose from the chair she had collapsed in.
The room was damaged, from the previous night's conflict -someone needed to clean Mihou's blood off the walls- and her own actions, she would feel something about that later, all she felt now was pain. She picked her fan up from the floor and opened the door.
Her love stood in the doorway with a saddened expression and deep pain hidden in his eyes.
She wanted nothing more than to pull him into the room and ignore the world and their responsibilities for a few hours. She wanted to grieve in private.
“Sun Wukong has returned.” he said somberly.
If the Queen of Heaven couldn't find our son, what luck did a monkey have? She thought.
He could possibly have a lead, she couldn't get her hopes up. DBK silently offered his hand, she took her husband’s hand.
XXX
Iron Fan watched Sun Wukong as he approached them, Ao Lie at his side. He was cradling something in his arms, it was covered by a blanket.
He stopped just short of the entrance, still standing in the storm, hanging his head in shame.
“I… I didn't get there fast enough… I'm sorry dà gē… I've failed you…” he choked out.
The golden furred monkey stank of blood and death.
“Did you find anything?” DBK asked almost desperately.
Wukong flicked part of the blanket down with his tail, revealing a pale skinned, dark furred demon monkey curled in his arms.
The monkey was so peaceful, they could easily be mistaken for being asleep, yet their ears lacked any glow.
DBK leaned closer to inspect the body closer, Wukong pulled away, cradling the body closer to him with a soft, protective sound that was between a growl and a whimper. He stepped back, he knew how protective demon monkeys got about their vulnerable and dead.
“Who are they?” The King asked.
“Laohu, they were that witch's prisoner!” the golden monkey spat.
“They tried to stop her…” the rest didn't need to be said.
Ao Lie quietly ordered for some of his sworn brother’s subjects to collect and tend to the body. The demon would certainly be remembered by the people for trying to save their young prince and paying with their life.
A tiny squeak disrupted the somber atmosphere when Wukong tried to pass the body to his people.
A small cub, her dark fur streaked with pale blue like her parent, wriggled out of the dragon prince’s grip, leaping over to the body with a sad chirp.
The cub was moving too quickly for either King or Queen to get a good look at her.
Wukong managed to get the cub under control, the little thing cried as her parent was being taken from her, waving her little limbs around wildly.
Her single set of ears wiggled unhappily with her fussing, ears that held an icy cold blue glow, nearly identical to the Lady Bone Demon's magic.
Wukong held the cub against his chest, chirping softly for her to settle down while staring them down, daring them to question him about the cub he was trying to soothe.
“Bai He is Laohu's daughter.” He told them with an insistence that meant he wouldn't address the obvious signs of the cub's parentage.
Iron Fan glared at the witch’s spawn.
“If that is all, I'll leave you to attend to that, cub.” she spat, whisking herself and her husband away before the monkey king could say anything.
She wanted to scream. Her son, her only child, was gone, stolen by the witch she'd allowed into her own court. She practically handed Red Son over to that witch herself.
She saw the empty crib and her brother's blood splattered on the wall.
Her love’s burnt hand cupped her cheek, gently coaxing her head to turn, pulling her gaze from the crime scene in their bedroom.
Light orange meet burnt magenta, both King and Queen cracked, sinking to the floor in each other's arms, mourning the loss of their son.
XXX
Mihou woke up slowly.
He stayed in a dazy half awake fog for a while, falling back in and out of conciseness.
He had a massive headache.
He still felt the impact’s vibration in his skull, his ears still rung from it.
Gods, that ringing is getting annoying. He groaned.
Light was coming from somewhere, he blinked open his eyes, half his vision stayed swathed in darkness.
He saw his sun before anything else.
Tears stung his eyes, when the staff came down on his head, he really thought he was going to die.
“Hey Peaches.” He croaked weakly.
His sunshine startled, turning away from the window. His crimson red eyes melted with relief. His mate quickly took his cold hand into his warm ones, scouting closer.
“Hey Mango.” He whispered, kissing his hand gently.
Mihou closed his eyes, leaning back to bask in the comforting warmth of his mate.
“Mihou.” Wukong said, still speaking softly.
“Yeah Peaches?” He mumbled.
“I have some bad news… you need to hear it before anyone visits. Do you think you can handle it?” He asked quietly.
Mihou looked at his mate, Wukong was a mess, his fur hadn't been groomed in days, he was pulling on it again, he had deep bags under his red eyes, even the gold in his eyes had a red tint to it, like he'd been crying uncontrollably or used his beam eyes again. Maybe both. He wasn't in his battle armor, or any armor, he had a green cape wrapped around him like a sling,  Mihou knew that didn't belong to him.
“What happened?” He asked shakily.
Wukong looked away, unable to meet his gaze as he prepared to deliver whatever news he'd been dealing with.
“You won't be able to see out of your right eye ever again… the eye is dead, it was too damaged, the healers say it won't ever work again… and you will have a scar.” He said heavily.
“That's it though, right…? that's all that went wrong… right?” Mihou asked, praying that the worst was what happened to him.
“We searched her lair and-” his mate broke off as something in the green cape he had stirred.
A small, fluffy head popped out of the cape-sling, the little monkey cup whined, bumping Wukong's shoulder with her head. A single pair of delicate lotus shaped ears fluttered unhappily, ears that were colored a freezing cold blue.
He stared at the striped cub, tears burned his eyes.
If that cub is… then that means the witch imprisoned one of my people… she…
“She didn't.” was all he could say.
His mate’s look of anger and devastation spoke more than any words he could have said.
“Wukong… tell me she didn't… please…” he begged, pleading that none of this was true and he was just having some sort of horrible nightmare.
His mate looped their tails together, intertwining them tightly. He looked his mate in the eyes, there couldn't be more? What more could be worse than what was sitting in front of him right now?
“We… I lost Red Son… I didn't get there in time, she was long gone… I failed them…”
He stared at his defeated mate in disbelief.
No. Not that! She can't have gotten away with it! His mind screamed.
He pulled his hands to his face, covering his eyes, he could feel the bandage covering half his face. Wukong moved closer to him, silently offering to hold him. He leaned away from his mate, he didn't want to be touched right now.
“I'm so sorry Mihou… for everything…” Wukong said weakly.
Mihou didn't feel any sting from his wounds as he sobbed.
XXX
Iron Fan glanced over when she heard a sound coming from her brother's bed.
Mihou had reacted poorly to the news, as she'd expected. He'd shut down and cried himself into unconsciousness, the news was too much for him to handle in his state.
She sent for Shoi-Ming, the dragon had been worried sick since learning what happened to him.
Sun Wukong had wisely decided to remove that thing he was calling a cub from Mihou's recovery room until he was more stable.
She leaned over to her brother's bedside, resting her hand on his arm. He jolted, fur bristling as his head snapped to her, shadows coiled around his arms, flickering like fire.
Iron Fan realized her mistake, she approached from his right side, his blind side, the side he'd never see from again because of that witch.
“Jiě jie…?” he asked, confusion flooding his gaze.
“Mihou… I didn't mean to frighten you.” She told him.
The shadows calmed down, settling into a pool of darkness around her little brother. His fur settled down, still more puffed up than it had been before she startled him. He looked at her, tears brimming in his eye.
“…i'm sorry…”
“Oh Mihou…” She pulled her little brother into a tight hug.
He grabbed onto her, claws digging into her clothes, like when they were young and he clung to her in an attempt to keep himself grounded in the present.
“I'm sorry I couldn't- I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry.” Mihou sobbed, repeating himself like a broken record.
Iron Fan held onto her brother, gently running her fingers through his thick black mane, pulling out the knots that had accumulated.
Red Son's hair got so tangled, there was so much of it and it was so long. She would sit her son down at the beginning and end of each day to comb through it with her own hands, she found it was the best way to tackle the problems-
Mihou’s hand brushed away the tears on her face.
She blinked, more fell.
“Jiě jie…” Mihou said sadly.
Iron Fan gripped her brother tightly, feeling his tail wrap around her arm as they cried together.
XXX
Red Son looked over at his mother.
She was across the room.
He wanted her attention.
He mooed to let her know what he wanted.
She didn't come to him.
He mooed again.
Still, she didn't come.
He frowned, pushing himself up. He wanted to get to her faster.
He grabbed the table next to him and pulled himself up.
With wobbly legs, he started moving towards her.
The table didn't go the full way. He really wanted Mother.
He let go of the table and walked across the floor to Mother. He tugged on her clothes and mooed again.
This time, she did give him her attention. She smiled at him, reaching down and patting his head.
“Look at you, walking already.” She said sweetly.
He beamed up at his mother, politely motioning for uppies. She laughed brightly as she picked him up.
He clapped happily, snuggling closer to her.
“You did very well, my son.” Mother said proudly, stroking his head softly.

Monkie Kid x Ninjago AU
Because why settle for one favorite Lego cartoon when you could have 3 2! (o7 Legend of Chima)
The focus is on Traffic Light Trio (or Chimera Shipping, Dragonfruit Shipping + MK, or Spicynoodles Shipping + Mei; completely uty interpretation) in the world of Ninjago, specifically my personal favorite season: The Tournament of Elements. Lots of hijinks (or Monkeying Around). There’s also potential for two B Plots, one in which the Masters of Shadow go toe to toe in the early hours of the main story (read: Shade gets his ass kicked by Macaque) and then the main three get a bit of an audience (who is just generally unhelpful as usual). The other B Plot is back in the normal world in which the Parents of the group (SWK, Pigsy, Tang, Sandy) and Bai He realize that MK, Mei, Red Son, and Macaque are all missing then start trying to figure out what happened.
I’m not very good at sustaining a writing mood long enough to write a fic but if someone wants to use the concepts for their own work, please go for it!!!! All I ask is that you drop me a link so I can read along :)
Non S4 compliant (but I’m not sure if anything that happens during it really changes anything??? Just to be safe)
Before getting into it, I’ll be going by the idea that Traffic Light Trio are all biologically 17 (give or take). Red is obviously way way older than that but I want them to be close to the Ninja’s ages so it’s less 17 yo Kai talking to the way more immature 21 yo MK.
So! Plot! Yeah!
Exposition on the concept of other worlds/dimensions adjacent to one’s own (supported by the existence of the Celestial Realm and the underworld), likely being mentioned by Mr. Tang. Probably mentioned other realms/dimensions/worlds connected to JTTW and Ninjago + the Traveller’s Tree/Tea. MK’s curiosity is piqued and he’s really curious about the whole idea of other worlds as a happy young adult who never A) watched The Lego Movie(s), B) Played Lego Dimensions or Disney Infinity, and C) witnessed the UTMV. Sillies aside he and Mei go off to go try and find Red Son who they know can successfully cross worlds with his powers.
When they do find Red Son, he’s in a pretty bad mood (or at least one that’s mildly worse than usual) on account of a large reptile stunk up his current/temp workshop in the city and left its shedding inside. If they try to ask for him to do it then, he’ll definitely wave them off and say he’s too busy which leads into all three of them looking for the snake.
They find it at that exit from SQ’s lair that MK first met LBD inside of. Trauma that gets immediately suppressed??? Angst with immediate comfort from supportive friends??? Nice. Regardless, they find pieces of shedding and tracks that lead them to the conclusion that the reptile is a serpent and has yet to come back. The huge snake comes back then and starts chasing them down the tunnel but there’s no end in sight. Slowly the tunnel starts changing from sewer system to catacomb and when Tradfic Light Trio does emerge, they’re not in their city or their world anymore. Instead they’re in the underground area of Chen’s Island and face to face with Clouse.
While the trio is reasonably confused and alarmed, Clouse gets on his gaslighting. The rundown is essentially that Chen + Clouse found a spell in the spell book they used for the Tournament Power Drainy = Anacondrai thingy that allows suitably powerful entities to rip holes in space-time. Because it opened a gateway but couldn’t be used to summon specific entities, they couldn’t use it to get the Anacondrai out since it would have trapped them inside (or something). So instead they had opened the gateway with the intention of getting something reasonably powerful/mystical through and, because of that, Clouse was 100% ready to act all cordial.
So like I said, Clouse gets on his manipulate mansplain malewife-ing. He hails them as Great Beings (Mata Nui moment) from a different world who Master Chen had hailed here in hopes of finding worthy competitors for his Tournament. MK and Mei jump on that pretty fast (because woah! Cool! A tournament!) and Red is a lot less enthusiastic because he has enough sense to tell when something’s a blatant trap. However, someone (it can be MK, Mei, or Clouse) eggs him on so obviously now he has to get into it because his pride and Honor is on the line. Once they all agree to join, Clouse calls back his snake thing (which definitely startled the trio and they’re very much all “THATS your pet??!?!?!?”) which also shuts the gateway to the LMK world.
Clouse starts leading them through the catacombs to go meet Chen and, as they go, he proposes a “little exchange of information” where he will tell MK and them whatever they want abt the Ninjago world in exchange for info on the LMK world. Mei + Red aren’t too trusting of that but before they really voice their thoughts, MK agrees (to their mild chagrin).
Little note here abt Clouse’s early interactions with the trio. It’s very much about feeling out who is the easiest to manipulate in what way: who’s the most naïve, who has something to prove, who can be cut from the chain by being told that they’re the weak link? In this way he can move them as he likes, just like he and Chen did with all the Elemental Masters in canon.
The information exchange from Clouse’s side is pretty basic as far as Ninjago lore goes. He mentions FSM and Overlord + Elemental Masters and the Cursed Realm. In return this prompts MK to talk about LMK’s cosmogony (or what he knows about it, meaning “like the Big Bonk and stuff”) which Red Son corrects as needed (like with the actual cosmogonic story from JTTW). Then MK gets into SWK, the Journey (in broad OSP-flavored strokes), and Wukong’s retirement (AGAIN to Red’s chagrin, stop talking about how your dad beat up his dad >:/). From there he explains how each of their powers tie to their mentor/ancestor/parents from the Journey but when he starts chatting about the True Fire, Red + Mei interrupt to ask about Chen.
Clouse dodges the question by actually introducing them to Chen who, in turn, dissolves any attempts at interrogation by acting like a senile goofball whenever someone levels a semi-serious question at him. Any sillier, less important questions get immediate answers. Eventually (right when Red is about to start swinging) he calls for food! Chen’s Noodles! This gets MK immediately and he sits to eat, Mei following suit after he’s had a few bites and Red even more hesitantly. (Put a pin in this, ties back to rich/royalty kid conditioning that This Could Be Poisoned, brought up later). MK absolutely slanders Chen’s recipe by saying Pigsy’s is waaaaaaaay better but that this isn’t as bad as the Speedy Panda ‘food.’ Chen asks for tips because evil Wizard guy he may be, he wants good profits from his company efforts. While they get into that, Red and Mei take stock of the room for exits, elevation, and just generally anything they can use to help in a fight because Chen and Clouse are incredibly suspect. (Which does help later with the Jade Blades!) MK is blasting through bowls of the noodles btw, his stomach has got to be bottomless because he’s not even acting like he’s anywhere near full.
Eventually they finish eating and MK (awkwardly) asks if they can go. Clouse shuts that down right away because “the Tournament” and they can go home afterward, if they leave now they’ll forfeit immediately. Very reluctantly, MK agrees that they could stay for the tournament.
From there it gets a little episodic? Kinda vignette-y? They’re staying at Chen’s Island for a few days before the Tournament so it’s mostly little tidbits about that.
As mentioned before there’s the “This Food Could Be Poisoned” thing that Mei and Red talk abt at some point, relating some near misses and how they learned to deal with it (according to Mei, MK can put just about anything short of actual poison in his stomach without getting too sick). Because of the situation, they do tell MK to be a bit mindful abt eating the stuff Chen gives him (which sticks for all of five seconds bc Chen’s implementing Pigsy’s tricks for better noodles as told by MK).
There’s a bit about MK feeling homesick and missing his Dads. Mei’s used to not always being around her parents because they always went off to work trips or she would run away from home to be at MK’s place once she was old enough. Plus, after she got her sword, she feels like she’s never really that far from her family. Red’s more than old enough to cope with not being around his parents, esp since once of them was locked away for hundreds of years (which is a very salty topic). Beyond that, they both were separated from their parents during ROTSQ and S3, so it doesn’t really phase them like it does MK. He’s always had Tang and Pigsy, even in the worst of times, and when he didn’t he had Wukong (except for when he really, really didn’t and even then he had someone to turn to, whether it be Nezha who he had known for like five minutes or Macaque who tried killing him A Lot). But! Like good friends, Mei and Red comfort him.
A third bit in the LMK with Pigsy, Tang, Sandy, and Bai He. Pigsy, Tang, + Sandy are all looking for MK & Mei because they’ve been gone way longer than normal and aren’t answering their phones (which also aren’t even showing their locations beyond the tunnel they were at before going to Ninjago). Tang + Sandy definitely are on Pigsy about not asking Wukong abt it but he’s still justifiably pissed at SWK because he almost got all of them killed a lot on their mini-Journey for the True Fire. While searching they run into a mildly stricken Bai He. (and it stops, it’s a cliffhanger. She’s looking for Macaque and he’s been missing for the same amount of time as the Trio).
So after the vignettes, we get into the meat of the plot with the Tournament beginning! Traffic Light Trio goes down into the main area to listen to the rules with those who just arrived off the ferry to the Island. They marvel at everyone there because that means that they’re probably all people like MK and Mei who have powers but aren’t quite powerful beings like Red and them.
Once they’re sent to their rooms (that they’ve already been staying in), the first competition starts. For drama purposes, Red goes against Kai, Mei vs Jay, and MK vs Lloyd (since their powers are similar). Obv Kai and Jay are furious that they might not be THE Master of Fire/Lightning but just A Master of Fire/Lightning. Red doesn’t really give Kai the time of day and just snatches his Jade Blade after trading some blows, maybe snarks at him too. Mei plays it off with that childlike energy she has sometimes? Very “i like your funny words magic man.”
When it comes down to Lloyd vs MK, it’s very lighthearted but competitive in a fun way (in his opinion) on MK’s end while Lloyd is taking it pretty seriously since Zane is on the line. At first it’s just normal back and forth then MK uses one of his decidedly Golden powers which has Lloyd having an “oh shit!” moment since there was no one else with Golden power after he and Wu lost it last season. They don’t get to chat about it since the competition goes on.
From there it’s the spying portion w the ninja which will instead be split into two subplots. First is the ninja talking abt the competitors and their worries abt Traffic Light Trio. Second is Traffic Light Trio talking abt the competition and what happens if they lose then what the brackets are like. Their 1v1 fights are meant to be Red vs Tox, Mei vs Pale, and MK vs Shade.
Next day has that cafeteria scene with everyone in one place. MK slept in so he’s not there and Mei is off looking for him, so to start out it’s just Red. He gets confronted by Kai about having ‘his power’ which Red thinks is ridiculous. He insults Kai’s arguably worse (in his opinion) fire and how it has nothing on True Fire of Samadhi (blah blah the Ultimate Wildfire). (He mentions the True Fire not specifically because he has it but he still created it when he was born so naturally his powers are still somewhat comparable while Kai’s are not)
While they’re butting heads, it skips over to MK finally leaving his room and encountering Shade who starts antagonizing him for supposedly no reason. He says something that hits hard (not sure what yet? maybe a jab at him about his powers not being his own? just something that Shade, since he’s from Ninjago, should not know). When he dips, Mei comes and gets him then they go back to the cafeteria.
Traffic Light Trio eats together! It’s very nice, fluffy energy with no actual effect on the plot.
We skip the 1v1s up to Skylor’s and have Traffic Light Trio react to Chen’s “because of the NiNjA” penalty. Red is upset, as expected, he doesn’t want to sleep with the peasants. MK and Mei are considerably less upset because it’s like a big sleepover where they get to know everyone! As they go and everyone gets ready for bed, MK tries to reach out and be friendly (which doesn’t really work) except for when he tries chatting with Lloyd. The other 2 ninja did brush him off, but Lloyd talks to him and it’s nice start of friendship talks. They accidentally get a little deep abt responsibility and MK says something vaguely profound before it’s lights out.
Next is when they wake up for Thunderblade(?). Mei and Red are good enough on rollerblades but MK is killing it, as attributed to asking Nezha for some tips and tricks a while back. When Chen announces the game’s rules and how they can help a team, MK doesn’t waste any time picking up the green team helmet (to Red’s chagrin again, he’s so mad that MK’s so impulsive). Kai’s suspicious of them, asks why they’re helping, and MK very genuinely says something along the lines of “well you’re my friends” and Red very testily adds “because he’s stupid.”
Thunderblade is still a losing fight even with Traffic Light Trio so the ninja still end up allying with the other characters. Shade is more of a jerk than in canon and seems to be targeting MK and not Lloyd?
Afterward, the Ninja and Traffic Light Trio have an actual conversation while heading to the sleeping room. Introductions, talks about their powers, just normal-ish stuff. Lloyd brings up what Chen does to losers and MK has this moment where he reflects on both times he lost his powers (to Macaque and to LBD respectively) and grimaces. Mei supports him though and so does Red and they reassure them that they won’t be losing anytime soon.
Now there’s another B Plot moment with Free Noodles and Sandy + Bai He in the LMK world where they’re still trying to figure out what’s happened. They’re talking abt everything they’ve tried, where they’ve looked, and they’ve ‘got nothing.’ Tang mentions they really should just ask SWK for help which Pigsy + Bai He do not want to do. Sandy immediately goes “oopsie see abt that” and SWK shows up.
He asks after MK, when they say they can’t find him or the other three missing people he just shrugs it off, Pigsy’s furious for a good reason (he’s your successor, you need to worry about him too), and SWK reasons that if MK really were in trouble, he’d just astral project or SWK wouldn’t be able to see him with the Golden Eyes of Truth. When Bai He or Pigsy challenge him to do so, however, he finds that MK is just gone. Nowhere to be seen. So SWK starts worrying too! Hooray!
Next day in Ninjago, it’s Red vs Tox. No real things to add here except that Red wins. Maybe he goofs off (in a very serious, Red Son way) and doesn’t really Fight Fight like MK and Mei know he can (like in the first movie where he was ready to incinerate MK
Banquet where Ninja suspect Shade, MK says he’s kinda familiar which Red scoffs at since Shade’s obviously from Ninjago not LMK, and Neuro adds this tidbit that he’s tried looking into Shade’s mind but even that is shrouded in mystery and darkness as if he is less the Master of Shadows but really shadows himself
Traffic Light Trio doesn’t buy into Chen’s lie abt the staff and it really just bolsters them to Not Lose (esp Mei because if someone gets the True Fire then they might actually die)
To that end, Mei ends up talking to Garmadon about her powers (or Garmadon goes to ask what’s on her mind) and the damage they might do if given to someone else. When he tries to console her w the fact that, even in a worst case scenario, all the Elemental Masters here are used to holding immense power. She disputes that right away but when he asks why she thinks it too dangerous, she struggles to answer. Red shows up though and explains the True Fire’s properties, prolly leads into a jump to the next scene
Talking to the masters abt the spy in Kai’s room, Neuro still can’t check Shade’s mind. When he runs off, MK chases him. They have a bit of a showdown where suddenly Shade isn’t acting the same way he was in the room w everyone else. They fight, Shade needles him with his insecurities and hits him in his weak points that really only his friends should know. Eventually MK gets fed up with him and tries to hit him w the Staff. Shade disappears into his own shadow and the room gets dark in a way that’s very familiar to MK. Shade tells him that he’s “really dense” but he should’ve expected that since “like master like student.”
Finally MK catches on that Shade is Macaque, calls him out, and he transforms back into his normal self to say “the one and only” again because that’s one of my favorite lines
That’s pretty much all I’ve thought out, maybe I’ll continue in a different post for the other half of Tournament of Elements

how do u think spicynoodles+mei (i cant remember the trio ship name) is spending their valentines together?? >:)))
CHIMERA MY BELOVED. Also haaaiii kitty <3
I think for mk and mei it was very. typical? before red son showed up. like theyd celebrate it rlly closely with candy and have fun together!
when redson showed up, however, he originally thought it was a waste of time, but he became a sucker for romantic nights together on valentine's day and they started doing more because red son is all fancy and shit yk?
So they started doing more romantic stuff.
as for specifics, i think they in general spend the day together and go out and have fun (its a special day off for all of them) and most of that is mei, she takes care of that. then, they go out to dinner and redson puts that together. and then mk settles them in with a movie and they sleep together <33

This will probably never be a huge AU for me but I saw a bunch of LMK edit's to The Story of The Phantom (Mostly Spicynoodle's or Shadowpeach) So I was fully prepared to throw some Freenoodle's into the ring because that is my personal OTP. What I also did was switch up who people would have likely assumed to be the Phantom and Esmerelda/Christine (Depending on the semantics). Listen, Pigsy has a god tier singing voice and the thought of delivering Tang angst was too tantalizing for me.
So the basic plot:
Pigsy still works as a chef, it's just that he's just starting out (This is set YEARS before canon) so he's not as caught up in it as he does get. On weekends he spends his nights at the local theatre, which in present day is Macaque's Shadow Theatre, and sometimes does in fact sing when he's feeling up to it.
One day while after one of these performances he finds himself taking a wrong turn in the theatres hall's and realises pretty quickly that he's going the wrong way. Before he turns back however a melody played on piano carries down the corrido and against his better judgement he pursues it, though not without grabbing a loose stone to defend himself with.
It's in the depths. of the theatre he meets the ever elusive phantom, Tang. He's honestly a lot less creepy than The Phantom. Most of his creepiness just stems from the fact he's lived a very secluded lifestyle. Also his scarring is not natural, it's a result of trauma he endured as a child. He managed to escape the situation and had been living under the theatre for almost a decade when he met Pigsy.
After a bit of threatening on Pigsy's behalf Tang comes clean about having heard his singing before on some nights and occasionally sneaking up into the theatre to listen in better, he just... forgot he left the secret passage open and didn't expect Pigsy to stumble in here.
Eventually the two settle down and Pigsy leaves, though Tang is able to wrestle out a promise from the chef to get him to return the next day after his work shift is over. Pigsy only agreed to it because Tang looked very sad to see the demon leave.
It becomes pretty common for Pigsy to visit Tang when he has free time, and he gets to know the man and eventually gets him to show Pigsy his face under the mask.
Over time, they fall in love. Slowly, but it's strong and it's mutual.
Of course, eventually Pigsy notices that Tang isn't really happy, not with this life. He's got to live in fear of potentially being discovered by others less kind than Pigsy, he has to live underground with little exposure to the outside world because he's got something that people want that he can't give them without it hurting.
It's not really a way to live, even if Pigsy makes it brighter.
So, Pigsy calls in an old friend to help him basically smuggle Tang out of the city and get him to someone who can cast some sort of glamour to hide the damage.
He calls Sandy.

Prompt for dark wukong/shadowpeach - wukong retiring and making MK monkie kid is about settling down with Mac if the other one like it or not. Sorry just love all your dark spicynoodles and shadowpeach and would love to see your take on dark wukong :)
Oh I see, so it's like he's looking for someone to take on the job of Monkey King so he can go off and get hitched and not have to worry about his mountain or protecting humanity. Haha, yeah that's a fun idea! I think MK wouldn't even be opposed to the idea once he learns that's what his mentor is planning. Of course, if Macaque is NOT up for it, then that's a different story, but how would MK know that lol... and if SWK managed to manipulate him just right, he would probably even help him get his hands on Mac

The Name
Okay so the writing bug bit me after reading @urlocalllama’s newest story and I just wanted to write Spicynoodles discussing something silly, especially after that scare.
-_-
“I want a cat.”
“A cat?”
Red nodded seriously, rubbing circles into Xiaotian’s shoulder. Outside, the party was going strong. Music was blaring and occasionally Porty could be heard yelling encouragements. Inside the hotel room, however, it was quiet.
After the first burst of afterglow, the realization of what had happened had hit, and... they just needed a moment.
“I could never have one,” Red admitted. “I was worried about it going somewhere it shouldn’t be and getting hurt.” He glanced down. “What about you?”
Xiaotian hummed, thinking about it. “I never got to have a pet. Health hazard in the shop.” Honestly, back when he first became Monkie Kid? He would’ve said he wanted a puppy. “For a long time I wanted a puppy. I think Xiaojiao egged me on there, to be honest.”
“Hm?”
“She wanted one but her mom’s allergic.” Xiaotian said. “Plus her apartment building doesn’t allow pets.” Which was a bit stupid, considering the area of the city Xiaojiao lived in. She had to settle for adorable puppy videos. “But then I met Sandy and all his cats.” Sandy could probably point them in the right direction of places to adopt a cat.
Red chuckled, his hand migrating up to gently card through Xiaotian’s hair. “Yes, I can see how that would get you to consider cats.”
This? This was nice. They’d had discussions about the big stuff before, like where they were living and how many kids they wanted. But smaller domestic stuff like this? Xiaotian’s heart thumped in his chest.
“Do you have a name in mind?”
Red snorted. “No. Not me.”
Xiaotian couldn’t help the chuckle, resting his chin on Red’s chest to look up at him. “Why not?”
“I named one of my Bull Clones Bob.”
“Hey, don’t diss Bob. Bob’s great.”
“He is but if you want our cat to either be named something stupid or stupidly elaborate I’m leaving cat names up to you. I don’t have a list of cat names like I do baby names.”
Xiaotian smirked up at him, feeling his face heat up. “Is Bob a baby name?”
“...I will not answer that.”
“I’m naming the cat Bob.”
Red reached over and with a burst of laughter smacked Xiaotian over the head with a pillow. “You are not naming our future ball of love Bob.”
“Oh, so you can name the bigger ball of love Bob?”
“No!”
What followed was a pillow fight of massive proportions, the two exchanging blows as they went back and forth on whether or not Bob was a good name. It ended when Red pinned Xiaotian down and paused for a moment. He wasn’t sure what he was thinking but it had to be pleasant, based on how his hair was sparking.
“I love you.”
“I love you and any future Bobs.”
Red rolled his eyes but kissed him anyway.

(Red Son is he/she. He pronouns for Red Son are marked in blue, she pronouns are marked in pink)
-----
MK was bad at putting on makeup. He sucked at putting on makeup- he felt like a clown every time he tried and staring at himself in the mirror made him feel miserable. He didn’t even usually have a desire to put on makeup, it wasn’t something he thought about outside of situations well.
Like this one.
Situations where he was going out somewhere and he wanted to look good and pretty for once in his life.
Situations where he was going out with Red Son, who was his pretty perfect boyfriend who was pretty all the time and made him want to be pretty.
But he wasn’t pretty. It was very clear how unpretty he was as he looked at the mess on his face. He’d wanted to do purple, orange, and gold eyeshadow to match Red’s dress but he looked like a toddler who’d gotten into her mother’s makeup- with that stupid golden lipstick and his stupid-
“MK?” came Red’s voice through the bathroom door. MK broke into tears. God- Red was going to see him and see this MESS on his face- Red opened the door and MK slid down onto the floor. “Noodle Boy, what’s wrong?” MK looked over to Red and his face pinched. Red in her beautiful red cheongsam with golden flowers and fire and phoenix feathers embroidered on it. Golden like that eyeshadow MK had massacred. MK covered his face, “C-Can we just cancel the date?” Red scoffed at him. Full-on scoffed at him! Usually, that wouldn’t hurt so bad but… MK tried to wipe his tears and sniffled, causing concern to dawn on his boyfriend's face. Red gently walked over, the click-clack of her heels comforting in a way.
“What’s wrong, MK?” he asked softly, settling down beside him, “You’re the one who was all excited to go on a ‘fancy rich people date’ in the first place…” MK sniffled and hid his face, “I just- I don’t want to go anymore. Let’s stay home.”
Red sighed and grabbed MK’s wrist, “Okay, you’ve been hiding this whole time. Let’s see your face.”
MK whined and didn’t budge, “No! You’re gonna make fun of me!” “I’m not going to make fun of you.” Red said softly, pulling MK’s hands away from his face. “Oh, is that what’s bothering you?” “I look stupid!” MK cried. “No you don’t! Honestly, Noodle Boy, it’s just in the ugly phase!” Red huffed, standing up and pulling MK up with her. He sat MK down on the toilet seat and sighed, “You’re too hard on yourself, Noodle Boy.” “You’re too nice.” “I tried to murder you when I first met you.” Red said softly, sitting on MK’s lap and grabbing his eyeshadow palette. She hummed and got to work on MK’s eyeshadow, his brows furrowing in focus. MK chuckled at his girlfriend, his mood lightening just a bit. He stayed quiet as Red worked, gazing up at his beautiful face. Red sat back and smiled, “Alright! There you go- Ah, wait-” Red leaned in and began to clean up MK’s lipstick. Her fingers were so soft and gentle against his skin, and MK couldn’t help but grab his wrist and press a kiss to her finger tips. He pulled back and looked at the gold smeared on his lover’s hand, and then the awed look in his eyes. “Please kiss me.” MK said lowly, pulling Red’s wrist to the side and leaning just so close. Not close enough, Red would have to close the gap.
And close the gap he did.
And, when they arrived at their reservation, instead of golden lipstick and red lipstick respectively, they both had on shimmering orange lipstick. As if the two colors had somehow mixed.

Random idea, but secret relationship Spicynoodles, except nobody's figured it out by the time S3 rolls around. So Red joins the crew somehow and he and MK have much more time together... except there's a ton more people around so they can't be too romantic otherwise questions will start coming.
Oooo, I’ve seen this around! My turn! MWAHAHA >:D! Sorry this took so long.
Red pushed MK against a wall, their hands and mouths exploring each other, sparks flew between them, an undeniable passion ignited.
They had barely anytime to kiss and cuddle as they had been constantly surrounded by the others on the flying ship and they hadn’t exactly told the others about the nature of their relationship.
Since New Years, the two had gotten to know each other. Along the lines a friendship had formed then a romantic relationship which became long distance when the Demon Bull King decided to take Red out of the city and away from the madness.
They hadn’t seen each other until they appeared at Red’s home, asking for help.
And Red accepted. After all the White Bone Spirit had messed with his father, this was personal and getting to see the Noodle Boy after so long was a plus.
They agreed to keep their relationship under wraps for now since they were afraid that the group would make them break up in favor of focusing on defeating the White Bone Spirit.
They didn’t want that to happen so they kept quiet. Well they tried to, it was so difficult not to touch each other and cradle the other in their arms after so long.
They took every opportunity when they were alone to shower each other with affection, careful not to get caught.
Red peeled back MK’s jacket so one side of it rested on half of his arm. “I love you,” he proclaimed in between kisses.
“I love you too. I love you so much,” they replied as they hastily ran their fingers through their partner’s hair.
The kisses grew hot and heavy until it was broken by a “MK!”
They separated with Xiaotian quickly pulling up the jacket, softening the creases and Red fixing his mussed hair.
The two tried to hide their red faces as Mei walked up to them. “Hey, Red, MK.”
The human waves at his friend. “Hey, Mei! You called?”
Mei grinned as she looked at them. “Yea, I did! I was wondering if you wanted to play a game with me!”
“Sure! Want to join, Red?”
The demon hid his scowl, angry at being interrupted. “No, I’m fine. I have to help Sandy with something anyway. Bye, peasants.”
He walked away, hands in pockets. MK felt a bit sad at that but he had no time to comfort the demon as Mei pulled him to the couch to play a game.
While the game was fun and he enjoyed hanging out with his friend, sadness lingered at remembering his partner’s expression. Eventually he and Mei separated. He made his way to find Red who was leaning against an invention he was working on with Sandy.
“Hey, you two,” he greeted with a wave.
“Hey, little man,” Sandy greeted in return in the middle of tightening a bolt on the latest invention.
“Hi, Noodle Boy!”
“Hey, Red! I wanted to know if you were done.”
“Oh, ummm… are we done, Sandy?”
“Yep! Go on!”
“Thank you.” He grabbed his partner’s hand and dragged them away into the other’s room. Once he locked it, he pressed a kiss against his lips.
“You okay?”
“I’m fine, Noodle Boy. Why would I not be?”
“Because Mei ruined our moment.”
“It’s fine,” they repeated. “Not as if I’m not used to it. I wish I could flay that White Bone Spirit myself and save the day.”
“Like a hero?” MK interrupted with a smirk.
“No! Just… just so we could announce ourselves as a couple with the possibility of being split apart.”
“I know. I know. One day. I promise.”
“I know.”
They sighed together, the same conversation happened day in and day out about the nature of their relationship and revealing it.
Red settled the human in his lap, wrapping his arm around his waist and burying his chin in the other’s hair.
Time passed where their relationship continued in secret as it always had.
They had fought a myriad of demons, gotten injured a bunch of times, made memories and enjoyed each other’s company. The others always looked as if they had something to say when one of the two had a strong reaction to their partner’s injuries but remained quiet.
Even if they suspected the two had feelings for each other, there was a silent reassurance they weren’t going to act on it.
“So, kid, how do you feel about Red?” Pigsy asked one day when he, Pigsy and Sun Wukong were in the kitchen, the two helping the pig make some red bean cakes. Well Xiaotian was doing most of the helping while the Monkey attempted to steal pieces of every batch.
The king had an arm around the pig’s waist, sitting on the counter.
“Hm? Why do you ask?”
The Monkey King and Pigsy exchanged glances before turning to the younger. “We just want to make sure you’re okay with him being here, bud. Since you two were rivals.”
He raised a brow. “Well, Red is good now so I don’t mind.”
“He treat you well?” The king nudged Pigsy as if silently telling him that he was supposed to ask that in a more subtle manner.
“Yes?” The response came out as more of a question than a statement. “Why?”
Another glance between the older adults. “We noticed you have you know feelings for him.”
They waved their arms in dismissal. “No! No! I do not have feelings for Red! That’s crazy! If I did, they would impede our goal so I do not have feelings for Red!”
They stared as if they didn’t believe them. “It’s okay if you do, bud.”
“Wait. What?”
“Yea, we don’t mind. We think it’s sweet and he seems like a good fit for you.”
A wild grin. “Really?”
“Yep,” Sun Wukong responded. “In fact, we wouldn’t mind if you two dated or anything but you don’t like Red so.” He shrugged.
“I wasn’t being completely honest about that.”
Pigsy rolled his eyes. “We could tell.”
“It wouldn’t hurt our goal if I said something?”
“Nope,” they replied.
“As long as you’re happy and safe, bud. That’s all that matters and we don’t think confessing would hurt our mission at all.”
He gripped both of them in tight hug. “Oh thank you! I’ll uhhh confess to Red one day! Bye!” They skipped off, beaming ear to ear to tell Red about it.
The two elders laughed. “Are we goin’ to tell them we already now?”
“No, it’s more fun this way,” Sun Wukong said as he reached for a red bean cake. Pigsy slapped his hand. “Hey!”
The pig rolled his eyes for the second time. “I give you two weeks before they say something.”
“I give you three.”
“Shake on it?” He took the king’s hand.
The king bobbed his head and shook it. “Shake on it.”

Fluff 1/11 for that civilian Spicynoodles with Red being a fashion designer and Xiaotian being a model? (Like, right after Macaque hears Xiaotian quits so the entire time he's sending more and more frantic texts.)
Dialogue starters
1.“Is that my shirt?” “You mean our shirt?”
11.“I’m so proud of you.”
ngl this AU is a lot of fun
--
“What are you doing?”
“Updating my instagram. Need to let the stans know i’m backing a better brand now.”
“Ah.”
Xiaotian leaned back on the bed, his phone held up with the flashlight on as a prop, facing a far more professional camera as the remote shudder went off. An Influencer trick for the ages. Pretending something is a mirror shot when really it’s just a second camera.
Red Son watched his lover/fake honeypot/new business partner get the angle right, fuss over the filter and all that stuff models had to worry about in the age of social media as he leaned back slightly on his designing board. (Xiaotian already had a drawer at his easel for the comics he dabbled in in his spare time) and contemplated just how this would all fall out.
He was more than thankful that Xiaotian had not only informed him right out the gate that Six Ears and by extension the entire Macaque label, was built on the skeletons of stolen ideas that independent designers had gotten poached from them under the guise of an outreach program Red Son had foolishly applied for to get the Firey Cloud label out there, but had also been looking for an excuse to ditch Six Ears and decided to bring his own clout to back up Red Son’s label instead. However, he couldn’t help but be worried that that might be bad for his lover’s career in the long run. He didn’t have much to worry about, being assumed eventual heir to the Flower Fruit Label (with one of his foster fathers being the founder and CEO Sun fucking Wukong) but he seemed to really enjoy modelling and he would feel terrible if Xiaotian’s self made identity was thrown away because he’d decided to help Red Son out and got blackballed because Six Ears decided to take some revenge.
“Is that my shirt?” it wasn’t even one of the shirts he’d made himself, it was just some cheap T-shirt from a three pack from fresh out of school when he couldn’t afford enough spare fabric to make his own clothes. (getting cut off from his family had its own setbacks; he’d never even touched the clearance section before getting out of school and deciding to become a designer, but in his defence a lot of his early work was upcycling anyway so it all worked out in the long run)
“You mean our shirt?”
“You’re really uploading instagram pictures of you in a clearance rack T Shirt?”
“Nobody will notice, I’m doing it for the Firey Cloud Jacket.” he was indeed wearing the jacket with the design label on it. Though Red Son had only made that one for himself, it was more of a gentle hope for himself, that one day his brand would be big enough that a relatively simple jacket with the label logo would someday be enough to mean something.
And to Xiaotian it already was.
And that made something warm settle in his chest.
Xiaotian huffed and glanced back at his phone, sticking out his tongue in distaste.
“Guess whose texting me?”
“Six Ears?”
“‘Xiaotian this is an out of season prank right?’ ‘Are you playing long con or something?’ ‘Seriously i need a check in’ Like bitch read my fucking letter of resignation again; maybe since ‘I don’t agree with your business practices and am morally obligated to leave’ wasn’t clear enough, I should have just put ‘I’m fucking your newest competition’!”
He laughed like the whole thing was personally amusing and Red Son found himself settling behind the model and peeking over his shoulder at the response he was typing out.
“Ah, you’re going to keep professional about it?” He made sure his tone sounded as comically astonished as possible and Xiaotian stuck his tongue out at him. So Red Son followed that up with a “I’m so proud of you!” and a patronising pat on the head.
“You’re such a bastard.” Xiaotian huffed, but the grin still stretched across his own face belied his amusement.
“You love it.”
“Damn, caught me.”
There wasn’t much silence to be had as Xiaotian scrolled through his social media, periodically interrupted by more and more frantic/enraged texts from his former boss. And a single text from one of his fathers. A simple ‘glad you’re free of that bastard, have fun working indie’ which was responded to with a simple ‘I will!’
“Aaah! Check your online stats Red, I’ve already got like… so many likes on that promo shot!”

“Anniversary”
Written for @purble-turble‘s dark spicynoodles au of Demon King Red and his obsession for his former prisoner MK. I love this au and the concept of demonic obsession Hope you enjoy!
-_-
MK landed at the doors to the restaurant. He had immediately rushed over when he had heard the report, although he had also been confused. Holding an entire fancy restaurant hostage didn't seem like something Red Son would do.
Well, he had been doing a lot of thing MK hadn't expected.
He threw open the doors and stormed inside, holding out the staff defensively. He entered the main room, looking around. The restaurant was huge, with a grand staircase in the middle leading to more private rooms. Everyone was crowded against the wall, demons all keeping a watchful eye over them. All eyes turned to him.
And MK felt like he had landed in a trap.
"Darling!"
The blood froze in his veins. Slowly, MK looked up. Descending down the stairs was the king himself, grinning maniacally with that broken look in his eyes. He shifted, holding up the staff in a warning gesture. Red paused, frowning. "Really, darling? That's not how things are going to go."
"How are things going to go?" MK managed out, a sick twist in his stomach.
"Simple. I'll let them go." Red waved a careless hand at the hostages. MK's heart soared before rapidly plummeting at his next words. "If you'll have dinner with me."
MK automatically moved to say no. But he gave another look around. There were innocent people. People Red would hurt if he didn't get his way. "Alright." He said, raising a hand in a declaration of surrender. "I'll...have dinner."
"Wonderful!" Red, grin bright, held out his arm. MK didn't take it. It was dropped but Red didn't stop smiling. Instead, he turned and led MK up the stairs. MK paused for a moment, trying to aim a comforting smile at the hostages.
Thankfully, there was always a backup plan.
-_-
MK was led to one of the private party rooms. It had to be one of the smallest rooms in the restaurant. Candles lit the space, while red orchid petals had been strewn around. It was all very romantic.
He hated it.
Red pulled out a chair for MK, scooting him in. He settled down across from him, folding his hands together to stare at MK lovingly. A clearly terrified waitress entered. In a trembling voice, she requested what they wanted.
"A bottle of wine and whatever he wants."
MK decided to go with the safest option. "A plain salad, please." She nodded, quickly scurrying away and leaving them in silence.
MK was torn between sneakily checking his phone and keeping an eye on Red. His choice was made when Red cleared his throat. "Today's a very special day, darling!"
He wracked his mind, trying to figure out why this day was special. "Um...mind filling me in?"
Red's smile became strained as a bark of laughter escaped him. "Don't tell me you've gone and forgotten, darling!" The waitress entered with the wine and Red took it, eyes never leaving MK. The waitress fled as MK shrugged. "It's our anniversary!"
Oh.
Right. The day Red had awkwardly asked MK out on a date, only to stab him in the back a month later and keep him in captivity for another six. MK had tried his best to forget this date over the months he had been free from this demon. The pop of the bottle’s cork drew him from his thoughts. “None for me.”
Red paused, an inch away from pouring some wine into MK’s glass. “Are you sure?”
“Yes.”
There was a shrug. “If you’re sure.” He put aside the bottle to reach into his pocket. “Anyway, I have an anniversary gift for you!”
MK winced. He knew better than to argue about their “anniversary”. Even though the fillet didn’t exist anymore, he still found himself wincing every time he argued with someone, in anticipation of the pain. Red placed a small box on the table, smiling excitedly. He looked like a cat who had brought their human a mouse, excited to be told he had done a good job.
His stomach twisted at how he had broken him.
Carefully drawing the box close, MK opened it. He froze at the sight of familiar golden bracelets, a large red gemstone set in the center of each one. Next to them were ankles and a collar, each one with their own red gemstone. When he looked up, Red was slipping a matching ring on his wedding finger. “...what is this?”
Red sighed, taking a sip of his wine. “You still have those behavioral issues we need to deal with, darling.” MK stiffened at the words, glaring at the king. “But the fillet was awful, I’m not afraid to admit that. So, I developed a kinder solution!” He leaned forward, smiling excitedly as he held out the hand he wore the ring with. “The gems will pick up every time you’re acting out. This ring will inform me and I can press a button and bop! You’ll be unable to move until I can come to take you someplace quieter!”
MK glanced at the set of jewelry. This was another set of chains and he could feel them clamp around him. He looked up at Red.
He had to wonder when denial had translated to madness.
Making eye contact, MK smacked the box off the table. Red sighed as the jewelry scattered on the floor. “You’ve proven my point, darling.”
Before he could retort, a loud explosion rocked the restaurant. MK smiled as he heard Mei’s war cry. The two of them stood at once, Red’s face slipping into a frown. The Monkie Kid seized his chance and ran from the room to join his friends, not having to look back to hear his wannabe jailkeeper let out a cry.
Happy “anniversary”, Red.

For a prompt, how's about 41 and 50 for reverse spicynoodles?? Perhaps with Demon MK trying to protect Red from a big, dangerous demon that's genuinely giving him a difficult fight.
Demons should know better than to agitate a constantly angry fire demon. Especially the son of the Demon Bull King. Especially when he is clearly not happy you’re attacking his battle flirt.
"It’s like watching a chihuahua provoke a rottweiler."/ “God, I love you.”
"It’s like watching a chihuahua provoke a rottweiler,” the much larger demon laughed darkly as MK jumped in front of Red with a burst of flame to push him back. “What would your father think of you defending the little thief who ruined his return?”
Red breathed heavily, ribs and lungs hurting from having the wind knocked out of him via the giant demon’s last attack, holding himself up by leaning on his staff. The demon had looked intimidating from the get go, but Red had been holding his own just fine for the first half of the battle. But immediately after he had slammed the demon into the side of the mountain he had bounced back and hit him 3 times harder than he had been the whole fight.
He had no idea when MK showed up, but he had never been happier to see the fire wielding demon in his entire life.
“My father would be quite proud to know I dealt with at least one thief today,” MK smirked, lighting the entirely of both his arms on fire. “Given your little power boost was stolen from us.”
“How did y-” The demon didn’t get a chance to finish his sentences before MK cartwheeled and used the flames on his arms to launch himself at the demon’s face, ripping off the necklace he had round his neck.
Immediately it was like almost all the demon’s energy was sapped and he fell to his knees, glowering up in anger before narrowly rolling away from the flaming kick MK aimed at his head. He attempted to punch into MK’s stomach but his fist was caught in both of MK’s hands and Red watched as he launched himself heels over head backwards with another burst of flame, flipping over the demon and pulling his arm back with the sheer force of the launch before slamming his knees into his back and letting go to land in a handstand.
With one last powerful burst of flames he kicked into the demon’s back and sent him flying forward into the nearest mountain and when the dust and dirt settled Red could see the demon had been knocked out cold.
MK laughed jubilantly, bouncing on his hands in the handstand once before back flipping back into a standing position and turning around to look at Red with a prideful smirk and a huff of flame from his mouth. “And that’s how you deal with a thief.”
It was the most badass thing Red had ever seen and that is probably why he didn’t even think before saying “God, I love you.”
“What?”
“What?”
The two men looked at each other and Red wasn’t sure who was flushing faster when they both realized what he had said.
“AAAHHH OK NOODLE BOY THAT’S NICE BYE!” MK screamed suddenly, a flash of fire transporting him to the side of the unconscious demon before another flame took them away completely.
Well... that wasn’t how Red thought his confession would go...

Figuring It Out As We Go Chap. 1
Here we arreeee~ the fic i sat on for a month and a half before i decided to post it~
I got this in my head a couple days after reading the whole spicynoodles tag on ao3, because as yall have prolly figured out, if i run out of content for a ship, i usually begin making the content myself. After i post chaps 1 and 2, i’ll begin updating this every friday, like i do on ao3. I don’t know why i wrote this, but honestly i pumped out 4000 words of it in 2 hrs one night, so yall know im in love w it.
It’s got like, implied nsfw, some emotions on mk’s part, some other stuff goin on 👀 (also if ur emetophobic feel free to stop by the askbox or my dms to ask for a summary bc this might trigger u)
I hope yall like it!!
It had started off as a casual thing.
A release of post-battle adrenaline, the kind of thing MK and Red Son did and then immediately agreed not to talk about or repeat.
But they repeated it, again and again and again.
The sound of their labored breathing echoed throughout MK’s apartment as the two of them lay on the bed, finally spent. MK felt pleasantly drowsy, and basked in the final rays of sunshine that shone through his window.
“I have to go.” Red Son murmured from beneath him. “My parents will be looking for me.”
MK buried his face in the crook of Red Son’s neck, and bit back the words in his throat that sounded suspiciously like “stay, don’t go, let me fall asleep in your arms.” Dangerous words, ones that would make this situation even worse.
They both knew that this was possibly the worst decision either of them had ever made, but MK wondered when “a casual fuck” had turned into something more, something that pricked at his eyes and put words on his tongue. He knew he’d never tell Red Son about any of his blossoming feelings, but he found himself wondering about the demon more and more. He’d never stayed for breakfast, but MK wondered if he drank coffee in the mornings. Maybe he was a chocolate milk drinker. Maybe he drank tea. Did he like pancakes or waffles better?
MK wanted to know everything about Red Son, from the tiny, inconsequential things to the big, life-changing moments.
He just wanted Red Son, in every way.
MK’s breath caught in his throat, but he rolled to the other side of the bed so Red Son could get up. He stared up at the ceiling as he heard the shuffling of clothes next to his bed, and chewed on his bottom lip as he blinked back tears. He’d been very emotional lately, and the feelings swirling in his head didn’t help.
The rustling of clothes stopped, and he heard quiet footsteps head toward the window. He heard Red Son draw in a breath, then listened as the window unlatched and closed as he left.
MK sucked in a breath, then began to cry. He curled in on himself as sobs shook his frame. He cried for lost chances, bad decisions, and missed opportunities. He ached to be held, to be soothed, but the only person who could help him feel better had already left.
He cried until he could cry no more, tired and dehydrated as he was. Then, he showered, using cold water to shock him into awakeness and out of the post-coital funk. He felt slightly better after putting on some pajama pants, then went to his mini-fridge to see if he had any food.
Truthfully, the stomach issues he’d been fighting off and on for a couple months now made it difficult to find an appetite, but he figured it was better to eat something and hopefully absorb some of the nutrients than eat nothing. He’d even tried a liquid-only diet, but had thrown up the liquids too.
He picked a package of dumplings, then settled on the sofa to watch reruns of Monkey King: The Animated Series. Fifteen minutes later, he was once again in the restroom, this time throwing up what little he managed to eat of the dumplings. When he finished, he finally gave in and called the doctor.
“Thank you for calling the clinic, how may I help you?” The receptionist answered.
Mk cleared his throat before responding, “Yes, I’d like to make an appointment,” in his most grown up voice.
The sounds of typing came through the line, and the receptionist asked, “Name?”
“Uh, Qi Xiaotian.”
“Okay, we have an opening tomorrow at 1 PM. Are you available?”
MK thought it over for a moment. On the one hand, he’d have to call in sick, but on the other, Pigsy would probably let him, what with his stomach issues and all. “Yes, I am.”
“Good. See you then!” The line went dead, and MK hung up.
Then, he called Mei.
“Hey MK!” She greeted excitedly. “What’s up?”
“Hey Mei! Can you take me to the doctor tomorrow?” He asked, knowing that Pigsy was busy and Tang didn’t have a car.
Her voice immediately took on a tone of concern. “Okay, but are you okay?”
“Yeah, just an annoying stomach bug.” He replied casually, flopping on the bed as he sipped water from a water bottle. “They’ll probably just give me some pills and tell me to drink liquids. Shouldn’t be too long.”
“Alright, but if it gets bad or you start throwing up blood or something, promise me you’ll go to the hospital?” Mei asked.
MK smiled as he replied, “Yeah, of course.”
It was nice to know that someone cared about him.
He just had to forget about Red Son and remember all the people in his life who loved him.
Mei hung up after that, and MK went back to their marathon. The episodes were ones they’d already seen, but there was a comfort in these older episodes, akin to wearing a nostalgia blanket. They snuggled with their favorite stuffed animal, and soon drifted into a heavy sleep.

I ended up deleting a stinky attempt at SpicyNoodles fanart on ibisPaint & settled on a Red Son doodle on white oard instead cuz ik damn well I won't practice a lego art style on ibisPaint without losing motivation— Anyway, does this look good for a 1st attempt? #legomonkiekid #legomonkiekidredson #lmkredson https://www.instagram.com/p/CdcRbRvrtf-/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Okay so I saw the Shadowpeach "sworn Brotherhood = Marriage" post and have you considered... spicynoodles; Red Son is super "old school" and instead of asking MK on a date he goes STRAIGHT to marriage- but he offers that they become "Sworn Brothers" instead. MK agrees with a yeah cool, and Pigsy hears and forces MK to sit down to explains it to him... while the Monkey King is sitting back wondering if this means he was married to Demon Bull King since they were also Sworn Brothers....
Hahahaaa yeah, I didn't mention it in the last ask about it, but Sun Wukong has six sworn brothers in the JTTW canon, all of them powerful demon lords. Now I'm imagining a scenario in which Macaque was the first one to ask Sun Wukong to be his sworn brother, thinking Wukong knew what that meant.. and Wukong does know what it means. It just means something different to him than it does to Macaque lol. so when he accepts, Macaque is ecstatic! ...but then Wukong, thinking it's a swell idea, goes off and asks to be sworn brothers with the other five demons they're friends with: the Demon Bull King, the Dragon King, the Garuda King, the Lynx King, and the Orangutan King. Mac is... less than enthused by this. But, well, he never really established they were exclusive, did he? And the Great Sage Equal to Heaven is probably not going to settle for just one marriage- he's made it clear through his previous exploits that he's willing to take whatever he wants. That's what Macaque likes about him, anyway, so he doesn't bring it up.. besides, he was first. So he knows he's the most important to Wukong~
I wonder which of his other sworn brothers had the same idea of the title? Seems like it depends on their culture and background so it could go either way... Demon Bull King probably didn't see it in a romantic way (he's the token straight in all this imo lol) but some of the others might have
