#my thoughts#emacs#kidding#but i really do wish emacs were better at rendering things other than plaintext#a gui toolkit and layout engine would be appreciated#like imagine a world where org tables could be treated like real spreadsheets#instead of mostly real spreadsheets with a layer of plaintext jank#obviously there would be problems getting that stuff to work in text mode#but there are already plenty of things that dont work well in text mode#can we just cut loose already#one can dream
