TickleTober Day 13 ~Sneak Attack~ (Pokemon Scarlet and Violet)

“Hey, Gru!” Rika ran over, raising a hand high before him. “Put it there!”

“Put what where?” The icy gym leader shook his head before slapping his hand into hers, figuring it’d be easier to give in.

Big mistake- the second their hands connected she interlocked their fingers.

“Um- Rika? My hand?” He pulled gently, but her grip was strong. Seconds later she had his other one, trapping them both. “What are you doing?”

“He he he~ You’ve fallen for my trap, Grusha! Now- Larry! Get him!” Rika called out. Grusha stiffened, waiting for…nothing. When he looked up, the mentioned man was nowhere to be found.

“Any second now.” She nodded, waiting. Grusha blinked boredly at her.

“Rika…I think Larry abandoned you.” He pulled again, still no dice. “Now, let me go plea-EEEH!”

“SURPRISE! It was me all along!” Iono cried from his hip, fingers pressing into his sides with rapid speed as the Grusha squeaked behind his scarf. “Never let your guard down, Gru-Gru! Rule number one of the Iono’s world!”

“Rule number two- you don’t get to stay so sour! Come on, smile for us!” Rika added, bringing his arms higher so Iono could get the weak spots along his ribs. “Smile!”

“Screehehehehehhew boohohoohohth of yoohoohohohohu! Aheahhahahaaha, gahhahahahhad!” Grusha’s legs nearly gave out from the relentless tickling, forcing him to double over. This was a fairly bad move for now Iono could reach his armpits- a spot that was absolutely dreadful. “Fhihihihihihne, fiihihihihine I’m smihihihihihiihhling, now stahhahahahap!”

“Boo- he gave up so easily!” Iono mock pouted, pulling her hands away with an impish giggle. Rika released him as well- her snickers of glee turning into a startled laugh when he swatted his scarf at her.

“You two are terrible! Oo- you’re so lucky we’re not back at Glaseado- you’d be getting necks full of snow!” He grumbled, backing away at Iono’s wiggling fingers. “Stay ba-AH!”

“Rika, I showed up.” Larry waved the hand he used to poke Grusha’s side. “What did you want me to do?”

“.....I hate all of you.” Grusha grumbled as the girls squealed with laughter, delighted. Behind his scarf, he was smiling too.

He didn't like it. He did not like it at all. The way this guy was making you laugh, while putting his hand on your shoulder, tracing with his fingers down to your back.

He wasn't allowed to feel this bubbling anger rising up but he couldn't control it. He knew he liked you when you made him feel comfortable crying in your presence. That was the moment he knew there would be no one else for him.

When he saw the way you shared stories with this guy, he decided to just ignore you and walk off. He was acting childish, he knew that, but there wasn't anything else he could do. Well, he could also just tell you that he was feeling jealous but that wasn't an option in his mind.

You weren't his partner so he couldn't do that, no.

It didn't take you long to notice his absence, so you excused yourself to go search for your friend. Friend.

You knew this word wouldn't describe your relationship with Grusha properly. There was definitely something more between the two of you but you also didn't know what exactly.

You had feelings for him but you didn't want ruin this thing you had with him. You also had no idea what he felt towards you, it could just be platonic on his side so you didn't want to risk anything.

You found him sitting on a bench, his Pokedex in his hand. He seemed lost in thoughts and didn't notice when you approached him. He flinched when you poked his arm but relaxed when he saw it was you.

"What are you doing here? That guy probably misses you, you should go back to him."

Grushas words surprised you. Normally, his voice was soft with you but this time it sounded bored and cold and he didn't even look at you.

"What are you talking about?"

Grusha sighed and closed his eyes for a moment, before putting his attention on you. He had a red tint on his cheeks, which you thought were from the cold, and his lips pressed together.

It took you a moment to realize that he was jealous. Jealous of a random guy that would never see you again.

He saw the change of expression on your face, rolling his eyes when you started to smile.

"Are you jealous?"

"No."

"Yes, you are!"

"You've no idea what you're talking about." He sighed as he stood up. He noticed that you didn't move and looked back at you.

"Are you going to sit here forever?"

"Only if you're here with me." you replied and he, once again, rolled his eyes but you also noticed the little smile behind his scarf.

"Let's get some hot chocolate."

Uh, well, last I checked, Ice type Pokémon aren’t just frozen Water types. Or just frozen water. Because, you know, they’re living breathing Pokémon.

Pokemon Horizons Episode 64 Review - Explorers Bring In The Heat

I always love it whenever the Explorers show up. I feel like they spice things up. I’m always on the edge of my seat whenever they show up because they always progress with the story in some way. The events that transpired in this episode certainly got me feeling that intense feeling—it’s not because Spinel shows up, okay?

What makes the Explorers compelling villains is that the kids are never aware that they’re being played right into their hands at times. It’s because they move around so secretively. Liko wasn’t aware that she was separated from Roy and Dot on purpose. I was surprised that Roy and Dot were shocked about Sandwich and Onigiri’s identities. I thought they already knew back in Episode 46. I guess seeing their sillier sides throughout the course had them adjusted to them not being too much harm.

There’s also discord amongst the members themselves. While Amethio and Liko are still enemies, Amethio’s true purpose was to see what Spinel is up to. He had more of an anti-hero role just for this episode in a way. The battle between Amethio and Liko was actually great! Even Amethio was surprised with how much she has improved since their last battle. Liko knows how to strategize! The only bad thing is that the battle got interrupted as Terastalized Ceruledge got interrupted by Spinel’s Umbreon and eventually got knocked out by it.

Spinel’s such a compelling villain in the sense that he’s truly menacing. Not only did he make Liko and Amethio meet each other, he also shows off what the Rakurium can do. Apparently, it makes Pokemon aggressive. His Umbreon became aggressive and got an enhance in strength. It’s like a mix between the R drug that was the main conflict in Detective Pikachu and Shadow Pokemon in Pokemon Colosseum. The fact that he’s willing to experiment on his Umbreon makes Spinel a bit of a psychopath. He has a Pokemon who evolves via friendship yet uses it for experimental purposes. Yet, it’s still loyal to him. Spinel wants to get rid of Amethio and the way he said it makes me wonder if he’s going to overthrow Gibeon and become the true final villain of the story. Just what are you plotting with Chalce?

Terapagos wasn’t a source of burden this time, surprisingly! Instead, Terapagos keeps showing off its angry side as it gets angry whenever it sees Amethio and got furious when it saw Rakurium. I wonder if Rakurium is something bad which is why it ignited its fury. Honestly, the way it’s normally sweet but is seen perpetually angry really got me invested. I wonder what its deal with Rakurium is.

I do like that Roy and Dot called Friede about Liko being missing. I guess Friede’s coming back into the story now. Also, I guess he’s calling Grusha and that’s why he shows up in the preview for next episode. I love it that the kids go straight to Friede for help. It shows that they know that can’t solve problems on their own. They’re a team, after all.

I think the best thing about the ending of Liko and Amethio being trapped in a cave is that we can finally see how they’ll get out. I swear, if they escape the cave off-screen, I’m going to riot. Horizons, you have to make up for the travesty that was Episode 23. I got my eye on you. What are your thoughts on the episode?

THE GRAPHICSSS GOD THE LIMITED 3D GRAPHICS THEYRE SO CHARMING!!!!!!! not to mention the loml N!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! god i feel so much about N. honestly the motivations of the evil team r actually so interesting and I think it makes for some of the most compelling story u see in the early pokemon games. pokemon liberation??? hello???? it's one thing to want to take over the world or like. flood the earth but to manipulate the masses and play to people's guilty conscience by insinuating that they might be Hurting pokemon by keeping them captive??? they did not have to cook so severely with that concept but i'm so glad they did. That being said I think I prefer the story of the original b/w games just because of how new and unsettling it was to encounter team plasma for the first time and all the interactions with N, but I do rly appreciate how the sequels expounded on them! colress is ok as a villain and even more ok as mad scientist twink eyecandy so I'll allow him gfsdjh I also do like that b2/w2 included more pokemon in the base games I love you early riolu i love you castelia city eevee encounter,,,. I also LOVE how they tried to pull a Trainer Red 2.0 with the postgame battle against the b/w MC in the sequels god gen5 is so GOOD :’)

Platinum i mean is anyone surprised hfdsjg sinnoh is art to me. fr all i rave about gen5 gen4 is the one I grew up with and played alongside my friend group as a kid so when it comes to the nostalgia factor, sinnoh is unmatched. The legendaries in this gen r iconic and so well designed there is not a single one that sticks out as a hard miss. sinnoh gave us cresselia and darkrai it gave us 2 forms of shaymin it gave us !!! glaceon!!!!!!!! i love u sinnoh always <3

i also have to give an honourary mention to sw/sh gdfshjgdsjk games that arguably get an even Worse rep ik but hear me out. they were my return to the pokemon games after having skipped gens 6-7 entirely and I enjoyed my playthrough SO much I genuinely had so much fun. I wasn’t too put off by the glitches or the objectively bad plot, I was just so happy to be playing pokemon again :’> ALSO I am a proud Hop defender I respect the hell out of the writers for the arc they gave him. Was it rushed and underdeveloped yes but by pokemon game standards? I honestly found Hop’s self-doubt n identity crisis super moving sue me. One of the things he admires most about you is how well your vocals shift when the moment calls for it. You could sing gently to help pokemon sleep then scream at the top of your lungs to hype up a crowd. "Why is a special talent of mine~. Maybe I'll sing you a lullaby one of these days...what was your name Grusha?" That was the first thing you've ever said to him, the first time you've meet, since then he's always had this warm feeling in his chest

His dreams already died but whenever he sees you he always sees another dream flourish and bloom. One of the many reasons he's attracted to you

He doesn't admit it but he's very cat-like hell deny missing you when your on tour. Yet his actions say otherwise. You would leave to take a bath and he would offer to bathe with you. If you were cuddling somewhere your even more screwed. He'll pin you down making sure you can't move. He also refuses to offer affection verbally yet you wake up in his arms

Speaking of tours he can only go to the shows in Paldea. He's a gym leader he can't exactly leave. So you decided to Perform with Rhyme! It was crowded but at least he got to see you do what you enjoy

He doesn't tell you he isn't that into rock until you showed him more tone downed rock. "So does that mean you don't like the music I play?!" he'll die before answering that question.

You decided to take on the gym challenge. "I'll only use one Pokemon to nerf myself" "Why do you feel the need to do that" "Why I want this to be a fair fight hmmm" you change your position of a Pokemon and you begin the battle...was your motorcycle always um...standing on two legs?

Your Koridon was such a party crasher, mood ruiner, fart cloud. He dosent like Koridon. You two could be in a heated moment and he would ruin it. ESPECIALLY WHEN IT INVOLVES FOOD. Date in a fancy restaurant? He would pop out the Pokeball and eat the food you were feeding HIM. He doesn't want to hurt your feelings by saying it out loud but your Koridons a Lizard cock block

The worst time he thinks Koridon ever cock blocked him was when you two were about to go to sleep and you got on top of him the moonlight hitting your face at just the right angle "good night dear" and just as you were about to kiss him you two hear rummaging in the kitchen. "HUH?! I'm gonna go check that out stay here" you walked out seeing Koridon's attempts at opening the fridge. "....are you serious" your Koridon looked pleased you opened it for him and let him pick something out before going back into his Pokeball. Walking back into the room you tell Grusha what happened. He hated Koridon ever since. At this point, he tells you to ignore Koridon whenever you two are about to kiss. Just give him the smooch and you'll deal with it later 😾.

Whenever you're seen in public by a fan they usually just want a picture. One time someone posted where you and him were and you saw people suddenly line up in a cafe all lined up to see you. He sees you get overwhelmed and decides to lead you out of the establishment. She likes rock! And found your band out trying to get out of her comfort zone. She fell in love with more than just a voice that day. So she looked around your band's profile and found out you guys not only had a YouTube channel, but you were coming to Paldea! This was her chance.

You were performing when a technical error occurred, you took the chance and decided to talk to the audience. "And what might be your name sweet checks" may have been the first time she's flustered to answer her own name "Rika..." "Rika huh? That's a nice name rolls off the tongue" you get a message from staff that everything's fine and get up to continue performing. Ever since then, she's used that to fluster you. You eventually moved to Paldea sending your parts of songs overseas to your producers and bandmates. Still meant you had to go to events with your band. Wasn't a problem till you get texts from Rika saying she missed you. "Bro your always looking at your phone you ok?" "It's just...I wanna see my girlfriend" "it's been 3 hours" "that's two days 😔" "..." they had to look up pictures of her to keep your head in the game. You always try to surprise her when you come back. Appearing behind her, waiting for her outside of gyms. Your bandmates call it laughing through the rivers of tears. She does miss you too she just doesn't say it out loud. She does try to touch you more often "Are you trying to figure out if I'm an Astral projection?!" "Are you?!" "AM I?!" You try to put your finger through yourself only to fail. Another thing Rika teases you for.

She knew you had a motorcycle like Pokemon she just didn't know how much of a cockblock it would be. She'd lay down and you'd take the chance to kiss her when Koridon pops out of his Pokeball. "OH KORIDON-" you're trying to hide Rika behind you as Koridon asks for food. She was disappointed but it won't happen twice...right? It did. You two were on a calm ride in an amusement park enjoying the view when you saw Koridon drift down toward you two. " what in the-" "HES AIR SWIMMING?!" LET HER HAVE HER KISS DAMMIT. She basically leaves Koridon's Pokeball on tables just so you and her could have intimate moments.

Speaking of Intimate moments, she pinned you to a wall in a semi-public area. "What's wrong? Cat got your tongue" "Rika- you know this isn't the time or place-" "oh come on surely no harm could come from teasing my s/o a little" "MOM IS THAT Y/N?!" You look at her with an I told you so glance as the kid begins to freak out seeing their idol. "And why are they getting pinned to the wall like that?" You sometimes open up your guitar case to practice when she's not around when you do practice when she's around she nearly begs to try ending up in you two singing karaoke and leaving you too wiped it even sing tomorrow.

She likes telling you to try on her stuff and wear them to concerts. "My glasses look so cute on you! Please just for today!" "I have a concert but..I'll try-" your fans made edits of you with her glasses on. Witch, she will promptly shove in your face. "Eh he's not that good looking" "I'd turn into a mop if he told me too" "...what-" he had to explain to her that you two have an inside joke about how pretty each other were and she eventually agreed with the drummer that indeed...you're hot.

Despite the inside jokes, she knows you wouldn't cheat. How? Because you gush about literally every little thing she does. "She's just so AHHH you know what I'm saying bro" her Clodsire agrees with you. "Wish I was single again so I could ask her out again" you pause. It's depressing how many deez nuts jokes you can make in a day.

You have this habit of putting tape on a piece of paper after scribing something. Then putting it on someone or something. So you started putting paper mustaches on Koridon and Clodsire. A stray hair, a bump in his scarf, and now his pants. One of your odd but endearing ways of showing affection he decided at one point. “It’s not making it hard to walk or anything like that.”

“I know- but if I leave it alone it’ll haunt me.” You reached up towards the back of his knee. “Dude, why are your pants so-”

You froze, terrified you hurt him. Only to realize a second later the knee you were touching wasn’t his bad one. “Did you just squeak?”

Grusha didn’t respond. When you looked up, you found him averting his red faced somewhere else. ��That's so adorable! Do it again!” You didn't bother hiding your smile, curling your fingers.

“Eeh! (Y/N), I swear-” He tried to sound angry, but giggles ruined his threat. You wrapped yourself around his leg like a Komala with a bright laugh, squeezing and tickling his leg. “Nohohoh, dohohohn’t!”

“Oh my- the cool, confident Grusha giggling like a child! What will the press say?” You teased, keeping one hand on the back of his knee while the other squeezed along his lower thigh. “Front page story! Grusha smiling and laughing while his partner tickles him silly!”

“Yohohohohu shuhuhuhuhush! Gehahahhaahah, (Y/N) stahahhap! AH!” Grusha went to swat at you, but missed. He fell back unceremoniously into the snow, struggling in vain to get away. “Chuhuhuhut thahahhat ohohohout! Ehehehehheehehe!”

“Gru, you are okay?” You gave up your tickling and scooted up to check on him. “Sorry- I didn’t mean to-AH!”

“Gotcha ass!” He shoved a handful of snow down your neck, laughing in victory. In a matter of minutes, he was back on his feet and scurrying away as you shivered. “That’s what you get for tickling me!”

“Ooo, you’re gonna get it now!” You raced after him, laughing at his yelp of surprise. The two of you were gonna be late for his next gym battle.

Mallow: Couldn't tell you why, but I cannot get into her games iteration. Anime Mallow's cool, and dating Lillie.

Chuck: I love Johto, I'm a bit biased.

Cheren: My wife will be mad, but I think he's kinda bland. His arc doesn't feel like it goes very far.

N: Now this is potentially controversial. I don't really care about N. I think he's kind of uninteresting. There are tidbits of interest, but I think he fails to seriously stick the landing as a dude with stuff going on, and is also like weirdly belligerent when you disagree with him on literally anything.

Pryce: Johto fan, sorry.

Melli: Listen. He's a bitch. I kinda love that for him.

Dreyden: Neat dragon man.

Roark/Kiawe: Sure.

Brycen: I kinda like that he acts as a villain, but otherwise not doing much.

Roxie: I owe an apology to someone, but I stand by it. She's not that interesting to me.

Juniper: she's a decently fun professor figure.

Arezu: she's kinda cute, has a bit of attitude, the game doesn't lean into much with her though.

Zossie/Dulse: I don't remember Ultra Moon's goons but I hated them. These two had a cuter dynamic so I had a bit of attachment, but very little.

Drayton: kind of a punk bitch. I am down for his dynamic with Carmine, but not because of him. I think she should break his bones.

Palmer: he's fine I guess.

Crispin: exudes nothing.

Riley/Marley: sure.

Saturn/Jupiter: less personality than Mars.

Petrel: My man, but he is still a Rocket.

Plumeria: being Team Mom to the goon squad does nothing for me.

Camera lady: Literally forgot her name. WAIT PERRIN! I don't care about her. I do not find her pretty and hate her outfit.

Green: she has some quirkiness but they don't really let her do anything fun.

Protag squad: sure.

Masters squad: Masters OCs do nothing for me, sorry. I think gacha OCs are more in the way than anything.
